#i mostly only check tags and blogs in certain fandoms

Sometimes in certain posts, I look at people's tags and bios just in case proship is in their dni, and most people don't have anything mentioning that so I assume it's safe. So because of that I get tired of checking and will just reblog/like and its a much chiller experience. And I just have to ask, do antis check every single blog and post they interact with to see if they're proship?? Cause they sounds exhausting.

Tags, Glorious Tags
Some encouragement to follow and check them more consistently…
So I did a little experiment: Tags with under 1k followers don’t get their numbers shown on Tumblr. I put the Sandman characters through the search, and while there were no big surprises (if we think about the main fandom demographic), the numbers were still staggering.
I tried all sorts of different iterations, too, and included the higher/most frequently used ones:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note to self: “Lucienne the librarian” is not a popular tag. Welp, I shall tag differently in the future.
Two outliers because people will also follow these for the Lucifer/Hellblazer series/comics, not The Sandman:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s it. All other characters have under 1,000 followers. I’ve also added the shipping tags to the bottom of this post. Read them and weep/laugh/whatever feels right.
Even if we take into consideration that the characters who already made an appearance in the series will get higher numbers than the ones that non-comic readers haven’t met yet (because let’s be honest: This is currently largely a TV-, not a comics fandom):
Where is Desire (I find that really surprising considering I constantly read how much people love Mason)?
Where is Despair?
Where is Calliope (she has a tag, but that’s in no way Sandman related. All Sandman ones are under 1k)?
Where is Johanna Constantine (also extremely surprising to me)?
Where is Rose Walker, who had a whole arc?
Where are Fiddler’s Green, Unity (both too old presenting, I get it, but it’s just driving the point home that it’s not about narrative importance but having the hots 🤣), Gault, Nada, to just name a few?
This has nothing to do with screen time allocated to characters, as should also be obvious. Even Matthew is more popular than other (mostly female) characters who drive the story, or are at least a big part of it.
It would be easy to say, “Well, these are just the favourites, nothing we can do about that.” And while that’s true, it’s also not quite as simple…
Fandom favourites vs checking the tags
As someone who runs a Sandman blog that tries to cover all characters (and of course I cover some more than others, so it’s definitely not about that) and isn’t too interested in shipping, I can see how the reblogs stack—they come through people’s mutuals, not through tags (bar the popular two or three).
But if we really love a character, we need to check and follow their tags consistently, and I can tell that’s often not the case but for said popular two or three. Posts for those tend to get default engagement because even people who don’t follow me check these tags, and they reblog straight from there (i.e. not through a third person). Other characters though? Only if someone with a relatively popular blog reblogs (and that hardly ever happens, and if it does, it’s usually for Death, Delirium and maybe Lucienne). It never happens straight through the tags.
Which also makes it somewhat worth thinking about that we, on the one hand, bemoan that no one cares about certain characters while at the same time heavily relying (maybe not even consciously) on mutuals who do check tags to feed that stuff into our dash (and we probably often don’t scroll down very far either). I see those little fandom bubbles very clearly because my blog is pretty broad (as in not ship-centric) and I notice, on the regular, who kicks off the chain for those underappreciated characters no one but them goes into the tags for (you’re doing the Lord’s work 🫂).
This is not about saying some characters should be more popular or others shouldn’t, because people like what they like, and that’s okay. Morpheus is and always will be my favourite, and apparently, I’m in good company 😉
But I also love other characters of narrative importance, and if we want to see their art, their fics, their metas, we need to follow and, above all, check their tags. Regularly. Because that stuff is there. Maybe not quite as plentiful, but the problem is also: If no one interacts with it, people just give up.
But we need to actively look for it ourselves, not just through our mutuals. We also need to think about reblogging more. Liking is great but doesn’t quite cut it for the characters we want to see more of. It’s not how Tumblr works.
And if you create, it’s also good to keep in mind that some people will occasionally say they like or even love those characters, but they factually don’t love them enough to follow their tags. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, but the pipeline maintains itself fairly effortlessly while left field stuff is definitely more and harder individual work. And I get that it can feel tiring at times (ask me how I know).
But long story short: Please don’t let it discourage you so it turns into a vicious cycle. Keep on checking the tags, because there are people who create for them. Don’t just like but also reblog. Keep on tagging your stuff so people who love other characters than the main two or three, and those who ship rare pairs, can find you. (Remember that only the first five tags show up in tracked tags and only the first 20 will show up in searches, and that reblogs show up in neither.) It’s hard to cut through the popular tags, but it becomes even harder if fewer and fewer people are trying.
Plus: If you check the character tags outright, you don’t have to wade through everything else. The Sandman doesn’t just consist of its main tag.
And because it’s actually quite funny, I’ll just let the shipping tags speak for themselves (I just picked a few of the most “popular” ones in their different iterations, because if the stats for more popular ships already look like this, we don’t even need to think about rare pairs):
Corintheus: <1k
Morphienne: <1k
Morphanna/ConstantDream: <1k
Dreamuse: <1k
DreamingStar: <1K
Hellmuse: <1k
Gaultienne: <1k
Dreamling:
Tumblr media
Even compared to individual character tags, the only one outshining Dreamling is the good old Dream Lord himself. Plus the main Sandman tag (but only #the sandman, because #sandman comes in at a comparably paltry 9.9k). Any questions left as to why most people are here? 😉But again: There are others. Follow and check the tags.

How to Use A03 if you're used to Algorithm Fed Content: A kind primer.
