(Oh frick there actually is a tag limit so my last ten to twenty tags got cut off!) but basically the last part was talking about how all the characters I write, even the fanfiction (non original) characters, get a little piece of my heart. This post was me drabbling about a shelved original project that I stopped working on years ago, and I was having big feelings at 3 am because of this post

daily koss #29: if we only have one shot… better make it count, right?

Since I started on the 18th of February, today marks the one month anniversary of me drawing these wretched old men every day!!! I wanted to make something special for it, so I tried my hand at a comic (even though I am NOT good at comics—dear god, paneling is so unintuitive for me that I ended up wrangling this into a webtoon format just to avoid it).

Despite the increasing level of render and polish on my dailies over the past two weeks, this is the first time I’ve really, actually tried to flex my art muscles and apply my braincells to a piece 😂 Here’s to hoping my work paid off! I have now, officially, moved from low-effort shitposts to real-effort seriousposts 😔

(Also, if you’ve never read a webtoon before, hopefully the long-scroll format wasn’t too jarring! >_<)

A meta aspect I love about KOSS is that Transformers is a multi-timeline franchise: Knock Out and Starscream exist across multiple different continuities, sometimes alongside each other, sometimes not. But they only really ‘work’ in TFP, despite them both having other characters as constants (Breakdown, Megatron). If this were any other world, and they were any other versions of themselves, they might not even have been coworkers—just ships passing in the night.

And yet, the perfect storm of random events led to them being in one thing together, with a compelling dynamic at that (even an entire episode that puts it on blast!!!). Sometimes I think about how, according to the TFP artbook, Knock Out was originally conceived as something of a counterpart to Bumblebee—another fast, pretty car, except a villain this time—but the writers ended up fleshing out his relationship with Starscream the most. I wonder what the thought process behind that was—did the devs find their dynamic fun to play with as well?—and whether the two would get more moments together if Prime wasn’t cancelled…

But I digress! The fact I discovered TFP in the first place is the cherry on top of the serendipity-cake; I never imagined I’d ever get into Transformers, but one impulsive ‘hey, what if we watched the new Transformers movie’ from Lacuna at 3AM in the dead of January changed the trajectory of my life.

I’ve always been really bad at committing to projects for over a month at a time—I often find myself burnt out and restless after only a few days, even. So to still have so much drive and inspiration to create fanworks—for KOSS, of course, but an assortment of other pairings and properties too—is such a novel and exciting experience. My tune may change at a moment’s notice (I can be very fickle), but for now I’m eager to keep scribbling on 🥰I already have something planned for the next week of Daily KOSS hehehe~

if I would put it, let’s say, on Webtoon (which I can’t) it kind of would be the same thing. A list if chapters, when you click on one it opens the chapter with the 10-20 panels and then you click the “next” to go to the next one.

i don’t think putting all chapters from one part would be nice since it would be a super duper long list of panels (and the page would take a lot to load with so many medias) and one Part of the comic contains multiple arcs.

i’m open to suggestions though!

no, his human form doesn’t have fangs, because his human form is just a kind of glamour/shapeshift. In the AU the monkey form became his normal form (since it always has been his original form to begin with)

And now in this part Mac appears butt-naked to help Wukong out, adding yet another layer of vulnerability...gah! (Maybe I should finally watch LMK because I feel I would be doubly obsessed with this comic then...)

For Mac being exposed was the last of his issues considering that what he was seeing was Wukong at his lowest and most naked. Now excuse me while I cry.

After getting beat up a bit she decides to drink the elixir so the robber couldn’t get it. But she instead went to the moon so she could be closer to her lover. Her husband dies because he’s still mortal, and Chang’E is left be herself. I have silly little headcanon the day MK and the others went to the moon was her and her husband’s anniversary 🙃 Bye <3

His favorite days are when classes of children come in for field trips. Wukong often paints the backdrops, scenery, and other items for plays. They both enjoy their hobbies.

honestly i think geunseo is such a fucking genius and I'm still amazed by the INSANE foreshadowing and how everything they planned made it into the novel's end

OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS FOR THE NOVEL'S LATER CHAPTERS!! (around 800th chapters)

anyway so there's this funny little thing that we find out at the end of the novel and it's that shj erased yj's memories of his time with him (and I'm not sure about stw, but it was either him being a lunar eclipse so he was also erased as well or if it was because he hung out with hjyj)

and there are hints about this from the start. first off is how well hyj is getting along with shj even though they've known each other for like a couple of months and everyone from yj & co never fails to be confused by that

then yj being confused as to why he finds shj so annoying and irritating even though technically he has treated him very well (aside from calling him his item) and doesn't fall for his charms like he should've. but he kinda just drops that though because he has more important things to do like find his dead brother or smth

the next big thing is shj getting some of his pre regression memories and switching places with prereg shj for a bit

and there's some foreshadowing for that too! in the lake dungeon with princesses and dragons when hyj was passed out shj thought that his face looked weirdly young and that being around 30 would suit him more. on the first reading i chucked it up to shj remembering pre regression a bit but then i thought a bit deeper and the fact that he thought that hyj's face should be 30 implied that he knew hyj at 30 and so remembered him as 30 and i was so excited and wanted to know more

then there was the thing in the webtoon where he was on his knees at his house and finally remembered his forgotten memories, there was this imagi and there you can see pre reg hyj and stw bleeding (probably from when he entered the dungeon with cresent moon with him)

and i got super excited but then that pre reg shj didn't even know that hyj was awakened and it was shj before he got involved with hyj

i thought something fun might happen in the mindscape but most of the stuff shj remembered was just his own powers and some common facts about the hunter world (hyh having black blood flames and the han brothers being on bad terms)

