Yayy thank you!! (and I'm sorry I took so long to respond, it's been a very hectic week😅)

one aspect about them i love

Kira really embodies a lot of what I miss most about Star Trek tbh, which was the real desire to make the audience uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong; there is a lot about TOS, TNG and DS9 that didn't age well- but I still think an important goal they all shared was to take certain ideas and ideologies that might've seemed far-fetched to the audience of the time, and say- "why not?" Also, "Does this character's existence- and presence- make you uncomfortable? Well, maybe that's a YOU problem." And that's a goal which (imo) really faded over the years, because they grew more and more afraid of turning off the conservative audience. But not with Kira! Within minutes of her introduction, she offers a scathing shutdown of the "frontier" that Star Trek was quite literally built upon. She is literally a sympathetic "terrorist" MAIN character (rare enough), and furthermore a woman- and that too a "difficult" woman, who refuses to let herself be ignored or compromise her people's needs for the Starfleet crew's comfort (!!!), who is ANGRY and deeply religious and nationalistic and PROACTIVE and stomps around and shouts and cries and disagrees and wears her passion on her sleeve and is not at all afraid to make a nuisance of herself- and yet, still has numerous flaws and so many moments of self-doubt and raw vulnerability. What a fantastic character! This was 1993; I can think of so few TV women from that era who actively challenged the constructs (and men) around them so much. I love everything she represents

one aspect i wish more people understood about them

That her arc is more about learning to land upon nuance; not toning down her Bajoran-isms. Her patriotism and faith do occasionally steer her the wrong way, yes- but Kira's growth doesn't at all involve her renouncing either of those things! If anything, it's Sisko who ends up having to adjust to her perspectives. In general I'm always craving more nuanced discussions re DS9's postcolonial dynamics, too- Kira has such a range of interactions with Cardassians on the show, and numerous episodes ('Destiny', 'Life Support', 'Ties of Blood and Water', etc) show that she's genuinely invested in peace between their peoples; something I think often goes ignored. Yes, she's justifiably furious about everything they did to her home- but at the end of the day, what she wants is justice and reparations for Bajor and Bajorans; and if a small (understandable) part of her does want to see Cardassia crash and burn, she really doesn't act upon it

Also, she's funny! Remember when she told Dukat the baby was O'Brien's with no further explanation? Lmaoo what a troll

That she only received a very basic education. She does mention finger painting and playing springball as a kid, but also- Kira grew up in a refugee camp and she joined the Shakaar cell at age 12; she probably missed out on the higher education even the average Bajoran of her generation received (which itself was likely Cardassian State-controlled). Idk, this is low key important to me because so many Star Trek characters are almost like- defined by their scientific and educational smarts, if that makes sense? It's refreshing to see a Trek character who doesn't quite make sense of herself or the world around her primarily through (Western) scientific constructs

Also, Kira absolutely has unexamined caste biases; she just never really learnt to recognise them because caste played such a minimal role in the Resistance- but most Bajorans are far more aware of caste dynamics than she typically is (I just do not buy that the D'jarra system completely went away in less than 60 years)

one character i love seeing them interact with

Ben Sisko! They have SUCH a fascinating dynamic, it's so complex and sweet and often quite trying and hurtful but still kept afloat on this deep, deep underlying mutual respect. Ben's position as the Emissary makes everything so wonderfully complicated, and watching Kira's frustrations at the fact that she actually believes in him morph into reassurance as he slowly transforms from being the Starfleet Outsider to truly being Of Bajor... ahhh it's so good. That scene where he invites her to a baseball game lives in my head rent free! (Also they high key make a fascinating ship imo, I am something of a post-canon Sisko/Kira/Kasidy truther)

one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more

I have multiple answers to this (Julian, Worf, Garak, Keiko, Ziyal, Cretak, Jake, Ezri, etc) but I'm gonna go with someone she actually interacts with quite a bit, because I just wanted mOArrr. Jadzia!

