*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who debuted as a hero just after he graduated high school. He had always looked up to heroes and it was his dream to become one. He always liked the idea of saving a person and seeing the relieved faces all because of him.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who felt excited even though he was hurt while rescuing a civilian for the first time, getting them to safety and loving the “thank you’s” and smiles he received.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who feels accomplished the more he saves civilians and sends the more villains to prison, where they should be. You can imagine the surprise the night he fought a villain and did not even have the heart to do any damage to them.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who later in his debut, is known all around the country for the amount of innocent people he has saved. He is praised everywhere he walks and is always somehow there when villains seem to be lurking. The people all love him. How could they not? He’s so sweet, he saves everyone, and he’s rather good looking too!

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who saved a civilian one night in the alleyways as he hears sounds of struggle, seeing the two figures as he throws his daggers, the blades pinning the culprit and into their flesh as a soft hiss leaves their lips, their eyes flickering over to his as the once trapped civilian thanks him and runs away.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who walks over to you, scanning you over as he takes in the blood trickling down your skin and oh…even under that disguise you sure are cute. He sees the way your lips form into a snarl and how you struggle against the blades, one in your side and the other trapping your suit to the wall behind you. Only a small laugh escapes him at the sight. Feisty too, huh?

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who sighs as he frowns a bit, seeing the blood down your side and arm. In his sweet voice, he offers to help you out, only cocking a brow at your refusal but eventually you give in and now, here you both are, in his humble abode, where he’s stitching you up and bandaging you.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who after that, lets you go and as a consequence, sees more of you often during those nights. During these many nights together, he’s gotten to know you..he might even say that he’s gained some…feelings? That’s absurd, he’s a hero and you’re a villain! He’s dedicated his life to locking villains up. And yet..he can’t do a single thing to you.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who meets even your villain friends and..well, was invited to do what they do. With you, he’s learned so much..he’s felt more exhilarated during the nights together than when saving people. Of course, he wears a different disguise during these nights. He’s till the sweet, caring hero they all love during the day. But the night? My, he’s made a name for himself with you and your friends.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who, one night, while committing crime with you and your friends, sees your friend being just a bit more touchy while you were rolling your eyes and trying to leave the friends grasp. He didn’t say, but he felt a twinge of jealousy in his stomach as you two interacted.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who, as the night drags on, finally loses his patience, a snarl on his own lips as he ‘confronts’ the friend, trapping them to a wall as he pressed one of his blades to the person’s throat while the rest of the group walked on, and he threatened them. “Look, you may have known them longer. But you better fuck off, they’re mine. Got it?”

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who mockingly smiled as the person nodded and he retracted his blade, walking off to catch up with you, wrapping an arm around your own waist as the person is left befuddled.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ who realizes that maybe, the villain life isn’t so bad. As long as you’re by his side, that’s all that matters.

One final reset au.

Heavy spoilers.

It takes years, but fable’s soul manifests in the aether. As one final attempt to fix everything, or maybe as revenge, he causes another reset, completely destroying his soul in the process.

Disclaimer: I haven’t watched everyone’s finales and I don’t have solid ideas for where every character wakes up after the reset, also, spoilers.

Caspian remembers everything, but he’s stuck in Elysium with no way of getting back and helping his family or friends.

On the other hand, Rae and Violet are stuck in the end. Rae doesn’t remember anything about being mortal, including his partners, but Violet remembers the end stone reset and parts of the other two. He figures out another has happened pretty quickly.

Violet checks the end prison, which has returned, for Caspian, Athena, Easton, or (this name has been forgotten) but finds it empty. He won’t help Rae remember anything because he knows it will cause more stress to know that there are people out there that Rae loves that he can’t get to. (for the sake of this, lighting the ends portal in the over world opens the one in the end as well.)

Rae has Veah and Cari with him. He doesn’t remember either of them but quickly recognizes the resemblance and takes care of them. They remember everything and are very scared because Dad doesn’t remember them, even when he promised he’d never forget them. (They never understood why he kept making that promise to them. He’d promise them every time he had a bad dream.)

Ocie and Momboo both remember everything. It hurts, having everything taken away again, and they’re looking to reunite everyone and rebuild lodestar grove.

Quixis-Icarus can see and interact with the world, they try to push people into each other’s paths and they look for Rae and Centross endlessly.

Most everyone in the over world and nether (really just Athena) are quick to regain memories once they meet up with the others. A blessing from Caspian traveled on the over world wind, making it easier, but those in other dimensions weren’t effected. (Athena just had really good bonds with people)

Caspian is able to read everything his friends write down, Arisanna, Ven, and Athena unknowingly keep him in the loop. Rae also takes notes, Caspian broke into tears when he realized his husband 1- didn’t remember him, and 2- had their kids and was keeping them safe.

Veah writes down journals for her and Cari, Caspian reads them too and wishes he could go help them feel less scared.

Athena and Fenris make it to the end first and Rae doesn’t immediately remember them. Violet defends them but Rae locks them away anyway until Veah and Cari see and recognize them. Fenris calling him starlight and Athena calling him their uncle cause memories to come crashing back.

Rae stresses about making it to Elysium, hoping that Caspian was there. He builds the portal and is willing to give up himself to get there but Ven, who remembers dying, seems to be able to open it on his own without consequences. (Icarus didn’t want anyone to get hurt, they found the portal from the last reset. No one seems to notice that it’s one block off now.)

Caspian definitely sees Rae’s notes about ways to relight the portal and knows he’s going to try and sacrifice himself. He’s at the portal waiting when the plan happens and his first words to anyone are “Is Rae okay?” Because he was so scared. He makes sure everyone knows that it was fable who caused this reset, and that his soul is permanently gone this time. (He saw it happen. And he couldn’t get there fast enough to stop it. He couldn’t let the others find out he failed to protect them.)

Once everyone is accounted for, memories are fully back, and homes are rebuilt, there’s a huge celebration with everyone involved. (As the sun goes down, Oscar takes the other kids home to have a sleepover and Ulysses breaks out the alcohol.)

John had been spiraling. Everyone know it, everyone could see it. He wasn't subtle. And at that point, he didn't care. He'd been having a bad few days, weeks, months, really, and it seemed to have come to head then. He ground his teeth as he paced around the cabin, clenching and unclenching his fists to try to keep from crawling out of his skin. He was lost in his own thoughts, memories and dreams swirling around, corrupted by the hopelessness overlaying the camp.

"Bucky!" the voice snapped him out of his thoughts and John spun around, ready to throw hands with whoever dare to yell at him. Only to freeze in place, further pulled from himself by the look of absolute terror in DeMarco's eyes. He'd seen DeMarco looking scared of him before, but this? This wasn't it. Something else had him truly terrified.

"What?" John asked, clipped and annoyed, balling his hands into fists in his pockets to keep them to himself.

"It's the Major," DeMarco said, earning a raised eyebrow, "the other Major. Buck," he explained in response to that raised eyebrow, that confused look. Although, just hearing it concerned Gale didn't clear the confusion, didn't clear the annoyance of being disrupted from his self-obsessed trance.

"Okay," John tried to prompt, fingers finding a loose thread inside the pocket.

"One of the other men got into an argument with a guard," DeMarco tried again, "it escalated. The Major stepped in," he continued, looking away from John's harsh, intense gaze, looking at his own dirty hands— dirty with mud and dirt and blood, John realized suddenly— before clearing his throat, "when Buck stepped in, though, other guards took notice. One of them tried to shoot the guy who started it. Buck grabbed the gun and that set them off," DeMarco bit his lip to keep his voice from trembling. John was more tense than he had been, eyes flashing in a different kind of rage.

"Where is he?" John asked, cutting DeMarco off.

"Uh, well, that's the thing, Major," DeMarco seemed to shrink slightly, responding to the authority in John's voice, "the took him away. They dogpiled him and then drug him away. He told us not to tell you," DeMarco admitted, "but nobody else knew what to do, and we thought you might have an idea…" It was just like that, Major John Egan was back, his spiral reversed, his sanity momentarily restored, as he thought of his best friend, the love of his life, his whole world being pulled away by Nazi scum.

"Take me to them," he ordered, hands falling out of his pockets as he fell into a marching step behind DeMarco. DeMarco bounced in his steps anxiously and John couldn't help the surge of annoyance and rage. What at, he wasn't sure, but he figured some of it was at himself. He should have been there, he knew it, he was one of the Majors, after all. And yet, he'd been alone, in the bunkhouse, letting himself give in to insanity. An insanity that plagued them all, yet none of the rest folded to.

That thought jolted through John and he thought of Gale, of the small cracks, the little chips in his mask, in his bravado, his facade. He realized then, watching DeMarco trot ahead of him, thinking back to his words, his panic, that Gale had been hiding those cracks, those chips, those little symptoms of the insanity dogging his heels from everyone. Everyone but John. And John hadn't seen, hadn't noticed— no, that wasn't right, he had seen, had noticed, he was just too self-absorbed, too cruel, too careless. Gale had been reaching out to him and John had spit in his face.

As they neared the fence, John could hear the chatter, could hear the anxiety rippling through the prisoners, the rage burning through the guards. It was a powder keg, John realized, and he rolled his shoulders back, shoving past DeMarco.

"Hey! HEY!" John shouted over the building noise. Immediately, the other prisoners spun to face him, some looking ready to square up, others instant bowing their heads. He strode forward, eyes focused on the guards in front of him, the crowd parting to his broad shoulders. Even the ones who initially looked ready to fight bowed their heads, submitting to his authority as top dog.

