contains : princess / fem!reader, head knight!gojo, implied secret relationship. this is just... angst i guess with a sprinkle of fluff... overprotective gojo *moans* this is about 1k of brainrot word vomit hhhhhhhhhhhhh :D not proofread cause i'm lazy, pls ignore any mistakes!
time moved by far too slow for satoru. for someone whose day passed in a blink of an eye with all of his responsibilities, today was far too slow. it felt like watching paint dry. it felt like a snail moving across the pavement. it felt like a century had passed before the bright light of the sun finally started to set. dusk slowly turning into night, and as the moon took its place in the night sky, was he able to escape from his duties and finally able to walk to your bedroom, hands held in tight fists by his sides.
"you two may leave. the king wants me to be stationed here for tonight." a lie. but the two guards didn't know any better. why would they ever think their head knight would ever lie to them in the first place.
what they don't know, won't hurt them, was what gojo told himself, watching the two salute him and proceeding to walk down the corridor far away from your bedroom. he waited till they were out of sight first and then listened out for the clunking noises the armour made as they walked down the stairs. when it was finally silent, he opened your door, shutting it behind him quickly.
you almost let out a scream at the sudden intrusion into your space. fear from the attack on your life only a night prior still too fresh in your mind. but the white mop of hair on top of the males head had you sighing in relief, aware that it was not an intruder but in fact satoru. but that relief didn't stay for too long. you were well aware that the king would have placed guards outside your door to keep you safe after what had happened and you could not afford to let your relationship with satoru be revealed just yet.
"satoru, what are you doing here? my father–" your worried whisper was cut short rather abruptly.
"fuck your father." if satoru was in a better mindset than he is now, he never would have spoken of the king, your father, in such a way and he's never been more glad there were no guards standing post outside your bedroom to judge his vulgar use of words towards the monarch either.
"are you hurt? did they touch you?" immediately, he's bombarding you with questions, eyebrows furrowed deeply as his eyes start to dart over your body. inspecting you. "would you let me have a look at you. please?"
you nod slightly, but turn your head to the right side a little, fearing what he'll do when he sees it.
his takes large but quiet strides towards you, hands that shook with fear now reaching out to hold your wrists. he inspects your skin, slowly, letting his hands and eyes travel across your skin, and it all seems fine until he brushes the strands of hair out of your face and finally notices the freshly dried blood on your cheek. it looked deep. no, it was deep. gojo was no stranger to cuts and bruises, even with a simple glance he could tell it was deep. it would leave a scar behind and it would take time to heal.
"i..." he inhales shakily, trying to keep his voice low as he could. an attempt to keep himself calm, to keep himself from lashing out. "i-i should have been there."
"satoru..." you began, only to be cut off again.
"i should have fucking been there." remorse. that's all satoru could feel. remorse for not being by your side like he had promised many moons earlier as you two hid from the maids attempting to prepare you for bed. remorse for not being by your side to keep you from harm. but hidden in that remorse, was also anger. anger that anyone even dared to touch a princess – not just any princess. his princess. the very princess that would become his queen in the future. the very princess that should have everyone in the land bowing to her. the princess he loves and swore to keep out of harms way.
"i should have fucking protected you. shit– i should have been there. i should have been protecting you like i said i would... i'm sor–"
"toru. i'm okay. please look at me." you place a gentle had over his chest, albeit over his armour, you swear you're able to feel how furiously his heart is beating. it doesn't take a genius to see all the emotions swimming in his eyes.
worry. hurt. pain. regret.
"satoru - the strongest knight in the kingdom... my favourite knight - gojo. i am okay. i promise you." the praise earns a brief smile from him before it fades, his thumb brushing the deep cut on your cheek ever so gently but it makes you inhale sharply anyway. it causes gojo to flinch, withdrawing his warm hands immediately but you reach out for his wrist with both hands desperately. "n-no! it... it jus' hurts because it's fresh... please, i just– i just need to feel you, toru. please, don't be afraid to touch me."
it was all gojo needed to hear from you. all he needed was your permission to touch you and he does. he cups your face in his hands, watching as the tension and stress leaves your body, jaw loosening and eyebrows relaxing. he watches as your eyes close for a few seconds before fluttering open. you place a kiss against the palm of his hand. "will you please stay the night with me? i'm... afraid they will come back." gojo watches you tense up at the mention of the men who tried to hurt you last night. his response is immediate.
"of course i will." his thumb finds its way to the wrinkles in the middle of your eyebrows, rubbing the spot a little. "do not frown so much. you will start looking older than you are, princess."
his teasing earns a smile from you, and he's glad when he sees you soften in his hold. the both of you stay silent for a while, finding comfort in the silence and each other. you've always felt safe with satoru, and tonight is no different.
"princess," he begins, pulling you in by your waist ever so slightly, your body pressed up against his armour. "i swear on my life, i will kill any bastard who dares lay so much as a finger on you again. i promise you. i'll execute them myself." you do not bother replying to him, instead sealing the promise he's made by standing on your tippy toes to press your lips against his.
#was supposed to be inspired by that one scene from the glory (iykyk) but it didn't go the way i wanted to this happened instead lmaooo#gojo x reader#gojo satoru x reader#gojo fluff#gojo angst#jjk x reader#jjk angst#jjk fluff#jujutsu kaisen x reader#if this is shit please don't come @ me i've never written straight up fluff / angst before and i'm so nervous abt posting this weeeeeee#going into hiding now#i need to fix my tags but i am far too lazy so sorry about that

It had been a few weeks since Ward and Stella had been on the Druthers together. He had been busy his family and work. Ward could feel the pressure to connect with Stella, and his heart ached to be with her and his phone was ringing much more often.
"I need to talk to you." Her voice was sharp behind him at the country club as he stood at the bar with a few colleagues. He stood rigid, his glass tight in his hand. She never made her way to that end of the island unless invited.
And Ward did not invite her.
"What are you doing here?" He asked as he cleared his throat as he turned around to see Stella.
She was so out of place in a short yellow sundress, and a denim jacket. Her arms crossed over her breasts which looked fuller than usual. He was practically salivating for her.
"Reservation." She snapped.
"Let's go over here. Excuse me a moment, won't you?" Ward held up a finger to his colleagues before he placed his hand on Stella's back and led her to a vacant hallway near the bar.
"You haven't been answering my calls." Stella stated firmly once they were alone.
"I know, and I'm sorry. Listen, we can plan a date. Go out on the boat again. We can go out to Charleston or something for the day. Whatever you like. I have to get back out there, honey. I'll try to call you tonight." Ward sighed as he smoothed over his beard.
"I'm pregnant, Ward." Stella blurted out, her hands running through her hair.
"Pregnant?" Ward asked under his breath, his eyes wide at the younger woman in front of him.
"Yeah. The one time, well two times you didn't wear a condom. All it took." Stella sighed as she looked down at her feet.
"I can't deal with this right now. I have a business lunch. Go home, and I'll come see you later. Don't go anywhere." Ward grumbled before he fixed the button of his suit, then walked back towards his colleagues.
Later that night, after 9pm, Ward pulled up at Stella's house and went inside without knocking. He poured himself a drink, then began to pace the small living as he thought.
"Jesus, Ward. You scared me." Stella gasped as she walked out of her bedroom in just a silk robe.
"How far along are you?" Ward asked as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Like three weeks, almost a month." She replied as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"And it's mine?" He asked, without even thinking, and his heart sank. He knew he had crossed a line. There was no chance it would be any man's baby on this Earth, but his.
Her hand connected with his face swiftly. Ward exhaled slowly through his nostrils, then brought his glass to his slips after she laid the harsh slap to his face. He deserved that.
"How dare you." Stella glared then jabbed a finger to his strong chest.
Ward finished off his drink in a quick swallow. He gently placed his glass on the table next to him then took hold of her face in his hand to make her look at him.
"I have to protect my stock, Stella." Ward replied firmly, but his eyes were gentle.
"No man has been inside of me, except for you, in over seven months, Ward." Stella glared, her jaw set, but her nipples hard.
Ward brought her face to his and kissed her firmly, he let go of her face to press his hand to her lower back and pull her against him. She whined against his mouth her hands gripping at the collar of his shirt as she licked inside mouth.
"Slow down." Ward chuckled, forcing her tongue out of his mouth. He untied her silk robe and admired her fuller breasts.
"No. You speed up." Stella whined as she reached for his belt buckle, kissing the corners of his mouth.
"Come here." Ward grunted as he grabbed her thighs, lifted her up and carried her to the desk on the corner of the room. He stood between her legs and pushed the silk robe around the small of her back, exposing her completely to him.
"Ward, please." Stella pressed her thighs to his hips to keep him close to her while her chest stuttered with her heavy breath.
"Look at you." Ward growled as he ran his fingers through her soaked folds. His heart jumped into his throat when she writhed beneath him at his soft, teasing touch.
"I can't stand this! It's been a month since you've been this close to me, and your baby is making me feral. Take your clothes off, Ward." Stella demanded with a glare as she grabbed the back of his neck and pulled herself against him.
Ward grunted against her lips as she kissed him firmly, rubbing herself against him over his slacks. He reached for her breasts and rolled her sensitive nipples making her gasp, his tongue slipping into her mouth.
"I'll take care of you." Ward growled as he pulled his hands from her breasts and placed them on her lower back.
"Right now, I just want you to fuck me." She panted as she unzipped his pants and pulled him out, giving his manhood a few pumps.
Ward moaned out loud, his head tossed back. He didn't remember either of his wives being like this while pregnant. He remembered a lot of foot rubs, and runs to the supermarket for strange snacks.
"I meant you and the baby, Stella. I'll take care of you." Ward breathed as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her hand off of him. He brought her knuckles to his lips, kissing them one by one while he caught his breath.
"I know you will, Ward. It's not about the money. I just want you in our lives." Stella replied, slowing down finally as he kissed the palm of her hand.
"I will be." Ward nodded, his eyes the brightest blue she had ever seen, looking at her sincerity. At least what she believed was sincerity.
"Ward, I'm still really, really horny. And you look really good in this shirt." Stella whispered as she pulled at the buttons of his blue plaid button up, her legs locked around his waist.
"You like it?" Ward smiled as he released her hand to place it back on her thigh.
"It makes your eyes even more blue." She whimpered as she pressed her fingertips to his chin, scratching at his beard.
"Thank you, honey." Ward replied softly as he let her scratch at his beard, loving her affection.
"I love you, Ward." Stella sighed as she wrapped her arms around his neck, her ankles hooked behind him.
"I love you, too."
*
Ward came home from Stella's late - too late. After midnight. Tannyhill had a dead quiet about it that was almost eerie. He shut the door behind him and locked the deadbolt as quietly as he could. He breathed a quiet sigh, ran a hand over his face and made his way to his office to try and tire himself out with work.
He closed the heavy door to his office over and slowly made his way to his plush chair. He sat down, extended his legs and rubbed his face with both hands.
This would be his fourth child.
"Shit." Ward mumbled into the palms of his hands as he pulled his hands down his face.
"Dad?"
He hadn't even heard her feet on the hardwood floors, or the creak of the door as she poked her sweet face in. But as he pulled his head out of his hands and looked at the heavy door, there stood his youngest.
"Wheezie, hi. What are you doing up? It's after midnight, sweetheart." Ward whispered with a soft wave of his hand, beckoning his daughter into his office.
"I couldn't sleep, and I heard the door open. I don't want to go to that stupid lunch with mom tomorrow." Wheezie replied as she picked at the papers on the edge of his desk. folding the edges.
"I think you'll have more fun than you think." Ward smiled softly, resting his cheek on one hand.
"Outer Banks Ladies Who Lunch..Dad, all ladies lunch. People need lunch. Food is of vital importance." Wheezie replied with a roll of her eyes as she flopped into the chair across from him, her posture slouched.
"Well, sweetheart. You have my permission to play on your phone when it gets incredibly dull." Ward chuckled as he ran the tips of his fingers over his chin.
Wheezie pursed her lips and nodded, picking at her cuticles. Ward watched her, the stubbornness of being born a Cameron radiating off of her. She was waiting to be given another option for her day tomorrow, but he wasn't going to give it to her.
"C'mon, sweetheart. Give me a hug and get upstairs to bed. It's very late." Ward spoke softly as he leaned back in his chair and opened his arms for a hug.
Wheezie sighed and pushed herself up from the chair and walked over to her father, wrapping her arms around his shoulders for a lazy hug. Ward pressed his hands between her shoulder blades and closed his eyes. Savouring the brief moment that it was just him, and his third child.
"Goodnight, sweetheart." Ward smiled as he pushed some of her long, beautiful hair from her face. She looked so much like his mother it still amazed him.
"Night." Wheezie mumbled as she turned and slowly made her way towards the door.
Ward let out a soft sigh as he opened up his laptop and pulled up a search engine. As he began to type, he looked up as he heard Wheezie call for him.
"Yeah, sweetheart?" He looked at her stood in the doorway, ready to close the door upon her exit.
"Who's Stella?"

Personal Trainer
Summary: being a photographer for nearly every volleyball team in Japan had it's perks, and your roommate likes to abuse those perks.
warnings: none? I mean there's swearing
genre: fluff
word count: 1.3k
a/n: day 2 of writing every day until my birthday. this was something I wrote quick after work.
You were sitting at your desk editing some photos you took for an online sports article. You were a freelance photographer for various volleyball teams. You mostly took photos for their social media accounts and any special events they attended. You were nearly done fixing the lighting in a photo when your roommate and best friend Hana entered your room.
“Gather your things, change into different clothes and get ready to leave, we’re going to the gym to workout.” She proudly stated while going through your closet attempting to find some clothes you could possibly wear to the gym. You raised your eyebrows, not looking up from your computer, “I’m sorry but I’ve known you for several years now and not once have you or me attempted to work out. We’re lazy which is why I take pictures of sports and not play them.” She made a noise of triumph after finding some decent workout clothes and sat on your bed next to your desk, “Yeah but this is different.” You sighed running your fingers through your hair, “Hana how is this any different.” You saved the photo to your finished folder and closed the app you were using before looking at Hana with a deadpan look. “I figured out that the gym near us is where the Olympic volleyball team is training?” She gave you a sheepish look as she messed with her hands.
“Hana I swear to whatever Deity, God, or Goddess is out there I am not stalking athletes that I regularly work with and take photos of.” You sternly stated as you got up to stretch. “That’s my point! You work with them and not once have you ever introduced me to any hot volleyball players! I needed to take matters into my own hands!” She said as she followed you to the kitchen, “Besides we’re getting old, we need to work on our health.” You laughed loudly at that statement, “Dude we are 25 and perfectly healthy, you just wanna ogle at the hot athletes. We probably can’t even get into the gym if they’re there. They most likely reserved the whole place.”
“Yeah uh I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that. Here’s the thing, it's actually really funny when you think about it, I bet we’ll laugh years from now.” She looked away and you narrowed your eyes in suspicion, “What did you do?” She thought for a moment still refusing to make eye contact, “So when I figured out that they were at the gym by us I went and purchased to gym memberships, but then the lady told me after I bought them mind you, couldn’t even give me the courtesy of letting me know beforehand, that yes, they reserved the whole gym.” You nodded, “Just like I thought they probably would.” She hummed in agreement, “Yeah so I uh borrowed your laptop.” You interrupted her saying her name in a warning tone before she continued, “I emailed one of the team members you regularly take photos with, I think it was Bokuto but it might’ve been Atsumu. It was definitely someone on the msby black jackals team. Either way he said it would be a great promo opportunity for both the team and his instagram and invited us...yay!” By the end of her story you were leaning on the counter pinching the bridge of your
nose. “What time did you say we’d be there.”
An hour and a half later you were walking into the gym with your photographer ID and your camera bag, “I hate that you’re taking advantage of my job like this.” You told Hana as the guy working the front of the gym where everyone was located. “Yeah but I don’t feel bad, what if my soulmate was on this team and you were never gonna introduce me to him. Honestly Y/n, the nerve of you to keep me from him.” She said as she practically skipped down the hallway. “This isn’t some storybook where everyone has soulmates, you’re just a hopeless romantic.” You said opening the door to the gym and walking in.
“Y/n! How have you been? Who’s your friend?” Atsumu said as he approached you both. “Hey! This is Hana she’s uh, she’s here just to tag along and admire honestly, so you can ignore her.” As you finished your statement Hana shoved you over as you laughed. “No, ignore them please. I’m a fan, not like a creepy stalker fan, but a fan. They’ve been uh meaning to let me meet you guys but keep forgetting.” As you were talking, a guy with short hair that you've never seen before walked over. “Hey, I’m Y/n this is Hana. I don’t know if we’ve met and I've probably met every volleyball player I possibly could.” You shook his hand as you introduced yourself, “I’m Iwaizumi and you haven’t met me because I’m not a volleyball player. Well I used to be, but now I’m a personal trainer.”
“You could be their personal trainer, they need to workout anyway I’m sure you could-” Before Hana could say anything else you covered her mouth with your hand. “Please forget everything she just said. She’s a little crazy, was dropped on her head as a baby and whatnot. I’m the photographer, I don’t know if they told you.” He nodded and was about to say something when Hana licked your hand and you let out a sound of disgust. You apologized and he laughed, “No worries, yeah they told me about you. It’s nice to meet you and for what it’s worth I don’t think you need a personal trainer but if you ever need the help let me know.”
As he walked away to go help some of the guys who were already starting you turned to Hana smacking her arm, “I’m going to murder you in cold blood and not feel an ounce of remorse.” She put her hands in the air in mock surrender, “Sorry, but come on he’s hot and clearly just hit on you.” You shook your head going to set your camera bag down on the bench to get your camera. “You’re ridiculous he was just defending me after you called me fat and out of shape.” You said grabbing your camera and moving to take some photos. “I did not call you fat or out of shape! I’m just trying to help you date a hot guy!”
You turned around now exasperated at the fact that she shouted that across the room. Everyone paused and turned to either look at you or her and she mouthed sorry at you. You groaned in embarrassment, sure that your face was burning red. You spent the next hour or so taking pictures desperately trying to forget that that happened. The guys were finishing up for the day and Hana was flirting or rather attempting to flirt with Atsumu, you were sitting on the bench looking through the photos you took when you heard someone sit down next to you.
Looking over you saw Iwaizumi and groaned, “Please disregard everything that happened today, you know what, in fact just wipe it from your memory altogether. I was never here, we never met.” He pursed his lips and thought for a second, “Fine okay, we never met. Hi I’m Iwaizumi. I’m the team’s personal trainer and I would love to take you out for lunch sometime and maybe get to know you.” You nearly dropped your camera at the response. “Unless of course you don’t want me to and your friend lied about implying you were single?”
You coughed looking through the photos again far too embarrassed to look him in the eyes, “No she uh wasn’t lying. I would like that, a lot actually.”

