Autumn Messages Pick a Pile
Hello, and welcome to your autumn spirit message. These are mini-readings about what you need to be made aware of for this season. I’m Deerborn, energy medium & tarot reader. I use my intuition to help when you need guidance, feel stuck, or want to understand yourself at a deeper level. All messages are always meant for your highest good. Please note that my readings do not serve as medical or legal advice; I am not liable for how you use the provided messages. If you enjoy your reading and would like to leave a tip, tap here. Book personal readings here.
Are you ready?
Take a moment to look at each of the 3 images. Take a few deep breaths. Ask your Spirit Guides for help if needed. Allow your intuition to guide you.
Which will you choose?
When you’re ready, scroll down to your pile. Thanks for reading!
Pile A
Ace of Pentacles & 10 of Wands
This season, you're being presented with a new beginning. There are going to be multiple opportunities for you to grow and expand in exactly the ways you’ve been dreaming of. If you've been working on manifesting something, this season is when it will come to be; and it may not take the form you’re expecting. If you feel blocked with this, make your manifestation intentions less specific. Sometimes we can make too many guidelines for the Universe, which makes it more difficult for things to align. Because Pentacles often represents finances, there’s likely to be some unexpected money coming in. This could take the form of a gift, finding money tucked away. or a raise, or booking higher paying commissions/gigs. Spirit wants you to know that what's coming for you will require some hard work, but nothing you can’t handle. It will be a matter of listening to your body and honoring when you’re getting tired so you do not burn out. Persevere, and you will see amazing things come out of it! You're strong and capable. Reach out for help as needed, please know you don't have to do it all on your own. There are people that will be glad to support you and see you grow! Happy fall, friend!
Pile B
7 of Wands & The Hermit
This season, you're going to be met with some challenges. These don’t always come from your environment; they can come from within. I’ve often seen 7 of Wands in regards to self limiting beliefs, comparison syndrome, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, even anxiety, ocd, etc. Your Spirit Guides want you to know that they’re always supporting you to overcome these obstacles, whatever they may be. They provide their protection and healing when you need it. Remember, they cannot interfere with free will, so if you need assistance, you must ask them. If you have trouble receiving their messages or energy, try using an intuitive tool, like a pendulum, oracle or tarot cards, runes, etc. Spirit also wants to remind you that your inner guidance will best lead you. When you feel like you're fighting against the current, take a time out to tune into your inner wisdom. Find sanctuary so that you can gain perspective before jumping back in. If you’re moving through a difficult or dark time, be careful not to isolate too much. This will exacerbate feelings of loneliness, sadness, anxiety, negative self talk, or any negative energy. Allow yourself time alone, but do not forget we all need some support. Happy fall, friend!
Pile C
4 of Pentacles & The Lovers
This season, you're doing your best to hold onto something, likely resources and money, but this could also simply be referring to your energy. You’re budgeting something, being mindful and aware of the needs of your future self. By saving or holding onto things, or energy, it gives you a better sense of control, and maybe control is what’s really needed right now. Spirit wants you to know that while it's wise to save for the future, you still need to live. Be careful that you aren't completely shutting yourself out from the world in order to watch your budget (financial, energetic). Instead of completely restricting yourself, make smart choices on where your energy or money is going. Time with friends will be a great way to have fun without spending too much money. Or, treat yourself, no matter how small, to some self care. Use what you have on hand. There is a way for you to come into balance without feeling restricted. A path toward harmony is available to you right now. Trust that the Universe has your back. If things feel stagnant, look around you to see what can be let go of. Maybe it’s time to go through your home and donate some items. Happy fall, friend!

- If I had a nickel for every time I posted a photo of a goose and it ended up getting over a thousand notes, I'd have two nickels. I would say 'who can fathom the whims of the tumblr audience', because photos I love often go totally unappreciated in favour of something random I shared on a whim, but clearly there is a trend here. Also, the first time around I warned new followers the goose was a one-time phenomenon, and clearly I lied. There may well be future geese, just keep your expectations reasonably low.
- The other day I was talking to a Japanese friend about how jarring it is to overhear one's native language when living somewhere it isn't spoken often. Forced to eavesdrop because you can't not understand it! (Unlike the blissful white noise attained by zoning out around a language that requires some focus to understand.) Recently a loud American guy has started turning up with a companion at my local breakfast joint and inflicting this very situation upon me at high volume. I might not mind so much if I couldn't still hear him when they sit at the very back of the shop and I at the very front. To be fair, a) they come at the same time daily so it's within my power to simply go earlier and b) I'm sure I've tormented enough people with my own public English conversations (although I don't think anyone will ever accuse me of being loud, after a lifetime of complaints that I'm nigh inaudible). In a moment of pettiness, however, I decided to bring my loud Canadian friend today and sit in the back at their usual table. "I can see why you call him your nemesis" he commented, after witnessing [hearing] the state of things. I felt somewhat validated.
- Further brekkie shop gossip (what a fulfilling social life I have, you see): my slutty bisexual summer completely failed to manifest, but we can still have awkward bisexual autumn. Last week the cute guy who also eats there regularly and I ended up putting our trays away at the same time. He looked at me (probably on the simple basis that I was standing next to him). I glanced back and then quickly away. Outside the shop, he was organising his scooter when something possessed me to make direct eye contact. He gave me the nod, and something possessed me further to smile radiantly in response (albeit under the mask). He smiled back. I ran away.
- Because I agreed to model for a friend at a rope class this weekend, I have been faithfully abstaining from anything that could overly aggravate my ribs in their healing (although this also means I haven't been socialising much, hence the most interesting thing recently being the breakfast shop dynamics) and just going biking instead (safe enough so far). The blissful but brief window of perfect fall weather I waited for all summer has already started edging into "I could go outside and gambol about without getting too sweaty, buuut actually now I'm cold and would like to stay under the blanket." (Complain as I might, I actually do appreciate the return of boot & coat season. Or at least for myself, raised somewhere around the 43rd parallel north, since it's apparently always boot & coat season for locals.)
- I suppose the counselling I started has been having some effect, because I've begun to get some of my shit together (some, not all, but better than nothing). However, I think I will still have to do my December visa run (that ironic ticket to Macau). Because I haven't bought a return yet, I started to ruminate on the possibility of getting another Chinese visa (my previous one was invalidated when I updated the personal details on my new passport)- I could in theory take the ferry to Hong Kong and do it at the same agency where I got my first one, except that things have changed post-Covid and one must enquire personally about their rates and conditions. I may have enquired and am awaiting a response...
#my friend thinks this is far too much fuss and i should just go to manila#he also didn't have a great time on his first and so far only china trip this fall#ngl i still want to take the train to mongolia one day (but not in winter! hence why i'd only apply if i can get multiple year & entry)#i think i considered applying to work at a visa agency or document authorisation agency once but the salary was not thrilling#if you are reading this and recognise yourself as the Loud American Man tbh we could possibly be friends but also shhhhh

