I'm convinced people don't like Kagome Higurashi's voice (specifically the English one) for one of two reasons:
They aren't used to it/watched a different dub first, so their idea of what Kagome sounds like does not align with the English dub and it's jarring (i.e I don't particularly like Bankotsu's Japanese voice because it's deeper than I'm expecting.)
^ If you read a manga before watching the anime, that also applies. Getting used to the SxF English voices was an adjustment because I already had voices I gave them in my head.
They hate what women sound like
and those are the only two reasons I can think of, because Kagome's English voice is just... a pretty normal type of voice for girls to have.
Is Kagome's voice "annoying", or have we all just been socially conditioned to think the voices of women & girl's are more annoying because we're told they're more annoying? There's been a bias against women's voices for a long time and there's probably a lot of internalized misogyny to this day surrounding it.
There are plenty of women and girls who actually sound like English dub Kagome Higurashi. That's a real voice. It's a perfectly fine voice ???
I'm also pretty convinced that a lot of Kagome's ""voice"" being annoying is more about what she does with it, which is exhibit "annoying" behaviours like self-respect, and being opinionated, refusing to let anyone treat her like less, exhibiting emotions. All of these behaviours are frowned upon.
TL;DR: a majority of the complaints against Kagome, her voice, or her character are probably misogyny-based.

do you have any voice hc’s for lesslo/any of the cast in particular? (sorry if this has been asked to death)
I've said before that Ted Lewis would work pretty well for Lesslo. The voice he did for Escargoon from the 4Kids dub of the Kirby anime fits him. It just has that "annoying smartass" vibe, y'know?
BUUUUUT a good while back I did stumble across EPIC the Musical. And while I'm not a big fan of musicals, I'm a sucker for Greek mythology. There is just something about the singer for Hermes that works way too well... It's the laugh. It's DEFINITELY the laugh.
youtube
As for the others... A lot of people have dubbed this comic already, so lemme highlight a few voices that I really enjoy!
I am a very big fan of @paramasqueradeva's take on Ralsei. I enjoy how gentle and polite he sounds. It is extremely fitting for him and the accent works so well. But her take on Toriel is probably the one I wanna highlight the most. It IS the voice I hear in my head when I think of Toriel's dialog in this comic. Also acertain cupid told us she's most likely gonna be a part of the story later. I AM looking forward to when we get there.
Speaking of which, @washerpizza did a GREAT Asgore for this comic! I cannot explain it properly, but the pitch and inflections are just right... y'know? IT JUST SOUNDS SO WARM AND COZY GODDAMMIT. I WANNA HUG THIS VOICE. But yeah, Asgore will also be playing a role in the comic later so that's why I'm highlighting that voice in particular.
The guys over at Symbiotus Inc. on Youtube are also doing a FANTASTIC job! I especially love how Berdly voiced in them. Makes me wish I included more bits with him... but that's what the mini comics are for I guess. BUT YEAH! It's of a collection of people dubbing this comic rather than just one person, so it would be a little easier if you go look up all the voice actors in the description of their dubs.
OH, and I can't forget @projectalpha22's take on Kris specifically. It strikes the perfect balance between all the yelling, silliness and the tender moments. So the whole spectrum of what makes Kris... well... Kris in the comic. I haven't heard a take on them that just straight up nails it like this one. That is just Kris and it is the voice I will forever hear in my mind when I think of Kris' dialog and nothing will ever change that.
Also, they even did the voice work for TR!Kris in this mod for Ring Racers. Go check it out!
GO CHECK OUT ALL THE ALL THE HIGHLIGHTED VOICE ACTORS FOR THAT MATTER. DO IT. I WILL KEEP STANDING IN FRONT OF YOUR DOOR WITH AN AXE UNTIL YOU DO IT.
Other than that... uh... Redge is basically just Strongbad. Gaster is a BIG spoiler and well, there is also another Darkner that has occasionally been mentioned but hasn't made an appearance yet. More on her some other time...

Fourteen Days of MHA: Day 3
Light Fades to Rain
Okay, let's gush. Here are my feelings about the anime adaptation of chapters 360-362: season 7 episode 11. This will quickly devolve from eloquent discussion to raging madness I promise.