Hi! I don't know if this is an annoying/difficult question, sorry if it is, but do you have any advice at all for modelling sims based off real people? Your sims are SO crazy good. When I try to make them they end up looking... eh... Vaguely like the person? But there's a huge gap between that and some kind of 'spark' some simmers seem to manage to capture.
Hello! Definitely not annoying. Difficult, as in how difficult it is to answer? Maybe. I'm gonna go off on a couple of tangents. But I'm gonna try my best to explain the process. Which isn't really much of one sorry.
There's a handful of tutorials and tips out there regarding reference photos and like... proportions and all that so I won't cover that.
I use that as a general guide of course, but mostly I just save some photos of the person at various angles and focus on one feature or two at a time. Literally going back and forth between reference photo and my game. I think if you try to get everything at the same time, it really makes it easy to get frustrated with whatever your sim looks like at the moment. Making sims in general is a combination of a LOT of things depending on your style.
I can point out ALL the flaws with my sims based on real people. In my experience, it’s about getting the defining features of a person close enough to the real thing so that it resembles them. I don't think you need a complete copy to get the point across, however i do think some people and features are harder to emulate than others. I've been working on some sims for YEARS, and they still don't work out lol
and take a look at this progression on my sim based on Z4ne H0ltz starting back in 2015!
that first screenshot:
Personally, I get a little lost if I work on a sim too much all at once. I find some time away makes me less tired and frustrated. Just pace yourself :)
Also if you need any help, shoot me a message here or on discord. I promise I don't judge or anything.. it's sims who cares lol
TO START...
I suggest starting with the head and its shape. Starting off with a game-generated sim, the first slider I get to is head width. It's usually too dang wide for my tastes. And then adjusting the general position of the the features. You can always change things later, so you don't have to know exactly what you're going to do, but as I've mentioned before, sculpting sims up in CAS is just practice with sliders! Also in the long run, you may want to use Pu+Chi House's Smooth Face Normals slider! I attempt to explain and show what it does here. I've uploaded the slider here: https://simfileshare.net/download/984204/
This is gonna be a doozy sorry in advance if the read more doesn't work
SLIDERS SLIDERS SLIDERS
Big sliders like Pu+Chi House’s face shape sliders dramatically change the face shape, and it could save you a lot of time! I highly suggest using these to get rid of the weird large jaw sims can get.
Play with different sliders and how they interact with one another! Example: jaw width and Cheek Fullness affect the same area. if you need a wide jaw and don’t want cheek distortion, you can use cheek fullness, lower the jaw width slider and then edit the cheekbones from there
Knowing what sliders move what and how it can work to your advantage is key! I cover this in my reply post about noses.
For visual reference:
I start out with my nose but I want the nostrils to sit further on the outside
so i go in and use the nose width slider and raise it to widen the lower nose:
Then lower the nostril scale slider
Comparison:
as you can see, i kind of achieved what I wanted, but also widened the nose tip too! Welp, that takes another slider I have, Tip Width. And I'll adjust that accordingly! It's really just a matter of what you're going for and what you're going to have to compensate for as a result!
That said, our community has made some awesome sliders that open up so many possibilities and even eliminate the need to do that multi-slider tango. I wouldn't even know where to begin (wish I wanted to make videos because I could talk for an hour about sliders)
For example @pitheinfinite made sliders that can make sims look better and more realistic, I'm jealous at what they've achieved!
They have their Inner Corner to Nose slider that moves an area of the sim's face hat make eyebags and the shadows and lines appear farther out from the inner eye. It saves you from having to use cheek sliders to mimic the effect and thus ruining the face shape you have going
It's truly an INDISPENSABLE slider. One of many!
Since I make sliders, I usually just make some to specifically fix whatever issue I'm having. Granted they're made with general function in mind, which makes my cheater-y way of making things happen more useful in the future. I have about 50 experimental unfinished sliders in my game and can tell you that all my current sims use them for some reason or other. So I'm not working with nothing, I guess?
EYE SPY 👁
The best way to really get nice accurate looking sims is the eyes.
Pay attention to the slant of the eye, the shape and position of the upper and lower eyelids. you can use the game’s Eyelid Height slider, and AWT’s Eyelid width and height sliders (and many more)
and especially where the iris (green) sits relative to the eyelid. getting that shape and eyeball positioned correctly really makes a HUGE difference
I do suggest Bloom’s Eye slider (left and right) that rotate the eyes left and right. That along with their Lazy eye sliders can give your sims a less symmetric face and position the eyes to be FAR more accurate and realistic than the default.
I also recommend their vertical sliders (Eye lift or drop) to help with eye positioning.
I can't stress the importance of the right contacts or eyes for your sims. Of course it all depends on how you make your sims's eyes and all that. Take the last sim i posted about. It took forever and a half to find the right contacts that didn't need severe or intense editing to capture the same vibe the person he's based on. The problem is pretty persistent for me, and I am just speaking for myself when I say this is necessary. Iris size, shading, recolorability, detail, catch lights, and pupil position are things to consider for your play style and preferences.
In addition to seeing what eyes will do the trick, I do edit the catch lights in the screenshots to give the eyes a different emotion or look. (I use defaults that get rid of the game-generated catch lights, and supernatural eye glow.) It's nice when that's all it is and I don't have to go in and photoshop things in and out to make them look human lmao
Perfect, schmerfect
And just know that as long as you have the same vibe or look going on it doesn't need to be perfect! Things will evolve over time, and you can change and perfect things as you go along, but close is better than trying to achieve an exact replica. We are working with the limitations of sliders and the optimized meshes they work on! So yeah there might be jagged bits or the profile might not exactly match and some things might not be accurate, but that's okay! Considering what sims look like at their default, you should be proud! I use the same mf eyebrows on all my sims basically and I tell myself they're just placeholders (yeah, right), but I manage to make them work with what I have!
Sliders, Makeup, and Skins, oh my!
a good base skin is critical, but not the end of the world if you pick the wrong one. They determine kind of definition and types of features highlighted on a sim 100000% and you might lose a feature you like or dislike when you change them! Feel free to switch up between skins you have to find the best fit.
Makeup can be a game-changer though!!! Any details you can add and help make your sim look the most like the person you're basing them off can go MILES.
In some cases, I've actually gotten really interesting results trying to get my sculpt as close as possible to real life references so the makeup makes a difference but don't define the features by themselves. Still, though, I utilize makeup up a LOT. [remember that if you use Nraas, you can layer makeup. Right-clicking makeup will also remove it if it's applied :)]
Here's the last sim i posted about when removing makeup:
no nosemasks really replicates the face-claim's nose (too shiny at the lower part) but it'll do 🤷♀️
Freckles, eyebags, highlighters, face shadows, pores, nosemasks, etc are all great!!
The way you move your sliders WILL effect how these look, so don't rely on makeup that adds super-specific detail or goes over an area you know is a jumbled mess because of sliders!
I do have a mess of recommendations and wcifs for skins and makeup. replies tag | wcif tag
[also I love compiling wcif cc lists for my sims it's great]
Finally, I appreciate your comment about my sims, mainly because I know they're not ever really exact copies or as close as I want to be to their real life counterparts, so thanks!! I've seen fellow simmers get really good results without messing as much as I do and I love when people can make really good maxis match likenesses because it's just so damn cool! It's truly a talent. I'm not one of those lucky few, but I like to try my way at it anyway. After what feels like some good progress I'll post a pic here. Even after doing this forever I don't feel like I'm an expert or can get good results in a shorter amount of time, but it's just fun to see the progression (or regression) of how my sims look.

A Trip To The Beach - Part 1 (Dante x Fem!Reader)
Summary: Dante's tab is nearly erased. After Patty finds a letter you wrote to Dante years ago, the girl decides to pay you a visit to know why and how things ended between you and Dante. (Part 4 of A Tab To Erase) (Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3)
Tags: Pre DMC3 Dante / Dante is Tony Redgrave / Love / Fluff / Blood and Gore / Minor Character Death / Violence
Author’s note: I've decided to divide "A Trip To The Beach" into two parts because it was way too long. The next part will be the end of this story. Thank you for reading and sorry for keeping you waiting.
MISSION 4
Despite the menacing grey clouds fading the picturesque view before her, there was something adorably charming in the house Patty was looking at that should have made the girl feel rather at ease. And yet, she couldn’t move a muscle. Stress probably. Stress, yes. She thought as she glanced again and again at the letter she was firmly holding in her hands. She repeated the address out loud, checking again for the umpteenth times if she was at the right place and wondering if she should be here. What if Dante learnt about her being here? What if he learnt about her sneaking into his personal stuff? About her stealing this letter in the drawer of his desk? The one Y/N had written him years ago. The questions popped up in her head one by one as quickly as Dante’s devastating bullets and tied her stomach in a knot. She had never been afraid of Dante. Not really. And she wasn’t sure she was afraid of him right now. Maybe she was simply afraid of hurting him.
“This was a silly idea.” She sighed and finally turned around to leave. Maybe if she hurried up she would be able to catch the next train back to Red Grave before the storm and be home early enough to make Dante a strawberry sundae.
The wind suddenly blew hard, so hard it was gusty enough for the pink ribbon in her blond hair to be blown away. Patty gasped and quickly ran after the long piece of silk trying to catch it back. But it somehow landed right in the flowered garden she hadn’t dared step foot in and Patty couldn’t help but see it as a sign of fate. “Can I help you?” A sign of fate she couldn’t ignore now.
Y/N was as pretty as Patty had imagined, maybe even more. And as she kept on observing her, her little turned-up nose purposely plunged in the tea mug so that she would not have to speak (a premiere in her life), she wondered how and why Dante had let her go (She had jumped to this conclusion when she had read the letter she found at Dante’s in which Y/N was asking him to come back to her). “ Would you like another biscuit, Patty?” The blond girl shook her head nervously. “Or a strawberry sundae maybe?” Patty froze and her blue eyes fixed at Y/N in panic. “If you’re friend with Dante I assume you must have them quite often.” There was no bitterness in her voice, just a motherly sweetness tinted with a bit of sadness. “ How?” “ The letter.” She nodded at the envelope sticking out of Patty’s pocket. “How’s Dante?” “ He doesn’t know I am here!” Patty confessed rapidly as if to exonerate Dante of her presence here. “And he doesn’t know about the letter.” “That’s alright. Relax.” Y/N smiled, amused, as she put her mug on the coffee table. “I was just asking. Curiosity.” And care also. “ Oh … Then I guess he’s … Dante.” The young girl finally said after searching for the perfect word to describe her friend. “You know eating pizza and strawberry sundae everyday … and sleeping all day long.” Y/N frowned. That was not the image she had kept from her ex-boyfriend at all. A lazy pizza and sundae lover sure but there was something off in Patty’s description. “Oh and losing at gambling which probably led to why I’m here.” “ What do you mean?” Y/N raised an eyebrow; genuinely curious though amused to know Dante had not improved his gambling skills since the last time they met. “ Let’s say he owed me so much he started selling pieces of his past to pay me back.” The woman laughed. That sounded like Dante for sure. “He started telling me about you because I asked him why he loved strawberry sundaes so much. And then he kept extorting me and used my curiosity at his advantage.” “ How much did he owe you?” “ Six strawberry sundaes. A dozen ice-cream cones. Two dresses and one trip to the beach. He stills owes me a trip to the beach though.” “ Of course he does.” Y/N scoffed as she took a sip of her tea. “ Fortunately I’m a very patient woman.” Patty declared as she started drooling over her homemade raspberry-filled biscuit. “ Well, I guess you have to be when you hang out with somehow like him.” Patty’s eyes darted back at Y/N who was now stirring her tea even though she hadn’t put any sugar or milk in it. A defence mechanism, Patty thought. “ Is that why you two broke up? Because you lost patience?” Patty dared ask even though a part of her had a feeling she shouldn’t. “ No. No. That’s not because of that.” Y/N admitted. “We broke up because Dante couldn’t help being Dante.” “ I always tell him his uncouthness drives women away.” Y/N had a sad smile that Patty immediately noticed. “Sure he lacks manners but that’s not why we ended things. We ended things because … I guessed he cared too much for me.”
A TRIP TO THE BEACH - Part 1
She could remember that day as if it was yesterday, every detail of it. From the moment Dante kissed her good morning to the moment he kissed her goodbye. She could remember his smile, warm and beguiling. She could remember his tears, cold and desperate. She could remember everything about him, everything about her.
She was wearing a red summer dress. Dante’s favourite. He used to say it was because of the colour. “You know how much I love red, baby.” But she knew it was because of the way it hugged her figure so beautifully. He could pretend to be a gentleman but he couldn’t fool her. She could tell he was lying just by the way his hands would grab her curves each time she was near him in that dress.
They had parked the car by the beach. An old red convertible he claimed to be vintage when it was just a piece of junk. If he thought any sort of romance would happen in it, he was clearly wrong.
Don’t tell he already had this awful car! Don’t tell me he still has it!
But Y/N wasn’t sure Dante was in the mood for romance or any sort of distraction. He looked preoccupied, very preoccupied, and she knew him all to well to know that this anxiety – or whatever Dante was feeling right now – was nothing good. After all, one could use many adjectives to describe Dante but anxious and preoccupied, no. He was too carefree and devil-may-care for this.
“Something’s wrong.” Y/N said as she looked up at him, her head on his shoulder. Dante sighed. “Nothing.” “That was not a question.” She clarified and watched him leave her embrace to pick a beer in the cool bag they had especially prepared for their picnic at the beach. “Talk to me.” But he didn’t. “It’s better if you know nothing.” She frowned, not enchanted at all to be left in ignorance. “Better for whom? Me?” He remained silent again and she felt anger starting to grow in her chest. “Answer me, for god’s sake! It’s been days, Tony! Days since you’ve been acting strangely. Days since Enzo came to visit to tell you god knows what.” Dante’s eyes met hers and he could finally see how furious and sad she truly was. “What? Do you really think I can’t put two and two together? Do you think I’m that stupid?” “No.” “Then what’s going on?” Dante opened his mouth but was quickly interrupted by a strange noise coming from Y/N’s purse. It was her pager furiously vibrating and ringing.
Pager? Welcome to the nineties, Patty.
“It’s my parents. -Emergency at the restaurant. Need your help-.” She read and sighed. “I got to go. But this conversation is not over, Tony.” “ I know and I promise I’ll tell you everything. Just … just give me time to make sure …” But he didn’t finish his sentence. And why would he? The last thing he wanted was for her to worry and telling her ‘Just give me time to make sure you’re going to be okay.’ didn’t sound very reassuring, right? “Make sure of what?” “ I love you, Y/N. You know that?” He cupped her soft cheek and caressed her delicate skin with his thumb. She nodded. Of course she knew. He didn’t have to say it. But she hated secrets and right now he was too secretive to her taste. Nevertheless, she indulged his desire for a loving kiss when Dante’s lips came to claim hers. “I love you too.” “ You’re staying at my place tonight?” She nodded. She could never deny him, especially when he was so sweet.
So that’s why you broke up? Because he had secrets? No. Not because he had secrets. Because of something more complicated than that.
The second the bus dropped her off at the stop a few meters away from her parent’s diner, Y/N knew something was wrong. The reddish pink neon sign of the restaurant was not shining like a beacon in the street and inside the lights were all off. Weird for a Friday night. She walked to the door anyway, holding on tightly to her purse, a worried frown creasing her young face that soon became as pale as milk when she noticed that the door was slightly ajar. She should have called the police or even her boyfriend. Surely that would have been the wise decision but when she heard a loud noise coming from the inside, she instinctively rushed in.
It had come from upstairs, from where her parents lived. Y/N climbed the stairs one by one, quickly but cautiously, with a lamp she had picked on a table in her hand to use as a weapon though she wasn’t sure that would be enough to knock out whoever had broken into the place. She could hear her heart beat loudly in her chest, ready to explode, Thump Thump, and her foot creaking the wooden floor more and more with each steps despite all her attempts at remaining silent. Creak Creak. Creak Creak. Splish Splash.
Y/N suddenly stopped and looked at her feet. Her sandals were wet. Water? But the bathroom was too far away and the liquid felt weirdly warm and way too dense. She squatted down and slowly touched the flooded floor with her fingertips. She shivered at the sensation. This felt weird, slightly sticky even. Oil? No. It wasn’t slimy enough to be oil. It was something else. She looked closely, searching for a source of light. Fortunately she didn’t need much to realise that the liquid tinting her skin was dark and … red?
Her eyes widened when she understood she was squatting in a pool of blood. Horrified she tried to get up and run but eventually slipped and squealed when she fell on her butt and the red splashed and drenched her dress and her naked legs.
Her half-eaten biscuit in her hand, her mouth agape, Patty was staring at Y/N, unable to move or to look away. This story was fascinating … scary but fascinating. And Y/N had better storyteller qualities than Dante. He always had the tendency to exaggerate. “What happened next?” Patty demanded with an over-excitement she knew was certainly inappropriate. “Next …” The doorbell rang loudly and Patty jumped and squealed. Her heart skipped a beat and her eyes widened when the bell rang again, this time almost furiously. “I guess we have an impatient visitor.” Needless to say, Patty exactly knew who that was. “Oh no.” “Don’t worry. I’m sure a nice strawberry sundae will calm him down.” Y/N smiled and got up to welcome the person impatiently waiting under the porch.

(You can find the set that this gif belongs to here 💙)
From planning to posting, share your process for making creative content!
To continue supporting content makers, this tag game is meant to show the entire process of making creative content: this can be for any creation.
RULES: When your work is tagged, show the process of its creation from planning to posting, then tag 5 people with a specific link to one of their creative works you’d like to see the process of. Use the tag #showyourprocess so we can find yours
I was tagged by @aheartfullofjolllly. thank you so much Pat! it was really fun to reflect about my own process 💗 You can find her post here and @lan-xichens' post that started it all here :)
Also thank you @huigusu 🥰 (who tagged me for my nie brothers set) I'll get to that one in a few days!
Now Pat gave me two sets to chose from to show my process, so obviously I chose the more complicated one :P
I only work in Photoshop CC 2018. I know that there are programs out there for easier cutting and sharpening but I have only just figured out how to do that in PS and I am too lazy to figure out any other programs right now xD
1. Idea and Planning
This set, like most of my sets with lyrics started with me reading the poem, clutching my heart and going "oh shit this fits my favourite characters!!". The idea actually started with me thinking that the first stanza of the poem would go really well with wwx during the burial mounds arc. Then I realized that the last stanza fits lwj better than him and from there came the idea to contrast the both of them next to each other. This is when I realized I wanted to do a dark-light contrast set, though I did not know that I would go with red and blue at that time. My idea in the beginning was just to do a black and white set
I was really impressed by how Pat said that she plans her sets around exact timestamps. Because I don't do that at all ^^ I just get ideas for which scenes would fit (in this case the wwx burial mounds scenes and lwj's kneeling and punishments scene) and then I watch the scenes to narrow them down.
Back when I made this set, I still used a screenrecorder (AceThinker Screen Grabber Pro to be precise. They have a test version that allows you to record up to 3 minutes) and recorded the scenes I needed from Netflix. This worked well enough but now I have the entire show saved on an external drive and it makes a world of difference when it comes to gif sharpness
Now, in this case I had to repeat this step once because when I was almost finished, I realized that I wanted a gif for the lwj corner but let's pretend I didn't do that and that's the way this gif was always going to look because otherwise this post will be way too long ^^
2. Creation
Short disclaimer: The creation process for this gifset was anything but linear. Multiple effects I used here were things I had never tried before. I just had a vague idea and tried to realize it through trial and error. So whenever I say "then I did xyz", it is implied that I ultimately went back to that step several times and changed stuff ^^
I started with the Wei Wuxian part of the gif. I usually use a frame rate of 0,06 (with some variation depending on gif length and size). I work in timeline so I converted all the layers to a smart layer. Then I resized the gif into a square, leaving big chunks of the gif empty (as can be seen below.) I flipped the gif horizontally, so he is looking inwards. This was simple because I felt it fitted the composition better. Then I imported the Lan Wangji part of the gif, again with a frame rate of 0,06. (Image 2)
After that I created a layer for masking in a separate PS document by rotating a square until it was point down (is that a rhombus?). I sized it to match my gif (540x540 pxl) and copied it over. (Image 3) a bit of masking magic and ta da! There's the basic layout (Image 4)
I put a layer of solid black behind wwx to get rid of the transparent bits (Image 5) and then started adding more white and black to both sides by adding solid whit and black layers that i put masks on and changed the opacity as i needed (Image 6)
("reading" direction: from the upper left to the lower right corner)
Then I fiddled with the colours a bit. The first thing I always do is using the curves layer to get more contrast. Then I use the colour balance tool and the selective colouring tool to get rid of that cql-typical cyan tint after that it's just trying to have it look "natural" while the colours still fit the overall scheme. This was difficult here because wei Wuxian’s side of the gif was very dark and when i turned up the saturation to see which colour dominated it was a very weird mixture of multiple colours. That's when i decided that I'd just go with red on his side, since lwj's side was already so blue and those to look great as contrasts.
After that just came a lot of fiddling with selective colour layers and brightness and contrast unti I has happy. There really wasn't much to it ^^. (Image 1)
After that I added the text. I knew I wanted the two lines to for a square of some kind. So I tried different fonds until I arrived at the one below. The two lines are in seperate layers so I could move them around and change the spacing between the letters until I was happy with the layout. I also changed the layer mode for the text to "difference" (is that what it's called in english? my PS is set to german sorry ^^), keeping their colour white. (Image 2)
I originally hadn't planned adding anything else but I felt like the gifs (plural because I switched between the gifs of this set) was still kind of empty and lacking, so I added the tear down the middle (a tutorial for that is either coming up later or already posted. I recently got an ask for this :)) (Image 3)
It still felt empty after that, so I tried different overlays. Okay no, first I wasted a lot of time on different free image sides but then I tried out different ones until I chose the one you can see in the finished gif. I liked that one because a) I felt the round shape was a nice contrast to all the straight lines already there and b) because once I applied a black and white filter to it and switched the layer setting to "difference" (again, i hope this is the correct translation) it looked a bit like a moon. (Gif at the top)
("reading" direction: from left to right)
And that's it! :)
Although in general, these gifs took so much fiddling! I went back and forth between them a lot and sometimes almost redid the entire thing because I had no idea what I was doing in the beginning and by the time I noticed an error, the only way to fix it was ti redo everything. So yeah, this set definitely is the the one that took me the longest out of all the ones I've posted so far.
3. Posting
I save all my gifs to my drafts first to see what they look like put together and to check if they look any different on mobile. Usually i do this several times and change stuff until I'm happd enough with it to hit post. Once i am happy enough, i can't hold back. Doesn't matter if it's at a time when nobody is online, i hit post 😅
And that's it!
Tagging:
@lanwuxiann for this gifset (I adore it so much. I've looked at it and read it severat times since you posted it and the poem just kills me every time!)
@suibianjie for this gifset (The combination of static images and gifs in your gifs is always absolutely perfect! This one is only my favourite of yours because the light coming from behind wwx is just so pretty!!! ^^)
@sweetlittlevampire for this piece (It was soooo hard to pick a piece of yours because I have so many favourites! But this one is just so out if this world, I want to know how you worked that magic :D)
@wei-gege for this set (sparkling shijie! 😭 that set is so incredibly beautiful! I love how you matched the colour of the overlay with her dress!)
@purplexedhuman for this set (your gifs are always incredible! I chise this one because it showcases both your colouring skills and some really intricate effects)
If any of you have already been tagged or don't have the time or energy for this, obviously no pressure to do this at all! 🥰
(btw, I originally tried to place the actual text of this under a "read more" cut but somehow it always messed with the order of the images, so this ended up as a rather long post. sorry!)

