You were born and raised in the Edo era, in Japan. and it was a nightmare.

You lived in poverty all your life, practically alone with your sick father who could barely take care of himself, but he always tried to take care of you above all else.

You spent a lot of your life trying to take care of him back, but it was difficult because of money, you couldn't afford it. so you did the only thing you could think of: steal medicine.

Obviously many times this didn't turn out well, and they ended up catching you and taking you to be beaten and tattooed like a criminal, but it was the kind of life you led until your father died.

That was when you hit rock bottom, but you met certain people who helped you move forward. a martial arts master and his sick daughter (who reminded you a lot of your father).

And it was the time when you lived better, you took care of your teacher's daughter and you learned from him, you had a good life.

you and his daughter even fell in love!

everything had fallen into place in your life...

until conflicts broke out again.

You don't remember much about your last days of life, it was a cycle of going, killing whoever got in your way, returning with whatever you wanted from your group, and whatever followed...

You just wanted to go home.

but you died before that.

and just as you expected, after everything you had done wrong in your life, you ended up in hell.

It wasn't exactly like the hell you had imagined growing up, but it was definitely difficult to adjust, knowing that you were dead, in this hole of misery, far from them...

but you didn't waste your time. You discovered quite quickly that several of your physical abilities had stayed with you, so you took advantage of them and became a quite formidable demon.

You wouldn't say you were an Overlord, but you were definitely an anomaly to Hell's QUO status, a demon who had become powerful without the need for owning souls.

As for the Hotel issue, I think that Akaza! reader would be skeptical, I don't think he would have a problem offering himself as a test subject for the hotel because 1- there is Alastor, someone very strong, and 2- he has a small hope that the hotel will work and maybe, just maybe he can redeem himself and go. to heaven with his love and his teacher, what he loves most. although he wouldn't say the last thing out loud.

Speaking of relationships, Alastor and him can actually get along in a very ambiguous way, Alastor is not happy with someone who is so strong without even having souls of their own, so he is cautious, but not in a threatening way.

Although there is something these two have in common, THEY RESPECT WOMEN.

Alastor can definitely introduce him to Akaza! read several of his female friends to be more "social" and get possible blackmail material.

Alastor secretly knows of the possible motives behind why Akaza! Reader would like the hotel to work, he thinks he is naive, but he doesn't make fun, Alastor partly understands why he feels that way. leaves him alone in that sense.

...but it bothers him in every other way! using it as an armrest, innocuous phrases, crushing it with things out of nowhere, etc. He always has something up his sleeve to piss him off.

but they can ally if women get involved ;)

Charlie is so so so so so happy to have Akaza! reader as another participant alongside Angel and Sir Pentious! She constantly thanks him for his collaboration and tells him how much it means to her.

Lots of encouragement during the trust exercises! she realizes that Akaza! Reader is not very talkative, and although she does not force him to change, she "subtly" encourages him to be more open with the exercises.

Although that does not mean that she admits the fights, she tries to encourage Akaza! reader to find another way to get out his anger and energy in less destructive ways.

I think she would be the only one who knows through Akaza! reader why he wants the hotel to work, and she is SO MOVED by him because Reader wants to redeem himself and that gives him a lot of motivation to do more exercises.

Even if is sometimes a double-edged sword because she feels pressured not only by wanting to help her friends, but also by Akaza's cute motive! reader.

Akaza! reader is very protective of Charlie even if she is the princess of hell, he is like a bodyguard! or a very loyal pitbull. Charlie finds it endearing (but please don't rip that demon's head off please---)

Vaggie is scared of Akaza at first! reader for his aggressive nature.

She is afraid that he will end up directing that destructive energy towards them if he is very angry, so she is very cautious at first.

but eventually she can relax more and more with him as she realizes that (at least with women) he's not going to explode on anyone who doesn't deserve it. and that in fact he is a good man.

sparring together! Vaggie feels kind of bad that he doesn't have a gun, but is surprised at how tough he is.

If she finds out his reason behind going to the hotel, she supports him a lot in his journey of redemption, more than before, she empathizes with him.

They both have similar motives.

Vaggie really appreciates when Akaza! reader defends the female staff against Angel's out-of-place comments. she may even allow him to hit him.

You two are the main people in charge of protecting the hotel.

Let's be honest, Angel dust at first was just "flirting"/sexually harassing Akaza! reader until he beat him up and never did it again.

He thought he was simply bitter about life until he remembered that on one occasion he told him that "he was taken" and he didn't take it so personally.

After the duet with Husk, he went directly to apologize to him and they were on bad terms.

Angel occasionally likes to prank him like everyone else in the hotel, but he's considerably less annoying with Akaza! reader because he knows what he is capable of.

When he eventually finds out why he is "taken" and why someone like him is in the hotel, he can't help but empathize with him a lot (from his sister in heaven), and tries to be his "Husk" at his lowest moment. .

Even if technically Akaza!reader is stronger than him in every way, he takes care of him in his own way, watching his drink, not being robbed, etc.

Angel is definitely not used to so much respect when it comes to his gender identity, which is why he respects Akaza a lot! reader.

They generally start off on the wrong foot but manage to be friends.

Husk likes Akaza! reader, simply because it gets on Alastor's nerves and because he knows that he won't kick the ass of someone who doesn't deserve it. He knows everyone is safe with him.

He definitely knows about his reason for being in the hotel and pities him, respects his privacy a lot after that and doesn't let him talk drunk.

Husk may get to have his "loser baby" moment with Akaza! reader but in a platonic way, helping him when it is especially difficult to stay away from violence.