I'm not sure if he remembered that he was also involved with hyj and I don't think there was anything implying that, but he did congratulate him on mending their relationship, which was a pure guess

skip forward a bit since nothing much happened after that, but yj told hyh and yerim about regression and told yerim he didn't reconcile with hyh as early (lies) and that he only knew yerim from tv (doesn't know) so we're now at chinese dungeon arc and there's a shit ton of stuff to unpack god wow

first off i wanna start with yerim.

here we find out that hyj KNEW yerim before regression, but he gorgor. she didn't really mention how and when they met but since here she's 20, and hyj stopped replying to her a year ago, something happened to him at the age of around 29.

from this we also find out that they weren't too close but were casual enough and on friendly terms, although stopped talking and went their separate ways.

then we skip to hyj tea party with pre reg shj and this is when the real shit happens.

we find out that he indeed got his slimy hands on hyj and stw wasn't very pleased about that, unsurprisingly. but they spent SOME time together over more than one meeting. same with stw.

them he so kindly shared that hyj knew yerim too

honestly dunno what time period this shj is from, but it's from after stw's death. when he confronted hyj in chap 791 or 792 he had both his eyes and arms intact, but chinese dungeon shj doesn't have an eye. and later on somewhere before the regression happened he lost his arm too, which we found out when shj went on a literal self discovery journey with mari after the wedding arc.

then the bastard reveals some more of their meeting details n shit and i... i just want to know more uee

and he also revealed also that hyh didn't know about them meeting up since shj had an 'alibi' so he didn't bat an eye, but when stw got close to hyj he was fine with it.

but when hyh found out that yerim got close to hyj he went crazy and almost fought her and ig yj found out about that and pushed her away...

I'm guessing through allat hyh either didn't do or say anything to hyj at all or cursed him again for "causing him troubles" (fuck you asshole)

at first i thought that yerim didn't know about hjyj being close because she didn't interact with shj, but he actually made it so she didn't know, which now really makes sense (this was in chap 792 i think)

(although if there's one thing i still don't understand and that's the fact that hyj forgot yerim and stw along with shj. stw maybe cus he's so directly involved with hjyj's relationship, but honestly i have no clue why he forgot yerim as well)

my final thoughts on the whole thing is that it was so, so cruel of shj to erase his memories of his loved ones. he lost stw and forgot yerim and shj, who were close enough to him and who he cherished and loved. his days may have been painful and it was probably hard, but those people still made his life a little brighter for a short while. and for shj to just rip that away from him is... wow. talk about sacrificing yourself for the sake of your loved ones yet still failing. shj really took it to another level, damn.

but anyway IN CONCLUSION. the pre regression timeline (or my interpretation of it):

- at 25 yj awakens

- first year is ass and adaptation

- second year is the worst with association incident

- third year stuff stabilises but yj injures his leg and starts drinking

- somewhere around that time shj "goes abroad" and pays a visit to hyj in disguise (and gets a glass thrown at him)

- stw discovers that shj is into some random f rank and decides to protect him but it turns out that yj doesn't even know who shj is so he stays silent (hjyj keep meeting up and they gradually grow closer)

- hyj discovers shj's true identity but still keeps his relationship

- stw rats about hjyj to hyh

- that illegal dungeon butterflies incident happened which yerim took care of in the absence of hyh and shj (my assumption, hyj met her then and they got close)

- hyh finds out that hyj and yerim are close and almost gets in a fight with her

- after that hyj told yerim they shouldn't meet since it would be bad for her and they went their separate ways, sometimes keeping up through messages

- stw and shj enter the dungeon with cresent moon because his meetings with hyj make him overflow or some gay stuff, stw dies

- shj invites hyj to his house and erases his memories

- hyj stops contacting yerim after shj erases his memory and she doesn't pay it any mind because she was busy settling down so she kinda forgets (I'm assuming he doesn't contact her cus he also forgot her after the memory wipe)

- for about a year and a half hyj lives alone normally without his memories (according to shj he sent postcards to hyj from time to time but they didn't reach him)

-hyj enters a dungeon and hyh dies. then regression

Insane that the last Team Fortress 2 comic came out, and perhaps more insane is how effectively it resolves the themes of the story, considering the whole thing spun out of some silly gag comics for a first person shooter, which had a bunch of lore back-ported onto it, with this particular issue having spent nearly eight years in development hell...

