2024.02.16-17 sukekiyo at Kyoto Gekijo
Tumblr media
I really wanted to write about each show separately but then the 17th was filled with too many exciting things and there was no time. So I'll try about them together. And because of the setlists it also feels like they both belong together anyway.
2.16 The first day flow felt like the young idol started bright and excited, innocent, but then fell, experiencing the dirty side of love and people, but wanted to find love somehow anyway. And it finished with 呼吸・kokyuu...
As the BGM they are playing another movie (sound only).
5 minutes to and then at 6:30 the theatre buzzer sounded to signal the start of the show.
They had the usual see through screen in front of the stage (always done for the seated shows). sukekiyo and the tour name appeared as the snow was softly falling in the dark. At the same time band members walked on the stage, Takumi first, followed by Yuchi and Mika, then utA and Kyo last.
And Takumi started the piano melody of Margaret. It's so nice that they again chose to start with the last song from the previous tour, like they're creating a connection between then and now.
The stage was mostly their normal setting, but Kyo's stand had a dark bouquet laying in the middle of the table, I'm pretty sure it was the one with the doll in it that he shared in his Instagram story. There was also a high chair on the right side of his stand, right next to it.
And a new addition were big light bulbs hanging on wires over the stage, one over each band member hanging lower and four more a bit higher, nine in total. When グロス・Gloss started they lit up but dimmed when song got quieter.
During 愛した心臓・Aishita shinzo Kyo was dancing, he also came close the screen stretching his arm towards audience. (but I'm always unsure how much they can see from the other side because of how the light works on the screen), he crouched when dancing. Kyo was very dancey, utA as well (I was sitting on utA's side that night, aisle seat though).
They all wore outfits from their last artist photos. utA's hair was more standing, full 90s visual kei style. Kyo changed his look having a very different hairstyle. Because he shaved his head to get a new tattoo in January his hair is still very short, like in Citta he glued things on though, for sukekiyo he had two thin pink braids, one on each side, styled in a way they created two rings. And he had the porcelain doll effect make up, shiny face with drawn eyebrows, dark eye make up and full lips. The back of his dress is quite open so we could see his tattooed back. And he wore pink tabi boots to complete the look. (you can check those tweets 1️⃣ 2️⃣ to see fans drawings of him, just pls don't repost)
Both Candis and Valentina were quite fun with the pen lights. And this part had a lot of dancey songs that even come with set dance moves... But since it was a seated show it was only Kyo dancing, with other band members rocking and jumping as well, fans had to endure and stay in their seats😂
With 口に林檎・kuchi ni ringo the stage went darker and Kyo was lit up by his mic stand's pink light. aftermath followed with the soft dark mood in the venue and the video on the screen. Some of the autumn temple has been edited and changed to pink cherry blossoms with petals scattering. Kyo sang standing by his mic stand, illuminated in pink.
And after the song ended Takumi played the piano melody that starts the session. Kyo softly walked towards the chair and sat with one leg over the other, very dignified, like a film noir singer or a diva. A black clothed staff member walked on the stage from the left side holding a make up case and started to 'do' Kyo's make up. He patted Kyo's face with a towel, he then used a sponge and a brush, then 'did' Kyo's lips. I don't think he actually changed anything but it was a part of the performance. Kyo stayed seated almost motionless through the whole process.
Then Kyo softly got up and walked to his mic stand, the session continued as Kyo joined singing. The cheerful idol from the start of the concert was gone by now, the innocence lost. The want, the hurt, the darker feelings took place to create someone new.
訪問者X・HomonshaX had Kyo dancing like a bug, very different from the way he danced as a cute idol.
It felt to me that the lights towards the end of the performance were changing between red - fiery, angry and strong - and blue - calmer and sadder, to me it felt like there was a battle of various emotions inside of our heroine. I aways have a ton of respect for Mika who is creating the visualisations for the shows. Like during 変わってくれませんでしょうか・kawattekuremasendeshouka? when the front screen is very simple and the sides are dark with water falling over Kyo in the middle as the rain is supposed to wash everything away.
