#i love the elara siblings

i love that red queen puts family as the chief unit of love even above true romantic love like that for some reason is SO overrated in ya media. i dont think of the characters within friendship or romantic groups first, i unconsciously catergorise them into their family.
cal loves mare but cal will put maven first always and he loves his dad and his image so much he’s willing to sacrifice his character and relationship with her to fulfil the expectations set by his family and its not until realising what his MOTHER wanted for him that he lets go. and mare loves cal but she will always put her siblings and parents first which is why everything started with gisa and shade’s loss and it ended with her sister and the loss of her brother too. maven loves mare but he loves elara more even if she twisted him and elara loves maven more than the entire kingdom and thats why she twisted him. and elara couldn’t enact her plan to make maven king without getting rid of his love for cal first!! when shade gets killed mare HAS to kill elara because that is the only way she can make sure her pain is even with at least one person.
cameron does everything for her brother’s safety, she was willing to abandon her morals and dehumanise anyone standing in her way if thats what needed to happen. and after morrey was safe she quit— nothing was worth losing herself over except him. farley and shade’s love was so pure that it brought life and family to the farleys who were already broken with the grief of being halved. their love brought a daughter named after the death of the woman that destroyed the family, and it was so healing.
and that is what KILLS me about the samos family!!! that compared to all this unconditional loyalty— the samos family is a continuous act of playing at love and loyalty, when in reality volos and larentia could not care less about their children because they dont know how to. silver society never showcases this love and so then you have so many parents fucking up their kid in so many ways but doing it out of love because thats how they see it— all except volo and larentia.
so the samos family is an exception. i cant think of evangeline without thinking of elane and ptolemus and i cant think of ptolemus without thinking of evangeline and wren. thats their family. and at least evangeline and ptolemus experienced real love with each other, even if they were never taught it (evangeline’s fear over shade’s death was proof that she could imagine a world without him and it was one of the few times she was genuinely scared in the series).
#even the cygnets- for as minor as they were- showed themselves as a unit. iris mourning her father and raging at his loss.her being homesick#mare is one of the few ya protags to have both parents be living in the series and im so grateful for it#family as an explored concept and theme is such a weak spot for me and i genuinely believe thats why i-#-hyperfixated so much on the series#red queen#red queen series#war storm#glass sword#kings cage#maven calore#mare barrow#elane haven#ptolemus samos#evangeline samos#cameron cole#morrey cole#diana farley#clara farley#clara farley-barrow#shade barrow#willis farley#gisa barrow#elara merandus#tiberias calore vii#cal calore#tiberias calore vi#coriane jacos#larentia viper#volo samos#rewriting

What about a yandere king x reader (make or female) and reader is basically a spy, making the king fall in love with them to get information etc, and reader basically tries to kill the king in his sleep but he lives cause he's a warrior at heart 💪(bbg energy lol) and basically what the king would do in that situation
An extremely cliche scenerio
Yandere! Male! King x Gn! Spy! Reader
Ugh Uni just started last week, and it was not... Fun.
One of our classes start at 7:30, and my Uni is like 30minutes-1hour far from my house so AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Anyways, there's no classes today so I got to actually write.
I got quickly uncomfortable writing this HAHAHAH damn. So, if noncon is not your tea, or you're looking for a fluffy fic, I suggest you don't read this one. I'm serious. This is not romantic in any way.
Yandere! King name: Soma
TW: NonCon
At Saphiri, there's a lot of Kingdoms and Sultanates, and a handful of Empires. One of the Kingdoms is called the Caelum Kingdom.
It's a newly established Kingdom, and was once a sizable city without a nation. Built from the foundations of a trading center.
It's a Kingdom formed on an archipelago separated by streams of salt water and fresh water in between their islands. A tight knit community, they thrive in tourism, trading, and textile export. They were honestly on a breakthrough to become an Empire, and it was just a matter of time.
Caelum has been led by the Elara family for generations upon generations. They were the first to discover the island, to establish itself as a city, and a kingdom as they led and oversaw the whole archipelago.
And currently, it's led by Soma Elara, the 3rd born crown prince and now the King of Caelum.
Soma, being the 3rd born, didn't really have that much chance on the throne. That, and his siblings, especially the first born, were smart and all had a chance at taking the throne.
He hated it dearly.
His mother, the second Queen after the previous died, is a greedy woman.
She sees Soma as a tool, and wanted him to succeed the throne.
If not... Let's just say the back of his legs will have more scars decorated on them.
Soma suffered abuse at the hand of his mother who wanted him to catch the attention of the King. And him, conditioned by his abusive upbringing, caught the want for power from his mother.
Ego and Pride. Those two prospects were pummeled into Soma's mind. Nobody can become the King. Only he is worthy of the throne.
So, he became the perfect prince. Nevermind that he orchestrated events in which it would humiliate his siblings. That's irrelevant. What's important is him.
The perfect gentleman with the wits of a genius, he became the crown prince when the selection came.
And, to solidify his place...
His older siblings were pronounced dead due to "freak accidents". One was devoured by sea monsters, the other was torn apart by demons. The younger ones were lucky, they only got to be a bit disabled due to "their own faults at being clumsy".
To not raise suspicion, of course Soma got hurt. Dead almost, but he miraculously recovered! How delightful!
The poor scapegoat is the youngest. And, as she got executed, Soma had a cold look of arrogance on his face.
The Queen?
She's afraid of the monster she created. She wanted a King, not a tyrant.
And, as she trembles when her friends tell her how good of a King her son is, Soma glares at her coldly from the balcony, daring her to speak ill of him.
Years passed, and Soma is now of marriageable age at 25.
His advisers told him to find a Queen, but he refuses to do so.
He's thinks having a Queen would make him look weak in the eyes of people.
So, why get a Queen when he can be an absolute Patriarch?
His Pride cannot allow for a potential weakness.
Not until a certain new person entered the palace as a stableperson...
Soma is welcoming foreign envoys to his palace, in which they would have a inter-country peace talks about a certain Emperor who is wreaking havoc amongst other kingdoms in search of a knight. They said that she was the supposed to be Empress, but fled the Empire.
Even one of the Dukes there, Duke Eros, is here to talk about the man.
As Soma guides the envoys to the palace grand meeting room, a certain servant caught his eyes.
They were frolicking with his horse, who was known to be too stubborn for its own good. Heck, this horse needs coaxing from Soma even just to let him ride on it.
But this stableperson was just... Hugging and petting his horse without any kind of violent reaction.
Honestly, Soma's ego was bruised.
His eyebrows furrowed as he led the envoys to the meeting hall once more.
He needs to know who this person is.
After quite the gruelling three hours of a collective disbelief over the actions of the Emperor Callisto, Soma got out of the meeting room and bid a good day to the envoys. Without any more distractions, he marched to the stables to find the person.
There, he saw you. Brushing the coat of his horse ever so gently and with a hum.
Oh he's annoyed.
Again, how can this pride filled horse just... Let's you be?
"State your name."
Your head, that was hidden due to being on the other side of the horse, popped out of the frame and he lets out a confused look.
You look so... Cute and innocent with those sparkling eyes that held so much affection for the horse in front of you.
"Oh! Your majesty!" You bowed. Even your voice sounds so sweet. "My name is Y/N. I'm not unworthy to meet you but..."
You looked up at him, eyes sparkling once more but now, with affection for him.
Oh?
"But I am so glad to meet you, your majesty."
Your voice held so much affection and love for him.
He cleared his throat, a bit awkward.
Sure, people admired him, but these people always held reverence and respect first. But here you are, projecting your affection like this.
His ego was fed immensly.
"You're bold." Soma smirked, "I like that."
He didn't miss the way your eyes widened subtly. Your face glowed with radiance of happiness that he was so sure he got blinded.
"Oh! Oh my..." You held your blushing cheeks, shy. "Thank you, your majesty... Um Oh..."
You bowed and ran away, fully embarrassed.
Soma, surprised, let his guard down a bit as he laughed gently at your antics.
You were like a deer that was curious, then runs away when get caught.
He liked that.
Immensly.
Yet, what he doesn't know, is that you were smirking as you ran away.
You knew that a prideful man like him wouldn't like a strong independent person.
That would just clash with his personality.
But, what if that person was cute, innocent, shy, friendly... Someone who is easily protect-able. Someone who loves them immensely and is shy about it?
It would inflate his ego wildly seeing this naive person love them without a care.
You're a spy sent by the Emperor Callisto in order to find his darling knight here. And, if you can't find her, you just need to send the Emperor information, so that he can infiltrate the Kingdom and wreck havoc just to lure out the knight.
Honestly, the Emperor scares you. Who's crazy enough to wage countless wars just to find his woman?
Or does he delight in bloodshed and finding his darling is just an excuse?
Who knows, but you knew you have to kill Soma after you extracted enough information from him to start the war inside the Kingdom.
Starting with capturing the heart of the Prideful King.
"Soma!"
You ran to Soma and hugged him tightly. A happy smile on your face with a blush well orchestrated that you know he loves.
Soma smiles and kisses the top of your head before continuing to talk to his Prime Minister.
In those two months that you were here, you painstakingly captured Soma in your hands. Continuing to act as the naive person who doesn't know noble etiquette, you were a breath of fresh air in the uptight palace.
The servants love you, the other nobles look longingly your way, wanting to act as carefree as you.
And Soma? He's head over heels for you.
Yet, in his mind, you were the one in love. Not him. He loves having you by his arms, with you just loving him affectionately and being there to relieve his stress.
You were promoted to consort immediately once you confessed to him fully, and was now a precious being inside the Kingdom.
After all, this King who doesn't want marriage, with ego so high people swore it was through the heavens, suddenly had a consort on their way to become his royal partner.
Soma gave you everything. He loves giving you gifts, asserting dominance as he spoils you greatly.
And, as his reward, you would pour your affection to him while asking about information that he willingly gave.
After all, the foolish king still thinks you won't betray him.
You were only a stableperson, who in their right mind would betray him? Someone who's such a catch?
Sure, he's really handsome. People were lining left and right for his hand in marriage after all. And he spoils you greatly. You won't betray him. He knows it.
But, why are you straddling his lap now, in the middle of the knight, with a knife raised up high?
You were staring at him so coldly, he swore you are a different person.
Anguish, that's what Soma felt first.
He wanted to ask you why, but anger immediately filled him as you swung the knife down.
You're fast, but not fast enough.
He grabbed your hand and gripped it hard, making you seethe and drop the knife hilt down on the bed.
"WHY?!" He screamed, trying to clutch your body to submission. "HOW DARE YOU BETRAY ME!"
You gritted your teeth and tried to thrash away from his hold, not saying anything.
When he got you pinned down on the bed, he grabbed your chin and forced you to look at him.
"Who sent you." He chillingly said that you gulped and shakily answered.
"Emperor Callisto."
Soma stopped, eyes darkened to a degree.
Yet, the words that came out of his mouth was surprising for you.
"So, you're doing this for a man other than me?"
He threw his head back, laughing wildly as his pride got pummeled fully.
First, you made him dance on your palm. Make him spill information and secrets. Let him spoil you greatly. Let you love him freely! And this is how you pay him? A betrayal for another man?
You're such a greedy fucker.
"Oh, cuz he's an Emperor, isn't he?" He spat out, eyes wide with extreme jealousy and unbridled rage. His squeeze on your waist was hurting you immensely. "And i'm not? Is this it? Do you spread your legs to men of higher status huh?"
Your heart dropped when you saw him take off his dress shirt, displaying his carved out muscles that once brought you lust, but now it brought you fear.
Soma gripped your shirt, eyes dead with no light. His mouth a thin light as he captured your lips in a frenzied kiss.
He's no one with pride now. His ego gone.
The betrayal made him crazy as you made him crazy for you.
Placing a palm on your abdomen, he smirks. An evil intent on his eye.
"I'm gonna fuck/breed you into submission." He growls out, grinding his hips against yours. "I'm gonna make you forget the Emperor. I only want you to only live for me, sing and dance for me, I want you to only love me."
And as he relishes in the fear in your eyes, he smirks.
You're his.
And he will break you into being his if you try to get out of his clutches at all.
Remember that.

Official updates: (first, let me mentally take your hand, okay?) So it was announced that on June 20th Ding Xingchen is going to graduate from the LC musical cast, meaning this will be his last time performing as Cheng Xiaoshi.
I've researched this extensively, so I can assure you, that even though it's sudden he's okay 💕 It was a matter of scheduling, apparently he has other work scheduled and couldn't stay in Shanghai (thanks Elara for help with research).
I promise to prepare a post focused on him, bc I will be missing my little brother Xingchen so much ;w;
Oh! Remember to check weibo tommorow (main tag + wmh and ghx tags should do). It will be 200th performance day 🎉We don't know what they are planning so it can be full of surprises >>
Links in replies: the latest Sapphire Pyro's yt video (go watch it please! it mentions both of LC musicals and I was a consultant 🥰) + srb&wyh encore to bless your eyes
June 9th, night: Shu Rongbo, Du Guangyi, Zuo Yiping
Not much is known abt this performance, but Du Guangyi is glowing as always :>
June 10th, noon: Shu Rongbo, Wu Yihan, Qiang Dongyue
The bois were finally reunited 🥺💖Wu Yihan was so giddy. He missed a line in 'Pursuers of Light' and laughed so much he had to sing with his back facing the audience. Shu Rongbo turned him around and pinched his back when they were hugging (no hiding on his watch >:[
June 10th, night: Cao Muzhi, Wu Yihan, Qian Anqi
I couldn't find videos from then, but lots of pictures thankfully 😌

June 15th, noon: Ding Xingchen, Yang Haoran, Yan Lehuang
I don't know what they were doing except:
Housekeeping note: We (@wrathyforest and @/_Setsuna_iro_ on twt) are making another postcard to hand out to the actors (Cai Qi, Wang Minhui & Deng Xianling). So I'm asking all the LC musical fans to comment a name of your country and we'll include it somwhere on a postcard. To send them love from all around the world 🥰
Sorry for lack of details about the performances, these lineups don't get enough coverage 😔

Ursa is *chefs kiss*. She loves her Mom. She respects her mother for putting up with so much just to keep Ursa and her siblings safe. That doesn’t means she isn’t protective. She punches Moon in the mouth and knocks him out first time she sees him after Eclipse and Moon meet up again.