There's a post making the rounds where someone, I'm going to assume earnestly, asks the question, "How do people figure out what's good to read on AO3?" And predictably, while there have been some people trying to answer that question assuming that it's being asked in good faith, there have been some people ridiculing this person. Basically, spewing out the fandom equivalent of "git gud noob." Like I said... I'm assuming this person was asking out of actual ignorance and curiosity, mostly because I see a lot of people also lamenting the fact that algorithm-fed apps and fandom spaces are creating a generation of fans who don't know how to actively search for and curate the content they consume. So when they get on a place like AO3 or even Tumblr to an extent, they don't know how to find the things they want and how to curate their experience. And so I guess that's why I pulled up short when this person's question has been getting so much snark. Here's a teachable moment. Even if they are being a troll in this case (which I doubt) here's the chance to give the facts on how AO3 works so they can use this amazing archive themselves. And not just them but anyone who happens upon the post. So... I'm not an AO3 whiz by any means. I don't spend a lot of time digging around in the tags and tools and bells and whistles of the search engine. If someone else wants to reblog with some tips there, go for it. It's the best thing about AO3 in my opinion... other than the lack of censorship. But here's my tips on how to find something you'll like. This is pretty much what I do.
-Go to your fandom of choice's tag. Filter for the rating you want (Teen, Explicit, etc), and then just start scrolling. Take a peek at things that sound interesting from the tags or summaries. You might have to scroll for a bit, and you might hit some stuff that's not for you, but you'll find something eventually. Especially if it's a bigger fandom like SPN, MCU, Hannibal, or Critical Role. -If you discover/know that there's something that bothers you (unfinished work, ABO dynamics, whatever) you can filter for those tags! This is how you curate your experience. It's an active process and there are no shadow-bans or anything in place to keep sensitive content corralled into a certain area. There's a rating system, and there's tags, but nothing to actually make those mean anything unless the user blocks them. While it takes more thought than mindless scrolling, you get to play a role in actively searching out new things for yourself that an algorithm might gloss over. -Likewise, if there's something you really like or are in the mood for, search for that tag in particular. Fluff, Hurt/Comfort, Coffee Shop AU... whatever your jam is. -Be careful using metrics like views, comments, and kudos as benchmarks. They fluctuate wildly by pairing, and from fandom to fandom, and are heavily influenced by date of publishing. And just because the majority of people like something, doesn't mean it's for you. If something sounds interesting... read a few paragraphs and see what's up! -Check out the Collections page under the "Browse" tabs. Often these are curated lists either from individual fans or from fanfic writing events like Big Bangs, Zines, and gift exchanges. Fanfic events like these often attract pretty experienced writers so not only is the quality likely to be very good, it's also likely to have some pretty prolific authors -When you find an author you like, and have read your fill of their offerings, see what they have bookmarked or what collections their works are in. You might find some similarly interesting stuff. It's also worth seeing if they have a blog or other social media listed on their about page. They might post some links there or be part of communities elsewhere on the internet that can open up new search avenues for you. -Don't be afraid to read old stuff. Fandoms change and evolve. There's a golden age of MCU fanfic in the 2010s that's just unlike anything else. And the Hannibal fandom has been and always will be a trip, but man it's been a wild ride through some interesting places and obsessions. -And lastly... for the love of god, comment on old stuff. It's not creepy or weird. In fact, if you like someone's writing who hasn't written in a bit, leave them a nice comment. There's this magical thing that happens when you do. Sometimes... THEY START WRITING AGAIN! (saying this from experience here.) Remember... the A in AO3 stands for Archive. It's not a social media platform. It's a library. There is -supposed- to be old stuff there. And you are absolutely allowed to read it and enjoy it and tell the author that. In fact... please do. As I said, feel free to add on if you want to give tips of your own. But be kind. I see a lot of talk about how algorithms are changing the face of fandom and how people interact with fan made content. Let's reach out and educate instead of ridicule.

I've seen many posts about people missing how common asks used to be so I have been trying to send about an ask a week. Now I send this ask first anytime I follow someone as I really don't want to bother anyone, so I'd love to know if you enjoy receiving asks and if so what kind of asks. Not having energy for asks or being comfortable with them is perfectly okay.
The categories I have in my ask notebook that I file under are in colour. Please feel free to make your response as long as you want or private (the asker cannot directly respond to private responses).
Self, Job/Work: please let me know what you are comfortable with from eh idk just ask it to nothing personal at all.
Baggishield/Tolkien, Dragon Age, Johnlock/Sherlock, ineffable spouses, other fandom: Please let me know what fandoms. I think my main fandoms and ships are Bagginshield/The Hobbit, Sherlock/Johnlock, Dragon Age Inquisition, {Pippin/Faramir Merry/Eowyn}/The Lord of the Rings and I dip my toes in a few that I currently can't remember but ships I don't engage with the canon of at all are: Good Omens but only for Crowley/Azirapheal, Stranger Things but only for Steve/Eddie , The Witcher but only for Geralt/Jaskier.
OC's, art/drawing, their writing, blog specific only
Story snippets ideas and prompts: Do you like receiving them?
Pets: I'd love to know all about them
Garden and Hobbies: What type of gardening and/or hobbies?
Like being tagged in things: If so what kinds of things?
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
Oh, hi!! Well, firstly, thanks for the follow!!! Secondly, I love asks! I (unfortunately) don't always get to certain things (because life and,,,life lmao!) but I do love getting them, and I really want to make the effort to get back to engaging so! Here's the info for your notebook!