The opening five minutes are the weakest part of the episode. This is the only section I will lodge any complaints about, and honestly they're not that serious.
The sadomasochism got toned down :P
I kind of expected it, and honestly I get why. Even though it was scaled back, the scene was effective enough for most viewers because there's just something about seeing it animated that makes it feel visceral anyways. The detail was always going to be reduced in the art when adapted to animation, and a lot of that art could've looked really bad without the necessary detail.
But it wouldn't be on brand for me if I didn't mention that it bummed me out lol.
The only other thing I can complain about isn't even an issue with the episode, it's an error in the subtitles.
Tumblr media
"...you're just goldfish poop next to All For One."
a) It should be "One For All," not "All For One."
b) I don't think they should have kept it as "goldfish poop." Sorry to any language purists out there, but the idiomatic meaning of this phrase in Japanese will not get picked up by an English-speaking audience--and that idiom is important. It has an impact on how Katsuki behaves going forward. I think the subtitles should have changed that to something like "a minnow in One For All's wake" or "a tag-along weakling," ANYTHING to get the point across that Tomura is trying to inflict psychological damage by telling Katsuki he'll never amount to anything on the level of One For All. That message informs the rest of the episode!
Now, if that's the only complaint I have about this whole episode--a slightly too-fast-paced-under-detailed opening scene and a bad subtitle--then I'm a happy camper. And indeed that is the only complaint I have.
This episode is a masterpiece of adaptation.
The focus on the Big Three is so good because it does such a good job of masking where the episode is going but it's perfectly in-theme because of the parallels the three of them have with Izuku and Katsuki. IT JUST WORKS MAN. I LOVE IT.
The music that plays when Katsuki mutters is an excellent choice, though I wish they could have done something to hammer the point home more that he was indeed muttering and analyzing like Izuku does. Maybe the little "mutter" text would've been dissonant in tone lol but still I wish there was a way they could've done it. I do think the point does come across in the end still, but it's just more impactful when you get to see the little "mutter" text come full circle. Yeah yeah, manga vs anime and all that.
I didn't expect the tone they went with for Jeanist's reaction to Katsuki's muttering, but it was just different not like bad or anything. I kinda liked the whole "what the fuuuuck" vibe of it. I was thinking more like "Holy shit, I'm a proud dad" tone but this works XD
Jeanist is such a dad.
HE SPARKLE. KATSUKI, HE SPARKLE. IT SO PRETTY. AT LAST.
The animators were SOOOO trying to hide the twist this episode from the anime-only viewers, they didn't even put Katsuki on the commercial bumpers, they didn't want to SPOIL THE SURPRISE. IT'S SO GOOD.
Lost it at Tenko's freak out (damn voice actor wow) and Mirio's "g-gomen." I need the dub of this scene so bad.
JEANIST MY FIRST LOVE, DAD-ING SO HARD ALL OVER THIS EPISODE LOOK AT HIM GO.
Nejire is adorable as hell and everyone in MHA is so easily read as autistic it's remarkable actually.
They really put the typography behind the plasma cannon they actually did that.
UNF THAT PIANO. THE PIANO GOES OFF ALL OVER THE PLACE THIS EPISODE, DAMN.
Also good job on making the plasma cannon blast look small and precise to contrast Katsuki's attack last episode, because Katsuki definitely has more firepower but Tamaki has the finesse to concentrate the attack for a sustained period.
BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS
Everything from BOOTS on is perfection I know you all already know that.
Jeanist's voice acting is underappreciated, I really loved him this episode.
The little special sound effect for his clusters now!!! IT MAKES ME SO EXCITED. I CAN'T WAIT TO SUPERIMPOSE IT OVER KATAMARI DAMACY NEXT SEASON
Present Mic with the La Brava's-Love-quirk soft narration omg [chef's kiss]
OKAMOTO. OKAMOTO OH MY GOD. YOU GIVING ME FEELINGS WITH YOUR VOICE CRACKS I CAN'T SLEEP
The slo-mo shots are so pretty ;_;
THEY GAVE US MORE KUDOU TOO AND IT WAS SO GOOD, THE CONNECTION WAS DRAWN SO WELL BETWEEN HIM AND KATSUKI I AM LOVING IT SO MUCH. IT ALSO HELPS THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING AUDIENCE UNDERSTAND THIS IS DEFINITELY THE AFO-DOMINANT PERSONALITY NOT TOMURA.