Yes, it was the 90s, so I'm glad they were at least allowed to be friends and not like, cattily pitted against each other. But I still craved more layers to their onscreen dynamic! I mean, Jadzia, the Starfleet "Science Officer" who openly dismisses Kira's religious beliefs on more than one occasion? Kira, the child soldier who finds most of Jadzia's pastimes and preoccupations frivolous and silly? It's so interesting that they keep spending time together despite such fundamental differences, and I would've loved a bigger exploration as to why! They deserved their own 'The Wire', basically. Much like the central two characters of that episode, the answer is that they actually have a LOT more in common than is apparent at first glance (fraught senses of identity, complicated relationships with their home worlds, a sense of loss regarding family) where they outwardly seem like polar opposites. And all of this is not even getting into the nonlinearity of Bajoran religion vs the lives of Dax... gosh, there was room for so much! They deserved a whole Big Sequence full of Monologues the actors could really sink their teeth into, they deserved for one of them to fly off on a dangerous quest to save the others' life- and you know what!! They deserved a little homoerotic hand-holding too!! But, I suppose that's what fanfiction is for😂

He didn't know what to make of himself in those moments indeed. It was probably due to the fact he hasn't been feasting enough! That's a reasonable explanation.

ॄ⿻🍙 | Still! the demon could not bring himself to come to reasonable terms with all of this pandemonium brewing within him. The eccentric, yet painstaking feeling of utter lust coursing through his veins at each passing moment of each passing day. It was beyond repulsive towards him, disgusting, terrible. However, as much as he attempted to fight the urge within he was weak. Pitiful. Even deficient in his trials to forget about you. You were a necessary staple in his life.

ॄ⿻👁 | He needed more of you! just a small glance was worth a hundred years off his immortality and so it would be worth it. Just to see your majestic, soft locks of hair gently sway in the wind as your nose crinkled up like paper from your adorable, genuine smile; it was truly, a sight for sore eyes and indeed a sight that should only be put on display for him and for him only.

ॄ⿻🍙 | He would stalk you, if it wasn't obvious by now, always keeping a close but distant eye(s) away from you during the periods when the luminescent moon would shine the brightest in the ebony, galactic ether. Watching your motionless body rest ever so peacefully, observing your physique for all your features. Your curves to your smallest noticeable features. Even counting your breathing patterns by the second as you lay there, unaware but peaceful.

ॄ⿻👁 | Heavenly, was the only word to describe your appearance to Kokushibo. Your looks were unmatched by another, everything about you was absolutely divine and exquisite. Your skin was so perfect, your hair was always the most gorgeous sight to intake, your soft locks always complimented your body nicely; your eyes as well, they were truly breath-taking. You were just an angel sent from heaven, for him.

ॄ⿻🍙 | Kokushibo would also take it upon himself to gain entail on your interests, hobbies and routine, but of course, in doing that, there will always be an obstacle to overcome. The worst part per se. There's always those disgusting, foul humans that try to talk and get close to his angel, do they even know they're infecting you with their filthy nature? Those mortals didn't even know the upper rank 1 placed his eyes on you first, his precious, and he won't let anything be a problem when it comes to you. He can't afford for it to happen.

ॄ⿻👁 | Although Kokushibo looks solemn through it all, his blood is at boiling levels your mind would not be able to comprehend. If looks could kill, daggers would be piercing those repulsive creatures left, right and centre by now. However, he must refrain from taking action at that point in time, patience is key. Especially in daylight where he watches from the shadows, it makes him feel tedious when he sees those interactions between his angel and those pesky parasites.

ॄ⿻🍙 | So for inraging the upper moon 1, he takes matters into his own hands and prepares a full night of torture for his most unfortunate victims who cross paths with you. He loves to use his bare nails to ever so slowly create gashes within the poor human's flesh before tearing a limb off clean from its socket. Kokushibo absolutely adores the screams and cries of pure agony they make from the immense torture but that's only the beginning, for the fortunate victims.

ॄ⿻👁 | I do like to imagine he has performed a 'surgery' on one of his most pestilent 'patients' who flirted with you that faithful day. It was rather fun and such a bloody sight! Sharp, quick tears of human flesh being split open under broad, soft moonlight through the thick canopy of trees. Having a marvelous display of the human anatomy, from the muscles to the ribs of the person. It seems as if Kokushibo skinned them alive.

