he paid attention to your profile, he saw your theme, god it was so you . he tilted his head and finally got your username, now he had something to do tonight . you noticed his eyes glued to your phone, “hey! are you spying on me?!” you lifted your head to look at him . “no!” he raised his hands in defence

“you were! what did you see?” he shook his head at your question, “i saw nothing! i swear!” you narrowed your eyes at him . “fine, i believe you” he sighed and ran his fingers through his hair . the rest of the night was peaceful, suguru went home and practically jumped to his laptop . he sat down on his couch and typed in “tumblr.com” in google

he singed in and now he could finally see what you were posting, he put in your username and found you, ha! you used a fake name so no one would find you . yet he did . he stared at your page for a while, looking at your intro and your theme . everything was really like your personality, he scrolled down and the first post was just you talking about new clothes

as deeper he scrolled he got to the darker stuff, well maybe now dark but the…horny stuff . whining about being sexually frustrated or in your words “needing dick”, specifically your best friend's, but he hadn’t gotten to that yet! it looked like your posted a lot so it took him a while to scroll down to when he finally saw the first hint of who you liked

he stood in front of you . your hair was dripping wet from your recent shower, you pjs sticking to your damp skin . “hey” he coughed out, “hi” you said in a weak tone, as if you didn’t want to talk to him . “i saw your post about…me” your breath hitched, “oh…i figured” you cleared your throat, “can i come inside your room?” you nodded and stepped aside

he walked in and noticed the only thing on was a couple lamps, your room like the rest of the house was not very bright . had you just been sulking these days? he sat down on your bed, “so...” he trailed off . “i’m sorry you had to see those posts” your voice cracked mid sentence as you felt tears well in your eyes . his head perked up, “hey don’t worry, i knew that you—had feelings for me, i just didn’t know they were so…extreme”

you started to sob, your freshly done makeup going to waste, “i’m sorry” you chanted, he walked over to you and brought you into a hug . “you want me to make you feel better? to make it all go away?” you looked up at him and nodded

This is going to be my first post, so I may as well introduce myself. I'm Fronde, a long time Tumblr user, but not a very active one. I don't really post anything in my main account, I just reblog. I'm a 20-something human and English is my second language.

So, why did I open this blog?

I was reading a Young Adult novel in which the protagonist likes to write her thoughts in some kind of Tumblr-like social media. This reminded me of the many blogs I used to have while I was a teen and how much I miss writing daily. They were private (I only let my friends read them), but it was a nice excuse to ruminate about my dreams, about how I felt about life - the seasons, the books I read, the little things. The novel I was reading these days inspired me to come back to this hobby. I've never written in Tumblr, and I don't know if this will become a habit, but I feel excited to start this and I think that's beautiful enough to give it a try. I think it'll help me sort out my thoughts when they don't let me focus on my tasks and it'll be a good practice to write in English.

I didn't know how to call this blog, but while I was thinking about a handle my mind drifted to Taylor Swift's classic monologue song. So I found it fun to call these my monologues.

As of what you can expect here, I'm not really sure myself. These past blogs I talked about never had a theme other than me musing about anything I was interested in. I may talk about my hobbies, about experiences I like (visiting a new place, like a cafe, a cathedral, an archive), probably about things that aren't ever that important. This is going to be as random as your regular shower thoughts. I do want to try and be more creative with my prose, though I need to read a bit more in English and it'll take some time for me to become more skilled.

To be honest, I'm not really sure how should I tag these posts, or if there's a community of similar blogs. I suppose this isn't really different from a personal blog, but it's more focused on writing my own stuff rather than just reblogging. I guess it'll be a matter of time until I learn my way around here. As you can see, I'm using Kirchner's 'Marcella' as a profile picture. I feel like Marcella looks a bit sad in the painting, so I'll probably change it in the future. I do think the nostalgic and pensive vibes of Marcella suit this blog, but I wanted to be clear that this is not going to be that emo. Life is weird and confusing, but it's also full of wonders. These years, I prefer to stay on the optimist side of things - it's kind of a form of resistance. I'll always be speaking in italics, while my characters will be speaking in quotes. I've commissioned a reference for Bo so far, and it will be coming in due time, as well as references for the Papyri. Bo Bells

Description:

