Writing Tools for Planning Your Story

I've tried tons of writing apps and sites, so you don't have to. Here's a list of free sites to plot out your novel, with my review and some images of how I use it.

Milanote

Milanote is like having a giant pinboard with folders. You can upload anything onto it [yes even your main doc] and then draw over it or connect things with lines and arrows

Milanote lets you add up to a hundred things for free, not including drawing. This is one of the downsides of the site as I've found myself reaching that limit recently.

For me, the best part is being able to draw over stuff, and the color swatches.

Milanote is a lot less structured than other sites I've used, and personally, I don't think their templates are worth using.

8/10 overall, Milanote is what I mainly use. Here are some pics of how I use it:

Miro

Miro is a flowchart website mainly used for corporate jobs, however, it can be a great plotting tool for that reason

Miro has a lot of great starter templates if you are looking for a more structured freeform experience. It also comes with a blank page as well.

Unfortunately, I'd argue that it's a bit of a hard tool for beginners to use without a template, I've learned copy-paste is my best friend with Miro the hard way.

It's much better than most platforms at making timelines though.

It has a limit of three boards which is a bit disappointing but overall, I think it's worth the try.

5/10 Miro is very middle of the road for me due to the limited ability to customize things and the free limit. Here are some pics:

This might be someone's jam, I can't really say it's mine though.

First off, the unpaid version is really just a few boxes saying "Write a summary here." which makes it just not worth it in my opinion

There really isn't any way to customise things which is my favorite part of most of these softwares

I've barely used this, so maybe there's something I'm missing but

1/10, Just use Google Docs at this point, here's a couple pics

World Anvil

People like this software, it's mainly used for tabletop, which is just a different way of writing adventure, and I've seen it recommended by authors.

Unfortunately, I'm going to disagree with a lot of people and say it's hard to use and isn't even really good at plotting.

I may be biased on this one as every time I've tried to use it in the past I've struggled. However, it seems like another just write it in a document and create a folder.

I'd say it's closer to an organizing tool, but even then just use something else.

3/10, I have nothing to say about it but maybe you'll enjoy it, all here are two photos

Campfire

This is the one I think I've heard the most about, but have never actually tried.

right off the bat, I'm going to say this is 100% worth it, you'll see at the end with the photos but this is like if Miro and World Anvil had an organization baby.

It's extremely easy to understand, and it makes timelines, it's more for writing your whole book but idk about that yet.

7/10, its themes are really pretty but it limits how much you can do to 20 I believe. Here are the photos

That's all for now, honestly, I think you should use Miro if you are looking to plot things out, and Milanote if you want to collect and organize your thoughts for writing, as that's what I do. Obviously what I like won't be for everyone, but hopefully, this helped you see some options

Any bird artists/graphic designers/photo-editors out there that might be willing to make a logo and/or a merch design for our local small game bird association, after the new year?

I'm currently in the process of taking over my state game bird association's website stuff, to help them recover after incredibly bad leadership did their level best to wreck it entirely. It's a "State" association, in that it's for people in this state but isn't run by the state, it's just like. a few people who like game birds who have made nonprofit (like an actual 501(c)) club for other people that like game birds. There's less than 100 members in it according to the registry I saw, to give you an idea what it's like. I'm dealing with one 70+ year old lady, one Older Mom (who isn't even in the association anymore) that helped transfer stuff out of her name, and one Other Lady (who is apparently the sister of one of the hospital board members, but who lacks her sister's desire to watch the world burn I guess) that I've only had phone conversations with so far. I've so far been able to get their website under control and I'm working on getting their facebook back into their hands (it's still being held hostage by a hostile board member they're trying to get rid of), and to try to help them all limp into being a functional association again, like it was when I first started interacting with it 20 years ago.

That being said, in the transfer of the site, the previous site is 100% lost, including all old graphics. No one still in the association has any of the old graphics saved. That's fine, they were.... terrible. Like, this is an old preview pic of the site banner

Truly terrible. So, not gonna lie, kinda glad it's gone forever.

There is an OLDER banner, from before dickhead mcfuckface took over the association, and it's "better" but it's very clearly got an 80s vibe like you would not believe

But, the old lady that is running the association now asked me about having a header on the front page, so here I am. I told her that there were a TON of talented artists that would be happy to be paid (all of the following would be PAID work, if the association can afford it and if not they will just do without, I was VERY clear about needing to pay artists for work) to design a logo and/or some kind of graphic designer that could help with a little banner for the website. She also asked me about selling t-shirts and hats, since some people at the swaps have asked for them. I told her that a nice looking logo would be a good start for that kind of thing, but that I could ask around and see if anyone wanted to draw a game bird design to sell at their bake sale table or maybe redbubble or something similar so people can just get what they want.

