#i really have no idea what I'm doing

Of course you do. This is what my photoshoot lot looks like.

The random items are there so I can adjust my Sims' head/eye positions by directing them to look at certain items while they're posing. Except The Pole™, which is there for convenience in case I need to use it. You know how much I love The Pole™.

I have the black box extended to the next level so I can shoot upwards and not accidentally get the seam of the wall or the outside. I don't remember if there's a way to build walls of varying heights in Sims 3 or if I'm thinking of Sims 4. Either way, I couldn't figure out how to do that so I just built a room upstairs and extended the wallpaper. I try to match the lighting upstairs as well as downstairs so if I have to shoot upwards at an extreme angle, I don't get any weird color banding or a seam where the two sections meet.

I'm not showing y'all this to say "this is the only way to do this" or even "this is the best way to do this" because neither are true at all. I just wanted to show you how I do things. If anything, it's a cry for help. There are so many easier ways to do all of this but this is how I find it easiest for me.

I'm still not the best at lighting and I'm a little scared to venture outside of a black box or a white box because it's just easiest for me to shoot against. Every time I use a patterned wall, it ends up looking pixelated or banded. I'm positive I'm doing something wrong but I don't know how to fix it. I'm still learning. Any and all tips will be greatly appreciated, in fact. Please. Please teach me. 🙏

This is from before I made everything but the black box area blue to help me frame things better. As you can see, I was playing around with the effects machine from Showtime to see if I could make my backgrounds more interesting that way.

I ended up not really liking the result. You have to place like a thousand of these to get much coverage for the background but then it ends up being too much.

I feel like it looks a lot better without all the nonsense going on back there.

Someone who knows what they're doing give me some tips on how to do...everything lmao.

I am really frustrated by not really knowing anything about how to do what I want to do, and how much fabric I would need to do what I want to do.