Bo is a 5'4 pale human with chesnut brown hair. Their hair is short, up to the end of their neck. They have gold highlights. They usually wear khaki shorts, a beige knitted t-shirt, along with black elbow and knee pads. They wear a farmer's straw hat, green gardening gloves, white socks, and beige sneakers. They're a vendor at most of the omega timeline's farmer's markets, whether it be selling baked goods, or selling those alongside flowers, seeds, starters, and fresh human and monster produce. They're a farmer/gardener that absolutely loves to bake. They use any pronouns, have hazel eyes, and a bunch of freckles. Don't try to debate their prices, they'll punch you. They're a rambunctious character with a love of game-playing and strategy. Polyamorous. They also have a corgi as a herding dog for sheep and cattle, his name is Eitri. They always carry a bouqet of fresh great falls angel coleus. Due to a botanical experiment gone wrong during their study of magical flowers, their body is covered in a variety of flowers that die and bloom as a new type of flower at the end of each month. Currently, the flowers are obsidian coral bells, echo flowers, red roses, and great falls angel coleus. They have a giant echo flower covering their left eye. They're part of a poly relationship with three papyri. They're a soul of integrity. Their soul is a light shade of lavender, with little blossoms of echo flowers sprouting from different areas. Their items consist of a gardening mister, a watering can, carrot seeds, strawberry seeds, and a bag of compost. They always wear a heart locket with a picture of them and their boyfriends inside.

Additional info:

They use magic modifiers to make their exotic flowers, seeds, and starters adaptable to new locations. They combine magic to modify the ecosystem or location that the plant needs to grow in, making it available to your very own garden! Overgrowth does occur, unfortunately, so the flowers and others become even more high maintenance. It does mess with the ecosystem it's placed in, infecting the roots and spreading the modifier to other plants if not properly taken care of. Terminate the flower, that's the plan. Unfortunately, at major overgrowth point, the plant won't be savable. If handled properly, it'll be removed from the planter thoroughly and returned to me. I have an antidote that I do not sell. The antidote is unfortunately posionous to humans and monsters, and needs to be handled extremely carefully.

They first gained the flowers after experimenting with the exotic modifier. It infected them, growing flowers all over their body. At the end of every month, they wither, causing extreme pain. Eventually they bloom into a new species, bringing pure serenity with the said bloom. They have an almost droopy, if not dead feel to them at night time.

At every night, there is a special market in the omega timeline for vendors to sell their less desirable products to the public. Bo sells violent and dangerous botanical experiments, warping flowers and produce into horrific beasts of plants. They also start bleeding from their flowers, causing mouths and eyes to form on the vegetation of their skin.

They sell vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, flowers, seeds, starters, experiments, and baked goods.

The Papyri: Sain, Lus, and Cig

These three a peas in a pod, sharing their collective interest of loving Bo. Sain is fellswap Mutt, Lus is swapfell Cash, and Cig is underswap Stretch. They all carry the same physical appearance from their original AUs, the one difference being the bones are covered in dirt from helping Bo take care of the farm. Sometimes they come to the farmer's markets to help their sweetpea out. You'll have to dig a lot deeper to find out more about these guys.

Imp Midna and wolf Kevin Stoley

After the release of the first TotK (back then BotW 2) trailer, I (like many others) thought that this game would be more like Twilight Princess than Skyward Sword. And I, like many native folks, hoped for a return of Midna in this game😅. Generally, I decided that due to the break in the space-time continuum, a lot of characters from other games will appear in the second season of Hyrule Park (I already talked about this in the ninth day of Linktober), and Midna is no exception. What you see here is just a concept, as I'm not sure if she can turn into an imp again. But this is my first time when I drew Midna in this way. I can't guarantee that she will actually appear in the comic, but I will try my best to make it happen because Midna is one of the most beloved characters among Zelda fans😁

Hooray! I can't even believe that Linktober has already come to an end. And since "Free Day" fell on Halloween, why not draw something themed and not related to Hyrule Park. What we have here is Gregory as Link, the girl from the upcoming DLC ​​(I call her Daisy) as Saria, Glamrock Freddy as Navi, and a combination I'm personally proud of - Vanessa as Sheik. The badly drawn Glitchtrap as Ganondorf was drawn by Gregory himself.

I made this crossover as a sign that I decided to take a break from Zelda and focus on FNAF (and on the original characters too). Of course, this does not mean that I will postpone work on @welcome-to-hyrulepark again. But FNAF MA and GI.F.ON are also waiting for their creator.

In honor of the 8th anniversary of FNAF, I finally created a poster for my AU, whose characters I managed to introduce in one of my early posts (which set an absolute record for the most posts on Tumblr). I'll tell you about the plans for the animated series: of course, to make this idea a reality, I need a team of talented animators, preferably FNAF fans. Despite the endless stream of new theories that refute the previous ones, I was able to come up with a coherent plot for the animated series, in the finale of which Afton's finale will come.

The animated series will have 2 seasons - the first season will take place in the Scott era (FNAF 1 - UCN), that is, from the 1970s to 2024. The second season will take place in the SteelWool era (Help wanted - Security breach DLC). The season will be dedicated to Gregory's adventures in Mega Pizzaplex and his interesting discoveries about Fazbear Entertainment.

