Getting feelings over Max releasing a little Lion named Jimmy as merch. It makes me think about how maybe its based off of little!Max’s favorite plushie. And how maybe little!Max wants to give you one too, and he’s all shy about giving you the present but also a little proud bc it was his idea? And look its here now?? Huhu. All your littles just give me all the feels 😭😭

Also the D/S au lestappen idea of having the same professional dom in Monaco tho. 👀👀👀 Like, how do they find about each other? Did they run into each other when one was leaving/arriving? Maybe after it at first they’re kinda awkward around each other? And then maybe if they’re at like a triple header and haven’t seen their dom in like 3 weeks, they kinda commiserate with each other over how much they miss them???

Aw okay yes I love both of these ideas so much!! I'm so happy you guys are enjoying all the littles content! And yeah I'm also loving this lestappen idea, so I'm gonna tag it with 'D/S AU - lestappen' so that we can group all the content about it because I would LOVE to discuss it more and develop it further. I'm gonna discuss each of these ideas a little bit and then I can always expand on them in future asks if you guys would like :))

LITTLE!MAX:

Jimmy the lion!!! Max is so so proud of him!! Of course max was absolutely terrified of releasing it as merch, and his management certainly looked at him like he'd gone insane when he first suggested it. But he wanted to do it so badly.

I almost think it's a way for max to accept his little space into his every day life? For so long he denied that aspect of himself, refused to acknowledge it until he couldnt stop a drop. He wouldn't prepare for it at all, never allowing himself to buy plushies or toys or cute jammies for his little self.

But now that he's grown to accept that side of him and actually allows himself to think about it and prepare for it and plan for it? He lets himself look over his schedule and allocate time just to regress and be cared for.

He's come so far and he just... he wants a way to represent his little self in his merch and in how people see him. The lion plushie is absolutely perfect for that and while his fans are a little confused when it gets announced, they absolutely LOVE it.

And oh my god of course he must give you one!! He's so nervous for that, so nervous to give you something like that because it's so so special to him. He waits until he's regressed, wrapping the present nicely in his adult headspace and leaving it with his toys for him to get when he regresses.

You're so shocked when little max crawls into your lap later and shyly hands you a gift, making you promise you won't laugh before you open it. And of course you love it!!! You give both your maxy and your new jimmy a forehead kiss, promising maxy that you'll take good care of your new plushie.

D/S AU - LESTAPPEN:

I love the idea that they run into each other outside of the building? So maybe you're a professional dom in Monaco known for being exclusive and private, so much so that you have your own studio that you use for scenes. This means that there's no way either of them could have been there for something different when they run into each other.

Max is exiting your studio, a small smile on his face and zero tension in his body because he's just finished his scene with you and he feels so good. What max loves about you is how you always give your subs as much aftercare as possible, allowing them to cuddle with you for hours until they're ready to leave.

On that day, max stayed even longer than usual so that when he left, Charles was already there waiting for his scene. Charles, conversely, was all stress and nervous energy. He needed this scene so bad, needed to be taken into subspace and made to feel whole again.

They're in shock when they run into each other, neither of them knowing what to say now that they knew. Even though both of them had official team doms to use an emergency, those doms couldnt raise a candle to you.

"You too?" max asks, surprised. Charles just nodded and headed inside, not being in the right headspace at all to think about the fact that max also scened with you.

Charles doesn't mention this to you when the scene starts, and he and max don't acknowledge it for weeks until it's the third race in a triple header and neither of them have been back to Monaco since before the triple header began.

Charles goes to max to complain about how much he misses you because he knows Max would understand. Anyone else he tells would just tell him to use the Ferrari team dom if he needs to be taken down, but no thats not what he needs. He needs you, and he knows max will understand.

Max does understand, and they end up talking about how good of a dom you are and how much they miss you. After that, they talk about it more and more.

I also think they'd start to talk about how much they both hate the idea of you domming other people? They know you're a professional dom and so of course you have other clients and neither of them have any right to be upset about that. But well... even though they're submissive they're both also possessive of you. They both want you with them all the time and their skin crawls when they think of how they're all alone missing you and you're busy domming other clients.

Interestingly, neither of them seem to mind that you dom the other though...

In regards to Project Moon

I don’t think I need to explain anything regarding the latest controversy of Project Moon, from the incredibly unprofessional firing of Vellmori from PM to the recent things coming out about PM’s CEO Kim Ji-Hoon. 

I think I share the same point of view that all of this is incredibly shameful and is an overall incredibly disappointing turn of events that changed the views we had of PM in just the last couple of days. Creating strong characters and basing them off from literature written by authors whose purpose was to defy the standards of society with their strong will and passion, just to not follow those same principles whenever they get applied presssure from a really stupid and shallow minded minority (who probably don’t even play any of the games anyway). 

All of that personally devastated me as, at least in my case with Limbus, I saw the main cast as an amazing representation of strong characters, both women and men, with actual defined personalities and charm, and the game itself having a deep importance on its lore and character development rather than pretty or hot designs for cumbrains to hold onto, and while I’d like to believe they will hold to their standards in that regard, I must admit that I feel like the future is uncertain...doesn’t help we have not gotten any actual official statement either since the day they announced they fired Vellmori, which btw is absolutely disgusting they wouldn’t keep one of their own and kick her out just for the pressure of a few individuals whose lives hold no meaning. As a small artist myself and one who found a lot of charm and personality in her artstyle, I find what they did with Vellmori and her career to be absolutely disgusting and for that I will not forgive unless she gets hired again.  Now regarding the community, I’d understand if people decide to jump the ship because all of this, I myself was thinking of it too despite being relatively new, but I think more than never we have to keep eachother the closest and support eachother, some people are taking it especially bad. Fanartists, fanfictioners, overall fan content creators, members of the community or even those who simply enjoy it casually, keep eachother close since it’s a way we can support eachother while all of this happens. It’s time for us to be closer. 

As for me, I will keep drawing Limbus characters, not because of devotion to the game but because they mean something personal to me outside of whatever PM and Ji-Hoon may do with them in the future. I may even get myself into either Ruina or LC just to understand the lore a bit further, but as it is for now, I do not plan to support PM in any of their decisions and much less financially...and speaking of, if you decide to cancel any purchase from any fan merch or commissions you may have gotten related to any PM project because of this, that’s understandable, but please remember the only person you’d be affecting is the artist and not Project Moon. Just be mindful of that, please.

Participating as a lurker and simply posting fanart, I can say the PM community is one of the most interesting and coolest communities I’ve seen (and perhaps partially been a part of). Keep eachother close, support eachother, and let’s hope for the best. The fight is not over.

How many times would you guess you watched the first back to the future movie?

Since I only hopped on this time train towards the final third of the year lol: fully all the way through, at least 4! Did you create any bttf fanart or fanfic? If you did, what one(s) are you proudest of?

Yes I did !!! It is actually the most fan content I've ever made for a fandom since I was in... maybe junior high? So like YUH. Tbh, it's very difficult for me to find what you would call 'pride' in my art so ehh >_>; that being said, I do think that I had a lot of good IDEAS for Doctober (esp days 19 and 28), but my execution wasnt really the best. I would have liked to draw days 17 and 24 (+ time travel day) a little more properly too; like, I'm not as disappointed at how they turned out, but I still wish they were better and/or I could have given them more time. The ones I most actually-tried-and-dont-mind are days 7, 9, and 21 + under the sea dance day. (So many links was probably cheating but tbf I've kinda bent the rules for the past few questions so... whatevs lol). I've ALSOOO still been working on my godforsaken essay, it is 40 pages rn but even tho it's not done, I'm INSANELY proud of it Q_Q

How many times were you late for school this year?

None! B) For one thing I'm graduated lol, but also I'm typically early gang. I'm that person who'd sit in the classroom by myself for like 5 minutes before everyone else would show up LMBO ^^;

Yess I did!! A... lot actually :0 Most of them were by chance/pre bttf era, but still :P Here is my list as well as I could find, sorry it is soooo long, but what are ya gonna do:

Star Wars/The Mandalorian; The Addams Family (1991); The Tale of Desperaux (2008); Cyberchase; & Clue (1985) -- Christopher Lloyd, havent rewatched the latter 3 since I was a kid and literally went :0 to learn he apparently was in them. Also Kings Quest (2015) which isn't a movie/show but I think it counts uwu

Stuart Little (1999) -- Michael J. Fox, which also rocked my world to discover O_O like hearing it now I'm like "yeah thats him alright" but as a kid I would never have been able to tell you that was the same guy from that time travel movie, despite watching both way too much LMBO

Elf (2003) & Last Vegas (2013) -- Mary Steenburgen, nothing much to say except that she slayed ^_^

Love at the Christmas Table (2012) -- Lea Thompson, I didn't care for it and was shouting "LEA GET OUT OF THIS MOVIE, UR BETTER THAN THIS" like the whole time lol.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002) & Curious George (2006) -- apparently these have Donald Fullilove (Goldie Wilson) in them? Same w Jason Scott Lee (Whitey) in Lilo & Stitch (2002)??? And Star Wars/Kenobi show apparently had Flea (Needles)????? ...HUH.