I love video games, and I love trying to rationalise the insane logic of how they work using fiction. Or not even to rationalise, just to kind of like... take it at face value? There's a great bit in one of the Team Fortress 2 comics where the mercenaries are going to be fighting an army of robots (in the game's PVE mode) and, at that point in the story, Mann Co. is bankrupt, so they're not getting paid—but they're mercenaries, so why are they fighting? And Ms. Pauling just comes right out and says, "For reasons I can't comprehend or explain, the robots run on piles of money. Destroy them and whatever falls out is yours." Risk of Rain has a similar conceit, where the aliens explode into currency, something that's diegetically acknowledged in the in-game logs.

The comics also deserve serious credit for genuinely pushing the limits of the comic medium, by explicitly using the fact that this is something people are reading on their computers. You see Webtoons currently are doing something similar, optimised for phones with their infinite scrolling. Well, here everything's landscape, and you advance through the comic using the arrow keys or whatever, and there's all these little gags that rely on hiding a speech bubble at first, or tweaking a panel, or doing a jump-cut, which are borderline impossible to replicate in print (the closest thing traditional comics have as a tool is the page-turn, which some writers do use to great effect).

It might just be that Team Fortress 2 was one of the things that heavily informed my sense of humour at a formative age, but I still come back to it and think it's the funniest thing in the world. And a big part of what makes the humour work, for me, is that it is just barely grounded in the real world. When someone gets their hand cut off and it's played for laughs, they've still just had their hand cut off. All the blood and guts is right there to see. Characters like Spy and Ms. Pauling frequently ground the story in these bureaucratic material concerns—like, someone is having to go around burying all the bodies.

Which means that when the story takes something which genuinely started as nothing more than a joke, and uses it for pathos, those beats can actually hit home. The big example is the joke about Spy having sex with Scout's mom, which in the comics morphs into this running thread about Spy probably being Scout's father, which in turn plays into these themes of regret and cycles of violence... and that was obviously never planned from the start, even the early examples in the comics are very much within the realm of plausible deniability, but over time they're clearly like—well, what if that was the case? What then? It's such good yes-anding.

Certain characters—the Pyro and the Engineer—do get pretty short-changed, which I think is mostly because the other characters just lend themselves much better to the extremely dialogue-dense style of comedy. The Engineer spends most of the numbered issues completely sidelined, looking after the Administrator; I mostly played Engineer when I played the game, so I do find that a bit disappointing. I don't think the Sentry Gun even gets a look-in! But still, nine playable characters plus the supporting cast is a lot to keep track of, and I think they chose the right ones to focus on (Scout, Soldier, Spy, Heavy).

Part of what made Team Fortress 2 always appeal to me above and beyond any other first-person shooter was its obvious awareness that the fighting is not, in fact, good, or just, or meaningful, or anything other than a pointlessly cynical greed-fuelled slaughter over nothing. It's just these drab industrial sites and bodies being thrown at one another, on repeat, forever. I think if you want to take a multiplayer game like this and build up a narrative on top of it, it's kind of the only honest approach you can take. Seeing similar stories in this and in RoosterTeeth's Red vs. Blue around the same time left a big impression on me as a teenager.

Contrast Overwatch (of course), which always billed itself as a superhero story, which had clearly-defined good-versus-evil flavour, which purported to depict a global conflict of world-shattering stakes, where every single piece of fucking tie-in media was a saccharine sentimental little snoozefest where characters will say things like "Oh no!" unironically. In Overwatch, the playable characters come from all over the world, they're these collar-tuggingly direct stereotypes, and it's like... wow, the military-industrial complex is so inclusive, you guys! Meanwhile, Team Fortress 2 has stereotypes of its own, but the intent is so completely different. Sniper, Heavy, Demoman, Medic, Spy have these clearly-defined national backgrounds, but they've shed all nationalistic ties, civilized human society would shun them, and now all they can do is kill for money they will never have cause to spend.

And the supporting characters invented for the comic all support this theme of bitter, cynical hate, of pointless bickering and petty feuds. Brothers Redmond and Blutarch turn themselves into monsters trying to outlive each other solely out of spite, not even just to enjoy their lives for as long as possible! When Gray Mann offs them, his characterisation sees their mindless, stupid schemes replaced with cold rationalism, to match the Administrator's own ruthless efficiency, but the substance of their conflict is no different. I don't know. Overwatch was heavily billed on the quality of its worldbuilding and writing and characters (I was always like, what worldbuilding? What writing? What characters?), and like the many, many MCU films which nobody thinks about or talks about or cares about any more, I don't think I've ever seen someone actually talk about that media as art, except to point out its shortcomings. Nobody will remember any of it. Oh god, I just remembered about all the Overwatch porn. Okay, people will remember it, just not for the right reasons.

Meanwhile, I've known people over the last eight years who routinely joked about the final Team Fortress 2 comics never coming out. For something so ancillary, so inessential, to have made such a big impression on people, is something that in this case speaks to its success on a creative level. If anything, I wish it was less of a transmedia narrative, that this was just a single book I could pick up off the shelf and give to someone like "read this!" and that's all they'd need to know. Maybe I should try to compile some sort of reading list, hmm.

DPxDC Negativity

Hey this is just a friendly reminder that I'm going to put in the plainest terms that I can.

