The message isn't one he expects to see; it's not typical for him to get any messages so 'late', but dutiful as ever, Curly checks. Because it might matter. It might be someone who's counting on him.

It's Jimmy.

Immediately, his blood runs cold, and he glances down at the doll held in his arms along with two others. Was he squeezing it too tight? Did he hurt him?

The light of the phone illuminates the darkened room just enough for him to see a faint shadow here and there on the fabric, and he worries for a second that he'd drooled on it in his sleep.

But no, with this pattern of splotches , dotted all over...

He knows what he was doing. He knows how he woke up.

I'm fine, thank you. I think I drooled on it in my sleep. I apologize for bothering you.

As easy as breathing, he lies -- he can't burden Jimmy with something stupid like this, can he? That wouldn't be fair, or reasonable. He's always troubling Jimmy, and even if they're friends, it's not right that the help is always going one way...

In the hopes of distracting him, he sends a second message as a follow-up.

Maybe I can make it up to you with something that feels nicer one of these days...

With any luck, Jimmy will latch onto that and not ask him any more questions. He turns his phone off and rolls over to hopefully get more sleep...but he makes sure to set Jimmy's doll to the side, tucked in neatly to keep him warm -- just to make sure he doesn't make a worse mess of him if the grief for a life he's never even had the chance to live, and possibly never will, hits him once more. At least he can't bother Sunshine or Jim if he cries on their dolls.

19. the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic

Ohhh boy im struggling to think of something? Somehow?? It HAS been a while since i've done some research. I've mostly looked into little things like how long it might take someone to get from Chicago to Boise in the 1920s by train (faster than these days, the internet told me, despite the machines being slower, bc the US railway has gone to shit) or the summer and winter temperatures of St Petersburg, Russia. I don't think nebulous knowledge counts, like i've taken knowledge of volcanoes and their effect on climate into a ficlet without actively researching specifically for that WIP? Tho i did do a wee bit of reading about the Tambora eruption, but that was mostly out of personal interest and mild obsession. (Volcanoes are sexy okay.) I do still intend to read the norse myths for ~reasons~ but that research hasn't been done yet, so 🤷

Oh, I feel like Kira either does like, a long soft cotton nightgown or something really cute and silk -- all depends on what she's feeling and her comfort level. She has a lot of sets with matching robes and headbands/hair wraps, some of which she's made herself. Some examples!

formal: What's your OC's formal look? Do they like dressing up? Do they have different looks for different occasions? Oh, Ori LOVES dressing up. She loves being a sexy it girl who turns every head in the party. She knows how to adhere to a dress code of course, but her favorite going-out look is for sure a short tight dress with long sleeves.

absolutely living for the fhr brain rot - i'm a complete convert ! in my obsession with exploring every nook and cranny of this (frankly massive) story, do you know how to incorporate a save system into your steam/cog version ? that's a lot of game to replay every time

ahhh thank you so much anon!!! im very happy to know that youre enjoying my ramblings djfjkf. as for the save file stuff, there is! it also acts as a stat and variable editor, so you can test out different things as you like. theres a tutorial on how to use it in the download site itself! also, not sure if thisll be of any use to you, but in case you want to make sure you dont miss anything, you can also try codediving. personally, it added a lot of context to things that i didnt understand at first, and it also made me go "???? you can do that?????" about a lot of the scenes. i hope you have fun going through it all! fhr is, as you say, Massive, so its a treat to realize you missed something and get to play a completely different game than your last run!

1. Do you listen to music when you write?

Absolutely not 🤣 I actually don't listen to music on purpose unless I'm driving, I really like silence, I'm overstimulated really easily and there aren't many situations where I want that extra stimulation over some peace and quiet. However the car MUST have music and I will riot if music isn't being played.

Words being played in my ears while I'm trying to make words actually kinda sounds like torture, I've actually cried in a math class because the teacher kept playing words music while I was trying to math 😅

11.  Books and/or authors who influenced you the most

It's really hard to say, I was a huge H*rry P*tter kid, baby's first fandom, but I read so many random things as a kid I really can't remember or keep it straight anymore. I think this is more of a DM question when I've got the time to ramble about random books I read in high school unfortunately.

17.  What writing habits or rituals do you have?

Trying to make myself open my writing app AND a document and then start writing. Exiting out of the app after ten words and scrolling on Tumblr. Drabbling on discord instead of writing. Reading my old fic instead of writing.