Even if this series ends without explaining it, I'm going to come up with my own explanation for that vestige world shit. That cannot just be symbolic afterlife bullcrap. IT MEANS SOMETHING.
He's just a boy ;_; He's just a baby boyyyyyy
GIVE HIM HIS AUTOGRAPH BY THE END OF THIS SERIES SO HELP ME--
he spin thru the air like a meme
It's time for Horikoshi's favorite character: Bakucorpse!
You wanted the blue sky gone, but at what cost?
YES I'M LOVING THE VIBE FROM THE THUNDER SOUND
Oh...oh it hurts a lot to see in color, oh he's so pale...ohhhh no
THAT ENDING SONG? NOW? HOW DARE.
That horrifying feeling of emptiness at the end :)
The joy of watching others cry over this 👀
Katsuki is the actual symbol of hope I don't care what anyone says. All hope of victory is lost with his death and the only chance of winning comes from reviving him with the literal power of hopes and prayers and wishes. He is Hope Incarnate. A very Sassy (Soft Precious) Hope Incarnate.

Nobody cares, but I love the Russian voice acting of LazyTown! I just wanted to share this with you!
Our dubbing is often not the best, but I really like how it turned out in LazyTown!
Funny facts in the Russian dubbing Robbie Zlobnyy( like Evil), Milford Dobrodushnyy (like Good-natured), and Bessie Delovaya (like Businesslike) hee hee Since the last names of the others were not mentioned in the series, we don’t know them.
I would even say that I like the Russian voice acting of the kids more than the original :D I especially like the voice acting of Pixel
For fun, I decided to also insert Genie and Robbie's Dream Team because I love them and their voice acting
Cons:
Songs. The songs of Stephanie Sportacus and Robbie are good, but the songs of the other kids… They are sung strangely anyway, and they constantly change singers for them and it always sounds strange (In one episode, Pixel sang with the voice of Ziggy, and not the "singing" actor Ziggy, but the "talking" one). In general, Russian dubbing of songs often doesn't work out very well (I still haven't recovered from the incident when in the Steven Universe Steven started singing with the voice of some guy, and not the usual female actress, it was very scary) But this doesn't mean that all the songs are bad, not at all! Many of them are very cool! As I said, actors Robbie Sporty and Stephie did a great job! -Sportacus doesn't have his accent :( They just didn't think about the accent in our country. That's why I didn't understand why the fandom gave Sportacus an accent until I watched the original -THE MAYOR'S VOICE IN SEASONS 3 AND 4 IS TERRIBLE IMHO -In the opening song, for some strange reason, they changed the order of the children's names, which is why when I was a kid I couldn't remember their names. They go in the order Ziggy Trixie Stingy Pixel, while on the screen they appear in the order Pixel Stingy Trixie
And just for fun, I'll tell you that our phrase "8:08 it's time to sleep" became a meme because someone decided to edit it a little, which resulted in "8:08 it's time to shit" because these words are very similar in Russian, they differ by one letter lol
And I would be interested to know about the dubbing in your countries! Is there anything interesting that you want to tell? I would be very glad to hear it!

Just finished the German dub of Transformers One. I liked it. My German isn’t that great yet but it helps to watch and listen to media in German. I liked basically all the voices, Starscream sounds almost exactly like in the English version, with the tone of voice and everything. There’s one moment at the end where they seem to forget that his voice box has been ruined but I may just be hearing it wrong. I also liked Bee, just felt like his voice fit well. I also felt like D-16/Megatron’s voice actor did a REALLY good job switching from D-16 to Megatron. Really menacing. Optimus/Orion did not work for me though. He sounds too old. Maybe as just Optimus he could have been better but in several scenes I kinda forgot he was playing Orion because he just doesn’t sound like him.
Also, gotta love different age rating guides. Hearing Sentinel Prime say “You look like shit” to Alpha Trion was hilarious. A little while ago someone told me that Megatron’s “I want to kill him” line is more chilling in German. I watched it and thought it was very impactful. It is definitely on par with the English version IMO.
