Well, somebody sued my company and/or reported them to the labor board. I had an email this morning that the company had retained a third party to do a three year audit of payroll for missed lunch breaks, and they found that I was one of the employees who had missed lunch breaks. They did a 'liberal' audit, and whenever it wasn't clear whether or not an employee had missed their break, they determined in favor of the employee. You have to agree to the amount listed in the email, and if you agree to it, you will not be entitled to further compensation for missed breaks. The amount they determined for my case is over $4200 pre-tax, which seems REALLY high (I did work through a lunch here and there, but not very often over that period), so I am wondering if they offered everyone a blanket amount, because they probably owe some people, especially hospital staff, way more, and it's cheaper for them to way overpay some people and hope the others who are owed way more just take the $4200 and don't push for more.

I found your Masters of the Air fics 4 days ago now and I haven't been able to think about anything else since. I've reread each of the fics several times and spread your directors comentary out over two days to really appreciate it. I love your characterization of Curt. You just get the characters! Being a defense attorney is an... utterly thankless job. He's thought to himself on more than one occasion over the past few days that he needs to give Phoenix more credit for everything he does, because he's certainly been seeing him in a new light as of late. It's not like Edgeworth hasn't always been impressed by him, though. To him, Wright is...

...Well. That's a topic for another day. At least Edgeworth's back to acting as a prosecutor again now, and everything's finally settling down. Though whenever he thinks of the danger that Wright was in just a few days ago, almost losing his life... it makes Edgeworth's stomach twist in anxiety, and he can only remind himself that what he should be feeling now isn't fear, but relief.

There is... one other thing, though. Something that's been creeping up on his thoughts, that he's constantly forced to think about even when he desperately wants to pretend it's not there. And that... is the topic of the supernatural. Starting with the moment when he was given the magatama, and ending with him being witness to an honest-to-god spirit channeling... Edgeworth didn't really have the time or opportunity to be shocked back then, but when he thinks about it all now, sometimes it feels like his whole world is being turned upside-down.

Perhaps that's a bit dramatic, but... how else can he describe the feeling of realizing that that everything he thought he knew about the world - how it works, what's possible and impossible - has been a lie? On top of that, it feels like his mind keeps drifting back to the topic even more than it should be, as of late... it's frustrating, and though he won't admit it to himself - there's something more there, too. A kind of fear buried deep inside him. A strange sense of something being unearthed. It's... as if the moment he took that magatama, something awakened inside him that he can't yet understand...

...What ridiculous notions.

Oh hoho, if I told you that this is one of my fave flavors of ruoyaos :'D. And I'm very pleasantly surprised with the fact that there's an actual small handful of fics with this premise!

I guess it's just such a fascinating and likely way to explore their power dynamics. I mean, it'd be very easy for someone so powerful to just take what he wants in this regards (like JGS), but I think one of the things that make WRH unpredictable is that he can switch things up and still be the one in control and having the other submitting.

Like. I've seen a couple fics with him servicing MY (either with blowjobs or eating him out) and legitimately not interested in the favor being returned. Not even fucking him (well, not in the fic), bc the act of having this perfect little composed guy come undone by his hand is already enough of a treat.

Pain? Pain is too easy and unelegant. Pleasure? Now that's a whole new, fun way to have someone crumble for him. Especially when it's someone he doesn't really intent on hurting but that would be just so FUN to see how much he can open them.

NOW, the context you mention is honestly perhaps the only time in which MY, the infamous son of a whore, would actually accept it. Not only bc of the implicit rule of 'you just don't oppose what Sect Leader Wen wants of you', but actually seeing it as the reward it is bc WRH doesn't make it about his pleasure, but about MY's. And for someone with so much trauma and repression about that matter, letting himself be an actualy sexual person beyond what society says of him is something he'd probably find very difficult to do if he wasn't kindasorta dubcon'd into it. At first, at least.