We Seek That Which We Shall Not Find, Chapter 7
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6
Written for @k-itsmaywriting as her prize for winning the Trope Madness kitty last March! I’d make the usual groaning noises about how late I am, but honestly...this is about as good as I could do this year XD
“So let me get this straight.” Obi’s long fingers steeple over his character sheet. “Not only is homeslice the lord of this particular castle and its whole dealie--”
“Demense,” Kiki offers.
“--Right, demense. That sounds fancy enough. So he’s not only the big wig of this demense place, but also--” her stomach curls to match the trajectory of his smirk-- “my lady’s boyfriend.”
“Ah! It’s not like that!” Shirayuki waves her hands, attempting to scuttle this whole avenue of inquiry. “He’s not-- we’re not-- together.” She dares a glance at Izana. “I...think?”
His mouth twitches; no comment. This may be presumptuous of me, one of his first texts reads, burning a hole in her pocket, but would you be open to a potential failed betrothal in your backstory?
There was no way for her to know, not when her only image of Zen’s older brother was a blond man behind a backseat window, waiting in the school parking lot, but still, still--
I’m open to whatever you think would go best, should not have been her answer. Every poster on r/tabletop would have called her...well, nothing polite, that’s for one.
“I mean, maybe...technically?” She’s not entirely sure how fourth century betrothals work, especially fantasy ones. “Lynet is under the impression that this was all dissolved for, ah...” Izana offers her a beatific smile, like an angel before it sets fire to a city. “...reasons.”
“But officially,” Obi presses, “he has dibs.”
Her mouth pulls flat. “I guess if you’re the sort of person who thinks you can call dibs on a sentient being with free will, yes.”
“Right,” Obi bulldozes on, oblivious to the pothole he’s hurtling toward, “and now he’s throwing you this banquet--”
“The banquet’s for all of us,” Zen snaps, arms cross and cheeks flushed. “As a reward for saving Laxdo.”
“Oh, is that right? As I remember it--” Obi taps his chin, so thoughtful-- “Lynet was the one who figured out the whole compulsion thing. And who was it that broke the curse? Oh, right: Lynet.”
“No!” Shirayuki claps her hands to her cheeks. It would be nice if she could take even a fictional compliment without blushing. “You all helped!”
“See?” Zen cuts a hand toward her, smug. “It’s for all of us.“
“Oh yes,” Kiki deadpans, teeth peeking out from her smirk. “Moral support is just as important as actually solving the puzzle. I’m sure his lordship agrees.”
Mitsuhide rubs at his chin, stubble scraping over his palm. Four hours ago, he arrived clean shaven; now he’s sporting a five o’clock shadow. Shirayuki can only stare in wonder.
“I think...they might have a point.” He winces under Zen’s scowl. “Not that I think we weren’t important! But Lord Shuuka...”
He shrugs. It’s like watching mountains heave, but in a gentle, lovable way.
Kiki’s mouth twitches. “I have the distinct impression we were afterthoughts on that banquet invitation.”
“I’m the Prince of all the Britons and the Angles!” Zen shrills, slapping his hand on the table. “I’m not an afterthought.”
The room goes suddenly, awkwardly silent; the only noise the rattle of heating through the ducts. The exactly moment his words echo back to him is made painfully clear by the way he blushes, blotchy and red all up and down his neck, like he’s the one with a curse.
Kiki’s eyebrow nearly collides with her hairline. “You mean Arturius?”
“That’s what I said,” Zen grumbles, hunching down in his seat. “Or at least what I meant.”
“In any case,” Obi presses on, “what’s a king to a cute girl you’re gonna marry--?”
“We’re not engaged.” It’s pointless; Obi’s clearly concerned less about Lynet’s marital status and more about riling Zen up about it, but still. “I mean, not now.”
“Betrothed,” Izana interjects casually, tapping the end of his pen on his notebook. “It is different. Legally.”
Shirayuki nibbles on her lip, stomach wriggling in a concerned squirm. Nothing good comes of Izana getting pedantic.
“Sure, maybe you’re not now,” Obi allows with a shrug of his shoulder. “But come on, what better place is there to woo a medieval maiden than a banquet?”
“A ball,” Kiki offers, flat, at the same time Mitsuhide thoughtfully posits, “A stroll through the garden.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Zen snips, lifting his chin. “Shirayuki already said Lynet wasn’t interested.”
“Sure, sure. Hey, boss.” Obi pitches toward Izana with a smile that can only be described as looking for trouble. “How tall is this guy?”
For once, Izana seems flustered, eyelashes fluttering as he blinks down at his notes. “I’m sorry, come again?”
“This Shuuka dude. The lord here? The baron or whatever he is.” He rests his chin on his hand, smile sharpening into a feral grin. “How tall is he?”
“Ah...average, I suppose.” His brows knit, fingers shuffling through his papers. “There aren’t any good estimates of height for this era, but I suppose if you wanted a modern equivalent...five-ten? Five-eleven?”
“Really? You don’t say.” Obi cuts his smile toward Zen. “And just how tall are you, Your Highness?”
Shirayuki winces at the flush climbing Zen’s neck; if they’d been outside, she’d have suggested some aloe vera before the burn blistered. As it is...
Zen’s fingers crumple the edge of his sheet. “Arturius is six-one.”
Obi hums. “How interesting.”
It is a fine day at Laxdo; this autumn may still have a bite, but it’s crisp, refreshing after so many days in the confines of the great hall. A great hall that is now transformed, tables and benches populating it instead of the sick. Most of the afflicted now hobble about the grounds, slow and unsteady, but healing; the few still confined to their sickbeds are only the elderly and previously infirm, and your attentions are a boon to them still.
The manifest is in your hand now, the last few names in your care curling across the page. It is those men on your mind now as you sweep through Laxdo’s bright corridors, striding through the tiger stripes the sun leaves across the rushes. Your burden is light now that the castle’s healer is back on his feet, able to help with potions and poultices and whatever else you are able to fashion to ease the weakness in your patients, but logistics are ever the enemy. Supplies were depleted before you arrived and have only been brought lower. Winter is just around the corner, and--
Steel rings through the stone. Metal on metal-- blades meeting. Out in the courtyard.
Your heart flutters wildly in your chest, and your pace hurries to match it. Surely, surely it cannot be an attack; not now, when Laxdo is but a shade of its former glory.
The certainty of pragmatism grips you, your stomach roiling in its clutches. But of course it must be. What lord could suffer the sweet temptation of a neighbor brought low? It would be nothing to sweep in here and take the manor for a second son, something to placate him, to keep him complacent for another dozen years.
You steel yourself, wishing you had more than the bare pouch of herbs and water skein you carry on you, and step into the blinding light of the arcade--
Only to see a crowd of men gathered in the yard, conspicuously not fighting. Oh no, they are cheering instead.
Your mouth pulls thin, and ah, fortune favors you, for the crowd parts just so, and there are two of your recently healed patients, bare steel in hand, fighting each other in the yard.
Violence is not in your nature, but oh, you are contemplating a change of philosophy.
“Lady Lynet.”
You should startle; time and experience have taught you to shy when approached from behind, but strangely...you do not. Shuuka comes to stand beside you, a respectful distance as is due to your station, but closer than you have been used to these last few months, and it is-- easy. Familiar.
The lord of Laxdo has certainly seen better days; his shoulders stoop as if he expects to be smaller, and the circles beneath his eyes are quite deep still, but-- he smiles, and it is easy to see that time will heal his ills, even these.
“Shuuka,” you murmur in greeting, leaning against one of the arcade’s columns. “It is good to see you on your feet.”
“It is good to be on them,” he assures you with a laugh that brightens the day around you. “I see you are taking in this fine weather.”
“I am. And so are you men, it seems,” you add, wry. “Whether or not I told them to.”
“I know you told them to rest,” he says, lips struggling to rein in his smile, “but it has been a long season for my men. To be outside after such a long sickness, to be moving as one ought--” the longing on his face is plain to see and painful to witness-- “perhaps you might allow them this. Just this once.”
You watch the men dance around each other in the ring, laughing and shouting, breathless from both, and let your jaw ease. “Just this once.”
Shuuka smiles, a bright, earnest thing, and it is so hard to reconcile him to the boy you knew all those years ago. The small lord’s son who viewed the whole world through a veil of tears. He’s grown up better than you could have ever hoped.
He leans on the pillar across from yours, eyeing you with an eager sort of wariness. “I have set the night of the banquet.”
“Oh?”
“Yes.” His skitters away, back toward his men. “Tonight. If-- if you allow it.”
“Oh!” You had not-- this was not-- you are not even prepared--
“Hey, you!”
You both jump, heads swinging to where Arturius storms across the yard, looking as unrelenting as winter itself. “You and I must have words, Lord Shuuka!” He glances at you, mouth pulled thin. “Privately.”
Shirayuki considers herself well read.
An understatement, actually; a well-crafted cover for the amount of hours she’d spent curled up in the B&B’s window, devouring books Jaja bought by the box at a yard sale, or the amount she could carry in her arms from the library.
(The maximum was supposed to be five at any one time, but during on particularly slow summer in middle school, the librarian had made a special “all you can carry” policy, applied solely to Shirayuki. It had turned her daily trips into weekly ones, and saved her from slowing her pace to a crawl Saturday nights, so that she could have something to read on Sunday)
She doesn’t have a favorite book-- just thinking about culling the list to top ten makes her break out into a cold sweat, let alone one-- but she has formative ones. Ones that became annual re-reads or just stuck with her, claiming a stake in the back of her mind, ready to whisper the words she needs when she wants a laugh, or the rest of the world gets too hard to handle.
So it’s no surprise when she looks at Obi, his grin stretching impossibly, gleefully wide, and thinks Cheshire Cat. It only makes sense, since she’s fallen down the rabbit hole.
“Well now,” he drawls, far too pleased. “I think we all saw this coming.”
Kiki arches a brow. “What? Because you goaded him into it?”
“Princess,” he gasps, hand pressed against his chest. “Would I purposefully rile up the Prince of all the Briton and the Angles?”
“Absolutely.”
His retort is lost, cut off by the heavy tread of Zen clomping down the stairs. If Shirayuki thought some hallway time might help him cool off, well-- that notion is instantly disabused when he turns the corner on the landing. If anything, he’s more agitated, neck flushed and mouth flat, slouching over to his seat like he’s asking for someone to start a fight.
Izana is not much better, even if his annoyance is more subtle. He settles into his chair with lips pressed thin, the corners of his eyes crinkled in a way that does not suggest good humor.
“Now if no one else has any more business,” he says, voice a trembling thread of his patience, “I think we can skip right to the feast.”
Shirayuki shifts, biting her cheek. It’s not important, it really isn’t but still-- “Um...”
Izana peers up from his notes, brows raised with a shocking lack of sarcasm. “Did you want to do something, Shirayuki?”
“Oh, no, I just, um...” She rolls a corner of Lynet’s sheet, tight and neat under her stubby fingernail. “I just wanted a...clarification?”
He blinks, flipping a hand out in encouragement. “Go on...?”
“It’s only, ah....” It’s silly, she knows that, but she’s already started asking. “Is this an...informal feast?”
Izana’s mouth parts, just slightly. “I’m...sorry?”
“I thought I would ask since Lynet didn’t exactly pack her, um, fanciest gowns.” Her cheeks flare with heat, and ugh, she really just should have let the chips fall as they may on this one. At least if the stares she’s getting from the rest of the table are any indication. “She was traveling light.”
“I...” His mouth opens once, then shuts. Opens again, brows furrowed. “Lord Shuuka has seen fit to outfit you all accordingly if you did not have appropriate clothing for the evening.”
She means to thank him, maybe even ask what might qualify as proper dress for a celebration such as this, but--
“So what you’re saying,” Obi interjects, grin slanted and sly, “is that Beaumain’s got some sick new threads.”
Regret etches itself on every plane of Izana’s face. “...Yes. I suppose.”
“Ha.” Obi leans back, eyes tracing a searing trail up her from heels to hairline. “Then yeah, I got something I want to do before this shindig.”
Had the Lord Himself but asked you if there were women in Laxdo, you would have sworn upon the grave of your mother that you and Morgaine were the only two. Surely you had treated none when the castle was under its curse. But when you attempt to beg off the feast, explaining that you are not properly clad for such a celebration--
Well, Shuuka finds you a gown easily enough. Your fingers linger over the remarkable wool, woven thin and tight, dyed a rich indigo. Woad, you think, though your own forays with it never yielded a color so impressive. The linen kirtle is the same, so light it might as well be air, and oh, you may be born a lady, but never did the Castle Perilous have such luxury.
A knock lands lightly upon your door, a quick little ditty sketched on oak. You’ve heard it before, though you can’t remember the words, or even the tune, just the beat. Ba-ba-bum. Bum-bum. A song from a better time.
You shake yourself. Song it may be, but a summons it is still. And you are the one who must answer it.
The door is heavy beneath your hands, but you coax it open with little effort. Behind it is the evening’s shadows, thick in the growing dim, and the gold that shines from them.
“Ah Beaumains,” you murmur as his outline resolves into a man, one dressed as fine as you. His colors are more subdued, the black of the shadows and the deep blues of his skin, humbler than any words that have passed his lips. “I was not expecting that you would, um...?”
“I am your escort, my lady.” He bows over his arm, a gallant. His pose gives the distinct impression of mocking Bedwyr, though the man himself is not in evidence. “What sort of shield would I be if I let you walk into the fray alone?”
“Ah...” You stare at his sleeve as he holds it out to you, hesitant. “I suppose that would be...unseemly, yes.”
“And I, the height of propriety.” His teeth flash like a knife’s edge as you slip your hand around his elbow. “Lucky, too.”
Your brows raise. “Oh?”
“Of course.” He shrugs; every inch a siege. “I get to see how nice you look before everyone else.”
“Hey!” Zen directs the brunt of his scowl toward Izana, though the angle of his glare is easily wide enough to include Obi. “Why is Beaumains getting this scene?”
“This scene?” Izana drawls, utterly mild. “Do you mean the conversation he just had with Lynet in her chambers?”
“Yes!” Zen’s jaw sets into an ill-tempered jut. “If anyone, Arturius--”
“You mean the scene wherein Beaumains takes the opportunity afforded by his current occupation to further their flirtation,” Izana continues, “the flirtation in which both players have built upon from their character introductions?”
A flush licks flames up her jaw, threatening to blaze across her cheeks. It’s one thing for it to happen, it’s another thing for everyone to just talk about it.
“...Yes.”
Izana raises a brow. “Because he asked.”
And it’s a whole other thing to do it like she wasn’t even here.
“Well, I want one too!” Zen pushes, hands gripping at the table. “Arturius--”
“Is missing the point that the DM is making,” Kiki supplies, deadpan. “Which is that Lynet is also choosing to have this scene too.”
Zen sputters, red-faced. “I know that! Shirayuki wouldn’t have any problem if Arturius wanted to--”
“Arturius is having a very long, very pointed heart-to-heart with the lord of Laxdo,” Izana reminds him. “Or have you forgotten?”
“Well, it’s not like that took all day!” he protests. “I have time to do both.”
Izana pinches the bridge of his nose, letting a long, noise breath out. “The next half hour is not going to be all and sundry complimenting Lynet on her sartorial choices.”
“It’s not everyone, just Artur--”
“Why not?” Kiki tilts back her chair, wedging her knees against the table. “Morgaine wants to tell her she’s beautiful too. How about Bedwyr?”
Mitsuhide stares at her, slack-jawed, before darting a worried look toward Iana. “W-well,” he says finally, with a hard swallow, “he certainly wouldn’t be able to disagree.”
Izana stares at Kiki, nonplussed. “Well then,” he drawls, mouth settling into a disconcerting smile. “What do you think, Shirayuki?”
She’s already pink, but with everyone’s eyes on her, her skin burns to a painful red. “M-me?”
“Shall we allow Arturius--” he darts a quelling glance at Kiki-- “et al to have their moment with Lynet, or shall we press on to the feast?”
Zen smiles at her, so kind and warm, just like he did that first day at school, and she-- she wishes that this wasn’t up to her. It’s not as if she minds the compliments-- fictional as they are-- but Beamains’ had been spontaneous, inspired by the moment, and this--
--Zen settles back, his smile curling smugly at the corners. His gaze is no longer on her, oh no, it’s on Obi, the challenge written clear in his eyes--
--has nothing to do with the game, and everything to do with the people playing it.
“I think,” she begins without a tremor in her voice, “I’m fine with moving on.”
Zen’s jaw drops. “What?”
“You heard the lady.” Izana lips twitch behind his paper screen. “She is content with only Beaumains’ love making.”
Shirayuki jolts. “That’s not what I sa--”
“Anyway,” he continues, ignoring his brother’s glare and Obi’s grins in response, “it’s the feast now.”
This is no longer the great hall you remember.
Or perhaps it is if you search your earliest memories; if you allow yourself to remember being seated upon the dais, a cushion placed beneath you so that you might reach the table and impress the court with your grace. You did not-- you sister would have, were she allowed, but it was you who would be sent to marry at Laxdo, not her, practically an infant still. It was no disaster; it was not your beauty that had brought the lord of Laxdo to break bread with your father.
“Lady Lynet!” Shuuka rises on the dais, holding up a hand. “Please, come here!”
It is perhaps a different tale now.
Still, this no longer resembles the hall in which you have been toiling in these long weeks. That was a dark, stifling place, the miasma of curse and compulsion lingering for days after you had dispelled them. But this--
This is a new country entirely. Candles twinkle in their holder overhead, the ceilings so high they seem as distant as the stars themselves. Bodies no longer line the hall but instead pack benches, the men dressed bright and boisterous, ale already flowing from their cups.
“Surveying your domain?”
You blink, eyes blurring as they settle on the shadow beside you. His teeth flash white against the indigo of his lips, too amused. “N-no! I was only thinking of how changed this place is. Only days ago man laid head to toe, and now...”
He tilts his heads, horns glimmering in the candlelight. “Now they are all hidden away, and we play at heroes.”
It is only the rough wool beneath your fingers, wrapped around the hard curve of his shoulder, that tells you once again you have acted without thinking. You cheeks burn as you pull away-- to think, you raised a hand to him as if he were one of the tenants’ children chasing you around the courtyard, as if you had known him all your life.
“Oh, my lady,” he clucks. “How rough you are with your servant--”
“You were unkind,” you murmur heatedly. “There are few enough that are still ailing, and they would be better served in their rooms. There is no harm in Laxdo’s lord wanting to celebrate their good fortune.”
“Mayhaps.” His nose wrinkles. “A little ridiculous, you must admit.”
You snorts, unladylike. “Says the one who polished his horns.”
Ah, now the shoe is on the other foot. His gaze is quick to drop from yours, expression rumpled with annoyance. Beaumains may be eager to ridicule the pageantry of the nobles, but he enjoys it as well.
“Come on then.” His arm tugs at yours, not gentle. “Let’s see what your skill has won you, my lady.”
You sputter, feet stumbling as you attempt to keep pace. “As I said, I am not--”
“Ah.” Beaumains mouth curves slyly, eyeing the tables he leads you past. “You may not be taking their measure, but it seems tonight they will take yours.”
It is only his words that make you notice; conversations quiet as you pass, the men’s eyes following you not with hunger, but with curiosity. For the first time, you prefer the former more than the latter.
“I cannot see why.” You take pains to place your feet more carefully, to strive for that ladylike bearing your sister achieves so easily. “They know me already.”
“But tonight is different.” He nods to the empty place beside Shuuka. You stomach drops when you see it is to his right. “Tonight they find out if you fit into the lady’s seat.”
You gut clenches. You did not come so far for this to dog your heels once again. “That-- that cannot be. I have been clear--”
“Lady Lynet!” Shuuka waves again, though more subtly. No need for grand gestures when you are already so close. “Come, take your place by me.”
Beaumains’ brows raise. “Are you sure?”
You thought you were, but the smile the lord gives you as you approach gives you doubts. Beaumains pulls out your chair, chin tucked respectfully, but you do not miss his amused smirk or his knowing look. Fine. He may think what he likes but this is not-- not that. Your betrothal is long in the past for both you and Laxdo’s lord.
“My women did well,” Shuuka tells you, friendly and bright, no hint of romance. “You look radiant, my lady.”
Well...not much of one, at least. “They have my thanks,” you reply, “I truly had nothing for a feast such as this.”
His smile widens, and it does him credit that he keeps it as he turns to Beaumains. “Thank you as well, for escorting my lady.”
To his other side, Arturius scowls, glaring as your shadow performs a polite bow, no respect spared. The same he categorically refused to show the prince. “My pleasure, your lordship.”
“You honor us with your actions, Sir Beaumains.” Shuuka gestured past her, hand open in generosity. “Please, take the seat next to the Lady Lynet, I--”
A chair scrapes across the dais, and Arturius stands, as thunderous as any storm. “That man is no sir.”
The room is so quiet it practically has its own crickets. Or at least it would, if the atmosphere hadn’t suffocated them all. Shirayuki has admit, she’s feeling a little stifled herself
Mitsuhide shifts, chair creaking, mouth grim. “Zen...”
“No,” he snaps, still on his feet, red-faced and tense as he squares off with his brother. “It’s ridiculous! He’s a commoner.”
Izana peers up from his notes, raising a mild brow. “Is this really something you think is appropriate to pursue right now?”
Speaking fluent teacher like she does, Shirayuki hears the warning loud and clear: back down. But of course, Zen doesn’t.
“Beaumains doesn’t belong on the dais,” he reasons angrily. “He should be down at the tables with the vassals and retainers.”
Izana’s expression doesn’t betray a single thought, smooth as still water. “I must concede the point, technically, but as he is a member of your party, it would make sense if--”
Zen barks out a laugh. “Oh, you’re such a stickler for accuracy, but now you’re going to break a simple rule of hospitality--”
“It’s for ease of play--”
“It’s meta gaming.”
If she’d thought the room was quiet before, she’s disabused of the notion now. All motion has ceased; even Kiki holds her breath, eyes fixed on Izana who-- who--
Stands. Or rather, unfurls; every inch is a journey as his long limbs draw straight. It’s hard to remember when Mitsuhide can hardly fit both his thighs on a dining chair, but Izana is tall, a good ten inches above her perfectly respectable 5′4. He uses every bit of that to his advantage as he looms over his brother, eyes cool and steady. “I think--”
“It’s fine.”
Obi lounges in his chair, ankle cross over knee without a care in the word. Big Dick Energy, Kihal would tell her, and wow, she really does not need to be thinking about that right now, in the middle of all this.
His lips slowly spread into a grin that does not help her brain stay on the straight and narrow, not one little bit. “Beaumains can sit among the masses.”
“Obi...” His head swivels to her, and oh, she really hadn’t meant to say that out loud, but-- it’s too late to turn back now. “You don’t need to--”
“Nah, nah, it’s no big deal,” he laughs, waving her off. “Let’s be real, given a choice between being in the box seats or getting trashed with the smallfolk, we all know which one he’d pick.”
Izana frowns, brow knitting. “As much as I appreciate your rationality in the face of the irrational, Obi, it isn’t necessary. It makes more narrative sense for Beaumains to be treated the same as the rest of the party--”
“Seriously, don’t worry about it, boss man. I can tank a hit for historical accuracy.” His gaze cuts to Zen. “In our fantasy roleplaying game where I play a demon and half the party does magic.”
Zen has the grace to look abashed, at least.
Izana lowers himself back into his chair, mouth set in faint disapproval. “You’re sure?”
“Yeah, no prob.” Obi grins, sending her stomach into a tailspin. “Don’t worry, my lady, Beaumains knows how to keep himself entertained.”
You may sit at the lord of Laxdo’s right hand, but it is Morgaine who sits at yours, as radiant as any song. By all rights, she should be in your place; base-born she may be, but king’s daughter outranks a count’s, even born on the wrong side of the sheets. Still, she makes no protest when she takes her seat, only curling her lips in one of her mysterious smiles.
Shuuka is an attentive host, selecting the choicest cuts from the trays and laying them upon your plate. He chooses well for you, each morsel a delightful burst of flavor upon your tongue, but still--
Beaumains’ teasing spoils your every bite. It does not escape you that your host is not paying Arturius the same diligent attention but-- one does not feed a king. Or, rather, a prince. And you, well-- you would be the first to say that the curse was ended by the efforts of your whole party, but you know the men of Laxdo hold a different opinion.
(And for that matter, so does Beaumains, which he shares loudly and without prompting whenever possible, much to Arturius’ ire. It is flattering, but oh, you would much rather not be a needle used to provoke, no matter who holds it)
It is kind of Shuuka to pay you such an honor, but still, it leaves you feeling awkward, as if you were born with two left hands. You cast helpless looks to your right, but Morgaine only replies with sly smiles, ones that make your skin itch with expectation.
With no safe place to look on the dais, your gaze fans out over the press below. Lady you may be, but it’s the benches you are used to; your father had never stood much on ceremony, preferring to eat and be merry among his men, rather than make himself a proper lord. Even now you long to be among them; the talk may be bawdy and the drink more sour, but you would not suffer so many eyes upon you, measuring the curve of you breast and speculating on the red of your hair.
You do not look long before your eye catches on midnight blue and glistening horns; even dressed as a shadow, Beaumains is hard to miss among the lord’s men. He laughs, tossing his head back, hand pressed to his belly-- a truer one on him than any you have seen. To think, you had pitied him when Shuuka did not tender an invitation to the dais, but now--
Well, he’s certainly enjoying himself more than you are.
A sharp prod to your ribs sets you upright, your mind snapping back to the present, reminding you sharply that you are being watched and weighed by the same men you long to join. Morgaine pulls back her elbow, sending a pointed look over your shoulder. To Shuuka.
Shuuka, who is staring at you expectantly. Shuuka, who has almost certainly asked you a question that you did not hear.
Morgaine reaches for the wine pitcher, bumping your shoulder. “He’s asking if all this is to you liking.”
“Oh!” You stitch a smile to you face. “Yes. The fest is, ah...lovely. You do me a great honor. Ah, us a great honor.”
His own smile widens, sore pleased. “I am glad to hear it, Lady Lynet. It was my greatest hope that you would find Laxdo pleasing.”
You nod, awkward, before turning back to your meal. It is hardly touched, only a single bite from each dish, and you suffer a pang of chagrin to think you have so obviously ignored his generosity-- save that you notice everyone else’s plate remains untouched as well.
Shuuka’s chair scrapes across the dais as he stands, holding his arms wide. “Before we partake of this feast--”
Oh, Lord in Heaven, the blessing. You had forgotten it entirely. Your gaze darts guiltily across the table, trying to see whether the lord’s chaplain has caught your petty sin, but the only man of the cloth at the table is Bedwyr.
“--We must all give thanks to Our Lord in heaven, from whom all our bounty flows.”
A murmur of agreement shuffles out from the men at the tables, heads bowed with lips mouthing an impassioned amen--
Ah, right. Bowed heads. What she should be doing now, in this place of honor.
“I would be remiss if I also did not offer our gratitude to the Lady Lynet.” Your head snaps up, gaze tangling helplessly with his. “If it was not for her cleverness and diligence, not a single man would be standing here today.”
This is-- this is not the toast you thought he would make, not when he spoke of the feast this morning. Not when he had told you it would be in honor of those who saved Laxdo.
“We are blessed that the angels guided her back to us after so many years away,” he continues, every word adding to the pit of dread growing in your belly. “It can only be the provenance of Our Heavenly Father that she has returned, and in returning, removed the blight from our land. I would be turning my back upon God Himself and all His angels if I did not receive what blessing he has given us.”
You heart pounds loudly in your chest, rattling the drums of war. You had been so clear. You had said--
Not enough. Nothing short of an explicit refusal ever stuck in a man’s ear. you know this all too well.
It galls you that Beaumains knew it better.
“My father has passed, but his will has always been my guide.” Shuuka showers praises down on you, oblivious to how you wither beneath it. “It had been his wish to seen our houses joined, along with your father’s, my lady. I am eager to tread the path they left for us.”
You want to protest, you mean to protest. But all of the eyes of Laxdo are upon you, and-- and your hands clench helplessly in your skirt. For a man to be refused after such a speech, after such feeling, in front of all his men--
It would be kinder to leave a blade in him. At least that he might recover from.
Your gaze swivels to your left, to your right, but Arturius sits, stunned, and his sister is much the same. The moment for an objection has passed for them, for all those who sit on this dais, but on the floor--
You cast your gaze out, searching, hoping, but--
Beaumains is not among the tables, not anymore.
The chair squeals across the floorboards as Izana stands, smoothing down his pants.
“Wha-- where are you going?” Zen stares at him, jaw slack. “We’re in the middle of a feast. This jerk just proposed!”
Izana flips his phone, screen out, and there is Obi’s name, right at the top of his messages. hey boss can b get himself some quality hallway time
It buzzes, followed up by a long string of hot lips emojis, double hearts, and what looks like an eggplant..
“Well,” Kiki drawls, “now I know too much.”
Izana glances at his screen before swinging to glare at Obi. “Really?”
He shrugs, gleefully pocketing his cellphone. “Hey, you set it up. I just took the shot.”
“Well, I suppose I can’t argue that.” Izana sighs, gathering up his dice. “Give us a moment.”
“Don’t rush on our account,” Kiki hums, mouth twitching at a corner.
Izana groans, shaking his head. “At least pretend you’re going to behave.”