I'm sorry that this is vague, but beyond the logo/site header, I'm not sure exactly what they are going to want, just that they are going to want An Artist Or Three. You'd be dealing with me once I've wrangled them into telling me what they exactly want for anything outside the website.

As for the website, I actually don't mind the basic design of the second banner (the 80's one, a rectangle, circle badge logo in the middle, game animals to either side), and I think it would be good to bring back that general feel, but cleaner and brighter on colors, and different animals. The club does not really deal with deer or raccoons regularly, and pheasants are not the only game birds. I was thinking maybe just doing birds on both sides. Peacocks, pheasant, chicken, turkey, ducks, quail, and dove(s) are the most common at swap meets, so some combo of those would be nice (doesn't need to have all of them), as that's what members will mostly be raising.

If that's something you feel you might be interested in, and can provide your pricing & an example of your style so I can bring it to them and tell them I want them to pay you to give me things for the site and/or association at large.

But they also liked the idea of a plain badge logo like this one (because they don't live and breathe peafowl I assume, it's the only explanation)

Eddie Diaz

I know that Eddie doesn't have Ryan's map&compass tattoo in the show but I love that tattoo on Ryan so I included it on Eddie. I chose this hair for him bc I wanted to like blend the length it's at now with his s6 style a little bit- very floofy yet tidy, but also not a schoolboy or slicked back to the gods.

I think I spent hours trying to get JLH's face as perfect as I could in-game and honestly I don't hate the outcome? like it's definitely NOT perfect by any means, but I think Maddie is one of my favorite sims in terms of how she turned out.

Chimney is where things started to go a little downhill for me... I don't know why, but after HOURS of working, I just cold not get him right so I eventually had to sit back, take a deep breath, and say 'this is as good as it's gonna get.' I'd like to issue my formal apology to Kenneth Choi for this <3 (pls don't judge too harshly I swear I tried)

Karen Wilson

Karen, like Chimney, was a sim I spent HOURS on trying to get right, but for some reason I just could not for the life of me perfectly replicate Tracie's face... and unfortunately when I first made these sims (a LONG time ago) there wasn't a hair that fit Karen perfectly until (imo) THIS one came with the Lovestruck Expansion pack... I did make the executive decision to give her light brown hair rather than the blonde/brown she actually has, because the blonde in-game looked weird on her. I know these aren't her classic dreads, but I feel like they evoke the general vibe of hers better than some of the options we have in-game.

so Hen turned out being one of my favorites. I really love the outfits I picked out for her (bc lets be honest Hen loves wearing some of the WILDEST fits on the show) but unfortunately, this game hates to give female sims just plain slacks that are higher-waisted, so I was stuck with a cc pair that don't quite match but what can I do

I have a love-hate relationship with this sim because I spent so much time trying to perfectly replicate Corrinne's face, but no matter what I did there was always something that was always just the tiniest bit off... she's definitely not the worst of these sims though

The formatting is off in a few parts, some things that don't make sense with what we are told in the movies, sections of the art book that assume we saw something on the movie that we didn't- I may do a post about it because looking at this book somehow gave me more questions than answers.

But that's a story for another post, let's go!

This one is right at the end, as part of the decoration between the walls of the book and the pages itself; it shows the entire city, but I focused on them for obvious reasons.

Also because the ending shot of this particular scene is one of my favourites in all the movie and seeing it in it's concert art form means a lot to me.

These two were in between pages at the beginning, the text talks more about the general process on the movie than them, so not a lot we can say.

Still lovely, I honestly wish we had more of Gwen and Miles swinging across New York, there is something beautiful and enchanting not only in them moving around in a way only a spider-hero can do, but also almost like a dance between these two.

Not so much ghostfloweer, but I still liked this pic of them together in Hobie's world.

The book acts as if we were suppose to see this world so one of those crazy things about this art book is seeing the stuff that was in the movie before it was cut.

Honestly the making-of this movie would either be insane or extremely edited because this is nuts.

Oh ho ho, we are getting to the MEAT.

