It was announced yesterday that LittleBigPlanet 3’s game servers would be closing indefinitely, putting an end to the remaining online support the original LBP trilogy still had. I’ve managed to collect my thoughts and pay my tributes to the series before I part ways with it.
This game series means the world to me, and I am extremely proud and honored to have been apart of it’s community. I started playing the games in 2010 with the demo for LittleBigPlanet on PS3 and… I wasn’t impressed. I got stuck before I even played the game! I had a second controller turned on somewhere so 6 y/o me was presented with the “Select Profile” screen.
Having no clue why none of the buttons on my controller were working, I think I just turned it off and didn’t play it for months. Idk what got me to play it again, but I’m glad I did because I fell in LOVE with the game. Everything about how it controlled just… clicked with me. I thought it was genius, the sheer amount of expressiveness you could display; tilting the controller to move your head or your hips, using the D-Pad to change your facial expression, moving each individual arm with both sticks and the limb buttons on the back, it was all so intuitive and fun to do. Although, once me and my cousin learned how to slap each other in-game, it was over for my parents’ ears lol, we’d be screaming and yelling at each other. Sure enough that Christmas, I got the full game, specifically the special kind with some of the DLC pre-installed. That’s where the REAL fun began. Nearly every night after school I’d bring a couple of friends over and we’d try to play through as many levels as we could in one-sitting. The Metal Gear Solid DLC levels I often died immediately in and I would wait for an older kid I knew to get to a checkpoint and revive me. Regardless of how bad I was at the game, it was so much fun, especially now that we were able to experience the create mode. My mom actually started playing it, too. I don’t have any pictures of it sadly but she made a really expansive house with separate rooms and secret passages everywhere, it was really cool. I’d say I spent a good year or so playing the first game, then Christmas 2011 arrived. That’s when I got LittleBigPlanet 2.
LBP2 is my favorite video game of all time, it does what every good sequel should do: expand on what made the first game so amazing without straying too far away from its core appeal. For starters, if you already owned LBP the game will ask you right off the bat if you wish to import all of your collected items, costumes, and levels into LBP2. This absolutely BLEW MY MIND and in a weird way it kind of made playing the first game obsolete. You mean to tell me EVERYTHING I’ve ever made is already here, I can just… continue working on it?! I can still rock the same costumes I had, I can play music from the FIRST game in the SECOND game?!?! That alone made LBP2 so much of a gem in my eyes, it was LITERALLY the first game and MORE. But the fun didn’t end there! It was around this time I got a PSN account, so I was able to experience everyone else’s creations online and… wow. A whole new world just opened up, a whole community to engage and interact with. I met so many amazing people, some of whom are my closest friends to this day, over a decade later. It was through a group of some older kids that I often tagged along with that started getting into anime and comics more. 2011-2014 was a magical time to be on LBP, those years really felt like “The Golden Years” of the online community. Oh yeah and LBP Karting and the portable games existed too, I guess. I played LBPK, I thought it was fun… I still own it, but I’ve barely touched it after all these years. From what I’ve heard PSP and Vita seemed like a lot of fun, I’ve just never played them. Around early-mid 2014, it was announced that there would be a third LBP game for both the PS3 and the newly-released PS4. New characters, 16-LAYERS in create-mode (!!!), and a weird purple lightbulb as the new main-antagonist of the story mode… “Newton”. I remember being so excited for it to release. We were FINALLY getting a THIRD LittleBigPlanet, for a new console, too! We sure did, alright.
To this day, I’m still not sure how to feel about LittleBigPlanet 3, and it feels like the greater community more or less can’t ether. This game… SHOULD be better than the 2nd game, and you know what? Catch me on a good day and I might say that I prefer LBP3 to LBP2. Everything’s there, a new story, cross-compatibility with LBP and LBP2, a fleshed-out create mode, all of it’s there and what we have in the game is phenomenal, however there’s one big, glaring issue that distracts it from being superior to its predecessors… this game is BROKEN. I know people like to throw out that term a lot with somewhat buggy games but oh my god, LBP3 is DANGEROUSLY glitchy and exploitative. By this point, Media Molecule had moved on from the LBP series to continue developing new games, leaving Sumo Digital to oversee LBP3’s development. I feel so bad for Sumo Digital because it’s painfully obvious Sony rushed their time to complete the game for a holiday 2014 release date… and the quality of the final game reflects the time-crunch they must’ve gone through. Joining friends can take you up to a half-hour if you’re unlucky, it’s a gamble if the game will even function properly. Often you’ll be sent back to your pod after the game rapid-fires it’s loading screen (btw serious warning for anyone with epilepsy: DON’T play LittleBigPlanet 3, it does stuff like this all the time), but when the screen fades in, Sackboy doesn’t respawn, soft-locking the game. Fun! I’m not sure if anyone else suffered from this one specific, GAME-BREAKING bug as I’ve never seen anyone else talk about it, but around 2015 or so my game’s gravity just… freaked out, regardless if you were in hover-mode or not, Sackboy would float off to the left of the screen and phase through all of the walls. I tried restarting the game, cleaning off the physical disc the sink, but nothing would fix it, I literally had to reset my game progress. Very fun! Another weird thing I ran into is the inability to place down stickers with the PS Eye Camera Tool. It just stopped working entirely at one point, even in previous games like LBP2. No idea how THAT happened, very strange bug. Despite all this… I powered through, because truthfully I do think the content in LBP3 is superior to the previous games. The music is great, I found myself genuinely invested in the story and it’s characters, the DLC packs introduced in LBP3 were all very fun, and the create mode is a GODSEND compared to the first 2 games. Honestly, that’s one of the 2 reasons why I chose to stick around with LBP3, there is SO MUCH you can do with the tools it provides you. For those of you who don’t know, for the last couple years or so I’ve been building full working models of the Thomas the Tank Engine characters in LBP3, and that’s led to me gaining a humble but amazingly awesome following in the game. I love Thomas, I love LBP, I just wanted to put those two interests together and I’m very happy people seemed to have liked what I made, which is very wholesome and sweet.
I am devastated that the game’s online services are now gone for good, but it was kind of inevitable. LBP3’s lack of quality opened the door for a lot of nasty exploitation and modifications people made to their games. The servers were hacked in 2021, and that led to the termination of the PS3’s servers. It wasn’t hard to deduce that PS4’s servers were running on borrowed-time. Regardless of how unfortunate it’s closure was, this franchise was supported for 16 years. That’s not a bad run at all. I would say I’m surprised it wasn’t closed sooner, but then again… I’m not surprised. The LittleBigPlanet community is so amazing and passionate over these games. When the 2021 server attacks happened we all rallied together online to keep it alive, if just for a little bit longer. Even at its very end, a lot of us had so much more creativity to share with the world. To all those out there listening, I hope you’re able to channel that creativity outlet even further beyond in the future, whenever and wherever that may be. As for me, I’m going to attempt to learn “Dreams”, Media Molecule’s spiritual successor to the LBP games, released on PS4/PS5. From what I’ve seen and played of that game, it scratches that itch LBP left on me. It’s so good.
