I'm curious, how does the Cinderpelt/heart thing work in this AU? Bc Cinderpelt seems very happy to me /pos! And may I offer up something... (Totally disregard if I'm over stepping!!) Ivy and Dove being Sand and Cinder's kits instead of Whitewing? (Don't get me wrong I love Whitewing but I can see Ivy being pulled by her Great Aunt to the Dark Forest and Dove being guided by her grandpa, which tears them apart more.) I love older couples having kids when they feel ready. Like they waited until they knew the time was right.

The whole Cinderpelt/heart thing just doesn't happen in this au, Cinderheart is still named after Cinderpelt, but there is no "reincarnation" happening.

And I would love to answer the offer with postivism but that is spoiling the rewrite of Sandstorm's Quest and I need to finish it before giving a thumbsup or down to the question, but I want you to know that's a great idea that adds a lot of angst, maybe the prophecy of "Kin of your kin" wasn't even about Firestar's kin, maybe even Spottedstar's.

I would read a post company fic 🥺 Hell, id read a45 chapter fic just about how buddy and crew got the cat.

All the different things you could do.... lazy morning on the couch... possible angst of someone spotting buddy and calling the space cops/the company to report a 'wild masked' running around.... how would buddy get a new body when its current one rots? Will it break down as fast now that it's not constantly fighting? i like to think buddy would have a nest type deal where it and the crew could all cuddle :]

it is something I want to get to.. I've written drabbles for myself but nothing with a real concrete exposition-middle-end. it's a time/world I think would be fun to flesh out and overall any story I'd post would be much more casual and lighthearted than a company-era story. it is inherently a safer and more self-indulgent setting :^]

it's part of the wider galaxy's culture, under company eye, to not question things. the (human) crew, survivors of the scrap-collection contract, are basically looked at as veterans. to some extent respected, looked at with awe by people who revere the company, but also, nobody pries deep. doubly so because they're all scarred and are 24/7 uncomfortable in public because they're no longer used to it in the slightest. the company owns most businesses, has a monopoly on things, but.. it is also callous about human life. uncaring. it's omnipresent but not all-seeing .

buddy dresses to conceal and covers its face and overall? it and its crew aren't actually bothered. they all keep their heads down.

as for buddy's host well. it's smuggled in as just a mask, hostless and dormant. it takes the crew several days of 1) trying to feel like people again and 2) scheming, to get it a host. and by get it a host I mean they jump and murder someone in an alleyway late at night. there is no passive way to get it a host they just have to nix someone once every few months. normal :thumbsup:

its hosts last much longer without the constant stress. it's not working itself to death in extreme conditions . the worst its body has to face is like. it rains occasionally and it has to dry off

the crew mellows out greatly. somehow both at eternal peace because they aren't being hunted for sport by wildlife, but also their nervous systems still feel like they're being hunted for sport by wildlife. they like getting to actually hang out together

secret old doodles of it and apparatus (before and after it yoinks her off the street). cats are now just as Slightly Irradiated as every other animal . strays love it because it smells like fish

okay hiiii sly here! so um anyway sdkhufsk gonna keep this kinda spoiler free but in short Marble hornets is a 15 year old youtube horror series and one of the first video projects to use the slendermans character for a more detailed story. The full series ran for around 5 years and lasts roughly around 8-9 hours. The story was kinda hosted on two separate youtube channels, with the main marble hornets youtube channel posting the main entries and a side channel that posts more cryptic videos inbetween the actual entries for lore^tm reason. To watch both of the channels videos in order i suggest this playlist as a easy starting point! Link Storywise. it starts off with our main character Jay getting the tapes for an old project from a friend and looking through them a few years later and noticing stuff.....very wrong in some of the tapes and deciding he needs to investigate further and that leads him down a...rather not good path and drags several characters back into the trenches with him in the process. Overall the editing and sound design is the main scare factor in this series with jumpscares being kinda minimal. So if you like horror with a more building and suspenseful atmosphere then this is a must watch! The characters are lovely, the story is really interesting and the mystery in it is really cool to see unfold. Fair warning tho that the editing does involve a lot of glitching aka flashing at points and the story starts of a bit slow but it picks up in a very natural way! ANYWAY yeah....in short its a youtube horror series about slenderman and glitching videos and mental illness :D I personally really recommend it and if you have more questions idk hit me up on my blog! Anyway back to danny o/

Etho looked up from the cows he was feeding to see Bdubs sitting on the edge of a chest.

"You could have been the Boogeyman," said Etho nonchalantly, returning to the livestock. "I mean, you were the Boogeyman. I was right to be cautious."

"I know that, but do you really think I could kill you?"

"You're good with a sword," said Etho, adding some fresh wheat to the cow pen. "I'd give you 40:60 odds."

"Etho," said Bdubs with a sigh. "Do you really think I could kill you."

Etho hesitated, chewing on his lip under his mask.

"I don't know," he said finally. "Maybe?"

"Do you really think our friendship means that little to me?" said Bdubs.

"Bdubs," said Etho, "I always think little–"

"I'm not little!" interrupted Bdubs.

Etho let out a small chuckle before the unsteady silence returned to the room.

"What if it was you?" Bdubs said. "Could you kill me?"

"If I had to," said Etho.

"Meaning what?"

"If you were trying to kill me."

One of the sheep let out a bleat. Etho moved over to fill its feed trough.

"What if we were the final two?" asked Bdubs. "One of us would have to kill the other."

"That's a long time away," said Etho. "One of us will do something stupid and die before then."

"But it could happen."

"I don't wanna think about it yet."

The goat gently butted its head against Etho's back. He turned around, petting its head before filling its feed trough too.

"And what about when one of us goes red?" asked Bdubs, his voice going small as his grip tightened against the edge of the chest. "We won't be allowed to be friends anymore."

"Then don't die and you won't be red," said Etho.

"I'll try not to," said Bdubs with a sad smile. "But you have to promise me too. No getting bored and reckless and throwing your green and yellow lives away."

"I can't promise that," said Etho.

The chicken in the corner popped out another egg. Etho carefully picked it up and put it with the others he was saving for Cleo.

"But I will forgive you," said Etho. "If you do have to kill me. That's just the game. No hard feelings."

"You sure?" asked Bdubs.

"I mean I will use every opportunity to tease you about it," said Etho.

"So business as usual then," said Bdubs, raising an eyebrow.

Etho chuckled.

"And I'll forgive you too," said Bdubs. "I mean, I'd rather you didn't kill me, but, I mean, if it happens it happens."

Etho nodded.

"So, you gonna help me with this, or are you just gonna sit there?" asked Etho, raising an eyebrow as he looked over at Bdubs.

"I'm planning!" said Bdubs, his usual incredulous whine returning to his voice.

"Well maybe you can plan some more wheat for us," Etho joked, throwing some seeds at Bdubs.
