could you do Kaidou Shun, Kuboyasu Aren, Ochaco Uraraka, and Tenya Iida with a band kid reader who really really REALLY likes music and their main love languages being quality time, physical touch, and acts of service? 99% of the time when they’re doing their own thing you can expect a pair of headphones on them and blocking out everything else going on, and sometimes does the song and dance with it as well if they know it, even they don’t know it very well. He definitely wants you to teach him so you guys can play togther <3 speaking of being together, the two of you are always together (like 2 peas in a pod lmao) You'll be blasting music in your headphones while he studies and you two look so cute! (His mom loves it) He was really flustered about physical touch in the beginning but now he can hold your hand without fainting! (Hes so cute omg) After a performance, he'll bring you pain meds, water, and maybe a towel if ur extra sweaty (i luv him sm) He doesn't laugh at your dancing because he sucks too P.S- He thinks you look super cute in your headphones ♡

Aren Kobayasu- i feel like he already knows how to play an instrument. Either a wind/horn instrument like a trombone, the drums, or a fucking electric guitar. I KNOW y'all play together. That's one of the main things you guys do together. You two definitely make playlists for each other as well. He buys you new headphones when he notices yours being affected by how long you've had them (such a sweetie) He does get a little embarrassed by PDA sometimes, but mostly, he's all over you (and you're not complaining) He laughs at your dancing but then he'll dance worse than you lol P.S- He thinks you look goofy in your headphones but in an endearing way ♡

Ochaco Uraraka- she used to think she couldn't play any instruments because her quirk got in the way :( but you got her those weird gloves that only have some fingers and now she can!! :D She supports you so much, she's your #1 fan! You'll practice and she'll just sit there and listen before showering you in kisses and praise <3  I feel like she wears headphones a lot too, but not as much as you do. (No one wears them as much as you do) She definitely loves hugging you, but won't hug you after a performance because you're sweaty lol. While you're performing, shes screaming and holding up a sign that she made for you 😭 shes so cutee! She can dance well because of the performance with the class she did, so you look extra goofy next to her ♡

Tenya Iida- If you play, perform, and listen to a kind of alt style of music, I feel like he'd call it satanic lmaoo HE WOULD CALL YOU A HOOLIGAN HAHSH But if you enjoy classical music or mainstream music, he is on one knee immediately. Someone he can show off to his parents! He doesn't wear headphones because he's proud of his classical and mainstream music, so he doesn't hide it. Still gets flustered over holding your hand in public lol (super soft kisses AHH) He will definitely do anything for you, you have this man wrapped around your damn finger 💀 he loves study dates with omg, I just know it! CANNOT DANCE FOR THE LIFE OF HIM, HE HAS NOT IMPROVED

I have thoughts and feels.

1. I went into this knowing that General Kirigan/Aleksander Morozova was the villain. But, um, bitch where? Perhaps it’s in the books, but all I see is a man pushed to the extremes by the prejudice and hatred of others, even his own mother. I see a psychologically abused boy with an emotionally-distant at best mother. I see a young man trying to do his best for his people, to save them, to try and make them safe, only for everything he was trying to do be torn down and made into something vile by people who refused to let go of their prejudice and hatred and fear. 

2. Is he a manipulative ho and kind of a dick? Yeah, but he’s also a centuries years old man used to operating in the dark, power-behind-the-throne style. You don’t live in that kind of setting for as long as he did without becoming what he is. He survived as long as he did, became as politically powerful as he did, because he became a liar, because he became manipulative, because he learned to plan with one face and speak with another, molding himself into whatever the audience wanted or needed to see. But, at the truth of him, everything he did, he did to keep his kind safe.

3. Baghra is a just a large bag of dicks, and I’m sorry for any fans of hers. SO MANY THINGS could have ended differently if she just, I don’t know, maybe supported her fucking son? Based on the flashback, she weaponized him, isolated him even from others of their kind, constantly ripped down his hope and his dreams, and then has the gall to be disappointed when he goes down the wrong path? 

4. Alina makes me so mad at the end of episode 5. At this point she has a decision: trust the ancient lady that keeps hitting her, mocking her, and ridiculing her OR trust the man who on every level kept checking in with her to make sure he didn’t overstep. His body language is open and non-aggressive. He puts himself down to her level or raises her up, time and time again. I’m guessing a lot of this is down to the actor and how he portrays the role, but it’s practically written on his face in every scene that he’s so fucking whipped. The fact that she didn’t even consider getting his side of the story tells me a lot about her, especially with how quickly she falls back into line with Mal as soon as he finds her. She didn’t love him - she noticed Aleksander’s affection for her and decided to use it, use him. Partly as revenge against the boy she did love and thought abandoned her, and partly to make her life easier in the Little Palace. After all, no one’s going to fuck with the general’s sweetheart, whether she’s half-Shu or not. 