I binged both the entirety of Law and Order: SVU as well as Seinfeld this year w my sister; apparently Mary Steenburgen, Lea Thompson, & Casey Siemaszko (3-D) are in at least one episode of the former, while Elsa Raven (Clocktower Lady) and Ricky Dean Logan (Data) are apparently in a random episode of Seinfeld each. So like, technically I saw them, tho I don't distinctly remember it :'D Also, I have been making my way through Little House on the Prairie recently, which has Matt Clark (Chester the Bartender) in a few episodes !

Finally finally finally, I watched I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017), as well as the LOTR trilogy like. Twice? And they all have Elijah Wood of course >:3c

None in the wild, no :P But I did end up being in the top 0.1% of listeners for Huey Lewis this year... so UHHHHH take that as u will LMBO

Nooo, I didn't even know it existed until like October !!! It looks super fun but atm/last I checked it doesn't come to where I live so :( I should listen to the soundtrack soon!

If you could describe your year in a BTTF quote, which one would it be?

The year in general is definitely "Oh great, the atrocity channel!" LMBO (but when hasn't it been since like... 2020? 2016???). For me personally, I think it's either "I don't know if I could take that kind of rejection." or "Don't talk to anyone, don't touch anything, don't do anything, don't interact with anyone, and try not to look at anything." ^^;

Let's Talk About PingXie: Part 2

PingXie "Super Group"

If we talk about Chinese fandom, you may already know various platforms, such as: Weibo, Lofter (lof/老福特), 哔哩哔哩 (Bilibili/B站), etc. On Weibo, just like any other topics of discussion, PingXie has its own Super Group/Super Topic/Super Talk "超话" (chāo huà/ch). Super Group is a feature of Weibo which allows us to interact with fellow fans and talk about a topic of interest. To put it simply, it's like a fan group or a fan community. If you have a Weibo account, don't forget to follow "PingXie Super Group". I think it's rather easy to create an account on Weibo than other platforms. Although it's not a must, it's pretty convenient to have it.

There are so many super groups related to Daomu Biji; the major super group 盗墓笔记, the sub super group of the characters, the ships, the series, the events, the landmines, the merchs, etc. Since this is a PingXie blog, let's talk about PingXie Super Group “瓶邪话题” (mtl: PingXie Topic).

In 瓶邪话题, you can find many PingXie fanworks, some meta(s), and discussions as well. It was also my starting point where I began to explore the PingXie Super Group looking for some food :D But, please note that there are rules that you need to know and abide by before you dive in even more further. Aside from the general rules, some rules may sound strict because of the differences in our fandom cultures.

Let's take a look at those rules:

1️⃣ 瓶邪不拆不逆 (PingXie is not breaking up and not switching position)

Explanation:

PingXie is not breaking up/not dismantling. It means that PingXie should be the only one for each other, only have each other as lovers as well as s*xual partners, only love each other, and none of them has other relationships/love affairs (which also means no cheating/no multishipping/cannot pair them up with someone else).

PingXie is not switching. It means exactly what it said. PingXie don't switch their positions. They emphasize the position of Top (Zhang Qiling)/Bottom (Wu Xie). It doesn't matter whether it's NSFW or SFW. Sometimes it can be seen from the atmosphere, the vibe, or the plot that unconsciously implied the matter of the position even without making it as NSFW. To them, PingXie has always been its own ship and pretty much clear there that “瓶邪” (PingXie) and “邪瓶” (Xie||Ping) are two different ships. Thus, PingXie “瓶邪” is not representative of other ship/cp, especially the reversed version. For instance, when you saw a PingXie fanart (usually it's with the ship tag), you thought it was a good fanart, so you wanted to repost/reblog it. Since you thought there was no difference, you tagged Xie||Ping as well so that more people would know about it. However, that is not a good thing to do in Chinese fandom space. They care about Top/Bottom dynamic of the ship so much that for some people it's very important. So, please be aware of it and respect their preferences, at least when you are there.

In conclusion, it's prohibited to post or comment which has the intention of breaking them up or switching position of top and bottom.

2️⃣ 禁止梦 (banned dream-girls-comment and the like)

Explanation:

The word "梦" (dream) here refers to "梦女" (dream girl), that is the fangirl who likes to treat either Zhang Qiling or Wu Xie as her husband. It's a ship/couple super group after all. Thus, it's prohibited to post any contents or comments with this kind of attitude.

3️⃣ No drama discussion

Explanation:

It's prohibited to mention and discuss all derivative films and TV shows. Well, 瓶邪话题 is a ship/cp super group for two-dimensional characters in the book only.

Those are some rules in "PingXie Super Group". There is also a bot for PingXie on Weibo, you can search “瓶邪bot” directly. It is where you can read PingXie's excerpts from the webnovel, the physical book, interviews, official games, and it also includes the artworks from the official manhua(s), except for dramas though.

If you are interested, you can also follow Zhang Qiling and Wu Xie's account lol. Yeah, they have accounts there, as well as the others (maybe someone made it, not sure who's behind it). As for the other characters, you can search for it directly, it's easy to find them.

In fact, PingXie fan base in China is quite fond of “洁癖” (mtl: cleanliness/mysophobia). The word "洁癖" has the same meaning of "only" in “瓶邪洁癖”, which is similar to “PingXie Only”. It is basically the same as “瓶邪不拆不逆” that I've mentioned before in PingXie Super Group rules, but “瓶邪洁癖” can be stricter or more extreme. Some of them can't accept that either Wu Xie or Zhang Qiling has ex-lovers (women or men) with any emotional and physical experiences in fanworks, especially since the canon implies that they have never engaged in a relationship with anyone else before. They also refuse to see any fanworks by authors with opposing preferences, and many more depend on each individual. It sounds strict, right? But judging by the fandom space itself, it's actually understandable. Their fandom space and culture are completely different from those here in the first place.

Even though not all of Daomu Biji fans (稻米) are into this, the number of PingXie "only" shippers is still abundant. PingXie itself is the most popular ship and has a significant influence on its fandom. I noticed that many DMBJ fan artists and writers are also into this. It may just be a preference, but the impact on the fandom itself is quite big. I don't know much about the details of its history though... it's just that, compared to other fandoms, PingXie Only in China is highly conspicuous, which is really impressive!

How to spot fake Vivienne Westwood 🪐

As a person who sells and buys from online platforms and apps such as Vinted, Wallapop, Ebay and Etsy, I’ve encountered my fair shade of counterfeit luxury items. Although this phenomenon is very common for renown brands (such as Gucci, Prada, Dior etc) I’ve never seen such high rate of fake products as I did for Vivievve Westwood. Often, this merch can look very, very similar to the original design to an inattentive eye, which can lead many people to buy a copy for an exorbitant amount of money. Since scammers make my rage flare, I want to make a guide for online buyers on how to spot a fake VW jewel.

1. the price seems too good to be true? it is.

first thing first: keep an eye on the price. if there is an item that the original site is selling for 140€, it is unlikely that one specific seller online is giving away one for 40€. especially if it’s marked as “new”, there is no way they could’ve paid it less than the price they’re selling it at. it’s better to look for products with a price that is more trustworthy: for example, for a necklace sold at 140€ on the official website, it would be legit to find a new item for 115-135€ and a used item for about 100-115€. of course there are exceptions to this rule, many people may be eager to sell away unwanted gifts or stuff they don’t use anymore, but they would never drop the price to 1/3. here below, an example:

2. no logo on the necklace clasp? red flag.

the high majority of Vivienne Westwood’s necklaces (if not all) share this common trait: the clasp presents the iconic orb logo. all the clasps are usually refined, and likely present themselves in a almost-rectangular shape, rather than the most common drop. so, if these characteristics lack, something’s probably off. zoom in on the pictures below to notice the difference from a fake and the real thing.