Self, Job/Work: Just ask! I usually prefer to keep vague on some things, mostly because I like to keep "professional" socials separate from my fandom ones lol and would prefer there not being a direct connection. But for the most part, I'm flexible on talking about myself :)
Bagginshield/Tolkien YES YES YES UGHHHH I adore all of that. I peeped your profile and saw some Gimli and Legolas I think which is also mi amor <3 Elsewise, I'm all over the place, but do post Supernatural, Good Omens, and Baldur's Gate (i've bought all the Dragon Ages and that's next on my list) with hyperfixations sorting as often as they can. (You can check out my AO3 to see some of my favorites [CBlue], or most often I try tagging fandoms if you need to block anything or want to hunt for something specific. (I'm also stumbling back into some Geraskier too on ocassion!)
I don't have OCs that I post here (they tend to be more on my professional one lol), and my art tag changed because tumblr ate the previous one I'd been using (sometimes its #my art and sometimes its #C Draws or #C Arts), so that's a bit everywhere and not often. I more often post my fandom writings [CBlue on AO3, which if I may pimp out a writing of mine, I wrote Compression, a Bagginshield fic (though, apologies as due to recent AI scalping all of my works are now locked to registered-users exclusively]. This is my everything blog, so everything goes here lol.
Oh my god please send me snippet ideas and prompts. That's one of my favorite ways of engage---spinning with people! That's why I LOVE participating in fandom! I get some of that outlet on a few of the (more intimate) fandom Discords that I'm in, but I'm always open to some of those from asks and such too!!
Pets: I have 6 cats, all of whom are rescues. To the point that the last three were actually rescued out of my wood pile from a storm that was going to hit last year. I don't post pictures of them (mostly to keep that fandom life separation like I mentioned), but I talk about them! People who know me probably also might remember my old man, Tucker, who was the loveliest of puppers. I had to say goodbye to him earlier this year (back in April, and it's just been...a time since then. I miss him often, but every memory is nothing but fondness.) They're all so lovely, and I love talking pets! (If, you know, six cats wasn't an indication ;))
I don't have a garden at the moment, but I do love talking about it!! Hobbies tend to be my fandom hobbies, but I'm also trying to get back into reading more often and I have a few crafts planned. And I love doing a gamer when I can in my free time.
I loved being tagged in things!! I don't always get to them because I am the toxic person (/j) who sees a notification and goes "I will respond when I'm able to," but when the notification is gone I forget all about it. Actually, you've just reminded me that I was tagged in a tag game that I wanted to do, so I'm going to go do that now lol!!
But yeah! I think that's everything and hope it's in any way that makes sense lol. I definitely appreciate you asking!!!

12 years of Tumblr - stats are fun?
I used this website to get some nice stats for my blog which turned 12 years old this month.
I have 94,009 notes on the 1,155 original posts combined.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Average notes per original post: 81.39 notes
My top 5 most popular posts:
this post with 17,472 notes from Sep 22 2013
this post with 3,784 notes from Jan 9 2016
this post with 3,466 notes from May 4 2014
this post with 2,851 notes from Nov 30 2014
this post with 2,376 notes from Apr 19 2015
My peak was definitely about 10 years ago😂🤷🏻‍♀️
Also, to further commemorate this anniversary, I wanted to share some additional thoughts.
I am not good at social media, I just lack the skills and conscious determination of content creators, I mostly post randomly and I put little to no effort into growing my follower base. I've never really tried to become "famous" here (ngl, when I was younger I envied the popular blogs a little), but generally speaking, I just really like to draw and I want to share it with people, maybe getting to know some new people, making new friends even. For me, Tumblr's main purpose is being a platform for fandom interactions. I love how Tumblr operates with a different logic than other social media sites, how you have actual control over your own experience as it is not run by algorithms.
That's why it makes me a little sad how "Tumblr Etiquette" is not respected nowdays. I've been here for 12 years, and I am very extroverted, I have no problem with new people using this website, really, the more the merrier. As I said above, I don't really care about notes and follower counts, and I am not easily discouraged by having only a few notes on the stuff that I post. If I would be, then I will definitely put more effort into what I draw and create only what received more notes. (E.g. the Lily red carpet look pic has 14 notes as of today, while the domestic wolfstar pic is over 300, yet I am sure that I will not exclusively draw wolfstar from now on.)
Case in point, what I wanted to actually talk about is the poor reblog-like ratio. It makes me sad because I desperately crave the interaction and a like goes completely unseen here. (I know that you can make your likes visible, but most people, me included, check their dashboards only, and will check likes of certain people only if they are specifically looking for something.) My main driver is not the exposure or recognition or whatever in itself I get on my drawings (it is certainly a nice bonus tho). I want to interact with people, and I can only do that if the stuff I post is seen by them, aka reblogged. On my main blog I almost only post my artwork (I've reblogged 158 posts only in the past 12 years), but I have a sideblog especially for reblogging purposes (which comes with the nice bonus of making my "likes" searchable, because the tagging system is truly a wonder).
Let me further explain what I mean by presenting the reblog-like ratio of 3 of my latest most popular posts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reblogs > Likes! Please! I want interactions! Share your thoughts! That's what this site is for!

Intro
Slug | He/They | 23 | Aspec
Hey, welcome to my stupid side blog that I treat as my main!
Here to talk about proship stuff and my other views on things, fandom-related or otherwise! I’m pretty open-minded about things, and I love a good discussion! I also post selfship shit too! Feel free to send asks and such about anything! I like talking, but usually not through DMs unfortunately. My method of interacting with people is reblogs and asks lol
I talk about topics that could trigger people, but I always try to provide a tw on the post's tags that discuss those things! I also try to tag things appropriately so people can avoid my posts! I frequently discuss nsfw as well, so if that makes you uncomfortable, then be aware! Feel free to block me if you would like, I really don’t mind if you don’t want to see my content!
Here's a link to my f/o list btw!
