a lick of his lips reminds him of his own indulgence - one wine, too many. easy to be greedy when one sits atop the throne; nary an enemy in sight, all those who had once opposed him, now dead. only one remains - the man he had taken as a sort of surrogate son. the blood of the man he had murdered for the throne; heidegger isn't stupid, he knows that the boy can't stand him, knows that their exists a plot between him and his friends. hardly secretive about it when he sees them saunter around the castle together.

it sickens him.

sickens him to think that the boy would want anything other than power. that noctis had such little regard for his throne, he'd not yet even tried to avenge his father. no, no -

no venomous hate, no drawn sword -

instead schemes and plots, passive-aggressive comments and the whispers of a downfall. is the boy so cowardly? so cowardly as to not have challenged him already?! where is his fight?! where is his courage-?!

the king finishes his wine, lashes a tongue across his lips before he spits - red on his tongue and red in his face as he talks.

"all for show, i see-" his speech is slurred, a lazy rise from his throne "is there a blade hidden within that sheath?" he points toward the lad's sword, a half smile hanging onto the edge of his drawl. "come to strike me down?"

and with that, hands pulls open the buttons of his shirt - exposes scarred flesh, his chest - a target, should the boy be so willing.

"get me back for all of the bad i've bought to you and your 'kingdom'" he sneers and snarls "well, here i am. prince noctis; don't let your cowardice get the better of you this time."

he stands still, a slight sway in his step.

"the royal boy, the spoilt boy, the boy never taught one good, fucking thing by his own father. raised as what? a failure-!" his voice raised, he takes a step closer - urges noctis to come at him - his words no longer a growl but instead, a roar. "look at you! so willing to bend the knee to an imposter! to a traitor!"

his lack of soberity does well for him to call himself out, the former chancellor's anger - an attempt to disguise his own begging. perhaps someplace there was guilt - perhaps even a feeling of unworthiness. not that heidegger could admit such a thing, oh no, instead - he urges the boy toward destruction.

be like me, he begs.

"you make me sick, prince noctis; you're weak."

he frowns, holds his shirt closed with one hand as he spares steps past the boy. with one last look back, he scoffs.

"just like your father."

i am not sure whether sending an e-mail about this is the best way to proceed about things, but i thought you might appreciate it over a quick chat close to the gossiping parents of this class. though i will deny if you say i ever referred to them as such. i am worried about our little amelia. as of late, she has been quite disinterested in class and sad. in fact, our classes are a lot more quieter and i do miss her thoughtful observations. is there anything going on at your house? i know this question must sound intrusive, but i assure you i am just worried about you. i am here should you need anything, even if it is just a friendly ear.

Pavitr is so skrunkly💖✨✨💖

I watched across the Spiderverse last week and it was SO GOOD. I was worried that it could suffer from sequelitis but thankfully it didn't. My favorite character is Pavitr Prabhakar, idk he was just so cute and endearing, well all of the new characters are endearing tbh (hopefully I could draw Miguel and Hobie soon?👀) . Also his design is just *chefs kiss* it's also my fave a bit complicated to draw tho.

Pls give him a spinoff series Sony 🛐 actually give the Spider society a spinoff series

Came across a post on pinterest about peonies- how they bloom for 100 years and are thus used to symbolise happy and long marriages. And I can't stop thinking about how Wei Wuxian tossed these peonies at Lan Wangji during his first life.

And I'm also thinking about how Lan Wangji pressed one of those peonies into the notebook on which Wei wuxian transcribed the Lan clan rules, on the page which explains the significance of the Lan clan forehead ribbon...

And just like how peonies are said to bloom for a hundred years, Lan Wangji's love for Wei Wuxian never withered even after all those long years...

Edit: okay guys, I just saw an old post on tumblr about the audio drama. In the AD, when Wei Wuxian tosses peonies at Lan Wangji, the music that plays in the background is called 'silent confession'