During 夢見ドロ・Yumemidoro Kyo was dancing more seductively, even wrapped his leg around the mic stand, baring it to the people. During Scarlet Kyo was pointing his lips with his index finger, 'I want you to kiss me'. Even broken things want to find love.
And at the end the acceptance came and resignation. Ending with 呼吸・kokyu had many people crying, if they were not crying by then anyway.
At the end Kyo slowly turned and left the stage. The end credits started on the screen, the audience was clapping as the rest of the band members slowly left as well. But many people kept crying even then (yours truly included).
But we did get the Gion Matsuri tour announced! 4 days at Kyoto MUSE! I wonder how many people will manage to hit all tickets on one account... I'll try😂
2.17
One more thing that was different was Kyo's stand, on the second day there were no flowers there. So I guess it was a present for his birthday?
The setlist flow was was different on this day. They started with 訪問者X・homonshaX and Kyo's bug dance. He was also pointing at the audience as he sang.
During グロス・Gloss the light bulbs lit up again. There was one moment when Kyo made a movement raising his arms like he wanted to catch his light bulp between his hands.
The video for The Hole had a mix of colours and Kyo was dancing. He definitely had more of a seductress in his movements on the second night. He stretched one arm and moved the other with the music and switched them. The idol songs following felt quite different because of the way they started the set and the mood.
After aftermath the staff came again to 'do' Kyo's make up and it was followed up with a session. At the end the stage was quite dark with a simple spotlight on Kyo.
With 論外な生き物として・rongaina ikimono toshite I love how the song switches from soft to heavy, from Kyo carresing the mic stand softly to him headbanging.
And the hair set he had made it kinda interesting for headbanging 😆 he had thin pink braids glued to his hair again, this time the loops were shorter so the end of the brace was behind the loops. So they bounced when Kyo moved. He wore a cropped black top with puffy sleeves and strands of pearls over it. Flowy pleated black skirt and again pink tabi boots. Make up was very similar to the first night. (fan's drawing)
The rest of the band members had different outfits too. utA again had a very classic v-kei outfit, this time his hair was styled to the right side. Takumi had a long white collar outfit. Mika I couldn't see, from my seat Mika was obstructed by Kyo's iPad stand 😅 Yuchi had a sleeveless Nike top with long gloves, he changed his hair style too to add more braids.
I can't play any instruments and I don't have especially trained ears, but I'm always impressed with the sound quality at sukekiyo shows as well. I can cearly hear all instruments and they create this amazing harmony together. And I also enjoy the fact that band members use different instruments for some songs (like aftermath). I could hear the wonderful bass promised by Yuchi, Mika's powerful drums, utA's guitar, especially during solos, Takumi's piano and guitars. And Kyo's voice. 🖤
For ただ、まだ、私。・tada, mada, watashi. there was no visualisation on the screen, so it looked like there was no screen besides a bit of a smoke by the floor. There was light coming from the back of the stage and very lightly the band members silhouettes appeared above the stage. And because of this the stage appeared to be very deep.
I liked the flow of the last part of the setlist, it didn't feel as gut wrenching as the first night.
The end credits started aready during Margaret and Kyo calmly left as soon as the song ended. The rest of the band followed as fans started to give applause.
I'm so curious what we will see in Tokyo. Only one more performance left.

