✧Here’s some of mod Scorpii’s headcanons for Calibri while I work on his designs.✧
(Also!! Me and Bee’s headcanons might not always line up with each other’s so we’ll be labeling them and tagging them with either #Scorpii’s headcanons🦂 or #Bee’s headcanons🐝 respectively!!! Ty :-)!!!)
✧I think Calibri would be a total deadhead!! He’s really into psychedelic rock and has a Grateful Dead hoodie he wears everywhere.
✧He definitely flunked high school really bad. He’d show up to class absolutely zooted at 7 A.M. and just coast through the day on nothing but vibes and the edible in his pocket. Papyrus made him at least get his GED afterwards.
✧He totally models his guitar playing after Jimi Hendrix, and Napstaton samples his riffs for his music.
✧That being said!! Calibri definitely has access to Napstaton’s official social media and posts the worst things imaginable on his professional account. It’s always like low res images of Goku with captions like “shidded” and then nothing else.
✧Calibri is the chill homie harboring an unfathomable amount of sadness.
✧Like, his inferiority complex has only gotten worse with age (He’d be about 19-21 in our future au) To be honest, he’s a total basket case that really wants to change, but is too scared to put in the effort.
✧He brings a “we should all quit” vibe to the work place that managers don’t really like.
✧Expanding on that; he’s been fired from pretty much every single job he’s had until Napstaton gave him a job at his record store/radio station.
✧He previously worked at a movie theater and helped kids sneak in to shows through the back, but eventually got caught.
✧Calibri can give you solid music recommendations based on your vibes alone and he’s got a 99% success rate.
✧He asked Trajan to be his trip sitter one time, but as soon as the shrooms hit he got terrified of Trajan’s four eyes and locked himself in the laundry room.
✧He and Hapstablook love to cook together!! He also cooks with Sans too, but it can get to be a really exhausting couple of hours trying to wrangle him into actually cooking the taco meat. So Calibri really values his time with Hapstablook cause it’s usually just a very sweet and calming experience.
✧The bandana in my new design for him is from his uncle Sans 🫶 he has like, a million and wanted Calibri to match with him.
✧He’d rather die than cut his hair.
✧Calibri’s style now leans more into a hippie-punk kinda look, mainly cause he aligns himself with most of the ideals of both subcultures.
Here’s my sketch of his new design so far!! I’ll have a more confident piece for him, this is just a lazy slap-together.
He’s got on that stupid Grateful Dead hoodie and a battle vest full of patches of all his favorite artists.
Never ditched the chucks! He still rocks with his converse- and his fingerless gloves.
He doesn’t tie his hair up as often anymore, but he does dress it up with that bandana that I mentioned!
His tank top underneath has a Misfits logo on it 💪
And that’s a crazy ass monster boof from the Hot-Lands so who knows what’s actually in it.
-Scorpii

“when he put the what, in the where...”
pairing: katsuki bakugo x female reader
cw: swearing becuase its bakugo, kissing, implications
word count: 1300+
a/n: this was originally a headcanon with todoroki and shinso but i could only think of an idea for bakugo and the bakugo part was getting too long, if you guys want a todoroki and shinso version then just comment or send a request
summary: in which you’re in a secret relationship with bakugo until one fateful night in the dorms
↞ back to my hero academia masterlist
Your relationship with Bakugo would be classed as unconventional, you were dating, and every moment spent together was like paradise. Even with him not wanting to tell the class about your relationship he kept his promise to always make you feel needed and not ignored. To him you weren’t just some stupid extra.
You were his girlfriend which meant you were permanently his, you didn’t really care for people to know. As long as both Bakugo and you were happy you didn’t need other people’s feelings to interfere. And he just didn’t want stupid Deku to know to put it in his own words.
You had thought that when your relationships had gotten out that it would be on your terms, not at a Friday movie night after you and Bakugo had spent your afternoon making out.
“Katsu we have to go down soon, they’ll wonder where we’ve gone.” You were breathless with your exposed collar being bitten by Bakugo, his hands placed on your waist as you could feel the glands of sweat on his hands get hotter and hotter.
You didn’t mind the marks that his quirk left it was almost a hidden secret to the both of you, he murmured a small no as his lips travelled to another area that hadn’t been covered by his teeth, your hand had rested in his hair, as his hand moved further down.
He went past your shorts reaching your uncovered thighs as his quirk left more bruises and marks, a clear hand print evident on your waist and inner thigh. You loved seeing him on you and proving that he was yours and you were his.
Even with the lack of physical contact at school and in front of people, when in the comforts of each other’s rooms you were free to be together and be at peace.
You heard the ding of your phone knowing it was Mina asking where you were, “we really have to go down.”
“Whose fucking idea was it to have a movie night? I could’ve been sleeping or even better fucking you, but instead I’m spending my Friday evening with some dumb extras.” He huffed as he let go off your skin, he stood up towering on top as his legs were between your own legs.
“Those dumb extras are friends’ baby.” You encased his face in your hand caressing it as he put his face further into your palm.
“They’re still dumb extras.” He mutters standing up, he helped sorting the both of you out, as you still wore the shorts and a hoodie.
You both had been staring at the mirror in your room, as he got his phone checking to see the consistent messages of Kirishima asking where he was. You’d taken your phone going onto your camera as you wanted to saviour the moment of having alone time with Bakugo.
You took a couple mirror pictures, ones with Bakugo not paying attention before the last one had him grabbing your throat as he kissed your cheek, it was cute something that you wished you could post without anybody finding it
You both walked towards the elevator, holding hands until you both let go, acting as if you’d both met in the elevator, both thinking of excuses that were viable, Mina had asked for you to grab some food for everybody.
Following, you watched Bakugo sit on the couch next to Kirishima being his angry self as he called everybody extra’s. You saw pervy Mineta trying to look up the girls shirts before Momo kicked him in the chest and he fell to the ground being made to sit next to Denki and none of the girls.
“So, I heard our resident loud boy has a crush.” Mina says as she grabs some popcorn putting it in the microwave.
“Who? Bakugo?” You question knowing that must be who she was talking about.
She smirks leaning against the counter top, “Of course I mean Bakugo, Kirishima said he heard him talking on the phone last Saturday.”
You remembered the conversation; you had gone back home to visit your parents and Bakugo had been acting clingy without you there. He was alone without you and as much as he’d hate to admit it, you were the only good thing among the extras around him. He’d left consistent voice notes to you and when you finally called him after a long day out with your parents you spoke for nearly four hours.
“Can you two fucking hurry up?” You hear Bakugo shout as Koda puts the film on, you deciding to bring the food that Sato had made, mainly brownies and cookies as Mina bringing the popcorn.
“Yeah coming lover boy.” Mina shouts as the final bag of popcorn was done.
“What?” Everybody questions staring at Bakugo.
Izuku is the first one to speak cheerily, “does Kacchan have a girlfriend?”
Bakugo glared at the class, “I fucking don’t.”
To clear the silence, you walked with the brownies and cookies towards the group “Sato, the brownies smell amazing.” He thanks you as you go over to Bakugo.
“Move up then.” You sign as he rolls his eyes before letting you sit down; you had half your body on him but in the dark nobody could see.
You went up to his ear whispering, “Kiri heard you talking to someone, maybe you should be quieter lover boy.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t moan so loud then.” You could almost feel his smirk through the dark.
The movie being a boring one as everybody talked and ate, even Bakugo was engaging in the conversation mainly talking to Kirishima.
“It’s so cold.” Mina shivers in her seat.
“Here you can wear mine. I’m warm.” You offered as you stood up, Jiro putting the lights on for you to see where you would pass it too.
Standing up you pulled the hoodie off your body, wearing a tank top underneath, as you raised your arms up, your thighs were exposed, and your waist was visible.
No sound is heard, the shuffling and shouting of Mineta as if someone was covering him, as you finally take your head out of the hoodie, you pass it to Mina who just stares at you with the rest of the class.
“What’s up?” You asked as you noticed Mineta had been covered by Ojiro.
“Are those?” What you also hadn’t realised was the marks that Bakugo had left on your neck were visible to everybody. The question coming from Denki as you instinctively covered your neck with your hands.
“Nothing.” You whisper, “let’s watch the film.” Is all you say.
“Wait a minute.” Mina grabs Bakugo’s hands as she lifts the shirt up, you give a look as she puts his hand to the hand print on your waist. “That’s Bakugo’s hand print”.
“No shit Sherlock.” He says smirking as he sees his work, almost admiring it, oh how you wanted to rip that smirk off his face.
“Katsuki.” You shouted out.
“You should’ve kept your clothes on.” Is all he says
“Was that why I heard that weird noise coming from the couch a month ago?” Denki questions.
“That was when I had to put my belt in your mouth.” Bakugo spoke reminiscing.
“When he put the what, in the where...” The classes eyes widen.
“I fucking hate you.” You finally speak as you go to sit down next to him but instead he grabs your arm pushing you onto his body, his arm wrapping around your waist as he missed the contact you both had had hours ago.
“No you don’t.” He whispers kissing the top of your head.
Nobody asked questions they continued to watch the film as both you and Bakugo laid in each other’s arms he fell asleep holding you as if you were a bear, you smiled at his sleeping figure kissing his cheek as you snuggled up closer to him.

The Recs (Less Travelled)
I’m excited to bring you the first installment of my ‘roads less travelled’ recs! I will be doing another round of this, probably once the Ted Lasso fic tag hits about 25 pages, and then I’ll also grab a couple more fandoms to collect in there!
The Rules:
Each fandom/pairing was sorted on Archive of Our Own by completed works. Anything recced here was not in the first ten pages when sorted by kudos at the time of reccing. There may be some more well-known authors on this list, but the specific fics I’ve picked are ones that didn’t crack that top ten or just didn’t get much traction and I think deserve it, so hopefully I have also balanced it out with other under the radar (and still great!) works. As ever, I have a pinned post of my other recs (none have been duplicated from there), so you can also check those out! Under the cut you’ll find 10 recs in each fandom for:
Raven Cycle
Roswell New Mexico
The Old Guard
Inception
Star Trek (mainly Kirk/McCoy)
The Raven Cycle

“Since when do you garden?”
Ronan snorted, “Since I grew up on a fucking farm, genius. Jesus who gave you permission to pursue higher education.”
the old grip of the familiar by littleseal
"There is a single black feather and a printed out picture of Gansey, Blue and Cheng standing in front of some fucking monument Ronan didn’t care enough to remember the name of. Gansey sent it to Ronan’s phone some time ago, but it sat in his messages until Adam picked it up and grinned at it so hard that, one afternoon later, Ronan cursed and kicked and glared his old printer back to life in order to print it out.
Fuck, he thinks, I’m in love with a hoarder."
Adam collects things. Ronan is in love with him.

“What. Why are you smiling at me,” he says suspiciously.

“Terrifyingly cute,” Adam says.

"Adam was the scientist, Ronan was the data, and Orphan Girl was the key that explained the strange outliers that Ronan presented, his previously unexplainable actions."

Adam sorts out his feelings, Ronan helps him, Gansey is the number one dad friend, Blue is the number one mom friend and Henry tries to make Ronan smile. Otherwise known as the story of how Orphan Girl became Opal.
All These Things You Make Me Feel by SilverOpals394
It was late. Adam could feel the long day catching up to him as he left Boyd’s, all his energy exhausted. When he started his car, the tape deck whirred to life once more. He sighed and raised his hand to turn it off, but before he did a soft melody began to play.
AU in which the mixtape Ronan made for Adam only plays the murder squash song until Adam realizes he's in love with Ronan, too.

Hold Me Closer, I'm Safe in Your Arms by actuallyronanlynch
“You wanna tell me why I had to hear from Henry Cheng that my boyfriend was at the hospital?” Adam hissed, though his voice wasn’t as acidic as it could’ve been. Ronan took small victories where he could.
“You don’t have a cellphone,” Ronan pointed out flatly. “It’s not like I could’ve gotten a hold of you.”
arts and crafts and the inevitability of death by sunshineinthestorm
Adam comes to the public library in search of a study spot, not a boyfriend.
But it must be his lucky day—because he ends up with a bit of both.

“Hey…have you noticed that our boyfriends are madly in love with each other?"
“You noticed that too, huh,” she answers dryly, letting out a huff of reluctant amusement.

I have noticed an uncommon level of animosity in your responses to your reviewers (or rather, one reviewer in particular). I am writing to ask if you would please do your best to keep your interactions civil. In fairness, I have also sent a similar request to the reviewer you seem to have this friction with. I trust you will both try and remain more professional in the future.

It was honestly shaping up to be a pretty uneventful year before the Vatican got on Nicky’s bad side.
Or: three times in 2008 that the team genuinely thought about killing Nicky if only to get him to shut up about the changes to the Catholic English Mass and his unrelenting opinions on them, and one time Nile did.

Five years into his exile, Booker is joined by a companion he never expected to meet. Together, they try to work on healing.
Sometimes they go down to the sewers just so she can scream and scream. “I like to hear it echo,” she explains. “Underwater, you can’t hear anything. Here, at least I can be heard.”
“I don’t feel like a warrior anymore,” she tells him, throwing bread crumbs at pigeons. “I feel broken.”
“You’re still a warrior,” he says roughly. “This is still fighting.”

Over the next few months, Joe runs into Nicky every so often at the farmer’s market. When they do run into each other, they make small talk and move through the stalls together.
Joe doesn’t mention it to Lykon when he stops by, because it is kind of weird, that Lykon’s ex-boyfriend texts Joe things like - If you’re here, the apples look particularly good this week and thank you for that recipe, I did not know what I was going to do with that much couscous

NCT’s Love Language with JiHo
~~inspired by these two [1] [2] videos~~~
This is how the NCT members show their love and appreciation towards JiHo. Click here for: part 1, part 2
Mark:
JiHo creates such a comforting space for Mark, because she’s just so down to earth and fits in with the boys so well
So much so that Mark just has to tell her sometimes
“I’m really glad you are in NCT with us JiHo”
Even during the most random moments, like when he was doing a live stream with some of the dreamies and JiHo wasn’t even there
After a few seconds of silence, “wow, don’t you think JiHo did such a great job in our last MV? I think she was the best.”
Of course the Chenle had to tease him for that
High fives is the most physical they get, they aren’t really ’huggers’ when it comes to each other, but you can find them holding on to each other after their legs give out from laughing too hard
Besides that, he’s also very reassuring and will compliment her whenever he thinks she’s being to harsh on herself
Xiaojun:
Xiaojun openly expresses his appreciation for JiHo to her
Whenever they are having one of their many long conversations, he always manages to slip in a compliment or two (and vice-versa)
The way he shows his love is very natural, so for the untrained eye you might never catch one of those moments, but JiHo knows and that’s all what matters
High fives and a quick shoulder pat in passing, nothing special to see here, just a friendly gesture of saying “I’m glad I know you”
Hendery:
Small gestures like a thumbs up (their signature thing) or a smile in JiHo’s direction
Like Mark will definitely compliment her randomly, but almost exclusively when she’s not there
Usually around the WayV members, but they can’t keep nothing to themselves so JiHo knows he’s been complimenting her ^^
Will offer her his snacks or for her to try his beverage whenever he’s having something and JiHo isn’t
He honestly just wants to get closer to her, because they still have their awkward moments together
Renjun:
Renjun is very supportive and reassuring, but always in a cool way
Like he will just casually tell her she’s doing well or how she should go for something without making a big deal out of it
Whenever he really wants to praise her and get’s all sentimental and soft, he makes sure she isn’t anywhere near him or that she won’t find out about it
If she does, he’ll just straight up deny it and act disgusted
JiHo used to hate it when Renjun would randomly pat her head or shoulder, but then she realised he does it whenever he can’t verbally express himself (more specifically his appreciation for her or when he’s proud of her)
Jeno:
They already have a very openly affectionate relationship
Jeno can get really protective of JiHo so it’s nothing new to see him with his arm around the girl’s shoulder
Even though they have a sibling kind of bond, it’s not the kind where they want to pull each other’s hair out every so often
So it’s really not that hard for Jeno to just give her hugs and compliment her whenever he feels like it
Haechan:
“Painfully” aggressive side hugs
The sentiment is for sure there, but every time Haechan tackles her in one of those hugs, she thinks she might find a bruise somewhere on her body the next day
He’ll just pull her in and ruffle her head with his knuckles while cooing at the girl
He isn’t really clingy or touchy towards JiHo outside that really (only when he wants to tease her)
Because Haechan knows she gets a bit annoyed it when he hugs her so aggressively, that’s exactly why he does it
He’ll do anything to tease her and he knows that JiHo never holds a grudge because of his teasing
Besides the hugs, he’ll mostly just show his love through his expression (soft but proud smiles) or just him cheering her on in the back
Jaemin:
You may or may not already know that JiHo likes giving Jaemin back hugs
Well, Jaemin picked up on this and every once in a while you’ll catch him giving the smaller girl a back hug
We all know how much Jaemin loves aegyo, whenever any one does aegyo he spontaneously joins and the same counts for when JiHo does (at least whenever she’s forced to do it)
You’ll always find him watching JiHo with a big smile on his face (he’s so soft for her)
Yangyang:
This is all speculation okay? BUT
Fans believe they have made their own secret language
They have been spotted just looking at each other, making weird facial expressions and moving their bodies in weird ways and all of a sudden they just laugh or continue on like they had a conversation and understood each other
Yangyang will just hug JiHo
He will also hype her up, during practise or whenever she’s talking during a live stream or another kind of schedule
Shotaro:
Subtle touches like:
He’ll stand really close to JiHo so their shoulders/arms are pressed together or
While laughing will subtly put his hand on the girl’s shoulder
Shotaro really likes JiHo because she took care of him a lot when he first joined NCT so he has so much respect for her
That becomes quite apparent whenever she’s talking, because he’ll always try to pay all of his attention to her (as long as none of the members distract him)
Sungchan:
A lot of things JiHo do makes him smile
Sungchan really wants to be in a unit with JiHo because he thinks she’s really cool, so he mostly just compliments her on her work ethic and performance
Is very straightforward about it like Renjun, but isn’t afraid to be very expressive about it
If he sounds sappy so be it
It’s become more of a habit as they grew closer, but he’ll subtly either rest his arms on her head or shoulders while standing behind or beside her
He wasn’t sure if she’d be okay with it, because she isn’t touchy with most members, but he was pleasantly surprised when JiHo let him do as he pleased
Now he’ll sometimes just put his hands on both of her shoulders and squeeze them a few times before moving on as a sign of gratefulness or in a way to comfort her
Chenle:
Also one of those subtle, sneaky boys
He’ll mostly just keeps an eye out for JiHo to makes sure she’s alright when he knows she isn’t feeling 100%
Smiley when she is being particularly cute (in his eyes) that day
Let’s her choose the music they’ll listen to or game they are going to play during their chill sessions
Chenle tries to involve JiHo in a lot of things when he’s hanging out with some of the other members (mainly with Dream)
Jisung:
He’s a bit more shy when it comes to physically and verbally expressing his love and appreciation towards JiHo so he’ll find other ways to do so
Whenever they go somewhere or are doing a live stream and there aren’t enough chairs, he’ll gladly give his chair up for JiHo
Or when he sees JiHo looking for a bottle of water he will get her one without her having asked for it
He’ll sometimes gets teased for it by his hyungs by getting told he’s acting like a “cold gentleman” because he likes to keep things low-key
He gets too embarrassed to just do those things straight forward
But if there’s ever a very emotional moment and Jisung just feels the need to express his love for the girl, he will pull her into a hug no problem