26.Relax The Hold Of Darkness And Be At Cause
from the Sacred Rebels Oracle Card deck, by Alana Fairchild, artwork by Autumn Skye Morrison
Relax The Hold Of Darkness And Be At Cause: “Dear sacred rebel, this moment in your life requires great courage. Fortunately you possess that in bucket loads. You are beings asked to allow yourself to be lifted out of one level of known reality and into the next level of higher voltage reality. Higher voltage reality requires a more absolute trust and a heart that is surrendered into the greater heart of the universe, so that life can happen to us, through us and with us, more quickly, more radically, more beautifully and more boldly. You are now beings invited into this new reality where things happen quickly and according to bold, loving optimism. This is a reality not only of potential, but of manifestation of the great, big cosmic YES!
To access this reality, you have to leap from known waters and others may think you are crazy for doing so. You have to leave behind the dark weighty grip of hesitation, procrastination, second guessing and the belief you have to do everything on your own. You may fear for our life! How will you be safe in the wild, electrical pulse of so much aliveness? How will you function without the hazy, sleep-inducing paralysis of playing it safe, taking too long and placing lesser priorities above your sacred art of life? How will you hold yourself back if you do not hold on to fear? You do not need to worry about such things. Life is wild, but it is also wise. It is a force of startling raw awakening at times, but it is also the natural process of evolution where all things mature according to a seasonal cycle, in right timing. You are a part of, not apart from, that process.
The invitation to shift gears and jump on board the express train of life will feel exhilarating and perhaps also challenging. When you are in the hold of the darkness, you will feel pushed to turn away, to imagine it is all too much, and to create excuses about how your desires are not grounded enough, that you are being too flighty or flaky or that you are not living ‘in the real world.’ That is fear talking, not truth. If the sacred rebel is not awakened, we will continue to live in a culture drenched in fear and distrust of nature. Those without awakened hearts don’t yet understand what nature knows – she knows timing, she knows life and death, she knows the creative process, she just knows – and can be trusted to support us, her own creations, in becoming all that we can become.
Does this mean that we become passive and just flow along, like a limp leaf detached from the tree and blown about randomly by the breeze? No! Being free of the dark hold empowers us to take up our cause. This means being free to act and affirm the intuitive feelings we have by following up on them. This is painting like someone who has lost their mind, completely free and from the heart. It means writing even though you have no conscious idea of what you are writing, even as the words are streaming forth upon the page before your rather curious eyes. And, it means speaking about your work – never hiding it away. Detach from the darkness that would say it is not enough or must be the best thing ever – whatever that means – in order to be worthy of a place in the world. Instead, just let it be what it is! It might fly, it might endure, and it might not. All of nature, including you, and your passions and dreams, will be what is needed, when it is needed, and how it is needed, according to wisdom. We just have to trust in this, within ourselves and within nature herself through the flow of life. And participate!
You are asked to go within and imagine diving deep off the edge of what you have known. There is so much more calling to you now. It is your time. Leap.”
Healing Process: “Say, ‘ I accept the offer of life so that I may truly live. Through unconditional love I now invite and receive all assistance, intervention, protection and inspiration so that I may leap into my next cycle of life, held in the loving grace of wisdom. So be it.’
You may now like to take an actual jump for joy to finish your healing process.”*
~ By Alana Fairchild
This healing process is so powerful:
“ I accept the offer of life so that I may truly live. Through unconditional love I now invite and receive all assistance, intervention, protection and inspiration so that I may leap into my next cycle of life, held in the loving grace of wisdom. So be it.“
Say it out loud… outside if possible even better, get out in the forest. Place your spine against the largest tree you can find. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. See yourself in the healing chamber of Light, as depicted in the card; feel the green ray of healing energy penetrating every cell of your body, clarifying, purifying, healing, transforming. Releasing. See yourself receiving the bright white Love and Light, as much as your physical body can handle at this time. See the transformation take place; tangible in body, mind and Spirit. The density is removed. The fear is gone. Allow yourself to surrender, be vulnerable. Trust. Accept that this is necessary change, a sacred gift. Know that the assistance, intervention, protection and inspiration you have invoked is here, now. Breathe it in. Graciously accept this blessing of elemental healing and magic. Send gratitude. Leave a gift in honour, a stone, feather, flower or natural sacred object.
You are going to have to make a decision based on new knowledge and wisdom that comes with this transformation. A leap of faith is imminent. Take the plunge.
Jump high and don’t look back.
Namaste

3/17/19-3/31/19
Use your Sun, Moon, and/or Rising Signs for your tarotscopes! The tarotscopes for 3/17/19-3/31/19 were done by using the Fairy Tarot Deck & Angels of Abundance deck. (I was gifted these two new decks which aren’t my usual but wanted to test them out, let me know what you all think!)
Aries: Ten of Spring, #6 The Lovers, #16 Life Experience.
Recently you’ve been learning how cooperation and relying on others - or delegating at least - isn’t a burden. You’ve finally had enough of not receiving what you deserve despite everything you do and take onto your shoulders. Good for you Aries! You’ve been dragging yourself along under the weight of all your responsibilities and constant seriousness of life and work instead of giving yourself time to enjoy life and reap the rewards of your work now. It might seem that life has been pretty dull for you lately and you’re getting stuck in a rut; but never fear! This time is serving you because you’re learning to play well with others and bring harmony into your life. Aries, a lot of you are starting to see signs of your life partner coming into your life and as an added bonus; they very knowledge of their existence is having you re-examine some old, dead weight beliefs. As we move out of Pisces season you’re experiencing a MAJOR shift. The blessings of your season - the astrological New Year - are not holding back on you. NOW is the time to unashamedly proclaim what you’re manifesting into your life with the utmost confidence that you are deserving of it, especially after how hard you’ve worked. Your season is bring you a lot of eye opening moments and one of them is a spiritual location catching your eye to invoke a desire to travel! Be ready to find your direction in life as well as the people who are meant to share it with you; if you don’t discover all of this within the next few weeks then be aware you are going to receive signs of them and information on them.
Attracting Money: Gratitude List. If you find that attracting financial wealth in your life has been pretty difficult it has to do with the message above. You’ve been working so hard you haven’t had time to stop and smell the roses. The Angels of Abundance Oracle Cards suggest you take time to write a Gratitude List - try to write down five things at least three times a week. Be as detailed as you can so when you go over the list again in the future you can feel the same joy! Writing this list will instantly raise your vibrations, keep you focused on that feeling of joy and even freedom you’re seeking to continue experience and most importantly: remind you that joy is all around you and always at the tip of your fingers.
Taurus: #14 Balance, Nine of Autumn, Prince of Autumn.
These next weeks as we go from Pisces season into Aries - the astrological new year might have you at a crossroads. You’re being faced with a decision or at the very least, a problem to solve that you feel could affect where you go in life. It’s not something to take lightly but it is something you need to be able to release if needed. There’s no need to make a haste decision; instead, seek out external sources who might be able to offer you some insight on the situation and how they view it with you. While no one knows you better than you know yourself, they might pick up on things and offer wisdom that you’re much too close to the picture to see! It’s your attention to detail that’s going to save your day here, Taurus. Additionally, those of you who are embarking or trying to raise up your own business are going to start seeing some of the rewards you’ve been waiting for - take this as a sign to keep going. Aries season will push you further than you would have initially thought to go but it’s a lesson your big brother is coaxing you into. A common theme along these cards is that only one being is present at the time; take care of yourself and know that while you are never truly alone - you are at your best when given some time to work through things on your own. Be careful not to over reward yourself for a job well done; stay humble.
Attracting Money: Moonlighting. Staying true to your roots and need for stability; the Moonlighting card offers one strong piece of advice. . . Don’t quit your day job (just yet!) As you reach for the Moon with your dreams, remind yourself that you do still have bills to pay and as an Earth sign you’ve got some hard work ahead of you to make your dreams come true. They will come true but it’s important to also stay in the present as you work towards them. Make moves full of trust towards your dreams and know that they will come to fruition but until then there are still responsibilities that need to be taken care of. Find balance between work and self-improvement.
Gemini: Ten of Winter, Six of Autumn, Princess of Autumn.
As Pisces season ends; so does their hold on your reality. During Pisces season you may have been affected through the things that Pisces rules: you may have been emotional, more prone to insomnia or restlessness, and may have even indulged in a vice or two. The bright side here is that the next two weeks will be moving you away from this time and will be ending any negative routines you’ve developed. Your problems are over, Gemini! You’re also learning more about karma and the fact that she’s been keeping her eye on you; the good you have done for the world will return to you soon but this doesn’t mean you should stop doing good or start doing it only for what it brings back. When you leave your pride and selfishness behind; you become blessed with the best karma there is. There’s a strong sense of job change - be it to another location, starting your own business, or even a promotion - in the air! If you aren’t working but are attending school then know you’ll be acknowledged with the possibility of a scholarship. Keep your head firmly on your shoulders because the next few weeks require careful thinking and planning.
Attracting Money: Dreams of Abundance. If you’ve learned anything from Pisces and their season; hopefully it’s how much power dreams have to them. Learn to daydream; learn to direct your dreams (perhaps sleeping with your intention under your pillow!). This card itself, “Dreams of Abundance” suggests that you take note of the dreams that come to you naturally because they might have some insight on what your missing or need in order to succeed.
Cancer: #7 The Chariot, Eight of Autumn, Five of Summer.
Cancer, the Astrological New Year is all about controlling yourself. The situations you put yourself, the situations you are put into it, the people you allow in your life, the way you treat those people and the way you set boundaries and limitations for how you can be treated. You’re getting touch with your beliefs again; especially the belief that every road leads somewhere, that there is a reason somebody is your life - even if you don’t yet know what that reason is. It’s because of that belief, you’ve decided to revisit something of the past. And for once, it really does benefit you. If you’re looking to go back to school, or start an internship, even giving love to an old project of yours or simply getting back into old hobby/routine that used to bring you joy then you’re on the right track! Stop focusing on the negativity in your present, all it does is invite it for the future. It’s okay to bring attention back to the negative aspects of your life but don’t let them control you, your life, your day, your relationships. . . You have the divine right to be free. Focusing on the negativity can cause you to miss opportunities in your life - especially once in a lifetime ones. When you harp on the bad you are prolonging your suffering and using it as an excuse to stay safe within your cracked shell instead of moving forward to softer waters with less rocks and enemies. These next two weeks will be about cleaning out the people in your life and setting boundaries. . . Finally you are focusing on providing yourself with a healthy lifestyle! Cancer, if everything has a reason then there’s a reason so much wasn’t meant to stay in your life, a reason you’ve been through so much pain. . . but how do you get there? To the revelation of it all if you aren’t willing to move towards it’s glowing light?
Attracting Money: Savings. Whether or not you’re making big life changes - moving out of your parents house, going off to college, paying for something to enhance your appearance, etc etc - the best way for you, Cancer, to not only attract but keep money in your life is to start saving! Do some savings challenges if you have to or at least start budgeting better so you can save a bit here and there. You can never tell when you’ll need them and if you don’t need them - you’ll have a hell of a vacation! Like attracts like, by having a smile on your face everything you check your bank account that actually has a decent amount of savings in it; you’re attracting even more money your way!
Leo: Two of Summer, #15 Ego, Ace of Winter.
During Mercury Retrograde, you have been a victim of miscommunication Leo. You might have said that came off much worse than you meant for it to sound or you might simply have let your temper get the best of you; regardless of what happen you stirred up some problems and have been involved in others. The good thing is that those problems are finally coming to an end, they’re being resolved and for the most part they are being resolved, even healed! The challenges you must face that have come to light have you wanting to run for the hills especially since they’re bringing up so many emotions that you simply feel you can’t handle them. . . Most of your worry stems from the material security you feel you must have in order to survive. Leo, you’ve placed a lot of emotions into your material items - no matter how big or small - but you’re in the process of a change; if you’re not physically moving than your spiritually and emotionally moving and packing your life up into boxes while being unable to take things with you can take a big toll on your energy: like a lion in it’s cage! While you fear this change at first, that famous Leo ego will step in and remind you: it’s not scary, it’s an adventure in the unknown. Be sure to communicate clearly or do your best to quickly clear up any misunderstandings; give people time to cool off. Admit your wrongs. Separate yourself from the material and learn to forgive as well as to ask forgiveness.
Attracting Money: Visualize Abundance in All Forms. Blessed by the rays of light from your ruling planet - the Sun - it’s time to focus some of the light rays into your hopes. Utilize them; surround yourself in it’s light as you visualize attracting, receiving, accepting, the abundance you need in your life.
Virgo: #10 The Wheel, Three of Winter, #20 Renewal.
As backwards as it might sound - and as backwards as Mercury Retrograde is - you’ve been putting yourself into the past a lot more lately but with the intention of reviewing it honestly in order to make a better future for yourself Virgo, and that is admirable. As you venture between the past and the present, it’s important for you to keep an objective in mind these next two weeks or you will lose yourself in it. It’s helping you to become a stronger person, someone who can handle more and someone who can lay their armor down one day soon and celebrate with their spoils of war! But until that day comes for you there is a lot of reflective work to be done; something that you, as the overanalyzer of the Zodiac hate and love to do. Beginning the 19th you’ll notice that you’re gravitating towards people more, especially ones who appear as the “mom friend” in your life. If you need to be comforted, if you need to be supported then don’t make yourself sick by denying yourself those comforts and simply asking. Trust that the people who care for you want to be there for you but that they need your permission - even with something as small as a smile. Continuing your journey . . with a hint of luck from the Irish it seems that the next two weeks following St. Paddy’s day brings some very good fortune your way. It’s not expected either as it all seems to be very spur of the moment; the wheel never stops spinning and so, life can be rather unpredictable at times. . . As the wheel of the world spins, the wheels in your life start turning as well and there’s no more time for waiting or postponing. Additionally, your freeing yourself from old mindsets here Virgo, and it’s because of this that all this luck is headed your way; rewarding you for learning from yourself. . . Blessing you for accepting those lessons and welcoming in your purpose on this Earth.
Attracting Money: Ask for Your Needs to be Met. While you learn to let others in and ask for help these next two weeks, your manner of attracting money is the same. Don’t be scared to ask loved ones for a little help here and there if it’s dire - but know that you can also directly as the source you believe in, or simply the Universe itself. Be honest and open about your needs. . . don’t plan for them to be fulfilled a certain way, simply accept that they will be fulfilled. Stand proudly as you announce, “I need help. . . I’m requesting help with. . .” because it mean you can finally trust that you don’t always have to rely on just yourself.
Libra: King of Autumn, Nine of Spring, Three of Spring.
There’s been a disturbance in the force, Libra. You feel it clear as day as you try to understand why you feel as though you’ve been pushed into survival mode or at the very least, that your survival instincts have kicked up and made you defensive of your work. In the past, you felt secure when it came to the place you worked, the place you studied, the place you socialized or presented in whatever way it was . . . But now you feel as though you’ve given a good thing up as you began to pursue higher blessings. . . Unable to force your life a certain way, you feel that it’s unstable, unbalanced even which throws you into fear. Breathe in deeply Libra, tell yourself that everything is going the way you need it to go because you are in control of your life and have a plan for it, even if the plan is as simple as “be happy.” Keep your wits about you as enemies make themselves known to you and are exposed for what they have done - especially to you - it can make them desperate. Protect your works, the “fruit of your labors” so to speak, and be patient! Keep planning for the road ahead of you while knowing that as you do good, so is good done unto you. Don’t share credit for your works either; if an idea is yours and you’ve worked hard on it while your partner goofed off and around, simply shading in a logo over and over again and driving you mad then don’t be ashamed to take the credit. It’s yours. As the month draws on Libra, you’re also finding yourself interested in doing things that benefit others and even the environment; you might find yourself recycle more, changing to green friendly, cleaning up a highway, donating to a wildlife foundation or so on. Know that if you do feel this desire; you’ve been guided divinely and should further research it - it may just hold the key to your next project.
Attracting Money: Declutter. Donations, Tithing, and Charitable Work. In order to bring and keep money into your life - especially during these next two weeks. . You’ll need to put in the work and declutter. (Konmari method, anyone?) Declutter everything; your room, your house, your life, your friends, your schedule. . . As these two cards came out together, you might find some good in donating things; instead of donating to a Goodwill your old hoodies, you might drive them personally to a homeless shelter and donate them there. . . Being able to see the people you are helping might inspire you or simply raise your vibration in knowing you’ve helped someone else. Your donations, your compassion; they send out energy into this world that can attract even more energy like it. Be kind and in particular for you these next few weeks Libra; be eco-friendly.
Scorpio: Four of Spring, Two of Autumn, Princess of Summer.
As we leave the emotional and self-reflective season of Pisces, a fellow water sign, and enter the the mountains of fiery Aries - you have a lot of emotions going around and the one that sticks out the most is the feeling that you have to catch up and put in the work to make up for the time out you took during Pisces season especially with the relationships that ended. It’s okay to slow down, giving yourself time to be proud of all you’ve accomplished even if it doesn’t seem like much. Some progress is better than no progress. Cutting ties with people over the last few weeks actually leads to you have a much brighter energy during these next two weeks; while you work to get them off your mind you do end up acknowledging you made the right choice by letting them go from your life - especially for those who were in situationships where jealousy played a big factor. On the other hand, the next two weeks require you to keep the same open mind and not force yourself into too many things at once in order to forget the endings you’ve undergone. Keep your time open a bit, be kind to yourself and compassionate to others because you’re social life will be flourishing as Spring makes it’s arrival known! Stronger friendships, wedding invites, party invites, family events, and even a new suitor are on their way. . . You have the next two weeks to get yourself together; opening up a space for these emotional connections in your life.
Attracting Money: Release Jealousy. Instead of looking at others with the desire to have what they have. . . be happy for them! Don’t feel bad for yourself, that you haven’t attained what they have. Everyone grows and flourishes at different paces and you are no exceptions. Stop blaming your mental health days and thank them instead, they’ve kept you sane enough to keep going! Being jealous sends out to the Universe that you are full of lacking with the intention of maintaining your lack. Be honest with yourself during this time. Do you want money? Do you want a vacation? Do you want an invention to take off? Fine. Fantastic! But why can’t someone else have it and you get it as well in your own divine timing? Why must it be one or the other? Be happy for others; their success paves way for your own.
Sagittarius: Eight of Summer, Prince of Winter, Three of Autumn.
Sagittarius, you’ve never been shy when it comes to celebrating your accomplishes but lately you’re wondering what you really get out of them? Where do they take you? In the end, what gets put on your tombstone? “Here lies. . . with X amounts of accomplishments.”? This revelation has even had you looking into the people in your life; who is dishonest? Who isn’t lying but isn’t open when you need them to be? Why do the people in your life make you feel isolated? It’s come to your attention that it’s just not worth it anymore; the natural clout that being a Sagittarius attracts just doesn’t hold the same appeal to you if it can’t be found on a deeper level and so. . . You invite these next two weeks into your life while you begin your transition to a more meaningful life. Focuses change, people leave and new ones are scarcely accepted. You’ve finally made and accepted the decision we spoke about in the last tarotscope and now it’s time to truly deal with the consequences of it. . . Sag, you’re thinking about all of this clearly and making the best intellectually based decisions you possibly can so be proud of that! You’re finally free Sagittarius. No more looking over your shoulder while you agonize over what could be a compromise; instead, you’ve decided to not compromise anymore and do what’s best for you with the knowledge that eventually, Justice is served. The changes in your life are coming and they’re coming quickly with almost no time to catch your breath. Take some of the time you use to think of the changes to think of what your talents and passions are instead, you will profit from them if you dedicate yourself to them now! Where do you want to be in five years? Ten years? What do you want your tombstone to say? The raw talent you have in you can’t be what you survive off; you deserve to thrive off your dedication. Get to it!
Attracting Money: No More Complaining. Sag, that wasn’t a typo. We all know you take a lot on your shoulders but you also have a tendency to cry about it in public - and quite frequently. Stop claiming the negative in your life, stop viewing yourself as the sole victim of things and decide that you’re going to look forward. Forgiving and releasing even if you don’t forget. In order to bring money into your life (or abundance of any kind) there can’t be traces of victimhood; you can reflect on your past to try to better understand it and you can feel hurt by people but you can not harp on it as though it’s your life purpose. Your life purpose is not to be a victim; so what is it? And how do you start getting there? What is your life goal? The next two weeks should be used to cut all negative habits and the prioritized one being to quit complaining
Capricorn: Six of Winter, Three of Autumn, Seven of Summer, Princess of Spring.
For you Capricorn, the cards suggest you’re being treated to a time of balance due to each of the suits being represented. As difficult as it might be for you; try to stay positive and dare it be said - optimistic! throughout these next few weeks; good things and great changes for you including a windfall of money! That’s exciting for you, isn’t it? You can finally free up that furrowed brow on your face and instead, welcome in the warmth of spring which is thawing out your life; bringing you little blessings. It’s essential that you stop putting things off during this time because the next two weeks are a time of preparation especially if you have any thing that will showcase your talents come up. Trust in yourself because your creativity will soar - and you might as well. . . literally! Travel is indicated with the Six of Winter which pictures a fairy on a little boat with only a light to guide him. . . The fairy, just like, is going somewhere that will light up his world. You feel guided to pursue your desires & dreams; to get yourself out there in the world and present who you are. Don’t fear being judged or that it might not be profitable. Tell yourself experience, learning things about yourself are just as profitable as some cold hard cash in your hands because eventually. . . that, at the very least, doubles your worth. Your task for the 17th-31st is to stop holding yourself back because of every little thing, instead; spread your wings and fly!
Attracting Money: Organize for Success. Capricorn, nobody takes profits as seriously as you do. So what are you missing? Why isn’t taking over your life just yet? Why haven’t you achieved your dream of being the Monopoly guy? Simple, you haven’t organized yourself. You haven’t planned for the life you dream of. . . Instead, you give off excuses to yourself like, “I just can’t right now. . . I’m too tired. I’m unmotivated. Uninspired. I’m hungry so I’ll do it later.” and so on. But do you ever actually get to it later? As an Earth sign, you suffer from the need to be surrounded in life’s luxuries and one of them is being able to take your time; yet, you put a deadline on yourself! So which is it? Consider this as you decide if you really do want to welcome abundance into your life and then settle down, creating a schedule for yourself. . . cleaning your room, your work space, getting an agenda and setting yourself up for success.
Aquarius: Queen of Autumn, Four of Winter, #5 Unity.
You may be called to become the living example of “Treat Yourself” but it would be unwise at this time. Avoid making any big purchases or indulging in the lifestyle you’d like to live; think of the Jay-Z quote, “If you can’t buy it twice, you can’t afford it.” You’re tempted to spend the money you have and the money you don’t have this first week, especially when a giving and even “stylish” person enters your life. The influence of the Queen of Autumn also doubles as a being who finds a financial supporter in a romantic interest, all of those “I’m going to become a sugar baby” jokes may have been taken seriously by the Universe - be on the look out! Continuing along the week and entering the next week; you have quite a lot on your mind because you’ve had to put off things due to lack of energy. Your need for sleep and being unable to focus because of your cluttered mind has you unsure if you should make any decisions at all - you would do best to take a small trip (perhaps to a local park or botanical gardens if that’s all you can spare resource wise), meditation, yoga, or even working out could help you clear your mind. Do not be ashamed to take a mental health day if you need it - even if you lay in bed all day. Whatever it takes to feel rested with a clearer mind, you should do. In order to make the best decision possible; you will need to focus on what the right thing is, not just the best thing. . . As confusing as that might be. Consider this: the decision is to buy a $3 ice cream cone or to spend the $3 to buy 3 different cans of food. You don’t get paid for another few days, what’s the best decision to make vs the right decision? The right decision would be to get the can of food - giving up a temporary pleasure for your well being or even your family’s, whereas buying the ice cream might be what you feel is the “best” thing to do because you’re craving it, enjoying it, and it would make you feel better for a bit. You end these two weeks with realizing that the past survived so long for a reason but it also belongs in the past for another reason. . . As the innovator and futuristic lover of the zodiac, you’re faced with the challenge of discovering the good and the bad of the old ways with the new ways; take both perspectives into consideration as you move forward to make these decisions and even more so if it’s something that requires compromise. Leave March with the satisfaction that you’ve learned to view both sides of the story. . . Utilizing them for the right and best reasons!
Attracting Abundance: Clean-Energy Food, Release Resentments about Money.
One very easy and quick way to raise your vibration & clear your energy is to be more conscious of what you’re eating. There’s a strong belief that certain raw foods (depending on their color although there are a few exceptions) correspond to your chakra. For example, if you need to work through and use your root chakra; you might incorporate cherries, blood oranges, red peppers, pomegranates into your diet more. Since “root” is a key word here; you might even look for foods that have been buried deep underground as they grew (potatoes or carrots, anyone?) Cutting out the sodas or the guilty pleasure food you eat nightly as opposed to once a week or less, could have a great impact on your energy which in turn would lead to you attracting abundance more easily. Another suggestion for you to attract abundance - money in particular - until the end of this month would be to work through the negative feelings you have towards money! Consider it; what beliefs did your guardians have about money while you were growing up? What was the financial situation like in your household? How are your savings? Don’t hate money because you feel there’s never enough, because you feel it is the key to happiness. . . Take a deeper look at it, see where your relationship to money began but more importantly. . how you can change it to make it YOUR relationship with money, the relationship you want!
Pisces: Seven of Autumn, King of Summer, #8 Justice.
As you’ve been working through your issues. . . You’ve also decided to take a step back from living your life. Despite the fact that this would be an issue for just about any other sign, you Pisces have found a way to make your detachment from reality a strength! It gives you a way to process, heal, and even grow. As you live in your fantasy world it’s imperative that you try to figure out whether you’ll be swimming along the ocean’s current or against it. Don’t allow your fears to control you, know that Justice is on your side in this matter so long as you keep yourself focused & with a clear mind. What this means for you Pisces is pretty simple: no more procrastinating out of fear! No more thinking until you you have to start the process over again and then hiding in your head until you feel all of your problems have passed - until you face them head on, they won’t! Be on the lookout for any projects that genuinely call to your soul or even festivals; there might be someone special waiting to meet you there! To survive these next two weeks as we leave your season and enter into Aries. . . make a decision to speak with the truth, with a kind and loving heart at all times and to do the best for yourself as well as others. Despite being the fish who constantly fights to not drown in the waters of their own emotions, you do have a tendency to take it out or even blame others. Make it clear to yourself you’re no longer welcoming that sense of victimhood into your life because you’re taking control of your own life. Be open to any observations or advice a soft masculine energy might provide.
Attracting Abundance: Positivity, Faith, and Optimism.
If you’ve temporarily parted ways with your belief - or at the very least, put them on the backburner. . . It’s time to welcome them into your life. Even if they aren’t the same as they used to be, that’s normal. . You’ve grown, you’ve evolved, ascended. But welcome faith and optimism back into your life; the emotions from your season are finally relaxing and you can come up to the surface for much needed air. As you do that though Pisces, take into consideration all the wonderful things you have in your life and could bring into your life if you could just manage to keep an optimistic view on life. . . Reprogram yourself to find the good in life; to look forward to what life brings you, especially when it’s something you’ve been hoping for. Remember not to let self-pity run your life because that is your biggest problem, biggest set-back. Free yourself from the shackles you’ve placed on yourself. When you live under the water your cup might not seem like it’s overflowing.