"Bucky," Brady sounded relieved, sharing a glance with DeMarco as the two walked up, "they took Buck."

"I know, Brady, I know," John said, clapping the pilot on the shoulder, "let me handle this. You two try to get everyone away and calmed down, yeah?" John asked Brady and DeMarco, relieved when they nodded, falling easily into line under his leadership. He turned away from them, tuning out their soft calls and orders, ignoring at the crowd slowly started to quiet down and diffuse. Instead, John was busy eyeing up one of the Germans, the one clearly in charge, and he was getting eyed up in return.

"Major Egan," John said as way of introduction, holding out his hand, keeping it low and nonthreatening. He expected the way hands tightened on guns, barrels shifting to nearly point at him. He didn't expect the guard to take his hand, though he didn't say anything, just continued to stare at the American.

"Y'all just took my friend away, I hear," John said into the awkward silence, "Major Cleven? Where is he?" John asked more forcefully, arching an eyebrow expectantly. The other guards glanced amongst themselves before one leaned over to whisper in the leader's ear. John's gaze never wavered, staring at the Nazi's with barely contained rage and disgust.

"He assaulted one of us," the Nazi finally replied, his English better than John anticipated. His shoulders tensed at the accusation. As he opened his mouth to argue, another man cut in, hand on John's shoulder.

"It's not worth it, drop it," Brady muttered in his ear, earning a glare from John. The Nazi was smirking at him, just waiting for him to say more, to do something. John ground his teeth together before stepping away from the guard, holding up his hands— more for Brady's benefit than the guards— and turned away. Brady fell into step behind him, casting a glance over his shoulder at the guard, tightening his jaw at the way the German smirked at him.

"What the fuck?" John growled as they returned to the bunk house, punching the door as he jumped up the stairs, making Brady flinch behind him.

"Bucky," he started, holding up his hands as the taller man spun around and glared at him, "we couldn't do anything, he wouldn't let us."

"What. Happened?" John snarled, not wanting to hear what they had to say. DeMarco slid between John and Brady, putting his hand on Brady's hip behind him.

"I told you," DeMarco replied softly, trying to keep a calm voice, "Buck stepped in on a near fight between a guard and another of us and grabbed the guard's gun."

"I got that, Benny," John replied, eyes flashing in rage, "what happened to Buck?"

"Oh…" DeMarco hesitated, biting his lip and glancing over his shoulder at Brady. Brady shrugged and nodded, "he got shot in the hand," DeMarco started, ignoring the way John's entire body tenses, his jaw clenching, "and then that guard used the butt of his gun to bash his face. When he hit the ground, they started kicking him…" he trailed off, looking at his hands. John suddenly understood why he had blood on them.

"We tried to stop them, Bucky. We did," Brady muttered, "but they wouldn't let us do anything, and even when we tried to get Buck away, they took him back…" he explained softly, rubbing a hand up and down DeMarco's back. John looked between the two of them before sighing, deflating slightly.

"I get it," John finally said softly— DeMarco and Brady both sighed soflty— and rubbed his hand over his face, "dammit, Buck…" he grumbled under his breath. He knew that Gale would be back, and he knew that he'd be injured. He straightened his back, his spin cracking, his shoulders rolled back, and sighed.

"Okay, boys, we need to get some supplies," John announced, "we're gonna need some bandage and wound care stuff, specifically cleaner, for when the Major gets back."

"Got some stuff together already, Major," Hambone announced from his corner, kicking a box across the floor. John took quick inventory of it, satisfied with the amount of bandages and vaseline.

"Good, good. But we need disinfectant," John said once he finished taking stock, "and needle and thread for stitches. Benny, can you go see the doc, see if he has anything he can spare?"

"On it," DeMarco replied, nodding, and bolting for the door. John nodded to Brady and he charged after the other man.

"Alcohol work, Major?" another man asked and John nodded, holding out a hand for the bottle and tucking it in the box. He just hoped Gale would be back today, and soon, especially if he'd been shot in the hand. Gunshots could go bad fast, and none of them needed that. John hummed to himself, thinking about what else they could possibly need. It was up to DeMarco and Brady to get the last of it, he realized, and John grabbed the box and brought it to the bunks, setting it on Gale's bunk and staring at the blankets.

"Major!" Brady called out, charging back into the bunks, a small basket in his hands, "we got a needle, some thread, scissors, and a tweezers. Is that enough?" he panted, DeMarco coming up behind him, face flushed, excited looking.

"Perfect, good work," John replied, nodding as he looked through the basket before adding it to the box.

Now all that's left was to wait.

John was just getting to the limit of his patience when the bunkhouse door slammed open and two guards stalked in, carrying Gale between them, dropping him heavily on the floor before turning and leaving, slamming the door behind them. Nobody moved at first, but then Gale groaned, and everyone kicked into action. DeMarco bolted for the first-aid box, John bolted for Gale, carefully gathering him up in his arms.

"Hey, Buck, you with me?" John asked softly, breathing out a breath of relief when Gale's eyes fluttered open. They were hazy and unfocused, but they were open and alive, and that's all John cared about. Well, not all, but it was the first thing he cared about just then. Gale's face was bloodied and bruises were blooming over his swollen skin, his teeth dark with dried blood, his mouth dry. His nose was crooked— broken— and his neck sported disturbingly hand shaped bruises. John swallowed his anger and the bile that rose into his throat at the state Gale was in.

"Buck, c'mon," John said, jostling him slightly when his blink lasted longer than John was comfortable with. "How many fingers am I holdin' up?" John asked, holding up two fingers and his thumb— three fingers, should be an easy answer. Instead, Gale squinted, puzzled.

"Six?" he guessed.

"Buck, doll, I don't have six fingers," John replied softly. Gale just blinked at him, still looking confused. John didn't need to be a doctor to see Gale had sustained a pretty bad concussion.

DeMarco skid on his knees to sit on Gale's other side, wet towel in hand to mop at his face, just then, distracting them both. Gale hissed in pain when the cold wetness touched his heated skin, but DeMarco muttered softly to him and kept wiping gently, cleaning grime and blood away to better see his injuries. John's stomach turned when the deep colours of the blooming bruises were even more revealed and he shifted his attention, taking stock of the rest of Gale— at least what he could see. Gale had been in his undershirt when he'd been taken and he'd been returned in the same state, letting John see the way his arm hung loosely from his shoulder socket, broken, scratches and bruises littering his arms, more handprints bruising on his wrists. And his hand. His fucking hand. John bit his tongue to keep from getting sick.

There was a hole through the middle of Gale's hand.

He grabbed the gun. DeMarco had said. John didn't realize he'd grabbed it in a way that the bullet could tear through his delicate, precious hand. It was just as dirty as the rest of him, dirt already crusting the edges of the hole, blood coating his whole hand, and John's anxiety spiked. If that got infected, Gale would lose his whole hand, if not his whole life.

"Benny," John said softly, diverting DeMarco's attention from Gale's face to his hand. DeMarco sucked in a breath.

"What?" Gale croaked out, "is it bad?" And John's heart clenched at how rough Gale's voice was, how childlike and scared he sounded, despite the deep timbre of it.

"Don't worry, Buck, you're gonna be fine," John insisted, ignoring the way Crank and Hambone looked at him, pity on their faces. They didn't know Gale like he did, didn't know how stubborn the man really was. Gale wouldn't die from this. He couldn't. John didn't want to know what he'd do if Gale left him. Shaking the thoughts out of his head, he reached for another wet towel, grateful that DeMarco had brought multiple, and started gently wiping the blood and dirt off Gale's hand, out of the wound, dabbing gently at the clean edges of the bullet hole.

And Gale howled.

He thrashed, trying to get away from the sudden burst of pain and John yelped in shock, dropping the towel and dragging Gale into a crushing hug against him.

"It's okay, Buck, you're okay! I gotta clean it!" John insisted, holding tight to the trashing blond, ignoring the elbows jabbing into him, the others watching. When Gale went limp again— after his hand went numb again, John assumed— Brady cleared his throat.

"Major," he started softly, ignoring the way John flinched away from the voice suddenly at his shoulder, "let's get him to a bunk, then we can help hold 'im while you clean," Brady said, making it sound more like a suggestion than the order it was. Brady was a lower rank, but his head was on straighter in this situation, John knew, so he nodded.

"Alright," he agreed, almost reluctantly, adjusting his hold on Gale and biting his lip when the blond tensed and whimpered, "'s okay, love, we're just taking you somewhere more cozy," John soothed him softly, grateful when Brady and DeMarco helped get John up, supporting him and Gale, helping keep his steps steady and straight to the bunks. Crank grabbed the supplies and Hambone gathered up the towels, following behind at a slight distance.

"Take mine," one of the men said, motioning to his bottom bunk, and John gently laid Gale out.

"Buck, baby, 's okay, we're done moving," John comforted him as Gale whimpered and sobbed at the jostling, "we're gonna finish getting you cleaned up, yeah? I know it's horrible," John cooed softly, "but we gotta. We'll make it quick as possible," he promised. Gale nodded, still not entirely there with them in the bunkhouse, eyes hazy and distant. John just hoped he was someplace pleasant, hoped he was somewhere safe, as he picked up a wet rag again and carefully took Gale's arm in his hand, taking a deep breath, setting his jaw, and nodded for the men to hold Gale down.

I think I can finally pinpoint what bothers me so much about the Lenector ship - not even how it was treated in the show, but the very idea of making it "nuanced".