If you are telling people how they should and should not participate in fandom you are GATEKEEPING

If you are telling people that they need to read more comics before writing fanfic you are GATEKEEPING

If you are telling people that they need to do more research into canon in any form, whether that be reading wikis, reading comics, watching shows, whatever you are GATEKEEPING

If you are telling people that what they are writing is not canon compliant and therefore not a valid way to participate in fandom you are GATEKEEPING

Fandom is supposed to be fun

Fanfiction is supposed to be fun

We are not writing these stories for anyone but ourselves. And to tell someone that they are participating in fandom wrong is GATEKEEPING

There are plenty of fanfics in the DC only sphere and the DP sphere that are so far away from canon it's unreal and that's totally okay!

People are allowed to enjoy fandom in however the hell they please. If that means they are writing a crap ton of Batfam/Danny Phantom content and not very much Justice League/DP content, that's totally okay.

If someone read the Wayne Family Adventures Webtoon and decided that they want to write Danny being adopted into a loving and crazy Batfamily that is totally one hundred percent fine.

If someone wants to write Danny with abusive and neglectful parents guess what? they can.

If they want to write Vlad as being a nurturing and loving godfather to Danny, they can.

What I'm trying to explain to you all is that it's okay to write things that are not canon compliant. It's okay to write things that are so far away from canon it's not even recognizable--I mean have you even read a fantasy au or a no capes au? That's basically just slapping a characters name and face to an OC. And guess what? THAT'S OKAY.

It's also okay to want to see more people interact with the canon lore, to want to share resources and tell people about your special interests. But the moment you start doing it and it makes people feel bad-- even if that is not your intention you are GATEKEEPING.

Gatekeeping is defined as the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something.

By you telling others what they should and should not write, you are being a gatekeeper.

I get it, you want to share lore, you want to show that you know all these cool things about DC. You want more than just batfam and DP content. That's totally valid and really cool.

Do it yourself.

Don't take someone else's joy away simply because it's not what you want to see. They aren't writing it for you, they're writing it for themselves. You're just a lucky person who gets to see the beautiful works that they are putting time and effort into.

When I joined DPxDC I knew absolute shit about DC. Over the last year, I've read over 400 issues of the Batman comics, read all of the Red Robin series, and a smattering of random other comics with plans to read others. But when I started writing? I knew jackshit. My knowledge came from the Teen Titans cartoon, the Batman animated series, and vague memories of watching the Justice League animated series as a kid.

And if Dis from a year ago saw this gatekeeping shit, they would have never started writing for the fandom because they would have been too scared to be told they were doing it wrong.

Now? I'm writing DC only fics based off of what I learned in the comics and it's a lot of fun.

But I did that because I wanted to, I was starting to get more and more interested in DC and I wanted to know more. And I had access to pay for DC Infinite so that I could get access to the comics. Not everyone has that luxury.

Not everyone has the luxury of being able to read them from free sites either. Maybe they have to use a public computer that doesn't have ad blockers. Maybe their local libraries don't have access to the comics. You don't know what their situation is.

Maybe you're being well intentioned. Maybe you're just wanting to share your wealth of knowledge with the fandom. But remember, if just one person is getting hurt by your statements, that means you're no longer being helpful. You're being harmful. You're scaring off a new fan who was super insanely excited to start sharing their headcanons.

You're making people feel unwelcome. And that's not fucking cool.

Fandom is supposed to be a welcoming space for everyone, it's supposed to uplift and bring joy. Not make people feel bad for not knowing enough, or for feeling too anxious to even begin figuring out where in the 75 year history of DC they should start reading.

I know that's what kept me from reading the comics for a long time. it was just too overwhelming. It still is overwhelming for me and thats with having friends telling me where to start and what comics are best to read.

Before I end this super hella long rant I want to remind you of one last thing.

You don't know what someone has read or researched before writing their fic. You don't know just how much they know about that character or universe. For all you know, they may have read, watched, consumed every single piece of DC media in existence. But they may still interpret it different than you did and that does not mean that their Bruce Wayne is OOC because it doesn't align with how you interpret Bruce Wayne. it just means that they view his character differently than you do.

And that's such a beautiful fucking thing don't you think? That a single character, a single universe, a single fucking line can be interpreted hundreds of different ways by hundreds of different people and it's still valid.

It's what makes fandom so freaking cool in the first place.

Like one day someone woke up and they were watching Danny Phantom and they thought hm, what if I had Danny Fenton go to Gotham one day and hang out with the bats? And next thing you know, now we have thousands upon thousands of different fanfics, fan art and HCs, all because of it. All because someone had that one idea and shared it and others saw it, interpreted it their own way, and decided to create even more.

And now we're here! And this fandom is beautiful and thriving. There are so many amazing and lovely people in this fandom. There are so many discords to talk about fandom, there's so many events, a DPxDC Bang is the works, a DPxDC fanzine is in the works.

That's so fucking cool and we should be celebrating that! Not making others feel bad for not knowing as much as others.

What is daily pass?

Daily Pass is where completed webtoons go to die go to be a part of a separate currency system. Essentially, you get one "daily pass" per day to use on any completed DP series. This unlocks an episode for 14 days, after which the episode will lock again. This also means if you use your own daily pass, that's it, you can't use it on any other series that day and you have to wait until tomorrow to get another one.

