Well, if that’s not a spoiler...Thank you so much for waiting. I apologize for the delay! Please come back later tonight for another spooky tale...Also, my apologies, I didn’t get a chance to proofread. I appreciate your patience. :D
_______
Life had dealt you some harsh blows but you found happiness wherever you could. Your management position at the vinyl store Neo Records gave you prime access to the best music in the world. Even if the employee discount was trash. You’d worked at the records store for a few months now. This followed you having moved out of your mom’s place. You’d lived with her and your beloved stepfather while you attended college but you’d had enough.
Your mom was a drug addict and her husband Scott only enabled her to continue her abuse. You couldn’t say anything to them because you were the child and they were the adults.
And, as they had always thrown in your face, they paid for a good amount of your tuition because financial aid and scholarships could only do so much for you.
Well, you’re twenty four now and still a child in their eyes. You couldn’t take your mother’s mood swings and Scott’s goading for her to thrash around and party all the time. If your mother wasn’t going to get therapy and refused your help, then you decided to leave.
You had a really good relationship with your dad. You’d wished you had gone to live with him but during your college years, he’d only made enough to send you some funds for your tuition. You appreciated what he could do for you.
However, now he was more financially stable and he wanted to support you so you could move out of your mother’s house. You’d live in an apartment not too far from your dad’s place so you could visit him as much as you’d like. It drove your mom crazy. She always tried to contact you and convince you that she was going to get help. It was a tale as old as time. She said she would get help but never did anything about it. Once she had you under her finger, she reverted back to her ways: skipping work shifts, neglecting household chores, and verbally abusing you. You simply texted her you were busy with work.
Your boyfriend Johnny has been a source of comfort for you over the past year. You’d met him at a club one night with your friends. You told him you didn’t want to go home that night and asked him if you could stay over. Looking back on it, you had been too trusting but Johnny had treated you kindly: he let you take his bed while he slept on the couch. He made you breakfast in the morning: banana pancakes and scrambled eggs. You had sex with him the morning after and you’d been inseparable ever since.
These past few weeks, Johnny had been busier at his new job at a marketing firm. You two were supposed to have a date night tonight but he cancelled two hours before you were to meet at Hal’s Pizzeria for dinner. After that, you were supposed to go to the movies together. You were always a big fan of the dinner and movie date.
You sat on the couch in your living room, feeling a little blue that Johnny was working overtime. So you scrolled through your phone while you watched episodes of an English-dubbed anime about volleyball.
You texted your best friend Carla about how Johnny cancelled at the last minute and she replied: Since you don’t have plans, then I have an opportunity for you.
You texted back, What’s up?
She replied, I had a reservation at Osaka Moon for tonight but I got called in for work. Wanna go? The owner is supposed to be hot as fuck.
You replied, Okay, want me to get his number for you?
She texted, Unnecessary. Thanks, y/n. We’ll go together next time.
_______
Osaka Moon was a high-end restaurant all your friends told you about. You decided to go on your own to the restaurant and have a date night with yourself. Being alone could be tranquil, you assured yourself. And you didn’t have to worry about looking so graceful as you ate so this could be great.
You dolled yourself up in a pale pink dress and some white wedges. It was an understated but elegant look. It was an expensive restaurant so you decided to go all out. You entered the Japanese restaurant and gave the hostess your friend’s name. She immediately sat you down at a table that overlooked the bay. It was a spectacular view. No wonder Carla didn’t want this reservation to go to waste.
It was a shame Johnny couldn’t be here with you right now. This place was so romantic. There were indoor fountains with koi fish swimming around. The ceiling was painted in shades of the sunset with birds flying through the clouds. The aroma of grilled meat and vegetables made you salivate.
A waiter took your order and you took out your phone to take pictures of the restaurant and the view. You wondered if you would catch a glimpse of the chef your friend had mentioned.
As you move your camera around the restaurant to get a wider shot of the place, you recognize someone through your phone. Johnny’s hair was slicked back and he was wearing your favorite suit of his: navy blue with a ruby red colored tie. His height made him stick out like a sore thumb. The sight before you made you wish he’d be a little taller so his head could hit the ceiling. For the sight left a bitter taste in your mouth.
Johnny had arrived at Osaka Moon with another woman. She was generically pretty and you hated her even more. She looked like the mean blonde girl of every early 2000s romantic comedy. She wore a revealing dress that exposed her cleavage very nicely. Why were you paying so much attention to her cleavage? Because of the necklace around her neck: a necklace that looked identical to the one Johnny gifted you last year. It was a rose gold pendant with a rose at the center. Johnny kissed the woman’s lips as he sat her down at the table. She placed her hands against his slimy face.
Son of a-
Hot tears started rushing down your face. You were sure your mascara was running. You gripped your glass of wine tightly. You were surprised you didn’t break the glass then and there.
First off, you went to the restroom and checked your makeup. A little mascara had run down your cheeks. You fixed your makeup and took a few deep breaths. You looked at yourself in the mirror. Your eyes were red. What were you going to do now? There was a chance he’d see you and you didn’t want to see the stupid look on his face when he realized he’d been found out.
And you didn’t want to imagine what other reaction he could have. All of this happening in such an extravagant place made you seethe.
Johnny made a fool out of you and his infidelity carved a hole so deeply into your heart, you wanted to scream. So you took a few more minutes to collect yourself. You imagined your entree would be out soon enough anyway. You quickly realized what you needed to do.
You made a beeline for the entrance of the restaurant and approached the first staff member you saw. He was a slender and striking young man. His long brown hair was tied up in a bun. His chiseled face made everyone’s heads turn. His heart shaped lips were perfect. And…
Why were you thinking all of these things when you’d just been cheated on?
Wait a second…
Why couldn’t you think this way? As of ten minutes ago, your relationship with Johnny was over.
The handsome man was talking to one of the hostesses. The hostess was biting her lips and making googly eyes at him. This was awkward but you were resolved to ask him for help.
You tapped him lightly on the shoulder. “Excuse me.”
He turned around and eye contact with him nearly sent you into the stratosphere. His eyes were the deepest brown and when he looked at you, you felt like you were his world.
His eyes were that intense.
“How can I help you?” He smiled, his perfect set of teeth greeted you.
“Hi...Um, what’s your name?” You start, awkward at the start.
He smiled even wider, “Yuta, miss. And yours?”
“I’m y/n. Can I make a special request?”
You didn’t know it then but Yuta watched you enter the restaurant earlier. He was stunned by your beauty and your smile. You looked like a princess as you entered his castle. He saw the wonderstruck look on your face as you were led to your table. He’d never seen someone so happy to enter his restaurant. The young man before you was the owner of Osaka Moon: Nakamoto Yuta.
So for you to come up to him and ask him for a favor? He was more than happy to oblige.
Yuta noticed how red your eyes looked and was concerned. He wondered what transpired when he had to go check on the kitchen staff and couldn’t keep admiring you.
Although your eyes had been red, there was determination in them, he noted.
“Of course,” he said as you moved closer to him and whispered in his ear, making you both a little hot and bothered instantly. You both felt a spark from the moment you met eyes.
Snap out of it, you told yourself. He was very attractive, yes, but your heart had been ripped out of your chest. You wanted revenge. You had to remember why you were talking to this fine man in the first place.
_______
You sat back at your table, undetected by the clusterfuck of a man you used to call your boyfriend. You made sure to focus on your meal, which had been orgasmic. The dish was called Okonomiyaki, a pancake with sliced pork belly and cabbage. The okonomiyaki sauce, Japanese mayonnaise, and dried bonito shavings sealed this dish as one of the best meals you’d ever had. Your compliments to the chef, whoever they were.
You realized it was go-time when the handsome staff member brought the food out for Johnny and his date. All eyes were on the young man who said he would help you. You wondered why. Has your plan been found out?
The young man deposited the dishes to Johnny’s table. His radiant smile never slipped from his face. Incredible, you thought. After what you told him about Johnny, he looked like he was about to pounce on him right then. Even so, he looked attentively at you and accepted your request.
“Here you are,” Yuta said as he put down the plates of sushi in front of Johnny and Blondie. “And a special treat from our chef…”
Johnny and his date oohed and ahhed over their plates. Until the young man deposited a plate that had sauce spelling “Cheater, Liar, Bastard” on it.
“This dish is for you, sir. Have a pleasant evening with Girlfriend Number Two, you son of a bitch.” Yuta gritted his teeth at Johnny. The expression on Yuta’s face then both terrified and aroused you.
Humiliating your cheating boyfriend and standing up for you...It brought a smile to your face.
Even if you still wanted to cry.
Johnny glared up at Yuta, “What the hell is-” He then does what he never does and THINKS. He panics and scans the restaurant, looking for you. He finds you seated at your table. You raise your glass at him as you take a sip of your wine. You flip the bird at him in the process.
He stands up from his table and runs over to your table. “Y/n…”
The other woman is right behind Johnny and  simply laughs. “This is her? From the way you talked about her, I expected a real threat...but it’s nice to see that I have nothing to worry about.”
So she knew? She was in on this? You mimicked the blonde’s laugh. “Oh, fuck off...both of you…How long have been together?”
“Three months,” the blonde smirked.
That hurt. A lot. Johnny must’ve started seeing Blondie around the time you’d celebrated your one year anniversary with him.
You guessed one year was his expiration date for relationships.
“Go…” You started. “Have a nice blissful year together. In nine months or so, he’ll find someone shiny and new..”
Johnny was at a loss for words. “Y/n, I am so-”
“Are you sorry?” You rolled your eyes. “Go to hell, Johnny!” You couldn’t hold back anymore as the tears came out.
Yuta came up behind Johnny and his date. “I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you to leave.”
“How dare you?” Blondie asked. “I want to speak to your manager-”
Yuta crossed his arms as his lips quirked up. “You’re looking at him.”
The three of you stared at him with your jaws to the floor. This was news to you. You’d ask the restaurant owner for a favor? The audacity you had…
Your face heated up in embarrassment.
Yuta called over a few security guards to escort Johnny and his date out. Johnny couldn’t even look at you. A fucking coward. His other girl had more balls than he did.
Yuta put a hand on your shoulder and leaned down to speak to you. “Are you okay?” His anger dissipated at the sight of your tears.
You sniffled. “Yeah...Thank you...I-I’m so sorry for bothering you...I didn’t know you were the owner of this place…”
He squeezed your shoulder. “I was happy to help…”
You laughed. “You scared the crap out of me when you called him a son of a bitch.”
He played around with you. “Ah, you liked that? I’ve been working on my crime lord act...How do you think it’s coming along?”
You wiped your tears with your napkin. “Pretty good.”
You both laughed.
“Well, y/n...I hope you have a wonderful rest of the night.” He tipped his imaginary hat and walked away.
As you finished your meal, your waiter brought you a bowl of green tea mochi ice cream.
“Oh, I didn’t order this,” you started.
The waiter replied, “Courtesy of the boss, miss. Please let us know if there is anything else you would like. Your meal is on the house.”
“I’m sorry, what?” You asked in shock.
The waiter smiled. “Just following the boss’ orders.”
This night may have begun on a sour note but at least you could end it at this incredible place. And you were pretty sure you’d met a real life knight in shining armor tonight...
Before you left the restaurant, the hostess, annoyed, handed you an envelope. “Here.”
“What is it?” You furrowed your brows in confusion.
The hostess sighed. “The golden ticket. Have a good night, miss.” She returned to her stand with her coworkers.
You walked out the door and left Osaka Moon. You opened the envelope and found a handwritten letter.
y/n,
I’ll be upfront with you. I wanted to ask you out the minute you walked into Osaka Moon. But then I found out you had a boyfriend. And right after that, I found out he was a cheating piece of shit...So I’m at a crossroads here...Can I see you again? If yes, please call me at 555-127-1026.
Yours,
Yuta
P.S. The green tea mochi was good, wasn’t it?
_______
A week had passed. You and Yuta have been texting non-stop. He invited you to his restaurant to have dinner. The beef tenderloin he’d served you was out of this world. He made you laugh and shamelessly flirted with you the whole time. You told Yuta you weren’t ready to date so soon. You didn’t want him to be a rebound. You knew that once your heart mended a little more, you’d want to ask Yuta out. He was more than willing to wait for you.
