reblogging comment review from @zyafics
im STUDYINGGGG AGAIN hahaha and i decided to read âŹïž
You were pregnant. How could this happen? How the fuck could this happen?
so u see⊠thereâs this bird and this beeâŠ
You weren't going to cry. You couldnât. Not because you didnât want to, but because you physically couldnât. Not with your makeup done so carefully. Your eyes were lined so meticulously, your foundation blended like a dream, your lips painted in that bold red everyone said you pulled off effortlessly. You couldnât afford to let your mascara run. He wasnât worth it.
why r u lowkey funny đ girly is going through it but she canât cry bc she needs to keep her makeup intact is hilarious to me
Ruthie? That girl was giving everyone her signature snake sneer. Of course she was. The bitch had this superpower of sensing everyone's business before they even knew it themselves.
WHAT IF RUTHIE KNOWS
That would be so him, though.
oh my god
You did out without even thinking, grabbing Topperâs ear between two manicured fingers like you were his mom dragging him out of Sunday school, pulling him away.
like i said sheâs FUNNNYYYY
But why did it hurt? Perhaps a small part of you wanted him to show upâjust to see you, just to care. The other part, however, didnât. You didnât want him anywhere near you, or this⊠this thing inside you.
okokokok i love that she's hypocritical because all her motives makes sense and the sense of flow is so perfectly-paced it makes me wanna scream
They were trying to get you to admit you didnât invite him. Well, theyâd have to try harder. Youâd been swimming around sharks since you were born, no one was going to fuck you over so easily.
Then, in the corner of your eye, you saw him.Rafe.Â
a GUN
You stood taller, and forced a smile, but as you started to step down from the stage, you felt it.
THIS BITCH
âCan we justââ he was practically jogging after you, his voice strained. âCan we talk like fucking adults?â
im actually shaking
He ran a hand through his buzzed hair, the same agitated motion youâd seen a thousand times as if he was trying to smooth out the mess in his head.
this motion is so him too
He wasnât apologizing for ghosting you. He wasnât apologizing for her.Â
WHAT IF SHE TOLD HIM TO APOLOGIZE
He stepped closer, looming over you now, his lips curling into that sneer. âIâm trying to give you a chance to be friendsââGive you? Like you were some charity case to him? As if you should be thankful.
i would be literally committing mass murders rn
You told him the truth and now it had become the scar he wouldnât stop picking at. He was hurt. And he was angry, because youâd finally told him the truth about his dad, and it shattered that fake picture he had in his head.Â
literally get a grip
âYou donât get to talk about him like that,â he growled, stepping forward. âThatâs why we broke up. Because you donât fucking get it.â
bro idolizes his dad wayyy too much
You shook your head, âNo, we broke up because you didnât like me telling the truth. Your dad was a piece of shit, and you know it.â
i love her so much
Rafe pulled at the back of his neck again, looking like he mightâve ground his teeth to dust. âOh, I get it now,â he says, his voice thick with condescension. âYouâre jealous.â
there would be nothing but god stopping me from murdering this man
âJealous?â you repeated, in disbelief. âOf your little pogue girlfriend? Please, fucking spare me. You want me to throw a penny at her?â
sheâs so bitchy i love her
He stepped closer, his breath quickening. "Sheâs real, okay? Sheâs not some polished barbie pretending in front of everyone, just to fall apart behind closed doors."
TOPPER HAND ME A GLOCK
"Real huh?" You scoffed, the bitterness in your chest taking over. "Is that what you call it? Someone who doesnât know the difference between caviar and fucking canned tuna? Thatâs the 'real' youâve been slumming it with?"
she's actually so real
"Is that a joke? You spend so much time trying to be your father, youâve lost yourself. Do you think I donât see it? Youâre so fucking empty without his approval,â Your voice dipped lower, âYouâre so pathetic itâs almost sad."
TELL HIM GIRLY POP
He said it so casually, so carelessly, as if it hadnât ripped you apart. It was the way he said it, with that hint of affection, like she was this delicate, shiny little thing he was protecting, and youâyouâwere just a threat he had to deal with.
he likes SOFIA makes me wanna scream
"I'll drag the fucking Pope into this if I have to.â
i read this as pope heyward and went LEAVE MY MAN POPE OUT OF THIS
Once again, you pondered telling her everythingâabout breaking down and spilling every ugly detail. But that would make it real.
i wish she DID OHMYGOD
đ â the visceral anger i feel for rafe right now makes me wanna register for a gun. also also, their fight that cuts so deep because they know each other so well is done to PERFECTION and not only that, i LOVE LOVE LOVE how you can follow reader's train of thoughtsâso even if she's hypocritical in her response, it makes perfect sense. lastly, rafe has the fucking audacity i would've slapped him so hard he would've saw his dad ok done
LOVED YOU AT YOUR WORST - r.c series - THREE
pairings: ex!sweethearts; rafe x thornton!reader; rafe x Sofia. chapter warnings: mentions of pregnancy, of abortion, health risks & death.
Two lines.
Two bold, definitive lines.
You blinked. Once, twice, but it didnât change. It wasnât going away.Â
Two lines, clear as fucking day, staring back at you like they were taunting you.
The universe was laughing right in your face. You felt everything plummet to the very bottom of the earthâthe room, the floor, your stomachâit all just plummeted, like youâd been pushed off a cliff with no warning.
The test fell from your grip, clattering onto the marble countertop, but you didnât care. You backed away from it like it was something radioactive, something dangerous that could destroy you if you got too close. But it already had, hadnât it?
You were pregnant. How could this happen? How the fuck could this happen?
You knew how, obviously. You werenât that dumb. All you could see in your head was Rafeâs stupid fucking face. His name alone made you want to punch something, preferably his balls.Â
You were pregnant? With his kid? You were so careful with your life, with your image.Â
You could feel the resentment rise in your throat again, the taste of acid making you want to scream. He didnât get to do this to you. He couldnât ruin your life twice, fuck you up this bad and then just leave. You wanted to hate him. You did hate him. You hated it. And worse, you hated yourself.
There you were, stuck with this. Alone with a baby you didnât even want to think about. The thought of it growing inside youâof carrying some piece of him, some reminder of everything he put you through these past two monthsâit was loathsome. He wasnât part of this, not anymore. And you werenât that girlâyou didnât want to be. You werenât the one who begged for him to care, who waited around for him to come to his senses, who made excuses.
You werenât going to ruin all that hard work over him again. No way.
You pressed a tissue to your eyesânot to cry, but to catch the stray moisture that threatened to ruin your eyelinerâand took a deep breath. You smoothed your dress, and made sure everything was in place.Â
You didnât have time to figure it out, or wallow, or throw shit around. You straightened your back, lifted your chin, and forced yourself to feel nothing.Â
Not the panic, not the nausea, not the rage. Nothing.Â
You could push it all down, shove it into that deep hellish place in your guts where you put everything else. Later, maybe youâd have to let it out. Â
Just as you were spiraling deeper into the pit, there was a knock on the door. Loud. It made you jump, pulling you out of your head for just a second.
âHey!â It was Lily, her voice bright, oblivious. âItâs time. We need you out there. Youâve got like three minutes.â
Right. You wanted to laugh at how ridiculous this was.
You stepped out of the room, every movement rehearsed, the smile expertly placed on your lips. You were a master at thisâfaking it, pretending like nothing in the world could touch you.  Not after seeing those two fucking lines.
Your heels clicked on the floor as you walked through the hallway, down the steps, and into the ballroom. It was filled with kooks being kooks. Fake smiles, fake compliments, fake friendships. You werenât even listening to a word anyone said to you.
âHi, darling, you look stunning as always,â someone said, leaning in to kiss you on the cheek. You smiled, said thank you, maybe even added a you too, but you couldnât hear yourself. Your body knew exactly what to do at these things.Â
Pretend like you gave a shit.
âYour dad would be so proud,â another woman gushed, and you wanted to throw up. You laughed.Â
If he knew what was happening. Pregnant? By a man who didnât put a ring on your finger?
And there they were, of courseâTopper, Kelce and Ruthie, standing in the middle of it all, grinning like idiots. Well, Topper grinning like an idiot.
Ruthie? That girl was giving everyone her signature snake sneer. Of course she was. The bitch had this superpower of sensing everyone's business before they even knew it themselves.
A waiter passed by with a tray of champagne flutes, and you reached out instinctively, but the waiter, somehow, just missed you. The tray floated right past, and before you could even realize the fact that you didnât have a drink in your hand, her eyes were on you.
âOh, you're not drinking?â she asked, voice dripping with fake concern. Her eyes flickered, like she knew something, and you swear to god, your eyelid twitched.
âNot yet,â you replied with the same faux smile.
Ruthie just kept watching you with those too-knowing eyes, like she was looking for a crack, some little tell. Because she always did.
You had to be so careful around her.
One wrong move, one second, and sheâd be all over it, spreading it around the entire town before you even had a chance to breathe.
Your cousin, completely oblivious, was babbling with Kelce about somethingâprobably golf, or the new boat his dad bought, or some other thing you couldnât care less about. You nodded along, pretending to listen, but you were mentally still in the bathroom, staring at those two lines.
âSo, you invited Rafe?â Kelce said it like it was nothing, like bringing up your ex-boyfriend was the most casual thing in the world.
âWhat the actual fuck did you just say?â You all but growled out, enough to make him choke on his champagne.
He looked genuinely confused, as if he didnât just mention the one person youâd rather hurl off a bridge at the moment. âYeah, Rafe. Heâs on the list, right?â
Your whole body went rigid. You blinked, trying to keep your face from giving anything away, but inside? You were dying. Ruthieâs eyebrows shot upâoh great, now you had her attention too.
âYouâve got to be kidding me.â
Kelce, of course, had the nerve to chuckle.Â
If Rafe had spoken to them about being taken off the guest list, youâd lose it. The insolence of him mentioning your nameâlike he still had any right to talk about you? He shouldâve buried the memory of you right along with whatever feelings he claimed to have had.
But then, if he hadnât said a word about it to his best friendsâthat meant something worse. That meant he didnât care. He was over it. Over you.Â
He hadnât even bothered to tell them that he wasnât coming to the gala because he wasnât thinking about it. Or about you.Â
You hated either possibility.Â
Kelce like the asshole he was, "I thought you two wereâ"
"Don't." You cut him off so fast, so hard, he had to take a step back.Â
You wanted to grab Top by his clueless shoulders and demand answers. Did Rafe care? Was he coming tonight? You didnât like any optionâevery scenario made you want to get on a plane to the other side of the world.  If he was planning to show up despite being cut from the listâŠShit, what would you even do? You could feel the headache starting already.Â
That would be so him, though.
The arrogance. The entitlement, ignoring boundaries because he never thought the rules applied to him.
Ruthie, of course, was still watching you like a hawk. Her eyes darted between you and Topper, and you could practically feel her mind working, trying to piece together whatever she thought she was seeing. She loved this. She lived for other peopleâs drama, and you knew sheâd sniff out anything that didnât look flawless.
You did out without even thinking, grabbing Topperâs ear between two manicured fingers like you were his mom dragging him out of Sunday school, pulling him away.
"Ow, Jesusâwhat the hell?!" he yelped, stumbling to keep up with you in his shiny loafers as you all but hauled him into the nearest corner of the ballroom, out of sight, but still within earshot of the crowd.Â
You didnât care. Let someone see. Let them all see.
You turned to him, barely letting go of his ear, your nails tapping impatiently against your crossed arms. He looked at you like youâd lost your mind, and maybe you had.
âSpill it.â
He was still rubbing his ear. âWhat are you talking about?â
âRafe,â you snapped, eyes narrowing. âIs he coming tonight? And donât you dare lie to me, Top.â
He gulped. Actually gulped. You swore you could see the gears turning in that pretty, empty head of his, trying to figure out if he could weasel his way out of this.
âIâ I donât know, okay?â Topper stammered, running a hand through his hair. âI havenât talked to him today, but I figured⊠I mean, he always comes to these things, so I assumedâ"
That meant Rafe didnât tell him. That your little stunt hadnât phased him in the slightest.Â
âYou assumed?â You leaned in closer, eyes burning holes into his skull. âAfter everything, you thought it was a good idea to just assume heâd show up and not even bother telling me?â
âI canât put him on a leash!â His voice rose defensively, eyes wide like he was the one under attack. And yeah, maybe he was. Maybe youâd gone full psycho mode. Rafe always turned you into thisâthis furious, spiraling, out-of-control version of yourself.
Your cousin was just collateral damage.
âMaybe thatâs the problem. Maybe someone should.â  You said it slowly like you were explaining something to a child. âDo you even know what itâs like?â you hissed, leaning in closer, your voice dropping , âTo sit here, wondering if heâs gonna show up like some ticking time bomb?â
Topperâs mouth opened, but nothing came out.
He didnât know shit about what you were going through. How could he? He wasnât the one with a whole life-changing secret burning a hole in his brain, wondering if the father of the child growing inside him was going to ruin everythingâagain.
âIâI didnât think it was that serious,â Topper stammered, hands flying up in surrender. âI mean, heâs always been a dick, butââ
You remember the first thing he texted you after weeks of radio silence.
âNo,â you interrupted, âHeâs more than just a dick. Heâsââ You stopped yourself before you said too much. God, you were on the edge, and you needed to rein it in.Â
Topper, still looking like a kicked puppy, shifted on his feet.Â
âLook, Iâll text him. Iâll ask if heâs coming or not, okay?â He pulled out his phone, typing something quickly. You watched him, arms crossed, tapping your foot against the marble floor like your life depended on it.  If you saw his faceâhis stupid, beautiful, infuriating faceâyou didnât know what youâd do.Â
Punch him? Scream? Run? The thought of him being here, so close, when you hadnât even processed what was happening to youâŠ
âOkay, he saysââ He paused, squinting at his screen, âheâs not coming.â
The relief. You let out a breath you didnât even know you were holding, shoulders sagging for just a second before you caught yourself. Heâs not coming.
But why did it hurt? Perhaps a small part of you wanted him to show upâjust to see you, just to care. The other part, however, didnât. You didnât want him anywhere near you, or this... this thing inside you.
âSee?â Topper said, holding up his phone like it was some peace offering. âHeâs not coming. Crisis averted.â He gave you this awkward, nervous smile, like he thought you might hit him again.
You forced a laugh, even though nothing about this was funny.
âGreat. Awesome. Perfect,â you said through gritted teeth simultaneously smoothing your dress, and pushing your hair back over your shoulder, âThanks, Top. Really. Youâre a real lifesaver.â
He looked at you like he wasnât sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but you didnât care. The moment was over. Youâd survived.Â
You rolled your eyes as you turned away heading back toward your original group. Of course, Ruthie was still standing there her arms crossed, that smug little smirk on her face. Sheâd been watching the whole thing, no doubt about it.Â
You could feel her nosy ass dissecting every single move you made.Â
âHeâs not here yet,â she hummed, her eyes narrowing just enough to piss you off. âWeird, right? Maybe heâs busy with Sofia.â
Of course, she brought up that fucking name.Â
She was sniffing out blood in the water, as if she wasnât just another Sarah Cameron knock-off. You could already picture itâthe headlines, the whispers spreading through the audience, everyone talking about you. The legacy who ruined her own gala.
Kelce snorted, not even bothering to hide his amusement, because of course he thought this was all a joke. He never got it. None of them did.
You wished, for just a second, that you werenât born into this pristine, high-society life. You felt so smothered by these expectations. If you were anyone else, if you werenât some debutante raised on champagne and etiquette, youâd have punched her right there. Youâd have knocked her straight to the floor and wiped that pretentious smile off her face with blood in front of every stuck-up rich asshole in the room.Â
âI didnât realize we were talking about her,â you said, voice like sugar, even though you knew Ruthie could sense the underlying warning in it,âBut thanks, Ruthie, for always keeping me updated on things that donât concern you.â
Her eyes narrowed, but she didnât back down yet.
âJust making conversation. I mean, it is weird that he hasnât shown up yet, right? Considering how close you two used to be. Iâm sure itâs nothing, though.â
Kelce, that asshole, leaned in, "Come on, don't act like youâre over it." His eyes glanced down to your hand. "Youâre shaking."
You were. You hadnât even noticed.
But instead of acknowledging it, you shot him a look that could've killed. "Fuck off, Kelce."
They were trying to get you to admit you didnât invite him. Well, theyâd have to try harder. Youâd been swimming around sharks since you were born, no one was going to fuck you over so easily.
âUh-huh,â Ruthie said, not buying a word of it. Her eyes flicked between you and Topper, and you knew what she was doing. She was fishing. âYou sure about that? You were giving him a look.â
You glanced at your cousin, who was still rubbing his ear like a toddler. âJust sorting out some... logistics for the gala,â you said, voice saccharine, but it felt like chewing on glass. âItâs nothing. Really.â
She arched a brow, her lips curling up in a knowing grin. She knew something was off. She always did. âRight,â she said slowly, drawing the word out like she was savoring it. âBecause for a second there, it looked like you were about to explode.â
She was monitoring you so closely, you could feel it crawling up your skin.
âYou know,â she sighed, like she cared. âIf somethingâs going on you can tell me. I wonât say a word.â
That was rich. Ruthie, keeping a secret? Youâd sooner trust a thief with your jewelry. âIâm sure you wouldnât,â you said, not keeping the sarcasm out of your voice. âBut trust me, thereâs nothing to tell.â
Ruthieâs pursed her lips, annoyed that she hadnât managed to dig anything up, âAre youââ
You were two seconds away from shoving her into the nearest fountain. But instead, you took a deep breath, âYou should worry less about me,â you advised her, âand more about that atrocious dress youâre wearing.â
The smile fell off her face so fast, it was glorious.
You didnât wait for her to recover. You turned on your heel, and grabbed Topper by the arm.
As soon as you were far enough away, he let out a breath heâd been holding. âJesus, I thought you were gonna deck her.â
You grinned, but there was no warmth in it. âI still might.â
He sighed, âSheâs still my girlfriend.â
âYeah, downgrading seems like a thing for you boys.â
Like a guardian angel sent from above, Lily appeared, stepping between you two with a concerned expression.
âHey, hey,â she interrupted, glancing between you, âWhat was that about?â
You could see the caution in her eyes. She wasnât stupidâLily knew things between you and Rafe had been rocky, and sheâd probably been sensing the tension the entire night. But right now, she was doing her best to defuse the earlier situation before it got any worse.
âNothinâ, just Ruthie being herself,â You dismissed, as you grabbed onto her forearm, âLetâs go.â
Lily blinked, startled by your urgency, but she didnât argue. âYeah, we should head backstage, the speech is coming up.â
âBye Top. Stay the fuck away from the chocolate fountain.â
You could hear him whine in the back, âI did that shit once!â
Lily pulled you along through the ballroom, her arm linked with yours, quickening her pace to keep up with you as you nearly bolted toward the back of the venue. âAre you sure youâre okay?â
âYeah,â you bit out, though your voice didnât even convince you. âIâm fine. I just need to get this speech over with.â
âUh-huh,â She replied, clearly not convinced, but smart enough to drop it for now. âYou got it, donât worry.â
Finally, you made it to the side entrance that led backstage. The thick drapes and low lighting created a shield, giving you a small moment of privacy before the world demanded your attention again.Â
Lily stood next to you, gently touching your arm, âYou donât have to do this if youâre not ready. We can stall, orââ
âI have to,â you stopped her, rubbing a hand over your face, âI canâtââ You didnât finish your sentence because you didnât know how to say it. You had no choice.
Lilyâs fingers squeezed your arm a little tighter. âOkay,â she said quietly, nodding. âBut Iâm here if you need me.â
You forced a smile, one that didnât reach your eyes. âThanks,â you whispered, even though the words felt hollow in your mouth.
You appreciated her being here, really, but she was blissfully unaware of the pregnancy test in the trash can.Â
Taking a deep breath, you adjusted your posture, straightened your dress, and ran a hand through your hair, reminding yourself that youâd been here before. Youâd stood on that stage so many times.