5. Major points to her though for pointing out and sticking to her guns on the lack of consent regarding the collaring situation. I love that she flat out tells him that he maybe could have had her cooperation had he been fully honest with her from the start - though honestly how does one really disclose that kind of information? Is that first date territory? “Sorry luv, I’m actually a quasi-immortal being of indeterminate age  - at least a few hundred, possibly more but I’m not admitting to anything - who is directly responsible for that terrible monstrosity ripping apart the nation you grew up in and yeah it was an accident, but I would greatly like to make it not-an-accident and find a way to make use of it.” How do you even begin that conversation?

6. I’m actually kind of mad that absolutely NO ONE at any point in time thanks him for what he’s done and what he’s doing? Like, before him, all grisha were basically treated the same way we see the Fjerdans’ treating them - something to be hunted down with extreme prejudice. Under his ‘rule’ they grew up in comfort with others of their kind, casually mingling with nobility, knowing that if they are hurt or talked down to or anything, their General will fucking butcher things in their name. They are well-fed, well clothed, and protected as much as he can.

Iwa would be wide eyed and go ‘wow’. He’d definitely stare, but in a good way because he’s 100% admiring the way you look with this style. There’s just no hiding that admiring look on his face, he can’t even if he tries tbh. He just thinks it’s so mf cool. All of them are pretty protective in their own rights, I feel? The difference would be how they deal with the thing or person making you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

I feel like Iwa would have no qualms being a sort of shield between you and that problem. If someone’s bothering you, he would step in between u and the person/people and bring you away from them AFTER (respectfully) glaring at them and telling them they’re making things uncomfortable for everyone. He’s quite observant too, having dealt with Oikawa’s personality and habits for a lot of his life, so he would be able to tell when you need his protection and when you can handle yourself. Tbh even when you can handle yourself, he’ll already be inching towards you, wanting to be by your side just in case it turns ugly. And if it ever turns ugly (which is fucked up because why tf would anyone wanna fight Iwa when he’s packing all those muscles??), ya know he won’t be fucking around. He may be a respectful man, but that doesn’t mean he won’t twist the person’s arm with a little more force than necessary if they tried to do shit to u. After the mf’s taken care of, he’ll take you some place quiet and make sure you’re alright, feeling safe and comforted by treating you softer than usual. Will also bring you your favourite snacks to help you ease your nerves and end the night on a better note. Overall, 10/10 boyfriend because your comfort and safety means a lot to him uwu <3

Atsumu would probably veeeery publically embarrass them by calling them out, and you know his words cut deeeeeep. He’ll be keeping a hand on you throughout the day/night, that’s for sure, until you’re home again. Just that touch of his to make sure you’re by his side and doing alright.

Bo would probably get angry (whether in a cute pouty way or in an intense anger would depend on the situation), unintentionally call them out (which would be hella embarrassing for the other person bc god they made BOKUTO angry??), and then he would just start trying to make sure you’re okay. He’d start being really touchy like cupping your face, hugging you from all angles, & etc. He’ll bring you home asap if the situation calls for it or if you ask him to or if the person isn’t gone from the space, but would probably stay if you tell him it’s alright and you’re okay now.

I think the both of them are protective in their own rights, but something about Iwa being really perceptive and having that strength and reliability to his personality that would probably make you feel the safest (based on yours and his traits).

I can also see him eating a lot with you on your food trips. Sure, his diet is pretty balanced, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like to eat, and especially on cheat days he’ll happily indulge in the more ‘unhealthy’ foods with you.

I also don’t think he’ll be trying to control your diet, but maybe tell you stuff like ‘eat more veges/protein/etc.’ if you don’t eat properly. He cares for you and your health is important to him too. But if your diet is pretty good and balanced as is, then he’ll be a little more relaxed knowing you’re not surviving on only junk foods and sodas lol

I can see him being a great listener too, always nodding along and taking in what you ramble to him. Giving comments and insights too if he can. And if he doesn’t have the capacity or energy for that (most probably bc work was draining or he isn’t having a good day), he’d tell you straight up (if you didn’t catch the physical clues he displays). He’s also great with holding you back on your more dangerous and rash and potentially harmful impulses, like the reliable figure that gives you good reasons and talks you out of reeeeaaally bad decisions, but he’s also a whole Gemini so he’ll indulge in your impulses with you more often than you think heh heh

That’s a great trait for all of the boys tbh, because all 3 of them needs someone like that due to their personalities.

Atsumu would understand that you’re not playing mind games and he wouldn’t then try to play it back or burst into flames. Bo would be thankful because he can just take your words as is. And that’s the same for Iwa too. While he’s observant and can probably read between the lines no problem, straight forwardness just makes things easier for him because he’s pretty straight forward too. And I feel that if he can count on you for that, then he’ll be probably allow himself to rely on you more.