Fic Writer Interview
I was tagged way way back by @endae (my beloved). Thank you for the tag!!!
How many works do you have on AO3?
19 (haha), I really gotta work on moving all my paranoid ford one shots over into a one shot series though. I have about 70 fic posts on here.
What’s your total word count on AO3
180,212. Half of which all comes from Gotham Falls which isn’t a surprise.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Mainly just Gravity Falls.
I wouldn’t really count the other stuff I’ve done because it’s only been 1 fic, and that was it really. R.ise of the Guardians, O.utlast:Whistleblower, S.anders Sides. N.aruto and D.eath Note if you wanna go way back.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Even Stone Crumbles 2. I Think I Saw You 3. Gotham Falls 4. A Blinded Eye for a Blinded Eye 5. Please Come
I’m pretty happy ITISY is up there since that’s kind of my ‘best series work’, Blinded Eye too, that one’s been a lot of fun to write because it’s a ficlet series.
Kind of really thrown that the Even Stone Crumbles one shot is the hightest one though, dang people really just wanted to see Ford cry huh, I can accomodate that.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Uh... rarely.
Basically, it’s something where creators responding to me got me nervous so I didn’t generally do it as a creator myself until I found out some consider it polite to respond and since then I’ve been making an effort of doing it going forward.
I’m not online that often nowadays though so... I haven’t done it much.
Wanna emphasize tho how much I THRIVE off of comments and that I appreciate them even if I didn’t reply to them. Genuinely I’ve made fics a higher priority bc a comment revitalized my passion for the fic.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Most of my paranoid one shots wind up with angsty endings where it’s implied that Ford just has to keep Living in it.
I had one where he woke up and thought Bill had Killed A Person while he was possessing him, and it leaves off an unsettling note.
Do you write crossovers? If so, what’s the craziest thing you’ve ever written?
Rarely. I wouldn’t consider myself a crossover person, which is funny because I have one exception for that and it IS Gotham Falls (which is the stan twins from gf inside of gotham from b.atman the animated series).
For the sake of the question though imma include rp for wildest thing I’ve ever done which was rp as Chris McLean from total drama island and hosted a game of ‘rabbit doubt’ (which is an angsty rp game where 1 person is a killer and is killing the other characters until they’re the only one left or the group discovers who it is). Players included bill, some undertale characters, and etc.
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
No. Worst I’ve ever gotten was slightly rude stuff.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
‘Rarely’ really is the word of the day here. Some g.ravity falls and some vamp oc content.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No. Closest I’ve ever done has been rp. Remembered I co-wrote a fic with a friend when I was in middle school. Dual self-insert where the a.katsuki (from n.aruto) kidnapped us from our world and we wound up becoming ninjas.
What’s your all-time favorite ship?
hands down, B.illford. Manipulative and toxic is a ship dynamic I enjoy a lot.
Honorable second place B.lackice (J.ack Frost/P.itch Black) which i’ve been coming back to read fics for every long once in a while since 2013. Even if it’s only in spurts it is still technically the longest I’ve cared for a ship. (Surprisingly, I actually like this ship when Pitch genuinely reforms, kozmotis style)
(I don’t care about the vast majority of ships so not a hard competition here.)
What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Gotham F- lol no, I’m determined to not die until I finish that bad boy.
Dear Stan(ford). Unfortunately, an easy answer. I’ve never gone back to finish it really, and it’s the lowest on the totem poles out of all my wips.
There’s nothing wrong with it, and it’s got good legs, but I think the slice-of-life sort of pace makes this harder for me to write especially with it being an episodic set up which gives me nothing much to jump to between each letter.
It’s a bit of a ‘as the mood strikes me’ but I always have something higher priority and I’m more invested in so the mood never strikes.
What are your writing strengths?
I’d like to think that once I’ve got a character down that I can do their dialogue really well and character interactions. Characterization in general.
Also tense scenes.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Fluff, casual conversations, new characters, fighting.
Whenever I try anything entirely light hearted I generally fall flat and it all comes out so stocky/woody.
New characters, if I don’t Know A Character Through and Have A True Feel for them, then I just flounder all over the place. I don’t know how to write if I don’t know what they’d be thinking and feeling past about how ANY person would think/feel.
Fighting - I mean hell, common weakness, same issue as fluff/slice-of-life I just feel like I’m pushing words. Half the time I can get in a groove with it, but other times it’s - arm hit wall, punch go to face but miss.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Yeah, more than fine. If the 2nd language becomes plot important then I think you should either include translation or mark the language as multilingual, but yeah nah.
I’m someone that has to know what it’s saying even if it’s not Plot Important so I prefer the translations regardless (if google translate won’t get the point across for me).
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
N.aruto.
See above for mention of that self insert a.katsuki kidnapping fic.
We posted it on quizilla, and it’s a shame it’s gone because it was actually fun to read from what I remember.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?
.... That’s a hard decision.
My baby is Gotham Falls, always has been. I’ve reached a difficult point on it though because I’m at a point where I’m bringing in mmm 6 new characters (B.atman villains) which I’m trying to bring in over the next 10 chapters PLUS it’s going to be with fight/action scenes probably every other chapter if not nearly every chapter - both of which are really hard for me to write. I adore it probably the most and it is easily the most I’ve worked on any fic, but it’s also my biggest challenge. (And it holds some of my oldest writing which as always can hurt to read when you’re better now, but NO way am i updating 60k of old work).
Then I love doing p.aranoid ford fics, they’re my favorite go to. Writing A Prime P.aranoid Ford fic that just flows out is one of my favorite things.
Alternatively - ITISY because it’s definitely my top 5 story concepts and one of my best executions of something wasn’t a one shot.
I’m tagging @pinesbrosfalls, @fexalted, @novantinuum and whoever else may like to do this. Sorry if I double tagged and no pressure to do it of course.