Long story short, I found an author that promised to flesh out the Lenector storyline in the show, including getting a better insight into Lenore's thought process and rewriting some of the dialogue (I appreciated that they fixed the "interrogation" in S3 to make Hector specify that he never cared about a reward, it made him look less stupid)

Author never rewrote the rape scene, which disappointed me but oh well, but they did write Hector and Lenore finally talking about the ring, a discussion sorely missing in S4. It was more or less what I would have written: Lenore swearing that she had no choice and it was for his own good and protection, and Hector lamenting that she still tricked him and made him into a pet and she could have been honest because he would have agreed to work with them.

... but he's still in love with her. He kisses her gladly. And his "conflict", his anger at the betrayal, is framed as something in the way of his love, an obstacle that he'd have to get over it.

And there it is.

Even with the acknowledgement that what Lenore did was horrible, there is the assumption that Hector, after a good talk, is bound to forgive her. That it still makes sense that he'd be attracted to her. That it's okay, because she meant well. That it's okay, because she didn't technically lie, only twisted the truth to wear down his mental defenses (already worn down by imprisonment and abuse)! Oh, I guess I must have dreamed Lenore saying that she wanted to run away with him before kissing him :) to be fair, it was a terrible piece of writing. Good thing it wasn't real, apparently!

Yes, Hector's forgiveness should have taken time, but it should have happened. Because Lenore is not a bad person and they deserved to be together. Because what she did, which was deliberately push her prisoner in a delicate mental state into having sex with her so that she'd put an enslaving ring without his consent, was just an honest mistake and doesn't speak at all of her morality.

She's the best he got. She's nice to him, because she makes cute dick jokes and goes to whine to him. She's better than Dracula, who lied to him (Lenore never did), and better than Carmilla, who was violent with him (Lenore never was). This is not to be taken as a sign of how horribly this man has been treated in life, and how he'd be happy with the smallest of crumbs because he has been broken that badly. Lenore is the happiness he deserves. Ignore how "your life could be worse" is literal textbook abuser logic, it's true in his case.

The problem with S4 is not that it excused Lenore's rape by deception. It's that it rushed the forgiveness that was due and didn't allow them to be together. Lenore's suicide was Ellis hating this character that completely overtook Carmilla's already established role and was treated far more magnanimously than the similar Japanese not-twins, clearly!

And this is the impasse I cannot get over. Every time, every damn time, even when fans agree that S4 was a disaster, all arguments funnel to this one part: Lenore raping Hector for her plans is not a moral event horizon. Hector loving her makes perfect sense and it is a tragic, "nuanced" romance that should have ended with the two kissing in the sunset, finally having in their arms someone who truly respects them.

^ the face of someone who only wanted to protect and take care of the prisoner whom she tricked into sex. She should have been happy with him forever and ever, really 🥺

I'm not judging the shippers' morality, obviously, I don't know any of these people. But the arguments they use make me sick to my stomach, which is made even worse by the fact that the show itself pushes this narrative, just in a way that was so shitty that even the fans were like "bruh".

I won't bother rewriting this trash, because I can do better with the gameverse. But if I ever did, I'd only ask for Hector to at least be conflicted until her sunning (which is not as nonsensical as fans seem to think lol, it just needs to be worded better). Like he recognizes that she did improve his life, but she used unforgivable means for no good reason. You want a tragic romance between two kindred souls? Remove that despicable, cruel act. The Lenore of S3 and the Lenore of S4 are irreconcilable and trying to do so always degenerates in rape apologism whether you mean it or not.

I've been thinking a lot about Phoenix's family, and I got carried away so I'm going to put the whole essay below the cut, I'm so normal about him

I'm sorry there's just no way that Phoenix has any sort of normal family situation, not just because they're never mentioned even in passing as he goes through extremely major life events, but also because of how he is as a person. You cannot convince me that the guy who fell head over heels for Dahlia two seconds after meeting her had any sort of reliable support system in his life. When she got arrested the only person he could think about was a guy he hadn't seen since they were both nine instead of any current person who would likely care that he almost got poisoned and arrested for murder.

While I think it would be nice if he had lesbian moms who loved him, it just doesn't quite fit in with what we know about Phoenix. I mean, even in the WAA/WTA the only photograph on display is Zak's, and if there isn't a better person to put on the wall than the biological father of his daughter who abandoned her, that's pretty sad. (though I personally like to think that his portrait was there specifically as a target for things like darts and throwing knives). Plus, we already know from the thing with Dahlia that Phoenix's primary way of dealing with trauma and abusive people is just to pretend nothing happened and force himself to forget about them.

That's not even mentioning this guy's abandonment issues and complete willingness to adopt anyone he finds into his found family with zero hesitation. He meets Ema once for a few days, someone he has no personal connection to, but because she reminded him of Maya he stays in contact with her at some capacity to the point that he keeps her investigative tools with him and can have his name be used to gain her favor. Also, there's that new years art where she gets drunk with the Wright's and Apollo. And there are several more young adults/teenagers like that, he's got that foster kid to foster dad energy.

What I think makes the most sense is either that he was given up for adoption/ was an orphan in the foster care system who was passed around a lot, never getting too attached to one family, which led to his abandonment issues, or that he had a normal family life until something happened that estranged them from him. As a staunch believer in Transmasc Phoenix my thoughts are that he had transphobic parents so when he left for university he cut them off and changed his full name which explains why he is so desperate for emotional connection at that time. He suddenly has no one but a dream to find Miles and a girlfriend whose red flags he's completely blind to.

But honestly, there are so many reasons that people could come up with that would also make sense for his character. Maybe they were emotionally abusive and since everyone around him has dead or horrifically bad parents he's just not going to ever bring it up because who is he to complain when his besties are Maya Fey and Miles Edgeworth. Maybe they were just absent a lot and he had to take care of himself (and perhaps younger siblings) until he just couldn't take it anymore. Maybe they just tried to get him a girlfriend to settle down with one too many times and he just refuses to visit them, not even on holidays like Christmas or new years. It's just fascinating to me that there's absolutely nothing about them, I think there was even one of those little (official?) comics that poked fun at the fact that he doesn't really have parents, he may not even know who they are.

I also stand behind all of the ideas from my Phoenix Family HCs Poll because all of them would be so fun to explore even if some of them are total crack HCs. Tigre is only 16 years older than Phoenix but you can't say it's not possible that he messed around in high school and his girlfriend just gave up the kid for adoption and it would be so funny if Phoenix had to put his own father into prison after he pretended to be him.

In my Fem!Phoenix AU where I'm planning on expounding upon her relationship with the Feys and her own spiritual power (Phoenix does canonically talk to ghosts sometimes), the spirit of Ryunosuke found her and kind of became her imaginary friend who appears sometimes because I love him.

Even the idea of the goddess of law making him as an indestructible little terror on the legal system would be fascinating to expand upon. I would love to read about the whole concept of law being turned into a kind of religion, is she a single omniscient god (is she single?) or is she part of a larger pantheon? What would that mean for Phoenix?

I just can't even fathom that there's something normal going on with Phoenix and his family, I think he should pull an Apollo and secretly have the most batshit family backstory. Just looking at this guy and you know he has some kinds of issues, he was an art/theater major, he's got to be a little bit of that flavor of fucked up.

hi, editing Li here, the summary ended up being over 2k words. then I realised you asked for a summary to the AU, which is part of the masterpost. I went over the lore in brief, I promise it's just brief despite the length and doesn't tackle All there is to the SMP

okay, lemme try and speedrun the lore of the dream smp - given that the story of monarchy restoration centers around the Dream Team, or at least the parts that I shared, I'll be focusing on them. this will get long and I'm really sorry jghdfjd

the core ideas you should know is that: Dream, George and Sapnap were close friends, but they drifted apart as time went on due to conflicts on the server. Dream crowned George as King, but then due to George doing badly as a king and this position putting him in danger made him dethrone George, which made the rift between them grow. they were once inseparable, and now George and Sapnap thought of Dream as obsessed maniac who no longer cared for them as people. after Dream got put in prison and tortured, he broke out, and this is where the lore of Monarchy Restoration diverges from the original story of the SMP and becomes an AU, as instead of reuniting with Punz as intended, Dream is too weak and injured to do much and runs into George, who takes him in.

now for the Actual Lore Recap:

at the very beginning of it all, there were two friends - Dream and George. they found a little piece of the world for themselves, and everything was fine. then a third came, Sapnap, and then more people joined, and they lived in the same house in the middle of the lake and things were okay.

months passed, and fights turned into splits in the community and a community turned to factions, and the conflicts of factions were intertwined with interpersonal fights. (the interpersonal conflicts? the disc saga, aptly named over 2 music discs that were used as a bartering chip and have a pretty good significance in the overall story. put a pin into that.)

the two factions at play were the (retroactively named) Greater SMP and L'Manburg which declared independence from the Greater SMP on basis of xenophobia. they lost the war against the Greater SMP, the final fight being a duel between Dream and the original owner of the discs (Tommy). a deal was struck after, where Tommy offered his discs in exchange for independence (or independance, if you want to stick to the original text)

an important aspect of this war is to note that Dream offered one of the people on L'Manburg's side a deal - they betray the faction and get to become the King of the Greater SMP. this establishes monarchy in the story. they accepted, betrayed their allies, got the role of a King with the promise of 'staying neutral and uninvolved in further conflicts'.