If you praise them, they’ll know you mean it too and they’ll be real happy about it uwu

I'm empathetic + love comforting others!

Another great attribute for all 3 of them. Bo & Atsumu melts in a more obvious way (and in the moment) when you comfort them and when you empathize with them, but Iwa? It’s in the way he squeezes your hand right after, the look in his eyes are soft and so is his grateful smile. It’s in the way he hugs you later in bed, curving into you like a cat, arms secure around you, and he whispers a very tender ‘thank you’. It’s in the way he kisses you good morning the day after, hand on your cheek as if he’s holding the world in it, and he feels like he is. I’d say it’s more quiet with Iwa’s display of gratitude, but it’s just as loud as the other two, there’s no doubt about that.

Your outgoing and naturally flirty self would probably capture all 3 of their hearts, with Iwa putting up a little more fight than the rest (he doesn’t take it as him being special, but falls for your sweet words regardless bc he likes u so much).

Bo & Atsumu would satisfy your love language more, both looking like they’re very comfortable in showing you they love you in that way. Iwa might be a more muted than the 2, but if y’all are dating, he’d always have a hand on you somehow. Whether its holding your hand, a hand on your back, on your cheek, & etc. Like he just finds a way to always have contact with you, especially when he finds out your love language if physical touch. He’ll put in the effort, that’s for sure.

Atsumu might not do as well with your emotional trait? He doesn’t mince his words, and even if he tries to be softer with you, it’s not 100% that he’ll change that part of himself. Being energetic meshes pretty well with Bo bc he’s pretty energetic himself. Iwa himself has a lot of energy, so he would most definitely keep up with your energy no problem.

SKYHILL, actually it was released several years ago, but I played it for the first time this year.

The objective of the game is simple: escape from a building where monsters roam and the game content is very compact.  I can say this game made me rediscover the root of fun in games.  There is a world and a storyline, but very little information is presented beyond what is necessary.  However, I was immersed in this world while playing.

It's an indie game with a much smaller scale, but I felt the same excitement when I compared it to the big titles of today.

[Question 2: Which entertainment content released in 2020 impressed you the most?]

IT'S THE END: When you see it, it's over. (DVD)

A horror movie masterpiece released in theaters in 1990.  This is a sequel to the remake.

As I was impressed with the first one, I am interested in remakes, but they never surpass the original.  In fact, the first remake only left me with the impression of "I see, this is how it would be with the current expression."  I had the impression that the fear that had been growing in my brain because of the lack of information was simply visualized.

However, this sequel to the first film has pushed the envelope with its visual technology as if to say "Well, then.  Of course, the logic behind the construction of fear is solid, but there is also a lot of 'isn't this kind of situation scary'?"  I'm not sure if this is the right sequel.

Whether or not it's the right sequel, I'm not sure, but I was honestly struck by it.

[Question 3: Who do you personally have your eyes on in 2020?]

Director Zack Snyder: I genuinely love the movie "Man of Steel".

I am personally excited that Zack Snyder, the director of Man of Steel, will be re-directing Justice League under his original vision.

[Question 4: What are your aspirations for 2021, and what is your message to 4Gamer readers?]

In recent years, most of the games that interest me have been in the indie world, and the games made by companies seem to be lacking in energy, except for big titles.

As a gamer, I'm looking forward to playing games on platforms that evolve year by year, but I think the number of manufacturers who can keep up with their production is decreasing.

I want to make interesting things, and I want everyone to play them.  In order to achieve this in a fulfilling environment, I think it is necessary to have a sense of values that are not influenced by the times.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

I wanted to write a strategy for Fight of Animals, but it was released in December 2019, so I gave up.... So, without further ado... I have the impression that this title appeared like a Comet among the titles released this year.

I think it's great that they were able to release this title with a new world view in the midst of all the existing titles.

The pop design, music, and gameplay are all very well put together.

The game itself is simple at first glance, but there are many ingenious ways to make it easy to understand, and I was impressed with many of them.

[Question 2: Which entertainment content released in 2020 impressed you the most?]

Midnight Swan.

I don't know hot to describe it, but I remember feeling very emotional when I finished watching it.  I don't know how to explain it because I can't digest it well, but I think it's a good movie.  I also recommend "The Naked Director" and "The Way of the Beast" by Eiji Uchida, although they are completely different in style.

[Question 3: Who do you personally have your eyes on in 2020?]

NiziU.  I think a lot of people were cheered up after the Corona disaster.  I was hooked from Rainbow Pro and started checking out Twice.  It's great to see how hard they are working and growing.  I'm personally a fan of Mii-chan (although I want to support all of them), so I hope she comes back from her health problems.