It wasn't supposed to be this way - Part 2
Hi hey hello! Part 2 is here! I'm worried that there are some inconsistencies from part 1 to part 2 and if there are certain things that don't add up. I wanted to get this out, but I'm also considering going back to revise both parts to make sure it flows!
This is my first time actually posting fanfiction, I've been reading it for as long as I can remember and writing here and there, but I feel like I'm still trying to nail down my writing style. I might make some minor changes, but I'm very much open to any feedback!
Warnings: Domestic abuse

Walking with her head low, Elara neared the center of the city.
It was heartbreaking to walk through the city this way - actively trying to avoid everyone, trying to not be recognized.
Velaris meant a lot to everyone in the inner circle and Elara would never try to claim that it meant more to her than anyone else. All of them would unquestionably lay down their lives to protect this place - Gods Rhysand had done just that - had experienced something worse than death for fifty years straight.
At the risk of being too self important, some days she felt like Rhysand was the only person who could truly relate to how she felt about how deeply her soul was intertwined to this city. The fae who lived here, their families, their stories. It wasn't just that - it was the priestesses in the library, it was the Illyrian warriors who had been outcasts of the camps, and all of the other souls this city has taken in.
Having to hide herself away from the citizens of the city, sneak around to hide a dark and twisted secret, being too ashamed to show her face - was truly heartbreaking to her. It affected her in a way that most would never understand. She ached to describe this feeling to someone, to unload the heavy mass of shame she was carrying, but who could she possibly tell?
Rhysand was the closest thing she had to an older sibling, he understood the way she grew up and where she came from, understood how much this city meant to her and above all else, truly understood the burden of having others rely on you to perform and deliver what was needed of you.
Rhysand's inner circle were trusted individuals, they were competent - they did what needed to be done and they rarely, if ever, let themselves slip away from that. How could he continue entrusting her with the city if Elara couldn't even be trusted with making the right decisions about her personal life?
Somedays it felt like the shame she carried was more visible than any bruise Merikh could've ever given her.
She neared her mother's house, somewhere she had once loved, a place that once represented freedom and new beginnings, now a house of looming death.
There was a group of young Fae walking on the other side of the road, bright eyed and eager, Elara looked up and smiled at them out of habit. One of her most favorite things to do was visit the schools in Velaris as often as she could. For a moment she foolishly forgot about being on guard, and wistfully thought about what it would be like to hit a reset button, to have developed differently, to give the chemicals in her brain a second chance. To be a young female again, bright eyed and eager about the world.
From behind her, a steady and authoritative male voice spoke with the calmness and respect that only a trained and diplomatic soldier can master.
"Governess"
Her back straightened at the exact same moment that her heart stopped beating. Slowly, she turned around, because what other choice did she have?
As she turned around, the male's head was still ducked into a bow and Elara had a fleeting thought - this was the one millisecond she had before he would see the state of her neck and face, the very last moment before she would have to come up with some kind of explanation. As the male raised his head to look her she ducked her head briefly as a sign of respect, never quite used to having people bow to her and never wanting to leave it unanswered.
Raising her head to look at the male, she recognized him as being a spy from the night court, one of Azriel's trusted soldiers.
"Sylas," she greeted him with a smile, lest he sense anything amiss with her, "to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I've just returned from a mission and was walking through the city. I saw you from across the way and thought I would say hello," His tone was easy and he was smiling, but Elara was keenly aware of him cataloging her appearance.
Quick on your feet Elara
"Well that makes two of us, I've just returned to the city and was paying my mother a visit," the lie slipped out easily and much more naturally than she could've hoped for. "I trust I'll be hearing about your travels and the state of Prythian soon." Elara received weekly reports, occasionally from Azriel, but more often than not he was away and the report came from one of his spies.
Sylas nodded affirmatively and replied "I look forward to hearing about your mission as well," pointedly, he looked at the bruises on her face, "I'd hate to see what your opponent looks like."
Elara's heart dropped and her anxiety spiked, but ever the composed warrior she simply gave Sylas a conspiratorial smile and wink.
"I'll see you at our next meeting, take care of yourself, Sylas"
He briefly bowed his head one final time and with that he was off.
fuck. fuck. fuck.
What were the odds a spy trained to work under Azriel himself didn't see straight through that entire interaction?
Elara wouldn't bet anything valuable on it. She just hoped he had enough discretion to keep his mouth shut.
With her face bruised, her heart pounding and her head held high she entered her mother's house.
She opened the door to good natured chaos.
Endor and Elvira had music playing through the house and they were dancing in the living room - trying and failing - to spin each other around. Her mother was sitting up in her recliner, laughing, a rare but golden sight to see.
For a brief moment, Elara stood at the door, her family not quite noticing her yet and she smiled, a glimpse of the version of her family without the abuse and the hardship.
Her brother twirls Elvira around and as she turns she catches a glimpse of Elara standing at the door.
"Ellie!! What are you doing here?" her sister runs across the room, but stops halfway, "what happened to see your face?"
Ellie offered her a simple sheepish shrug and said simply "duty called again."
Elvira laughed and hugged her, Endor gave her a fist bump, and her mother just shook her head and smiled.
A wave of shame crashed over her.
Her job obviously required that she be diplomatic and act with discretion, if that meant lying or being a little manipulative, so be it - but this kind of behavior had never infiltrated to her personal life, to her personal relationships.
Elara had perfected the art of compartmentalizing quite a few hundred years ago - and she shoved this feeling into dungeon cell in the depths of her brain and stored it under lock and key.
Her siblings had already gone back to dancing and her both motioned to the seat beside her.
For the next few hours they laughed and talked, her and her brother cooked lunch, and they sat around her mother, just being in her presence.
A good reminder for Elara that she needed to do this more often.
The music had been stopped for a while, Laurel had dozed off and Endor had gone to train with some friends. The two sisters were sitting out in the backyard and it was nice - there were so many things Elara wanted to discuss with her - the state of relationship, her mother, Elvira's future and a number of other things that could and should be address but it all felt too heavy to bring up now.
Sitting out in the sun made Elara feel much better, her wings felt less sore and when she had looked in the mirror earlier, the bruises were mostly faded, the accelerated healing finally starting to kick in. She had barely thought about Merikh since being here; her mind wouldn't allow her to out of pure preservation. She did allow her mind to wonder where he was, if he had returned to their apartment, if she should go back there and if he would be in a good mood if she did.
Without warning, there was a knock on her mental shields. Elara immediately recognized it as being Rhysand. Immediately, she opened a small sliver of her mind.
"El, come to House of Wind as soon as possible. No immediate threat to the city, but we have intel that needs to be discussed."
She responded affirmatively and stood up. "Sorry little sis, duty is calling. Tell Mom and Enny I'll be back sometime this week, I love you."
Her sister, as the rest of her family, was used to her having to dash off for various reasons with little to no warning. She simply nodded and Elara was off.
She flew over the city to the house, wings sore and mind heavy. Elara allowed herself for just a moment to consider her current situation and what she would do.
Leaving. Leaving was the only option. She knew that, had for some time.
She arrived to the house and was immediately greeted by Feyre.
"I know I said we wouldn't bother you, I'm terribly sorry."
Elara shook her head and smiled duty calls.
She followed Feyre into the dining room. Rhysand was sat at the head of the table, Cassian was standing at his side energy buzzing through him and Azriel was sat slightly off to the side shrouded in shadows; Amren and Mor sat toward the middle of the rectangular table. Elara recognized a few of Azriel's spies and a few of Cassian's soldiers.
She scanned around the rest of the table and had to physically restrain herself from reacting. Merikh sat at the other end of the table speaking with Sylas, Azriel's spy whom she had crossed paths with earlier in the day. Her heart started to race, but she made a conscious effort to slow it down, lest she spread a scent of fear or anxiety throughout the room.
Rhysand looks up to see his Governess entering the room his eyes glaze over ever so slightly and he spoke to her mind.
Sylas went out to the northern steppes this morning. We had heard word of an errant camp leader that had moved his people closer to the mountain, he's amassed a larger group under his lead and he's been conducting some very concerning drills and shows of strength.
It was not unusual for Illyrian camp leaders to be causing unrest. While Elara herself was not directly responsible for this area, it was very pertinent that she was made aware of disruptions or possible sources of conflict. Usually, though it would not have required an emergency meeting.
Rhys must have sensed Elara's slight confusion and he continued his explanation.
Of course, as you know, these kinds of things aren't unusual. Sylas came back and gave report, we weren't particularly concerned, but Azriel heard one of the names of the Illyrians and recognized him as being a citizen of Velaris.
An active member of the camp or a hostage? That felt like a ridiculous question, but the whole scenario was borderline unbelievable. Neither option seemed realistic, but how else would a citizen of Velaris join a camp in the Illyrian steppes. Why else?
It seems he is an active member by choice. How or why he got out there I'm really not sure. We have Merikh monitoring the situation, but of course it's something to keep an eye on. We can't have them recruiting people out of Velaris.
Certainly not.
She turned around to the rest of the room. Merikh was trying to make eye contact with her, she could feel a little bit of his anxious energy. Maybe he was trying to gauge her thoughts, figure out how volatile she was feeling. In their home, Merikh might have the power over her, but in this house and with these people, Merikh was lucky to have even found someone to take the time to bring him up to the meeting room.
Rhys nodded toward her. Your meeting Elara Starlight, we follow your lead.
She made eye contact with Azriel and Cassian, smiling to acknowledge them. Cassian smiled back, Azriel simply nodded. There was something about his silent acknowledgement that gave her a boost of confidence.
Addressing the room she asked, "what do we know about the citizen of Velaris? How could he have gotten to the steppes?"
Sylas opened his mouth to speak, after getting a small go ahead gesture from Azriel, but Merikh was quicker.
"I believe he was frustrated with the lack of opportunity here, there have been a lot of changes and there's no place for a male like him anymore. He seems like a restless male that would've been better suited for the Illyrian lifestyle. If he fits better there, why would we bring him back?"
Elara couldn't find a way to respond to that without blasting him out of his seat, so she simply stayed silent and turned toward Sylas.
He ducked his head toward her, "Governess, I can't say why he joined, but I do believe that the leader of this particular camp is ramping up his recruiting efforts. He's very eager to grow his numbers and spread his message."
Azriel added in "We will be running missions through that region regularly and making contact with leaders and members. I feel we should have extra boots on the ground here in order to ensure we're not losing anymore of our citizens to this cause."
"I'll speak to my contacts throughout the city to see if I can better understand the situation and will of course report back. Azriel, we'll be in touch about missions and Sylas," she turned to the spy, "I might pull you in for some intel gathering around the city and I would like to go out to the Illyrian steppes to see it for myself." Elara hadn't been out to Illyria in quite some time, she was not necessarily eager, but there a was a threat to be handled and she knew she needed to be out there.
Elara opened her mouth to ask Cassian a question about the Illyrian soldiers and if there were any grumblings across their ranks but Merikh stood up before she could get the words out.
Her anxiety spiked and dread overwhelmed her. If it was possible to die of second hand embarrassment, Elara's death would be the most eminent it ever had them.
"Now hold on, I'm the emissary between these lands, I should be the one to go. I would not need an spy escort to make sure I'm not raped and maimed for a simple visit. We've already lost a citizen to their groups, it doesn't -"
"If the governess wishes to visit the Steppes, I will see to it that she makes the visit." Azriel spoke with such finality that everyone was quiet for several moments.
Rhsyand had been quiet for the majority of the conversation and he was now carefully and silently considering Merikh.
Elara stood there in silent shame. How horrible was it to have your partner speak of you in that way in front of the High Lord and inner circle. How was she ever meant to be taken seriously?
Feyre, Elara do you believe we're done here? Rhysand asked mind to mind. Elara indicated it was and Feyre agreed.
"We will continue to monitor the situation and take the next steps we've decided on."
With Rhysand's dismissal, everyone stood from the table, some hanging around to talk, others laughing about their days; the serious events from the meeting almost entirely forgotten.
Elara walked down the hallway to pop into her office, while she didn't work out of it often, there was some paperwork and letters she wanted to retrieve. As she opened the door, she heard footsteps behind her and immediately knew it was Merikh. Before she could decide on what to do he had a grip on her forearm and was in her face.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Elara opened her mouth to respond and he shoved her back further into the office.
"You made me look like a fool out there. You've turned this city to shit and now you want to come in looking like the hero and step over me to go out to Illyria."
Elara stayed silent. It was better than trying to reason with him when he was in this state.
In the back of her mind, she clocked the softest sound of a heal turn around the corner. Unsure if Merikh heard it or not, she tried to back out of his grasp, worried someone would see what was going on. He held on tighter and opened his mouth to berate her again - she heard another soft step in their direction, this time Merikh heard it, but before he could fully react, Azriel was standing in the doorway.
Elara had never felt shame quite like what she was feeling in this moment. She had never wished to disappear more, had never wanted to be invisible and cease to exist quite as much as she did right now. Azriel could be quieter than silence itself, Elara knew that as well as anyone else. Had he made the noise intentionally to alert them of his presence? Had he misjudged the situation, wanted to avoid catching them in a compromising situation?
Azriel stood for a moment, considering the two of them.
"Merikh, you're needed in the foyer, Rhsyand needs to speak with you."
Merikh, had tried to disguise his hand placements as a romantic gesture, removed his arms from her shoulder and nodded once before leaving the room.
And there stood you and Azriel.
Heart racing and blood pumping, anxiety spiked so high she was starting to shake.
Calm and composed, Azriel stood like a stone in the doorway. It seemed he was rendered speechless.