If you want to read more episodes and don't want to wait until tomorrow, you can spend your coins to FastPass the next episode. That 14 day limit does not apply here, once you use your coins to FP it you have permanent access to the episodes for as long as the series is available. This ALSO applies to any series that you've FastPassed before that become DailyPass. So for example, I read most of S2 of Lore Olympus through the FastPass system, so when it goes behind DailyPass, I won't have to wait for the Daily Pass ticket or pay again to read them. That said, I didn't FastPass S1 until about the last half of it back when those episodes were first releasing, so for the first half of the series, I either have to stick out the once-a-day ticket system or fork over the coins for the FastPass.

While it is a good way to monetize series after they're completed, especially for the creators who get a cut of the FP earnings, from the reader side it's truly the water drip torture method of reading webcomics. Most of us aren't satisfied only reading one episode a day, especially when it comes to series with shorter episodes (which LO had back in the day, it didn't used to always have 70+ panel episodes), and WT is counting on that in the hopes people will FastPass to shortcut the waiting process (especially because only getting to read one episode per day really does turn reading webcomics from an exhilarating binge into a daily chore.)

Lore Olympus will likely be going behind this Daily Pass paywall in the comic weeks, most series that are completed are put in Daily Pass within a couple weeks to a month after being completed. There's a person in the /r/webtoons sub who tracks the Daily Pass timelines and notifies people ahead of time, so if I hear of when LO is going behind the DP system, I'll let y'all know.

In the meantime though, if you've been planning on reading through all of LO from start to finish without having to pay for FP, now's the time. It's only gonna become a pain to do again as soon as it gets put behind DP.

2025 Book Bingo Plans

I've started planning out some of what I'm going to read for @batmanisagatewaydrug's 2025 book bingo (read more here), and to get myself hyped, I'm sharing the books I've set in stone, as well as recording some ideas I have for the other spaces!

I've been looking forward to Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins for a while now, I'm interested to see if it will live up to the philosophical examination it sets itself up as.

I got the illustrated copy of Eragon by Christopher Paolini/Sidharth Chaturvedi for Christmas, so that's kind of a no-brainer for the re-read.

Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao I'm also getting for Christmas, but it's the pretty Illumicrate version, so it's not getting here until January or February. I took a gamble with Iron Widow and got the hardcover, and I was not disappointed (I've read it 3 times and am going to reread it once I get HT, and will certainly reread both in the future), so I expect the fancy one will be money well spent (by my aunt but still).

I am just assuming that My Friends by Fredrik Backman is going to be set in Sweden, because all of Backman's other novels are set there. Hopefully I don't need to find a new book for the category lol. If I do this one will probably fit Literary Fiction anyway.

I've been working my way through my reread of the Hitchiker's Guide trilogy by Douglas Adams, and think I can finish the 3rd in the next few days, so I'm all set up for the 4th going into 2025 :)

I stopped reading Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey when school got really rough last year and have wanted to go back to it for a while. It was recommended to me by my dad, and one of his favorite books. In the 100-ish pages I've read, I've found it to be amazing as well.

Things My Son Needs to Know About the World by Fredrik Backman was going to be my memoir choice until I realized it was actually essays.

I saw Death In Rocky Mountain National Park: Accidents and Foolhardiness on the Continental Divide by Randi Minetor while just wandering Barnes and Noble and was sure I had to read it when the title made it clear it wasn't going to blame animals for the actions of humans.

I've wanted to read Last Chance to See by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine for a long time, but the concept alone has always made it a little too sad to convince myself to pick up. This year will be its year though.

I promised my roommate that I would read The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson last year so that we could watch the show for Halloween. I'm following through this year instead.....

My reasoning for Thud! by Terry Pratchett is simple. I like Discworld, I like Ankh Morpork, I like the Watch novels, I like Sam Vimes.

Very well^^ I'll also introduce some of the other segments here

Let me introduce the segments, starting from the youngest segment up to Dottore himself.

Kappa, the seven year old segment, would always be your playmate whenever you're done studying. You two could be seen everywhere together. You would teach Kappa some other children games you learned from Childe due to you unable to leave the palace.

Eta, the teen segment, is one who babysits you the most, along with Kappa. He would make sure you don't get hurt whenever you're running around the laboratory. The first time you were introduced to him, he saw you as nothing but an insignificant pest. After taking care of you and getting to know you, he became more like a guard dog and would glare at others who even tried to get a few meters close to you.

Iota, the Akademiya segment, would be one of the segments who would teach you how to read and write, sometimes even solve some equations of your level. He would mostly teach you science and math. He would call you a mutt. It doesn't matter to him if you pout at the nickname he gave you, he would always call you a mutt. Why? You easily obey and listen to everything you were told, even act like a mutt. One time Iota was waving a lollipop in front of you and he would watch you follow the sweet with your hands out. When he told you he wouldn't give you the candy, you gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes that he sighed and gave you the candy.

Epsilon, pre-fatui Dottore segment, is one who would feed you sweets as a reward and would even teach you how to make them. You developed a sweet tooth thanks to him.

Theta, we know him as Webttore, the one who went to Mondstadt with Krupp, is also one of your tutors. He would teach you how to read and write. Him and Zandik (Original Dottore) are the only ones who can understand your handwriting. Would teasingly call you a dumbass because of your clumsiness and stupidity.