ॄ⿻🍙 | With their muscles being torn open slowly with the assistance of his powerful jaws; revealing the skeletal structure as well as slimy organs pulsing. Only an expressionless look could be found on Kokushibo's face as his mouth is drenched in the blood of his victim's. Finally, to end this suffering once and for all, he caresses the human's heart before gouging it out completely with one tight pull.

ॄ⿻👁 | For days! screams of pain, sorrow and agony emanated from the dense forest. Corpses and mutilated bodies were the only things left behind afterwards. It was the act of a malicious creature indeed.

ॄ⿻🍙 | With time you became paranoid that you'd be next on the hit list since others whom you loved and were with you always vanished, the only last traces of them being their unrecognizable corpse after. How sad. Little did you know, the person who was causing these disappearances was growing tired of having you by yourself. He needed to have you, feel you, touch you, be with you.

ॄ⿻👁 | So thats what he did, after one night of finally holding your limp body fast asleep within his strong arms and which were much dirty from previous matter, he finally had you in his grasp. And it felt amazing! The mass amounts of waves of pure pleasure flooded over him at the simple touch of your bare skin, it was great.

ॄ⿻🍙 | Soon after, you awoke when the sun just peaked over the horizon, confusion looming through the atmosphere. You weren't in your room, you weren't home, you were unfamiliar with everything in this place. Surely, it looked cozy and nice but you were horrified. What could this place be?

ॄ⿻👁 | You did some exploring of the cozy home and found and exit, opening it to only be revealed to upper moon one. And he was touring and big compared to your built. His blank stare was cold and you could feel shivers and cold sweat running down your back gradually. He smiled softly. Your blood ran cold as he spoke up to introduce himself to you, before laying down some ground rules.

ॄ⿻🍙 | You weren't a pet so that was utter crap! no matter how many protests you put up he always was calm and eerily quiet about it. However, that doesn't mean you'd get off scot-free, your punishments were never usually sexual, that was used as a reward; if you were comfortable with it. But they did consist of you being isolated for extended periods of time without food and barely any drink or you were forced to eat cooked flesh from your own kind.

ॄ⿻👁 | He would never hurt you though but don't test him too much, his patience isn't to be taken for granted. Attempt one slick move and a bone will be broken to prevent further instances. Isn't that fair darling? He's only giving you what you wanted; anything you could possibly want from the prettiest clothing to the shinest jewelry to the most delicious food. He can do it all, just love him!

ॄ⿻🍙 | Muzan would probably not care about his newfound obsession. For the most part, he'd encourage Kokshibo to be with you, only feeding into his tendencies; as long as it does not disturb his work. So, there's really no happy end, for you, however, he does have a different story to tell. Maybe you'll love him, cherish him like how he does with you. Show him the affection that he's always dreamed of! Be his. He'd do anything to protect his angel.

ॄ⿻👁 | And for the record, there are all six eyes on you, I suggest you don't plan on anything foolish.

Sorry in advance for the long ask; feel free to delete without even reading the whole thing, I just really need to voice this somewhere and if by chance you did want to reply I’d massively appreciate your perspective.

I just was wondering… do you have any advice for finally ditching the plausible deniability of being “neutral” or “just anti-harassment” while existing on the selfship side of tumblr?

When I first joined the community I had genuinely never heard of proship vs antiship before, so I took a year or so researching and deciding where I stand on the matter. After witnessing the insanity of antis in action over and over and finding a much more rational community on Aethy and elsewhere in proship spaces, I’ve found I definitely come down on the proship side of the line. In recent months especially, I’ve found myself blocking more and more of my former mutuals or people I used to follow because of their “proship DNI” banners or the way they talk about other people who aren’t up to their standards… the trouble is, I’m not finding anyone new to fill my dashboard from proselfship tumblr, either.

I’m down to a handful of selfship blogs followed, and feel like I can’t reblog almost anything selfship-related because everything is polarized and I’d either be reblogging stuff that’s yelling “proship DNI” at the bottom, or else painting a target on my back and the backs my mutuals and whoever I reblog from by reblogging from proship blogs to an audience that I feel certain still contains a lot of antis but can’t possibly weed out entirely.