⊹ 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: The BAU finally decides to have a Secret Santa after they realize how much Penelope deserves it.
⊹ 𝐀/𝐍: This was originally gonna be separated into two chapters, but I didn’t wanna keep y’all waiting, so I’m posting it all at once. Credits to @sapphicstruggle for helping me with one of the gifts (Penelope’s), ily babes!!! PS. Like half of this isn’t proofread, so if there are any spelling errors or something sounds off, I apologize :// (yes I’m sleep deprived, no I will not go to sleep)
The month has barely started and the bullpen of the BAU was already the more festive place any of the members had ever seen. Courtesy of one Ms. Penelope Garcia, of course, and even though they weren’t too big on Christmas, they always appreciated the nice little decorations she put up every year. It was a nice change of scenery from that of gruesome bodies and psychotic killers.
As the team exited the elevator on December 11, coming home from a case, they were met with the most beautiful rug. It was large, and a vibrant shade of read, that was just vibrant enough to grab the attention of the team, but not too vibrant to hut their eyes. It had golden swirls at each of the four corners, and the fur was so soft, it almost felt... homey.
They continued walking in, knowing something big would be waiting for them, and they were not disappointed. As the profilers passed through the open glass doors they saw the lights dimly lit, and each of their desks was covered in fairy lights from the outside, and above the desk dividers. Golden garlands were set in hoops at the top of the walls, and rolled around the handrails that led them from the center of the bullpen to the conference room. All of the doors to separate offices had dark green painted door frames, and decorative wreaths that matched each other.
They each looked at their desks and noticed the name tags had changed as well, and once they sat at their individual posts, they all saw a little card with a candy cane tied to it with a nice little ribbon. All but Emily’s. Emily had 2, one assigned to her, the other to the blonde that always sat her desk after cases. The team smiled around at each other, before opening their cards and reading them silently to themselves. They smiled, some chuckled, but no one asked for what was in the other’s cards. It all felt too personal.
“Guys... how do we repay her?” Spencer asked in a soft voice. An idea popped in Derek’s brain, as he started to open his candy cane.
“You know,” he started, getting the team’s attention as Hotch and Rossi left their offices. It was so quiet in there, even through closed doors they could hear Morgan speak. “Every year, she asks for one thing we can’t provide...” they all looked around, watching each other’s reactions.
“You know we’re always away on cases, so we rarely get to spend Christmas together?” He asked, earning a nod and some guilt filled looks from the rest of them. “How about this year... we say screw it!” They all looked around wondering where he was going with this.
“Secret Santa...” Spencer said in a low tone, as realization hit him, and Morgen nodded. They all looked around wondering how the little genius could’ve guessed it.
“I mean think about it!” Morgan said after a while, the rest of them stayed silent. “We never get to do anything just us! Well, anything that isn’t work-related.”
“I agree!” Rossi chimed in. “We could all go to my place on the 24th, I’ll make diner, and with Secret Santa we only need to buy one gift!” He said, earning nods and smiles from the rest of them.
“We could have a sleepover!” Emily said jokingly, but smiled happily when Rossi said it would be fine by him. They all smiled, making small talk, mainly about Jack, Henry and Michael, and how they’d love to have a sleepover at Uncle Dave’s, but the conversation died as they heard an all-too familiar clacking of heels.
They turned around to the hallway leading to Penelope’s office, and saw as the blonde walked away from it, head down as she fumbled around in her purse, too focused to notice the team was there. She was pulled away from her thoughts, however, when she felt 8 arms all around her, looking up to see Emily, JJ, Derek and even Spencer huddled around her, thanking her in hugs. She hugged them back with no hesitation, obviously, but when she saw the bright smile on Hotch and Rossi’s face is when she realized how appreciated she truly is.
They all pulled away from her, and Derek was the one to break the silence.
“Baby girl, we uh...” he started shyly, looking around at the team for some form of confirmation, which he received in form of nods. “We were thinking on doing something a little special this year! We thought we’d all have diner at Rossi’s, spend the night and uh...” he said hesitantly, her smile only getting wider and wider. “We thought about doing Secret Santa!” He revealed, as if he were telling a child they get to go to Disney Land, and her reaction matched it perfectly. She gasped, and when they though her smile couldn’t get any brighter, it did! She wrapped her arms around Derek’s broad shoulders jumping in uncontrollable happiness, and rushed to place a kiss on all their foreheads.
Secret Santa was something she’d been asking for for so long, but every year they never got around to it. This year, with the promise of no cases, suggested by Derek and enforced by Hotch, they knew they had enough time to do all the things they’d been missing out on. And with that they all left the bullpen, each with a card in had that was way too special to be left forgotten in a drawer.
The next day, Penelope sprinted through the office with a colorful box in hand. She called everyone into the bullpen, and placed the box at the exact center of the round table. They all sat down with confused expressions, as the woman started to explain herself.
“In the box, there are 7 papers, each with our names on it.” She began, but couldn’t finish because of Spencer’s rude interruption.
“For Secret Santa? Nice!” He leaned from his place on the table towards the middle, reaching for the box only to get his hand slapped away by Garcia.
“Yes, and you will get your turn, eventually...” she squinted at him, and he leaned back in his chair, murmuring something of an ‘I’m sorry’ under his breath.
“Emily you get to go first, and we’ll go clockwise!” She emphasized. Given that Emily was sitting right next to Spencer, that would mean he’d be the last one, and the team chuckled at the punishment. They took their turns getting each of their papers, smiling and grinning smugly as they eyed the rest of them.
The rest of the week had gone smoothly, and the only cases they had were regional, so they didn’t have to fly to anywhere where their plans could be ruined. They made plans to go to Rossi’s mansion, given that it would mean they each had their own room.
—————
As they entered Rossi’s house mansion, one by one, they set the presents under the Christmas Tree, while they sat around the coffee table centered in the living room, and the couch right behind it. Hotch and Jack were the last ones to arrive, earning mocking cheers from the rest of the team as if it were a miracle. They shared some lighthearted conversation and laughter before Penelope grew impatient with excitement, and decided to start the gift exchange. Luckily, the kids had fallen asleep, and were taken to a guest rooms where they could sleep in peace.
“I’ll go first!” Derek said excitedly. “My person!” He announced, gathering everyone’s. “Can be mea-“
“Emily!” They all said simultaneously, not even letting Derek get a sentence in.
“Well, you’re not wrong, but you could’ve at least play dumb, no?” Derek mocked annoyance as Emily got up from her seat with a smirk. Derek leaned down to pick his present from under the tree. She tore the wrapper apart and gasped when she saw what laid underneath.
“You didn’t!” She said, a large smile growing rapidly on her face. “Derek Morgan, I love you, I love you, I love you!!!” She hugged him excitedly, bouncing on her feet with happiness as she opened the box to show a pair of two butterfly knives, one black and one white. She grabbed one on each hand, but before she could do anything, Derek took it away from her.
“We don’t need anyone loosing eyeballs on Christmas, now do we?!” She scrunched her face, faking mad, while the rest of them laughed. She put her knives back in the box, and gave Derek a tight hug.
“I guess I’m next,” she chuckled nervously before continuing. “My person is...” she pondered on how to describe the team member without making her feeling obvious. “Caring...
They’re always able to connect with the victims, and make a safe space for them. They value family over anything, and they could be a real badass with a gun!” They all shared a chuckle and started calling out JJ’s name. JJ got up, looking down as she made her way to stand next to brunette, trying to hide the blush that had mysteriously made its way onto her face. Emily handed her a flat box covered in colorful paper, and JJ quickly unwrapped it. She gasped, as she let the Christmas themed wrapping fall on the floor and opened the box. Tears started forming in her eyes, as she pulled Emily into a tight hug.
“Thank you!” She managed to choke out between tears as she handed Emily the box. “C-can you-?” Emily nodded as JJ turned around, and removed a silver locket from the box. The team watched the exchange in awe, realizing this was too personal to ask what the gif was. Emily placed it around JJ’s neck, and the blond looked down, opening it one more time. She stared at the picture of her and her sister for a few moments, tracing the oval shape of the necklace with her thumb, before wiping her tears away, and smiling at Emily.
“Jennifer Jareau, you are the strongest person I know!” She said, a whisper so low it sounded like nothing but soft mumbles to the rest of the team. “You have no idea how much you mean to me, Jayje.” Emily brought a hand to rest at JJ’s jaw while she praised the woman.
“And you couldn’t even dream of how far I’d go to protect you. And little Henry. And what I’d do to make sure you were safe!” JJ let a tear stream down her face before leaning forward, and pressing her lips to the brunette’s. The kiss was tender and sweet, as they held each other, even after they broke apart. JJ wrapped her arms around Emily, giving her one last hug. The team cheered lightly, and Spencer gave Emily a knowing look.
“I love you Jennifer Jareau!” Emily whispered against the blonde’s lips. “I love you, Emily Prentiss!” She let another tear fall, before they were pulled out of the moment once more by the team’s ‘awe’s.
“Right!” JJ sighed, as Emily sat back down. “Um, my turn, I guess.” She chuckled lightly, re-composing herself, as she removed her present from the Christmas tree. She smiled back down at Emily one more time, before looking at the rest of them. “My person is... often belittled by those around them, but they carry a special place in our hearts. Others might look at this person and make them seem less, almost infantile, but we know them, and we know just how untrue that is...” before she could finish, they all started looking at Spencer, and she noticed the way Derek looked him like he was the only person in the room. I guess Penelope and I sure got into his head, she thought to herself, as Spencer made his way from the couch around the table to stand next to her. She gave him a warm smile as she handed him his gift. He unwrapped it, and smiled brightly once his eyes landed on the object under the paper.
“JJ!” He looked between her and his gift before giving her a hug. “Thank you so much!” He said, not even bothering to hide his excitement as he ran a hand over where the title was engraved on the hard cover of the book. The Giver, he read to himself, faint happy memories reapering in his head. He flipped the book, demonstrating it to the team, but looking only at Derek. “Look!” He whispered, shaking the book a little, earning a chuckle and a nod from Derek and smiles from the rest of them. “I never actually read it, but my mom used to read this book to me all the time when I was little.”
He looked at the book mesmerizingly, “Thank you so much, JJ!” He smiled at the blonde, pulling her into another hug, and placing a soft kiss to her cheeks. She she sat back down, Spencer placed his book on the table, and fumbled around looking for his present.
“Um, alright, I uh...” Spencer struggled to find his words as he started at the object in hand. He looked at his teammates before continuing. “My person is constantly overlooked by those around them. The one asset that makes them stand out from the rest of the team is constantly brushed aside simply because-“ he stopped himself before he could say something that would completely give away who his person is. “Wha- what I’m trying to say is that, um, they are smarter then people give them credit for, and more caring then people want to admit-“ Spencer sounded infuriated, and Derek got up from his seat, placing a hand on Spencer’s shoulders.
“Is it me?” He asked with a shit eating grin, making Spencer chuckle and blush lightly.
“Yeah,” he breathed out while he nodded, handing the gift to Morgan who gave him a forehead kiss before shifting his attention fully to present. Spencer blushed a little harder thankful that the only light source was the colorful lights from the Christmas tree behind him. Tears filled Derek’s eyes as he unwrapped the gift and opened the box.
“Pretty boy, how-“ he stood there staring at the focus of his attention as shock filled his every facial expression. The thing about Derek Morgan is that you’ll only see his emotions if, A) He wants you too, or B) he’s too comfortable around you to be able to hide them. Something in Spencer’s brain hoped for the latter.
“I managed to pull some strings...” He said, and Derek just smiled at him. He was so lost in Spencer’s eyes he forgot time was passing, and was brought back when his phone buzzed in his pocket. He chuckled awkwardly, removing and reading the text from his mom. Did you get the present? She asked him. He looked back up at Spencer who just nodded. He took a picture of the box in his hand-his gift- that held his father’s badge on a glass frame inside, and sent it to his mom.
“Thank you so much, Spence...” he hugged the boy tightly before letting go. The team looked at them in awe just like earlier, except this time all they got were nervous chuckles and longing stares. As the boys sat back down, Rossi got up from his seat.
Morgan sighed happily, and didn’t miss the way Emily and Spencer looked at each other. He knew how significant both his and JJ’s presents were, and that’s when he realized they probably got it together.
“I’ll go next!” Rossi said, making his way to the other side of the table, right in front of the Christmas Tree.
“My person is probably the only thing holding this team together! Highly likely the reason those two finally got together,” Rossi said pointing to JJ and Emily, “and the reason those two are about to!” He directed his pointer towards Morgan and Reid, where the boys looked down and away from each other, as a blush crept onto their faces.
“They are very charismatic, and always ready to help and make everyone happy!” They all turned their focus towards Penelope, and she got up with a smile. “Merry Christmas kiddo!” He reached around the tree, grabbing one of the enveloped boxes, and handing it to her. She unwrapped her present, her smile growing wider once she saw what the colorful paper had been hiding.
“I love it!” She smiled brightly at the object in hand. She showed off her new desk ornament to her team- a brightly lit frog carved on a piece of glass that was set on a rock with the label ‘don’t froget to love yourself’-before she gave Rossi a tight hug, and he made his way back to his seat. She removed the second to last present from under the tree, her smile not dropping for a single moment.
“My person has a very big heart despite the fact that they try to hide it. They can be very cold, but we all know they’re secretly a big softy!” She described her teammate as she looked around to all of them.
“Hotch!” Emily called out, while they all smiled, and Derek clapped Hotch’s knee with a chuckle. Hotch smiled at Garcia, as she handed him his gift. Hotch smiled as he unraveled a tiny box, revealing two tickets to go see Broadway’s Wicked musical.
“Ok, I know musicals aren’t your think, but-” she explained, but he cut her off giving her a smile.
“It’s perfect, Penelope, thank you!” He said, somehow sounding more formal then he did at work. She smiled at him, and resumed her place on the floor next to JJ and Emily.
“My gift isn’t something really meaningful, like the rest of your but...” Hotch leaned down to take the last present from under the tree as Rossi got up. “Merry Christmas, Dave!” He said, handing the older man his gift. Rossi removed the colorful wrapping to reveal a bottle of some fancy wine no one but Rossi (and Reid, probably) had heard of.
“Good shit, Aaron!” Rossi chuckled, giving Hotch a side hug, as they sat on the floor across from the rest of the team.
They shared lighthearted conversations after that, JJ and Hotch sharing stories about their kids, Spencer and Penelope bonding over Dr. Who while Derek just watched mesmerized, and Rossi seemed a little interested in Emily’s butterfly knife. Eventually they tired themselves out, and decided to turn in, each going to a separate room except JJ and Emily who bunked together.
—————
At around 3, Spencer finally stopped pacing in his room and walked out, heading straight to Morgan’s. He didn’t even think about knocking on the door, but luckily, Morgan was awake watching something on the TV.
“He kid, what’s going on?” He asked, intrigued, and Spencer didn’t let his mind wonder what the covers hid under Derek’s very naked torso.
“Um, about, uh... about your gift...” he scratched his head, struggling to find the right words.
“Is everything ok? Do I have to return it? It’s ok if I do, pret-“ Derek began, getting up from his bed, making his way next to Spencer, and getting cut off by the boy.
“No it’s nothing like that, I just-“ Spencer let out a frustrated sigh as Derek too Spencer’s hand in his. He guided him to sit on his bed, and Spencer immediately fell back, facing the ceiling. “Can I get a do over?” He asked.
“What do you mean?” Derek asked confused, laying down me to him, and they turned and moved until they completely facing each other. Spencer took out a tiny box from his pocket and stared Derek in the eyes.
“I have... something else for you- and you can say no-“ His words started out soft, but turned a little panicky, and Derek just nodded, intrigued. “Ok, so...” he started nervously, not lifting his eyes off the gift in his hand. “My person is the person with the biggest heart I know,” he lifted his gaze momentarily towards Derek before continuing.
“This person manages to get on every single one of my nerves...” he chuckled lightly, “but... they have a special place in my heart. I’d lay my life for them, and I trust them with every part of me. They’re the one I think of when everything is going to shit, and the simple thought of them bring me out of it. They mean more to me then anyone could-“ he tried to swallow his tears, but failed miserably. As tear slipped down his face, he looked up trying to stop the rest of them. “Then anyone could ever imagine...” he smiled sheepishly, as Derek took Spencer’s trembling hands in his own.
Spencer handed him the gift, and Derek took it hesitantly, not taking his eyes off Spencer’s. He opened it to find a ring with the words “bound together through space and time” engraved around the outside and “for 500 years” on the inside. Derek raised his eyebrow and gave the ring back to Spencer, expanding his hand. The boy slid the ring on Derek’s ring finger of his left hand.
“Pretty boy, I-“ Derek let a tear slip down his face, speechless at the gift. He looked at his hand for a few moments before he brought them up to cup Spencer’s face. He placed his lips to Spencer’s, and the boy reciprocated the kiss almost immediately. They broke apart after what felt like an eternity. Spencer chuckled lightly, between the mess of tears they’d made.
“I’ve been waiting so long to do that...” he whispered against Derek’s lips as they smiled. Derek pressed another peck to Spencer’s lips before whispering back.
“I’m glad you finally did... thank you, pretty boy!” He rubbed his thumb on Spencer’s cheek, leaning back in to give him a more passionate kiss. It felt sort of weird that their first kiss was at Rossi’s house, in one of his guest rooms, but laying here with Spencer, kissing him senseless is all Derek could ever ask for. Spencer looked almost angelic under the dim lighting of the room, like his own little angle had come to keep him safe. Even the experience itself felt so surreal to Derek. One could call it, a Christmas Miracle...

Fic: Sunday Mornings 1/?
Notes: Inspired by a conversation with @cosmicclownboy in which we just want to be able to see our two soft boys being allowed to be fluffy muffins together. So what I’ve created is collection of ficlets that I’ve entitled “Sunday Mornings.” It will start with their first Sunday as a couple and follow every Sunday together after that. The current plan is to post a new fic each Sunday to enjoy until the hiatus is over. Wish me luck- I’ve already got 8 weeks worth of material for you guys!

Week 1:
Michael lays in Alex’s bed, unable to sleep. It’s late enough to be considered early for some. He knows it won’t be that long before the sun starts peeking out and waking his boyfriend up. Alex is physically incapable of sleeping in. For now though, Alex is passed out and has been for several hours. And, for the record, not that Michael has ever had any doubt, he’s looking incredibly sexy even in his sleep.
Michael has tried to fall asleep, but he just can’t. He’s been amped up ever since they got home super late from their trip to Albuquerque. Every time he closes his eyes, he can’t get his brain to slow down enough to sleep. He hears every creak, every whistle of the wind, every hum from the fan overhead. He’s highly aware of the way the door squeaks each time it moves, and sure, he could get up and close it, but then he’d just focus on the ticking of the clock.
Instead, he lays here creating an ever growing list of home improvements that he’s going to do when he wakes up in the morning. Because honestly, Alex has lived here for a year. He doesn’t understand how some simple things haven’t been done already. The door alone is a simple enough fix, all it needs is some WD-40. The fan above needs a bolt tightened. The creaking wood is a more time intensive project, but he can’t imagine Alex will fight him on it, especially when Michael offers up his labor for free.
He is itching to start working. If he were back at his own place and unable to sleep, he’d already be out in the junkyard tinkering with a car or down in the bunker running more calculations. Projects, he’s learned, are great for wearing him out to the point where he’s too exhausted to do anything but sleep. But he’s not at his own place, and he’s pretty sure if he moves, he’ll wake Alex up.
And there’s not a force on this Earth strong enough to risk waking Alex up.
He settles into his pillow and watches. Alex is, in most situations, a permanent ball of stress and tension. He’s always hyper alert, scanning every room they enter for potential threats. He thinks he’s sly about it. He hides it very well. But Michael can see it in the way he holds himself back. He notices it more than most, because he sees Alex when he’s not on edge. He gets to witness Alex when he’s relaxed and vulnerable, and so incredibly soft. That’s what he’s like right now.
The stress in his face is gone. He’s wearing a gentle smile that has Michael wanting to know what he’s dreaming about that’s making him so happy. The lines of his back hold no tension. In the faint glow of the moonlight, his skin looks so soft and his scars are barely visible. And he’s just so fucking gorgeous that Michael cannot believe he’s allowed to have this now, whenever he wants.
He bites his lips to keep from smiling like a total idiot, not that anyone would be able to see him beaming like a lovesick fool.
This is the first time that they are doing this sleepover thing on purpose, and despite the fact that he can’t sleep, he pleads to whatever forces of the universe exist that it’s not his last. The whole, spending the night together and waking up in each other’s arms is a magic he’s only been able to experience a handful of times over the last twelve years. And each time, one of them — mainly him — is always surprised to see the other still there. Each time it’s brushed off as an accident because one of them was too tired to leave. Like either of them admitting that they just wanted to be held by the other in the afterglow had been anything to be ashamed of.
Fuck that.
No. Alex had invited him to spend the night tonight. The two of them planned this, all the way down to the breakfast that they are going to make together in the morning. Michael had intentionally stopped by the grocery store yesterday before they headed to Albuquerque to pick up all the ingredients they would need for Alex to bake his homemade cinnamon rolls and for Michael to make omelettes.
He reaches out to run his hands through Alex’s newly cut hair. Micheal loves the look on him. It’s incredibly attractive. When Michael had first seen it, he’d pulled Alex into the car and made out with him for a solid hour, like they were 17 again. But, he will selfishly miss the excuse to reach out and brush Alex’s longer locks out of his eyes.
Then again, they are boyfriends now. He doesn’t need an excuse anymore to reach out and touch. Alex is his and he is Alex’s.
This time, he doesn’t try and hide the goofy smile that overtakes his face. He’s still not sure how they got here or that he trusts things to stay this way… but he’s determined to allow himself this happiness and not do anything to blow this up. His self-destructive days are behind him. This time, he isn’t going to push at Alex until he leaves, he’s going to hold him close and make sure he knows that he’s loved. This time, he’s going to make sure Alex has every reason in the world to stay.
“Did you sleep at all?” Alex whispers, startling Michael. His eyes are still closed, but he’s awake.
He allows his hand to travel from it’s spot in Alex’s hair to rest against the back of his neck.
“I get it,” Alex says when Michael doesn’t respond. “I have a hard time sleeping in a new place for the first time, too.”
Michael doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t need to. Alex’s words tell him that he sees him. He knows Michael well enough to understand without any explanation. Instead, Michael’s hand moves down Alex’s back and dips under the sheet, causing Alex to hum happily. Now that Alex is awake, there’s no reason not to touch.
“Next time, I’ll make sure I wear you out enough that sleep won’t be as hard,” Alex says, reaching over to pull at Michael. They both roll over until Michael is laying on top of Alex, cradled between his thighs. It’s only then, that Alex finally opens his eyes.
“Good morning.” Alex smiles up at him, happily.
Michael leans over to give him a long, slow, lazy kiss. When he pulls away, he notices Alex chasing his lips.
“God, I love you.”
Alex beams at him. Literally beams. And Michael decides that breakfast can wait a few more hours, because he’s got plans to make sure that Alex feels utterly worshiped. It’s Sunday, neither of them have anywhere to be. There is all the time in the world.

Isn’t It Cliché? Chapter 1
Ship: DaiSuga (Haikyuu!!)
Summary: “Suga almost dropped the pen he was holding as he saw what was probably the most handsome man he has ever seen enter the Starbucks. He looked extremely tired, and Suga wondered if he was hungover. He had short brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes, and Suga couldn’t help but notice his biceps straining the fabric of his shirt as he took off his coat. Quickly pushing away any impure thoughts, Suga put on his best employee smile as he took his order.”
Sugawara Koushi moves to Tokyo with a broken heart and a desire to start over and falls for a handsome stranger that frequents the coffee shop he works at. Unfortunately, it’s harder for Suga to get him to open up than he thought. It’s all pretty cliché.