3. two bigger hoops? good sign.

this rule may have exceptions of course, but usually Vivienne Westwood colliers that include a chain present on it two bigger hoops that makes it easier for the clasp to close, making it possible to choose from two different lengths. this is especially valid when talking about necklaces found in the women’s category rather than men’s and unisex jewelry. notice in the two pics below how the first one checks for the clasp but not for the hoops.

4. tag? yes please.

when buying a Vivienne Westwood necklace or bracelet, keep an eye on the tag of the chain: first of all, it has to be present. no matter if the seller tells you they cut it off themselves to better balance the pendant, it’s a red flag. second, there must be no outline, just the clear and legible VW signatures, on both sides (usually one with the orb). third, it has to hand from the last hoop, not in the middle of the chain.

5. you may not buy a products for its packaging, but oh doesn’t it help?

what? they’re selling you an item but not the dustbag and the box because they already sold them? it’s likely a scam. of course there are people who will buy just the package to add to their collection or to scam other buyers with their fake cheap items, but what good would it be for an honest seller to ship the jewelry without its case? so, be careful and give your trust to who assured you you’ll get a dustbag, a box, and a certificate. and also, regarding the packaging, you have to remember:

a. there is only one original dustbag, all the others are likely fake: it is beige with the black orb logo and black ribbon.

b. it doesn’t matter if they show you an online receipt, they can be easily falsified.

c. it doesn’t matter if in the picture of the article they show you they own the dustbag and box, because they likely belong to another jewel in their possession.

unfortunately, there are online platforms that sell fake vivienne westwood items with boxes and bags included that look very alike to the original ones. be careful with those and try apply the other rules to discern scam from legit.

6. the online platform you’re buying it from is a business card for the product you’ll get.

don’t get me wrong, I love Etsy, you can find a whole lot of incredibly talented artists on there what will sell you exquisite items, but is it a good choice when you’re looking for authentic luxury jewelry? usually sites as Etsy and Aliexpress or even Amazon will sell you fake design jewelry, but often making you very aware of the fact it’s a fraud. at times it’s flagged as “style” Vivienne Westwood and it has a very low price (for example 10-20€). so, be aware, what you pay for is what you’ll be receiving. then, what platforms can I trust? of course the original Vivienne Westwood’s website, but also here’s a list of the sites and apps I personally find trustworthy and from which I’ve bought VW’s jewelry:

- Farfetch (new)

- Zalando (new)

- Vestiaire Collective (new and vintage)

also, a lot of apps that sell second hand goods are developing a new service that offers an evaluation from experts before the item gets shipped to you. for example, Vinted has this service available for 10€ for articles worth 100€+ of certain brands (VW included), and they will refund you the whole price of the merch, shipping and evaluation if it turns out to be a fraud.

Kendrick Lamar just dropped his first track since unleashing "Not Like Us," and rather than diss Drake, the West Coast MC appears to be calling out the entire culture. The lyrics find him going at influencers and dissecting the world around him.

On Wednesday (Sept. 11), K-Dot hit up Instagram with a new song, which leaves the listener wondering if society is living in a modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah. The 5-minute narrative, which is presumed to be loosely titled "Watch the Party Die" since it has no official name yet, finds Kendrick lamenting over an environment in which people succumb to temptation and gluttony. In his own vitriolic way, the Compton, Calif. spitter rhymes about chopping the heads off the proverbial fakes and snakes in hip-hop culture over a beat that is both sad and soulful.

Throughout the first verse, Kendrick implies that he is living in an apocalyptic world that needs cleansing, and he is just the MC to do it. The chorus finds Kenny praying to God while simultaneously hyping up his own righteousness. He also uses the second verse to call for those who practice "nasty decisions using money as a backbone" to have their heads "cracked." Then K-Dot closes out the third verse with the same sentiment while praising the likes of Christian singer Lecraeand rapper-activist Dee-1.

Just asking... why do you criticize JKR but also reblog Harry Potter gifs? I'm saying this as a someone who's reread the books every two weeks in my preteen years.

Giving platform to her work contributes to her presence on this website, and the presence and popularity are a way to endorse products that give royalties to her. And you know what she uses all that money for.

Harry Potter was literally my childhood, and yes, it was hard to let it go completely at first...but she's really not worth it. You can't separate the work from the creator when it still gives the creator money.

Hey! Just to start, I wanted to firstly thank you for being kind in your question asking, and secondly to set the tone for my answer since obviously tone can be hard to read through text. My tone throughout this entire answer is one of kindness and sincerity. I am not at any point mad or upset.

I do not support JKR in any financial way. As soon as her twitter rant made its way to my side of the internet, I made the decision to stop purchasing anything official to do with HP. I was in the middle of collecting those 20th Anniv edition books with all the houses. I stopped. Previously I would have bought merch, I wanted to go to the theme park etc. I do not do or plan to do those things anymore.

I own merch that I do not wear outside my house, because I don't want to make people feel unsafe. I have a tattoo that I can't do much about, but when people take notice of it (and I feel I'm personally safe to do so) I say thanks but fuck JKR, right? So far, no one has disagreed with me, but I am armed with gentle arguments if someone ever does.

But I do still engage with fan content. I listen to a few podcasts that have openly distanced themselves from JKR (Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, and Witch Please), I still reread the books, I still watch the movies (which I have on dvd and bought long before any of this), I still read and write HP fanfic, and I still reblog HP content on tumblr alongside JKR criticism which I tag the same.

What I feel like your question is implying though is the idea that there is a right and a wrong way to respond to and/or boycott something like JKR's transphobia.

As a person who has been active politically for a good long while now, something that you learn quickly is that you can't do everything. For example, I love make up and I boycott brands that aren't cruelty free. But different people have different ideas about what cruelty free means. There's kinda three levels to it. 1) that the brand has a cruelty free certification 2) has a cruelty free cert and doesn't sell on mainland China where their gov can require animal testing on any product whenever they want, though historically this is rare 3) all of the above plus their parent company is also cruelty free.

I do number two because as much as I want to stop animal testing on cosmetic products, I do not have the bandwidth to work out what everyones parent company is. But there a lot of people who would say I must not care about eliminating animal testing if I don't go all the way. I would disagree with those people.

This is not the only boycotting I do. There are coffee companies I will not buy at because their owners came out as homophobes during my country's same sex marriage debate. I boycott Disney, because they're an evil company which yes, includes Marvel and Star Wars because they are the same company. By which I mean I do not financially support them and find ways to watch what little I do want to watch through other means that doesn't give the mouse any money.

But I also don't judge people who don't do those things.

My priorities are not everyone's priorities. Beyond even boycotting - I am in full support of BLM protests in the USA. But I am not American, and whilst there is a lot I can learn from race discussions the US has, my priority is always going to be my own country's racist history and present. And I'd rather use my time and energy to talk about and learn about what is happening in my country rather than theirs.

All of this is to say that, after paying attention to the trans and non binary people who were speaking about this topic at the time, parsing through my own feelings and thoughts on the subject, and then discussing them with people that I trusted to call me out if I needed to be, I decided fan content was okay. But that I would always engage with the books and movies in a way that was critical of them and their creator.

I don't view reblogging HP gifsets whilst also reblogging criticism as anything different to what HP and the Sacred Text does, or watching the movie with friends who I also have critical discussions with.

Does reblogging gifsets of HP increase her presence on this website, and therefore lead to more sales? It's unlikely. Most people on this website will be aware of what JKR has done and will have made up their mind already on whether they are going to continue supporting her financially or not. Will there be people who follow me thinking I'm a "safe" pro JKR person? Maybe, but they're unlikely to think it for very long given that I also reblog anti JKR stuff. And maybe the post that they see will be one of many interactions that chip away at their terfness.

In the end, it's just as likely that reblogging anti JKR stuff will be seen by a terf who uses that as an excuse to buy more HP stuff because they feel the need to support her more. This is also possible, but unlikely so it won't stop me from reblogging them.

At the end of the day, how everyone has chosen to respond to JKR is personal, and there is no right or wrong way to do it, short of outright supporting and agreeing with her. I don't have to let go of HP completely, to let go of JKR. You might have felt that you had to, and I would not be mad or upset if you felt the need to block me because of this. But not responding in the exact way you did, does not mean that I am boycotting wrong, nor does it make me a bad person or anti-trans.

Maybe one day I will agree with you and stop reblogging them. My opinion is not stagnate. But that's where I'm at right now.

The people saying that BigHit or HYBE don’t know what they’re doing are idiots because BigHit/HYBE are some of the most savvy and smart people in the GLOBAL entertainment industry. BTS did a whole new version of Yet to Come for a promo not too long ago. I did not hear a lot of voices speak out about Qatar at that time. Very subtle but the message is there if you want to see it...