This wasnât new. You just had to get through it.Â
One more speech. One more night. You glanced at Lily, gave her a quick nod, and stepped through the final curtain. Back into the spotlight. Back into the role youâd perfected so wellâput together, poised, untouchable.
The low murmur of the gathering hummed in your ears, growing louder with every second. You werenât ready. You were never going to be ready.
You just needed to remember how to breathe.
The speech was printed and sitting in your hands, it felt like dead weight. You hadnât even read through it since youâd finished it hours ago, and now, the thought of standing in front of all those people, pretending to have it togetherâit felt impossible.
Then, in the corner of your eye, you saw him.
Rafe.Â
He said he wasnât coming. Topper said he wasnât coming. But there he was, standing there, watching you just like he always had.Â
You hadnât even meant to look. You didnât do it on purpose, perhaps it was muscle memory, always searching for him. He was standing in the same spot he usually took. Like nothing had changed.
As if he hadnât ripped you apart.
You tried to focus, but your heart was racing, thundering in your ears.Â
How dare he? How fucking dare he? Instantly you were back there, that messy, intoxicating space you swore youâd never return to. The one where he controlled the air you breathed. He looked so good. Too good, really. He was wearing a crisp navy suit that hugged his frame perfectly, hair buzzed again.Â
You shouldâve guessed heâd find a way back here, even after everything.Â
âAre you ready?â Lily whispered beside you, her voice pulling you back from the brink of a breakdown.Â
âYeah.â
Your heart raced as you forced yourself to look back at Rafe.
He wasnât smiling. He wasnât even pretending to look interested. He just stood there, his eyes locked on you, unreadable, unfathomable.
He was still watching you. It felt like could see through your polished exterior. He probably did. He knew you better than anyone else. You wondered what he sawâthe confident girl who had always pulled off these events with ease or the terrified woman who was about to pass out from the pressure.
Then, heâs lips lifted slightly. That infuriating, devil-may-care almost there smirk that had made your heart stutter long before everything went to hell. It reminded you of nights spent tangled in sheets, whispers pressed against your skin under the cover of darkness, moments that felt like they belonged in a dream.
You wanted to throw the speech away and storm off the stage, leaving this whole night behind.
Instead, you cleared your throat and gripped the edges of the podium, the cool wood bringing you back to the world.Â
The words were on the paper in front of you, but you didnât need to look at them. You knew the speech by heart every year.  Youâd written it yourself, after allâcrafted it with care, knowing exactly what people needed to hear to make their checks bigger, to keep your fatherâs legacy alive.
It was just a matter of saying it without breaking.
A deep breath, and then you began.
âGood evening, everyone. Thank you so much for being here tonight.â
Your voice sounded better than what you felt, and you leaned into that, letting it carry you through the first few lines.
âWe gather here every year for the same reasonâto celebrate the incredible work this foundation does, and to honor the legacy of those who came before us. This foundation isnât just a charity; itâs a tribute. A way to remember those weâve lost and to carry their dreams forward. Itâs about giving back to a community that gave so much to us.â
You paused, just for a moment, glancing down at the speech in your hands, feeling the overwhelming crush of what youâre about to say next.
âFor me, this has always been personal.â Your voice softened as you continued, âMost of you are aware I lost my family a few years ago. My father started this foundation. His vision was always to make sure that no one was left behind, that we take care of our own. My mother helped build it. And my sisterâŠâ You hesitated, remembering how faultless sheâd been, âShe was always the heart of it.â
The room was utterly still now, everyone listening intently.Â
âTonight, as I stand here, I canât help but think about how proud they would be of what weâve accomplished. At least, I hope theyâd be proud.â
You allowed yourself a small, bittersweet smile.
âMy dad wouldâve been in his element, making sure everything was spotless. And my mom, well, sheâd probably tell me that the curtains were horrid and needed to be replaced immediately.â
The crowd gave a light laugh, the tension in the room dissipating just a little. You smiled, a real one this time, for the first time in weeks, picturing your mother in her no-nonsense way, criticizing every decoration like it was the most important thing in the world.
âI miss them every day,â you added, âAnd Iâm certain Iâm not the only one in this room whoâs experienced that kind of loss. It changes you. But it also reminds you to live in a way that makes them proud. And thatâs what tonight is about, continuing their work, continuing their legacy, and making sure we do right by them.â
Your grip on the podium loosened, and you looked up, making eye contact with the audience.Â
âSo, to everyone here tonightâthank you. Thank you for believing in this cause. Thank you for your generosity, your support, and your kindness. And thank you for helping me keep their memory alive.â
With that, you stepped back from the podium, the applause swelling around you, but all you could hear was the sound of your heart breaking.
It was over. You did it.
Automatically, your eyes flickered up toward the back corner, the spot where Rafe was standing. You never needed to look before; youâd always just known heâd be there. It was his silent promise to you since you were sixteen. Every gala, every speechâno matter what happened between the two of youâhe was there.
But he wasnât there anymore. The space was empty. Â
This was what you wanted, you didnât need him anymore. You were going to get through this on your own. It was the first time he wasnât there to catch you like heâd always been.
You stood taller, and forced a smile, but as you started to step down from the stage, you felt it.
That stupid fucking warmth.Â
His hand found your elbow as you and every nerve in your body screamed bloody murder. The applause was still buzzing in your ears, cameras flashingânone of it registered.
All you saw was him.
Three seconds. That was how close you were to snapping. Who the fuck let him in?
You yanked your arm away, the touch burning your skin like it was staining you. You didnât say a wordâjust turned and headed straight for the back exit.
Behind you, you heard his footsteps.
Of course, he never knew when to stop, when to let you breathe.
âCan we justââ he was practically jogging after you, his voice strained. âCan we talk like fucking adults?â
You were already halfway down the hall, pulling off your earrings as you stormed toward your suite.
The fucking sheer audacity of this man. You couldnât even process itâhow he could stand there, with his fake-ass calm tone, chasing after you like you were the one being unreasonable.
You threw open the door to the suite you got ready in, the one that was supposed to be your sanctuary for the night and stepped inside, not bothering to close it behind you; you knew he was going to follow you in any way.
He was relentless like that.
You tossed the earrings onto the vanity and glanced up to see he was right behind you now, lingering in the doorway, as if unsure of how much further he could push before you exploded.
He looked at you like he was the victim in all this.
âCan you at least listen to me for a second?â It sounded like he was forcing himself to stay calm.
But that bite was so Rafe.
You spun around, your breath coming out harsh.
âListen to you? Listen to you? Youâve got to be out of your fucking mind.â
He opened his mouth to say something, but you were already pulling off your heels, the sharp tug at the straps doing nothing to calm your frustration.
He stood there, his eyes on you, but you couldnât even bring yourself to look at him for more than a second without feeling the betrayal flooding your chest.
Rafe was rubbing the back of his neck in that agitated way he did when he was frustrated. âI came here because I didnât want to leave things like that. I thought we could be civilââ
âCivil?â You nearly laughed, âYou seriously think you can walk in here and be civil after everything?â
His eyes narrowed just a fraction. He moved on his feet, stepping further into the room, and you saw itâthe way he rolled his shoulders like he was already preparing himself for a fight.  âI came to apologize.â
He ran a hand through his buzzed hair, the same agitated motion youâd seen a thousand times as if he was trying to smooth out the mess in his head.
Your hands stopped mid-motion, your necklace halfway off. You looked at him like heâd lost his mind. "Apologize for what, exactly?"Â
âFor calling you dramatic.â He exhaled like he was doing something noble by saying it. As if he was doing you a favor. âFor that text. I was drunk, didnât mean it.â
He wasnât apologizing for ghosting you. He wasnât apologizing for her.Â
You stared at him, completely floored. He was serious, he thought this was some kind of peace offering. The fact that he thought an apology for that would fix anything? Insane.
âYou think this is about that?â You cackled, chucking one shoe to the side, not caring where it landed, and the other followed right after. âOh my god, Rafe, you are so fucking clueless.â
His expression changed then, brows furrowed, âIâm trying to make things right,â he mutters. âI donât want you out of my life, okay?â
You threw the necklace somewhere on the ground, your patience gone. âYou were the one who pushed me away. You donât get to waltz in here and act like we can just fix things because you finally feel bad about it.â
He stepped closer, looming over you now, his lips curling into that sneer. âIâm trying to give you a chance to be friendsââ
Give you? Like you were some charity case to him? As if you should be thankful.
âI donât want to be your friend!â You growled in his face, stepping forward and jabbing your finger into his chest, âIâd rather set myself on fire than be your friend, so you can take that chance and shove it up your ass.â
His hand came up to run along his head again, and you saw the way his fingers curled into his scalp like he was trying not to give in to his impulsive thoughts. His breathing was heavier now, too, chest rising and falling quickly. Â
âWhy are you being so difficult?â he snapped, and there it wasâthe familiar, accusatory edge in his voice. âAfter what you said about my dadââ
The reason.
The thing that broke you two this time, the thing heâd been holding over your head. You saw the hurt in his eyes, the one thing he hadnât let go of.
You told him the truth and now it had become the scar he wouldnât stop picking at. He was hurt. And he was angry, because youâd finally told him the truth about his dad, and it shattered that fake picture he had in his head.Â
âYouâre gonna bring that up right now?â Your voice was so quiet it nearly scared you. âAfter all the shit youâve put me through, thatâs what youâre mad about?â
âYou donât get to talk about him like that,â he growled, stepping forward. âThatâs why we broke up. Because you donât fucking get it.â
But Sofia did, right?Â
That was fucking hilarious. She didnât grow up listening to Wardâs bullshit. Didnât see the kind of things heâd say or did to his oldest child.Â
Of course, she would take his side. She didnât know better.Â
You shook your head, âNo, we broke up because you didnât like me telling the truth. Your dad was a piece of shit, and you know it.â
For a moment, the air went deadly still between you. You could sense his hurt, the way it sneaked between every bitter word.
Then, he did itâthe thing you knew he would, that thing that made your blood boil.Â
Rafe pulled at the back of his neck again, looking like he mightâve ground his teeth to dust. âOh, I get it now,â he says, his voice thick with condescension. âYouâre jealous.â
Your whole body went borderline rigid, like a door, locked in place.
He was standing there, offering you friendship like a pity prize, calling you jealous when you were standing there broken, trying not to fall apart because of him.
âJealous?â you repeated, in disbelief. âOf your little pogue girlfriend? Please, fucking spare me. You want me to throw a penny at her?â
He stepped closer, his breath quickening. "Sheâs real, okay? Sheâs not some polished barbie pretending in front of everyone, just to fall apart behind closed doors."
Ouch. But you could do worse.Â
"Real huh?" You scoffed, the bitterness in your chest taking over. "Is that what you call it? Someone who doesnât know the difference between caviar and fucking canned tuna? Thatâs the 'real' youâve been slumming it with?"
"At least she doesnât care about any of this," he snapped, gesturing to the glittering gala that surrounded you both. "Sheâs not obsessed with keeping up appearances.â
A cold laugh escaped your lips. He mustâve forgotten to look in the mirror today.
"God, youâre so delusional. Do you think I wanted any of this?â You shot him a look that could cut through steel. "Iâm not the one faking it. You are. You are still so desperate for Daddyâs approval that you canât even see what a fucking mess you are."
Rafe's hands flexed at his sides, his fingers twitching. His nostrils flared, and he tilted his head to the side, running his tongue over his teeth like he always did when he was trying to stay calm.â
"Iâm not afraid of who I am," His lips barely moved as he spoke, rolling his shoulders back again, standing to his full height. "You spend so much time trying to be perfect, you donât even know who you are anymore."
He leaned in closer, his breath hot against your skin, like a predator sizing you up, his eyes locked on yours. You could see his jaw clench, his chest rising and falling with every shallow breath as he tried to keep his composure.
You took a step closer, your chest brushing against his, your heart pounding so hard you could hear it in your ears. His gaze flicked downward, scanning your face.
"Is that a joke? You spend so much time trying to be your father, youâve lost yourself. Do you think I donât see it? Youâre so fucking empty without his approval,â Your voice dipped lower, âYouâre so pathetic itâs almost sad."
He clenched his jaw again, his fingers curling into fists at his sides. He took a sharp breath through his nose, staring you down with a look that was all Rafeâvolatile, unreadable, on the edge of breaking.
Right then and there, Lily burst into the room, her wide eyes taking in the scene like a bomb had just gone off.
"Okay! What is going on in here?" she demanded, her voice sharp but layered with concern. âI could hear you two in the hallway. If something happened, this is not the place to deal with it.â
âYou wanna know what happened, Lily?â you started, almost laughing with disbelief. âThis motherfucker started seeing someone behind my back. Two monthsâtwo fucking monthsâwith no real closure, no answers. And heâs off fucking some pogue.â
âItâs not like that,â He scoffed, pointing a finger in your direction as he took a few steps back, "Don't drag Sofia into this.â
His posture screamed defensiveness, and all you could think was how much you hated the way he said her name. It made you want to throw up, it felt like someone was taking a rusty nail and dragging it down your spine.Â
He said it so casually, so carelessly, as if it hadnât ripped you apart. It was the way he said it, with that hint of affection, like she was this delicate, shiny little thing he was protecting, and youâyouâwere just a threat he had to deal with.
"I'll drag the fucking Pope into this if I have to.â
You were the one who had been there through all his bullshit, you were the one who held him together when everything in his life was falling apart. Now, suddenly, she was the one he spoke about softly. Like she mattered.
It was insulting.Â
âGuys!â
Lily stepped between you both, throwing her hands up as if she were separating two wild animals about to rip each other apart.
âPlease, please calm down. Rafe, I think you should leave. Now."
He looked like he wanted to say more, you knew he had a million things screaming at him beneath the surface, but for once, he stayed silent. Maybe it was the fact that Lily was there, or maybe he finally realized you werenât going to bite into his bullshit excuses and provocations.
Whatever it was, he took a step back, shaking his head. âUnbelievable,â he muttered under his breath, storming past Lily and out of the room.
You could hear the distant sound of the door slamming as he left.
The moment he was gone, you felt your breath coming out in shallow gasps. Your heart dropped to your stomach, your pulse racing.
Lily turned to you; her face full of concern. She reached out and grabbed your shoulders gently.
âHey,â she whispered, her voice soothing, âBreathe. Just breathe.â
You pressed a hand to your chest, your breath hitching. Pregnant. You were pregnant with his kid, and this was what you got in return.
No peace. No calm.Â
Your chest tightened, your vision blurring. Â
âHey, hey,â She cooed again, her hands on your arms, grounding you. âYouâre okay. Weâre going to figure this out. Just breathe, okay?â
You couldnât believe youâd let it get this farâcouldnât believe you were even in this situation.
There was no way you were having his kid.
Absolutely not.
You didnât even have to think about it. The decision had been made the second heâd defended her and insulted you like you were sidewalk littering.
Tomorrow, youâd take care of it. Youâd book the appointment and that would be that. Clean break, no more ties to Rafe Cameron, no more staying in that fucked up twisted cycle with him.
âI really think you need to sit down and breathe for a second. Youâre scaring me sweetheart, and honestly, this isnât good for you.â
Once again, you pondered telling her everythingâabout breaking down and spilling every ugly detail. But that would make it real.
Your designer dress clung to you in all the wrong ways, as if even the fabric could understand the order going changes in your body.Â
âWhoever let him in, I want them fired.â
You spat suddenly gaining momentary strength to ruin lives. It wasnât just a demand; it was an execution order.Â
The quiet threat of it was more terrifying than your screaming would have been.Â
Tomorrow, youâd make sure this nightmare ended before it could begin.Â

tags: fluff, no established relationship but.. there's something there, mutant!reader (they call her sway due to her mutation.. i love her i wanna talk ab her someone PLEASE ASK AB HER), AFAB reader, she/her pronouns used for reader, no specific petnames for reader (just bub and her hero name.. gets called kid like twice), no use of y/n, written with x1/x2 logan in mind... sigh... save me x2 logan.. anyway, he gives reader his dog tags before a mission in case he.. you know.. so maybe angst? but only til the very end.
wc: 2k!!
a/n: OKAY SO BOOM! this is my first actual work that's not a drabble and i'm so anxious to post AAHHH, i got the inspo from a post i saw a while ago while fried as fuck from someone requesting a fic ab logan giving reader his dog tags, pref fluffy and angsty so i hope i did ur vision justice OP!! tysm for inspo, my reqs are always open đ«¶đ» also i know this is a very burnt card but if something in the wording is off lmk PLEASEE english isn't my first language đ anyway enough yapping plz enjoy!! any type of interaction is appreciated
'just know these are yours now.'
you've never seen him without his dog tags, he never took them off, not ever since the first time he came into the mansion. you'd been there the first time, you were a teacher in the school, and you'd seen him occasionally roam the halls and stay by the door, listening in on your class, quietly. but very rarely interacted otherwise, just a simple nod or a 'good morning' that he'd return out of good manners, but he'd mostly keep to himself.
you're a teacher. you're the fun teacher. at least that's what your coworkers seemed to agree upon, seeing how your students appeared to leave your classroom more cheerful than they entered. you'd be lying if you said you didn't use your mutation as an advantage in this situation, being able to read your students' moods every day, how they were feeling and why came insanely handy, especially when it came to giving each student the type of care they needed. which is why you were also a student counselor.
on the days you didn't teach, you'd put that psych degree to work and counsel. in your classroom filled with drawings and fairy lights and stained glass that looked straight from a fairytale, and a door you'd lock for privacy as a student came to confide in you.
obviously despite your title, it wasn't only students who'd come to your office to let a feeling go, teachers too, needed a space to blow off some steam, cry a little sometimes, because they knew you'd soothe them in the end, touch your hand feel the pain dissipate, make it seem as if they'd never felt that way.
up until now, only teachers and students seemed to come to you for help. teachers. and students.
so it did surprise you when the wolverine started showing up in your office after coming back.
"must be tiring. to handle others' emotions like your own all day." he'd say, sitting down on a chair, to which you'd playfully roll your eyes and shake your head. "i don't treat them as my own, i just do what i have to do so they feel better." you'd reply, walking towards the door to lock it out of policy. figured that he was here for counseling as well.
"you treat everyone with so much care it seems like it." he said, which made you stop in your tracks, turning heel to face him, your hair cascading on your shoulders and moving ever so softly as you spun. before you could speak, stunned, he asked again.
"don't you get tired? i mean mentally. it must take a toll on you to be around so many emotions all the time." the way he seemed to read you stunned you, he seemed like a very gruff, cold person from the brief interactions you'd had with him before. truth be told, this was the closest you'd been to logan since he came back to the mansion. it's what other people thought of him, anyway.
but you weren't other people, you were different.
the feeling in your body when you perceive others emotions is strange. you could never put it into words. your mutation was mostly contact based, a small brush of the hand was enough to let you know that person's feelings, the reason behind them, what they needed to feel better and it made it easier to help everyone. you could, however, see and feel the emotions, sometimes even smell them if they were too strong, no need for contact necessary.
with logan, you almost didn't need to be in the same room as him to feel the amount of physical, mental, emotional strain he was constantly under, his superhuman body subconsciously tuning it out, making him oblivious to it. once, after a very dangerous mission, he isolated himself in his room for days, his expression cold and unfazed, but every time you'd walk past an area he was in, the emotions hit you like a truck. so strong you even cried over pain that wasn't yours, a life you hadn't lived.
you looked at him sympathetically, taking a deep breath to concentrate less on the seemingly invisible fog around you two as you sat on the chair, your expression calm and collected. "i'm okay, i promise. thank you, logan."
"like hell you are." "neither are you."
he stays quiet at your retaliation, a weak smile forming on his lips, letting you understand that you were right, not that you needed confirmation.
sometimes, when emotions overpower you, you feel compelled to speak, give words of reassurance, even if you didn't quite know if they'd help or not. "logan, you should let people into your heart, stop living in fear.." you blurted out, unsure of why you were telling him this, but you'd learned to not question it and just speak, because it helped to just hear the words sometimes. it certainly did get you a reaction from logan, as the overbearing feelings you were perceiving faded.. briefly, before they slowly crept back into vision.
it was the faintest of reactions, but a reaction at least.
he nodded, taking in the words silently, as if he were contemplating. you remained stoic, analyzing his demeanor out of pure habit. "did.. you come here for counseling?" you asked, suddenly aware that you were still working, and you weren't even sure if he was here for another reason, or if he did need your help. instead, he shook his head, looking at you as if he were conducting an analysis of his own.