Welcome to the Autumn 🍂 Equinox! (Northern Hemisphere) •Change •Resurrection •Balance •Sacrifice 🍃Life and death are one thread, the same line viewed from different sides. -Lao Tzu🍂 This is a time to honor death and rebirth. We should remember that death is apart of life and we can’t have one without other. This is the process of all living things. We must allow ourselves to accept death and see it as a beginning rather then an ending. During this equinox I like to take the time to reevaluate myself and my life. I ask you all to ask yourselves the following questions: 1. Where is my current life? Is it headed in the direction that I had envisioned? 3. Am I accepting and comfortable with myself as a whole? 4. Do I surround myself with people who truly accept me? 5. Do I speak my truth? 6. Have I allowed myself to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually? 7. What have I lost? 8. What have I gained? 9. What intentions have I set now that will assist me in manifesting my goals later? 🥀I hope we can all stand before a mirror and answer these questions honestly and unapologetically. Take advantage of this season; strengthen the connection with yourself, allow room for new beginnings by letting go of what once was. 📸 @natalieshau . . . . #collectiveconsciousness #fireandlux #spirit #spiritualaf #witch #witchcraft #esoteric #magic #magick #mabon #ancestors #alchemist #healing #spirituality #journey #mystic #collectivehealing #occult #witchyvibes #autumnequinox #goddesses #autumn #pagan #tarot #knowledge #wisdom #inspire #artistry_vision #witchesofinstagram #paganism https://www.instagram.com/p/BoCd98mA-5Q/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=2c6udvcitzlc

Autumn: Cider, Football, and Your Lung Health
Friend: I can feel autumn coming. Me: I know. How are your lungs? How is your sadness, your depression?
Friend: Pardon me?
Now, those are weird questions to come up when you hear “I can feel autumn coming,” ain’a?
Autumn is, in fact, coming and with it the body-mind changes that acupuncture and traditional medicine treat with every seasonal change. We are organic beings after all, made up of the stuff of this precious Earth, living in the ecosphere of our little blue ball, and necessarily responding to, adapting to the cycles she offers us.
Sometimes, we ain’t all that good about adapting to these changes. In Traditional Medicine, autumn is the driest season of all.
Even the sun’s rays begin to dry up, so to speak, as our daylight hours suddenly shorten, and we move toward the Winter Solstice.
Let’s look at the Lung River and it’s qi. Most acupuncturists use the terms ‘channel’ or ‘meridian’ to describe the discrete pathways our vital energies—our qi—flow through in our body-mind. For me, those are meh terms. I use “river”. Qi flows through 14 different and discrete rivers inside you, me, and all living beings. Acupuncture helps to keep those rivers contained in their banks when they are too exuberant, full of qi in times of depletion, and flowing smoothly always, from their wellspring to the sea. When those are all balance, we are healthy. And then, there’s autumn.
The Lung River is associated with autumn and autumn is associated with dryness. A dry Lung River is an unhappy one; lungs like to be wet (but not too wet). Since the lungs are the most exterior of all the qi-organs, the harvest season can give us problems if we are not full of care for them.
Every season has its own emotion as does every qi River. Autumn and the Lung River are associated with the emotions of grief and sadness—particularly things that have arisen more recently. For example, a child trauma will more like settle in the Heart River but may arise acutely in autumn. A loss within the last few months or year will probably damage the Lung River now.
Think of what it feels like to sob—the Lung qi is moving erratically up and down, the River is in turmoil, tossing in any direction; breathing is hard, there may be pain in the chest and shoulders, there is constriction and anxiety.
In our medicine, each River is associated with one of the elements of our planet. The Lung River is associated with the element of metal (ore, minerals). Metal can generate good body fluids (think of a metal cup full of cool water and the condensation that forms on its outside). Metal can also hold heat such that good body fluids evaporate or become scorched. Think about that time your very wet cough (cold, damp, and phlegmy) turned into a persistent dry, scratchy, hoarse cough (heat and dry), your sputum changed from white and liquid to yellow or green and thick—heat and dryness cook fluids and cooked fluids are a problem for the Lung River.
Another fascinating aspect of the Lung River is that it regulates the cou li, that space between the skin and the musculature. The cou li is the space where our defensive qi (we call it the wei qi) moves to protect us from exterior pathogens. Or, if you like, we can rename all these components as “lymph and immune systems.” Functionally, we are using different words to describe the same phenomena, although the traditional medicine terms also include more subtle effects. For example, grief is very often followed by sudden illness related to breathing or opportunistic infection.
Autumn Precautions
We need to take smart care of our Lung River for the next three months. We do this in three ways: Good cover, good emotions, and good food.
Good Cover: Our upper back and neck, from the base of our skull, across our shoulders, and extending a down the paraspinals is called the “wind gate.” This is the original source of infectious coughs and colds that are so common in the cold, damp weather of autumn. It is important to keep this area impeccably protected from wind, cold, and dampness during this season—especially so on warm days when the pernicious qualities are masked by the sun’s warmth. Pull up your collar, wear a hoodie, toss a scarf or a sweatshirt over your shoulders.
Protect your wind gate and you protect your Lung qi. Protect your Lung qi and you prevent related diseases.
This is a good opportunity to consider the relationship between traditional energy medicine and contemporary biomedicine. We know that the common cold and influenza are caused by viruses. No dispute. What’s with this “wind gate” chatter then? The wind gate is an exposed area of the cou li, This is our immune system, energetically speaking. Sweep it away with damp, cold, wind and you’re left exposed to viral and bacterial lung infections. Nothing “wu-wu” here—just different words to pick out the same phenomena. Cover your shoulders, rest appropriately, boost your wei qi, and don’t let opportunistic infections get a foothold.
Good Emotions: It’s fair to say that all illness, from the perspective of traditional medicine, is entangled with some emotion or other. Even happiness can go into deficiency (a kind of depression—there are many of these in traditional medicine) or excess (difficulties ranging from insomnia to mania). Each of the qi rivers are associated with a different emotion. We live, unhappily, in a culture were all emotions are either suspect, commodified, or devalued…except warrantless anger which seems to be permitted in every circumstance. So, we learn young to squash them down. Wall out sadness. Crush grief under the weight of a mountain of feel-good. Deny love. Deny them all if we can.
When the sadness of autumn arises, don’t look away. You needn’t let current sadness or old grief mow you down. Khalil Gibran said in The Prophet “to suppress a truth is to give it power beyond endurance.” Our emotional state is one of many true states.
So, if you’re truly sad, that emotion must have its day, either by you permitting it (even encouraging it) or by the emotion simply taking over because it is unbearable to wall it off another minute.
At the same time, we must surely not allow emotions to pretend to a permanence and power they don’t truly have. Emotions are soap bubbles. They arise, catch our attention, then pop and fall away, only to be replaced by another emotion—maybe the same one or a related one or an opposing one—each of which will arise, pop, and disappear like all the others. Our emotions only gain strength over us if we forever deny them their voice—and then they gain power ‘beyond endurance’. At that point, they manifest as illness, psycho-emotional, mental, physical diseases, or combinations of these. Deep breath.
If you need to, want to, or must, just have a good cry, especially if one arises naturally, spontaneously. Then “pop” it’ll be gone...for now or forever, who knows? Take a deep breath (directing your Lung River qi downward) and take the next step of your life. Humans have emotions. Be a human. Good Food: Autumn allows us to access the excess of the harvest with an eye to preserving techniques for the next season. It is, in this sense, a season of conservation, of storage and preserving, anticipating the beginning of drawing within in winter.
Sour and fermented foods are especially helpful in this season since they nourish the yin and the jin ye (the body fluids, including those on the intima of interior lung tissue).
Grains: One good choice for the season is sourdough bread. It takes a bit to get a starter going, but so very worth the time and effort. The best sourdough starter I know of involves a pound of organic grapes, locally grown if you can get them. Wrap them in a cheesecloth and give them some gentle bonks with a pastry pin—enough to break the skins without creating jam. Squeeze the juice into a suitable container, add enough water to make 2 cups, and add 2 cups of (preferably organic) flour (white or wheat seem to work well; feel free to experiment with rye or buckwheat). For the first week, you’ll need to add water and flour every day to keep the grape yeast-beasties well fed and stimulate fermentation. Once the concoction bubbles, you can use it as the base for your favorite bread recipe. Keep it fed!
Aduki (adzuki) beans, barley, millet, almonds, sesame seeds, and pinenuts stimulate yin fluids. Add them into soups. Millet is a wonderful warm breakfast cereal or savory side dish.
Meat, fish, and proteins: Tofu, clams, crabs, oysters, mussels, oily fish, pork, and lamb—these are the go-to yin nourishing fluids and especially beneficial to the Lung River.
Veggies: Generally speaking, you probably can’t eat too many vegetables, so long as they are a dominant part of an overall balanced diet. Leeks, cukes, pears, loquat, mushrooms—these are the roots, the sours, and the fungi of good Lung River health.
Foods: Pickles of all kinds, sauerkraut (and other fermented veggies), rose hip tea, citrus fruits, and “the sour varieties of apples, plums, and grapes.”
Welcome to autumn! It’s a grand season, full of richness (and dryness), harvests (including the inadvertent one of lung harmful bacteria or viruses), and the opportunities to both store the goodness of our lives and let go of the dead leaves of it. As a wise woman once said, ‘The trees drop their leaves when they are dead; that is good advice to follow.’ If you’d like a Lung River nourishing preventive care treatment—or if the season overtakes you and you fall ill—please consider visiting us at the Enerqi Center. Prevention may be worth more than cure, but if you’re sick, the curative effects of good acupuncture, good herbal medicinals, and the ever popular TDP heat lamp-liquid moxa combo are beyond compare, and key components of your Radiant Good Health.

