random tsv theory i thought up:
this might be farfetched, but what if tsv got harvested?? basing off the sun in the video of him fucking dying, i think the harvested do actually see the sun. (or atleast hallucinate it.) Back in tsv's neighbors notebook guide, the last page before they pretty much went insane from presumably looking at the red strobe light
They very clearly stated in their final message that the sun is back. further kinda showing that the harvested hallucinate the sun coming back. They also seem to have some sort of consciousness and awareness (?) even AFTER they look at the light because of the previous things they wrote, like how tsv said that entire poem before he went silent. Maybe he saw something in that ship that caused him to get harvested? idk, this is just a theory
a game theory..(im sorry)
uhh idk have my rambling bye guys
#i hope this isnt true cause it would be sad as FUCK god#the sun vanished#thesunvanished#tsv#the sun vanished theory#epic#uhhhmmh#i love this silly twitter arg#(i am fucking dying)

did you know gone fission and joining forces almost didnt exist?
its so endearing to see people have shots from the gone fission and joining forces comics as their profile pictures, even now some years after they came out. those two comics were one of the few bigger projects i got to do while working on ttr.
the wild thing about those comics is that they almost didnt exist. they were going to be rendered in the brand art style a la Team LHAAFBBHQ, but because the art team was swamped with work, no one could really make time to take on such a massive thing on top all the other massive things they do on a daily basis. when the time came to put together the ARG for the silly meter, the PR and art leadership at the time saw an opportunity for me as a young budding graphic designer trained to create blog posts: what if we expanded those blog posts into a full blown comic?
frankly, its a miracle that comics ever came to be. i hadnt been on the team for more than a year yet at the point when our writers began writing the script for gone fission. i had NO idea what i was getting into. gone fission part 1 came out relatively on time, but part 2 came out WAY later because i underestimated how much time and effort i needed to put into the graphics. but at the end of it all, seeing the communitys reaction to it, it was clear we did good.
and so we did it again with joining forces, obviously.
when time came to do the ARG for field offices, leadership at the time was a little bit apprehensive to do another comic. on the graphics side of things, i had done the bulk of the work for gone fission, and it was evident that it had taken some toll on me. they werent about to throw me into yet another project if i wasnt sure about it. but even if it was a huge undertaking, i wanted to do again. the payoff was well worth it. and seeing people with those profile pictures still makes it worth it.
joey did a brief backstage toontown thread on twitter talking about his side of things, in case you missed it.
a lot of people were involved with both, people like joey, brie, and jake for the script, parts of the art team to help refine the appearance, and a lot of other team members from multiple departments to reaffirm that im doing at least a half decent job, haha.
i posted this on twitter (as per usual) some time ago but here it is again. my favorite panel from joining forces, uncropped and without text:
thats my ramble. thank you for continuing to love gone fission and joining forces :)

you know, Sonic fandom on twitter has an interesting toxic development. I´ll tell you under the "read more" thing
That´s it, under the "read more" bridge. Because I consider talking about the toxicity of the fandom as somenthing that also contributes on having a trauma or anxiety about it, somenthing also toxic. So I´ll understood if you want to not known nothing about the theme
The thing on twitter (now X) is... Whith the ships... (Sonaze and Silvaze on this case) I investigate a little bit of it, just for find this post
Look´s funny and exagerated, but look at the numbers, one MILLION reproductions and TWO THOUSAND likes, that´s far more atention than what ANY ship fanart can get. And you can´t just block that people because there´s A LOT.
Sonic ships aren´t so popular on the platform, so is very VERY easy that someone can come and saboutage the other ship whith personal hate, but there´s an added problem...
...It´s that some popular ships acount are beggining to protest about this behaviour on their art acount... Paying atention about those haters problem and exagerating them.
That behaviour, is extremely common on the app. It´s practiccally impossible to do nothing about it, It's a big feedback loop: people protest about somenthing silly/hate onto somenthing, then some people arge about it, making the problem even bigger because is more visible, and people gain even more prejudices about the fandom, clasifying everyone as toxic, and then more clueless people see it, and get paranoid about if that´s true or not, someone critics some coment harmesly but the prejudices and trauma of the fandom being toxic, makes them think that they are being attacked.
Another point: half of the fandom is autistic, a condition that not only can make you more sensible and have excesive emotions about "normal things" but is. also. a social. disability.
And its very VERY anoying, you can undestood bad a frase and take it involuntary personal on a painfull level when it was a harmeless thing, and people can misunderstood your intentions, mistaking you whith a weirdo or a dangerous person (As an real example that ocurried to me, I once ran into an autistic person who the second thing he asked me was what my sexual orientation is, I didn´t even knew that person). Luckily, social disability can be treated effectively by going to specialized therapy centers.
It´s just a suposition, but maybe, MAYBE, some "problems" of the fandom there was caused by autistic people who did not go to therapy and was too hyperfixated about their ship, ignoring that they maybe was being rude about it.
The conclusion is simple, Twitter prays more atention to drama and wars than the art, that's why ship wars have more atention than any fanart or positive vive.
All of this may looks worrysome, but I promise to you that artist cancelatios or masive hate aren´t that common, in fact, you would must to have the worst luck in the world for someone to cancel you on any platform as a small fanart account. It´s just a very big acount thing.
Its more common to being ignored or receive positive coments about your art, that´s why I hate when big acounts talk about fandom toxicity so often when they aren´t even a "drama" acount
And even if someone comments that he didn't like your content, the other positive comments on the sections helps A LOT whith digesting critics and hate. That's why I love positive coments more than the likes