Okay, I don't read Scripts very often, but the times I had has been interesting, specially since a lot of times it can reveal some small gags that either got cut on the movie, or that things that were in plain sight that you didn't notice. DEFINITELY will be reading the Script for this movie once I get my hands on it.

In this pic, it shows a deleted joke, either this was going to be in the cut of the movie when the book was in development, or it was left there but was already planned on being scrapped.

What I like about this deleted dialogue is that it shows, once again, that Gwen isn't always at the top of her game. As cool as she can be, she is still a teen who hasn't figured everything out.

I honestly find her more endearing trying to stick the landing and failing that just being cool and collected all the time.

Sorry for the long box of text, wasn't sure where to cut. There are two parts in this I want to highlight.

"They're both trying to impress each other,"

I found this extremely cute because while Miles trying to keep up with her and impress her is obvious (Just like everything else with Miles, as a said, the boy wears his heart in his sleeve and we love him for it,) but to be honest I didn't think Gwen was trying to do the same.

Now I imagine Gwen looking around this New York and trying to see what she could do to impress Miles- I love these earnest dorks.

The awkward gazelle part is also pretty much present in the movie; however I do like the comparison on how Miles himself knows now more than ever what he is capable of, which really shows in the rest on the movie, including in the train chase scene.

(Not really Ghostflower, but I LOVE how Miles never doubt on himself despite what he heard, need to talk about that eventually.)

There is not much I want to analyze here as much as to, emphasize it?

Analyzing this movie so much and so often has really gotten to appreciate it to a whole new level, even if during said process I was able to see more of the mistakes and issues underneath.

This scene is really this and more, and what is astonishing is that is not that they are capturing the essence of the scene in some words, but rather come with the concept and create said scene, which is a lot more complicated.

And yet they pulled it off beautifully.

I really liked to highlight this part because 1) I and everyone else may need to start paying close attention to lighting because wow that detail is extremely cool, and 2) It really highlights a whole new layer to this scene.

They are getting close, both physically and emotionally, yet all the things they hide, how they hide themselves in a way, gets in the way of what they truly want. Is amazing because is a struggle that in the details is very much Spiderman, but below it is so human. Which honestly, part of the reason Spiderman as a whole as become so beloved over the years.

(Side note: Stan Lee decided to make Peter Parker in a era where superheroes were adults who basically could do anything, so coming with a teen who would also had teen issues was something that got people calling Stan nuts. Crazy how things how it worked out I'm right?)

Different stages development of this scene because of course I needed to include this, even if i can't say much of it really.

Not much to say here, except that this brief goes beautifully with the next excerpt of the book that I enjoyed.

"At that moment, anything is possible for the two of them." Isn't all of this phrased so beautifully?

While not telling us anything new, I want to relish in this little bits that just makes the scene feel so much whole as you read this.

How both Gwen and Miles don't want this to end, to keep the warmth between them going, to just linger because neither of them want to let the other one go. Frozen in place unable to move forwards for thall the unsaid things, yet refusing to move back.

They are lovely.

And that's all I have for them sadly! This book was extremely odd, it was very much lacking a lot of Miles and Gwen (Which kind of tracks, art books go mostly about design and their design's haven't change much,) but the fact that most of this information was at the end, alongside other things, makes me curious about what the heck went down while making this.

Or other stuff because is not the first time we see the remnants of the other versions of this movie peaking by.

The answer is Yes to both of your questions, Anon lol My entire life is dedicated to everyone failing NNN and succeeding at DDD.

I draw for a living! And I spend pretty much the entire day drawing:  I spend the first chunk of the day either working on commissions or on our personal projects, then I take a break to write replies (not sure if it’s a break...), then I finish up stuff for us to post (it’s previously made sketches, I mostly just need to clean them up, fix them a little and throw some colours on them; sometimes it takes longer, sometimes it takes a couple of hours), and then I sketch.

I am honestly very grateful and lucky to be able to produce so much art on a daily basis, and opportunities like these unfortunately never last forever, so I would like to do my best and keep posting fun stuff for all of you while it’s possible and fun to do. I am happy where I am at in terms of this stuff, and insanely lucky to draw twst boys for commission work as well.

Hi Anon! I talked about it a tiny little bit in this reply, but that post was mostly about me accepting the fact that I want to draw smut mentally lol I’ll talk a little bit about my actual learning process here!