You two had a lot in common: same taste in food, same taste in music, same sense of humor, and you both believed in astrology. No one was as unapologetic about being a Scorpio as Yuta was.
You and Yuta would share meals together frequently. Sometimes outside of his restaurant. And right after, you two would go to the movies like you wanted.
Two months have passed. Finally a couple, you and Yuta have just left the cinema. You’d just watched a midnight showing of Paranormal Activity 7.
“That was amazing,” you started.
Yuta snorted. “You are too easy to please, y/n. That movie was terrible.”
You slapped him in the chest. “You’re so full of it.”
Yuta chuckled. “Nothing beats horror movies from Japan. Just you wait…” He wrapped his arm around you.
You looked up at him. “Is that a promise?”
He kissed the crown of your head. “You bet it is.”
_______
“It is week nine into the investigation of Johnny Suh’s disappearance. Johnny Suh is a twenty four year old marketing consultant. He hails from Chicago, Illinois…” The news anchor says on the television screen.
You and Yuta are cuddled on his couch in his penthouse suite, watching the news. You were shocked when you first heard that Johnny had gone missing over two months ago. Even though you’d hated him with every fiber of your being, your heart ached for his family. You hoped he would be okay.
Yuta drove to you to work that morning and told you he would pick you up when your shift ended. He planned to surprise you with a backyard screening of “Ring”, one of the most popular Japanese horror films of all time. He’d set up a projector in his backyard so you two could watch the movie under the stars.
When Yuta arrived to pick you up, he saw you run out of the record shop and run away in tears. He ran out of his car to meet you.
“Baby, what’s wrong? What happened?” Yuta asked as he cupped your face in his hands and wiped tears away.
You sniffled. “Let’s go...Pl-please.”
Yuta was hesitant but he accepted as you definitely wanted to get the hell out of there.
The question on Yuta’s mind was...Why?
As he drove away from Neo Records, he asked, more softly, “What happened, y/n?”
“I quit,” you said.
Yuta nearly stopped the car so he could look at you. However, he couldn’t because the traffic was quite unpredictable so he couldn’t turn to face you. “What? Why?”
“I...I don’t...He...Uh…” You hiccuped between your tears.
Yuta gripped the steering wheel at the sound of “he”. “Who? Y/n, did someone do something to you?”
You were worried about how Yuta might react when you told him about how your boss, Mr. Fox, groped you during your lunch break. Mr. Fox had always been too friendly with female staff but you never thought he would cross the line. Until today.
“Mr. Fox touched...me…” You managed to say. You shut your eyes, awaiting the wrath of the Scorpio beside you.
Yuta was about to rip the steering wheel out of the car. “He did what?”
“He touched me, Yuta...And I...I didn’t know what to do...I don’t have proof...So I quit. I can’t be in the same room as him anymore…”
Yuta was furious. To see the woman he loved broken and helpless. You were his everything and you deserve nothing but the best the world had to offer. And to see you get treated like this? He wanted to beat the shit out of Mr. Fox. He wanted to see him cry and beg for mercy.
He didn’t want to frighten you with his anger because you were already shaken up as is so he turned into a store plaza parking lot and put the car in park. He turned to you and asked you, “Can I hold you?”
You nodded, “Y-yes…”
Yuta backed the driver seat up so you could crawl into his arms. He held you as you cried. His heart ached for you and he wondered what he could do to get you justice.
You were so thankful to Yuta. You knew he would be so upset once you told him. Your heart felt so reassured to see how passionate he was about you. He made you feel like you were his world. And you felt much better knowing that you had him by your side.
_______
A week had passed by after you quit your job at Neo Records. You couldn’t afford to pay your half of the rent so Yuta offered for you to move in. You were thrilled at the idea. You and Yuta were living like blissful newlyweds.
You were washing the dishes after you two had eaten some imported steak that Yuta had wanted to try out. It was incredible. Everything Yuta prepared for you was literal sex in your mouth.
As you stretched your neck to the left, Yuta wrapped his arms around you and nibbled on your neck. “y/n, you smell like raspberries…”
You froze and dropped the dish you’d been scrubbing into the soapy water.
Yuta turned you around quickly and pulled your cleaning gloves off of your hands and tossed them aside. He picked you up and sat you on the kitchen island.
“I love that you’re here with me…” He whispered.
The hooded look in his eyes made your panties soak. He lifted the skirt of your dress up like nothing. He sunk his teeth into the fabric of your panties and pulled them down, never losing eye contact with you. You loved how primal he got with you. He always left you with love bites. He always seemed to find new places to leave them so you can find them during a random part of your day and think of him.
“I wonder if your pussy tastes like raspberries, y/n...Shall we find out?” Yuta asks as he looks up at you. He was on his knees, looking like he was praying to his goddess.
You nodded fervently as you pulled your dress off over your head, only in your bra now. “Yes…”
He unclasped your bra so your breasts were exposed to the cold air in the kitchen. Your nipples were already hard at Yuta’s initial touch. He got up off his knees and began sucking at one nipple and rubbing the others. He bit your nipple and you cried out.
You grabbed at his growing member and he grunted. You unbuttoned his pants so his aching member could be free. You squeezed it harder and began rubbing up and down. Traces of precum coated your fingers. You worked harder to get him riled up. When he felt himself build up, you stopped and he looked up at you through needy eyes.
You kept going until he climaxed onto your arm. You licked his cum off of your arm slowly and it made his cock harder. He met you halfway and lathered up his juices. He loved the taste of his seed on you.
Yuta catered to your pussy which ached for his touch. His hot breath greeted your entrance before he inserted two fingers inside you. He coated his fingers in your growing essence. You adorned him with kisses and love bites. You bit behind his ear and he moaned at your velvet touch.
He laid you down on top of the kitchen island, throwing everything off of the table with a quick swipe of his arm. He straddled himself on top of you. He proceeded to give your entrance some kitten licks, enjoying when he teased you most of all. You got all bratty and needy and it always drove him up a wall.
“Yuta...please hurry,” you begged.
He tsked. “Good things come to those who wait, darling.”
At the sound of “darling”, you got even wetter.
He chuckled as he licked your folds and played around with your sweet spot. Never quite making contact and making you delirious with need. You gripped his hair, trying to maneuver him to hit your sweet spot already.
“You better not cum until I say so, y/n...Or else I’m going to get very angry…” Yuta said with a mischievous smile on his face.
Yuta underestimated his touch, you thought. The man was literal sex on two feet. You came quickly at the contact he’d made with your pussy.
He frowned at you, “My dear little slut, you’ve disobeyed me.”
You sighed blissfully. “You make me want to break the rules, Yuta.”
He laughed. “So I’m to blame for your disobedience, huh?”
You grabbed his face and kissed him, your tongue playing around with his. You kissed his neck and left marks against his collarbone as he teased his cock against your entrance.
He entered you now and you felt close to completion. He thrusted against you and you joined him. The slapping of skin against skin and your moans echoed throughout the penthouse. You were thankful there were no next door neighbors. You liked the feeling of this floor being just the two of you.
Alone with Yuta, you felt like the center of his universe. You felt like a queen. That no one else mattered quite like you did. Yuta always made you feel like the most important person in the world.
You felt the need to climax come back quickly but just as you wished for your release against Yuta’s member, he removed himself and pecked your lips.
Between your thighs, he gave you a dark stare. “I don’t know if you should cum again, sweets.”
You drooled. “Please…”
Yuta teased. “What was that?”
“Please,” you full on begged as you started to touch yourself. “I need you or else I’m going to finish the job.”
He gasped and laughed. “You’re unbelievable.”
You coated your fingers in your essence and popped your index finger into Yuta’s mouth. He sucked hard.
“How do I taste?” You asked.
Yuta didn’t let go of your finger and bit lightly against it to tease you further.
You sighed. “Well, if you don’t want to fuck me properly, then I can’t force you. I’ll finish off in the shower.” You got up off the kitchen counter and nearly lost your balance. You were already weak in the knees.
Yuta fought back a laugh. “I’d like to see you make it to the shower, jello legs.”
You gave up and laid on the floor, giving him a nice angle of your naked body. You stretched out and started teasing your own entrance, imagining Yuta was building you up again. And having him watch from above on the kitchen counter, you felt yourself grow even hotter.
Yuta got up off of the counter and straddled you again. Without warning, he entered you and went hard. Tears streamed from your eyes as you climaxed quickly. Yuta continued you to thrust against your pelvis until he came quickly after.
Yuta took you into the shower where you would continue to fuck and he gave you new love bites. This time, they were on your ankles.
_______
A month had passed and you’d taken over as manager of Neo Records. Mr. Fox had fallen off the face of the earth and was reported missing. It was odd. Another man who attempted to ruin your life had disappeared. You thought it was karmic justice but deep down, it bothered you.
Your mother once again resurfaced after months of radio silence. She wanted to invite you and your new boyfriend (who she was very upset not to have heard about before) over for dinner. Scott and his kids from his previous marriage would be there. You hated them, too. They were a bunch of enabling brats that were after their daddy’s money.
You couldn’t say no to your mother, especially after she found out about Yuta from your dad. It wounded her pride that your dad knew something she didn’t. Your dad felt horrible for letting it slip in conversation with her. He couldn’t dodge her phone calls. He always tried to pacify her and talk to her when she called. So he couldn’t help but mention Yuta.
You didn’t want Yuta to know about your mother and her side of the family, for it brought about deep shame, regret, and painful memories.
But this time, you couldn’t run away.
You and Yuta went over to your mother’s lavish home, your old home for seven years. Scott married your mom when you were a senior in high school. Scott came from old money but he never worked a day in his life. The undeserving ass wipe, he was.
Your mother pretended to be the picture of domesticity as she cooked her once-in-a-decade dish of lasagna. You loved it, you hated to admit it now. You begged her to make it so many times when you were a kid. She always said she would but would always get distracted. Distracted with her new boyfriends or paying a debt. Sometimes you were truly on your own even if your mom had been physically beside you.
You and Yuta sat at the table with Scott and his kids. They prodded Yuta with questions about his ethnicity, his restaurant, his political beliefs, basically everything you can think of that would make anyone’s significant other runs for the hills.
Yuta took it like a champ. He answered them as politely as possible and whenever the question was too offensive to get an answer, Yuta masterfully deflected.
Your mom brought out the lasagna and served everyone. She gave an extra helping for Yuta. “I hope you like it, Yuta.”
Yuta nodded. “Thank you, Ms. y/l/n.” He took a bite of it. “It’s delicious.”
Your mom smiled brightly and gave you a look of encouragement.
You forced a smile.
Your mom could tell you were faking it and her smile faded. “You still hate me, don’t you, y/n?”
Oh no, you thought, not here…
“I make this nice dinner for you and your perfect boyfriend...Who is clearly way out of your league...And you’re moping around like a sad, pathetic little bitch.”
“Mom, please stop-”
“You don’t tell me what to do! I am the parent. You are the child. Get that through your thick head. God knows what poison your father has been feeding you about me but he’s wrong. I’ve never been better,” she says as she downs her third glass of beer in the past thirty minute.
She was already this inebriated so you imagined she drank before you arrived and drank more while she was cooking the lasagna.
You looked down at your lap and Yuta grabbed your hand. He squeezed it.
“Your mother has been coming with me to church, y/n,” Scott began, “She’s been conversing with the Lord and she’s been on the mend. Why can’t you see that?”
Your other hand that wasn’t holding Yuta’s had balled up into a fist.
Scott’s oldest daughter added, “Your mom’s amazing, y/n. She’s more of a mother to me than my actual mother is.”
That’s rich….Your mom always acted so sweetly with Scott’s kids to get on his good side. It was sickening. And to hear this bullshit come out of their mouth...You were about to reach your breaking point.
“Yuta, let’s go,” you said.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Scott asked.
“Anywhere but here,” you said, “Excuse us.”
“Y/n, if you leave, I will never talk to you again!” Your mom wailed as she gripped her glass tightly.
You snapped, “Well, mom, that just might be the nicest thing would ever do for me.”
Yuta started. “Y/n-”
“Go to hell!” Your mom yelled.
“I’ll meet you there!” You yelled back as you stormed with Yuta right behind you.