We do not know what HYBE/BigHit/BTS considered in making the decision. We don’t know what their obligations are regarding their promotional contract with Hyundai/FIFA. We don’t know why it is only Jungkook and not all of the members of BTS participating in this event. We don’t know anything except that Jungkook is supposedly having his first solo stage for an event sponsored by Hyundai (amongst others). We don’t know what kind of song or performance JK is going to do in Qatar. We don’t know for sure if he is making an in-person appearance or virtually from Korea.

What we do know is Qatar has some issues that are problematic to say the least. Women and LGBTI people face discrimination in law and practice. There are other human rights issues as well. You can read about them here.

That being said, South Korea has its own issues with women’s rights and LGBTI rights. Hell it seems like they’re protesting to get their president kicked out of office every other day for one thing or another. Yet we indirectly support this government when we buy BTS merch. 

One thing BTS’/Jungkook’s participation has done is highlighted these human rights issues that we find at least problematic and at worst, horrific, and we are having conversations about it, so if nothing else, heightened awareness is one result of this. 

I have not looked into what is being said about any of the other artists performing there. Prominent female artists will be performing. Is anything being said about that because it all could be said in the same breath.

Another aspect is the disrespect Muslim BTS Armys are feeling right now. Please think before you speak about something like this. It costs nothing to engage your brain and you may learn something in the meantime.

I have seen reports that officials in Qatar have stated over and over that they welcome EVERYONE for this event. This implies they are well aware that their culture/policies do not sit well with some. I am not taking up for their government or endorsing their culture in any way, shape or form. They know, they hear us (the rest of the world).

How are we to make an impact if we boycott/ignore this event? How is that a solution? 

I am saying that in order to make an impact you must be present and participating.You sitting on your couch silently choosing not to watch Jungkook’s performance is only hurting yourself. Make your voices heard by supporting these issues in your own communities. I say shout it from the rooftops what you believe. I am going to stand behind my man/mens, Jungkook/BTS and support them in ALL of their endeavors because I TRUST their decisions. They are not perfect, they might make mistakes but I am not going to abandon them or stand back when they TRUST US to have their backs!

I am not trying to say any one is right or wrong. But if we are serious about how we feel about these things then we need to take whatever action we feel is necessary ALL THE DAMN TIME.

Since Stranger now has official merch, I thought that was a good excuse to write some of my headcanons for him.

anyways, I havent seen that many depictions of stranger as a lot instead of one, so these headcanons go with that idea. (also I'm sorry for typos and weird grammar. I have a headache ;-;)

-Most of residents in blackspace tend to believe strangers are a hivemind, seeing the way they act. Despite never talking to each other, they always seem perfectly organized, always knowing where to be or when another stranger needs help. All stranger strive for the same goal, are indistinguishable from each other and on the rare occasion when they talk to anyone in blackspace, they all speak the same, cryptic way, and have the same demeanor.

-This belief is partially true, although they do not fall on the stereotipe of a hivemind filled with mindless drones following orders. While they share a colective mind, and are copies of each other, each stranger is an individual with their own thoughts and free will, even if they think more or less the same way.

-Stranger do not have any sort of hierarchy. The decisions are made between them all, which doesn’t take too long as they, again, think more or less the same way. All strangers have the same goal, to guide sunny to the truth, and accomplishing this goal is what matters the most to them. All their efforts must be focused on this goal, he whole reason of their existence. Ideas like this are what they share in common.

-They spend most of their time doing stuff that would help them with their goal, and even when they’re resting, they’re discussing with the others what would be the best to do after. They’re constlantly communicating with each other through some sort of telepathy. Otherwise, they would be whispering all the time. This doesn’t mean strangers can’t have their own thoughts, and if they wish to, they can be left outside the conversation if they want to be alone.

-but they only do this last thing when they’re at the hub. This is one of the only safe places of blackspace, and when they’re exploring other rooms or are at headspace, they prefer to be in contact with the other strangers, as safety.

-blackspace is a dangerous place for anyone who isn’t omori. The zones tends to shift form suddently, and is pretty common to find the crushed bodies of the unlucky ones who couldn’t find an stable spot. There are many ways of dying in there, sometimes the air can be toxic, there are traps hidden everywhere and more often than not residents are hostile due to the constant stress. Strangers can die, and it happened in the past. So as a safety measure, strangers always know where other strangers are and if they’re in danger. So, they’re rarely actually alone, even if they usually travel on their own, since that covers more ground.

-strangers avoid fighting, as they all have concluded it’s a waste of time and energy,even if they win a fight, it won’t be without it’s cost, so they prefer to run or sneak away from violent conflict. The exception to this is whenever a stranger is attacked by a resident of blackspace and can’t escape on their own. This is one of the few times where many strangers can be seen, attacking from all directions. But even then, this is done as a distraction. Once the stranger that needed help manages to get away, the other will escape as well. That’s a best case scenario, but sometimes a strangers life ends up traded by another one’s, or to save a stranger many end injured.

-injured strangers stay at the hub for a while. Strangers aren’t very emotive, but it’s easy to tell when one isn’t well if they keep their eyes closed. Since that’s the only way to distinguish them from the darkness, closing them makes them practically invisible. When injured, strangers feel the need to be hidden, since they never feel completely safe anywhere. They’re supposed to rest, but not doing anything is one of the few thing that makes them feel more than their usual numbness and apathy. It makes them anxious. It isnt uncommon for injured strangers to go out to explore as normal. Everyone knows it isnt ideal, but they all understand the sentiment, so no one says anything against it.

-I guess all of this about how they’re workaholics and very organized and like-minded really makes them seem like the bees of blackspace. But while they all agree on the what’s, their opinions begin to differ on the why’s.

-for example, their absolute dedication to their goal, while can be out of an actual commitment to make sunny remember the truth, it can also be because they don’t have anything else to do. Being aware they live in a dream, it’s a common belief that anything else they do, any kind of hobby, or possible friendships, are pointless. This leaves them with little motivation of doing anything that isn’t helping sunny, because at least then their actions are helping someone real.

-(there is a handfull of strangers that don’t share this belief but more on that later)

-They all agree in guiding sunny towards the truth, but pretty much every stranger has their own reasonig as to why this is important. There is one who wants sunny to get better, to cope in healthy ways, to get out of this escapist fantasy that’s draining his life, to get the help he needs, and confessing the truth will set him on that path. There is another who wants sunny to face the consequences of his actions, to stop being a coward, to stop letting his friends be hurt with the lie, and confesing the truth will set him on the path to make up for what he did. Other believes that the bonds he used to have are too precious to be lost, and wants sunny to reconnect with his friends, to earn their forgiveness and confessing the truth is the first step towards that. Etc.

-opinions about sunny are as varied as reasons to guide him to the truth. Some might feel personally responsible for the secret, getting to much into basil’s mindset, and want to correct their mistake, they just want whats best for sunny. Others feel pity for him. Others are indiferent. Others think he’s a horrible friend. Opinions about omori are less varied, but in general strangers either see him more as a machine, just an avatar without thoughts or will and believe is absurd to try and talk to him, so they’re pretty much neutral on him. while others despise him.

-strangers have some untold rules, one of them being focusing on their common goal and agree to disagree on everything else.

-another untold rule is to never go against omori. Strangers don’t actually go against any of headspace rules, working around them and finding loopholes to do what they do. Since they technically aren’t breaking any rules, then omori can’t kill them. Its just another measure to keep themselves safe. (and the strangers that hate omori probably find amusement in this)

-and the last one is to avoid interacting with any basil they find. Strangers don’t interact with anyone that isnt another stranger or sunny (through omori) most of the time, but it has happened in the past that some strangers might be tempted to warn basil about the danger he’s in. this doesn’t work, as they can’t say specifics about why he’s in danger lest they risk basil snitching on them (don’t blame him much, it just he trust more his best friend than some rando), so they have to be vague. And basils rarely listen to these warnings. This rule is mostly for strangers own sanity.

-most of strangers patience is reserved to dealing with sunny’s bullshit and their thankless job, thus they don’t have patience towards anyone else. On occassions where a stranger gets overwhelmed and is crying, most others will ignore them or will only feel annoyance towards them. Strangers don’t really get along with each other. It’s not that they hate each other, but is that they don’t care for each other on a personal level. If they’re not on mortal danger, then strangers are left to deal with their own issues on their own.