Going Once, Going Twice, part 4
I kid you not, I have re-written this 3 TIMES. I hope I didn’t overlook something *I’m excited to write the next one though*
CW: Whump, Pet Whump, Trauma, Manhandling, Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Restraints, Implied Abuse
Masterlist
Robert pulled up to his home, he glanced at the boy in the back of his truck. Poor thing was exhausted... He was fast asleep in the back, bundled up in his coat with his shackled wrists. He really should have taken those shackles off, but after getting his shoulder bitten, he didn’t want to scare him anymore, or risk losing a finger.
He opened the door as quietly as possible, and gently lifted him in his arms. He didn’t even stir as he was carried into his house. It was one story with a basement, even after his inheritance, he refused to move, as he always loved this place. He only fixed it up a bit and installed a nice kitchen for all his cooking dreams, it was also next to a childhood friend as well, so bonus points.
He unfortunately didn’t have a spare room, so he was just going to tuck him up in his own bed, and crash in his favorite recliner and call it a night. He pushed open the door to his bedroom with his foot, accidently jostling the man in the process, who slowly blinked to awareness. His eyes shot open.
Wait, where was he? Was he being carried? Who was carrying him?!
He let out a yelp, trying desperately to kick his way out of the man’s grasp. “Woah there!” Robert called, as Peter managed to kick his feet out from his arm, but Robert kept a firm hold on his chest. His feet hit the ground and he tried to slink out of the man’s arms, but Robert’s strength kept him held against his chest.
“Easy, it’s okay! I’m not going to hurt you, calm down!” Robert tried, as Peter cried and struggled. Finally, all the frustration and exhaustion hit him, as he let out one last desperate cry, before falling limp.
Robert slid down onto his knees with him still in his arms, this was wrong... His first step into his home and this is how he’s being treated. He was manhandling someone who was traumatized. “I.. I’m sorry.” Robert huffed, holding the hyperventilating boy in his arms. “Sshh... It’s okay. I’m going to let you go now. I’m sorry...” He released his grasp, as Peter used whatever energy he had left to scamper away.
The closest thing was the bed, as his instincts forced him to crawl underneath as far as he could push himself and tried to catch his breath. “Oh no no no... Sweetheart...” Robert sighed, flopping into his chest on the floor, trying to coax the boy out with an outstretched hand.
“I know you’re scared and exhausted. Trust me, I am too. But I can’t let you sleep under there, please come out so we can get some proper rest, okay?” He knew It probably wouldn’t work, but it was worth a shot. Peter glanced back at him with fearful eyes, too upset to budge from his spot.
Peter hugged himself under the bed. He was being so so disobedient. He couldn’t believe he wasn’t yanked out and beaten half to death for his disrespect. The man paid an unholy amount for him, so why was he being so patient? He felt terrible, and cursed his behavior.
Robert wondered if he should just leave him there for the night and crash himself. But no. He had to take care of this boy now, and he wasn’t going to be lazy about it. He inched over as quietly as he could until he could reach him. He gently placed a hand on his shoulder. The most Peter could react was a very sad little murmur and a flinch.
“Everything is okay.” He whispered, slowly pulling him closer, and closer. “Can you come out for me?’’ He soothed. Peter gave in, he was tired, and scared, and knew all the man had to do was grab him.
“I’m s-sorry!” He yelled. He wasn’t going to cry, he was going to be respectful and give his master what was owed. “I’m s-so sorry! I know I’ve been t-terrible for you, I d-didn’t mean t-to... I even bit you, and that’s unforgivable!” He cursed himself. “Oh sweetheart...” Robert muttered. “You’re not bad, you’re just scared, there’s a difference. You didn’t hurt me either, you just took a chunk out of that coat.” Robert chuckled, brushing the hair from his face.
He took his hand, as Peter cringed, waiting for a punishment. Instead, the shackles popped off and fell away from his bruised wrists, as Robert tossed them into the trash. “I.. But-.” “-Sssh, no buts. It’s off to bed with you now.” He smiled. He took his hand and pulled him up into the bed.
He pushed the heavy blankets down with a knee, and laid him in the plush bed. He whimpered and looked up at him pitifully, clutching the coat to his chest tightly. “It’s alright, you can keep the coat.” Robert smiled. “I’m in the next room if you need anything. Goodnight.” He said, sitting up and turning the light off, before heading straight to his recliner, and passing out himself.
The unwanted sun rose soon after, Robert crept over and quietly opened the door. Peter was still fast asleep, hugging the coat tightly with a peaceful expression. Thank goodness...
He pondered what to make for breakfast, it was his first morning, technically his first time meeting him too, without him being half asleep, or his teeth sunken into his shoulder... Peter had been through a lot, that much was clear. He was only going to be there for a week, not to his knowledge... But he was going to do his best to make him comfortable and happy.
He cracked some eggs and bacon onto a stove, and even decided last second to also make some pancakes. After some time, he glanced back at the bedroom. The door was... open!?
“Peter?” Robert called, trying not to let the panic leak in his voice. He ran out of the kitchen towards the open door, but startled himself when he found Peter pressed against the wall, cowering. His face said he had just woken up, but he had some energy now, it seems his fear got turned into curiosity.
He dropped to his knees instantly, still holding the coat in his arms. “Good morning... Master.” He mumbled. It felt so wrong to call someone else master then his previous one. “Good morning.” He smiled, giving himself a moment for the adrenaline to wear off.
“Come on up off the floor. You got up at the perfect time! Breakfast is ready.” Robert lifted him to his feet and steadied him by his arm.
The kitchen was gorgeous, spotless, marble countertops, golden background, hundreds of pots, tools, equipment selectively in their place, and colorful plants lining the windowsill. There was a small table in the center, with a couple of high chairs around it. Robert was a very tall man, so the chairs were quite towering.
Peter looked up at him for confirmation, as Robert nodded with a smile. He tried to hop up onto the chair, but failed a couple of times. “Is it alright if I help you?” Robert asked, as Peter ceased his attempts with embarrassment. He nodded shamefully, as Robert took his arm and gave him a boost up. He set a plate full of delicious smelling food in front of him. He gasped, covering his mouth, glancing up and down between the food and Robert, who gave him a sweet smile. “It’s all yours.” He said.
Every bite was divine, with every bite he felt more and more guilty that he didn’t deserve it. The man paid an unholy amount for him, but was also being so patient with him.
Why?
“So! Peter, is there uhh, any hobbies you like? Something I can get for you?” Robert asked. “Oh! I like... Being useful, I guess.. Master.” He replied. Robert stopped and glanced up at him. “It’s okay, you don’t have to call me that. It makes me feel like some tyranny.” He laughed. “Is calling me Robert, or Mr. McAllen okay?” He asked. “O-f course. It’s whatever you prefer, Mr. McAllen.” Using his first name felt wrong on so many levels.
“Maybe you would like to try painting, or music. I personally love woodcarving. I used to sell some awhile back.” He smiled.
Yes, yes... He knew it was only a week. But he seemed like such a sweet young man who never got to have fun and express himself. Maybe he should run to the store and buy him a bunch of things, can’t say no until you’ve tried them all!
Oh no.
It was happening.
He was starting to bond with him

Hey! Can I request for a Haz x shy!reader where they go to his house to meet his family and she is all nervous or probably makes a mistake and is like, “your family must hate me now” and Haz comforts her? asasjajskkssjsk
LOVE SO SOFT // H.O.
Boyfriend!Harrison Osterfield x Fem!Reader
Word count: 1.7k words
Warnings: A little bit of blood, minor injury, anxious reader, loads of FLUFF, hurt/comfort
A/N: I made it a complete one-shot, haha. Hope, you like it :)
Summary: It starts on a crisp winter morning with a rose. It continues on a lazy summer afternoon with a bouquet. It doesn’t end on a pouring monsoon evening even with those three magic words.
Sometimes the thing you are searching the most in your life, never comes to you, no matter how hard you try to find it. But when you finally give up and stop searching for it, it may just right there, find you itself.
That thing was love in the case of Harrison.
IT HAPPENED ON ONE COLD CRISP MORNING. He was brisk walking on the pavement, enjoying the cool wind hitting his face when he was stopped by a little "Excuse me!"
He stopped and plugged the earphones out of his ears, turning to find a woman around his age, holding a piece of paper in her hand.
"Yeah?" He asked, shifting her eyes from the paper to his face.
"Er..." She walked closer. He could sense a brief hesitation in her movement, nevertheless, she stood in front of him, speaking - "Do you have any idea where this (she read out from the paper) Mi-Michi and Mavey's Bookstore is?"
The name seemed familiar to his ears. Before he could think any further, she interrupted him: "It's near some Burger shop... I forgot its name."
The bells rang this time.
"Yeah... It on the opposite side of the post office to the left!"
Oh, of course, she didn't know where that was either. He could tell by her expressions. She must be new here.
"Thank you." She smiled, though. He could again read the hesitation in her voice and movements. She was moving away from him, walking towards the wrong direction, away from the bookstore, from the post office. And that's when he offered to walk her there.
He wasn't looking out for anything that day. He wasn't looking out to talk to her. To notice the slight smile on her lips, or the great complimenting colour outfit she was wearing. Or the way she hid her embarrassment over small things. Or the rose she gave him either.
The rose.
Yes, it was the rose that did it all.
He wasn't expecting anything more than a thank you. And definitely nothing like a flower, a rose specifically.
When they stopped outside the bookstore, she did say thank you, but she also fiddled inside the handbag she was carrying. She plucked out a pink rose and handed it to him. He couldn't deny it because he never had learned to expect it in the first place.
Someone just gave him a rose. Someone he didn't even know the name of.
"Wait... What's your name?"
But she had got inside the bookstore and he had some urgent errands to run.
There was a shop tag attached to that rose. He could read it. He knew where to find her again. He did find her again.
And then again and again...
IT HAPPENED ON ONE HOT LAZY AFTERNOON. He had brought a red rose bouquet for her. How stupid it can be? After all, she worked here in a flower shop.
"You know this a flower shop, right?" She leaned across the counter, biting her lip.
"Yup, but this is not for you." He smirked while her face grew panicky.
"Tis' for my girlfriend..." He whispered, pecking at the base of the bouquet.
Not for her... She tried to push away the feeling of her heart ripping apart inside her rib cage.
It was okay; she told herself. She wasn't expecting him to fall in love for her like the way she did for him.
It was okay. She tried to smile.
"Oh... Th-that's great!" She showed some fake enthusiasm.
It was okay.
"I-I will like to meet her someday."
He noticed the hesitation again. But this time he wanted that. He watched her as she pretended, pretended to not care, to be happy for him.
It was too much.
"You can take that spot though and get these for yourself..." He sucked in a deep breath, "Be my girlfriend."
They kissed that day at the back of the shop in that narrow alleyway, slowly and passionately. Softly and hesitantly. Shyly and confidently.
They kissed again.
And then again and again...
IT HAPPENED ON ONE POURING MONSOON EVENING. He invited her to meet his family. She hesitated again. He had held her hand, not wanting to let go.
"Please... They will love you."
She still hesitated, not wanting to meet just yet. She was ready before they actually stepped on the front porch. She literally spent two hours getting ready. But now...
"Please... For me?"
His eyes, the way they glimmered and pleaded, was again too much. He was always too much for her. She closed her eyes and pressed the door-bell. Her smile was strained when his mom welcomed her. Her heart was pounding when she hugged her. She was anxious upon removing her wet sandals, afraid if the wooden floor got dirty.
Harrison noticed again. He dumped the umbrella in the stand and stood close to her, his palm stroking her bicep, shooting her a smile which did all the magic.
She heard the unspoken message in his actions.
It's going to be okay.
Should she wait at the dinner table or help his family in the kitchen? It became the question that bothered her after a few minutes of positive interaction, draining all the optimism she had gathered. It became awkward when both his mum and sister left for the kitchen. It became weirder when he followed them, leaving her alone near the dining area.
Playing with the hem of her long sleeves was no more a suitable pass time. She didn't want to chip off the nail paint she applied so intricately. When the noise of a metal spoon or spatula falling to the kitchen floor reached her ears, that was it for her. She walked to the kitchen, desperate to get involved in whatever Harrison and his family were doing.
"Sorry, love. We should have arranged everything on time, but it got a bit delayed." His mum addressed her apologetically.
"Harrison, why don't you spend time with her?" She asked him next.
"Uh---"
"No problem. I was just... bored... thought I could be of any help?" She smiled, joining them inside the kitchen, standing beside her lover, finding something to do.
"I can chop the salad?" She offered when her eyes landed on the uncut vegetables lying over the chopping board.
"Sure..."
They were talking and laughing. So far, so good. His sister was stirring the soup on the stove. He and his mum were arranging the plates and crockery while she was cutting the tomatoes and the green vegetables.
"You can use the serrated knife for the tomatoes. It would be easier." His sister suggested.
"It's fine." She placed a tomato on the board after removing its core and started running the blade vertically. She needed to impress them, flex her chopping abilities. She went on faster, slicing the large tomatoes one after another. Until the knife slipped off and ran across her finger instead. No, the tomatoes were too soft and juicy for that kind of cutting.
The knife dropped on the floor with a sharp noise, diverting all their attention to hers.
"You oka-"
"Yeah. I will just use the bathroom," She excused herself, moving at a pace that was something between running and walking.
Opening the tap of the basin, she let the blood wash off her finger. It was a minor cut but deep. Upon hearing Harrison's voice calling her outside, she turned off the tap instantly and searched the cabinet to find some cotton and rubbing alcohol.
She walked outside, pressing the cotton over her wound, hiding it from Harrison's vision.
"Are you hurt?"
What?
"No. Of course, not." She let out a burst of staggering laughter, trying to surface the lie.
He hummed, pausing for a second, looking into her eyes. She refused to meet his icy-blue ones, clenching her fist tighter to ease the stinging pain.
"There was some blood on the board."
And now Harrison found her outright lying, hiding things. She had read on various online articles how for many people this was the end of the trust. All she wanted was to look good in his family's eyes and they must have come to know about her carelessness too. She even rejected his sister's advice.
Instead, she received a hug. Harrison had softly pushed her back into the bathroom and wrapped his arms around her body, keeping his head on her shoulder.
"I told you it was going to be okay..." He whispered below her ear, softly blowing some stray hair off that area.
"It didn't go okay though," She could feel her voice breaking.
"What didn't go okay, love? All I see is my family being absolutely fond of you." He kissed at the spot below her ear, his favourite place to kiss her.
"I just... made a fool of myself. I am such a noob."
He giggled at the choice of her words.
"No, you are not," He stepped in front of her, lifting her chin with his fingers.
"First, cutting yourself while chopping isn't a big deal. And second, even if you were a noob (he made a dorky face at the word, pouting dramatically), I don't see how it will make you a fool. Come on Y/n, we are here to meet my family not to give an exam." He wiped the little wetness on her eye-lashes and leaned in to peck her over her eyelids.
"I love you, you know that, right?"
Her heart again thudded inside her chest. He just said those three magic words for the first time or was she hearing wrong... She nodded instead, unable to say anything back.
"So, no need to feel embarrassed. And now get me your hand. Let me fix it real fast."
He made her sit over the counter and wrapped a band-aid over the cut. Meanwhile, she still thought of the words, dreading to reply.
"We good to go?"
"Huh?" She realised she was blankly staring at his face. "Er... Yeah."
She jumped off the counter as he walked towards the door.
"Hey, Harrison?"
He stopped at her voice and turned to see her walking towards him.
"I love you too." She said, pressing a kiss over his lips.
He was smiling into the kiss.
She bet she could make him smile again and again. And she did.

