ARC Trooper Fives x F!Reader Word Count: 351 Warnings: Angst. A/N: Just a sad Fives mini fic whilst I practice aspects of my writing :(

She couldn't keep doing this.

Each scar, each wound, each struggling breath and each death, she felt her resolve growing weaker.

What if he was truly, really dead? It would be easier to know, she hoped, than to keep living like this. But what if Rex was right? He wasn't mad, not yet, so what if he was right?

She already lost Fives. She had come to terms with his death. Her duty allowed her to push away those feelings of sorrow, to supress those lonely nights. Her throat itched at the memory, the day she lost everything, the day her world fell apart, the day he died. She had come to terms with it.

And now? Knowing Echo, her dearest Echo, could be alive, she felt nothing but strangling, nauseating pain. It felt like she was underwater, losing precious air every moment longer that it took to hear back from Rex.

Fives had always wished he could have done more to save Echo. He prioritised his brothers happinness over anything and everything.

He had come to her, silent tears cascading down his cheek. He allowed her to embrace him, to let her hear him cry, to let her heal his shattered soul. She was the reason Fives hadn't deserted yet.

But how she wished he did now. She would have followed him to the deepest, darkest corners of the galaxy.

Every morning she woke up, her hand feeling his side of the bed. She'd forget he was gone, and wake up confused, and then reality would hit. He was gone, and he wasn't coming back.

A couple tears shed here and there, before she'd swallow a forming lump, and get on with her day.

She'd heal the injured, aid the recovering, eat, shower, watch some holofilms and go to sleep.

She dreamt of him nearly every night, but it felt more like she was relieving precious memories. Her and Fives cuddled up on her old couch, watching her favourite holofilms together. Her and Fives cooking dinner, his arms caging her against the counter as he'd steal a fleeting kiss, a fleeting promise of a better tomorrow.

And then, she'd wake up. Feel his side of the bed, wake up and hear the faint pitter patter of the shower, and then she'd remember.

Maybe she's going crazy. Maybe Rex never even mentioned the chance of Echo being alive. Maybe she was crazy.

Fives and Echo Parallel

So I was just thinking after Fives lost Echo, Tup came into the picture and they became close buddies, but then Tup died. When Echo was rescued he learned that Fives was gone, but then enter the Bad Batch and it seems like him and Tech grew pretty close, but now Tech's dead. And this made me sad.

Don't get me started on Echo and Azi working together just like Fives and Azi. 😭

If a fae creature offered to give one million dollars for a bone FROM YOUR BODY chosen at random, how many bones would you allow them to take?

Light clarifications; The fae is not the one choosing the bones. The bone is taken at random. Each bone, no matter the size or importance, is worth a full million dollars. You must also declare the exact number first, you can't go bone-by-bone. You either say 2 or you say 10, you can't work your way up to a higher number. The bones are removed instantaneously, and the money is given immediately as well. You will not get in government trouble for acquiring the money.

Tell me in the tags/replies how many bones you'd let the fae take. And as always, reblog for bigger sample size.

and what if i said I cried because oh whoops I heavily relate to Hunter (oldest of five kids amongst other things) and I see Fives as an older brother type for myself because I just want to have an older brother figure in my life so I can have a chance in that "younger sibling" role and just,, yeah

Okay, so Fives would have definitely loved the Bad Batch, but I want to go into deeper detail (under the cut)

Hunter

Okay so I feel like he would absolutely love Hunter, but would also butt heads with him a lot, since I feel like they’re very similar in some ways. Fives kind of sees Hunter as a younger version of himself, so he would take him under his wing to guide and teach him. Hunter would probably find this weird at first, since he’s used to being the oldest and not being the one who is looked after, but eventually he enjoys it. Fives is someone who Hunter can step into the younger brother role with, like with Echo and Cody, and just be silly and relax for a bit (and be the little shit we all know he can be).

Wrecker

Fives loves him. He reminds him of Hevy and Hardcase, but is also uniquely Wrecker. Fives thinks he is just the sweetest guy and is surprised by how much he allows himself to open up to Wrecker. Actively encourages Wrecker’s shenanigans because Echo he’s right we don’t know what will happen if we blow up this pie we need to see!

Tech

He sees Tech as a younger version of Echo, and because of this holds him very dearly. He wonders if this is what it would have been like if Echo had been the younger twin rather than himself. Gets Tech to come out of his shell a bit, like how he does with Echo, and is often surprised and impressed by just how much of a MENACE Tech can be when he wants to be silly, which is also similar to Echo.

Crosshair

This was actually kind of hard for me to think of. I feel like since Fives and Hunter are so similar, there would definitely be some respect from Crosshair on that front, but it’s also kind of weird for Crosshair. I feel like Fives would actually be able to help him through his low moods, and Crosshair would let him after a while, since he’s so much like Hunter but also like Echo. Fives also would probably be like how a lot of fan works interpret and portray his relationship with Tup, where basically he’s like “if not little brother, why little brother shaped?” Is already protective of the batch, since they’re all younger, but he’s probably more protective of Crosshair since he’s the youngest. This drives Crosshair crazy because now there’s THREE of them!

Omega

Absolutely adores her, not only because it’s Omega and she’s just the sweetest sunshine child, but also because she is an absolute MENACE. She is the craziest, most badass kid he’s ever met and he hyped her up SO MUCH (much to the horror of Echo, Crosshair, and Hunter).

Death

CT-5555 ARC Trooper Fives:

Death symbolizes a permanent and absolute change that will likely be painful but is necessary for a new beginning.

Okay, I know this may seem a little…cruel but I have a reason! The Death card signifies an absolute change that leads to a new beginning and while that can refer to Fives’ heartbreaking death, I think it also speaks to what his death led to. Going into the Clone Wars, we already knew how it would end but I feel like Fives’ death was the destruction of the last bit of hope the clones unknowingly had to save themselves. If he would’ve lived, there could’ve been a chance to save his brothers from their fate but the information died along with him, leading to the beginning of the journey Rex will eventually take to continue what Fives was trying to do.

-also wait how the fuck did she get that stuff in her anyway? How did the dimaldo get to earth after it caused the end of Reginald's home planet? Like,,,shouldnt we know that?