(Image From Myself) ⚖ The Season of Creating All The Balance ⚖ "Balance is not something you find, it's something you create." - Jana Kingsford On our trip around the Sun, we have reached the halfway mark...
The start of Libra Season coincides with the Autumn Equinox, making it a powerful point of transition & liminal energy in the year. We have spent the past year planting our seeds of intention and nurturing their growth, all in the hopes of harvesting our goals and dreams. And now with the long Summer days behind us, we may be feeling a bit overheated, exhausted, and are ready for the cooler, crisper, and pumpkin-spiced days of Autumn. Either way, with the Sun leaving virtuous Virgo and entering charming Libra this change has us taking in a cosmic breath of cool exhilarating fresh air.
Libra is a cardinal sign (the initiator) and with its peace-loving and diplomatic vibe, this season is great for enhancing our romantic relationships, allowing our social connections to develop, initiating new beginnings/setting forth in a new direction, and bringing more balance & equilibrium to our daily lives. It is a time where we may start thinking about where we have landed and what changes we may wish to make. We can’t go back, so we must keep moving forward, heading towards a new and hopefully brighter, chapter of our lives.
All of this energy combined makes the first few days of this season an especially magical time where we can really connect, tune in and balance ourselves with the rhythms of Mother Earth.
Libra is represented by The Scales, which if we look on a deeper level shows just how much we are a part of life as it is a part of us. This season reminds me so much of the Ouroboros (the snake that eats its own tail) with its symbolic concept of "no beginning and no end", and recognizing & being mindful of this allows us to create the ultimate balance between the energy of who we are and the energy of the Universe... balancing our inner & outer worlds.
During Libra Season, it is important for us to evaluate the things & relationships we are keeping in our lives and if they are helping us to create a balance between the giving of and receiving of energy, or if they are just pushing us out of alignment altogether. Deep questions to ponder under this Libra Sun & Autumn as we journey through the weeks ahead:
•Do you like what you are choosing to spend your energy on?
•Do you feel supported by the people around you?
•Do you feel like you are giving and receiving your fair share?
⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙ My Thoughts: This Libra Sun & Equinox brings to mind a tarot card most look over or wouldn't associate with Libra or the Equinox... The 6 of Pentacles.
(Image From Pinterest) In a general context, the 6 of Pentacles represent gifts, wealth, kindness, sharing, and prosperity, but on that deeper level, this card embodies more and is the very fabric of the Libra/Autumn energy of giving & receiving... balance!
With Autumn here and with us taking stock of all the abundance & accomplishments we are harvesting from all our hard work & giving thanks, combined with Libra's energy of creating balance & interacting more harmoniously with others... it really makes me stop and acknowledge the universe with an "I see what you did there" moment.
Everything in the universe operates through dynamic exchange and this makes me ponder... Are we truly abundant based on the things we personally obtain or are we abundant based on the things we are able to give? For me, I think it is one and the same. Every relationship is one of give and take because giving and receiving are different aspects that make the flow of energy in the universe, just like the symbolism of the Ouroboros. If we stop the flow of energy, we interfere with nature’s intelligence & rhythm. We must give and receive in order to keep abundance & balance circulating in our lives.
The intention behind giving and receiving is: When the act of giving is from the heart, then the energy behind the giving increases many times over... That whole saying "You gotta give, to get" comes to mind. However, if we give grudgingly, there is no energy behind that giving, then the balance is off and the abundance given will surely not be paid forward.
Giving and Receiving is simple: If you want love, learn to give love; if you want attention and appreciation, learn to give attention and appreciation; you get the drift. The more you give, the more you will receive! In your willingness to give the abundance that which you seek, you will keep the abundance of the universe circulating in your life.
Abundance can take the form of many things, but what is really circulating is consciousness. Even the thought of giving or the thought of blessing has the power to affect others. Giving and receiving is the flow of life and life unfolds in the same way. Everything that comes to you isn’t something you earn, but a gift freely given by the universe, which means it comes from a deep awareness of what you need.
This Libra/Autumn Season I challenge you to think about the flow of giving and receiving in your life, especially with the things that have been freely given to you without having to ask for them. Also, think about all the things that you do & give that creates balance & merges with the life force that you are and that you bring to the world. Mother Earth & the Universe supports our every need & desire, oftentimes giving to us freely by providing us abundantly with material needs, support, and placing the people we need in our lives oftentimes without us even knowing and/or without a simple "thanks" in return. And that Enchanted Ones, is the purest form of giving & receiving from the heart to be truly grateful for this time of year!!
(Image From Myself) ♎Libra Season Astrology♎: •9/27: Mercury Retrograde in Libra•10/6: Libra New Moon + Pluto Direct - On the same day as this New Moon, Pluto also goes direct after being in retrograde since April. This is a power day in the Pluto cycle. Pluto is the planet of transformation, so we may feel we have reached a powerful point on our journey of transformation.
•10/7: Sun Conjunct Mars - Mars aligns with the Sun. We can feel motivated, productive, and have a surge of energy that inspires us to take action. However, be mindful of pushing too hard and too fast, for burnout can also be a manifestation of this planetary union. Mars energy can also trigger heated emotions like anger and frustration.
•10/9: Sun Conjunct Mercury Rx - This alignment represents a crystal clear moment of clarity where we may start to receive & process the messages of Mercury Retrograde with greater ease.
•10/10: Saturn Direct - Saturn goes direct after being retrograde since May. This will be a power day where we may really feel the weight of its lessons and energy. To get a deeper understanding of what lessons Saturn may have for you, think about what themes were brewing for you around the end of May 2021. You may find that whatever lessons were present at this time may be revisited in some way or resolved once and for all.
•10/17: Mercury Direct - Mercury goes direct, not to go retrograde again until next year. Any messages that Mercury wants you to know will now be uncovered in the coming days. Things will feel clearer and any mental fog will start to lift.•10/20: Aries Full Moon - This will be an intense Full Moon! There is a lot of energy to unpack under this Aries Full Moon, but just know that leading up to this time, things may begin to feel extra heavy or heated. The focus of this Full Moon is likely to be on our relationships, so it could be that a relationship comes to an end or perhaps a relationship dynamic begins to crumble. On a global level, this Full Moon energy appears to be linked to protests, outrage, and growing hostility. It could manifest in people pushing back or resisting something. Some of the alignments under this Full Moon have also been linked to violence, volatility with governments/leadership, and extreme weather patterns.
•10/23: Sun exits Libra for Scorpio - Libra Season comes to an end as the Sun moves into the watery, intuitive, and deeply transformational sign of Scorpio.

Darkest Greetings and Salutations My Family, how is everyone? I am doing pretty good myself, a little on the drowsy side as I'm still not sleeping after almost 2 months but I will survive, after all it is not my first time at this particular Rodeo!
Tonight is Walpurgisnacht, tomorrow begins the 5 day Fire Festival of Beltane! Hope everyone has a spiritually revitalizing experience during this time!
Walpurgisnacht/Beltane 2019
Beltane is a time of new beginnings and INFINITE possibilities! It is the halfway point between the Vernal Equinox and the Summer Solstice, it is also the time celebrating the reunification of the God and the Goddess who revitalize of the world around us and the creation of new and vibrant lifeforms!
It is a time to reflect on the past year to see what went right, what went wrong and what needs to be worked on to proceed!
All of us have things that we need to let go of but it's not easy, especially when it is something or someone we have a long history with, HOWEVER, it is absolutely necessary that we do it so that WE may move on!
A good way to sever ties with any person, place or thing is to create an image of it and when your bonfire gets to really blazing, throw that image in and BURN THAT BRIDGE! The fire will destroy the connection and the smoke will send the negative energy back!
I try to dispel all negative energy in the beginning of the ritual so that the rest of it is purely positive energy that enables all in attendance to be able to enjoy the rest of the evening!
HAIL THE ANCIENT FAMILY who after countless millennia continues to offer us not only Guidance and Wisdom, but also hardcore reality checks and demands the best from us at all times because they know we are more than what we oftentimes convince ourselves to be!
They say the Family that works together, stays together, and while humans have much to learn in that area, in so much as understanding that work does not always imply employment or getting paid with money but also pertains to taking care of the environment and our communities as we need both not just for us to survive but for future generations to be able to survive and thrive as well!
This is why it is necessary to look outside ourselves and see things for what they really are and not what we have convinced ourselves they are, we cannot afford to live in denial especially when it comes to our environmental health but also our emotional and physical health which is a direct reflection of the world we live in. If we want things to improve then we must do what needs to be done to improve them and stop this mentality that somebody else will do it including the Ancient Family!
Reality is painful at times but denial is much worse because we are enabling the bad things to continue whether we want to acknowledge this or not! This is why no matter how bad things have gotten in recent years they have not stepped in, because they have faith in us and trust us to wake up before it's too late and I still have hope that there is still time for this to happen!
This is why we take these times to bring to the front that which needs to be addressed and if necessary thrown into the fire and completely eradicated from our lives both physically and spiritually! I believe it was Epictetus who said that you cannot solve a problem with the same mentality that created it. I believe Albert Einstein echoed this sentiment and I agree with both assertions!
It is not always easy to come to terms with these things, however, personal evolution is not always an easy process to go through; it is not meant to be, if it were then EVERYONE would do it and we would not have all the con artists ready to take advantage out there nor would we be concerned about cults because people would not be susceptible to their song and dance of deception!
It is because we DO have to contend with these things that it is absolutely IMPERATIVE that we ourselves are ALWAYS at the top of our game! A leader who can not withstand the pain of their own evolution by ways of letting go of the past as well as learning new things is NOT a leader at all and has no business preaching to anyone about doing their own research when they have clearly done NONE themselves!
Most Honored Dragons we know that if we need to rely on your strength to see us through that you will always be there for us because you always have been; this DOES NOT mean that we won't have to walk through the fire on our own - a man who cannot stand on his own should not stand up at all - what it DOES mean is if we give something our all but we come up just a little short in any way that you will help us to keep going until we reach our intended goal!
What does this have to do with Beltane? It demonstrates that while dealing with some situations can be incredibly difficult, they still need to be dealt with, through the trials we face and overcome the stronger we in turn become and are better able to lead those who fight alongside us!
Beltane celebrates the birth of a new year and a new world which we were put in charge of caring for which is why we have the Four Seasons: Re/Birth (Spring), Life (Summer), Mid-Life (Autumn) and Death (Winter.) The Wheel of Transition runs on its own time and teaches us that everything happens when it's supposed to so we need to be patient no matter how difficult that might be!
Great Family we respect and exalt you for everything you have done and everything you do! For everything we ourselves have gone through you have been an unwavering rock and source of inspiration, you have helped us to deal with our own pasts and the people in them (related or otherwise) and you have helped us to heal from even the most serious of injuries whether they manifest themselves mentally, physically or spiritually!
You all do this and you don't ask for a DAMN THING in return except the respect you deserve! We perform our spells daily or when needed and during the course of the year we perform our rituals - NOT out of obligation, but out of LOVE knowing that without you we would not exist at all let alone be blessed with all that we have in the natural world!
"A Happy Walpurgisnacht and a Blessed Beltane to all!
May the love of the Ancient Family embrace and envelope you!
May your loved ones on both sides of the Veil be by your side!
May you dance with Dragons in the Moonlight!
May your food and drink be plentiful!
May you find peace in the Darkness of the night!
May you find strength and resolution in the Light of day!
May your bonfires burn bright against the night sky!
May your passions be fulfilled in every way!
May you release all negative energy and send it back to where it came!
May you be surrounded by positive, rejuvenating energy!
Most of all may you take the time to appreciate all you have and reach out to those who don't have as much but are willing to work for it!
We don't always know when a stranger may become a new friend or even MORE so, now is a time to keep our hearts (and eyes because we also don't always know when a human is nothing but a mole either) open to new relationships of all kinds!
-Nemesis Nexus"

