im gonna start posting fanfic recs btw whenever i find good ones. both here and my (awfully barren) 18+ account. because there are so many good fics out there with so few hits and fewer kudos and sometimes no comments period and it SUCKS because i REALLY LIKE THEM A LOT.. and i hope that by linking them here and yelling at everyone to COMMENT DAMMIT they might actually do it

seriously though any comment means a lot. most people who read a fic don’t even give a kudos. even if the fic wasn’t top tier, if you didn’t dislike it, hand over some kudos!! and if you liked it, comment!!!! even if the comment is one singular heart emoji it will be appreciated. if the comment just says “great fic!” the author will be happy. your comment doesn’t have to be this long winded gushing or analysis.

so many authors quit writing or lose motivation because the comments are few and far in between or just sometimes nonexistent. trust me when i say authors don’t care about how long or cool or smart sounding your comment is i promise!!!

i hope that mmmaybe recommending fics and telling people to comment might help fics i really like get more support maybe. and i, points at you reading this, hope that you will listen!!!at least a little….at least sum kudos….

#if u have the ability to reply to my reblog saying how much you loved the fic i recommended comment on the fic itself so the author can see!#especially since the rise of ai writing and seeing ai fics out there can be disheartening #make sure you let your writers know you appreciate them #you never know they might one day write a sequel bc your comment touched them #or might get the motivation to make more works.#(but don’t just comment bc you expect something out of it btw. sometimes the author might be too intimidated to reply ive seen that before)#im a huge yapper. if you can’t tell. lmfao.#and i mostly comment on guest. like 99% of the time because the fics are either really embarrassing #or i get nervous about them knowing me/finding my tumblr and thinking im cringw #bc i admire authors so much. and I get that nervousness! given I experience it!!! but guest mode EXISTS!!! most work allows you to comment #on guest mode!! the author CANT see the email you use for it!!! the only reason they even ask is to give you notifs if theres a reply to it!#a comment is still a comment even if on guest or an alt or your main #even if the fic is embarrassing shameful depraved smut you can log out and comment on guest. even if it’s embarrassing #because the author still worked HARD. it’s so hard to write. people don’t give enough credit to fic authors who do it for free #i had an account (now super abandoned) that had over 400k words. and that didn’t include wips #i reallg do struggle to write because i took a break for so long!!! i can write but not nearly as much as I used to!!! and it sucks!!!#support your authors guys. 1k words is an hour for the first draft at MINIMUM and another hour for revision and editing. and people get #pissy if a fic chapter is less than 3-4k words for some reason. that’s 6-8 hours of work at MINIMUM. likely so much more because there’s #also plotting and brainstorming and So. Much. i feel like im not making any sense but does anyone else feel like there are stories that let u run with them and ones that spell everything out for you

#im reading that post that says artists are directors of audience reaction and not its dictator:#'you cannot guarantee that everyone viewing your work will react as you are trying t make them react. a good artist knows that this is what #allows work to breath. by definition you cannot have art where the viewer brings nothing to the table ... this is why you have to let go of #the urge to plainly state in text exactly how you think the work should be interpreted ... its better to be misinterpreted sometimes than #to talk down to your audience. you wont even gain any control that way; people will still develop their opinions no matter what you do #im thinking abt this again cuz i was thinking maybe the thing that lets adventure time work so well the way it does is cuz it doesnt #take itself too seriously that it gives the audience enough room to fuck with subtext and then fuck with them back yknow. i think it was #mentioned somewhere that they werent even planning to run with the postapocalyptic elements that are hinted in the show but changed their #mind after the one off with the frozen businessmen and dominoed into marcy and simons backstory. on the other side there are stories that #explain too much to let the story speak for itself and i think it ends up having to do more with the crew trying to lead ppl in a certain #direction than expand on what they have and i see a lot of this with miraculous. like when interviews and tweets are used as word of god in #arguments and it becomes a little stifling to play around with it knowing the creator can just interject. u can say its the crews effort to #engage with its audience but it feels more like micromanaging. and none of this is to say there ISNT room for stories that spell things out #theyre just suited for different things. if sesame street tried abstract approaches to themes and nuance itd be counterproductive #a lot of things fly over my head so i need help picking things apart to get it- but it doesnt have to be from the story itself. ive picked #picked up or built on my own interpretations listening to other ppl share their thoughts which creates conversation around the same thing #sometimes stories will spell things out for you without being so obvious abt it that it feels like its woven into the text. my fav example #for this might be ATLA using younger characters as its main cast but instead of feeling like its dumbed down for kids to understand why war #is bad its framed from a childs point of view so younger audiences can pick up on it by relating to the characters. maybe an 8 year old #wont get how geopolitics works but at least they get 'hey the world is a little more complicated than everyone vs. fire nation'. same for #steven universe bc its like theyre trying to describe and put feelings into words that kids might not have so they have smth to start with #especially with the metaphors around relationships bc even if it looks unfamiliar as a kid now maybe the hope is for it to be smth you can #look back to. thats why it feels like these shows grew up with me.. instead of saving difficult topics for 'when im ready for it'#as if its preparing me for high school it gave me smth to turn in my hands and revisit again and again as i grow. stories that never #treated u as dumb all along. just someone who could learn and come back to it as many times as u need to. i loved SU for the longest time #but i felt guilty for enjoying it hearing the way ppl bash it. bc i was a kid and thought other ppl understood it better than me and made #feel bad for leaning into the message of paying forward kindness and not questioning why steven didnt punish the diamonds or hold them #accountable. but im rewatching it now and going oh. i still love this show and what it was trying to teach me #yapping #diary