Rest easy, Sackboy. Thank you for some of the best experiences I could have asked for in a video game. Here’s hoping for a LBP4 one day, old friend. 🌎

To me, Kimi ni todoke is a perfect story
What can I say now that I have finished season 3? The season 3 we didn't even know we would be getting? Well, I used to tell friends that I am happy with whatever comes, but now im greedy and I want it all. I am very Kazehaya about new KnT seasons, I guess.
Anyway, I have been browsing the tag a little to find gifs and reactions and such, and I already see discussions (not much tbh but still) about how this and that in the story should be different and while the anime did skip things (Rip to "you are mine now" Nakamura-san would have sounded SO GOOD!), people are satisfiedI think. I am, at least, very happy.
But to me, Kimi ni todoke is perfect. and not perfect in this way that i have small problems but overall I'm happy. No, I find it perfect perfect. Every storyline every character development from beginning to end is perfect. I guess people complaining about Ayane or whatever, even if its not here on tumblr that much, just show me that I can't interact with fans of this fandom either.
See, ever since I found KnT in 2009 when I was just 17 (about the age of the characters in the story funnily enough) I have always rewatched it when I was doing poor mentally. I must have seen it 12-15 times over the years, I've probably watched it twice after my fathers death alone. These characters mean the world to me, all of them. I love all of them.
But the girls! At different times of my life I could always connect to another one of them. So much so that while I like Chizu best and think she resembles me the most (in fact, I think she is the anime character that is closest to me in personality), I find a part of me in all of them.
When I found the story I had just lost my friendgroup (because an ex lied about me, it happens) and I had to go back to being alone, so I emphasised with Sawako (and her distancing herself from her friends always makes me cry, without fail, always).
When I moved out to study in 2011 and was mentally so low in 2012 and dated guys because I thought otherwise they wouldnt be my friends, I reread Ayanes okinawa arc over and over and over again.
And of course I have my friends call me by a different name than my given name because my given name is boring lol Kurumi and me.
And ah, Chizu, it would be too long to explain. Too personal. Nobody would care. I had a best friend once that I lost because I was scared of our friendship ending. I love Chizuru because we are the same, and I'm jealous of her because she is better than me. I don't have time or space to express my feelings. Level up to Nisi friendship level 6 to hear tragic backstory.
Also, I can't talk about this show without mentioning how much the voice actors mean to me. Long before I knew any seiyuu-names I knew Kazehayas-voice. In fact, I hated oikawa in hq SPECIFICALLY because he has kazehayas voice and isnt nice! You gotta be nice with that voice man! Their voices are tattooed onto my soul and when I hear them in other places I always think of KnT first.
I love them so very much that when I watched the Tokyo E ncounter episode with Nakamura Yuuchi (Ryu) and Sanpei Yuuko (Chizuru) when they are playing Halo and he is teasing her for having bad aim, I started crying - like sobbing. It was so weird I have you know but I just sat there and I couldn't get it together.
Anyway, Kimi ni todoke is perfect to me. Everything about it means the world to me. I have to physically restrain myself to not rewatch the season again.
Please netflix, finish it, please. You may cut some things. I will forgive you if you cut some things, but give me the end.
#nisi talks tag#long post#kimi ni todoke#ok that was my... brainfart about knt#i may just rewatch that tokyo en couter episode tonight just cause#PLEASE NETFLIX GIVE ME THE CHIZU CONFESSION PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE#you made my favourite scene SO PERFECT#so give me hte CONFESSIon#ITS WILD that chizu and ryu mean SO MUCH to me long before i started being a wild nakamura yuu chi simp#but now that i am its even BETTER#the THIK ABOUT IT THEN#and LET IT END#scene was ALREADY MY FAV#and now VOICED#literally made my heart flutter a little not gonna lie#UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

❅MCU Jotun Headcanons❅
in honor of @jotun-design-party by magpiemurder. I had been looking forward to this contest for several months, but i have not been able to do anything for it and i doubt i will magically be able to do something and submit it by the time the deadline roles around (which is in like less than a week). This makes me sad, especially since i was something i was actually looking forward to participating in (and for such a long time) :(.
but anyways. headcanons instead, i suppose:
(also these are not very organized so have fun with that)
while jotuns do have extremly low body temperatures, the "frost-bite" affect you see them inflict in Thor 2011 is not because of that. Instead, it is due to a residue on their skin (like poison dart frogs).
Unlike poison dart frogs, however, the residue doesn't just stay on their skin 24/7. Rather, it secretes out of their pores
When jotuns are young, it secretes automatically when they feel scared/threatened (or exhibit other strong emotions), but as they get older they learn how to control it and can do it on command (and also keep it from happening). (<- my reasoning for why loki's cloths froze and chipped away the first time but not the second)(sort of)
the blocky/chunky/heavy type architecture you see is because it is sturdy and can survive blizzards/other harsh elements
based off of what odin said in his monologue, jotunheim is "cold dark and barren," so the next few sort of are in line with that, but who know if he was actually telling the truth lol
not a lot of biodiversity (and FAR less plants than animals) :/ (i actually think it'd be cool to have a frozen planet teeming with life, but again, prev reason...)
since it's hard for plants to grow in such cold/dark places (lack of sun, dirt/nurtients, nutrient flow, liquid water, etc), the only "normal" plants you see are in the north pole (which is warmer, and is sort of a tundra type biome)(most plants typically aren't even there year-round). Everywhere else, plants have to find other ways to survive. Since photosynthesis isn't really a viable option (though there are a rare few that do!), most plants either perform chemosynthesis (x) or are parasitic (x). This also means that lots of plants are a ghostly white, rather than green (no chlorophyll).
licehen is less common than here, but can be found on occasion (and can be eaten)
mushrooms are relatively common, however (and unlike our mushrooms, can survive alright in the cold)
There isn't really any liquid water (and what little is seasonal), yet there are still life in the frozen water. There is a species of fish that produces so much warmth that the ice around them melts, and they swim through their self-made streams (that freeze back up once they've left). These fish eat snow/ice algae and ice worms (the algae and worms are actually real things in real life btw) (x) (x)
I thought it was interesting in the film how it's such a cold planet but nothing seemed to have fur, just skin... perhaps there are furred creatures, though, and they simply live in other regions. Id say the south pole, maybe the north pole, and and/or an isolated bit of land ("continent") on the opposite side of the planet. Long wooly fur. Horns. These creatures evolved to be warm on the cold, and the creatures we saw in the film simply evolved to not need to be warm at all.
the clothing you see the jotnar wear in the Thor 2011 is not their usual wear, it is their wartime/battle clothing.