Beta, the other Webttore in the webtoon, the one who was annoyed because of the letter received from Mondstadt. He would be your babysitter whenever Eta is busy. Him and Gamma are mostly the troublemakers in the laboratory but they will make sure you don't get harmed from their mischief.

Gamma, one who teaches you anything related to fire. He is known as a pyromaniac that sometimes Zandik has to debate if he should let you under Gamma's care due to his worries that you might get burned. Nothing to fear, Gamma makes sure you're wearing protective gear. One time he singed the tips of your hair that he had to cut it short so there won't be any evidence the others could find. He bribed you with candy if you can manage to lie to Zandik on why you came back to him with short hair.

Zandik, the original Dottore himself, the one who took you in and raised you under his care, would be the last person you would always go to whenever the day ends and night time came. Due to him working in his laboratory overtime, his lack of sleep has been getting worse. The only person he would listen to aside from the Tsaritsa and Pierro is you. You would always make sure he would be sleeping with you, doesn't matter if it's on a couch or on the bed as long as you both slumber peacefully.

The sound of your footsteps could be heard as you walked down the hallways of the palace. You were a bit upset that your father didn't come visit you so you both can sleep. You would usually get nightmares whenever you don't get to sleep with someone holding you. You didn't want to bother the other segments since they were really busy with the project that they were planning to commence on Sumeru. They didn't tell you much details since they said they were 'big words for you to understand'... they didn't know that you understood every word thanks to the dictionary your Uncle Pantalone gifted you.

Letting out a small huff from all the walking, you finally reached your father's office. Standing on your tiptoes and reaching for the doorknob, you were able to open the door and quickly tiptoed inside. You immediately saw your father's figure working on his desk, the sound of his pen writing against paper is the one thing heard throughout the room.

"Papa." you chirped out as you made your way around the desk and laid your head on top of Zandik's knees.

Zandik let out a small hum in reply as he briefly glanced at you before turning his attention back to his documents, his hand making its way to lightly ruffle your hair while his other hand continued to write. You let out a pout when your father didn't even stop with his work.

"It's already close to midnight, Papa. You didn't come to sleep when you told me you were almost done with work. You got to sleep soon! You're gonna look like a panda in my storybooks with your big eyebags!"

Zandik placed his pen down as he looked at you with a raised brow. You were confused at his reaction but was immediately surprised when your face was being squished.

"A panda? Is that how you're going to refer to your father now? Oh, how you wound me, dear. You cheeky little pup." Zandik said as he pulled and pinch at your cheeks with a small grin. You whined as you pulled away from his grasp, holding your swollen cheeks as you playfully glare at your father.

"Are you finished with work now, Papa? Can we go to sleep?"

Zandik glanced at the documents at his desk before returning his attention towards you, letting out a tired sigh as he stood up from his seat before picking you up. He decided to finish the rest tomorrow since if he doesn't sleep then that would mean you wouldn't sleep either, he didn't want to see his own child be cranky in the morning due to the lack of rest.

Letting out a small hum, Zandik laid you both down on the couch in his office, too tired to walk all the way to your bedroom. You laid your head against your father's shoulder and let out a yawn. You felt a hand rub the back of your head as you heard your father humming a small tune your Aunt Columbina sang to you back then. As much as Zandik despised singing, he did admit the tune was able to lull you to sleep.

When he heard your soft snoring, he tried to put you down on the couch but you had a tight grip on his clothes. Zandik let out a sigh as he adjusted his position so that you were asleep in his arms while leaning his head against the couch. A small smile appeared on his face as he watched you sleep in his hold. He found it ironic how an innocent child could sleep so peacefully in the arms of a mad man. Nonetheless, Zandik swore to himself that he wouldn't let you be in danger.

"May your dreams be kind tonight, my dear." Zandik mumbled as he placed a small kiss to your temple and drifted off to sleep as well.

Random QL Grievances: 2024 Edition

Once again taking @lurkingshan's lead and doing my own version of this one. And in case the word grievances in bold and in the title is not enough of a clue, I will be saying not so nice things about some shows. You've been warned.

"The root of disappointment is expectation" Shows that were promising even before they started or that raised expectations and didn't follow through.

Last Twilight

I had high expectations for this show from the team and the story alone, and they were met until the halfway point, ok maybe episode 8. When it was good, it was really good. But when it turned bad, it turned irredeemably bad. Like I said at the time, this show had a real opportunity to say something about people with disabilities and also class disparity. But the message that one can only be happy when they're abled and one can only be worthy when they have "a proper job" is one that still pisses me off today. In my mind, they broke up not long after and Mhok is happy in with someone else in Hawaii.

23.5 Degrees

Speaking of badly handled characters...This show did so many things wrong, but the one that hurt me the most was what they did with Aylin. Once again, the message is, you need to change what is unique or different about you in order to be accepted and by extent be happy. I hate it.

Wandee Goodday

It started off so strong. A lot of things pissed me off about this show by the end, so I'll just mention the one that still kinda makes my blood boil. The most atrocious case of pair the spares.