I hope she will come back and give her best performance without hurrying or rushing.  I will probably cry.

[Question 4: What are your aspirations for 2021, and what is your message to 4Gamer readers?]

The year 2020 is the year that Granblue Fantasy Versus was released and kept running.  This title has entered Season 2, and as it is the middle of the season, development will continue.  There are still more things to be announced, so I hope you will continue to enjoy the game.

This year, the Corona Disaster has changed our development system, the environment in which we play, and many other things, and it's been a year of constant heartache.

There were other great titles such as "Ghost of Tsushima", but I dared to choose a remake.  Since the original FF7 was such a masterpiece, it has a strong "memory correction" effect, and I'm sure there will be a variety of opinions such as "it's not like this" or "it's not like that".  But in my opinion, this is a work that surpasses the memory correction in a good way.  In other words, please continue the story on... as soon as possible.  If you don't (Square-Enix), you'll be in a situation where memory corrections will be added memory corrections, which is incomprehensible.

[Question 2: Which entertainment content released in 2020 impressed you the most?]

I was shocked by "TENET".  It is directed by Christopher Nolan, who I love, and this is another film that has caused a lot of controversy in many ways.  The setting and expressions are wonderful, and I apologize for my lack of ability to contradict, but all I can say is "awesome".  Every time I saw it, I made new discoveries, and it was a work that I went to the theater several times for, after a long time.

[Question 3: Who do you personally have your eyes on in 2020?]

Director Hideaki Anno.  It is rumored that Shin Evangelion will be the end of the story, but since I was a 'direct hit generation' (impacted audience of that era) of.... Evangelion, I have a lot to think about.  If I may add one more person to the list, it would be Koki Yoshimune from the Muv-Luv series.  I personally love Muv-Luv, so I'm really interested in the Muve-Luve Alternative anime and other content development.

[Question 4: What are your aspirations for 2021, and what is your message to 4Gamer readers?]

read a lot also! you can learn so much by absorbing yourself in other author’s styles, tone, syntax, etc. [i personally am not a big fanfic reader but i do read a lot of novels and i think it helps a lot with my writing!]

Chapter 24 of SFV

Chapter 24 - Day 2: Passing Ships

(2:50pm)

"Here we are, Stoppable troops! South Dakota!" Kim exclaimed as the Stoppable-mobile crossed the state line from Nebraska to South Dakota. "We are going to enjoy a full week of family time and good turkey!"

She then asked her husband.

"Ron, can you check and see if the lemon squares are still good in the back?"

Ron peered his head and saw the container that had the squares.

"They're good so far, KS!" Ron replied.

"Good! We need to make sure they do not get smushed up by any means."

"So that means we're here?" Justin asked from the back seat.

"Nope!" Kim said with a smile, "We still have about 3 1/2 hours of driving left."

"AWWWWWWW!"

Both the Stoppable kids moaned in the back seat, for they were going to have to deal with nothing but the boring South Dakota prairie all around them.

(French Narrator: 30 minutes later)

The Stoppable-mobile continued its way onward up US 83 north to get to Murdo, which was an hour away from their current point. They had just passed the small 1,000-soul town of Mission.

Kim put her hands on the steering wheel, her fingers gripping the rubber. It was relatively peaceful in the van with the rest of the Stoppables sound asleep It seems that all of the issues of the first day and the whole issue with the camper's tire today was behind them.

All of a sudden, she then heard the motor of a convertible. She had not seen a car on 83 for a good solid 15 miles.

Huh? Who could that be in this patch of God-forsaken-knows where?

Looking behind her, Kim saw the convertible, red in color, coming from behind. It was going at least the speed limit, which was 65 miles an hour. The motor of the car didn't wake up the other Stoppables because they were in a deep sleep. The convertible finally caught up to the minivan in the other lane because a) there were no other cars around for miles and b) there was no solid line, so other cars could pass the Stoppable-mobile.

Kim then studied the well-built young man. She estimated him to be in his late-20s, early 30s, He was very well-built, toned, and muscular and was smiling at her. He was also wearing a white tank top to show off the said muscular frame of his and baggy jeans that were a size too big for him, for it showed off his green tartan boxers and he was wearing said jeans below his buttocks.

But the two physical traits that were a dead giveaway to whom he was were a) his blue eyes and b) those frosted tips that he still styled on his hair.

It can't be!

Kim couldn't believe her eyes. Deep within the recesses of her memory bank, she finally knew who he was.

It was none other than her old crush: Joshua Wendell Mankey. This was the first time in almost 13 years that the two had seen each other face to face.

Kim exactly recalled the last time she had seen...or heard about...Josh.