My first attempts at drawing this kind of stuff were very awkward, which is obvious and perfectly natural. It felt wooden, stiff, like I had no idea what I was doing but I desperately wanted to make it look good, but didn’t have any tools for it. For the record, this was my skill level when I first started drawing smut.

My very first attempts were very inspired by one specific artist that drew cute yaoi pics, so I pretty much copied some poses from them to get myself familiar with how this whole thing works. At first I didn’t even draw any genitalia, just… wooden bodies smushed together lol

I was miserably bad at it at first, but I feel like something shifted in a couple of years, which incidentally was around the time we got into a bunch of very cool R18 artists, including Mentaiko (Itto). Even though my own artstyle is nothing like Itto’s, the way he draws bodies is so spectacular, I learned a lot from his works. I really encourage you to read Priapus if you haven’t already lol And I studied it as well by redrawing parts of my favourite frames, staring at the pages a lot, trying to draw something similar myself. Studying things that you yourself find hot makes you better at drawing hot stuff – go figure…

And to be honest, I feel like this is still the main thing that I do. I found my sketches from a couple of years ago where I just drew like 40 different vaginas being fingered from all the art that I liked lol It’s a very long learning process. But when it comes to tips, here is what I can say:

Study things that you find hot as much as possible; be it art, doujins, 3d gifs, irl stuff – anything. And try to keep in mind what exactly are you currently analysing and studying: the anatomy, the colouring, the ideas, the poses; all those could be studied separately.

Sometimes I scroll through a lot of irl porn just to get some poses ideas. Don’t take too much time doing it though, like very quick tiny sketches that only take like a minute or so. Just as a little reminder that yes, this pose also works like this. Or when it’s at this angle, the leg goes like this. All those little details are important to remember.

You don’t have to draw the entire body and stress about it; you only have to draw the sexy part and indicate which character it is somehow! You don’t have to show any faces either, as long as it’s easy to see who’s fucking lol

Squishing and pulling are your friends. Bodies are soft… sometimes a drawing with bad anatomy still works because the butt is squeezed too deliciously to look away. You can study hands squishing things or parts of the flesh squishing against each other separately, it’s very helpful.

Make everything very very moist. Add dripping sweat and other liquids, add saliva, tears, a lot of wet surfaces and bright highlights. A lot of drawings feel not hot enough because they’re too dry… that’s my bias though!

i think you're neat! Because you have so many stories and everything, and all of them are well written, and you update a big giant one regularly, while having to work and everything? Like how man! I normally don't talk to people this often even, but the hyperfixation came in with a steel chair I guess. I haven't even properly gone and listened to epic yet, even though I've been vaguely interested for a while, but cuz of you I just might when I actually have time. (I have so many pieces of media I still have to get to augh) I have content for the story itself tho cus of the regular Odyssey n all so at least I'm not going into things completely blind. (The songs I know best in epic are Scylla {cuz of an animation by an animator I like a lot, which was for Roblox pressure. [A game I haven't played] Its pretty good :∆} and god games, which I just watched various people's animations/animatics for. Other than that I haven't listened to a full song. At least I have content for Athena being lightninged I guess??) I'm jealous cuz you're such a good writer? And you write so much somehow? If I had like 5% of your writing ability I wouldn't be struggling in English class cuz then I could actually finish and turn in an essay that's been haunting me for weeks now. (Why am I writing this and reading 100000 word long fics instead of writing it right now? Even looking at the document makes me want to violently remove my flesh and run off into the woods to become an environmental storytelling skeleton unless the stars align and I gain motivation for assignments, so I'm avoiding it because writing while trying to prevent your bones from leaving isn't exactly fun 😊) god, I've got stories in my brain that would be fun to tell, but I don't have the energy to write stuff so I just walk in circles thinking for like two hours looking like I'm possessed. I only write ideas down here cuz I'm half decent at characterization in that I can look at a character from [insert media here] or my own brain and go "your favorite fruit is probably oranges because reasons", and that's easier than doing plot stuff. You inspire me so much man, it's very cool :]

Remember to take care of your health first and foremost, and that includes mental health. Don't force yourself to write if you're not doing alright, you're doing this for free for random strangers on the internet. We can wait for a long time if necessary, put yourself first. And if you lose motivation it's alright to shelve your ideas for a while. If you feel bad about leaving things unfinished, you could just write a guideline kinda summary of where the story was planned to go, and leave that there until you potentially pick it back up again. (<Worst case scenario, Lord knows I've lost motivation for stuff halfway through) Like, "Athena suffers, found family shenanigans happen, Athena suffers 2: electric boogaloo, someone stabs Zeus in the face with a butter knife and he dies a bunch, confetti 🎉, the end" so people have a general idea of what happens, and can be clinically insane about it for a while y'know?