More under the cut! (It's very long :( lol)
Tags I Use Sometimes
slugs rambles (where all my bullshit goes)
Fandom tags, but only the main ones (fnv, homestuck, and gravity falls mostly)
Certain ship tags
Anything that’s a typical trigger is usually tagged with “tw” before the trigger (sometimes I forget, sorry)
If I don’t tw my tag, then it will have the trigger without the “tw” in front of it as the tag
Any general tag tbh
Things About Me
AuDHD
OSDD1b system (we speak in first person, we try not to use “we” unless discussing system things)
LGBTQ+ (aegosexual, biromantic, nb, trans masc)
Non human (alterhuman really)
Pro kink (even the scary ones! Pet play, abdl, ddlg/ddlb, and the like are all fine and cool as long as it’s with consenting adults!)
Para neutral (big three is NON CONTACT but I don’t care what gets you off if you aren’t hurting people lol)
Radinclus (not radqueer though)
Comship (but most of my ships are pretty basic lol)
Self ship (ask me about my f/os IF YOU DARE)
I hate the government (all of them)
Proship in the way I’m 100% anti censorship, but I personally don’t like certain types of fictional content and I’m against harassment if it purely involves opinions over fiction.
Fiction can affect reality, but fiction affects everyone differently. Fiction should never be taken at face value. Some people just lack critical thinking skills and they let fiction affect them in a way that dictates their real life morals, or the other way around :/
Fandoms I Like To Talk About Sometimes
Listed, top to bottom, from most to least relevant btw lol
Fallout (replaying New Vegas currently!)
Homestuck AND Beyond Canon
Hiveswap
Gravity Falls
Wimp Witch (check it out, the artist is cool!)
Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss
Smiling Friends
Pokémon
Undertale/Deltarune
Mlp
Fnaf
TF2
Undertale Yellow (play it, it’s good)
Steven Universe
The Binding of Isaac
South Park (not in the fandom, but used to be lol and I still enjoy it)
Invader Zim
I like a lot of things though, feel free to share your fandoms if ya want :D
Other Interests
No particular order
Paleontology (special interest)
Zoology
Speculative zoology/evolution/biology
The environment
Evolution as a whole
BUGS! (Arthropods really)
Kink and the psychology of sex/arousal
People I don’t really like
Not a dni, but serves a similar purpose of expressing who I don’t agree with. Not all of these people are disliked equally, some are disliked more than others. And I may not even dislike people in this category at all, as I may just be uncomfortable and that’s it. Y’all can interact all you want, but I won’t agree with you when it comes to certain things in this list lol. And I'm not opposed t blocking people either lol
Proana
Self harm community (is there a name for it? Idk)
Anti mogai/xeno gender/neo pronoun
LGBTQ+ exclusionist
Terf/radfem
Anti ace-spec
Nazi
Lolicon/shotacon
Pedophile/Map/nomap
Pro harassment
Endogenic systems (I’m a traumagenic system and it makes me uncomfortable. Just so we’re clear, I do believe if you know you are a system, then you are one though lol)
Transid/radqueer
Anti shippers (depends on how you personally define that term though lol)
Anti recovery
Zoophile
Incest/consang
Anti kink/sex negative
Pro contact para/supporter
Minors (/hj)
Anti recovery

My Boundaries🖤
Tumblr media
Hi, my loves! I mostly am making this for myself to link to my pinned oost and add a little bit more so I don't have to edit my pinned post constantly; I'm not so great at setting boundaries so I'm gonna try to work on changing that for my mental health^^ {psst this also isn't meant to come off as a call out post to anyone, I hope it doesn't come off as that I'm sorry I'm an ✨overthinker✨}~
♡ Minors, DO NOT follow/interact with this account! I make zero exceptions to this boundary as I am really not comfortable with minors following my content regardless of what I reblog or the fandoms I'm in, because I also dont really have filter. I'm sorry to be harsh, but I'm an adult and I don't want to filter what I post about on my blog. Plus I really hate it when minors try to purposely interact in adult spaces {seriously do not do this shit, you're putting yourself and others in danger}. Ignoring this boundary will warrant an immediate permanent block.
♡ Fanart is more than welcomed, no need to ask permission! I will treat that like the goddamn Mona Lisa and appreciate the fuck out of it. All I ask is to not feel obligated to do so and to please tag me🩷 I'll ask if I can post your art to my ToyHouse with credit {you have every right to decline if you're uncomfortable, I won't be upset and will respect your decision!} Lastly all I ask is please safe for work only and not sexualize my characters^^
♡ You can take heavy inspiration or heavily reference my art and my OCs for your own, however please don't outright repost my art or fics especially without permission. I would rather be asked first if you want to repost one of my drawings but please don't automatically assume I'll say yes otherwise I will ask the post to be removed. For commissions, you don't have to ask permission to repost, you can post to whatever platform you'd like!
♡ Don't remove/edit my signature and Ko-Fi watermark from my commissions please
♡ I don't roleplay and would prefer my OCs not be used in roleplay. I'm sorry!
♡ No shipping discourse of any kind. I don't care what you ship as long as it's legal, but I'm not here to engage with any discourse revolving around pairings of fictional characters. This account is not a safe space for people who support minor x adult ships, incest/stepcest, bestiality, or glorifying SA.
♡ Please don't ship my OCs with other characters besides the one they're paired with or other OCs {I only do this with my partner's characters}
♡ Idk if this is a problem on Tumblr but I cannot stress this enough please please please do not add me into random group chats especially without asking me first, I will just end up leaving without saying anything. I'm sorry to be rude, I have major social anxiety and the last time this happened was not a good experience that I don't want to relive.