(late-March 2006)

It seemed so quiet and peaceful within the hallowed halls at Middleton High. Kim, a junior at that point like the rest of her friends, grabbed her books from her locker. She didn't have to worry much with cheer practice now that both football and basketball seasons were over so practices were scaled back to just twice a week as opposed to four times a week. But something else occupied the student body at the high school, a four-letter word that elicits beautiful dresses and young boys on the verge of becoming men in tuxedos in a matter of the next three weeks.

Prom.

Everyone else,especially the cheer squad, was trying to figure out who was going to date whom. The star QB, Brick Flagg, was absolutely no contest. It was Bonnie whom was going to take him to the prom, though she wished he would stop staring at the girl with the giant hoops at the mall. As for Jessica, she was with Steve Foley. And for Tara, she had Josh Mankey by her side. For Kim, though, she was SOL. Her missions of saving the world from maniacal villains with global conquest dreams left her very little time in the way of dating. Bonnie, of course, mocked Kim endlessly for this, but the redhead usually ignored her banter.

Jessica, that day, came up to Kim and asked, "Heya, Kim!"

"Hey, Jess! What's the sitch?" Kim asked.

"Oh, you know that we have that chemistry test coming up on Friday, right?" Jess questioned.

"Yeah, I recall Barkin saying something about that. No need to worry, though. I'm going to ace it!" Kim exclaimed.

"Well, I got a text from Ron saying that he may need some help studying." Jess said, pulling out a text from her flipphone of Ron asking for help.

"That's so not like him." Kim said, "He's usually...how do I put it in his words...chillaxin' to a Scamper and Bitey marathon or challenging Rufus to a nacho stacking contest at Bueno Nacho."

"He may have had a change of heart as of late." Jess replied. "He and Tara need help in Chemistry class: Ron from a D to a C and Tara from a C to a B. So I have come up with the idea of a study group to help the both of them out."

"Yes..." Kim replied, knowing that one of the only classes Tara was struggling in her junior year was Chemistry. "...that is a very excellent idea! Why don't we gather at my house for Thursday night before that test on Friday!"

"Sure! What about 6pm?" Jess asked for a time.

"Sounds spankin' to me!" Kim replied, "And can you send a text to her, Monique, Zita and Felix about it as well!

"Sure do!" Jess replied.

(A couple of days later)

"Do we have everyone on board?" Kim asked. It was Thursday evening in front of her house and the sun was going down.

"I'm more than ready to take on Barkin's Chemistry test tomorrow..." Ron said, holding his chemistry book, "...I hope." Rufus, from his pocket, was holding the periodic table.

"I think we do." Zita said. She looked around and saw herself, Felix, Kim, Ron, Monique and Jessica.

"Wait, girl, we're missing one!" Monique exclaimed, "Where's Tara?"

"Dunno...come to think of it, I haven't seen her at school all day." Jess added with concern for her cheer friend.

Kim then felt a rumble from her cell.

"I'll get that!" she said, opening up her phone.

It was a text from Tara saying: Kim, meet me in the treehouse at my house. Bring only Ron and Monique with you.

"Guess me, Ron and Mon will have to head to Tara's to see what's the matter with her." Kim said.

"But what about us?" Zita asked, looking at Felix and Jess.

"We'll meet you three at my room." Kim replied, "Right now, Tara's sitch is more important...whatever it is..."

(10 minutes later)

Kim, Ron, and Monique came to the Queen house. Monique was the first to knock on the door.

Mrs. Amelda Queen opened it.

"Oh heya, Mrs. Queen!" Monique said, waving her hand. "Is Tara around?"

Amelda said, sighing, "The poor thing has been in her tree house ever since last night. Me and Paul were trying to figure out what it was, but all we heard was sobbing from there."

"We'll investigate what it is that's bugging her!" Kim replied. "If there is anyone in our group that has known Tara longer, it's me."

The trio then reached the backyard where Tara's treehouse was.

"Tara? You up there?" Kim asked.

Her question was answered by the sound of sobs.

Recognizing the sound, the trio climbed up the stairs to where Tara was at.

"Tara? What's the sitch?" Kim asked.

Tara's normally carefully prepared wavy blond hair was all messed up. Tears were streaming down her face. She had eaten very little since last night.

"Hey...Kim..." the blonde cheerleader said with a sniffle, trying to wipe away her tars. She then tried to articulate a name.

"J...J...J...J..."

Tara then finally screamed it out loud.

"JOSH MANKEY BROKE UP WITH MEEEEEEEEE!"

She cried loudly into Kim's arms.

(5 minutes later)

After her crying subsided, Kim gave Tara another tissue. The latter blew into it and tossed it aside. Tissues were all over the place around the treehouse.

"He was kissing another girl during Spring Break while me and the family took him to the beach. Apparently Josh was more interested in girls wearing bikinis than my one-kini..." Tara explained, tears still streaming down her eyes, "When I confronted him about this at the hotel, he told me that our relationshp was done and told me to kiss a horse's butthole, to put it mildly. He transferred to Lowerton High after that."

