For a while I've pondered a fic where Killer is the central love interest. You (and a bunch of other hostages from an attacked universe) are captured by the bad guys and bought to the castle dungeons to serve as a source of negativity for Nightmare. Killer is supposed to torture you, but he catches intense feelings immediately instead, he saves you from the dungeon and hides you in his room. He has to keep you hidden in the castle under Nightmare’s nose, disguising his softer feelings for you under layers of weird sadistic sexual thoughts so Nightmare is too disgusted to look any deeper.

Eventually, after battling between his possessiveness and his desire to keep you safe, Killer would mometarily triumph over his darker side and try to hand you over to the Star Sanses. But Nightmare catches wind and thwarts the deal. Rather than being furious and killing you, as Killer anticipates, Nightmare is impressed that Killer had the wit and viciousness to go so completely behind his back like this. "i had no idea you had so much effort in you, soldier." Nightmare will allow Killer to keep his little pet - but now you're a hostage yet again, used as Nightmare's bargaining chip to make Killer put his all into missions.

Cue Dust and Horror growing more and more affectionate with you over time now, they know you exist... and cue Nightmare slowly starting to see what Killer was willing to betray a God for.