-although strangers share many personality traits, there are some differences in their behaviour. Some strangers are proudful and aren’t afraid of talking to omori face to face, meanwhile others are timid and always keep their distance. There are strangers who are cold and indifferent who only state the facts, others have a more compasionate way of saying things. But then there are the strangers who are friendly.

-strangers don’t like physical contact, but holding hands is a gesture that bring them comfort. The friendly strangers are who do this. After a stranger almost die, is common they find themselves reluctant to leave again, so other strangers will accompany them. While strangers moslty travel alone, occassionally they will travel in pairs or small groups, all holding their hands to comfort the scared stranger. When strangers are injured, they will hold hands with other injured strangers and a healthy stranger might join. When a stranger is crying, another will stay close to them, for once telling them to take their time, never mentioning anything related to sunny or the truth.

-these friendly strangers firmly believe just because they’re part of a dream that doesn’t mean they should be dismissal to their own wellbeing. These strangers can tell apart a stranger from another and mourn when a stranger dies. It’s not acknowledged outloud but the other strangers appreciate their efforts, even if they believe their care is wasted. If a friendly stranger is being attacked, the others will be specially vicious when defending them.

Overall, a stranger’s life sucks but that’s true for everyone who lives in blackspace.

Let me tell you what I went through to FINALLY HAVE HIM.

A while back, I can't remember if it was 2021 or early 2022, this plush set went on preorder.

This is Shino's first and only official plushie. The others here have all had plushies, but most of them haven't had one in over a decade or more.

I could only find it on a couple of websites at the time, one of which was toywiz, which I don't trust after having multiple bad experiences with them in the past, so I ordered from another website which I can find no records of at this time or remember the name of, but I did research and find to be legitimate at the time.

Their original release date was early 2022, I can't remember the month, but I want to say sometime between March and May. But that came and went and they never came out. I kept waiting and waiting, with no sign of them ever being released anywhere I could easily access and also no physical photos of them from anywhere, only this stock image which is not the actual physical plushies but rather a mock up design.

I would often look for them on Yahoo Japan and Japan Mercari through buyee, but had no luck. My Figure Collection still had them listed as having come out in 2022, but only two accounts on there period had any of them listed under 'owned' and had no photos posted.

For a while I gave up and assumed they must have been cancelled. Because not a single one of them had ever shown up for sale even on Japanese sites. I was devastated, because all I've wanted for years is a Shino plushie.

But a few weeks ago I decided rather than searching for these specifically by character I would search buyee for "Naruto Tomonui"(but in Japanese) instead. I've done it before, and it usually brings up the many other Naruto Tomonui plushies there are. But this time, amongst those, I saw the first physical evidence these existed, an actual real life photo of Kankurou!

I about lost my mind for a minute because until then I was fully convinced these were not actually made. When I translated the title of his listing it translated to 'foreign exclusive'. I thought that was odd. I kept looking and could not find a single other plush from this set for sale on any Japanese sales site.

So I kept scouring google to look for more photos of them, trying in various languages. I ended up finding a photo of Gaara. Gaara has a Tomonui plush already, but it's in a different outfit, and this photo had the two of them side by side, so I knew it was the right one. When I reverse google image saerched it I found a French anime merch website that had actual real life photos of every single one of the plushies from this set except for Shino, Kiba, and Kankurou. It also had all of them for sale other than those three. I do want everyone from this set, but my main priority here was Shino, and then Kiba. So while I was super excited to see photos of the others (Lee is especially cute and I want to get him soon too), I WANTED TO SEE SHINO. AND ALSO BUY HIM.

I kept looking and mostly reached a dead end. I found someone on TikTok that owned Lee, another person on TikTok that owned Neji, and that's about it. I gave up for the night because it was 4am.

And then I ended up looking every single day for a week straight. After a while I gave up on finding photos of them and decided I should just try to find them for sale. I could only find them on European websites. European eBays and European anime merch sites. There was no sign they had released anywhere outside of Europe thus far. I figured maybe that was what that seller on Japan Mercari meant by 'Foreign Exclusive' but it seemed weird to me that they wouldn't even release in Japan.

Even weirder, when I found them on the Bandai website's list of items it said they had only released in the US. Maybe they will in the future, but so far the only non European website that has them for sale is ToyWiz, where the release date has been slowly pushed up over time for over a year and a half.

Now onto the next dilemma I had: All these European websites would not let me either buy the full set or pick a character. It was always a random selection. The ones that did let me pick did not have Shino. I finally ended up finding a website in Bulgaria that had Shino and let me pick, so I bought him and Kiba! But when I bought them my translation of the checkout process got messed up and my address was messed up. Thankfully I was able to email them to fix it immediately.

AND NOW THEY ARE HERE. ABSOLUTELY WORTH ALL THE HELL. I'll probably get the others when/if they are a little bit easier to get ahold of. I don't know why this was so difficult. But it was very worth it.

I just tried to imagine me and my boyfriend if we had to be on camera but without showing we’re a couple and.. seriously we’d be so awkward. I would really struggle to know how to act, what’s too close, what’s too much, what’s not enough and too distant? People just don’t imagine how weird and hard that must be for them to act like that all the time, sometimes they let their guard down of course and they seem to be in a safe environment so it’s not like they’re always extremely super duper careful to not show anything but still they have to hide. I think you'll find them more awkward in 'official' situations, such as the filming of JM's merch clip, Vlives, when they are around cameras that aren't the company's (add shoots, award shows, for example).

While they are more relaxed, more natural around their own camera crews, and we see it in BTBs and memories (knowing there is more control over the content that will be released, they can act more naturally and at the end of the day it's their and the company's decision as to what will be shared with us).

If you were a real life person and your dislikes are lets say spicy food or loud, overbearing people, Bakugou would be like, “Tch I’m right, they’re wrong. Shut the fuck up!!!” But if his ultimate wifu/husbando has those dislikes he would be like, “Omg...😳😳 opposites attract...👉👈” 

He honestly tries to be a low-key fan (as in, not be a fan at all to outsiders), but if one day during class Kaminari ends up saying that in [Series], you’re the weakest character in your group/squad, Bakugou would get super angry. 

“Hey, Dunceface!! It’s so fucking obvious that you’re an anime-only fake fan, so don’t talk as if you know shit!” 

Bakugou is those “um actually” ;; fans 

Bakugou is a manga reader, so by the time your introduction scene or Ultimate Attack scene is being aired he becomes super OOC. He’s hyped for it for days, incredibly nervous at how the animators handle the scene. 

By the time he watches it?? 

THE ANIMATION!! THE VOICE ACTING!! YOUR COOLNESS!!! PLS ORA ORA HIM IN THE CHEST!! HE’S BEGGING YOU! IF YOU’RE GOING TO UNISON RAID WITH ANYONE PLS LET IT BE HIM!! 

He’s legitimately sweating buckets by the time the episode is over. A whole-ass fire hazard. 

Probably knows how to play your character theme on the drums. 

Omg but if your character dies/is hinted toward dying/or the most recent chapters ends with a cliffhanger where you’re fatally injured he will become legitimately depressed. 

Like holes himself in his dorm room for a whole day without contacting anyone and with the blinds drawn type of depressed. 

When he comes to class the next day with eye-bags and is slouching and his classmates think that something horrible has happened, it’s probably only Izuku who knows what’s going on. 

He’ll say, “You’re upset about the most recent chapter of [Series], right? I know it must be hard for you right now.” He’ll give Bakugou an officially licensed rubber strap of your character and Bakugou will just ;; cradle it in his hands softly. 

In complete seriousness, your character is probably someone who is strong physically, but publicly rallies for things like, “Failure is fine.” Your character arc would probably explore what it’s like being not good enough or feeling constantly disappointed, so he feels comfort in your character. 

Todoroki Shoto: 

In comparison to Bakugou, he’s probably a more low-key fan unintentionally, but goes just as hard. 

Buys all of the merch, limited-edition or not, has your picture set as his phone lockscreen and homescreen, has a little acrylic charm of you on his phone, follows several fanartists that draw your character on social media. He buys enough merch that his room looks like a glorified shrine. 

It’s canon that he reads manga, but I headcanon that he’s even less picky with his genres and willingly reads things like slice-of-life or shojo all the way to shonen or adult fantasy, so your anime could come from any possible story. 

Your character is probably someone who is sweet and kind but has a traumatic character backstory. 

He probably ends up thinking stuff like, “If [Name] was with me, I would never let them get treated like that.” asdhj he’s a dork too. 