The Raven and the Vampire
Chapter 3
updated 11/21/25 warning long chapter
anything purple is inner monologe
“So, Elara, how are you liking forks?” Jessica asks from her side of the table, trying to bring the conversation and attention back to the group instead of the Cullens.
“Oh, it's very interesting now. I like it a lot more than I thought I would.
“ Why did you and your family move here, if you don’t mind us asking?
“It’s fine, Angela. I didn’t move with my immediate family. My parents are very busy and have to move around for their jobs. I didn't want to move continuously during school, so when my uncle got positioned here for his job, I stayed with them until my parents moved around.”
I'm not technically lying; I tell my story to the group. I mean, my parents are busy; they are royalty. However, I can’t say to a group of Midgardian teenagers. I'm 800-plus years old and only in Forks to look for my soulmate.
“I do miss them, though, and my baby brothers.”
“You have siblings?”
“Yes, they were just born, so they still have to be with my mum, who goes with my father everywhere.”
“What are their names?”
I begin to say Narfi and Vali, but remember those aren't Midgardian names, “Their names are Vance and Nate, their twins.”
“Aww, that’s so cute. Babies are adorable,” Jessica gushes.
The bell rings, and I quickly return to the Cullens' table, but they have all vanished. They are pretty fast, aren’t they? This is just another clue to the puzzle. I’ll have to ask Lucas later if he has any ideas.
“Oh crap, guys, lunch is over; what class do you have next, elara.”
“ I have art, AP foreign language, and then AP history.”
“ I have journalism next, but art is right next to it. I'll walk with you.”
“Thanks, Angela.”
Walking with Angela was okay; she seemed nice and very smart. The classroom was again in shades of white but did have pops of color from the artwork hanging all around. Setting down your stuff and waiting for the teacher, a familiar figure bounces up and sets down.
“Your name is Elara, right? It's nice to meet you, I’m Alice. Alice Cullen, it's lovely to meet you,” she says, shaking my hand.
“You as well,” I respond. As I shake her hand, I notice how cold she is. It’s unusual because even I can tell she’s cold.
“Wow, your hands are freezing.”
“Oh, yeah, you know what they say: cold hands, warm heart.”
“I agree.”
“You know, I can already tell we’ll be great friends. I hope everything comes together for you.”
“Oh, thanks! I hope we become friends, too.”
Just as we finish that conversation, the teacher starts the lesson. I find myself glancing back and forth between the canvas in front of me and Alice, trying not to stare at her for the entire class. The mystery surrounding her is too strong to ignore. So, I decided to use my other senses, just like Aunt Sif always said: When you can’t use your eyes, use your other senses.
Slowing my breathing, I close my eyes and wait. I can hear all the heartbeats in the room and the air filling their lungs—except one coming from the space right next to me.
Looking at Alice, I see her moving and blinking as she works on her sketch. Now that’s interesting; what on earth are the Cullens? There hasn't been a species or being I've met yet, that doesn't have some sort of bodily anatomy that can be detected.
“So, Elara, how old are you?” Alice asks, noticing that I've been watching her.
“I’m 853 as of October 13th,” I reply with a playful grin.
“What?”
“Sorry, I was joking. I'm 18.”
“Oh, you're the same age as some of my siblings.”
“Yeah, I saw all of you at lunch. I'm sorry that some people at the table were discussing your family. I’m sure that’s not a good feeling.”
“Oh, no, it’s fine. They’ve talked about us since we moved here.”
“Well, based on what they said, you have an amazing family.”
“Thank you. I can tell you're lovely, too. You’re going to make someone very happy someday.”
“Why, thank you! That’s sweet.” Just then, the bell rings, cutting me off.
“Have a nice next class, Elara. I think you’ll enjoy it.”
Before I can respond, she’s gone—much faster than any ordinary human.
As I walk to my last class of the day, I ponder the clues to the puzzle. Cold skin—my magic reacted to them, but they were unaware it came from me. Alice didn’t have a heartbeat, but I hadn’t checked the others yet, so I couldn't be sure if it was just her. They seemed quick, which made my mind race as I entered the room. Suddenly, my aesir started yelling at me.
Looking up, the first thing I noticed was him. The very air around him seemed to shimmer.
“Ah, Miss Mani, I presume. I'm Mr. Wright. Welcome to AP History. Please take a seat over by Mr. Hale. Mr. Hale, please raise your hand so she knows where to go.”
Jaspers pov
I did as I was asked, trying to mask the internal crisis. God, Edward wanted to kill Bella upon meeting her, and I wanted to kill everyone most of the time, and now the new girl is being sent right into the lion's den, damn my luck. I didn't want to breathe or move, but as she got closer, her presence washed over me. A cooling breath of air in the never-ending smell of the other students' blood. It was incredible how her whole being captured me, and it was in that instance I knew she was my mate.
Elaras pov
I was raised in a noble court and have over 800 years of speaking experience. Yet, I cannot utter a word while sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with my soulmate. I’m not even paying attention to the teacher’s ramblings; my mind is consumed by the subtle details I notice about him. The golden color of his hair, the slope of his nose, and the way one curl brushes above his right eye captivate me. Speaking of his eyes, they are the most beautiful ember color I’ve ever seen. The plaid blue shirt he’s wearing fits him perfectly. Oh, for the love of the gods, just say something to him!
“Um, hi,”
“Hello.”
“Im Elara”
“Jasper Hale, a pleasure to meet you, Darlin”
Darlin is officially my new favorite word, especially in that beautiful accent.
“ Are you enjoying forks?”
“It’s starting to grow on me.”
“I think I can understand that.”
You exchange notes and make small talk for the rest of the class before the dreaded bell rings, signaling your departure from him.
“I guess I'll see you tomorrow?” I almost don’t want to part from him, but I know now isn’t the time for us, but it is a start
“Of course, see you tomorrow, darlin'.”
Busting through the front door, I call for Mila and Lucas. I have to share all my experiences with them. I have to call Mom and Dad. I have to…….
“Goddess Elara, is that you banging around out there.” I hear coming from the kitchen, cutting off my inner turmoil.
“Yes, Mila, but I have a good cause. Where’s Lucas? I need to speak to him, as well.”
“I'm right here, princess; how was your first day of school? ' Lucas asks as he steps out of the study.
“I found them; I found my soulmate.”
“That's terrific news, my lady!”
“Isn’t it? It’s just um.”
“I sense a but coming.”
“You’re correct, Mila. That’s why I need you and Lucas. From everything I’ve observed today, him and his are not human.”
"Before we delve into all that, why don't you start by telling us their name?"
"Oh, yes. Sorry! His name is Jasper. Jasper Hale."
"What a lovely and strong name."
"I would prefer to focus more on the non-human aspect."
" Lucas."
“I'm sorry, Mila, but the princess's safety is my first concern. I promised her father and, more importantly, the Allfather.”
“Yes, and we shall let you complete your duty, continue, little one.”
“ I observed that they don’t have heartbeats and seem very fast. Alice, Jasper's sister, was also cold and colder than any human should be.”
“Hmmmmm, by any chance, did they seem inhumanly beautiful?
“Yes, actually, they did stand out more than the other children.”
“What about their eyes?”
“My soulmate had beautiful ember, almost yellow eyes while his family had varying shades to almost deep brown/black.”
“Then I believe I know what they may be, my lady.”
“You do.”
“Yes, Midgardians have a legend of an inhuman species that survives on the blood of other sentient beings. While many believe these stories to be just that, the being is real. Here, the local tribe calls them the cold ones,”
“Local tribe?”
“Yes, there is a tribe here of children of Fenrir.”
“Oh, wolf shifters, Amazing. I remember reading about them as a child. I'm glad they are still around.
“Yes, they are. Many of them have taken on the charge of maintaining peace
and protecting the humans from the cold ones.”
“Why must they protect the humans?”
“Cold ones, while intelligent, would be overcome by their darker tendencies and slaughter full villages. The packs are some creatures capable of defeating a cold one, so they took on the role of protectors for their packs and the humans in their territories. From what you’ve told me, your soulmate and his family seem to be the other end of that spectrum.”
“What do you mean?”
“ Well, most cold ones, when changed, their eyes hold the color of blood, mainly if they feed off humans. But with your soulmate having gold-colored eyes, it would seem he and his family are, in a way….vegetarian vampires,
“Meaning?
“Meaning they don’t prey on humans but animals instead.”
“Amazing, what else do you know of their species.’
“Well, the good thing is they are a long-lived race; they do not age from when they are turned.”
“Perfect. I won't have to worry about outliving them and the aging we could figure out later, but that is so far away.”
“The cold ones can also have gifts.”
“They have aesir?”
“No, my lady, not Asgardian aesir; it's a special form that we don’t know much about; all I know is that they can have abilities from telepathy to elemental manipulation. From my understanding, it all depends on their lives before they are turned, and even then, not every vampire has a gift.”
“Interesting, Mom and dad will be impressed.”
“Elara, dear, when you contact them, please tell them we’ve finished the house preparations so they can send over your pet.
“Mila, you're the best; Aurelius will love the woods here.”
“Yes, I'm sure that ball of mischief you call a pet will be so happy.”
“Oh, Lucas, it'll be fine. Relius stays in snake form most of the time. Those are common in Midgard.
“Indeed, smaller varieties of snakes are, but the offspring of Jormungandr. I doubt the residents would view a practical dragon as anything other than the harmless creature you claim to be.
For starters, Lucus and Aurelius are a he, not an it. Secondly, you have to let that accidental paralysis incident go—it was almost 100 years ago. He was after a mouse; he didn't mean to bite your foot. Thirdly, he's just a baby.
Whatever you say, princess, just keep him in line is all I ask.
I will, and. Besides, think of it this way: he can help you protect me.”
“Whatever you say, dear princess, whatever you say.”
Cullens pov
The following day at school, the Cullens gathered around their sleek cars, a familiar scene that had become part of their routine. However, this time, there was a palpable sense of anticipation, a stark contrast to their usual reluctance about slipping back into their high school identities for another tedious day. Instead of the usual banter and quiet sighs, they stood together with a collective focus, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new girl that had already impacted their world.”
“Jasper, are you sure it's her you felt the connection to?”
“Yes, I’m sure. She’s the only one around that I don’t feel the urge to kill.” Her presence alone feels like a cool blanket covering the aching heat in his throat. Not that he’d admit that to his siblings yet.
“Well, everyone, how do we think we should handle this.?” Alice asks the group surrounding her
“ Last time we got involved with a human, it didn’t go well, Sorry Bella.”
“No offense taken Rue.”
“I haven’t seen anything in our futures that suggests she’s a danger, and I still haven't been able to see hers either; everything is covered in light when I try.”
“It's ok, Alice, thanks for trying.
“No problem, Jas. And besides, everyone, this could finally be Jasper's chance to have the happiness he deserves. I'm not going to let you all ruin that for him.”
Jasper smiles, thankful for the pixie he called a friend and a sister.
“I think we should get to know her, and if she is a danger, we'll speak to Carlisle and go from there,” Rue states to the group.
“ Exactly, and besides, I've already introduced myself to her; I know she'll be a wonderful addition to our family.”
“Just make sure you respect her boundaries, babe.”
“Rue, I'm offended; I greatly respect boundaries.” Rue shakes her head along with the rest of the Cullens
“Sure you do, sweety. Come on, the bells about to ring. I wouldn’t want to miss another glorious day of high school.
Elaras pov
Watching the Cullens enter the school, I feel a smile spread as I lean against the purple jeep Lucas suggested I drive instead of my bike. I can see them all once again watching me from around their cars.
“Is that your mate?” Aurelius asks from his disguised position on my head
“Yes, the blonde with the curly hair; the rest are his family.”
“They seem different.”
“They are their vampires.”
“Vampires, huh? How very, very interesting.”
I smile at my pet as I eye the Cullens looking at me. Most of them, i.e., Emmet, Alice, and Jasper have smiles on their faces, while the others look somewhat grim. It’s almost like they are suspicious of me. All I can do is smile, knowing they won't be able to see through the glamor i have unless I want them to.
Yet they are suspicious of me; hmmmm, we'll just have to see who figures it out first.
I brush the loose strands of my hair and remind Aurelius to be good as I make my way onto the brick building.
The morning was off to a good start when I spotted Alice while walking to my next class. She was in the hallway with her girlfriend Rue and their sister Rosalie. I decided to wait for the rushing crowd of students to thin out before making my way over. Alice noticed me and greeted me with a big smile, enthusiastically gesturing for me to come closer to them.
“Elara, good morning.”
“Morning, Alice.”
“Let me introduce you, this is my girlfriend Rue and my older sister Rosalie,”
“It’s nice to meet both of you.”
“It’s nice to meet you. Alice wouldn’t stop talking about you yesterday after art. It's almost like I already know you. Rose says hi, hun. Don’t be so stiff.” rue says, nudging the blonde with her elbow.
“No, it's fine. She doesn’t have to say anything if she doesn’t want to.”
No, that's not it. Sorry, I was just thinking. Hello, my name is Rosalie. It's nice to meet you. I assume you received everyone's whole tour yesterday.
“Yeah, it was so much fun. Especially all the staring and whispering.”
“ I can understand it was the same when we started school here.”
“At least you all have each other. It seems like you’re a very tight-knit family.”
“Yeah, we can be.”
“Elara, I’m so excited! You have to sit with us at lunch today and meet everyone. I’m sure we’ll all become fast friends.”
“Sure, Alice. I would love that, but only if everyone is comfortable. I’ve only really talked to you and Jasper a little.”
“Oh no, everyone would be just fine. I'll make sure of it. Now I'll see you at lunch. I'll wait for you by the front door. Come on, rue, we have science class. “ the brunette says, grabbing her girlfriend's hand and dragging her down the hallway.
“Oh joy, bye, elara,” Rue replies, her whole body slumping with disdain at the upcoming class. I simply laugh, waving after her. Rosalie stands beside me, smiling lightly at her sibling's behavior.
“What about you, Rosalie?”
“I have math with Emmet next, but I guess I'll see you at lunch.”
As the blond strides away, I turn and head towards my next class, anticipation bubbling within me—a lunch date with the mysterious Cullen family. I can't wait.
Jaspers pov
“You did what? Alice, what the hell?”
“Oh, calm down, Jasper; this is the perfect opportunity to introduce her to our family formally.”
“Have you met our family? Look what happened when Edward met Bella; we're still dealing with that. I'm not going to let my mate get hurt.”
“Jasper, calm down. Nothing will happen to Elara.”
“How do you know? She's a shield like Bella?”
“Well, I wouldn’t say she’s necessarily a shield. Like I said earlier, I've seen glimpses of her in your and our future, but it's like she’s surrounded by bright light every time I see her. Almost like she's silenced in a way.”
“That still doesn’t mean she won't be hurt by me or anyone else.”
“Jasper, you can’t live your life in fear, or you won't live at all. I want you to be happy, and I know she’s what will make you happy. Now pull yourself together, soldier; she's joining us for lunch, " Alice says sternly before hopping off to her class. I remain seated under the bleachers, preparing for the storm ahead. I wish more now than ever that Edward is mistaken about his eternal damnation theory because I could use hope.
Elaras pov
The bells ring loudly, momentarily drowning out the steady rhythm of my heart. Alright, Elara, you've got this. You are an 853-year-old princess of Asgard, skilled in the mystic arts and combat since childhood. A group of Midgardian vampire teenagers is easy for you. Pep talk done; I head into the lunch room and immediately see Alice bounding up to me.
“There you are, girly, right this way, and don’t worry, only Edward bites, but you can just ignore him. The rest of us do most of the time.”
Slipping her arm through mine, I have no choice but to follow her as the cafeteria watches. It’s just like a court function back home. I keep my head high and walk forward until the table comes into view, and there he is—gorgeous curls and all.
“Here she is, everyone!” Alice exclaims as she introduces everyone. “Elara, you’ve already met my better half, Rue. " You wave and smile at Rue, which she copies.
“Next to her is Bella Swan. I don’t know if you have officially met.”
“We haven't Hello Bella”
“Hi elara”
“The brooding one beside her is her boyfriend and our brother Edward.” He just nods, which is fine with me, as I reciprocate.
“Hey, don’t forget about me; I want to say hi too.”
“Yeah yeah, emmet, hold your horses. Elara, this is emmet, the loud one of the group.”
“Don’t you mean the fun one of the group?”
“No, I mean loud.”
“Hahaha, hi emmet, it's nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you, Elara. I have to say your bike was sick the first day. We'll have to talk.”
“You bet.”
“Like you know anything about motorcycles.”
“Hey babe, that’s not nice. I'm a wealth of knowledge.”
“If you want to talk about cars and bikes, I’m the one to talk to. Emmets more tech than anything.”
“Yeah, All the shiny surfaces attract him,” Edward adds, mocking his brother.
“Hey!”
Laughter filled the air, a warm and infectious sound that wrapped around us like a cozy blanket. A wave of tranquility washed over me as I listened, and I could sense a shift among them. It was as if a small crack had formed in the defenses they had built up in their lives, allowing a glimpse of
vulnerability and connection to shine through.
“And last but not least is Jasper, who I've been told you've met before,” Alice comments as she pushes me toward the empty chair beside him.
The slight blush that enveloped my checks didn’t go unnoticed by the others, but thankfully, no one commented.
“Hey, darling! It’s wonderful to see you again,” Jasper exclaimed, his eyes lighting up warmly.
“It’s great to see you too, Jasper,” I replied, my smile matching his.
Emmett, always the jokester, dramatically threw his hands in the air and said, “ Get a room! We're trying to have a conversation here, you two…” His voice was filled with laughter, and I could only stare in disbelief as Jasper shot him an irritated glare.
“Anyway, Elara, how’s the rain treating you?” he asked, shifting the conversation.
“I enjoy the rain; it brings me comfort," I replied,
“Wow, the complete opposite of Bella, huh? Hahaha!” Emmett chuckled, his laughter infectious. The group shared a quiet laugh, though I could feel the heat of irritation rising in Bella as she shot Emmett an annoyed glare.
“I was told you were new last year, Bella. Where did you move from?” I asked, genuinely interested.
“I came from Phoenix, Arizona,” Bella responded, her tone casual yet hinting at a deeper story behind the move.
“What’s it like there?” Elara inquired, eager to learn more.“It's mostly like a hot and dry desert, so moving here was a big change.”
“uhh, I don't think I could do it there. I'm not good with extreme heat.”
“Yeah, it does get hot there, but you get used to it just like here. I was iffy about it initially, but now it's grown on me.” She hugs Edwards's arm, and they both stare at each other with apparent love in their eyes.
“Get a room, you two,” Rue says, echoing emmets earlier exaggeration.
“So, Elara, tell us about yourself,” Alice prompted, leaning forward with interest.
Elara smiled softly, her eyes glimmering with excitement and nervousness. “Well, I moved here with my aunt and uncle a few weeks ago.”
“Why did you move? If you don’t mind my asking,” Alice continued, her curiosity piqued.
“Oh no, it’s perfectly fine!” Elara assured her. My parents' jobs required them to travel often to distant places, so it was becoming difficult for me to settle down. I decided to come here to finish school in one place instead of constantly moving from city to city.” The cover story I came up with easily spilled from my lips.
Alice nodded sympathetically, her expression understanding. “I can imagine how challenging that must be. It must be tough to be the new kid constantly; I can only imagine how it feels to start over multiple times a year.”
I shrugged slightly, “I don’t mind it as much as you might think.”
Intrigued, Rose tilted her head and asked, “Are you an only child?”
“No, actually,” Elara replied, her expression brightening. “I have two new baby brothers named Vance and Nate. They’re just a few months old, and the family dynamics have certainly changed with them around!” I chuckled, pulling my phone out to show the latest picture I had of the boys
“Aw, they are so cute; I'm sure you miss them,” Alice states.
“I do, but it's okay. I know they are being well taken care of, and besides, my pet takes up more time than he should, so I'm never really that lonely.
“Oh, you have a pet; what animal are they?” Alice asks from her seat next to Rue
“He's an albino ball python.”
“You have a pet snake? Bella asks incredulously.
“Yes, I know the general population doesn't like them, but I found him as a child, and he has been with me since. He's smart, almost mischievously so. I say, showing Bella the various photos I have
“Hey!!!!” I can hear Aurelius complain through our bond.
“He's almost crystal-like; those pretty scales look like thousands of diamonds.
Though Bella sits in aww, I can feel the others stiffen slightly. Hmm
“Let's change the subject, elara. What’s your favorite class so far.?” emmet asks once again, breaking the tension.
“I would have to say history so far.”
“Oh, that's your class with Jasper, right?”
“Alice!” Jasper scolds her silently as he sees the blush form on my cheeks.
“Yes, that is the class I have with Jasper, who has been nothing short of a gentleman to me since he got saddled with me being his desk partner.”
“That’s how my momma raised me, true Southern hospitality.”
“I'm glad it's an attractive feature.”
Alice suddenly Interrupts the staring between Jasper and I
“Hey Elara, you wouldn’t happen to have any plans next weekend, do you?”
“Nope”
“Then you should come to port A with all of us girls; I think we would all love for you to become a friend.”
“I would love that.”
“Hooray, okay, here's my phone number, and we'll finalize all the details.” Exchanging numbers with Alice feels mundane; she even whispered she'd give me the other's numbers later, only if I wanted them.
The rest of lunch is filled with general small talk and some munching, with Bella and I being the only ones eating at the table. All too soon, the bell echoes in the room, signaling the end of the lunch period.
“Oh shoot, there's the bell right when the conversation was getting good, to”
“It’s ok, Alice. Maybe Elara would like to sit with us again,” Jasper asks, showing his beautiful smile.
“Of course I will. Besides Alice, you and I have the next class together; we can continue talking there.”
“Perfect, then let's go.” She hops up quickly, kissing Rue on the cheek before taking my arm in hers to start walking to our class
“Bye, Elara; I'll see you in the last period.” Jasper manages before emmet slings his arm around him in a half-choke with a giant smile on his face.
“Yeah, Elara, he’ll see your last period,” Laughs emmet as he drags Jasper off.
“Bye, Jasper.” you wave after them just in time to see him look back and give a final kilowatt smile.
Walking to my car after school, Aurelius warns me my mate is approaching quickly.
“Hey elara”
“Hey Jasper”
“I wanted to say sorry about lunch.
“Why?”
“I just didn't want you to feel pressured about anything. I know Alice can be pushy sometimes.”
“It was perfect, Jasper. Besides, I needed an excuse to get closer to you anyway.
He smiles at this. “Would you be up for a date this weekend if that's the case?
“Absolutely”
“Good, I got your number from Alice. I'll call you later, okay?
“Okay”
“Good, be safe getting home, darlin.” He says, giving me a kilowatt smile as he walks back to the group. I can see Emmett and Edward giving him a hard time. Emmett even screams out "Bye Elara" to further embarrass his brother, several heads turning at the sound. I smile, laughing at the boy as I wave off the group before stepping into my car and driving off.
Saturday rolls around, and I meet Jasper and the location he sent me. It was the entrance of a nature preserve. Arriving early, nervous yet excited, the gentle breeze plays with my red hair as my heart races at the thought of seeing him. Moments later, he arrives—tousled blond hair and a disarming smile that makes my stomach flutter. He's dressed casually yet stylishly, wearing a fitted navy shirt and dark jeans. With a light jacket thrown over,
“Hey there,” he greeted, his voice warm and inviting.
“Hi!” she replied, trying to contain her excitement.
“I’m glad you could make it.”
He gestured for my hand and placed it on his as we started along the flower-lined path. The sweet fragrance of blooms surrounded us as we exchanged stories about our experiences growing up, though we both had to negate certain aspects. We made each other laugh with anecdotes that revealed our personalities.
Our first stop was an outdoor café, where we ordered hot teas and a small assortment of breakfast pastries to share. Laughter filled the air between us as we played the card games they had scattered about, playfully competing to see who could win the most rounds.
After that, the park had a horse rental that Jasper suggested, stating he had grown up around horses. Having had the same experience, I readily agreed. The mare I chose was a beautiful paint horse, who, unlike my mount at home, was bread-for-speed; this one was bred for a gentle temperament. Jasper chose a deep brown male with a beautiful dark mane. That seemed a perfect companion for Jasper.
Quickly, we saddled up, and off we went, the wind and mist rushing past us. I always felt so free riding my horse. It was my family's favorite pastime; my father disliked flying. (Bad experiences and all that.) It was exhilarating—just living in the moment, exploring hidden nooks of the park, stopping now and then to admire a picturesque view or take silly selfies together.
As twilight descended, we found a quiet spot by a small pond, where the water mirrored the colors of the sunset—sitting side by side on a large rock as the horse grazed nearby. Everything felt so easy around Jasper. Natural as if we had been with each other forever. Before I knew it, the sun began setting. We took the horses back and started walking back to the cafe and exiting, darkness enveloping the park. Jasper reached for my hand, bringing it softly. Our fingers intertwined as warmth spread through me, a blend of excitement and comfort.
The atmosphere grew more intimate as stars began to twinkle overhead. He turned to me, his expression severe yet soft.
“I’ve enjoyed today. You’re not like anyone I’ve met before.”
I felt my cheeks flush. “I could say the same about you, cowboy. This has been amazing.”
“I know we haven't known each other long, but I love you, elara.
“I love you too, Jasper.”
Then would you be willing to be mine, darlin?.” he said, searching her eyes for a response.
“Of course, cowboy,” I replied, smiling brightly.
They lingered a little longer in the moment, sharing glances before he leaned in and kissed me softly, a sweet, tentative kiss that sent butterflies swirling in my stomach. I could tell he was worried about tightening his arms around me, thinking I was a fragile human, but soon, it passed as he gathered me fully in his arms, our chests brushing as the kiss deepened.
The world around seemed to fade, leaving just the two of us under the starlit sky—a perfect ending to a beautiful date.
The remainder of the week spent with the Cullens was fantastic. Each meal was better than the last, and their laughter and engaging conversations warmed my heart. Each sibling was unique, yet they were intertwined in a familial embrace that was hard to resist. I was over the moon with the progress I was making now that I was officially with Jasper. I stayed by his side, slowly becoming part of the group, though I could tell they were still holding back.
It was not surprising, considering their family's secret. I wouldn't tell anyone if I were in their position. I was in that situation myself, but hopefully, soon, I would be able to share everything with them and with them. I just had to make sure they would accept it all.
It’s finally the following Sunday, and I'm ready to experience Midgardian shopping and meet my mate's parents, even though I'm slightly nervous. Arriving at the house, I momentarily admire its beauty, with its all-glass walls and natural light, before walking up to the front door. I go to knock when the door flies open to reveal a smiling Alice.
“Oh, elara, I'm so happy you're here.”
Alice practically pulls me through the house to the kitchen, where the smell of cookies wafts. Behind the kitchen island, a beautiful woman stands; she reminds me of Grandma Frigga, the grace, strength, and kindness radiating off her in the same waves as her beautiful chestnut hair. This must be Esme Cullen, their mom.
“Esme, look who’s here.”
“Oh, hello there, dear. How great to finally meet you. The children haven’t stopped talking about you.”
She crosses over to you and pulls you into a quick Hug.
“Oh, thank you. It's wonderful to meet you, too, and I must say it smells amazing here.”
“Oh, thank you, dear; I'm making cookies for Carlisle's colleges at the hospital.
“Did I hear my name?” A sweet, honeyed voice calls as the head of the family walks up to his wife, embracing her from behind.
“You did, but now that you're here, introduce yourself to the children's new friend.
“Ahh, you must be Elara Mani,” Carlisle greets as he reaches out to shake hands.
“That would be me, sir.”
“Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad the kids have all made a new friend.
“It's my pleasure.
“ I hear you girls are going up to Port Arthur to shop
“Yes, sir. Alice graciously invited me along. I’ve never been up there, so I'm sure it will be exciting.
“Oh course it will elara well go to all my favorite stores and find the perfect outfits.
“What about us, Alice?”
“Oh, there you two are. Where's Bella? Did she skip again.?”
“Yeah, she’s with Edward today. ;)
“Oh, are they that couple?” I ask
“Yes, they are a girl! But Rose can’t say much; she and Emmet are about the same.
“Oh please, rue, like you and Alice aren't. “
I won't say we aren’t. I love my little pixie pie.” Rue rushes over to Alice to kiss her cheek and squeeze her
“Ok, whatever, elara, we're gonna go in my car instead of Alice because, trust me, you don’t want Alice to drive.”
“I heard that Rose,’
“Good, you were supposed to. Come on”
As the girls all say their goodbyes and walk away, I can’t help but turn back to again say goodbye to Carlisle and Esme,
“Thank you so much; it was terrific to meet you both.
“You too, dear.”
“Yes, don’t let those girls bully you into anything you don’t want to do. We thought poor Bella would never go with them again.”
“I'll keep that in mind, Dr.Cullen.”
“You can just call me Carlisle. I'm sure we'll be seeing each other again.
“I hope so.”
Honking from the garage signals my retreat from the loving matriarchs to the hyper vampire waiting for me in the garage.
Esme and Carlisle’s pov
Watching the young girl leave, I turn to my beautiful wife.
“So that's Jasper's mate.
“Yes, and I can already tell she'll be a fantastic mate for him. I’ve never seen him smile as much as he has this past week. He’s finally coming out of that scared shell of his.
“I agree, dear, and all the others seem to like her. I hope Rose stays so open with her and we don’t have another repeat of Bella.
“I believe she will. Elara has a unique air about her, and I’m sure good things will come to our family.”
Taking one last look at the directions the girls went, I silently agreed with my wife as I pulled her into my side.
Elaras pov
The red BMW drives down the street, top-down, and music blasting. The wind flows through my hair as Rose expertly drives into town. All I can hear is the occasional signing from Rue beside me as Alice and Rose go on about Alice’s driving skills. After five minutes, we all pulled into a shopping district, and the day began.
We go to shop after shop, and I now have no doubt that these girls are inhuman. We’ve blown through so many stores, and it's almost shocking. But the fun and light conversation between all of us keeps driving me. Finally, we stopped at the food court. They all get a smoothie, and I find whatever seems most appetizing here.
“So Elara, tell us how it's going with Jasper. Have you done anything yet.?”
Spitting out my drink, I can only mimic a fish caught above water as everyone else slightly laughs at my expression.
“Alice, subtel much.”
“Oh, Rose, I know you wanted to ask. So Elara tells us.”
“Is this appropriate, considering he’s your brother?”
“I mean, he is our brother, but I can tell there is a connection between you, too. Finally, it's nice to pick at him about relationship stuff.”
“Of course.”
“What it is! None of us have seen him smile so much in a long time.”
“Rues right, you’ve truly had an amazing effect on him.”
“What can I say?” I say, shrugging my shoulders and downing my smoothie.
“Aww, she's embarrassed.” Rue smacks Alice’s shoulder at the sound.
“Stop it; go on, elara.”
“He is incredibly kind-hearted and has a beautiful sense of humor that always makes me smile. He is brilliant; I think he knows more about history than our teacher does. (which is evident since he was around during that period). Beyond that, he embodies the qualities of a true gentleman—always respectful and thoughtful in his actions, which is a big bonus; my father taught me I shouldn't accept less since I was little ( you know, being royalty and all) He's truly everything I have ever dreamed of in a partner. (Thank Odin, since he's my soulmate)
“Aww, that's adorable. I’ve got to tell you that he thinks the same.
“Alice, for god's sake, stop.”
“No, Rose. I want my brother and our friend to be together. I know they will be happy, Elara. I want you and Jasper to live happily ever after; it's the least I can do for my future sister.
“Future sister, huh? " I ask even though I'm glad Alice is so gun-ho. It's honestly entertaining watching the others try to reel in her enthusiasm.
“Alice, they just started dating. They're not about to get married. Reel it in a little!!!” Rose scolds the girl again as she pouts and clings to my arm. I just laugh, shielding her from the others, calling her my future sister-in-law, and perking the girl back up.
Sticking her tongue out at Rosalie triumphantly, she stands, whisking us away from the food court to continue the shopping extravaganza.
The air is light, and I only think of how I hope this peace remains. With all of our secrets yet to be revealed, so much could go wrong, but at this moment, we are simply four girls living in the moment.