The On1y One

More than anything, what pissed me off the most about the ending of this was that I felt like I was manipulated. I felt they purposefully left the story without any resolution, to make sure they got a second season. Because the director was asking viewers to put pressure on whoever, and to talk about the show and sign petitions or whatever the hell it was, while the show is still on, so for me felt like it was all planned. They did a disservice to their own work and their own team by stretching this story and adding elements to make sure it couldn't possibly be told in one season. And I have no issue with planning for a second season, but there are ways to do this and still make the audience feel like they saw a story with a start, a middle and an end. Even if it's an open ending.

I Hear the Sunspot

If you follow me or know anything about me, you know that it hurts my soul to put a jbl on this list. I am in pain. But I couldn't not do it. This was one of the biggest disappointments of the year for me. Not only because it's a jbl, but because from the start it had everything going for it. I still can't believe they managed to so spectacularly ruin this show in its second half. I said enough about it at the time, no point going into it again.

Other 2024 big disappointments :Jack & Joker (not enough bl in this bl), Unknown (that ending), The Sign (what a mess), Love is Better the Second Time Around (in so much pain), My Strawberry Film (it's not a bl but also doesn't know it is).

Other Random Grievances

Biggest Loss of Trust aka #in nobody we trust - Blossom Campus

Strongberry... What the hell? Nothing that strongberry has ever produced before could've prepared me for this mess. I still have no words for whatever this was.

It should've stayed on the shelf -Love is Like a Cat

There was no love and no cat. And they killed the dog. And if that wasn't enough, it was just so incredibly boring.

Worst adaption of a webtoon - Jazz for Two

As it turns out, pretty is not enough. Who knew? But seriously, Korea always gives me the pretty pictures and the pretty people. But this was awful. I read the source material and honestly it baffles me how they could make so many wrong choices.

Biggest waste of a good premise and excellent visuals - Dead friend Forever & 4 Minutes

And they killed Fuaiz TWICE!!!! I'm just gonna assume that his characters will not survive from now on. Anyway. I really loved the visuals of both these shows. But the writing just couldn't measure up. They both stumbled at the end, although I think 4 minutes stumbled way before that.

I think maybe I should stop. Anyway I only included shows I watched till the end, and not ones I dropped.

Sorry if this is a silly question but I wanna get into DC (specifically the batfamily :3) but like. I have no clue where is a good place to start?? There's so much lore and stuff it's throwing me off guh...

So, just a warning, I'm probably not the best person to ask since I'm not that much knowledgeable about DC either. I never read any comics, sadly, and I don't plan to.

However! I do have some good starting places to offer.

First of, the Webtoon comic 'Batman: Wayne Family Adventures'. As far as I know, it's not an official DC comic (correct me if I'm wrong), but it features all sorts of Batfamily shenanigans, and it's really cute, so you can try that.

Then, the animated movie 'Son of Batman' has Damian's origin story and quite a few of his interactions with Bruce, Dick, Alfred, and Talia, so that can give you somewhat of an idea.

The whole animated series of 'Young Justice' are good, I loved it, although there's not much Batfam there, but they happen once or twice as far as I remember. It's still good to give you a general idea of a bunch of DC characters.

The animated series 'Harley Quinn' are not my favorite, but I loved the first season. It does show Batman from a, well, not a very flattering angle, but, hey, Harley and Pamela are cool.

Other than that, the shows 'Flash' and 'Arrow' are fun to watch, but they are centered about different superheroes, respectively.

The movie 'Justice League' is, arguably, not a good place to start, per se, but that was the first ever thing I watched with DC characters in it, and it did give me a good idea about them, so there's that.

Oh, how could I forget, the animated series 'My Adventures With Superman' is absolutely awesome! I didn't like any other movies, animated or not, that featured Superman (sue me), but that one was fantastic, I loved it.

Aside from that, I'd say just read whatever fanfiction sparks your interest and Google anything that looks weird or requires context. That's how I found out about Bruce getting lost in the timestream, lol

I finished Weak Hero Class 1. So let me tell my opinions to the zero to two people that will read this. *spoilers ahead*

Let me start by saying I haven’t read the webtoon but I plan to soon.

I read somewhere it had a satisfying end that left it open for season two. Y’all, that was not a satisfying end. I mean, yeah, I was all for Si Eun beating the shit out of everyone but everything else was not satisfying.

No one was held responsible for their actions.

Su Ho is still in a coma. I read comments way back that the actor wasn’t listed for season two so I was prepared to lose him somehow but didn’t think we would lose him. At least let him wake up. 🥺

It’s a cycle. A bully creates another bully. Because no one gets the help the need and because no one is held responsible, I can hardly justify that as a satisfying conclusion to season 1.

However, I am still giving this a 9/10. Despite the unsatisfying ending I liked the story, main characters, and actors. I will definitely be tuning into season two if it’s actually coming out next month.

YOU ARE THE HIVEMIND. Quite literally the ruler of information and data across the planet. You had dirt on anyone and everyone. You had the power to start and end wars in an instant.

You, are also an actor. Why take such a high profile job when you had such a volatile career behind the scenes? Well that was simple, no one will ever find out. No one ever could anyways. Besides, as an actor, learning multiple skills such as the use of guns, martial arts, and well acting would seem much less suspicious.

