Danmei and Baihe C Novels and Manhua Officially Licensed in English

Things are getting licensed fast enough that keeping a list like this up-to-date is basically impossible, but I saw someone asking in the tags so I figured I'd try. All titles are danmei unless otherwise noted (very little baihe is licensed so far). I've included Chinese titles, but sometimes publishers change the original titles so much that I can't track them down, apologies. I've hit the link limit on this post so I've had to remove NovelUpdate links, but they're still in the version of this post on Wordpress. Note that Taiwanese titles are not included on this list.

This is everything I know of as of October 24, 2024. There might be more. I tried. Resources used to compile this list: Danmeinews.com; this Carrd, last updated in March 2023; this other carrd last updated October 23 2024; list of danmei with official licenses on NovelUpdates; a similar list on Goodreads; danmei-specific list on Reddit that to my eye looks accurate for the larger publishers but isn't thorough for some of the smaller ones.

Seven Seas:

These titles are in various stages of publication, from "entire series released" to "license literally announced less than a week ago." As far as I know, all Seven Seas titles are available world-wide, through major distributors and libraries, and in e-book and print formats. Seven Seas translation quality varies but the editing is general strong and the editions are sturdy and nice. Note that Seven Seas isn't without controversy, especially for treating their contractors poorly resulting in them unionizing. Some people have also been unhappy with the fidelity of their translations compared to the original Chinese (I've been satisfied personally but ymmv).

Rosmei:

Rosmei licenses are Singapore distribution rights only. There is a list of international partners organizing group orders here. I've personally placed my orders through Yiggybean, as discussed in reply to this ask. Most of these titles are only being released as print editions, tho titles that weren't originally on JJWXC (of which there are several here) WILL have e-book editions. My first book from Rosmei arrived, and I found the translation and editing to be very strong. I can't speak to how accurate it may be to the Chinese original, but it read smoothly and had very few errors. Overall, though they've made some mistakes, they've been communicative and responsive.

In my opinion, Peach Flower House has inconsistent inconsistent editing quality, but the books are very readable, and I'm excited that they're working with translators such as E. Danglars. I haven't bought any of their special editions so can't speak to their extras, but I've bought all their print translations and will continue to do so going forward.

when i first joined the link click fandom (which was like a week ago - hello) i was confused why there was a "shiguang" tag bc that's just the first word of the chinese name for it 时光 which means time (i'm a noob at mandarin - i'm only hsk 1 bare with me T^T) but then i found out it was cheng xiaoshi and lu guang's ship name (i saw someone call it their yaoi tag which i personally love)

which is another thing bc cxs's name in characters is 程小时。程 is just his surname (which sure will have a meaning - my surname has a meaning even - but as it's just his surname so i'm going to ignore it), 小 means small and together with 时 means hour (时 is linked to time so literally small time i guess?)

and you'll never guess what i'm about to say now (/s) bc lg's name in characters is 陆光。someone who's better at chinese than me can say what it means with certainty but my chinese dictionary tells me that 光 means light (like 太阳光 which means sunlight) as an a noun and "all gone", "used up" and "nothing left" as a verb... (also bright as an adjective - 光闪闪 means shiny or gleaming) and may i just remind you that season 1 episode 11 is called 帶着光的��� (the episode was called pinnacle of light in english)!!!

now this is where i'm 100% letting the chinese-speaking community come for me bc i'm being a little silly but if you put their names together (we get time literally: 时光) but if 时 refers to time and 光 refers to things being "all gone" or "used up" etc. then time is all gone...

GUYS, LOOK! My gf @copypastus printed my favorite ACOTAR fanfic for our anniversary! A Court of Lies and Resurrection by @ashintheairlikesnow! It's made to look like the original paperbacks in style and appearance, same font and everything. They didn't have the embossing or quite the same format at the printing place, but the cover text is shiny and other than that it's fitting in perfectly. It's freaking AMAZING (like the fanfic deserves, it's seriously so good you guys).

Sooooo... I have played two different playthroughs of the spring semester and adore this game to peaces. I played one fall and one spring personality, both crushing on Percy... but at the end of it, the fall personality ended up closest to Elio. It certainly made sense, at least, but it kind of made me think.

Do the personality types actually make a difference in terms of romance? If not, which personality types do you think would be best suited for each li? If there is a best type, anyway.

nope, not at all! haha. we've said it before a good handful of times, but the personalities really have no bearing on how the characters feel about you: it just changes how you respond to them and they, in return, respond to you. your affection levels are entirely dependent on the choices you make or don't make in the game.

Had an angsty thought about P falling in love with reader whose staying in the hotel and using that as a sort of motivation to continue to try and become human because lord above he wants nothing more than to actually feel for them, like really feel for them, and he's fairly sure that [for reasons he doesn't quite understand] that the "love" is mutual. But also reader has such unstable attachment issues that don't really manifest in a noticeable/harmful way until P actually confesses his feeling for them and reader just fucking. breaks his newly formed heart because holy shit they cannot do that. Readers so convinced they can't love him in a way that's good, or at all really, and P is so so confused and upset because reader has been acting like what he thought someone in love would act like. And P still feels such a strong disconnect between himself and humans still because even if he is human now he obviously still doesn't understand anything about them and-