By the way, I'll be spending more time on the FNAF topic on my Deviantart (while on Tumblr I'll be talking more about Zelda), as this platform is arguably the main home of FNAF artists. They even styled their 22nd birthday event as FNAF!

After the release of the trailer announcing the postponement of Tears of the Kingdom to 2023, I saw a bunch of comics where Link from Skyward Sword was about to kick his later reincarnation's ass for failing to keep Fi from getting damaged. And all this gave me the idea to make the spirit of Skyward either a grumpy grandpa who considers the new generation to be irresponsible losers the personification of Link's sense of unfulfilled duty to dead friends, or some kind of ghostly mentor who will help Link not to make fatal mistakes. And yes, I came up with my own design for Link in Tears of the Kingdom, exclusively for my AU.

I changed a few days back, when @seresinsweetie made me a few new profile pics! I requested one with a pale green background (my current one) and just loved it so much that I changed the entire colour scheme on my blog theme! I'm glad you like it!

The new photoshoot with Glen almost killed me. I was lucky to be laying down when I first saw the photos. I don't know how he always looks so fricking good, but he does.

It was all one big joke. He didn’t need something like a dating app to meet girls. He is Oscar “Spooky” Diaz, he has no trouble in the ladies department. But out of the blue, on a lazy Sunday, he thought he’d download the overhyped Tinder app.

What harm can it do? 

He scoffed at some of the girls that popped up. Most of them, he already had hooked up with, some for a single night and others on multiple nights. He got bored of seeing the girls that he already did. Oscar decided to extend the range further out from Freeridge. 

Sunday’s called for deep cleaning with you. It was the, technical, beginning of a new week and nothing says welcome new week like a clean slate. All the stress and baggage from the previous long forgotten. 

The music is bumping from the living room as you are scrubbing the counter top. You like the routine you have, you have a well paying job, a nice apartment in a busy city right outside of LA and have felt the greatest you ever have. But you can’t deny that you’ve sat on your couch many nights with one too many empty wine bottles nearby, far too often. 

As your mother would say, you can be alone but not lonely. Learn how to separate the two. 

And for the most part you could do that. You would keep to yourself but keep busy enough that it wouldn’t linger in your mind that you’re in your mid-20’s, a successful person but no one to share it with. You could, right?

Hell yes, you can! That’s why you are currently setting up a Tinder profile nearing the witching hour? You’ve hesitated with the whole thing, what pictures to add, what to say in your bio, and why do they have oddly specific interests to choose from? Online dating is certainly more complicated than you previously thought. And problematic, you’ll soon learn.

Oscar kept finding himself uninterested when he matched with a few women. He would sigh, getting the You’ve Matched! notification. One might not understand why he wasn’t finding any pleasure in it, especially when he would get messages from those he would match with and how they wanted to do things with him and to him.

There was a split second pause when he came across your profile. 

He stares at your picture and scrolls through the 3 that you choose to upload. Hm, he wondered. Even though each of them showed you in a different mood, there’s a twinkle in your eye in all of them. The corner of Oscar’s lips lifted a little. This was an app for quick relief. Why does he begin to think of more mundane things when looking at your pictures? Left swipe. 

Los Angeles is a big city. Beyond your mind’s capacity to comprehend how many fine bachelors and bachelorettes Tinder is holding. The thought of finding a meaningful connection on an app like Tinder makes you snort. Everyone knows that this is a main source of booty calls. YG’s Toot it and Boot it should be its theme song. 

After some time it became boring. 

Though consciously aware of Tinder’s purpose, you still sigh at every profile you come across when the bio carries the vibes of one night stands. To be alone and not lonely. You kept on chanting as you began to swipe more right then left. 

It must have been quite the workout seeing as you woke a few hours later, the sun beginning to peak over the horizon, with your phone face down on your chest. You rub the sleep from your eyes, plug in your nearly dead phone and carry on with your morning routine, “Alexa, play Fuckin’ Perfect by P!nk.”

All while you contemplated which candle to light and whether you were going to put on athletic wear to actually work out or to just wear. Oscar goes on about his day, chilling around his house with Santos. 

“You know your sister is on Tinder. Mira mira, she says she lookin’ for someone to blow her mind and her back.” Oscar snorts after taking a drag of his cigarette, the surrounding Santos laugh along while Joker doesn’t find it amusing at all.

He shrugs off Oscar’s comment and then raises an eyebrow, “What’s Spooky doing on tinder anyways, huh?” This draws the fellas attention to Oscar who looks at them and scoffs, throwing down the half-smoked stick and smashing with the tip of his shoe.

“Wading the waters, foo.” Once they see his grin then they know it’s safe to laugh it out. They never know with Spooky sometimes, they can laugh and the next thing is a death glare from the Santo leader. 