I’m not sure what to do. I think I’d be very easily identifiable if I just made an entirely new blog and turned the old one into an archive, so it would only be delaying the issue to take that route. Just slapping “btw this blog is proship now” might cause asshole antis to decide to harass not only me but anyone I associate with. I’ve never felt quite so badly “stuck” as I do now in terms of social issues.

Any advice would be welcome, but if you don’t have any, then thank you for taking the time just to read this. I hope you have an awesome day, and remember that your f/os adore you. 💙

It's a very complicated situation, I'm really sorry nonny!

Well, I've been there before. My main blog grew way more than I wanted it to, getting to over 1.5K followers, so I also felt cornered and unable to reblog the things I liked or interact with the people I wanted to.

It may be scary but the best advice I have is to make an entirely new blog and take your time warming up to the new waters. If you're afraid that you'll be recognized on Tumblr, then the communities over on Mastodon might be a bit better for you to gain confidence! If you're an adult and comfortable with NSFW content, I strongly suggest Baraag.

If you prefer to keep your original blog, it's a bit more complicated if you have constant/active interactions with your anti mutuals, because the safest option would be to block them. If you do, change your settings so that only mutuals can message you and so you won't be able to receive asks with media or anon asks, so you can avoid harassment.

I suggest slowly distancing yourself from antis until you feel it's safe to block them, instead of doing it right away, because people may block-evade you to see what's been going on in your blog after a sudden block.

As for only finding a couple of people to follow, you don't have to worry about it! If you follow five people, they'll interact with other accounts that will eventually catch your eye and so on. That's how your community and online spaces grow!

Ever since I drew that first swastika, we’ve had to suffer through some stupid tolerance education. Luckily todays the last day we have to suffer through hell just because of me being stupid, all though… I’m starting to regret it because of what a swastika means and what it represents. Ever since I’ve found that out I’ve been starting to feel like a jerk, especially since we have a Jewish kid, well girl, in our school, Dana. I wasn’t really trying to spread hate around the school, I was just trying to do something stupid since our Dino poop prank didn’t work. That’s all that really happened I guess so, goodnight i guess? Wait hold on, why am I saying good night to a journal? Ehh never mind. So… at school today while we were in the gym for the assembly, they pulled a banner down for the baseball team and it had another swastika on it… but… i didn’t draw this one so.. that means someone else is doing this, and especially on the last day of tolerance education. That’s just a jerk move and obviously it isn’t someone trying to do something stupid like I was, this person is trying to spread hate around the school and it’s all because of me and me trying to one up the failed Dino poop prank. Man… now I just feel like an idiot because I started this whole thing, and nobody knows it was me. So when people find out I drew the first one… they will think I’m the one who drew them all! Oh no, what if all of my friends and family hate me for this when they find out? What would happen then… I don't wanna know! Worst part about the whole swastika thing is that more might show up, all because of me.

Mom told me that grandma was Jewish today… Now my mistake has turned into a massive screw up on my part. I can’t believe I'm half Jewish and I drew a swastika on the atrium wall in school for EVERYONE to see. Now when grandma finds out I drew a swastika, I'm gonna be in a LOT more trouble, even though I was already gonna be in a lot of trouble before this. Oh boy, the rest of this school year is going to be horrible for me with the guilt of drawing a swastika following me around AND more swastikas beginning to show up around the school because of ME. I feel so stupid for drawing a swastika now, I mean, I have this whole week so far but now that I know what swastikas represent, man, I feel stupid. Well, I was thinking about having a bar-mitzvah as kind of a way to forget about me drawing a swastika and apologize for drawing a swastika. I could ask dana for some help study for it if I do have a bar-mitzvah, but she might think I’m just playing around with and joking about having a bar-mitzvah, but it’s worth a shot so that’s what I’ll try and do, ask dana if she can help me study for my bar-mitzvah, if I have one..

