Ebisu gets along a liiiiittle bit better with big-brotherly-types (doesn't have to actually be a older brother) Like Hatanaka, Amaaki, might get along okay with Takahashi Akira based on the train arc, 🤔 as for the students maybe Hijita Mii-kun and Yuuta are in their own special tier They're like oases in his sahara desert

What Ebisu thinks of others 🦐: Special tier: Mii-kun, Kurahashi Likes: Hatanaka Wouldn't say he dislikes: Akira, Amaaki, Hijita, Beniko, Tamao, Ogata Kou Thieves who are trying to steal the water from my oasis: Haruaki, Toubyou Dislike: Principal, Ranmaru Straight up hates: Miki, Mame In conclusion: Doesn't get along with the shady scheming type.

Ebisu liking Ogata Kou (white hair) over Rin (black hair) isn't about who's the older brother, but because there aren't many scenes where Rin is doting on Kou, whereas there's a couple scenes where Kou dotes on Rin.

ok so Will touches his neck when nervous, but also when he’s lying. I think in this panel, it’s a tell that he is lying

specifically, I think he is aware of how badly he is doing, and is deliberately trying to downplay it. He is trying to convince Montresor to leave—because from his perspective, Monty staying to protect him isn’t worth it. I might make an essay talking about it more, but Will has shown time and time again that he believes that he does not matter. For example, when he was first attacked by the dogs and he believed that Monty left him, he didn’t blame Monty: he apologized. Because how dare he ask Montresor to put himself in danger to save Will, Will doesn’t matter but Montresor does.

Will is willing to die alone—something he has made very clear he is terrified of—in order to protect Monty from what he views as putting himself in danger to stay with him. He is so incredibly devoted, for better and worse, and it informs every choice he makes.

So yeah… I think he’s lying here, pretending (though it doesn’t really work) that he’s doing better than he is. He will sacrifice himself (his safety, his comfort, and possibly) his life for Montresor, and he will do it happily because for him that is more than a fair trade.

all this might be nothing or it may be obvious but it’s been rattling around in my brain

I’m still listening to the Magnus Archives and ohhhhhh boy Jon is quickly becoming my new favorite whumpee. I have soooooo many ideas but I’m not finished with the Podcast yet.

But I’ve been imagining S3 Jon being transported back to S1 with all his memories but no wounds or anything to show for it. The whole staff thinking he’s gone off the deep end already, blabbering about Fears and Michael and Prentiss and-

He’s just so…terrified to be back. He can’t even take in that they’re all still alive and okay. He grips onto Sasha’s arm like she might disappear and it scares her.

He doesn’t want to experience everything again. He doesn’t even want to try and fix everything because he’s not sure it’s even possible. What if he’s just consigning them to a worse fate?

And then Elias walks in, asking what happened, a knowing smile spread across his lips. And Jon just freezes. He can’t do anything, even if he confronted Elias here and now, there’s nothing he could do to release everyone. If they even believed him in this state.