What are the junior crewmembers of the Stormbringer (Fiona, Noah, Atlas, ect.) like when they're teenagers? By the time they grow up, the barrier would've been down, so what happens to them? How do their personalities differ from the older kids who grew up into teens on the isle?
I'm sorry this isn't every one of the younger kids (not including Isaac who isn't much younger than Hannah Hook) and that this has taken so long because I haven't thought about everyone yet BUT here are the ones I got/thought of.
I'll add more when I think of them:
------------------------------------------------------------
Fiona: She's a total sweetheart but never loses her gothic style.
Rarely loses her temper but can fry you alive with her words when she finally reaches her limit.
She and Noah eventually open up their own little record, flower, and boutique shop.
She also eventually figures out she's from Moors and tells Maleficent she's not special when Maleficent brings up being from Moors.
Levi: He's more mischievous than he was as a toddler though still helpful and can be a bit of a bad influence to his younger 'siblings'.
Loves sailing and wears baggy clothes in an attempt to look smaller. It does not work because once he hits puberty he's over 8 feet.
Also always wears a sailor paper boat hat even though some people find it weird because he doesn't care what they think because Hannah always told him he could be whatever he wanted.
Tommy: She's a sweetheart, has a cool girlfriend, and is over all happy with life.
She has an army of guinea pigs that she loves to death.
She's the go-to witch for her crew still.
She becomes a ROAR/sword fighting instructor and works with animals in her spare time.
Noah: He is still a ball of sunshine but has more of an attitude and is more dramatic/theatrical/sarcastic as he grows.
He will also wear ty dye everything with a black leather jacket full of patches he sewed on himself with no shame. Someone even found him a tye dye jacket he refused to take off.
He's bit whiney about the fact Hannah isn't suicidal enough to agree to him getting a tattoo without his mom's permission but is still very sweet and kind and loving to her and everyone else.
He loves alternative music (like rock, punk, etc) and eventually opens up a record, flower, and boutique shop with Fiona.
He also dyes the tips of his hair pink at some point and will randomly wear fruit/plant costumes because he can. And gets more tattoos.
Is in Haul's band.
Atlas: Wears mainly dark colors.
Gets more of an attitude as he grows up and due to being one of the youngest of the crew he ends up picking up several of the older crew's hobbies/personality traits.
Tends to look most like Hannah when he isn't switching forms to mess with people.
Looks up to Hannah and Haul the most.
You can very much tell what he thinks because he's not good at covering up his expressions. He also has a tendency to stare.
Over all, due to his varying personality traits, mannerisms, and hobbies and the fact he shapeshifts throws people off a lot lol.
Nadia: Avid music lover and dancer.
Very gracious.
Occasionally grants wishes for fun/as a good deed.
Has trouble saying to people.
Loves helping others. Especially her friends.
Willow: She's a sickly hippie and an environmental advocate.
Noor: Avid music lover and dancer.
Very artsy and bold.
Gets along great with Jordan and occasionally helps with their cases.
Finds a way to work with monkeys because they're her favorite animal.
Elara: Mix between an adrenaline junkie and a hippie.
Cheats at poker.
Very mischievous and she has a bit of a temper.
Always daydreaming.
Very good with people and animals, especially kids.
Can always find a lop hole in a contract (which makes people suspect she MIGHT be part fae).
Loves the world and those around her and animals but is not overly judgemental.
Loves art and she takes up gardening as she ages.
Darius: He is very mortified by his whole 'I curse you think' that he used to do as a child.
Can still come off as stuck up and rude to some people but he's not a bad guy. Can be a bit judgemental though.
He's very sophisticated.
He becomes a historian and is hellbent on preserving historical monuments and objects.
Oh and he's still sickly.
Marcys: Chill hippie.
Bit of a philosopher. Wise beyond his years.
Loves parties and hanging out with people.
Bit of a handy man.
He becomes an archery teacher and he learns magic once he discovers he has it.
Lysander: Chill hippie.
Bit of a nature activist. Vegetarian.
Very sweet boy.
Grows out his hair and wears lots of tye dye.
Bit of a philosopher. Wise beyond his years.
Loves parties and hanging out with people.
He becomes a musician.
Beau: Becomes a model.
Grows more comfortable and confident in his own skin.
He's still a very shy person but he doesn't hate himself anymore.
Loves parties and showing off his collections.
He becomes just very eccentric and is actually confident and comfortable now and not just faking it.
Craven: His style is a mixture of punk and kidcore.
He's sweet and shy but will not hesitate to stand up to those who try to abuse their power.
He still very much loves frogs and toads and is very protective of them.
He's not afraid to play 'dirty' to protect those he cares about.
Jolene: She's very protective of her brother still.
She's wild and full of attitude and sarcasm. Taking very much after Darcy.
She's a mixture of goth and punk.
She's very much a wild child and an advocate for those in need.
She's been to TONS of protests and led several of them herself.
She gives no fucks about any one else's opinion (accept maybe her crew).
Ike: He's a bit of a hermit due to being painfully shy. Doesn't like being around people he doesn't know too well.
Is ride or die.
Very artsy.
Would home alone a burglar.
Is a master at sword fighting.
Has a marble collection.
Will snark you to hell and back, and will nag at you (because he cares).
Skelebar: Has had some bad experiences with people and is very insecure.
Covers as much as her skin as she can and keeps her hair in her face.
She's slowly becoming more outgoing but she's still very traumatized from the aforementioned previous bad experiences.
She's very artsy and very affectionate to those she's close to.
Tries to see the best in people.
------------------------------------------------------------
Feel free to add your own headcanons on them. I could use the help.