as someone who has nothing more than a basic high-school understanding of physics, this is how I see all the physics stuff going on in the recent bsd chapters.

(AGAIN I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ACTUAL PHYSICS THIS IS JUST WHAT'S MADE SENSE TO ME DON'T KILL ME)

(I only make this diagram because I feel like it makes sense to me but now I'm starting to doubt that I actually understand it and just think that I know what's going on. so I've made an explanation so that hopefully if I am wrong, someone can tell me)

one more note as well: the terms "infinite/infinity" and "fourth dimension" are used loosely here. I know that this is likely inaccurate, but it's just a simple generalization of how I can see it.

So there's the main 3D universe which is (obviously) length, width, and depth expanding outward infinitely in all three of those directions(condensed into a cube to model it)

It's impossible to really see the 4th dimension. The best way I can understand how I see it is by lining up these 3D planes/universe onto this plane behind it.

The "4D" plane drawn here(I know it really isn't but again just for visualization/having something to see it as) doesn't have width/height/depth, it is just there. It represents time. It could even be drawn as just a line, or lines between 3D planes.

And that plane being time, you can line up the 3D planes on it like animation keyframes. (-2 sec, -1 sec, present, 1 sec, 2 sec, etc, etc.)

And also something of note, each 3D plane isn't just one second of time here. Because really, there are measurements of time smaller than a second but I am not writing all that out. Best way I can still explain it is animation keyframes.

And if you rotate this and expand it outwards a bit:

Each section represents each interval of time(or keyframe) of the 3 dimensional space, and each section is each keyframe's space(length/width/depth) in its ENTIRETY.

This plane expands through every second/frame of the third dimension. Negative infinity, present, and positive infinity.

And in perspective of recent events:

and now add Fyodor's whole "drawing on a piece of paper with two hands" thing.

Each dot represents where Gozen(A four dimensional being) has been placed onto the timeline.

If the model was drawn to go farther backwards, it would show where Gozen was placed in the timeline to kill off Kunikida, Kenji, and Tanizaki, with the dots having line segments after them that extended until Gozen was no longer in that space of time.

When a four dimensional being attacks a third dimensional one(or goes into a 3D space), it can go in through any (x, y, z) coordinate on the "keyframe" it chooses to attack or go in from.

And put more into perspective with said events:

(gozen attacking third dimensional beings)

(gozen staying in the 3D space-time)

(both visualized)

(red dot(w/ line, no black center) is gozen, purple is fyodor, pink is atsushi, orange is akutagawa, yellow is fukuzawa.)

This ask was pretty upsetting to get for many reasons, but I won’t get too into it because I don’t want to be rude and I’m afraid I may not be able to say what I want to without it coming across that way.

my question is this - i am a fanauthor. on the side i also write my own original fiction but i specialize in fanfic. Am I allowed to use your poetry for a reference folder? I wouldn't use your poetry in a fic without explicit permission and without linking back here of course, and I'd never use it for commercial work outside of maybe taking inspiration without copying, but I wanna have a ref folder of Things That Made Me Feel Things about a character. It's not planned to be public as of yet, it's just supposed to be a bunch of screenshots in my drafts, but I'd like to maybe one day make it public once the fic was complete. actually On Your Feet gave us two good things (well. three if you like Realize which I do). Kohane's "it's frustrating" line and the great crack fic idea of Vivid Bad Squad getting cancelled online for skipping school to yell at The Kotaki Taiga as he was about to go back to America.

Kinda thinking about whether I should post some of my art on here should I find the time to draw again ... on one hand I think it'd be nice to share it, but on the other hand I'm worried that somehow, people who know me from my regular account will stumble across this one and recognise my art style, and I'll be called out/cancelled because they probably won't understand this community🤐