Extra note: Maybe this isn’t actually that impressive and is quite normal in dubbing, but I feel like they did a SUPER good job making the words match up with lip movements. Danish dubbing often messes this up but maybe it’s because it’s difficult grammar-wise and maybe some translators prioritise accurate translation over lip-syncing. (Also we very much suffer from typecasting. There’s this one guy who voices at least one man over 50 in almost every animated kids movie. He’s known as “The man with the 1000 voices” and while I do admire his abilities, he is just…. Everywhere… and you get tired of it… I think we can find someone else in our population of 5,9 million… just once) Now, I’m not able to understand the deeper nuances of the sentences because of my skill level, so maybe they did sacrifice something, but overall it at least looked good.

Reviewing the ENTIRE Cars Franchise: Planes 2: Fire and Rescue
Well that was better then i remembered.
There are barely any movies that have a sequel that is actually ten times better, but Planes 2: Fire and Rescue is one of those movies.
(warning: spoilers. Following text is just my opinion.)
It revolves around Dusty, our main racer, discovering his gearbox is kaput, so he can only fly at a certain speed otherwise he crashes, so racing is not possible anymore. In attempt to help Mayday out, he decides to train with a team of firefighter Heli's, and he quickly gets a chance to prove himself when a massive forest fire bursts out, threatening many lives.
Tumblr media
Dusty (Planes: Fire and Rescue)
I liked that this movie took a complete different direction. As we know Planes 1 isnt the most original movie, so i liked the direction this movie took, how it decided to show another job and its dangers. I like it when sequels do this, when they stand out, make another story. Thats nice.
Me & Planes... How well do we go?
The first time i ever watched Planes i felt SUPER neutral about it. I didnt quite know how to rate it. Both movies were not that memorable, but i have to point out, after watching F&R 5 years ago, i forgot like 99% of the movie, except for one particular scene.
"My gearbox is busted!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For some reason, this scene, its acting especially, stuck with me. And after installing Tumblr, diving deep in the Cars fandom and hearing on this movie again, this particular scene was the first thing i remembered. About the acting, it was the Dutch version, my first time watching Planes was on Disney+, and Dusty's Dutch voice in particular i never really forgot. This scene was my only clear memory of this movie. Gotta say, the og English version does NOT disappoint. Dane Cook is AMAZING as Dusty. And to clear up, i couldnt find the dutch dub anywhere and i aint buying a movie on YT for €15.99.
Talking about Blade...
Tumblr media
Dusty and Blade. (Planes: Fire and Rescue)
Honestly: Blade is pretty badass. I liked the scenes with him. He's good at his job, he's loyal, he's intelligent... Blade is a good dude. Turns out he was an actor and one of his co - actors died on set during a stunt scene. Thats kinda deep.
I like this backstory on him but its still feels like this movie tries to be Cars at certain points. That doesnt change the fact that its MASSIVE improvement from the first movie, wich just copied Cars blatantly. This movie doesnt blatantly copy, it takes aspects and makes it into something else. Again, its its own thing. I liked that.
My biggest problem with this movie is this running gag where Dipper has a crush on Dusty, who is clearly not comfortable with this, and i just didnt really like it. However there was this one scene, and despite that i know how creepy it is, it was still pretty funny.
Tumblr media
"i LiKe WaTcHiNg yOu sLeEp".. girl leave him alone pls 😭
I don't get this. Is it supposed to be funny? Because in my opinion Dipper continuously invading Dusty's personal space and straight up obsessing over him is kind of weird. Dusty is not comfortable, he doesnt like this attention, where did my niece get that from 😭😭
I hope i'm not taking this kids movie too seriously. Either way, lesson of the day: men in fact have feelings too ✌️good job at the writing, Disney.
The animation is wonderful 💕
AND THE VOICE ACTING. I would love to become a voice actor one day, js. In Planes, the actors do an AMAZING job. All the emotions are depicted so well, especially Dusty's and Blade's. I love it when you can hear actors are enjoying their job, here you can hear it too.
Overall thoughts?
Planes: Fire & Rescue, while to me not the most memorable movie, is still better then the first movie for sure. It has stunning animation, the actors do an incredible job and the movie really explores the direction its taking. I think its definitely a massive improvement. 8/10, would watch it again. Alright, thats it.