chapter three.
You’d thought they’d left - all the memories of him. Packed into cardboard boxes and plastic bins, folded between clothes and bare picture frames.
You realise now, they’d only been hiding, waiting for his return.
The smell of your perfume. His favourite one, strawberry jam and cosy cedar wood. It calls to moments together, of his face buried into the side of your neck. Wandering hands and wondrous laughter, warmth crowding everywhere. The wet of his teeth against your skin as he’d smile. Springtime and Sunday matinees, fresh picked fruit and messy kisses.
The mirror in your hallway - the one you’d taken too many photos in front of, that’d you almost broke one drunken stumbling night. The one he’d loved you breathless in, with a hand at your throat and another on your waist. Where he’d whisper sweet nothings with eyes only for you. Where your little piece of paradise was preserved by a pretty iron frame.
The tee shirt that you’d washed and promised to return but never had, keeping it as a trophy. A rightful reminder of his love. How it fits you just right without fitting you at all, comfortable and lazy and effortless. A mirror image to the one he wears now.
You find pieces of him scattered everywhere, swept under rugs and tucked within cupboards. He’s there in the kettle that whistles and the tea that steeps, dipped in the honey pot and hidden behind your curtains. He’s there in your thoughts, tucked away on the top shelf that you pretend doesn’t exist.
Even as he sits, still and unimposing on the couch you’d both picked, he’s everywhere.
How is he everywhere?
“Want some help?” It floats across the space, comfortably as if he’d never left. It fits easily, familiar and lovely. You hate it. You hate how it makes you feel, digging up emotions you’d buried from their rightful place in the ground.
“I’m fine.”
A lie. Lily white and inconsequential, in the grand scheme of things.
You’re not quite sure why you bother. Whose feelings were you sparing - his or yours?
“You sure?” It’s closer than you anticipate, a ghost of a breath over your shoulder. It sends your mind reeling, feet following in the same fashion as you all but slam into the hard block edge of your counter. You nearly topple mugs as you go, only avoiding a disastrous mess when hands find you, catch you like that’s what they were made for.
Jungkook’s an indomitable figure, palms searing heat into every nerve ending beneath his touch. You can’t help the way you instinctively lean into him. You love him somewhere deep in your bones, in the stardust that makes up every atom - a moth drawn to his flame.
But you knew better now. Fly too close to the sun - you’ll only get burned.
“Please don’t touch me.”
It’s you who breaks away first, turned towards the scent of chamomile and lavender. You can only imagine his expression; it’ll twist out of shape, crooked like you’ve just kicked him while he’s down.
You suppose you have, but he’d thrown the first punch.
“Why’d you invite me in if you’re only going to ignore me?” It hits like a shot to the gut, exactly as it’s meant to. He isn’t asking for the sake of asking - he’s asking so you’ll cry yourself hoarse and find comfort in his arms. He’s asking because he knows the answer and he wants you to regret it.
You know it. You know this side of him, even if you wish you didn’t.
Even if you wish he was still the same boy who you’d fallen in love with years ago, full of sunshine and promise. The one who’d have held you all night, kissed you senseless under the moon and held your hand through the sunrise. Who’d break his own back bending over, weather a hundred storms for the people he loved.
It’s a silly wish - a useless one, wasted on shooting stars and broken bones.
He would never be that boy again. He’d come too far, changed too much. You hardly even recognise him now, cut from stone rather than cloth. A thousand sharp edges you catch your hands on when you foolishly reach for him. He is an incomplete masterpiece and you’ve never been artistic. There’s nothing for you here.
A mug is extended - an unnecessary apology. An olive branch in the form of your old ritual. “Please don’t say that.”
“Then what am I supposed to do? Can’t do or say anything.” It’s petulant and angry, a riot crowded behind his teeth. You’re worried what the words might do - how they’ll beat you black and blue.
“I don’t know what you expected.” You can’t hide the exasperation, the overwhelming sadness that starts in your heart and branches out into your veins. It creeps further, presents itself prettily in jewels nestled along your lash line and the tremble of your chin. You’d cry if you weren’t so tired, every ounce of your effort eaten up by the boy that glares at you now and demands more than you can possibly give.
He sighs - a long, unbroken sound - and something shifts, snaps into place as if the entire cosmos has aligned to allow this moment.
He looks like him suddenly, like the version of himself you’d thought long lost. It’s hidden in the peculiar shape of his mouth, uneven around his frown; it’s there in the light of his stare, where sunbeams pour past boarded up windows. It’s there, even where you can’t quite see it, in the corner of his soul and his drifting heart. He’s always been a wanderer.
But then he moves, retreats back to his seat and to himself.
He feels farther away than the moon, his silence that of the stars.
You take a careful sip of the liquid that burns through ceramic - anything to distract from the cold hands of memory that claw at your neck. You turn words over in your hand - test them for clarity and weight, a jeweller inspecting their most prized possessions. Was there anything you could say that would make this better? That would fix this gaping, Jungkook-shaped silhouette that tore a hole right through you?
You remember how you’d fallen for him, tumbled headlong into love with him - intensely, blindly, wholeheartedly. It’d been easy then. You’d dived into depths too shallow, climbed trees too fall; you hadn’t thought your heart would break, even if every other part of you did.
You’d thought it’d all be worth it.
Instead you’re left with alkaline bones calcified under paper-thin skin, parchment sewn together by shaking hands and sodden by saltwater. It’s hardly a body at all, ripe for the picking and bruising and tearing beneath teeth like knives.
Can you blame him for how he hurts you when you’d already hurt yourself?
There’s a tang on your tongue. It pools between seams, dripping misery into your mouth and swallowing the sob that’s formed in a wave. It crashes against your teeth, stings the pink of your gums with salt; it rises and crests, engulfing sandy shores you’d once built your home upon. It comes and comes and you can’t stop it - sound bursting forth like a siren song.
He’s upon you then, utterly defenseless to your call. He crowds you before he can think twice about it; a drowning man seeking air. It’s a pretty metaphor for a pretty boy. What he doesn’t realise is that he is a galaxy all his own - not a sailor lost at sea but a swirling vortex not fit for human life. Jungkook contains no oxygen of his own, smothering you in what he calls love and feels more like hell.
“I’m sorry.” It disappears into velvet, clinging to silk like electricity. They spark in your eyes, electrifying your thoughts. “I’m so fucking sorry, baby.”
Arms do the opposite of what they’re meant to. They crush your resolve beneath the weight of them - pry open your insides - and you’re crumbling. The agony comes in sheets, like September rain. It streaks down your cheeks and soaks your clothes, sinking beneath your skin until you’re waterlogged.
“Don’t say that. Don’t you say that to me.”
Don’t lie to me, you think.
He speaks the words he thinks you want to hear, weaving them until they’re a muzzle for your sadness. “I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you.” As if good intentions make up for the way your heart aches.
They don’t. .
“Forgive me. Please. I need you.”
Forgive him. Forgive him? You don’t even know what you’d forgive him for. You’re certain there are more skeletons in his closet than in the ground. Dig one up and another three would rise - some sort of awful hydra’s head born from your nightmares.
“I can’t.” It claws itself out of your throat and into the air that suffocates, ripping it apart with teeth and nails. Hands find the collar of his shirt and it isn’t clear whether you’re shoving him away or clinging to him. You can’t make up your mind, fisting the material between your fingers until the strands might snap. It feels terribly familiar, like the thing behind your ribs that’s six seconds from tearing.
You’re pushing and pulling, hitting and halting. Hauled in a million different directions. It’s too much.
“What’re you sorry for?” A fist to his chest, right where your heart lives (or dies, rather). Your demands are barely coherent, words with no beginning and no end. “Tell me. Tell me what you’re sorry for.”
He could push you away. It’d be easy, really. You half expect him to. He hates being told what to do.
“I’m sorry for hurting you. I’m sorry for not realising how good I had it. I’m sorry for forgetting about what we had. I’m so fucking sorry.” They’re confessions you’ve heard a hundred times. Over the phone, through the door, on his knees. It never changes - a recital he knows intimately well. “I’m sorry for letting you down.”
You shouldn’t have expected more. It would never come - not with him. Not from him. He had too much to lose and you’d never be enough. Nothing in comparison to those thin white lines, those flashing lights, those women.
You thought you’d known that. You’d had three long years to learn that.
These apologies aren’t answers; they’re excuses.
You peer up at him - into those wondrous eyes, so full of light and swirling with constellations - that you don’t think he expects it when you thrust your hand into his chest, past sinew and gristle to find the truth. It squeezes, incremental, around the organ that you’d once thought beat in time with yours. Silly girl. It hardly beats at all.
“That’s not what you should be sorry for.” The tears still fall. They come, relentless, as if his mere presence undoes all your hard work; they carry your words, pull them off your tongue like white water rapids. “You should be sorry you’re asking me to forgive you. You should be sorry you’re putting me through this.” It’s those same fists, over and over again, as if you might force something more out of him.
“I’m sorry I can’t let you go.”
“Please let me go.”
“I can’t. I can’t.” Jungkook cries like his tears might sway the tide. “Stay with me. I can’t do this without you.” It’s a lie - a terrible, poorly-dressed lie - but he speaks it like the truth, like you’re his truth.
He begs as if he doesn’t remember the harsh sting of reality and how it fits within your story. He pretends like these chapters haven’t been written together, passages underlined in garish red ink. He acts oblivious to the mistakes you point out, refusing to read between the lines even when they’re written in.
Fault lies with him - mostly, wholly - carried in the palm of his hands with small portions - sections of his knuckles - divided up to reflect the ache of your mutual loss.
He knows that - but knowing something doesn’t mean facing it.
“I need you, Pumpkin.”
“You don’t need me.” Hasn’t needed you in years, far longer than even the last three. He’d found others to need, others to fill the gaping you-shaped hole he swore was real.
Women with beguiling eyes and beseeching mouths. Women whose names you never learnt but whose perfume found a home somewhere along your shelves, whose clothes masqueraded as yours when you’d find a wayward scrap of lace in the back pocket of his jeans. Women who took your everything - but only because he’d been ripe for the taking.
I miss you, he’d insisted over those first few weeks. I can’t wait to come home to you. Nothing’s the same without you.
You should’ve known then that someone so used to having it all would never let go so easily.
In a perfect world, you would’ve fought less, given more - uprooted your whole life to travel across the world with him. He would’ve stayed at your side, found his vice in the shape of your smile, the beat of your heart. You would’ve been happy. Together.
You wonder - would it have made a difference? Or would all paths have led to this? Had you been doomed from the start? Star-crossed lovers?
You’d like to think so. Passing blame helps - softens the pain and drowns out the what-ifs.
You never had a chance.
He wants to tell you it’s true, that none of them mean anything close to you. He wants to tell you that you’re the love of his life and that, when he gives this all up - flickers out like a star that’s burned too bright - you’ll be the one he crashes into. You’ll be the only arms he seeks, his northern star in human form.
But you told him not to lie and you’d insist he was, so he doesn’t.
He stares at you instead, soft and sad and so desperate he can trace the fractures in your composure as he levels you with that unwavering intensity. It stutters to life a hundred hummingbird wings; he can practically hear them buzzing about in your chest. He thinks they’d burst out of your chest if you weren’t careful, caging them beneath brass.
“I love you,” he tells you, words so sweet, so tender - a melody he strings together only for your ears. It warms your cheeks and fizzles quietly in your stomach, melting away the ice that crystallises your heart and turns it cold. He strips you bare with the admission, hoping to find some sort of acceptance in your eyes.
He forgets that he is not a blameless boy and your body is more than a confessional booth.
You believe it when you say it, half-hearted and defensive. It would hurt more if it weren’t so wet. “You don’t love me.”
“I do.” What can he do to convince you it’s true? He thinks he’d do anything if it brought you back to him - where he wants you most - tucked away in his arms and his head and his heart. “I swear I do.”
He reaches for you with high hopes. It’s silly of him, he knows. You’re lightyears away, tucked among the stars. It’s where you belong, out of reach and shining bright. He can’t deny how badly it hurts. He wants you here, beside him; he wants it selfishly, as he wants most things.
“You don’t love me, because you don’t hurt the people you love.” It’s a phrase Jungkook’s heard before. From your lips, from movie screens, from god knows fucking where. What a stupid phrase. He didn’t mean to hurt you. He didn’t mean a lot of things and didn’t that mean anything?
Each time it comes, it agitates him, stewing his blood to a boil. It simmers in his veins like witch’s brew, a love potion rotten and ruined - sweet milk gone sour..
Was this that - a relationship that had run its course? A bond past its expiration date?
“I love you,” he repeats, ever harder. As if the words might turn to amber, remain forever on the top of his tongue, crystallised and perfect. It feels like it. He’s told you enough times, ever since he was fifteen years old - practically an eternity.
“”You don’t.” It’s your own insistence, biting and cold and yet somehow still a summer’s day. You weren’t always like this. He’d driven you to this. But you were never very good at keeping him out; warmth always crept in, sunlight streaming through the clouds. That was the glory of your love. It was irrefutable.
Your skin may have thickened but the fire roars on.
“I love you. I love you so fucking much.” He holds you, seeks to burn the truth of his words into your marrow. Thumbs sweep the point of your chin, right below where he’d like to leave the impression of his mouth.
There’s a sadness in your eyes - an ocean of melancholy that turns them bitter blue. “Love is sacrifice.” You pry each finger from your face, turn knuckles alabaster with your gentle ministrations. A part of him wishes you’d tear them clean off; your kindness hurts more than your hate. “And sacrifice is something you’ll never understand.”
You lead him to leave, just as he’s led you through hell. You don’t falter when the door of your home swings open, the one in your heart slamming shut in tandem.
When you tell him to go, he isn’t ready - wants to spend the rest of his life in this place with you - so you guide him out, with a tiny shake of your head and a click of the lock. He stares at the wood grain when it shuts in his face - memorises the patterns of the home you’d built together. He stands there longer than he should, setting sun searing upon his shoulders. He should leave, he knows.
But you’re his weakness and he doesn’t know whether he loves you or hates you for it.
author note. this was really meant to just... explore their past a little bit? so i hope that comes across? actual plot movement will be forthcoming. tysm for reading!!! 💜

𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗰 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁
Hello stranger! Welcome to my blog and to my pinned post, in this case. You are probably reading this because you are stalking me or considering to follow me (if you are not you should consider it y'now?), so keep reading. Also if you see this on your dashboard this works better on the "web" blog I don't know how to say it. Like, when you go to the url.com that thing. So go, what are you waiting for?
I'll put a cut because this is infinite. I don't want you to be scrolling till death if you don't want to read. I recommend reading it though. Well, if you're already a mutual you don't have to.
𝓪𝓼𝓲𝓬 𝓭𝓪𝓽𝓪
First off, you can call me Kat! I have my name in the blog title but anyway, it could be useful.
Any pronouns. I'm agender and I don't have preferences for pronouns, so as you like, I don't really mind.
English is NOT my first language, expect a lot of mistakes. I usually check a couple of times what I post, but sometimes I'm too lazy to do it. This post is the best example (I'm not checking and I won't do it).
I get bored easily. That's it that's the point.
I don't know what else to put here, I'm a dumb bitch. What do people even put on these? I'm just improvising, sorry.
𝓐𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓶𝔂 𝓫𝓵𝓸𝓰
Surprise! I don't know how to draw, I don't know how to write and I don't know how to communicate with people! Have I mentioned that my English sucks? No? Well, there you have, then.
I can't be on two fandoms or like two shows at the same time (in this case), so don't expect me to post about anything else that isn't JoJo's. Also, expect tons of shitpost or me just talking about things that happen to me.
Every now and then I post something interesting, but not that much. My two most popular posts are an Araki drawing of Caesar and Joseph and a comment on TikTok about Stardust Crusaders and how fucking sad it is.
I used to talk a lot about DIO. Now I don't do it much, but just wait till I rewatch Stardust Crusaders. My gallery is filled with pics and videos of DIO, just you wait.
Caejose is my current brainrot, but I don't post much about it because I suck at headcanons. I think about old Caesar in Stardust Crusaders a l o t, but I just imagine specific scenarios, so that's why I don't post them (oh shit I just had a déja-vu).
I sometimes post about my dreams, when I'm not too embarrassed of them. I once dreamed with Abbachio poledancing, another one with Bucciarati and me in a jacuzzi and the last one I had I was hiding with Caesar in some secret place, I don't remember the context. My dreams are elite I don't care what y'all say.
I love tag and ask games, so feel free to tag me. I'm bored 80% of the day. If you like you can leave a random ask, I don't mind. Actually, I like random asks. Do it.
Also, I have like "sections" of my blog, like tags. "Kat draws" where I... post my sketches???, "Kat is mad" where I just post random stuff I'm mad at, "Kat kats"... I don't know what this is about it's me in my most pure state, that's why it's called "kats". I had to invent a verb.
If you see this tag ":]" on a post (most likely to be sth about DIO), hell is going to unleash on the rest of the tags. You can check it for yourself just by searching it on my profile.
Everyone is welcomed here and I want y'all to feel safe on my blog, unless...
𝓓𝓸 𝓷𝓸𝓽 𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽...
(I have to fix this part but it's 1 am I'll do it tomorrow ig)
If you are or support proshippers, this is not your blog, I'm sorry. I'm not comfortable with you around here.
If you are TERF/rad-fem. I don't share your ideals, sorry. I'm not comfortable with you around here either.
If you are or support pedophiles, racist, homophobic, transphobic people. Don't be an asshole please, open your eyes.
I want this to be a safe place for everyone and you are a threat to my goal.
𝓕𝓾𝓻𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓻 𝓲𝓷𝓯𝓸 𝓪𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓶𝓮
Well, you can skip this, this will be long.
I'm dumb af, you can notice in many of my posts but it's important to get this clear before starting.
I'm a minor. I don't mind adults interacting as long as they aren't weird and aren't mentioned in my do not interact. Thank you.
Sometimes I'm too friendly, but please do not misundertand my words. I'm aro and I don't want any relationship. Sorry if you're uncomfortable with how I talk, just tell me and I'll stop.
I think I'm funny but I'm not.
I don't know how to communicate with people. I don't even know how to do it in my mother language, I don't know what you are expecting from me. I'd love to talk to you if you want though, I just suck and I'll probably run out of things to tell after 2 minutes of chatting.
I vent sometimes, but just trivial things. I think I do not have any TW to put like, in the general blog. If it is one, I'll put it on the specific post.
I get obsessed over a specific series, anime or book and I stick with it for months. In that time, I can't watch any other series or anime that isn't the one that I'm obsessed with at the moment. Right now I'm on my JJBA obsession.
Also, I've just watched the anime parts. I would start reading the manga, but I'm waiting for the Stone Ocean anime release. I don't know if I could wait til then though.
My personality type is INTP in MBTI and 5w4 in Enneagram. I was True Neutral in Alignment but I did the test on January. I have to do the tests again. By the way I know this tests aren't 100% accurate but it's the unstoppable need to try to know myself that keeps me inspiring me to do them on repeat, don't mind me. Annnd because I'm too lazy to read all the personalities one by one.
I don't know if anyone wants my Discord, but here it is anyways:

I usually forget things a lot so expect a bunch of "I was going to say/complain about something but I forgot what it was".
I had more things to put on here but I forgot so this section will be constantly updated.

Again, the unstoppable need to know myself. Here's my kinwheel:
If you don't know how this works, in the centre is my main kin, then medium or highkey kins and lastly, the lowkey ones.

I think that's it by now. Thank you for doing it this far! Now, can we be mutuals? Or besties maybe? I don't have much to offer, but here is my visual representation:
If you want to know about my JJBA opinions search the tag #jjba 30 day challenge. I left it on day 6 but I'll continue soon. I promise.
Well, now's definitely over. I hope you see me as a cool person because that's my goal in life. Also, I'm praying for this shit to work well on my blog, this ain't Amino.
Have a nice stay! Thank you for making it this far. And remember: you're cool, you're loved and you matter. Take care of yourself please. See ya.