Elara FrostHeart
My old Hazbin Hotel oc I redesigned. Here's her new design:
Her old design was made in 2021:
Date of Death: 04/15/1912
Nationality: Half Russian/Half British
Age: Deceased at 22
Gender: Female
Birthdate: 03/02/1890
Height: 5'6"
Alignment: Neutral
Sexuality: Undisclosed
Current Occupation: Secretary at Hazbin Hotel
Elara is technically a Overlord but doesn't really do Overlord duties.
Personality: Elara is like a cool grandma. Even though she dresses in the time period she died in she loves modern things. She calm, collected, and carries an air of vintage grace. Adaptable and observant, with a touch of mystery.
Abilities: Ice manipulation, capable of creating intricate and powerful constructs. Basically Elsa. XD
Likes:
• Ice sculptures
• Hardcore Rap music
•Modern Technology
•Late Sister
Dislikes:
• Loud and crowded places
• Trendy fast fashion
• Disrespect towards traditions
•Velvette
Character Quirks:
1. Listens to hardcore rap music, despite her vintage appearance.
2. Mixes slang from the 1910s with modern-day lingo.
3. Often adjusts the collar of her vintage clothing.
4. Speaks with a refined and slightly formal tone.
5. Enjoys recounting stories from her past life aboard the Titanic.
Positive Character Quirks:
1. Always calm under pressure, maintaining a graceful demeanor.
2. Possesses a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
3. Shows genuine interest in learning about modern culture and trends.
4. Demonstrates a nurturing side, often giving advice like a "hip and cool grandma."
5. Has an impeccable memory, often surprising others with her recall of historical and personal details.
Negative Character Quirks:
1. Sometimes comes across as out-of-touch or overly formal due to her old-fashioned speech.
2. Struggles with emotional attachment to her past, making it hard for her to fully adapt to the present.
3. Can be overly critical of disorganization and lack of manners in others.
4. Occasionally uses outdated slang that confuses her modern counterparts.
5. Her fear of drowning can lead to moments of intense anxiety, particularly when dealing with water-related tasks or environments.
Backstory: Elara, a spectral presence from 1912, lost to the icy depths of the Titanic alongside her twin sister. Elara's ethereal essence manifests in the form of a blue polar bear demon, wielding formidable ice powers.
While her twin ventured into modernity, Elara remains adorned in the elegant attire of her bygone era. Elara was the calmer one between her identical twins. Always following and doing whatever her sister wanted. No matter how bad. Her sister and her husband were having "trouble" in their marriage, so they invited Elara with them on the Titanic to help them "fix it."
Long story short, the Titanic crashes and sinks and the two twins end up in hell. Her sibling, once aspiring to be an overlord, met her demise during the extermination, leaving Elara to navigate the chaotic underworld alone.
Elara's journey continues in the afterlife as she finds herself employed as a secretary at the Hazbin Hotel.Elara catches the eye of Alastor, the radio demon, who is drawn to her unique combination of chilling powers and vintage charm.
As she navigates her afterlife, Elara grapples with the memories of her past and the peculiarities of the demonic realm, all while forging unexpected connections in the Hazbin Hotel.

BIOGRAPHY
daedalus and acantha met while they were both visiting brazil and quickly fell in love. the two cupids liked the area so they decided to settle down there and start a family, having several children with icarus being their youngest.
most of icarus' early life was running around the city, trying to help people fall in love though he wasn't ready to do this on his own so one of his parents or older siblings were always chasing the young cupid to try and stop him from creating chaos. his earliest works involved seeing two people who he thought were in love and tried to intervene though he didn't realize one of them was the richest man in sao paulo who had a wife at home.
being trained under his parents, icarus would eventually grow bored and desperately want to explore the world like so many of his older siblings had done decades before. his parents worried icarus wasn't ready but they eventually gave in and let him explore if he promised to write.
the next few decades, icarus would explore the world to try and help people fall in love and during this period he met his first true love. an older man who had a more scorned and negative outlook on the world. the two spent years together and icarus thought he'd met the one, though like most first loves… it didn't last forever and the two went their separate ways. icarus was broken hearted and reclused himself for a period of time, though he'd eventually bounce back. despite the smile on his face, he hasn't fully moved on from this love.
twenty years ago the cupid discovered alexandria, a beautiful town with so much life to it and instantly fell in love. he decided to stay for awhile, occasionally leaving for a few months but always coming back. it's been his most consistent home since sao paulo.