Manifest returns from its midseason break this week with episode 10, Crosswinds. Much of the episode is spent reminding the audience of what happened in the first half of the season, and picking up the pieces from the dangerous rescue of the missing 11 passengers from the Red Hook warehouse, where UDS was illegally holding them hostage. There is some forward momentum for the love triangles between Ben, Grace and Danny and Michaela, Jared and Lourdes. And there are new clues as to the identity of “The Major.”
The episode opens on Michaela, who is standing at her mother, Karen’s, grave, telling her mother about everything that’s happened since the plane landed. Michaela tells Karen that the passengers wanted to just walk back into their loved ones’ lives as if no time had passed, because for them it hadn’t. But everyone else had moved on, so they have to start over.
Meanwhile, the government is watching them, trying to determine if they’re criminals, saints, or if they now have special powers. Misguided believers in the conspiracy theories want to experiment on them or believe they have the ability to heal with a touch or a thought. People are getting hurt.
Michaela is frustrated because she’s a cop, but she can’t protect the people she loves. She tries to do the right thing, but she’s in love with a married man. Karen’s gravestone says “All Good Things”, Romans 8:28. Michaela would give anything to hear her say it again, and she wants to believe in it. There has to be a reason that all of this is happening. But, she knows one thing.
“I want my life back.”
Fiona’s safe place turns out to be a huge, gorgeous beach house, so the missing passengers are hiding out in style. They’re catatonic, but they get to face the beach as they’re propped up in their wheelchairs for the day. Autumn Cox is checking on them when she gets a text from her mystery correspondent: Need to hear from you or our deal is off. The test subjects, other than Autumn, all jerk backwards at once, as if they’ve been given an electric shock.
That was a warning to Autumn, that she could be next. They must have to turn the voltage up higher to affect her. Autumn doesn’t heed the warning. She puts her phone back in her sock instead of responding to the message, and calls for help.
Saanvi and Fiona rush into the room. Autumn describes what happened, saying it was like they all put their fingers in a light socket. Then they all jerk upright again.
Saanvi begins to examine one of the subjects. She says, “Could be a reflex, or it could be residual brain trauma from the experiments.”
Fiona realizes that it’s like they’re still connected. Saanvi suggests they bring the passengers together so they can warn them and examine their experiences. Fiona balks at bringing in all 191 passengers, so Saanvi drops her suggestion to just the 20 who came to the airport before the plane exploded. Any of them could be the next ones taken, so they should all cooperate together.
Ben has moved his murder mystery board from the garage to the apartment he now shares with Mick. It’s very organized and thorough, with Cal’s drawing of the shadowy figure standing behind the family, the Believers, Vance’s death and Saanvi’s research all included. I hope some of those threads are given priority in this last part of the season.
It must have been a rough few days, because Ben hasn’t shaved. You know things are bad when Prince Charming skips his grooming. In frustration, he suddenly throws his file of related documents off of the table that holds the mystery board.
Michaela comes home at that moment, fresh from telling her problems to her mom’s grave. Ben acknowledges that Karen always was a good listener. He explains that he’s going crazy being away from Grace and the kids, and he’s not making any progress toward figuring out what happened to the passengers or who was in charge of the Red Hook experiments.
Michaela says that it’s been 10 days since they’ve had a calling. Maybe the explosion at the lab in Red Hook somehow reset everything, and their lives can go back to normal.
Ben gets ready to go out, telling Michaela that he’s going to Vance’s memorial. He wants to go out of respect to Vance, but also to do recon. Maybe the killer will be there. He’s got to do something, because Cal is in danger.
Jared is home from the hospital and nearly recovered from his injuries. Lourdes suggests that, instead of him going right back to work, they try to make a baby, since she’s ovulating. Jared begs off, sayings he needs a little more time. Lourdes is understanding.
Grace is making frozen waffles for breakfast, which, according to Olive, is the sign of an emotional apocalypse. Cal thinks Grace misses Ben, and asks if Olive misses him, too. Olive says, “Of course,” to make Cal feel better, but doesn’t really mean it. She’s holding a grudge because Ben asked to take Cal with him, but not her.
Olive makes an excuse and leaves early for school. Cal asks Grace why Ben can’t come home. Grace makes up an excuse about Ben needing to do some things, and needing to live with Michaela while he does them.
In other words, she puts the blame on Ben, while trying to sound like she didn’t. But then she feels guilty for lying to the cancer kid who’s also lost 5 years, so she offers to take him out for a better breakfast to tacitly make up for it.
Cal goes for it, but he also invites Ben over after school.
Ben is at the memorial, where he’s quickly spotted. Vance’s second in command, Powell, makes a beeline over to tell him to leave, even though the memorial is outdoors, in a public park. Powell blames Ben for getting Vance killed, which is a strange thing for a professional law enforcement agent to do, but, okay.
Vance was the professional in the situation and knew the risks. He went into it with his eyes open, but he decided to do the right thing and help the lost passengers. Blaming Ben takes away from his heroism.
Ben leaves without making a fuss. As he goes, he’s approached by a young independent journalist named Aaron Glover. Aaron has a podcast called 828-Gate, devoted to the mysteries of Flight 828. Ben doesn’t want to comment or be written about. As a show of good faith, Aaron tells Ben that a helicopter dropped the Major off at the Red Hook factory about an hour before the explosion. He asks Ben to listen to his podcast and reconsider collaborating.
Michaela is the first of the passengers to arrive at the beach house. Saanvi says that she reached everyone who came the night the plane exploded- the 18 who are still living, minus Harvey and Kelly, who are deceased. Most can make it.
Michaela notices a test subject that she recognizes from the hangar in the days after the plane landed, Paul Santino. Saanvi says he lives in the area, but his wife didn’t come to pick him up. Michaela touches Paul’s hand and tells him that they were both abandoned. As she does, she has a new kind of calling, where she’s immersed in a vision of a blizzard, as if she’s there, and hears a voice say, “Find her”. Afterward, Paul begins to regain consciousness.
Once he’s fully awake, they realize that he has complete amnesia. He doesn’t even know his name or remember that he’s married.
Saanvi asks Michaela to try to wake up some others. Michaela is uncomfortable with trying and skeptical that it will work, but she talks to Marco and touches his face. She doesn’t grab his fingertips, like she did with Paul. Marco is unaffected by her attempt. Saanvi says, “It could be a coincidence, or neuroplasticity. Their catatonia could be the body’s way of forcing the brain to rest and rebuild neural pathways, heal themselves.”
Saanvi thinks that it’s possible the subjects will wake up when they’re called. She encourages Michaela to find Paul’s wife. It could be they’re connected somehow that they can’t see yet.
Once the 18 passengers from the plane explosion are there, they talk about their experiences. Bethany the flight attendant says she’s been harassed by the Believers. They were waiting outside the courthouse when she made bail. Another man, named Adrian, has also had issues with Believers. He was an entrepreneur who lost everything.
Michaela tells them about her blizzard calling. Fiona introduces herself, and explains that she thinks she was on the plane to be an interpreter. She has the beach house until spring and will make it available to all of them.
Captain Daly pulls Ben outside for a private conversation. He doesn’t trust Fiona. He thinks that the whole thing might be one of her experiments. He doesn’t want Ben and the others to trust her, because then things could fall into the wrong hands. Ben asks him what “things” he means, but Daly gets cagey. He says that Ben and the others don’t have people trying to blame the whole event on them, the way he does. He won’t admit to knowing anything and decides that the entire meeting was a waste of time. He walks out.
Ben turns around and discovers that Autumn was listening to their conversation. She says that she stayed to listen because Daly got so aggro. Ben lets it slide, and asks if she knows anything about the Major. Autumn tells him that she overheard a conversation on speakerphone between Belson and the Major.
Belson acted like he was a little afraid of the Major, as if the Major was very powerful. Belson asked for more money for the experiments. The Major said that money wasn’t an issue, because the Holy Grail was priceless. Autumn though it was a weird thing to say. She doesn’t know what the Holy Grail is. She just knows that the Major’s looking for it, and she wants it, bad.
Ben’s ears prick up when he hears Autumn say the Major is a woman. He’s grateful for Autumn’s help. Autumn likes being treated with kindness and appreciation. When her phone buzzes, she takes it out of her sock, glances at the message, and throws it in the surf. We aren’t shown the text.
Michaela is at the police station, searching for Helen, Paul’s missing wife, when Jared gets there. She’s surprised to see him, but then they hug. Unlike his melancholy demeanor with Lourdes, Jared lights up with Michaela. She suggests that he could have used up more sick days, but he says that he wanted to talk to her.
Mick breaks his heart by saying they’ll have to talk later, because she’s searching for the missing wife of one of the passengers. She tempers the rejection by telling him that Riojas signed off on the investigation. Jared asks her to fill him in on what she’s done so far.
Mick was just as happy to see him as he was to see her, but she’s still trying to keep some distance between herself and the married man that she can’t have.
Michaela: “He’s an attorney, serious money. Looks like she lost everything after 828. Last known address that we have is some crappy street in Astoria.”
She has no social media presence, and everything Mick has found suggests they were a happy couple, so why didn’t Helen show up at the airport? They’re both thinking about why Jared didn’t show up at the airport, as they set off to go find Helen.
Olive finds Danny loading his bike into a pickup truck. He’s happy to see her, as always, and offers to cancel his bike ride so that they can go to the climbing gym instead. Olive asks if he’d come over to the house. Danny says that he’d love to, but it’s up to Grace. Olive tells him that Grace won’t ask. “It’s like she’s punishing herself.”
Danny takes several steps closer to Olive, but is still a reasonable distance away. He suggests that she give her mom time to process. Olive explains that Grace is reacting as if Ben and Cal died all over again. Olive can’t go through Grace’s depression again. Danny says that he doesn’t want her to go through it again.
Olive says, “Then if you still love us,” then takes 2 steps closer to Danny, so that she’s right in his personal space, “Help me help her, please.”
Whoa. WHAT WAS THAT???
The “If you still love us,” combined with getting right up in his face, is awfully suggestive that they’re closer than they should be. Why does Olive seem to be closer to her mom’s boyfriend than her mom is? Why are they so physically comfortable together, when he’s not her father and he’s only known her for a couple of years?
At this point, the writers are either writing a sexual abuse storyline, or they’re writing a creepy relationship with the supposedly great guy ignoring all kinds of boundaries that we follow as families, and teach our kids, to keep them safe from sexual predators. One of which would be that Olive shouldn’t be running off with Danny when her parents think she’s somewhere else, and Danny shouldn’t be offering.
Ben listens to Aaron’s podcast on his way to visit Cal:
During the 5 1/2 years that the plane was missing, the flight path, weather patterns, and telemetry have been exhaustively studied. The NTSB took 18 months and it’s full of holes. But I’m not giving up. I’ll find the truth.
Ben isn’t impressed. He stops the recording and pulls up next to the house. He rings the doorbell, which seems excessive. Grace answers and is surprised to see him, since Cal didn’t tell her that he asked Ben over. Cal races downstairs and out the door, so that he and Ben can play basketball together.
As they play, Cal asks why Grace won’t let Ben come home. Ben is a gentleman, and continues the fiction that it’s his choice to stay away. He tells Cal that he has things to do to make the family safe, and that he can’t do them while living with the family.
Cal is a smart 10 year old kid, not a preschooler, and he heard the arguments his parents had. In real life, this wouldn’t fool him for a minute. On the show, he doesn’t argue, he just tells Ben that he’s being emotionally crushed. He does it using a metaphor, so they can be guys and laugh about it, pretending he didn’t just say something profound.
When Ben leaves, he turns the podcast back on. In the teaser for the upcoming episode, Aaron mentions the Holy Grail, the phrase that Autumn said the Major and Belson also used.
Ben pays a visit to Aaron to find out what he knows about the Holy Grail, but Ben still doesn’t want to share information or be interviewed. However, Aaron might be able to earn his trust. Aaron refuses to name his sources. Then he tells Ben, “Right after 828 returned, Senate Intelligence Committee, House Appropriations started having secret meetings in which they earmarked millions to preserve the phantom shiner. It’s a fish. Hasn’t been seen since the 1940s. So why earmark funds?”
Ben: “To pay for a clandestine operation.”
Aaron: “Look at you. But all my source had was a fragment of a conversation he overheard. A senator said, ‘It’s the Holy Grail.’ We have to be the first, or 828 blows up in our face.”
Ben: “The Holy Grail? You think that’s what the Major’s looking for?”
Aaron: “No, not literally. This isn’t Arthurian legend. But it’s something big.”
Aaron tries again to get Ben to go on the record, but he still refuses. Ben does share that the Major is a woman. Aaron knows that the chopper she took to Red Hook was a military Black Hawk, but they need intel agency access to trace it further. Ben thinks he could work Vance’s deputy, Powell, for some information, if he had access to him. Maybe Aaron’s sources could help him gain access.
Mick and Jared investigate Helen Santino’s last known address. They find the mail piling up and a carton of milk spoiled on the counter, as if Helen left in a hurry, or was taken. Mick takes photos and documents to Paul at the beach house to try to jog his memory, while leaving Jared behind to continue searching the house. Jared is disappointed that Mick is ditching him.
Paul doesn’t recognize the photos. He asks:
“What happened to me? I just want my life back.”
Michaela gets it. She also gets a text from Jared saying he found something. She promises Paul that they’ll find Helen and help him with his memory.
Ben finds Mick out on the patio at the beach house. When she gets up to talk to him, she has the blizzard calling again. The voice is a little louder than a whisper, and the deep undertones of a male voice can be heard.
Ben notices and asks about the calling. He also tells Mick that the Major is a woman. They decide that “find her” could refer to either Helen or the Major, so they’ll continue looking for both.
Once Saanvi joins them on the patio in response to a message from Ben, he reveals that he has to tell them something that sounds crazy. Mick says they already operate well above crazy, but Ben thinks this one goes up to 11. He explains that the Major is looking for something with the code name “the Holy Grail”.
Saanvi thinks it might refer to something to do with the callings, such as what’s causing them and how to control them. She leaves to go through the lab notes again to look for clues.
Ben gets a text from Aaron with a lead on where he can run into Powell informally at a happy hour. Michaela will meet back up with Jared to follow his lead.
Jared explains that the last charge on Helen’s credit card was an Uber ride to a cheap hotel. The driver said she’s staying in room 28. Michaela guesses that she’s hiding rather than being held against her will.
They knock on the door to room 28, calling out to Helen that it’s the NYPD and they were sent by her husband, Paul. Helen throws open the door and points a gun at them.
Jared yells gun and aims his own gun at Helen, while Michaela disarms her, as quick as a wink. It’s adorable.
I know. It’s a ridiculous thing to find adorable. But I love these two together so much, and I love it when we see them so in sync.
Helen begs them not to kill her. She didn’t believe they were cops, and thought Paul sent them to kill her. He was an abusive husband, and Helen had to go through years of therapy after the plane disappeared. She was finally happy, and then the plane came back. It was like a wrecking ball, smashing into the new life she’d built. She thought she’d never be happy again. She cries with relief when Michaela tells her that Paul has amnesia and won’t be coming to find her.
Ben sits down with Powell during happy hour at Celestine’s restaurant. Despite Aaron’s tip, he doesn’t try the oysters. He talks Powell into giving him 1 minute to present his case. When he’s done, Powell tells him he should walk away from the investigation, just like Powell plans to do. Ben plays on Powell’s loyalty to Vance to try to change his mind.
Michaela takes what Helen said to heart. She thinks about it as she and Jared drive back to the station. Once they’re inside, she tells Jared that she’s not going to be a giant wrecking ball in his life, ruining the happiness he’s found with Lourdes. She says that she’s going to Captain Riojas to request a new partner, and walks away. Jared looks like that’s the last thing he wants.
Spoiler: It’s the last thing he wants.
Adrian, the entrepreneur from the group of passengers who came to the beach house earlier, comes across a group of Believers as he’s walking down the street. They ask to touch him, and he agrees. As they gather round, he seems to get an idea.
Grace looked like she had it under control for about one minute…
But then these two tag-teamed her, and it was all over. Not cool, Danny.
Olive lets Danny into the house for the beginning of her “replace Dad with Danny” scheme. Grace hears the doorbell and comes downstairs, but is disappointed to see Danny instead of Ben. She tries to get Danny to leave, but Olive and Danny gang up on her.
Grace: “No. We’re not having this conversation. Not now. Not in front of her. I think you should go.”
Olive: “I don’t want him to go.”
Grace: “Olive, this is a family matter.”
Olive: “What the h-ll, Mom, Danny is family.”
Olive goes into another room and slams the door. Grace follows her. Cal is sitting on the stairs, out of sight, but having heard the whole thing. He texts Ben to come over right away.
Having self-sabotaged her own life, Michaela goes to the beach house to swing the wrecking ball at another victim. She finds Paul, who still has no memory of the past, anxiously waiting for her. She viciously attacks him, telling him he’s a monster who beat his wife, so he doesn’t deserve happiness.
Then she brings herself into it as well, which is what she’s really yelling about anyway. Saanvi intervenes and sends her from the room. Paul stands there confused and horrified. He just wants his life back. He doesn’t remember any of what she was talking about, and can’t picture himself acting that way.
While abuse should absolutely be condemned, yelling at someone with amnesia for things in their past doesn’t do any good. Paul has a chance to change and become a better person. Let’s give him that chance.
Ben rushes into the house, having gotten Cal’s text. Cal points him in the direction of the dining room, where Grace, Olive and Danny, who didn’t leave when he was asked to, are arguing over who the grown ups are in the family.
WTF? Why is Danny still there and part of this discussion?
Ben asks the same question. He points out that he’s not dead anymore. They don’t need to bring in the replacement father when the superior original father is available. And, most especially, they don’t get to tell Ben he can’t be with his kids, then bring Danny in to replace him.
Danny crosses yet another line, and has the nerve to tell Ben that he’s the whole reason the family is messed up. Danny pretends he’s just the good Samaritan who’s trying to pick up the pieces.
Ben shoves Danny, hard. The women yell. Olive says that everything is her fault, because she invited Danny. Grace says it isn’t Olive’s fault.
But Grace blames Ben for having come home, and for her own wishiwashiness. She notes that Danny wants the family they built together. She feels that she always ends up the bad guy, because she doesn’t know what she wants. And she’s tired of it.
Danny puts on a brief show of pretending he’ll leave, but then stops, the moment Ben says he’ll leave instead. An honorable person would have given Ben his family back, or at least left Grace alone to make her decision. Danny is not honorable. Ben says that he didn’t understand until now how much Grace and Olive lost when he came home, so he’ll leave.
Ben says goodbye to the kids, barely holding it together while he does. He promises them he’ll see them tomorrow, then runs to the car so that he can cry there.
This attitude right here, from all three of them? This needs to stop.
Take them and run, Ben!! Run! Olive will come around, once you show her the beach house, Fiona and Saanvi. You have way cooler replacements to offer her than Grace does.
Jared knocks on Mick and Ben’s apartment door, apartment number 414, which is half of 828. Both Ben and Michaela lost their loved ones when they returned, so they feel like they’re only half alive.
Mick opens the door and tries to tell Jared that he shouldn’t be there, but he just tells her to stop, and pushes in past her.
Jared: “Stop telling me what to do or how I’m supposed to feel, Mick. Look, you asked me why I didn’t go to the hangar. I didn’t go because I knew if I saw you, I would’ve never gone home. Mick, you’re not a wrecking ball, you’re my soulmate.”
Michaela: “No, Jared, I’m not.”
Jared: “Yes, you are. I still wake up expecting to find you next to me. Mick, I still look at you, and the rest of the world just goes away. I love you. It’s always been you. I didn’t cheat death to live a half a life. Neither did you.”
Mick has finally been looking hopeful during the last part of his speech and when he finishes, they throw themselves at each other. There’s a light shining out of both of them as they stumble toward the bedroom, leaving a trail of clothes behind.
Ben is still in the car, weeping silently, in front of what used to be his family home, when he gets a call from Powell. He’s found the Black Hawk assigned to the Major. It’s a VIP transpo, assigned for someone’s personal use, but the name is classified. It left Langley Air Force Base, in Virginia, 10 minutes ago, and is headed for New York City. Powell says he’ll help Ben, because that’s what Vance would want, but tells Ben to be careful.
When Jared and Michaela are done making love, Jared falls asleep, and Michaela watches Jared. She gets a text from Ben telling her the Major is coming.
Ben records a tell-all interview with Aaron, but says that Aaron can’t air it yet. It’s Ben’s insurance policy. For now, he’ll act as a source for Aaron, like Deep Throat. He tells Aaron to be patient. “Who knows how high this all goes?” If something happens to him, Aaron can blow the story wide open by running the interview.
Grace and Danny say goodnight. He pretends that he’s not putting pressure on her, but he’ll continue to put pressure on her through Olive, at the very least. Grace looks troubled.
Ben and Mick stop by the beach house to tell Fiona that the Major is coming. Ben wants to move the test subjects deeper into hiding, where they can be kept safer, but Fiona refuses. Working with Paul is giving them insights that could help the others. Fiona doesn’t want to abandon them. Ben still thinks they need to do something more to keep everyone safe.
Mick sees the blizzard calling again. This time, it’s more clear that it’s a man’s voice. She sees a knee and a hand in the snow, from the perspective of the person they belong to, who kneels on the ground in the vision. When Mick comes out of it, she tells Ben and Fiona that she doesn’t think this is her calling at all, since it’s not her voice.
She thinks she’s having someone else’s calling.
It’s montage time!
Powell gets out of his car and walks toward his home, but is confronted by three well-dressed goons, who escort him to the standard black vehicle. He accepts his fate and doesn’t fight them.
Jared stands in the doorway to his bedroom and looks at Lourdes, who is asleep. He looked like it was a chore to be in bed with her during the morning scene in this episode. He’s probably dreading trying to pretend now. I’m not sure why he doesn’t just leave.
Grace stands in the doorway to Cal’s room and watches Cal and Olive sleep in Cal’s bed. There are no right answers or good choices for Grace. No matter what she does, she’ll disappoint at least one potential mate and one child. But she needs to take a firm stand, instead of letting herself be pulled back and forth between everyone who wants her. Taking some time alone, to get her head on straight, is probably the best choice. She’d just need to establish a firm set of rules and enforce them.

Autumn gets a cup of coffee at a coffee shop. She squeezes by a man to get to the condiments table, and freaks a little when he knows her name, but then he says he saw it on her cup. Just as she starts to relax, he says that she lost her phone. She starts to protest, but he stops her. This one is hers now. Plus, the Major would like a word. There’s a car waiting outside.
Saanvi tells Ben, Fiona and Mick that she thinks she knows what the Holy Grail is, only it’s a person, not an object. The trials were relatively successful, and were identifying which subjects were more sensitive to the callings than others. If the Major discovers that Cal is the passenger who’s most sensitive to the callings and other passengers…
Weird that they don’t consider that Michaela and Ben are close to Cal’s level. So is Saanvi. The Major probably wouldn’t mind collecting the top five most sensitive passengers. Hope they don’t regret bringing up Cal in front of Fiona.
Cal startles out of sleep and into the same calling as Michaela, but it’s more developed. He sees a flash of light, then hears “find her.” He’s in the blizzard, walking, and holding a page ripped from a magazine with an old photo of Michaela. The vision’s fingers are purpling with frostbite. In real life, Cal is shivering, and his hand is also purpling with frostbite. It’s dotted with snowflakes. He stares at his hand in shock.