"nah, just came to see you.. sway."
a knock on the door interrupted the brewing tension, a gloomy, childlike presence behind the door, to which you looked at logan apologetically. "i'm sorry logan, i have a student to attend.. but think about what i said." you spoke softly, your warm voice reverberating in his ears like a hug.. something he longed for but couldn't bring himself to ask.
you started seeing him around the classroom more, or rather, he started seeking you out more. in between breaks, before his training, during counseling. it got to a point where your children started greeting him hello and goodbye if he was in the classroom, interacting with him, playing with his hair, always styled like kitty ears. the way he just smiled and let them made something in you bloom, a feeling you couldn't recognize in yourself, but it was pink and warm and fuzzy all over. you couldn't help but wonder if he felt about you this way, too.
slowly, you noticed how, little by little, the gloomy cloud surrounding him would go away when he entered the classroom, how it would be replaced with a pink haze when he looked into your eyes, or made you laugh.. it would quickly fade away, but you'd notice, and noticed how much it resembled that feeling inside you: pink and warm and fuzzy all over.
as time went by, you got used to seeing him around, swinging by your classroom as if it was his haven, a small break from the world he knew, because you were in it. you'd be lying if you said he didn't make you day too, the gloomy atmosphere that once came along with him every time he entered your classroom slowly changing into a lilac haze.
one day, he showed up as the kids were leaving for the day, no colored cloud, but something seemed off. you invited him to sit down as he locked the door after getting in, his expression serene. before you could even speak his hands were on you, pulling you close to him in a hug, and you swore you could feel him shaking slightly. the realization hits you like a bucket of cold water and you just hold him tighter to you, since it feels like the only correct thing to do.
"you're scared."
"no one gets to see me like this, so feel special." said he, almost as if he was confiding a secret in you, which he was.
"oh, trust me, i feel quite special." you replied jokingly, which caused him to let out a chuckle, though it was dull and almost no feeling was tied to it.
you two let go and you asked him what was wrong, and he opened up like it was routine.
"i leave tomorrow. there's a mission out of state and they're asking me to go.. might be off the grid after that for a while." he explained, his voice remained calm but his eyes seemed to reveal to you more of how he was actually feeling.
"i dunno.. thought someone should've known in case.. things go south." your expression changed at that, and logan noticed. "ah, c'mon bub, change that frown, it's just reality. sure, i might be a piece of work to kill but it doesn't mean i can't die."
the silence that fell upon the classroom as you two finished speaking made the words fall with more weight into your heart, it did little to nothing to comfort you as you came to terms with what he said. it shouldn't have been hard - he was just stating a fact -, but it didn't mean that it didn't cut deep for you. you opened your mouth to speak, unsure of what you were even going to say, but he quickly cut you off.
"logan-" "listen, bub, you told me to start letting people into my heart.. i'm letting you in."
slowly, his hands went to unclasp the chain that always dangled on his neck, dog tags adorning his neck with his names, his identities. you looked in awe as he held them out to you. "gimme your hand, kid." and surprisingly, you did as you were told, holding your hand out as he placed the piece on your hand, feeling the cold metal clink softly as it fell and heat up under the temperature of your palm. you looked up at him, unsure of what it meant, of what this changed between you two, but it felt undeniable, even if unspoken.
ânow, these.. theyâre very special, bub. a reminder of everything that happened that led to here.. and itâs leading me to you right now.â he explained. âfeels right for you to have them, i guess.. keep them safe, kid.â
the silence that fell between you two again was more comfortable, filled with a newfound tension that left much to question, but it didnât feel right to interrupt with all that noise yet. the only sound filling the room was the breathing and a faint humming of the white noise machine you kept in your room, next by the door. you opened up your mouth again, your mind utterly blank and filled with thoughts and questions at the same time, unsure of which one was going to breach through your mind to materialize out in the cold, tense air.
â.. why me? trust me, iâm flattered, but iâm no one special, logan..â you questioned, and it made him frown.
âyou are special. you're special to me.â your eyes widened at the confession and you watched as a soft smile settled on his face, one that made your heart flutter with the sheer tenderness he held in his gaze. âcall it what you want.. just know these are yours now.â he said it so calmly, you wouldn't have tought he was handing you his heart, placing it in soft, tender hands and pleading you to not break it, not change it, and instead embrace it and accept it as it came, rough around the edges.
with that, he stood up from the chair, took your hand to squeeze it briefly, and walked out of the room, not before looking back at you one last time, the heaviness that he carried as he entered the room seemingly gone, all that you could perceive was a haze, all too familiar, one that left as quick as it came as his eyes met yours.
pink, warm, and fuzzy all over.

OKAY FINE YOU HORNY SLUTS
you get smut đđ this is the last time i'm installing on this tho
pairing: dom!billie eilish x sub!fem!reader
summary: part 2 to this fic, which is based off this ramble (idk why this is such a rabbit hole omfg)
warnings: RPF!! donât like, donât read, THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WRITING SMUT bear with me đđđ», hickeys, oral, overstimulation, i guess a little bit of cum play??, pet names (mama, ma, sweet girl, baby), strap + strap sucking, aftercare (all r receiving)
word count: 1,757, should take about thirteen and a half minutes to read
listen to: needy by ariana grande
finneas walked back to his room without a second glance. and as soon as the door shut, your girlfriend took the blanket off you. "come here. we're good now."
IT TOOK ONLY a matter of seconds for her to pounce on you. you'd only ever seen her like this a few times before. but every time it happened, you would try your best to ravish the feeling. because when billie was like this, you were getting treated right until you were ruined.
your back lay flush against the fluffy hotel pillows while your girlfriend grabbed your face and kissed you. rough. hard. almost with a force that knocked the wind out of you. oh ya, you were getting fucked.
she didn't stay near your face for long. but instead of reaching for your neck like she usually did, she instead reached for the top of your dress. since it was strapless, she was going to have a relatively easy time getting it off. "arms up."
you commanded to her words, putting your hands up as she pulled the shiny dress over your skin. what she found excited her even more. "no bra? oh, baby, you know what you're doing." the nickname. baby. it rolled off her tongue so well, so sultrly. it gave you goosebumps.
"and your nipples are hard?" accentuating her words, she wrapped her hands around your chest and rubbed the buds over her thumbs. not with any pressure, though. just so you could feel it there. "this is evidence, sweet girl. you found that hot and you know it."
suddenly, you felt a sharp pinch on your right nipple. it made you gasp. she just smirked and leaned down, quickly using her tongue to soothe the pain. you threw your head back as she started to rub your left nipple like previously.
after a while, when she was satisfied, she pulled away and switched nipples. it was like a game to her to see how much you could take. she, at some point, started to suck so hard you swore it would leave marks.
one she felt she had enough, she took her mouth off you. she stuck her tongue out, running a line down your cleavage. she went slowly, her tongue trailing down your body feeling like fire. her tongue quickly dipped in the trench of your belly button before reaching just above your clit.
right as she reached your pussy, she looked up at you. there were no words exchanged, but you could tell what she was asking you. if this was okay. thatâs the thing you loved about your girlfriend. no matter how desperate she was, if you told her to stop, she would. but, as you nodded, her soft gaze got thrown away.
today wasnât a teasing day. hell, barely even a prep day. almost immediately, she was on you like a prisoner eating their final meal.
billie left no mercy as she ate you out. her tongue took on different patterns, too spontaneous with her movement to care.
she seemed to do something new every few seconds. it transitioned from licking up and down your folds to sucking your clit to sliding her tongue down and into your entrance in such a way it made tears form in the corner of your eyes.
you whined and pulled her hair, making her chuckle into you. the action made you seem to fall even harder, the vibrations easing just the right ache.
billie was relentless. it was often she got engulfed in your pussy, not wanting to stop pleasing you until you were begging her not to. but this was different. it was feral the way she was licking up your arousal that was spilling onto her tongue. it was almost like she wanted to completely clean you out, not wanting a single part of you untouched.
once youâd finally announced you were close with a high pitched moan, she didnât even seem as if she heard you. she just kept up, sucking your sensitive bud and rolling her tongue around it.
when you did cum, it was fuzzy. it felt like laying on a cloud. well, only for a bit. until you realized billie was nowhere near done with you, licking up her reward.
â billie, bills! oh my god, bills, i came, i came!â your voice was high pitched as you squirmed, trying to get out of her iron clad grip on your thighs.
for whatever reason, which you didnât expect, she released, making a little âpop!â as if she was just sucking on a lollipop. to her, it was candy either way.
she quickly wiped her mouth with her sleeve before taking her pointer finger and sticking it back inside. you jolted, but she quickly took it out before you could whine again.
it was jarring the way she licked your release off her finger. but it was hot. it made you feel warm all over again, wanting her to devour you again and again and again.
billie crawled back up to kiss you lips. you could taste yourself on her tongue, making you reel. she pulled away quickly, a string of saliva connecting you. âiâm gonna get the strap,â she mumbled frantically.
you nodded, not at all complaining. you laid on your back, eagerly waiting as your girlfriend hopped off the bed and toward her suitcase. of course she brought the strap to a different country. of course she did.
you watched with hungry eyes as she undid the buckle on her belt, shimming her pants down to harness the fake dick around her waist.
as she walked back to the bed, she stopped right at the foot of it. you tilted your head in confusion. âcome here, mama, suck on it.â
you obeyed to her request, hopping off the bed and settling on your knees on the floor. you didnât immediately take the whole thing in at once, instead just going for the tip.
you hollowed your cheeks as if billie could feel the thing (which she always swore she could.) âmhm, just like that, baby, just like that.â she gently pushed your head forward, seeing just how far you could take the indigo dildo.
once sheâd decided youâd had enough, she commanded you off. immediately, you got on your back, easing into the pillows.
billie crawled on the bed to get into position. she cupped your face, giving you one more kiss, before grabbing the strap. she ran the tip of the dildo up and down your folds, collecting your slick. âyou ready for it, ma?â she asked as she lined it up with your entrance.
âyes.â she didnât need to be told twice. immediately, she sunk into your pussy, bottoming out. although you had a few different dildos that you two used, this one was the one you used the most. so, it was no surprise how your pussy immediately engulfed the silicone, almost like it for perfectly.
you groaned and threw your head back as billie drew tight circles on your clit with her finger. âjust tell me when i can move,â she spoke in a tone so soft it almost wasnât like she didnât just put 7 inches of silicone inside you.
after a while, you nodded.
billie didnât need to be told twice.
her thrusts started off gentle and calm, moving her hips to only take an inch out and put it back into your waiting hole. the slow speed of these thrusts made it so you could feel everything: the gentle touch of billieâs thighs against yours, the dildo pressing so nicely on your walls.
you were content with this. but, billie wasnât. at some point, it seemed she got bored, as she strung on of your legs over her shoulder and went faster.
the new angle made her be able to penetrate that spot all the way in the back that made you see stars. and with the speed and hardness she was going, the pleasure only multiplied.
âoh, fuck, billie, yaaa, right there,â you encouraged her. she only laughed and nodded in response.
it didnât take long for the sound of skin slapping on skin to take over the room. well, if you could even hear that over your moans. billie was fucking you with a rawness she hadnât shown in a while.
you swore you could feel the strap kissing your cervix with every thrust, making you unable to stop letting out sounds. little âuh, uh, uh, uhâs filled the room every time she thrust.
but, who could blame you? the strap was so deep you swore if you looked down, you could see it peeking through your stomach. but you couldnât even lift your head. the pleasure was too good.
your tits bounced as billie pounded into you, causing her to reach down and take your nipples between her fingers. âoh, you like this?â she teased you. âya, you like me fucking you like this? like you deserve? ya, i know, i know, it just feels so goodâŠâ
the feeling of your hard nipples being played with combined with the damage your girlfriend was doing to your pussy was starting to make you feel overwhelmed. like you were about to fall off the edge.
â billie, shit, i-iâm close,â you said out. âcan i cum? please, can i cum, please please pleaseâŠâ that made her smile.
âyou donât gotta beg me, baby. just let go.â
and let go you did. you slapped a hand over your mouth as your back arched off the bed. white hot was all you could see as billie slowed down, letting you ride out your high.
once you were done and could feel the seepage dripping out of you, you took your hand off your mouth, heavily breathing.
billie leaned down to kiss your lips. she smiled into it before pulling away. âyou doing okay?â she asked. you nodded. âiâm gonna pull out now, okay?â
in a few seconds, the strap was out of you, leaving you clenching around nothing. she quickly undid the harness and threw it somewhere across the room for her to wash later.
she pulled you into your arms and kissed your head, rubbing your back. âyou did so good for me, sweet girl. thank you for letting me do that.â
you hid your face into her neck and spoke. âof course, bills.â
she grinned and kissed your forehead. âokay, you go pee, then iâll run you a shower, ya?â she proposed. you nodded and went to crawl off the bed.
âhey!â she called out one more time. you turned your head back to look at her.
âi love you.â you beamed.
âi love you, too.â

Waves gently roll up on the sand as you walk along the shoreline. Up ahead, among the rocks, you can just barely make out the shine of red tresses in the moonlight, and it brings a smile to your face. You make your way further down the beach, heading right for the rock pile. As you get a bit closer the individual turns and smiles at you
âYou're lateâ she scolds, but her voice softens, âI was starting to get worriedâ
âIâm sorry, my love. The crew insisted I go with them to the pub tonight and wouldn't take no for an answerâ
âItâs okay, Iâm just glad you're here nowâ she says, patting the sand beside her, âSit with me?â
âIt would be my pleasureâ you reply, already starting to work your boots off
You sit down beside her in the damp sand and let the waves wash over your lower legs. Beside you her tail swishes playfully in the shallow water, and you take a moment to appreciate the way her dark scales shine. It reminds you of a starlit sky, inky black with small specks that shimmer
âThe night I rescued you was like thisâ she comments, bringing you out of your thoughts, âCalm and peaceful after the storm that had hit the day beforeâ
âIt was. And Iâm still so grateful that you found me. I wouldnât be here if not for you.â
âIâm glad I found you too, Iâve never known a human like youâ she admits, bringing her hand to rest on yours
âYou've never known a human at allâ you tease
âPersonally, no. But Iâve come across enough to know what they think of my kind and I know how they treat us. You arenât like that though, you're different.âÂ
âWell, I never saw any point in hating or fearing your kind. Even before you rescued meâ you admit
âThat's why you're specialâ she says, squeezing your hand affectionately, âYou donât hate what you donât understandâ
âWell, you're special too since you donât either. Iâm sure there's plenty of your kind that would despise meâ
âThere are.â She nods, âIt's why I always have us meet here, theyâd never risk being in this coveâ
âWhich is funny because most of my kind wouldnât be here either. The average townsperson doesnât even know this cove is here. And most sailors are too afraid it's haunted by the pirates that were killed and buried here a century ago.â
âLucky usâ she comments, letting her hand move from yours on the sand to cup your cheekÂ
âLucky us indeedâ you agree, leaning closer to her, âIâve missed youâ
âIâve missed you too, so muchâ she says, pulling you in for a kiss
You shift in the sand to be closer to her as your tongue slides into her mouth, and her hands grasp the back of your shirt tightly. She lets out a moan as your hand caresses the scales of her tail and pulls you even closer
   âI need you, dorogoy(darling)âÂ
A jolt of arousal goes through you at her admission and you can feel your pants beginning to get tighter at your crotch. You shift slightly to alleviate the pressure, which she notices, and she eagerly starts to palm your bulge. You let out a soft moan at the action but quickly move her hand aside to undo your trousers. She watches you strip and chuckles when you stumble, but all humor is forgotten once you're completely bare in front of her.
You straddle her tail and brush her long hair behind her back, exposing her neck gills and breasts to both your eyes and the night air. She shivers slightly, but also bites her lip in anticipation as she watches you eye her like a hungry seal
   âYou're so beautifulâÂ
She moans as you grab her tits, and her tail shifts beneath you as she attempts to seek more pleasure. You chuckle at her eagerness but relent, letting go of one of her plump mounds to grab your cock and guide it to her slit. There's already a decent amount of her arousal leaking out from it and onto her scales which helps you to slide inside her with ease. You both let out moans at the feeling of your tip spreading her open, and she lets out another as you slip further in
âGod, you feel so goodâ you murmur as you lower yourself further down, making her lean back and rest snuggly in the sand
She wraps her arms around your neck to pull you even closer, âSo do youâŠfuckâ
You smirk at that and begin to thrust your hips. Her hold on you tightens as you find a rhythm and you're almost certain you can feel her nails breaking the skin on your shoulder blades, but you hardly care. Your only focus right now is bringing her pleasure while getting yours as well
You brace your hands in the sand beside her as you quicken your pace and start to trail kisses across her chest as she pants, âYesâŠyesâŠright there!â
âFuck yesâ you hum in agreement, feeling yourself beginning to throb as her walls flutter around you, âIâm gonna cumâ
You admission makes a deep moan leave her before she's able to respond, âMe too, cum with me, pleaseâ
With a few more thrusts you're bringing her over the edge, and you follow swiftly behind. You continue to fuck her through both your orgasms, though your pace is slower now, to prolong the feeling and only stop when she whimpers and pushes on your shoulder gently
You still inside of her and lean down for a kiss. It's full of passion and longing on both ends, and you can practically feel her begging the universe for morning to never come, so the two of you can spend forever like this. Together, intertwined in passion in the still warm sands on the shore. But you unfortunately know that wish will never come to be
She breaks the kiss and looks at you with such care that your heart could burst, âI love youâ
   âI love you too, Tashaâ
She tries to not let her emotions show, but the shine of unshed tears doesnât go unnoticed, âI wish it could always be like this. Just the two of us, together and not confined to the secrecy of nightsâ
âI knowâ you murmur, resting your forehead against hers as you shift an arm closer to her to offer comfort, âI wish that too, so badlyâ
Her hands cup your face, âWill you hold me?â
You nod and shift away from her, pulling your now softened member free of her as you situate yourself. You both take a moment to appreciate the way your seed spills from her before you move to lay in the sand beside her. Your arms wrap around her waist and you pull her flush against you. She wraps her arms around you as well and nuzzles her face against your neck.
The two of you stay like that, wordlessly embracing each other as your hands softly map out the muscles of her back while hers keep you as close as possible until you both fall into a peaceful sleep
You're awoken hours later by the sound of gulls nearby and when you open your eyes you can just barely see the sun beginning to rise over the horizon. Your gaze then falls on the still sleeping mermaid in your hold and you canât help but smile. She's so beautiful and looks so at peace like this. You wish you could hold her like this whenever either of you saw fit or wanted it, not just as she slept. But longing for the impossible will do you no good, so instead you shuffle closer and press a gentle kiss to her neck just above her gills.
The corners of her mouth twitch ever so slightly, âGood morningâ
âGood morning, my loveâ you reply, letting your fingers run through her hair
âDo we still have some time together?â
You glance back to the sunrise, âA bitâ
âGoodâ she hums, wrapping her tail around your legs, âDonât want to say goodbye yetâ
âI never want toâ you admit
She smiles at you sadly, âNeither do Iâ
You lean forward and connect your lips to hers, momentarily taking both your minds off your impending departure as you both pour your love for the other out into the kiss. After a few minutes of making out you reluctantly pull away, but she pulls you back in for more
Finally you manage to break the kiss, âTasha, I have to goâ
âStay?â she asks, looking at you with such longing that your chest aches, âJust a bit longer?â
âYou know I wish I couldâ you reply, cupping her face and brushing away a stray tear, âBut I canât. Iâm sorry my loveâ
Though disappointed she understands, âWhen will I see you again?â
âTwo days from nowâ you answer as you sit up. You grab your discarded clothes and shake the sand out before beginning to put your shirt back on, âIt's not a long wait, but I will still miss youâ
   âIâll miss you tooâ
You lean back down for another kiss before you stand and start putting your undergarments and pants on. As you do so she slides down the shoreline a bit and gets her tail in the water. She lets the cool water wash away all signs of your night together as she uses her hands to knock as much sand from her hair as possible. Her gaze falls back on you once your boots are back on and you give her your best smile
âGo ahead home, my love. I donât want to leave until Iâm sure your safeâ
She smiles at you though it doesn't reach her eyes and she slides further into the water. Once she's deep enough for your liking she turns back around, âBe careful moya lyubov'(my love), Iâll see you soonâ
âI will be, and Iâll see you soonâ
You watch her reluctantly go under the water and you're able to track her shallow movements for a bit until she goes out past where any man would dare swim. It's only then that you turn and start to head back up the beach. You enter the treeline and follow your slightly worn path back to the main road, which you then follow to town. Thankfully it was early enough that most folk would still be asleep, and those that werenât were either too hungover to care about your disheveled appearance or were fellow sailors themselves and knew better than to ask where one of their own found themselves after a night of drinks.