A/N: This fic has become somewhat of a passion project of mine, I hope you enjoy it! I already posted 5 chapters on ao3, so feel free to read the rest (and all the tags) on there! I will try and post the chapters as regularly as uni will let me! The fic is under the cut :)
“Fuck, I’m already late,” Sugawara groaned as he finally awoke with his third alarm. It was his first day at his new job and he really needed the money, so being late was not an option and it was already 7:32 am. He dressed in a hurry, popping some toast into the toaster as he gathered all his things. He ran outside his apartment with one shoe still untied, his coat barely over his shoulders, and the piece of toast in his mouth. I can’t get any more cliché , Sugawara thought to himself as he ran down the stairs to run to the subway. Thankfully, there was a subway stop right by his apartment building and he lived only a few stops away from the Starbucks he got hired at.
As he stepped outside, the crisp autumn air hit his face and he instantly lifted his head to smell the fresh air. Autumn was his favourite season, mainly because the world turned golden brown for a few weeks and the sunsets were phenomenal. He couldn’t wait to explore the new city he moved to and watch the sunset from all around the city. He pushed the thought aside as he swallowed the last piece of toast and walked into the station, focussed on finding the right platform. He constantly checked his phone to see which stop he needed to get out at, still unsure about his orientation skills in Tokyo. Even though he visited the city multiple times as a kid, he knew that getting lost was inevitable. He watched the sun rise higher over the city as the subway continued on its journey, cramped full of people going to their 9 to 5. When his stop came up, he pushed himself out of the cart, cursing himself that he was so far back. He hated inconveniencing people.
Despite all the hassle, he managed to be in front of the Starbucks ten minutes early, signaling to his coworker already inside that he was there. Once the manager gave him his apron, she left Sugawara’s coworker to show him the ropes. Although he had already been employed at a Starbucks before, it was protocol to explain how everything worked, so he listened diligently to his coworker, who was called Yamaguchi Tadashi.
“It’s the busiest right before 9 am and after 4 pm, so you’ll be with at least two other people then. Our other colleague will be here any minute, but you’ll only take orders and work at the cash register today. That sound good?” Suga nodded, impressed at how the other took charge. When he first met him after his interview, he seemed so shy and insecure, but he was clearly in his element. Despite Sugawara being two years Yamaguchi’s elder, he did not dare speak informally to him yet, quite frankly intimidated by his authority. As soon as Yamaguchi seemed pleased with Sugawara’s work, a gorgeous woman, no older than Sugawara, walked in, and he couldn’t help but blush a little bit as she turned to him and wished him a good morning.
“I’m Kiyoko Shimizu, I’m the shift manager and I’ll be working the orders with Tadashi today, it’s nice to meet you.” She gave a shy smile and he nodded at her.
“Nice to meet you, Kiyoko-san! I’m Sugawara Koushi, but you can call me Suga.” He flashed her a smile to emphasize how happy he was to meet her.
“Oh no need for the honorifics, we’re all the same age group and I’m not a big fan of formalities. Just call me Kiyoko!” Suga smiled and nodded as she walked to the back of the store to put down her things and get her apron.
Yamaguchi didn’t lie when he said that most people come through before 9 am, as the shop got extremely busy within minutes. Most of the time, the orders were pretty simple and Suga’s endless patience seemed to serve him well. He didn’t mind taking up orders, knowing that making all those complicated drinks were oftentimes less fun to make, especially if it was busy. But Yamaguchi and Kiyoko seemed to know each other extremely well, making their work ethic impeccable.
Suga didn’t even notice how fast the time went by, and when he next looked at the clock that adorned the wall opposite the till he saw it was already 10h30am. The shop was quieter now that most people got their morning coffee before work, and the three could have short conversations between customers.
“So what do you study?” Kiyoko asked, biting down on a cinnamon roll a customer decided they didn’t want after Yamaguchi had already warmed it up.
“I’m in my second year of Japanese Studies and Elementary Education. I transferred here this year because my old uni was not a good fit for me. What about you?” He asked his peers, who in turn said what they studied. Yamaguchi was an engineering major and Kiyoko was in her last Bachelor's year of studying History of Art. They were interrupted as a customer opened the door. Suga almost dropped the pen he was holding as he saw what was probably the most handsome man he has ever seen enter the Starbucks. He looked extremely tired, and Suga wondered if he was hungover. He had short brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes, and Suga couldn’t help but notice his biceps straining the fabric of his shirt as he took off his coat. Quickly pushing away any impure thoughts, Suga put on his best employee smile as he took his order. He tried his best to hide the blush that slowly crept over his cheeks as he heard how gruff the man’s voice sounded.
“I’ll have a caramel frappuccino with three extra pumps of caramel syrup and an extra shot of espresso.” The man said, which surprised Suga for some reason. He didn’t expect the man to have such a sweet drink but he refused to let the shock show on his face as he asked for the customer’s name to write on the cup.
“Sawamura.” He gruffed, barely looking up at the barista. Suga figured he was too hungover and/or tired so he didn’t think much of it as he wrote his name on the cup with a little smiley face next to it, handing Kiyoko the cup. When his order was done, he sat down where he put his coat and immediately plugged his headphones into his phone, and started typing on his laptop.
“He most definitely forgot an assignment he was supposed to write during break.” Yamaguchi giggled as they all secretly watched the man type furiously.
“Do you know who he is?” Suga asked, trying to sound as casual as possible. The other two just shrugged.
“No. He comes here a few times a month and orders ridiculously sweet drinks. He usually stays a few hours.” Kiyoko answered, seeming uninterested. Suga nodded and decided to drop the matter. Soon there were more people coming in and out of the café and Suga was too busy to pay him any more mind. He met one other of his coworkers as Yamaguchi’s shift ended earlier. He was small and energetic, and Suga found out that he studied sports. Makes sense, Suga thought to himself as he smiled at how much energy Hinata seemed to have.
After his shift finally ended, Suga was glad to get back to his small apartment. It wasn’t anything big or fancy, but it was enough for him. There were some unpacked boxes still in one corner of the apartment that he had neglected the entire week in favour of exploring the city. He wasn’t big on decorating except for a string of fairy lights and a big houseplant his best friend gave him when he moved away.
The one thing he was thankful for in his small apartment was his bathtub. Even though it wasn’t exactly the biggest bathtub he had ever seen, he was very fond of it. It was the perfect size for him, even though he had to bend his knees to comfortably have his shoulders underwater. He loved taking hot baths after a long day, letting the hot water ease the aches and pains of the day, getting lost in his thoughts with nothing but two candles illuminating his small bathroom. Today was no different. As he sank into the mixture of bubbles and warm water, he let his mind wander, phone on silent. He mentally planned out the next week because that was when his classes would officially be starting. He made a mental note of all the things he still needed to do before bed as he closed his eyes, letting the warmth of the bath engulf him. Subconsciously, his mind wandered back to that man from the Starbucks this morning. What was his name again? Sam… Something. No, Sawamura, that was it. He couldn’t help but remember how handsome he looked, even though he seemed to be having the hangover of his life. Suga wondered what he would look like with a good night’s rest and maybe if he wasn’t that grumpy or stressed out. Sighing, he tried to push the image of the handsome stranger out of his mind. He was done falling for people and getting into relationships for now anyways, especially with what happened with his ex… He left him with a broken heart and trust issues, and he didn’t think he’d be able to go through that kind of pain again anytime soon.
God, you’re so pathetic , Suga thought to himself. Are you really planning your future with some guy? Just because he’s handsome and mysterious and most definitely out of your league? And most probably painfully heterosexual… Get a grip on yourself.
He sighed and opened his eyes, pulling himself out of the bathtub, drying himself off, and getting ready for bed. Tomorrow was going to be a hell of a day, mainly because he had no idea what to expect from his new University, especially how the people were going to be.
He fell asleep the instant his head touched the pillow, content he could finally fall into a dreamless slumber.

Suga woke up with a start, confused as to why his alarm rang even though it was still dark out. When he looked at his phone, he realised that it was not his alarm but, in fact, his best friend trying to FaceTime him. Sighing, he accepted the call.
“Asahi, what do you want? It’s almost one a.m.” Suga groaned, rubbing his face.
“Oh no did I wake you? Sorry! But also I’m not sorry because you promised we’d call today! Didn’t think you’d forget..” Asahi said on the other side of the phone and Suga mentally slapped himself.
“Right, sorry… I forgot… Today was a lot and I just got settled at work and… Ugh… I’m sorry. But I’m here now! How was your day?” Suga asked, trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes.
“No worries! Just wanted to check in to see if you were still alive. My day was alright, I’m getting ready for tomorrow and I’m kinda nervous.” Suga could tell that Asahi was more than “a bit nervous” so he sat up in bed, facing the camera in earnest.
“You’ll do great! Uni is hard but it’s important to remember that every single first-year goes through the same! I promise it’ll be alright!” Asahi only frowned in response to his encouragement, clearly skeptical.
“But you have it so easy, Suga. It’s so difficult for me to talk to new people.” Asahi all but pouted. Suga sighed.
“Yeah I know, but I promise you a lot of people are the same, and you being like that hasn’t stopped us from being friends, right?” Suga prompted, smiling at the camera.
“Yes, but we were neighbours. Also, we’ve been friends since we were 5. You’re kinda stuck with me.” Asahi smiled and Suga just shook his head.
“You’re so stubborn. You’ll be fine! You can always text me if you get anxious but please try and at least talk to one person. Can you do that for me?” Suga asked and he could see Asahi calm down the more they talked.
“Yes, I’ll try. Alright, tell me about your day!” Asahi said excitedly, leaning his face closer to the camera.
“Oh, it was nice actually! I mean it was exhausting but my colleagues are super nice! One of them would get along really well with Noya actually, he has so much energy and is so positive, they’d be the best of friends in no time.” Asahi’s face smiled sadly at the mention of his boyfriend. They’ve been long-distance for four months and Suga knew how much his best friend missed him.
“But yeah the other people are really kind as well. Remember that shy boy that was working when I had my interview? Turns out he is actually a badass behind the counter and he could shit-talk for days.” Suga laughed at that, knowing that Asahi disapproves of anything that has to do with making fun of others.
“I’m glad that your coworkers are nice!! I miss hanging out with you” Asahi said, his face pulled into a frown yet again.
“I do too. But hey I’ll be coming back for a weekend soon and we’ll be able to hang out together!” Suga prompted, trying to stifle a yawn.
“Yes, that’s true. Alright, you look tired, you should sleep” Asahi said, and Suga agreed. His head felt heavy and his eyes were closing despite his will to keep them open.
“We’ll call tomorrow after your first day’s over! I think I’ll be free after 4 pm so just call me when you have time” Suga sleepily smiled at the camera as they said their goodbyes and he immediately fell back asleep.
He awoke the next morning with his first alarm, something that didn’t happen often. He decided to enjoy the morning then, having more than an hour to get to the subway: he had a strong cup of coffee and a bowl of cereal as he mindlessly scrolled through his phone. After sending Asahi a few memes as was his morning ritual, he ran down the stairs to get to his uni. He had visited it a few times before moving, so he was more confident in finding his way from the subway to the doors of the main building.

Its crazy to think that five years have passed, that you have been down in this strange planet for five years. What’s even crazier is that Steve and you have been together for four of those years (almost five). Well maybe dating him for that long wasn't that strange now that you thought it through, mainly because throughout those five years Poe has stuck around, even after the disaster confession that almost destroyed your friendship completely.
And saying that it wasn’t completely changed after that day was a lie, it was just you trying to be optimistic and trying to forget the fact that he hardly talked to you for a year, that he had confessed his love for you, a confession you neither returned or commented anything at all actually. Just left your own confession, the whole conversation locked in a box to never be opened (hopefully not anyway)
Why was the need to do so anyway? It’s been five years. Five years of the both of you just living life and acting as if nothing happened, him trying to date and you forgetting your feelings for your long time friend and being....happy...with Steve. It was all just going great. Really great!
To the point where both Steve and you chose to go on a double date with Poe and his date.
Great.
“It’s not to late to leave, you know?” You whisper to Steve as you get walked to your table, “we can still catch that Rom-com movie we wanted to see.”
Said man chuckles as he pulls your chair for you to sit, pushing it in a couple seconds after before commenting with the same humor, “and miss this great date? No.”
You groan dramatically and drop your head on his shoulder. Letting him wrap his arm around your shoulder and rest his own head on yours, “it won’t be that bad. Poe and you are good right?”
You shrug and lift your head off his shoulder, “yeah. He’s been distant lately but we’re good.”
As if you had been summoning him said man appears, following after the waiter with a small and pretty brunette at his side. They both sit across from Steve and you, the girls eyes landing on you before landing on Steve sitting next to you, a wide grin appearing on her soft features and her eyes almost seeming to give a glow as she keeps staring at Steve all star-struck—a look you now recognized only after seeing them another other people before.
“Hi, I’m so glad you guys could make it.” You greet with a forced smile, “almost thought you were going to bail.”
“You wish.” Poe jokes making your eyes roll. He then moves his hand and places it on the girls back, whispering something in her ear that made her look away from Steve to look at you with the same happy grin. An action that ticked you off for an unknown reason. “Kacy, this is y/n.” Said girl extends her hand out to you.
“Hi it’s so nice to finally meet you! Poe talks about you a lot, almost thought he was making you up.”
You shake her hand and keep your forced smile plastered on your lips, “it’s nice to meet you too.” You glance at Steve to try and introduce him, even you knew she him, “this is Steve.”
Kacy moves to shake his hand, her green eyes once again giving off that sparkle, “it’s such an honor meeting you.” Steve smiles and her eyes keep glued on him as she speaks to Poe, “you never told me we were coming to dinner with Captain America.”
Poe responded with a serious tone that didn’t match his smile at all, “It was a surprise.”
-
After ordering your food, after getting it brought to the table the girl never stopped talking. But unlike the other girls Poe’s dated, Kacy was...how do you say it in a way that didn’t sound rude, uhh..less of an airhead. She actually talked about dilemmas that went on around the world, and or talked about her job as a fashion designer. She was smart, but here’s the thing, every time she talked it was all just directed to Steve. And yes you couldn’t blame her, in her planet he was a famous hero, but she could be considerate to her actual date.
The only moment she even slightly included anybody else was to talk to you, to ask if Steve had proposed yet. It was question that you simply answered with pressed lips and a shake of your head. While Steve chose to stay silent, just making the whole conversation more awkward. Making Poe chug the remainder of his beer to ease the awkward situation on his part, his mood deflating and growing quieter than he already was. Something that let you speak to him to try and at least make him feel somewhat better.
“How you liking it so far?” You questioned Poe, who’s eyes were fixated on his plate, his hand just mindlessly twirling the pasta on his fork, not noticing you asked him something until you repeated your question.
“Oh, uh. It’s good.” He forced, a half smile tugging at his lips, “wouldn’t mind food from home though. I miss it.”
You nod in agreement, sharing a small laugh at a passing memory, “you know what I miss the most? Snaps food creations. His mixture of food from the rations we would get!”
“Yes exactly! Man even if the rations by themselves were tasteless he had a way to just make them taste gourmet.” Poe beamed, “he would always say he was going to retire and become a chef.” His smile faltered at the memory of his fallen friend, “I miss him.”
“Yeah me too.” Noticing Poe’s mood begin to drop back to what it was before, you decided to leave Kacy unbothered and let her talk Steve’s ear off. “I never told you but when we were starting out in the defense fleet, I uhh....” you pause and cringe at your next comment, “I had a crush on Captain Antilles.” You glance up at Poe who now had a wide grin, his white teeth showing perfectly.
“Oh sweetheart I noticed. I would hear you and the other girl pilots gush about him. I would also see the heart eyes you gave that man when he wasn’t looking. But I do think your eyes widened more when we saw Luke Skywalker.” Poe teased, dropping his fork on his plate and fully engaging with your conversation.
“I could’ve died happy that day we saw Luke Skywalker.” You laugh, “plus you can’t blame me, Antilles was a war veteran. He fought alongside Luke Skywalker and General Organa. He was a walking legend and one of my favorite pilots.”
“You said that about Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Anakin Skywalker.” His grin turns smug, leaning himself closer to you to ask a ridiculous question. “If you had to choose between those three and Captain Antilles, who would you chose—”
“Don’t.” You interrupt, “I’m not choosing favorites, that’s impossible.”
“Fine,” Poe shrugged, his smug demeanor never fading, “then who would you choose to join your squadron?”
“Pfft,” You breath, rolling your eyes in a lighthearted way whilst leaning in as he did to respond with the obvious answer, “Easy, Han Solo. Only because he did the Kessel run in 15 parsecs.”
“Ah,” Poe shook his finger before you both corrected your answer in unison, “12 parsecs.” The both of you share a hearty laugh, the moment being like it would be before. Feeling like it was just you two and no one else in the room.
The feeling quickly vanishing as Kacy joined the conversation, “what’s so funny?”
“Oh, uhh.” You glance at Poe, both of your laughs dying off and only leaving faint smiles, “just stuff from back home.”
Kacy nods before turning to Poe, “I think it’s time to go. We’re all done with our food.”
“Sure thing.” Steve agrees, waving over the waiter for the tab.
“How about we all go back to the compound?” Poe oddly suggested, his eyes sliding over to you, “I learned a song on my guitar I would love to play.”
Without verbally asking for an answer, Steve and you shared an unspoken conversation as you both looked to each-other, minutes later sharing out loud your response, “sounds great.”
-
“How about you come over tonight?” Steve asks while tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear, while you wait for Poe to come back down with his guitar. “We can watch a movie? And in the morning I can make you breakfast?”
You wrap your arms around his neck and smile, “watch a movie?”
“Or whatever you want to do.” He grins.
You bite your bottom lip and nod, “a movie is fine.” At the sound of approaching footsteps you pull away and sit on the couch beside Steve, with Kacy sitting at his other side, a huge smile on her red lips as she watched Poe.
“I just learned this, so don’t judge. I’m looking at you y/n.”
“I would never,” You snicker before propping your elbow on the couch’s arm and resting your head on your hand, “go. I won’t judge.”
Poe takes a deep breath before he begins to strum the strings, his eyes downcast and focused on what he was beginning to play, the silent strumming beginning to sound like the tune of a song. A quiet humming coming from the back of his throat before he drawled in another deep breath and slowly began to sing. His voice sounding soft and sweet like the melody of the music, the tune slowly picking up like the lyrics he sang.
His brown eyes coming up for a few seconds to meet your own, a soft smile appearing on his lips as he noticed the amazed expression you carried on your features. Tears slowly thereafter brimming your eyes, the soft smile on your own lips never leaving, the sound of your heart thumping in your chest picking up gradually at the brief glances Poe would share with you. Or at the little things you noticed, like the way his, his eyes briefly closed at certain moments, or the way his eyes crinkled when he sang certain lyrics.
Stars.
The tears that pooled your eyes, quickly ran down your cheeks as the sound of lyrics Poe sang hit your ears, words that touched your heart more than it should have ‘and its been a while but I still feel the same..Maybe I should let you go.’
More hot tears streamed down your cheeks as he continued singing, words that tore your heart in two and made you question everything all over again. Slowly coming to realization about something more, about feelings that never left. The feeling becoming overwhelming to the point that it made you rush out of the room and close yourself in the bathroom.
“Fuck me.” You cursed under your breath, running your hands through your hair before placing them on the counter-top. “What’s wrong with me?” Turning on the faucet you placed your hands under the running water, pulling them to splash your face only to drop the water as you remembered the makeup on your face—which was mostly ruined by the stains the tears left behind. “Stupid.”
The sound of the light tapping on the door made you pull away from the mirror to slowly open the door to see Steve with a worried expression painted on his face—“are you okay?”
You nodded and lied, “yeah, I just wasn’t feeling good.”
“You sure?” He pressed, his hand reaching to caress your cheek.
Responding with a silent hum you walked out back to the living area, meeting Poe gaze for a second before looking away and excusing yourself out to the group.
“It’s been a fun night, I really enjoyed it,” you feign a smile, “but uh I’m not feeling that well, you know I—”
“You’re pregnant?” Kacy interrupted abruptly and too enthusiastically, causing Poe to choke on the water he was drinking and for your eyes and Steve’s own to widen alike.
“What?!” You squeak, “no! Haha no. No. No.” Was that too many “No’s?” “It was the food, I just don’t think it sat well. I’m going to go to bed. It was nice meeting you Kacy.” Without waiting for an answer from anyone you walked away knowing Steve was following.
“Y/n, are you sure you’re okay?” He stressed again.
Turning around you stop before him and nod, “yeah. Is it fine if I go over another night? I’m not feeling okay.”
“Sure.” Steve agreed with hidden disappointment, his eyes catching Poe’s curious gaze on you before he turned away. “Goodnight. I love you.”
You smile sweetly and press a light kiss on his lips, “night.”