Commentary
What would Karen have thought about Michaela and Jared? She said this in episode 5, while talking about Jared and Lourdes, when Steve was arguing that Jared still loved Mick: “Love is never something to feel guilty about. It’s a blessing.”
It seems as though Karen believed in following your heart and not wasting time.
As was mentioned at the end of episode 9, Robert Vance does indeed seem to have gone by “Bobby” with those who were closest to him, since the man giving his eulogy uses it several times. That still feels like a clue or an inside joke.
When Aaron mentions his podcast, 828-Gate, Ben acts surprised that podcasts have survived the test of time. He’s in total curmudgeonly dad mode through most of this episode. Two episodes ago, he was the cool hacker dad in the office poker game.
I love the name 828-Gate.
Okay, seriously, does Danny have a job? There’s never any indication that he does anything but his hobby sports. Is he a sports writer? Drug dealer? Gigolo? Wealthy investor? And whatever he’s doing, he can always drop it the second Olive beckons him. Doesn’t he have any friends or family? It makes him a very suspicious character, even though we know now that he’s not the Major- at least if Autumn was telling the truth.
I believe nothing without hard evidence.
As far as I’m concerned Danny’s villain status was firmly established this episode. I’m not sure what his endgame is, since Grace doesn’t have any money, and he’s apparently not the Major, but he’s not just in this because he’s a decent guy. Mostly because he’s not a decent guy. Anyone who can look at the victim of an airline accident, who lost 5 1/2 years of their life and their children’s lives, and blame them for it, is an awful person who has an ulterior motive.
How will Grace handle the frostbite? For sure she’ll find a way to blame Ben. Or will it disappear by morning?
Is anyone else hoping that Cal will develop actual superpowers? Personally, I’m rooting for him to be able to shoot lasers out of his eyes every time he sees Danny pull up to the house. Cal is such a good kid, we’d be able to trust him to use his super abilities wisely, just like we trust Captain America.
I hope they don’t do something stupid to drag out Jared splitting up with Lourdes. I really don’t want her to fake a pregnancy or a terrible illness so that he’ll feel obligated to stay with her. I’d rather see her be strong and go for revenge that see her be weak, clingy and manipulative in trying to keep someone who doesn’t want her.
I also hope they aren’t going to keep dragging out this “will they or won’t they” with Grace, Ben and Danny. Tonight’s drama was largely an exaggerated version of all of the drama that’s come before. I’m sick of it. Let Danny and Grace have each other. Good riddance.
Adrian is totally going to start selling his healing touch, and build his own personal cult.
Recurring themes in this episode:
The Holy Grail, according to legend, is the cup Christ used at the Last Supper. Over the course of time, the grail was lost. In medieval legend, King Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table took on the search for the Holy Grail as a quest. Though they searched far and wide for many years and had many adventures, both romantic and dangerous, they never found the grail.
Now, the term Holy Grail refers to something which is rare and valuable, and which will thus be very difficult to acquire. The Major is looking for her Holy Grail among the passengers, seeking the one passenger who responded best to the experiments. But others in the series have Holy Grails as well. Powell wants justice for Vance. Aaron wants the truth about Flight 828. Ben wants the identity and motive of the Major, then a way to stop her. Saanvi wants to understand the physical effects of Flight 828 on the passengers.
A wrecking ball is a construction tool used in the demolition of old buildings, before new construction can be started. As such, it’s not necessarily a bad thing, despite the way that Helen and Michaela use the term.
Demolishing a life that you want to keep, as with Helen’s new life, is obviously a bad thing.
But Jared’s life with Lourdes was always a consolation prize for the life he really wanted, a life where he was with Michaela. Lourdes knew that going into it, and pursued him anyway. In the long run, Lourdes could probably be happier with someone who wasn’t spending their life secretly pining for another woman. So taking a wrecking ball to the life she and Jared have created together, and getting the split over with as quickly and cleanly as possible, might be the kindest thing for everyone.
Ben and Cal also came back into Grace and Olive’s lives like a wrecking ball. Ben came into Vance, Fiona and Powell’s lives like a wrecking ball. Flight 828 was a giant wrecking ball.
In this episode, wanting my life back, cheating death, and living half a life all refer to the characters who are not living life to its fullest. They describe the passengers and their loved ones who have survived a near death experience, but are still waiting in the shadows of life, instead of grabbing life with both hands and fighting for what they want.
These characters are the opposite of the wrecking ball characters. The catatonic, kidnapped passengers would be the extreme metaphor for these images. They are currently living less than half a life. Paul Santino is now awake, but has no memory, so he’s more literally in a half-life state.
There is also the Angel of Death aspect, which always hovers over the passengers. This episode started in a graveyard, reminding Michaela and the viewers that the passengers aren’t safe and could die at any time. Karen Stone told both Michaela and Jared to live their lives, while they could, and she told Jared, in episode 5, to love without guilt.
The passengers all need to get started on their goals, on their search for their Holy Grails, whatever they may be, rather than putting them off, because another wrecking ball could come into their lives at any time. They may not get to cheat death again.
My post What Did “All Good Things” Really Mean to Karen Stone? discusses another recurring theme from this episode.

Manifest Season 1 Episode 10: Crosswinds Recap Manifest returns from its midseason break this week with episode 10, Crosswinds. Much of the episode is spent reminding the audience of what happened in the first half of the season, and picking up the pieces from the dangerous rescue of the missing 11 passengers from the Red Hook warehouse, where UDS was illegally holding them hostage.

Alcohol Use: None
Personality: Outwardly, Maryam’s personality can best be described as tomboyish. She’s outspoken, extroverted, charismatic, loves being around other guys, loves taking risks, and is generous and kind. She’s known to be fairly forward and direct, but not unkind. Highly adventurous and energetic, she’s a prime lover of street dancing. Athletic, she despises being inert for too long or similarly restricted. However, this doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to act at a gala, for she can became elegant and bear an eye-turning presence when she wants to. But after the show is over, she’d rather hang out with her friends.
4. ( Powers & Abilities. )
Skills:
Singing: Like her daughter Diva, Maryam bears an exquisite, operatic voice that is able to awaken the Chiropteran metamorphosis of those who have ingested her blood, its potency total. Her singing voiceclaim is Kimmy Skota.
Sword-fighting: Maryam wields dual kilij, the left in a reverse grip while the right normally. It tends to double the damage she can deal on enemies.
Unamity: Due to Maryam being the first Chiropteran and the first Queen, she has immunity to the blood of both blue & red queens; her Chevalier have the ability to blend among either Red or Blue Chevalier almost seamlessly; unlike her descendants, she doesn’t have to hibernate
Abilities:
Strength: The strength of the Queens is enormous. From being able to hurl opponents dozens of feet and forceful in damaging strength, to cleaving through impregnible Chiropteran flesh cleanly, to dealing mortal wounds, a Queen’s strength is prodigial.
Enhanced speed: Maryam is extremely agile to the point that it seems like she’s teleporting, speeding between points faster than the blink of an eye. This makes her evasion extremely difficult to ontend with.
Enhanced senses: The queens all bear enhanced sight, scent, and smell that excels beyond that of even ordinary vampires
Flight: Or rather, extreme, long distance leaping that mimics flight
Telepathy: The Queens bare a telepathic connection between them, their sister, their child and other descendents, and chevaliers.
Telekinesis: Blue Queens possess limited telekinetic abilities, able to do minor feats such as shattering glass windows
Shape-shifting: Chiropteran Queens, while they don’t possess the ability to shift into a chiropteran form, are able to change their physical appearance into almost anyone
Psychological overpowering: Blue queens possess an overbearing, psychologically damaging presence that can critically engender enemies to feel great fear if they choose, though rarely does Maryam rxude it in herself
Blood attributes:
Regeneration: With a high regeneration factor, wounds heal with extreme swiftness and rarely are truly fatal
Anti-aging: Maryam physically stopped aging when she reached the human age of 20
Producing chevaliers: When directly ingested, a Queen’s blood in the body of a human who has experienced drastic blood loss will turn into a Chevalier
Power drainage: Upon producing chevalier, a Queen must enter a hibernation cycle lasting 30 years with intervals of a few years of consciousness before hibernating again. Because Maryam has never produced Chevalier of her own, she has never hibernated before
Conceiving: When a Queen becomes pregnant, her blood loses its potency for a time. This is so that that the opposite twin–a red and blue one conceived every generation–doesn’t perish while in the mother’s womb
5. ( Quirks and Aspirations. )
Goals: Predominantly she aspires most to be as good a mother and grandmother she can be, and to continue pushing boundaries singing; to fight and battle evil, injustice,
Fears: The supernatural, losing herself to her monstrosity, harm and/or death befalling her family, becoming a monster, grievously sinning enough to be unable to return to her faith should it be too severe
Hobbies: Baking, knitting, sewing, swordsmanship, dance (bellydancing, street, samba], singing (operatic or casual], reading, needlework, travel, exploring, hanging with her clique in Rio’s streets, personal study, studying the Qu'ran
Habits: Playing with the fringes of her hijab or clothing

8. ( Personality and Astrological. )
Zodiac Sign: Pisces
MBTI: ENFJ, Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership.
Enneagram: Type 9w1, the Peacemaker (the Dreamer], Nines are accepting, trusting, and stable. They are usually creative, optimistic, and supportive, but can also be too willing to go along with others to keep the peace. They want everything to go smoothly and be without conflict, but they can also tend to be complacent, simplifying problems and minimizing anything upsetting. They typically have problems with inertia and stubbornness. At Their Best: indomitable and all-embracing, they are able to bring people together and heal conflicts.
Temperament: Sanguine, The sanguine temperament is traditionally associated with air. People with this temperament tend to be lively, sociable, carefree, talkative, and pleasure-seeking. They may be warm-hearted and optimistic. They can make new friends easily, be imaginative and artistic, and often have many ideas. They can be flighty and changeable; thus sanguine personalities may struggle with following tasks all the way through and be chronically late or forgetful. Pedagogically, they can be best reached through awakening their love for a subject and admiration of people
Moral Alignment: True Neutral, A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. She doesn’t feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil-after all, she would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, she’s not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. Neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. Neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.
Primary Vice: Wrath also known as “rage”, may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. Wrath, in its purest form, presents with self-destructiveness, violence, and hate that may provoke feuds that can go on for centuries. Wrath may persist long after the person who did another a grievous wrong is dead. Feelings of anger can manifest in different ways, including impatience, revenge, and self-destructive behavior, such as drug abuse or suicide.
Primary Virtue: Temperance, restraint, temperance, justice. Constant mindfulness of others and one’s surroundings; practicing self-control, abstention, moderation and deferred gratification. Prudence to judge between actions with regard to appropriate actions at a given time. Proper moderation between self-interest, versus public-interest, and against the rights and needs of others.
Element: Water, Water people are emotional, intuitive, deeply creative, empathetic, spiritual and psychic. Water allows people to emotionally connect with others. And yet, water people are so sensitive that they often have a hard time unplugging from life’s chaos. Consequently, many water people suffer from addiction as they grapple for distraction from life’s pain. Thus, water people tend to be secretive and private.
TIMELINE
1. Maryam born to her mother, Amanirenas, & Stefan in Palermo, Sicily near the beginning of Arab rule of the island in 670 AD.
2. From a young age, Stefan took his family to the Veneto region of Italy for mercantile reasons around 680 AD
3. Around 695 AD, due to her brightness & proficiency with languages, a Roman-born Algerian scholar named Cassius took her on as his student
4. Due to Maryam being the first Chiropteran, when Cassius learned of her status he voluntarily decided to become her first Chevalier
5. In the spring of 702 AD did both, with her parents’ blessing, sojourn to Alexandria, Egypt to further her studies in an internship to the Library of Alexandria where both became novice scholars; they converted to Islam at their mentors’ behest later that year
6. Not wanting to arouse suspicion, in 705 AD Cassius & Maryam left and decided to travel throughout the Maghreb and Levant, staying at various schools to study for a few years before moving on again
7. By the 800’s AD, Cassius remained in Algeria while Maryam journeyed on alone to Byzantium where she impressed Empress Theodora and became her son’s, Michael II, private tutor for several years
8. There, she became a close confidant of the Empress and was granted permission to study at various Orthodox monasteries throughout Constantinople when not tutoring her son
9. By 860, Maryam was forced to leave the city as Varangians were plundering it and other monastaries
10. From there, she fled to Macedonian Greece where, in 940 AD, she opened up a healing practice in collaboration with Greek Orthodox nuns in Athens, Greece
11. The practice was successful for a good decade before Maryam vanished and left Greece for Cyprus in 1050 AD
12. However, while she was able to live in relative anonymity for decades as an acclaimed herbalist who used various pseudonyms, in 1191 she was forced to defend herself and various people from the invading Crusaders under Richard I on England and was subsequently captured
13. From there, when it was discovered she was immortal, she fooled them into believing she was an angel of the lord, and in 1200 she was taken to England
14. Allowed to fight in wars, she became a ward of King John who hired her as a glorified soldier, predominantly fighting in wars against the French
15. After the signing of the Magna Carta, she disappeared for a time before fighting anonymously during the First Barons’ War & the Second, until she reappeared some time later as a loyal vassal of Henry III and dubbed Lady Miriam
16. In 1233, a Bavarian diplomat of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II named Lord Nathan Mahler came to England. To Maryam’s surprise, he was a chevalier of her mother’s
17. In the winter of 1235, after nearly two years of courtship she married Mahler, Maryam was allowed to move to Sicily, in Palermo, with Nathan and they had two daughters: Alphonsa & Petra Mahler
18. In 1244, when they believed Alphonsa & Petra were old enough, they moved to the Emirate of Granada, settling down in Granada where Maryam became a tutor at a university & Nathan feigning being a descendant of himself to work for the Holy Roman Emperor once more
19. This was continued until 1450 when Maryam was abducted and taken by men who mistook her as a vassal of the Sultan due to her learnedness
20. Sailed from Granada to Bulgaria, they were stopped by Turkish Akinici on their way to market and, once Maryam explained herself, she was taken to Sultan Mehmed II’s court in Edirne
21. There, he heard her out, and upon learning her relationship with Nathan Mahler, was permitted to remain in his city under his jurisdiction and protection
22. By 1453, she volunteered to fight along side him in the conquest of Constantinople, being one of the infantry that entered the city
23. In the winter of 1455, after taking up temporary residence in the now Istanbul, she wrote a letter to Nathan and learned her daughters and he were fine & planned to sojourn to Venice to hopefully meet with her again
24. In spring 1456, Maryam made it to Venice and there they settled down. Maryam occasionally went with Mehmed II at his behest on campaigns throughout the Balkans, proving herself an invaluable warrior and even tutor to his children when the occasions arose
25. Mehmed II was one of the few who learned of she and her family’s immortality, they believing it a boon of Allah instead of curse, this affirmed when she was at his deathbed in 1481
26. In the mid-1500’s Maryam left Constantinople for the isle of Burano in the Veneto where she decided to settle down & make lace while Alphonsa & Petra moved to Bavaria where they settled down with their husbands and took up careers as a teacher and nurse, respectively
27. Sometime in the 1500’s, Maryam heard word of the Dutch journeying to Japan and decided to join them, disguised as a sailor. Once there, she met Takashi Hinori, a chevalier of her mothers she hadn’t met before; they fell in love and she conceived shortly after
28. Driven by panic, over having twins again, Maryam left Japan at night and after several months, realized she couldn’t raise them—afraid of what Nathan would think. Using a female Chiropteran with a pouch, the Chiropteran flew away to deliver them to her parents but wound up getting frozen solid and were found by Joel Goldschmidt centuries later intact
29. By the mid-1500’s, she would sojourn around southern Asia before returning to Europe by the early 1600’s
30. In the early 1600’s, things began to look up when Maryam, acquiring a German printing press through her contacts in the Holy Roman Empire, opened up a print shop in Murano, Italy
31. This continued for a good few decades until the Italian plague swept over Venice in 1629 & Maryam worked as a nurse at nearby hospices, all through its 3 years
32. Deciding to leave once the plague had concluded, by the mid-1700’s Maryam had come to Austria to begin being taught classical instruments & composition under the tutelage of classics masters
33. She oft traveled between Austria, Hungary, Romania, and her native Serbia and did throughout the 1700’s, sometimes conscripting herself in native wars to help fund her education

FACTS ON WICCA...