how do you do?
I love to make Stuff: writing things, artsy things, music things, whole buncha things. I also post a lot of nonsense thoughts, and share the cool things I find around the web, especially artsy fun things and stuff that makes internet surfing a little easier.
You’ll see some swearing in the tags, but any jokes on the ruder side I keep tagged; block #not so family friendly if you don't want to see that.
I have a Good Omens sideblog on @bananafishgorillashoelace (with a dash of nutmeg) :D
I'm proudly queer and genderfluid! Not entirely out everywhere, still figuring myself out but generally just trying to do whatever feels fun. All of my trans/queer/questioning siblings out there; I see you, I hear you, and I love you /p (and to folks who are aspec in any form, you're the freakin coolest and I hope something nice happens to you this week! this is entirely unrelated to me, I just hope you have a great day!)
If you need anything tagged just shoot me a message, I’m easy going and don’t mind it. Actually just message me generally I like talking to people :>
More info about this blog and the stuff I do under the cut, but thank you for stopping by regardless of the reason why ^^
And remember folks: Don't like what you see? Blocking is free! (and constructive criticism is recieved gladly!)
I exist on YouTube as AychTooOh, making music shitposts, playlists, and the occasional fan edit! I try to upload when I can; if you have any playlist ideas send them my way :D
I have made a Wug Picrew, so you can make a cute creature from child linguistics (this is one of my favourite things)
Sometime I write fanfiction on AO3, on the rare occasion that a silly pairing or a scenario socks me in the face with inspiration
I exist on Themeplaza too, occasionally making silly fun 3DS system themes/splashes! (and if you have any requests, shoot me a DM and I'll see what I can do!)
I have some old art on Newgrounds; very very inactive over there, but that's where you might see art I post for collabs :P
Aside from my GO sideblog, I'm also working on turning my tag #q’s internet trinkets into a neocities page! Check back soon for updates, and please send me stuff you think might fit ^^
I also have a pretty hefty original project of my own that I've been chipping away at for the better part of two to three years! If the fates align, you might see it this year!! ;D
Here are some cool people I think are very neat that you should follow too
@paperoxalis - very skilled 2D and stop-motion animator, sculptor, artist, and writer too! They recently released an adorable animation you can watch here :)
@scottysee - artist, writer and animator working on so many projects; always amazed by their work! You can join their Discord server here :)
@unknown-is-aaaa - very talented artist with an interest in plenty of fandoms, and a heck of a cool-looking art style! They also have a Twitter you can check out here :)
@galandrielle - long-time writer with a heck of a story to tell! Check out her work here! (I’d recommend starting with Michael and John - A Story of Friendship)
@canceltheact - more like a group, but these guys on the theory team are the best and are such wonderful friends to have! <3
@midnightnautilus - artist/animator/writer/squid, creator of the amazing Markiplier AU “A Bit of Madness”!
@backlitrabbit - ARG enthusiast, aspiring writer and all-round very cool human. Check out their YouTube channel here :D
#putting this in my pocket for later - stuff I save for future things
#things q thinks are cool - posts that make me go “:o” (I have many a subtag for this that usually starts with "and by cool i mean (adjective)")
#Q’s creations - the stuff I make :D (don't question the capital letter, i messed up)
#friends of q - things from my friends :)
#q’s internet trinkets - Fun/useful internet things I find that you can use (mostly free if I can help it, bc fun is essential to the human experience even if you’re tight on cash)
#q rambles - my funny little soapbox
#asks go brrr - asks :D please send me asks they're very fun
#not so family friendly - Not entirely PG-13 stuff I find interesting/funny, but still want to share. Block this tag if you want a clean dash, I won’t judge.
#bag of rainbow things - like the things I find cool tag, but LGBTQ+ community/education/history related. (and also probably personally related to me ahaha ^^;)
#yay recipes! - recipes from places! Some of these may also be in the pocket tag; I’ll work on sorting them eventually
#q’s crow obsession - for all your Corvid needs
#wiggly frequencies - the hills are alive with the sound of muse (yes I’m making a DaThings reference on my pinned post cause her stuff rocks. Anyway this is where the music stuff lives)
#because funni - *slams whiteboard* LAUGH!
(ps if you're wondering where I got these cool little gifs from they're from blinkies.cafe and they rule <3) (I also got this star divider from here!) (last updated 12/05/24)