Back at your place, you hid in your bedroom while Yuta ordered some takeout. You laid your face down on Yuta’s pillow and smelled the scent of his shampoo mixed with his cologne on it. It gave you great comfort.
Yuta joined you and sat beside you on the bed. “The food will be here in half an hour.”
“Thank you,” you mumbled against the pillow.
Yuta sighed as he laid down next to you. “How are you?”
“Humiliated,” you answered.
“Y/n...I am so sorry…”
“Are you kidding? I’m sorry I took you with me in the first place...I...I could’ve kept you from all of that…”
“Your mother insisted, y/n. We had no choice.”
“Yup, that’s how it always is with her and fucking Scott. I fucking hate him. If it weren’t for his money and her obsession with him, she wouldn’t have gotten to this point, Yuta…”
Yuta rubbed your arm. “I know, y/n…”
You sighed. “I know there’s nothing I can do...It just sucks. I try not to let it get to me...Since it’s something I can’t control...But seeing my mom like that...It’s really fucking unfair.” You sob into your pillow.
In between your sobs, you said, “I wish Scott would go away...Somehow…”
Yuta hugged you as you cried. He wanted nothing more than to take your pain and suffering away.
_______
A month had passed since the disastrous dinner. Your mom was good with her word. She hadn’t contacted you or your dad. You’d told him about the falling out and he consoled you. He understood your pain more than anyone. He encouraged you to keep living your life and being happy with Yuta and so you did.
Yuta’s birthday was coming up so you wanted to surprise him. He told you he was meeting a client downtown so you got to work.
You wanted to take Yuta to all of his favorite places over town and you wanted to make scavenger hunt out of it. The clues would take Yuta to places that had to do with your relationship. It was a way of celebrating how much of an amazing boyfriend he’d been to you. The ultimate prize of the hunt would be a key...a hotel room key to the Lotus Hotel.
As you shopped for art supplies for your scavenger hunt one night, you’d noticed Yuta on his way somewhere. He had a couple of shopping bags with him.
You decided to follow him and catch him by surprise. However, Yuta was headed to a more abandoned part of town, where there were only warehouses.
You got behind a bunch of abandoned cars and watched Yuta make his way into a warehouse, where his car had already been parked. Half an hour passes and Yuta comes out of the door with bags stained red with blood.
You furrowed your brows in confusion. What the hell were those?
You noticed the shifty look in Yuta’s eyes and quickly, you grew scared. Terrified of being caught.
Calm down, you told yourself, it was probably meat for his restaurant. What else could it be? You felt incredibly stupid for spying on him like this. In fact, you felt ashamed.
You waited for Yuta to leave in his car. You crept into the warehouse and tried looking through the windows. You saw nothing but butchers’ paper and a basket of random items.
Except one thing stuck out to you. A gold Rolex. It was obnoxiously large that you could never forget about it.
It was Scott’s. It was one of a kind. He had it custom-made to be the only one in existence. And now it was just sitting there in a random warehouse…
But why? What was it doing in this warehouse that Yuta came out of?
Your stomach lurched at the uncertainty of it all. You needed to get the hell out of here so you ran off.
Not realizing you’d forgotten something.
_______
Yuta made you spaghetti and meatballs after work the next day. You’d been awfully quiet and he wanted to know why.
“Something bothering you, sweets?” He asked.
You played with your food and took a bite of one of the meatballs. Damn, it tasted good, you thought. It was savory and not like any other kind of beef you’ve tasted. You had to ask Yuta where he imported his meat from because there was nothing quite like it.
Still, you couldn’t look Yuta in the eyes.
“Y/n, look at me, please…” He started.
You forced yourself to look at him and just as you were about to speak, your phone rang.
You were shocked to see that it was your mom. You dreaded answering it but if it could deflect from the confrontation you were about to have with Yuta…
You answered, “Hello?”
“Y/n!” Your mom sobbed. “Scott is missing!”
Your heart nearly jumped out of your chest. “What?”
Your mom wailed. “I don’t know what to do, y/n! Have you seen him at all since you came to visit?”
Your mind immediately went to the gold Rolex at the warehouse. “No, mom, I haven’t seen him.”
Yuta watched you with curious eyes. You averted your gaze and got up from the table. “Mom, please calm down...The police will find him. That’s what they’re supposed to do.”
Your mom laughed. “When has the police ever done what they’re supposed to do?”
You sighed. “Mom, I’m so sorry...If there’s anything I can do…” You felt awkward for saying this because you absolutely hated Scott and part of you wanted to say good riddance...But you couldn’t. You couldn’t add salt to your mother’s wound.
You mom replied, “If you see or hear anything about Scott, call me. Please.”
“Okay,” you said, “Bye mom.”
Your mother hung up.
You turned back to Yuta, who watched you carefully from the table.
“Your food’s getting cold, y/n…” Yuta mused aloud.
“Right…” You said as you sat back down. You took another bite of the spaghetti and meatballs.
“What was that about?” Yuta asked, concerned.
“My mom called. Scott is missing…” You said as you looked down at your food.
“Oh? Well, that’s terrible,” Yuta said. He looked upset enough.
But you knew him. You sighed, “Yuta, you’re hiding something from me.”
His eyes widened. “Finally, I was waiting for you to say something. It’s been driving me crazy.”
“What?” You asked.
He pulled something out of his pants pocket and it was your charm bracelet. His birthday gift to you from last month...You’d completely forgotten about it. “You dropped this on the way home.”
Your mouth opened in shock.
“How long were you watching me for, y/n? It must’ve been troublesome to be hiding in the rubble across the street…”
You lost your appetite completely. “You knew?”
“I knew you were tailing me yesterday…” He said as he picked at your plate and took a bite of your food.
You started pathetically, “I wanted to surprise you…”
Yuta nodded. “But instead I surprised you…”
“Yuta, what was in those bags?” You asked. “And what were you doing with Scott’s watch?”
Yuta bit his lip and rubbed the back of his head. “Well...Since we’re this deep into the relationship, I think I should be completely honest with you, y/n.”
The look in Yuta’s eyes was something you didn’t recognize. It wasn’t playful. It was more...evil.
“Do you remember our first meal together, y/n? How savory it was? How it was unlike anything you’d ever tasted?”
You didn’t know where this was going but you responded anyway, “Y-yeah…”
“Did you ever stop to think if it was really beef tenderloin?” Yuta asked.
Your eyes widened. “N-no…”
“Come on, y/n. It’s me...You can be honest…”
“Was it veal?” You asked, grasping at straws.
Yuta shook his head and a smile was fighting to come onto his face. “Nope...I grounded him up real nicely for our first meal together…” He muttered that last part.
“Him?” You asked.
“But who else, y/n? Think.”
You and Yuta ate together for the first time after...Your breakup with Johnny.
“Yuta...What are you…” You began.
“I think I’ve made myself pretty clear.”
You laughed skeptically. “Yuta, I know you love to tease but be serious for a second…”
Yuta’s face darkened. “I am serious, y/n.”
You shook your head. “You mean to tell me...Y-you killed Johnny?”
Yuta nodded. “Why, yes...Slit the bastard’s tire before he left the restaurant. Followed him home. Made sure Girlfriend Number Two was going up to her apartment and I got him right where I wanted him…”
“Yuta…” You couldn’t believe what he was saying. This had to be some cruel joke. And the fact that he was being so specific with these details meant that he wasn’t lying.
“So, yes, y/n, I killed Johnny and I ground him up. No evidence of that bastard’s existence is left now…And do you want to know why?”
You cried. “Yuta, stop it.”
Yuta wiped the tears from your eyes. “Because we ate him. You and me, y/n…”
You gasped in horror. You sobbed as you backed away from Yuta. “You’re a fucking liar, Yuta. Stop it!”
Yuta sighed. “Why should I stop there? That scumbag, Mr. Fox? Remember the day we made the sweetest love in the kitchen? And we had ‘steak’?”
“Yuta, no!” You fell to the floor. “Stop it! I am begging you.”
“You need to know the truth, y/n…”
You shook your head. “You killed them...And you killed Scott.”
“Ding ding! We have a winner!” Yuta rejoiced.
“You’re crazy…” You cried out.
Yuta’s smile faded as quickly as it came. “Y/n, you don’t mean that. You love me. Just as I love you. I’ve loved you since the moment we met…”
You cried harder. “Yuta…”
Yuta got onto the floor with you. “I did it all for you, y/n. So you could be free from them all.”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. Yuta was a murderer and...you couldn’t even think the word...
And you...you ate their remains...Johnny’s...Mr. Fox’s...and…
You looked up at the plate of spaghetti and meatballs and came to another realization. You ran into the bathroom and threw up in the toilet.
You gagged and coughed as you held your hair back.
You’d just eaten Scott’s remains.
Your world was crashing down on you. Yuta, the love of your life, killed three people. And that was only accounting for the people you knew. You had no idea what his past was really like. Yuta cut them up, ground them up, did everything a butcher would do with their body parts. Yuta fed them to you. He ate them knowingly and unapologetically.
And the worst part?
You enjoyed every morsel…
And you craved more.
Yuta entered the bathroom and held your hair back for you as he caressed your back. “There, there…”
Tears from vomiting ran down your cheeks. “Yuta...You really shouldn’t have done those things…”
“Do you really mean that, y/n? Johnny made a fool out of you and lied to you. He humiliated you and he didn’t stop his new girlfriend from insulting you. He was scum. Mr. Fox was the most vile of them all. He touched you without consent. Rapists should perish from the moment they think of touching someone...At least, give me that much, sweets…”
As disturbing as everything Yuta had said sounded, you couldn’t help but agree with him.
“And Scott...You wished to make him go away...And your wish is my command, my angel.”
You got up from the toilet and flushed the contents down. You went to the sink and brushed your teeth. All the while, Yuta watched you.
“Y/n...The consumption of human flesh has been a custom in my family for generations...These days, we can’t just pick and choose our victims. We must have an honorable reason to kill them. You gave me three victims. A feast. It’s what sustains me, y/n…”
You spat the toothpaste out of your mouth and swished your mouth with some mouthwash. “You...you’re serious?”
“I need to consume human flesh at least once a year or I will die, y/n...Why do you think my parents died so young?”
You thought about it. “They gave up on human flesh?”
Yuta nodded somberly. “I don’t want to die, y/n. Now that I’ve met you, I can’t afford to…”
“But why did you feed them to me?” You asked.
“To absorb their power. To move on,” he said, “It’s my family’s belief that once you ingest the meat of your enemy that you will overcome the barrier that they’ve created for you.”
You stood there, silent. You were afraid of what he would probably bring up next.
“You enjoyed it, didn’t you?” He asked, finally.
You averted your gaze and stared at the sink. “I...did.”
Yuta met your eyes through the mirror. “I know, y/n...And there’s nothing to be ashamed of. Not with me.”
Tears escaped your eyes. Yuta was right. It’d felt...amazing. Empowering. And each of them were the best meals you’d ever had…
“Yuta?” You started.
“Yes, darling?”
“Never keep anything from me again,” you commanded.
_______
It had been a year since the news broke out over Scott’s disappearance. Johnny and Mr. Fox’s missing person cases had gone cold.
Since Scott was out of the picture, your mom had a mental break and was admitted into a rehabilitation facility. She is continually seeking treatment and is turning away visitors. She wrote you a letter, reflecting on her past mistakes and how she’d failed you as a mother. She apologized profusely and promised you that she would try to be sober.
And that’s all you’d ever hoped for from her. You knew that it would be a difficult journey. But the desire for change was the first step in the right direction. And you had a feeling your mom was going to succeed.
You married Yuta. Your father gave you away at the wedding. You were happy. You and Yuta traveled the world together. You had adopted two rescue dogs. To your friends and family, you and Yuta were the dream.
When you’d returned from your honeymoon, Yuta had bought a house for you two to start a family together. The first night in your new house, Yuta bred you.
You two laid in bed together. Yuta hugged you and asked, “So, has anyone screwed you over recently?”
You laughed. “Nope. Sucks for you, doesn’t it?”
He rolled his eyes and nipped at your ear. “A Nakamoto man’s gotta eat, y/n...Any ideas?”
You nuzzled into his neck. “You can always eat me.”