♡ I'm okay with nicknames with mutuals except for babe/baby/anything that sounds flirty {I'm engaged and it makes me uncomfy 🫥}
♡Just because I simp for certain characters who are villains doesn't me I agree with their actions {Eren, Shiggy, sweeties, I'm looking at you two}. Truthfully, I love villains, I like fucked up and morally questionable characters, I think I can fix them {no I can't}, however I have limits yes but sometimes the crazies are where it's at~
♡ I do write about certain heavy topics as a means to cope with trauma I personally endured {ex. I write about alcohol abuse and the toll it can take on others}. This does not mean I condone what is in my writing, it's just telling a story that will be properly tagged.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Fanworks Event is going to last for one week in December (exact dates to come) where fans of TCM can come together to share their creations!
All kinds of works will be allowed! Fics of any length, art both digital and physical, moodboards, manips, edits, playlists and so on!
The only restrictions come down to content, and there aren’t many. I’m only asking that this event does not feature certain “dark” ships. These are things like adult x minor ships, family x family ships, or non-con ships. I will not curate that kind of thing on this blog because it is my preference.
Dark topics are allowed however, as long as everything is tagged properly! All that means is a simple tag warning about things like abuse, violence, or blood, etc. Victim x family ships are allowed as well of course, so long as it abides by the rules above! If you have any questions or would like to know if something is bending the rules, just shoot me a message! I will be happy to answer, through direct messages, the inbox, or the discord!
Speaking of, there is a discord server just for this event! I created it by myself so there may be some bugs, but I have a few channels already laid out with descriptions for what goes in them! I am very very easy going about discord servers though. Don’t worry about constantly messaging or following a format. Just have fun! The link will be at the bottom of this post!
Cause that’s my motto for the whole event! Have fun, and spread some love and creativity for our fandom!
When I say the fandom, this includes The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and it’s direct sequel, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Part Two (1986), as well as the new TCM game (2023) I genuinely apologize for limiting the films this event will explore, but I really don’t know the others that well, and so I would find it impossible to find, tag, and share content from those films.
That’s how the system will work. When a piece is finished and posted in December, use the hashtag #tcmfanevent and @ tag this blog so that I can find it! I will then reblog it according to which day or prompt and it correlates to!
Prompts will be loose! I have a list that I will post separately elaborating on them, so more details there will be coming out soon!
No sign ups required! If you’re interested but don’t want to dedicate, that’s totally fine! This is a low pressure, no obligation event just for fun. It’s okay if you can’t do it. The same goes for the amount of works. You don’t need to participate for the entire week. If you just want to plan one piece for that week, that’s fine too! The the dates mostly refer to the amount of time I’ll be taking submissions.
I am only one person, and I am disabled, so I will do my very best to answer all questions and run this smoothly, but I might make mistakes. Let’s just all be patient together and get ready to do something cool!!

Neil reblogged a post and I muse about fandom pipelines…
I woke up to absolute chaos on my lawn again—in excess of nearly 1,500 notes. Took me a hot sec, but this time I got fairly quickly that Neil reblogged one of my posts again (the last time it happened, I was much more confused). And while that’s always super fun (of all the posts, it had to be one with the #murphy and his cool hat-tag 🙈. Also: Thanks Neil for my shredded inbox—I was sleeping and couldn’t switch off notes. So if any of you are waiting on replies or anything, forget it right now, can’t find anything 🤣), it also made me reflect. You know me, I always have to turn everything into an essay, so here goes…
The post in question was a couple of days old and already sat in the 400 notes range before Neil hit the chaos button. I have posted some of Vince’s art before, most notably the sister piece to this one (which I personally think is a more accomplished work of art, but that’s personal taste). As you can tell, none of them have near as much engagement. No surprises there.
My blog is small, but not tiny (4 figure amount of followers). Pretty pictures always get engagement, but mostly when they’re Murphy or Death (I don’t post shipping content because despite ample shitposts, I created this blog with the goal of source material appreciation and deeper engagement with it). The odd one of Delirium or Desire breaks through, BUT…
I often read that people care about all the characters of the Sandman, even (!, ha) the female ones. My blog is mostly rooted in the comics with the odd journey into the show (you won’t find too much fan-content about the actors here), so I try to post about ALL the characters, even “obscure” ones, and tag accordingly. Of course I have my own preferences, and there’s obviously also much more art centring Morpheus than, say, Despair (which also supports the point I’ll try to make), but I make an effort to dig and/or write for it, be that art of Destiny or Lyta or a meta about Desire or Lucien/ne. And especially the writing can feel discouraging and somewhat self-perpetuating, because if you spend whatever time you have left in your day on creating content that no one is interested in because it’s not centred around one or two favourite characters (because they always get engagement on here, and I’m sometimes not sure if people even truly digest them—some of the tags/comments suggest they don’t), you simply reassess if you shouldn’t do something else with that time. Or you keep on writing about one favourite character because… you might as well.
But when something like this happens, I notice one thing: Most people so obviously don’t search the tags. They get their content from one or two (or a handful of) blogs and content curators. Neil is obviously different in the way a post takes off, but I also see this on a smaller scale regularly:
People say they care about Sandman characters other than Morpheus (and “the other one”), but hardly any posts about them (bar Death and *maybe* Delirium and even *more maybe* Desire) get any engagement off the bat. Often not even from people I know are fans. And of course we’re not all online 24/7 and things slip through, but these are visible trends, not just singular occurrences, when you run a blog like mine.
Because that content is right there, in the tags, if you only look for it.
If people checked the tags of the characters they supposedly care about, they would find them, even if the posts are not as plentiful. And every so often (read: hardly ever, but it has happened once or twice), one of the bigger shipping blogs will reblog a post about those characters. And guess what? Immediate engagement. Slay Queen! 🙄
But many, many people don’t look for them. They find them on their dash because they follow certain blogs and let them curate stuff for them. Fair enough, it’s at least partly how Tumblr works. But that’s also how the fandom pipeline works. And the fandom pipeline is biased.