Two of Hearts | Ethan x MC (Jane)
Chapter 2: Mediation
Summary: A fluff piece because, Heaven knows, Jane needs it.
Author’s Note: Honestly, I debated including this as its own chapter, but I loved this idea too much not to share it with you all. I wanted to divvy up the romance in this series with a little bit of fluff (mainly because I wanted to include Sienna and Aurora in this series because why not). I’m posting a chapter three tonight, as well. I also wrote Ethan fluff, and I need to share it ASAP too. Enjoy both!

Chapter 1: The Other Woman
The sun’s rays snuck through Jane’s ivory, french curtains, casting a warm glow onto her face. It only took moments for her eyes to flutter open, and, seconds later, her phone rang. She hadn’t even noticed she fell asleep; it took her a long time to clear her head last night. She had told herself that it was going to be a long night, but she was glad her exhaustion proved her wrong.
She rolled onto her back and didn’t make any attempt to reach for her phone. She knew who it was; he had tried calling her sometime last night, too.
Ethan.
A part of her wanted to answer, of course, but she wasn’t sure how willing she was to talk to him. She had hoped he would show up at her door last night, but he didn’t. She should have been eager to answer his call; to hear his voice; to hear whatever he had to say. No matter how eager she might have felt deep down, though, she just couldn’t reach for her phone.
“Jane.” A voice came from the other side of her bedroom door followed by a soft knock. The door opened slowly before Sienna’s head popped in. When she saw that Jane was awake, she stepped into her room. “Good morning, sleepy-head.”
Jane managed a smile. “Good morning.”
Sienna bit her cheek before offering her a sheepish smile, hope practically shimmering in her eyes. “Aurora came home this morning … and we’re making breakfast. Do you want to come help with the pancakes?”
Jane’s eyes darted away momentarily, nervously toying with her fingers. She suddenly remembered her fight with Aurora at the softball game - how angry she had gotten after Dr. Tobias Carrick revealed to her exactly how he’d found out about Edenbrook’s intention to study their coma patient. Admittedly, she did feel slightly embarrassed that she let her temper get the best of her.
Jane cared strongly for Edenbrook, for helping herself and her friends keep their jobs. But she also cared for Aurora, and, quite frankly, she was tired of arguing with the people she cared about.
Her attention returned to Sienna as she sat up with a nod. “Sure, I’ll be out there in a minute.”
Sienna grinned, bouncing excitedly, as she hurried out of her room and closed the door behind her.
Jane took a moment before getting up, her eyes wandering toward her phone that rested on her pillow. She stayed like that until she heard soft laughter emanate from the kitchen. Taking a deep breath, she rolled out of bed and pulled on a pair of stray black shorts she found near her closet.
As she exited her room and walked toward the kitchen, throwing her hair into a ponytail, she attempted to brace herself for seeing Aurora again. When she rounded the corner, she locked eyes with Aurora and instantly knew she hadn’t been the only one bracing for what was to come next.
“Hey,” Jane said softly.
Aurora eyed her nervously. “... hey.”
Sienna’s smile died on her lips as she turned to see Jane standing at the edge of the counter, hesitating to step forward. She quickly slid a glass bowl toward her with a quirked eyebrow. “You’re on pancake duty, Jane.”
Jane’s eyes momentarily flickered down to the bowl. “Are we making pancakes from scratch?”
Sienna looked offended, eyes widening. “Of course.”
Jane walked closer, grabbing the bowl and proceeding to add ingredients as Sienna directed. They all moved around the kitchen; the tense air quickly waned as Sienna made the effort to strike up a conversation about a few patients she’d met in the clinic.
As Sienna turned to start a pot of coffee, Jane let her eyes glance over at Aurora, who was casting her eyes down at a small bowl in front of her. Sienna asked her to make the blueberry sauce for their pancakes, and Aurora looked as if she would rather be on coffee duty.
Jane’s lips curled slightly. “Have you added the lemon juice yet?”
Aurora’s face gave way to a moment of shock before she furrowed her eyebrows, giving the blueberries an annoyed stir. “I’m horrible at this,” she grumbled.
Jane couldn’t help a snort that escaped her lips, and Aurora’s eyes cut towards her in shared amusement. A moment passed before Aurora sat her spoon down and looked at her.
“Are you still mad at me?” She asked Jane. “I guess I would understand. I thought about what you said, and I really should have known.” Her shoulders seemed to slump. “I just wanted to show Tobias the good we could do, too. I’m tired of the back and forth competition, you know?”
“I’m not mad at you,” Jane said shortly, without missing a beat.
Aurora reeled from surprise. “Wait - you’re not?”
Jane shook her head in response. “I was angry at the game, sure. Tobias stole the one real chance I thought I had at saving Edenbrook - at saving our jobs.” Jane paused, looking into Aurora’s wide brown eyes. “I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions, though. You are my friend, Aurora, even if you chose to wear Mass Kenmore on your coat.”
Even though she tried to hide it by looking down, Jane could tell Aurora was fighting back a grin.
“Besides,” Jane started, smirking, “we did beat you at softball.”
Aurora scoffed, though nothing but good-natured humor glistened in her eyes. “You got lucky.”
“Yeah? Well, we’ll see next year,” Jane teased.
They shared a smile before her eyes were drawn toward the sound of her pager, ringing from her jacket that was strewn across the couch.
Aurora sighed, allowing an apologetic smile to creep onto her lips, “I’m sorry, guys.”
Sienna walked over to her, taking the spoon and the bowl of half-made blueberry sauce. “Don’t worry about it. Duty calls.”
Aurora threw one last look at Jane, a shy smile playing on her lips, before jogging out of the kitchen.
Jane looked at Sienna with a smile. “I’m sure Jackie and Elijah will be here soon. Where’d they go, anyway?”
“I think they both went to the hospital.”
“Of course they did,” Jane replied. She cracked an egg before noting, “We haven’t spent time alone together in awhile.”
They were the only two in the kitchen now. With the smell of coffee in the air and the warmth of the sun on her back, Jane felt content just for a moment. Just for a moment, she didn’t think of Ethan, or of the clinic, or of Edenbrook. Just for a moment, she was happy, mixing her pancake batter and watching Sienna remove bacon from the fridge.
“I suppose we haven’t,” Sienna replied.
The two finished making breakfast with light and hearty conversation, eventually carrying their plates and cups of coffee to the table. They sat across from each other; Jane digging in nearly immediately to sate her growling stomach.
Sienna reached for the blueberry sauce, giving Jane a cautious look. “So, how are you after …?”
Jane didn’t respond for a moment. “How about we start with you?” She threw Sienna a suggestive smirk. “How’re you and Danny?”
“You’re deflecting.” Sienna laughed, drizzling the blueberries over her pancakes.
“Oh, good. It’s working, then?”
Sienna rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t wipe her smile from her face. “Danny and I are good,” she began. Though, her smile quickly gave way to a frown. “I haven’t been able to talk to him much, though.”
“Why?”
“I’ve just been really caught up … with work,” Sienna admitted. She busied herself with her food, ignoring Jane’s gaze, “It’s been hard to do much of anything these days.”
Jane nodded in agreement. “But … does this have anything to do with Mitch?” When she didn’t get a response, Jane warned, “Sienna.”
Sighing, Sienna finally confessed, “Okay. Maybe Mitch isn’t necessarily helping.”
“Is he still making you do his work for him?”
“No,” Sienna countered. Jane gave her a look, and she sighed once more. “It’s just, he keeps asking me to handle patients for him, especially if it’s a harder case.”
Jane frowned. “Sienna, you can’t keep doing things for him.”
“I know,” she replied. She looked as if she wanted to talk about literally anything else, so she asked, “How are things with Esme?”
At the sound of her intern's name, Jane looked down. After a moment’s hesitation, she answered. “Sometimes I feel like I should be there more. It’s just - between the clinic and the team, I feel like I’m not being there for her.”
Jane didn’t have to say it, but Sienna knew what she was thinking. Maybe Victoria was right.
Sienna frowned. “Jane, I know you’re a good teacher. I saw you the other day - talking to Esme in the cafeteria. You are there for her.” Jane tried to believe her, but she still felt the weight of guilt on her shoulders. Sienna must have noticed because her gaze turned serious. “Don’t let Dr. Robbins make you question yourself, Jane. Don’t let her make you question anything.”
When Jane returned her gaze, she knew Sienna was talking about something else entirely. She was talking about Ethan.
“What happened anyway?” Sienna asked.
Jane exhaled deeply before deciding it best to let it out. So, she did. She told Sienna exactly what happened between her and Ethan in the hallway the day before. Jane had gone over the argument in her head for a good portion of the night, so it was fairly fresh in her mind. It didn’t, however, stop the wave of pain she felt when she finished,
“Wow,” Sienna commented. Jane nodded, poking at her pancakes in silence. “Has he tried to call you?”
“Yeah.”
“And you don’t answer?”
“No.”
“Why not?” Sienna studied her for a moment. “Do you miss him?”
Jane thought of him for longer than she dared to since their conversation in the hallway. For a moment, her guarded expressions and practiced smiles gave way to her true emotions. She thought of his eyes, his hair, and his scent. Him. Ethan. If she were being honest, everything about him was almost too intoxicating; yet, she loved him anyway.
“I do,” she finally admitted. “I just don’t know what to say. I know I’ll see him at hospital tomorrow, and I know I should answer. It’s just … how do you not have that kind of conversation face-to-face?”
“You don’t,” Sienna answered easily. Jane didn’t try to hide her disappointment, and Sienna added, “You know, Wayne and I never argued, not like that. We never really talked long enough to argue.” Jane looked at her, and Sienna gave her a meaningful look. “Only two people who really care about each other argue like that.”
Jane furrowed her eyebrows thoughtfully; she hadn’t thought about it in that way. She swallowed hard before looking at Sienna gratefully. “Thank you.”
“I’ll always be here, Jane,” She reassured. “You’re allowed to have time to think about your own feelings. Besides, what is meant to happen, will happen.”
Jane looked at her for a moment before a teasing smile crept onto her face. “When did you get so good at talking about relationships?”
“I’m always good at talking about everything,” Sienna countered.
A laugh escaped both of their lips as they returned to their breakfast, exchanging teasing remarks and light jokes until Jackie and Elijah came through the front door.
~
“Are you sure you don’t want to come with us?” Sienna asked.
Jane stood a few feet from their front door, watching as her roommates hesitated in the threshold. “I’m positive. You guys go. Have fun before it gets too late.”
Despite their protests, Jane eventually shooed them out of their apartment and on their way to Donahue’s. She told them, and herself, she wasn’t going because she wanted to study up for the team’s newest patient, but, admittedly, she wanted to be on the other side of the door in case Ethan ever decided to knock on it.
She padded over to the couch and flopped down, turning on a movie as the sudden patter of rain began to sound outside. Ethan had called again, only thirty minutes before. Her eyes peered down at his name, and her thumb hovered over, and darted away from, his contact several times.
Her desire to return his call slowly began burning in the pit of her stomach as she thought of the sound of his voice. Thunder rumbled overhead, and the rain intensified. For a moment, her eyes flickered toward the windows as a streak of lightning pierced the sky and drenched the living room in a brief, but bright, shade of blue.
The sound of the harsh rain lulled her desire, and she slowly reached forward to place her phone on the table in front of her. She almost settled in to watch her movie when a knock sounded, sending her heart plummeting into her stomach. Frozen, she sat there until another knock sounded - more insistent this time.
Before she lost her nerve, she stood and hurried over to the door. But, when she opened it, her face fell.
“Farley,” she said.
He raised an eyebrow. “Were you expecting someone else?”
Swallowing hard, she crossed her arms and looked up at her landlord. “What is it now? Did another check bounce?”
“No.” He mirrored her, crossing his own arms. “Mrs. Edelstein complained again about too much … activity going on in your apartment late at night.”
Jane’s eyebrows furrowed in disbelief, and she scoffed. “She does realize that there are five interns that live here, right?”
Farley rolled his eyes. “Look, I don’t know. Just … try to keep it down. I don’t need Mrs. Edelstein calling my phone again.”
He didn’t bother to wait for her reply. Instead, he sulked off down the hallway, and Jane huffed before closing the door. She hadn’t yet stepped any more than two steps away before another knock sounded. Out of annoyance, she turned to fling the door open. But, every inch of her froze and her lips parted slightly as she looked up at the man in front of her.
“Ethan?” She breathed. “What are you doing here?”
He stood there – hair dripping wet and clinging to his forehead – with a look on his face that resembled a painful mix of longing and sorrow. Jane stared up at him as if he were a dream, like Sienna would pinch her awake at any moment.
But this wasn’t a dream, and Ethan was really here. He was here, standing with a green, rain-slicked jacket and fresh rain drops slipping down the sides of his face. The subtle shiver that raked his body was enough to make her snap out of her trance and quickly step aside, opening the door a bit wider.
He huddled inside, running a hand through his wet hair in an attempt to slick it back and out of his face. Jane slowly shut the door as if too much noise might ruin the moment – as if making any sudden movements might wreck the delicate tension between the two of them.
So, she closed the door, as quietly as she could, and waited a beat to turn around. She knew that facing him right now, in this moment, would be enough to make every word die on her lips.
And she was right.
The moment she turned around, her eyes met his, and every angry thought, hurt feeling, and painful disbelief made her choke on any word that dared escape her lips.