I'll breeze through the Manberg era for the most part (despite being the most interesting one, imo). L'Manburg ran a presidental election, the original leader (who wanted to take power by scamming the whole thing) lost, and the new leader of L'Manburg (renamed to Manberg, because they're not taking any L's anymore) exiled the OG president and his right hand man Tommy, things went bad. the two exiled men started a new faction (Pogtopia) that they hoped to use to take back their "rightful place" and were given support from Dream because the new Manberg was a little too expansive. (he ended up siding with Manberg last minute for Yet Unknown Reasons, we will get to them, again, put a pin in it)

the King of the SMP very vocally sided wih Pogtopia, which was a betrayal to the core principles of their position as King. the King was dethroned, and Dream put his best friend George on the throne, with him and Sapnap serving as his knights.

upon the defeat of Manberg by Pogtopia (since Manberg's authoritarian regime ended up driving people out and most joined Pogtopia, Dream and his people fought for Manberg only as mercenaries), one of the core allies of Pogtopia - an anarchist, the blood god himself, Technoblade - turned on his former allies because they told him it was about defeating a tyrant, but all they wanted was to kill one tyrant and put their own people in his place. Techno then fled into exile.

next chapter begins after the rebuild of L'Manberg, yet the L' is back, under a new rule given that the OG president uhhh Blew Up The Country with several megatons of TNT and then persuaded his father into killing him.

King George is vibing. he is unaware of all faction wars, builds himself a holiday house far away from everything, enjoys time with new friends, all while Dream grows more and more distant due to trying to keep what is left of his old life together.

the reason the home is important to mention is that, once peace has settled over the world, Tommy decided that the discs that he traded for independence are His, in fact, and he needs to steal them - or barter for them in any shitty way possible. he still had tons of grudges against Dream, and in one of these half-grudge fueled fuckeries, he and one other character set fire to George's holiday home.

Dream found it in ruin and still burning when he came see his friend with a bouquet of flowers. there are several interpretations to this, and since Dream himself never really specified, there's a speculation that he thought that this event maybe killed his best friend, and given that George is the King of the Greater SMP, an attack by the right hand man of the current L'Manberg president on the physical property of the King of a rival faction is de-facto a war declaration.

so we are presented with an ultimatum, where Tommy is either exiled or a war starts. (exile won. it was voted on by the fans we wanted that bitch Out. this is not quite as important but the dynamics shaping up between Tommy and Dream had a massive impact on the plot.)

while Tommy is in exile, George becomes rather friendly with a new budding faction on the server. his involvement with them means that his neutrality vow was broken, and given how frequently he got harassed by L'Manberg, Dream decided to dethrone George, and put the previous King back in power. this dethronement caused a huge rift to form between George and Dream (and Sapnap, who sided with George) and the three of them fell apart with the parting words from George to Dream being "Just say you hate me."

I'm sure this won't have any lasting effects on the man who was tearing himself apart to make the world the same as it was when it was just the two of them

now in brief: the L'Manberg cabinet decided to take revenge on Techno after he turned on them after they tricked him into helping them against Manberg. the punishment? execution. how did they achieve that? they hunted him down, threatened to kill his animals, told him he will get a court process but just set him up in a guillotine. Dream intervened and saved him, thus earning a favour from Techno because both of them are traumatized warriors with trust issues that rather treat kindness as currency. Tommy runs away from the place he was restricted to in his exile, moves in with the anarchist-in-retirement-gone-pacifist Techno, the two of them end up teaming up for the time being as Techno protects him from Dream. L'Manberg in the meantime decides to host a festival to show that they are peaceful now, and nothing bad will happen again :) it takes place a week after they unlawfully tried to execute Techno, and the festival is meant to serve as public execution of Dream. However, the festival is cut short when Dream storms in because the original house where he and his friends lived - known as the Community House - got blown up. he blames L'Manberg and Tommy, and after a short conflict that happens then he declares that L'Manberg has a day to evacuate and him and Techno agree to blow up the country. a second time. and completely now.

so L'Manberg is gone now and the members of the faction scatter. within days, Tommy receives an invitation from Dream to come get his discs (I didn't know how to include it, but after the whole 'setting George's house on fire' Tommy tried to barter for the discs and for Dream to ignore him setting the house on fire, all while trying to leverage things that Dream held dear. attachment to objects and people is a running theme in here. Dream then proceeded to give his "I don't give a fuck about Spirit, I don't give a fuck about anything actually" speech, basically telling everyone they have nothing to leverage against him and he will destroy them if he needs to and them holding something hostage won't bother him.) This sets the stage for the Disc Finale. Tommy and his best friend Tubbo make their way to a specific location, far away, all alone, where they are to fight against Dream to win the discs back. they lose spectacularly and Dream reveals his "grand plan" where he has a vault to gather "all the precious items people own to control them" (and I wrote "grand plan" because it was a farce. it was a show, it was staged, all just to get Tommy to leave him the fuck alone and stop meddling with his greater plan. what is the greater plan? fuck if I knew.)

the whole thing is then intercepted when a large group of people, one of which is Dream's right-hand-man Punz who was running errands for him before, and more importantly, Sapnap. he's beaten and just as he is about to be killed, he reveals his secret: the reason he sided with manberg, all those months ago, is because in exchange for his services he got a book of necromancy. he can now bring people back to life. because of this, he is locked up in an inescapable prison in case anyone needs to use the book.

Sapnap and George are very much under the impression that Dream doesn't care for them. Sapnap comes visit Dream once, promises to return, never does. George doesn't even bother coming in, instead sleeping his days away and it catches the eye of a deity who wears the same face as his beloved Dream, and he loses himself to the illusion of being reunited with his best friend in a world where everything is perfect.

another important thing to note is that Sapnap stumbles upon a Book Of Death (yes, its death note, sapnap is a weeb, it even functions the exact same.) the thing about the book of death and the book of necromancy is that they are both books that were placed into the world by the deity wearing Dream's face (known as DreamXD, or XD for short, yes it's a little silly) and XD reveals to another character (a somewhat-deity, Foolish) that the books and their owners are intertwined in a way, and if one were to die the other dies with him.

so we have three friends, one locked up in prison and seen as nothing more but an object to use (Dream), the other a man who watched his friends, his parents and his lovers fall apart (Sapnap) and a man who cannot face the world falling apart and the loss of his friends so he gives into an illusion created by god in his dreams. and all of them have a strange tie to a stranger god.

this very fractured relationship the three have, along with their ties to the god, were the main driving force behind making this AU.

the last thing you should probably know is that Dream was locked in prison for 10 months, starved, tortured, with little to no social contact until Techno was locked in with him, but with the use of some fun magic Techno managed to escape and then "return the favour" from when Dream saved him from execution, and broke him out of prison.

there's a lot of little nuanced things I probably forgot about but this is the core of it all I hope it helps

hot take: las nevadas four does not queue up a c!q redemption arc. las nevadas five makes some interesting forays in the direction of comeuppance but fails to make the narrative link between that comeuppance and, ultimately, any change. the reason for this is because the prison arc is inadequately integrated into ln4 and ln5. (i'm writing an ln5 essay rn and this is my prompt for you to join me in hell)

i think people who think LN was heading towards a c!quackity redemption arc were tripping fr 😭 like it's not that i would oppose the idea of c!quackity like, even heading in a different direction. but he didn't? he literally didn't. his interactions with c!slime were never examples of c!quackity realizing the dark course he was taking and changing his ways--if anything, they were a reason to double down? he makes a literal slime army in LN5 like. a literal slime army.

i feel like it comes from this misconception that c!Quackity's whole deal revolves around how he ~cares~ for people, and when he felt betrayed and whatever by the fiances and such then his heart froze over and he went for ambition instead. and therefore learning to care for something can unfreeze his heart and make him good again, or something (<- oversimplified). but c!quackity's deal isn't that he closed his heart off to love? like c!quackity's issue is that he's terminally insecure and therefore kinda terminally self-centered--even in c!karlnapity, he was frequently portrayed as being insecure as hell about c!karlnap and preferred when the attention was on him. when c!karl was freaking the fuck out at him in LN4, his immediate reaction to c!karl like having literal memory loss was to scream at him.

all of this is way oversimplified for the record but it's like.

like, c!quackity and c!slime isn't about redemption as much as it is giving c!quackity an opportunity. and what we largely see, honestly, is c!quackity caring about c!slime...and also grooming him to be like, the successor of his country, seeing him as something malleable that he could use to create another version of himself. it's not that c!quackity was necessarily seeking to harm c!slime, but was he being manipulative? i mean, yeah???

and yeah, for sure, LN4 and especially LN5 heavily suffer from a lack of the prison being properly addressed. the prison and c!dream in specifics haunts c!quackity throughout the entirety of LN--any conclusion to this arc no matter what direction c!Quackity took needed a proper resolution to the prison imo ???

like i don't hate purpled's revenge quest, but bringing it back to purpled-quackity-slime Again in LN5 after the conclusion of LN4 made that all hit a lot less hard. i liked the c!punz scene tbh and i also liked c!dream's ditching las nevadas, but that also feels a lot less impactful when he had like, five lines and barely a confrontation (fuck the internet connection there FR). like, c!Quackity rejecting change isn't bad in itself, but it feels like later parts of las nevadas emphasize his decisions less in favor of what's done to him, and what's done to him doesn't feel enough like a consequence of his own actions. furthermore, so much about Las Nevadas and the Prison (the revive book in specifics) has everything to do with self-centered ambition moreso than revenge, and it feels like that in particular gets kinda poorly addressed? like, the deal with c!Purpled doesn't have to do with revenge, he's not really taking revenge on Purpled--he is, however, ambitious and doing everything that he thinks will make Las Nevadas Great, and the whole thing with him still continuing doggedly on LAS NEVADAS!! even after alluvthat is much more of a commentary on his relationship with power and ambition than on revenge.

this is kinda scattered (like the LN finale LMAO!) but yeah. las nevadas is literally created as a response to imprisoning c!dream, the beginning of this arc happens in parallel to the beginning of his visiting the prison, so having c!dream play as small as a role as he did in the latter two streams really ends up hurting the arc as a whole when so much emphasis had been on c!quackity and ... violence? both outside of the prison and inside it. having c!quackity come to terms with the fact that he does in fact suck fell kinda flat without properly addressing the ways that he actually does suck...? anyway yeah not the best essay kat dorry

You woke up to a worried Chishiya. You had been tossing and turning and he got worried. You were having nightmares lately but this one felt too real.