This is because even though they are no longer literally warring, odin's treaty (aka sentence to slow genocide) was a "war against their people." As such, the majority of the jotnar choose to wear the wartime clothing until they all die out (as sort of a statement against odin/asgard's colonialism/imperialism)
(also probably "honor" or other culture type situation)
War clothing components:
Shaved Head: The jotnar typically grow their hair out long in times of peace, but shave it when times of war arise. In some regions, it is only those that go to battle that shave it, but in other regions all people shave it
Loincloth: made from Frost Beast leather. While frost beast hide is blue, the process to turn it into leather gives it a green tone (and is also becomes more rubbery than our leather). The sewing pattern of the loincloth itself typically is what gives it creative design, rather than having added embroidery/beading/embossing/etc.
Misc Decorations:
small decorative pieces are stuck directly to the skin via freezing water or using sticky sap-like substances. The most common places for these decorations are the head, upper chest, and shoulders. These pieces serve no protective functions, save the ones that are used to cover the nipples of jotuns with breasts (just around the nipple and areola, not the full breast).
small bracers, pauldrons, and greaves are sometimes worn.
Never shoes, pants/bottoms, shirts/tops.
Clothing should be NON besides the loincloth, and armour should be minimal and mainly decorative.
Decorative pieces are typically also made of frost beast leather. Metal is not usually used on jotunheim, because it is far to cold to melt anything (and to actually start a fire that hot would cause massive environmental damage). The only metal typically used it mercury, because it has such a low melting point (-38.829° C/-37.892° F). Interestingly, leather and mercury (and ice) are the only materials used in war clothing, not bone, even though bone is used in non-wartime clothing.
Overall Scarcity of clothing: While the jotnar don't typically get cold, they do want protection from cutting winds, ice, and snow (blizzards are strong enough that the snow can cause cuts/"burns"). As such, having such scarcity of clothing is a statement of strength/bravery and used to deter the enemy.
regular cloths cover more (to protect from the elements, not provide warmth). Leather, metal, fur, and fabric woven from wool are used. Bone and metal are also used. Typical colours would be the familiar green, dusty purple, grey/brown/black/white (fur colours), and some blue
piercings and gauging are popular, even though not always practical. Most popular places to pierce/gauge are the ears and nose.
Hair texture in the region where we visited in thor 2011 is typically smooth and silky (like lokis), but other hair textures (curly, coily) exist in different areas. All hair is typically raven-black, unless the jotun is albino (in which case, it would be white)
Unsure of:
i feel like jotuns would be carnivores, but at the same time i feel like loki would enjoy more vegetarian/pescatarian food options, so idk what to think :|
I feel like the casket of ancient winters would be taken straight from the core of the planet, and is super condensed ice and seiðr, and that's why taking it away ruined the planet
(but then that poses other questions, like why would they mine something and keep it as an artifact? were there warring tribes and they wanted to get ahead? did some foreign colonial/imperial power mine it and for their own gain and the jotuns only got it back later?)
also the other possibility is that the casket has to do with something of the passing of ancestors/powerful jotuns of the past and their seiðr or souls or smth is in it (and that would give more power to the "casket" part)
i actually i can think of a lot of things... but those are my main two for the casket
wait why are my indented bullet points not working anymore what!!! this was more neat-looking i swear
jotun breast milk does not have lactose. i will not elaborate.
ok those are all i can think of right now
(bonus loki-specific one: the reason he is so small was because his mom got stuck by lightning when she was pregnant)
#seriously tho i'm sad about the contest :(#:(((#unityrain.txt#mcu jotunheim#jotunheim#jotun#jotnar#jotun loki#mcu loki#loki#worldbuilding#mcu asgard#headcanon#headcanons#long post

I have no idea if my Viktor ASU conspiracy theory is just a copium overdose or are they really cooking something there at riot. Like:
-My biggest evidence is that Caitlyn also got ASU before Arcane, for obvious reasons, her model was god fucking awful. And fun fact! Viktor's current in-game model is the oldest out of all the champions that are in Arcane. He isn't the oldest (ironically it's Heimerdinger and Singed) but i think he is the only one who did not get any significant model updates. He is still pretty much the same as he launched in 2011, minus VFX updates. I might be wrong though.
-But if we take it to account, it would be appropriate for him to get an update, mainly because his design and animation is pretty fucking bad. There is a goofy charm to it, but he looks like a gormiti action figure.
-Arcane is also now canon which sure was a decision. I have mixed feelings about that, but putting that aside, one of the rioters confirmed that they are going to change Viktor (and Camille) to fit the retcon. Camille worries me af, but this also isn't a topic so back on track. They did not reveal anything specific, saying that it would spoil season 2.
-Considering that statement, would that mean that they would transfer his show design to in-game model? Or perhaps draw some solid inspiration from it, which yeah i think that might be the case. Lol designs are overall way more cartoony than in the show, which has it purpose. But we will see how that works out (if it even does work out this is still insane speculation on my part).
-Other really weird thing for me is the fact that Viktor did not get anything this year (beside some chinese figurine which also included old dr mundo design so i wouldn't take it seriously). If they didn't plan some drastic changes they would have done something for him by now. Besides High Noon (which had to be in production before Arcane premiered) he didn't get any skin on PC or LoR, he was not added to wild rift (rip that one twitter account), no emotes, no new icons, nothing. Considering how fucking popular this guy has gotten thanks to Arcane it's really fucking strange for me that RIOT of ALL GAME COMPANIES would not capitalise on it. Obviously we still have next year, if he gets a new skin in 2024 my theory is ruined :( I know he was never popular enough in riots eyes to sell many skins, but look at this. Viktor Arcane is one of the most requested skins right now. It could be a pretty dope legendary if you think about it. Yet nothing has been done.

What's your thoughts/opinions on the human box weapons?
[Neo's game time] ||Accepting||
Mmnnn this was a game for canon things in regards to the series itself but- I didn't say that it couldn't be fanon or rp related- so you got me on a loophole! Kudos! kekek
Some thoughts, questions, and theoretical thinking/suggestions under readmore.
Let's see... my opinions on the human box weapons that I see in the RPC a lot. I think they're an interesting premise? I don't write with many of them and the reason isn't that I dislike them. I do think they're cute a fun idea [trivia! I wrote humanoid box weapons in a fanfiction back in 2011, so ye, I don't dislike the idea lol] Anyways, I do find it a bit hard for me to interact with some of the humanoid box weapons on the mere premise that I wish there was more information on their background? For me, background information is incredibly important for me to understand how to work with a muse. It is important as world-building.
What do I mean?
Like, when did they suddenly become humanoid? Is the setting that they always were humanoid (Ie an AU)? What is the reason for them becoming humanoid? Experimentation? A freak accident? Some Arcobaleno mishaps? Is this a permanent thing or can they sometimes turn back into their regular forms?
The box animals are a part of the Vongola gear in canon, so in that regard, they should be dwelling within the gear themselves, but I never really see any mentioning of that- so then my next question (mentally) always became, 'do they not need outer sources of dying will flames to stay materialized?' 'Is it the fact that they cannot return to the vongola gear because they are a different from than the original?' 'Do they still have their abilities?'