Eventually you make it back to your small house and are greeted outside by the ornery stray that you let crash at your place. You chuckle at his scraggly meow and reach down to pet him. He purrs and flops down in front of you
âSilly cat. Come on, it's breakfast timeâ
He hops up and scurries to your front door where he yowls and scratches at the wood. He bolts inside as soon as you open the door and runs right to your small table. He jumps up on it and yowls some more, clearly impatient with you. You chuckle and toss him a fish you'd grabbed on your way through town. He happily licks and munches on it as you head back outside to collect some water from your well. Once back inside you head to your room with the small bin of water and strip yourself.
You use a sponge and the basin of water to clean yourself up and get rid of all the remaining sand and grime from your body. After you deem yourself clean enough you get changed and head back into the other room. All that's left on your table are the bones of the fish and the cat now sits in your windowsill all stretched out
âIâll see you later boy.â you tell him, scratching his chin before heading out the door and back to the docks
Finally it's two days later and Natasha can hardly contain her excitement. She thought she was being discreet enough, but apparently she hadnât been because her best friend, fellow mermaid Wanda, is inquiring about her mood
âWhat's got you so happy today?â
âAm I not normally happy?â Nat deflects, but it doesnât deter her friends curiosity
Wanda rolls her eyes, âYou are, but tonight seems different. It's like you're anticipating somethingâ
Nat just shrugs, âCanât I just be in a good mood?â
âYou can, Iâm sorryâ Wanda says, deciding it's best to drop the matter. Though she definitely knows her best friend is up to something.Â
Hours later this is confirmed when she notices the redhead slip away from their pod. She knows she should give her friend privacy, but she also knows Nat is hiding something and she's far too curious to just let that slide. She discreetly follows behind at a distance, making sure she's far enough behind to not be spotted but also close enough that she wouldnât lose the redhead.Â
Eventually theyâre in shallow water by the shoreline, and when Nat slides herself up on the beach Wanda takes cover behind some rocks nearby. She hopes that with only her head above the water she will blend in with them in the cover of darkness. She watches as a human appears and starts to make their way down the beach towards her friend. Her heart hammers in her chest as panic fills her, she can see that Nat also notices the human so why doesnât she hide? Why does she sit there like an open target?
Natasha can hardly contain herself when she finally sees you approaching her, if she had legs she knows sheâd be running to you. Instead she sits and waits with a big smile on her face as you hurriedly advance. As soon as you're within arms reach she holds out her arms to you and you let out a chuckle. You eagerly oblige however and quickly kneel in the sand to engulf her in your embrace
âMissed youâ she mumbles against your neck as she practically melts into your hold
You card your fingers through her still damp locks, âMissed you too. I always doâ
She pulls back a bit in order to give you a kiss, which you happily reciprocate before sitting down fully in the sand. Nat doesnât move far though and keeps her arms firmly around you, but you donât mind. You're just as happy to hold her as she is
As the two of you embrace, Wanda nearly has a meltdown. What in the world was Natasha doing sneaking off to meet a human? What in the world was she doing kissing a human? This wasn't just out of character for the older mermaid but was quite dangerous as well. It just didnât make sense. There were plenty of suitable members of their pod and plenty in it that liked the redhead, so she couldn't fathom why sheâd chose to be with a disgusting and terrible creature like humans.
She knows this is a private moment between her best friend and her apparent lover, but knowing what humans are capable of, knowing what theyâve taken from her, she just canât find it in herself to leave. She probably wouldnât be much help if something happened, mind you, but sheâd rather be here just in case rather than leave Natasha at the mercy of a potential threat.Â
Back on shore you continue to hold Natasha, whose hands travel down to your own to toy with your fingers. However as she does so her eyes follow and she notices an injury to your forearm. Her brows furrow in concern as one of her palms soothes your inflamed flesh
   âWhat happened?â
âRope burnâ you answer, âA rigging line near me snapped. Thankfully this was all that happenedâ
She pretends to understand fully, but she gets the gist, âYouâre okay then?â
âYeah, I'll be healed up in no timeâ
She continues to gently caress your skin there for a bit, trying to distract herself from the nagging thoughts at the back of her head about how she wouldnât know if you were badly hurt until you missed showing up for a nighttime rendezvous. You can sense a bit of her inner turmoil and pull her closer, hoping that the current closeness to you will drown out the negativity
The two of you spend the next couple hours in various cuddled positions while talking about everything and nothing. You were both truly content to just get this time together, it wasnât rare per say, but it was always hard for both of you to be without each other throughout the day. And even harder to spend a few days and nights apart from each other entirely. Normally that meant Nat and you would spend the night together on the beach, but she knew her best friend had been suspicious today and didnât want to risk it
âI should goâ she says, quickly continuing once she notices your hurt and confused expression, âWanda caught on thay I was excited for something today, I just donât want to risk her being nosey and waking early or perhaps not even be sleeping yetâ
You nod in understanding, âOkay. Iâll see you here tomorrow, right?â
âOf courseâ she assures, leaning in for a kiss
After you break apart you reluctantly let her go and watch her slide into the water, âI love youâ
âI love you tooâ she replies with a sad smile before submerging
As you stood and walked back up the beach you had no idea that a confrontation was occurring just below the waves. As soon as Nat had started to depart Wanda had dove under and waited, this was a conversation that definitely couldât occur back at their pod.
   âWanda, what-â
âDonâtâ she interrupts, âNatasha, what the hell are you thinking?! A human?! Really?!â
   âShe's differentâ she stresses
But Wanda isnât having it, âShe's a human!â
âShe isnât afraid of us, she doesnât find us disgusting, she isnât cruel or violentâ she explains, âShe is nothing but kind, generous and lovingâ
Wanda still looks displeased and crosses her arms, âShe's still a human. What would happen if the rest of the pod found out, or your parents?â
Natashas eyes widened, âYou canât tell them, please Wanda.â
âIâm just trying to keep you safeâ she stresses
âI am safe!â Nat assures, âY/n would never hurt me, not ever. She loves me, just as I love herâ
âAnd what about her friends or just her townspeople, do they share that sentiment?â
âYou know they donâtâ she scoffs
   âThen you arenât safeâ
âWanda, pleaseâ she begs, âIâve never felt this way about anyone before, and Iâve never been treated the way she treats me. Canât you just be happy for me and let me have this? Please?â
Wanda bites her tongue, keeping the snide comment about not being able to fully be with this human anyway so why did it matter to herself, âI just donât want to see you get hurt.â
âI know, and I love how fiercely protective you are, but I promise you, Y/n is different. And she would do anything to keep me safeâ The younger mermaid huffs, clearly not convinced, âIâm seeing her again tomorrow, come with meâ
   âWhat?â
âCome with me, come meet herâ Nat explains, âYouâll see what she's really like and maybe youâll understand. But even if you still donât you can at least be at ease knowing Iâm in good hands with herâ
âI donât know NatâŠâ she sighs
âPlease, just do this. And if you still have bad feelings about it after meeting her thenâŠ.then you can tell my parents.âÂ
âYou really mean that?â she questions, finding hard to even entertain the idea of enjoying a humans company
  âI doâ she confirmsÂ
âOkay. Iâll come with you tomorrowâ
Nat lets out a sigh of relief, âThank youâ
âMhm, now come on. Let's get back before someone notices our absence and we have to explainâ
The next night comes quicker than Natasha had anticipated, probably due to how nervous she is. She wants to believe that Wanda will be able to get over her deep hatred for the entire human race once she gets to know you and maybe eventually she can even become friendly with you. But she's aware of just how much the other woman has lost at the hands of humans and would understand if that never happened. Really she just needs Wanda to like you, and considering how easily she liked you, she's hopeful, but still nervous.
âAre you ready to have your midnight rendezvous with your lover?â
Nat tries to hide the fact that her best friends teasing has made her blush, âQuiet, someone might hear youâ
Despite her disapproval Wanda chuckles, âCome on, lets goâ
The two swim in a comfortable silence until they near the shoreline, âLet me go up first and explain whats going on?â
Wanda nods, âSure, I wouldnât want to scare your human away.â
Nat glares at her before she swims up and slides onto the beach. She only has to wait a few minutes before you arrive. You eagerly greet her like you normally do, with a hug and a kiss, which she eagerly indulges you in. But then you notice her looking at you rather seriously
   âWhat's wrong?â
âNothing wrong, at least, I hope soâ she starts out, âMy friend Wanda- â
   âYour best friendâ
Nat smiles and feels her heart flutter, just the fact that you always remembered the small things about her made her feel so cared for, âYes, well, she followed me here last night. She saw us together.â
Your face pales, âI image she isnât happyâ
âShe isnât happy about it, but she's willing to meet you. To try and understand us.â she explains, âShe's waiting for me to grab her, I just wanted you to knowâ
   âOkay, yeah. Go aheadâ
She quickly slides back into the water and shortly emerges with a brunette mermaid in tow. She looks a bit grumpy but she's just as beautiful. You smile warmly at her in the hopes to ease the tension between you both. She slides up on the beach beside Natasha.
âHi Wanda, it's nice to meet you, Natashas talked a lot about you.â you greet, âIâm Y/nâ
Wanda nods in your direction, âI unfortunately canât say the sameâ
Nat blushes a bit in embarrassment, âI just knew how youâd reactâ
Is quiet for a moment before Wanda regards you, âHow did you two meet?â
âShe saved my lifeâ you admit, âI was out on my old fishing vessel and there was a sudden storm, the ship took major damage and I fell overboard. I was adrift at sea on some debris for a few hours. Once the storm passed she found me. She thought I was dead at first until she got closer, and she was surprised by my calm reaction to her. We spent some time just staring at each other and talking before she took me to shoreâ
Wanda gives her friend a side glance, âThat's all it took?â
She shrugs, âShe didnât respond to me like most humans do and was kind. I wasnât just going to leave her out there. The elements would have killed her quickly, or the sharks would have. That felt cruelâ
Wanda realizes she differs from Natasha greatly here, because she would have just left you there to die. In her eyes, after losing both parents and her brother to their cruel ways, all humans deserve to die. It didnât matter if they were in trouble or if they seemed nice. A human was a human.
âSo you two just started seeing each other after that?â
âKindaâ Nat says, âWe were both pretty enamored with each other and agreed to start meeting up at this beach on occasion.â
âEventually on occasion became every free moment we both had, and we realized we felt something for each other.â you explain
âSomething we couldnât denyâ Nat continues
Wanda observes the way you both look at each other, and she recognizes the love that's so obviously there. She used to see it all the time in her parents, and if she was finally being honest with herself it's also the same way she herself looked at Natasha
âPromise me that youâll take care of her? That you wonât hurt her?â Wanda asks, staring at you intently
âI promise. Natasha means the world to me, I could never harm herâ
Nat grabs ahold of your hand and the brunette nods, âYou better mean that, or elseâ
You chuckle slightly and look at Nat, âYou were right, she did give me the talkâ
The three of you spend the rest of the night talking, and you and Wanda get to know each other a bit. She isnât incredibly open about anything, but she's far more talkative than Natasha had anticipated her to be. She's happy about that though, and she thinks youâll be good for Wanda. Carrying around so much hate and bitterness for your entire species was slowly driving her down a dark path, and truthfully she was worried at times that sheâd lose the brunette to it. But this was a good start in the opposite direction.
After a few more hours pass they decide they should head back, and you bid them both farewell. Your goodbye with Nat was of course longer and more intimate, which Wanda teased you both about before they slipped into the sea and headed home.
It didnât take long after that for a new routine to occur. Now instead of only Natasha visiting you at night, Wanda did too. Not every time, as she still wanted to give you and Nat your time together as a couple, but she did occasionally tag along. It was nice, for both you and her. It gave you a mermaid other than that to learn things about and from, and it made you feel more at ease knowing Nat had a good friend. And it helped Wanda see that there is some good out there in humans. It might not be common but it did exist, and knowing you better also helped her trust you with her best friend's care.
And Natasha was more than happy to see the two of you getting along. Other than her family, you and Wanda were the most important people in her life so for you to be becoming friends made her incredibly happy. She had always hoped the two of you would be able to get close, she just hadn't known how it would come to be. Thankfully, Wanda had taken care of that part by following her curiosity. Something both you and Nat still teased her for.Â
But one night, to everyone's surprise, about three months after you and Wanda had solidified your friendship another change happened. It started out as any normal night with Natsha would. She came alone this time, or so she thought, and waited for you on the beach as she usually would. You greeted her like usual, holding her close and giving her a few kisses. But it was clear rather quickly that she wanted and needed more than that tonight. She eagerly pulled you closer, kissed you deeper and palmed your bulge.Â
You groaned against her lips and pressed yourself further into her touch, âTashaâ
âIâm right here, detka(baby)â she assures in a hushed tone as she continues her movements.Â
After a few more strokes she undoes your pants and slips your now hardened member free. You let out a subconscious sigh of relief as you're freed from the confines of your pants, and when her hand wraps around you again you throb. She smirks at you and your expression of enjoyment before she lowers herself. She wraps her lips around your tip and teases it with her tongue
âOh god, Tashaâ you moan as you bring your hand up to tangle in her still damp hair
She hums around you and takes you deeper into her mouth, eliciting sounds of pleasure from you as she begins to bob her head. Between her tongues movements, the feeling of her mouth around you, and the sounds she makes as she chokes on your cock, you know you wonât last terribly long
What both of you failed to realize however was that at some point Wanda had changed her mind about joining Natasha on the beach tonight. When the redhead had first asked about it she had declined but she was bored tonight and decided no harm could come from heading up a bit late. She hadnât anticipated that the two of you would be involved in such an act, let alone right out in the open
She knows she shouldnât be watching, this was a very personal and intimate act, but she finds herself unable to look away. Sheâd be lying if she claimed to have never had any more than friendly feelings for her best friend, and as she got to know you she found those same feelings emerging. She never intended to say anything as she valued her friendships with both of you too much to risk ruining them in any way. But maybe there was no harm in merely watching. At least that's what she told herself
Back on the beach you're getting close to release, and Natasha knows it based on the way you throb in her mouth. She doubles down on her efforts and with a few more bobs of her head she finds herself swallowing your load. She releases you with a soft pop and looks up to find you trying to catch your breath. But when you open your eyes, your shocked to see Wanda out in the water. Nat feels the way you stiffen and immediately turns to see whats wrong and she's shocked to see Wanda as well.Â
But her eyes briefly meet yours and she smirks as she looks back out to the brunette, âWell, are you just going to wade there all night?â
Wanda's cheeks heat up as she realizes she's been caught, and she decides to come forward. She joins you both on the beach, âIâm sorry, I hadnât meant to intrudeâ
âIf you wanted to see, or to join, all you had to do was ask Wansâ the redhead admits
Wanda is taken back by this, and searches her best friend's face for any sign of teasing or insincerity, but she finds none. She looks at you then and sees nothing but a soft and welcoming expression
âYou think Y/n and I havent noticed how close youâve been getting with us? You think we havenât been feeling and wanting some of the same things?â
Wanda just stares, too shocked by the admittance to say anything, so you speak up, âWe have noticed Wanda, and we want you tooâ
   âYou do?â
Nat smiles and cups her face, âWe doâ
And that's how Wanda finds herself on her back in the sand with Nat groping at her tits and sucking marks against her neck while your fingers stretch her open. She whimpers as you curl them just right and her tail thrashes lightly in an adorable manner
âYou're doing so good for usâ you coo as you continue to pump your fingers, causing her walls to clench down around you
She moans again at Nat smirks against her collarbone, âThats it Wans, just like that. Just let goâ
She moans your names as she comes undone, clutching at the redhead while wrapping her tail around you to keep you both close as you continue to help her through her orgasm. Eventually you pull your fingers free and offer them to Nat, whole eagerly cleans them
You look down at Wanda with a smirk, âWeâre going to have so much fun with you, sweetheartâ
A few months have gone by since then, and Wanda has easily fit into your dynamic. You're a bit more at ease now too, knowing that in your absences they at least have each other. But god do you miss them terribly when away. Thankfully your crew would be taking some much needed time off, and you intended to spend every night of that time on the beach with the two of them. You knew they were as excited as you were.
Your just on your way to the market to procure supper for the night when one of your crewmates, the youngest of them actually runs up to you as if his pants were ablaze
âY/n! Come on, you gotta come with me!â he shouts as he starts to pull you away from the hustle and bustle of the market. You have no choice but to follow
âWhat's all the fuss about Charlie?â you ask as the younger man hurries you along
âPhil and the guys caught something, and you have to see it to believe it!â
Your stomach twists as he suddenly turns onto the rather hidden path that you usually take to the cove. But you try to quench your anxieties. You normally met them at night afterall and it was still early morning, surely they wouldnât be here yet. Phil probably nabbed a big hammerhead, you know they frequented the old wreck nearby.
âCharlie! Down here!â you hear Stu call out as you both break through the tree line and step onto the beach.Â
He's pointing at a net that Erik is attempting to drag further out of the water. A task that is much harder than it should be due to the intense flopping of the nets contents. Charlie quickly bolts down the beach to help him and as you get closer you can finally make out what's thrashing around in the green and brown netting. And that's when your heart drops into your stomach. It's just as you feared, the occupants of the net are indeed your two beloved mermaids, and they're beyond terrified. Natasha does a good job at seeming stoic, but you've learned to read her well. And Wanda doesnât even try to hide it as she clutches onto the redhead. But after everything humans have done to her family, you don'tâ blame her
âKogda ya osvobozhus', ya pererezhu tebe vse glotki!(when I am free, I will cut all your throats!)â she snears
âKeep your spells to yourself sea witch, or Iâll carve out your tongue right here!â Phil threatens as he kicks her red tail. That's when he notices your arrival, âAh, Y/n!â
âPhil.â you curtly greet, trying not to let any venom from the rage you currently feel slip into your words as you feel two pairs of green eyes land on you.Â
âLook at what I managed to capture!â he says all excited, âCan you believe it!â
âSuch rare creaturesâ Erik says, âTo find two of them, we are lucky!â
âYeah, and all of it's bad. They're such disgusting thingsâ Stu adds, and you have to fight back the urge to correct him with your fist
âThey're monsters. Killersâ Charlie adds, âOne of these things took my father to the grave, if given the chance, they'd take us to our graves too.â
âDorogoy(darling), pleaseâ Natasha calls out, breaking your heart
You know it seems like you're not going to do anything to help them, as all you've done is stand and stare, but in reality you've been planning how to take out all four men on your own since you laid eyes on her and Wanda.Â
âIt can speak like we doâ Erik states in awe
Stu looks absolutely mortified, âI say we gut them right here. Bring only their corpses back to town. They donât need to be alive to be seen as more than fables.â
âY/n! Please!â Wanda begs, tears streaming down her face
That's when the chaos momentarily calms, and all men turn to you. You're already braced to fight, as there's no way in hell youâd let them slaughter the women you loved.