Oscar pulls out his phone and opens the app again, mindlessly swiping right through the profiles. Sad Eyes notices how he isn’t even really looking through them before dismissing them. But he knew why, he knows his compa is tired of the meaningless connection even though Oscar would never actually say it outloud.

When the afternoon hit, you stopped the audible book you had playing and headed to the kitchen to whip up a quick sandwich. As you are enjoying it, you mindlessly open the Tinder app, almost forgetting about it entirely, and begin skimming through the profiles. 

Handsome, sexy, boring, yikes, nope.. well, wait a minute. 

Your thumb hovers over a profile that caught your eye. You look at the first picture and think, damn, he sure is something to look at. Though facial tattoos weren’t something you were into much, it suited him. He even has better eyelashes than you, even with your eyelash extensions. 

“Spooky. The hell kind of name is that?” You whisper to yourself. You scroll through his pictures and feel the heat rising in your cheeks. He really is kind of cute, not kind of, he is very cute. 

You look through his information and bio. He is freeridge and seems to run with the Santos, street gang. Oh boy, your mother would wring your neck. But yet, it doesn’t stop you from swiping left. 

At the same time, you and Oscar both get the notifications that you’ve got a match. You gasp a little as you see that Oscar is the one you matched with. As if it was cursed text, you fling your phone onto the couch. This wasn’t your first match, so what got you all teenage girl starstruck?

The grin on Oscar's face catches Jokers. The Santo leans over and sees how his compa lingers over your profile, scrolling through your pictures and staring at each one intently.

“Nah, you see this why I don’t fuck with all the online shit. Bitches love to catfish. Talkin’ bout, she look like Cardi B online but rata in real life. Naw fuck that!” Joker exclains, pushing Oscar’s shoulder. 

Oso deadpans, holding back a grin, “Wait, there is difference between a rata and Cardi B?” Everyone bursts out into laughter as another Santo threatens them for making fun of his future wife.

But between the laughter and continued talk of catfishing, Oscar thinks how he has been there too. And it wasn’t that he met a girl one night, all fine looking and the next morning she doesn’t look the same. That isn’t his definition of catfishing. He meant full blown wasn’t even the same person in the picture, now that is catfish.

“Com’m Spooky, look. Homegirl got filters on every one of her pictures. These days pictures alter the shape of your face and shit. And lightening the skin tones and all that messed up shit. I can literally make a viejita and fine ass hyna on my phone. Nah, fuck that online bullshit.” As if this becomes one of those TED talks, they go on and on. 

Surprisingly, the guys don’t solely blame the ladies but the creators of such filters and apps for creating such a stigma around being beautiful with certain features and skin tones. What the fuck was on the joint that was passed around?

With all and any courage Oscar had left, he sends you a quick message.

Wassup.

Your phone chimes with a different sound indicating that it wasn’t another match but a private message. When you turn it over and see it’s a message from Spooky, you shriek again and drop your phone back face down.

What was in that candle you burned earlier? It was a new one that you got from those all natural, organic stores. People who shop there religiously almost always claim to be woke so there has to be some kind of herb in there that causes spikes of…. shyness? 

The nervousness is still on high drive when you pick up the phone and open the message. Your fingers ghosting over the keyboard as you try to figure out what to say back, like it’s hard to reply back to wassup.

When you still don’t write anything back, another message comes through.

Free this Saturday?

“Com’n and say something! Most guys don’t keep interest in girls who leave them on read, say something back!” You scold yourself. You looked crazy, yelling at your phone as if it were the problem here. 

With a deep breath and squared shoulders, you calm your mind and respond back. You don’t give him the overly excited response nor do you give a dry one either. You’re chill and show that you are interested and indeed free on Saturday. 

In a blink of an eye, it’s now Saturday and you’re in the bathroom at this nice little restaurant. You and Oscar had exchanged numbers and actually talked quite a lot on the phone. He seemed so laid back and chill, nothing how his external shell presented. Hard and cold. 

It was a quick check in the mirror that everything still looked good. It’s going to be one magical night. But when you emerge from the bathroom and head back to Oscar, he shows signs of agitation. “Everything okay?”

“Pinche cabrón said that there isn’t a reservation. I know I made one and even double checked yesterday.” He exhales a deep breath through his nostrils. Oscar is staring down the hostess, who looks intimated. 

But you are stuck on the fact that he double checked. That this happening is the biggest inconvenience because that means that he really wanted tonight to happen. You smile while looking at him, feeling your cheeks warm. Softly, you nudge him to get his attention.

Oscar has his eye brows pinched together when he looks your way, he relaxes his face when he sees your soft eyes. There goes that twinkle in them. 