So Let Them Burn review
5/5 stars Recommended if you like: fantasy, dragons, post-revolution stories, sisterly love
I was a little wary coming into this book because the last hyped dragon book I read was...okay but worse the more you thought about it. But my worries were unfounded because this book was amazing! It deserves all the love and is such a good read if you're looking for a new dragon story.
This book is set 5 years after the revolution that liberated San Irie from the colonial-imperialist clutches of Langley and turned one of the main characters, Faron, into a saint. I really like getting stories like this, where the revolution itself is over but new, related problems still arise and the revolutionaries are still haunted by their past. It's such a good setup too because the revolution already happened and so the looming threat and climax of the book isn't going to be a revolution, it's going to be something else.
San Irie is an island nation still recovering from its past trauma. The town Faron and her sister, Elara, grew up in is called Deadegg and for the most part seems to have rebuilt well. The people still have memories of the occupation and war, but by and large things are healing. The capital, Port Sol, has also come a long way toward healing but suffered more during the war due to being the capital and thus there's still further to go. I really liked the descriptions of the island and I definitely felt the tropical lushness and the saw the beautiful beaches Faron and Elara described.
San Iryans have ancestral magic, wherein they can call upon their ancestors for help and power. In some cases the 'astral' is used for long-distance calls but it can also be used to infuse the person with things like medical knowledge (medical summoner), combat prowess, etc. All San Iryans can do this kind of magic, but most can only call on one ancestor at a time and get weakened if they jump between ancestors too quickly/in too short a period. The stronger their powers are, the further back in the ancestral line San Iryans can reach. It was interesting to read about Faron's connection to the gods, because it kind of works like the ancestral connection that all Iryans have, but to a significantly greater degree and the gods can communicate things outside the purview of what the ancestors can.
The Langlish have different magic that seems to be centered on their dragons, though some of it seems internal as well. Riders have a bond with their dragons that lets them communicate with the dragon, their fellow rider, and any other dragons/riders in the same 'den' (i.e., dragon sibling unit). On top of that, relics from dead dragons can be used for gloves, boots, jewelry, etc. and allow the user to have certain powers such as fire summoning. The magic wasn't delved into too much here, but I'm interested to see how that develops in book 2. The main focus on Langlish magic in this book was on the Fury, a kind of mindless rage that slowly takes over a dragon and its riders, and that is posing a newfound threat to both Langley and San Irie.
I found it interesting how San Iryans merged technology with magic to combat the Langlish dragons. The dragons are real flesh-and-blood creatures who bond with two riders to ride into battle (or whatever else they might do). In response to the need to defend against literal fire-breathing dragons, the Iryans used magic and magical metal to create drakes, essentially mechanical dragons that function like warplanes and transports. Due to the magic infused in them, the drakes bond with four people, though they can be functional with fewer. I liked this interplay between magic and technology and found it super interesting.
The character setup is interesting as well, we have the grown child saint who went to war with the power of the gods at her fingertips, the older sister who went to war with her to protect her, the grown child queen who led the revolution, and the boy who betrayed his country to help San Irie to victory. Each of them have a complicated relationship with the past, with each other, and with San Irie, and I enjoyed seeing how these things played out.
Faron is, obviously, the child saint now grown. She's still haunted by the things that happened during the war, and mostly just wants to be left alone to live quietly. She's called a saint by her people, but resents the attention and expectation that puts on her and struggles under the weight of what that means. That being said, Faron is definitely a mischievous one and enjoys sneaking out and using her god-given powers to win petty foot races. She's less serious than her sister and wants to enjoy her life as much as possible. The love for Elara clearly shines through and I liked how, even though she's the younger sibling, she's willing to do whatever it takes to protect Elara. Faron doesn't always make the best decisions, she even makes some that she's aware are questionable in her desire to save her sister. But at the same time, I definitely see how Faron was pushed to do what she did. It's a situation of people not telling her things and so she functions off of half-known facts and the situation may have been avoidable if she'd just been told everything from the get-go.
Elara is the older sibling who came with Faron when she went to war. As such, she has much of the same haunting memories from the revolution, though instead of wanting a quiet life, Elara wants to join San Irie's army in the air division and continue to protect the island nation and its people the way she did as a child. She's more serious and studious than Faron, but due to her not being a saint, actually has a bigger friend group and is able to get out a bit more. Elara's hopes of being in the Iryan military are crushed though when she unexpectedly bonds with a Langlish dragon. I definitely felt bad for Elara considering everything she was going through. Not only did she have to give up her dreams, but she also had to go to Langley to train, again not only leaving everything but also entering the heart of the empire and training school that tried to crush her country. The experience was definitely isolating for her, but Elara was able to make some friends and allies while there, and she even found beauty in her dragon and their bond (and her bond, both magical and romantic, with her dragon's other rider).
Reeve is Langlish and the son of the general who led the army against San Irie. But Reeve is also the child who stole battle plans and ran across the front lines to deliver them to Faron, Elara, and the San Iryan queen, Aveline. Combined with Faron's abilities, knowing the battle strategies helped end the war and bring peace to San Irie, but rather than be hailed a hero, Reeve is still looked at by most as a spy playing the long game. Reeve actually seems mostly okay with this and he has a surprisingly steady and well-adjusted head about everything that's gone on in San Irie during and after the war. He seems to get that even though he helped win the war most San Iryans see anyone Langlish as a threat and a memory of both the war and the colonialism that precedes it and seems to respect that view and the fact that people act out when still healing. I was impressed by his fortitude, though at times it fringes on self-destructive and he perhaps needs to learn that there's a line between being respectful of people's pain and allowing people to hurt him on purpose. Reeve is more Elara's friend than Faron's, though the two grow closer as they try and find a way to bring Elara home.
Signey is Elara's dragon bond partner and is definitely a hard one to get to know at first. She's closed off and acts kind of mean to Elara when they're first bonded, but over time the two grow closer as they unite to uncover what General Warwick is hiding. I wasn't a fan of Signey at first because of how wretched she acted toward Elara, who naturally was upset about being torn away from her life and curious about everything in Langley since...you know....she'd never been there. But Signey cleans up her act and actually becomes a great friend and defender of Elara. I liked getting to know more of Signey's background and finding out she's more of a fighter and revolutionary than it first appeared. Her and Elara's flirtations were cute as well.
Even though Faron and Elara are separated by an ocean, the two are largely working toward the same goal. Faron wants to bring Elara home safe (and break her bond to the dragon) and Elara wants to be able to return home, though she's also interested in the Fury. Both of them discover things in parallel that threaten to upend the world, and magic, as they know it.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it! The ending was poetical and I look forward to seeing how things progress in book 2. It's a shame I got this the month it came out, now I have to wait a whole year for the next one!

Shadows and Starlight
Book 63: Aurora's Magical Baptism
-
Today was a very special day in the forest of Ebonvale.
Was it somebody's birthday? No.
Was it a holiday? No.
Was it a tax-free spending week? No… unfortunately.
The reason why today was so special was because baby Aurora was getting baptized in a ceremony at The Enchanted Chapel of Ebonvale Forest.
Malakar had been planning this ceremony for a while now and the grand day finally arrived.
The sorcerer stood near the entrance of the church cradling little Aurora in his arms. The tiny baby looked around with curiosity. Instead of her usual burgundy dress, pale yellow socks, and leather camel brown turn-around shoes, Aurora dawned a shimmering white and gold baptism dress, little white frilly socks, white Mary-Jane shoes, and a delicate white and gold bonnet that had been in Malakar’s family for generations.
Malakar couldn't believe how beautiful his little one looked. She looked like an angel that had stepped out of heaven's gates.
As the guests began to arrive, Father Bartholomew, the Faun priest of the church, appeared at the entrance to greet them.
“Welcome, welcome,” Father Bartholomew called out, his voice echoing through the church. “It is a joy to see so many gathered here today for this wondrous event.”
Elara and Thorne, Malakar’s parents, arrived first. Elara, with her light brown and silver streaked hair tied back and robes that seemed to shimmer like the night sky, smiled warmly. “Ah, Malakar, my son,” she greeted, giving him a gentle hug. “It feels like only yesterday that we stood in this very church for your baptism.”
Thorne, tall and dignified with a neatly trimmed beard, nodded in agreement. “Indeed. And now we are here for our granddaughter. How time flies.”
Aurora giggled as her grandfather tickled her cheek.
Malakar’s older twin siblings, Arianne and Aric, followed close behind. Arianne, dressed in emerald robes, leaned in to kiss Aurora’s forehead. "We're in the presence of an angel. Don't you agree, brother?"
Aric chuckled, his eyes twinkling. “Indeed we are."
Cedric, the youngest brother, bounded up to them, his energy palpable. “'Ello brother! I brought Aurora something truly fantastic!” he exclaimed, holding up a bath toy in the shape of Noah's Ark featuring ten toy animals (which were organized into pairs of two; two elephants, two giraffes, two lions, two tigers, and two monkeys).
“Cedric, we’re here for a christening, not a parade,” Arianne said gently, though she couldn’t help but smile at her little brother's antics.
"I know," said Cedric, "but, since we're here, I wanted my christening gift to be something special that she could play with."
Malakar took the gift in his free hand and smiled, "It's a wonderful gift Cedric, thank you."
Their grandparents, Odelia and Artemis, followed next. Odelia’s wise eyes sparkled behind her spectacles, and Artemis’ silver hair was tied into a neat bun. They greeted everyone with warm hugs and whispered blessings for Aurora. Behind them, great-grandmother Isolde made her way. Even though she was over a thousand years old, she could walk faster than a cheetah could run.
“Ah,” Isolde said with a voice that carried the weight of centuries. “Is that an angel I see?”
Aurora giggled at her great-great-grandmother.
Corvus, Malakar's pet raven, cawed from his perch high above, seeming to nod in agreement. Pippin, the little mouse and the newest member of the family stood by Corvus and squeaked with excitement.
Both of them looked dapper with red bow ties around their necks.
Grimble, Flord, and Tibber, Malakar’s henchmen, shuffled in next, each with a wide grin. “I love moments like this!” Grimble gushed, his eyes welling up with tears.
"Yeah," Flord said, his voice choking up.
"Agreed," croaked Tibber.
"Love," said the three henchmen, "Not like... love!"
The three of them burst into tears.
Corvus shook his head in dismay.
Soon, the sorcerers from The Obsidian's Keep entered, their robes flowing like shadows in the sunlight. Two of them, Vespera and Xanthar, approached Malakar with smiles. Vespera, with her dark hair and striking violet eyes, spoke first.
“We are honored to be chosen as Aurora’s godparents, Malakar,” she said. “We will guide her with wisdom and protect her with our magic.”
Xanthar, tall and imposing with a deep voice, nodded in agreement. “She shall have all the protection and blessings our magic can bestow.”
Father Bartholomew cleared his throat, signaling the start of the ceremony. “Please, everyone, gather near the altar,” he called out. “We are here to welcome Aurora into the circle of magic and light, and to bless her with all that is good and pure in this world and beyond.”
The congregation moved closer, forming a semi-circle around the altar. Aurora looked around with wide eyes.
Father Bartholomew began with a prayer, his voice resonating through the ancient church. “We call upon the powers of light and magic, upon the spirits of the air and earth, to bless this child. To guide her path, to protect her heart, and to nurture her spirit.”
He dipped his hand into a bowl of clear, enchanted water and gently anointed Aurora’s forehead. Aurora blinked, staring up at the priest with wide, curious eyes.
“Now, let the magical blessings begin,” Father Bartholomew announced, stepping back.
Elara and Thorne stepped forward first. Elara raised her hands, and a soft glow emanated from her palms. “I bless Aurora with wisdom beyond her years, so that she may always know the truth in her heart,” she intoned.
Thorne, holding a small willow branch, touched it to Aurora’s tiny hand. “And I bless her with strength and resilience, so she may weather all the storms that come her way.”
Arianne and Aric stepped up next. Arianne held a small vial of sparkling liquid. “I bless her with compassion, that she may be a light in dark times,” she whispered.
Aric, smiling, conjured a gentle breeze that made Aurora giggle. “And I bless her with joy and laughter, for those are the truest forms of magic.”
Cedric, unable to contain himself, added, “And I bless her with adventure!” He tossed a small handful of enchanted dust, which sparkled in the air like fireworks.
Great-grandmother Isolde raised her hand and softly chanted, “I bless her with the wisdom of the ages, and the power to shape her own destiny.”
Vespera and Xanthar then stepped forward. Vespera placed her hand over Aurora’s heart and whispered, “I bless her with love, that she may always feel the warmth of those who cherish her.”
Xanthar, placing his hand on Aurora’s head, said, “I bless her with courage, that she may face every challenge with a fearless spirit.”
One by one, the sorcerers added their blessings, each one imbuing the air with a different hue of magic. Aurora’s dress shimmered, reflecting the colors of the magic around her.
Father Bartholomew concluded, “Aurora, child of light and magic, we welcome you into the ancient and sacred circle. May you grow in strength, wisdom, and wonder, and may your days be filled with light.”
The congregation erupted in soft cheers and applause. Malakar, holding Aurora close, felt a rare tear at the corner of his eye. He kissed her forehead gently and whispered, “Welcome to our world, my little star.”
Aurora cooed softly in response, her dark olive eyes sparkling in the light of the church as if already understanding the love and magic that surrounded her.

MULTIMUSE QUESTIONAIRE
RULES: Answer the questions with the Muses that would best fit the answers. Bonus if you give details why.
1) Rank your softest Muse and your toughest Muse. (Personality-wise) I think for softest it would be a tie for Molly or Alexandra. Alexandra is my shy, hopeless romantic book worm while Molly is more extroverted. Still, they're both incredibly sensitive.
Toughest is probably Daniel. He just locks down his emotions lol.
2) Which Muse would blow through $1000 quickly? Delilah for sure. She's just from a very well off family, she that doesn't necessarily seem like a large amount to her.
3) Do any of them have nicknames? Is there a meaning behind them?
Alice - "Allie." She hates the name Alice. Atticus - "AJ." Shortened from Atticus James just because it's a mouthful.
Quite a few of the others have nicknames that are just shortenings of their names.
4) Are any of them up-to-speed on the latest trends? Anyone more old school? Johanna, Delilah, Grant, and Nicholas are up to speed on the latest trends. Carsyn couldn't care less, and same for Daniel.
5) Who has the best relationship with their siblings? Alex, Jo, and AJ. They're a very tightknit family.
6) Karaoke night! Who is likely to grab the mic first and bust out a tune? Probably Elara. She loves performing.
7) Who is least likely to enter a beauty pageant/model? Delilah for sure
8) If your Muses visited a haunted house where actors scare you, who would panic and who would be unfazed? Panic would be Isabelle. Unfazed would be Lucie or Lyra.
9) Are any of your Muses particular about taking certain modes of transportation? Nicholas and Grant like driving nice cars but that's it.
10) Share a little-known fact about any Muse. Raven picks at her lips when she's nervous.