Funny story about my mental health, so my programming professor is very young add kinda lax and cool and in our first lesson he was like “at the beginning of every lesson we'll do a little check in while we talk about how we are doing today” (which that is some therapy shit found that very funny) so the two girls for me talk a little bit about themselves as we are supposed to but they don't really say how they're doing and so I do that too because I wasn't sure how the social convention thingy worked right now. So he looks at me directly and asks me and how are you doing?  and I kid you not one of my friends afterwards goes like “of all people of course he asked you must have been the vibes.” And the worst thing about it is that she was completely right about that and I had thought the same thing.

sheesh, your secrets post reminded me about this series of events that happened to me some years ago. i’ve probs never told this whole story but here goes:

so i was in this situationship with a guy and only two of my (then) best friends knew about it. one of my best friends became part of the same friend group that my situationship was from (i’d introduced her to that group and she did it behind my back. i did not care about that tho).

what i did not also know was that the guy i was seeing had a long distance girlfriend and i was ”the other woman”. the whole friend group knew about it, including my best friend and no one told me.

my situationship went to shit because i had a feeling that something was off and the guy kept giving major redflag vibes. couple of months after i found through facebook (lol) that my former situationship had had this gf behind my back and i decided to tell the gf because i was absolutely mortified. told my best friend that i was gonna do it and she went behind my back to tell the gf about me. obvi the gf blocked me before i could contact her and i was confused af. my best friend just told be that it must be that my ex-situationship must’ve come clean to her with his version of events or some shit.

time went on and i drifted off from my best friend because she was acting off all the time + started to date one guy from the friendgroup who she’d been trying to impress. suddenly she didn’t have anytime to even text me bc she was 24/7 with the guy. decided that if she is happy, then it’s all okay. also i should have realised what was going on when i saw pics of my former bff and ex-situationships gf on social media but i’d already moved on in my life.

year and a half later my ex-situationship wanted to talk to me. his guilt was eating him and he told me that my former bff had known about the relationship whole time and after having a talk with my ex-situationship had agreed to keep it all from me. when i’d later found about the relationship and told my former bff that i was gonna go talk to the gf, she’d gone straight to my ex-situationship and promised to support him in any version of story he wanted to tell the gf.

i obviously did not believe my ex at all. told him that he’s just trying to get back to my good graces but then came the proof. he had messages, voice memos, everything.. he also told me that he and his gf were not on talking terms with my ex bff and his bf anymore and showed proof.

told him thanks for telling but that it really doesn’t matter anymore, saved all of the messages and stuff but also told him that i’d found out later on that he was a serial cheater (from an external source) and that i want nothing to do with him. i knew he was just trying to absolve some guilt he had and i was just means to an end.

the big secret is that i never confronted my former bff about it, so she does not know that i know what she did for months behind my back just because she wanted to date my ex’s bff.

she contacts me in once a 3-6 months asking how i am and that she misses me. we talk some but we have not seen each other in like over 4 years.

Woah that must have been awful to find out for you! I hope you’re doing better with it all today and with the distance to the situation as you’ve said 🫶🏻Thank you for sharing this with me! I must say I was quite speechless when I first read it.. what an awful thing to do to a friend, best friend even.