They can even have a father-son relationship, Husk is very similar to Akaza's teacher! reader in many ways EMOTIONALLY SPEAKING so Akaza! reader feels comfortable with him.

she definitely tells him things about her past as Overlord to entertain him.

Sir Pentious at first was TERRIFIED of Akaza!reader, his reputation was as a tough guy who went after evil people and Pentious (having his poor self-image) thought he would kill him as soon as he saw him.

but fortunately it was not like that!

but he was definitely avoiding it for DAYS before he heard from the others that Akaza!reader wasn't that bad and was actually quite nice. to give him a chance.

and Pentious did just that. and he was VERY surprised.

Akaza! reader has had to dismantle several of Sir Pentious's evil machines using his enormous strength, and although Pentious was heartbroken to see his machines destroyed, he was also VERY surprised by Akaza!reader's capabilities, even giving me more things to do. break and test their strength (imagine this pair getting to know the Rage Rooms).

Pentious Minnions occasionally go to Akaza! reader when P. is not there, which is fun to see because Akaza!reader would try to get away from the Minions that come after him like ducks.

Akaza! reader clearly notices Pentious's crush on Cherri, and encourages him to do something now that he has time.

(Can you imagine Akaza! reader's Koyuki becoming friends with Pentious in heaven? It would be Epico).

tldr; dont go shitting on people's works just bcs u didnt like it, thats some disgusting asshole behavior, fuck u if u do so.

and pls show your fanfic writers lots of appreciation, they are the biggest backbone in most fandoms, they deserve nothing but love.

there's something so insane and illogical when it comes to the people that read fanfics (which have clear explicit and alternative universe tags) yet proceed to complain about how these had — surprise, suprise! — sexual content and scenarios/personalities that weren't an exact copy of the ones in the source media.

and usually one would want to believe people will keep their opinions to themselves or rant about it in a private space with close friend(s), because that's the bare minimum one can do to show some respect towards a writer that shared their fanwork for free.

but recently, that's not been the case.

bcs now there's this new trend going around (specifically in tiktok, to the surprise of nobody) where people publish videos talking about how a certain fanfic was — and i quote — "incredibily ooc", "genuinely weird", "overrated", "poorly written", "a freak fest".

and this type of behavior wouldn't be so shocking (even tho is not ok) if it was coming from one random person in the internet, but because this is happening in tiktok (which is a well-known platform for having the biggest audience reach when it comes to social media apps) the hate is extremely amplified.

when i tell u the amount of hate these tiktoks gather is insane, i mean i've seen them surpass the 3,000+ comments (which is more than half of the comments the fanfic has). and most of these consist of people sharing their even more aggressive opinions about the fanfic, or even saying how "this other fanfic is better".

it honestly mind blows me every time i see this happening, because — or at least in my experience — there's always been this unsaid rule (even though i'd dare to say it's more of a sense of logic) in fandom spaces where everybody knows that if you didn't like the work of a fan, you close the tab and move on with your day. because, what do you gain for belittling the efforts/hard-work someone put in something that won't change the source media, or ur life?

and if you are one of those bystanders that applies the whole "people need to learn to take criticism" to this situation then u are wrong. no debates. because,

in this case, this so-called criticism it's just a sugar-coat for hateful comments.

that is NOT how criticism works, not when the author didn't ask for any feedback what-so-ever and even less when we are talking about a story that nobody pays for to consume it.

it's baffling to see readers develop this liberty that makes them think it's ok to say whatever they feel like saying about fandom works, without taking in consideration that behind every fanfic, fanart, music, skit, etc. there's a person that probably felt proud of their work and is happy about creating something.

also, i feel in the need to clear out that even though i'm talking about a specific fanfic in this post (which is in the tags in case u haven't figured it out yet), it's definitely not the only one that's received this treatment. i've seen it happen in the kpop, danmei, and harry potter side too, specially in marauders.

i believe this behavior is due to a shift in fandom culture that started because of covid, but that's like, a whole other rant post for another day.

Shao Kahn x Earthrealm Child Reader: Friendship?

Warning: Maybe OOC Shao? Plot never plots when it's me writing ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Winds grow intense as the giant green ring of a portal forms for the tyrant. He's grown too impatient to wait another day to capture Earthrealm, he'd do it himself if he really has to. No one can stop him or his rapid ambition.

Darkly chuckling, he walks through the portal, each step he takes heavy enough to make weak foes tremble before him. "Earthrealm, bow to your new emperor!" Shao Kahn calls through the portal to his audience. "Prepare! As I, Shao Kahn, will conquer you all!" He triumphantly raises his hammer, ready for chaos, but when he fully enters enemy territory, something seemed off.

No one was around, making him look rather awkward that he was yelling to himself. The portal closes behind him and he views his surroundings: nothing but dead trees and chilly air. Shao was more expecting of a large city, one similar to when the realms merge before. The tyrant growls at the inconvenience.

A small clap was heard somewhere from above. "That was cool!" Shao became alerted at the voice, looking up to see a small human sitting on one of the leafless trees, resting on a branch.

"You there!" He points his hammer up at you. "Tell me where I am!"

Looking to the side awkwardly and back at him you answered. "The woods...?" You reply nonchalantly with vagueness. How does someone that can summon portals not know where exactly they're teleporting to?

Shao Kahn growls under his breath. "Where's the Sky Temple?"

"I don't know. This town is small and boring." You complain.