Call me slow, but if people profess their love for all the characters and especially the women of the Sandman, why don’t they check their tags? Because if you run a blog with half-decent engagement like mine, it becomes so immediately obvious where the engagement comes from:
Posts about Murphy: Almost always directly via my blog AND reblogs. The former means through my followers and tags. And I can see that a decent amount comes through tags, because not everyone who reblogs from my blog follows me. So for Dream, people do check the tags (although: pictures always do better than metas, and thirst-trap pictures do a lot better than more artistic and abstract takes. Fics? Bwahaha, you’re joking. I don’t write Dre@mling, reader-inserts or smut, so no chance).
Posts about Death and Delirium: Yeah, maybe? Occasionally? Especially the “pretty” ones. Especially the ones that sideline them a bit and still centre Murphy in some way (and I understand how hard it is not to do that, because in the grand scheme of things, it is his arc we’re following. He is the central character, even if not in all storylines, and we don’t need to pretend he’s not and be angry about it either).
Posts about everyone else: Hahaha, nope. UNLESS a big (shipping) blog reposts them. Which hardly ever happens.
So is it really true that people care about the female characters (or any characters other than Morpheus and the one that shan’t be named) if they don’t even check their tags? If they only get their content from a handful of blogs that are so clearly biased towards two characters?
Don’t get me wrong, I have my favourites, too. And that’s totally okay. We’re all allowed to like what we like, it’s not about that. But we can’t be in denial about the fact that the majority (I’m not saying everyone) of fandom engages with The Sandman purely through a shipping lens, so I guess I personally just wish people would reflect more on how the fandom pipeline works. People are commonly told to create what they want to see etc. But what’s so totally obvious is that most people don’t even look for other characters via the tags. They let other people do the work for them. And if those blogs don’t post diversity apart from the odd token female character, guess what happens?
Long story short: I’m a big advocate for getting into the habit of checking the tags for more than just one or two characters (and I know some people do, so this is rather a general observation). And to check the tags regularly, even for the characters we like most if they are the more popular ones; it works the same for them, as reblogs by people like Neil always show. Because that post was already there for days, but the majority of people bar the first 300-400 did NOT find it through the tags.
Echo chambers are the death of different and critical opinions about anything. Even female characters; the fandom pipeline works for them, too. It’s just that far fewer people are interested outright, but the narrative in any fandom gets controlled by the most vocal blogs for any character.
And maybe that’s the former scientist in me speaking, but:
Bias is not the problem. We all have it. And as long as we’re aware of it, it’s okay. The problem starts when we let it work the pipeline until nothing else is left. And the easiest way to avoid that is not to rely on just a couple of favourite blogs for content.

Taking a break from social media. I'll be on Discord but I've been off this blog because I'm so tired of fandom. May make a private blog to only follow select people on. No offense if you don't end up in that group (if I even make the blog) because if I make the blog I won't be following many people at all. I need a safe space for myself where I can just reblog shit and not be seen in tags or like, anywhere.
I want to enjoy fandom content without all this pressure. I want a place to express my thoughts safely and to post shit safely, but also without having to see the names/urls of people who have wronged me or hurt anyone I know. I'm tired of these judgmental spaces and feeling like no matter where I go, I can't just have fun and relax.
I'm tired of fandom not being fun anymore, tired of the negative atmosphere around it, tired of the discourse, tired of fandom getting p/oliti/cized, and tired of people hurting others. Unfortunately Tumblr's blocking system is not as thorough as T/wit/ter's and I will continue to see people I hate no matter where I am on this site (it's not just this blog) and I can't truly have a private blog for only certain people to be able to see without it being a sideblog that requires a password, which is why I'm mostly taking a break.
Honestly, I don't even know if I'll ever fully come back. I'm that tired of it all. I might post here and there, but I'm pretty much cutting myself off from interacting with people with very few exceptions. I want to interact with people, but I'm at a point where I have no idea who I can trust regardless of fandom.
I don't know if that will change if I take a break, but it really might not. I'm sorry if you're interested in interacting with me and I'll still interact with my anons, but what I mean is that I'm no longer approaching people on my own, not putting myself into tags (with very few exceptions strictly on this blog), and I'm keeping to myself. I do appreciate all the anons I've had who have spoken with me and talked with me in depth about FE and stuff. This isn't an issue I have with you guys and you've made the time here more fun.
I can't live my life having my anxiety spiked at all times with how detrimental it is with me, and that's how I am on this site lately. Everything I post - everything - makes me afraid and anxious. Nothing is fun anymore and I already have actually detrimental low energy levels. I want to have creative energy and even that is mostly gone.
So... yeah. Taking a break and don't know where it's going from there. I'll check this blog once in a while (notes/anons mainly), I'm just not going to really do any scrolling so there won't really be any reblogging going on.

Please note: This section will be updated from time to time.
WARNING
If you’re following with the intention of:
Doing one liner threads with random sized gifs and NSFW/smutty/flirty.
Your only goal is to get me to write sexual themes with you right off the bat.
You just want to ship your character, canon or not, with Eddie/Venom.
You’re a person with low self esteem who starts drama for the sake of attention.
Then, please, don’t bother following nor interacting.
BASICS
This blog is semi-selective. Which means we don’t have to be mutuals in order to interact.
I don’t write with minors, so please don’t interact with me if you’re one. Don’t lie about your age either. Minors will be blocked.
I engage only with writers over 21.
Please, no god-modding.
I speak Spanish, English, and some Japanese. Writer is over 30 years old.