Adore You PT.2
Pairing: Topper x Reader
Summary: Reader moved to the OBX two years ago. One year in she started dating Topper Thornton. Our once feisty reader, is now struggling with an identity crisis (this is shit but its 230 where i am)
Word Count: 2.4k+
Warnings: Drugs and Alcohol, and some cursing. That should be all.
Additional: This part two go read part one . tagging @goddsquad again because one of her posts inspired me to do this
Part 1
Things were finally good. For the first time in two years you weren’t desperate to get off the island. Things were very different for you, and you didn’t mind it. Last year after that night, you and Topper hung out. Matter of fact you had begun hanging out with your brother’s friend group. He wasn’t happy, but you were able to black mail him over your knowledge of him and his new found love for cocaine. Although he swears it was just the one time. So life began to change a little bit for you. That summer was magical, and you owed it all to your drunk self walking in on your brother doing a line of coke. You had begun dating Topper in late July. Since then things had only gone up hill for you, at school people were actually talking to you. You had actual kook girls talking to you, and deep down you knew they were doing it because of your boyfriend, and/or brother. The brother part wasn’t new to you though. But being Topper’s girlfriend wasn’t easy; you had a new reputation to uphold, his family’s. You didn’t think much of it, until his mother pulled you aside one day. Topper’s mother scared the shit of you. She always gave you this glare, even before you even knew Topper. You were fairly sure she was a part of the neighborhood women who enjoyed talking about you. Your suspicions were only confirmed when she talked to you. She told you to put away the whole charade, act like a real lady, and to stop dressing like a whore. When you got home you cried for hours, but you loved Topper. You loved him so much that you would put up with it. So you changed yourself, your bright eyeshadows were saved for going out and partying, the little gemstones you’d stick to your face were in a drawer collecting dust, no more low cut shirts, or low coverage bottoms. There were days where you’d look in the mirror, and a stranger would be staring back at you. And it was foolish, how less then a year ago you didn’t care what anyone on this stupid island thought of you, but ever since people started to acknowledge your existence in a somewhat positive way you missed having that attention. You didn’t want it to go away, so you did what you needed to. You didn’t expect him too, but Topper started to notice. He’d ask about it here and there and you’d tell him you just didn’t feel like going through the whole process of getting ready. He believed you and then you’d get back to whatever the two of you were doing. And it worked for the two of you, and you weren’t exactly sure what love felt like but this felt like it. So you were willing to do whatever you needed to, to stay with him.
Dinner parties you hated them. Always had, and probably always will. But the thing with suddenly becoming a part of the elite of the elite Kooks, was they threw a lot of them. Coincidentally the Thorntons had this huge party, every year where practically everyone on the figure eight was invited. You remembered the one last year, you were in New York much to your mother's dismay but it was your best friend’s birthday and you wouldn’t miss it for the world. But of course you couldn’t skip it this year. You dreaded Friday evening, looking for an excuse to get away but of course the time came and you had to start getting ready.
You needed to be simple. You never thought you’d think like that, but here you were. You had gone out towards the mainland, last weekend with a bunch of your ‘girlfriends’. The only reason you were all friends was because your boyfriends were all friends, and it worked ever so slightly. You all were able to benefit each out, in your case they were able to help you dress for the occasion. They helped you pick out this flowery flowy white dress, it ended just about your knees, it had a scooped neckline that didn’t show off too much, and it had little sleeves. Deep down you hated how boring it was, but the only thing running through your mind was ‘Mrs. Thornton would love this.’ You hated to admit it but you’d do anything to impress her. Your friends helped you buy some Anastasia Beverly Hills palette, they said the neutrals would be really useful and would make you achieve that natural no makeup makeup look. You always thought no makeup makeup looks were silly but to each their own. What your friends didn't know was you bought another pair of lashes on the way out of Ulta. No matter how toned down you made yourself look, you always had lashes. They were your one few sources of freedom. You pulled out the dress, staring at it. White went well with your tan, maybe that's why you always managed to slip the color into your outfits. You pulled out the dress, sliding it on. You stared into your mirror, but you weren’t staring back. It was another girl, a girl who looked like she was born and raised a kook. Someone who hadn’t seen much in life, and was going to live a boring uneventful life. And you couldn’t believe it was you, but maybe this was who you were turning into… a trophy wife. You ignored that thought, walking over to your vanity to do your makeup. And once you were done, you looked back at the mirror. The only thing that said you was your lashes, and you were content with that for now. You grabbed your phone, and the little bag from the first time you really met Topper. It was your go to party bag, it had enough room for everything, and black went with everything.
Arriving at your boyfriend’s house was no different than the hundreds of times you’ve done it before. You guys were early, of course you had to be. It was so weird how dating in the Outer Banks, no matter how old you were your families became a family together. So your mother went off with Topper’s mother, your little brother trailing behind. Your father and older brother went off with Topper’s dad already talking about golf, and boats and whatever men liked to talk about. Which left you to find Topper. You went up the stairs taking the familiar route to his room, and of course he was there working on something at his desk. You knew a lot of people thought he was just another rich egotistical asshole. But deep down, he wasn’t, he worked his ass off in school always trying his best to impress his dad, and he cared about you so much. You two weren’t big on PDA, it was mainly you but he respected you enough. You just didn’t want to hear shit about you kissing your boyfriend so you just didn’t do it in public. But in private he was the most caring, gentle, sweetest human being to you. Sometimes you felt like you weren’t good enough, there were so many girls on the island he could’ve chosen. Girls who were more put together, able to be presentable at all times. Ones who fit in with the dinner party crowds, were able to have proper conversations with adults, and were able to be the center of attention but in a good way. You tried to put your negative thoughts behind, wanting to leave them at the door. You gently knocked on the door frame, a smile on your face.
“Hey”
You watched him turn around, a large smile spread across his face as he stood up from his chair. He casually walked over to you, and brought his hands to your cheeks. He leaned down, as you leaned forward practically melting into the kiss, Of course he pulled away first, looking you up and down once again.
“You look...different.”
“Different?”
“It’s just so… toned down.”
“Well I mean it’s a dinner party so I didn’t want too you know, do the whole thing.”
You could see him pondering, and then choosing to ignore it becoming distracted by whatever had popped up next in his mind.
“I just remembered I got you something. And before you say anything, consider it an early anniversary gift, even though you said you didn’t want to do anything for it. I just saw this, the last time I was on the mainland and had to get them for you.”
Gifts, that was one of Topper’s specialties. It was a little more excessive when you first began dating, until you told him how you felt. But every now and then for some holiday or something he’d get you something extravagant. It sucked because you weren’t good at giving gifts, you liked making memories instead of giving gifts.
“Top…”
“Just close your eyes okay?”
You obliged as you felt him move closer to you, his hot breath practically on your neck. You waited patiently, until you felt the cool familiar feeling of a chain wrapping around your neck. You could feel his thumbs graze across your neck, as you assumed he was fumbling with the clasp.
“Open”
You slowly opened your eyes, looking across at the mirror. It was a small silver necklace, with a little blueish gem at the center of the chain. And it felt like too much.
“Topper, I don’t deserve this.”
“Yes you do, it’s a gift for me too. It’ll remind me of how we’ve been together for a year everytime you wear it.
“I didn’t even get you anything. We promised each other no gifts.”
“It doesn’t matter Y/N you’re all I need really.”
You stared at the mirror, at the two of you standing in it. You weren’t exactly sure how to react to this whole situation, it just made you feel like a worse girlfriend.
“Thank you… I’m going to go see if I can help downstairs.”
You gave him a small peck, before turning back out the door and down the stairs.
A special note about Kooks, they don’t care about drinking laws. So basically anyone over the age of sixteen was drinking. You didn’t really realize you were drinking a lot. You had built up such a tolerance, that you didn’t realize you were drunk. You kept filling up your glass with wine, not that the adults were even bothered at paying attention. In fact you were fairly certain no one's eyes were on you, for the first time since you could remember. No one was paying attention to you, or so you thought. From across your seat Topper, was watching you slyly he could see you taking drink after drink, mentally counting them.
After dinner everyone was socializing, but you were very drunk. You tried your best at hiding it, sitting down, distancing yourself from those around. It was a good thing that most of the adults were too distracted or drunk to notice you. God you were such a shitty girlfriend. You were definitely an embarrassment. You stood up from your spot, trying to find a room that was empty. You stumbled here and there but you made it to the living room, although it wasn’t really a living room. Point was you just needed to get past everyone and you were good. You were just about to get through the whole crow when a certain blonde caught your eye. Topper was talking to some girl, you believed her name was Chelsea but you didn’t really care. What you cared up was the way she’d occasionally touch his arm, and look at him. And honestly it just made everything you were feeling worse. You could see he wasn’t exactly comfortable, but your drunken state wasn’t paying attention to that factor. You cared about how that was supposed to be you, instead of being drunk, and you couldn’t help the thought of you being a shitty girlfriend running through your mind again. It was only until Topper saw you did you move, you moved past the crowd, heading up the stairs into one of the empty guest rooms despite the calls of your name. You really shouldn’t of been surprised when he came in not even moments later shutting the door behind him.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah just peachy, why do you ask?”
“Look Y/N you freaked out about the necklace but is that really all that’s going on? You’ve been so different these past couple of months.”
He stepped closer to you, gently taking your hands into yours. And that’s when the tears began to flow.
“I’m a shitty girlfriend.”
“No you’re not”
“Yes I am.”
“Y/N I don’t care about some stupid anniversary gift.”
“No it’s not that, I’m not a perfect Kook. I’m not even a good one.”
“Y/N I don’t car-”
“We should break up.”
“Y/N/“
“I’m serious, your mom would be so happy. She hates me.”
“I don’t care about what she thinks.”
“Well I do, and I can’t stand here knowing you deserve better. You deserve someone, who’ll accept all your gifts no questions asked, someone who doesn’t get drunk at dinner parties, someone who doesn’t dress like I do, someone who knows how to do natural makeup, and talk like a proper lady-”
“Y/N”
“You just deserve better Top, I don’t deserve you. I’m a mess compared to you and your family.”
“Y/N I don’t care.”
“Well maybe you should. Maybe you should care how clueless I am when it comes to stuff like this. You deserve some prissy, perfect girl not me, I’m just a fucking mes-”
You were shut up by a kiss. Topper pulled back, looking at you while wiping your tears with his thumb.
“Y/N. I don’t want some prissy princess. I want you. You’re absolutely gorgeous inside and out. I don’t want you to be like the other girls on the island. I want you to be you, that’s why I fell in love with you. And that’s why I still love you, so can you please just be quiet and let me adore you?”
You gave him a small nod, and it was once again sweet and gentle. And for the first time you felt like a weight had been lifted. You didn’t care what anyone thought anymore because Topper loved you, he loved you for you and quite frankly that’s all that mattered.

Previous Chapter
Anna never thought there’d be a day that she’d see Kristoff in pink, but it wasn’t a bad look on him at all. She really appreciated him coming to the Breast Cancer 5k Run to support her. Of course, Elsa and Gerda had accompanied them too.
While Elsa and Kristoff only wore their matching t-shirts and running gear (which were Anna’s idea--Gerda wasn’t running so she didn’t need one, but she did wear her own pink top in support), Anna wore a pink tutu, pink socks, and a bright pink bow in her curly, bobbed auburn strands. She was quite proud of her decked out pink ensemble. Kristoff also called her cute, so that was even more of a win in Anna’s book.
Anna wanted pictures before the three of them got super gross and sweaty from running, and Gerda happily obliged her when she hooked arms with her sister and boyfriend and forced them to pose with her. Neither seemed to complain, though, which she was thankful for. When Gerda handed her the phone back, Anna was thrilled to see how well the photo turned out. In fact, she was even tempted to post it. She hadn’t posted on any social media in ages, aside from private stories on Snapchat. But she figured… maybe it was time. Maybe, it was finally time to come out with everything she’d been through. The photo itself was very telling. Each shirt had its own message: Elsa’s read “I run for my sister,” Kristoff’s: “I run for my girlfriend” (which Anna loved ) and Anna’s read: “I run for ME.” And damn, she meant it.
She hadn’t been very vocal about her break up with Hans… but better late than never, right? Besides, maybe it was time to show off her new man. Her shiny, new upgrade, she mused to herself.
Kristoff hadn’t posted anything about their relationship either. He told her he’d wait until she was ready to make the information public. Even telling her he wouldn’t tell his family either, but Anna didn’t feel that was fair and encouraged him to be honest with his parents. Including the cancer.
Apparently, Bulda was very insistent on meeting her soon. Her boyfriend explained that his parents had moved out of Arendelle to Rock Valley right after he graduated, but he opted to stay in the area. She could understand that considering what the family had been through. So, they’d decided they’d make a weekend out of it soon and drive up to his parents’ house in the next few weeks. Anna would be lying if she wasn’t nervous--but also extremely excited. Meeting the Bjorgmans would be a wonderful experience, she was sure. But at the same time, she didn’t want to bring up anything she shouldn’t. She didn’t want to be a reminder of what they’d lost… Kristoff had assured her that wouldn’t be the case. But… she still had her doubts.
After smiling down at the photo on her phone, she held it up for her boyfriend and sister to view. Elsa gasped and grinned. “Anna! I love it! Please, send that to me. We need it framed.”
Anna snorted at that. “Is… Is it okay if I post it?”
Her companions all looked surprised at the question. Kristoff tilted his head. “You sure?”
“Yeah,” she said with a nod. “I think it’s time to stop hiding from the world.”
Elsa wasn’t one to be super emotional. Not since their parents closed her off from the world and forced her to be cold. But when her eyes became glassy, Anna worried she’d said the wrong thing. Quickly, her sister grabbed her hand. “I think that’s a wonderful idea.”
Smiling, Anna nodded and logged in for the first time in forever. She decided that going through and deleting pictures of her and Hans would be the next thing she did. Like the picture of their proposal… yeah, that’d need to go.
But, that was not the time to think of that. The run would start any moment.
Anna walked with race--with an occasional jog her and there--since her endurance still wasn’t quite built back up. She encouraged Elsa to really go for it (her sister had a bit of competitive spirit), and while the flaxen blonde originally seemed hesitant, eventually she decided to go for it in a full out sprint. Kristoff stayed by Anna’s side, holding her hand through most of it.
Elsa and Gerda were waiting for them at the finish line.
o~o~o~o
Meeting Bulda and Cliff went better than Anna expected. It was like meeting the parents she’d never had. Doting, kind parents that truly cared every bit for their children. Anna couldn’t help but imagine how different her life could’ve been if her parents had been the same. But she knew it’d be wasting time to dwell on such things. Her parents were gone, and she couldn’t change that. Couldn’t change them… or who they were.
“Oh, hun… Kristoff obviously isn’t cooking enough for you. You’re so skinny.”
Kristoff hissed at her. “Ma, she hasn’t even been done with chemo a year yet. Chill out.”
Anna felt an inward of panic at the mention of chemotherapy. Would that be an upsetting topic for them? She didn’t want to remind them of their traumatic experiences. She didn’t know what it was like to lose a child to cancer, but she did know that she’d lost her parents. And how that felt…
But Bulda brushed off Kristoff’s comment. “You better be taking care of her!”
“Mom!”
Giggling behind her hand, she watched the exchange of Kristoff bickering with his mother. At one point, Bulda smacked his hand with a spatula when he commented on the amount of spices she put in the dinner she was making. Anna had never seen her burly boyfriend yelp and cower like that, but it amused her more than she’d let him know.
Apparently, she needed to invest in a spatula.
When they sat at the small table for four, Anna couldn’t help but wonder if the seat she sat in had once been meant for Pepper. Swallowing thickly, she picked at the spaghetti before her. There was a ridiculous amount of food on the plate in front of her. It seemed maybe there was more on her plate than the rest… it seemed Bulda was serious about fattening her up. If this is how Kristoff grew up eating, it’s no wonder he ended up being so thick.
He glanced at her, brows pinching in a silent question. Bulda and Cliff were chatting about their work days, not seeming to notice their son paying them no attention. But Anna just smiled to reassure him and scarfed some noodles into her mouth so as to not worry him further.
Dinner wasn’t awkward by any means. Bulda made conversation rather easily. She asked about her family, mainly Elsa, seeming to evade the topic of her parents. That was probably Kristoff’s doing.
Eventually, Bulda smiled at her. “Anna, would you care to help me with the dishes?”
Blinking, she nodded. “Oh, yes ma’am, of course.”
Kristoff gaped at her. “Mom, she’s a guest she shouldn’t--”
Bulda gave him a look , and the blond’s mouth snapped shut.
Cliff and his son ended up on the back porch, despite how worried Kristoff looked leaving her behind. But Bulda just shooed him, apparently eager to have Anna to herself. As his mother began placing the dishes in one side of the sink, she shook her head with sigh before giving Anna a smile.
“That boy is so protective of you, I swear. You’ll have to tell him you’re a big girl,” she said with a chuckle.
Anna smiled. She wouldn’t admit aloud that she really did enjoy how Kristoff could be overbearing at times. At first, she was a bit weirded out, but as time went on… she realized how much she craved that attention. It was something she hadn’t gotten from her parents, or even Hans for that matter, so a little bit of overprotection wasn’t too bad. Kristoff wasn’t overly possessive or anything, just a healthy enough amount to fret over her.
When Anna didn’t speak, Bulda continued on. “He was the same way with his sister. It’s just instinct for him,” she explained as she ran the water. “Could you dry these for me? If it hurts, just say so.”
Nodding, she agreed. “I can do it.” She was mostly telling the truth. The feeling in her fingers had returned. It was only sometimes when she did really tedious tasks would the painful tingles return to her joints and fingertips.
“I want you to know that you don’t have to be ashamed around us. Or feel like you need to walk on eggshells for us. We lost our daughter, but we can talk about it. It’s alright.”
As Anna dried a dish, she pursed her lips and looked away. “A-Are you sure?”
“Of course, dear. If we don’t talk about her, she’ll fade away. It’s okay to talk about the good and the bad. Acceptance is how you heal. We can’t avoid what happened.”
Chest tight, she nodded. “You’re right. F-From what Kristoff had told me, she was a really sweet girl.”
“Oh, she was a good girl. Could be a little devious sometimes, but it was just cause she wanted his attention. Kristoff was so much older than her, sometimes I worried they wouldn’t be close. They were definitely siblings… picking on each other all the time. But she adored him, and he adored her.”
Anna hummed. “I feel the same about my sister. We didn’t really get to grow up together, but now that we’ve become close, it’s a bond I wish I’d gotten to experience sooner.”
Bulda handed her another dish. “Kristoff told me a little about your family. Not much, though. But I won’t pry. I’m sorry to hear that you and your sister have gone through a lot.”
“Thank you.”
“Let me be honest with you, dear… Never feel guilty for surviving. Just because others didn’t, doesn’t mean you should be ashamed that you did. Always remember that. You deserve to love and live life. Kristoff has never looked at anyone the way he looks at you.”
Anna took those words to heart, filing them away to hold onto forever. Bulda was right…
It was okay to live.
o~o~o~o
Anna sat in his lap, her lips on his as they pressed their bare chests together. Kristoff’s fingers twined into her auburn locks with a gentle tug. She had no idea that hair pulling was a thing she liked, but since her hair had grown out they both discovered something new about her. Kristoff seemed to enjoy it… he’d give her hair a small yank at random times just to fluster her, and it often worked.
But she stopped him, pulling her mouth away from his. Anna glanced down between them, gazing over her body. The marks and scars, the many freckles and bumps…
“Anna?”
Her eyes met his. “There’s something we need to talk about.”
Blinking, his brows furrowed. “Okay…?”
She didn’t want to worry him. Not really. But this was something she’d been avoiding since they’d started dating. And, especially now that they were intimate, it needed to be discussed.
“I-I don’t know if we need condoms or not.”
“...Huh?”
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Anna wanted to smack herself. What a stupid thing to say. A horrible way to go about this. Damn, she was an idiot.
“I mean… I don’t know if I can have kids.”
“Oh.”
Fidgeting with her thumbs, she vaguely realized that this was a really uncomfortable position to be in while bringing this up. They were both topless, his cheeks were flushed with kiss swollen lips, there was a very clear bulge pressing against her through his jeans. But she couldn’t let this go on. Not without telling him.
“Dr. Mattias said there was a chance that the chemo could make me infertile. I-I haven’t exactly asked him about checking up with that. So, I don’t know if I can even get pregnant naturally.”
Kristoff nodded. “Anna… I want a family someday,” her heart dropped, “but only if it’s with you.”
Jaw dropping, she couldn’t help but feel stunned at his admission. “W-Wait, really?”
“I love you. There’s no one else I’d rather have a family with. Look, I was adopted, so I don’t have any qualms with doing the same.”
“I-I mean, we may not have to. But I’m glad you’re open to the idea. A-After Dr. Mattias told me about the risks, I did have some of my eggs frozen. B-But there’s no guarantee that it could work, a-and I don’t have boobs and that might cause problems, so I didn’t want to get your hopes up or anything or--”
Kristoff pressed his lips to hers, effectively shutting up her. “I want you , Anna Anderson. No matter what that entails. Whether we have children of our own or not someday, I don’t care. As long as you’re the one with me.”
A girlish giggle bubbled past her lips.
“But uh--” he cleared his throat, “I wouldn’t mind finding out if condoms are a necessity or not because, ya know, I wouldn’t mind… going without?”
Smirking, she simply pushed him down on the mattress.
When Anna woke, bare aside from the sheets covering her skin, she was alone. Kristoff had to be at the jobsite at 6:00AM where he’d work a few hours before heading to the coffee shop. It was nice that both bosses were accommodating him as he adjusted. It was strange thinking about the fact that Kristoff would no longer be the first face she saw when she entered Arendelle Roasts. Oaken was kind enough to allow Kristoff to make his own schedule for his last two weeks. Ama was proud that he would be turning to construction full time after working so hard to learn the ropes.
It did suck to know he would rarely be beside her in the mornings, but when she started her classes at AU then maybe they could share a breakfast since she had to be up anyway.
Rolling over to check the time, Anna laughed at the sight of a chocolate chip muffin sitting on the nightstand waiting for her.
o~o~o~o
The bell chimed as someone entered the door. Anna glanced up from her spot behind the counter, smiling when she saw Kristoff walking towards her.
“Well, if it isn’t my favorite customer,” she cooed.
The blond snorted at her. “Pretty sure you stole my line.”
Anna hummed, a mused tone in her voice. “Nope. Can’t be your line if I’m the one working here now.”
“Because you stole my job.”
Scoffing, she rolled her eyes. “I was hired here, thank you. Now, do you want a Maple Harvest or not?”
Beaming, he leaned on the counter. She was thankful it was closing time and there were only two other customers finishing up their cups, so Kristoff heckling her at the counter wouldn’t get her in very much trouble. “Already got my coffee memorized?” he teased.
“Don’t act like you didn’t memorize Elsa’s drink.”
“That’s because you always ordered it as an excuse to talk to me.”
“Lies,” she snapped while biting back a smile. Yeah, he was right. But oh, she would never give him the satisfaction.
Anna went to the machine to begin his order. Ryder peaked around and smirked at her. “You know, I thought you two would get tired of flirting eventually.”
Laughing, she shook her head. “You should know both of us better by now.”
“Touche.”
When Anna returned to the counter, Kristoff was ready with money in hand. She looked between him and the cash before tilting her head with a knowing smile. “It’s on the house.”
“Anna…”
“It’s on the house,” she repeated as she wrote on the cup.
After she handed it over, Kristoff gave her a flat look when he saw that she’d written “Christopher” on his drink. “Why do you torture me?” he grumbled.
“Because I love you.”
She really did.