As I see it, MY could have been very much ready to close his eyes and think of England until it all finished the first time he was "offered" such reward. But it would be clear soon enough that WRH is legit not doing it just bc he wants to fuck him (which, let's be real, he didn't need any excuse of ploy to have that anyways). And funnily enough, I do think psycho daddy can be a very selfless lover bc of course he'd memorize what got him the best reactions out of the boy and he's totally not above using that info to reduce his flawless, professional aide to a moaning, trashing mess as quickly/slowly as he wants :'D.

And eventually scalating it until he is rewarding MY in front of others? Honestly? After a certain point I can see it as the ultimate way to elevate MY bc one thing would have been to take the boy in front of everybody, that's humiliation (although it would depend on the situation and dynamics imo), but Sect Leader Wen servicing someone regardless of his own complition??? The ship would be fine if OW writers just made one change time wise???? No idea what they were thinking, it really feels like this was a later addition to Pharah's character rather than inherently planned for Pharah.

Which... okay! Ideas change, so do concepts and characters, but retcon the extra crap then! Augh. Either have it never matter ('they just are (insert thing)' rep can be good when done right), or have it properly incorporated into the story from the start: Tracer works because of her comic, it felt natural and well intended. aka pre plan it so wack contradictions or implications do not exist.

I understand creators trying to get around censors for LGBT+ rep but Overwatch is like. Already out there. Wayyyy out of the closet by now. No need to hide identities for a big reveal, it feels like trying to hype train the existence of well. Existing. Homo FOMO the corperation yells, hoping for big money from hype trains.... no thanks... I prefer my rep treated with respect. :,)

Fr they can just announce it alongside nationality and age when the character is first announced. Like imagine if they airdropped ethnicity-- Oh wait they did do that with Cole Cassidy confirming he is just a "very tanned Caucasian" LOL too late tho fanon has already adopted BAMF cowboy from Blizz anyhow. And tbf, I agree with common fanon there-- I always interpreted Cole as mixed heritage because of. well. Irl Cowboy history and cowboy movie culture? That's like. His whole THING. The Cursebreaker laughed softly and nodded. "Our little secret," Miles agreed. Any that remained could be given to Kenneth, or held onto by one of the two for the future. Either way, it was certain to be put to good use.

The pat to his back received a subtle reach and squeeze to the other's lower forearm. More akin to a light graze of his hand around Otto's wrist; it was enough to show affection, yet not enough to be overly noticeable to anyone they passed by on their excursion down to the lower level of the Hideaway. The sleeping quarters of the Cursebreakers awaited them, and Miles held no qualms with showing the other to his dormitory.

Upon reaching that oh-so familiar, yet not at all unique door into his living quarters, the bottle was handed to the head steward for safe keeping. Then he eased the wooden barrier open and motioned in a polite half-bow for his friend to enter.

"After you, my lord."

The room was, as one would expect, simple. It contained a bed, a small writing desk and chair, and an equally simple little bedside table. The bed was neatly made, blankets undisturbed -- or untouched, rather. On the writing desk was an array of papers, from half-finished letters to carefully read reports. Each one held a common thread of being disheveled, in stark contrast to the bedding. For the most part, personal effects were scarce; a sheathed sword was resting against the far wall. There were two items tacked up to the walls: a map of Storm, as well as an age-worn Rosarian banner, as tattered and beaten as the Grand Duchy herself, but still holding on just as proudly as her people.

And there were books, a few stacks of books scattered about. An open journal sat upon the desk's surface, though the current pages were still empty.

The door was quietly closed behind Miles, where he hesitated with hand upon the doorknob. "Please, make yourself comfortable," he encouraged. "I thought it best to go somewhere private, that you might feel more at ease in telling me more about yourself. About your life before this, about Deryn and your former family, about... well, you."

When the older man did turn around, there was a gentle, warm smile playfully tugging at the corners of his lips. "If, of course, it is not too painful for you to discuss. Curious though I am, and as much as I desire to get to know the two of you more --" There was a pause. The smile faltered for a split second, then returned anew with even greater sympathy in tow. "-- I also understand that there are some wounds that are far too painful to wish to talk about."