Do you have a preference between the Japanese dub and the English dub of the game?
To be honest? No, both voice actors did great jobs in both languages. I rarely have a preference in things like this, and I see a lot of discussions from people talking about dubbing, subtitles, and such. (I would really like some game like Rain code to be dubbed in my language, I could think of some interesting voice actors)
Tw: Chapter 5 Spoilers and Makoto without mask
Sure, I saw the game in English dubbed and being played by a YouTuber from my country, however, I was curious about what the characters' voices were like in the Japanese dub. The duality of him speaking with the mask in a childish tone is very creative, and him being voiced by the same voice actress as Anya from Spy x family is funny.
When I heard his voice without the mask, it was a relief, one of my friends on Discord said: "thank goodness he has an adult voice" We have several problems regarding some things in Japanese culture with young-looking characters, Also, one of them mistook him for a girl, so the voice just further confirmed my point that he was a man, lol.
Tumblr media
Both his English and Japanese dubs are good in their own ways, I'm usually the neutral one in discussions about which dub is better and such, usually these confusions are more about the Brazilian dubs. I don't like arguing on the internet, so I avoid it as much as I can.
Look at this angry Makoto, I love seeing pictures of him like this, he even looks like a Tsundere, he pretends to be a tough person who doesn't need help, but deep down, he does need It. The way he shows love for Kanai Ward is genuine, so it would be the same for his partner, right?
Tumblr media
I think it would be a genuine question asked by his partner, like, yeah, he's cute, short, and all, but, I feel a sexy aura coming from him, could it be the suit, the long hair, and the voice?
Everyone has a thing for this type of man.
I know he's not totally a villain, he's more of an anti-hero, however, I think you get the context, I like to make him be kind of evil in some drawings.

Dungeon Meshi Anime Review, Season 2, Episode 17 review
OH GOD OKAY here we go...
Once again, I am a broken record: good episode!
My two major complaints: The bit where Laios and Kabru stand around talking next to an off-screen, roaring, screaming monster seemed kind of silly in animation. In a comic it works, but they really should have animated them walking or stumbling away while delivering those lines, having them just stand there until the monster attacks them again is really goofy.
ALSO, something Trigger keeps doing that I am NOT a fan of, is throwing animated speed-line backgrounds behind characters when they're reacting to something. Sometimes these were in the original manga, other times they are NOT... and they break the immersion of the anime completely IMO.
The coloring in DM is so moody and wonderful, the aesthetic is generally grounded, so when suddenly the background is bright blue or lime green or pink and strobing, it's VERY jarring... and the joke DOES NOT NEED these effects in order to be funny! In fact I think it leeches some of the humor out of the jokes. Imagine if every time someone had a strong emotion in a classic Disney movie you'd get this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This type of sudden background color change, strobing and speed lines are artifacts of older, cheaper anime, tricks that used to be done to hide the lack of budget, as a way to make a quick joke. It's now used as a shorthand to tell people a joke is happening.
But Trigger doesn't NEED to use these tricks, they're using them because "that's how you make sure the audience knows a joke is happening", but the jokes in Dungeon Meshi are so well written, you don't need to cue us with a visual laugh-track, Trigger!!!! ESPECIALLY when Kui didn't do it in the manga!!!
They've done it in other episodes, but I felt like they were particularly noticeable and bad in this one. Makes me sad because I feel it's dragging the anime down from the genuine peak of artistry that it's otherwise achieving.
As always, animation is fantastic. The stuff with chimera falin is obviously top notch, brutal and fast and amazing... But I also have to say that the Toshiro and Laios argument was animated INCREDIBLY well, with a lot of loving detail given to what is, ostensibly, just talking, something Trigger normally hates to animate.... But they put movie-quality work into that argument and it really paid off.
Honestly can't think of much to complain about. It's a solid adaptation of this part of the story, one of the biggest, coolest action sequences that we've all been waiting for.
Vocal performances were all great in both English and Japanese. Kabru's English voice actor did a great job, despite my misgivings about him in previous episodes. I hope he continues to improve.