For the abilities section, things HAVE to have changed in my mind. Like, a humanoid Uri doesn't have a tail, how is her 'tail' going to be used as a detonation source? A humanoid Roll probably doesn't have any spikes, so how is a 'needle form' even done in a human form?
I do find it interesting that i've seen that many people have it thus that the humanoid box animals age, but there are strong indications that this isn't the case. They don't age. They're simply beings that exist as is. To age is to suggest that they have life that is continually morphing and changing, there has to be metabolic processes. Cells are dying and being born to create new cells and 'growth'. If they are alive in that sense, then that means there should also be true death.
That is not the case. We've seen Byakuran's dragon be beheaded and then be okay in a future chapter. We've seen Uri go through the ringer and then still be okay in later chapters.
Is Neo saying this to be like: Y'all are so wrong for that.
No, I respect people's creativity and their settings. I think it's quite interesting to give them more human elements. I bring up this fact to suggest some thoughts/theories on how this came to be. Regardless of what happened to make this the case, when the box animals became humanoid, something changed within them to give them 'true life,' and therefore they can now age. They can eat and do other things like one would expect from actual living being. As beings of 'true life,' they can then self-sustain themselves and not be entirely reliant on their masters to provide them with dying will flames.
From my understanding, every single person possesses within them all of the dying will flames as this is the mere 'essence' of life. Does this mean every single person is able to ignite all flame types? No! You have to have enough of the flame energy within your veins for one, and you need to be able to harmonize with the energy for two. Not everyone is able to even do the harmonization part. This was kinda vaguely explained in the TYL arc by Yamamoto. It was only explained once and then neglected.
Think of it this way, each living being has a different amount of the dying will flames coursing through their body. It's a unique mixture, like how everyone has their own fingerprints. Without the fact that everyone has all the dying will flames in their body, you cannot explain:
How Xanxus' pure sky flame can get 'corrupted' by storm to create the rage flame.
How Hibari was stated IN CANON to have been able to ignite the mist flame because he studied so hard to understand it, that he was able to harmonize with it.
How Gokudera is able to ignite 5 different flame types.
How by all means a PRINCE, who by logic should've been a 'ruling class' doesn't have the Sky flame. Instead, Bel has the Storm. He don't give a rats ass about being a ruler of Varia or otherwise. He just wants carnage-- which the storm more closely resembles his desires.
Why do I bring up this fact? As beings with 'true life' and having the ability to self-sustain themselves, the box animals may be able to ignite other flame types as well.
We know for a FACT that the box animals are able to change their typing, or be able to be affected by other flame types. Look at Uri being able to grow as a feature when exposed to sun flames. Look at the way Bester can go from a Lion to a Liger when exposed to the rage flame. Big example is Mukurou who was ORIGINALLY a rain box animal but then gets turned into a mist type.
From this, you could argue that the humanoid box animals have way more potential now than they did before as lil beans.
All of this to be summarized with: I wish people had a bit more background information on the humanoid box weapons. That way I have a better idea of how Haru is to interact with them. Does she think that they can morph back to their original forms? Has she accepted the fact that they're here to stay? Do the box animals just simply live with their masters? Some of them will have a harder time to explain that to their parents, I'd assume.
Do they just return back to the vongola gear when tired, or no? Just examples of things that are important for me to know to better form how Haru interacts with the muses.
TLDR: I like the humanoid box weapons as a premise, and I think it's quite fun. I just want more information on the history of how they came to be humanoid, and what their lifestyle is like with their masters. Do they always exist outside the vongola gear or do they return? I just don't want to mess up by assuming something in the backstory of a humanoid box weapon and then get someone upset with me for being wrong. =w=
Give me more info, folks! I could ask, yes, but I get nervous. I don't want to ask because then maybe the other person feels pressured to have to interact with my muses. Maybe they don't want that. I don't want to be a bother.

2015: Carmilla Karnstein + Laura Hollis aka Hollstein (Carmilla the Webseries) aka my gay awakening
2014: Elsa (Frozen)
2012 & 2013: Higurashi Kagome (Inuyasha), Kuchiki Rukia (Bleach), Mouri Ran (Detective Conan), and Chiba Mamoru (Sailor Moon)
2011: Chiba Mamoru (Sailor Moon)
2009 & 2010: Kuchiki Rukia (Bleach)
Pre-2009: Who knows? My memory sure doesn't!
And I promised fun facts, so...
The early days...
The reason I can date my first fave to Rukia in 2009 is because that was when I made a Fanfiction.net account and posted my first fanfic. Don't read it I was young and foolish.
Bleach, Inuyasha, and Sailor Moon were my first animes. The first two I definitely watched on Adult Swim back when I still watched cable.
I used to be pretty skilled at self defense and even have a first degree black belt. One of the reasons why Ran from Detective Conan really left an impression on me.
There's a few unnamed faves that I also had from more obscure anime that were from so long ago that I can't pinpoint the exact years. A special shoutout to Asuka from Ask Dr. Rin! This show is in no way affiliated with Tohsaka Rin lol.
And yes, I do have male faves besides Mamoru! I love Hak and his constipated repressed feelings for Yona (Akatsuki no Yona) and my in-game name in FGO is inspired by Kurogane (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles). And for whatever reason, Fred is my favorite from Scooby Doo.
Honestly, I have to give Elsa some credit. I think she started the trend of my faves being "blonde/light haired "regal" rich/well off BAMF ladies who seem cold and distant on the surface but are actually dorks over-burdened and forced to grow up too fast, with a dash (or a ton) of family angst dumped on them." I mean, do you see any of my past faves being blonde? xD
The college days...
I was in denial about being queer and swore I was straight until I somehow found Carmilla the Webseries (I don't even know how) during the summer of 2015 and had a multi-step process of acceptance that went something like "Oh the actress for Laura Hollis is hot. Oh the actress for Carmilla is cute, pretty, and a huge dork. Oh everyone is pretty attractive. Wait mostly just the girls. Wait is that why I don't give a shit about men?"
Little Witch Academia is not only the first series where I published fanfic on AO3, but it's also the series that got me to write AND finish longer stories. So congrats, Diana! I really wanted to angst you :D It's also the fandom where I found my closer Discord friends. Love y'all, mwah.
I think Revue Starlight might be the series that squeezed the most faves out of me. It holds a special place in my heart for numerous reasons, but the main one might be the collab fic I worked on with Quill, who is now my partner 😊So thanks, ReLive even if your gacha game is somehow even worse than FGO.
That said, the series I seem to always go back to seem to be the To aru and Fate franchises. Maybe it's because they're still ongoing.
Those two are also the reason I started messaging Quill back in the day, so they hold an extra special place in my heart. Even with all their flaws.
And then Lostbelt 6 hit FGO and blew everything out of the water. I rave about Morgan a lot but that chapter of the game truly had a stellar cast. Nasu wanted us to remember that he can cook lol.
Where is my Lostbelt 6 anime, Aniplex?