Seeing that you're no help, he turns away from you and starts walking off, figuring out where his destination is to perhaps bash the head in of a certain demigod. As for you, you tilt your head before quickly, and carefully, climbing down the tree and running up with him. "Where are we going?"

Shao stopped and look down at you. By the Gods, you were so small compared to him. "We?" He copied your word. You nodded. "I don't need some soft Earthrealm child to follow me on my mission! Besides, you should be fearing me!"

Yet, you remain unfazed as he was yelling down at you, and he looks as if he'd crush you without a second thought. "Well, I don't! I won't misbehave, I promise!" You beg. The town was so boring and there was so much to explore, you wanted to go on his journey.

"Don't you have a bedtime? Begone! I've no time for babysitting. Return to your parents!" Again, you reject his demand. "They have other children they're more worried about! Besides, starting right now, you're my new friend! And I command you to bring me with you!" You playfully command.

The giant man doesn't take you serious, and he has better things to do than lose it with some... seven year old, however long you been brought to existence. "If you perish, it's on you." He continues walking, you following up behind him.

Shao Kahn returns to Outworld, to his palace, sighing. Even a big, strong brute like him needs his rest. He may not have conquered Earthrealm like he intended to, but there's progress. And he's fine with that.

The portal closes behind him and he goes back to bossing around his servants, demanding them to do this and that, patronizing them because he can. Now he's thinking about going to seek one of his concubines until something odd pops him out his mind.

"Let go! Y-You ugly jerks!" That voice sounds familiar. He swiftly goes around the corner to examine the fuss, and for the first time ever, his heart drops.

It was you. And you were squirming in the clutches of two Tarkatans. Shao mentally face palms himself, knowing your naivety would definitely get you into a situation like this. He knows he shouldn't care and just let the Tarkatans eat the stupid Earthrealm youngling, but he just can't.

"Stop! Release her!" He stomps forward and demands. The Tarkatans do lower you, but not release you as they looked at their emperor, confused. You were glad he steps in, still trying to get away from the scary looking figures.

"I said release her!" He repeats harshly.

One speaks up. You couldn't understand the words it was saying. Hell, how could it even speak a clear word with that mouth?

"I don't care if she's from Earthrealm! You'll dirty my floor with her insides!" How does he know what they're saying?

"I didn't ask you to take her outside! If you don't unhand her from your hideous hands, I'll cut them off and make them your last meal!"

The two monsters exchanged glances before dropping you and walking off. You got to calm yourself and breathe now.

"Y/n!" Shao says, picking you up to your, checking for any cuts, gladly there aren't any. "What are you doing here?"

"I snuck through the portal behind you." You shivered, yet giving him a thumbs up. "I forgot to give you something I made while we traveled together." You pull out a small, poorly made bracelet, consistent of yellow, red, white, and black, tiny rubber bands.

He holds out a giant, clawed hand so you could drop the item onto his palm. You could tell he was raising an eyebrow under that helmet. "It's a friendship bracelet. I know it's not fancy, made of pretty gems like an emperor should have, which is why I would understand if you like... put it somewhere and never see it again, but," You say that last part with a certain tone, but continue on.

"I just want you to have it since you're my only friend. And I like you." You tell him with a smile.

He dangles your gift from his nails, looking at it softly. You're right, it's not expensive, but he will treasure it. Clutching it in his hand and looking back down at you. "Treason is a crime, Y/n." He warns you half heartedly. "But thanks, little one, you were always a kind, oddly interesting human."

Offering a giant hand, he summons a portal. "I shall accompany you home. Outworld isn't a place for you, unfortunately." You understand he meant well with that, putting your small hand in his larger one, which he very gently takes and walks with you through the portal.

— Therefore, Beam may already be accustomed with certain simple, customary tasks like sweeping, mopping, etc. He might not be familiar with the "modern household chores," like doing the laundry, using the dishwasher, or cleaning the refrigerator. But he can do the basics that you need him to, and Beam, he has the ability to learn things.

inspired by this mega post. None are exact copies (that I'm aware of) but in keeping with the general tone.

Who would end a heated argument by defending their actions with ‘because I love you!’ ? Brad. I think the argument would get very wordy (obviously) and he would end up twisting himself into a logically impossible state, and have to resort to "Because I love you!" But - both do stupid things on account of love.

What would they do if the other woke in a manic state after a nightmare? matter-of-fact and reassuring; here's where you are, here's what's real.

Do they wear the other’s clothes? (sweatshirt, bandana, necklace, etc.) Nate steals Brad's clothes.

Which one is more protective? Who needs to be ‘protected’? Brad is more protective, but neither of them needs protecting.

Describe their cozy night in. Nate is reading, working on something, and Brad is fiddling with gadget. At some point they play a game like Risk or Scrabble and get really pissed at each other

Who would beg the other not to leave? Who has to leave to protect the other? Depending on the circumstance, either would leave to protect the other, but I could see it more likely to happen with Nate leaving Brad. I don't really see either of them begging the other stay bc they're dumb and don't use their words.

Would they build a pillow fort together just because? No.

What happens if one of them gets sick? Brad freaks the fuck out and makes soup and takes Nate's temperature every ten seconds. Nate is much more reasonable.

What are their thoughts on having children? I think they both like kids, but it might not occur to them that they would be good at it together for a long while.

Describe their first date. They don't have one. They just trip over themselves until they discover they've moved in together.

Do either try to hide their emotions if upset? Can the other still tell? Absolutely. They do not acknowledge the existence of emotions (maybe anger? Anger is fine) but yes, they can always tell.

