pac doxxing goose gang's egg in the last second

shelby shubble as the last member of her team online writing a letter to aimsey and sharing the world's most devastating ten minutes before her team was eliminated with one of the eye creatures (coco? i forgot lol)

badboyhalo absolutely fucking DEMOLISHING the battleship event on like 2 hours of sleep and a dream

wuant(?) stealing a tv from the battleship event and then playing portuguese ice age on it for the crows lmfao

tubbo djing for his team while waiting for the time for a goose gambit

theguill CRASHING THROUGH THE FUCKING CEILING of the raccoon team's hidey hole like the fucking kool aid man in a last effort to save his team and 4v1 or 5v1 ing team raccoon; he lost but that was such an epic fucking moment

theguill and etoiles pvping and each hyping the other's skills the entire time

i would like to say my ideal PJO adaptation (if i was being physically forced against my will to have to pick a live action adaptation over an animated one for some reason) would be a combo like writing of the musical + casting of the show + visuals of the movies

BUT the show actually does have the playwright for the musical as one of the major writers for like three episodes and that did nothing for it. so...

thinking about yassen gregorovich instead of sleeping (because i love him) and how he is a catalyst. yassen stabbs ash -> ash kills john rider -> ian rider raises alex -> yassen kills ian rider -> mi6 blackmails alex into becoming a teenage spy.

i have so many thoughts that i can't properly articulate. obviously this is a simplified chain of events, but yassen and his choices set off a chain reaction of the world's most unfortunate dominos. especially when you read russian roulette. to be clear im not necessarily trying to blame him for everything because that feels very mean. he was also just a 14 year old kid when everything in his life went wrong, just like alex. only difference being yassen literally had no one.

i think i should write an essay about this because i haven't even gotten into my thoughts about what yassen and alex's dynamic would look like past eagle strike. i would imagine it'd be similar to ellie and joel from the last of us part 2.

where obviously yassen loves alex and alex on some level cares for yassen back but struggles to reconcile that with the fact that yassen is responsible for his uncle's death. a very unforgivable act. it would be so messy and complicated and angsty, because on one hand here is an adult who truly cares about him and has a connection with him through his father. yassen could tell alex about john, and trust that yassen truly wants whats best for him. but he killed ian, and he cannot take that back.

while alex reels from those feelings, yassen is also trying to reconcile his love of alex with the knowledge that he on some level is responsible for the suffering alex endured at the hands of mi6. and possibly even the fact that alex's godfather is the one who killed john and helen.

After rewatching the Thanks For Watching trilogy, I actually have to double down on my controversial opinion: Hunter never having to directly face off against Belos again after Thanks to Them is actually super satisfying and cathartic in an understated, underrated way. He said everything he needed to say after the worst thing that Belos ever did to him, and from then on, he didn't know it yet but he was free. I'm so happy for him.

God I wish it was a fandom injoke.

In 2018, in Batman #55, Dick survived being shot in the head by D-List assassin supervillain KGBeast. Reportedly, Batman writer Tom King wanted him to recover in the pages of Batman so as to not interfere with the ongoing arc of Nightwing's solo title, but editorial insisted that it carry over. I might suggest that if you care about a character's arc in their title comic, having them get shot in the head in a different character's solo is a bad idea either way, but that's beside the point.

Anyway, ahead of this comic coming out, the writer of Nightwing, Benjamin Percy, suddenly announced he would be leaving with Nightwing #50 and notably didn't specify who would be taking over. Once the comic came out and Dick got shot in the head, it became clear that he had developed amnesia from the wound, and the arc of the Nightwing run would be based on that, as written by Scott Lobdell, famous for writing sketchy sexually charged storylines and misogynistic characterizations, as well as real life sexual harassment. Lobdell's arc ended up not only being as bad as everything I've just said, but also worse.

Lobdell quickly established that Dick Grayson had had a complete personality overwrite and was calling himself Ric Grayson for some fucking reason. He was now afraid of heights (hence my referencing the arc on that post) and inexplicably homeless. He stopped being a superhero, became a cab driver, and started squatting in people's houses. Also, the gunshot left a really dumb unsubtle scar shaped like the Nightwing symbol on his head.

He was a smarmy jackass, he constantly rebuffed the rest of the batfamily's attempts to help him as though the whole deal were a life choice instead of complications from a gunshot wound, he got a new girlfriend in a weird bad love triangle with Barbara, and also Scott Lobdell decided that instead of the 3 issues editorial wanted it should be extended indefinitely, asserting that it would be as important as Barbara Gordon as Oracle. He ended up getting 8 issues. Also, while this was going on, a group of cops found his old costumes and decided to be the new Nightwings. Because cops circumventing the law is good!

This arc also ruined several other ongoing titles, including robbing Titans of its narrative momentum (I really liked that comic too), and permanently marring Alfred's funeral in Detective Comics with lots of "I don't know Dick but if he were here he'd say..."

I know M/agnus A/rchives is not as popular nowadays, unfortunately I wasn't active back when it was at it's height~ but I've been quite into it for about a year now, and recently had another surge, sooooo!