“I had planned to make dumplings for dinner last night but ended up ordering take out. You like to cook, right? I can teach you how to make them. Everything from the homemade wrappers to each ingredient to make an impeccable filing. Whaddaya say?” You ask him and bite your bottom lip, gently. 

Without so much as another look into the bustling restaurant, Oscar takes your hand and leads you back to his car. You had to admit that his car is almost better looking than him, almost. He drives you back to your place and you tell him all about how you craft your pork and veggie dumplings, as he tells you the significant difference between chives, scallions and green onions. 

He is impressed with the size of your apartment, complimenting your cleanliness and sense of interior design. You quirk an eyebrow at him as he shrugs mentioning he had a lot of magazines to read during his time at Corcoran. 

The two of you dive into the art of crafting the perfect dumpling. You instruct him with how to, when to and why to. Well, it started that way. Halfway along the way, it became Oscar telling you what spices should go in there, as a suggestion of course.

“Sesame oil will bring out the richness in the soy sauce. Trust me.”

By the end of the hour long process of prep, cook and serve, your simple dipping sauce of soy sauce and rice vinegar ended up getting a makeover with the addition of sugar, sesame oil, Japanese assorted chili pepper flakes and grated ginger-garlic. Scallions as garnish and it’s more than you ever imagined it could be.

“Now, open.” You do as told and let him feed you. When you bite down, your knees go weak. Your eyes beam and he laughs, crossing his arms to wait for a thank you, you were so right!

You take a second to process the flavors after finishing your bite, “That oyster sauce really does make all the difference. How do you know so much about Asian cuisine?” You ask him. 

“I like to educate myself. All cultures are unique and I like to teach myself about it, try it out sometimes. So you like it?” Oscar leans against the counter as you do. You step a bit closer and lick your lips. 

He watches you as you smile to yourself and nod, finally looking back at him.

You look into his eyes at first but they lead you astray to look at his lips. Wow, his lips are really nice. He takes notice and steps closer, feeling his heart hammer. Were you making the first move? 

When you stand on the tip of your toes to close in space between you two, he lets his hands rest on your hips. You move yours to rest on his chest, “Can you teach me more?” You ask in a whisper.

Lub, dub, lub, dub, lub, dub goes his heart. 

“What do you want to know?” He swallows thickly. 

You move your hands to his neck, “Mexican cuisine.”

He is less then an inch to pressing his lips to yours when you step back. He looks confused as you give him something of a sinister smile, “What your favorite dish?”

Oscar laughs and rubs the nape of his neck, he drops his head forward and smiles. Little traviesa. You rest your elbows on the counter and let your chin rest in your hands. He takes the dish rag and flings it to you, “Nah, I don’t think you're ready for that just yet.”

“Oh c'mon! I am so ready.” The two of you are laughing as you plate more dumplings and sit to enjoy them on your kitchen island. You moan in satisfaction as the flavors erupt in your mouth. 

 “Second date. We’ll grill at my place and I’ll teach you anything you want to know over some coronas.” He brushes his thumb below your eye, never imagining he’d have a night like this.

About Me:

Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time for this supposedly brief introduction. To start, I am an adult, 23 years old. From Monday to Friday, I work from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 or 3:30 p.m., and when I get home, I usually draw whatever I like the most. I tend to go with the flow of the song or the soundtrack I’m listening to. I enjoy expressing the characters' feelings, and I use the digital watercolor canvas.

I don't usually talk to anyone unless we have something in common. I’m very selective about who I follow and who I don't. I don't like following users who mention "pro," "anti," "neutral," and a whole list of labels that have been invented. Reading conflicts on social media only causes me anxiety and makes me want to cry.

I always like to share my musical tastes; they are my inspiration to keep drawing and move forward. I also like to think that it makes you curious to listen to them, and that makes me really happy. So, don't be surprised if you see a list of songs or soundtracks when you finish browsing my blog. Honestly, music helps express the character's feelings, even though it can sometimes be contradictory.

Fandoms:

First of all, it's important to know what series or movie catches my attention, as that’s what I usually post about. The main ones are Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Moral Orel, and Komi San (sad version).

WARNING & CLARATION:

I mostly post my sketches; unfortunately, I rarely have a finished drawing, and if you find one, it's a miracle. As I’ve mentioned, I draw after work, and to be honest, I have a life, so sometimes I stop drawing on the computer.

I want to clarify that even if I post the sketch, I tend to update it with the finished drawing later, so I apologize if you've been waiting for too long.

I warn you that most of my drawings will deal with somewhat difficult themes to digest, so thanks to Tumblr's new feature, I will start censoring some of my drawings as a warning. I sincerely apologize if, at some point, a drawing couldn't be censored.

MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS:

I need to clarify that if you follow me for a certain series or movie content and suddenly see a drawing of Green Goblin, it's because he's the patron of this account. Believe me, I'm a big fan of drawing GG, he's one of my favorite characters. I call it a "miracle" because once I stop drawing content from a certain fandom, I definitely won’t draw it again until I regain that inspiration.

AU's & HEADCANON'S:

I’m a fan of AU's and headcanons; most of the time, I make drawings about that. I really love the creativity of people when narrating wonderful stories about certain characters.

I’m a fan of drawing ships, especially OC x Canon Character, though I’ll sound contradictory because I don’t like pairing my own OC's with canon characters—it makes me uncomfortable… but I do enjoy drawing other people's ships. I always laugh at how ironic I can sound.

And yes, I’m a fan of ships. I mostly get into a fandom thanks to a ship I saw on social media or heard about from my real-life friends. I don’t pay much attention to character details when pairing them, until I get so into it that, when I see a problem, I get upset. But a friend taught me something I hadn’t considered before. So, If you ever see one of my ships and think, "this is problematic," I need to clarify that it’s not, under the context of an AU I created where both characters meet and are the same age. I hate when characters have a three-year or more age gap… just finding out is heartbreaking. (Cry's in español... )

Hey, I’m Max! Hailing from the Land Down Under, I’m a twenty-one year old aspiring writer, artist, and all-round lover of the eccentric.

In my desperate attempt to rekindle the dying embers of my creativity, I’ve come to seek refuge here, in the Tumblr writing community! While I’m mostly known for being an artist online, I am fairly new among writing circles, and it’s been a good few years since I’ve made any original writing of my own. My writing-related interests include having:

A propensity for dabbling in long-winded, pretentious prose, dripping with affectation and garnished in sarcasm.

An eclectic taste in literature: I love genres of all sorts! Speculative fiction is my go-to, but I specifically enjoy New Weird fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, horror of practically all kinds, as well as mystery and crime fiction.

A shameless tendency for writing sad, pathetic men in the midst of existential dread, and;

An unwavering desire to break the conventions of storytelling, one grueling draft at a time. :’) The weirder the stories, the better!

MY WRITING

What should you expect from my writing?

I love character-driven stories, so those tend to be the focus of my work. I especially enjoy exploring the processes of thinking my characters go through to justify their actions, which makes morally-ambiguous characters some of my favourite types of characters to write and read.

My settings tend to be dystopic, severely-skewed from the narrator’s perspective, or otherwise otherworldly. I mean, the setting almost always ends up being Earth, just... Earth, but five steps to the left.

Many of my works aim to add a bit more diversity to queer writing and storytelling, with an emphasis on attempting to capture queer experiences that are not often depicted in media.

🌷 I think first step is to choose a theme?

It’s not required and honestly my main blog is just the classic tumblr theme. I just change the color schemes depending on the banner I’ve chosen. I also prefer the grid view so I can see around 4 columns of content since that is my main blog for posting fangirling content + ongoing fics + random stuff. For ggukkiereads, I really prefer if content is posted per column and I decided to choose from different theme creators!

🌷 banners and profile pictures

For banner making, I just use Canva. My pfp is butter Joonie/sugakitty which I had commissioned and I can just change or use them in all banners as I wish. There’d be banners on twitter too for profile layouts that you can use for free but they are usually for twitter layouts. If you like some you can ask the artist if you can use the profile photo or banner for tumblr instead of twitter.

If you need to remove a background, there is a free bg remover online. 

Note: important to give credit to the source. In my blogs, I usually document where I get the photos, etc.

🌷 color schemes

I just used Canva for the color codes (hex codes). Tumblr will also suggest a color palette when you’re choosing the blog colors. I guess just experiment and have fun with it? See what colors you like or speak to you.

🌷 mobile

Please note that sometimes your desktop theme will look different on mobile. And this gives me headaches and I am not prepared to give tips because it’s a “let’s wing it” process for me when setting my mobile theme. I guess try simple themes first? Then once you are confident with theme changing, you can start customizing more details of your blog for mobile (you have to use customize for mobile link which you can find on your dashboard settings)

It seems like my bad witch too tough like a grunge aestetics acting likd a goth that is the theme of my tumblr (such I relate to in subtle ways compared to mh normal, style) If seems that it had a big bad negative effect on my ask box. OK ok that's such an extreme lol 😆 but I mean yall might of got a perspective of the OLD ME through that view of my blog ... like yeh when I use to be a teen and had lots more health and vitality and my kickass style was rockin my socks instead of hospital gown gear and I.V dreading bedding in this damn depression of my anxious corner of my mind and my weak body but yah I am tough exterior like I take no shit that's for sure and sassy sure I'm able to sass you lol it's just my energy level these days isn't the goth hard-core witch fae I use to be as much I'm milder and calmer but hysterical at the same time because I'm dying 😅🙃 and this is crazy I haven't come to terms with it , I don't have my bucket list cleared I'm so lost ....