Do they have many heated arguments? How do they smooth things over? They have some heated arguments, but a lot of the time everything gets said with the eyes.

Who’s the bigger tease? NATE.

How do their personalities compliment each other? How do they clash? They sometimes have disagreements because their values aren't exactly aligned; Nate is a lot more practical and ruthless than Brad is. In some ways Brad is more of an idealist--Brad pushes Nate to be a better version of himself, someone who doesn't need to compromise his own integrity, and Nate keeps Brad from getting lost in his own head.

Do they always say 'i love you' before leaving? No, but it's implied.

Can they stay up all night just talking? Oh yes, wandering down philosophical rabbit holes.

Who's more likely to pull the other in by the waist and kiss them passionately? Either one, whenever they think it's most likely to surprise the other.

How likely are they to have fur babies? How many and what kind? They strike me as dog people.

How do they feel about PDA? Uncomfortable with it due to Don't Ask Don't Tell, but in certain circumstances they might enjoy shocking their friends and family.

Describe their weekend getaway? They each have a different version, and they try to meet each other's needs. For Brad, it's something adventurous, something that tests his limits, and Nate's game--so a long wilderness hike, foraging for food. For Nate, it's more likely more of a classic vacation

Would they ever go skinny dipping? Yes.

Who’s more likely to carry the other to bed? Brad.

Do they like watching clouds or star gazing? Star-gazing more likely, with Brad pointing out constellations and Nate telling the legends behind them.

I got back to thinking about Player stuff and my contributions to making Players

I love Lemon still, they will still be baby, so nothing will be directed at them and they will still exist even if they're still inspired by Crimson

When it comes to Players, I feel either unhappy over what I made(the deltarune player design) or was inspired by others

Which a part of me doesn't like because I want to be more original with my Players even if I will probably never do anything with them

And I actually think I might use a concept that I talked to Redwolf about for representation of viewers/players/creators

And I will ramble about the concept here but it may end up having something slightly done with it in the future, which I won't give anything away on

People, let me introduce my contribution to the Player concepts; The 4th Wall

The 4th Wall is the player but it's also the viewer and a creator.. But also not. 4th Wall is more of a representation of all of those, it may refer to itself as certain people if compared because they are a representation of those people. They could technically be considered the god of the multiverse but they won't really.. Do anything. Of course they'll take the role of the player when it's time to game(which has no limit, they can play as ANY person, not just the red soul) but other than that they're just there to chill and watch. I can see them getting up to actually talking to anyone in the multiverse if they wanted and getting into wacky adventures.. But not helping, it's not their job to help unless it's specifically a playable game.

Though I could see a neat gag in something, say Underverse, where someone asks "Are you actually going to do anything to help?" And 4th Wall is just like "Uh. Sure!" And proceeds to control their body to make them do or say something that that specific person needed to say or do then be like "Okay, done! Did that help?"(though a fight scene of 4th Wall helping someone fight would be dope)

I view them as being a goofball, pretty dorky, maybe a bit clumsy. Kinda more in tune with Ink. They're not taking themselves seriously and so they come off as not very serious. They would go by literally any gender because they literally are ALL OF THEM. They are a male, they are a female, they're trans, they're non-binary, they're an it, demiboy, demigirl, ect.

I'm currently not sure on their design bc when I think of them I think of that one artist's concept of the anomaly where it's the transparent background shaped as a person.. But I of course don't want to copy that artist even if I absolutely love that concept, so a design will have to be thought up later

But yeah, here's 4th Wall, my second(the Deltarune Player is dead to me) contribution to Player concepts. And unlike my Deltarune Player, I AM keeping this one along with Lemon. Lemon and 4th Wall can be cousins. Why cousins specifically and not siblings? Idfk, it feels right

Oh boy, I have never talked to you before, but I really wanted to tell you that you are someone very creative, with a lot of potential and that I love your ideas sm, but It really makes me sad that you used AI for your last story (yes, I read the post of chubbydwaekki) Bc I feel that writing these types of stories is something really personal, that it requires certain types of thoughts that we only have in a certain mood And I honestly think that using AI makes it lose all the magic

Now I think I need to explain why I made this fic like that, because I think people are missing something about it.

To start, I would like to say that it was my first time using chatgpt for a fic, and there is a context behind this. As @cutiedwaekki already said, it was because we were talking about it and it was making us laugh. So I was like « omg why not test it ? » and at first when this fic idea came into my mind it was only between me and ChatGPT. I gave the plot to the chat and I was looking at what it wrote, and it was fun for me to do it, alone and just like that, nothing more.

But then I was like « omg this fic is kinda cool » so I was like « why not rewrite it and post it after ? » but the fic was not good, because it was just write by the chat ! As you said, ai don't have that kind of mind. so i take some of the parts that I like, and then I rewrite all the other things myself ! as the dialogues, some description and stuff, and as I write it, it was more like a collaboration and not just some : copy/paste for all the fic, that’s not the truth.

The thing to know about THIS fic is that the point of it was the fact it’s written by me AND the chat, I will not use this in the future because it was just the point of THAT fic. Recently I didn’t have time to write or post, but I still have some idea and I was « why not test something for one fic to see what that can make and the conclusion is : ChatGPT is not bad, but it can’t write the fic in the way people (me included) like it. So yeah I had to modify things and that's why I posted it, because I wanted to make it in the way people would like it.