//I know it ain’t munday but have had a few apparently some discrepancies over what my blog is, cuz there’s been some soft blocking of mutuals which is literally whatever, customize your experience I ALWAYS uphold that, just know if you’ve not communicated with someone they literally can’t fix, or stand by as the case may be, whatever it is or isn’t a problem.
What I do enjoy it though is when it’s people who followed, but didn’t send my rules passcode back, as though I don’t communicate what you’ll find here somewhere??? So slapping some of it on the dash since it’s so hard to read apparently:
I’m Taggerung, she/they. I’m 27, and have been on this godsforsaken site since 2011 with Nilza’s original blog before I made this one for Rogue. As such, I’ve seen the rpc at its ‘MCU is in diapers, pre-nippocalypse glory bullshit’. Read: I’m jaded af, my humor is often darker still, and it’s not remotely all due to this site.
You can and will find regular aesthetic and musing postings (I am not a source blog to follow only to glean from these as some like to do- mutuals please feel like you can reblog, I’m speaking of the people that NEVER write and literally act as though my blog says musespo or rph or something somewhere). I run a queue that posts 6xd during EST waking hours, and I don’t confine myself to just that if I see something that works, I’ll reblog from the dash then and there. These can and will be dark, violent, smexy, or otherwise nsfw a lot of the time because I’m a grown adult and it applies to my muses. Smexy is always tagged, but if you’re shy about any of that stuff here, it’s littered in my writing as well- these aren’t sunshine and rainbows 24/7 characters.
Rogue is not my only muse, nor do I pretend like she’s my only muse to gain followers or something. I don’t actually pay attention to the follow count cuz it’s irrelevant to writing. I’m sorry if you thought just because she’s a main muse I named my blog for when it was a solo muse blog that she’s the only thing I focus on. No. I don’t push any of my OCs on people, cuz truly I don’t like writing with people that don’t want them, but you will see OC content on here. Not just Rogue, and not just Sara.
This is a Purity Culture and dictating what people can and can’t write no fly zone. This isn’t Catholicism, we don’t do different levels of writing evil/problematic/messed up deeds is somehow less evil based on how well you villainize other fucked up shit to ‘soften’ how your own fucked up shit looks standing next to it here. Meaning pro-villains being villains, the good guy doesn’t always win and bad things happen, mun ≠ muse, write what the fuck you want to, and writing is FICTION are golden rules around here.
I can’t stand the ‘clean dash’ concept and refuse to join in. See point one- I’m old school, and getting to know someone via ooc and other non-thread posts to me is vital. As such I don’t apologize for my ooc, I don’t tag it tbd to give false impressions, and I never am bothered by your ooc posts being visible. There’s no such thing as “too much ooc”.
I am a multi-para/novella preferred writer, as such some of my threads can be lengthy. They are the main focus and won’t be getting tagged ‘long post’ just because you need more than half a thumb swipe to get past, the shit is frankly insulting and lazy. If it’s a giant ooc post? Sure. But three scrolls does not a long post make ya bums. The color of the sky? THAT is a long post.
I will never post callouts or ooc drama with a mun, just salt with problematic behaviors as a general. If there’s a problem with an actual mun it gets settled in DMs (or it doesn’t, some people aren’t looking to communicate), but if you’re looking for me to spread witch hunts for you? Not happening.
My inbox is always open. I may be a very blunt person who doesn’t believe in bullshitting people, but I’m also never going to just pop off on you if you need to voice something even if we don’t agree. If anything, I’ll probably be thanking you for communicating.
Okay, that SHOULD cover everything that offends everyone! :D
I’ll repeat that I believe if someone writes something that makes you uncomfortable to follow- you should just unfollow them and it’s not a bad thing to do so. It’s far better than disparaging them for staying in their own lane keeping their peanut butter out your chocolate. Just know nothing I do around here should be coming out of left field for anyone, I really don’t have the energy for fake, shit’s exhausting. What you see is me.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
The night shifts weren’t all bad. From time to time, they were even as good as “pretty straight forward”. They proved especially useful when trying to finish patient notes and random admin that always got left to the very end of the shift. Perhaps they’d endure a tidy-out of the stock cupboards if the crew was feeling generous. Since O’Brien had taken up his post at the hospital years earlier, he had insisted upon mandatory training updates for the ER units every three to four months (the national average was about once a year) so the team were regularly reminded not to set fire to their computers and not to leave boxes in places people could trip over. You’d be surprised how often both those things happened in an emerging crisis.
“I swear he thinks we’re idiots half the time.” Complained Jack, his head now glued to the palm of his hand. Jack was hurtling towards an early retirement thanks to an ever-increasing distrust of the corporate environment ER departments found themselves in. We trained to save lives, he’d say, not file stat reports. He was so right, it hurt.
The crew was sat round the reception desk. The ER was empty except for a local homeless man the team allowed in from time to time to sleep off his latest drunken adventures.
“Who doesn’t know how to bend their knees when lifting something heavy?” Jack asked again.
“Ryan for one.” Sarah joked, pointing her cold cup of tea towards the fellow nurse in question. Ryan was a tall and skinny guy, not dissimilar to Alexander Skarsgard in the right light but with less charm although he had left a few of the interns swooning of late. Shanna quite liked him, too.
“One time, Sarah. One time and I suffered for it greatly.” Ryan remarked, spinning a full 360 in his swivel chair. “Did you tick ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ for question eleven?”
“Oh, if you don’t tick ‘strongly agree’ even if you only ‘agree’, they mark you down a couple of percentage points.” Entered Audrey, slamming down a pile of files on the desk beside Sarah. Their nightly routine just got more interesting. “Just get it over with. It’s not worth the effort. It’s just O’Brien being obsessed with stats again. He turns everything into a competition. I swear it’s unhealthy.”
Ryan looked momentarily confused before returning to face his computer screen. He re-read the question for the fifth time and rubbed his eyes in resignation. Something about 3am made this far too complicated.
“When did you even find time to do this, Aud?” Jack asked, turning back to Sarah and Audrey in time to witness their shared look self-satisfaction. “I’ve been sat here for half an hour and am still only part way through the first section.”
“I logged in at home earlier.” she responded before catching Sarah’s quizzical look. “Well, Michael did most of it for me.”
“Fucking hell!” exclaimed Jack, chucking his pen on the table, giving up. “Got no chance then, have I? Michael’s a bloody genius. Hey, how much for him to do mine?”
“Normally I’d say $100 but he’s pretty cheap these days.” shrugged Audrey. “Probably a fancy cigar would do.”
“He still grumpy about the you-know-what?” whispered Sarah to her friend when the guys started joshing between themselves.
Audrey leaned back on the desk beside her and took the mug from Sarah’s hands to take a sip, grimacing slightly at the sweetness. For some reason, Sarah had to have at least three sugars in her tea if she was drinking it post-midnight. It helped to keep her more alert apparently. She didn’t drink it like that at any other time of the day. “No more than usual. Seems like we’re both unlucky in that department at the moment.”
Sarah smiled at her in acknowledgement, lips thin before biting the inside of her cheek.
Following their last meet-up, Chris had been decidedly quiet. Too quiet almost. It was weird. He hadn’t messaged her. He hadn’t called or visited their apartment except to collect a parcel he had left. Sarah has been out for a run at the time and had felt silently glad to have missed him. He hadn’t updated his twitter and there had been multiple sports events occurring that would have guaranteed a humblebrag or five. Shanna had pledged to buy rib-eye steaks for a Saturday night meal during a Celtics game and he had cancelled at the last minute citing an interview he had conveniently forgotten. Even Audrey thought it was weird. If anything was guaranteed to get his attention and bring him out of whatever funk he was in, it was the promise of sports and a ‘Grade A’ barbeque.
Shanna merely put it down to his laziness or him having something better turn up. Scott had started replacing Chris around their apartment, wanting to get some of his own distance from the tricky Zach situation and it helped her feel better knowing he was at least in touch with him if Shanna wasn’t. He was evidently still alive.
Sarah decided to swap a couple of daytime stints to partner up with Audrey for the nights. She needed the comfort of working with a good friend to calm her down from whatever ledge her anxiety had placed her on.
“You know that he’ll come back, right?” Audrey interrupted her thoughts. Maybe Sarah spoke too soon. “Haven’t you got that birthday thing for Lisa coming up?”
That trip was a couple of weeks away yet. She was trying to bank some reasonable excuses but everything sounded lame in the cold light of day and Lisa was never going to accept her not coming as well. Surely things would have smoothed themselves out by then?
“This won’t just fix itself, hun, you’ll need to speak to him eventually. And the sooner the better.”
It was like Audrey had a hotline straight into Sarah’s psyche. It was unnerving at the best of times. Sarah knew she was right of course. It’s just, a little bit of distance would be a good thing, right? Even Chris himself had offered that advice from time to time, and stressing herself out at this point almost seemed counterintuitive.
“I reckon you could go in an hour or so if you wanted.” Audrey offered, nudging her friend with her elbow to bring her back into the room. “It’s dead out there.”
“I hope not.” Sarah joked, trying to lighten the mood. “We’d be shit at our jobs if that was the case.”
Audrey laughed for the first time since Sarah could remember that day. It was moments like this that reminded her of why she enjoyed working alongside her so much, and why she didn’t mind if it resulted in overtime.
“You wanna take patient referrals while I take the EPRs?”
“How can I refuse an offer like that?” Sarah picked up the dozen or so documents sat in front of her and grabbed the nearest chair. Audrey told her she’d put the kettle on and nudged the guys still glued to their screens. Ryan had pretty much given up logical thinking and was now ticking random boxes. Jack was cursing under his breath. O’Brien was going to be in for a real treat when he could finally tabulate the responses.
It was nearing 6.20am when Sarah and Audrey finally packed up to go. Matt and Stephanie had just arrived to take over for the morning, bringing a fresh perspective for the day. There wasn’t much for them to catch up on so it should be a smooth few hours at least. Sarah even ran a mop through the staff locker room as an added gift – Steph was a notorious clean freak – nearly tripping Greg up in the process.
He’d been on leave for the past fortnight and his hair was a little longer than she remembered. A five o’clock shadow graced the lower part of his face and it suited him more than she thought it would. He had kept up with the informal tie-less attire and he seemed to be, dare she it, enjoying himself.
“God, I’m so sorry.” She held her hands up in a mock mea culpa. “I was just gonna put it away before heading out. It was a stupid place to leave it.”
“Did you not take the Health and Safety refresher?” he joked, rebalancing himself and trying to play down the redness creeping into his cheeks from the embarrassment of temporarily losing his footing in front of her.
“You gonna rat me out to O’Brien? ‘Cos you know as well as I do that he doesn’t need yet another reason to know he’s right.” She shifted the mop and bucket and placed them back in the supply closet before reaching for her bag again.
“Nah, don’t worry about it.” He moved passed her before turning to face her again. “Tell you the truth, I ghosted the last couple of tabs myself. Who knew there were so many ways to ask questions about standing in elevators?”
Sarah rolled her eyes in acknowledgement. “Yeh. I can’t wait to have the team meeting when he realises we’ve all pretty much done the same thing. That’s gonna be fun. I might finally take some of my holiday.”
“Yeh, good plan. Hey listen,” His words stopped her in her tracks, feet from the exit. “Um, I know it’s been a while but I was wondering if you might want to reschedule that tennis match some time? Or if not, we could get some dinner or something? There’s that new sushi place on Reagan Street. It’s meant to be really good if you fancy it?”
She was indeed familiar with that very restaurant thanks to the glowing reviews she had been unable to avoid since it opened. Audrey had only mentioned it a mere thousand times in her presence. Word was that bookings were now months in advance so she wasn’t sure how Greg was hoping to find a table unless he wanted to make plans with her in November. Given the number of commitments he always appeared to have going on, it wouldn’t be completely outside the realm of possibility.
“Wow, I thought that place was fully booked?”
“Yeh, it is, but I went to college with one of the investors and he’s promised me a one-off.”
Of course he did. Sarah bit her bottom lip to stop herself from chuckling out loud, imagining Audrey’s face when she would inevitably find out. To be honest, she was genuinely surprised he was still showing a minor interest in her. When she finally made eye contact with him, his earnestness was practically shining. Had he always had perfect skin?
“Um…” That was a good start, she thought.
“Honestly, it’s not a big deal if you’d rather not.” He helpfully pre-empted her awkward rejection but she wasn’t sure if that was a good thing. “I’ve been meaning to go is all and I knew you liked sushi and figured it might be fun? They have live Jazz on Sunday nights.”
When did he find out she liked sushi? And live Jazz? Just how much had Audrey told him about her?
Realising she probably looked perplexed, she shuffled her shoulder strap back up onto her shoulder and tried to relax the awkwardness setting in between them. It was still quiet and no one was within earshot that she could figure out of her peripheral vision.
“It’s not you, Greg, I promise. It’s just, I’m not really looking to get into anything right now. With anyone. Plus, we work together and…I’m sorry. I hope that’s OK?”
“Hey, look, I promise it won’t be awkward. There’s absolutely no expectations from me and if you change your mind, just let me know, yeh? I literally know no one else who likes Sashimi so I can’t waste my only chance to get a table.” He chuckled and she felt more at ease.
“If it’s any consolation, I’m a pretty crap date.” She smiled at him as she edged herself down the hall, putting space between them both literally and figuratively. “You wouldn’t be missing out.”
“Oh, I doubt that somehow.” He returned her smile. “I’m serious, though. Just let me know. Anytime. No expiration date.”
And with that, she had been left dumbfounded by two men in the space of a single week.
*
It would have been easier to get the early morning bus home at this time, as tired as she was starting to feel. She hadn’t slept well in the last few days and she had a creeping nausea from the lack of proper rest. The walk and crisp, fresh air might do her some good. It was practically full daylight even at this hour, and it was sometimes fun to watch people on their own way to work, huffing along, trying not to drop their coffees.
The out-of-town school bus passed her a few minutes out from her apartment and as she rounded the corner, she got this weird sense that someone was watching her. Another corner turned and she could see her building in the near distance. Still, she couldn’t shake it. She stopped, pretending to fumble for her phone in her pocket and turned around swiftly to see a sweaty Chris stop a few steps behind her.
It took her a moment to register it was in fact him, his beard fuller and a Red Sox cap pulled down low over his eyes. He had sweats and sneakers on and looked like he was on a run. Honestly, if someone else had spotted him from this distance, they would have worried he was going to attack her.
“Hey,” she said, turning to fully face him. “What are you doing out at this time?”
He didn’t respond at first. He shuffled from one foot to the other before grounding himself and taking a couple of steps towards her. Again, he shuffled back a step like he was rethinking his move. She didn’t appreciate seeing him like this, so unsure of himself.
“Five months out from filming some pre-shoots so figured I’d make a start.” He finally spoke. Not a really a smile but he at least sounded OK.
“Cool.” She said, nodding back at him. “Um, I’m not sure if Shanna is awake yet but do you want to come inside for some water or coffee?”
“Yeh, that’d be great. Thanks.”
She turned to continue walking on. For a few long moments, he stayed walking slightly behind her. A couple more strides and he had decided to catch up. The last time it had taken this long to walk this same street, she had been so drunk she had narrowly avoided falling into her neighbour’s front garden.
“Five months? You’re not that out of shape.” She tried to make a joke. It was the only thing she could think of. Audrey would be eye-rolling like a champ if she could see them now.
Chris knew she was trying to make small talk now so he decided to indulge her. It was a fair response, he thought - he was doing OK - as he followed her up the stairs deliberately keeping two or three behind her in an effort to keep it casual.
“Oh, y’know. I fluctuate pretty easily. A few pizzas here and there and it’s game over.”
They walked into her kitchen and she had been right in assuming Shanna was still asleep. Unless she had awoken really early but that was highly unlikely, unless there was a sale at Ted Baker she didn’t know about.
He lingered in the doorway while she searched the fridge for a bottle of water. Grabbing one from the back, she turned to hand it to him expecting him to be within an arm’s reach from her but he had been distracted by something down the hall before turning back to her. Gratefully, he accepted it and walked into the kitchen to take up his usual spot leaning against the counter.
“Sorry, did you say you wanted a coffee?” She offered.
“Nah, I’m good. Can’t really take caffeine until this afternoon.”
“Sorry. I always forget how strict it is.” She apologised, offering him a sympathetic smile.
He took a long swig from the bottle, not breaking eye contact from her. “No need to apologise. You OK? Night shift?”
“Yeh. Pretty quiet, thankfully.”
“I’ve always meant to ask but what is it like, a night shift? I can’t work out if it would be worse or not.”
She understood what he meant and laughed. “It can go either way to be honest but it’s been quiet the last few nights. Nothing crazy. I caught up with some paperwork, so…” She shrugged again, acutely aware of how boring she must sound.
He nodded at her. “Aren’t people supposed to be crazier in the summertime?”
“Well, kids are around more and families tend to spend more time together, so…”
The apartment was unnervingly quiet now which was weird. She could hear the uptake in traffic outside which provided some relief that perhaps he couldn’t hear her heart beating out of her chest. She could make out some small sweat patches on his hoodie and it did something to her that she wasn’t expecting. Shaking the thought from her head, she turned to switch the kettle off.
“What?” He asked.
She jerked her head back around to face him. “Huh?”
“You were thinking of something. Your neck just went red.” He smiled, tilting his head at her and relishing the look of surprise making its way over her features, knowing he’d caught her out.
That was news to her. She knew she had “tells” but a red neck was not usually one of them. How come no one had ever told her about this?
“I can’t tell if you’re joking with me or not.” She inquired, playfully narrowing her eyes at him in an effort to lighten the mood.
He shrugged a shoulder at her, a smirk starting to cross his fine features. Joshing with her was good. She’d take that. A small step in the right direction.
“Sometimes, it’s really obvious. You get it when you’re embarrassed about something, or when you try to lie. I’d never really noticed it before, but...” He paused. His expression started to turn more thoughtful and she wished he’d just continue to make fun of her instead.
“Guess I won’t be playing poker anytime soon.” She finished the thought for him.
“Yeh, no, you’d be rubbish at that. Just terrible.” He took another swig from his bottle and waited for her to throw something at him.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.”
The room went quiet again. She stirred her mug of coffee and offered him another chance at one which he politely refused although his discipline was waning slightly now he could smell it.
“So this is fine.” He said after a couple of minutes, nodding in a slightly exaggerated manner. He looked out of the kitchen window. “We can do this, right? No awkwardness. No embarrassment. Just normal, everyday conversation.”
“’Course,” she nodded in agreement.
“Start as we mean to go on, right?”
She nodded again. This felt like a trap and she couldn’t put her finger on why. Chris had a knack for saying and doing two different things at the same time, an intimidating ability that often put people on edge if he thought it would serve his purpose, whatever that may be. Probably the actor in him. When you called him out, he would aggressively defend himself which only served to prove the point you were making in the first place.
Scott was the only one, truly, who knew when it was happening. It had taken Sarah years to get to a similar position but now, she wasn’t sure she was remotely close to it.
“It’s as good a starting point as any, I guess.” She shrugged again, sipping from her cup.
“So there’s no need to ignore me then.”
“I haven’t been ignoring you, have I?”
“You tell me. I’m just pre-empting it is all. I’m just saying we can still interact, you and me, if we need to. Like, it doesn’t always have to be in social settings with other people around.” He took a final drink from his bottle and turned to locate the recycling pot stashed away in the corner. Even with a mundane task, he always looked cool doing it.
“So don’t worry about it.”
“Alright then. That’s good to know.” She shot him a raised eyebrow which he caught and returned with a sly smirk. “I’m just trying to be sensible. We have to get this right or else there’s no point.”
“I know, I get that, too.” If he wasn’t attempting to be serious before, he was now. He had a hand on his hip and seemed to have grown a few inches in height. “What do you think I’m trying to say?”
“I…think I’m on the backfoot again and it’s weird.” She held a hand up in defence.
“Hey, I’m just doing what we agreed, OK? I’m just following your rules.”
“They’re not rules.” She struggled to regulate the volume in her voice in case she disturbed Shanna. “And you’re making it sound like I’m controlling the situation when I’m not. We both agreed on this. There’s no point being difficult about it.”
Was he being difficult? Yes. Obviously, he was. He wasn’t happy. He wasn’t sure what he was feeling but happy definitely wasn’t it. Things were out of sorts and he hadn’t been able to eat carbs or sugar for four days so the withdrawal symptoms certainly weren’t helping. He should go easier on her. She was doing the thinking for the both of them. He should learn to be more grateful for that.
He scratched the back of his head and let out an audible sigh in frustration. “I’ll try harder, I promise. We’ve got that cabin thing coming up with Mom, so…I promise I’ll be good.”
He imitated the scout salute and she smiled at him, a smile not quite reaching her eyes.
*
Another night shift and Audrey and was starting to get suspicious. No one willingly switched for a night shift. For one thing, there was a disproportionate amount of recovery time. A couple of night shifts often took in excess of a week to recover from; a week that a nurse definitely did not have to spare.
“He been buggin’ you?” she asked, finally growing tired of the silence.
“Who?” Sarah looked up from the cabinet. “No, not really. We haven’t really spoken.”
“So why are you ignoring him?”
“I’m not ignoring him! Why does everyone think that?”
“Who’s everyone?”
Crap. Audrey had her there. Sarah open and closed her mouth without a sound coming out. She took a breath. “He’s not bugging me. He’s not. I’m just trying to limit the times we’re in the same place at the same time.”
“Huh, you’d think he would at least allow you to have peace in your own home.”
“Well, to be fair, he hasn’t been around all that much, but…at least I don’t have to worry about him showing up unannounced. It’s stupid but I feel way more awkward about him than I thought I would. It’s like I can’t even stand to be under his gaze.”
Audrey glanced at her friend, wishing she could offer some words of comfort. Even for someone as verbose as she normally was, she was finding it a struggle. Sarah wasn’t much looking for words of comfort at the given time either. She was all too aware of the predicament she was in and how much responsibility laid at her feet. In her mind, waiting it out was the only logical solution she could come up with. The only logical solution that didn’t require more conversations with someone who could feasibly run rings around her “theory” that if they just stayed apart for a little while, they would suddenly and magically forget about the past couple of months.
They stayed filing documents in silence again, the air seemingly getting thicker.
“You ever spoken with someone and it’s like they’re thinking the complete opposite of what’s coming out of their mouth?” Sarah huffed while shoving the cabinet drawer closed.
“Not really. That person’s usually me.”
“But why?” she asked. “Why can’t you just be normal?”
“I mean, it’s not my go-to response of course. It’s normally reserved for occasions when I am trying to indulge someone because I know they’re talking bullshit. Like, when I know Mike has been gambling but he tries to deny it? It’s just easier to figure him out that way.”
Sarah froze to the spot, looking at her friend. She breathed a heavy sigh and turned to lean back on the table behind her and crossed her arms. She stared at her shoes for a second.
“Chris is a smart guy. I’ll give him that.” Audrey muttered loudly so she was sure Sarah could hear.
“Give me something! I’m your friend here.” She implored her before chuckling to herself at Audrey’s face and her own apparent lack of self-awareness.
“You know what I think? You’ve probably got withdrawal symptoms from the all the amazing sex you’ve had and now you’re sulking. I think you should get back on that horse and let him fuck you again. That’s what this is.”
Sarah eyed her friend again. For once, she would love to hear someone tell her that she was right. “That’s really not helping, y’know.”
“And this is?!” Audrey’s shriller tone cut through the dry air, smacking Sarah right in the face. “Honey, this isn’t healthy. You hiding out in the hospital and treating it like your own solace is not healthy at all. I love you but you are your own worst enemy.”
“Alright, thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you for your unswerving efforts to be honest with me at all times and not, like a normal pal, be comforting in any way.” Sarah comically bowed to her friend before considering leaving the office. She would have followed through with the idea as well if it wasn’t for the cosy warmth of O’Brien’s office versus the coldness of the ER department thanks to a leaking pipe. “It’s difficult. I’m sorry. I don’t wanna fall out with you, Audrey.”
Audrey just smiled at her. “I don’t know why you think you have to be the beacon of morality all the time, Sarah. Take a look around. No one else is. We all out here just trying to live our lives as best we can and a part of that is taking advantage of moments of happiness when we find them.”
Something about what Audrey was saying did resonate with her but comparing two months of happiness with Chris to ten years with Shanna was not something she could in good conscience do. Shanna was her security blanket. She provided a comfort of living with someone with shared life experience, of knowing how little you thought about yourself because you were given up as a baby. Honestly, from the very first day they had met, Sarah felt lucky to know her.
Yes, Shanna could be immature at times. Maybe a little selfish. She would often get carried away with trivial things and wasn’t the most reliable person, but what Sarah got in return was worth that and more. Her family enjoyed highlighting the maternal care Sarah would have to provide to someone who was seven months older than she was, but honestly it didn’t matter.
Maybe this was one of the rare occasions where Audrey was wrong.
Chris was a fling at best, Sarah told herself, when she was lying in bed struggling to fall asleep. When she was cold and missing his arms around her. They were both having shitty times and they both got something out of it. That was what Chris had said himself at the very beginning.
Chris 08.15am: You home? Shanna said you were working late again
It was like he knew she would be thinking about him.
Chris 08.17am: I really dont want u ignoring me all the time. This is hard for me right now as well
Fuck.
Sarah 08.21am: I kno. I’m so sorry I made you feel like that :(
He didn’t respond. She thought she saw the tell-tale three dots of him writing something but nothing appeared. Giving up on sleep, she got up and headed into the kitchen. Shanna had left her some bacon in the fridge and a fresh bread bun on the side so she turned on the grill and set about making some coffee.
She felt strangely awake for this time and the apartment was nice and warm from the bright sunshine streaming in from all corners. Maybe a run would help. Or a cold shower.
Chris 08.44am: I wanna be honest with u but I dont think u want that
Chris 08.45am: so what do i do??
Fuck knows.
Chris 08.51am: Can I come over?
Sarah 08.54am: that’s not a good idea
Chris 08.55am: cos you know what will happen?
Chris 08.56am: what does that tell you??
She was sure he was nursing some kind of hangover or, quite possibly, he was still a little bit drunk. There were two responses she could give, she figured. The first would be her usual denial and perhaps an excuse that she was busy or working later than planned. The second, and ultimately the one she opted for, was to agree with him.
Sarah 09.05am: I know what it tells me. That’s why I’m saying you shouldn’t come over
Another three dots followed. There was only so many times they could go around and around in circles and as much as Audrey’s words made sense to her, it felt like she had to make the effort to regain some normality.
He didn’t respond. She stared at her phone for an age but nothing came through. Maybe he got the message? Maybe he had fallen asleep. She was both relieved and suspicious; Chris wasn’t someone who backed down from an argument when he thought he was right. He had said as much himself.
She turned the grill off, having lost her appetite. A run might make more sense and could help clear her head.
She couldn’t sit around waiting for Chris to make his next move.