Yuta got a hard on at those words. “You’re too sweet for me to eat. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, y/n…”
You traced your fingers down his happy trail and asked. “Well, we can go hunting this week. I’m sure there’s some privileged college fuckboy that is beyond redemption…”
“You know what, y/n? There’s so many things I love about you but it’s your optimism that gets me hot.”
“Oh yeah?” You teased as you kissed him.
“I love you,” Yuta said between kisses.
“I love you, too,” you replied.

Movie Night (Shayna Baszler x Rhea Ripley x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Movie nights were a staple of your relationship with Rhea and Shayna. Back in the indies with Rhea, the two of you would always make sure to have them whenever you were traveling together. When Shayna was brought into your relationship, she helped to set a weekly night for them. Every Tuesday night was movie night for the three of you and this week it was Rhea’s turn.
Whenever it was Rhea’s turn, you could count on the movie being a horror film or something Japanese. If it was possible, she’d pick a Japanese horror film.  You knew that Rhea did this both because she enjoyed horror films, but also because you were a bit of a baby when it came to them. Shayna was a bit nicer about her movie choices. They were either action movies or something incredibly geeky and adorable like Star Wars.
“Y/n, you might wanna lay in the middle tonight,” Rhea said as she picked out the movie. It looked sort of familiar, but you couldn’t remember what the English version was called. You did remember watching it with Rhea and having nightmares for the next couple of days.
“Is this really a good idea?” Shayna asked and Rhea shrugged. “She’ll get nightmares again.”
“Don’t pretend that you don’t like holding her afterwards either,” Rhea said and Shayna couldn’t argue with her logic. “But Y/n, if you don’t want to watch this one it’s fine.”
“Tonight is your choice, so we’ll watch what you want to,” you told Rhea and she nodded. You got yourself settled in between your girlfriends and Rhea started the movie. It was definitely scarier than the last one and you spent most of it with your head buried in the crook of Shayna’s neck as you tried not to see anything too scary. After about an hour of it, Rhea got up and turned the movie off.
“What do you wanna watch?” Rhea asked as she pulled you away from Shayna. You frowned at her, but she just leaned in and kissed it away. “Shayna and I can finish this later.”
“Just pick something else out babe,” you said and Rhea switched over to the Hulu and put on Dragon Ball. It wasn’t a movie, but you definitely weren’t scared during the anime show. Also, you got to see Rhea completely entranced by something which was adorable to you. You weren’t sure how many episodes Rhea and Shayna watched together, but when you woke up, Shayna was spooning you in her sleep and Rhea was running her fingers through your hair as she watched the show.
“Go back to sleep,” Rhea said and you reached for the remote. You turned off the TV and then Rhea settled down next to you. Once Rhea was laying down, she pulled Shayna’s arm so that she could hold the older wrestler’s hand. You let Rhea give you a kiss goodnight before you fell back asleep with both of your girls with you.

Rating Anime I've watched Based Solely on if I'd Watch it Around my White Christian Dad (Plus my own personal rating too)
Attack on Titan - 0/10 he hates anything animated :/ plus he hates the military. My rating: 3/10 music is great, and I liked the first season, but I read the manga and it got really sus
Fullmetal Alchemist 03 - 0/10 again my dad hates animation. He'd get confused about there being two versions of 'the same show'. My rating: 4/10 I watched this one first and out of order on YouTube, made it really confusing
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - 0/10 he hates animation and the military. My rating: 10/10 I loved this series so much when I was younger and I still love it now
Kill la Kill - -1000/10 he would disable the internet on sight. One thing he has going for him is that he ain't a creep. My rating: 9/10 again, loved it so much, but I always feel like I'm having a fever dream when I'm watching so that's where that last point went
Akame ga Kill - 0/10 my dad hates gore, the most violence he tolerates is Star Trek TNG. My rating: 6/10 I enjoyed it, but the gore seemed almost too much at times, distracted from the story
Sailor Moon - 3/10 my sister did it with the original English Dub and he didn't mind, but he did say it was too feminine for him. My rating: 7/10 I love Haruka she's my style icon but my sister and I did watch the original English Dub first, it tainted my view :/
Seven Deadly Sins - -10/10 he hates animation, and he'd rant to me about Elizabeth's design. My rating: 7/10 I'm not caught up at all, but I do remember loving the music and Diane I hope she's doing well <3
Sword Art Online - 0/10 my dad loves video games, though he only likes shooters and civ games. And he hates animation. My rating: -100000/10 I vibes with like the first few episodes but oh boy did that change. Asuna before she got nerfed was attractive to 12 y/o me ngl
Blue Exorcist - 0/10 my dad willingly became Christian this man loves god too much for this, and he hates animation. My rating: 9/10 it's super great and I love that little cat dude so much
My Hero Academia - 0/10 my dad hates animation. Also we saw Captain Marvel and Deadpool 2 together and he slept through both. Not a superhero fan. My rating: 6/10 I don't like Deku as much as the other characters so watching is an effort. Love the "background" characters, especially Jirou
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - 1/10 he would hate it but he listens to all the music it references so he may actually remember the names. My rating: 7/10 again with the fever dream thing. I read the manga too, and I simp hard for Jolyne. Yes, I'm a lesbian, its in my nature I love her
Hunter x Hunter - 0/10 I think he'd vibe with leorio or what's his name for like an episode but then he'd hate him :/ My rating: 6/10 I only watched like 6 episodes and I did like it I just got distracted by something else I wanna try watching again tho
Gurren Lagann - 0/10 same reasoning as Kill la Kill. My rating: 6/10 they killed off my favourite character a few episodes in and wouldn't let my homegirl be happy
Soul Eater - 0/10 he hates animation and he is a church man. My rating: 10/10 I rewatch this all the time, I even like the dub, great show
Pop Team Epic - 0/10 he's low-key racist and low-key homophobic he'd find a way to ruin it. My rating: 7/10 I love those funky bitches so much
Ouran High School Host Club - -10/10 he's low-key homophobic he'd hate those boys so much plus he hates animation and anything that isn't Sci-fi. My rating: 7/10 it was cute and fun I guess, no complaints here but once was enough
-
Feel free to recommend anime for me I need new stuff to watch and I feel like tastes have not evolved since I was 14, which was when I was at my peak anime watching (I'm 18 currently)
This was mostly a joke my dad would never watch anime with me. I tried to play Breath of the Wild on the TV while he was there and he made some very anti-Japanese comments :/ this was just me venting and talking about anime

Yugioh S3 Ep 31: Joey’s Dead (Again)
Ah, it is 5 billion degrees and working has been pretty much impossible, so, lets turn on Netflix and...
Tumblr media
Thanks, Netflix.
Anyways, time to go see Joey get destroyed by a bird. On screen. This traumatic as hell kid’s show.
Tumblr media
Now, usually this kid’s show is very...kid’s show in quality. The animation has exactly what it needs for most children and teens to feel satisfied--and that’s absolutely fine. You don’t have to make everything look like My Hero Academia, youknow? They were not looking for an award.
But this episode, the one where Joey freakin dies, they decided to bring out their A team. This is the best looking episode of Yugioh that I’ve seen so far, and it was freakin shocking how much better the quality was. Like, I dunno what weird blood sacrifice they did to make this episode looks so freakin good, but kudos to them, everything is more fluid, the shots are composed in a really interesting way, and for once, they actually spend the time to let these characters...react to stuff.
The big twist in Yugioh, at least for me, is when it randomly decides to be quality. It doesn’t happen all (most of) the time, but occasionally, Yugioh will just take a quality swing at me and it’s like “the hell was THAT?” Not that this episode is the best animated episode of anything ever made, it still doesn’t hold a candle to shows that are made in order to be beautiful--but for Yugioh, who’s purpose was never to be pretty (point of fact, Bakura’s hair) and who’s main purpose is to sell freakin playing cards...this is a damn pretty episode.
They just loved Joey that much I guess.
Anyway, onward for what is also the most melodramatic episode of Yugioh I’ve seen. This episode is kind of a gem. I cannot believe I just watched an episode on this show about cards where 3/4 of it was just so many boys full on ugly sobbing into their friend’s comatose body.
(read more under the cut)
Tumblr media
Serenity, this small dot in the next cap here, has only made it to.....this part of the island. She has to now run up like 2 miles of tower. Just remember this fact for later.
Tumblr media
Yo so...this is a stupid adult question but like who is paying for the healthcare on all these kids in this tourney? Is it just Kaiba? Is Kaiba footing the bill? I mean, it’s a kid’s show so we’ll pretend that hospitals are free (and in Japan it’s like Universal but kinda inbetween, so I’ve heard, so this would be less of a deal) but as an adult American every time they’re in a hospital scene I’m just imagining how crazy that GoFundMe campaign page would look like.
But, as Serenity starts climbing up this monalith, on the roof of said tower, Joey is at max anime. For the first time ever, his hair is drawn as like separate hairs and not as just some weird backwards anteater tail he wears on his head. And youknow what? Joey has a hellton of hair. Your hair has to be realllly long and full to do an anteater and I don’t give him enough credit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so after all that, Joey’s like...still up.
Tumblr media
(I mean this is as far as I know, I don’t have Jump Force)
Remember how Yugi stood in front of one single fireball so that Joey wouldn’t take one for Mai? Now that we’ve seen how Joey was still standing after bird fire tornado--he...probably would’ve been fine with the fireball. Just conjecture, but I feel like Joey, despite not having any connection to a millennium item, is some sort of escaped X-men.
And then, like everyone on this show is wont to do, he just randomly hallucinates Yugi. What’s great about this episode is that Joey will hallucinate Yugi not once, but twice. (which will come later)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, this “Oh yeaaaaaahhhhh” was a super fluid animation that I might just lift because it was so freakin wild. Like it was kind of terrifying how fluid it was. In anime they tend to freelance out different clips to different animators, so they aren’t really all working in the same studio (which is why often anime will have reallllly nice animation in some parts, and then less in others, while in US studios where everyone works on everything, there’s less of that) But whoever got the Joey saying “Oh yeaaaaaaahhhh” scene must’ve been like “this is it, this is my big break” and spent like half a day making it as fluid as they could compared to everything else going on.
Tumblr media
They also had enough time for Yugi to partially disrobe for some reason. I guess it looked cool.
Tumblr media
Please contrast the twinkly lights and the shimmer sound effect with what follows it:
Tumblr media
It’s at this point that Seto Kaiba actually starts to doubt this whole tourney, but not for the reason a normal person would doubt a tourney that has had several apocalypses and mass-murderers involved in it.
Tumblr media
Kaiba was Extremely Upset about this revelation.
Anyway, Since Joey is still standing, he pulls a card, realizes it can kill Marik, slaps it on the duel disk, the monster shows up on the field, and--Kaiba either has the fastest elevator in the world, or Serenity runs a 3 minute mile because, guess who made it to the top of this tower of Babel?
That’s right, supportive Sister, here to walk Joey through the hard arduous task of basically pressing “enter” on your keyboard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
RIP again, Joey, RIP again. I mean it’s hard to get too wrapped up in it because I know he already died...this morning...like two hours ago. Like basically he got turned into stone for a bit, and then after coming back to life, took a nap on the blimpjet and then arrived at this island to die yet again. Joey Wheeler has just had such a very intense couple of days and desperately needs a nap.
But, game wise, Joey played a monster, it was on the field--what else would he have done with it???
But because he didn’t say a word loud enough for other people to hear, this didn’t count???
This game is so weird about what rules it decides are binding and which are loosey goosey. There’s absolutely no time limit, you can strap the other person to a weird wall device and throw fireballs at their face, you can sap their life energy with weird fiber optic cables, but if you don’t say the word “Attack” although the monster card is in Attack position--it doesn’t count? There’s nothing else on the field to hit but Marik himself. There’s literally nothing else Joey would have done with that card. He totally won this match but whatever, it’s Yugioh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And lets give it up for the one and only adult in the room, everybody. Good Job, Roland. Good freakin job.
I get that he’s a butler/pilot/card referee/bodyguard, but who else is freakin there to parent any of these teens? Ishizu? Is that all we have left?
Sorry, I’ve thought more about Roland and his mysterious dodgy character than the people who made this show.