also like, as someone who likes silly ARG stuff a lot
Who's Lila is genuinely one of the best examples of it I've encountered
partially just because the Daemon is a fun concept, especially it being a fucking (free) dlc you get on steam, including the fucking supernatural entity that gives it to you directing you to the steam page to go get it
but also because it's like... the ARG stuff isn't just because it's fun or cool, it's part of the core theming of the game in a very fun way
also the specific character the requisite "go to an in-character twitter account" chooses to give you deeper understanding of is like... i have thoughts about it, but those verge more into real spoilers than the vague "there are supernatural entities in this game" above, so i shan't say
anyway
genuinely love this game

okay for anyone curious: (Copied from my twitter and added onto)
god i can just feel how uninterested in protocol I am because I still haven't listened to the newest episode i dont know what it is I just don't care T_T Like I'm still relistening to TMA instead- I think it's because so far it really is just "haha workplace comedy" whereas TMA was Mostly the horror stories and statements. Now there's like- too much background stuff in my opinion and it's so boring to me. I'm probably the only person who thinks this but people are losing their minds over haha how silly the gang is and their banter and stuff and im like I didn't sign up for a workplace comedy I want like. Horror stories. And I know it'll ramp up at some point but it's just :/ y'know? Like I honestly don't know why it was labeled as "TMA 2" when it's completely different- a different world, and different way to tell the stories. Like it just makes me wish even more that Jonny would just release a book of short horror stories. SO MANY people would just on that SO fast dude. He's an amazing author for short stories, but long ones with in depth plot? I have to admit, he's... Not that great. and also, another like. Shitty opinion: the fact that there was "ARG" elements before the actual series dropped to me is just. idk........ ... kind of dumb....? sorry I really hate stuff like that actually. I'm not a fan of "You have to read these things and figure out these pictures and these codes and meanings before listening to actually understand a ton of references we'll be making early on." because apparently they're making TONS of references so far. idk it actually makes me really sad how much I don't like it :/
Like it just. Doesn't feel like TMA, and I hate that's it's advertised as such. It feels like such a trick to get fans chomping at it. I know it's still early on and I shouldn't judge, and like, I did like the statement in the second episode! It was so good it made me wish for more of that! more short scary stories! that's what TMA was based on! But now a majority of the episode is. Banter. And it's annoying and I don't care. Like, you're advertising it as TMA2. This feels nothing like TMA at all. Why are you calling it TMA2. Call it something completely different and just say it's an AU of TMA. This is so annoying.
Like, I'm one of the few people who adored season 1 of TMA. There was still background main-story stuff happening, but it was still mostly just scary stories, what I signed up for.
This would be all well and good if it wasn't called TMA2. "But they SAID it would be different!" Then give it a different name and stop referencing the OG series.
Idk these are just my half-assed rambles please don't get mad at me if you disagree, it's just how I feel personally. Not saying people can't enjoy I don't care what anyone else does, but it's just a massive letdown for me personally who's come to ADORE TMA as my favorite piece of media (I mean, just look at my blog LOLLL I really love TMA and Jon has come to mean SO much to me personally.)
hhhh I hate to admit it but i'm not enjoying protocol so far...