Been writing for over ten years, mostly on LiveJournal and Tumblr in the past. Meaning, I’ve been around long enough to know the drill.
This blog will contain at times mentions of NSFW topics and dark themes. Everything will be tagged accordingly if you wish to block certain topics.
THREADS
I do multi-para and novella mostly, sometimes it can get longer than that depending on how inspired I feel.
One liners are mostly reserved for memes/ask interactions.
I’m quite active but I tend to queue a lot of replies. Sometimes I hyper-focus on specific threads that have been previously and heavily plotted. This doesn’t mean I’m ignoring our thread.
Give me something to work with. This is incredibly important. If you invest a lot of time and internal monologue and give me no actions nor dialogue for my character to write with, it will be impossible for me to do anything about it, which will put all the weight on me to push the thread forward. I will drop the thread if this continues to happen after I’ve brought it up with you.
Please make sure you check out my verses before interacting. Depending which Eddie/Venom you interact with, they will react differently to various characters and situations. I will not accommodate Eddie/Venom's behaviors to please any characters either canon or original.
SEXUAL THEMES IN THREADS
Sex scenes are something I enjoy quite a lot when written properly, and I don’t shy away from kinks. However, let’s make sure we can plan ahead before jumping right into it.
I can be very picky with how sex scenes are written, so if at some point I let you know I’m not feeling it, please don’t take it to heart.
If you’re curious, this is my (the writer’s) kink list, to know what kind of things I like and dislike writing. Please note this kink list does not reflect the kinks of the character I write.
PLOTTING
Role-playing is a collaborative effort. I expect you to at least throw a basic idea of what would you like to do: that can be a prompt, a genre you’d like to explore or a trope, etc. I love discussing and plotting, and I’m constantly asking questions to better understand where you’d like to go with the plot as well as adding my own thoughts to it. Don’t take it to heart, the only reason I ask many questions is to make sure we’re on the same page.
I refuse to do all the work for the both of us, so keep in mind I won’t indulge into plotting by myself.
Know your facts. If you are writing a canon or original character, I expect you to know most if not everything about them. I can’t be doing research on them for you in order to be able to plot, and that also includes their background and trivia details that are relevant to their biography.
If there is something I need to know about your character, feel free to point me in the right direction. I do my best to go through most of the information offered on each writer’s blog, but please don’t expect me to jump through three or four links to know what their name is or which fandom they belong to. Please, make it easier and accessible for writers to get to know your muse through your links (this is mostly a suggestion).
Please, be open to feedback, as I am as well.
ORIGINAL CHARACTERS (OCs)
I will be very selective on which OCs I choose to interact with.
Know your character, your facts, their backgrounds, etc. If your character’s story has plotholes, keep in mind I won’t be fixing them but I will be pointing them out if they conflict with my character’s story or verse. Don’t take it personally, just remember you know your character better than I do, and I expect you to keep those things in mind before interacting.
I won’t accommodate my character’s background or verses to fit your OCs. Which means, whatever fact you have for your OCs (if they’re an OC from a specific fandom, in this case Marvel) won’t apply to my character, and they won’t automatically know or assume about it.
By under no circumstances I will interact with children-OCs of any Marvel character, especially those that were created specifically to be “Eddie's kid”. The same goes for any “Eddie's husband/wife” characters.
If the existence of your OC is to invalidate my character’s existence, we most likely aren’t a good fit.
UNFOLLOWS/BLOCKS
Don’t feel obligated to follow back.
If, for whatever reason, you no longer feel comfortable writing together, feel free to soft block. By no means you’re obligated to reach out but if you want to talk about it/tell me something, you can always reach out via DMs.
I will ignore you if it’s obvious you haven’t read my rules. It’s common courtesy.
I give people plenty of time to get back to me either via DMs or reply to our threads, but after a month of no reply/interaction I just tend to untrack the thread from my Thread Tracker and unfollow. No hard feelings, I just like to keep my dash clean.
Don’t confuse me with the character I write.
No, I am not here to fulfill your sexual fantasies nor I’m your boyfriend or your friend with benefits.
Don’t harass me.
If I unfollowed you, most of the time is to keep my dash organized, don’t take it to heart.
SHIPPING
I don’t ship automatically. Yes, even if you’re writing a canon love interest.
Don’t force ship your character with Eddie/Venom. I will just ignore you completely or troll you.
MISC
Yes, I do have a Discord. I like to keep everything on Tumblr messages but I tend to give my Discord out to people I trust/people I’ve been plotting plenty with here on Tumblr. Please, don’t force me to give my username to you.
I am very selective with those I main or affiliate with. Don’t push me to add you to that list.
I make my own graphics and icons. Don’t steal them, I will find out eventually and it will be embarrassing for you.
All done? Don’t know where to begin? Break the ice with a prompt!

Pinned Post Finally
Greetings! I go by many names including but not limited to;
-leech (short for leechrot) -pest (short for pestilence) -Hal (after my Dalek, Hal)
I don't post anything obscene/explicit but I might post/repost some more mature content and as such, I would rather anyone who is not 18+ to avoid interacting with this blog. You are welcome to follow one of my sideblogs though!
I'm 25 years old and am a multi-medium artist for 13 years now! I mostly do digital 2D and 3D art but I've experimented with so many mediums. My pronouns are they/them/theirs or xey/xem/xeirs. I'm agender, asexual, poly, and my romanticism is fuck if I know but you can fuck around and find out (and no matter what gender you are, it's gay - but I am thinking finromantic is the term that fits me best?).
I'm a sci-fi geek and love Doctor Who, Star Trek, Babylon 5, The Cat from Outer Space, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and more! I also love fantasy like The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. I am the proud owner/operator/builder for Daleks Hal and Ren!