Kim shuddered, "And to think...I had a crush on that blue-eyed cheat!"

(end of flashback)

And now, all this time later, the 'cheat' that she was referring to was now driving on a US highway, all muscular and making goo-goo eyes at her.

Kim then looked at the now-muscular Josh and then back at her husband, still asleep, picking his nose and eating the mucus in his mouth, unaware of what was going on with his wife.

Heya, Kim! It's been a very long while! Josh mouthed without articulating any sound.

Kim, an expert at reading lips, replied sternly, also not making a sound to wake up Ron.

What the Hell do you want, Josh? I do not have time for this! I am on vacation.

Wanna spend some time with me? he said silently.

Sorry, Josh, I'm taken! Kim replied with a sarcastic smirk, showing off her wedding band, Thanks for the offer though!

We'll see about that! Josh said with a wink of his eye as he pulled away from the Stoppable-mobile. The license plate, California by the design of it, had the plate of LUV ME on it.

Kim just gave a look of disgust and kept on driving the Stoppable-mobile.

ok this is gonna be a long response lol

anon i’m so glad u asked omg… it was hard to narrow it downto 5 but i think we got there!! ten really is an outstanding dancer and i still don’t think he has enough recognition for it (even among nctzens!!) so lets go:

1. we’re starting off predebut this was the FIRST EVER video i saw of ten and i was like…. entranced . impressive bearing in mind i had no interest in dance previously. his hair and outfit is phenomenal like we NEED more ten in shorts again i miss it he used to wear shorts all the time. and he looks so happy!! also when he messed up in the 2nd verse with that huge smile.. cutie

2. hit the stage!!!! a lot of people talk about his devil’s stage which is understandable because ten acting possessed is hot as fuck but personally i prefer this one. he did win this round! obviously his dance is top notch but what really shines through here is ten’s acting and his facial expressions… he plays the character so brilliantly and that’s what puts it on the next level. also the moment where the music stops and he points to the ceiling. powerful. possibly my favourite ten performance:

3. dream in a dreeeeeaaaammm omg ok. what makes this performance special was that we had to wait for ages to get a performance due to the fact it’s a station song and ten’s knee injury (but we forgive his knee it protected him from military enlistment). now diad is my fave song but that’s a whole other post so we’re leaving that. the choreo for this song is so so so so beautiful so opulent so elegant so exquisite so artistic. just look at the way it ebbs and flows and blooms. its so relaxing but so emotional at the same time. and ten floors it

4. ok finally we have NEW HEROES much more energetic and also like… extremely difficult idk how he didn’t break something doing this. there are so many movements throughout that he does so cleanly and sharply!! and he blends them so effortlessly with smoother movements luv it is beautiful x . also this is the dance practice bc the fancams i found are too zoomed in and u really do need to see his whole body for this one. idk how he can do this many things at once

5. last but not least we have lovely!! if you haven’t seen rainbow v, ten and sicheng actually choreographed this themselves and man did they deliver. ok there are several points to make about this one, firstly i love the style of dance they used here not only because it suits the song very well, but it’s also sicheng’s main(? or best?) style of dance and you can see him shine here much more than the other choreos he’s been a part of. also the way they portrayed a story through the dance came across so well and it’s so so dynamic and compelling. i hate sm ent with every fiber of my being but i’m glad they let wayv showcase their artistic freedom within this project

What is Afrocentric hair and skin care?

There’s a difference between general black hair and skin care vs. Afrocentric hair and skin care. A lot of mainstream brands sold in stores targeted at black hair and beauty are designed FOR black people but aren’t made BY black people and/or don’t contain ingredients from our own cultures.

You should always pick the products in your price range and that are good for your hair and your body! But it’s also helpful to be an informed consumer when choosing between hundreds of beauty brands - and unfortunately, the information isn’t always readily available. So here’s a simple guide to Afrocentric hair and skin care to help you put the best nature can provide into your body while also supporting and giving back to our own communities.

What’s good for my hair and skin?

Here’s some tips and general guidelines that I’ve learned so far through research and practice on my hair and skin hair journey!

1. The more natural, the better. Now, personally, I wouldn’t say this about everything in life! Pharmaceuticals can be life-saving, and I don’t think all natural or traditional remedies should be used in place of prescribed medications. However, when it comes to the regular care of your skin and hair - the fewer toxins and chemicals are absorbed by your body, the better!

2. As I’ve done more research, I’ve discovered that in most cases when it comes to all-natural ingredients, what’s good for your hair is also what’s good for your skin - and vice versa. Most natural ingredients can be used to hydrate, heal, protect, soothe, and strengthen your skin and your hair!