Do you have any good papyrus or mettaton fics? I literally cannot find good papyrus fics that doesn't have his bro in it and like, both siblings dating reader. I just want robot and tall man plz. Ty for reading this ^_^
I stared at this message for a good five minutes wondering if this was a joke, honestly, because pal, if it’s not, you must not have been following me for very long! I almost NEVER shut up about my Papyton fics lmao.
But I really know what you mean. I traverse the Mettaton/Papyrus tag on ao3 every once in a while and it’s always swamped with Sans/Reader. I really only know of and follow fics written by me and my friends.
So here’s what I’ll do. I will fill this post with fic recs for you, starting with my own since I know them best and moving on to my friends’ and any others I’ve had recced to me lately.
Papyton:
- The Walls Around Our Hearts, by me. Yes, I’m starting with this bad boy. Walls is my precious baby, the first Papyton fic I ever started writing and also the longest-going fic I’ve ever written, having first been published in 2017. For me, it’s pretty much everything I’d ever want in a romance fic: slow burn, mutual pining, friends to lovers, those good tropes. Now, I never recommend Walls to anyone without also mentioning the trigger warnings. Because there’s a lot of them. Walls is not only about a romance, but also involves Papyrus and Mettaton going on separate, yet intertwined, personal journeys. On these journeys, they deal with inner and outer demons: secret dark pasts, ableism, transphobia, abuse, mental illness, and more. I’ve tagged the fic with everything necessary, and I never turn away anyone who wants to know more about what I’m planning, because I don’t want anyone to be caught off guard. But yeah. I’ve been told Walls is a great read, so you might still enjoy the ride.
- What Heights of Love, by me. I haven’t gotten very far into it yet because everything gets the backburner compared to Walls. But it’s my fic based on the King Mettaton ending that focuses mainly on Papyton, along with the human back on the surface. However, it is a tragedy fic with a doomed relationship, so it’s not a very happy story. Also, there will be smut later, so it’s not for minors.
- A Heart of Glass, by me. Again, I haven’t gotten very far into the story. It’s generally lighter-toned than the other two stories, though. It’s my Human Fairy Tale AU, based mainly on the tale of Cinderella told by Disney. Papyrus takes the role of Cinderella and Mettaton the Prince. The story focuses on both characters and involves some twists on the original tale.
- My one-shots. I have 23 fluffy, purely Papyton one-shots on my ao3 account, among other things. I also have 3 smut fics, but those are only visible if you are a registered user with ao3.
- The Most Glamorous Puzzle of All, by NoSleepUntilVacation. A collection of 100 fluffy Papyton one-shots, almost finished. All around very cute and by a good friend of mine.
- We’re Allowed to Be Loud and Proud, by NoSleepUntilVacation. Another collection of Papyton one-shots, this time a mix of fluff, smut, and AUs (smut is marked so you can skip it if you want).
- NoSleepUntilVacation’s one-shots. She has 12 purely Papyton short stories on her ao3 account, most if not all of which involve tooth-rotting fluff.
- Diaries of a Killer Robot, by TheUndertaleLesbian. Largely from Mettaton’s POV (at least so far), but Papyton-focused. Mettaton’s dealing with a sore past and a bit of a tough present life, so he’s writing in diaries again to cope.
- TheUndertaleLesbian’s one-shots. She currently has 4 Papyton short stories on her ao3.
- Seasons Change, by rouxlsreversed. A short but sweet (and finished!) multichapter fic about Papyrus and Mettaton’s love throughout the seasons.
- Pillow Talk, by rouxlsreversed. A cute, fluffy one-shot.
Mettaton:
- Birthday Bonding, by me. This is actually focused on Mettaton AND Undyne, and features Papyrus, but I thought you might enjoy it. This fic follows my headcanon that Mettaton, as well as Undyne, sees Asgore as a father figure, and he and Undyne both want to give him the best birthday party... except their ideas are seemingly too conflicting to work.
- As Different as a Moonbeam from Lightning, by me. Again, actually focused on Mettaton and Undyne’s relationship, but mostly from Mettaton’s POV. Mettaton and Undyne make a deal, but Mettaton may have gotten himself in too deep this time.
- Phone Conversations with a Killer Robot, by NoSleepUntilVacation. Basically a fic about what might happen if you could call Mettaton throughout your Underground journey like you can call Papyrus and Undyne.
- Three Little Glambots, by NoSleepUntilVacation. Cute fic about the reader adopting three Mettaton bitties, who look like each of his robot forms.
- where the machines (and our hearts) run in double time, by NoSleepUntilVacation. Another what-if fic about Mettaton accompanying Frisk through the True Lab.
- NoSleepUntilVacation’s Mettaton/Reader fics. I don’t know if you’re looking for anything like that, but I thought I’d mention them in case you’re interested. There’s 12 of them and they’re all pretty sweet.
- Hail to the King, Baby, by Predaking. Another King Mettaton fic, this time focused on Mettaton instead of Papyton. This fic involves undiagnosed mental illness and alcoholism, so keep that in mind before reading.
Papyrus:
- Papyrus vs the Forces of LOVE, by me. My version of Underfell, focusing mostly on Papyrus and the human and a bit of Sans.
- Glasses, by ALittleBirdieToldMeASecret. Papyrus gets a pair of glasses, but they bother Sans for some reason, and the others feel put off as well. Papyrus-focused of course, but Sans plays a big part as well. This one was recced to me by a friend, and I haven’t finished what’s been written so far, but I like it!
- My Big Fat Fish Holiday Party, by 264feet. This one’s focused on Papyrus and Undyne. It’s one of the funniest fucking things I’ve ever read. I’m not even going to put a description of it, except to say that Bill Clinton is involved. Just go read it.
I think that’s about all I’ve got. Followers, if you have any Papyrus, Mettaton, or Papyton recs, feel free to reblog with them!