Unironically dramatically quotes you during battle and thinks that it’s still badass because he’s a teenage boy in his anime phase. 

Doesn’t get into debates with people who don’t like your character. He’s like, “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)) even though they’re wrong. >:(.” 

If you’re from a sports/competition anime he’ll try to learn all of the rules, and even try it out for himself (if it’s not fighting) but he finds out that he’s... not very good at it. That doesn’t make him any less amazed though! 

If your character is from a different culture with different customs and traditions, he’ll even learn more about them outside of your anime! 

Forces his siblings to watch the anime with him. They don’t necessarily have to, but the Todoroki household has one big TV and he hogs it all the time watching your anime over and over. 

Natsuo is begging him to watch something else and Shoto will just pout angrily from the other side of the couch.( ￣＾￣)

It’s so jarring because he doesn't look or appear like a hardcore anime fan, but sometimes he’ll just butt into conversations randomly and talk about you. 

Like you know those tumblr Naruto posts that talk about it as if it’s some sort of Renaissance literature. That’s Todoroki. 

[”Man, they’re so hot--!” 

“You want to see someone hot?” Todoroki asks with a perfectly straight face, and he’ll just... turn his phone around and show them a picture of an anime character.] 

When his dad tries to set him up with someone else: “You think they’re my type? Do they watch [Series]? Do they know what true friendship is?? Do they understand pining and love the way [Name] does?” 

Endeavor: who the FUCK is [Name]. 

Gets into fanfiction because of your character and series. He’ll just be reading on his phone during break times at school and everyone thinks that he’s being so well-read but he’s just reading pure smut with a straight face. 

Doesn’t mind when you’re shipped with other characters necessarily but he is super picky. If your character is hinted toward a potential romance with another character that’s pretty crass and doesn’t necessarily treat you well but you’re sticking together through the power of friendship, he won’t ship it. 

He’s just like “[Name] would be so much happier with someone else like me.” ://// 

And if your character goes through something traumatic or terrible during the series he’ll be so sad, like soooo sad. :((( Deku would probably be comforting him on the couch in the common room and everyone is concerned because he looks like he’s mourning a lost pet, but it turns out to be over some anime character pshhhsdfh. 

Deku would just be patting his shoulder trying to console him and Todoroki’s just sitting there with a big frown on his face going, [“But they’ve been through so much throughout the anime already...” 

“I know, Todoroki-kun, I know...” 

“The author can’t do that to them... It’s just not fair.”

“I get it,” Midoriya says mournfully.]  

Plot twist: They like the same anime character 

They’ll probably find out when they have to retake the license exam together. 

Todoroki will just take his phone out during off times and Bakugou’s eyes looks over because it’s drawn by the noise but then his head just snaps to the side when he realizes its a little charm of you, like, he’s going to get whiplash from that. 

“What the -- is that [Surname] [Name]?!” 

Like they have never really hung out together before this, so when they both first realize that their favorite character of all time is [Name] they’re left ,, just standing there ,,, pointing at each other like the spiderman meme.

At first they’re both inwardly excited because FINALLY someone cultured and with taste. They spend the entire time talking about your stats, your attacks, your post-timeskip character design, and your personality, and then they delve a little bit deeper and then they realize ,,, oh. 

Bakugou says that you don’t belong with the dumb protagonist, you should be shipped with someone strong, confident and loud, but Todoroki is like noooooo they deserve to be with someone that treats them gently. 

They connect the dots. 

[“Bakugou, you aren’t compatible with [Name]. It says so in their trivia page.” 

“Says you! They won’t want some bland-ass pretty boy! They would want a real man!”] 

They’re such fanboys ;;; they do realize that you aren’t real, right asdfghj?

One day Kaminari and Sero separately invite them to an anime convention, but they both say no and that they have plans or “something better to do” that day. 

Then Bakugou and Todoroki both turn up to the convention at the same place because they both reach for the last limited edition [Name] figure and they just stare at each other wide-eyed (ʘoʘ╬) like that. 

They start verbally fighting each other over the last figure and then physically fighting each other andddd then they get kicked out of the convention. 

Izuku ends up swooping in and getting the last box.

Ever get so upset you make a Tumblr account to vent?

I haven’t even listened to The Penumbra Podcast yet but it’s on my list because it’s insanely popular and the cosplays I’ve seen are hot as hell (A+ to all the cosplayers I’ve seen you’ve done great work). Now, with the recent news surrounding the podcast, I’ll wait till it’s done if I ever do get into it. I’m Asian and part of the LGBT community but I’m not nonbinary so I can’t say much about the trans represention in the art but I wanted to add my two cents on the matter as a person of color and someone examining the situation from the outside. Also, before I get deeply into it, I’m not the only person of color with opinions on this matter so if people have their own frustrations and criticism with the racism in The Penumbra Podcast and/or the new artist they hired, definitely listen to them too. These are my own personal opinions, and I’m sure other people will disagree and that’s fine. We’re all going to have different views on this so bear that in mind. Also, feel free to correct me or add anything if I’ve missed some information. Here’s a great breakdown of the whole situation for those that don’t know what happened. Finally, I was very hesitant to post this, but I felt it was important because I make a statement at the end on how race should be presented in a podcast format so if you are interested in making a podcast and want to have a diverse range of characters, please skip to the end to read those thoughts.

I’ll start off by saying, I’m not even that upset with the new artist that The Penumbra Podcast hired. I know that statement alone is controversial but I don't personally know them, and I’m not going to judge who they are as a person by a few pieces of art they’ve made. They are the least of the problems that I have here. Since the announcement and the backlash, I’ve been scrolling through the artist’s Instagram account and I can tell why people find the designs offensive, but I’m also comparing the designs to the artist’s other work, and I honestly believe that’s just their style. They’ve exaggerated the features of just about every character they’ve made, regardless of race or gender. From what I’ve seen the sharp angles and overly round curves in the anatomy that make some of the character’s features more jarring are how they prefer to draw. I’m sure they’re capable of drawing more realistic proportions but for the most part they’re art aims to call attention, be bold, and create distinguished features. Not inherently a bad thing on its own.

And yeah I’d understand the issue if this were a scenario where the artist heard how these characters acted in the podcast and thought “hey, obviously this character is a black woman because they are super strong and therefore must have big muscles, no other woman could look like that” or “hey, this character has to be Asian because they act super seductive sometimes better draw them as such.” But from my understanding the race was already decided by previous official artists and a general description of the characters were already generated by the audience, similar to how The Magnus Archives leaned towards drawing scrawny Jon with black, greying hair and dark skin. The new artists couldn’t really change those features even if those features aren’t described in canon because a depiction that strayed too far from popular fandom interpretation would make the character’s unrecognizable to the fanbase. 

I think the reason this became such a big issue for most people is because the new Penumbra artist used their exaggerated art style when making these characters and people of color and nonbinary folks already see themselves drawn as these exaggerated caricatures all the time (with those images being used to further discriminate against them). I’m sure the artist didn’t mean for their art to be offensive, but that of course doesn’t change how it was received. 

According to some, the poses and expressions the artists chose did not fully represent the characters entirely and only served to further perpetuate harmful stereotypes, and I’ll have to take their word for it because I still haven’t listened to the podcast so I have no idea how the characters act. But again much of the criticism is based on the one line-up and doing a deeper dive into the artist’s work I managed to find artwork that was much less offensive. Here some art where Vespa is depicted in a non-violent pose and one where Vespa is in a threatening pose but not an overly violent one. Here is Peter drawn in a non-seductive pose. Hopefully, the artist truly does keep the criticisms in mind as they work on the new official art. I’m just not the type of person that wants to get the pitchforks out and cause this particular person to lose a job they seemed really excited about over their old character line-up, especially when that person is also part of a marginalized group.

Again, that’s just my opinion on that particular artist. Those who are offended by their art are still valid in how they feel, and the artist should absolutely take their criticism to heart to better how they represent the characters.

What I’m more upset about is that I think The Penumbra Podcast should never have released official art for their characters in the first place and that’s their mistake that they refuse to own up about. They have made it clear that the story was never meant to portray characters of colors, a fact emphasized by the fact they hired mostly white actors from the start. They only started releasing art of the characters to get a profit. And the thing is they know what they did was wrong. All I had to do was search Penumbra Podcast racism and there is a note on their website saying that they archived some old official art.