Anyway, it’s at this point that Mokuba decided to climb stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, this episode has so many weird animation details that say a lot about the characters--and I’m just not used to this much love and care.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So another wild thing about this episode--I didn’t realize that Joey was even Shadow Realmed when I watched it through. This episode is super vague when it comes to Joey. Everyone is mourning as if he had died, and so for me, the first time watcher (as well as my Bro who saw it once when he was 13), I just assumed this is because they finally got a completely different but very good animation team on this episode. I just figured this was someone high up saying “maybe you should have the characters realistically react to at least a single death on this show where 183 people have died”
But, turns out this is actually a translation error. Because, in the Japanese version, Joey just freakin stopped breathing or something? In the English version that we’re watching, Joey is just in a coma, and it’s a rather pleasant coma (yet still my definition of a death). But, the reason everyone is reacting like...how they should have reacted the previous 182 times, is because Joey was actually legally dead.
Something they censored out to keep the show mystifyingly Y-7 although...I think I’ve said this a million times, but don’t give this show to your 7 year old. Going off of what my Nephews and Nieces like, Yugioh is a pretty far cry from PJ Masks and Monster High.
Anyway, the show goes totally all out, and everyone does a 150% more than what is ever necessary grief cry, and I think the best cry goes to Tristan although Yugi attempted really hard to steal the gold. Thing about Yugi’s grieving is that he was going more for quantity over quality, but they did a really brutal close zoom on Tristan going through the stages of Grief (mostly anger) and it was like...unexpected for a Yugioh episode y’all. I’ve never seen Tristan go that hard...ever. Tristan is usually kind of tertiary but he just came out of nowhere to scream directly at my face and I was not expecting it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this episode does something that I like, although it was kind of unusual for Pharaoh and Yugi--and it shows us how they react in a completely opposite way to the same traumatic event. They’ll both get around to crying but Pharaoh will take his time.
Also, we’ve seen indication of Pharaoh’s inward grief before - and it’s something they usually say but don’t show - but this is the first time they’ve actually showed that Pharaoh tends to bottle everything deep, deep down. He’s got maybe a lot of feelings about being a ghost who doesn’t have a body or a history or...anything, and him bottling up Yugi (since Yugi isn’t going to come out for the rest of this episode) is sort of a proof that he’s used to bottling everything.
Cuz outwardly, he’s just like this (and kudos to the art team for leaving a spot where Yugi’s spirit is currently crying over the corpse/coma victim)
Tumblr media
And then meanwhile, Kaiba just has no idea what planet he’s even on. Remember that in the Japanese version, Joey freakin died in Seto’s own tournament. This would be a PR disaster, but does Kaiba...know?
Tumblr media
(Yes, I keep a draft file that is just every single death so I can keep track of them, and this is the 4th time that Joey has died)
Then this doctor shows up, which is surprising, because I figured Marik knocked this guy out and stuffed him in a broom closet last season. But nah, it’s the same doctor, he’s back. This poor doctor who keeps having to tend Shadow Realm patients while every single person on this blimp is in the same little hospital room with him, just breathing down his neck.
Tumblr media
Speaking of, if this doctor has been here this entire time, then why did Serenity just stay directly by Mai’s side?
They have a doctor.
Anyway, originally I thought I’d make this two parts but like...nah, we’ll just have a really long post.
Lets see how Joey’s Shadow Realm is (which, again, it is super unclear if he is or isn’t, and from when I polled you guys it looked like it was sort of like a “don’t think about it” situation of whether this is a dream of Joey’s, or the Shadow Verse)
I’ve made the joke before that you can tell it’s a dream when they’re at school but...we’re back at school. It’s the only time we see Joey in his school uniform.
Tumblr media
Thirsty preteens rejoice, they finally removed Joey from his baggy pajama shirt that he’s been stuck in for 2 seasons. Like, do you think when Kaiba was looking at public schools, he saw that this school had not only crazy card people, but also freakin nuts shoulder pads and he just slammed that “enroll” button?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So...does Yugi KNOW that everyone else dreams about him on a regular basis? Like, does he KNOW? I figure Yugi just has sort of a weird tick related to the puzzle that makes it so people are seeing him, but Yugi has no idea that he’s got an inception method ability, right?
And especially since this is kind of a magic-onset dream, and Yugi really wants to save Joey, it sort of almost looks like Yugi is doing this maybe latently through the puzzle? But...probably not. I don’t really know what’s happening here, other than Joey’s just gonna go peace out and play this confusing card game for eternity.
That would be my Shadow Realm.
Tumblr media
Back at our homeslice, Blimpjet, Seto has sent his little brother to deliver all of the bad news for him, knowing that Mokuba is too cute for anyone to do anything about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so Mokuba decides to radio a helicopter to save him because he’s a Kaiba and doesn’t realize that planes/boats exist. Good to see that Mokuba has finally decided to embrace his job as Battle City Commissioner and figure out a solution to transporting/hiding all these bodies.
Honestly, I’m just shook that this blimpjet is not a blimpjetboat.
Tumblr media
Bro told me that in the Japanese version, Tristan just straight up punches Joey right near this scene, and like...that’s probably true. Bro has a lot of spicy headcanons but I can see this show doing that. (bro note: that might have been an earlier Joey coma).
Knowing that, it makes this kind of more funny because Yugi is so absorbed in The Crying that I guess he didn’t notice that whole thing go down with Tristan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess they wanted a throwback to S1, but this episode is so extra that Yugi very nearly stops playing cards. Nearly. He’s still gonna play cards, but I guess as a symbol to show that he’s starting to give into just not playing this game anymore, Pharaoh actually takes this weird contraption off his arm.
To do so he has to like remove the battery or something. I didn't even realize what he was doing because it was so un-intuitive, but you have to pull out this 4 inch battery from the back in order to remove the disk.
Can you imagine!???? Can you imagine wearing this thing in real life and shoving a 4 inch 2 lb battery in and out of this hulking thing every time you had to use the toilet?
Which...I guess they haven’t been, right? Like I shouldn’t go down that avenue but like...they haven’t been, right? There are just so many germs on this disk.
Tumblr media
And so Pharaoh decides it’s finally time to lose it, maybe because Yugi wants to give up cards, or maybe because there’s no one else around so it’s finally fine for him to shed a masculine tear or two, but it took him I want to say like 20 more minutes than Yugi to finally react to all this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then this happens?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, remember Ishizu’s Millennium Necklace (not to be confused with the Millennium Puzzle with is also a Necklace, which Yugi also has, but he only wears one, because he just doesn’t feel like wearing 2 chokers at once, I guess)
Apparently the reason that Yugi was given the necklace was to get this one vision of the future. Get ready for it, the entire fate of the world rested on Pharaoh getting this one vision.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, the answer was indeed, cards.
Tumblr media
On the other end of the blimpjet, Mokuba I guess got tired of Roland’s poor radio skills and has decided to use the radio himself while Roland kind of just stands there and waves his arms around.
Tumblr media
Straight up, does Mokuba have a Ham license? Are the Kaiba’s Hams? So like, Bro and I made Ham radio parts as a part time out of college and while I don’t have a license, it just really intrigues me that these boys do and I really wonder if they ever check into the emergency net and do Ham contesting when they aren’t throwing cards around. Ham people are like...really into their rigs so if you had Kaiba money, your rig would reach the curvature of the Earth.
Also, I kinda just assumed that they’re still in Japan, since Japan has a lot of islands connected to it, and the Kaiba Island does look man-made, but...is it not? Why place this factory in the middle of nowhere if you aren’t actually building a merc-for-hire program like Metal Gear? Like I know we just talked about how Gozobura Kaiba was basically Big Boss, but like...was this island made by Master Miller? Why is it in the middle of the ocean???
Big Boss had a reason to build in the sea, because he didn’t actually align with a country, so he had to be in international waters, but Gozobura Kaiba’s company is Japanese, so why go through all the trouble of--whatever I shouldn’t think about it.
So yeah, they’re too far away to radio to Japan although...that doesn’t make sense to me since why would you build a manufacturing plant so far away from your biggest buyer? But plot. Plot reasons, it had to happen this way.
And then this scene happened and it was...SO MUCH.
THIS WAS SO MUCH.
THIS SCENE WAS JUST SO FREAKIN AWKWARD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like it may not come through with the caps but this scene was made up to be extremely serious. The music was swelling, Pharaoh was pausing by Joey’s bedside as if to give a speech. The writers were expecting tears to come out of my face when Pharaoh did..........this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wʜᴏ ᴡʀᴏᴛᴇ ᴛʜɪs.
Tumblr media
Y’all I was DYING.
I had to stop the episode and just like...recover. We had to rewind so I could watch this scene twice. I could not stop laughing at the idea that the writers were like “lets take this very serious and heavy content and then make it super emotional and meaningful by SLAPPING A DUEL DISK ON IT.”
And what makes this scene even better is that like--barely anyone said ANYTHING after Pharaoh did this. He waltzed in there, did this insane thing, and then just waltzed out as if this was completely normal.
What the hell!?!?
And so while I am kind of reeling from Pharaoh just slapping a duel disk onto Joey like it’s a badge of honor and Joey was shot in the line of duty, suddenly--out of nowhere--Tea felt like reminding us that many episodes ago it was super hinted that these two might actually be approaching a relationship.
Tumblr media
And so Tea decides to beg Yugi to stop and stay behind as if she’s a wife watching her husband like march off to the front lines or something. It was so melodramatic and just came out of NO WHERE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thankfully, as is this show’s custom, every time it looks like this ship might happen, every other available boy on the show must appear out of nowhere to cockblock the situation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This episode is a lot of watching Pharaoh try his best to navigate a bunch of very delicate and intense social situations and he does so with the elegance and sensitivity of a bologna sandwich.
Tumblr media
This shot of Kaiba on top of the tower ps was so freakin rediculous. This show just knows what it is and goes for it. Completely unashamed. I think that’s what I like most about anime--it has absolutely no shame to just be...waaaay too much.
...why THIS episode? Who was it that worked overtime for months and months just to make this one Yugioh episode look so shiny and nice?
Tumblr media
And so the episode ends there, and probably all the character development we’ll have for the rest of the season. I cannot believe they gave me that much content in one episode. Damn.
I’m assuming next episode will be entirely cards and I’ll have like 5 caps of content.
Anyway if you just got here, this is a handy link to read these from the beginning.

Are The Names In Anime Originally Japanese Or English?  It All Depends On What You Grew Up With
I am making this post to explain what I have observed from the English-speaking community.
We know many people really like anime, right?  We grew up with shows like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sonic X, Digimon Adventures, the Transformers Unicron Trilogy, and for much older fans, Voltron, Robotech, Star Blazers, and Battle Of The Planets.  The only thing is, these shows, originally in the Japanese language, were dubbed in English because many marketers didn’t think people in America, Canada, or any other English-speaking country would enjoy a foreign show, even if it had English subtitles.  The only problem is, many anime shows targeted to younger fans (mainly children) were heavily censored and the dialogue was changed to make it more family-friendly.  The upside is, if companies like World Events Productions and 4Kids Entertainment did not dub the shows, we wouldn’t be able to access the original shows with English subtitles, and we can fully understand how Japanese media differ from American, Canadian, or English media.
Anyway, I remember when I was younger watching bits and pieces of Robotech (a mesh of the Super Dimension Fortress Macross trilogy) with my father, who had it on VHS.  Then I remember watching a few episodes and movies of Pokemon a little later after I witnessed Robotech.  I also remember going to a now-defunct video store where Sonic X was playing (before I even knew the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise).  They all shared one thing in common; they were all in the English language.  And as I have seen the shows, I noticed at times the mouths do not match the dialogue; and I never understood why the animation was different from media like Disney, Don Bluth, or the Loony Tunes.
I did not know what anime really is until I was in middle school and high school.  I didn’t even understand the ‘fetish’ of such design.  That is, until I witnessed a few girls watching the original Sailor Moon anime in English subtitles.  As I viewed a few scenes, I noticed the characters’ mouths matched the language being spoken; and the tone was more serious and less silly like most Western cartoon shows.  Not to mention, most characters look more realistic, such as having five fingers instead of four.