“Are you okay? Did you have a bad dream?”

You nodded

“Tell me about it”

You stopped for a second, trying to remember it.

“Hmm… It was very odd. You and I were in a prison with other people”

“A prison?”

“Yes but not as inmates. We also had collars around our necks. Black collars. Each of them showed an image on the back but I couldn’t figure out what it was. It was blurry”

“Go on”

“At some point we went to this other room that had lots of food in it, some sort of dispensary”

“Hmm”

“You were standing by yourself eating biscuits”

“Sounds like me!” he said proudly.

“Hold up, don’t get too excited about the biscuits because we had to go into some cells and some of the other people’s head just…exploded”

“Their heads exploded?”

“Yeah, the collars were bombs or something similar”

“Did my head explode?”

“Oh my god, no”

“Did yours?” he asked raising his eyebrows.

“Shuntarō!. No, mine didn’t explode either”

He stroke your face giving you a smile.

“It’s okay. The nightmare is over. We are okay. I have no idea what that dream means but it’s over”

“You are right”

“Come on, let’s make you a tea”

You sat near the kotatsu in the living room while Chishiya prepared your tea. For some reason, a nice milky tea always put you to sleep when you weren’t able to.

He sat down besides you and handed you the tea.

“Thank you”

You took a sip of your tea. It almost burned your tongue.

“Shuntarō”

“Huh? Is it too hot?”

“Don’t worry about the tea. I just remembered something from after the moment the meteor hit”

“Go on”

“I just remember names, I can’t put a face on them though”

“What names?”

“I know. But I still did them. I want to take this second chance and turn my life around. I’m going to quit my job or ask to be transferred to other hospital”

Now that was something you’ve never heard from him so it caught you by surprise

Uhhh ckau au where fusion is possible thoughts:

Sam and Dream a couple of times while building the prison together. Generally they didn't fuse that often before because they weren't as close, but as two of the OG 8 they cared about each other and trusted each other well enough to fuse a few times as kids.

Sam doesn't mind fusion, he likes getting to have a connection with people. He'd do it with Ponk to just zoom around together, and Bad. He's used to the Many Limbs and thinks they're very useful.

Punz has not actually fused with Sam prior to ckau. They didn't fuse much in general as a kid. They get a little antsy at the idea of people having access to their head. Purpled and him have, and possibly he did so with Dream once when they were kids? But they don't actually do it that often until the revival book shows up, and when the first of their experiments works, they jump and cheer and someone leaps into the others arms for a hug and- well.

Dream fused with the dteam a lot. He loved it. He loved getting to be surrounded by the love they all had for each other. He loved knowing he was cared about. If one of the OG8 said "let's fuse" he'd be ready in an instant. As the dsmp goes on and the DTeam stops fusing, he has a hard time dealing with it. Feels very cold. He pretends he isn't starved for affection until he accidentally fuses with Punz and then it becomes a thing they do Often because Punz could feel those little cracks where Dream was lonely.

Sam never actually fused with Dream in prison. He never asked. Dream never offered, even when he offered sex, because it didn't occur to him that that might be something Sam would want.

Sam would probably insist that the idea was revolting: Dream was Evil his mind was likely Tainted (even though he had fused with Dream just a few weeks back and had been happy and warm and in sync.) Sam pretends to consider it only as a way to Keep Dream Locked Up. Wouldn't it the ultimate way to do it? Dream can't escape Sam that way. He'd be able to keep Dream with him. Just the two of them.

Dream doesn't fuse for a while after prison. Punz tentatively offers, hoping to comfort, but Dream is terrified of Punz feeling or seeing anything that happened. Punz can't know how it felt, being tortured, Dream won't do that to them.

a few sessions into the ckau, Dream feels well enough to fuse with Punz during Aftercare in an extremely tender moment. It's uplifting. It's everything to them. After the tension of adding Sam to their relationship, it's exactly the thing thats needed to calm and reassures Punz. Feeling their bond overwhelm with lovelovelove I trust you more than anyone

Drunz fusing is also something that Punz taunts Sam with during one of their spats. Yeah, Sam may be able to fuck Dream, but Punz and Dream fuse, they have love and trust, and Sam doesn't. It's something that bothers Sam immensely.

they don't fuse after Sam rescues his partners from Quackity. They don't fuse in a high tension moment, or even a particular notable one. Sam and Dream are taking one of their evening walks, somehow end up holding hands. They stop for a bit to let Dream rest, and he leans his head on Sam's shoulder. All Sam has time to think is Oh. and then-

SamDream curls up in the grass until late in the evening, just quietly existing. They're not really able to identify the emotions in their chest, they just know they don't want to leave this moment

Sam and Punz actually do fuse during a notable moment. During the first anniversary where Punz comes alone to reveal that he's a hybrid to Sam. Punz puts a leg on Sam's shoulder, and Sam grabs it with gentle firmness, and for a moment they're just. Both staring. Intimate and intense. They don't remember who leaned in first, but that's okay, because SamPunz doesn't care about that. They feel a rumble in their chest before they even stand. Warm.

there's a competitive air to who gets to fuse with Dream More for a while in the beginning. If Dream fused with one he has to fuse with the other. He thinks it's ridiculous but he'll do it, because he loves fusing with them, but good God. Neither of the two will admit to being jealous of the idea that the other has a deeper connection to him. It's only when the two finally Settle and fully complete the triangle that the insecurity fades.

Sam tends to crowd Dream against the wall and beg to fuse. He is Very sad wet and pathetic.

SamDream has Dream's adhd and Sam's ocd. They also tend to get caught in loops very easily

It's very important that I tell you that when Sam and Dream fuse, their fusion is filled with complete and utter contentment. Sam's need to Keep Own Consume is finally appeased, their souls are now Entwined. He is in a formless state of bliss, and their fusion reflects that, purring constantly. They are together, and Dream is so cozy from how wanted he is. He's being engulfed by love, enough to make him want to rest, just a little.

Their fusion is a many legged puppycat, all fluff and fur, several long tails that poof a little, and loveslovesloves Punz so much. They have zoomies where they get So Excited and have to Build Things and Go Places, but it's always followed by a period of needing to lounge and sleep and get So Many Pets. They've created a large tree made of non-wood materials that is big enough to hold them in its branches, and they like pawing at Punz.

When Dream and Sam have to unfuse, Sam tends to become discontent, whining and begging for just a little longer; he doesn't want to leave Dream. But Dream tells him he wants a kiss and a hug and to see Sam for real, and Sam remembers how much he loves those things too, so it makes the transition easier. They have to kiss after they unfuse. It's Important.

"Are you coming down any time soon?" Punz called up to them. The mass of fluff and arms peeked out from over a branch of deepslate.

"Hm," they considered. "Maybe. Yes?"

"That doesn't sound very sure."

The fusion shrugged, and leaned over to hold out a paw. Several tails wiggled hopefully. "Punz?"

They sighed, but couldn't help the wry smile. They leaped onto the offered paw and let themselves be brought up to the top of the strange, manmade tree that they had been building for the entire day.

Humming in delight, they set him carefully in the top base of the tree. He looked around, at the numerous branches, the insane amount of blocks required for the sheer size of the thing, and felt a soft warmth.

"It looks good." He said. Immediately, a thunderous purr echoed.

GOD where do I even start its beautiful its wonderful its emotional i love it so much

Ill try not to copy my intermission thoughts too much (if you havent seen those here they are)

Ok lets talk about the history of it. A quick google search says its based on a strike in 1899, and Roosevelt ran for presidency in 1901, so we'll just say the musical takes place in 1899 too (correct me if theres a different confirmed time).

During this time, work conditions are absolute shit, monopolies and trusts are on the rise, and the concept of a union has recently emerged. I really didnt need to say much of this bc its apparent in the musical, but i love historically accurate stuff so deal with it /lh

And in the musical we see the beginnings of Roosevelt's trust-busting and ideas of social equality that he acts on during his presidency (it also kinda ties into his environmentalism stuff a bit too!)

And after reading up a bit on the strike the musical was based on, a lot of the effects of the strike in the musical were historically accurate too! the newsboys could sell back papers they werent able to sell on the streets, but the price was unfortunately not yet lowered. (also, the names of the publishers in the show are historically accurate as well!!! makes my little history brain happy :DDD )

SO whats the point of all of my rambling here?

people make historical art all of the time. we see it in musicals like Annie, Hamilton, and so so many more. obviously this goes beyond musicals here, but since newsies is a musical ill try to stay with that topic.

anyway, we learn about history to learn from it. we see these past issues that our previous generations struggled with, in these art forms as to be easily digestible, and we discover their solutions. we get to see the humanity behind the issues and the conflicts they faced to overcome them. and ofc its not the only reason, but one reason these stories are told with art is to bring attention to them. people are way more likely to listen to music than study a historical textbook. so, they make it entertaining. they make relatable and lovable characters. they make people care about the show and subsequently the issue itself. all of this is to explain how and why things that happened in history are bad as to never repeat them again.