Duchy Conversation 11
[The following transcript details the conversation is between one of the Crown ARG Discord members and Duke on Twitter]
Donti: “Hello! I'm back again, hehe”
Duke: “Hello there Donti, how have you been little lamb?”
Donti: “Hi Duke :D I’ve been doing great! My friend gave me a wonderful gift yesterday!
How have you been?”
Duke: “Oh? That is splendid to hear! What gift did you receive? I myself have been doing well, thank you for asking. Things have been.. Quieter recently”
Donti: “She gave me a little compass that always points to her quarters to keep me from getting lost. ^^ It was becoming a problem, you see.
..Oh,,, is it because you and Duchess have been spending less time with each other?”
Duke: “That is truly heartwarming to hear such a thoughtful gift was given to one so deserving like yourself. I hope you cherish it, those gifts will never fade from memory.
I would not say my sister and I are necessarily spreading apart but.. The moment she stops this silly plan of hers we will both be off for the better.”
Donti: “I heard she had some projects, and I have a few guesses to what they are... But she never told me what they were ^^'
Is it really as bad as you make it out to be?”
Duke: “She wants to get in contact with our "hosts", a word that I find revolting. My sister stumbled upon these missing person posters of the people we used to be and once an idea is inside her head it is nigh impossible to get it out. I do not understand why she needs to do this, why she is so intent on causing problems for us both. I adore her, but she is being foolish.”
Donti: “Is it for simple curiosities sake? Or does she want to.. Cohabit the body like some of the others do?”
Duke: “No matter what curiosity killed the cat. We are who we are now, let sleeping lions rest. Her plan is idiotic no matter what the outcome she hopes to achieve.”
Donti: “That makes sense.. You said you've tried to convince her otherwise?”
Duke: “Indeed. My efforts so far have been.. Lackluster. I do not suppose you would mind dissuading her the next time you two speak?”
Donti: “I will try! But I doubt I will be successful.. You said she is very headstrong, and if she won't listen to you, she probably won't listen to me either..”
Duke: “You underestimate yourself. You are something she has an interest in, your word holds weight with her whereas others do not. You dissuading her could be the last step in ending this.”
Donti: “If you say so, I will do as you ask ^^ We are friends, after all.
Onto a different note... Have you met the new... Person? Their name is Chorus, if I remember correctly”
Duke: “Indeed we are! Tell me, besides the gift what else has been going on in your life, little lamb?
Chorus.... Hm. It sounds.. Familiar”
Donti: “Yes, that’s another thing that’s happened. Jay was one of the ah, non-Dreamons staying over. 14 foot tall, he’s quite hard to miss. He was coronated recently, and the Dreamon named themself Chorus”
Duke: “Oh! Oh what a simpleton I am! I have indeed met Chorus, although... Ah, I won't divulge in case they do not wish for it to be known. They are a fascinating person.
Oh good, you are aware Jay is Chorus. I was worried I was going to have to keep secrets!
May I let you in on one anyway?”
Donti: “Of course.”
Duke: “I prefer Jay.”
Donti: “Ah, I think people in the Mineshaft feel the same..”
Duke: “I haven't even met Chorus yet, in true honesty. Not face to face at least. Their existence feels like a mockery but I must nod my head at them nonetheless. The strong live while the weak die, tis life.”
Donti: “When we met them, they were quite blunt... But they said they would let Jay out eventually, and I guess we felt better about that..
How have you been, spending your time, with Duchess so involved with her project?”
Duke: “Will they truly? Or was that just a lie to settle the masses? After all, it is not hard to fool those stuck with love in their hearts.”
Donti: “They said they would eventually... Words must mean something...
Right?”
Duke: “I have been doing well, thank you. I have been introduced to a new game called ah, Grand Theft Auto? It is rather confusing but I do enjoy the pretty lights at night.”
Duke: “Words mean nothing, my dear. They are worth less than air.”
Donti: “... I see,,,”
Duke: “Words only hold meaning to the foolish or the dumb, little lamb. It is best you learn that.”
Donti: “And what about promises?”
Duke: “Ah, promises. What a tricky thing. Tell me, do you think an eel would break a promise? a platypus as well?”
Donti: “... I guess they would, if it would serve their purposes... But they are just simple animals who don't know the weight behind them...
Surely thinking beings would put some weight behind them?”
Duke: “Neither the platypus nor the eel would keep a promise. They are indeed just simple animals as you put it, they do not understand the full extent.
Tell me, Donti, what is humanity? Where did we originate from?”
Donti: “Ah... I guess most of us originate from a single cell. A dot of consciousness
The ability of 'humanity' is because of a large brain, and an ability of higher thought,,,”
Duke: “And these exact same animals originate from this very same dot.
Promises are worth nothing to the platypus and the eel, why would it matter to a human? What makes humanity so high and mighty for such a worthless thing to matter?
Promises may be exchanged between loved ones, that I do understand. It is an oath taken between two people, it is meant to be solemn. I promised my sister I would do anything to protect her and I will stand by that to my dying days. Between friends and strangers however?
Between friends and strangers, little lamb, do not be afraid to crush fools who make a promise to you.
Whales have large brains, are we less than a whale?”
Donti: “But is it so foolish, my friend, to trust? For I to trust you? We are not family, we are not each other's loved ones. Is it truly strong to disregard words and promises, when they bring you joy and companionship?”
Duke: “It is not foolish to trust me, I am your friend. I care about your wellbeing. It is foolish to trust other people though - they are not like you and I, they are uncivilized and cruel.
It would be a wonderful world to walk around with your heart on your sleeve and trust in the air, but that is not this world. That is not the animal world.
Do not fret though! You have my sister and I, little lamb, and that is all you need. No one else has your best interest at heart like us, for why would I take time telling you these things otherwise? I do not wish to see you get hurt.”
Donti: “Of course, where would I be without you two? You two are some of my closest friends. I shudder at a life where we had never met.
Life would be so dull”
Duke: “Indeed. I am pleased you have my sister and I to depend upon, as we depend upon you. You are so kind and so trusting, so friendly without a thought... I can only think in horror what may have happened if we had not stumbled upon you. The world is cruel, little lamb, and the fact you've only barely come out unscathed is nothing short than a miracle.
Without us.... Who knows what could occur? I am happy as always to speak with you Donti, do know this. My ears are always open if you need someone to talk to.”
Donti: “The world is definitely cruel, but unscathed isn't the correct word, unfortunately. Life comes with ups and downs, and I have had my share of both ^^”
Duke: “I am terribly sorry to hear that.”
Donti: “Of course, it all got better, didn't it? You're here :D”
Duke: “No more, I say. Life will be cruel to you no more, not while I'm around.
Exactly, little lamb. I am here and you are here, isn't that wonderful? Living despite all the odds. The strong truly do rule over the weak.”
Donti: “I guess you do rule over the weak, ha! I was wondering.. What makes one weak?”
Duke: “Still so naive! You are endlessly endearing, little lamb. You will see with your own eyes what makes someone weak with time.”
Donti: “So cryptic, Duke hehe
Oh Duke! Have you heard about King? I heard they went missing...”
Duke: “If you fear you are weak then do not. You are young, Donti. A sapling still waiting to grow. My sister and I will protect you until you can do so yourself.
You will learn to be strong, little one, with time. Just do as we say until then, the thought of you getting hurt makes me positively miserable.
Indeed I have. How surprising the most volatile out of all of us goes missing. How strange indeed.”
Donti: “Oh, of course! I take all of your advice to heart!”
Duke: “Honestly.. This is a big fuss about nothing. Why do we simply not look under the couch cushions? I'm sure King is there, acting like an untrained dog wishing for attention.”
Donti: “Oh dear... I think the rest of the Court have been worried enough to do that..
I hope they come back eventually though, theyre worrying a friend of a friend ^^'”
Duke: “King is fine, Donti. I assure you. The Court is simply made up of worriers projecting their anxiety onto you and the rest of the members.
I am not terribly upset at their disappearance but if it is causing you grievance I will attempt to locate them.”
Donti: “Oh, of course! that makes perfect sense ^^ I'll tell the others not to worry
And that would ease my mind, thank you Duke!”
Duke: “I will look then, little lamb, just for you. It will hopefully not take too much time out of my day.”
Donti: “If you were just to keep an eye out? I know you don't like them very much, and you have your own things to do!”
Duke: “It is alright, for you I will search. It is no great loss of my time if it means I may ease yours.”
Donti: “Well.. Duke, do you have any places you frequent? My friend showed me a lovely clearing the other day!”
Duke: “Nature truly is wonderful, isn't it. I enjoy going for walks in the woods, hearing the birds trill and flutter about just out of view is calming. I do also enjoy going to this one shop, Starbucks I believe it is called? They have wonderous teas that are cold, although I find the cup they deliver in perplexing.”
Donti: “Oh? How so?”
Duke: “It goes beyond common sense. The cup is not made of glass, nor wood, nor clay. It is made of this very... Unique material. Then there is the paint on it that isn't paint... How does it stay on the glass then? It does not chip but could that be due to a wonderous sealant? And why do they give these cups out so freely?”
Donti: “Oh! Plastic! Starbucks has them printed. It's a very economically useful modern material, but personally I cannot stand it. They're cheap for Starbucks to make, but they're disposable and do terrible things to the environment, as they don't decompose for several hundred years... Animals who eat them get sick, and often die..”
Duke: “That is disturbing. Why not simply use glass like reasonable people do?”
Donti: “Plastic is simply cheaper to use.”
Duke: “It is just a cup. How much could it cost, eight dollars?”
Donti: “Pennies. :(
They're really really cheap.”
Duke: “Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.”
Donti: “Yea... I think Starbucks lets you use reusable cups, which limits waste ^^”
Duke: “Fascinating. I will keep that in mind for tomorrow.”
Donti: “Do you enjoy going to other places? Or perhaps a favorite animal?”
Duke: “Oh, the animals I favour above all is the Korat and Chinese Li Hua cats. They are truly specimens of perfection, and admittedly quite wonderful to look at as well.”
Donti: “So you like cats! Those two breeds are lovely!”
Duke: “Cats are my sisters and I favourite animal, yes. Those two breeds are indeed lovely which is why I think them best of all.”
Donti: “Hehe, two of my friends look like cats, I think your sister met one of them! The one who gave me the compass? She looks like a cat with lovely little glow marks! And wings!”
Duke: “That sounds fascinating! Is she able to fly?”
Donti: “I believe so, although I've only ever seen her use them to propell herself forwards ^^' The tunnels aren't exactly suitable conditions for flight”
Duke: “I see.. That is interesting. You have quite a colourful array of friends.”
Donti: “I dont think anyone down here is fully human, ha!
I assume you are, your pictures do seem to suggest that!”
Duke: “Indeed I am. Fully human with only ten fingers and toes and all that. Not terribly interesting but something I wear with pride nonetheless.”
Donti: “Ha, and you’re fantastic the way you are!
Unfortunately, I'm afraid I must sign off for the night, sweet dreams, Duke!”
Duke: “I wish you a wonderous rest and a quiet slumber. Sweet dreams, little lamb.”