#tomato rambles#why is the riyo april fools art#the only canon derp pic of her#this woman really does only have one expression#and it's :|#oh geez the fun facts got long#this truly was a ramble for once#not tagging all the characters since this is a personal post

It has already been a year since JH s6 was released! Honestly only feels like it's been out for a couple of months, it's so weird how it's been a year.
Yknow what this means ..... it's one year less now until a potential s7!!!!!!! If the same time period between these sitcom series remains the same (s5 to 6 was roughly 22 months), then s7 should come out around June 2025, WHICH IS NOT LONG AT ALL. I would do literally anything for a new series. I need new content so badlyyy
But to think that a year ago today I was absolutely freaking out and not being able to sleep due to the EXCITEMENT of a new wonderful series!!!! If only a certain man who's name begins with C didnt ruin the majority of the episodes, it would of been FABULOUS. I mean it still was, I love those first few episodes so much. Such a shame that so many good scripts were pretty much gone to waste though. I really really want to see Steve do those episodes, alas it will never happen.
I would really like to know what the original script was like for 'Sensible Training'. It wouldn't make sense with the plot shown, since if Mrs Sprocket coming round was a yearly occurance, then Robert would of dealt with it about 12 times before, so I wonder what would be different this time. I assume Robert would make sure Justin and LM were not around when his teacher came, since Justin has seemingly never heard of/met her before. So perhaps this time Justin and LM were unable to leave the house for some strange reason. I also doubt that Robert would try and change his best friend's personality, it just seems so out of character. Although I guess he may do it accidently whilst trying to teach good manners. But Justin usually does have good manners, he just acts weird in this episode, maybe he had too many sweets lol. I'd also like to see Robert's reaction when he discovers that his friends personalities don't go back to normal after realising the error of changing them (until Justin gets a head injury that changes him back of course). Seeing the original script for that would be so intriguing. Also for party animals (the most misery-inducing, horrendous episode known to mankind- we don't talk about Mrs Wilson's solo song.), I assume Robert would of dressed as some sort of bird, since all the other members of the family are also birds (Justin's a chicken and LM's a duck), so I bet he would of been a peacock. That would suit him so much though, especially due to his flamboyant-ness. I would LOVE to see that outfit, or at least the concept art for it. Ngl I would love to see the concept art for Robert's character in general, especially back in 2011 when they were figuring out what his outfit would be. It would be super interesting.
How did party animals even get made. I guess they wanted to give Mrs Wilson character development, but jesus christ it sucked. 'Oh, it's jelly time-' SHUT UP. THAT WAS NOT FUNNY. IT SUCKED. Yes it would of been much better with Steve in it, but tbh nothing could properly fix that episode. It does not make any sense at all that Mrs Wilson has never been to a party. Because like.......she HAS. Every time she's at the end of an episode, eg in The Big Split, she is dancing and singing in the 'Justin's House House PARTY'. She's actually canoniclly been in parties before. She probably just tried to make an excuse because she didn't want to come lol. She acts in an angry negative state of mind mostly, so it doesn't make sense how she's suddenly so shy in that episode. Of course people get nervous, but I feel like she would act in an annoyed way instead of a shy one. If I wrote it, I would make it so she attends the party, but acts all grumpy in the corner of the room, until someone (eg Cat or Robert) comes over and asks what's wrong properly. That would feel much more in character. Also how did noone know it was Mrs Wilson in the suit, especially Justin! He invited his friends, surely he would know who's coming. Oh well.
I just realised I talk about stuff so negatively wtf
Anyway HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO S6 NOW YIPPEE!!

bestie (nicest way possible) as someone who was new to the fandom last September I wouldn’t recommend making a sideblog and like talking about comics/batfam/etc if you haven’t read the comics? people get really touchy about that, because fanfic interpretation tend to be really far from how characters are in canon (and character relationships get butchered and softened and straight up invented for plot, which once again, creative liberty + that can be fun but often tends to be incredibly ooc & excludes women (cass, helena, steph, etc) or poc (duke (though his case is different considering when he was introduced), cass, damian’s poc but isn’t really ignored) in favor of white boys (jason especially, who shows up far later than said women & isn’t really close to the fam yet fandom tends to give him their relationships with the family) so like...you’ll probably be mostly wrong and people are rather unforgiving about that because they’re tired of people that haven’t read comics talking about the characters (incorrectly) while refusing to interact w/ source material, and it’s a huge problem & very prevalent so I can’t really blame them? idk I just don’t think it’s a good idea unless you want to reblog just art and stuff, which is fine! but like...everything's really confusing w/out proper research if you want to get into the fandom (everything post-reboot/post-2011 is largely ignored unless said otherwise because the reboot was so awful), so i just want to point that out! but I don’t want to be mean, just some advice :) (if you ever change your mind about comics, just give the say so! we’re (and i) am very glad to help you out with what to read and in what order, and take it from someone who was in your position six months ago, they are truly really fun!) /gen /nm
not to worry my friend this sounds pretty much exactly like the dsmp experience where new people never properly interacted with the canon content and the fanon got more and more bastardized over time as a result and everyone got touchy abt it. including me . you could say im familiar . im just on the other side now (oblivious newbie) which should be interesting. i have no intention of treading on anyone’s toes or making assumptions or even talking abt the characters with any sort of authority. if i do make a sideblog it’ll be just to reblog art n stuff.
plus i am ah. very aware that the fanon im consuming is an extremely warped perspective of the actual comics. and with how many different “canons” there are i’m sure it’s a mess. at least in dsmp we could always point back to just the og streams. here i’m gathering there’s 174958637 comics + 284871 writers + movies + live action AND animated tv shows + multiple video games and they ALL have intersecting characters and possible canons it’s giving me a headache just thinking abt it dear lord
so yeah. i’m perfectly happy sequestering myself in an oblivious fanon corner and not claiming to know anything. normally for a new fandom i would seek out the full source material and examine it thoroughly but theres just. too much. and i also just don’t enjoy reading comics. at least not the superhero ones. (i think the art doesn’t appeal to me? and something about the combination of written word and still visual art like. rankles at my sense of pacing and story <- just guessing though) i did watch the under the red hood movie tjough and it was cool so i may do more of those!
i’m glad you said you like talking abt this cause i just wrote you a whole essay lol. if i may ask do you know of any good fanon/fanfic content i could check out that stays mostly true to the comics canon? i’m curious ! but regardless thank you for the very nice message and warning it’s appreciated mwah

I keep wondering, where does the name Ostrich Monkey come from? Is it just two animals you like fused together into some kind of a chimera or is there some other meaning?
Also I happened to notice that Vibe Check (which I'm looking forward to buying come next payday) name checks TWEWY. I haven't played TWEWY but I find the topic of RPGs inspired by video games endlessly fascinating (I'm also on a huge Interstitial kick in spite of not having played Kingdom Hearts). Is there any other video game you would some day like to use as a starting point for a tabletop game?