You were known for your cold, distant personality. Often inciting scandals due to other celebrities vying for your attention and promptly throwing a temper tantrum when you refused to do so. You have garnered so much hate and danger that your manager went ahead and hired a couple of bodyguards to prevent any mishaps.

That being said, your bodyguards happen to be the world’s two most dangerous spies.

Spy Agencies loved to pluck their workers from orphanages. It was easier to deal with a person that had no attachments after all. But they could not predict that their geniuses Agent White and Agent Black , would be such big fans of you.

Indeed. Both of them had watched every single media you have been (released to the public or not), and monitored you 24/7. They were quite a nuisance when it came to hiding your identity, but nonetheless useful tools.

You agreed to their hiring precisely due to the things listed above. If they were distracted by you in real life, they’d have less time to stalk you like the obsessive bastards they were.

You didn’t have to do much. Both spies were charismatic people. They often approached you. Eyes filled with admiration and lust as they shielded your body with theirs from paparazzi and the likes. You could hear their labored breaths as they struggled — daresay agonized — to hold you properly instead of this awkward dance they had to do for the sake of formalities.

Of course all things must come to end, and your identity had been forced into the surface by a hitman paid to take your life.

“Oh, Hivemind. If you’d only known how much I have wished to ravish you—“

But perhaps they were more interested in taking you in other ways instead.

Series/webtoons if you like Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss

Lovely hell

I'll start right away with the probably least known AND best of all - at least in terms of being similar to the universe of HH and HB-.

"Tanz, a powerful creature of pure evil, is vanished to Earth agaist her will. Weak and without a plan, she'll have to rely to Cain, a human, to guide her throught the world and figure a way back to her home: Hell."

First of all, it's a webtoon, so you can read it for free on Webtoon! Created by Tita (stage name Lorsupp), the story takes place in the present day. our protagonists are biblical characters (I won't give spoilers about who Tanz is. Cain, you guys must have already understood...).

This webtoon deserves much more recognition! the story is organic and well-paced, funny and tense when necessary. The characters are super charismatic and have chemistry, the Lore of Hell is super interesting and with a different approach from HH/HB. I love the character design - you can see the evolution of the author's traits as the chapters go by.

It's great to see other ways of approaching well-known characters -like the Jewish/Christian angels and demons-. A emphasis for Gabriel, ahhh this character hahah Anyway, this webtoon is the one I most recommend!

Vilanius

This series - with just a few episodes left - is a Mexican animation released for Cartoon Network. Compared to HH's type of humor, here it is much more toned down, as it is aimed at a younger audience.

"Villainous is the story of Black Hat Org., run by Black Hat (whose name is synonymous with villain, a reference to the evil black-hatted cowboys of Western films) and his team of three less evil sidekicks. Black Hat is trying to sell various evil inventions created by Dr. Flug and is desperate to fulfill his evil aspirations. However, things often end badly for him, as brilliant innovations tend to have small and often comical flaws."

The lore has nothing related to the Hell, but it still focuses on the evil side of the story. I love the character designs, very similar to HH. It's worth checking out, even more Latin animation!

The Good Place

A series already consolidated and finished. One of my favorites on Netflix!

Even though it's not exactly Heaven and Hell, the concept is very similar. but what stands out here is the philosophical debate about what is right and wrong, how to be a good person in a world marked by individualism, competition and exploitation so that a person can have the basics to survive? -neoliberalism cough cough-.

"Eleanor Shellstrop wakes up to discover that she has died and entered the afterlife. But when she is told by her mentor Michael that she is in the "Good Place" because of her good deeds, helping to get innocent people off death row, she realizes that a mistake has been made because the people They think she is someone else with the same name."

Question about existentialism, ethics and the meaning of life debated in a fun way! A quick comparison to Bojack Horseman, a series that I love. in The Good Place, the existentialism, life and death are treated in a much more optimistic and... beautiful way, while in Bojack it is pessimistic and heavy. the debates on human existence can have lighter conclusions - this is not a criticism of Bojack, just a different approach.

Guardians of the Mansion of Horror

This recommendation won't have a personal review because... I still need to watch it! but I saw so many people recommending it, saying that it has good LGBT+ representation that I thought it would be interesting to bring it here. If anyone has already watched it and wants to say something about it...

Inside Job

Here we have the biggest injustice in the history of Netflix, the cancellation of this series! I brought it here because of their type of acidic and critical humor towards society - not that this criticism is present in HH-. An adult animation, with swear words and the same irreverent touch as HH, following the shadow side of society.

Good Omens

It's almost a rule, if you watched Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss, you also watched Good Omens!

For those who have never given the series a chance, here are some reasons to watch it now: Inspired by Neil Gaiman's work - and approved by him! -!. It is focused entirely on this universe of Jewish/Christian characters - and it is possible to see how well they are studied! There are references that only those who have studied demology or the sacred writings of these religions will understand-

The first season has a wonderful rhythm with captivating characters - the second lacks this a little. The angel and devil couple are super charismatic and you root for them.

Watching some of the biblical events from the point of view of the questioning and sinister demon Crowley and the good lamb Aziraphale is wonderful!