1, 4, 5, 9, and 24 if you're up for it! i'm interested to see how you would rp spierce >:)
1. What made you decide to roleplay this muse?
I first got hooked on Iris during the Somnium Files ARG, where, through YouTube videos and an in-character Twitter and Discord, Iris herself talked about concepts that were key to the as-yet unreleased game. There’s No Way This Trespassing Idol Can Be This Cute! was the first vid to really grab me, with how in depth she got into describing the in-universe secret society of NAIXATLOZ, and future videos only deepened the mystery and the terror. And this, all before the game was even given a proper release date!
When I finally played it, the emotional weight of her scenes and the brilliance of Jackie Lastra’s performance only confirmed my undying love for this character. And besides, it’s an Uchikoshi game, it was inevitable I’d RP somebody from it. (I’m still holding myself back from RPing Ota. And Mizuki. And Aiba. And maybe even the receptionist.)
4. What made you decide on your URL name?
5. What made you decide on your blog title?
Iris believes she’s being hunted by an evil secret society called NAIXATLOZ, or NAIX (pronounced ‘naiz’) for short. So, naixmoves describes how naix is moving closer to their plans for AI dominance and world rule.
Also, Iris is quite the talented dancer, and what’s a good way to compliment a dancer? Nice moves! If you spell nice as naix…. you get the picture.
9. Favorite three icons of your muse.
Still haven’t done a lot of iconing yet, but:
24. Send ✍ for the mun to take a crack at imitating your muse. Can be a small silly reply or a more in-depth take.
“Every universe has at least one marker, an identifier to separate it from everything else. Sometimes it’s the way humans interact with each other - whether kindness or cruelty is the overriding core of the human soul. Sometimes it’s the things that humans have achieved, through technological advances, magic, or even just pure ambition. Sometimes, humans don’t even exist at all; either they went extinct, or they were never conceived in the first place. And sometimes….
This is going to sound really petty, but one of the only reasons I came to this universe was to see Carpenter Brut live in concert. He didn’t even exist in the previous three universes I visited. But… when I went to go get tickets, they’d all sold out. Not even scalpers had them. Sigh. At this rate, I’m going to have to kidnap one of the ushers and take their place, just to get into the building.”