“We have discontinued all Penumbra merchandise that uses the original character designs, and in the meantime, any profits on the sales of that merchandise will go to the For The Gworls project. We also realize that the depiction of these characters as POC, while not appropriate for us to use in our marketing and merchandise, has nonetheless become personally meaningful to many POC listeners. For that reason, and because we do not wish to distance ourselves from our mistake, we are keeping these images on our website for archival purposes. Though we do want to make it clear that many of the main/featured voice actors are white and that we did not write the characters to represent any specific POC experience, you are, as always, free to imagine these characters in any way that you like.”

I went to their shop and they still sell posters and pins with the character’s faces on them, but they are donating it to a good cause so hopefully that stays the same. However, I still find it a little uncomfortable that they are still selling character merch and have plans to continue selling character merch. They have no right to dissuade the fans that already found representation in the characters, but they also have no right to profit off the representation that was built, regardless if they made the story. 

Let’s compare this to another piece of popular media. I love Avatar the Last Airbender and, I liked the ATLA voice actors just fine but there should have been more people of color doing voice acting behind the screen too. The voice actors for that show were mainly white too, however, the creators knew that they would be making poc characters. That’s what makes the difference. Did they still choose to go with mostly white voice actors? Yes. Could they have done better and pay more people of color? Also yes. But I’m not as furious at them because they did their research on the cultures they were basing the ATLA world off of and intentionally gave us a show where Asians could see characters that looked like them represented on the screen. The Penumbra Podcast did not do any of that. Again, they openly admitted that it was never their intention to make the character’s people of color when they made the podcast so that goes to show no research was made to properly represent specific cultures. The color of the character’s skin in their official designs therefore became more of aesthetic choice rather than representation, and it wasn’t even their aesthetic choice to begin with!

Race isn’t a color you can just throw onto the character because you feel like it. So I want this to be a lesson to anyone that wants to make a podcast: if you want to include poc characters please do some research into the cultures you plan to represent the way you would with any other form of media. Just because the audience can’t see the characters and just because it’s harder to smoothly introduce the character’s appearance doesn’t mean you’re allowed to be lazy on how you present the characters. Do research before you start writing the first episode and take the time to hire poc actors. Hiring poc actors is actually the least that can be done to show representation. Also, since the audience cannot visually see the race of the characters on a podcast and it can’t typically be described the way you would in a book, you’ll have to be creative. It’s not my job to say how, but my suggestions would be, before the fans come up with their own image of the character, you need to establish race in the first few episodes or release character profiles on a website so that the fans know you canonically intended the characters to be of a certain race even if you aren’t able to mention it in the actual podcast. If you are unwilling to do any of these then the best route is to avoid stating race at all and allow the audience to build their own representation into your form of media. However, once this happens, you are not allowed to profit off popular fan interpretations. You lose all rights to create official art or images of the characters. You cannot use “we have a diverse cast of characters” when you market your story. It doesn’t matter whether you created the content or not, you did not create the representation for those minority groups.

It’s one thing for fans to build their own inclusivity into a form of art like a podcast, but it’s another thing for the creators who never worked to make the representation happen to take advantage of the representation that the listeners built for themselves. Thank you for attending my TedTalk.

A little disclaimer that while this is a masterpost (kinda), it could be read as discourse (duh, it’s also a theory), AND it’s also by me, and you shouldn’t expect me to be serious at this point.

Due to me restraining myself, there’s no reference to any of the times he’s mentioned his guitar skills and him improving but I hope you know I cried every single time.

Friday 28th of January 2022. Almost two years after Walls. It’s a Friday. It’s a 28th. What else can I say?

He said back on May 2th 2020 he wasn’t writing anything new yet.

Interestingly enough, he’s said many times after that that the album’s not ready cause he has no new experiences to drawn from. I won’t call him out because he does it himself.

May 4th. He liked a tweet from DMA’s Johnny Took saying they had to go write together again. Louis has been credited as an influence for them and (kind of) participated in their previous record, so I’m assuming he meant for their music and not his, but you never know.

Nothing(literally nothing??? how did we survive) until 11th of July. We all know what happened that day. We all celebrated it. Nonetheless, that’s not what I’m talking about here.

(x) So, by the beginning of July 2020 he was working on concepts and ideas for the new album. That was fifteen months ago. I know perfection takes time but…

Brief summary of important things that happened from then until the next mention of new music:

Louis left Syco!!!! 10 days later he rescheduled the tour for the first time. He followed Matt Vines on Twitter, probably so we could publicly shame him into doing something. Also, the 10thanniversary. He followed more people I wish he hadn’t.

Then more nothing until September. Not even a single tweet. The first merch drop was on the 28th of August but he just RT’ed the tweet. He first mentioned Free my Meal on the 25th of September. Then on October 1st Walls hit #1 on a lot of countries and Louis was incredibly happy and excited about it ^^

And then, that same day, October 1st, 2020, he dropped this bomb:

And, obviously, this tweet which is actually what made me start this whole post. I would hope you know mate.

He also told us he was cooking "banger after banger" and that he was incorporating more social themes into his music (x)(x) (I believe any social issue is a political issue but that’s not the point rn).

COPY OF A COPY OF A COPY?!?!

These next paragraphs are brought to you by my mind not remembering things and me not having any links. I’m assuming COACOAC came from those writing sessions that supposedly happened in October. Or in LA but I have no idea if he actually was in LA at any point other than a Daily Mail article putting him there on December which would have been too late, but I do remember that someone said he was in the studio in LA last autumn???? A rumor. Maybe. IDK. Did I mention already all of this is very hypothetical?? Well, this is it. I can’t even remember if this was October or November or what. So, take this with a grain of salt.

I’m also… taking the liberty to assume, if you must, that Copy wasn’t meant to be a Walls reject because it sounds more mature and darker and it has a vastly different tone that Walls songs. I know he’s said that song probably isn’t getting into the album, but I want to have faith (in the future) that I’m getting a studio version. (But also, Louis, if you’re reading this, first of all GET OUT OF MY BLOG second of all, please don’t ever feel pressured again to add a song to the album because we have already heard it before. It’s your art and it should always be under your own terms).

So yeah, I believe that Copy is either one of those four songs (then imagine the other three??!!) or was written around the 1st of October date.

Then not much important (other than sharing more about Marcus Rashford fight against food poverty and the 2nd merch drop) until he announced the livestream on the 24th of November. (x)

It wasn’t until a few days before the livestream date we even thought again about new music (jk, I know we’re always thinking about new Louis’ music). So, December 9th/10th, 2020. Nine months ago. We got our first taste of new music!

2021

Another Summary: Louis third tweet of the year was telling the UK government off. So was the fifth. What a good beginning. On the 26th of January, he said he prefers pancakes over waffles. I hope he meant pancakes other than his own. More importantly, he tweeted the infamous “you lot read into things too much”. Don’t get me started, Tomlinson. Don’t. Then the 31st came around and Walls was one. He tweeted this. How wise. And Project Defenceless happened!!

15th of February!! Who cares about Valentine Day when the next day we got this? ♥

So…AN EP?? AN EP?? PLEASE RELEASE AN EP.

“I’m sure I will have something out this year but unlikely that will be the album”. Unlikely but not impossible. Also. A single would be good. This is the second time he mentions releasing something in 2021 and he sounds surer about it than the first time around.

He also said that he isn’t sure we will get a studio version of Copy. And that the best bridges from Walls to LT2 are Walls, OTB, KMM and Copy. Can’t wait!

Then we jump to March 6th when he announced he was going to create his own management company. “Sometimes action is needed first to encourage the motivation and belief”. As we can tell he was already manifesting some stuff which will lead us to the numerology stuff/Tesla… kidding. Or not. We might never know.

On the 22nd of March he answered some questions:

He told us music was still his main focus ♥ mwha. (x) I included this tweet to guilt-trip him into giving us music in case he’s reading this even after I told him to leave. ILY.

On the 26th (so, not so far apart from that first 369) we got the first Faith in the Future mention: (x)

Back then we were innocent people who had no idea what was coming upon us. We still have no idea because what the fuck does he mean with these. Please explain. I have one braincell and I don’t use it enough for this. I’m linking some theories.

On the 30th of March he confirmed he was already working on the documentary. So AFHF was already on the works. Will it take this long for us to get the Veeps numbers? We also got this tweet: "Got a decent chorus idea down" (x).

Same person that got the “something out this year” exclusive. If you know something share with the class. Also. Is this Change? I feel like this could be Change but I also assume he wrote Change after hanging out with his friends or being in Doncaster. But who knows.

On the 19th of April he announced that he had something BIG for us later on the year which turned out to be the Away From Home Festival ♥♥ (x) I love him so much.