Blog Training Course On Wicca Teachings of The Elect Magical Shops
The article below describes how Wicca draws from the Old Traditions of Witchcraft. While this is true, we would simply like to clarify that Witchcraft and Wicca, while simular in many respects, are not the same. One can be a Witch, without being a Wiccan, just as a person can be a Christian, without being a Baptist. Wicca is a recognized religion, while Witchcraft itself is not considered a religion. Thus, Wicca might best be described as a modern religion, based on ancient Witchcraft traditions. What Is Wicca
Contrary to what those who choose to persecute or lie about us wish to believe, Wicca is a very peaceful, harmonious and balanced way of life which promotes oneness with the divine and all which exists.
Wicca is a deep appreciation and awe in watching the sunrise or sunset, the forest in the light of a glowing moon, a meadow enchanted by the first light of day. It is the morning dew on the petals of a beautiful flower, the gentle caress of a warm summer breeze upon your skin, or the warmth of the summer sun on your face. Wicca is the fall of colorful autumn leaves, and the softness of winter snow. It is light, and shadow and all that lies in between. It is the song of the birds and other creatures of the wild. It is being in the presence of Mother Earths nature and being humbled in reverence. When we are in the temple of the Lord and Lady, we are not prone to the arrogance of human technology as they touch our souls. To be a Witch is to be a healer, a teacher, a seeker, a giver, and a protector of all things. If this path is yours, may you walk it with honor, light and integrity.
Wicca is a belief system and way of life based upon the reconstruction of pre-Christian traditions originating in Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. While much of the information of how our ancestors lived, worshiped and believed has been lost due to the efforts of the medieval church to wipe our existence from history, we try to reconstruct those beliefs to the best of our ability with the information that is available.
Thanks to archaeological discoveries, we now have basis to believe that the origins of our belief system can be traced even further back to the Paleolithic peoples who worshipped a Hunter God and a Fertility Goddess. With the discovery of these cave paintings, estimated to be around 30,000 years old, depicting a man with the head of a stag, and a pregnant woman standing in a circle with eleven other people, it can reasonably be assumed that Witchcraft is one of the oldest belief systems known in the world toady. These archetypes are clearly recognized by Wiccan as our view of the Goddess and God aspect of the supreme creative force and predate Christianity by roughly 28,000 years making it a mere toddler in the spectrum of time as we know it.
Witchcraft in ancient history was known as "The Craft of the Wise" because most who followed the path were in tune with the forces of nature, had a knowledge of Herbs and medicines, gave council and were valuable parts of the village and community as Shamanic healers and leaders. They understood that mankind is not superior to nature, the earth and its creatures but instead we are simply one of the many parts, both seen and unseen that combine to make the whole. As Chief Seattle said; "We do not own the earth, we are part of it." These wise people understood that what we take or use, we must return in kind to maintain balance and equilibrium. Clearly, modern man with all his applied learning and technology has forgotten this. Subsequently, we currently face ecological disaster and eventual extinction because of our hunger for power and a few pieces of gold.
For the past several hundred years, the image of the Witch has been mistakenly associated with evil, heathenism, and unrighteousness. In my humble opinion, these misconceptions have their origin in a couple of different places.
To begin, the medieval church of the 15th through 18th centuries created these myths to convert the followers of the old nature based religions to the churches way of thinking. By making the Witch into a diabolical character and turning the old religious deities into devils and demons, the missionaries were able to attach fear to these beliefs which aided in the conversion process. Secondly, as medical science began to surface, the men who were engaged in these initial studies had a very poor understanding of female physiology, especially in the area of a women's monthly cycles. The unknowns in this area played very well with the early churches agenda lending credence to the Witch Hunters claims and authority. The fledgling medical professions also stood to benefit greatly from this because it took the power of the women healers away giving it to the male physicians transferring the respect and power to them.
Unfortunately these misinformed fears and superstitions have carried forward through the centuries and remain to this day. This is why many who follow these nature oriented beliefs have adopted the name of Wicca over its true name of Witchcraft to escape the persecution, harassment and misinformation associated with the name of Witchcraft and Witch not to mention the bad publicity the press and Hollywood has given us simply to generate a profit.
What Witchcraft is: Witchcraft is a spiritual system that fosters the free thought and will of the individual, encourages learning and an understanding of the earth and nature thereby affirming the divinity in all living things. Most importantly however, it teaches responsibility. We accept responsibility for our actions and deeds as clearly a result of the choices we make. We do not blame an exterior entity or being for our shortcomings, weaknesses or mistakes. If we mess up or do something that brings harm to another, we have no one but ourselves to blame and we must face the consequences resulting from those actions. No ifs, ands or buts and no whining...
We acknowledge the cycles of nature, the lunar phases and the seasons to celebrate our spirituality and to worship the divine. It is a belief system that allows the Witch to work with, not in supplication to deities with the intent of living in harmony and achieving balance with all things.
The spells that we do involve healing, love, harmony, wisdom and creativity. The potions that we stir might be a headache remedy, a cold tonic, or an herbal flea bath for our pets. We strive to gain knowledge of and use the natural remedies placed on this earth by the divine for our benefit instead of using synthetic drugs unless absolutely necessary.
Wiccan believe that the spirit of the One, Goddess and God exist in all things. In the trees, rain, flowers, the sea, in each other and all of natures creatures. This means that we must treat "all things" of the Earth as aspects of the divine. We attempt to honor and respect life in all its many manifestations both seen and unseen.
Wiccan learn from and revere the gift of nature from divine creation by celebrating the cycles of the sun, moon and seasons. We search within ourselves for the cycles that correspond to those of the natural world and try to live in harmony with the movement of this universal energy. Our teachers are the trees, rivers, lakes, meadows, mountains and animals as well as others who have walked this path before us. This belief creates a reverence and respect for the environment, and all life upon the Earth.
We also revere the spirits of the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water which combine to manifest all creation. From these four elements we obtain insight to the rhythms of nature and understand they are also the rhythms of our own lives.
Because Witches have been persecuted for so many centuries, we believe in religious freedom first! We do not look at our path as the only way to achieve spirituality, but as one path among many to the same end. We are not a missionary religion out to convert new members to think the same as we do. We are willing to share our experience and knowledge with those who seek our wisdom and perspective however. We believe that anyone who is meant for this path will find it through their own search as the Goddess speaks to each of us in her time and way. Wiccan practice tolerance and acceptance toward all other religions as long as those faiths do not persecute others or violate the tenant of "Harm None."
What Witchcraft is not: More information about Witchcraft is available in the Frequently Asked Questions section, but in the interim, here are the main points.
Witchcraft or Wicca is not a cult. We do not proclaim ourselves to be spokespersons for the divine or try to get others to follow us as their leaders.
We do not worship Satan or consort with Demons. Satan is a Christian creation and they can keep him. We do not need a paranoid creation of supreme evil and eternal damnation to scare us into doing the right thing and helping others. We choose to do the right thing and love our brothers and sisters because it IS the right thing and it feels good to do it. I suppose it is a maturity thing.
We do not sacrifice animals or humans because that would violate our basic tenant of "Harm None." Anyone who does and claims to be a Wiccan or a Witch is lying.
We have no need to steal or control the life force of another to achieve mystical or supernatural powers. We draw our energy from within, our personal relationship with the divine and nature.
We do not use the forces of nature or the universe to hex or cast spells on others. Again, "Harm None" is the whole of the law.
Witches have a very strict belief in the Law of Three which states that whatever we send out into our world shall return to us three fold either good or bane. With this in mind, a "True Witch" would hesitate in doing magick to harm or manipulate another because that boomerang we throw will eventually come back to us much larger and harder then when we threw it.
This is not to say that Witches are perfect, we are human too just like everyone else and make mistakes and errors in judgment. Just as there are parents who love and nurture their children, there are parents who abuse their children. As there are many who devote their lives to giving and helping mankind, likewise there are those who devote their lives to taking advantage of and using people for their own gain. Unfortunately the same flaws in human nature applies to witches too.
Most of us continually strive to consider all potential outcomes of our thoughts and actions pausing to seriously consider the consequences before undertaking a ritual, spell or rite that could go astray. It is when we follow the path with the love of the Goddess in our hearts and adhere to the basic tenant of the Reed that our works are beneficial and we achieve harmony and balance with all things.
The heart of Wicca is not something summed up into a few short words and can often take on different meaning to each since the Lord and Lady touch us in different ways. To gain a fuller understanding of the Craft, I urge you visit the other pages on this site as well as following the links to a select group of exceptional Wiccan and Witchcraft sites. Through the wisdom and words set down through the ages, you will find that you are able to understand the basis of our beliefs and how they may apply to you. Your inner voice will also quickly let you know if the intent of what you are reading is for superficial purposes to benefit self instead of working to benefit the whole. Remember to read with your heart, for it is when you see life and the world with your heart and spirit that you truly gain an understanding of what Wicca is.
Blessed Be!

Some personnal views on Paganism: building my path
Answering questions to a book called Paganism, written by Higgibotham, wich I can’t recommand enough for anyone who identifies as a pagan and needs clarification and further reflexion and insights in the topic. Truely enlighting. This is the first part of a little serie of answering paganism related prompts.
Wich season of the year is your favorite? What do you remember from your childhood about this season that has special meaning for you? How do you celebrate this season now?
It’s Fall, but also Spring. I’m gonna speak about Fall as we are drawn in it at the moment. At a psychic level, Fall is a time for introversion, return to the intimacy between close ones. Fall is human life keeping on activating: working, studying, moving. It’s the last spectacular breath of nature in all its dramatic splendor. It’s that mysterious ambience around Samhain, where you can feel something, something more in the air, something loud, presence and a deep, profound calm as the days fade earlier each time. Autumn is death time, change time, an ending cycle and the opening of a period of a well deserved rest.
When I was a child, Fall wasn’t an easy moment. But still I liked it, sensorially, it was glorious: colors, smells, humidity, rotten wood, dying insects, stunning colors all around, loud cracing leafs on the street. I also enjoyed that the routines from the new scholar year were now set into place until June. Going to my dear kind neighbour after school and having a snack and cool manual activity while grey and rainy outside, TV shows on the evenings ; maths and dance lessons, the precious moments spent playing alone into my room. Family dinners, before the divorce, then dinners with my mum and sibling. Mom cooking always the same things to us, just because she sucked at cooking and also because of the induced confort of repetitive routine. People with Asperger’s have often food routines, wich can be very eliminative. Soups, croque-monsieur and gnocchis. The strong feeling of being protected while at home contrasting to the disturbing one of being weak at shool. But invicible besides of nature falling asleep and dying slowly. Remembrance that I too, gonna die someday, even if I’ve been ables to totally accept and process that only at 25 (before that I would be concerned and sad only about my loved ones, idea of my own death would remain an abstract mystery).
Now I honour that season, and I live space for that strong feeling of mystery to express and grow. I wanna understand and keep in touch with the unknown and the unseen, and I think it’s the best time of the year to question and cultivate that. I always loved darkness. Now I discovered about Shadow Work, I have a tool to explore hidden aspects of my psyche (shadow working with tarot works brilliantly!). It’s the moment you decide (or not) to try and work with forces, set intentions and work on manifest them. I definitely give more place to ritual and meditation at fall. And this year is all about studying: spirituality, mindfulness, tarot. I need to learn and write. I’m gonna open an etsy shop at Spring 2018 where I will sell my photos (shown on my instagram @flowersbecomesscreens) and will propose Tarot readings, in French only at first and then in English as soon as I feel comfortable enough to do so. I’ve been into a deep and pretty long process of healing and now and I feel I am ready to transmit tips and advices in order to help people to do so with the help of tarot. I’m also gonna keep on with my youtube channel. If you arrived at this point of my post then I thank you :) and you must know I’m gonna write more personnal “blogging” stuff on this platform. Personnal thoughts, spirituality, self development and tarot related posts I guess.
So yeah I’m baack home :D

Self-Care for Fall
Down here in the Lowcountry, our anticipation for fall and sweater weather is going strong even as warm humid days linger on. Beach days and cut-offs aside, signs of fall are in the air! Leaves are changing color, days are getting shorter, nights get cooler, and pumpkin spice lattes headline the menus. This time of year, our metal element is most active, and its corresponding organ pair, the Lungs and Large Intestine, require the most attention. According to Chinese Medicine theory, our focus now turns to strengthening the Lung Qi and building our Defensive Qi (our immune system), and practicing that which we observe in nature: letting go and purification. As you enjoy the cooler fall days and those chai lattes, keep in mind these 7 ways you can support the vitality of your Metal element and the wellbeing of your mind, body, and spirit:
1. Protect Your Neck
With the seasonal transition into Fall comes greater susceptibility to the common cold. In Chinese Medicine, "wind" is said to carry 1,000 diseases. Wind, which blows in and out of town quickly, is a great metaphor for the spread of viruses, including the common cold and flu. Acupuncture points along the back of the neck and upper back are especially vulnerable to the entrance of wind. Wearing a scarf helps protect you from a wind (or viral) invasion and assists your body in coping with the change from a warm season to a cool one.
2. "I'm strong to the finish, 'cause I eats me Spinach [and kale and chard and bok choy!]"
Take a hint from Popeye and make a dietary investment in leafy greens! These vitamin and fiber-packed veggies open and strengthen the lungs, responsible for your immune system. Learn more about the nutrients in specific greens here. In Chinese Element theory, each element has a corresponding “taste” and color. Aromatic and spicy flavors that “open the pores” and make you sweat, like ginger, black pepper, and scallions, is the taste that resonates with the Metal element and help keep the Lungs clear. Even better, foods that are white and spicy like onions, garlic, horseradish, and leeks, will give your Lungs and immune system a boost.
3. Don't Dry Out
The lungs are a delicate organ that are easily damaged by dryness. The lungs govern the skin and nose, which are also susceptible to dry conditions. Many of you have experienced how uncomfortable dry nasal passages or skin can be! Dryness can additionally manifest as an issue for the lungs' yang pair - the large intestine - showing up as constipation. As you begin to turn your heat on or tend a fire, consider running a humidifier to keep your lungs moist. Drink plenty of water and supplement with electrolytes (Concentrace trace minerals or coconut water) if you feel dehydrated. Plus, it's the prime season for slow cooking and stews, dishes that contain lots of liquid in addition to wholesome nutrition.
4. Keep the Lungs Clear
While you avoid dryness, you also want to refrain from eating foods that create pathological dampness. This dampness manifests as symptoms such as nasal congestion, productive coughs, brain fog, heaviness, abdominal bloating and gas. Dairy and sugar are two of the main culprits. When you eat dampening foods, your body creates phlegm. Phlegm makes it harder for your body to expel viruses or bacteria that you encounter, resulting in worsened colds, sinus infections, bronchitis and pneumonia. If you’re feeling phlegmy, include some spicy and aromatic foods to open and clear the Lungs, like garlic, fennel, scallions, and chai spices (cloves, ginger, cardamom). Essential oils like eucalyptus, grapefruit, fir, and tea tree also help to open the airways and resolve phlegm.
5. Practice Letting Go
Fall represents the Metal element, which relates to the Lungs and Large Intestine. These organs are associated with inspiration and letting go, sadness and grief. As we embrace Autumn, it is a great reminder to reflect on what you appreciate in your life, what you can let go of. As we observe the leaves falling from the trees and the grass browning, we have an immediate experience of decay, of loss. Can we be comfortable with this natural part of life? Can we allow ourselves to feel the sadness that comes into our lives and let it go in a healthy manner? As we transition into Fall, you may find yourself wanting to forgive old wounds, clean out your closets, or refine the structure of your life. The Metal element gives us an annual lesson in letting go and purification: this process helps your body's Qi flow smoothly and your Metal element find balance.
6. Take Extra Care with an Herbal First Ait Kit
This time of year, when our Lungs and immune system are most vulnerable, there are a few essential oils, vitamins, and herbal supplements that are a must to keep in your cabinets!
Supplements:
Vitamin D: Regulates the immune system, protects your body from disease, and studies suggest it can decrease cancer cell growth. Vitamin D plays an important role in enhancing your mood and energy, which may have a tendency to wane as the days get shorter and there is less sun exposure.
Quercetin: A common flavonoid found in many fruits and vegetables that offers significant antioxidant protection for cells lining the sinuses, reduces allergic responses by stabilizing mast cells (which release histamine and other inflammatory signals), and boosts the immune system. Foods with the highest quercetin content include apples, onions, and green tea.
Probiotics: This is the "good" bacteria that supports the health of your colon and Large Intestine. Building healthy gut flora improves digestion, mood, and immune health. Fermented foods and yogurt are good sources of probiotics, and you can also find them in pill form. Ginger: Taken as a tea or supplement, ginger is warming and drying, and an excellent herbal ally for respiratory illnesses and clearing congestion. The herb also soothes an upset stomach and is a powerful anti-inflammatory, immune boosting agent.
Chinese Herbal Formulas:
Yin Qiao San: A cooling, healing herbal formula for "wind-heat" invasion, with symptoms of sudden fever, sweating, a sore throat, and yellow phlegm or nasal discharge.
Gui Zhi Tang: A warming herbal blend with ginger and cinnamon for symptoms of a "wind-cold" invasion, including sudden chills, stiff neck, and clear nasal disharge.
Essential Oils:
Eucalyptus and Tea Tree essential oil can offer support when you feel susceptible to catching a cold or succumbing to allergies in this Fall season. Eucalyptus globulus in particular has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and decongestant properties, making it a great ally in cold and flu season. It supports the respiratory system by clearing the Lungs and resolving phlegm. Tea tree works well in combination with eucalyptus, because it strengthens Lung Qi and has antifungal, disinfectant, and antihistamine properties.
If you are feeling vulnerable to catching a cold, apply a few drops to the center of your chest, add a few drops to your bath or shower and inhale, or use in an oil diffuser to keep the air clean and your lungs open. 7. Treat Yourself! And, of course, consider an acupuncture treatment to help ease your transition into the new season, balance your metal element, and improve your mood and immunity! Feeling phlegmy from maybe one too many lattes? Cupping therapy is often applied to the upper back to help open the chest and expel phlegm from the lungs, and moxabustion helps warm the lung meridian, resolve cold and dampness in the body, and stimulate the immune system. Chinese Medicine proposes that we will feel our best if we live according to the seasons. In the Fall, it is our Metal that shines! With appropriate diet and lifestyle adjustments, we can cultivate a healthy metal element, a strong immune system, and peace of mind.

A San Diego Psychic Reading and Spiritual Energy Healing To Help You Let Go
“IN HONOR OF AUTUMN – THE SEASON FOR LETTING GO”LIKE LEAVES FALLING OFF A TREE,FALL IS THE TIME FOR LETTING GO.WHAT ARE YOU READY TO LET GO OF?
WHAT HAVEN’T YOU LET GO OF THAT’S BRINGING YOUR ENERGY DOWN?
From the desk of Joe Gacoscos:Dear Reader,You probably hear this from your friends all the time…“Oh just let go!”“He’s no good for you, you should just leave.”“That’s a dead-end job – just walk away.”“That was a long time ago, why are you still holding on?Or you might even say to yourself, “Why is it so hard for me to let go – that was so long ago?”“Even with all my spiritual tools and meditation, why am I still stuck?”“I just feel weighed down all the time.”“I wish I can just feel like myself again.”Can you relate?
WHAT ARE YOU STILL HOLDING ON TO?
Modern society suggests that the key to life is success.
And in order to be successful, we must gain, gain, gain in order to achieve!
So we work, push, and strive to gain more and more, often to the point of exhaustion.
But what is the cost of that? Mentally, emotionally, spiritually, we lose touch of what’s really important.
The spiritual irony is we forget what’s important in the first place…
IS THERE ANYMORE ROOM…FOR YOU?
Like a closet that’s likely FULL of stuff you don’t need, your aura, your chakras, and your body are likely filled to the brim.Like a tree in the summer full of leaves, imagine if that tree were to continue into fall and winter trying to hold onto all of those leaves? With much less sun and colder temperatures, you’d say it’s silly for that tree to keep trying to hold on to all it’s leaves, right? It would actually take MORE energy for that poor tree to survive the blistering cold winter. This exhausted tree just won’t have that kind of energy to sustain itself! And so, the tree just LETS GO of those leaves…
THE ULTIMATE IRONY – THE MORE YOU LET GO, THE MORE YOU CAN GAIN
Rather than trying to gain one more technique, or gain one more piece of insight, get that one extra spiritual message, here’s what I suggest instead…
Get ClearEspecially if you have been trying for a while to let go of ____________ (fill in the blank – relationships, jobs, recurring thoughts, bad habits, etc.), it’s likely there may be some energy block that keeps you from seeing the real core issueA psychic reading can help you see beyond with an alternative perspectiveAs you may have heard before, the key to healing is to first identify the issue
Get to the CoreHave you noticed that you may only be touching the surface of what’s really going on?When we heal only at the surface, there’s a chance that that issue will easily return again. However, when you can get to the core of the issue – old karma, old family programming, old agreements with spirit guides, stuck energies from old traumas – then you can more get to the root cause to make your desired changes
Get a HealingAs a psychic energy healer, often what I see are
Stuck energies in one or more of your chakras
Old programming or unconscious energies in your aura
The energies from old karma, sometimes from past lives
Your chakras and energy field out of alignmentFortunately, once the issue is identified, it is then much easier as a healer to move these energies out.
You’ll feel more grounded and lighter as you release these old energies!
Get More Space For Rest So You Can Flow!Like leaves falling off a tree in the fall and winter, you let go.There’s now potential and more room for you to create anewAnd just like the rest of nature, sometimes it’s just best to “hibernate” a bitWhy not create your own “mini-winter” to hibernate?Often this becomes fertile ground to hatch new and fresh ideas!
Get Back in the GrooveThe great thing about honoring the seasons of life – spring, summer, fall, and winter – is they provide the perfect example of our innate creativity
Fall: Letting go
Winter: Hibernating
Spring: Rebirth
Summer: Full bloom of new ideasOnce you understand this cycle, you’ll start to see this playing out in many areas of your life:
Love
Relationships
Work and career
Spirituality
Money
Beliefs
You’ll also see some cycles are quicker than others, and often not on the same trajectory
Some areas you’re in autumn, some areas you’re in spring!
And yes, in some areas, you might be in that eternal “summer” even in the din of winter.
NEED HELP HEALING AND LETTING GO?
If you’re still reading, and you’ve tried all you could to help yourself…
If your best friend’s advice doesn’t work, and honestly, you find their advice is annoying and intrusive…
If you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired…
If you believe there is a spiritual aspect to finding help & guidance in ways you may not have thought of…
If you feel like answers are in your grasp but not quite within reach…
And if this message calls to you, then I recommend you take advantage of November’s 90 Minutes for $99 Special right away! This is great for San Diego residents and by phone or by Skype!