The Bloke and I have just been to NYC for a week. We have visited once before on our honeymoon in November last year, but as we were there for just over four days we wanted to go back and attempt to see as much as possible that we had missed last time. We chose to go at the beginning of September – arriving on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend – with the hope that the city would be slightly quieter and the following week was back to school.
We wanted to experience both the tourist and non-tourist places, so I spent several weeks before reading blogs and watching vlogs about everything to see and do, mapping out our activities according to each day. This wasn’t set in stone and would allow us to change each daily plan around according to the weather.
We stayed at the Wyndham New Yorker and for the first time ever we received an upgrade to a room on the 40th floor, without even asking. The views were amazing – I didn’t mind the construction work going on as it was fascinating to watch the building development at such a height – and the sunsets were fabulous!

Day One
(Note: this was really day 2 as we arrived at 5.00pm the day before but were so tired we went for a meal and had a short wander around before going to sleep).
Pancakes for breakfast with bacon and maple syrup from the Tik Tock Diner next to the hotel.
Subway pass – 7-Day Metro card for $32. This is perfect for a longer stay as it allows for unlimited subway and bus travel until midnight each day.
Dana’s apartment used in the first Ghostbusters film.
Natural History Museum – dinosaurs, great exhibitions and The Bloke met Dum Dum.
Lunch at Uno Pizzeria and Grill on Columbus Avenue (at the back of the museum). Our server, Parrish, heard our accents and immediately put the football on the TV – I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I wasn’t really a football fan but we had a lovely chat with him. Great food, great service, definitely worth a visit.
Central Park – I had a Bach Partita performed for me by a cellist from Belgium, saw an erhu being played, we walked down to Bow Bridge and Bethesda Terrace and I was delighted to see that the Acapella Soul singers were performing. I first saw these guys in Washington Square in 2010 and have followed their YouTube videos ever since. They’re still amazing. We walked past the Bandshell and down The Mall to the Plaza and the Plaza food court. I ate a beautiful macaron from here.
6 1/2 Avenue – a ‘secret’ street used by locals to cut through the city.

Day Two
Roosevelt Island as the weather was glorious. We got the Roosevelt Island Tramway (which the subway pass can be used on) next to the Queensboro Bridge, which took just a few minutes (there is a subway and bus option too). It was a great decision – there was almost nobody around and we took our time, taking in the amazing views of Manhattan. We walked down to Southport Park where we saw the ruins of the former Smallpox Hospital, and then to the Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park. Stunning.
Serendipity 3 cafe. I ate an amazing buttermilk chicken sandwich and drank an enormous pink lemonade, but they are more famous for their Frrrozen Hot Chocolate and desserts.
Dylan’s Candy Bar. I bought a marshmallow treat, just because.

Day Three
The Met Museum. I was a little disappointed at the rooftop bar was closed, but we saw incredible art works that had been on my Bucket List for a long time.
The Guggenheim. More art, and although I generally prefer modern art over most periods, I found some of it to be a little too much. In one section a video was featured that consisted of a man rolling around on the floor. I’m sure that it means something significant to others, but I didn’t get it.
Paley Park – a small hidden park with a waterfall.