For the people who said that I was stealing the jobs of other artists, I totally understand that point for art, especially with drawings and animations ! Buut for this, I don’t get it, the point of it once again was just to test something ! And that’s all, I have been writing fics since I’m 13 or something, so I know how to write by myself, and the idea came from me and all that happened in the fic came from me too. It’s not the ai who created that, it’s not the ai who described everything not in a bad way without any help. And also, we are talking about kinky fic, we all know why we write that right ? So I think you can enjoy the fic by itself without thinking about chatgpt ! Who once again, didn’t write the fic in this kinky way ! That’s why I’m here 🤗 to make it cool for people to read it and enjoy, i told you at first it was written in my original language in a bad way so of course I had to make it for people !

I understand that it can really be interesting to talk about ai in the future, but trust me try to write a fic with chatgpt and not correct it. It will be bad and not kinky…

I love to write fics and I will continue to do that in the future because I like it, and I have been writing this kind of fic for a year now and I will not stop, and I will not use chatgpt because that’s NOT the goal of my fic. If I take an example when I write « Maknae on Top » that was the original idea of @cutiedwaekki and I made it for her. So what does this mean ? Does that mean she used someone to write a fic ? When people make a request and we write it, does that mean we’re stealing the job for the person who has the original idea ? I don’t think so ! I know it’s not the same but i think it’s a good point to illustrate what can be the point of the fic and why we write it.

So ! This fic was an attempt to create something fun, new and cool. But people didn’t like it, because everyone is thinking that this will DESTROY the kinky authors and fics, but that's not the truth. Once again, it was just to test, and have fun for me and for you. Nothing more. I sincerely hope that everyone will understand now that I talk about it. I hope this message is clear and that you will understand why this fic exists.

I really hope you understand now, we can still talk about it. I’m really sorry that people didn’t like it, and in the end, I’m sad too. Because I’m taking time for my fic, even this one, I take more time on this one that some others you know…so yeah I was a bit disappointed to have reaction like that, because I was just a test, but the fic still come from me in the end. Maximum Ride versus Spontaneous Power Ups

Part 1

I'm not saying that giving the bird kids power ups isn't fun and funky. But I am definitely not the first person to point out that they're not the best executed, and often take more away from the plot than they add. And someone asked me to state my opinions about one (1) contrived power-up, so now you get to hear about all of them.

Speaking from a general perspective, I have some major problems with Maximum Ride superpowers, and they're as-follows:

They just HAPPEN. There's no trigger, there's no effort on the flock's part to "unlock" them, and there's no explanation given.

They're often these one-off powers that don't maintain narrative significance or further explanations.

Most of the time, they have absolutely no drawbacks.

Yes, I know this is copy-pasted from part 1, what about it?

So this is what I would do to try to solve some of those issues without changing the plot too much. And because I'm nice, I'm sticking it under a read-more.

Pre-Book 1

In the beginning of book 1, Max states that a lot of the flock has "little quirks" like Angel's telepathy, and then the text makes it clear that this is only true of Angel and Gazzy. That means it's completely acceptable to shove a few more powers into pre-series, with the implication that the School caused this before they escaped.

Angel's telepathy, obviously: I've extensively talked about my thoughts surrounding Angel's telepathy, but to rehash, there are plenty of advantages and drawbacks to anything concerning the brain. Telepathy is a boon, but it shouldn't be a pleasant boon. And while this power can definitely grow throughout the series, I think it should stick to telepathy, and not extend towards clairvoyance/precognition like it did in later books.

Gazzy's mimickry: I think this doesn't even need to count as a power, because Lyrebirds can already do that. As Angel grows more powerful, his mimickry can further extend from bird calls to specific human voices to the sounds of objects, and have him learn how to throw his voice.

Nudge's Psychometry: similar to Angel's telepathy, this is a psionic ability, and putting it in pre-series instead of when they miraculously need it makes it feel built-into the narrative. This can also be slowly expanded upon throughout the series, from touching an object and knowing any emotions associated with it, to being able to recall certain moments attached to the object, so being able to touch something and know its entire history.

Gazzy's precognition: "Wait, Gazzy doesn't have precognition", you're totally right, but consider: Precognition is already a thing in the books, because Angel. Gazzy only has two power-ups and one of them is farts. By transferring precognition from Angel to Gazzy and making it start pre-series, there's a bit more of a balance to keep us from getting an OP six-year-old. Like Nudge and Angel, this can start small (having "bad feelings" and being really good at dodging attacks bc he sees them pre-emptively) and build up to something like knowing when someone dies or the exact date and time the world is supposed to end.

Max's, Fang's, and Iggy's ability to withstand the younger three's powers: I think that they should be essentially immune to their younger siblings not because of their own powers, but because of exposure. The younger kids can definitely glean some things, especially when their powers are weak, but the more invasive their powers become, the more immune the older kids get. IE: Angel can read their emotions and sometimes their minds, but she can't control them. Nudge can pick something up and know it's associated with one of them/important to them, but can't tell what they did with it. Gazzy knows if something bad is going to happen, but looking for anything specific or intentional feels like trying to see past a brick wall.

So all of the psionics are at the beginning. And furthermore, there's a clear divide that shows when the School started handling psionic powers. Max, Fang, and Iggy don't have powers. They're old models. But somewhere between Iggy and Nudge, the School had a breakthrough, and the new models have brain powers.