Joining His Pack: Bonding (Final)

A/N: First day of Fic Dump! Anybody surviving the music video? Because I’m hanging in there but I have about a thousand ideas for Yoongi stories now. Haven’t listened to the full thing yet, but I will after I post this.
Darkness and the damp smell of rain is what woke you up.
You groaned and rolled onto your feet, shivering at the cold of the floor and shuffling toward where the damp smell was coming from while still trying to open your eyes and getting your wobbly legs to comply.
You grumbled when a cool breeze met your skin, making you shiver again as chills went up your spine.
Then a blanket was draped around your shoulders. “The door broke,” Namjoon whispered, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind.
You sighed and leaned back onto him. “Guess that moved up on our list of things to fix and replace.”
He nodded. “Just a little. Sort of a pretty morning, though.”
You finally managed to peel your eyes open, looking out over the back yard as the rain poured down across your yard—the flowers from your garden bending but staying upright. Predawn light giving the world a hazy look that was actually quite soothing.
“Our gardens will be happy, we were supposed to water them yesterday,” He commented further, head resting on yours.
You yawned, turning and hugging onto him instead. “Why’s it so cold?”
“Because you’re naked, babe,” He chuckled.
You huffed indignantly. “And why am I naked?”
“Because we mated,” He whispered in your ear, fingers grazing over the ultra-sensitive spot where he had marked you.
You shuddered, keening at his touch and pressing closer.
He chucked again. “Come on, back to bed with you. I’ll be there as soon as I prop the door back in the frame. I’m surprised you can walk.”
“Barely, my legs are still wobbly. What happened to the nest?”
“I cannibalized it to make sure you stayed warm.” He guided you back to bed, holding you upright until you could collapse onto it, then covering you up carefully to make sure you wouldn’t get cold.
“Where are you going?” You asked indignantly.
He smiled. “Door? Me, propping it in the frame to keep the house warmer?”
“Oh,” You mumbled, grabbing and pulling the blankets. “Hurry.”
He laughed softly, his “you’re too adorable and I’m dying” laugh which you loved so immensely. He was too adorable for words. He could be all suave and cool but all you had to do was flirt a little and suddenly he turned into your tall, clumsy, adorkable sweetheart who was so cutely shy that sometimes you felt the need to just shower him in affection until he was all dimples and laughter.
Maybe you should have put the door back in place.
You pushed yourself up. “Namjoon, be careful!”
Your warning came a little late, a crashing noise sounding through the house as the words “be careful” left your mouth.
You winced. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I just dropped the door. I’ll be there in a second,” He answered, only a slight edge of panic in his tone.
You leaned out of the bed and pulled the basket of extra blankets closer to you. “Is the door okay?”
He didn’t answer for a moment. “Sort of?”
You slipped out of bed again, stumbling out to look. “Oh my.”
He cringed. “What should I do?”
You examined the situation. “Call Jin or Micheal.”
He nodded, following you back into the bedroom and ushering you into bed, making sure you were tucked in while he went to call one of the men for help with the situation.
You were in a sort of doze when he crawled into bed again, arms wrapping around you and hands chilled.
“You asleep?” He asked in a whisper.
“Mmm, not quite.”
“I love you.”
“I love you more.”
“We’re going to last the ages, aren’t we?”
“We are,” You replied happily, wiggling closer. “We’ve made it this far, haven’t we?”
“Still need to work on the house,” He said softly.
“True, but as long as we’re both in one piece everything else is just details,” You told him, shrugging slightly and tilting your head so he could rub his nose along your neck.
“Might have bitten too hard, babe,” He whispered, sounding concerned as he nudged your mark, causing you to hiss slightly.
You hummed, the hum turning to a moan as he flicked his tongue over the mark. “The door?”
“Yoongi is coming over, he picked up Micheal’s phone. Apparently Timothy was running a really high fever again.”
“Poor pup,” You whispered. “Human hospitals suck. They should go to the Sanctuary.”
“I think they are.”
“Wait, does that mean we should be getting dressed?”
“We’ve still got time. He was feeding Eunyeong breakfast and he said he needed to get her dressed after that. So, at least half an hour.”
You nodded. “Tae coming too?”
“If he’s already awake, probably. If not, then no.”
You sighed. “Better let me up, honey.”
He grumbled slightly, but placed another kiss on your shoulder before letting you go. “You start your new job next week, right?”
“Yes,” You answered, letting the blankets slip from your body and walking to the closet to pick your outfit. You didn’t have to go anywhere (you weren’t allowed to go anywhere) but you didn’t want to look like a bum when other members of the pack arrived. Not to mention it was great to tease Namjoon in the mornings.
“You’re still wobbling,” Namjoon said after a moment.
“You’re still staring,” You retorted playfully, tail swishing in happiness as you pulled out your desired clothes. You really did need to get dressed, you were starting to get goosebumps.
“You want your black bra?”
“Please.”
“Preference on—”
“Whichever you grab first,” You answered, catching the bra he tossed you. “Can you go get the muffin mixes from the top cabinet?
“Yeah, when did you want to reorganize the kitchen?”
“Possibly today.” You threw the sweater on and then sat down to put on socks. “Depends on what happens after your brothers get here.”
“Well, Tae usually enjoys spending time here, and we haven’t seen them much since they came down, so Yoongi will probably end up asleep on our couch and you’ll get to cuddle the kitten.”
You grinned, following into the kitchen and pulling out the mixing bowl to make the muffins. “Sounds like a perfect lazy day.”
He pressed a kiss to your cheek, then hopped onto an empty counter while you mixed the muffin mix and poured it into the muffin tin liners. “Yeah, that mark looks pretty bad. Sorry, baby.”
You shrugged. “Only hurts when you press on it, and even then it’s one of those pains that feels somewhat pleasurable.”
“Weird omega,” He whispered teasingly.
“Bashful alpha,” You retorted, closing the oven door and going over to him, leaning against his legs.
He leaned down and kissed you, slowly, a little lethargic.
Both of you jumped as the make-shift blockade for the doorway fell in.
You sighed. “Wouldn’t be so bad if the wind wasn’t coming from that direction, and if it didn’t have rain with it.”
He nodded. “They should be here soon and—”
The doorbell rang before he could finish.
You moved so he could go answer the door, not trusting your legs to get you that far and instead taking his spot on the counter.
Taehyung came in, obviously following his nose, the toddling following while holding onto his tail and looking fairly grumpy herself.
You grinned. “Morning!”
Taehyung grunted, and leaned against the counter next to you.
The kitten grabbed onto your feet.
You reached down and picked her up, setting her on your lap to cuddle her. “That’s quite the grumpy face, little one.”
“She didn’t get back to sleep after Micheal and Becca took Timothy to the doctors, and we gave her some medicine to help boost her immune system in case its contagious,” Yoongi explained, looking his usual level of tired, but staring at the door. “Namjoon…how?”
Namjoon rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. “Um…I”m not sure?”
You smiled as they went to inspect, resting your hand on Tae’s head. “I’ve got some banana nut muffins in the oven.”
“I love you. Namjoon, I love her!”
“She’s mine, Tae, you can only love her platonically.”
“Then I love her platonically.”
You giggled at the exchange. “They’ll be ready in a couple minutes.”
He finally moved, sitting on the counter across from you, then his eyes widened. “What did Joonie-hyung do to your neck?”
You shrugged a little. “It’s not as bad as it looks.”
He looked at you like you’d grown a third head.
You blinked. “It’s a mating mark, Taehyung.”
He turned bright red and looked away. “I forgot canines did that.”
“Yup.” You stroked the soft kitten ears. “Eunyeong’s fur is still baby-soft. I’m so jealous.”
“Right?!” He perked up again. “Yoongi-hyung got her some special fur shampoo that’s amazing! Costs way too much for me, but you know how he is with her.”
“He spoils in her ways that won’t spoil her personality, it is beyond adorable.” You pressed a cute kiss to her forehead.
Euny blinked up at you sleepily, huffing grumpily.
The timer went off and Taehyung pulled the muffins out for you, taking one and starting to dig into it.
Euny made a sound and opened her mouth like a little chick.
Taehyung shook his head. “Words, honey.”
“Pleeeeease?” She said, sweetly.
He grinned and got a bowl and put a muffin in it. “Little bites, baby.”
“Okay,” She said, still grumpy but holding the bowl and picking off bites from the muffin. She curled against you as she ate, tail flicking.
“So, you guys going to have kids?”
“Eventually, but I think we want to get a bit more done on this place, and spend a little bit of quiet time together before then. I mean, things are just settling down from the trials, and I’m off house-arrest at the end of the week, and I start my new job after that.” You shrugged. “We both agreed that we wanted to wait a while before having pups. Besides, shouldn’t you be pestering Jimin about kits?”
“Eh, he’s been so stressed between last years incident and moving and the wedding that I figure it’s a miracle he’s in one piece. Maybe next year.”
“You going to join Hoseok in the master-nanny business?”
“I wish. First we’d have to move back home. Besides, Hoseokie-hyung is probably going to be a teacher at the Sanctuary school at some point.” Taehyung’s tail playfully flicked open cabinets to inspect.
“Yoongi set a time frame for your visit?”
He shook his head.
“Want to help me reorganize the kitchen?”
He grinned and nodded.
Namjoon eventually got shooed away from helping when Yoongi almost had a replacement door dropped on his head, and he helped you and Tae—meaning the boys did the work while you supervised and held Euny who was giggling a little when her Uncles made faces at you, and subsequently at her.
When Yoongi was done, he joined you sitting on the counter and eating a muffin and watching the boys do your work for you.
But all of you got quiet when Yoongi got a call from Micheal.
Yoongi was pretty quiet, just replying to him. “Okay. Yeah, I’ll bring Euny in.” He rubbed his forehead looking worried. “Yeah. Okay, thanks.”
You watched him for a moment while he hung up.
“Well?” Tae asked when Yoongi had been quiet for too long. Frozen.
“Timmy has pneumonia,” Yoongi finally said. “They want to test Euny just to be safe.”
Taehyung drooped. “That’s terrible.”
Yoongi nodded. “Yeah. Alright. I can either leave you here or drop you off back home.”
Taehyung looked at Namjoon.
He shrugged. “Pretty sure we were planning on you staying here all day anyway. Whatever you want, Taehyung.”
“I’ll stay here, hyung. It’d be boring being at home with no one around.”
You kissed the kitten’s head, wondering if she did feel a little warm, before handing her over to Yoongi.
“I’m sure she’ll be fine, hyungie. If she does have it, then we know before it’s really set in and we can treat it accordingly.” Taehyung hugged Yoongi, then kissed Euny on the cheek. “I’d go with you—”
“No!” Yoongi and Namjoon shouted simultaneous.
“No, that’s okay, you stay far away from the doctors office,” Yoongi continued.
You giggled, hopping off the counter and falling into Namjoons arms when your legs didn’t work. “Good luck at the office.”
Yoongi glanced you over. “Namjoon, try not to put her back in the hospital.” He went toward the door.
You managed to get your footing again, but stayed in Namjoon’s arms.
Taehyung stretched after hearing the front door close. “So, what else needs to be done?”
“The things we don’t use a lot need to be put in the highest cabinets. But I have to unpack those still, so we’re pretty much done today. Movie time?”
“Movie time!” Taehyung agreed excitedly.
“I’ll make the popcorn.” You wobbled over to the counter and pulled out the popcorn.
“Really, though, Namjoon-hyung, maybe go easy on her next time.”
You laughed as Namjoon gave a flustered response, throwing the popcorn into the microwave. “For the record, I encouraged him to. Nothing like a good romp. And the ones that leave you wobbly the next day are the best.” You kissed Namjoon on the lips, wrapping your arms around his neck and watching him turn red.
“N-noona….” Taehyung objected, completely flustered. “I’m still here.”
“Hmm, true. Alright, I can stand Joonie. You guys go pick a movie.” You smoothed Namjoon’s shirt and turned your attention back to snacks because snacks were very important.
Snacks were very important.
———
“Thank you! Have a great day,” You told the customer, handing over their bag of sweets before going to replenish the cinnamon-sugar banana chips. They were popular with several hybrid species and with the remembrance day of the restriction of hybrids coming up, the shop had been fairly busy. It had become a custom to have a sort of communal meal, everyone bringing something to the table as a bunch of hybrids got together. Last year you’d spent it with a group of singles at a party hosted by some of the security staff.
Anyway, “Otter Perfection Sweets” had a steady stream of customers that were there to prepare for guests or being a guest. And since there was a wide selection of specialty sweets that were aimed toward hybrids, a large portion of your customers were either hybrids, or those buying for hybrids. But it was definitely different from your other job.
One, your boss was way better. She was sensible, yet fun, and very flexible about your schedule. She was very family oriented and so friendly that before you knew it she had memorized all of the names of your pack members and how they were related to your mate, and would frequently follow up on things that she heard about.
Not that you didn’t also know way more about her family than you expected to.
You’d been working there for a few weeks now, and already had dinner with her family—all of which, from her grandparents, siblings, and parents, lived in one house. Except her. She lived above the shop because,
“My sister is moving back in with them with her man and her eight pups. I love them to bits, but I also love having a full night’s rest. Besides, they’re going to come here all the time anyway.”
And you didn’t blame her one bit for moving out. Because her family did drop in all the time and depending on who it was it could get very lively in the small shop.
You helped a couple more customers, happy to see product being sold. You liked her. You liked her products. You liked this job.
“Y/n, can you refill the ice-cream freezer?”
“Yup,” You called back, hurrying to the back to get the tray of cartons out of the freezer and then bring it out.
You were so focused on straightening the shelf after filling it that you didn’t hear the person sneaking in until they spoke from directly behind you.
“You know, I’ve been in here a couple times, but you’re the most delicious looking thing I think I’ve seen so far.”
You flinched in surprise, turning to smack him down.
Namjoon grinned at you. “You were about to tell me off, weren’t you?”
Deja vu.
“Hi,” You whispered, grinning.
He leaned in and pressed a chaste kiss to your lips. “Hi. Why are you whispering?”
“Because I wanted two more seconds with you and if I said it louder she’d come out to say hello.” You giggled and wrapped your arms around his neck.
“Oh, she already saw me. Headed into the back so I could surprise you,” He replied at a normal volume. “Ready to go, baby?”
“Just need to do a few more things and clock out. While you’re waiting you should pick out those treats. Some for Jungkook since he’s spending his first summer away from home, some for Yoongi, Tae, and Eunyeong, and then the watermelon chips for the triplets birthday next week.”
“Aren’t they all coming for the triplets’ birthday?” Namjoon asked, frowning in thought.
“Yoongi has to work, Tae said he might come but he also found out that the art gala he’s supposed to go to is the night after and you know the trip takes several hours. And Jungkook got that job, so he doesn’t know if he’s going to be there or not. Either way, if we send the package tomorrow he should get it by the next day and the sentiment is still the same no matter when he gets it. Spit spot.” You waved him off and went to check out a customer.
Your boss came out to refill the truffle tray. “I give you December of next year before the two of you have pups, and that’s being pessimistic.”
You just laughed and closed out your drawer, taking it back to the office and locking it while bringing out her drawer. “I give you to August of next year before you have a serious relationship. And that’s being pessimistic.”
She rolled her eyes. “Sure, you just go find me someone who likes kids and knows how to balance work and fun and I’ll help you win that bet.”
“Don’t tempt me,” You replied in a sing-song voice and then skipped toward Namjoon. “No, baby, not the watermelon leather. The watermelon chips.”
“What’s the difference?” He looked confused as you changed out the bags.
“Texture.” You checked what else he had gotten, then led him up to the counter. “Anyway, how was work?”
“Eh, it was work. I’m not a fan of our current project, but what can you do? But I’m definitely ready to be home,” He answered, kissing your cheek. He slipped his arm around your waist, just handing you his wallet so you could take care of paying instead. He was breathing in your scent, trying to detox from a stressful day.
You smiled up at him, then took the bag of sweets, said goodnight to your boss and led the way out of the shop. “Last time we left my work together was the second time we’d met.”
He blinked a couple times and then smiled a dimple smile. “Wow. That was so long ago…and yet also a really short time ago.”
“We haven’t even been together a year,” You said, wrapping your arms around his waist as you walked.
“And what a year it’s been,” He said, huffing a laugh as he did. “But I knew when I smelled you that day…when you flirted so shamelessly with me, that you were the one for me. There was no one else.”
“I was shameless, wasn’t I!” You puffed up proudly. “I should get back to being shameless.”
“Only with me, baby,” He whispered smoothly. “Speaking of shameless….”
“When we get home you don’t want to wear clothes for the rest of the night?”
“Um…not what I was going to say…but I can roll with that as long as we’re in our room. Being active.”
“Deal, but I have to finish the care packages first. Then we can have fun.”
“Right. Care packages.” He got the car door for you. “Do I get one for work? And not being with you?”
“Hmm, you get to come home to your care package every day,” You reasoned, kissing him above the door and then climbing into the seat.
“What if that’s not enough to sustain me,” He asked, still holding the door open.
You hummed, pretending to think. “Then I suppose I better start working harder.”
He grinned and closed the door.
You watched him as he waited for a few cars to pass by so he could get to his side of the vehicle without getting hurt. He was wearing a suit, and loosening the tie in such an attractive manner that you wished the drive home was shorter.
Namjoon got in, adjusting his seat again and the mirrors.
So suave. So enchanting and romantic. The perfect, attractive man that you’d see as the male lead in a movie.
“How did I get such a perfect partner?” You asked softly.
He glanced at you, suddenly shy and bashful. “How did I get a lovely little wolf to join my pack as my mate?”
You thought about it. “Well, if I remember correctly, you were chasing after a pup. Something I hope to see again someday.”
He nodded, taking your hand. “Eventually, you will.”
“When we’re ready.”
“Exactly. Whenever we’re ready,” He agreed, looking at you for a moment before turning his gaze back to the road.
You settled into the seat, gazing at the road ahead, excitement bursting in your heart.

03 | gangsta, sweetpea
Notes:
Honestly, I do not know where I got the idea for this chapter beyond just.. Wanting to throw Sweetpea and Alyssa together in situations to see how it worked. I think it was cute? Probably not logical IRL, but this is fanfic. And some people just can’t deal with the smell of formaldehyde or dissections. Facts because I am one.. I think I might have gone a little overdramatic with some areas in how it played out, but I just decided to lean into it because it made things interesting.
Annnyway. another chapter absolutely noone asked for but I totally needed to write, apparently. Lmaooo.
Summary:
Opposites attract. But when they can’t fight that attraction any longer, will there be a comforting warmth, an inferno from the sparks, or a messy explosion?
Pairing:
Sweetpea x Andrews!OFC, Alyssa.
Warnings:
Angst. Slow burn. Eventual filth. Typical teenage drama. Embarassing situations. Boyfriends behaving like oblivious idiots. Pining. Language. Fighting / Violence. Going to go on a limb and say that this is kind of non canon compliant.
As far as this chapter goes.. The class did a dissection. But given the nature, I went as vague as possible in describing it. There’s mention of fainting and the fact that Alyssa wants to puke at one point, but beyond that, there’s really not much.