Day Four
The Dominique Ansel Bakery for a Cronut. I’ve been wanting to try one of these for a while, and from the reviews I had read I was expecting a massive queue. We were lucky though – it was almost empty, and I managed to eat my Cronut next to their garden.
Washington Square – a beautiful spot to sit and people watch, with the famous arch and a large fountain.
The Stonewall Monument.
Brunch at Buvette, a small French bistro on Grove Street. I ate waffles with gouda, bacon and syrup and drank freshly squeezed orange juice. I was unsure whether that sort of combination would work, but it totally did.
An ‘American Glob’ ice-cream from the Big Gay Ice-Cream Shop, also on Grove Street. I almost had a ‘Salty Pimp’ instead, which isn’t a sentence that I’m used to writing.
Friends Building, also on Grove Street.
Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment in Sex and the City, on Perry Street.
After returning to the hotel for an afternoon siesta, we went up to Mood Fabrics (featured in Project Runway). I met Swatch, the store mascot. Swatch had obviously had enough of life that day.
Bill’s Bar and Burgers next to the Rockefeller Centre.
The Lego Store. The Bloke was in his own personal heaven.

Day Five
Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn Park. It was a sweltering 30+ degrees, so The Bloke and I tried to shelter in the shade as much as we possibly could while taking in the breathtaking views. The Bloke found the classic shot of the groynes and so spent some time taking his own shots, while I took the opportunity to sit in the breeze.
Walked across Brooklyn Bridge. It was far busier than the last time we did this in November the year before, but it was rather amusing to watch the insane poses being carried out by the Instagrammers.

Day Six
Water Taxi down the Hudson. It was much cooler and we got to see the architecture of the lower west side of Manhattan. We exited at Battery Park.
From there we walked to Bowling Green Park, the Charging Bull and Fearless Girl Statues and then to Wall Street.
Ghostbusters Firehouse – we took a short subway ride up to see the iconic building as the last time we visited it was undergoing renovations and almost completely hidden by scaffolding. As I was stood opposite a tourist couple walked down the street and the man suddenly recognised what it was – he obviously didn’t realise it was there at first and I laughed at the sheer expression of awe on his face. I think his bubble was somewhat burst when he had to explain the significance of it to his girlfriend, but still…
Titanic Memorial – a small lighthouse and plaque down by the Southstreet Seaport piers.
Water Taxi from South Pier. It stopped at Brooklyn Bridge and then took a leisurely pace over to the Statue of Liberty. However, as we were traveling back up the Hudson towards Midtown it turned into a speedboat, and i laughed myself silly as The Bloke and I had to desperately cling on to the chairs and our cameras.
Kinky Boots on Broadway. Absolutely incredible – we’re a huge fan of the film and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen, to the point where I had to try and calm myself down and stop crying as I found myself becoming completely overwhelmed during the final song. Amazing.

Day Seven
Sephora, just because. I have make-up, but that’s not the point.
Lincoln Center, where we saw totally naked people being made into art works with body paint.
The Juilliard School – when I was training as a violinist it was one of my personal dreams to go here, and I finally did. Ok, maybe not as a student, but I made a point of taking a picture just so I could send it to my mother and say ‘I went to the Juilliard, Mum!’
For the final part, we walked over to W 58th Street 6th Avenue to find the corner crossing from Midnight Cowboy. Dustin Hoffman almost gets hit by a taxi and yells ‘Hey! I’m walking here!’ This was an unscripted scene that happened because the studio couldn’t get permission to close down the street for filming, and so had to film via a hidden camera in a van driving up and down the street. The taxi that almost hit him was a real one that had run a red light, and Hoffman improvised the now iconic line that was kept in the final cut.

Hey! I’m walking here!
What an incredible week… and there’s still so much more that we could have seen!