Once the Plot Starts

The next round of powerups makes most sense if it happens as a result of the School's experimentation in TAE-- have the flock NOT be threatened with murder, and instead have tests run on them until they break out, which can take a lot longer. This means that Iggy and Gazzy are excluded, because they were not in the School. But after they escape the School, some abilities can begin to crop up, like:

Max's super speed: originally put in SoF and developed after a slight fever, it could also easily fit into TAE, with Max breaking out of the School while heavily feverish and developing fast flight, specifically regarding dives— similarly to Gazzy's mimickry, this can be staged as less of a power and more of something that happened to her because of her bird DNA that the whitecoats were activation/fine-tuning at the School. The ridiculousness of 350 mph can only occur during dives, though.

Everyone except for Iggy and Gazzy breathing underwater: I didn't realize until I read the wikipedia page that everyone except Iggy and Gazzy canonically has this power, making it a PERFECT power-up to give them after being kidnapped when Iggy and Gazzy were conveniently NOT kidnapped. That being said, this is also a great power to give drawbacks to show that the Flock is not immune to experiments going wrong: FIrstly, they can only breathe underwater in fresh water, like lungfish; they suddenly have to drink a lot more water and easily get dehydrated; they are really suseptible to bronchitis and pneumonia because they're taking water into their lungs that were not originally designed to do that, so they try to do it as little as possible.

And from there, we have...

The Voice

Fuck this thing in particular. There are TWO directions Voice can take in my mind:

It doesn't exist. Full-stop get rid of it, because all it does is take away character agency and give Max answers instead of make the authors think about how Max can figure it out herself.

It's an instrument of the School, preferably controlled by Jeb Batchelder (if it wants to be wishy washy about whose side its on) OR Marian Janssen (if it's an outright antagonist). It disappears once the School is dealt with, and most importantly, is not her own power or a power of her flock. It is a power being used on her.

I've already wasted too much of my life on thinking about this. Since I've already covered gills and psychometry, let's skip over the NYC arc.

After the IFHL

From here, I think there are a few moments where some powers can be gained, and some should definitely not be gained.

Firstly, there's Fang's superspeed. This can develop like it did in canon, where Max donates blood, and Fang gets a fraction of her abilities. However, this isn't even a School-done power, so I think they should reject the blood at first. They get really sick, the doctors have to put them on heavy immuno-suppressants for pretty much the entirety of being at Anne's, and their body temperature permanently jumps up past where it should be.

Then they leave Anne's house, they go on the run, Max gets kidnapped and shoved in a sensory deprivation tank, and she absolutely does not to get to shut down her organs, because it never comes up again and never needs to. Her being able to smell the flock and track them down can have one of two solutions:

She doesn't. She tracks them down another way.

Instead of her hallucinating herself turning into an Eraser, Gazzy has been feeling increasing unease about Max being in proximity to Erasers and can't tell why bc he can't see Max's future. Then, when she escapes the tank in ITEX, she does so by biting an Eraser and swallowing quite a bit of blood and sinew on accident. Suddenly she can smell so many things and her teeth are much sharper than they were a few days ago. Congrats, Max! Power up!

Finally, they reach the School again/are kidnapped again, which is where I guess Angel could possibly unlock shapeshifting, but considering the School was talking about exterminating all of them, I'm thinking no. I think shapeshifting is also on the cutting room floor. However, I think the School definitely should have taken them all out for testing over a few days rather than skipping right to "kill the multi-million dollar investments that are supposed to save the world, bc why not?" (Seriously, who wrote this?), because—

Iggy's Powerups

I've talked about this before, I'll talk about it again, but Iggy's powerups were not brought on by the School, were not spotaneous, were not accidental power transfers, but were intentionally done by Iggy, who was gathering data and running tests throughout the entire series. He doesn't get enough data until he's kidnapped by the School again, at which point Max and Fang probably realize that he's getting a bit sickly and his eyes look permanently irritated, then that there are bruises on his arm he doesn't want to talk about. Then, after breaking into ITEX again and gathering proper resources, he gets:

Detecting light and movement against bright backgrounds, which was his intention.

Color sense, which was an accidental side effect, and not a pleasant sensation for him. Also comes with a disadvantage of not remembering what many colors look like, so he has to guess for a lot of them.

Decreased Oxygen Intake: "wait, he didn't get this in canon!" yeah, because the only power-up JP gave him was pseudo-sight to fix his blindness, so I'm giving him more. Turned out, what he was honing in on was making his eyes function despite them not getting enough oxygen. And he was doing that for his whole body, completely on accident. So his Blood Oxygen percentage can drop to 60 without any ill-effects, his resting heart rate is slowed to about 10 bpm, and he's taking about 1 breath every 10-15 minutes unless he needs air to talk. This takes place over weeks, so he doesn't actually notice it until someone points it out.

This comes with not-so-great side effects. He's cold all the time, his eyes hurt constantly and have permanently burst blood vessels, and his fingers and lips are permanently discolored.

Through the Late Series

After ITEX is taken down, I think the power-getting would decrease exponentially, because they're not being experimented on nearly as much. However, there are a few that I think could be fit in.

Nudge's "Magnetism": I put this in bold and parentheses, because it wouldn't be magnetism, it would be a honing of her psychometry; if an object has a strong enough emotional attachment to her or any of the other psionic kids, she can attract it. Minor telekenesis. As a treat. This is the closest thing I can justify.

Fang's Camoflauge: This was pure accident, and less of a power-up and more of a "came back wrong". Triggered by their death and revival, both of which were unnatural, Fang gets the voluntary organ shutdown that Max doesn't get, and has spaces of time where they don't need to breathe, blink, and their heart slows considerably, meaning that they can be perfectly still in a way that makes people look at them and think "object" instead of "person", and their vision just... glances over them. However, this is not something they can do intentionally. This is almost always when they're dissociating.