Theme Creation: A Thought Part 3

Just another installment of my writing Theme Creation: A Thought.

In this writing, I will share with you my process of thoughts when it comes to making themes. Nothing much but this writing is targeted for people who are unsure where to start when it comes to creating theme. 

Every theme-maker is different so just because I create my theme this way, it does not mean that you are bound to do the same. 

a. Designing

What I love the most when it comes to theme-making is actually the process of designing. Brainstorming is something that I love to do!  I would design a few rough ideas and their placements for my new theme. Placements here mean where should I put the sidebars, the containers, etc.  Depending on the mood, I will design it digitally so that I will see the colors better:

I have my own minibook where I brainstorm most of the designs here.

Most of the rough designs will not ended up the same as the final product since I tend to improvise my design along the way + I forgot to include vital small features like pagination, and permalinks.

b. Deciding the color schemes 

I’ve never been the type of person who is good with selecting color schemes. However, I tend to select colors based on a photo that I used for my theme. Examples:

i. Lil Mo’s Theme

The colors are based on Lil Mo himself (the sidebar image)

ii. Redirect Page 01: Game

The color for the [Get the Code] derives from the houses and the [Back to Themes] derives from the signboard.

iii. My Personal Blog:

The colors selection comes from the Header’s image (Mononoke)

c. Customizing the larger parts of the theme

For my themes in general, I tend to start from places that are not really related with the posts such as sidebars, headers and even footers. I personally like doing things that are not necessarily related to the post because I find it easier to create as to compare with the posts itself. 

For posts, we all know that there’s a lot of petty details that you need to focus on etc. I find that perfectly annoying to be honest lol!

In regards to where I edit it, I have 2 side blogs that I personally use as my editor. One is specifically for theme editor and another is just my abandon blog that I changed its purpose to theme editor.

d. Customizing the posts - text/photo/photoset/audio/link/video/chat/ask etc

I realize that some of the theme-makers tend to simply copy and paste their old posts code and apply it on their new theme. Though it is perfectly fine, I try my best to not do that because I think that the best way to improve oneself is to make new designs every time.

But because of that ‘mindset’ itself, I ended up burdening myself with thinking individual designs of each posts. Nonetheless, here are my ranking from posts that I enjoy working on the most to the part where I don’t like it at all:

Text post: Easy

Quote: My favorite! There’s a lot of way to design this post

Video: Too easy. No need to beautify it that much

Ask 

Photo

Link: I honestly have no idea how to customize it

Chat: (My inner thought: A feature I believe is so not important but I still need to make it pretty because who knows there are user who mainly posts chat posts. I can’t make them that plain?)

Audio: I like creating this post but because there’s a lot things that need to be customized (including spotify and soundcloud), it becomes something that I find bothersome (and ended up doing it last).

e. Doing the petty parts of the blogs

 I don’t know about other theme-makers but I personally do not like to create minor details like note counts, permalinks, tags and even likes and reblogs. This is due to the fact that I was too engrossed in perfecting the posts I ended up forgetting to leave space for the minor details.

Conclusion

That’s all from me! There’s nothing beneficial about it aside from the fact that I rant here and there lol. But for those who have idea where to start when it comes to create a theme, I hope it can give you an overview on where to start!

Packers Meet Prospects - Dalvin Cook

I was a little upset that I wouldn’t be able to feature Cook in my Top 3 running backs series. Cook is considered by many to be the top back in the class and has even been considered the 2017 version of Ezekiel Elliot. With all the high regard, it wouldn’t make much sense to feature the guy since it’s very unlikely the Packers will have a chance to draft him.

The Packers, however, don’t seem to share my concerns. As of March 3rd, I’ve only been able to track down one player the Packers have met with and it’s Mr. Dalvin Cook. Could it be? Could Cook actually fall to 29? Would the Packers consider trading up if he slid within a few picks?

About Dalvin Cook

Dalvin got his start at Miami Central High School where he was named Mr. Football for the state of Florida. Dalvin was also a track and field star for the state as one of Florida’s top sprinters.

Coming out of high school, Cook was considered a 5 star recruit by Rivals, and committed briefly to Clemson before deciding to play for the University of Florida. After Florida went 4-8, Cook made the decision to change his allegiance, and committed to Florida State.

As a Freshman, Cook became the first back to break the 1,000 yard mark in his first year. He also tacked on 8 touchdowns and 203 receiving yards.

As a sophomore he seriously upped his game. In 12 games he notched 1,691 yards on 229 carries for a 7.9 ypc average and 19 touchdowns. He added 24 catches for 244 yards and a touchdown.

