I feel like I’m in a headspace where I really am in the mood to read urban fantasy more than anything else, part of me wants to start the Lynburn Legacy reread I’ve been wanting to start for a while and apparently unspoken is quite cheap on iBooks so that’s doable but I’m already doing my in depth trc reread buddy read with notes + rereading other things more casually. If I do the TLL reread I’ll definitely liveblog it because I want to propagandize it to my followers who are here for other modern or urban fantasy I talk about lol. Maybe I should read a Sarah Rees Brennan book I haven’t read yet? I also have been wanting to start reading the Vampire Chronicles but I think I should leave that for when I have more concentration to give over to it / my brain is processing new content better. The TVD books are another possibility, if nothing else I think that could be really funny. There are other possible candidates but if someone wants to recommend me a thing now is your chance

#so urban fantasy I’m a fan of for comparison: both Lynburn Legacy and Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan both of which I need 2 reread #The Diviners by Libba Bray. the infernal devices + the dark artifices. Gail Carriger’s novels (The Parasol Protecturate etc)#Daughter of Smoke and Bone! that’s probably the best example for what I want in an urban fantasy book that’s set in modern day #vampire academy with caveats. Bloodlines with fewer caveats. The Archived #The Gemma Doyle trilogy although tbh that one feels less *urban* fantasy. that’s another one I need to reread #very funny how half of this list has historical setting or even psuedo steampunk overlap #monsters of verity is meant to be dystopian but tbh to me they are just paranormal and it’s my favorite Victoria Schwab work (the archived #is second. I like her adult high fantasy and sci fantasy stuff too but her ya paranormal stuff appeals to me more tbh #will never forgive you people for how I’m never getting a third archived book tbh #my best friend Mackenzie Bishop deserved Addie La Rue fame I’m not bitter or anything #s speaks

turns out how not to be deficient in fat in your diet is to stop eating only low fat versions of foods

#i was scared of being hungry unfortunately and didnt want to change my diet to more calorie dense stuff out of fear of like hunger related #mood swings which i get badly now which i didnt used to which is awesome i totally love feeling like a half starved half mad dog if my lunc #is like half an hour late #i will not eat like regular ice cream but y'know. cheeses. yogurt thats abt it i eat the same 9 ingredients in rotation #apples cauliflower cottage cheese cabbage sardines carrots broccoli tomatoes uhhhh monster energy drinks #i mean other stuff too sometimes but those r the staples #if i could go raw vegan without dying i probably would just bcs its easier #that list is kind of pathetic and depressing but idk man what's a guy to do #i do worry about it not being varied enough and missing micronutrients and stuff but like yknow ive always been a very unadventurous eater #eating the same things day in day out years on end and ive always been like fine lol it's just a less heavy carb selection these days which #like im pretty sure all that you need xyz amount of grains a day is a total psyop by the corn and wheat us subsidies i don't think you need #that shit just like how you dont need milk.

spoilers for the latest dungeon meshi ep but oh my GODDD i love marcille my pobrecita.. i think ryoko kui wrote sexism's effects on marcille really well, i think it's neat how she's a silly little guy and other people kind of underestimate her and it seems she is often down on herself about her failures or, "burdening" others in a way that feels very authentic to how it feels to be a woman and have that extra pressure of perfection to dispell suspicions of your inferiority. it's just very much the feeling i gather from it which makes marcille so relatable. and then to put another layer on it when it came out that she did black magic, she's literally A Bad Ass she is LITERALLY a Badass which makes her doubt of herself even more starkly inappropriate, and in this new episode despite the Fact that she is A Bad Ass when everyone's being a BIG MEANIE to her she's like a sad puppy when people don't let her help with revivals and like idk if i missed something but she doesn't even push back against them saying they're going to turn her in in like, a threatening way, she is just... scared. which hurt me i just wanted everyone stop being so MEAN TO HERRR my POBRECITAAAA. MY TINY LITTLE BABYY

i also laughed a lot and freaked out catching up on the two latest episodes today. DEVASTATING miscalculation on chilchuck's part to protect senshi when laois has No sense of Social cue. really happy to see laois and kabru meet, they're really funny together and i see why people like them so much as a ship now!! i am ECSTATIC that shuro is out of the game in terms of ehem. courting falin. bro COULDN'T HACK IT gEDDEM marcille. get that red dragon lady.. and omg it made me SOOOO MAD that they tried to blame marcille for that like how could that even b her fault!!! >:((( its obv the mad mage's doing. i dont get it they r just big meanies!!! stop shitting on my girl!!!

i like how kabru is like laios if he had more social awareness and was a litle Conniving... and omfg i thought it was so funny and sweet how shuro and laios just fucking beat each other up 😭 shuro said i hate autistic ppl fr. no but im glad he showed up for laios & co. in the end.. sometimes you just gotta talk ur feelings out over a fistfight lol

Because I'm stressed because I have no way to work and I'm worried I'm gonna get fired for it even though I have PTO LMAO and this ship makes me feel safe and happy. --- I like to imagine that she found him lying face-down in the ground after the Millennium World arc with a fresh adult body, dubious mortality, and a chip on his shoulder a mile wide.

She looked after him and nursed him back to health. He repays his debts, so he sticks around. Then he starts getting...attached. She's an older woman, but what the hell does that mean to someone who's thousands of years old? Compared to Bakura, she's a mayfly. And they just have this very comfortable existence together. They have a quiet understanding that they're sticking together, and Izuku even accepts him as "Mom's friend Bakura" (and Bakura definitely doesn't see Izuku as the son he desperately wants with Inko, nope). As she starts to get older, Bakura realizes he can't age. He's immortal. And after he finds Inko crying one day, she confesses her feelings. She's in love with him, even though she knows she shouldn't be; he's handsome and so, so much younger than she is. But he tells her that it's okay, because he loves her too. And there may be a way for them to be together, even with their age difference... Cue him using magic and begging (well, more like demanding, but they see it for the desperation that it is) the Gods to bind his immortal soul with hers, so that they may have a shared existence. They take pity on the two lovers and allow their souls to be bound, with Inko's apparent age matching Bakura's. The stipulation for this is simple: They must do their will on Earth. They must protect the afterlife from interference after Kaiba decided to fuck with everything and bring the Pharaoh back to have a mortal life. They accept this, and continue to live a very quiet life together. Izuku is confused but happy for them. ... Though he does wish they'd act a little less like newlyweds whenever he's around...