Then on the 28th he announced the 369 merch drop (which it’s probably the Walls drop? Except that the TOU and KMM ones were “drop 1 and drop 2” and this was drop 369 which, again, makes no sense) but we still don’t know what 369 means.

Into May’ 21 we go.

He rescheduled tour again. And dropped another bomb (x).

He announced he has signed with BMG as an independent artist by RTing this tweet on May 10th. The article also says that he’s already working on writing and recording LT2. The timing… we don’t know. What this deal involves… we don’t know either. Bear with me here because I have a lot to say about this.

I think the deal is only a distribution one, but that BMG are interested in Louis and what he (us) could bring to the table. They were either present at the festival or watching it, but officially they had no involvement at all with it (everything is credited either to Louis own company, 78 Productions, or Charlie Lightening’s company). That’s the case for both giveaways too; the vinyl one and the tickets for the festival.

I think it would be an unbelievably bad move not to test the waters with BMG now or soon-ish. At least a single, to see how it performs. Due to the circumstances, it’s obvious there’re certain limitations on place but I want to see how they push it, whether the radio play exist this time around and if the song is playlisted and promoted and all that… I would also love to know, since it says he signed with BMG UK, but it also states it’s a global deal, how things are going to go on the US and other countries.

Yes, yes. I know those are all questions and no answers. But I know the same as you, sadly. If any of you know more than you’re letting on… again, share with the class.

Where was I? Yes, on the 25th of May Louis had a great day writing (x). Since the first time he had mentioned he was officially writing to this date there’s almost eight months. And I believe he was writing before October’ 20.

He followed Robert Harvey that day and, on the 28th of May (why is it always the 28th???) he was spotted at the studio for the first time.

June was an interesting month for the fandom ♥. Lots of LHL content which I will love and cherish for the rest of times. On June 4th, June 9th, and June 10th he was spotted at the studio, but I believe he was there more days.

This was posted on June 6th and captioned Studio. Charlie also shared it with “Mega tunes being put down, can’t wait for this @louist91 #louistomlinson #LT2” as the caption. This gives me 2019 (Elton-Joint) vibes. I like it. Feels like we’re getting closer to something.

He added the Milano date on the 9th too which I’m mentioning because I’m going alone. Anyone wanna go with me please? I’m nice and I never eat anything before a concert so you can have my food. On other news. It didn’t come home.

During July he was at the studio at least three days too. Probably more. Feels like more with all the fan pictures we got. Or was that June? Anyway, July 1st and 9th we got some videos from Robert Harvey and wearesuperhi, which is who Louis has been working with the most, that we know of. I don’t know for sure they’re from that day. And on July 5th we got an article and lots of pictures of Louis looking really good outside the studio.

On the 12th of July the first fans started getting the free, 369 bucket hat and print. We still don’t know what the purpose was other than to thanks fans. Maybe that was it. I want answers and I still think it relates to a future project (see theories above), but it could also just be a bridge with the Walls breaking.

He didn’t tweet about anything interesting for a while, mostly because he lost his phone (he either throwed it in the air or smashed it who knows). Then on the 29th of July he announced the festival!

I’m glossing over it because there’s already been a lot of talk about it (rightfully) and while it was a wonderful thing, it doesn’t have much to do with LT2.

Let’s talk Change!

On the 16thof August Dave Gibson shared this post tagged #LT2 with the eyes emojis 👀👀👀. I believe this has to do both with Change but also with whatever else came out of that Mexico trip.

So, on the 30th of August we got Change and we cried, and we know that Change is going in the new album. He said it. With those exact words. He also said he was “getting a feeling for it”. This has to meant he already has a general idea of the vibe of the new album and what’s going in it!!!!!! (Right? RIGHT?).

Anyway, let’s go back a few weeks because some other things happened on August. He was at the studio a few more times. Or it was suggested that he was there. On the 17th and the 18th. (Why was it so time-pressing to be at the studio instead of rehearsing for the festival? There was no studio at all on the documentary. Which makes sense, but again, then why?).

On the day of the festival we got another mention of Faith in The Future that made me feel part of a cult ngl. The words were flashing on the screen for less than a second. Okay.

And then he tweeted those words again after watching the livestream/documentary on the 4th of September (x). This is what makes me suspect it's either the name of the album or of the single.

On the same day, we got some interesting quotes about LT2 on the documentary.

“Soon I’ll have to think about me second album, which in my head I’ll get the tour out of the way and then I’ll address that. So, I hadn’t really given it much thought, to be honest”.

“When every day is the same is hard to feel creative and it’s hard to have any kind of proper inspiration”.

“As season started to come back, I started writing again and it was great and some of these songs turned out alright”.

And I think this is it. I might be overlooking some important details but that’s what we know and what we don’t know.

So. Conclusions. That’s what you missed on Glee. I do believe the album is, if not mostly done, partially there. And yes, this post is pointless and never-ending but it’s all in here if you need to tell Louis “Hey, you said this, mate”.

Your last ask kind of bothers me, because the whole premise of the Shiina manga is that two of the protags were created through child grooming. It doesn't matter if you pirate it or not, you're just prioritizing the "official" content even though it's presented right alongside the OOC gross SR stuff. I get loving InuKag, but what's the difference between something official and a doujinshi anyway? Just the creators getting to make money off the brand. If Shiina wasn't doing the manga in partnership with the owners of the Inuyasha brand, you wouldn't take a second look at it because it's no better than the middling fanfiction written on AO3. But because it's "official" you're drooling all over it and willing to ignore all the context surrounding it?

Why don't you just go and find a good InuKag fan artist that doesn't support SR and support them instead?

This is going to be a very long and rambling post as I try to make my thoughts clear. on both this ask and the ask I got previously.

First of all, I myself don’t ship InuKag. I know, that’s basically blasphemy in this fandom, but I don’t. So if you’re trying to come for me personally anon, don’t bother.

With that out of the way, I was trying to offer an alternative to that particular anon. Some people can enjoy fan content but still prioritise canon content of their ships (even when it comes to something non-canon like Yashahime and even less canon still when it comes to the manga) just out of a desire to want to know what happens next. I don’t see quite as much with western media but there’s something about the culture of the anime and manga industry and how there’s almost always new merch being released of some sort that basically primes the consumer to want more, even when a series is long finished.

Then again, some people are just fandom purists and feel safer with content that has some semblance of official status. Remember that the iceberg that is Yashahime only hit the Inuyasha fandom relatively recently and a lot of people are still hurt, confused and trying to seperate being able to enjoy the original work without having to also support the sequel and, more importantly, creators who allowed this to happen even if it isn’t canon. The Harry Potter fandom is proof that you can completely separate the work from the author and their problematic decisions and still enjoy the work itself, but as I said, the Inuyasha fandom is still collecting itself from the fallout.

As for me, I like InuKik and SessKik and I will always heavily support queer ships over straight ones. I’m in no way dismissing your point of supporting fan content and fan creators bc there’s literally no chance I’m going to get any content at all if it’s not fanmade, and I create fan content myself to continue that goal onwards. Many of us are already going the route that Harry Potter took and are contributing more of our own content that completely separates off the distressing elements introduced to the fandom. I’m pretty sure people will come around as it’s already happening, but in the meantime I’m trying to be understanding of how upset communities like InuKag and MirSan will still be.

In the meantime, in regards to said spinoff that’s being made about the newlywed couples, while I’ve recommended pirating as the best way to enjoy it without financially supporting it, I do want to warn people at the same time. Remember this is still a Yashahime-centric project. I understand that previous anon loves InuKag and wants more of them, but look at his InuKag has been treated by Yashahime so far. Not only are they no longer the heart of the narrative, they’re reduced to a bastardised version of the original that allows and fawns over Sesshomaru’s violation of Rin, and then said bastardised version we’re left with is all but absent from the story.

To previous anon, I understand being comfortable with more ‘official’-ish content and as I said, if you must look at it then don’t financially contribute to it, but remember that this is not a series that has been kind to, understood or valued InuKag. The only reason this series is being made, I said some time ago, is because it’s attempting to use InuKag as a cover to try and push the SessRin narrative more. As current anon is pointing out, any new content with InuKag is going to be stained by SR and the context around the sequel.

There’s no shortage of InuKag events that have happened this year and plenty of master posts of good content. I think I saw somewhere that’s there’s a zine in the works. I can’t tell you how to spend your time or money on the internet, but if it was me, I’d be supporting fan comics and doujinshis, instead of official-but-not content that doesn’t treat my OTP fairly. Just something to think about.