Fang's Immortality Genes: I guess that since it's integral to the plot of Nevermore, I can make it work. This was building from School's Out Forever, when they nearly died from Ari's attack, being killed in Fang, nearly getting blown up in Angel, and getting thrown off a cliff in Nevermore. In fact, I would go as far as having their expiration date show up and then pass. By then, it's discovered that they have the "secret to immortality". This does not actually protect them from dying. It protects their genes from unravelling over time, which means they're not ageing. This is not a power-up. This is not a successful experiment. This is the scifi equivalent of being undead, because Fang is pretty much a walking corpse by the end of the series.

Powers Left on the Cutting Room Floor

Angel's Shapeshifting: I barely like shapeshifting Erasers, and it occurs so late in the series that it's not needed.

Gazzy's Flatulence Bombs: Just let him do chemical warfare the old fashioned way I'm begging you.

Max's voluntary organ shutdown: IT ONLY HAPPENS ONCE. I promise you, Max could've thought her way out of that situation.

would she trust your muse to look after her children? so she would trust him in terms of keeping them alive but she's seen the inside of his fridge and she just decides that somehow the task of babysitting the kids is smth that needs sherlock to be with john. that said, the kids are all super excited to have sherlock looking after them!!! it's just that aisling worries that it's not something sherlock would appreciate!

would she name a dish in the diner after your muse? she would! (i'm so sorry, the best one i've come up with in the years of our friendship is the sher-lox holmes bagel--)

would she specifically introduce your muse to stanley and richard? she absolutely would, and stanley immediately decides that he's gonna have to find ways of sneakily adopting him bc "hey now u can't be going into your little mind castle without a good meal" and richard's just relieved to find someone to help him with his lifelong goal of solving the NYT crossword puzzle.

I had queen alphys ending brainrot and spent the last one week or so overthinking her outfit as monarch.

ANYWAY here's Alphys design as a queen! I started with the sprite so it would follow something plausible in game and not just something random. Also a sans leak bc im doing him soon

One thing that always bothered me a little is, that when designing queen Alphys most people would go for copying Asgore or Toriel clothes. I understand the logic, "if alphys is the monarch she will have the last monarchs (asgore) clothes" or "if alphys is the queen she will have the last queens (toriel) clothes" as if what they used to wear was mandatory or some code for monster royalty, maybe. But I like to think there's certain things that are tradition (like the color or the deltarune symbol) but Alphys would have her OWN clothes as queen. A little because symbolism. That's what inspired me to create this.

After cut my explanation of all the details I couldn't put in the images itself! WARNING ITS LONG AF

I knew when I started that I wanted to convey who Alphys is in this ending in specific, while keeping characteristics seen both in Asgore and Toriel clothing.

The first thing is that I didn't gave her an armor or crown. I can see Undyne in her ending copying Asgore more and using both of those, since he was like a father figure and she wants to continue his legacy and fight to free monsterkind. Alphys, I believe, would be the opposite. Although she really liked the big guy, we need to reconize that the underground is in SHAMBLES in this ending. It almost a no mercy route. Alphys understands Asgore actions didn't work, and the hope was taken from monsters once again. It was fighting that brought the underground down, killing more humans was not an option anymore. She can't combat violence with violence. That's why the royal guard is dismissed (not that there was any left). I like to headcanon that when she first became queen she couldn't use the crown because she thought it was too much for her become the next "Asgore" and keep his plan (collecting souls from the ones who fall), but she eventually understands she can do things her OWN way.

Likewise, this is also why I didn't keep the cape but gave her a jacket. Capes are used by great kings and super-heros, there's some connection to being "bigger", "stronger" and "heroic" to capes. I can't imagine Alphys seeing herself as some "queen who will save everyone". Again, she takes some time to realize that, but she knows she is just a normal monster, like everyone else, HOWEVER everyone lost friends, family, and hope, and they can't act alone. They need a leader, someone to guide them and give them strength again. YES, she is making decisions, but she is not just "saving" everyone out of nowhere. She is making the plans (WITH HELPPP) so the monsterkind can keep their heads UP. So the long ass jacket is to vaguely remember a cape, but it is Just a Normal Jacket in the end, and it is just this long because Alphys is stills Alphys and she likes to wears baggy clothes that sometimes are kind of "whatever".

The deltarune symbol is still there since I think is just some tradition between the monsterkinds monarchs (same with the shade of purple). It is something culturally and historically important to monsters and Alphys can't just get rid of it. Maybe the meaning of it would change a little, more than what was already changed, since the idea of "savior" or "destroyer" would be kind of lost between monsters. Like, the destroyer has already been to the underground they have to move on, and maybe there'll be no Angel to save them, yknow?

Last I wanna talk about is that my girl IS STRESSEDDD. Is not easy to take leadership in a situation so hopeless like this ESPECIALLY when you were used to hide away, while just... being alone. Her friends, who supported her so much and she loved... they are gone. Asgore is gone. Mettaton is gone. Undyne is GONE....

At least she has Sans tho (THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS AND ALSO WHERE ARE MY QUEEN ALPHYS ENDING SALPHYS TRUTHERS AT????)