3. One size does not fit all. On your own journey to care for your skin and hair, you’ll want to experiment with different oils, butters, creams, and products to find out which types, combinations, and amounts work best for your skin and hair types! Find out if you have normal, dry, oily, combination, or sensitive skin to get a sense of what your skin care needs are. Knowing your hair type is also helpful for figuring out what types of products will keep it the healthiest and strongest.

4. Always read the ingredients list on the labels of any products you purchase. Whether you’re buying a supposedly single-ingredient product or something that lists three natural ingredients on its front label, always look at the fine print and check the official list. For instance, SheaMoisture is an excellent and popular black-owned skincare brand, but unfortunately, many of their products do include chemicals alongside the good stuff. And if you don’t check the labels, you might wind up with a “99% aloe vera gel” that contains mostly water.

Blade Runner 2049 Non-Spoiler Review

Let me begin by saying that I absolutely love Blade Runner. It is one of the few movies, with The Godfather and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, where no matter how many times I watch it, I remain practically silent. I grew up seeing Blade Runner on random lists of “Greatest Sci-Fi Movies of All Time”, etc. Needless to say, I was practically indoctrinated into loving the movie, before I ever even saw it. When I finally did, I bought the special Blu-Ray 30th Anniversary Collector’s Edition, with the The Final Cut, both the Original Theatrical and International Theatrical Cuts, and the 1991 Director’s Cut. I watched them all. Back to back to back to back. Personally, my favorite is the Original Theatrical, but I see why people prefer different ones. Again, the most important thing to remember about film is that film is subjective. While there are some objective rules about what is good or bad, most of critique is subjective.

So, this brings me about to watching Blade Runner 2049 last night. Again, I had been ridiculously excited about this movie since it was first announced, and my excitement only built when following announcements came, like Denis Villeneuve being named as Director, Ryan Gosling taking the main role, Harrison Ford’s return as Deckard, and especially Roger Deakins as Cinematographer. With each trailer that came out, just more and more excitement, to where I could hardly contain myself. My sister and her family came to visit over the weekend, so I didn’t take the chance to watch it until Sunday night. Now, Blade Runner 2049 officially has a 2 hour and 44 minute run time, according to IMDB.com, which from what I’ve read, seems quite a daunting task to most movie-watchers. It definitely, to me at least, did not feel anywhere nearly that long. I’ve read several other reviews and listened to several podcasts that have already talked about it, and it seems to be the general consensus that it felt too long and bloated, that Villeneuve was able to just pack in as much as he wanted without restraint, making a too long, boring, movie. I completely disagree. Not only did the time fly by for me, but I was fully wrapped into the movie from practically the first shot (the opening of an eye, a brilliant callback to the original film) to the very end.

Another major complaint that I’ve read online is several writers criticizing Blade Runner 2049 for having a “woman problem”. Now, a lot of what I’m about to say could probably be discounted by most people holding up that argument, seeing that I am a straight white male, but I think that that doesn’t provide nearly the bias that others claim. For me, there were some problems with female representation, but not necessarily the complaints they’re referencing. (The article in question is titled “Blade Runner 2049 Has a Woman Problem”, read from http://movieweb.com/blade-runner-2049-woman-problem/). The first claim this article makes is that Blade Runner 2049 fails the infamous Bechdel Test. For those that don’t immediately recall, the Bechdel Test is commonly used “standard” for testing to see whether movies have deep female characters, based off of three criteria: (1) the movie has at least two women in it, (2) who talk to each other, (3) about something besides a man. If we use this test, I will admit. Blade Runner 2049 does have multiple female characters, and some do converse with each other, the third part is never fulfilled. However, despite the article’s claims that the women in the film fall into male fetish archetypes, I disagree. Robin Wright, as Lieutenant Joshi, shows actual empathy toward Ryan Gosling’s K, while retaining a toughened exterior. Within the world of the story, this makes sense, seeing that she is a Lieutenant within the Los Angeles Police Department, a position which demands a certain amount of toughness. Also, yes, she does drink whisky several times throughout the movie. As did M. Emmet Walsh’s Bryant in the original film, who has a very similar relationship with Deckard as Joshi does K. (Note: If I remember correctly, Bryant doesn’t actually drink in the movie. It is, however, heavily implied that when he pours the two drinks in his office, both drinks were not meant for Deckard.) The article also mentions that Joshi sexualizes K, which I see not as a fault of Joshi’s character, but rather a well-made choice that highlights more complexity, not only of the relationship between Joshi and K, but of the world of 2049 Los Angeles altogether.