We see these topics of worker mistreatment, corrupt businesses, child labor, gender/sex inequality, and the class separation all brought to the spotlight in this show, and it does a damn good job of showing the pain and suffering they cause. the story of this show is incredible and so very important to learn about.

i think the biggest change i felt towards a character was Davey

he grew on me soooooo much his character growth is everything to me

he went from trying to stay out of their business to teaching them what a union was to helping them start it to running it himself when jack ran off to convincing jack to come back when times got tough he is sooo important to the story

and to me. hes important to me <3

OH AND RACE

i saw people mention the name before but i didnt know which he was until they addressed him directly I LOVE THAT GUYYY

especially in king of new york hes got such a big personality what a silly guy

OK now for the guy the silly the mc jack

At the beginning he is entirely driven by both his love for his family and ofc his dream of living in Santa Fe, but atm hes just trying to get by so hes more focused on the newsies. but a boy can dream

then he gets all caught up in the strike business and only focuses on that for a while bc he wants to protect his boys

then shit goes south. they get essentially jumped, and crutchie gets hurt and arrested.

and he thinks, what was it all for? if he couldnt protect his brother (never living that down btw), whats the point of even trying to strike anymore

so he changes his focus back to santa fe. the one thing hes still got going for him.

and he gets confronted by katherine, les, and davey, and they knock some sense into him. stopping the strike isnt going to take away any of the harm done. the danger is expected, theres no way any of this could go down without some form of a casualty. so why not try to do something about it. the only way to make this situation better is to get back in the game and keep pushing for change.

and ofc the thing with katherine which ill talk abt a bit more later

in all of this, something in him changes. he dreamed of santa fe, a simpler life, one where he didnt have to worry about having to afford food and clothing for the next day.

but what he never considered was the loneliness. sure, he offered to bring crutchie and katherine with him, but hed be leaving behind so many more. and thats when he realized he never needed to get out, he just needed things to change a bit. and they did! because of the strike, living became so much more affordable. no it wasnt perfect, but it was enough to be safe and secure, just like he wanted. and he had his family beside him the whole time.

ill admit that before i sat and thought about it for a while, this ending was really unsatisfactory to me. i mean we got how many santa fe reprises? all for naught?

but in reality, santa fe would never be enough for him. hes just so used to this life surrounded by the people he cares most about and doing everything in his power to protect him, hed just be so bored, so understimulated, and hed just continue to yearn for more. that path of wanting would never come to a conclusion and hed live his life never truly being happy. so i really do thing he made the right choice in staying, because new york became his santa fe. he didnt need to seek it out, it came to him.

Ok now with him and katherine

ill start by saying i do really adore them. i feel like a lot of what im about to say might seem like i think otherwise, but i truly do think theyre very sweet

ok so every interaction of theirs in act one was. very uncomfortable to say the least. he honestly seemed really predatory at times and it just really felt like an old-timey romance where the girl doesnt know her worth so she flocks to any guy that shows interest in hr bc she thinks its her only purpose

now obviously that is NOT the truth, those were just my first impressions. Katherine is extremely capable of taking care of herself and deciding what is and isnt right for her, she likes jack purely because she can and does. she knows her worth and just likes him bc she likes him, no strings attached

i will say the first kiss kinda caught me off guard lmao. like i knew they were gonna be a thing but that is NOT how i expected that to go down. its likely just bc of my aroace-ness but i saw no sign of them actually getting together prior to that, aside from them being the main man and leading lady in the show so ofc they have to be together. i mean ig her reaction to him drawing her was a bit of a hint but still. ok maybe its just bc im demi. hadnt thought abt that until now. damn. is this a normal thing? maybe it is. maybe im being too harsh. idk lmao

anyway ill admit the kiss was successful in getting his attention and getting him to listen to her so ill give it that lmaoo but tbh i did tune a bit of their song out bc it started to make me a bit uncomfy but i did liste back to it later on. they really seem to have a healthy relationship where they both care about the other and know the other is strong enough on their own, they just both want to be a part of the other's life. its really sweet! theyre so supportive of each other!!! green flags all around!!!

the bit with him learning shes pulitzers daughter was really interesting to me. at first she tries to talk to him but he kinda brushes her off, but from then on he just kinda has full faith in her? i mean yeah he gets upset about it bc he thinks she lied to him, but i dont think he thought she had any ill intentions. that was a complicated sentence lmaoo damn. i think he really understood that she wanted to help, he was just caught up in a lot of Feelings and was afraid that she wasnt trustworthy despite him still trusting her. and then he let her explain and from then on they fully support the other and trust each other immensely

so yeah first impressions were a bit iffy but i think theyre very sweet <333

OK GOD CAN I GUSH ABOUT THE STAGE DESIGN FOR A BIT???? GAHHH

i mean the moving stairs and scaffolding arent new. i know this. but just the way they frame scenes with the scaffolding is stunning. the chase scenes??? dude. enthralling. the bits where theyre in the city and they have people just up their acting like civilians? SO cool. makes it incredibly more realistic and believable. and the way they projected images onto the curtain-like things they pulled down was extremely creative!!! like in theory its such a simple design. it was literally nothing more than the scaffolding and stairs, and a few tables and wagons and such in certain areas. but they did SO much with it it was hard to believe it took place on a stage. ofc the filming helps with that but still. the start felt like it was on the roof of the building bc of a combination of the lighting and the use of just one of the scaffolding pieces. and when theyre in buildings, the wall of scaffolding works really well as a backdrop!!! and i already talked about the city street scenes, it fits perfectly. god its so inspiring id love to be behind something like that one day

I think they would be very pro dubcon!! Both of them are kinda control freaks IMO and I think it manifests in Varian wanting to give up control and Hugo wanting to take more control. Also not to madly project onto Varian, but I think he probably carried over intense trauma from what happened with being a fugitive and being in prison and not being able to have body autonomy there. A dubcon scene would give Varian a way to unpack some of that in a setting where he technically DOES have control.

I agree that it probably starts out less than ideal though. Both of them are stupid attracted to each other, but Hugo is lying to Varian and Varian doesn't trust Hugo. That's a horrible recipe for disaster, because throwing some kink in there that requires trust is a bad idea when you don't trust the person you're with. Varian would push Hugo to his snapping point and Hugo would probably be a little rough/cruel with Varian (I think Varian is secretly into it a little bit tho).

The first couple of times they do this, the aftercare is probably atrocious bc they aren't technically together and Hugo doesn't have a ton of experience being a good dom. After they start dating for real (and Hugo probably goes to New Dream for BDSM advice (nonsexual, he's asking about how to take care of Varian best)), things get really good and they both can enjoy some dubcon scenes without Varian having a bad drop afterwards.

Also Hugo gagging Varian is so algahsglaksdfjkdf like YES PLEASE??? Varian would be so annoyed by it bc then it means Hugo can say as much stupid shit as he wants without any backtalk, but it would also make him horny as hell to be put in a submissive state like that.

How did you get into dsmp, when did it start, who are your favs, who do you dislike, any hot takes, what did you think of the finale, what species do you hc the characters

1. i started watching dreams content early april 2020, at a little before 3 mil subscribers! i started watching dteam clips not too long after and so knew about the dream smp’s existence early early on, before there was lore. however i only used youtube at the time and didn’t even know there was lore at all until i saw sad-ist’s first dsmp animation (i have been a fan of hers since i was around twelve or thirteen; its funny that the dsmp introduced a lot of people to sad-ist but for me sad-ist introduced me to the dsmp!) a couple months later when lore started really picking up i started posting more about it on social media.

2. i think youre asking for fave characters, in which case im pretty basic. top five are likely gonna have to be 1) c!dream, 2) c!quackity, 3) c!sam, 4) c!tommy, and then i’d say c!techno, c!niki, and c!tubbo are all tied for fifth!

3. i wouldnt say i outright dislike any characters. i personally never really cared for c!schlatt and i especially havent really cared much for c!wilbur since like, the election arc. nothing against them personally, or fans of those characters, they just dont really interest me personally. that might change soon though!!

4. i suppose my only real hot take is that again, the justification for what c!dream went through during prison arc can easily be used to justify what c!tommy went through during exile arc; i believe there are certain things that no one can deserve to go through and torture/manipulation like that are two of those things. i’ve already said that before but its really my only lore hot take i’d say i can word well (i have a lot of thoughts in my head and never have ANY idea how to word them 😭)

as for any hot takes regarding ccs, i wouldnt say i have any big ones either but they might put me in hot water with some people anyway LOL. i believe that everyone should be given chances to change for the better and that a person having bigoted views in the past because of how they were raised and no longer having them in the present is a Good Thing!! no one should be expected to be perfect for their entire lives. positive change is always good i think and it should be encouraged, for any cc and person in general. finally regarding any friendships in the dsmp that are broken now, i dont want to blame one single person in any friendship. we don’t know what fully happened behind the scenes and nor should we ever - its private.

