Rereading Stormbreaker one chapter at a time, and I love how in the very first chapter, we get proof of Ian caring about Alex's safety:
“Doesn't that seem strange to you? You know how careful he was. He always wore his seat-belt. He wouldn’t even drive me round the corner without making me put mine on.”
He may not have been a very openly sentimental man, but he cared about Alex 🥺
#one of my favourite moments of this is in skeleton key when alex has to solo dive#he remembers ian teaching him about diving and states how ian would be “speechless with anger and disbelief” if he was there#because of how much danger alex was putting himself in#alex rider#ian rider