And then I got curious with original Japanese anime shows (back in the olden days, anime was called Japanimation, and later was respectfully called anime), and I came across a mecha show called Beast King Golion (the original show for Voltron: Defender Of The Universe).  I watched a few episodes with English subtitles, and I noticed how dark it was compared to American children’s shows (they show blood, death, real-life situations that adults can understand, and they swear too, usually saying words like “hell,” “damn,” “crap,” “bastard,” “bitch,” and the occasional “s**t”).  Then I saw Voltron, and I noticed how much the dub changed the whole plot of the anime; violence was toned down, hardly any blood on screen, no swear words, somewhat poor voice acting with a few exceptions, and even the characters’ names were different.  The only good qualities I see in Voltron was, of course, the name of the titular mech, and the kickass soundtrack of the 1980′s.
Later, as I look up different anime clips with English subtitles, I wondered if the characters speak English in the original version; and sure enough, there were clips that showed just that (it was awesome, funny, and bizarre; or even both or all three at the same time).  What took me by surprise is that there was a Sonic X clip where Sonic occasionally throws in English in the original language.  I didn’t even KNOW there was a Sonic The Hedgehog anime, and that threw me off in a good way.  I started watching a few episodes with English subtitles, and then compared them to the English dubbed episodes; the original is the winner!  And that was how I became a Sonic The Hedgehog fan, along with the Shadow The Hedgehog (2005) and the Sonic ‘06 games.
And then, interestingly, I discovered Pocket Monsters (the original Pokemon series) when I was browsing for more anime.  I noticed how the main character, Ash Ketchum, had a different name, Satoshi, but they were the same character; they just happened to have different names in different languages.  I was used to the name Ash, but I gradually started to like the name Satoshi even more, because it is the original show in its original language.
I have been a fan of Transformers ever since I watched the live action films by Michael Bay.  It isn’t until The Transformers (1984-1987) and The Transformers: The Movie (1986) in which I started to like the Generation One (G1) Transformers because they originated in the 1980′s (which I really like, even though I wasn’t existent yet back in the day).  I have many characters I like; my favorite Autobot is Ironhide, who was a black truck in the 2007 live action film, and a red van in the G1 version.  Both of these incarnations share similar traits; Ironhide is just an awesome robot, he is trigger-happy (especially in the live action film), has a deep and gruff voice, is funny at times, is stubborn on a few things, and simply makes me smile; and in the live-action film’s case, my father owns a truck, and one of my favorite colors is black (just like KITT from the 1982 show, Knight Rider).  I was disheartened by his death by the traitorous Sentinel Prime in Dark Of The Moon (2011), and at the hands of Megatron in the 1986 movie.  And my favorite Decepticon is Starscream; who doesn’t love a backstabbing fighter jet anyways?
Now, I am sure you are probably asking, “what does this have to do with anime?”  Well, I had the realization many months ago that Transformers Armada, Energon, and Cybertron (which all make up the Unicron Trilogy) were all anime series; so I looked each of them up in AnimeNewsNetwork, starting with Armada.  (I wanted to check out the shows because I heard from many fans how this incarnation of Starscream subverts the traitorous role, and how he was the most likeable Decepticon in the whole series)  The site shows the Japanese cast first, since it is the original language, and I was happy to see that Ironhide was there, as well.  But, when I looked at the English cast, I couldn’t see the name anywhere.  Interestingly, the Japanese credits called Optimus Prime Convoy, so maybe in Armada, this particular Autobot was not called Ironhide.  And sure enough, when I started watching the show in English subtitles (the original is called Micron Legend), I was mostly right.  What took me by surprise is that this Ironhide was not an old Autobot like many traditional Ironhides from the G1 and the Bayformers films, but a young Decepticon missile tank.  Starscream is not the only Transformer to subvert the original roles of past incarnations.  Apparently, this is the only Transformers continuation where Ironhide is a Decepticon.  However, he shared many traits with his G1 counterpart as well; he is tough like how he should be, is funny (and surprisingly cute, not very many Ironhides is that lovable like this one), is stubborn some of the times, has a deep gruff voice, is trigger-happy (especially if you piss him off or cross Megatron in front of him), and instantly became a likable Transformer because of those traits; and he had probably the saddest death in the whole Unicron trilogy when I started watching Energon (originally called Superlink).  I was disappointed when Megatron (now called Galvatron) put his abandoned spark into a new, and unattractive, body, and called him Irontread (didn’t stop me from watching the whole anime series because as I watched it futher, it shared many similarities with The Transformers: The Movie, particularly Unicron’s design, and the green helicopter we know as Springer (Japan calls him Sprung; not sure why...); the only thing missing in Superlink is “The Touch”).  Next to Starscream, Ironhide is my favorite Transformer in the whole Unicron Trilogy.  And what was his English dubbed name in Armada?  Demolishor.
Ever since I watched these shows, I started to like them so much, maybe even more so than G1; probably because the Transformers had many human traits (for instance, they grunt and groan in pain more times than G1; oh and some of them actually cry, mainly younger Transformers like Ironhide in Micron Legend and Wing Dagger in Superlink), and was the first time I see them with teeth and different colored optics, instead of the traditional blue and red for the Autobots and Decepticons, respectively.
I notice many Trans-fans know many characters in the Unicron Trilogy by their English names because that was what they grew up with, or were used to seeing.  And whenever someone points out the original names, they would interject, saying something like “its X, not Y!”  (For example, “it’s Jetfire, not Skyfire!”)  However, there are people like me who will point out what the original names are without trying to denigrate mainstream fans.  Then again, I, too, get a little frustrated whenever a fan doesn’t call a character by their original name.  But, if all else fails, I just let them call a character whatever they want to call them, because I cannot change their minds if they are absolutely certain of what the character’s name is, even if it is not their original name.
Then again, even the Japanese dub of the original Transformers shows and movies changed the names of certain characters because they believed it was cooler, easier to pronounce, or they didn’t like the name for some reason.  For example, Optimus Prime was called Convoy, Sideswipe was called Lambor, Bumblebee was called Bumble, Devastator was called Devastor, Shockwave was called Lazerwave, Lazerbeak was called Condor, and Springer was called Sprung.  (And Autobots and Decepticons were called Cybertrons and Destrons, respectively, and the planet Cybertron was called Seibertron.)  In Micron Legend and Superlink, such names were the characters’ original names in the show.
Here are some characters in Micron Legend with their original and dubbed names (the rest not listed kept their names):
- Convoy = Optimus Prime
- Ratchet = Red Alert
- Hot Rod = Hot Shot
- Devastator = Scavenger
- Grap (possibly Grapple?) = Smokescreen/Hoist
- Ironhide = Demolishor
- Sandstorm = Cyclonus
- Silverbolt = Blurr (who is nothing like G1 Blurr at all)
- Doubleface = Sideways
- Wheelie = High Wire
- Bank = Grindor
- Arcee = Sureshock
- Bumble(bee) = Perceptor
- Shockwave = Tidal Wave
- Rampage = Wheeljack
- Stepper = Sideswipe
- Scourge = Nemesis Prime (Scourge’s name was not mentioned in Micron Legend, but that is what was confirmed in AnimeNewsNetwork and other anime sites)
- Megatron (Super Mode) = Galvatron
- Grid = Swindle
- Search = Blackout
- Barrel = Leader-1
- Prime = Sparkplug
- Alexa = Alexis
- Jim = Fred
- Amphitrite = not even given a name!
Here are the characters in Superlink, along with a few characters from Micron Legend (Armada):
- Grand Convoy = Optimus Prime
- Skyfire = Jetfire (I don’t know what happened to Jetfire and Hot Rod from Micron Legend; maybe they were reformatted without further explanation, replaced with newer characters, or the creators fixed Jetfire’s name to Skyfire and Hot Rod was so damaged that he had to be reformatted and was called Hot Shot, or according to some sites, matured into Hot Shot)
- Inferno V = Roadblock
- Roadbuster = Ironhide (who looked and acted nothing like the Ironhide I am so familiar with; is very unlikeable, compared to Roadbuster, who IS more likeable; and it is quite amusing to see two Ironhides fighting each other in Episode 10, with the one speaking English and the one speaking Japanese; there must be a crack fic about this somewhere...)
- Rodimus Convoy = Rodimus Prime (he was called Rodimus Convoy in the Japanese dub of G1)
- Red Alert = Prowl
- Airglide = Skyblast
- Blastarm = Strongarm
- Ariel = Arcee
- Springer = Bulkhead
- Overdrive = Cliffjumper
- Wheeljack = Downshift
- Galvatron (before recoloration) = Megatron (in Superlink, he explicitly said, “call me Galvatron-sama,” and he looked like his G1 counterpart as well)
- Nightscream = Starscream (since Starscream was killed by Unicron in Micron Legend after he used up all his energy from his spark, which is presumed destroyed.  Yeah, sadly, Starscream never came back in Superlink; although Nightscream looks a lot like G1 Starscream even more than Armada Starscream)
- Mega-Zarak = Scorponok (G1 Scorponok’s Japanese dub name was Mega-Zarak; not sure why the creators called him that, though...)
- Sandstorm/Snowstorm = Cyclonus/Snow Cat
- Ironhide/Irontread = Demolishor/still Demolishor (what, no cooler name like Devastator, Basher, Groundcrusher or Destructor for his new body?)
- Shockwave/Shockfleet = Tidal Wave/Mirage
- Lazerwave = the real Shockwave (in Energon, he is called Shockblast, which I think is silly, so I will call him Lazerwave for Superlink’s sake)
- Buildron = Constructicon Maximus (note that Buildron is the Japanese dub name for Constructicon in G1)
- Bruticus = Bruticus Maximus
- Superion = Superion Maximus
- Superion’s brother = Dauntless Maximus (I will call him Dauntless)
- Alexa = Alexis
I have not seen Galaxy Force as often as Micron Legend and Superlink, but I will list a few characters that I can remember with the sub and dub names respectively:
- Galaxy Convoy = Optimus Prime
- Dreadrock = Jetfire
- Guardshell = Landmine
- Demolishor = Mudflap
- Sonic Bomber = Wing Saber
- First Aid = Red Alert
- Nitro Convoy (male) = Override (female)
- Exillion = Hot Shot
- Chromia = Thunderblast (yes, Chromia, usually an Autobot’s name, is a Decepticon in Galaxy Force)
- Noisemaze = Sideways
- Metroplex = Megalo Convoy (I don’t really know his name; that is what I got from some sources when I was trying to find out what this Transformer’s name was)
Anyways, since I saw the original versions, it can be really difficult for me to refer them to the English dubbed names so many fans can understand what I am saying.  I am sure others feel the same way as well.
Well, that is all I will be saying so far.  I will post more blogs, pictures, and memes when I have the time.
This is FirebirdTransAm68 signing out.

Baby Don’t Stop | Nine
Baby Don’t Stop | Lucas X Reader | Idol!AU | “After I first saw you, I got a feeling that I needed no other reason. Like magic, I felt each hundredth of a second. For every detailed one minute, all of my nerves are on edge... I want to get to know you.”
Purple = Japanese
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You didn’t understand it. Why? After four years! Why had she contacted you?
Had she spoken with Wooseok? Had he told her just how broken you had been when you two had first met? And why didn’t he tell you she was a trainee at Cube?
Maybe it was to protect you. He had expressed his disgust countless times after he found out just how broken you were... it had to be that. Protecting you.
You know that if you had known sooner you probably would’ve marched into Cube to pick a fight. And you couldn’t do that to her, even after all she had done to you.
Maybe meeting with her was your one way to get closure.
Maybe.
And as you sat, ten minutes early, you contemplated leaving. What if you couldn’t do it? What if you could face her? After four long years...
It was too late. Five minutes before the set time the door to the cafe chimes signaling another customer entering. You eyes immediately make contact with the familiar, yet strange dark brown eyes you were once so familiar with.
“Hi.” She said breathlessly, a shy smile on her face. Yet you remained stone. Cold. And unsure of how to feel now that she was actually sitting in front of you. “Do you still drink the same thing? Earl Grey? With a little bit of cream and two sugars?”
Your eyes widened in shock, clenched jaw slacking as she giggled at your expression. “I remember. How could I not? It was like your drug when...” she trailed off, noticing your jaw clenching again. “I’ll just go order-“
“Here you go ma’am. One Earl Grey, cream and sugar. And one large iced americano with hazelnut flavoring.” The waiter smiled, bowing and disappearing a moment later.