âIt knows your nameâ Phil states as he eyes you suspiciouslyÂ
âShe. She knows my nameâ you correct, âActually they both do, and I know theirsâ
Now Stu is looking at you too, âWhat?â
Instead of answering you throw a punch at Erik. He hadnât seen it coming and so it takes him off balance and he falls to his hands and knees in the sand and Charlie scrambles away from your other sideÂ
âWhat the fuck are you doing!?â Phil shouts as he reaches down to help Erik up
âIâm not going to let you kill themâ
âWhy the fuck not?!â Stu questions as he pulls out his knife and points it towards the net, âThese things arenât natural!â
You pull your knife out too, âI swear if you hurt either of them, Iâll gut you like you threatened to do to themâ
Phil opens his mouth, likely in an attempt to calm everyone down and figure out just what is going on in your head, but Erik doesnât give him a chance. As soon as he's on his feet again he's charging at you. You dodge his punch and land one of your own to his gut, avoiding using the hand that held the blade. He lets out an oomph as he stumbles away from you and Charlie rushes you next. He's a spry boy and is able to get a few hits in before you get your own in, but he doesnât fall or stumble like Erik had. Instead he pulls his own knife from his boot
âI donât want to hurt youâ you stress, âIâm just protecting themâ
âYeah? And who protected my father? They deserve whatever fate happens upon them!â
It's clear he's lost to his rage and you nod solemnly, âThen so do youâ
Erik tries to intervene by lunging at you, but you quickly sidestep and get him in a chokehold with your free arm while your other points your knife at Charlie. As you grapple with the two of them, Phil and Stu grab the net and start to pull the women further away from you and towards the treeline. They're putting up too much of a fight however and so the men donât get far. This pisses them off and they decide to separate the two. You're too busy to notice until Nat lets out a yell
   âGet your hands off her!â
You glance over to see Stu grabing a fistfull of Wandas hair as he attempts to pull her away from the older mermaid. You can see that Nats held back from doing anything to stop it by Phil holding his cutlass up to her sternum. Rage fills you and you no longer care about harming an unarmed man. You thrust your blade into Eriks chest and he lets out a strangled gasp. You pull the blade free and shove him aside, reading yourself for Charlie. The young boy's gaze falls upon his older friend who now gasps for air and clutches at his white shirt that quickly spreads with blood as he mindlessly stumbles away from you.Â
Charlie wipes a few of his tears as he looks back at you with a sneer, âIâll kill you for thatâ
   âYouâll tryâ
He runs at you with his knife raised, unintentionally leaving himself open for you. Your free hand grabs his wrist to stop his blade as yours punctures his sternum. His eyes widen and his chin quivers as a drop of blood drips down his chin
âIâm sorry kid. Youâll be with your father soon.â You doubt the words are any comfort to him, but it makes you feel a bit better as you wrench your knife free of his bodyÂ
You quickly turn on your heel to see that Stu has fully removed Wanda from the net and still has her by the hair. His back is to you though, and Phil is struggling to wrap the net back around Natasha, and so you have an advantage.
You go running towards them and tackle the man. His knife slips from his hand as does your knife from yours, and the three of you tumble down to the sand. He lets go of the younger mermaids hair to twist himself around and the two of you struggle for control of the other
âWanda, go!â you shout as you shove the man's face into the sand, âGet to the water!â
âBut Natasha!â she stresses, turning to look at the other woman only to see the other man now coming towards her
   âIâll get her!â you promise
  âGo!â Nat adds, âNow!â
Wanda listens and turns over on her belly and starts to slide herself towards the water. Just as she gets out of reach Stu elbows you in the face, it's hard enough that you can feel blood start to drip as your face meets the sand. Stu grunts as his hands wrap around your throat
âI swear if you hurt that boy, Iâll-â
His threat is cut out as your vision starts to go black and your ears start to ring. But you're still with it enough to see Phil go to move past you both, heading to grab Wanda. You canât let that happen so you kick out with your legs. Thankfully one of them hits Phil in his knee and he stumbles in the opposite direction. It's enough of a distraction that Stus' grip on you lightens and you use that to your advantage.Â
You feel around in the sand until you find a nice sizable rock and you swing your arm powerfully. The rock hit Stu hard and he falls over in a heap. You wiggle free from under him just in time to see Wanda slip into the water, and you let out a sigh of relief. Phils gaze goes to you then to Stu, whose blood is soaking into the sand beneath his head
   âWhat have you done?â
âWhat I had toâ you answer
âYou killed your own crewmates!â he shouts, grabbing his cutlass
You stand and grab yours âIâd do it again if it meant keeping them safeâÂ
As your sword clashes with his Natasha looks out to the water. She canât help but smile when she sees how far out Wanda is, but when she hears the sound of your sword meeting his, her heart sinks. You've done everything you can to keep her and Wanda safe, you've killed your own friends for them. But your weakened after so much, and she's worried you may yet get injured
Despite her worry she can't just sit here, so she starts to wiggle some more, hoping that the net will have mercy and release her. But then she sees it, your knife glinting in the sand within reach. She shimmies over and reaches out, carefully grabbing the blade and pulling it towards her until the handle is close enough. She wastes no time and starts slicing away at the nets that hold her
You've managed to slice Phils leg but he's also managed to slice your arm. The two of you had always been the best with the sword, hence why you were the only on the fishing vessels crew that carried them, but this worked against you now.Â
âIâm going to take great pleasure in killing you in front of themâÂ
You barely manage to parry his blade in time and you stumble backwards a bit. This seems to amuse him and thinking he has the upper hand he begins to circle you. You mirror his movements and work on catching your breath as he tries to intimidate you. He lunges, but it's more show than it is fight and you manage to slice his hand. He shouts in pain as he drops his sword and he looks at you with pure dred as you lunge.
âDonât-â but your blade goes right through his heart, stopping whatever he might say
You let it stay lodged there and move to help Nat, who you can see has worked herself partially free, âYou okay?â
Relief washes over her features, âYes, are you?â
âIâll be fine, small wounds that will healâ you tell her, kneeling down to pull her tail free from the net, âThere we go.â
But just then Nat sees movement behind you. She doesnât have time to warn you however and suddenly there's a pain in your side, âY/n!â
âI told you Iâd kill you if you hurt that boyâ You can feel the blood drip from Stus head and onto you as he twists his blade into your ribs
âAhgh!â you gasp as the pain sets in and you can feel the air leaving your lungs as he pulls the knife free
You fall and try to scramble away from him, and just as he goes to grab you again he lets out a scream. You look up to see your knife, which Nat had still been holding, is now lodged in his chest. You smile, damn proud of her, but just as his body hits the sand, yours does too
âNo!â she shouts, sliding over to your side. She places a hand under your head as the other puts pressure on the wound, âDorogoy(darling)?â
âNice throwâ you grunt as her face comes into view. You hate that you're the cause of the tears in her beautiful eyes, âDonât cryâ
âThis is my faultâ she whimpers, âThis is all my fault. If I had stayed away like Wanda said we shouldâ
âHey, hey, donât do thatâ you tell her, âDonât blame yourselfâ
You're now aware of another presence on your other side and glance over to see Wanda. The brunette looks just as upset as the redhead that's holding you and your heart crumbles further
   âMilaya(sweetheart), you saved usâ
You relax into her hand as she cups your cheek, âId do anything for the two of youâ
A cough tears its way through you then, and to their horror blood comes up and drips from the corner of your mouth
âNo, no pleaseâ Nat begs, pressing harder on your side
You let out a hiss in pain, âIt's okayâŠâ
âNo! No it isn't!â Nat stresses, âIâm not ready to let you goâ
   âIâm not eitherâ Wanda adds
Nat quickly looks to the brunette, âCan you heal her?â
âI- I donât know. Agatha only just taught me healing magicâ she explains
   âYou've got to try, otherwiseâŠâ
Wanda nods, âIâll try my bestâ
She puts her hand over Nats on your wound and lets the redhead pull away so that she is the one now putting pressure on you, and she does her best to focus on closing up the stab. But to her frustration nothing happens. She keeps her hand in place however and keeps trying, willing everything in her to just focus and heal you but still nothing happens
A wave of anger overtakes her and she canât help but lash out at the universe, âEnough has been taken from me, I will not lose her! She belongs with us!â
A sudden rush of red energy surges out of her and into you, taking all three of you by surprise. Nat had seen Wanda's magic before but it had been small red sparks or a small flame like wave, nothing as large as this. And it certainly never made the brunette lean over in apparent exhaustion like she is now currently doing
âYou okay?â Natasha asks, reaching out to steady her. She nods in confirmationÂ
Natasha's attention moves back to you then, and for a moment she fears the worst. Though your wound appears to be closed now your eyes are now too and you lay completely motionless, it doesnât even look like you're breathing. She feels her own breath catch in her throat as she lays a hand on your chest
âY/n?â she calls out, barely above a whisper as she gently shakes you
Your eyes snap open and you take a deep breath, âHoly shitâ
You try to sit up and the redhead moves to help you. Its then that she notices a change in you, something new and very familiar to her but foreign to you is now along your neck
âIt worked?â Wanda asked in disbeliefÂ
âIt more than workedâ Nat replies, a few tears building in her eyes, âLookâ
Wanda looks to where Nat is pointing to see that you now have a pair of gills, just like theirs. Somehow in her anger fueled magical outburst she had not only made sure to keep you alive but had also made you more like them
   âWhat's wrong?â
They both shake their heads but its only Wanda that finds her words, âYou can come home with usâ
âWhat?â you ask again, even more confused now, âWhat do you mean?â
Nat grabs one of your hands and brings it to your neck and your eyes widen in realization, âSee, we donât have to be apart anymore. You can come home with usâ
âThat sounds perfectâ you admit, smiling at both women softly
âYou arenât mad then?â Wanda asks, worried youâd be upset that she made such a massive change
You shake your head, âOf course Iâm not. This is great, if we can actually be together now that is. Iâm not sure how accepting your kind will be of my legsâ
Both women smile at you and Nat cups your face, âYouâll be a little different than everyone else, but youâll be with us. That's all I care about. If anyone makes a fuss about your differences, Wanda and I will deal with themâ
   âDamn right we willâ
You laugh, âLet's go home thenâ

@star2fishmeg anything for you my queen!! i tried to squeeze everything in :) you are always so sweet & i love seeing you in my notifs and asks <3
Warnings: spit kink, size kink, dirty talk, mentions of cockwarming. WC: 821
âThey just donât know you like I do,â Luke muses, never letting his lips part from yours for very often.
âTheyâ refers to your friends, who have just met Luke for the first time. You all went to dinner together. Youâre not the tallest woman, and youâre perfectly comfortable with that. In the past, youâve been known to avoid height differences. Secretly, itâs because you donât think anyone should ever be able to see the top of your head so easily.Â
Luke is the exception to the pattern. In the months that youâve been dating him, heâs proven time and time again the height differencesâ and size differences in generalâ have their advantages.Â
His cock is the biggest youâve ever taken and it drives you wild. When Luke fucks you hard, it feels like heâs actually rearranging your insides. When he fucks you soft and sweet, he still brushes against your deepest spots.
Luke bites his bottom lip, then mouths at yours. âAll those other boys,â he ponders. âThey canât fuck you like I can, can they?â
âNo,â you agree. âFuck, Luke, youâre so big. Yâfill me so well.â
âMm,â he hums. âThatâs what I like to hear.â
Luke shifts inside of you, bringing a hand to your thigh and guiding your leg until it hooks around his hip. It allows him to bury himself deeper into your warmth.Â
You meet him halfway, hooking your legs around his waist by your ankles so he doesnât have to keep you there. Lukeâs able to touch your stomachâ able to press down on your skin with his large, flat palm until he can feel himself moving instead of you. The pressure increases the drag against your walls, which, in turn, only increasures your pleasure.
Your head falls back against the pillow, hands flush against Lukeâs bicep and the hair at the nape of his neck.Â
âTheyâre just not big enough to satisfy you,â Luke continues. Heâs pouting a bit to embellish his point. âOnly my cock is big enough to make you moan like this, to make you come as hard as you do.â
âUh-huh,â you confirm mindlessly, pulling Luke in closer. He kisses you again, taking the sounds from your mouth and swallowing them.Â
âYour friends donât get it either,â Luke says. âYou havenât told them how good I make you feel? You donât brag about the big cock that your tight pussy swallows every chance it gets?â The corners of his lips turn up and he pecks your mouth once more before pulling away as much as youâll allow. âThey donât know how much you like that Iâve ruined you for anyone else?â
Of course youâve bragged about Luke to your friends. Of course youâve talked about your sex life during gossip sessions and girls nights. You donât say anything, obviously, because his gloating is just as sexy as his precise actions are.Â
âDo they know you like this?â Luke asks, forming a ball of spit and launching it at the place where your bodies meet. His saliva splatters across your folds and the impact feels gargantuan in this state.
You moan aloud, your hips rocking impatiently. Youâre begging for more, ecstasy contorting your features.Â
Luke spits again, then rubs the fluid into your clit with his thumb. Thrilling waves course up your spine and your reaction causes Luke to grin. Occasionally, his nail will catch your clit and cause you to jolt.Â
Slowly, to prove a point, Luke draws himself out of you. Heâs fucked you for long enough that youâre open and ready for him to shove back inâ and he will. âLook,â Luke coos. âLook at my cock as it enters your cunt, baby. I want you to watch how well you take me.â
You pick up your head, eyes growing wild with desire. You find your core in your eyeline and Luke relishes in the way your pupils grow at the sight. He makes you wait just a second too long beforeâ
Filling you in one thrust. Involuntarily, the breath is knocked from your lungs. Your chest heaves and your fingers tug at his curls, which makes Luke shiver.Â
He does it again.
âThis cunt was made to take my cock,â Luke reminds you. âSuch a perfect fit. No wonder the other guys couldnât satisfy you. They just couldnât fill you like I can.â
âNever,â you say, nodding along with his words. âFuck, Luke, more. Fill me more.â
He snuffles out a laugh. âYou want my cum? Want me to come in this pretty pussy?â
You curse, clenching down on him. Luke returns to a consistent rhythm, pushing you closer to your peak. Once you come, heâll give you what you want. Heâll fuck his cum into you, then heâll watch it slide back out.Â
Then, he might just keep it plugged inside of you. Even soft, his cock is the perfect thing to keep you full.

Check out the Racing Hearts Masterlist!
Word Count: 1.9k (sorry but iâll work my way up again đȘ)
Jason finally had time to check his phone. He removed any miscellaneous notifications he forgot to silent before getting to the track this morning, but he was checking for a familiar name and icon.
It was like a little surge was invading his bones. He couldnât help smiling at your conversations, it was like he was back to a teenager nervously trying to talk to a crush, but he didnât have a lot of experience with those.
The times he rarely did have a fling, he kept it private, left it before it could be a scandal that he would be chewed out for.
But this.
This was new. He knew it was different when he was trying to get any attempt to still make sure you were fine with being with him.
What really made his stomach churn was when he couldnât bring you to the airport to see him off. It felt wrong to leave your place without you behind him, leaving you to kiss only him goodbye, but not asking to follow him to the airport.
He tried to brush off the feeling the entire flight, but he couldnât squish the thought that he wanted you here. That other than a quick romance, he could talk to you about his personal life, and he was fighting to throw you on the next plane so you could watch him race.
Maybe a dramatic kiss after he won would be nice. But, that was too cliché.
While deep in his thoughts, Roy tried to peak over Jasonâs shoulder, trying to see what he was looking at, but it was not smart to try that on such a tall man. All he could manage to see was an open browser with plane flights.
âYou tryna leave me here by myself?â Roy calmly asked, keeping his eyes down at the phone.
Jason frowned, not surprised at the nosey man.
âYou get a little friend and now you want to leave me?â Roy feigned tears, placing his hands gently onto Jasonâs shoulders. âIf you must, then go! I can get us a championship. I can handle that for us.â
Jason sighed, closing his phone.
âShouldnât you be watching Lian? Why are you bothering me and what are you talking about?â He asked.
âLianâs always with the crew, sheâs more interested in the buttons than behind the wheelâdonât try to distract me, Iâm not stupid, Jaybird. I knew you were a two timer.â Roy pointed an accusing finger into Jasonâs face. âI saw that interview and I know that look in your eyes. I even commented on that video.â
âUh, huh.â Jason ignored him and walked away, this time looking back at his phone to try to type, not reacting to Royâs antics.
âIâm surprised your brothers havenât bothered you about it. Dickâs gonna be jealous when I tell him youâre trying to get a flight back for love.â Roy aimlessly followed Jason, adjusting the cap on his head as he playfully wiggled his brows.
âThat dickwad is probably too busy hiding behind a badge for that. He needs to find better things to do than bother me.â Jason stopped pacing, looking back at the red hair tail that canât seem to get off him. âAnd you need to watch your daughter and also stop bothering me.â
âThatâs what Iâm here for.â Roy sung. âJust me and you on this track forever, plus Lian, never leaving each other while we embraceâwith Lian, of course.â He opened his arms for a hug.
Jason gave Roy an impassive look, not bothered to even give him an expression.
Still with open arms and a smile on his face, Roy waited before a small voice shouted out.
âJayJay! JayJay!â Lianâs small shout catches Royâs attention.
âMy Lian!â Roy reached out to grab his daughter walking with one of the crew members, finally relieving them from their babysitting duty. âNo Jaybird today, Lian, heâs trying to run away.â He cooed happily to his daughter as she laughed, large noise cancelling headphones were bouncing around her neck and a bright smile spread on her face as he booped her nose.
âIâm notâthe flight isnât for me.â Jason sighed, not willing to look at Roy fully in the eyes.
Royâs eyes widened as he heard the admission. A small silence lingered.
Lian broke the pause by reaching out for Jason. She made small grabby hands before he immediately gave in to grab her underneath her arms, settling on his chest.
She whispered a small âJayJayâ before laying her head down, exhausted from an hour of playing while Roy and Jason were busy racing in the practice sessions.
While Jason patted Lianâs back soothingly, Roy watched as the two most important people in his life were embracing. It brought a smile to his face.
âIâm happy for you, Jaybird.â
It was all that was said between the two as Lian closed her eyes, but Jason felt content. He was given support.
â
âIâm never afraid of the track, itâs the fastest you can ever be on the ground and I wanna be the best.â Jason spoke to the interviewer on your TV screen, the Australian sun surrounding his face.
âHow important is this race for you?â The off-screen voice asked Jason.
âEvery race is important. Iâve gotten RedBull multiple wins these past couple years and I want to add another one. I feel better than Iâve ever have.â
You sat on your couch, dinner in your lap, watching your partner on screen wave goodbye, giving one final dazzling smile while taking off to his car.
He looked like he was in his element, a kind of happiness that only sprouted in him from Formula 1. A kind of motivation used for racing.
âWelcome to another race of the Formula One World Championship. What a great weekend to continue a new season.â The introduction boomed from your TV, setting up the Sunday excitement, ready to end another race weekend.
Ding. Ding. Your phone notifications rung next to you as you took a bite of your dinner.
You: I told you to hold a peace sign to the camera, now you owe me dinner
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: *thumbs down your message*
You laugh at your phone screen.
You: Loser
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: *thumbs down your message*
You: Send me a picture of you in your gear
As you wait for the reply, your TV catches your attention. A driver youâve never seen before now standing in front of the microphone.
âTodd? How is that guy a threat? He just hides behind the RedBull emblem, but heâs nothing but another racer.â The raspy voice sent a chill through you.
âJason Todd is a back-to-back four-time World Champion, do you plan on breaking that streak?â The interviewer pressed on.
âHa! Like thatâs hard, did you see how he crashed his vehicle last year? Bet he wouldnât want that happening again, huh?â The manâs voice twisted something in you.
Formula 1 did have itâs competitive moments, but how was someone like this rude man competing?
Ding.
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: please I am more than my body
Despite Jasonâs words, a flattering picture of him came in. A good look at his hands and body in the RedBull uniform. Gosh, you missed him.
You saved the photo with a smile on your face. A new lock screen.
You: donât injure that pretty face of yours <3
âThank you for the interview, good luck on your race.â The interviewer finished up, stepping in front of the camera to replace the rude driver.
You glanced up to get one final look at the screen, watching the rude racer walk away, expecting him to get bombarded with another interviewer and a brand new set of cameras, but he walked in a different direction, away from the crowd.