A dub script change had Kabru think "He's excited" about Laios instead of "his pupils are dilated"... This isn't a terrible change, but a bit baffling. Saying his pupils are dilated tells viewers HOW Kabru knows Laios is excited, and indicates that he is using some kind of scientific criteria to measure it, it makes him sound smarter and more detached from what he's doing. Just saying "he's excited" doesn't tell us how Kabru knows... and it's a thought, not dialog, so it's weird for them to change it in the script, since there's no need to match mouth-flaps.
The sequence where Kabru strips off all his armor and does a surprise attack on Falin is still fantastic in this, though I am a little bit sad that they didn't find any ways to add any extra emphasis for it - in the manga it's drawn out a bit, to the point where you might miss what was happening on your first read... I think the amount of shots we got in the anime was the same as in the manga, but somehow it felt less impactful to me. Maybe pacing?
At any rate, it was an incredibly solid episode.
I already liked Toshiro, but seeing this part of the manga animated really made me like him more, I hadn't realized in the past just how damn romantic the twin bells thing was, but damn. Toshiro really has forgiven Laios by the time they part ways here, it's easy to forget that since Toshiro very much takes a back seat after this.

Digimon Adventure Episode 33 Dub vs Sub
breathes in and out Ok, both of these episodes were so intense. This is probably one of the darkest episodes so far and my heart hurts lol. I forgot how good Digimon was at evoking these kinds of emotions in me. Ok, so I thought the dub did a good job for the most part but at the same time, maybe it’s Patamon’s voice actor or something but in the dub, it did kind of feel like he was making fun of them. “We like it when you guys are all brotherly” like it almost sounded sarcastic or the timing was off, something was just weird about the line. In the original version, he just asked if they don’t like to separate.
Admittedly, I think either it’s really been awhile since I watched this season because there were nuances to it I did not pick up or if I did, they did not stick because they were smaller moments. We learn in later episodes how Matt feels about his parent’s divorce and being separated from his little brother, but in this one, we see glimpses of how it affects T.K. in both versions. The dub had him get more defensive because he felt he was being made fun of while the sub was a clear example of how the truth can hurt even when it’s a truth you try to avoid.
And yes, I guess we have to talk about Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon, don’t we? My heart sunk…I don’t cry easily (well, sometimes I do lol depends on the kind of scene) but that scene, I just shivered because the OG scene was so dark. In the dub, they just get banished back to the digital world. In the OG, Myotismon kills them in front of the children. It really makes you shiver because how are these kids still sane lol? Like dang. Another thing I find interesting is T.K.’s crest shines when he’s in despair - which is the opposite of hope. Like he was falling into despair and Patamon digivolved to Angemon. When Angemon digivolves to MagnaAngemon, it is because he has hope though. But I thought this scene was interesting - because his despair triggered it.

Is Sabino gonna be alive at the end?
What are the Sakina and Sabino's headcanon voice actors?
Would Magnifico break the fourth wall once he transforms into a monster or during the credits?
Do you have your own set of Villains who are ten times better than Magnifico that you take inspiration for my rewrite from him? like some of them are your most loved and hated villains?
What would be sabor’s defeat?
If Star is a prince, Does Star and and his mother shares a same familial relationship as Ariel and King Triton, Moana and Chief Tui?
Is King Magnifico planning on using WG!Star as bait to trap his mother and drain her magic or drain both of them?
Is Asha and Flazino are like cousin figures?
How did Flazino became apprentice to King Magnifico?
Hello there, @albertthewolfdog! Sorry I'm late to your ask, but here I am!
Yes! And he will perform his deleted song "A Wish Worth Making" at the end of the story to help close it out! Its actually one of the few things I'm glad the movie changed. I really like Sabino and glad they didn't kill him off.
Sabino's is still Victor Garber, I feel that was a great choice, but they didn't give him any good lines to say or have an impact on the viewer. Very underutilized. As for Sakina, I know it sounds strange, but I picked Whoopi Goldberg. WG!Sakina has a bit of sass to her (that's where Asha gets it from) but she can still be motherly and caring. She'll even have some good lines later on and in the bonus stories. I think Whoopi can make all that come through in her voice.
He will do it twice as a monster, actually! He looks at the camera and says "How's that for a climax?" when the time comes for him and Star to fight. And another when Gabo asks Amaya how did she get to the top of tower before Magnifico did. She can't explain, and neither can the King, so its a Emperor's New Groove reference!