5. this question ended up being perfect timing because i JUST caught up on the finale like two hours ago 😭 havent watched all the full streams but have seen the major clips so i could understand what happened. i was actually just about to post about it, but i loved it!! i’m a big c!discduo apologist and enjoy how it handled both their characters. c!tommy did do bad things (though that doesnt mean he deserved the bad things done to him)!! c!dream did a Lot of bad things (though that doesn’t mean HE deserved the bad things done to him)!!

i thought the way it handled their characters was pretty good for a minecraft roleplay and i find the fact that it caused so much discourse (especially about someone who from what i know wasnt even a main writer for it?) pretty stupid lmao. especially when i see tommy fans saying the finale sucked when from what i know tommy was one of the people who had a huge part in writing it?? lmao 😭 (not hating on tommy or his fans i just think its funny). i think that expecting a perfect and neat story of abuse on a MINECRAFT ROLEPLAY full of a bunch of minecraft streamers in their teens/early twenties was asking for disappointment.

i think the finale ended up being really profound especially with the irl stuff going on at the time (and what was to come in the future). how broken friendships played such a huge role on the server and just a year or so later many of the irl friendships would be broken. one thing that especially got to me was how much of a point was made that immortality wasnt right and it was important to live your life and enjoy it with the people you love while you can; that the best things are temporary because you can appreciate them. it was a natural evolution of c!dreams character of course (a necromancer who wanted his world to go back to how it used to be) but the fact that the finale streams happened only a few months after techno’s actual passing was not lost on me.

as for the final couple minutes themselves, i am a little conflicted. i would have loved the story to end with everyone keeping their memories and the idea that they’ll have to figure out how to live after doing everything theyve done; how to make peace with everyone WITH their memories. i’m not sure how season 2 would have gone but the fact is that we’ll never get a season 2 and that this is the ending we’re left with. especially how in a way c!dreams plan to “reset” the server seemed to come to fruition; i think it would have been a better ending for his and the other characters if again they had to live with their memories of what theyd done and try to move on like that. it wasnt really the type of ending that i was hoping the dsmp would have, but i think it served its purpose well. love the c!discduo being friends though!! and i also love seeing fics that take place during “season 2” and after the nuke went off, those always end up being super interesting to me.

6. any of my species headcanons are EXTREMELY basic lmao. duck hybrid c!quackity, creeper hybrid c!sam, goat hybrid c!tubbo, etc etc. i have no big headcanons i’d say - i totally see c!tommy and c!dream as both being 100% human though. i’d say thats my only real headcanon regarding hybrids and species. ive got a lot of headcanons but not too much about that specifically.

Talk to Me: Part 2

(I still do not know if it's a chapter-)(@sfdsds I did it :D) Part 1, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6 I almost hit 4000 this one! also, good news. My sister helped edit this one, so there should be way less spelling mistakes.

It had been 6 long years since Dream had gotten out of his stone prison, and Nightmare still had to put up with his nitwit of a foe.

Nightmare could remember his greeting to Dream when he broke free of the stone that once encased him. It was saddening to know that Dream would never know the sneers that Nightmare had spat at his statue, but perhaps it was better that Dream had to learn everything after he got out of his penitentiary, Nightmare got the chance to watch Dream's torture.

It was sad that he had gotten over it in the first few months, Nightmare would have loved to savor it.

He would have loved to kill Dream shortly after he woke up, but alas Dream's magic pulled him away before Nightmare got the chance.

Nightmare had managed to find him an hour or so after, but Dream had gotten lucky and ran into Ink and the nuisance Blue, resulting in a battle.

Blue was well known as a general in the Omega Timeline, namely for his idea to assemble a group called the Stars, who more often than not get called The Star Sanses due to the overwhelming number of Sanses that would volunteer. The Stars' main goal is to ensure the safety of the people in their respective AUs, or defend against threats like Nightmare and his gang.

Blue would usually take the lead and fight off Nightmare on his own as whoever had volunteered to help Blue at that time took care of his gang or evacuated the people of the AU.

Ink would on the rare occasion join the Star Sanses or the Stars would help Ink fight off entities that tried to destroy creator-made AUs.

Ink had even worked with Nightmare in the past, no one in the Omega Timeline was exceptionally thrilled about it, and many still aren't, calling Ink a trader to the AUs and the Omega Timeline. The only reason he was still allowed to visit the Omega Timeline was that they literally couldn't stop him and he had proven on multiple occasions that he had no intentions of purposely threatening them or taking the side of the Bad Sanses, (another name for Nightmare's group.)

" NIIIIIGHTMAAARE!!!!! "

Speak of- well, think of the devil and he shall come, the gremlin of an artist Ink emerged from a black splotch that had grown on the wall.

" Yes, Ink? " Ink's visits have only gotten more common when Nightmare decided he needed help in spreading negativity. The Guardian of Negativity had picked up a few skeletons in the past that now made up his crew and Ink had thought that they were just the perfect people to hang out with, their murderous tendencies only made it better for him.

" I'm BORED "  Ink winded as he trotted to lay his head on Nightmare's desk. 

This is why Nightmare more often than not hated when Ink chose to intrude, it was either to continue his prank war with Nightmare's men or pester the King of Negativity. " Error said I already overspent my time today, Horror doesn't want me in the kitchen, " Nightmare held back a relieved sigh " Killer's too busy with his cats, and Dust said 'No' "

But he couldn't deny that he sometimes had interesting ideas or confusing, to say the least. " So you've come to me, I doubt that I will be any help in cessing your boredom so farewell Ink. "

" You've got to be doing something! " Ink wined.

" Yes, I am. " Nightmare hoped that Ink would lose interest if spoke as little as possible.

" Then what's cha doing? " Ink pressed.

" Work. "

" What kind? "

"Getting rid of Dream kind. "

…

Why did he say that? He could feel the oily sensation of Ink's yellow vial draining. The artist was far too expressive for someone without a soul and far too excited to talk about ideas to get Dream out of Nightmare's way.

Then again Ink had already drilled the fact that Nightmare wasn't allowed to kill Dream or do anything else that would keep Dream away forever. It would throw off the balance of positivity and negativity after all. And Nightmare had already learned his lesson about pushing the balance too far.

A few years after he had started his reign of terror on the multiverse he had figured that Ink was over-exaggerating about the balance, and chose to push it in his favor.

That was probably the thing he will forever regret, seconds after he tipped the scale further than he ever had Ink was upon him. Nightmare had spared with him before, but he had not realized how much Ink had held back.

However, he does forget that sometimes, just due to the fact that Ink would show up and talk to him casually as of today.

" Soooooo, what the plan! " Ink Chirped

" There is none currently, " Nightmare sighed.

" No ideas? Absolutely none? "

The goopy skeleton groaned, " I've thought of one, but I doubt it would work, " The gremlin at the edge of Nightmare's desk stared intently waiting for him to explain further. " A tracking device, but I fear that would work due to the quality of the Omegatime's defenses. "

The artist's grin only grew at the idea for some odd reason that Nightmare would never understand. " You positive? " Nightmare nodded unimpressed. " I don't think you can be. " Ink giggled

" Ink, that was a terrible joke. " Nightmare groaned and messaged his nasal ridge already done with the dumbass of a protector.

" Thank you! But I'm not kidding, you can't be sure till you try! " The artist cheered.

Suspicious if you asked Nightmare, Ink was fully aware of the defense of the Omega Timeline, Nightmare was fairly sure Ink helped work on them to make it.

So what was he planning? Whatever it was, Nightmare would have no power in stopping it, he knew that for sure. Ink had the beings that created the multiverse behind him, and everyone who knew of the Creators knew how much they loved stories. It's why the multiverse was made, after all, one was not enough.

Could Ink be starting another advent for his dear Creators? Ink had done such a thing in the past before, but it was impossible to know the end of it. Nightmare was relatively positive that Ink hadn't even known the change it would bring last time.

There's a high chance it would be a " Happy ending, " but that leaves the question of whose happy ending would it be?

There was no point in overthinking it anyway, the artist would get this rolling one way or another.

" Very well, I'll talk to Sci about it later " Nightmare deflated.

" YAY! " The gremlin celebrated, " Anything else " his arms now folded on Nightmare's desk as he rested his head.

Nightmare slapped on an over-expatriated (Maybe not) smile and stared directly at the artist, " Paperwork. " Ink's smile quickly morphed into a frown, which only drove the embodiment of negativity to continue. " It's genuinely not that bad Ink, I just sit in one spot all day, reading things that could be summed up in a singular sentence, but are spread out to be 5 pages long. " Ink had lain down in fetal position in front of Nightmare's desk and released a drawn-out squall of despair as Nightmare continued going into detail on how he filled out the paperwork he had to do regularly.

Ink made his way out not even a fourth of the way through Nightmare's lecture, saying he was going to hang out with Error. Hadn't he come here because he overspent his time with Error?

It didn't matter, Nightmare wasn't completely exaggerating what he had to do anyway.

To be honest, Nightmare had been putting this off, he did not want to gather the easily aggravated bloodthirsty mongrels that he adopted more than he had to, they got together by themselves more than enough as it is.

Killer was either in the TV room or his room with the large number of cats that he had picked up thinking Nightmare wouldn't know, (he knew.) The only reason the goopy guardian had yet to say anything was that killer was doing an exceptional job at keeping them away from the main part of the castle, and out of Nightmare's sight, – He'd always hated cats. –

Dust has had a multitude of places he'd hide; random places in the quarters, the TV room, the living room, or his chemistry lab he made deeper in the dead forest surrounding the castle. It had become a normal thing for Dust to come back from said place with a poison he was prepared to shove down Killer's throat, only to be stopped by Horror.

Speaking of the skeleton, Horror would spend his time reading a recipe book in the dining room or kitchen, sometimes he'd be found working in his garden on the roof of the castle. Horror was a magnificent cook, and considering how little food Horror's AU had, what he could do in the kitchen was impressive. It was impossible to say no to Horror when it came to eating together, reason one being the massive skeleton wouldn't take no for an answer, and reason two, his cooking was just that good.