You were confused at the racer breaking the long chain of interviews happening on race day.
At the very edge of the camera, you could see the racer joining another man, adorned in a suit, turning his head sideways, but you couldnât recognize who that was.
You whipped out your laptop. Maybe you missed an upcoming rookie the last year or there mustâve been a change you missed in the racing industry.
Your mind buzzed remembering the blurry man putting his arm around the rookie racer before your ringtone shouted at you.
Life is a Highway started to play as Jasonâs contact picture brightened on the screen, a nice side view picture of his smiling face when you took him out for dinner.
You quickly picked up.
âHey Jay! Howâs Australia?â You gleefully asked, contrasting glancing back and forth to the TV screen and your laptop before the camera changed to the racetrack, no longer seeing the mysterious men.
âItâs fun when Roy isnât talking his ass off.â Jasonâs voice faded as he yelled at Roy to back off from him. âI gotta race soon, but I just wanted to hear ya before I had to leave. God, I miss you.â
Your breath hitched hearing Jason be so direct. You tried to reason with yourself that it was from the adrenaline before the race, but it made you feel like you were floating off the couch.
âI miss you too. Maybe when you have a chance to get back here, we can go out to eat like we normally do.â You suggested, a little more brightness in your voice.
You watched the compilation of Jasonâs previous races playing on the screen. You saw him zooming down the narrow lanes at horrifying speeds as you heard him softly speak to you through your phone.
âI wanna fly you out here before then. I mean, Iâll be down for Vegas, but thatâs too long. I gotta get you down here next to me.â Jasonâs voice smoothly went in and out of your ears.
Your felt yourself reddening at his delightful words to you.
âIâll see what I can do about work leave, but maybe iâll take a couple sick days?â You spoke to Jason, happiness surging through you. âI would really love to fly out there.â
A loud engine roared through your phone, cutting off Jasonâs voice briefly.
âShit, sorry about that, I gotta go. I loââ Jason hesitated before he was about to end the call, following up by several louder engines revving, overshadowing his voice despite how close he was to the phone. âI, uh, Iâll call you later.â
âStay safe, Jay.â
âWouldnât want it any other way.â
Beep.
The call clicked to end. No longer hearing the bustle around Jason as he was inching closer to his race.
Your heart beat rapidly in your ears as you continued to hold your phone in your hand despite the call ending moments ago.
You canât assume.
There are numerous words that start with that sound. Maybe it was a mistake?
â
âWhat the fuck, Roy?â Jason yelled over Roy revving his engine multiple times. âI was almost doneâwill you stopâRoy!â
Roy lifted his foot, no longer making the obnoxious noise.
âGet your helmet on, we gotta go. If you win, then you can talk on the phone all ya want.â Roy was ready to pull onto the track. âUnless you want to stay on the phone and I can win this for us?â
Roy laughed as he sped off.
Jason sighed in disbelief as he walked back to get make sure the final checks on his car were done.
Roy was the only one who could compete with him on the track, so maybe his words werenât just to instigate him.
He needed to focus because he wanted to see you and win while you were with him.
Jason put on his helmet, getting any last-minute safety precautions checked before he got the signal to drive out.

A Reason to See You.
Kento Nanami x bakergn!reader Tw: none! wc: 512 Madâs Notes: aaaaa idk if I like this or notđđ based on this btwww
Nanami has the same routine everyday. Wake up, go to work, clock out at six, go home, and the cycle continues. But thereâs something he always looks forward to on his daily routine. Entering your bakery.Â
You opened a bakery to fulfill your hobby of baking. You enjoyed baking pastries and watching people enter through the glass doors, admiring the hard work and efforts you put in each of your well made pastries. You had your regulars, and of course one of them was Nanami, who happened to be your favourite. Everyday heâd stop by your shop on the way to or from his workplace, and he never missed a chance to have a small chat with you as you ring up his itemsâmostly just plain bread or a chicken sandwich.
Youâd think he just enjoyed your pastries, thatâs why he enters your shop everyday. Well, that is one reason. Another is that he just wants to have a reason to see you.
âNice to see you again, Nanami,â you said with that lovely smile you always had on your face, but it always seemed different whenever you talked to Nanami.Â
He grunts in response. âNice seeing you too, l/n. I take it that the bakeryâs doing well again today?â He asks, pulling out his leather wallet to pay for his items.Â
You nodded, the smile on your face not fading away. âBy the way, do you like croissants?âÂ
Your sudden question intrigued nanamiâs interest. He raised an eyebrow as he handed you the exact money he owed. âI donât particularly mind them. Why do you ask?â
Your small smile widened slightly as you reached for a small package on the counter behind you. âI tried baking some today for the first time. I havenât sold any, but I wanted to know what your thoughts on them are.â
Nanamiâs face softened slightlyâso slightly that itâs almost unnoticeable, unless you squinted a little. âThank you. I know theyâll be as great as your other pastries,â He said, accepting the bag from your hand, his fingers accidentally brushing over yours slightly.Â
You chuckled and waved your hand dismissively in front of your face, hoping that it would hide the small blush forming on your face. âYou flatter me. It just tastes ordinary to me. I just wanted a regularâs opinion before I start selling these.â
âNonsense, your pastries always tasted amazing, l/n.â He pulled out his wallet once again. âHow much do I owe you for the croissant?â
You shook your head. âConsider it on the house, or a taste sample,â you said with a smile.Â
His eyebrows yet again raised, he sighed. âPlease, let me. Consider it as a tip for all your hard work.â
âI insist, Nanami. Thereâs really no need.âÂ
He let out a small sigh and pocketed his wallet. âThen how about dinner, hm?â
You blinked, trying your best to hide the blush thatâs formed more obviously on your cheeks. With a nod, you replied, âdinner would be amazing.â
Relieved, the smile on Nanamiâs lips widened. âGreat. So⊠this Saturday at seven?â

i donât know if your request are open but i just wanna ask, can you do a headcanon of tom x model!reader. like the readers on vogue or she models for lingerie
ᥣđ© TOM WITH A MODEL GIRLFRIEND
âââââââââââââââ
omg i love this requesttt đ i hope you like it! and sorry for disappearing but school is slowly killing me đ»đ
âââââââââââââââ
oh boy he's OBSESSED with you
always buying your magazines
would hang up posters of you on his wall
loves to attend your catwalks and is the loudest in the crowd for you
he pretty much doesn't pay attention to the other models, he's just waiting for you
he's literally Dylan Sprouse (iykyk, a whole ass green forest)
istg he would look at you like this
he's would uhm...please himself with pictures of you...
LOVES to take you photos
and also likes to exchange photos điykwim (freaky ahh)
let's just say he's very pleased with your body type since you're a model and he's really into curves and stuff like that (idk how to word it but if you've seen some of his interviews you probably understand)
makes sure everyone knows you're his
you have a lot of public appeal so he's both jealous and worried people would go too far
makes sure you don't turn your job into something toxic
LOVES when you model for lingerie, but only when he gets the photos lmfao
he's kind of jealous ofc
likes to surprise and visit you during fittings and photoshoots
obviously you also attend a bunch of his concerts, and he's more than happy to see you in the crowd
always locking eyes and getting nervous/shy to the point he has to look away and focus on his guitar đ€
Bill obviously likes to tease him with: "excuse my brother, he's very busy looking in that particular direction!"
loves when you run backstage into his arms after (especially because you don't care if he's as sweaty as a dog)
I'd say his pda level is a 6-7/10, but if he's a little jealous (doesn't matter the reason) he's a solid 8-9/10
In his eyes you're the goddess of beauty (which you are pookie! đ€đ)
Since he's so obsessed with you, he probably makes sure to please you most in bed
he's not really into dirty talking, but he definitely gives you some words of appreciation like "you're so fucking pretty", "you're perfect", "i'm so lucky", "this is all for me, right?"
Because of tour and different schedules, sometimes you're apart for a long time. But he never misses a chance to call and Skype you whenever he can!
he's so proud that you're his girl
Flirts with you 24/7
He would remind you everyday not to listen to the obsessed fans who give you hate for being his girlfriend
He would do the thumb thingy when holding hands or cuddling
He would flip off the paparazzi if he catches them say something mean to/about you
sometimes he would disapprove of your dresses/clothes if they're too revealing
in conclusion, he's your number 1 fan đ„ł

Um ok guys I wrote something to post??? Iâm scared bc this kinda sucks but Iâve been writing a lot of random stuff for Patrick and I finally feel ok enough about this fic to publish it i guess đđ this is not really proofread or edited much, so yeah đđ
Patrick Zweig x Reader, 1.4k words (Art is also mentioned), and theyâre all around college age.
Childhood best friends, mutual pining, fluff, first kiss/admission of feelings, and all of the things.
TW for drinking/alcohol use
Patrick had been one of your closest friends since kindergarten, and ever since you two had met, you were attached at the hip. Even after Patrick had gone off to Mark Rebelattoâs Tennis Academy, even though you didnât see each other as much, he always made sure to text and surprise you whenever he was home. As you both grew up, you watched Patrick change- he went from the goofy kid with big ears to a tall, and honestly hot guy. And he was well aware of it. Everywhere you went, you saw how he acted- he was so sure of himself, so cocky, and he acted brash and loud. But you knew him better than that.
When it was just the two of you, Patrick was gentle and sweet. He had always been touchy, somehow always managing to go from across the couch to having his arm around you on your movie nights. He was just like that with his friends, totally.
Throughout your friendship, he was always there to protect you; he always kept you close during your parentâs parties, knowing that you didnât like events and social gatherings the way he did. He always guided you everywhere and took over conversations when he could tell that you didnât feel like talking. His hand on your waist, he would guide you through the crowds, always making sure you were close to him. He could see right through you, and somehow in these times he understood exactly what you needed. Ever so often, he would slip his hand into yours and give it a tight squeeze to comfort you. This was just your routine, and you knew that Patrick was the only reason why you still agreed to go to these events.
Patrick had always been there for you. He came home from boarding school just for the weekend to take you to your senior prom, he came over and helped you pack for college, and he never forgot to call. Your relationship with him was so perfect⊠But there was just one problem.
You were in love with your best friend. And you watched him go on dates, sleep with girls, and you knew that he just didnât want you like that. Every time he would pull you close, hold your hand, or cuddle you on the couch, you just had to remember that this was just his personality. He could get any girl he wanted, and you two were just meant to be friends.
You were good at holding your feelings in, terrified of disturbing the perfect relationship you had with Patrick- you couldnât risk losing it all over a crush.
â--
Tonight was just like any other night with Patrick and Art- you were all hanging out in Patrickâs living room, drinking random cocktails Pat had mixed up for you, and watching a movie. The three of you were apart most of the year- you in college on the east coast, Art at Stanford, and Patrick just traveling around playing pro tennis. So every summer, you made sure to hang out at least a couple times all together, usually just getting drunk and talking about everything and nothing.
The three of you were lounging in the living room watching some stupid horror movie that none of you really cared about. You and Patrick were on opposite sides of the couch, and Art was comfy on the armchair next to you guys. As the movie progressed, the three of you got drunker, and you started to feel more hazy- so when Patrick pulled you into his arms, holding you as you two watched the movie, you couldnât help but nuzzle closer into him, melting into his touch. While you two cuddling was nothing new, this was different: it felt a little more sweet and intimate than normal.
You whispered to him, âHey, I missed you while I was at collegeâ, closing your eyes, tired from the drinking.
Patrickâs face turned red when you whispered that, and he looked away. It wasnât fair of you to be sweet like that when he was trying so hard to not lean in and kiss you. You understood Patrick in a way that no one else did, and you were the only person he could be completely vulnerable with. He was different with you than with everyone else, and he loved to care for you. Since late in high school, he had been desperate to tell you that he wanted you, but he couldnât lose you. The commitment was terrifying, and also, Patrick wasnât even sure if you wanted him that way. So, he had carried that with him for years- but he still couldnât help himself from needing you close, and he couldnât stop himself when he cupped your face with his hand, and tilted your head up at him.
âI missed you tooâ, he whispered. It was already hard for him to not confess to you while he was sober, but now that he was tipsy, it felt almost impossible to keep his words from spilling out. You two locked eyes for a moment, and the way he looked at you felt almost unreal. He looked at you like you were some sort of angel, his eyes filled with an adoration and sweetness that was so unlike the Patrick Zweig you were familiar with.
After a moment, he looked away, his face turning slightly red. Feeling bold, you nuzzled your face back into the crook of his neck, just wanting to be closer. You knew that you would regret being this obvious in the morning- he was just drunk, he probably didnât actually love you- but you couldnât help yourself. He held you tighter in his arms as the movie played, and the night got later.
At this point, Art had fallen asleep on the armchair- and as soon as he opened his eyes, he smiled and announced that he was going to bed- this movie sucked anyways. He looked at you and Patrick curled into each other, and he didnât even seem surprised- he knew how much Patrick liked you, even if Patrick tried to hide it. So, he went upstairs, leaving the two of you on the couch. You both were silent for a couple minutes, unsure if you should say anything. Patrick pretended to be into the movie, but all he could think about was you in his arms.
He whispered your name, looking into your eyes as you glanced up at him. You saw him glance down at your lips and then staring back up at you, and he looked more nervous than you had ever seen him. His hand cupped your face gently, as he whispered, âis this ok?â. You nodded, holding back a small smile as he leaned in and kissed you.
The kiss felt natural for the two of you- like it was something you had done a million times before. Patrick couldnât help but smile into the kiss, barely believing that he was actually, finally kissing you. Patrick had been dreaming of this moment for years, even though he would never admit it.
He pulled away from your lips gently, pressing small, sweet kisses all over your jaw. You laugh softly as he moves his hands from your face and wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you impossibly closer to him.
You closed your eyes, the lateness of the night sinking in. You felt so relaxed and content as Patrick continued to press soft kisses down your neck.
You both eventually laid down on the couch, Patrickâs arm slung across your waist as you nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck. Your drunkenness took over and the world spun around you, but Patrickâs strong arms around you made you feel held in place. You drifted off to sleep, trying to avoid thinking about what things would be like in the morning- because for now, you were happy.
Patrickâs hand rubbed lazy circles into your back as he held you close to him, and felt his stomach twisting with anxiety and happiness, his heart beating faster as he pulled you tighter. He heard your breathing slow down as you fell asleep against him, and he wished to himself for this moment to never end.
Patrick eventually fell asleep against you, and he held you tight for the rest of the night.

cosmic -> nmixx ver
one month vs one year with them
lily jin morrow | đš
one month: very shy around you! a blushy baby and probably very nervous to do anything because she doesnât wanna overstep any boundaries đÂ
one year: what is a boundary? she wakes you up belting a different song every day BFR sheâs still a little shy but only like when you say something very flirty or something. also BIG on pda like your hands are glued together
oh haewon | đ»ââïž
one month: sheâs almost intimidating yk. i mean she asked you to be her gf and all but itâs like thereâs this small tension between the two of you. because of that you like barely do couple stuff lol especially pda
one year: you low key miss her being a little closed off bc my girl is an oversharer đ good thing about that is that youâre always in on the kpop idols drama lol. pda is a ting too âïžÂ unless she wants to be professional. iâm telling you her work mode in the studio? another level
seol yoona | đ°
one month: sheâs stressing around you đ„Â she just wants everything to be perfect! she thinks you might leave if the beginning of the relationship is rocky :( spoiler alert youâre not going anywhere lol youâre too smitten, sheâs stuck with you.
one year: much more casual about everything! last minute dates are a norm :3 but also sheâs still so caring about the small details cause she wants everything to be perfect for her baby still
bae jinsol | đ„
one month: she tries really hard to be so goofy and so chill đ like masking her being a little nervous about the relationship with humour you know what i mean? but im gonna say sheâs big on public affection since day one đâ only true one letâs be fair
one year: still goofy and chill! just now you can see her true personality. and itâs chaos honestly. but you love her chaos, just like you love her :3 but the amount of times you get in trouble with her manager because of her silly anticsâŠâŠ..
kim jiwoo | đ¶
one month: she tries her best to be chill with you đ«¶Â small steps but she has to get used to having her own personal cheerleader. iâm gonna say you two go on fairly frequent dates but after one month you havenât been introduced to her members yet
one year: so you practically live in the dorm by now. do you sleep on the couch because the unnie line wanted no funny business? yes, absolutely. but you still have your silly gf who sometimes sneaks out in the middle of the night to go cuddle with you on your couch lol
jang kyujin | đ±
one month: youâre more like close friends than partners honestly. you hug a lot and like cuddle but nothing more really. she doesnât wanna rush whatever is blooming between the two of you đ„č but you met her members even before the two of you started dating, so now itâs just a matter of getting them to be chill around you
one year: much to your girlfriendâs dismay, the eldest of the group offers you adoptions papers like twice a week. youâre now part of the family. and if she was cuddly before, now sheâs stuck to your side like a koala. youâre inseparable đ€

here are three things about the baby:
he seems to visibly understand a couple of commonly repeated phrases now (???). I too thought this seemed insane (heâs so little!!!) but the internet seems to think this is not that unusual at his age. when heâs lying down on a flat surface I say âready? ready? ready?â in an excited voice and he starts grinning hugely and lifts his hands up to mine and braces his neck so I can slowly pull him up into a sitting position (we call these baby sit-ups haha). and then the more devastating one is that my mom taught him to âgive a kiss.â youâre either holding him or have him sitting up facing you and you say âowen, owen, can you give me a kiss?â and he opens his mouth wide, leans forward, and puts his mouth very gently against your cheek. he will do this each time you ask him. đđđđđ itâs too much!!!!! I donât actually know how much of it is him recognizing phrases vs. recognizing body language and situations⊠I remember from my reading about dog training that dogs learn to recognize the environment first, then the body language cue/gesture, then the words last of all, so maybe heâs just picking up on repeated situations. but itâs still so amazing to me. like weâre not THAT far from him being able to talk and really understand. I canât wait to hear his little speaking voice wahhhh
he is REALLY into his hands lately and loves watching them move around. before naps or bedtime Iâll cradle him against my chest and sing to him for a long time, and he will lift his little baby hands in front of his face and make them âdanceâ ie do these slow graceful little gestures to the music. heâs also just sooooo mesmerized by music. A gave him a little mandolin concert yesterday and he just stared at her without blinking the whole time she was playing.
itâs so fun to watch him start to problem solve. he is absolutely obsessed with this toy thatâs just a flat sheet of crinkly paper. BUT heâs also obsessed with putting stuff in his mouth right now so he can chomp on it and itâs hard to get a flat sheet of paper into his mouth in a way you can satisfyingly nom nom nom on. so this morning I watched him spend a solid five minutes (an eternity in baby time) experiment with different ways of crumpling up the paper so he could shape it into something he could really sink his teeth into. itâs so funny because heâll work at a problem like this with total focus and then heâll get frustrated and start SHRIEKING and then heâs like no no we must persist this paper isnât going to nom nom nom itself!!! and resumes trying. itâs so relatable ahaha I too often have to take shriek breaks in the middle of projects before I can continue.

reblogging comment review from @zyafics
i said i was gonna read when u edited and now u given me the signal đ«Ą let's see if i'm ready to let go of pretty maybank and rafe <đ3 âŹïž
Some gave you that lookâyou know, the one that said, âOh, sweetie, you again?ââwhile others just shook their heads, probably wondering when you would finally stop playing caretaker and start looking out for yourself.
maniacally scribbling down this sentence into my notes bc i am in love with how it flows?? i have a writer-crush on u bc of the way u string together words so elegantly
Brand new driverâs license, barely knew how to parallel park, and boom, youâre getting woken up at like 2 a.m. because your dadâs been arrested.
don't even know if im gonna to even talk about the story atp but one of my FAVORITE things about ur writing is how u add these little specific details that makes the characters come alive !!!
It wasnât the first time youâd seen him wasted or bruised up, but this time felt different. This time, it hit you that this was gonna be your life now.
why did this line hit me so deep???