So! Fun story, the handle "ostrichmonkey" has no meaning! Way back in like, 2011 when I was making my main tumblr, I needed a username, and this was what ended up sticking. Kept it for basically all my socials, and when I started doing more ttrpg stuff, just slapped "games" onto the end of it.
Good thing is, it's rarely ever taken on websites lol.
Also hello from Vibe Check! TWEWY is one my favorite video games of all time (and like, easily one of the best DS games), so if you ever get a chance, I highly recommend it. I think video games are a really fun place to pull inspiration from honestly! It's fun to try and figure out what elements you want to try and work into the tabletop-design-space. I've also done it for Dishonored with Paktbound, and have some very early ideas swirling for something inspired by the new Marathon that I've talked a bit about here and here.
I would love to play in Kingdom Hearts space some (KH2 is another all time fav), approaching from a different angle than Insterstitial (which absolutely rules, I adore that game). I would love to dive into the weird, complicated, fantasy melodrama of the franchise - so less focus on the world hopping elements for example.
At one point I was working on an SSX Tricky inspired game (couldn't quite figure out how I wanted to do semi-competitive-but-also-cooperative as an approach), but at some point I want to get back into that.
Related to Vibe Check, I have a loose idea that takes inspiration from rogue-likes and Neon White, where you go through different procedural generated "runs" with limited use Tokens (like cards in Neon White) that you're constantly picking up and using.
The in-progress Dark Confluence is directly inspired narratively by the Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring series, though less so mechanically.
There's probably more, but those are just a few that immediately came to mind!

Not-pow anon here! DW lol I figured. I would like to ask how you got into yuru yuri, its been going on for over a decade now and everything, I'm surprised it still has fresh fans coming in
HI NOT-POW ANON THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR ALL THE ASKS!!!
I got into yuruyuri in early-mid 2020! but don't be fooled, it doesn't really have anything to do with lockdowns or anything!! I believe I was 12 at the time.
I first discovered it back when I used to use reddit. I saw an artwork of Sakurako and Himawari, and I saw the title of the series! "Yuru Yuri!"
now, prior to that, I'd already been stung by like.. stuff I thought was yuri but wasn't... or stuff that was just too sexualized for me... but I saw "yuru yuri," looked up what the title meant, and I was like "huh! that's interesting!" I went to go read the manga and... well, I was pretty hooked! I love everyone in the amusement club's dynamic, and I loved the characters' relationships! I read it for quite a long time! I'd go through about one volume per night. I was a massive super duper yuru yuri fan!! like, a REAL big one!! Fun fact: When I first read through yuruyuri, I was as clueless as sakurako/himawari because I did NOT realize they liked each other AT ALL. I was always like "oh! hey! sakurako and akari have something going on? maybe? that's cool!" I WANNA HIT MY PAST SELF IN THE HEAD MOON!! MOON IT'S OBVIOUSLY HIMAWWARI!!! IT'S HIMAWARI AND SAKURAKO SMH OMG SMHHH
Anyways, once I finished reading it, I watched the anime... I cannot tell you how happy I was. I'd been reading yuruyuri and talking about it for a few months at that point, and when I finally watched it... It was like magic! I saw my favourite characters ANIMATED!! I saw Akari, chinatsu, and ayano who I saw myself in. I saw yui and kyouko, who were just SO DANG COOL!! I saw sakurako who I loved and Himawari who I.... well, though she's probably my favourite character nowadays, I don't think I liked her too much initially? anyways (oh and once I started watching the anime I think I was 13
I meant to portion my watches so that I don't finish the whole thing in one day-- AAAND I FINISHED ALL OF SEASON ONE IN ONE DAY
it was amazing. it was so amazing. I literally cried in episode 11, and I was laughing and smiling my way through all the rest
it was amazing... but it'd be over soon if I didn't stop.. watching...
so. I stopped. I remember it was a saturday. I set an alarm for exactly seven days from then, so I could watch season two. I mean, it was the least I could do, really!! people back in 2011 had to wait an entire YEAR for a new season! surely I, the AMAZING SUPER COOL Moon, could wait for a mere week..?
it was painful. Arduous. but I did it. I went a week without watching yuruyuri! that's not to say I wasn't engaging with yuru yuri as a whole! no, I was looking at the songs and stuff, REWATCHING season 1 since I wasn't allowing myself to watch season 2, talking to my friends about it... (I believe this was still late 2020 btw)... I was making do...
Until finally, the week past, and I allowed myself to watch season 2. "I won't finish it in a day. I won't finish it in a-" I finished it in a day. I cannot tell you how I felt listening to minna daisuki no uta for the first time. I feel like that's when yuruyuri truly hooked me. it was that precise moment when akari chose to keep her memories. Nowadays, I believe that memories are some of the most important things in the world. Do I think that because of yuruyuri? I can't tell you since I don't know, but probably.
I cried in s2e3. I laughed so hard I had hiccups and nearly threw up in s2e8, and I cried for a very long time in s2e11. I was so surprised that s2e11 and s2e12 were ORIGINAL! they weren't in the manga! I forgot to mention it earlier but seeing the manga moments I read animated was SO cool! SEEING YURUYURI ANIMATeD WAS SO SO SO COOL
it's always nice thinking about the first time I listened to minna daisuki no uta, and how far I've come since then... I can even play it on the piano now! how time flies!!
(okay yes shameless self promo SHHH)
anyways. rinse and repeat for season three. I skipped nachuyachumi and nachuyachumi+ because... well, uh, I didn't know they existed. but yeah I rewatched season 1 and 2 when waiting and.. it was fun. yuruyuri is fun. my memories from that timeframe are hazy but it was fun
after all that... well, yuruyuri's been a great part of my life. did you know that I was once scared to grow past 14?? I mean, I still am but like I was TERRIFIED "I'm not gonna be ayano age anymore.. what am I to do.."
since that time I've done so much yuruyuri stuff. I've talked about it, I've learned the songs, I've learn big amounts of japanese frmo it, I OWN NEARLY EVERY SONG ON CD!! IT GOT ME INTO CDS!!! It (alongside pow and NNEX) got me to start making music! it encouraged me to be more confident and loving with my friends! I wouldn't be moon without yuruyuri
there's more.. there's alot more. but I'm a bit tired now! sorry! send more asks about whatever! I'll be sure to answer~
#yuruyuri#yuru yuri#furutani himawari#himawari#daily himawari#dont' ask why I'm tagging with with daily himawari#moon answers

Sometimes I remember Melody was willing to give up her hearing ability to restore her body* and... not gonna lie, I hope she ends up changing her mind about that
(*this line sounds like it could also just mean "I wish none of this ever happened" vs. "I'd actually trade this ability to get my old body back," but the 2011 anime('s translation) explicitly mentions restoring her body no matter what it takes, so I'm inclined to think it's more literal)
Part of me does want her to get her old appearance back, if only because a) I'm curious to see it and b) those teeth must be a pain in the butt lol, especially for a musician - seems like she's managing with the flute somehow though
But also, considering we already have Bisky, who put a lot of effort into looking more conventionally attractive and cute to the point of suppressing some of her strength, I think it'd be nice to have Melody instead become comfortable with her new appearance to the point where she would choose to keep it along with the cool new power
(veering into wild speculation territory here, but the combination of hamsterifying her appearance while granting her an ability that lets her "see under the surface" and read people's emotions is an interesting one. Makes me wonder if she could have been a bit more shallow about looks before, and the sonata was kind of a Learning Moment? Though on the other hand, the leap from "having super good hearing" to "learning how to infer people's emotional states from their heartbeats" doesn't feel like something that necessarily Just Happens - seems like a very personal take on the ability, so maybe she was already quite an empathetic person beforehand)
(a little more half-coherent rambling about Melody, Bisky, & appearances under the cut because this post got long)
I do kind of wonder if Bisky's arc could also be headed in the direction of getting more comfortable with her buff looks (hi Vergei)... Originally I was going to say something like, Bisky's desire to look a certain way feels like an internally-motivated personal choice (which is fine - if she does it just because it makes her happy, then there's no real need to change), while Melody's feels motivated by external factors (so imo it'd be nice to see her overcome that and be more comfortable with herself).