DC CW Shows
I finally caught up on all the DC Universe shows. Quite an accomplishment for me considering I was 2 seasons behind. It feels good to finally get caught up to speed, but some of them are starting to feel like chores getting through them, rather than fun entertainment. A concern that gets amplified by the fact that the producers want to add on 2 more shows to the line up. So I felt like it was a good idea to breakdown my thoughts on each of the shows and what I liked/didn’t like. Plus then I will break down my thoughts on Crisis, because I have a lot of them. I’ll also rank these as I go as far as which ones I liked best, beginning with least to best. So let’s begin:
#7 - The Flash
I used to love this show so much. The first two seasons were a lot of fun and I loved all the characters so much. Thanks to the writing though, I can’t honestly say I don’t like this show much at all anymore and that’s kinda sad. Part of the reason is it became soooo angsty. Like the reason The Flash was great, was it was the antithesis to the angst on Arrow which made it so refreshing to watch. Now it’s like everyone must suffer some sort of pain over the tiniest things or worse, they become entrapped in characters and situations like its been haunting them for years when it only got introduced a couple episodes ago. At this point the only characters I care about are Caitlyn/Frost, Joe and Cecile West, Wally (when he’s on, which is like never), and Ralph. And that’s painful that Hartley won’t be returning to fill that role anymore because he was the only one who still could joke and laugh around like old Team Flash.
Season 5: Overall season 5 had a pretty solid storyline despite some of the angsty writing. After a while though I got pretty sick of fighting Chicada over and over again, especially Grace’s version. My one big pet peeve with it though was the relationship of Nora to Barry and Iris. I’m sorry. I can’t honestly picture any 20-30 something meeting their adult daughter and automatically assuming the role of an actual parent and treating her like a preteen. That always felt super weird and uncomfortable. Not to mention it happened almost automatically with little to no hang ups on ‘is this really our kid? Should we trust her?’ Plus then it created angst between Barry and Iris which I’m really over at this point in the series because their relationship was never my favorite to begin with.
Season 6: A hot mess. Granted, because of Crisis and Covid-19, the season probably didn’t get a fair chance to play out to it’s full potential. But cutting the season into two arcs didn’t do it any justice. Especially because instead of having character growth, I felt like a lot of the characters regressed. Take Barry for instance. The whole first part of the season is him prepping/training the team to take over for him after Crisis since he believes he is going to die. Only when he doesn’t, he assumes the role of leader still without actually leading. He stops telling his team members key details and putting aside the fact he killed the speed force, he stopped being a hero. The whole fight scene with Mirror-Iris, was so bizarre to watch. Yes, Barry would never hurt the real Iris, but she’s not and instead he just stands there and gets stabbed over and over, crying at the end that she’s not there. It’s really hard to watch.
#6 - Arrow
Arrow used to be in my top 3 slots as last I left it. The storylines were still on point. But leading up to Crisis and the show ending, there were some things that worked for me and some that didn’t. Still, kudos to the team for standing their ground and saying that we’ve told all we can tell, let’s put this show to bed and give it a close it deserves. It made the ending super emotional, but at the same time satisfying despite, Oliver’s death in the universe. My only complaint is the fact that the producers can’t put it fully to bed and now want to reboot Arrow all over again with Mia and the canaries. Don’t get me wrong watching strong women take more of the leading roles is awesome, but not to tell and retell the same storylines.
Season 7: The first half of the season when Oliver was in Iron Heights was not my favorite. Mainly because as it continues to develop it was like all the reasons he got put in Iron Heights to begin with no longer mattered. Diaz is still on the lose, he’s still playing his games in prison, and really what was the point? Now the second half of the season where we focus on his rehabilitation into society and working with the SCPD to track and take down his sister Emiko, was actually good. Too bad it got horribly overshadowed by a time travel flash-forward storyline to introduce and make us care about Mia.
Season 8: Obviously this season was the closeout season and the season leading up to Crisis. But I liked the way they treated it. They gave cameo spots and guest starring spots to former faces like Thea (she’s still freaking awesome), Tommy, Moira, and even Merlyn came back. My only complaint was that all of sudden we did have another time travel situation on our hands to meet our future kids. Thankfully I felt Arrow overall took that development better than the Flash, which since that was only a couple episodes and not a season, says something about the writing. Plus the post-Crisis pilot for the Green Arrow and Canaries felt a little out of place given everything that happened and a little insulting.
#5 - Supergirl
There’s parts of Supergirl I still absolutely love to pieces and the writing that are still doing it the justice that started the show by telling storylines of not only heroism, but commentary on today’s events to help push for progress. I love the whole cast of characters and think the acting has been great. My only complaint is with Season 5 and the fact that the show is beginning to find its tipping point of being less than stellar. I mean, I still enjoy it, but it’s beginning to show its where and tear so I’m worried what’s going to happen as it continues forward. Especially as it gets hyperfixated on Lex Luthor, who don’t get me wrong is a fabulous villain, but isn’t that Superman’s arch nemesis, not Supergirl’s?
Season 4: What a great commentary to tell throughout the season that parallels the feelings and conversations being had about immigration in our own world. I thought the idea of the Alien Amnesty Act squaring off against Ben Lockwood and his Agents of Liberty was not only great commentary but great story telling. I also loved that we got to introduce Nia Nall into the series because she’s fantastic and has become one of my favorite characters. I even love the twist reveal of how Ben Lockwood isn’t the enemy, it’s really Lex Luthor and his communist Supergirl clone. Plus Jon Crier plays an amazing Lex Luthor.
Season 5: Don’t get me wrong, the stakes and the storylines with Leviathan and Obsidian North, I do think are important and worth telling, but they detracted from the main storyline that developed at the end of last season which was Lena and Kara’s new relationship. Yes, it was still hit on and explored, but by far that was the storyline I was interested in seeing the most, not Ramah Khan or Virtual Reality horror stories. Also, while I like Lex, thanks to his antics during Crisis, the second half of the season felt hijacked and became this witch hunt. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to see what he and Lillian are doing, but I wish it played out more in the shadows and less of the actual screen time. I’m also glad Lena is back on Kara’s side again. But Brainy better not be dead! He’s one of my favorites even if his motives during this season were hard to watch.
#4 - Batwoman
I actually really, really, really liked Batwoman’s first season. Getting to know the badass that is Kate Kane and watch the horror’s of Gotham play out week to week was such a refreshing change of pace. After all, The Flash and Supergirl are undeniably heroes and must carry those burdens(?) as they fight for truth and justice. And Oliver was a vigilante, but while he took down drug lords, weapons dealers, etc. the stakes of being a vigilante in Star City is nothing compared to wearing the cape in Gotham. I loved the cast and seeing the stories play out of their past and how they connect to each other and also how some of them discover who Batwoman is, was fantastic. Even as creepy as Alice is, I enjoyed seeing the performance of the completely unhinged and psychotic villain take the stage to play out her twisted fantasies. I also appreciate the openness that Kate brought to being an out and proud lesbian, even revealing her super identity to a teenager to prove that it does get better and lesbians can be awesome is super freaking powerful. I even like that with the shortened season, it didn’t feel like we got robbed of an awesome storyline, but now we get to why this ranks fourth on my list instead of higher: Ruby Rose left the show and we get a whole new Batwoman. I get that this is out of the hands of the producers and the writers and I am super sad to see her go. But its hard not to feel like we lost a whole season of introduction and development to just reset and begin again. I’m not sure how they will handle it, but I do hope that a lot of the cast stays and stays in their roles. Especially Luke and Mary who are a great team. Mary is also like my all time, instant-favorite character because not only is she super wicked smart, but she has so much humanity in her so I hope she still continues on the show.
#3 - Stargirl
Yes, yes, this show is still airing which is why I can’t speak to the overall season arc in finality yet, but I absolutely have been loving this first season. Again, what a refreshing new reality to step into and what a great new storyline to pursue. This rag-tag group of teenagers becoming the new Justice Society of America is a fun telling and already, the stakes of the Injustice Society are so high! Like I was expecting that it was going to be like the other shows where slowly by slowly we meet all the bad guys in different seasons, but instead it feels a little flipped since we don’t have all our new heroes on the stage yet. Still I love Courtney and her relationship with Pat as she discovers these secrets of his past and their new home of Blue Valley. I love her recruiting reasoning to bring Yolanda and Rick into this crazy plan and even her acceptance of Beth becoming the new Doctor Midnight. Plus, the show keeps surprising me because on one hand, giving these teenagers these powers to help them redeem their self esteem is a great storyline, which is why I was expecting them to force us to like Cindy since the beginning of that episode was leading up to maybe becoming friends with her, but no. Turns out she is the super bitch and super villain of the show and that’s kinda awesome. Also I like how because their teenagers, their secret identities aren’t really that secret, which makes it’s kinda fun, but also dangerous. We’ll see how the last 3 episodes play out, but I can’t wait.
#2 - Black Lightening
Talk about real gritty, dark, and powerful storytelling. I enjoyed the first season, but these last two have been a real punch in the gut in good ways and the writers have been outdoing themselves to provide heartfelt, real, honest emotions and discussions to the world of superheroes, compared to the other shows. And it’s hard, but the gruesome nature of the show also highlights some of the real struggles going on in the Freeland Community which of course highlights the issues in our own world around the Black Community. The whole spinal chord ripping scene will haunt me forever and not only because they keep replaying it, but because of how insane that was. The cast is also great and I love that at the end of Season 3, it’s not just a family of super heroes, but a group of powerful metas squaring off against the government and the most dangerous threat of all so far: Gravedigger. Gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.
Season 2: Now that the whole family knows the stakes of what they have gotten themselves into with Tobias and revealing the girls have power, I love the way we got introduced to the ASA and the pod kids as a menial threat while still struggling to take down the perceived ‘bigger threat’ that is Tobias. Jennifer also having trouble coming to terms with her powers and how to use them I think was a great way to explore that not everyone wants to be a superhero, especially in antithesis to Nyssa who is a full on badass as Thunder and Blackbird. Watching Khalil’s story in this go from obedient lap dog to a runaway and finally a victim of Tobias’ violence was hard, but I felt was justified throughout and made him that character you want to root for, even when not everything he’s done has been great.
Season 3: What a harsh turn of direction. A full on occupation of Freeland, house arrest, killings on the street, and an underground railroad of metas or suspected metas completely changed the tune of this show. Watching each of the Peirces struggle to find out who the ASA is, what their doing, if their actions are justified and if the Marcovian threat was real was really fascinating to watch. The showdown with the Marcovians too with a whole team behind them was also a nice change of pace, even if their mission didn’t end the way they expected. I think the amplified stakes though of what happened and what’s to come will continue to develop into an incredible show, minus one now big problem I have, but I will detail that out below when we talk about Crisis.
#1 - Legends of Tomorrow
You can fight me, but Legends of Tomorrow is the best goddamn shown on this network for one simple fact: They don’t take themselves seriously. There is no real angst and because of that it makes the adventures so fun and so hilarious that its such a great break from all of the other shows. Plus, because they keep swapping new and old cast members into the show, it always feels new. Kinda that Doctor Who spirit, which I love. That and because there are hardly any rules to a time travelling group of heroes who don’t really want to be heroes, you get ridiculously themed episodes like Bollywood Musical or TV Crossovers. It is what makes the show a total blast.
Season 4: As the team gears up to track down magical creatures throughout history, you get the introduction of permanent team member, John Constantine who I freaking love for his cool, aloof character and yet sarcastic and sassy contrast to the sunshine and bro-squad that is Ray and Nate. I also love that the season not only was about capturing these magical creatures, but fully rehabilitating Norah Dhark into a good guy now accidentally turned fairy godmother. To be honest, I definitely did not see that one coming. I like that fighting the demon lord also helped transition the show from Season 4 to 5 to fight hell spawn creatures. Quite a leap from the original Legends concept, but again that’s what makes this show so fresh.
Season 5: Part of the other fun of Legends is getting to see old characters get reinvented. I loved the storyline with Charlie and her reveal to be Clothos, one of the 3 fate sisters and the reason the ancient loom got destroyed. I also loved Tala Ashe’s portrayal of Zari in a different timeline because the difference between tech-geek, super smart Zari and social influencer extraordinaire Zari were well done. Plus we got another awesome bro-squad member in Behrad who I hope sticks around for a while. The only bummer was saying goodbye to Ray Palmer. Ray has been one of my favorite characters in the Arrow-verse and seeing his exit was sad and partly because I think it could have been handled better. Like don’t get me wrong, seeing him have to get approval from Damian Dhark to marry Nora was entertaining and I’m glad he isn’t dead like Dr. Stein or Leonard Snart, but I just feel like the exit was a bit rushed. The good news is, it opens the door for Ray to return and I hope we get to seem in the future.
Alright...... To end this long spiel, let’s talk about Crisis on Infinite Earths and what that now means for all these shows. Because unfortunately.... it can’t be ignored. And I’m sorry to sound pessimistic, but to be honest, Crisis wasn’t my favorite story and was too hyped for the end result.
The only show who came out better for Crisis, in my opinion, was Arrow. Mainly because the story of Oliver’s last sacrifice to reboot the universe was the only one that made complete sense and doesn’t complicate the show after it happens. Granted it could be because it was used as the show’s exit, but still. I used to love crossover episodes and getting the whole team together, but now because there is soooo much going on in each show and such a large cast, these big multi-night and multi-universe shows just feel scattered because you are constantly hopping around and between each of the characters and all the individual storylines don’t matter. Like remember when Barry and Oliver would actually talk about what they were up against? Miss that. That and Oliver, Barry, and Kara stole the show even when it was other shows turn to shine. Like Kate was hardly in it, even in her own episode and the Legends weren’t in it at all. It was just Sara and Ray which was disappointing because as Crisis was their season opener, you missed a real chance to have the Legends save the day. Don’t get my wrong, there were some great moments during crisis and I liked the nod to past versions of the DC characters, including Brandon Routh getting to play Superman again, but overall it just made chaos for things that don’t make sense post-crisis.
Like yay, all our favorite heroes are in one place and created the justice league to help each other, but once Crisis is over, nope sorry, no one can be bothered to borrow a hero friend. Like that makes sense for some shows, Batwoman for instance isn’t that close to everyone and her storyline is so rooted in her own family drama, that ignoring the other supers made sense. The Flash’s stakes weren’t high enough to involve anyone else, so fine. And Legends of course travel through time and so aren’t around, fine. But Supergirl’s takedown of a longstanding secret group of people capable of bending Earth’s elements to create catastrophic events, isn’t enough to at least reach out to Cisco or Luke for help tracking them? That seems underwhelming. Plus where are the aliens in all the other cities now? Or the metas in National City? That’s a pet peeve, but more so because of the biggest twist in Crisis:
Pulling Black Lightening into the Arrowverse. Like the shows writers and producers, I think Black Lightening works better outside the Arrowverse which was the intent and goal from the get go. Pulling Jefferson Pierce’s family and world into the same Earth as all the other shows, no longer makes the shows storytelling as strong and maybe it was because this was a last minute decision, but there is just no justification post Crisis as to why they had to come in. I mean, The Flash and Black Lightening have metas related issues, you would think that alone would be a prime source of teaming up. Especially when Cisco goes out on a worldwide quest to document metas, you’re telling me skipped over Freeland? And where’s our favorite Kyrptonian to fight for truth, justice, and the American way as Freeland is being occupied by the ASA? Oh, what too busy going after Lex Luthor? Sorry, I’m not buying that Kara Danvers ignores racial injustice. Like I get that maybe it was a way to be able to use Black Lightening later in cross-over events, but the fallout from bringing them in this season with everything going on is a huge mistake in my opinion. And heck, having shows exist outside each other is probably a good thing. Too many and these crossover events don’t feel fun anymore, they just feel chaotic. I think I’m with the Legends on this one: the crossovers aren’t worth it anymore.

Hoodies
Paring: Tamaki x female reader.
Word count: 1.2k
Warnings: Just fluff and SFW
Time taken: 3 hours.
Tag list @tryna-imagine @tooloudarts @zyrielwolf @queensynderella @secondhand-trash (please tell me how my writing is, I want some feedback. Also I love all the support, and unfortunately my work isn’t being put out there. I have been shadow banned, but it won’t stop my from posting!)
“Hey Siri play love songs!”
“Now playing Perfect by Ed Sheeran.”
You and him had been dating since your third year in high school at UA. You’d had been a support course student, your main job was fixing and development of new support items. You knew about his work study with Fat Gum so you asked Miro to pass a message to him. You knew he was shy and didn’t like talking to new people.
That however, was almost five years ago. These days, he was still a bit shy around new people but he knew that all he had to do was pretend they were puppies or something cute.
It was a cool day in autumn, your favorite season of the year. You liked watching the trees change and it was a good excuse to steal Tamaki’s hoodies more often. Every time he saw you in one of his hoodies, he would blush and smile at you. You decided to wear one of his hoodies, a purple and white on with a small butterfly on it. Along with some jeans and some heeled boots. The boots made a tad taller than him but hey, you looked cute. Taking out your phone you posed in front of your mirror. *Click* And sent to Tamaki. In your phone his contact name was 🦋Butterfly babe🥰
🦋Butterfly babe🥰 has sent a message.
You look really cute today.
04:30 pm
I mean your always cute but you look
extra cute wearing my hoodie.
04:32pm
You could see the flustered expression that was on his face. You knew that when he tried to flirt through texting, his face would go all red and cute. But you decided not to tease him about it, he would still be at work for another few hours.
Thank you honey, I really love wearing this one. It’s like you're right next to me and we are cuddling. Are we still going on our walk in the park tonight?
04:40pm
*New message*
Yes we are still on for our weekly walk in the park. I have to get back to work now. I love you bunny.
04:43pm
I love you too my butterfly ❤️
04:45pm
You had about four hours to kill so you grab your purse and run some errands. You had a lot to do, food shopping, picking up clothes from the dry cleaning and trying to find a certain part you wanted for a new support item for the flame hero.
The time was finally eight o’clock, just in time because you were heading to the park and you and your boyfriend would take a walk in once a week at least. He knew you liked looking at the stars and there was almost no one else to ease drop. This is the park you had your first date at, first kiss. A lot of good memories, a few bad ones too. You remembered the one day a fan tried to ease dropping on your conversation, that ended up with you getting pissed off and almost punching them. You had a temper when it came to things like that, good thing your boyfriend calmed you down and all of you settled the matter. Good thing this didn’t get out to the media, Tamaki hated dealing with the media, they would take someone’s words and twist them making it their own.
You chucked at the thought of when the media picked up that Suneater had a girlfriend. They were shocked and some didn’t believe it until he said it himself on live tv. But he refused to give out your name or anything about you. This man didn’t want the villains knowing who you were so he just said when he was asked about it, “I’m happy with my current relationship, that is all the details I will be giving.”
You looked up and your eyes met with his. Intertwining your hands together as the two of you smiled.
“How was work?” You kissed his cheek, this made him blush. He wouldn’t give much PDA but at home he was a cuddle bug.
“Long but it was mainly just paperwork today.”
You nodded and you both walked in silence. You would occasionally point out constellations to tamaki and tell him everything you knew about them. All he could do is stare into your beautiful eyes in aw. He loved you and he was about to do something that would change everything.
He stopped walking.
“Y/n?” You almost did not hear him.
“Yes Tama?” You gave him a loving hand squeeze to assure him.
“Will you close your eyes?” You nodded and closed your eyes.
“Don’t open them until I say you can.” He whispered in your ear.
You smiled and nodded. Little did you know that there was someone hiding behind a tree with a camera. He let you to under a tree, you could hear the leaves under your feet. You couldn’t see but all you knew was that there was light coming from somewheres.
Tamaki got down on one knee after he fixed one of the fairy lights in the tree. He pulled out a small blue box.
“You can open your eyes, bunny.” You slowly opened your eyes and gasped, putting your hand over your mouth.
“Tamaki.”
“Y/n l/n we have been together since high school and I really want you to be in my life forever. It has taken me over a year to gain the courage to ask you this question, will you do me that honor of becoming my wife by marrying me and maybe someday having a family with me?” He opened the box revealing a diamond ring with a small butterfly engraved on it. You could tell he was nervous, you eyes filled up with tears. You heard a sound but decided to ignore it.
“Yes! Yes I will!” You hugged him tightly, a little bit too tight. You then heard it again. It was a camera clicking. He must’ve hired a photographer for this moment. He put the ring on your left ring finger and you two kissed.
“I was so scared you were going to say no.”
“I would never say no to you, you are my butterfly and I love you.”
The photographer came out from the tree and showed you both the pictures he took. He said that he would mail them to you once he edited them which would take a few weeks.
On the way home you remembered something. He said it took him over a year to ask you. I guess he did put a lot of thought into it. At least you two can have fun planning a wedding in the future. But for now, just live in this moment.
The rest of the night you spend cuddling and exchanging kisses.
Nothing else could be perfect, I mean he’s wearing one of your hoodies and you're wearing his to sleep. It was common for you both to sleep in each other’s clothes but now came the topic of children.
“Instead of having our own child, why don’t we consider adopting? There’s so many kids out there that don’t have a family.” You yawned and looked at the clock. It was almost one am.
“Maybe bunny, but for now let’s get some sleep.” He kissed your cheek and held you to his chest.
“Okay, I love you.” You said drifting off to sleep.
Hey everyone, it’s me, I hope this finds you well. I just wanna tell you that I’m hoping to write a shinso and Kirishima fic in the next few weeks. Then I may write a Hawks, he seems to be more popular when I write for him. My ask box is always open, I need ideas for writing. Plus I have lots of snacks to eat while I’m writing and cute animals to pet. I have two cats and a dog that keep me company when I write.