Personal update 😃

I have not done a personal update for quite some time, so here it is! Today, I dreamed that it was suddenly the 1st of December and I had nothing prepared for my advent calendar yet and was feeling in over my head and thinking "Do I really want to do this again?!" Maybe my brain telling me to actually prepare patterns ahead of time this year and to start early? 🤔 I'll keep that in the back of my mind. I actually finally got Sims 4 running (let's see how long until the next patch breaks everything, maybe I have a few days left). I only want to play with tons of mods, which break all the time and are a pain to update, so I only do that procedure once or twice a year. When I actually get to play, I really like to immerse myself for a while until it is all over again. The funny thing is that I actually have fun playing because so many aspects are new to me (having fun in TS4 is almost unheard of, but apparently it can really happen 😆). Building and CAS are so much fun too! I'm not exactly a gameplay blog and not sure how many of you want to see TS4 on here anyway, so I doubt there will be many pics. I get super frustrated whenever I try to make sims in TS3 CAS, I guess I do not have some of y'all skills or the right CC at times (or do not know how to use it properly). In Sims 4, everything can be solved with a few skin overlays and I feel the weird head shape proportion thing that is so off in Sims 3 does not apply there, which makes everything easier. I do miss patterns though 🥲 I have been pretty preoccupied with other hobbies lately, I've been on a serious style rediscovery with my best friend, we discovered this style system called the Style Key and it is all about giving yourself permission to try out new things and your personal needs when choosing styles, which is really refreshing to all the systems that tell you "you cannot wear that with your body type!" So I've been trying things I did not actually dare to wear, like cute/playful outfits in pastel shades. I may wear the styles now that teenage me was too shy to wear and it feels great! I do not care anymore what other people may think about it. I recently discovered those colorful chunky plastic rings which surprisingly look good on me. I always felt like I could never really make jewelry work on me, and tried the tiniest minimalist pieces because everything felt "too much", but I have never tried the other extreme, the big chunky stuff because I told myself "that could never work". Turns out that trying out stuff instead of limiting myself feels really great and yields surprising results! And I feel more confident too because my outfits are fun and make me happy, and I am more relaxed if I feel happy too. In the Style Key system, I think I'm a Ruby (left-down quadrant) and I think the archetype "Spicy Girl Next Door" fits pretty nicely for me. The biggest takeaway for me is the realization that outfits have to "feel right" for me, not for anybody else and I do not dress to please anyone, but to help me feel good in my own skin and take into account my comfort needs and feelings on that day when I choose what to wear. The Style Key is not a system that tells you exactly what to wear, but it helps you figure out what you need your style to do for you and go from there. It's a bit daunting to get into because it is really so different from other systems and includes rather abstract theory/unusual concepts that are not really that intuitive, but the videos on the youtube channel really help to explain those concepts.

I also still work on some Python projects, but they're still a long way off from amounting to anything. But it's where I can use my problem-solving skills and just tinker around. I just really need something to bite my teeth into every now and then and that is perfect for it. 😊

I'm not a fan of Louis. I'm not a fan of their friendship or any relationship between the two of them, and I never was.

I was once a fan of 1D and liked all the other members as well, but when the band went their separate ways, I became a fan of Harry and Niall as solo artists. No one else.

2- I'm not a shipper of any kind

I want Harry (and Niall) to be happy doing whatever it is he chooses to do. I do think he wants to find love because he has alluded to it, so I'll always support his relationships and root for him in that regard, but I'm not someone who gets invested in his relationships. The only reason I'm talking about them is this project.

3- I do not own the truth.

The only people who know what happened, in terms of the band, their friendship, the relationships we'll discuss here, are those involved in them. I don't know anything for sure and don't claim to know it either. I try to be as factual as possible and stick to the things that are public knowledge, interpreting them in the best way possible. When I draw conclusions, I make sure to point out that they're educated guesses.

I don't think there's anything wrong with theorizing as long as you're respectful about it, not overly invasive, don't try to bend the truth to fit whatever bias you have, and accept it when you're proven wrong. If you get new information that contradicts a previously held belief, the correct reaction is to change that previously held belief, not sticking to it.

4- I never want to be invasive.

The information I'm working with is public knowledge and widely spread. I don't have access to private information and I wouldn't want it if it was made available to me anyway. My sources are pap and fan pics, social media, media outlets, interviews, and stuff like that. If anything I ever include is private, I promise you it's unintentional and I wasn't aware, and I'll appreciate it if you can point it out so I can exclude it (I don't think it's gonna happen because I'm careful to avoid that, but I'm not infallible).

There are also certain things I don't want to mess with, such as children and family issues. I may skirt around that sort of thing, and I hope you understand why.

5- The purpose of this is to shed light to parts of the truth Larries are lied about or omit.

In my years in fandom, I have met and talked to my fair share of ex Larries, and one thing most of them had in common was communicating that they felt like they were working with half-truths. The masterposts, the videos, the timelines, everything they read and consumed on Larry, was skewed, out of context, and used a lot of fallacies.

There used to be a lot of "anti" resources, but the blogs have been deleted, or privated, or flagged. Links have gone bad, pictures have been lost. Also, Larrie arguments have changed and evolved.

The point of these posts is a resource for both Larries who are willing to challenge their beliefs, leave the echo chamber, and look at the other side, and normal fans (I don't like the term "anti") who want or need tools to talk to Larries themselves.