But I'm actually not sure if that's true? We know Bisky hates her muscular body and Melody wants her old body back, but I don't think it's really clear for either of them whether that comes from insecurity, or simply from preferring a particular look (in Melody's case, the way she used to be before something horrible happened to her, which is totally understandable).
But while Bisky seems very confident and self-assured (with good reason), and I don't suuuper get the vibe that her decades-in-the-making choice of appearance is going to be undone by one very fervent simp lol, we did also see how she totally latched on to Kurapika's flattery, so. maybe needing external validation is more of a factor than it seems for her?
(and maybe that's a bit of a moot point anyway - I think external pressures can get pretty closely bound up together with one's own personal desire to look a certain way, something something We Live In A Society)
So maybe Bisky's actually the one who should embrace her true form, while Melody restores her body as a way of healing from the terrible thing that happened to her? Ooor maybe we get buff Bisky and keep hamster Melody and everyone is winning \o/
#melody my beloved i hope you never achieve your dream ♡#(well‚ one of them - i do want to see her burn that sheet music)#hunter x hunter#hxh#melody#senritsu#if she does get her old body back though i just hope she's still chubby with a double chin 🙏#i... may have just written a lot of words without saying anything of value idk i'm not very smart when it comes to analyzing fiction#hope someone out there gets some mild enjoyment from reading this rambling lol‚ but if not at least it's out of my brain o/#me-cringeposting

A STUDY OF ... the final death. life and death. the balance of existence. a great legacy. for the greater good. plans within plans. the living demon. continual resurrection.
RA'S AL GHUL from DETECTIVE COMICS.
balanced by nami.
this blog follows from @vitrumbra
hi! my name is nami, i use it/its pronouns, and i'm an animator(i have a degree lmfao).
I can be busy and have spans where i am not the most active and other times where i'm posting every few minutes...but no matter what i hope y'all enjoy your time here!!
on the matter of ra's al ghul!! i'm slowly but surely reading all(or most) of his appearances!! the primary one i base my interpretation on, however, is his portrayal from red robin (2009-2011) :] as i read more, his characterization is bound to adapt and change. i also take a lot of inspiration on how he's written from young justice, since i have watched that show in it's entirety. that being said i'm just taking personality cues, rather than the events of that show. i'm here to have fun and write this guy!!! if you have any reading recommendations send them my way, i'd love to read more, even if it's just dc comics as whole!!! >:)
Don't be a dick. This is probably my number one thing, this is for tumblr, it's writing, it's for fun. So lets have fun.
Selective. Mutuals Only. For the sake of my comfort, this blog is selective and mutuals only, meaning if I don't follow you, please don't try to thread with me or reblog my posts. I'm okay with sending questions or anons, but actual threads is a nono.
Mun =/= Muse. I AM NOT RA'S AL GHUL. Big important, I do not condone any of his actions. Please don't equate his morals and actions to my own.
I will not hold back my muse. I don't like to restrict or hold back my muse. I let the muse go in the directions the muse wants. The second I feel forced or the muse feels forced to do something that's out of character or unrealistic for the character, it causes inspiration to dwindle.
Triggers. This blog is 18+ only it will contain triggers. i try to tag as much as i can, but i am bound to miss things.
Discord/IMs. Discord is open for mutuals!! I am practically always on discord, I do the occasional discord drop, but all you have to do is ask and I'll give it to you.
Other Blogs. I have........a lot of other blogs. This blog is also a side blog. A side blog to VITRUMBA! I also have a LOT of other blogs, and my most active blog is PICAVECALYX.
Activity. Holy heck is my activity going to fluctuate. I have am a full time college student going into animation, and I also have a bunch of other blogs...and general needs for my own mental health. This blog is likely going to be LOW ACTIVITY for that reason. If you want to see me somewhere I'm more active...again go to picavecalyx, I'm pretty much always writing on there. I also do discord, which I'm likely to respond usually immediately.
Length. I have a habit of writing a lot. Like a lot-- You don't need to match my length, I just ask you give me enough to work with...that being said if you reply to like 5 paragraphs with a single sentence, I probably won't continue the thread lol.
I think that's it? I'll add more if necessary :)

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
if id been asked rhis question ages ago, i would say that it is definitely easier to draw someone facing left (like 3/4th view). it’s actually easier for me to draw someone facing forward nowadays, but i do struggle less drawing at fairly normal angles ^^
3. What ideas come from when you were little
im not sure how to answer this question… plus my memory is quite bad. when i was little i mainly drew things i liked haha ^^ (sonic for example). ig the original TSM comic is a better example of the ideas i had when i was little? my lengthy explanation is listed below!
for context, TSM (The Shapehead Monsters) is a webcomic i’ve been developing for several years now. the characters can be found here, and my tags for it can be found here and here (<- tag for the 2017 reboot art specifically). TSM takes place an undetermined but very long time into the future, where Earth has surpassed the lifespan of humans. here, humanoid insects known as Shapehead Monsters can be found. the plot follows Susie Square, a temperamental but kind girl on the search for her family’s killer, and her best friend/crush Cecilia Circle, a cool and collected vagabond who has a penchant for getting into tricky situations. as Susie tries to solve her family’s murder, she and Cecilia uncover more about their world than they could have ever imagined.
the above context is true for the current state of TSM, which is vastly different to the original plot of the first TSM comic i did back in 2011 (i dont have pictures on me so you will have to imagine). the 2011 comic didnt even start with susie & cecilia, it was just a sketchpad comic centered around two girls who had a crush on the same guy. from what i remember, they were shapeshifting catgirls? this plot was probably most definitely inspired by anime (i grew up watching keroro gunso lol). the girls (& by extension the guy) didnt have any names iirc. eventually, these girls wage war on each other by creating these fucked up bug creatures (indirect kaiju reference) to kill each other but they end up falling in love. the first shapehead monster (susie) is derived from these two monsters, and then the comic shifts focus to susie & her mishaps at school. tbh these were probably based on how i felt as a weird kid back when i was younger. love triangle never happened tho
susie ALSO gets into a weird love triangle at school (sean & jake who do not exist in proper TSM canon LOL) & also has like an evil twin at some point named winter (for some reason i renamed susie to summer here but then went back to susie later unprompted)??? it was really fuckinf weird. i was just fucking around drawing these little bug things back then. i mean i still am LOL but yknow. i think i got the whole shapehead thing from the sketchpad itself, it had a geometric square pattern n i just saw that & went with it.
by the way, the 2017 "reboot" as i call it was supposed to be a reboot of the og 2011 comic, except the original plot was the plot of a show that susie & cecilia were acting in (it was supposed to be a rom-com in which they fall in love despite playing each other's rival in the show). i honestly don't know where this came from, but by 2020 i had rehauled the entire thing & came up with a proper starting narrative ^^
here's a fun little design comparison!