OH YEAH!! The inspirations are Team Rocket when they're in front of a crowd, then Hades and Maleficent when they're alone together. LOVE both of those pairings, so they fit in well!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. I haven't quite decided yet. I've been considering turning him into a regular housecat to reference Yzma's cat form, or getting injured fighting Valentino. He would begrudgingly receive care from Bazeema during his recovery.
6. Actually Star is technically a regular guy. "Wish Granted" Stars ate dubbed "star nomads", where they travel across the galaxy in the Startosphere without a permanent home. There's only one royal star, and that's the legendary wishing star that no one has actually seen in the present. Though, Star feels like a prince when he's with Asha and Asha feels like a princess when she's with Star.
As for the mother relationship question, I would say Moana and Chief Tui. Star's parents don't really understand why he wants to visit Earth so badly when he has all of space to travel in. They still love and care for him, he's just the odd kid in his family.
7. Nope, but you're close! He's using Asha's family and the Hamlet as bait so he gives her an ultimatum. Either she hands over Star and he dies, or her family dies. You are right about both he and Amaya wanting to drain Star's magic. He's going to use the staff to stab him in the chest and drain every drop out of him until he's empty. Then the two will share the celestial magic and will be able to conquer the rest of the world.
8. Yes, good eye! Its not a Disney reference, but they're similar to the Alien Force version of Ben and Gwen Tennyson. They're practically family and get along, no romance in the slightest.
9. Like the deleted scene, Flazino's wish is to study magic. For this story, its so he can help others lives be better, which is what he thought Magnifico wanted as well. He thought the job would be more glamorous or fun as he learned, but it turns out Mags doesn't actually want a successor. He plans on being in power permanently with his wife. He pretends he granted Flazi's wish and instead of studying magic, he's the errand boy, cleans the lab equipment, feeds Sabor, and is in charge of the tour guides for newcomers. Flazino just practices what he can at home and secretly takes ingredients from Amaya's potion cabinet.
He gave his wish at 18, and was surprised to hear it was getting granted so soon. Though Mags doesn't really need an apprentice, he takes Flaz on just in case something happened to him, all of his magic, power and evil will go into the apprentice. Sort of passing on his plans to him to become the next Magnifico and continue his work. That's pretty terrifying.
During the first few months of becoming the apprentice, he learned about the Hamlet through rumors in Rosas. He didn't understand why people would run away until he stumbles on seeing the king and queen crush the wishes of a couple who talked about leaving Rosas and not trusting the royals. He never saw that couple again.
He later took off one night into the forest to finds this supposed Hamlet using a tracking spell. Once he finds it, Sabino and other people tell him why they ran and what a monster the royal could be. Flazino felt so disgusted that he promised to help anyway he could. So he makes an excuse to get specialty mushroom from the Uncharted Forest once a month and brings supplies to the Hamlet ever since. (stuff like seeds to grow food, flour, medicine, toys for the kids)
And there you go! Thanks for submitting! Feel free to ask more questions whenever you like!

Genuine question, but why do you like Tsukishima's dub performance? No hate at all and in some sense I agree with you, but I sorta noticed that the fandom often says that his voice doesn't fit and it sounds too young. (At least I'm pretty sure the fandom says that often, I don't interact with it too much 😭) And I was just curious to know why you like the voice as you seem rlly passionate about Golden Kamuy!
really i just think it suits him -- tsukishima's dub is one of my favourites, like deffo top 5. to me it matches to what i think he would sound like... tsukishima gets on my screen and i start doing the damn debby ryan hair tuck LMAO. his voice actor just has a Pleasing voice to me too. sometimes it's a little awkward but also like. So Is The Character
i think the dub did a fantastic job casting tsukishima, tsurumi, and sugimoto ngl... ogatas va has grown on me but im also... Extremely Normal about that wretched little man. as much as i do love his japanese voice actor on his own, i think his dub voice fits better. crunchy ass. but again im insane about him
koito would be up there but they really.... good lort they made him SOUND fruity (not against this, that boy is NOT straight at all)

update! finished season 4 time to start up season 5
I am glad to report that this season has brought peace to my inner 9 year old (who was upset about the treatment of snakes in season 1) further more just as I had gotten used to 'goodmadan' (thats what I dubbed him in my head) he is now gone :(
anyway: I am actually so proud of my wonderful son <3
I never updated my opinions on the cole-jay-nya thing. I actually ended up not minding it. the rivalry was very much a general rivalry not a love rivalry. I defintly got the vibe Cole just wanted to piss Jay off. which is good because if the writers actually tried to pull a heterosexual romance involving cole it would NOT have been believable. I also actually really liked the internal conflict it gave Nya.