The raven and the vampire
Ch6
A jasper x oc story that is a marvel and twilight crossover.
Everything was set. All of Bella's family had been convinced to go elsewhere. While she lied about staying with Alice and I for a girls weekend. I in turn lied to Jasper that my “aunt and uncle” and I were meeting up in New York with my father, mother and siblings since I hadn’t seen them in forever. The guilt of what I'm about to do eats away inside me. The plan had been made by Bella, Edward and jacob. Bella would be carried up the mountain by jacob to disguise her scent while alice rue and Rosalie spread her scent around the woods to attract the newborn army to the preordained field for the battle. Jacob and another wolf would protect Bella while the others all fought the army. In fact I was leaving now for the imaginary airport I was going to. Jasper bella and the others seeing me and my family off. Jasper has barely left my side sense he came to get me this morning for breakfast. The others just smile solemnly at me, more focused about what is to come.
“Jasper please, please be safe. “
“I will darling, I promise you, I will always come back to you”.
He leans down connecting our foreheads as he breathes me in. The words that I'm staying to help are on the tip of my tongue but after speaking with grandmother frigga about how fickle the future can be I keep them clamped down in hopes to not change the fates.
“Jasper, I want you to hear me when I say this. Everything is going to be fine. And anything that happens now is meant to I just pray that at the end of it we all come out unscathed.”
He looks at me puzzled but accepts my words with a nod. I hear Luke say it's time to go, and turn my head briefly but Jasper's cold hand on my cheek turns me back. He looks through me with his topaz eyes and gently brings me to him for a kiss. His lips are so soft on mine. As I take him in his strong grip on my waist and tender touch on my check. All I can do is pray to all the gods above that after tomorrow he still kisses me this way, or at all.
I pulled away tears burning behind my eyes, his thumb gently wiping them as he ushered me to the car.
“I love you elara.” He says in a gently soft voice for my ears only.
“I love you to jasper. I love you so much. Please please be safe. All of you be safe,” I shout out to the others behind him. I enter the car behind Mila as Lucas goes to drive off to our imaginary destination.
“All will be well my princess, they will understand in time.” Mila tries to reassure me
“From your lips to Odin's ears”
A ways away from the cullens estate I finally step out of the car.
“Are you sure about this my lady?”
“Yes Lucas, I want to make sure that anyone amongst the new borns knows there’s another way, i have to see if I can stop some unnecessary bloodshed.”
I send out my power a purple butterfly leaving my palm and darting up into the sky to find victoria and deliver my message to her.
Victorias pov
“Riley, is everyone ready?”
“Yes Victoria, they are all ready to attack.”
“Good we need to start a move on if we are to make it there on time.”
Victoria is ready to finish out her revenge. Already smiling at the thought of Edward's troubled face as she kills Bella in front of him when a purple butterfly flies into the camp. Its glowing attracts everyone as they all clamor for it. It lands on one of the metal canister scattered around the dump their using for hiding
“Victoria what the hell is that”
“I don't know”. She walks towards it slowly, just as she gets in range to grab it it explodes leaving a piece of paper in its wake.
“Riley grab it, tell me what it says” The young male walks up quickly slipping the paper away,
“It says if any of you value your life then turn back now and forget about this battle. Wait could this be from the Cullens, How?”
“I don't know but it doesn’t matter even if they added a new member to their stupid family we'll kill them all just the same.” Victoria screeches, grabbing the note and ripping it to shreds.
Jaspers pov
Sending off my mate killed me but her getting hurt would completely destroy me. Edward at least was able to watch over his mate himself but i had t trust that the newborns wouldn’t find her. Alice consoles me as we all decided to go hunting wanting to be in peak conditon before the battle now all I can do is wait. The sun slowly starts to appear over the horizon as the newborns and Victoria finally arrive.
Mid morning, a quick chat with Edward lets us know that even though the night was long everything and everyone is in place. We march along the trees to the destined location however arriving at the destination a disntinct purple gleam is seen on the horizon, we approach the shield slowly the purple magic shimmering in front of us.
“What is going on? What is this?” Rue asks
“Could this be a power one of the newborns possesses or something. Emmet chimes in.
“I don't know EM but if it is this will change everything. we need to regroup with the wolves and try something else,” carlisle always the leader he is states
“Then let’s get back to edward and bella and see what we can do and do it quickly.” Im about to turn when elaras voice comes from behind me
“It’s alright everyone”
All Heads turn to see elara standing there behind them
“elara how the hell, what are you doing here? Come on, I have to get you somewhere safe.” Right as I go to embrace my mate and hopefully whisk her away my hand goes right through her.
“What the hell.”
The illusion sadly smiles. “It’s ok Jasper, everything is going to work out. The barrier you're seeing is of my own creation. I wanted to make sure you all were in the correct area before I brought you any closer.”
The copy vanishes as the magical barrier slowly withdraws further from the woods. The cullens and the pack slowly being brought into the clearing foretold for the battle to come. A figure of a lone girl sits in the middle of the clearing a silver dog sitting next to her.
I rushes the Barrier to then be bounced off like a rubber band, quickly recovering, “elara elara,!” I yell fists banging on the barrier
“It’s ok jasper im right here”
Again we all spin around as the illusion of elara appears once more
“What is happening, how are you doing this?”
“Jasper, I'm so sorry. There’s so much I need to tell you, to tell all of you but after seeing that possible future that Alice saw I could no longer sit back. Even with the packs help none of you deserve to have this happen, Not when I can end this here and now.”
“elara what are you talking about.”
“Jasper, my love, my stars…….I'm not human, I never have been. I'm something else entirely……. To put simply, I come from a very powerful family and I have more experience in battle then I probably need and I was raised to protect the people I love and that is exactly what I'm doing.”
An orange spark is seen from the left and a very confused Edward, Jacob, Seth and Bella appearing seemingly out of thin air.
“What the hell.” Edward asks confusingly.
“Sorry I didn’t want to leave all of you up there in the cold. Victoria and her army will be here soon.”
“elara I don't know what’s going on dear but please let us help.” Esme chimes from beside her husband. All the current party now staring at the illusion.
“I'm sorry esme, I can’t do that right now.“
“Elara!”
With a sad smile i watch as the double disappears into purple shimmers, The sound of footsteps replacing it as Luke and Mila step out of the woods wearing armor of some kind
“Lucas?”
“Hello Carlisle, hello everyone.”
“What’s going on? What is elara doing? You have to help me get to her.” I plead desperately.
“I'm sorry but I am not the one to explain, that is something milady must do. For now I must do my duty and protect her highness. Please excuse me. Luke bows and steps through the barrier, Mila just smiling next to him Just as the others and I are about to run after them we hear the sound of many footsteps now approaching the other side of the clearing.
Elaras pov
Aurelius' head sits in my lap still in his husky form, his fur soothing as I hear the new vampires march into the clearing, the bright red hair sticking out at the front of the group. A low growl sounds from my lap Aurelius sensing the evil coming on the air. I can still sense everyone at the barrier. I know I should let them in but I can’t shake that horrible sight of Jasper getting hurt from my mind. I have to try my way first before anything happens to him. Standing Aurelius takes guard next to me,
“Glad to see you all could make it.”
“Who the hell are you” the sound spews from victoria's mouth
“My name is elara”
“She’s the one that has been around Bella lately, I've also seen her with the blonde Cullen.” Riley states from next to victoria
“Ahhh a new Cullen pet, i must say im impressed especially at whatever this is around us. But this has nothing to do with you.”
“I'm afraid it does, you’ve become a threat to people I love. So I will give you a chance. You and anyone in your group hear me now. There are other options. You don't need to be like her, there is a better way of life for you.”
“Ok stop.! Victoria all but yells. “What makes you think you can come in here and change anything? All I see is one tiny human. And over 35 of us. What will you do?”
“Human? When did I say I was human.”
For the first time in front of everyone I let the midgardian glamor fade. My true self being revealed in my armor, the light reflecting off the gold accents as my jacket flows in the light wind, ready to leave these cretins in the dust.
The breeze howls through the trees and I can tell the simple show of magic has confused everyone around.
“What’s wrong Victoria, did that simple display shock you? Wait for this one.” I turn to Aurelius and pet him and with a flip of my wrist I break the magic on Aurelius, Gone is the small husky and in his place stands the 10 ft tall wolf. Growling in agitation.
“This is my last warning to all of you. None of you need to fight this battle, it was not your choice to become hat she has made you, but it is your choice how you choose to go about your new existents”
I see many of the new vampires stare and turn to each other Victoria and Riley telling them to shut up and stay silent. They all seem to comply except for a young girl in the back. Her long brown hair flows in the breeze as er big red doe eyes fill with terror. I can tell she’s different than the others as she quickly runs over to me before either Riley or Victoria can catch her.
“Please please dont hurt me i didnt do anything”
“Hush now im not going to hurt you. I can tell your different from them, do you want a different path” I ask the trimblin girl she simply nods. Putting my hand on her shoulder i turn her towards esme instructing Aurelius to look after her and make sure she mad it to the Cullen matriarch’s side.
“Aurelius here will protect you, I promise once this is all over you’ll be well taken care of.” The young girl turns back frightened to look at Victoria one last time
“She can’t do anything to you anymore. I swear on my name if you choose the Cullens you will have a good life.”
“I, I, want to b happy”
“Good” i push her towards Aurelius the beast quickly crouching down as i urge her onto his back, before they take off back towards the Cullens home.
TRAITOR!!!!! Riley yells after her
“Now tell me, how is that young girl a traitor when she has done nothing other than being one of your many victims” Murmers go through their numbers
“Whether she stays with us or you it doesn’t matter all of you will be dead by the end of the day especially you.” I simply smile at her shaking my head at her poor attempts of self control, summoning my golde staff i draw Aline in the dirt infront of me.
“If. You choose not to take my offer as the girl has I will cut you down were you stand a burn the pieces.’ Adding to my threat i materialize and wooden pier quickly setting it on fire.”
“You’re going to cut us. Into pieces with what the stick in your hand. Please all of these little illusions of yours are impressive I’ll give you that but you wont stop us. You two kill her.” Victoria shouts ordering two newborns that were at the front of the group forward.” They were both tall burly males slightly bigger than Emmet. I guess she thought to intimidate me,which is laughable. The two advance quickly, i hear yelling off to my side where jasper is banging on the barrier. Fear evident in his eyes. I just smile at him as the new borns finally come not range. With a quick turn of my hand the blade of my scythe comes into existents. My blade comes up to bock their punches the strength sending me back slightly, but i recover quickly.
Spinning the staff around to bring it across the one on my left torso i go to lock another punch from the other before bring my scythe across his neck. The air is still as the two newborns fall to pieces, their bodies slumping hardly to the ground before I throw the pieces. Into the raging fire.
I see victoria is shaken as many of the others are but she refuses to back down. I see her whisper to Riley as a look of determination comes across his face the battle call of kill her being yelled out.
I take out a few at a time dodging and weaving through the bodies, i know im out numbered and that i should drop the field but I can’t.
“Princess drop the field, you may be strong but it is only right to let the others join you in this battle.” Lucas states over our telepathic link
“I can’t yet i need t thin them out a little more.
“Elara let me in.” I hear jasper pounding away on the barrier
My distraction costs me as on of the newborns lands a hit to my side winding me, crashing sideways into the dirt
“PRINCESS! Lucas yells once more
“Fine” I jump out of the pack quickly. Advancing on me to the the other side of the field and withdraw my magic.i watch then as the cullens and the pac rush in to the fray. Taking down newborns as they went. I see emmetswinging bodies around, Paul and him working together to dispatch bodies as quickly as possible, Alice and ruework in tandem as where rose and esme each taking on a hand full of newborns. I try to quickly set all the bodies ablaze as they go.
As the newborn army puts up a fight I see Riley and victoria running around not really helping their army simply trying to find openings to do damage to the cullens or the pack.
“VICTORIA”
Her head whips towards me a snarl filling her face and she rushes towards me.
“YOU. You ruined EVERYTHING.”
“You did this to yourself Victoria,”
“I will get my revenge even if it’s not today i swear to you the cullens will get whats coming to them.”
All i see is her red hair filling me vision as the thoughts of how she could have cost me everyone I had come to love, and the want to simply cut her down and be done with this mess is not enough anymore. Dropping my scythe i reach for my powers the purple glow of the enveloping my hands and rushing towards victorias form like a bolt of lightning. The had sharp edges of ice leaving a path in their wake before crashing into her freezing her in her stride
The chaos around me is now silent, the battle finally ending. I look up and everyone is staring at me, different looks and emotions crossing each of their faces. But all i feel is indifference enveloping me. Piking up my scythe i slowly stride towards Victoria’s frozen form. Raising my arms and with one final swing i shatter Victoria into a million pieces .
“Elara?” i her jasper gently callout as im about to walk towards him till i hear Alice gasp out. All heads turning towards her
The volutori is all she says. All the Cullens immediately stiffening back up
Who?”
Theres no time carlisle explains “we need to get this fixed quickly Sam the pack needs to go now the volturi will not respect our treaty. Elara i dont know if you can but can you make the are look as though we where the. Only ones fighting, the volturi dont need to know about the pack or you.”
Everyone stares at me waiting for my answer, i simply look at Carlisle wanting to know what has him so frazzled. But all i see in his eyes is darkness and death, so i simply nod summoning my aesre it sweeps over the scene cleaning up the mess or the battle.
“Elara?” esme ask her face motherly as everything that needs to be said sits silently in the air.
I simply nod and set to work erasing all signs of me and Aurelius. The former coming up to me shrinking back into his husky form.
“I agree but not without her” i point over to the newborn girl from earlier
“If these people are as dangerous as you say i doubt they’d spare anyone they do not currently recognize”
“You would be correct” carlisle states next to his wife
“Come.” I stick my hand out for the young one. She timidly takes it
“I will take her back to your home and make sure she’s ok.”
“Rue go with her just in case you’ll be able to look after the girl well” esme adds quickly
“Ok” rue runs over and just kinda stands next to me intimidation rolling off her in waves. I put my hand on each off their shoulders preparing to teleport.
elara wait is all jasper can get out before i strike him with my stare. And vanish.