#seahdalune#tsm#thanks for the ask! also sorry for rambling dhfkshfdkjsf i rlly didnt know how to answer that last question#this will be my first time publicly talking abt 2011 tsm which might be cool to some ppl idk. oaugh im normal abt my stuff

I finally deactivated my old DeviantArt account after having it active since 2011. I feel simultaneously at peace and sad. I think the word I’m looking for is “bittersweet”? I feel like going on a bit of nostalgia trip, soooooo read on if you want.
I joined DeviantArt in 2011. This was back when I was first getting into anime and looking at fanart of characters I liked. My first anime were InuYasha and Tokyo Mew Mew, but I’d browse through and like fanart of other anime I came across as well. Over time, finding those fanarts (and thanks to Quizilla, but that’s a whole different story) led me to watching other anime I still hold dear to my heart today (I’m sure my middle school self would feel this 100x more lol), such as Soul Eater, Shugo Chara, etc. It became a way for me to engage with those characters and others who liked them. It was my introduction to fandom. I remember going back-and-forth in the comments with other users for pages -- and I mean pages and pages of comments -- on how great these characters were. I made a lot of friends this way, most of whom I don’t really talk to anymore, but I really cherished the times we spent together.
This site was also one of the biggest reasons for my writing development. After posting some fanfic on my account (which I ended up taking down maybe...a month later lol), I happened to come across Fanfiction.net while scrolling through stuff. I think it was mentioned in someone’s post. Anyway, being on DeviantArt led me to creating a Fanfiction.net account. I posted fics on there from middle school to the end of high school, and then one more in college. From there, I moved to Ao3 and stopped using FF.net altogether. Anyway, tangent aside, if it weren’t for DeviantArt, I don’t think I would’ve gotten into writing or reading fanfiction. Both on DA and FF.net, I remember how I’d talk to other users about our OCs, what we were writing about, etc. It was really amazing to find people who were just as passionate about writing for certain fandoms and characters as I was. If it weren’t for that, I’m not sure how my writing would look now. I could go on a whole tangent about how my original writing has developed since then, but that’d take a while soooo...moving on.
Of course, I also developed a lot of my drawing and photography as well. I look back on my old art and compare it to now and think, “Wow! I did that!” Being able to show my pictures to people and create something I envisioned gave me even more motivation to get better. I wanted to reach the level of the kinds of artists who could evoke feelings from looking at their art. I’m still not at professional-manga-artist level by any means, but when I compare my old work to now, I feel proud to see how far I’ve come.
I miss those journal memes where you’d put your OCs or favorite characters into situations. (E.g. “4 and 7 are locked in a room together! What do they do?”) I miss finding fanart of anime I’d never seen and going down rabbit holes before eventually deciding to watch them. I miss the weird little badges you’d get like the Llama Badge. (I think that, by the time I deactivated today, I was up to the Super Albino Llama.) I miss making connections with other fans in ways that other sites can’t replicate.
Being a member for 12(ish) years shaped a huge part of my youth and being. I know there’s a lot of mess going on right now with DA, but I’ll always look back on those memories fondly.

my hunter x hunter review!<3
first of all, i would love to rank all the arcs that i've watched so far. it will contains spoilers(!!!) so read this if you already watched them or didn't mind the spoilers hehe! this is 100% my opinions.
my list of the arcs.;
yorknew city arc.
hunter exam arc.
chimera ant arc.
greed island arc.
heavens area arc.
first of all, this is 100% biased, so yes my number one on the list would be yorknew city arc. since its revolved around kurapika most of the times. plus i'm getting more interested in the phantom troupe because of those 2 episodes on chimera ant arc. and luckily we get to see them a lot of time on this arc. too (rip pakunoda)! the plot and everything is really intense and interesting for me so it's kinda hard (in a good way) to finish one episode. i love this arc. even more after knowing the fact that kurapika didn't appear on other arcs. after this one so its quite sad for me :( oooh and i was quite disappointed (just a little!) by the fact that the shadow hunter(?) and the other strong ones are no match to the troupe. i mean...they're supposed to be so strong right..?:O at least make the troupe hurt a little lol.
second arc. is the hunter exam because of course its like the OG one here and i watched hunter x hunter before they remake(?) it on 2011 so yes it should be on my top 2 at least^^ all of these episodes are so light to enjoy as an 'action' anime and it makes hunter x hunter so interesting and suitable to watch since i was a little. really love to see the story of their first meet with each other and how they literally did an exams to become a hunter (which basically THE story of this anime). also love the episodes when they went to get killua back, whats wrong with his mom tho i really wished to see the background story of the zoldyck family.
can't believe i'm saying this but the chimera ant arc. is on my top three(!!!) when it should be on the bottom of my list when i first watched it haha. i remember searching 'chimera ant arc. review' in the middle of watching them just to see if its 'worth' to watch and thank God i finished it! every review that i read saying that they love the 'character development' and as i finished this arc. i totally get it (and cried too!). i really love how killua handle things too. it shattered my heart to see him talking with sobbing and crying while explaining the situation to palm :( oh! and i wish pitou would face a more painful death because of what she did to gon!!! (although she's my number one in the three guard and i keep saying 'nyaruhodo' for everything sorry mom).
the greed island is actually good and really light too, as it didn't really include an 'intense' battle. i mean, yes there's these episodes of the ball thingy, but still it's not a 'battle' in my opinion. anyway, the arc. is so fun to watch as gon and killua were also having fun with all of these collecting cards and doing some mission to get some. and bisky is funny too! oh and that one scene of hisoka lol its quite surprising tho i didn't expected them to meet him like that haha.
the last on the list, it's not because the arc. is boring or anything but it's just umm a constant plot for the characters to learn nen and all of these things. it's still good tho! but like the part when gon and killua just pushing (literally) their opponents to get their win is so funny and like whatttt okay they're strong but at least make it a little complicated to reach higher levels (but its still fine and not a bother at all hehe!:)). i guess its the last on my list because it circles around one place so its a bit too constant comparing to other arcs. and all.