I love 80s/analogue stuff (80s cars, 80s music (rock, pop, synth, etc), camcorders, VHS tapes, VCRs, CRT TVs, etc) and collecting props from Doctor Who and Star Trek.
Fun fact that I often forget people don't know.. I'm legally blind in my right eye! My vision is 20/150 in that eye and only surgery could potentially give me full vision back. Though, since I've lived with it my whole life and it doesn't really affect my day to day life so I don't plan to get surgery.
This blog is a multi-fandom/multi-subject one so if you're only interested in certain content I post, check out my list of blogs!
@rogisinspace - main blog, you are here @specificallystartrek - star trek blog @imadaleknotanengineer - dalek hal progress blog @galacticleechart - art blog
I'll add tags for my account once I figure out what I want to use/start applying them.

No, I am not here to fulfill your sexual fantasies nor I'm your boyfriend or your friend with benefits.
Don't harass me.
If I unfollowed you, most of the time is to keep my dash organized, don't take it to heart.
SHIPPING
I don't ship automatically. Yes, even if you're writing Steve Rogers.
A lot of WinterWidow fans ask me this all the time: Do I ship it? Not particularly. Am I open to the idea of them being more than friends? Yes, if plotted correctly. Does my Bucky know Natasha as their former lover/friend? No, I base off my Bucky on MCU and I've added a few bits and pieces from 616. WinterWidow is not one of those bits.
Don't force ship your character with Bucky. I will just ignore you completely or troll you.
MISC
Yes, I do have a Discord. I like to keep everything on Tumblr messages but I tend to give my Discord out to people I trust/people I've been plotting plenty with here on Tumblr. Please, don't force me to give my username to you.
I am very selective with those I main or affiliate with. Don't push me to add you to that list.
I make my own graphics and icons. Don't steal them, I will find out eventually and it will be embarrassing for you.
All done? Don't know where to begin? Break the ice with a prompt!

Here’s my Masterpost I guess…?
Hello hello! Here’s my currently unofficial master-post! My name is Clover, (she/they ig 😕) and this is my main blog where I reblog a bunch of stuff I like! It’s all mostly Wander Over Yonder and Rise of the TMNT, so if you’re not interested I suggest you keep on scrolling. However, if I take a liking to something that doesn’t require it’s own blog, I’ll reblog that as well.
This masterpost is currently made for understanding my boundaries and for organization purposes. I’ll likely update it whenever any of these things change or whenever I wanna add some more 🌟Personality🌟 to the post. Please respect these following guidelines:
Please don’t message me. It’s very very likely I will never respond or I’ll get too attached or something. I’d like for the messages to only be between moots or people I know irl. Speaking of which…
Do not send me an ask questioning me about anything personal. There isn’t really much special about me in real life, especially considering I’m on Tumblr, and besides. This is literally the internet. Things such as my name, age, where I live, who I live with, who I know, etc. All of that is off limits. Please do not expect me to reveal anything of the sort.
This is also not really a “Family friendly” blog. Swear/curse words are very much allowed, but my language is not very “Colourful.” Always refrain from using any swear words that are offensive against a certain group/minority or any slur within that range. If you don’t know what I mean, don’t ask.
In this same vein of thought, I need to mention I AM A MINOR. Anything nsfw is strictly prohibited. I do hope this doesn’t need to be elaborated on any further.
On a more positive note, my asks are open to anyone! It doesn’t matter what fandom you’re in, I’ll be willing to answer anything from Undertale to TGAMM! Obviously though, I will not tolerate anything rude or uncomfortable, and of course there will be no bots in my asks. (Hopefully)
As for organization, everything is split up into multiple different tags for convenience. WOY stuff, however, is for now stuck under one single tag, as this blog started as just an ROTTMNT blog and all the other tags are related to that instead. You can go around and look for what you want by searching each tag in the searching bar at the top of my blog.
My tags are actually pretty unique to this blog! Here’s an example or two: The tag “ew” refers to the ROTTMNT comic called “Emperion Weeping,” and the tag “swanny boi” refers to another Rise comic called “Swanatello.” Idk if that’s the comic’s official name but that’s the one I remember.
I do this for originality purposes and so that it can just fit my blog’s personal style. It’s relatively the same for my other side blogs as well!
Speaking of which, here are all my active blogs! (Not including this one cuz ur on it right now)
Lego Monkie Kid blog: www.tumblr.com/justmeclover
Sonic the Hedgehog blog: www.tumblr.com/my-name-is-jefferooni
Undertale/Underverse blog: www.tumblr.com/i-just-do-reblogs
These are all side blogs and this is my main, so there may be some days where I’m silent on those while others I’ll just be hammering out reblogs! Check em out if you want!
By the way, I’m working on an ROTTMNT fan comic myself for my “New Home AU!” It’s currently unfinished and I have no idea when I’ll get the courage to post any pages, but any asks about the AU are very VERY much appreciated! I’ll be very happy to respond to anything that doesn’t delve too much into the story… Just the basics.
To follow up on this, yes I do draw and I am willing to share my art with you. It will be a while before that happens though since I currently do not have access to a laptop, so posting my art will be more difficult.
And as a final guideline, no, I am not on any other social media platform and hopefully I never will be. My goal is to stay out of as much internet conflict as possible, so do not request for me to get like a Twitter or a Wattpad.
Thank you all so much for reading this far! Hopefully in the future this masterpost will be way shorter than it is right now. I’m still kinda new to all this posting shit right now, so. Yeah. I really appreciate how far you’ve made it.
Hope you can also continue to enjoy this blog! Have a good day/night!