The article also briefly discusses the other three main women of the film, Sylvia Hoeks’s Luv, Ana de Armas’s, Joi, and Mackenzie Davis’s Mariette. Luv is described as “a tough-as-nails femme fatale in heels, coldly flirtatious, deadly murderous”, which she is. Believably so. Having seen the original as many times as I have, Luv reminds me an awful lot of a more advanced version of Daryl Hannah’s Pris, a cold, calculating killer. It is also mentioned that Hoeks kisses Gosling’s K in the climax, which the article calls “laughably improbable and out-of-nowhere ...straight out of an S&M dungeon.” Again, I have to disagree with the writer. The kiss, which is delivered at a pivotal moment of the climax, has, to me, a sense of the departing embrace between respectful enemies. (I can explain more, but I want to stay as far away from spoilers as I can for this writing. My next one will most likely go more in depth). Switching to Ana de Armas’s Joi, the article refers to her as “a purchasable housewife style AI program whose greater yearnings all revolve around her devotion” to K. However, I think this claim misses the most important point of Joi, in that she is supposed to be nothing more than a caricature. Joi is an AI program, one early in the eventual evolution of holographic entities. Thinking within the world of the film, the complaint that she is not more fleshed out would be similar to complaining that a Nexus-1 or Nexus-2 Replicant was not fleshed out. They aren’t because they are the early stages. This is even addressed within the movie, as Mackenzie Davis’s Mariette tells her “...inside you, and there’s not as much there as you think.” Speaking of Mackenzie Davis, I actually agree with the article in that the movie “criminally underuses… [her] as a “hooker with a heart of gold,” a movie trope so tiresome and old school it’s almost nostalgic.” Again, I actually agree with this sentiment, and I think it’s one of the very few actual problems I had with the movie.

The next main problem that the article discusses is that Harrison Ford was brought back, while his co-star from the original Sean Young was left behind. Her character, Rachael, is in the movie, though off-screen. It is established rather early in the film that her character died seemingly shortly after the events of the first movie, during childbirth. This revelation is the driving force for the rest of the movie, as K is trying to find the child, due to personal curiosity, while Jared Leto’s Niander Wallace sends Sylvia Hoeks’s Luv to tail K, then bring the child back to him, feeling the need to make Replicants that can produce their own offspring. Rachael’s presence is felt throughout the movie, and even through CGI de-aging, she does make an important surprise cameo in the movie.

So, I’ve realized that I started this as a conversation/review of Blade Runner 2049, and have spent most of my time rebutting an article that I only somewhat disagree with. This may have not been the way I wanted to go about doing this, but it also let me get out some of my first and heaviest thoughts about the film. Now, we go on to my just rambling about a film I absolutely loved, but do have some issues with. First, something I wasn’t overly fond of. I know Villeneuve is a brilliant director, and very few people can tell a story like him and Roger Deakins. That being said, I was left a bit confused by the amount of nudity within the film. I’m not sure necessarily that it was gratuitous, and I’ll feel more certain about that after a second or third rewatch, but it was a bit overwhelming at times. (Particularly a giant holographic nude Joi, though I see why that scene in particular is important.) However, in dealing with nudity, this movie has one of the craziest and most interesting love scenes that I have ever seen. *Mild Spoilers Ahead, But Only Kind Of* There is a scene where K brings home Davis’s Mariette so that he and Joi can be together, physically. In doing so, de Armas’s holographic Joi “syncs” with Mariette, but the sync is slightly off. As such, while they are beginning to kiss and undress, Mariette and Joi seem to phase back and forth, as well as their hands are slightly differently placed on K. Like I said, it was crazy to watch, but definitely interesting. (Also note: very minimal nudity during that scene, almost as if Villeneuve is careful to point out the purity or innocence of this, compared to the lewdness of the streets.)

Overall, I absolutely loved Blade Runner 2049. For those of you looking for an answer as to whether Deckard is a Replicant or not, don’t worry. You don’t get an answer. For those of wondering if K is a Replicant, don’t worry. They tell you he is almost immediately. For those of you that may be worried that the studio made Gosling do a voiceover narration throughout the film, don’t worry. They didn’t. (I love the Original Theatrical Cut of the first movie, with Ford’s narration, but I  definitely think it was for the best that it was not done for this movie). Also, this movie plays out a bit more of just a regular Detective Story rather than more of the classic Film Noir that the original did, but it pays tribute to the original perfectly, without drowning itself in nostalgia or sequel teases. To sum up, I think that if you enjoyed the original, or if you just want a movie that’s different from most things you see, definitely give Blade Runner 2049 a shot. Hopefully you’ll have a better movie-going experience than I did. Side Note: there were two 15-16 year old girls that sat directly in front of me, there only because “Oh my god! Ryan Gosling is so hot!”, who were on their phones almost the entire time, and I still absolutely loved this movie.

P.S. - I feel I can’t talk too much about the main cast without ruining potential spoilers, so expect a much more in-depth spoiler-filled review coming later this week. I might even go watch it again, to reply and possibly counter some of my own arguments I made here, who knows?).