“You remembered mine?” You nod, stiffly. But still, you finally responded. “Even after I hurt you.”
“What do you want? I didn’t come here for you just waste my time Jaewon.”
“I want to give our friendship another chance. And if I can get you to forgive me then I can get the others to forgive me-“ you scoff.
“So that’s what you want.” You look at her, your arms crossed over your chest, one leg crossed over the other as one heeled boot tapped against the floor. “You don’t even care about me-“
“Don’t say that! I do care! I care about all four of you!”
“Then why did you leave us?” Tear brimming your eyes as you stared at her. “Why did you leave me? I needed you unnie.”
“Debuting was taking too long-“
“And you don’t think I didn’t want to quit? I wanted to give up so much and go back to Osaka! But I didn’t! I made a commitment to Jimin, Jisoo, Hwayoung, and even you! And I held through!”
“I’d been a trainee for seven years.”
“Jisoo trained for ten, Jaewon.” You spat at her, not taking her excuse.
“Well I’m not Jisoo.” You roll your eyes at her response, even when you were friends, her responses were similar during arguments. You hear chimes again, but you can’t even focus as your head begins to hurt.
“And yet here you are,” a third voice enters the mix and you tense even more when you hear your brother speaking. “You’re debuting four years after you left, and three after my sister. So how well did your plan of debuting sooner work?”
Yuta stood over the two of you, eyeing Jaewon.
“I don’t remember inviting you.”
“Well my sister has a concerned boyfriend, something I’m sure you don’t understand either. Just like you don’t understand how much you abandoning my sister killed her.” Yuta grabs your jacket, forcing you to stand as he tugs you toward the door. Once at the door, after forcing your mask over your face and his over his own, he turns to Jaewon again. “Stay the hell away from her.”
Yuta slams the front door to the NCT dorm shut, causing the loud commotion from within to cease. He angrily shoved his coat and shoes off, before storming through to the leaving room trying to get to his bedroom before he was stopped by Taeyong.
“Yuta? What’s going on?”
You had flinched when he shut the door and now you entered the living room quietly as the attention turned from your brother to you. You weren’t expecting all of NCT to be at the 127 dorm, but here they were.
Lucas stood up and went to approach you, but Taeil - a witness to the many Nakamoto sibling fights - held him back, forcing him to sit. Forcing him to watch as you seemingly wanted to make yourself smaller.
“Yuta?” Taeyong asks again, the seasoned mediator of the Nakamoto fights.
“Ask her.” He jerked his head in your direction, glaring as he did so. His gaze softening almost unnoticeably as you flinched.
“Y/N?”
“I met with Jaewon.”
“Not only did you meet with her, you were on the verge of a full blown panic attack!” Your eyes widen, you hadn’t expected him to call you out on your little episode.
The members say quietly, Lucas on edge as he wanted to jump up and defend you from your brother, but he didn’t know what he even said, nor was it his place to say anything at all.
“She said she wanted to talk,” you voice cracked.
“How naive do you have to be?” Yuta laughed, turning on his heel to head down the hallway, shoulders hunched.
You watch him for a moment before following after him, stopping the bedroom door from slamming as you enter and shut it behind you. “You’re supposed to support me!”
“I can’t support you if you continuously go against what I advise!”
“Yuta! You can’t always protect me!” He stayed silent at that. “I know you hate it, but sometimes there are things that I need to learn on my own! You’re not always going to be there to protect me from the scary and bad things that hide from the light. I have to learn to do that myself.”
“I can’t see you like that again. Not the way she left you, it killed me. It killed me to see how broken you were- you’re my baby sister, Y/N. All I want to do is protect you.” He stepped toward you, his arms wrapping around your shoulders and bringing you into his chest.
“I know, Yuta.”
You and Yuta exit his room after a long and serious discussion. Which primarily included you promising to let him know when Jaewon contacted you and for him to allow him to sit in on the meetings.
He had given you some clothes that you had left from previous nights you’d stay with your brother. Both of you in fresh clothes, your makeup removed, and back in a regular routine, you head into the living room.
The amount of members had died down considering Taeyong, Kun, and Doyoung sent the Dreamiest back to their dorm, minus Mark and Donghyuck. So that left the entirety of NCT U and 127.
“Are you two done fighting?” Donghyuck perks his head up. “It got quiet about ten minutes after you disappeared and we assumed that Y/N had killed you, Hyung. I was prepared to help her hide the- STOP!” He takes off running as Yuta begins chasing him, throwing various miscellaneous items at him.
You laugh at them and tip toe over Johnny and Mark, who lay on the floor arguing over something in English, to sit between Taeil and Lucas. Your head hurt, your day had been long, and you were tired. But you knew better than to fall asleep before Johnny or Donghyuck. But yet you couldn’t help the comforting feeling of leaning your head against Lucas, who was dressed comfortably, similar to that of Kun and Jungwoo.
“What are you guys doing, having a sleep over?”
Taeil laughs and you give him a tired smile, “Yeah. Lucas, Kun and Jungwoo are staying over tonight.”
You shift your head to look up at Lucas who hadn’t taken his big brown eyes off of you since you reentered the room. The boy was whipped, your heart sang when you saw the way he looked at you. He moved his arm, causing you sit up, but quickly wrapped it around you prompting you to lean into his chest instead of his shoulder.
His attention was completely drawn from Jungwoo, who smiled at the site of the younger boy being so loving towards you. Jungwoo simply placed his attention on Doyoung and Sicheng, letting you two be.
Lucas pouted at you as you made eye contact again. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“Promise?” You nod, grabbing his free hand and placing a small kiss against his wrist. His ears turn pink, and he simply wondered what it would feel like for your lips to be pressed against his lips instead of his wrist.
That’s right. You two hadn’t kissed yet. He wanted to, but he didn’t want to rush you. He didn’t want to push you into an uncomfortable situation. So he waited, and he would continue to wait until you initiated it or expressed that you wanted him to kiss you.
As the night progressed, you remained wrapped in Lucas’s embrace, neither one of you wanting to leave the other. Movies were played, junk food was eaten. You and Lucas shared a milkshake or two. And each member slowly began to leave to go to be. Starting with the two youngest, followed by the grandpas, Taeil, Kun, and Taeyong.
Doyoung, Johnny, and Jungwoo were the next to leave with Jaehyun, Yuta, and Sicheng.
Soon, it was just you and Lucas. Curled up on the couch, the tv still on with a low hum to simply act as background noise as you two stared at the drama playing but never really paying enough attention to catch what the plot was. The tv the only source of light in the room.
“Y/N?” You shift your head up for the umpteenth time that night. He meets your tired gaze and reaches a hand up to brush your hair out of your face. Your gaze travels down to his lips, and you quickly avert your eyes.
He catches this and smirks, “Why are you acting so shy, baby girl?” You groan and hide your face in his chest. He laughs, his chest shaking and you can hear his heart pounding as it beats faster.
“Can I kiss you?” You mumble into his chest and he takes in a deep breath, ears burning again.
“What was that?”
You sit up and push yourself out his arms but his hand that previously held your shoulder now rested on your knee as you stared at him, your face burning bright red. “Can I kiss you?”
He only nodded his head in response.
You scoot closer to him, hair falling in your face again. He smiles his big cheesy and raises a hand to brush it away again. He leaves his hand to rest against your face as you lift one of your own to cup his cheek.
You lean in, your lips pressing softly against his and your eyes flutter shut. Your first kiss with Lucas was nothing but pure magic.
Okay, that may be a stretch. The minute your lips pressed against his, he turned into a giggly baby laughing loudly, having to pull away and clapping his hands together as he stared at you from behind his bangs which fell into his face and a little behind his glasses.
You pout at him and he giggles loudly again, surely waking someone in the dorm up, but he didn’t care. He sat up, leaning his forearm against the back of the couch and leaning towards you again.
His smile stretching, probably wider than you have ever seen before. “Kiss me again,” he whispered like an excited school girl.
“I barely even kissed you the first time you big baby!” You scold him, but smile as he leans closer to you.
His soft lips meeting yours, this time remaining there as he presses you closer to him, one hand finding your waist and the other you cheek. You hands find his waist as you attempt to pull him closer, only resulting in you nearly falling in his lap. Giggling coming from both of you this time as you break the kiss, only to reconnect seconds later. This time, your eyes had fluttered shut. This time, it was magic.

My experience with the Pokemon fandom part 2
Ok, so I made my fun experience of how I got into Pokemon and what I did in the last 16 years. They were fun topics to cover about. While I mostly covered the positive stuff, I want to extended it a bit here, just to explain about my other part of the fandom, even if it's a place I don't look as often, but it's considerably long enough that it just fits as its own page.
Do I follow the Spanish fandom?
As a matter of fact, I do, but not as often as the English one. I'm not fluent with Spanish, despite being with my family who knows Spanish well enough. Besides that, I do check on the Spanish fandom from time to time, and I mostly follow the Latin American fanbase, but I also pick up a bit on Spain's fandom too. My first time being involved with the Spanish fandom was me going to Costa Rica in late 2005, seeing one of Pokemon Advance Challenge episode, Winona's first introduction. At the time, I laugh at how the Spanish voices are so different, and they can be funny as a kid. It wasn't the first time I had this thought, it was seeing Nickelodeon Latin America when I was in Peru in late 2003, seeing my favorite cartoons. But yeah, also on the same day, I watched Mewtwo Strikes back on that same day after my trip from the airport. It was few hours after the main series from Cartoon Network, and I first saw the first movie alone, in Spanish. I didn't understand what they were saying, but it was still fun to watch and I could kinda see what was going on. I also then saw Pokemon Chronicles there, when it was ongoing there as new episodes, starting with the Gary episode. I saw a couple of them, and I did not even knew that spinoff existed, as it wasn't shown in the US yet back then. Seeing Misty have Luvdisc, and Casey saving a Charizard, and also, Christmas special with Ash and his friends appear faceless for some reason. LOL. I even saw more of it on another trip, and also saw English Dub around the time before another trip. While I had cousins who are quite friendly, they were not into Pokemon unfortunately, so I don't really have someone I know who can directly tell me the experience of the LA fandom. I also seen a couple of episodes on other trips in my life so I saw some LA dubbed episodes. I even went to a Spanish Anime website where you can download episodes that are in the LA dub. There was one for Season 13 where someone used a Japanese recording that contains Japanese audio, English dub, LA Spanish Dub, and Castilian Spanish Dub, all in one MKV file. As what I can see by searching the fandom myself around 2011-2012 from finding those episodes, they are really active. I remember they were really happy to get Pokemon B2W2 on launch day. LA countries share the same release date as North America. Well, Nintendo products are distributed by a third party company called Latamel. Well, even though they're not first party markets as Nintendo does in European countries, Pokemon games are still profitable. I mean, the hardware and games are more expensive in those countries, like nearly twice the price, usually. Well they would mostly get English imports as there was a lot less support for Latin America in the gaming industry.