Now, sitting in the small, stuffy waiting room of the sheriffâs department, you glance around, feeling a knot of tension tightening in your stomach, the fluorescent lights doing little to help, making everything appear sterile and unforgiving.
love the word fluorescent lights, could never learn how to spell it without google
JJâs next to you, his leg bouncing like heâs got caffeine running through his veins instead of blood. Youâre already annoyed, and it doesnât help that Rafe is sitting on your other side, looking just as pissed off.
THIS IS MAKING ME GIGGLE SO BADLY THE DYNAMIC TRIO
"You wanna talk about sisters too?"
the way i wentâ
JJ nods, fiddling with his shark tooth necklace, the one youâd given him when he was seven.
u mesh so well with canon events đ©·đââïž
You glance at the two men beside you, each representing a different part of your world. Your brother stubs out his cigarette, glancing over at Rafe with an exaggerated sigh. He smirks, but it doesn't reach his eyes.
thought this man was gonna be nice and offer rafe a cigarette but i guess wer're not there yet
Itâs been a month since the nightmare with your dad, and youâve pretty much been living at Rafeâs new place ever since. Sure, youâve got your own house, but it just doesnât feel like home anymore. Rafeâs apartment though? Itâs like your little safe haven now. You donât officially live there, but who are you kidding? Most of your stuff is in his drawers, heâs stocked the bathroom with all your skincare, hair stuff, even a toothbrush. He tried to go all-out, buying you everything, and you kept telling him to stop, but itâs like talking to a wall. You gave up eventually.
so bf of him
âAnyways,â He rolls his eyes, ignoring the way you tried to cut him off, his hand now lightly squeezing your knee, âYou were out there showing off, catching wave after wave. I was so fucking annoyed."
why is this so funny LOLL
âYou know, itâs funny. Back then, I thought you were just this arrogant piece of shit who was always trying too hard to fit in.ââThatâs so sweet.â
im literally gonna miss them sm đ
Wardâs expression turns cold once more, but thereâs a flicker of somethingâmaybe regret, maybe just a reflection of his anger.
FEARRRR
âLetâs go home." You nod, a smile spreading across your face. âYeah, letâs go home.â
such a cute ending <3
FINAL THOUGHTS âą i literally am going to miss them so much, it was such an adventure to read this series (and despite how late it is), and with the new edits, i can just see how much you grown as a writer. it's glorious and im so happy to have been there for the ride! can't wait to read more of ur things and also, how the fuck do u write so fast? i blink and there's 15304 different rafe fics out by you??
THE OTHER SIDE OF PARADISE - rafe cameron (+18) - seven (finale)
request: "a rafe enemies to lovers đ«Ł the reader is jjs sister the whole drama before but then she gets left behind on the ship and rafe ends up comforting her and then yea thatâs all I got you can do whatever else the rest đ" + "def some little smut during the enemies part and a long story"
word count: 6.3k
warnings: last chapter <3
Youâve been to Kildare County Sheriffâs Department way more times than you care to admit
Being the oldest kid in your familyâand somehow the only actual adultâyou lost count of how many times you had to drag your dad out of jail between the ages of sixteen and twenty. It felt like a full-time job.
Then there were the countless times youâd been there for your friends.Â
JJ, for instance, had been taken in more than once for public disturbances. It was almost a given that he'd end up in that shithole whenever there was a party or some kind of trouble brewing. You knew every officer by name, and they knew you too. Some gave you that lookâyou know, the one that said, âOh, sweetie, you again?ââwhile others just shook their heads, probably wondering when you would finally stop playing caretaker and start looking out for yourself.
But you always showed up, no matter what, because thatâs what you did. You took care of your own.
The first time you had to pick up your dad, you were sixteen. Brand new driverâs license, barely knew how to parallel park, and boom, youâre getting woken up at like 2 a.m. because your dadâs been arrested. You were shaking the whole time, gripping the steering wheel like your life depended on it, eyes blurry with tears. It wasnât the first time youâd seen him wasted or bruised up, but this time felt different. This time, it hit you that this was gonna be your life now.
You were stuck.
You remember pulling up to the station, parking all kinds of crooked because your hands wouldnât stop trembling. You ran inside, still half-asleep, and the officer at the desk gave you this sad little smile. âHeâs in the back,â he said, like you didnât already know.
When you saw your dad slumped over, bruised, and barely awake, something inside you just... cracked. He looked up, and for a second, he recognized you. âHey, kiddo,â he mumbled, still drunk, still out of it. Back then, there was still some part of him left, some shred of the man he used to be.
You signed the papers, helped him stumble to the car, and drove home in silence while he passed out in the passenger seat. It was the first of so many nights like that. And you knew it wasnât gonna be the last. When you finally pulled into the driveway, you helped him inside and onto the couch. He mumbled a thank you before passing out, his snores filling the room.
Now, sitting in the small, stuffy waiting room of the sheriffâs department, you glance around, feeling a knot of tension tightening in your stomach, the fluorescent lights doing little to help, making everything appear sterile and unforgiving.
You wish you could be anywhere but here.
JJâs next to you, his leg bouncing like heâs got caffeine running through his veins instead of blood. Youâre already annoyed, and it doesnât help that Rafe is sitting on your other side, looking just as pissed off.
âWill you stop bouncing your leg JJ?â You grit out, already irritated from waiting longer than an hour.
âWhy the fuck did he have to come?â JJ mutters, throwing daggers at Rafe with his eyes.
âJJ, not now.â You put your hand on his arm, trying to keep him from starting something. The last thing you need is another fight.
JJ glares, but his jaw clenches shut. âThis is so messed up,â he grumbles.
âMessed up is leaving your sister alone with your drunk piece of shit father.â
âLike I knew he was there, you dumbass?â JJ shoots back, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
âMaybe stop leaving her alone.â
âOh, here we go,â you mutter, feeling the tension rise again. The last thing you need right now is for these two to start another fight.
Ever since JJ came back to the mainland only to pick you up from Taneyhill, things had beenâŠtense. It was one thing to talk about you and Rafe, it was a completely different thing to see you together.
You know your brother hates every second of it.Â
âOh, but you wanna talk about drunk pieces of shit? How many times did your daddy bail you out?âÂ
Rafeâs eyes narrow, his fists clenching, âHow many times did you make your sister bail you out, huh?â
"You wanna talk about sisters too?"
You shut your eyes, attempting to ignore the way theyâre clawing each otherâs throats out with tainted insults. It was a miracle they're standing in the same room without killing each other, but you can only take so much. Itâs like theyâre about to throw punches, right there in the middle of the sheriffâs office.
"Shut the fuck up Maybank."
âFuck you, Cameron!â JJ snaps, standing up so fast his chair skids backward, âYou think youâre better than us?â
Rafe stands up too, stepping closer to JJ, âBetter than you? Yes.â
âDonât act like youâre doing this for her,â JJ scoffs. âYouâve never helped anyone but yourself, you manipulative asshole.â
âThatâs enough,â you snap, standing up and stepping between them, pushing them apart. Your voice is shaking with frustration. âYou two are going to shut the fuck up or take this shit outside. Itâs nine in the morning. I didnât get a wink of sleep, and Iâm not gonna sit here and hear you two bitch it you.â Â
JJ glares at Rafe over your shoulder. âWe donât need this assholeâs help. We can handle it ourselves.â
Rafe sneers. âHandle it? Like youâve handled everything else?â
Your brother lunges forward, but you push him back, your voice shaking. âSit your ass down or leave, Iâm not going to repeat myself.â
They both just stare at you, their harsh words still hanging in the air of this stuffy room. The tension is almost suffocating, but there's no way youâre letting them keep tearing each other apart. Youâre exhausted, emotionally and physically drained. The last thing you need right now is to play mediator between them⊠again.
Rafe finally sits down, arms crossed, biting his tongueâfor your sake, you know. JJâs sitting too now, still fidgeting like he always does, tapping his fingers against the armrest.
"Look," you say, your voice still firm, "We're here for a reason. Let's just get through this and get out, okay?"
Your brother just grunts, glaring at the wall like itâs personally offended him. Rafe lets out a sigh and gives you the tiniest nod, like a reluctant âfine.â You sit back down, feeling a bit of the weight in your chest ease up. Rafe leans in and gently takes your hand, mouthing, "Iâm sorry." You give it a little squeezeâapology accepted, for now.
JJ notices but looks away too quickly for you to read him. You know heâs pissed, but at least for the moment, heâs staying quiet.
The minutes crawl by, each one feeling like forever, and finally, a cop shows up at the door, calling your name. The three of you stand up at the same time, and Rafe and JJ follow behind you, silent but close, as you walk down the hallway.
The clanging of barred doors shutting behind you makes your stomach twist, and you eventually end up in a small interrogation room. The officer gestures to a chair, "Take a seat." He heads off to get paperwork, and you glance at Rafe, whoâs watching you like heâs afraid you might disappear. You know he wonât relax until your dad is completely out of the picture.
Your brother, on the other hand, leans against the wall with crossed arms, a brooding expression on his face. He's always been protective, even if his way of showing it often led to clashes with others. You wish things could be different.
Officer Malcom comes back with a stack of papers, but before you can even look at them, Rafeâs lawyer, Mr. Johnson, walks in. Rafe's had him on speed dial since the whole mess started, and honestly, he's been a lifesaver. He sits beside you, reviewing the papers calmly, and just having him there makes everything feel a little less scary.
âAlright, folks, let's go through this step by step. The first form here is the petition for a temporary restraining order. It outlines the incidents and reasons for seeking protection.â
âAre these incidents documented with the sherrifâs office?â Mr. Johnson's expertise is evident in the way he examines the document meticulously.
âYes, sir. We have reports dating back toâ" Officer Malcom stops for a second, checking the data, âAbout eight years ago, give or take.â
Rafeâs head snaps in your direction, brows furrowed, clearly pissed off that this has been going on for that long without anyone doing anything. You try to ignore it, focusing on the papers in front of you instead.
âWhat happens after I file this?
âOnce filed, a judge will review the petition. If approved, a temporary restraining order will be issued, usually effective immediately. Then, there'll be a hearing within a few weeks to determine if a permanent order is necessary.â
âWhat if he doesn't abide by the temporary order?âÂ
The officer only nods sympathetically. âViolating a restraining order is a criminal offense. He could face fines, jail time, or both.â
Rafeâs still looking at you, âDoes she have to serve him personally with these papers?â
âItâs crucial that heâs officially notified. We handle that part, though.â
Rafeâs lawyer is taking notes when he speaks up again, âIf he contests the order, heâll have the opportunity to present his side at the hearing. Both parties can bring witnesses or evidence. But based on your fatherâs behavior, thatâs unlikely.â
You hope to God he doesnât. The thought of seeing him again makes you feel like you might throw up. You take a deep breath, hands itching to twirl a piece of your hair.
âHow long does the process usually take?â
You feel a hand touch your shoulder, gently tightening the grip around the skin, you donât have to look back to know itâs Rafe. By now you know the lines and the ridges of his hands as if they are your own.
"The timeline can vary, but typically, from filing to the hearing, it might take a few weeks. It depends on the court's schedule and any potential delays."
You nod, absorbing the information while trying to steady your breathing. None of this feels real. Not the legal stuff, not the fact that this could actually be over soon. As the conversation continues, Mr. Johnson outlines the next steps clearly, discussing what will happen during and after the hearing.Â
The officer quickly gathers the papers in his hands, âIâll get everything started then. Just a moment.â
As he leaves to process the paperwork, a brief silence settles over the room. You exchange glances with JJ and Rafe, both of them entirely too interested of the concrete floor.Â
âThis is the right thing to do, right?â
You know it is. Youâve known for years, but itâs still hard to understand how it came to this. Your life couldâve been so different.Â
JJ nods, fiddling with his shark tooth necklace, the one youâd given him when he was seven. âYeah. He shouldnât be able to just...â He trails off shaking his head.
Rafe squeezes your shoulder once more, then lowers himself to your level and plants a quick peck on your temple, âYouâve got this. Itâll be okay.â
Mr. Johnson finally puts his pen away, turning to you, âIâll stay on top of the filings and keep you updated on any developments.â
This moment is a culmination of years of struggle. It's daunting, but youâre not alone.Â
 "Thank you.â
JJ shifts his weight, his agitation visible. "I hate this," he mutters.Â
"I know," you reply, not knowing what else to say.
The door swings open again, and Officer Malcom re-enters, holding a stack of papers. "Alright," he says, handing you a pen. "Just sign here, and we'll get this process started."
You take the pen with shaky hands, knowing thereâs no going back after this. As you sign your name, you can't help but sigh in relief.
This is a step towards freedom.
Rafe watches you intently, his eyes full of concern. He reaches out, placing a hand on your back, a little reminder that he's here for you. JJ stands close by, his protective instincts on high alert.
After you finish signing, Officer Malcom takes the papers and gives you a reassuring nod. "We'll take care of the rest. You should hear from us soon about the next steps."
You stand up, feeling a little lighter, but the emotional toll of the day still kicks your ass. As you make your way out of the room, Rafe keeps a steady hand on your back, guiding you.
Once outside, the morning sun feels almost blinding after the harsh fluorescent lights of the station. JJ immediately lights a cigarette, taking a long drag and exhaling with a sigh.Â
Rafe looks at you, his expression softening. "You're good?"
You nod, managing a small smile. "Yeah, I think so. Thank you for being here, both of you."
JJ smirks, though there's a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Where else would I be?â
You glance at the two men beside you, each representing a different part of your world. Your brother stubs out his cigarette, glancing over at Rafe with an exaggerated sigh. He smirks, but it doesn't reach his eyes.
âGotta admit, I never thought I'd see the day when 'Rafe the Retch' would be helping us out.â
A laugh escapes your lips before you can stop it, but you quickly cover it up, turning it into a cough. Youâd forgotten about that one.
Rafeâs eyebrows shoot up. â'Rafe the Retch'? Seriously, what the fuck?â
âAsk her,â JJ nods in your direction.
âYou called me that shit?â
You bite your lip, âTo be fair, I called you worse things.â
Rfe tilts his head, hands on his hips, âLike what?â
âYou donât want to know.â
The three of you start walking toward the parking lot, as you reach the cars, JJ pulls you into a quick, tight hug. âWeâre gonna get through this,â he murmurs, his voice filled with determination.Â
You hug him back, âI know, Jay.â
Rafe stands a few feet away, watching the exchange with a thoughtful expression. When your brother finally lets you go, he steps closer, âReady to go?â
JJ looks at you, the concern in his eyes clear. "I gotta head to work. Do you want a ride home? It's on the way.â
You glance at Rafe, then back at JJ, sensing his reluctance. âNo but thank you.â
JJâs shoulders tense, but he nods, trying to hide his disappointment. "Alright. Just... call me if you need anything, okay?"
You smile, appreciating his concern. "I will. Drive safe."
He nods again, glancing one more time at Rafe before getting into his truck and driving off. You watch him go, knowing that things are still far from being okay between the two of you.
You know heâs never going to change his opinion about Rafe, maybe not until he witnesses the changes in him, but you hope that one day theyâll find some common ground. Itâs a lot to ask from your brother, you know that, and itâs why you never push him.Â
âYou sure youâre doing okay?â
You nod, leaning into Rafe now that he stands behind you, âYeah, just a little tired.â
He wraps an arm around your shoulders, guiding you towards his car, âDid you get any sleep last night?â
"Barely," you admit. "Just couldn't stop thinking about today.â
He unlocks the car, opening the passenger door for you. "Well, now that it's done, you can rest. Iâll even put that bullshit show you like.â
You gasp ready to punch him in the shoulder, but by the time you turn heâs already on the other side of the car, âLove Island is not a stupid show!â
He chuckles as he starts the engine. "If you say so.â
âYou watch it too.â
âOnly because you force me to,â Rafe counters, a playful glint in his eyes.
As he pulls out of the parking lot, his hand slides over to grab yours. Itâs such a simple thing, but it makes the tight feeling in your chest ease a little. Youâre both quiet for most of the drive, but itâs not awkward or anything. Itâs actually kind of nice. You never imagined heâd be so...attached. Things between you are still...somewhat undefined, but it definitely feels like a relationship. That thought is pushed to the back of your mind for now. It's just not the right moment to talk about itânot with his fatherâs trial only weeks away and your own dad still recovering in the hospital.
When you pull up to his apartment, the building feels familiar in a way that makes your stomach flip. He hops out of the car and, as usual, rushes around to open your door for you. Itâs such a small thing, but it always makes your heart race.
Once inside, the place feels so different from the craziness of the day. Itâs cozy, warm, and just... safe. You kick off your shoes and flop onto the couch, sinking into the cushions.
âWanna watch your show?â Rafe asks, giving you that half-smile youâve come to love.
You chuckle, feeling lighter than you have all day. âAnd you say you donât love it.â
He grabs the remote and turns on the TV, navigating to the show. As the familiar theme song starts playing, you snuggle closer to him, finding comfort in the routine. It's all trashy drama and ridiculous contestants, but itâs the distraction you desperately need. Rafeâs arm stays around you, like always. But as the episode progresses, your eyelids grow heavy. The events of the day, combined with the sleepless night, catch up to you. You feel yourself drifting off, your head resting against Rafeâs chest, his heartbeat a steady rhythm lulling you to sleep.
âRest, baby,â he murmurs, his voice a soothing whisper. âIâve got you.â
Next thing you know, you wake up to the smell of something cooking. Blinking your eyes open, you realize Rafeâs in the kitchen, and the living room is dimly lit. A blanket slips off your shoulders as you sit up, and when you look over, heâs already smiling at you.
Youâve seen him smile more times over the past month than all the years you had âknownâ him combined. It looks good on him, makes him look younger.Â
Stretching, you ask, âWhatâs all this?â
âDinner. Figured you could use a good meal,â he says casually, like itâs no big deal that heâs cooked for you.
You sneak up behind him and wrap your arms around his waist. âLook at you, Chef Rafe.â
Ever since he moved in on his own, heâs been slowly learning how to take care of himself. Youâve caught him watching cooking and deep cleaning videos more times you can count. You find it endearing. It makes your chest ache, in a good way, to watch him slowly turn into his own person, not the Rafe his father shaped him to be.
He chuckles, giving you a quick forehead kiss. âEat before it gets cold.â
You sit down, and the first bite has you practically moaning. He snorts at your reaction, but you can tell heâs proud of himself. As you eat, though, you notice he seems a little off. His shoulders are tight, and thereâs something in his eyes that makes you pause. You reach across the table, placing your hand over his.
"What is it?â
âNothing.â
âRafe. Whatâs wrong?â
He hesitates, then sighs. âGot a call from my lawyer. About Ward.â
The mention of his dad sends a chill down your spine. âWhat about him?â
Rafeâs thumb brushes your knuckles as he looks down. âHe wants to talk.â
âDo you want to talk to him?â
Rafe's jaw tightens, and he lets out a slow breath. âYeah. But every time Iâve tried to stand up to him, itâs backfired."
You squeeze his hand, âHe canât hurt you anymore, you know that, right? You're not the same person you were before," you remind him gently. "You've grown so much, Rafe. Youâve made your own life."
He looks up at you, his gaze softening. The intensity in his eyes is clearâvulnerability, determination, and a deep-seated fear. It's as if heâs silently pleading for your reassurance, for the strength to face his demons.
âYou think so?â
It's in the way his eyes become softer when they meet yours, the slight quiver in his lips, the way he holds your hand just a little tighter.
âWouldnât be here if I didnât.â
âOkay. IâŠIâll think about it.â
The two of you finish dinner, the conversation shifting to lighter topic. After cleaning up, you find yourselves back on the couch, the TV playing quietly in the background.Â
Everything feels so domestic it pulls at your heartstrings. And it hits you how much you love this, just being here with him.
But you can still feel the tension rolling off him. You turn to him, tracing little patterns on his chest. âYouâre still worried, huh?â
He sighs, throwing his head against the cushions, his hand coming up to rest on yours. "Yeah. Iâm scared talking to him will pull me back into that dark place.â
You press a kiss to his clothed chest. âYou wonât go back there. Not while Iâm here.â
He tightens his hold on you, âYou know youâre too good for this world. Itâs ridiculous.â
You narrow your eyes, âAm not.â
âYeah, you are, Pretty Maybank.â
There it is. That nickname. âYou know thatâs so stupid, right?â
He grins, completely unbothered. âYou love it.â
You nudge him with your elbow. âI tolerate it.â
He catches your hand, bringing it to his lips for a soft kiss. âFits you perfectly.â
You roll your eyes, but you canât help the grin tugging at your lips.