So I asked mom and dad if I could have a bar-mitzvah and dad was quite reluctant about agree but he agreed so now I just have to ask Dana if she can help me study for it, which will probably be a no without any context or story to go behind why I’m having a bar-mitzvah but that’s okay! I can explain why, though still knowing that grandma is Jewish is making my mind flood with regret over drawing a swastika but this is my way of apologizing, by having bar-mitzvah! But what if the news comes out before I can have my bar-mitzvah and everyone hates me and nobody comes to my bar-mitzvah and I’m outcasted in the town and- actually… no… I won’t let my bad thoughts distract me from my goal of having a bar-mitzvah and apologizing for drawing a swastika in the school. Also something big is starting tomorrow! We’re making a paper chain that is 6 million links long to represent the 6 million victims of the holocaust, and I was the one who came up with the idea, actually, Caroline did but I’ll take the credit since everyone thinks I came up with the idea and started it all, which I didn’t but, you know. And it all started at a student council meeting, which I don’t normally go to but meh I went this time, and because of that, everyone in the school came as well, even jordie and Michael came! That made Caroline really proud as well, so proud and excited that she screeched when we all agreed on making a paper chain. I was also quite excited but.. not so excited as to screech in front of the whole school, even Mr. Bradamis. The library was packed full of kids to, to the point where there weren’t enough seats for everyone to sit and half of the kids had to stand in the library while we came up with the ideas and then finally settled on making a paper chain, that Mr. Bradamis was very reluctant about doing so, since he thought we would run out of construction paper before we even make it to 1 million links but we convinced him, I think. Well good enough to get him to agree on letting us try and reach 6 million links, which I think we can do, easily. I’m a little nervous though , because what if when we get to school tomorrow there’s ANOTHER swastika somewhere in the school and it’s all because one person is trying to prove a point about swastikas and how they're okay to draw anywhere, which they 100% aren’t. What makes me feel even worse about drawing it, is that one of my best friends, Michael, found MY mess up and now some think it was him who drew the swastika..

Today was horrible, we found another swastika just this time it was outside and painted in a bright white colour on a dark, metal dumpster. I didn’t paint this one so I’m really confused on who keeps painting them, could it be one of my friends? No, they wouldn’t! I was playing twister with Caroline and a few others when it showed up so now they know it wasn’t me! It would be impossible, the paint still looked fresh and I couldn’t have painted it because like I said, I had been playing twister with Caroline and others when it showed up. On a happier note, I asked Dana if she could help me, and like I thought, she thought I was joking and said no, but after I told her my grandma's story and how I’m half Jewish she agree and invited me over for dinner at her house tonight so we can study together for it and she can help me with it. My parents already agreed to let me go over to Dana’s house tonight to study so that’s a win in my book. But I still can’t believe that someone would become a copycat of me and begin to draw swastikas all over the school. Everyone was shocked about just 1 showing up in the school but now there’s more and people know this is someone who is really REALLY trying to spread hate, and it’s not me… though everyone will think that I drew the other ones if News comes out about me drawing the first one, but that’s kind of impossible because HOW would they know or find out I was the person to draw the first swastika, it’s not like they have cameras on me 24/7 and watch my every move everyday all day, right? How would they find out about me drawing it at all? But what if they have cameras in the school that caught my every move on camera and now they know it’s me who drew the first swastika and they’re waiting for The perfect time to bring me to the office and make me confess to drawing it and then it ruins the rest of my life!? No no! I mean.. the school probably has cameras but the whole part about “now they know it’s me who drew the first swastika and they’re waiting for the perfect time to bring me to the office and ma,e ,e confess to drawing it and then ruin the rest of my life ” that was probably just me over thinking it all.. I hope.. that whole tolerance education thing has made me feel horrible, I mean, I felt horrible the whole time after it but now that I’m having a bar-mitzvah, it’s making me feel worse and that the rabbi is just going to turn me away and not let me have my bar-mitzvah because I was being stupid one day and decided to try and get back at my dad for taking me out of soccer and for the Dino poop prank failing on us… I didn’t mean to cause people to become scared to go to school because what if another swastika shows up. This whole situation is all happening because of me and my dumb, stupid mistake. I wish I could just go back in time and never have drawn that swastika because, A. We wouldn’t have had to suffer through tolerance education for 3 weeks, B. We wouldn’t have a copycat, copying the first swastika, I drew, and now more are popping up and C. We wouldn’t have to try and make a paper chain, 6 million links long, which I’m not complaining about but, we could have done something with less glue and paper.