Pokemon games in LA and its problems:
Right now, they're getting more support, Legend of Zelda already got its LA dub since BotW, and Nintendo's most recent franchise to have LA translation is Animal Crossing since last year. Sadly, no Pokemon games have LA translation yet, except for Pokemon GO. Despite LA Spanish fandom being really active, The Pokemon Company never had an actual support with Latin America for the games yet, and even if they added language support since X and Y, the Spanish Translation is a complete import from Spain, which means the moves, the character names, and the dialects are pretty different and some fans may not like that approach. Playing a game that only has Castilian Spanish is still common and not really an issue as long as you understand the translation pretty well. For Pokemon specifically, it has a couple of problems. You would think since X and Y release, that they would start using the Spanish names for characters, attack moves, and city names for XY anime's LA Spanish dub, right? NO! They still decide to stick with just use the English character names and cities, translate their own Attack moves if the moves are new or use an existing one from most recent dubs (Some moves have multiple names throughout the anime, as the show got five different dubbing studios), which doesn't match with Castilian Spanish game translation at all. You will be confused about who's name is that person or attack move of you watch any available Spanish translation of both anime and the games, which is why LA Pokemon fans want the games to finally have the LA Spanish translation being made. It's likely that TPC decided to have the anime to not change even when X any Y came out with language selection. The fandom think it's best if the player knows a good level of English at least and just play the games in English. There's also a Reddit thread about why the games should have the translation for LA Spanish audiences, as this persons went a bit more detail as to why Castilian Spanish translation may not work for LA audience as a Kids game, like certain words can be considered vulgar:
https://www.reddit.com/r/TruePokemon/comments/jcf7ix/pok%C3%A9mon_in_latin_america/
More example of LA fans seeing some words being common in Spain is vulgar:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/1ogdln/vulgarity_in_the_spanish_version_of_the_game/
And to give you another example how TPC has less support for their fandom, none of the anime game trailers, Pokemon Generations, or Twilight Wings got LA Spanish dub at all, as none of the games as of now have the LA Spanish translation. TPCi would instead use the LA spcial media accounts and LA Pokemon websites link the Castilian Spanish dub. I do believe TPCi really needs to take a look at the LA Spanish fandom as they are really big. Peru of all Latin America is one of top 5 countries where they have most Pokemon fans. It's really interesting that one of my family's country was the top 5 largest fandom, and as a matter of fact, I do see Pokemon merch being made there. I only see images of the merch. But yeah, I so hope TPCi decide to include the LA Spanish translation as a lot more games in 2010s decide to give more supports to LA Spanish audience. This isn't the 90s or the 2000s anymore, when it was where most video games's only translation was Castilian Spanish, and pirated stores sell bootleg disc that are taken from PAL games to play the games in Spanish. It got a lot better in last couple of years. Crash series got LA translation, and so did most of Sony's and Microsoft's franchises too.
Overall:
So all in all, despite the games lagging behind, Manga doesn't have all volumes translated, and TCG only getting English cards, the LA Pokemon fandom is one of the top biggest communities in the world. I still think the top 3 are Japan, US, and China, based on the statistics, but yeah, the LA fandom is pretty active, and they still play the games and stuff, and most of them watch the anime. The anime was dubbed in Mexico, Ash's first VA was very popular as he voiced Ash, and his got changed by Season 13. Only Jirachi and Deoxys movie was dubbed in Argentina, having sets of different VAs. I see merch everywhere relating to Pokemon, hearing about the games launch day being celebrated in cool areas, and seeing the fans of the anime. I may not be fluent with Spanish, but I do see the fandom are still enjoying Pokemon. I know they would also have an issue with Dex Cut from Sword and Shield just like the entire world does, but still, I do see a couple of fans enjoy the franchise. I even saw a relative who has a boy who had a Pokemon birthday party for the last four years, which seems interesting.
Castilian Spanish?
And if you ask me about Castilian Spanish, I don't mind seeing CS dubs of any anime. I remember watching Mermaid Melody in Castilian Spanish as there was no subs for all episodes at the time and English Dub never made it. I actually liked the Spanish dub, and as for Pokemon, when I got the episodes a decade ago, I finally hear what the dub sounds like. It's interesting how Ash's VA is still voicing him, even to this day. I find it interesting that the games give characters different names, and in most cases, I prefer English names. Meowth's voice sounds really close to his current English voice, which is funny to me. I don't have much experience with Spain's fandom as I do with Latin American one. I prefer LA's first theme song over the Spanish one, but I do prefer Advance Battle Castilian one over LA Spanish one, even if I like both of them. Oh and also, Johto Journeys one, as LA one was badly edited, not using the TV version and use full theme song that is just cut down and missed some lyrics. But yeah, I don't mind the Castilian Spanish translations. I find them to be interesting.
Next:
My part 3 will just be discussing about my other experiences in the fandom and compare it with other ones, and it's gonna be concerning and stuff, but I do want to get into it as I had friends who had different experiences, each of them.

bit of a rant/review of pokemon the movie i choose you
Ok. Can we talk about the Pokémon movie? It was a beautiful fucking mess.
Why?
Let me preface this by saying I am a huge Pokénerd and am a fan of the games and anime (I haven’t watched it in years but what I have seen recently I enjoyed). Saying that, I also am someone who won’t take “well it’s just a kid’s show/movie, it doesn’t have to be good” as an excuse ever, especially with well-done kid’s movies are coming out every year at this point.
Anyway. if you are curious, for some reason, about my opinion of the latest movie in the Pokémon franchise....continue reading.
Also. SPOILERS BELOW.
So. Like I said previously. It was a beautiful, terrible hot mess.
A h o t mess
Let’s start with why I thought it was terrible (and weed out the butthurt fans right off the bat)
Story wise, there were issues. Since they crammed the entirety of season 1 into it with different characters and picked the best episodes of the season as story points.
Like I would compare it to The Last Airbender movie in how over-stuffed it was in story, since that movie also tried to an entire season into a movie, but I can’t compare them because The Last Airbender movie is actual garbage and this movie is.....not that.
Main complaint is movie length. Why is it so short when it could have been so much longer and filled with more character interaction and development?? I’m not asking for Pixar quality because I’m not expecting Pixar, but if you’re gonna introduce us to new characters and expect us to love them and miss them when they leave, give us a bit more to go on than just snapshots of their journey. Speaking of snapshots, though, I did like that little touch of Verity going through her phone to show the moments they’ve all been together -- clever, time-saving story-telling choice, that.
“No one watches/plays Pokémon for the story/characters” -- WELL I DO. THEY’VE DONE IT IN THE PAST AND MADE A MEMORABLE STORY AND GAME FOR US, SO THEY CAN DO IT AGAIN. Have you even SEEN Pokemon Mewtwo Strikes Back? BECAUSE BOI THERE WERE TEARS AND IT WAS THE BEST.
Just...The reason the other Pokémon movies worked so well/better is because we knew the characters involved aside from Ash. If we’re being introduced to new characters in this movie, give us a reason to care about them.
There was also just very little tension because I knew that they were just highlighting parts of the first season (or so), so whatever problem they had would be worked out by the end. Also, because it’s Pokémon and Ash is an OP MC.
My boi Sorrel tho
I love Sorrel, though. A+ dude. I wish he had more screen time because he's such a cute little bean and I FUCKING CRIED when his Luxray died HGHSJJJJjdee (but does he only have Lucario?? Like I know he was too afraid to love a Pokémon after Luxray, but boy are you seriously going on your own with one mon???)
I was also happy to see that he found Articuno, but WOW these kids are lucky because together they’ve all seen like four legendaries (Entei, Raikou, Suicine, Ho-Oh) in the span of a year (or so?) Some people, apparently, don’t see legendaries EVER and these kids see FOUR? I know it’s because plot but dang.
Verity (like the lake!)
Verity (ha her name is Verity and she's from a region with a lake named Verity lol) kind of just reminded me too much of Misty with her Pokémon being water types. If they were gonna add that little background about her mom, I wish they would have done more with it. Like...explain how she uses water types because her mom loved water types. She uses a Piplup because her mom has an Empoleon. I just wanna know MORE about her. GIVE ME MOREEEE DANG IT
I also def thought they were gonna have her mom as someone we've met in the games/show before, but no. Just random, faceless character we never see/meet.
Angry child Cross who is essentially Kacchan from My Hero
Can we talk about Cross for a second?
Yes, he’s an asshole, but, especially with that little redemption arc, he’s not EVIL. Like I know they needed someone to set off all the bad things, but this boy doesn’t have an evil heart. Just say....like a darkened heart or whatever because if he was evil he wouldn’t get a redemption arc like that. He’s just a proud asshole who believes in strength over friendship.
Honestly, true antagonist is Marshadow because WOW SOMEONE NEEDS TO COOL THEIR JETS. I was also incredibly confused as to if Marshadow was good or bad.... Like they say its a guide and someone who restores the balance or fixes the Ho-Oh feather, which sounds like a good guy, but this little bitch was stirring up all the trouble and ends up being the main villain like good lord what is going on.
The animation, the colors
Damn I forgot how good the battles look. Like DAMN. So much tension for a battle I know Ash is gonna win. So much hype when LITERALLY NO ONE UNDERSTANDS TYPE MATCHUPS LIKE A PIPLUP VS A PIKACHU THE PIKACHU WILL WIN IDIOTS
Ahem. But I'm probably thinking too much like the games and not the show which kind of throws the games out the window so whatever.
But yeah, man, I forgot how beautiful something can be when it goes onto the big screen. Like, the Pokémon anime has always had a certain look, a certain charm to it (yes, even in the Sun and Moon series), but it just looked so great and beautiful and gorgeous and lovely on the screen and I’m honestly excited for it to come out on DVD/BluRay whatever so I can see it again.
Ok...it’s not Your Name or a Ghibli film. But...it’s still a very pretty Pokémon movie and it touches my nostalgic, nerdy heart.
ALL THE NOSTALGIA
You read my complaints above, but I will admit that, while it was a bit ridiculous to cram the entire first season into one movie, I enjoyed that it was a celebration of sorts of the show from its beginning? Which was honestly great. They had all of the best, most memorable moments from the show (the pilot -- obviously, finding Charmander, Bye Bye Butterfree). I was near tears a few times with all the nostalgia, guys.
I wish they had brought back Misty and Brock if they wanted to really really celebrate the first season, but c’est la vie.
AND THEN THAT THEME SONG GAVE ME LEGIT CHILLS. I DON’T CARE THAT IT WAS REMIXED. I HAD CHILLS. GOOSEBUMPS E V E R Y W H E R E.
I saw the theme song remix on YouTube prior to seeing the movie and I felt all the nostalgia then, so you’d think I wouldn’t get chills when I saw it.
Welp, we’d both be wrong then. Because ALL THE CHILLS. ALL THE HYPE FOR THE REST OF THE MOVIE. IT WAS GLORIOUS. (imma put it on repeat after i post this, tbh.)
Other things that don’t really have a place elsewhere
Also, this was pretty much the X-Men days of future past of Pokemon. Tbh. Because, unless this is just AU first season? (I can’t remember if this was confirmed to be just the alternate universe first season), it’s like they’re saying well, here’s the NEW beginning of the show so now we can do whatever we want woo! (Jesus I sound like Kukui)
Speaking of doing whatever they want...
PIKACHU SAID WORDS??? ENGLISH? WHYY???????????? I WAS SO CONFUSED AND WONDERED IF MY SODA HAD BEEN SPIKED
I know they were trying to do the throwback to Mewtwo Returns (BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW THAT WAS ONE OF, IF NOT THE, BEST MOVIES AND SO DOES THE POKÉMON COMPANY) and we all want to remember why we love Ash and Pikachu so much and why THEY care about each other so much. But....that was.......strange. Maybe the Japanese audience liked it more because that seems to be the only opinion they really care about, but I know I wasn’t the only one in the theatre just staring at the screen in confusion asking what the actual f u c k was going on.
Last things
I may have my complaints -- that I’m throwing out into the ether just to get them out of my head -- but that doesn’t mean I disliked it.
It’s still Pokémon and I’m still a fan and everyone will still be fans regardless of any issues with the movie, any story problems, any characters featured (or lack thereof **MISTY AND BROCK).
With its beautiful animation, particularly in the battles, and gorgeous set pieces, because WOW did you say some of the views they had?, it was nice to see Pokémon celebrated with an old story told with a fresh coat of paint.
This movie may not be the best. It may not be Pokemon: The First Movie Mewtwo Strikes Back (honestly, most movies aren’t that, so that might be a bit unfair to say.) But it’s still got that Pokémon charm we all know and love and has some pretty cool characters along the way. It’s definitely something that every Pokémon fan, young or old, new or a veteran, should watch and enjoy. Because, despite its flaws, it reminds you of better times, nostalgic times.
It reminds you of that first time you played the game or watched the show, when your biggest choice was your starter Pokémon and adventure was just outside the door, waiting for you to take the first step.
(Yes, I’m basically saying nostalgia is what powers this movie, but we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary, so of course there will be nostalgia.)
Some fandoms can’t say they’ve been around for over 20 years -- but Pokémon, with its die-hard fans and ever-growing fanbase who will support just about anything that comes out relating to the games/show, can. And the movie understands that. It understands that just about everyone who sees it will put on their hat, grab their Pokémon, and sit in those theatre seats like we’re all excited 10 year olds waiting to go on our own journeys, waiting to revisit the world of Pokémon regardless of how good the movie is. And that, the strength of the fans and the perpetual love of the series, in my opinion, is the greatest strength.