And that's the reason why Nightmare was not about to get them together himself, two of them would kill each other if Nightmare didn't forbid it and Horror would get around to it for him, so why should he do it?

A knock rang through his office shortly after the clock hit 6:00, a moment or so later his office door creaked open revealing a large skeleton with a large glowing red eye-light and a gagged hole above it.

" Boss, time for, dinner. " Nightmare stood from his desk and nodded, acknowledging Horror as he made his way to join his men at the dinner table.

Horror and Nightmare walked in comfortable silence down the dimly lit hallways that led to the dining hall.

Nightmare's Palace was exceptionally large, and what do you do with large empty spaces? You fill it with the most expensive things you can find. The stone brick walls of the hallways held paintings from AUs that only made some of the finest art, some walls even presented some of Ink's works. There was the every-once-in-a-while table with some form of decoration that sat beneath the paintings between doors.

A feeling of calmness lingered in the castle regardless of his oppressive aura, the soft warm glow of the torches left light on the tranquil paintings of scenery that lined the walls, the light scent of lavender that rested in the air, gentile purple tapestries, lined with gold that hung by doors, the same carpet stretched to the end of every hallway.

The doors to the dining hall were a grand spectacle, the dark brown wood carved to showcase mountains of food beneath the radiant full moon in a sky full of sparkling stars.

The dining room was, well, more of a wide hallway with a long table. It was unnecessary, to say the least, but if you're going to own a castle you have to go all out, do you not?

His men sat at their usual seats near the west entrance, Killer claimed the seat right to Nightmare at the head of the table, and Horror sat across from him with Dust by his side.

Nightmare had to only sit before the rambunctious gremlins that he cared for started to clear everything Horror made off the table, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, peas, and roast, all being added to the non-existent stomachs of the skeletons.

" Before you all run off to do whatever you do without me looking, I wish to discuss the next attack. " The King of Negativity announced. 

Horror nodded and went back to his larger portion of food, Dust grunted an affirmative, and Killer said something through a mouth full of roast.

His men were already halfway into their meal and dinner had started only a minute or so ago, there was no point in waiting for them to finish, they would all be done and waiting by the time he concluded, " Our next operation is not that complicated, it will take place in two to three days, and our main goal will be to place a tracker on every star in hopes that we find the Omega Timeline. "

Nightmare's right-hand man Killer shoved another spoonful of mashed potatoes into his mouth and pointed his spoon at his boss, " Don't they have, like, defenses that are impossible to get through? "

" Indeed, but I have confidence that this will yield interesting results. " Nightmare pushed the utensil out of his face with one of his appendages. " I will be taking my leave to speak with Sci after dinner. I will be gone for at most an hour, so I swear to Toby Fox if I come back and something or someone is on fire, injured, or broken you will be punished regardless of who did it. Understood? "

" TOO LATE FOR THAT BOSS! " Killer jumped out of his seat and ran out of the room.

" If it's Killer that does something then neither of you get punished. " Nightmare groaned, ignoring how sly Dust was feeling, standing so that he could make a portal to Sci's and get this over with quicker, only to be stopped by a growl coming from behind him.

Right, he hadn't eaten yet. The Guardian of Negativity did not need to eat, he got his strength from the negative emotions of others, alas that was not something Horror would put up with. Nightmare sighed as he filled his plate with what little remained of their meal, reclaiming his seat at the head.

Dust disappeared with his dishes in tow. Horror started to clear the table as Nightmare finished his plate and handed it off to the large skeleton. Now nothing stopped Nightmare from going to Sciencetale, so off he went.

Sciencetale was filled with many futuristic clichés of the creators. Nightmare would normally spend the time to find a more original AU, but this world was already informed of the multiverse, was the best when it came to any form of science, and was willing to work with the so-called villains of the multiverse. So there was not much point in looking for one that had a better story.

Nightmare placed himself in the office of the sans of the universe in hopes that he could find him in his desk before the scientist got into a coffee high. Sadly, it appeared that would not be the case today. The coffee addict was nowhere to be found.

Magnificent.

The Negative Guardian scanned for the feeling of coffee that Sci somehow managed to create. He wasn't kidding. Sci had littoral made a feeling that could only be described as coffee.

Said feeling was basically flooding the break room. 

Grand. He was already in a coffee high. Well, there's no getting that skeleton to sleep for the next 3 to 8 days, so may as well abuse the hyperactivity in the scientist's head.

So began the wait. The embodiment of negativity was not about to wander the halls of a neutral AU. He did not want to put up with the monsters who had a dislike for him. The AU may be neutral, but the people still tend to have strong opinions on whose side they should be on.

Sci was one of the few who completely stopped caring about who asked him for help. Littoral Death had asked him for help before and the scientist didn't even bat an eye at the fact that a god was in his office but instead asked if he could study said god's magic. It wasn't even because it was a god's magic, but because it was a random thing he'd never seen before. Nightmare swore Sci had no fears.

The highly caffeinated skeleton appeared a few minutes later, each hand holding a full coffee pot. He placed himself at his desk, gulped some of the coffee right out of the pot, and looked Nightmare in the singular eye-light, " So what do I owe the all-powerful guardian of Negativity for his visit? " Sci sneered, clearly tired regardless of the amount of caffeine he had consumed.

" Respect for one thing, " Nightmare growled. " and I would like to know if you could possibly make a tracking device that would still work even in the Omega Timeline. "

Sci reframed from spitting out the gulp of coffee, " The Omega Timeline? Heh, and here I thought you didn't have a humorous. "

" I am serious Sci,  " He was not about to acknowledge the joke. " I will be needing them soon. "

" We both know I can't do that, " a coffee pot was waved at Nightmare.

" I am aware, but I have reason to believe something may come from it. "

" Like what? You and your brother go to therapy and the multiverse lives in peace? "

Sci really was trying to anger the embodiment of negativity, wasn't he? " No. Why would I ever try to reconnect with that- that hornet! "

" So my first assumption was right, " Sci grumbled. " Is there any particular reason I shouldn't ignore your request other than you're the oh-so-powerful king of Negativity? "

A growl came from Nightmare as his extra appendages lashed behind him, " Ink, Ink was fairly persistent in getting me to use this course of action. No, I do not know why, but there's no point in prolonging whatever the Brush has planned. It will happen regardless of what we do. " There was no point in wasting time for Sci to ask the question "why."

" So some oddly big event it is then. " The coffee addict shrugged as he finished one of the pots. " I'll get to work on making some more. "

" More? You already have something that may work? "

" I doubt it will work, but it's the best one we have, bonus, it has a mic~ " The enthusiasm died just as fast as it came. " Plus, you probably want them within the next two days. There is no way I could design and make a tracker that would work in that time anyway. "

" Good to know you figured out the drill. " Nightmare growled for the last time as he left through the swirling black void that made his portal.

Sci had in fact delivered. He had managed to make five trackers and a device that would display the location of each one, and play what the trackers could hear.

The placement of the devices went as planned, they caused a spike of negativity large enough to warn Dream of their presence and fought the Star Sanses long enough to plant every tracker on multiple of their personnel. Just like Nightmare had planned. An in and out mission, after all there was no point in letting his men get injured for nothing.

They waited a few hours before looking at the trackers' statuses, everyone knew the Stars would stick around after an AU was attacked to help its residents either evacuate or get back in order. So, there wasn't exactly a point in looking at it immediately.

When the time did come though no one had any expectations for it to work. Why would they? The only people who could possibly break into the Omega Timeline would be Ink, – who is already allowed in – and Error. That next question would be why did Error break in? He and Ink had a truce, it would be stupid of even the destroyer to infringe it.

The point is no one was going to break into the Omega Timeline in any form. So why were they doing this? Ink. Everyone knew that when the Creators wanted entertainment they would use their Protector of Creation. And even if the first attempt didn't work they would always find another way to get an ending to their stories.

The X-event being an excellent example. All through Ink had blabbered to him about how it could've been much worse if he hadn't made a truce with Error all those years ago. And the fact that Ink was able to share it in the detail that he did caused the Guardian of Negativity a large amount of concern and fear.

Truly that was just one example of Ink pushing a change in the universe, – or a prank. – Honestly, most of them were pranks. 

When the time came expectations were not. And so far they were correct.

 Nightmare couldn't even care about the fifth tracker. Who was it? Why weren't they in the Omega Timeline? " Who placed that tracker!? " Nightmare snarled the question aloud.

" That would have been you, Boss. " Killer chuckled, spinning in a random office chair he had snatched from an AU.

It was the tracker that Nightmare had managed to throw on Dream, grand, but what in all hell was Dream doing in a random UnderPeace!? The AU had a simple concept, what if the humans and monsters didn't fight each other, but another force? They technically lived peacefully, but there were tensions between the two races so more often than not the AU was declared neutral. This one was no exception.

He disliked that he had to look further into the AU's history to find out what made it special. But he especially didn't like the answer.

The thing that made this UnderPeace different wasn't anything drastic, it was just a legend, a myth, a story. A tale that Nightmare loathed with all of his soul, his narrative. Or more precisely his and Dream's.

They were never actually there per se, but the story was thought of in the AU. But once again the story was told wrong. Well, less wrong and more of… some details were left out.

Without much of an explanation as to why Dream was even in the AU, they checked the audio. After all, if Dream was still in the AU instead of the Omega Timeline something important had to be happening.

Soft hics could be heard if someone listened close enough, Otherwise nothing. Looking at the history of the tracker it was online for a little longer than an hour before going offline for a few minutes and coming back in UnderPeace. The sound consisted of choked sobs, quiet whimpers, a thunk, and the rustling of fabric.