In 2016 he showed no signs of slowing down rushing for 1,765 yards and 19 touchdowns. He caught 33 passes for an additional TD.

Blocking

Easily in the asset column, Cook is a great overall blocker. He does a great job shuffling his feet and squaring up with even the biggest rushers. His reaction time is also impressive as he quickly finds a player that slips passed the line, readjusts, and puts a hit on the blocker giving the quarterback at least a few extra seconds to escape.

It might seem sort of strange to pick a play in which he gives up a sack but I put that on the quarterback.  Dalvin not only squares up and hits the linebacker, he holds his block until eventually getting ripped to the side.

The linebacker, by the way, is All-ACC honorable mention and division I All-New England Team Connor Strachan. Not typically the kind of guy a RB can stand up and brawl with.

Protecting the quarterback isn’t the only evidence we have on film of Cook’s blocking ability. He is also pretty talented when tasked with downfield blocks.

The play above is actually pretty remarkable. He makes it look easy as he finds his mark, sprints toward him, squares up, and drives him straight back as though it’s a blocking bag.

Receiving

Overall Cook can destroy you in a lot of different ways. That will be a common theme as we progress. Below I’ll outline three different ways Cook can hurt you as a receiver.

The first two show Cook out of the backfield.

The first of the two shows Cook release into the flat. The art of these plays is to be able to make people miss. Although I’m going to list that as a liability later on, when standing still or moving slowly, like in the play above, he has some shiftiness and can get up the field in a hurry.

Above, Cook  runs a similar route but rather than sitting in the flat, burns down the field. Cook is uncovered in the play but his speed is still on display. As the ball is under thrown, causing Cook to slow down, Miami players are sprinting full speed toward him. Cook is able to turn his body and get up to speed in time to not only beat the Miami defenders, but leave them in a cloud of dust.

In the final example, Cook splits out wide. He’s at the top of the screen.

In the very unfortunate event that a linebacker gets manned up on Cook, you had better hope he doesn’t split out wide.

Such is the case in the clip above. 6-4 242 pound linebacker Mike McCray is playing man to man with Dalvin Cook. It was over before it started. Cook immediately gets behind him and is even able to slow down to make the catch.

Rushing

Something that came as a bit of a surprise to me was the fact that Dalvin Cooks bread and butter wasn’t between the tackles but was around the edge.

Yes it was a touchdown. Look how cook not only has the speed to beat everyone around the edge but flies past the corners and safeties as though they are standing still. Cook’s official 4.49 40 time in the combine is certainly an asset and it won’t be the last time we see Cook take it to the house from around the edge.

Another massive asset of the thick 213 pound Cook is his thump on the goal line. Although he’s much better around the edge than between the tackles, if you need a couple yards don’t be afraid to feed the man.

Never is there a better example than against Michigan. Although the 5’11 Cook gets lost in the pile, it’s not hard to guess where he is by the bodies flying through the air on his way to the end zone. Specifically, you may notice one poor man that decides to go toe to toe with Cook and gets his head taken off. That monster of a man is 6-5 238 pound linebacker, Noah Furbush, may he rest in peace.

Between the tackles is where we get to the good/bad part of Cook. I think a good description of Cook is a freight train. The good part of being a freight train is that if you find space and can get up to speed in a hurry you can do some damage.

Above, Cook finds a hole, is able to make a quick move and get north and south. Once he gets going he’s a wrecking ball. Cook is able to turn an 8 yard play into a 13 yard play using raw power.

Negatives

One things I learned about trains I learned from my grandfather when he found out my brother and I were playing by the train tracks. He told us that even if a train sees us, it can take up to a mile to bring the train to a stop. Do you get what I’m saying?

I took a lot of flack among my college analyst friends when I repeatedly knocked Cook for his inability to change direction. In fact, it’s one thing that he is constantly praised for. Here is an excerpt from Cook’s NFL.com draft profile.

“Keeps feet under him and is able to make lateral cuts at a moment’s notice.”

Ultimately my issue with Cook was vindicated during the combine. Cook’s 3 cone drill (agility test) and 20 yard shuttle (change of direction test) were one of the worst in a very long time and shocked just about everyone… Just about.

In a sense, Cook can make people miss. You can see in the previous play he at least has some ability to jump laterally and get north and south. The issue for Cook comes when he is moving at full speed.  I went on to name his disorder “clumsy feet”. Here are just a few examples of clumsy feet.

I think I’ve made my point. Cook has great ability as a blocker, a receiver, and has incredible burst, straight line speed, and power. Those things coupled together make him lethal and a guy that demands perfection from your defense.

Although his clumsy feet are troubling, I have little doubt he will be tormenting NFL defenses in 2017.  I would be very happy to see him in green and gold next year.