Anyway, just to end this already, the summary of what I think are the changes Alphys (with sans) is making:

Making the underground feel more comfortable, tbh. IF there's no hope of escaping, they at least need to learn how to LIVE. and not just "live to see if they can get out one day" NO!! they will create their lives under there, EVEN IF they ave no hope and they lost so many loved ones. They have a lot more focus on making the underground safe also, with lots of new constructions and events sometimes, and the hole from where the humans fell down is monitored 24/7. If someone falls monsters follow the direction of not interacting with it and not start fighting at any circunstancies. The queen, king, and their assistence (it's napstablook, i am a sucker for them and i have Thoughts™) will take care of this.

so lemme start with the aspects:

from the start i knew dazai had to be void. i think the emptiness that doesn't leave him is a defining thing abt him, and i think his current self would be happy to utilize it to help, somehow, if he could. void is also about secrets and hidden information, mystery and uncertainty, which dazai is quite full of, I'd say, both inside and out. he seems to be comfortable in that element tbh

chuuya's aspect was smth i considered for a bit; the other options i thought of were rage (bc that's quite literally how arahabaki works, chaos and destruction) or time, an aspect that means you're gonna witness a looooot of death and lose most people close to you. which. well. *motions towards sb*

however!!!! i went with blood, bc it's all about bonds, unity, pacts, and i think this is a big defining thing about chuuya - his loyalty, and his need for bonds and friendship. i think going by his personality and motivations is better than going by his powers (bc that's kinda boring) or backstory (bc that's soooo sad)

now, onto classes:

this time let's start with chuuya bc we're on a roll.

"A Heir is one who Changes/Manipulates their Aspect and through their Aspect. Also, may become their Aspect."

an heir of blood doesn't directly manipulate the people they have a bond with, rather inspiring them and leading them (which, as we've seen during cannibalism, chuuya can definitely do. also he wouldn't become an executive with people in his charge if he couldn't do this lol). in turn, they will become stronger from their bonds and feel more secure when they have people to rely on, which, given how chuuya stayed with the mafia all this time, i think it's safe to say that's the case with him hehe.

ok now it's dazai time

to put it simply. a seer sees the future lol (or rather, will invite knowledge, to put it more fancily). but it's through their aspect, somehow - for example, in the original comic, rose sees the best course of action to take (as her aspect is all about luck), and terezi sees all possible outcomes to a situation (and her aspect is about thoughts and decisions)

so, a seer of void will have knowledge of secrets and mysteries, and things others may not be aware of or want to bring to light. i think this is perfect for dazai tbh, and how he gets info in shady ways or figures things out due to his dark past

unlike other seers, a seer of void would do better with not knowing all the details, which, given how s5e11 went, it seems dazai is relatively comfortable with in his current state.

at the same time, a seer of void will not be satisfied with what they're told is the truth, and may be distrustful and try to figure out what's really going on (see: dazai's suspicion of ango during the dark era). in addition, they will have their own view of the world which. not to get into analysis through nlh and comparisons to yozo. BUT- *i get pulled off the stage by a large hooked cane*

also lemme copy a thing from a post i found and used as reference rn. "If the Seer of Void is not careful, they could become cynical and pessimistic - apathetic and dismissive." hmmm reminds me of the younger self of a certain someone (tbh this one's true abt all void players lol). also "They wouldn’t allow themself to remain under the oppressive boot of a leader, especially a leader who thinks they know what is best for the Seer of Void" HMMM REMINDS ME OF THE CONCLUSION TO A CERTAIN BACKSTORY LIGHT NOVEL

so, a seer of void will be the planner. obviously. they will notice if something is Off about the situation, and figure out a way to get out of it if needed. they won't have a problem relying on their teammate(s), and these are great news when their teammate is an heir of blood who will bring out the best of that bond between them! heirs are particularly powerful, so being backed by a good planner who will cover their blind spots will make them a powerful duo 😌

Seb has this idea that he has to protect Charles, because he's older and he's been there and its not that he thinks Charles is weaker then him, he just feels like he couldve done more, been clearer with Charles when he was still racing. But Charles is the one that never tells Seb if someone is unkind about Seb, or about speculations (i have an idea in my head for a verse and im incorporating it here), or about things he knows will hurt Seb, even if theyre not personally tied to him. Also, he lets Seb take care of him bcs it makes Seb happy :)

14. I think their main issue is Charles' unreliability and Seb's impatience. I think theyre pretty similar in their priorities at first glance, but Charles is now where Seb was 10 years ago. He thinks he wants a family, but he's not really awarw of what that means, and I think he's very idealistic in certain ways. Seb is more jaded, and has had to come to terms with certain harsh truths, and he's trying not to be like, bitter, or clip Charles' wings. They are boths speed addicts, adrenaline addicts, and singular when theyre focused - and theyre usually focused on each other :)

54. Seb plays the old and frail and retired card when he doesn't feel like going to bed and wants Charles to carry him there. He almost dislocated his hip once when he tried to carry Charles while they were in a compromising situation (fucking against a wall), and Charles never lets him forget it, but also, he loves demonstrating how strong he is, tho he will never admit it :)

Riddle would act cold to him. Yes, indeed, and then he'd go past the point of no return and Azul would expose his little strategy. After all, why else would Riddle act so cold, when Azul hadn't done anything wrong? It was a perfect plan. Riddle was ignoring him already. Azul just needed to initiate the conversation, gather evidence of Riddle's deliberate coldness, and-

He doesn't think Azul's that bad, there are parts of the man worthy of admiration, but this aspect of things is just one he can't stand (YET riddle im sorry bbg you're not immune this practically nonexistent burn does still barely exist and it's coming for you... at a snail's crawl)

But Azul takes it to mean Riddle can't stand *him* in general and now he's grumpy and Jade has to deal with it... poor Jade can't believe I'm torturing him like this smh my head