I also LOVE LOVE L O V E D how they like: managed to adress Zane's death at the end of rebooted. the funeral scene was already a lot but I genuinely did not expect for it to have that much of an impact. I thought it would be a quick death fakeout you know? and then they go own to show the ways everyone is grieving and how that grief seperated the group and it's like 'wait this is actually sad as fuck wait what i might cry wait' XD
I think that one thing I posted about this show being really satisfactory as a viewer holds up a lot. I really appreciate how not only do we have these themes and full circles within a season but I also feel like the separation of the ninja at the beggining of the season called me all the way back to 'home'. (aside from being a super fucking relatable episode) I think that episode kinda like: really cemented the Ninja as a team. and my god LLOYD my son has grown sooo much <3 I feel like: so proud of him actually <333
Chen was a FUN villain. capital A Asshole, excellent theatrics. his design is FANTASTIC: the voice actor did a great job at bringing it all together. he was unhinged and evil and ethically fucked and morally even more fucked and an egotistical capitalist. he's MANIPULATIVE, manipulative as FUCK, honestly I think that's what made him a good villain, not his prowess, the way he fucking lives for the drama he causes. also I kind of got the impression that after being banished to the island he got a few screws loose. maybe that was just me but idk, I think it's the voice actors delivery of some lines and his evil laughter that gave me that vibe. like he's just not quite all there.
I think the stuff with the noodle factory prisoners was probably my favorite. I mentioned this but a while back I read a fanfic that had something comparable going on, but it was lot heavier in tone so in that fic the characters had to leave a lot of their fellow captives behind. I think the way how it was so 'all of us get out or none of us do' and that solidarity kinda like: was particularly nice to see with that fic on my mind, it healed the anguish left behind by that fic. also once again SO SATISFACTORY. when they finally executed their escape plan. dude I was fuckign cheering lets fucking gooooo
anyway I REALLY loved this season. also this is kinda silly but it's got me excited for when this one fanfic I am obsessed with tackles on this season. it's still on season 2 but I know the author has plans and I will gladly patiently reread this fic excessively while waiting for updates lmao
alrighty: time to go binge season 5: whenever I finish that I'll be sure to update you guys :3 Idk if anyone actually cares but talking to the void is fun anyway sooo

I think it's so cute that these two have the same voice actor🩷🩷
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fact that they are both "tough guys" that are actually huge softies once you get to know them is too cute!!
Also they have a scar on there left cheek and get very blushy around someone they find cute is adorable!! (Not shipping Genya and Mitsuri btw)
ALSO THEY HAVE A BAD RELATIONSHIP WITH THEIR BROTHERS OML (I know Hunter isn't actually brothers with belos but since he is a clone of Caleb I think it makes sort of sense, I don't see them as brothers tho) they just want to be accepted by the only family they have :(
AND THEIR MY FAV CHARACTERS!!! THEY REALLY HAVE A FEW SIMILARITIES, MY HEART-
Zeno Robinson did an amazing job with Genya so far! He is one of the good parts of the dub, I think!! (☆▽☆)

Something I really appreciate with the voice actors for Castlevania especially Castlevania nocturne is that they didn't sound like anime English dub voice actors and it allowed them to actually do an amazing job
Everyone's characters voice sounds so good and emotionally well done
Some people don't like that the voice actress for Annette is South African ( I think ) so the accent isn't there but her actual acting was really good. Loved the guy that did Olrox voice
I'm not really a fan of English dubs for anime because many just copy things that work in Japanese but in English, it doesn't make sense and it's really off putting. Part of the reason I bothered to continue watching castlevania is they didn't just copy what they saw some English voices actors do for animes and I mention that because it's obvious anime inspired the show