'The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls' Is Injecting A Lot Of Fun Into Kickstarting A Game
Adopting a cat. Sending in fan art. Getting your parents to play The Binding of Isaac. Taking pictures in the bathroom. Stretch goals where you can put your name on a tombstone on Edmund McMillen's lawn. Drawing pictures of the developer nude. The Kickstarter for The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, a card game built around the story behind The Binding of Isaac, has been a wild ride, with the developer getting fans engaged with the crowdfunding campaign through all manner of silly, fun ideas.
IndieGames.com caught up with McMillen to talk about why he chose to take such a silly route to crowdfunding, and how it's made the campaign a source of positive energy (and has just destroyed the initial funding goal) for the developer.
The Kickstarter for The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls is easily the most creative Kickstarter I've ever seen. What prompted you to try so many different things to engage your fans?
McMillen - I really just wanted to have fun. In a lot of ways, the past few weeks has been a really fun celebration of everything Isaac, and I've gotten to interact with fans in really creative and fun ways. I did an ARG in the past and had a great time doing it. I wanted to do another take on the same idea, and when I looked up and saw what other Kickstarters did with their stretch goals, I decided to just spin them with my own style. I really didn't expect so many people to shave their heads while saying "whatever you wish mother"...
What sorts of ideas have you tried so far? How did you come up with these ideas? How do you feel that these ideas get your fans involved and talking about the game?
I stayed on-topic as much as possible. I started easy, asking people to adopt a cat and name them Guppy or send me pics of them crying, but it has escalated into tons of people drawing me dead and nude and getting tattoos of the game's art. The more challenging goals, like beat the basement blindfolded, having your mom get to the caves, or beating mom with your feet, were all pretty amazing to watch.
I'm not sure these things are really getting the word out, but they are fun to watch and I lost like 2k followers in a day when I retweeted 50+ drawings of me nude. Good times were had. I have no complaints.
Why is this kind of engagement so important to you? How do you feel it's helping your Kickstarter raise funds?
i feel like a bit of a broken record but my wife and i just think its neat and fun for us and fans to do stuff like this. There is no real way to tell if this is helping drive sales. Honestly, it's articles writing about the weird shit we are doing that seem to help more than the actual things, so thanks for that :)
How has running this kind of lighthearted, fan-focused campaign made you feel?
It's honestly breathed a lot of life into my jaded husk. Working on this never felt like work. It never felt like something I'd done before, and every aspect of the campaign and designing this game has been totally amazing. Making digital indie games is very lonely and isolating - Four Souls has been the total opposite. I get to hang out with friends and family 2+ times a week just playing games and having fun, streaming, eating pizza, and talking shop.
I hope it comes through in what we are doing, because in all honesty, the game's really damn fun and I think people are going to love it when it releases at the end of the year. My only worry is that we aren't reaching enough fans. The Kickstarter has been super successful, but 20k backers is less than .2% of the people who own the digital game. We only have five more days left in the Kickstarter and almost everything we are offering is KS exclusive, so if you are reading this and have friends who play Isaac, make sure they know about this campaign before it's over!
For more information on The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls and developer Edmund McMillen, you can head to the game's site or follow them on Twitter. The game is also currently raising development funding on Kickstarter.

Duchy Conversation 10
[The following transcript details the conversation is between one of the Crown ARG Discord members and Duke on Twitter]
Em: “Hello! :)”
Duke: “Hello there, little sheep.”
Em: “I don't think we've spoken, except for a brief encounter in the server. I'm Em! To which of the twins do I have the pleasure of speaking with?”
Duke: “It is my absolute pleasure to meet you, dearest Em. You are currently conversing with Duke. I do hope your day has been simply marvelous.”
Em: “Ah, it's nice to formally meet you, Duke! My day has been good, thank you. How has yours been?”
Duke: “My day has been full of wonderful intrigues. Truly I am blessed to have such a glorious life. It is in poor taste for me to be a braggart as such but you must understand, today was simply lovely. What brings you here, little sheep? did a member of your flock go missing?”
Em: “I'm glad your day has gone so well! May I ask what it is you experienced today that made it such a good day? And no, no one has gone missing this time around. I just thought it would be a good time to talk to more of the family. :)”
Duke: “I do not wish to bore you with the details but sometimes solitude can be rewarding. I think my sister may stop a silly little project of hers that does will bring nothing but pain. Ah, I digress. It is heartening to hear you wish to talk to the family more. Let us just hope Crown allows it.”
Em: “Solitude is nice, I agree. No matter how much you enjoy someone's presence, it is always nice to have time for yourself. Has something happened recently, that makes you think Crown would disagree with the family talking to the server again? Or is that just confusion on my part?”
Duke: “Ha, I spoke in jest. Crown simply has the best for us in mind. Limited contact with the court was the norm, no? forgive me, but I have suitably distanced myself from the family until they learn to behave like proper people. If a change has occurred and contact flows more freely then I apologize for my mistake.”
Em: “No apology needed! But yes, we have much more contact with the rest of the family now. Crown has allowed them to talk in the server again! You say you've distanced yourself from them, is this because of what happened at the family meeting? We've heard a bit about some... fighting, that happened then.”
Duke: “Indeed. I have already told Donti the sordid details and it is to my understanding our conversation has already been shared with the flock. Until they wish to act like people and not ill-mannered monkeys peeved they are no longer the children’s favourite exhibit at the zoo then I will keep my distance.”
Em: “It has been, yes. If you keep your distance, then how will you know they’ve decided to behave? Are you counting on someone to relay that information to you? And I mean that with no ill intent towards you, simply curious is all.”
Duke: “The walls have ears, little sheep. I will hear.”
Em: “I see. I fear I’ve got to go now, thank you for speaking with me this evening. Sorry to cut our conversation so short, but it’s late and I’ve got to get some rest.
Goodnight, Duke, and may we speak again soon.”
Duke: “I wish you sweet dreams and a quiet slumber. Goodnight.”