And yes, part of that is their relationships. There are masterposts about some of them, for sure, but they have a very shippy tone that doesn't really... work. I don't judge people who "ship" real people. I don't get it, but I don't judge it. I just don't think that sort of content would help in this context.

6- Why do I hate the word "anti"?

Well, I hate it because I don't like my space in fandom being defined by what I'm not, especially considering "what I'm not" is a believer on a conspiracy theory. I'm a normal fan. Any normal fan who doesn't believe in a conspiracy theory would by default be an anti, because it's not positive or fun or good for your favorite artist or their loved ones to be the subject of this sort of thing. There's no such thing as "neutral." It also impacts fandom spaces quite negatively. Almost every person who has fans that do this has spoken against it in one way or another.

If you care about an artist and you don't buy into whatever conspiracy theory has been cooked up about them, then you're most likely gonna be against it.

7- Why am I spending time doing this?

Because I find the human brain fascinating. I find the system of beliefs in conspiracies to be both terribly frustrating and utterly intriguing. I want to explore what makes people believe this sort of thing and find the best ways to dismantle it (all the while knowing I'm unlikely to succeed, but enjoying the process regardless).

I also really enjoy talking about pop culture in general. I've been a fan (of Harry's and other artists) since I was a literal child, and I retain information pretty easily, so putting it all down feels a bit like emptying my brain, a little bit like a relief. Of course, that regardless of how well I retain information, there are a lot of things that are common knowledge that I'm simply not gonna know or remember, and it gives me another type of "relief" to reveal a previously held blind spot, so doing research for this project has been fun.

It's not that fun to put it into words, and that's the part I struggle with the most, which is why this might take forever to complete.

Ok so actually my house is always a menagerie at any given moment and its chaos and like I love animals and I love my family but I at the moment I can not wait to leave this whole zoo behind because things are never calm ever. Like we have five animals that live here full time and my mother has a dog boarding business so in addition to the main cast of characters we have a whole bunch of side characters that have stayed like a couple weeks sometimes? (Literally if you're looking for peace and quiet ever, you won't find it here).

Also got most of these for my phone and i can tell i am more cat person than dog person because I have two videos of the actual puppy, two photos of my other dog and like more decent photos of the cats. So let me introduce you to the whole main cast of characters:

^ This is Benji. Maltese poodle mix. We've had him since he was about 7 months old? Couple years old now and has started going into old man routine. He's very talkative and likes to make his opinion known and make sure that we greet every guest properly with due enthusiasm. Sorry to all the people who have been to my house and he's jumped on them we're trying its hard. He's currently in 4H Obedience club with my sister who adores him entirely (he puts up with her as he settles into his old man era). Fun fact about him: mans gets entirely jealous when any other dog recieves more attention than him (how dare they).

I actually don't have any good photos of Rosie (not named after @igotthisaccountunderduress, I swear but that's why I can only call you Iggy now), so take a video of our newest recruit! She's a three months old puppy? maybe four? idk how time works. She's learning a lot of things and mom's having a blast training her from scratch as we got her from a breeder rather from like a shelter as with all our other pets (my mother is obssesed with animals but wanted to do all the ground work of raising a puppy and making sure it was socialized/housetrained etc. Kudos to her because I could never. My mom is really awesome and I don't know where she finds time for this). Anyway she's kind of in her destructive menace stage still but also she hops around and it's really funny. We aquired this one after our old Corgi/lab/otherquestionable things (I just realized I don't have any pics of him) passed away from cancer. She is also the first female pet we have owned since I was a baby (mainly by coincidence I swear but it's just funny).

And now we get on to the cats. There are three of them so I'm going to start with oldest to youngest.

This is Zorro (my favorite) out of all the cats. He was acquired shortly after George when we found mice in one of our old houses. He put up with George, but after mom started getting more and more animals into the house Zorro became more and more fed up and trying to get out and away from all the whippersnappers so he's an outdoor cat now (don't worry he has an electrically heated house and is fed wonderfully and is still living his best life). He's also the only one who will actually sit on my lap and let me pet for long periods of time (I love him he's my favorite, when I move out for reals I kind of want to take him with me so he can get as pampered as he wants in his older years but IDK how much he would like adjusting back to indoor life again). He's very grumpy old man but like would die for him yk? Bebe.