THREE.
I wasn’t expecting Toni to actually spare me a passing glance the next day, let alone look up from reapplying my makeup to find her standing behind me when I turned around after shutting my locker.
Reggie’s throat cleared and I felt him tense up almost immediately. I nudged him in the side, shaking my head “No” at him before he even got a chance to start.
But he went and did it anyway.
“What do you want?” Reggie spoke before I could.
I couldn’t resist the smirk that came when Toni flicked her eyes over him dismissively before deadpanning, “ I came to talk to Cherry. Not you. Pound sand.”
Reggie eyed me.
“I’ll catch up to you, Reg.”
He refused to budge and I felt my jaw clenching.
“I’m not leavin you by yourself. Not after what happened with the Ghoulie in the hall yesterday.” Reggie folded his arms over his chest. Speaking up with a calm smirk. “Whatever you gotta say to princess, you can say to me too.”
Toni studied him, unimpressed. “Where was this energy when a Serpent handled that Ghoulie you speak of, hm? Now you wanna play the protective boyfriend?”
I tensed a little, shooting her a pleading glance. She eyed me a second or two but luckily, she let the issue drop.
We started to walk towards the direction of our classrooms, talking about music and bands we’d seen live, basically continuing our conversation from the afternoon before when we’d been lounging on the bank down by the quarry.
“Hey, we’re gonna go hang out by the quarry this afternoon if you wanna come with again.” Toni slipped it in just as we got to the door of Biology. Reggie tensed even more, his gaze settling on me as if to ask what she meant by again.
I honestly didn’t give it a second thought, smiling and nodding, a lazy shrug. “Yeah. I mean the Vixens aren’t practicing and pretty much done all the stuff around my dad’s. Hey, remind me around lunch and I’ll go by my dad’s after school and grab that mix tape.”
“Definitely. I’ll see you later.” Toni smiled at me and gave Reggie a dismissive eye roll and as she walked away, Reggie spoke up. Calm and firm.
“Absolutely not. Are you out of your mind, babe? They’re in a gang. Is that where you were when you blew off school and practice yesterday afternoon? I thought you were at home. That prick Sweetpea wasn’t with you… Right?”
Reggie looked far less cocky when his eyes met mine. Almost as if he felt threatened by my choice to branch out. Stop losing myself in this person I was becoming. I’d talked to Archie the night before and Archie had basically told me that he’d been able to tell something was bothering me for weeks now, since even before Reggie and I became a thing. He thought I was homesick.
I’d explained to him how I’d been feeling out of place. Like an imposter because everyone in Riverdale either only knew the me I’d been presenting since I moved back, or remembered me as his younger sister only and that it bugged me because I wasn’t the same person they remembered or were expecting.
He basically told me that as long as being myself didn’t mean sneaking off to frat parties and older boyfriends or anything dangerous, if it made me happier, I should try just being myself more. He seemed to think that I might be surprised by how people reacted to it and sadly, from the looks of it, my own boyfriend was not going to be one of those who welcomed any sign of change.
,, because when you’re truly being yourself, you know he’d never be able to control you, let alone begin to be able to keep up with you. The balance of power is off now and he’s insecure.”
It worried me, more than I cared to admit.
I didn’t want anything to come between us. I didn’t want to fight with him all the time like we’d been doing lately. I just wanted to enjoy being his girlfriend.
“What if I was, huh? They’re normal. You talk like they’re all hardened criminals or something.”
“What’s this like.. A random act of charity?” Reggie eyed me, searching my face for any hint of an answer.
,, maybe the random act of charity is the time I’ve been spending pretending to be someone I’m clearly not.” the thought came but I stopped myself from giving voice to it. I sighed and shook my head, disappointed that Reggie was having such a hard time grasping the fact that I could be friends with whoever I wanted… Not excluding Toni Topaz.
Because we’d just kind of clicked. And I actually wanted to be friends with her.
“Reggie, if you really care about me, you’ll lay off this.” I said it as patiently as I could.
“It’s because I care about you, princess, that’s exactly what I’m not gonna do. They’re dangerous. Half of ‘em have a rap sheet as long as this hallway! What if they do somethin and you happen to be out with them, huh? How are you gonna explain that you were just there and not taking part?”
“Do you have to die on this hill?” I asked, giving him a pleading look.
The last thing I wanted right now was yet another argument with him. But the way he kept assuming he knew me like the back of his hand was starting to get exhausting. I wasn’t that same shy sweet little pushover I’d been when we were kids. I mean, I was still the same girl who hid with him in a tunnel on the playground and split a Hostess cupcake when his father came to collect him and happened to see him mess up a pass while just playing a casual game of toss the football with my brother and the other boys and started to yell and cut him down in front of everyone… I was still her, but I was also different... In so many ways.
“I’m willing to, yeah. Why’s this matter so much?” Reggie studied me intently.
I swallowed hard and took a deep breath or two to calm myself down. “It matters because I’m not the girl you think I am, okay? You’ve had this image of me built up in your head since I moved back and I’m sorry to say it, I’m not her anymore. I’m not the quiet little kid who used to hide behind my brother or tag along with you guys to play in the park like a lost puppy.”
“You’re not a Serpent, either, princess.” Reggie explained, a coaxing tone as he raised a hand, resting it against my cheek. “That’s one thing I like about you, okay? You were always the one to take in the strays. All I’m saying is there’s a time and a place for that and now is not the time. They don’t like us any more than we like them.”
“Don’t lump me in with the rest of you.” I glared up at him. “ As far as your earlier question as to whether this is a random act of charity, no. It’s actually not. I enjoyed talking to Toni yesterday.”
Reggie’s brows raised. “Why?”
I shrugged. “We have a lot in common.”
“Yeah, not likely.”
I took a deep breath. Trying to stay patient. Trying not to push this conversation even further into argument territory.
Because I knew that despite the way it felt, Reggie was only doing this because he cared. He didn’t really have any ill intent. He was merely being overprotective. Probably to make up for the rough time we’ve had being on the same page for nearly three weeks now.
Because I’d be lying to myself if I tried to pin all our fighting lately on the fact that Sweetpea was my Biology partner and Reggie was jealous because this started before that. I’d put it off to tension then, but maybe it was just me, starting to realize that no matter how hard I tried, things just weren’t working.
Before that thought could rear it’s ugly head again, I shoved it back down.
We walked into class and I sat down in my seat. Drumming my pencil against the desktop.
From beside me, Sweetpea spoke up. I didn’t have to be looking at him to know he was smirking when he made the remark, either. “Trouble in paradise, cherry?”
“Sweetpea, not today.” I muttered quietly, fixing my gaze intently on the open text book between us. The teacher rolled in the specimens we were supposed to dissect and my stomach rolled as the scent of formaldehyde filled the air.
I could feel my breakfast creeping back up my throat slowly. I took a deep breath.
That was probably the first way I fucked up.
As soon as we got our specimen, I grimaced. Gingerly picking up the scalpel. I could feel myself getting paler in the face by the second. Sweetpea grabbed the scalpel from me and eyed me with a brow raised. Pointing away from us. “If you’re gonna hurl, do it towards that side. Not into vomit on my leather.”
“I’m fine.”
Except, oh no. No I was not fine.
And the scent of formaldehyde was so thick in the air that I honestly felt a little dizzy…
XXX
She almost looked green.
Sweetpea shot a glance back towards the back of the classroom where Mandy and Reggie were absorbed in their conversation… More to the point, Reggie was so caught up in Mandy pouring on the dramatics that he hadn’t spared a single glance towards his actual girlfriend. The thought had Sweetpea’s jaw clenching tight. Alyssa’s hands shook as she picked up the scalpel.
“Give me that.” Sweetpea reached out, taking the scalpel. Because shaking hands and a sharp object in their grasp was never a good idea. He’d been around enough to know that if the person with the knife had a shaky hand, more often than not, things tended to get messy.
,, right and this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that even the thought of her injured kind of makes you physically ill lately. You did move that entire fight between the team and your boys to a vacant lot because you weren’t willing to risk her rushing out to try and stop it and getting hurt by somebody...” his mind taunted him, but he shoved the thought right out of his head. And then more thoughts came.
Like a replay of the argument he’d caught the tail end of between Alyssa and Reggie as he shoved past them to take his own seat. The way she actually didn’t fold under the pressure of Reggie’s argument, but stood her ground instead. Admitting that she enjoyed talking to Toni and she wasn’t going to stop just because it made Reggie Mantle uncomfortable.
Maybe he’d written her off a little too quickly.
He made the first cut in the specimen sitting between them and he glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. Luckily he happened to, because he saw her swaying a little right as the color drained from her face completely and she started to slump just a little. He grabbed her up quickly and shoved through the aisle, pushing open the door of the classroom to step out into the hallway, completely ignoring the threat of yet another detention from their Biology teacher.
“Did you not see her about to pass out?” Sweetpea snapped as he peered back in the door of the classroom. Their teacher stepped out into the hallway, giving him a firm warning look as he pointed to the classroom and Sweetpea clenched his fist, grumbling. Lingering for a few seconds before the teacher spoke up in a crisp tone, “Inside now. Unless you enjoy a month of Saturday detention.” before turning attention back to Alyssa, trying to make sure she was alright.
Alyssa met his gaze over the teacher’s shoulder, flashing him a weak smile, giving him a pleading look as the teacher warned him a third time to go back into class. “Sweetpea just go, I’m fine. I’ll be back inside soon.”
Sweetpea eyed her a second or two and finally stepped into the classroom, shutting the door behind him. Turning to find himself body to body with an angry Reggie Mantle. Glaring at him.
“I know you didn’t touch my girl, Serpent.”
“Would you rather me touch her or have her crack her head on the floor, dog?” Sweetpea stood taller, cracking his knuckles. Nodding to Reggie’s lab partner, who was grumbling and pouting, rolling her eyes because all the attention had been taken off her. Sweetpea stepped closer, smirking at Reggie, “Mad because you weren’t paying attention and another guy picked up your slack, asshole?”
Reggie went to shove him but the teacher’s throat cleared from behind the two, putting an end to the confrontation.
“This isn’t over, Serpent.”
“ I can do this all year, Bulldog. Just gives me the joy of kicking your ass over and over.”
“Enough you two!” the teacher yelled, silencing both males. “You two can settle whatever this is off of school grounds. In your own time. Understood?”
Sweetpea smirked, rolling his shoulders. “Gladly.” he muttered as he stormed over to his seat.
Alyssa made her way back in and over to the seat beside him, not looking at anyone in the room instead, burying herself in the text. Letting Sweetpea make the cuts as she pointed out the parts of their specimen’s anatomy they had to label and show.
XXX
“Are you okay, princess?”
“I’m fine, Reggie. For the thousandth time. I guess the smell of formaldehyde got to me. It happened at my old school once in eighth grade. I’m just embarrassed.” I answered. The scent was still stuck in my nose. It drifted through the entire hallway.
I knew I should’ve gotten my dad to write me a note so I could go and sit with the other students who’d chosen to opt out. It slipped my mind.
From across the table, Mandy spoke up. “ What was worse? That freak putting his hands on you or almost fainting in front of everybody?” with a smirk as she gazed at me.
Reggie tensed and I gave Mandy a dirty look. “Almost fainting in front of everybody. Hands down. Can we not call him a freak? He’s not in a side show. And he’s not any different than the rest of us.”
“He’s from South Side. Of course he’s different.” Mandy looked at me as if I’d grown two additional heads. I rolled my eyes and went quiet.
Irritated by her remarks.
Irritated by her in general.
Reggie cleared his throat, taking a bite of his burger. Nodding to mine. Coaxing me to eat. I shook my head, glancing at the burger in disgust. “I’m good.”
“You need food, princess.”
“If the drama queen doesn’t want to eat, Reggie, don’t make her. She could stand to lose a few pounds anyway.”
I tensed. Under the table, my fists clenched. Since I moved back to Riverdale, Mandy’s had it in for me. And she doesn’t bother hiding it.
And I was sick of playing nice. Looking stupid when I know what she’s about.
It wouldn’t have flown in my old school, why was I letting it fly here?
Was it really worth it to just come off like a doormat? I was really questioning my logic on that front a lot lately, it seemed.
I smirked at her and bit my lip. The smirk was replaced with a smile as I spoke up. “In that case, maybe you should skip the ice cream. Since we’re talking about losing a few pounds here. Just trying to help.”
Mandy’s jaw dropped and I shrugged, going back to my cell phone to scroll my Snapchat. Checking the stories of my old friends from my school in Chicago. Responding to a few snaps they’d sent me.
“ Mandy you’re so fuckin rude.” Reggie spoke up, surprising me. I kept my gaze fixed on my phone and Mandy shrugged as if his criticism rolled right off her. “I was just trying to be helpful.”
“You were being a bitch.” Reggie grumbled, fixing his eyes on me. He leaned in and asked quietly, “You wanna get outta here?”
I eyed him, biting my lip. Something told me if I hadn’t had my little incident in the lab, Reggie wouldn’t be trying so hard right now.
,, maybe that’s not true, you don’t know that..” my mind argued.
“It’s okay. I don’t like her enough to give a shit if I’m being honest.” I muttered, making Reggie chuckle quietly and smirk at me. “That’s my girl. It’ll be okay. People are totally gonna forget by last period, you’ll see.”
“It is what it is.” I shrugged, eager for the conversation to switch topics.
XXX
Toni caught up to Alyssa in the hallway, tapping her shoulder. Alyssa turned around, smiling. For a second or two, Toni thought she’d beg off. Change her plans under pressure. She rolled her eyes at Reggie when their gazes met. “Ready to go?”
“Yeah! Just give me a second.”
Reggie’s facial expression told the tale. He was not even remotely happy with being stood up.
“Babe, you were gonna watch me practice.. Remember?” Reggie butted in, pouting at her. reaching out to pull her close to him. Alyssa hugged him and gazed up at him, biting her lip, a patient look on her face.
Toni watched their interactions with amusement. The panic was plain to see on Reggie’s face. She found herself scowling at him. The guy was a fuckboy. For the life of her, she hoped for Alyssa’s sake the whole interest in him was just a phase because guys like that only hurt people...
“Reggie, I can watch you tomorrow. It’s just one afternoon.” Alyssa held firm, surprising Toni. Maybe she hadn’t been wrong to trust her gut like Sweetpea and Fangs insisted she was going to be proven to be.
After a whispered exchange of heated words, Alyssa jogged over, grumbling and rolling her eyes at the whole thing. Smiling at her. “Hey, if you want, we can stop by my dad’s together. Oh and the construction site. I usually take him a snack when I get in.”
“Aww, that’s cute.” Toni gave her a gentle but teasing smile, nodding. “Let’s go.”
They took off, falling back into conversation. Losing track of everything else.
After stopping by Alyssa’s to pick up the food for her dad and the mix tape she’d promised to lend Toni, they found themselves wandering around. Flopping on the grass at the park, watching the clouds roll overhead.
“ What made you join the Vixens anyway?”
“Cheryl strongarmed me into it. They needed a gymnast. I used to hate the cheerleaders at my old school.”
“ You’re the only halfway cool Vixen I’ve met so far.” Toni admitted, shrugging.
Alyssa stood, holding out her hand. Pulling Toni off the grass. “Let’s do something.”
“What?”
“I don’t know. What is there to actually do in Riverdale if we’re being honest?” Alyssa joked, making them share a laugh.
“Oh.. Oh.. no, you’d probably hate that idea.”
“No, what?”
“There’s a Mortal Kombat machine in the Wyrm…”
“Pretty sure Fangs and Sweetpea would be thrilled about me showing up there.” Alyssa mulled it over before smirking a little. “Okay, let’s go. It beats absolutely not shit to do here.”
“Don’t let them get to you. They’ll be assholes until they warm up to you.”
“Sweetpea confuses me? Like.. I know he’s being a jerk over half the time, then he does something like he did in Biology this morning and I don’t know what to think.. Anyway, I need to just not worry about it either way.” Alyssa tried to dismiss it, but Toni smirked to herself.
Determined not to just let her dismiss it.
Because any idiot could see what was going on.
Or she could, at least.
“No, what do you mean?”
“You know what I mean… Sometimes I feel like.. I don’t know… Like he’s trying too hard to be an asshole?”
“Oh no, he’s an asshole. Mega grouch. But you’re right. He does have his moments.” Toni kept things vague enough that she wasn’t putting her best friend Pea in any compromising positions, but she hoped that she said enough to get Alyssa really thinking.
It wasn’t like they were close enough friends just yet that Toni could go and tell her that she just needed to open her eyes. Pick a better boyfriend, because Reggie Mantle only liked the idea of her. Or the her that he’d known years ago from what she’d been hearing around school.
,, not to mention there’s the whole conversation you happened to overhear about there being a bet between Reggie and some Chuck asshole about getting in her pants..” the thought came but Toni shoved it down. Because how did you go about telling someone something like that?
Especially when you really didn’t know them well at all.
She didn’t want to lose a friend she was only just getting to know yet. She just needed to come up with a way to break it to Alyssa so that Alyssa understood. And wasn’t hurt or embarrassed or angry. So that Alyssa believed her.
Because she was disgusted with the fact that the guy had done that in the first place. The fact that she’d had the misfortune of overhearing only made things worse...