âIf you say so.â
His eyes soften as he looks at you, his thumb tracing gentle circles on your hand. âI do.â
âShup up,â You feel a blush creeping up your cheeks. âDonât even know how you came up with that shit.â
Rafe laughs, the sound low and rumbling, his hand moving to rub your leg. âItâs really stupid.â
You raise an eyebrow, teasing. ââCourse it is.â
âRemember when we were fourteen, and we were both at the beach for that huge surf competition? You were this cocky, skilled little girl with an ego bigger than the waves.â
âAnd you were a suck-up motherâ"
âAnyways,â He rolls his eyes, ignoring the way you tried to cut him off, his hand now lightly squeezing your knee, âYou were out there showing off, catching wave after wave. I was so fucking annoyed."
You raise an eyebrow, giving him a skeptical look. âOh, so you were secretly in awe of me?â
âMaybe,â he admits with a sheepish grin. âOr maybe I was just bitter because you made me look bad.â
âI made everyone look bad.â
âOkay, Gabriel Medina. You were out there showing off, making everyone watch you like you owned the ocean. All the boys were ogling you, calling you pretty, and you were loving every second of it.â
You smirk, remembering the day. "I was pretty good, wasnât I?â
âGood?â He snorts, shaking his head as his fingers trail up and down your thigh. âYou were more than good, you were unreal.â
"Yeah, yeah, so how does that tie into the nickname?â
âYou came out of the water, hair all messy, sand on your skin, but you had this huge smile. One of the boys called you 'Pretty Maybank,' and you just laughed, brushing it off. But Iâ I guess I remembered it. It fit you.â
You blink, momentarily thrown off, "I...I didnât know you remembered that."
âYouâre kinda hard to forget Maybank.â
Your heart flutters at his words, the sincerity in his voice making it hard to breathe, âShut up.â
He leans in, capturing your lips in a gentle kiss, his hand cradling the back of your head. It only lasts a few seconds, before youâre pulling away, mumbling against his lips.
âYou know, itâs funny. Back then, I thought you were just this arrogant piece of shit who was always trying too hard to fit in.â
âThatâs so sweet.â
You cup his face, brushing your thumbs across his cheeks, âHmm. You were always showing off, too.â
âWell,â he drawls, pulling you a little closer, his arms wrapping around your waist, âWe both grew out of that phase. Mostly.â
âMostly,â you agree with a grin. âBut I guess some things never change.â
âYeah,â He doesn't take his eyes off your face, âSome things donât change.Â
Thereâs a brief silence, filled with the quiet sound of the TV and the comfortable presence of each other. His fingers continue to trace patterns on your hand, and you can feel his earlier stress easing if only a little.
âI donât want to mess this up,â He admits quietly, âWith you.â
âWeâve come this far, havenât we?â
Rafeâs fingers gently brush a strand of hair behind your ear, âYeah, we have.â
âIâll keep you in check, Cameron.â
He holds you tighter, his breath mingling with yours. âYou're too good for me, yâknow that?â
You laugh, âI know.â
Before you can react, his fingers are dancing across your sides, tickling you mercilessly. You squeal, wriggling and trying to escape his grasp, but heâs relentless.
"Rafe!â You gasp between fits of laughter.
"Say sorry,â he demands, his fingers still working their magic.
"Never!" you manage to choke out, tears of laughter streaming down your face.
He grins wickedly, the movement driving your tummy insane.
"Wrong answer."
You squirm in his grip, the tickling intensifying. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry!" you finally relent, breathless and giggling.
Rafe stops, his hands coming to rest on your waist. His grin is triumphant, but there's a softness in his eyes that makes your heart skip a beat. "That's what I thought," he muses, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to your forehead.
You catch your breath, still smiling. "You know, for someone who's supposed to be a tough guy, youâre surprisingly good at this domestic stuff."
He chuckles, pulling you closer until you're nestled against him.
"What can I say? You bring out the best in me, Pretty Maybank."
"I like this," you admit softly. "Being here with you, just... us."
"Me too," Rafe murmurs, his hand gently stroking your hair. "Feels right, doesn't it?"
"Yeah, it does.â
ââ·àłââ·àłââ·àłââ·ââ·àłââ·àłââ·àłââ·ââ·àłââ·àłââ·àłââ·ââ·àł
Three weeks later, Rafe finally agrees to visit Ward in prison.
His lawyer arranged the meeting, emphasizing the importance of having this conversation to find closure. Despite your protests, Rafe insisted on doing this alone. Plus, prison's security measures are stringent, and thereâs no way you could accompany him inside.
Instead, youâre stuck waiting outside, the anxiety killing you slowly. You're sitting on a bench outside the high-security prison, your foot tapping nervously against the ground.
The sun is blazing, making the wait even more unbearable. You wish you could be in there with him, supporting him. You glance at the ugly building, feeling desperate to get the hell away. Your phone buzzes, snapping you out of your thoughts. Itâs a text from JJ.
"how's it going?"
You quickly type back.
"he just went in. kinda losing my mind out here."
"heâll be okay. devil spawn and all yk".
"not helping???"
"my bad sis, just trying to lighten the mood. seriously though, he's got this."
You sigh, putting your phone down and glancing around the barren surroundings. The high walls and barbed wire of the prison seem to loom even larger now. Time drags on, every minute feels like an hour. You find yourself looking at the entrance every few seconds, hoping to see Rafe walk out.
Inside, Rafe is led through a maze of corridors, the echo of his footsteps bouncing off the cold concrete walls. The guards are stoic, their faces expressionless as they guide him to the visitation room. His heart pounds in his chest, but he forces himself to stay calm, to stay focused. He's going to be just fine.
When he finally walks in the room, he sees Ward already seated, the older man looking surprisingly composed. Of course he'd care about his appearance even when he's locked up. There's a glass partition between them, with phones on either side for communication. Rafe sits down, picking up the phone with a shaky hand. He wishes you were here.Â
Ward's eyes are piercing as they lock onto Rafe's. "Look who finally decided to visit," he says, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "Took you time, boy."
Rafe takes a deep breath. This is it.
"Only came to tell you something."
Ward raises an eyebrow, leaning back in his chair. "Oh? And what's that? That youâre an ungrateful piece of shit?â
Ignore him, your voice echoes in his head. He knew Ward was going to try to get a rise out of him and he hates that it might work.
"I'm done," Rafe says, his voice steady. "You don't control me anymore."
âAfter everything I've done for you?"
Rafe's grip on the phone tightens. "You didn't do shit for me. You did it for yourself."
Ward leans forward, his eyes narrowing. "You have no idea what you're talking about, boy. You need me."
"No, I don't," Rafe retorts, âNo one needs you.â
Ward's eyes flash with anger, but he quickly masks it with a calculating smile. "Is that what you really think, son? That you can just walk away from everything? From me?"
Rafe feels a rush of anger fighting it's way up his throat, but he holds it back, remembering your words. He takes another breath, steadying himself, âI donât care.â
Ward's smile fades, replaced by a sneer. "You think you're so strong now, don't you? Do you think you can survive out there without my influence? The world is a cruel place, Rafe. You won't last a day. You think that Maybank trash is gonna solve all your problems, huh?â
âYouâre not getting under my skin.â
Ward's eyes narrow further, and he leans in closer to the glass, his voice dropping to a whisper. "So, itâs about her now, is it? What makes you think sheâll be any better for you than I was? She doesnât know you like I do."
Rafeâs temper flares, but he forces himself to stay calm. He canât take the bait.
"Keep her out of this.â
âYou think youâre so righteous, so superior. Youâll need more than just some girl to get you through.â
âI donât need you,â Rafe insists, his voice firm. âI never did.âÂ
Wardâs expression turns cold once more, but thereâs a flicker of somethingâmaybe regret, maybe just a reflection of his anger. âYou can pretend youâre free, but you know Iâm not so easily forgotten.â
Rafe takes a deep breath, forcing himself to stay composed. âI donât need to hear anything else from you. Iâm done.â
âYou wonât be able to keep her safe.â
He knew the conversation wouldnât be longer than five minutes.
He stands up abruptly, the phone clattering against the partition as he drops it. He doesn't need to hear Ward any more. He turns his back on his father and walks out of the room, the door clanging shut behind him. As he walks back through the maze of corridors, his thoughts turn to you, knowing youâre outside overthinking and ready to hug the live out of him.Â
Heâs striding to you the moment he sees you. You're still on the bench, trying to distract yourself with your phone, but itâs no use. You jump up, rushing over to him. Youâre always so endearing to him it pains him to know he hurt you so badly over the years.
âYou okay?â
Rafeâs arms wrap around you, finally breathing normally. His breath is warm against your ear as he whispers, âYeah. Iâm okay.â
You wrap your arms around him, holding him close as if you can protect him from the Wardâs harshness. âI was going crazy waiting out here.â
âSorry for making you wait,â Rafe murmurs, his voice muffled against your shoulder.Â
âI donât care,â You pull back slightly, your hands moving to cup his face. Your fingers trace the lines of his jaw, feeling the faint stubble beneath your touch, âYou did what you needed to do. And Iâm proud of you.â
He smiles a small, tired smile that doesnât reach his eyes, âNeeded to hear that. Thank you.â
You nod, your thumb brushing against his cheek. âFor what?â you ask, leaning into him again. âYou did great, baby. You stood up to him. That takes so much strength.â
You take his hand, your fingers intertwining with his as you lead him away from the prison. His grip is strong, his palm warm against yours. The two of you walk in silence for a moment, the only sound the gravel crunching beneath your feet. You glance at him, noting the way his shoulders have relaxed a litte.
âI felt it. Like a weight lifting off me. Itâs not completely gone, but itâs lighter.â
You stop walking, turning to face him fully. Your free hand reaches up to brush a strand of hair from his forehead. It had grown so much over the past few weeks. âAnd itâll keep getting lighter,â you assure him.Â
âYou think?â
âI know. Youâll keep needing to stand up to him,â you acknowledge, âBut it will get easier each time.â
His hand brushes a stray hair from your face, copying your earlier movement. âAnd youâll be here with me?â
âAlways.â
Rafeâs expression softens, the hard edges smoothed away by the promise in your words. He leans in, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
His lips linger there.
âYou really are too good for me,â he murmurs against your skin, the sound blending with the hum of the car engines in the distance.
âI know.â
He pulls back slightly, his eyes searching yours. The intensity in his gaze takes your breath away, but itâs a different kind of intensity than youâre used to seeing in him. Itâs softer, more open, and entirely focused on you.
âLetâs go home."
You nod, a smile spreading across your face. âYeah, letâs go home.â

Uwah gonna cry. And then you've got daemon seeing rhaegar die in aemon's place and that mixing in with his canon death broooooo that's a lot. Daemon scaring and hurting rhaegar đđđđ dude ik he's thinking about aerys rnđđđđđ and poor caraxes something is messing with their rider and interfering with their bond but he cannot do anything about itttttđđđ
There was so much cute moments at the start of the chap with jon and rhaegar playing detectives and debriefing and then rhaegar excitedly sharing his dragon discoveries with their dad and their dad reading to them in HV (and then translating after for jon cute) ik he was relishing being able to have a story time with his kidsđ„șđ„șđ„ș
Anyways this chapter made me feel a lot. This is all so very convoluted I hope it makes sense rnwjsjw I just love it sm
This chapter sure was A Lotâąïž, wasn't it? I made sure to throw in the sweet moments at the start to offset (enhance?) some of those punches later.
The Rhea feels honestly caught me by surprise when I was writing the Jon+Viserys scene. They sort of just--bubbled up to the surface. Jon's been trying to suppress Jon Redfort's emotions/memories for a while now, and it's hard when so many frightening/painful/awful things have happened to both of them. And Jon is particularly attuned to a child being treated differently/poorly by a mother figure, except he's on the other end of it this time, so there's that added complexity of seeing himself in Raymar, both the loved and the unloved, that he has to deal with.
(Also my heart was breaking in two for little Raymar, who wanted so desperately to love and be loved by Rhea in return. It's not that she didn't, it's that it was much more difficult for her, and when you're a twin, that inequality is so incredibly obvious. It hurts and they had no Ned to give them at least one source of parental affection.)
And then the rest of the breakfast scene...I think Viserys kept going back and forth between seeing Baelon and Daemon in Jon, though more of Baelon in the end, with Jon laying it out so adamantly what his duty as a brother was. And of course we got the inevitable Viserys-Daemon friction in those moments when Jon most reminded him of Daemon. It's a shame that Jon's tough love isn't really what Viserys needs to mend things with Daemon, because the problem isn't that Viserys doesn't love Daemon (though him not protecting his own brother, especially where Otto's insinuations are concerned, is certainly a flaw), it's that he's shit at expressing it and reluctant to trust Daemon enough to explain things.
(It's hard to explain in narrative format where Jon was sitting/where Daemon always sits, but it's basically at the end/"head" of the table, while Viserys usually sits at the end of the side facing the window. And that detail killed me a little when I realized it, because that's where I've always written Daemon sitting in his scenes there with Viserys, and it's so obvious why. Viserys seats him in an inverted version of that during their supper the first night in King's Landing, with Viserys at the head and Daemon to his side. It's the closest Daemon can get to being his brother's Hand.)
...I'm realizing as I'm writing this that I should probably be throwing this in the DVD commentary, but oh well, I can copy-pasta it there later.
I've been calling the Daemon-trance scene a low-grade horror scene for Rhaegar, because imagine that from his POV, especially given his history with Aerys. He's operating at maximum Aerys-mode for a while, reading Daemon at speeds enviable by modern CPUs so that he can figure out how to defuse the situation / "fix" him before any (unintentional) harm is done. And the parallels with Aerys's paranoia is incredibly uncomfortable, even if he understands that Daemon is suffering under an outside influence.
Meanwhile, Caraxes is all: GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF HIM, wishing he could pick Daemon up and cuddle him until the sorcerer scent is completely gone. (He's had to deal with his own version of that before, of having his bond with Daemon tampered with, and it's even more upsetting from the other side!)
And you made perfect sense! There was just so much to process.

If you're having trouble with the hebrew writing systems, here is a very good chart to use:
Some quick tips:
Learning the cursive script is daunting, but it's so much easier to use, I think.
Use both writing systems, though! Writing is a great way to understand letters and how they are placed and used in a practical sense.
#hebrew#hebrew writing#hebrew resources#b'h my teacher is so kind and he gave this chart to me <3đ#i don't care that everything is electronic anymore. writing by hand is a different experience#i love hebrew so much guys the more people who pick it up - who read it and write it and speak it - the more content my soul is

No okay so I could like POP OFF about all the little things that could be written off as quirks or just particularities if there was only one or two but when compounded together made me go OH. He's just like me fr đ (I am so sorry OP for hijacking your Autistic Hassian post bc you are so right and I could make a whole long ass post like this about him too. But I feel the need to spread the Hodari is also autstic and heres why propoganda)
-Food pickiness. He's sooo particular about what he eats, how its flavored, and even what he's willing to cook it on. Only spices from his hometown, only on a specific type of grill "no shortcuts", NO fish, same meals over and over again. There's also the underlying trend that undiagnosed adult men tend to lean towards that 'steak and potatoes' type food as a comfort food and while other characters will switch up the kind of food they want (change different entree type foods from soups to fish or sweets. Badruu, Chayne, and Ashura do this) Hodari almost always only will request steak dinner(or grilled meat i forget which lol) or sernuk stew. The food he'll gift you if you stop by at night for some "midnight meat" is also the steak. Man knows what he likes to eat and that's ALL he eats lol. (I also think its cute that he shows genuine concern if you tell him you don't eat breakfast and he forces you to take food and its just an egg lmaooo)
-He DOES find the town overwhelming. He tells the player he stopped coming in the evening and instead comes for lunch because its not busy and people wont talk to him. Even tells the player to leave him alone if they want to chat but if they want to eat lunch in silence with him they can pull up a chair. Kenyatta makes a comment about how "the miner and his daughter don't come into town much" and they don't talk a lot, assuming their house to always be silent. (lol. lmao even) He also only goes to the markets for Najuma. He doesn't like the noise and complains about the fireworks being "shot off every five minutes". While it is revealed by Najuma that he begrudgingly does enjoy coming, it's heavily implied that if left to his own devices he wouldn't be there. So sound and lots of people stress him tf out and he always seems significantly more 'gruff' during social situations like the market (swearing more "whole damn place smells like it"/kinda angry and screaming of sensory overload) or during town parties where he expresses discomfort than when talking to him when its just him
-Piggybacking off that, he NEEDS his alone time. He enjoys being down in the mines by himself where its just him and "the swing of the pickaxe. Nothing else matters". He also places really firm boundaries with the player if its too late and during his alone time that may come off as overly blunt or rude. "If you're here to talk to Najuma, go home it's past her bed time. If you're here to talk to me, don't". A valid boundary but can come across as a little harsh lol. especially in a game where most characters don't mind when you talk to them late at night or only have mild remarks of the time.
-Going off that, his social awkwardness. Not super apparent immediately when we first meet him because we can write it off as he's busy (he is lol) and we are new. However pretty quickly it appears he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder compared to the other villagers (except Hassian lol) even though his character profile in the beginning tells you he seems like a nice neighbor who is "always willing to lend a helping hand". And while his direct words to the player seem to contradict that, the other villagers talk very friendly about him even though it becomes apparent he doesn't treat or talk about them any different than he does the player. He's just 'like that' and they love him all the same. He also only considers Zeki a friend but from talking with the other npcs we know he has drinking contests with Sifuu, plays cards (and wins) with Ashura, and Badruu loves to tell him jokes to try and get him to laugh (and holds it as a personal point of pride when he finally does lol) and they all consider him a friend. He struggles to emotionally connect to his daughter even though we see its not through a lack of willingness or trying. He's a very good dad but there's a large emotional gap that neither of them seem to be able to cross even though they're both trying. And this is all BEFORE you romance him. If you romance him the awkwardness gets SO much clearer. He takes your gift but doesn't immediately accept or reject it bc he's overwhelmed and put into a situation he wasn't expecting and doesn't have an appropriate reaction set aside to use in that moment (The masking falls). He has to seek the player out later to explain he's not rejecting them but is clearly very uncomfortable the whole time. He struggles A LOT with emotional intimacy and has to give himself little pep talks, out loud, when talking with the player. He fears the closeness and refuses to put a label on anything "you do what you want to do and I'll do what I want". Once he's comfortable however, he IMMEDIATLEY switches to a pet name (as opposed to other characters like Reth or Jel who were comfortable using pet names before ever romancing them) and tries to win your affection. He bakes you a heart shaped quiche and takes you on a "date" (where its quiet, private, and not around other people. And not in a we need to hide way but in a 'see all of town is overwhelming bullet point' way) where he was so excited to see the player he forgets the food. He gets so in his head and awkward that his daughter has to interfere SEVERAL times throughout the course of the relationship. He gets fixated on small details and creates 20 (i think? A lot at least lol) pins.
-Rigid schedule. Okay so bc its a video game all the npcs have a set time they go to places and do xyz things so that cant inherently be used BUT Hodari is one of the only ones who's schedule is talked about. He goes to town for lunch every. day. even though he loves to cook and complains how much he hates the walk into town (Najuma also tells us he hates going into town for things). There are comments of the time he wakes up, and how Najuma even shudders at the idea of having to wake him up if he slept in accidentally even though he doesn't go to work in the mines during the mornings and has a few hours before he even goes to the workshop showing this is a very self imposed and relied upon schedule that throws him off really bad if its not kept to.
okay i could probably keep going but this is already really long and I feel bad enough I hijacked the post a bit lol
Was playing Palia, and as I was flirting with Hassian, I came to the headcanon that he is Autistic