"Malleable Time and Twin Universes: The Quest for Equilibrium" This is the summary of your work so far: The human provides an outline of a fantasy story involving parallel universes, conflict between two groups, and an alternate history. The AI expands on this outline, describing a world where time is malleable and two parallel universes coexist in uneasy harmony. In one universe, the Resistance led by Victor aims to change history for a more equitable world, while in the other, the Protectors led by Elara wish to preserve their history. Alex and Dr. Sinclair discover a portal connecting the two worlds, leading to conflict and an uncertain future. The AI then creates a few paragraphs with dialogues under 250 words. In these paragraphs, Alex and Dr. Sinclair step through a portal into a parallel world where they encounter a conflict between two groups. They uncover secrets, forge alliances, and face unimaginable challenges in a world where time is malleable and history hangs delicately in the balance. The human then asks to create a few paragraphs with dialogues under 250 words. In these paragraphs, Alex and Dr. Sinclair encounter the heart of the conflict, and the secrets of the two groups begin to unravel. The AI expands the story based on the following prompt: In the heart of the conflict, Alex and Dr. Sinclair discovered that Victor and Elara were siblings separated by fate. Their shared past revealed the reason behind their opposing ideologies - Victor sought change for a more equitable world, while Elara wanted to preserve the history she knew. The siblings' bond forced both groups to reassess their positions, leading to a fragile truce. However, time was still malleable, and the balance of history remained uncertain. In the following paragraphs, the malleable nature of time continued to affect the balance of history, making Alex and Dr. Sinclair cautious but resolute as they understood the weight of their actions and decisions. They vowed to continue their quest for equilibrium, knowing that the future was in their hands, and the outcome would be shaped by their choices.
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting an ethereal glow over the town of Willowbrook. Alex and Dr. Sinclair stood by the window, gazing at the breathtaking view. "Do you think we're alone in this universe?" Alex asked, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. "No," Dr. Sinclair replied, turning to face her. "There are countless parallel universes out there, each with its own version of history and reality." He paused, considering his words. "Imagine if we could travel between them... the possibilities would be endless." Suddenly, a blinding light filled the room, and a mirror materialized before them. Alex reached out to touch it, her fingers barely grazing the surface. "This is it," she whispered, her voice echoing with awe. "The Mirror World." Dr. Sinclair nodded solemnly. "We must tread carefully. This world is not our own, and the people who live here are unaware of us." He glanced at his watch, realizing the gravity of their situation. "Time is running out. We need to find a way back before we're discovered." In the Mirror World, a figure stood in a dimly lit room, staring at an old, dusty map. Victor studied it intently, his mind racing with thoughts of the Resistance and their quest for change. "I must find them," he muttered to himself, his eyes locked on the map. Meanwhile, Elara led her group of Protectors through a dense forest, their mission clear: preserve the history they knew and loved. They were determined to defend their universe against all odds. "We're almost there," she whispered, her voice carrying determination. As both groups closed in on their destinations, tensions mounted. Alex and Dr. Sinclair, aware of the impending confrontation, prepared themselves for a battle they never anticipated. The two worlds collided, setting off a chain of events that would forever change them all. Dr. Sinclair and Alex stood in front of the ancient mirror, both feeling the strange energy it radiated. The room was filled with anticipation as they knew that stepping through could change their lives forever. "Are you sure about this, Alex?" Dr. Sinclair asked, his voice wavering slightly. "I've seen the evidence," Alex replied confidently. "This mirror can take us to another world." Taking a deep breath, they both stepped forward and found themselves in a completely different universe. The air was thick with magic as they marveled at their new surroundings. It wasn't long before they met Victor, the leader of the Resistance, who explained that this parallel world had been shaped by history taking a different course. "We need your help," Victor said earnestly. "The Protectors are trying to keep us trapped in this alternate reality, and we must change it back." Alex and Dr. Sinclair agreed to assist the Resistance, and together they began to uncover the secrets of their new world. They soon encountered Elara, the leader of the Protectors, who was determined to preserve her universe at all costs. "We can't let you interfere with our history," Elara warned. "Our world is just as real and valuable as yours." Despite their differing goals, Alex and Dr. Sinclair found themselves drawn to both leaders, struggling with the implications of their choices. As the tension mounted between the Resistance and the Protectors, a major battle loomed on the horizon. With their newfound friends caught in the crossfire, Alex and Dr. Sinclair knew they had to make a decision – and fast. "We must find a way to end this conflict," Dr. Sinclair declared. "For the sake of both worlds." As the battle raged around them, Alex and Dr. Sinclair fought alongside their friends, hoping to forge a path towards peace. But as the dust settled and the smoke cleared, the fate of both universes remained uncertain, leaving readers to wonder what would become of the characters they had come to know and love. Alex stumbled upon an ancient mirror, hidden away in his grandmother's attic. Curiosity got the better of him, and he approached it cautiously. As he gazed into the reflection, he felt a strange sensation, like his body was being pulled through a void. Suddenly, he found himself standing in a completely different place - a world that seemed strangely familiar yet vastly different from his own. Dr. Sinclair, an experienced historian and scientist, had dedicated her life to studying the possibility of parallel universes. When she heard about Alex's incredible story, she knew she had to investigate further. Together, they ventured into this alternate reality, where history had taken a drastically different course. In this new world, they encountered two opposing groups: the Resistance and the Protectors. The Resistance, led by Victor, sought to change their reality, while the Protectors, under the command of Elara, wished to preserve their own universe's history. As Alex and Dr. Sinclair observed the escalating conflict between these groups, they realized that they had stumbled upon a momentous event in the history of multiple universes. "We can't just stand by and let this happen," Dr. Sinclair whispered to Alex. "We have to find a way to stop them." As they watched the two factions prepare for a major battle, Alex and Dr. Sinclair knew that their decision had far-reaching consequences - not only for the alternate reality they were now in, but also for their own universe's future. In a thrilling climax, both universes witnessed the monumental clash between the Resistance and the Protectors. The outcome of this battle would shape the course of history for all parallel worlds. However, as the dust settled and the smoke cleared, the fate of both realities remained uncertain, leaving readers to imagine their own conclusions. Alex stared at the shimmering portal before him, his heart pounding in his chest. He had been searching for this moment all his life, and now it was finally here. With a deep breath, he stepped through the portal, finding himself in a world where history had taken a different course. "Welcome, Alex," Dr. Sinclair greeted him from across the room, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "This is truly the Mirror World." As they explored the alternate reality, Alex and Dr. Sinclair came across two groups locked in conflict: the Resistance, led by a charismatic man named Victor, who sought to change their reality, and the Protectors, led by a fierce warrior named Elara, who wished to preserve the history of their universe. "We must help them find a way to coexist," Alex whispered to Dr. Sinclair, concern etching his face. "Their worlds are too entwined to simply walk away." "I agree, but it won't be easy," Dr. Sinclair replied, her voice low and full of determination. "We must tread carefully, for both universes hang in the balance." As they worked to mediate the conflict, Alex and Dr. Sinclair found themselves caught up in a whirlwind of emotions and danger. The climax of their efforts came in a massive battle between the two groups, leaving both worlds uncertain and hanging by a thread. As they stood amidst the wreckage, Alex turned to Dr. Sinclair, his voice barely above a whisper. "We've done what we can, but the outcome remains uncertain." Dr. Sinclair nodded, her eyes reflecting the same uncertainty. "The future of both worlds lies in the hands of those who inhabit them, and only time will tell what comes next." The sun dipped low in the sky, casting a golden glow over the city. In this parallel universe, history had taken an alternate course. The Resistance, led by Victor, sought to change their reality, while the Protectors, under Elara's command, wished to preserve their own world's history. As tension mounted between the two groups, Alex and Dr. Sinclair found themselves caught in the midst of a brewing conflict. "We need to make them understand," Alex whispered to Dr. Sinclair, "that our worlds can't afford this war." Dr. Sinclair nodded, his eyes scanning the horizon as the sound of distant clashes grew nearer. "It may already be too late," he murmured, gripping his pistol tightly. "But we must try." As they ventured deeper into enemy territory, the two stumbled upon a secret meeting between Victor and Elara. The air was thick with tension as they listened in on their conversation. "We can't let them change our history," Victor growled, his voice fierce. "It is our duty to protect what we know." "And we won't allow you to destroy ours!" Elara retorted, her eyes flashing with determination. Alex and Dr. Sinclair exchanged glances, knowing they had to intervene. With a surge of courage, Alex stepped forward. "Please," he pleaded, "you don't have to be enemies. We can find a way to coexist." The two leaders stared at him, their expressions unreadable. Dr. Sinclair took a deep breath and joined Alex in his appeal. "Think of the lives you're risking," he urged, "and consider what we could achieve together." As the words hung in the air, a heavy silence settled over the group. The potential for change was palpable, but so too was the uncertainty of their future. In a world where time is a malleable concept and the boundaries between realities are as thin as the veil of dreams, two parallel universes coexist in uneasy harmony. One universe, let's call it Earth-A, is governed by the Resistance, led by the enigmatic Victor. Their mission: to alter the course of history in a bid to create a more equitable world. In this alternate reality, the power dynamics are flipped, and the Protectors, under Elara's guidance, are the oppressed. They strive to preserve their universe's history at all costs. In Earth-B, Alex and Dr. Sinclair stumble upon a hidden portal that bridges the gap between these two worlds. As they traverse this newfound connection, they find themselves embroiled in a conflict neither understood nor wanted. Their initial encounters are marked by shock and disbelief as they witness the stark contrasts in their respective realities. Alex, an idealist at heart, is drawn to the Resistance's cause, while Dr. Sinclair, a scientist through and through, focuses on understanding the science behind this miraculous phenomenon. In an attempt to mediate the conflict between the Resistance and the Protectors, Alex and Dr. Sinclair propose a truce, a dialogue across dimensions. However, their efforts are met with skepticism and resistance from both sides. The tension mounts as the two universes inch closer towards a climactic confrontation, leaving both worlds uncertain about their future. In a twist of fate, the battle lines are blurred, and the outcome hangs precariously in balance, as the characters grapple with the moral implications of altering history and risking their own existence. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an otherworldly glow over the city, Alex paced nervously in the dimly lit laboratory. He had spent countless hours studying the strange energy that seemed to connect his world with another parallel universe. The lab's doors were sealed tight, but he could feel the hum of the portal growing stronger. Dr. Sinclair, a seasoned scientist, observed Alex's unease with a mixture of concern and fascination. "You must trust in your training, Alex," she whispered. "We must understand this connection fully before we make any decisions." Alex paused, his eyes meeting Dr. Sinclair's reassuring gaze. "I know, but... I can sense something over there. A conflict brewing between two groups. It's like the very fabric of time is bending and twisting around us." "Interesting," Dr. Sinclair mused. "Perhaps we'll have a chance to observe this conflict firsthand. Maybe even use it to our advantage." As if on cue, a sudden surge of energy ripped through the air, and Alex felt a shiver down his spine. A portal materialized before them, revealing the shadowy outlines of figures in the distance. "Quickly, Dr. Sinclair! We must see what's happening!" The two scientists exchanged looks, then stepped through the shimmering veil into the unknown. And so began their journey through parallel universes, where they would uncover secrets, forge alliances, and face unimaginable challenges in a world where time was malleable and history hung delicately in the balance. In the malleable world of time, two parallel universes coexist in uneasy harmony. The Resistance, led by Victor, strives to change history for a more equitable world, while the Protectors, led by Elara, seek to preserve their own version of history. Through the discovery of a portal, Alex and Dr. Sinclair step between worlds, setting in motion a conflict that will shake both universes to their core. As they navigate the treacherous landscape of the parallel universe, Alex and Dr. Sinclair encounter the heart of the conflict, and the secrets of the two groups begin to unravel. "The time you know is but one of many possible times," whispered Dr. Sinclair as they stood before the portal. "We must be cautious in our actions, lest we cause irreparable damage." Alex nodded, his eyes widening as he observed the parallel world. "Look at this place! It's like two worlds living side by side, but just a breath apart," he said. Victor and Elara, leaders of their respective groups, met them in the other universe. Their tension was palpable, but they shared a common goal - to protect their worlds. "The balance between our histories is delicate," explained Victor. "But we must be willing to fight for what we believe in." As alliances were formed and challenges faced, Alex and Dr. Sinclair came to understand the gravity of their actions. Their choices would shape the future of both worlds, and the consequences could be immeasurable. They had become pawns in a game of time, where every move mattered. The clock was ticking, and only through unity could they hope to save both universes from the brink of destruction. In the heart of the conflict, Alex and Dr. Victor's voice echoed through the air, his determination clear. "We must change our history for the betterment of all." Elara, on the other hand, stood resolute in her belief. "Our history is precious, and we cannot risk losing it." Alex looked between the two, trying to understand their perspective. Dr. Sinclair, with a knowing smile, said, "Understanding each other's viewpoint may be our only chance at peace." As time seemed to bend and sway around them, Alex asked Victor, "What specific changes do you seek?" Victor replied, "I want equality for all, regardless of their background or abilities. We must learn from our mistakes and create a world where everyone can thrive." Elara listened carefully, her eyes filled with both determination and sorrow. "We cannot ignore the lessons of our past," she countered. "Change may be necessary, but it should not erase who we are." Dr. Sinclair, ever the mediator, interjected. "Can we find common ground? A middle path where history is respected, and progress is made?" Victor hesitated, then nodded slowly. Elara, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes, agreed. "We must work together to find that balance." As the siblings took their first steps towards unity, the malleability of time seemed to lessen, offering a glimpse of a future where history and progress could coexist harmoniously. The portal led Alex and Dr. Sinclair into a world where time was malleable, and two parallel universes coexisted in uneasy harmony. In one universe, Victor led the Resistance, striving for a more equitable history. In the other, Elara commanded the Protectors, desperate to preserve their known past. The siblings' bond challenged both groups, leading to a fragile truce as the balance of history remained uncertain. "What if we could change history?" Victor asked, his voice filled with hope. "Imagine a world where everyone had an equal chance." Elara scoffed. "History is not something to be tampered with. We must learn from our past and move forward." Alex interjected, "But if we could change history for the better, wouldn't that be worth it?" Dr. Sinclair shook his head. "Altering history would create unpredictable consequences. We can never truly know what might happen." In the heart of the conflict, Alex and Dr. Sinclair discovered that Victor and Elara were siblings separated by fate. Victor's voice trembled with emotion as he said, "Elara, we are family. Can't you see that our fight is tearing us apart?" Elara clenched her fists, trying to suppress her own emotions. "The world has changed, Victor," she whispered. "And some things must remain the same." Dr. Sinclair stepped forward, placing a hand on each sibling's shoulder. "We can find a middle ground, a way to preserve what is important while still allowing for progress," he suggested. Alex looked at him, her eyes filled with hope. "But how?" she asked. "By understanding our shared history and learning from it," Dr. Sinclair replied. "Together, we can create a future that honors the past without being bound by it." He turned to Victor and Elara. "Your family's story is a testament to the power of change. Let it inspire you to find a way forward, for both your worlds and yours." As the siblings stood in silence, Alex and Dr. Sinclair could see the gears turning in their minds. They knew that the path to unity would not be easy, but they were ready to face the challenges head-on. With a newfound determination, Victor and Elara took a step towards each other, their fingers brushing as they reached out for the first time in years. "We must find a way to unite them," Dr. Sinclair whispered to Alex, her eyes filled with determination. "Their bond could be the key to ending this conflict." "Agreed," Alex replied, his voice firm and resolute. "Let's approach Victor first." They approached the Resistance encampment, where Victor listened intently as they explained their mission. "I see why you're here, but how can we trust you?" he asked skeptically. "Because your cause is just," Alex responded. "We believe in what you're fighting for. We want to help, but we need your cooperation." Victor paused, considering their words. "Very well, I will hear you out. But know that trust must be earned." With Victor's cautious agreement, they set out to find Elara. As they neared the Protectors' camp, Alex whispered to Dr. Sinclair, "We must tread carefully. They may not welcome us as openly as the Resistance did." Dr. Sinclair nodded, understanding the gravity of their mission. As they entered the camp, Elara studied them closely. "What do you want?" she demanded, her voice cold and unyielding. "We wish to forge an alliance between your groups," Alex replied. "Time is malleable here, and we must work together to maintain the balance of history." Elara's eyes narrowed, but she listened intently. "Why should I trust you?" "Because our goals are aligned," Dr. Sinclair answered. "We all want peace and stability in both worlds. Let us work together to achieve that." After a tense moment, Elara replied, "Very well, we shall hear your proposal. But remember, we are cautious for good reason." Elara, overhearing the exchange, added, "Victor's world was a place of strife and inequality, while mine offered prosperity and justice for all. What if we could create a world that honors both the lessons of your pasts while paving the way for a brighter future?" The siblings exchanged glances, acknowledging the weight of the challenge before them. With determination in her eyes, Elara stated, "Perhaps there is hope after all. Let us work together to bridge our worlds and make them places where everyone can thrive." Victor nodded in agreement, and together they set out on a journey to reshape their realities and redefine the course of history.