This is Rocky (short for Rocket, although no one ever calls him that ever.) The reason he is called Rockey is that when we brought him home there was so much fighting and indecision over what we should call him (including much bribery and corruption when my dad tried to call a democratic vote -> one of my siblings tried selling his vote for a snickers) so we ended up just by calling him by the nickname he was given at the shelter. And it stuck. Rocky kinda forgets he is a cat sometimes and acts more like the dogs that he grew up around like by wagging his tail and like chirps instead of a proper meow. He also can never sit like a normal cat and I find him curled up in probably the most strangest positions known to man that can't be comfortable (i have a few pics but not nearly enough of all the ones he does)

This is Tigger. Tigger came from my Grandma tricking us into taking the psycho. Do not let his baby face fool you this cat is a menace to society. He was with a friend of my grandma's who liked antagonizing him and taught him to play really rough and maybe neglected him? Which is really sad because it taught him so many bad habits that means he is the menace that he is. Anyway, parents got him while I was away at college and adopted him on my birthday (when i wasn't there). But even though none of the human peoples like him all that much, Rocky does and also we would all feel really guilty about rehoming him because if we rehomed him he'd probably be euthanized or something because he's not a friendly cat. Or rather, let me put it this way. I think he's very friendly he's just too violently playful. His favorite game is hiding in like darkened corners and under covered tables and then jumping out and scratching/biting people (traumatized lil 7yo sis bc of it so she stays far away from him now). The funniest thing is that he'll still keep the baby face and he looks like he has no thoughts behind his eyes and the next thing you know he's clawing off your hand. We've been trying to train the agression out of him but it's really not as easy as training dogs.

like don't get me wrong I love murder cat (as I have dubbed him) but also I fear him and he knows it. However his eternal baby face gives me much meme material so he do pull his own weight around the house. He's also the only cat to have ever caught and killed a mouse inside. So we're grateful to him and glad he's part of our family but he's more effective than either of our dogs if a burglar breaks in. Actually, I should put the other pic here as well.

He may look cute but don't believe him. It's all part of his plan to get you in your sleep. (JK JK, murder cat, if you learned to read and are watching me as you sit behind me, please know that I do love you even though you frustrate me to know end pelase don't eat me).

Bonus: some very raw (still alive) baby birbs found by a friend of mine. Still alive as far as im aware. Also all of them are at my school so thankfully far away from my murderous pets.

I’m looking for people to every so often inquire how I’m holding up/hold me accountable to the following:

After years of a calorie dense (and boring) diet due to long covid severe nausea for the last 3.5 years, mixed in with admittedly heavy alcohol (they say trauma can hit out of the blue even years later, sad to say it’s true) use in the last year… I am ashamed to say I gained all the weight I’d originally lost and then some from my last time.

It embarrasses me to say I started at 245 yesterday.

I walk my dogs twice a day but they don’t make it much of an exercise, though I get on my indoor cycle for 30mins at least 4x a week.

Tried Ozempic, made my nausea explode.

I don’t really have the energy to throw in a higher pace walk for myself on top of my dog walks. Fibromyalgia and long covid are exhausting.

But I’m starting Nutrisystem again (jerks won’t ship frozen foods to Canada!!! so, just the plain, preserved ones) and hoping the structure will help me physically and mentally. I lost a routine and really need one back, and one of my own, not revolving around someone else’s.

So far, first night, 2lbs lost, though that will slow down after the first 7-10 days.

Besides decreasing my pain levels, losing weight would make me eligible for breast reduction surgery (another thing keeping me from, say, jogging, or just… existing without pain in general).

I’ll include a few photos of my starting weight/as I gained weight, and a few of my goal size as inspiration.

But what I wouldn’t mind if someone checks in once in a while and asks how the weight loss is doing. If any of you do that (along with @cuthian my dear one) I’d be supremely grateful. A support network is key, especially with the alcoholism which I am entirely ashamed of.

My biggest indicators are my face (rounder, plumper, double chin)(and my beer belly from drinking, now) and so comparing face to face seems a good starting goal to grab onto. I mean… I have a cute chin! I want that back.

Sadly, one of my medications adds about 15lbs total… but I got down to 180lbs last time I tried this even with my medication. So it’s doable. And my parents are paying for the Nutrisystem again, on the oath of no more alcohol and I try my best.

Though I will fight anyway who doesn’t include me in special family dinner with shawarma wraps, but I got the calories sorted, yay! Just some extra exercise.