No one asked but here’s how ingo and elesa look/end up looking in the main timeline of the beta arceus emmet au (more info under cut bc i really wanna talk ab this au. Btw if you need me to tag or add a warning for something in there please let me know)

So After returning to unova everything seems fine: emmet has figured out how to disguise himself as a human using his powers, ingo slowly gets used to modern life again (and deals w his brother having a psychic connection w him bc of that one mistake emmet made), etc. until something happens, ingo gets horribly sick. No one knows how or why but he falls ill, and the doctors say he might not make it bc they’ve never seen something like this (insert something ab hisui here). Emmet… does not take this well, he just got his brother back and this time they might never be reunited. Eventually he gets a idea, and he gets to work finding Pokémon that might just help with this

Eventually he finds and catches several ghost type pokemon; he doesn’t need to catch a Litwick, chandelure will work the best with this plan. Then he does it, he uses the powers and abilities of many ghost Pokémon to assist him in making ingo like him; part pokemon god, part human

Of course there’s more to what ingo became than that. From what I understand (to my knowledge), there is no actual thing or creature that looks after the ghosts of Pokémon and/or humans. So that’s basically what ingo became in a sense. Which is important because not everyone can live forever and/or become gods. Elesa was bound to die at somepoint, and the brothers both knew this. So when she did ingo basically made sure her ghost was still around n such, which is why she mainly appears as a different form of yamask (I don’t think she was actually turned into one, it’s just a more convenient form then a barely existing ghost)

They’ve become sort of the cryptids of unova in a way. Because they sometimes just appear occasionally in human form and just, confuse literally everyone because they look like those three people who are gods and/or dead??? I think unovans get used to this after a while, but anyone whos not native to unova? Oh boy are they in for a treat when these strange people that appear out of nowhere look like they aren’t entirely human, and then anyone who’s a local will just go "oh yea the twins are basically gods and the woman is a ghost, the twins were also some of the strongest trainers in unova and the woman was a gym leader. They appear every now and then to see how things are going." And confuse non-locals even further

Theres also this strange house in anville town that many swear is haunted but no one actually goes in to prove it, or maybe they’re unable to go in? Who knows [they don’t :)]

I reported the person and their main blog (which also had a slur) but for fucks sake. (Them having a slur in their username is what made me even click on their blog int he first place btw)

The only reason why I don't do the DNI on posts is because like, it'll definitely bring me some heat in my ask box. Antis are fucking disgusting like that.

I think something that made me realize that most cishet men absolutely do not understand what women go through fear-wise on a daily basis was a conversation I had with someone who I rode the bus with in high school, who I'm calling J for the sake of identity protection. There was a guy, we'll call him stalker guy, who lived down the road from me. Like a 15 minute walk, maybe 5 minute drive if you're being leisurely about it. Stalker guy was a certified creep, openly talked about his sexual fantasies in public (especially around women/girls), was 18 dating a 16 year old, stalking his ex girlfriend (who was J's younger sister btw), even going so far as to appear on her property several times and get his friend to hack her phone several times when she blocked his numbers. He also tried to kidnap her at one point, leading to a physical fight between him and J that ended up with J needed several stitches.

So yeah, stalker guy was no joke. And he lived within walking distance of my house. And he knew that I had encouraged his ex to leave him. And I had been the target of his creepy sexualness in the past. And I stood at the bus stop outside my fucking house totally alone for at least 10 minutes every morning, often in the pitch dark. J knew all of this.

So one day I mentioned in passing to J that I was afraid of stalker guy and was met with, much to my surprise, "why? he's a loser". I totally faltered. I had no idea how this guy who had watched this entire situation unfold didn't realize what a vulnerable position I was in. I tried to explain that he was physically stronger than me and had reason to be upset with me, but J was completely dismissive. J, who was a boxer and had gotten his ass kicked by this creepy ass guy, didn't understand why a nonathletic 5'4'' girl was afraid of him.

And it made me realize that cishet guys, for the most part, don't live in fear of other cishet guys who are their peers. Reasonably, stalker guy had no power over me except maybe that he was taller and slightly more athletic. He shows up at my house, I call the police, he gets in trouble and isn't my problem anymore. Except that isn't what happens for women. We get ignored, mocked, or dismissed for showing fear. We have to be constantly on alert for dangerous people because no one is coming for us if something happens.