Stress Relief
Alright. This damn band and fandom has got the best of me finally.
Haven't written in over 10 years. Definitely never written smut before.
I've given in! There are pages and pages of smut notes in my journals, phone, and computer so I guess this is my new hobby in quarantine.
Relatively unedited so apologies there.
Yell at me here, or yell at me on AO3 under the same name.
Also I have a very limited knowledge of how the hell this cursed site works despite being on it for most of its existence. So if there's shit I didn't tag correct here let me know.
Also Tumblr apparently hates making the italicized bits appear here so I’ll reblog this in a sec with the AO3 link if you, like me, really like seeing the emphasis :)
I am otherwise too lazy currently to figure it out or fix it and I’m already reposting this since Tumblr also apparently hates outside links! Thanks Hell Site.
STRESS RELIEF
He’s been working on this project for a week straight and as usual it’s cutting into personal hours. Though that doesn’t faze him, scribbling notes in the margin of this current translation and completely forgetting to call for dinner. It’s 10:30 at night and I’ve brought him ever meal today as well as coffee multiple times. At this point it’s half just so I can make sure he’s still awake and breathing.
His dinner looks untouched and he’s got ink on his cheek. I don’t even think he noticed me come in until I was right behind his chair with my hands on his shoulders. He only startles a bit and I lean forward to peek at his progress. “You’ve gotten far today” I note, “Though dinner was over two hours ago you know.”
He sighs sitting back against me. “I know Tesoro, I know. This one is just.....very difficult. And she wants it earlier than the rest.” He drops the pen and stretches his fingers. “If I can get this one to her before Friday I think we can have a few days off finally.”
It would be a relief for us both to have a few days off. He squirms as I press at the knots in his shoulder.
"I will literally stand guard outside this office to fend people off if it will help. I was starting to think I might have to tie you up somewhere to keep you from coming into the office this weekend.” He breathes in sharply once and there's a moment of stillness before he’s laughing quietly. Interesting.
I’m solidly around the front side of his desk before I notice the flush on his face. Double interesting.
The last paper in front of him has been moved aside in favor of the dinner plate. He’s frowning at it. The dish isn’t one that would be particularly appetizing cold. “I think......perhaps a trip to the kitchen might serve us better?” I offer. “You can find something better than that and I can find something for desert. I think Papa mentioned there was pie tonight.”
Pie makes a good dinner.” He says with a quirk of the eyebrow. Problem solved.
———
“Hey!” I gasp as his teeth scrape down my neck. “Hey, I told you, none of that tonight. I have a ton of important meetings tomorrow. You know, the kind with people from Outside This Church whom I need to view me as respectable, buddy.” He isn't looking at me but growls a little against my skin.
I tangle my hands in his hair and tug sharply back to meet his wild eyes with mine. “No biting.” “You’re gonna have to save those hickeys for tomorrow, Cardinal...”
He’s adorably huffy about it but also doesn’t falter as he ruts against me. His hips grind sharply into my thighs, pressing me hard down into the cushions of his couch. His arms have me caged in below him and he rests his forehead against mine with a low moan.
At some point we’ll have to decide if we’re moving to a bed, or at least stopping long enough to take off literally any clothing instead of writhing on the furniture like teenagers. It’s so good this way though.
I came by to drop off the last few papers for him to finish and somehow convinced him they could be done in the morning. I meant to also convince him to come have another late dinner in the kitchens but he's in a mood and I can't complain. Having him over me, desperate and needy is better than any drug. I busy myself with the buttons on his jacket and shirt, impatient to get my hands into his chest hair. He hums as I run my fingers through it, and lower. His mouth is at my ear, his nose in my hair. I tug at his belt as he arches over me.
“We should go go to bed” he whispers “we should go to bed so I can fuck you into the weekend. I want to wrap you around me and make you cum until you can’t remember your name”. The words coming out of his mouth are getting deep and breathy. That voice.
Even his perfectly normal, reasonable Latin lectures make me want to get on my knees for him. I'm pretty certain the whole class feels that way. Technically, I know I’m not the only one he sleeps with either but recently I seem to have lucked out.
“You can’t” I growl back as he presses me down. “As much as I’d love to have you buried in me from now until Sunday, you still have 'homework' for tomorrow and I.... I can’t bag out of my important meetings. Sister will literally have me murdered if I leave her alone with those delegates.”
He moans low and deep grabbing at my thigh to pull me further under him, tighter against him. We press back and forth rocking against each other and making out. He’s driving against me over and over in a way that will have me undone very shortly. I have to bury my face in his shoulder to keep my whimpers quiet. Office hours are over but the door isn’t locked and Ghouls have a way of showing up when shit is about to get good.
I'm starting to lose it. “Please, Copia, please, pleaseplease” I beg. He grinds into me slower and slower pressing closer and longer and I think I could die from needing to cum. His breath is in my ear choppy and hot. Little wines, murmurs spilling from his mouth as he gets closer to the edge.
My body arcs up against him, my hands trapped against his chest as an orgasm washes over me. Head thrown back into the cushion I cry out when he sucks at the skin at my collar. I’m gasping as I come down. And then I realize.
Yanking my hands from between us to grab at his head. “COPIA, Satanus! What the fuck did I just say!” He’s a bit of a mess this close to an orgasm and only whines at me when I scold him. His rhythm is getting lost now and though I'm mildly pissed about the bite, I don’t think there’s a better time to test my new interesting theory than now.
I wind the fingers of my left hand tight into his hair and grab harshly at his hips with my right. “Bite me again and see what happens Cardinal. Don’t make me tie you down next time.”
He comes hard. Face buried in my collarbone despite my hard grip on his hair. He’s arched so hard into me I think I’ll be feeling it well into next week. We collapse slowly into the couch. It’s hot and sweaty not to mention the utter mess he's just made. Whatever. He must own 20 pairs of those black pants anyways.
I stroke his hair and laugh softly into it as he tries to regain some steadiness of breath. “Well then, Cardinal.” I arch my eyebrow at him and he's absolutely blushing. He won't quite make eye contact and I can't keep this crooked smirk off my face. He buries his face back against me and grumbles “Maybe time for a real dinner, Tesoro?” as the office door opens. A silver face peeks through, checking the desk and then turning to see us tangled on the couch. “Oh! Sorry, boss. Just, uh, making sure the, uh, lights were off in here. Yeah.” “But um, never mind if you’re still in here working!” The voice fades as the face retreats quickly.
Copia makes a tired sound. “Ghouls.”
———
The free weekend has been axed.
Delegates from the Unitarian Church apparently liked our pitch enough that they decided to hang around for a few days and view the abbey in it’s working state. On the one hand it’s great. Not completely bonkers church allies would be incredibly helpful to us. But I'm mentally tapped out from the socializing. Copia too, has been dragged into the fray. Unlike our Third Papa he can be counted on to treat our guest well without shamelessly flirting with each and every one of them. Unitarian Universalists might not immediately kick a bunch of Satanists out of church club but they still probably view married couples as a little less fair game than Terzo does.
They leave just in time for us to jump right in on the next round of translations. Some books from our archives can only be opened for a few nights a year or a decade. Some can only be opened for a few hours at a time, or only in the perfect humidity, or only by a woman, or a ghoul, or Papa. It’s a particular kind of puzzle game to schedule the translations of these texts. Plus very few people can translate them at all let alone as quickly as the Cardinal.
Imperator schedules, I ferry book and papers. He translates. I return books and papers and organize translations by type and date so we can digitize them later. It’s part of the push to get this church into a modern century. Making an effort to have other church allies is as well. Nihil is totally against it even though his sons are all for it. Or maybe that’s because his sons are all for it.
Everyone is tired. Everyone is busy. The congregation is much bigger than it used to be but still there isn't a lot of down time. We've got a horde of siblings at our disposal to help with all the cleaning, data entry, filing, etc. but someone still needs to steer the ship.
It turns out that managing people is a pain in the ass and regretfully I'm good at it.
Thankfully I still end up spending most of my day filing and organizing piles. It's boring but methodical and leaves me with enough brain space to let my mind rest or wander as it chooses.
I'm deep into sorting notes from the early 30's so we can see if anything matches up with books from that era but my mind has wandered back to the Cardinal's ass in his red pants.
He stepped away from the monstrous paper pile for coffee this morning but two moments later was back leaning across the front of his desk to scribble a note in the margins of whatever he's trying to decipher. It's a very nice ass.
It's been over a week since we've been able to do anything more than snag a kiss between meals, sleep, and work. It's fine, except that it really, really isn't. Stress relief is important. And doing it myself is currently feeling a little subpar when the alternative is so incredibly attractive.
Also. There's this whole other aspect of him that I really want to get another glimpse of. We have been mostly on equal footing or he's been in charge since we've been seeing each other, but I know that's not all there is. Not just because of the way he blushes when I boss him around but also because of that dinner months ago where a wine drunk Terzo whispered in my ear all sorts of things about how delightful and versatile a bed partner Copia is.
I think I want to know all the ways to make him whimper and beg.
Unbeknownst to him, Thursday night we're going to catch a break. Imperator is headed out of town with a few of the Emeritus family for some swearing in of a little sect or two a few cities over. Copia and I have been excused to finish up one really time sensitive book and they're going to be gone for two whole days.
Of course, I know that the book is finished already. He did the last bit around 2am and I just couldn't bring myself tell her in case she decided to dump another stack on us as she walked out the door. Two days isn't enough for a real vacation but it's definitely enough for a little rest and stress relief.
______
I feel like I'm laying a trap. Getting us out of work, convincing him to come back to his rooms to change for dinner.
There's a tiny unmarked bottle of lube tucked on the hallway table next to the Baphomet statue where he hangs his keys. Normally he never looks at that table, just drops his keys across it, puts his hat on Baphomet's head, and comes to collapse on the couch or bed.
There he is though, looking at the bottle curiously, fingers starting to unbutton the top of his jacket unconsciously as his brow creases. I have to move fast. I walk up and my hands take over for his. Unbuttoning the jacket and pushing it back over his shoulders but not taking it off of him. I push at his chest gently until he steps back all the way against the heavy wood door.
"Tesoro, I... " He looks down at my face as I'm unbuttoning his shirt. My hands work downwards and I see as he completely forgets about the bottle. "Hello there" he says with a smile and slides his hands into my hair to turn my face up towards him. I get an arched eyebrow, a little half smile, and then, a little hitched breath as I tug open his belt.
I lean in to rub my nose under his jaw and breathe him in. His arms come up to pull me close and I can feel the rumble in his chest. We stand for a moment in peace, enjoying the closeness before I tug his hands down to lay flat against the door. "Keep them there, alright?" I whisper in his ear.
He breathes out an unsteady yes while I lay kisses down his neck. His trousers are undone and he hums through his teeth as I take him out and stroke him. Lightly over and over. Teasing gently. His head is back with eyes closed which is perfect.
When I ease my lube slick hand down his dick his whole body jolts and his eyes fly open to stare at me. "Oh! Ohhh...." Hands tight against the door his hips push forward into my hand and he screws his eyes closed again as I stroke him a second time.
"F...uck. Oh. Fuck. Tesoro..." he whimpers and the sound strikes deeply hot at the center of me.
I keep my touch firm but slow. A steady torcherous pace. I wonder how long I can keep him here. Trapped between my body and the door, gasping and moaning as I tease him higher and higher.
I want to talk to him but I'm a little afraid this will end too soon if I do so I settle for brushing my lips across his, across his face, against his sideburns until he's begging. "Tesoro, pleeease. PPlease. Ah. Ah. Oh, lord, Tesoro. I need....ah, please."
His face is plastered to my neck and I dig my free hand into his hair to hold him there. He hasn't moved his hands an inch though I see them tremble and grasp.
"You're doing so well, yeah?" I whisper. "You sounds so good like this. I love it. I love hearing how badly you need this." I can feel his knees knock a little as I speak to him. "I've been thinking about this for weeks. Making you come undone for me like this. Did you think I hadn't noticed how pink you get when I tell you what to do?"
"Ah, Satanus. Por favor...." he wines. "por favor....." His hips are trying to press forward, but I've got him tight against the door. I up the pace of my strokes until he can hardly speak. Low gasps and whimpers escape him as I bring him higher.
"Are you close love? I need you to tell me when you're close. I want you to tell me when you’re going to cum." That pulls a little wail from him and he gasps, crushing his face deeper into my neck. "Oh, Santanus. Oh, Lucifer. "
"You gonna beg me, sweetheart?" I husk in his ear. "Come on. Say please?"
He doesn't manage it, curling tight over my body as he comes. His arms forget the door to crush me against him. Fingers grip my back and shoulder so hard it almost hurts and I can hear his breath stop completely for a moment. I let him hold me, pressing myself tight up against him, toes to head.
It hardly feels like he is going to stand on his own so I just clean him up with a conveniently located cloth and pepper his face with little kisses. I brush the damp hairs back from his brow and when he lifts his eyes to mine he still flushes a even brighter red.
I must look entirely too pleased with myself because he quickly closes them again and lets his head fall back against the door with a solid "thunk."
"Fuck", he breathes, "I...ah, just.....Fuck."
I am pleased with myself. Humming softly I tuck him back into his trousers and pull the edges of his collar down so I can kiss him long and hard before patting his chest and moving away back into his rooms. He doesn't follow me and I look back to see him still leaning against the door staring.
"Dinner?" I ask with a bright innocent smile.
He growls with narrowed eyes and launches himself into the room. Shrieking with laughter I race to the other side of his couch. "Come here..." he murmurs. And when I don't move he crooks a finger at me. "Topolino. Come on. Come. Here. "
It's so goddamn hot. I want to.
But.
"Make me." It's impossible to keep a grin off my face knowing that the whole wing of this abbey is definitely going to hear about when he catches me. I have the advantage of steady feet, but his eyes are dark and his smile dangerous.
I am super, super fucked.

If You See Her
At the end of the day, we don’t know the person unless they show us who’s beneath the mask.
Chapter 1: Natasha Romanoff always believed that love was for children, so she stuck with just having fun. With her friends being a bit disappointed by her type of living, they couldn’t really do anything except for the occasional scolding. Can she keep her game going for long?
As I said before, I’ll be making this a series if it’s good, or if I feel like it, who knows? Also, I won’t be just putting characters in at the same time so don’t expect all three of the girls to be in this chapter automatically.
Criticism and suggestions are welcome. Also, tell me if you want me to tag you for future parts.
Picture is not mine.
Not her room.
Random bed.
Another stranger.
It was like that most days she thought as she finally got dressed and exited the blonde’s apartment. She was nice, pretty too, but she was just too goddamn talkative that Natasha found it irritating. She grimaced at the thought.
I hope she doesn’t call.
Even if she did though, Nat knew how to deal with that. Ignoring her toys was something that was almost second nature for her. But if they were persistent, she was good with pretending she didn’t know them.
Checking her phone for the time, Natasha sighed before she hailed a cab and headed back to her apartment. Clint had texted her, reminding her that they had a meeting with Tony and the others in the evening, which she’d forgotten when she came into the club last night.
When she arrived, the redhead fished out her keys and quietly entered. She knew that Wanda hated it whenever she came home after her one night stands. Because unlike Natasha, Wanda is a hopeless romantic. They were opposites, but that was how their friendship worked.
So when Natasha stepped into the apartment and the smell of coffee wafted into her nose, she knew what was to come. “You really have to stop that.” With a sigh accompanied by an eye roll, Nat left her shoes at the shoe rack and headed for the fridge while Wanda was making breakfast.
“Why don’t you go out with me next time and we find you someone?” The redhead quipped, making the brunette scoff while flipping a pancake. “I’d rather not have an STD, thank you very much.” The younger girl retorted before she started to put the pancakes to two plates.
See, the pair were best friends, both growing up and meeting each other in Russia. Natasha had also met Pietro, Wanda’s twin brother though they looked nothing like each other when Wanda had brown hair and green eyes while Pietro was blonde with blue eyes. When they moved to New York, however, he had gone and wanted a place of his own, a couple months after the three were living together. I need some guys around me, not just girls. Wanda would shake her head whenever she remembered.
He trusted Wanda to be fine, also she had Natasha with her, so it was all good for him.
“Hey, I’m healthy. And it’s not like I go out every night.” Natasha defended as she filled herself a glass of juice just as Wanda finished fixing the plates and placed them on the table. Natasha gave her a quick thanks before she started eating. “I’m just saying that I’m worried. The others, are too. What if the next time, the person you stay with was actually a psychopath?” Wanda frowned at the thought of her best friend getting hurt.
Natasha snorted. “You guys know that I can take care of myself, right?” She pointed out. “That’s not that point, Nat.” Wanda groaned as she rubbed her temples before the older woman relented. “Fine. I’ll be careful.”
“Thank you.”
~~~~~~~~~~~
“Over here!” Wanda smiled brightly as she tugged Natasha to where the rest of their friends were waiting. When they were close enough, Wanda was quick to latch on to her brother, nearly squeezing him to death.
“Okay, okay! I missed you, too, so please don’t kill me!” Pietro patted her back and she let him go, laughing as she did. “I’m sorry. It’s just been a while since I saw you.” She apologized before turning to greet the rest.
Natasha ruffled the boy’s hair before she hugged Clint. “So, who were you with last night?” He asked and Natasha shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t remember. Carly? Anna? I don’t keep track.” Bucky rolled his eyes at the response. “Jesus, you’re worse than Tony.”
“Hey! I’ve changed!” The billionaire exclaimed.
“Shut it, Stark.” The redhead flipped him off. “She hasn’t texted or called you?” Bruce asked, none of them were really surprised with her spending the night with a random girl. “She texted a few times, asking me where I was, when we could meet, but eh.”
“That bad?” Steve raised his brows. “Not really bad, but she wouldn’t shut up.” Wanda piped up from next to her brother. “Her words, not mine.” She added when everyone looked at her. “Well, anyway, tonight isn’t about my sex life. Where’s the birthday girl?” Natasha shifted the topic as she turned to Tony.
“She went to call Rhodey and Sam since they’re almost here, and she has a friend tagging along.” Tony answered with a light wave of his hand. “Friend? This is the first I’ve heard of it.” Vision mumbled as he cocked his head to the side. “Yeah, what friend?” Clint added.
Tony realized his mistake and silently cursed before shaking his head. “She’s, uh, Pepper’s friend in middle school. Pepper ran into her yesterday when we were at the park and, yeah. They talked then being the great boyfriend that I am, thought why not let her come along. Pepper was over the moon, I swear.” He explained before checking his watch.
“Is she hot?” Pietro grinned making Wanda smack his arm. “What? Nat was thinking that too!” He defended while pointing at the redhead who held an amused expression. “I don’t ask. I wait and see.” She smirked while Tony shook his head. “Guys, come on. This is Pepper’s friend. Do not scare her off.”
PIetro and Natasha shared a look, making both Wanda and Clint shake their heads. “Who said anything about scaring her?”
“You are insufferable.” Steve sighed before he saw Sam and Rhodey coming closer. “Hey, sorry, we’re late.” Rhodey apologized as he dusted himself off. “What was the hold up?” Vision questioned as he shook his hand. “I bumped into this girl and stuff happened. Pepper was there though and told us to go ahead while she helped her.” Sam said while rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.
After a few more minutes, Pepper finally arrived, talking with a girl none of them knew. She had h/l h/c and bright e/c eyes. She was wearing a light blue sweater, skinny jeans that was a bit ripped and a pair of Vans. Comfortable but presentable.
Natasha felt her grin growing as she eyed the girl. Clint nudged her from the side when he noticed and shook his head. “You heard Tony.” He warned her. “What? I’m not doing anything.”
Yet.
“Oh! It’s you. Look, I’m really sorry for earlier.” Sam quickly said and the girl smiled while waving a hand. “Oh, no, it’s okay. I mean, I planned on getting ripped jeans anyway.” She joked.
The girl then turned and her eyes found Tony. “Hey Mr. Stark.” She waved as he chuckled and rolled his eyes. “I told you, call me Tony. Any friend of Pepper’s is a friend of mine. Unless you’re trying to smuggle drugs or you’re a terrorist.” The girl grinned lightly before she pretended to think. “Oh, then I should really get going. Pep, it was nice seeing you again.”
Pepper rolled her eyes at the two before she smiled at the girl. “You guys have met for one day and you’re already acting like you’ve known each other your whole lives.”
A light cough and someone clearing their throat caught the three’s attention and they all turned to the group. “Oh! Right.” Pepper grabbed the girl’s hand. “Guys, this is Y/n.”
There was a chorus of ‘hey’s and ‘hello’s as the girl waved politely. “It’s nice to meet you. So far, I only know names since that’s all these two have told me so it’d be nice to finally be able to put faces on them.” She told them before Tony called for their attention so hey can head into the restaurant.
“She is hot.” Pietro mumbled and Wanda hit the back of his head while Natasha couldn’t wipe the grin off her face.
She is.
~~~~~~~~~~~
After finally getting to know who was who, Y/n was very quick to make conversations with basically any of them. She was seated between Pepper and Vision and was currently talking to the latter about some food Vision hasn’t tried yet.
“It’s actually really nice, and it isn’t that complicated to make. So when you get lazy with what to cook, you can make that instead.” Y/n explained and the man nodded his head. “I’ll keep note of that. Thank you.” He smiled politely before Pietro spoke up.
“So Y/n, Pepper says you two were friends, but how come we’ve only met now?” He asked curiously and Y/n tilted her head. “Well, I just back three days ago.” She replied with a small shrug.
“Y/n has been traveling pretty much everywhere. She has her own youtube channel.” Pepper chimed in. The others seemed surprised by the revelation and the girl in question blushed as she hit the other’s arm. “You said you wouldn’t bring that up anymore!” She whined and the older girl merely laughed. “I don’t see what’s wrong with it. It’s been really successful and people love you.” She defended while Y/n huffed.
Natasha smiled at that. She wasn’t speaking as much as she usually did. She was observing the girl from across the table, noting every gesture, every movement.
Wanda was the only one to notice aside from Clint and they were both aware on what was running through her head.
“I don’t mean to be rude, but you kinda do look familiar, doll.” Bucky added in on the conversation. “I was thinking that, too. I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere.” Steve agreed.
Bruce snorted and Tony smirked widely. “Smooth. And here I thought you guys weren’t into the whole poly relationship. But I get it, sometimes you need a woman’s affection too.”
“Tony!” Pepper scolded him while both Steve and Bucky’s faces flushed in embarrassment and the others burst into laughter, minus Wanda, Natasha, Vision, and Y/n.
Wanda gave Tony a very displeased look. “You are unbelievable, Stark.” Y/n looked around in confusion, as did Vision and Wanda internally cooed. They both look like lost puppies.
“We don’t need another. We’re fine with just the two of us.” Bucky huffed out as he took Steve’s hand and Tony raised his hands in defense. “I was just asking.” Steve grimaced, his face still red as he shook his head.
“Steve and Bucky are together?” Y/n asked curiously as she looked at the two and they both stiffened a bit while the others went quiet as they all stared at her. “Um, yes. Is there a problem with that?” Rhodey shot back and the girl looked at him before she shook her head, realizing how rude she might have sounded.
“Oh! No, no! It’s not what you’re thinking. I was just surprised.” She laughed lightly. “I didn’t think I’d be meeting other people who are also open with their sexuality.” She told them with a kind smile directed to the couple.
“Wait a minute. You mean-”
Y/n cut Pepper off with a shake of her head. “There’s a bunch I have to tell you. But I’ll save that for another time.” She added before looking back to the couple. “And for your question, I’m not sure if you’ve seen me online or anywhere else since I’ve had a few projects here and there.”
Steve furrowed his brows. “Are you a model or something?” Y/n chuckled and waved her head. “Not really. I’m-” But she paused as her phone started to ring. “Hold that thought. I need to answer this, be right back.”
As soon as she was out of sight, all eyes turned to Pepper. “You’ve got an interesting friend there.” Sam commented with a playful grin. “Interesting is one word for it.” Clint mused. “Aside from youtube, what does she do for a living?” Natasha questioned and Pepper couldn’t help but eye her carefully.
“Well, from what I’ve dug up.” Pepper looked incredulously at her boyfriend. “You did research on my friend?” She asked him in disbelief. “It’s called protection.” He chimed and Pepper sighed in exasperation. “Anyway, her channel is a travel blog of some sorts and she’s an actress.”
Now that piqued Natasha’s interest. This might be even more fun than she’d thought.
So when Y/n finally came back, she apologized as she sat back down. “Ah- what I was saying earlier, I’m in some plays so maybe you’ve seen me in something.” She said to Steve, who smiled and nodded his head.
Thankfully, the dinner went on without problems. The group had grown very comfortable around Y/n as they talked about anything and everything. When it was time to go, they were all outside, ready to head home.
“How are you getting home?” Wanda asked when she adjusted her scarf around her neck and Y/n smiled. “I’m not really that close here, but I have to go somewhere before heading home, actually.” She answered as shoved her hands in her pockets.
“Work?” The shorter woman guessed and Y/n nodded her head. “I have to check in with the director since there’s a project coming up. He wanted me there as soon as possible.” She explained. “You should head on home. It’s getting pretty late and your friend seems to be getting impatient.” Y/n joked when she nodded to Nat’s direction and Wanda smiled, laughing lightly before she agreed.
“Okay. Hopefully, I get to see you on stage.” Y/n smiled at that. “I’ll see if I can pull a few strings.” She told her before hailing a cab. She gave Wanda a hug before she got in.
“It was really nice meeting you.”
And she was gone with a small wave from the window. “You too.” She breathed out before shaking her head and running after Natasha as she called for her to hurry up.
Unknown to her, Natasha was watching the whole exchange and she knew she was in for something new.