i think it’s ridiculous to expect people to make stuff for certain fandoms really consistently or to ask why they stopped making stuff for something because that’s just like, not a realistic approach to how liking things works, but since i haven’t posted any ace attorney since winter when i was playing apollo justice and i still love ace attorney, i do just kind of want to give my reasoning. there is of course the simple fact that there were other things i wanted to draw, of course, and draw them i did. but the reason there was a huge lull in ace attorney art?
i was trying to play dual destinies.
no joke. i tried to play all the games in chronological narrative order (trilogy -> aai/aai2 -> aa4 -> dd -> soj) and like. i adore the trilogy so so much, and aai was like... it had a lot of likeable elements but also a lot of problems and it dragged so hard. and then i got to aa4 and it was such a breath of fresh air returning to the good shu-takumi-directed proper ace attorney and finally meeting apollo and klavier and trucy and everyone else and i loved it.
and then i tried to play dual destinies.
guys, it’s so bad. people on here truly undersell how bad it is just because they like some of the characters (but in my opinion, i couldn’t even like, get attached to athena. i’m sorry. she’s somehow both severely overwritten and underwritten at the same time. you’d have to rework her so much to make her compelling and even then she and her story still wouldn’t fit into a sequel to aa4) but it is literally not at all worth it. i ended up dropping it a few months ago halfway through turnabout academy because i couldn’t take it anymore. and like, soj is apparently worse. the moment i made the decision to abandon it i felt better and started wanting to engage with aa again. like. god, dd is so bad.
anyway i’m now like halfway through professor layton v. phoenix wright: ace attorney and i recommend it SO SO MUCH. it’s such a blast it’s got a really strong story and excellent phoenix & maya characterisation and as always kazuya nuri’s art direction rocks and brings a really lovely cohesive and warm palette to the game (and like. the 3d models are SO much better than the ones in the yamazaki games it’s unreal. phoenix and maya look like themselves and are actually expressive and not disproportionate and not whitewashed either) and the puzzles are super fun (as are the layton characters but. i’m selling this to aa fans rn). it also introduces game mechanics that work really well but also serve as like protypes/the groundwork for mechanics for tgaac. it’s definitely longer than your standard aa game but in the good way, not in the “takeshi yamazaki can’t pace his narratives for shit and nobody in the dev team calls him out on it” way like is the case with aai2 and dd and that god forsaken final case of aai at the embassy.
be kind to yourselves and pick up plvpw and never ever touch dd or soj <3333 peace and love

If you are still up for character asks, how about Sumia. I was sad no one asked about her yet.
And your latest fan art got me interested in also hearing your thoughts on Takumi. If you feel ok answering since I know you haven't played Fates.
I’ve been sad about that too so thank you for rectifying that situation ❤
How do I feel about this character?
My girl.  I love Sumia so much, she is one of my absolute favorite characters in Awakening and one I will never pass up an opportunity to write.  I love her and how passionate she is about books, how deeply invested she gets in the stories and characters and how she uses them both as an escape from her own life (where she can’t help but dwell on her own shortcomings) and as a source of inspiration and courage.  There’s something intensely relatable about wanting an escape like that, feeling outclassed or useless and getting lost in a book as a way to cope -- and yet she’s so capable, even if she doesn’t recognize it herself.  She seems so used to people looking down on her or criticizing what she does or making fun of her slip-ups that she’s started to really believe all of it, when the reality is that her mistakes have never been her defining trait: seeing her learn to embrace her own skills and talents is so heartwarming and I find myself constantly rooting for her to succeed in everything.
Who do I ship this character with romantically?
Sully!!  Sully and Sumia is one of my favorite ships in all of Awakening, honestly: I love these two ladies who are so gung-ho about horses and bond over that mutual interest and I love the idea of them getting together and learning more about each other, bolstering one another’s confidence (Sully reassuring Sumia that she’s more capable than she thinks and offering to train her if it would make her feel more assured, Sumia insisting that Sully doesn’t need to be girly to be a woman and gushing about how she admires the cavalier) and falling for one another in the process.  It’s just really warm and I love it a lot, and given how encouraging they are in their supports, I really think they’d be a fantastic match for each other.
Also, I do love her with Chrom, and I feel like she’d be an encouraging influence for him, doing what she can to give him confidence and help him keep moving forward in spite of the obstacles; she’s such a bright and refreshing character and I think they could end up working really well together, leveraging their individual strengths to make the halidom a better place.  And I really enjoy her with Robin, too, considering how they bond over their mutual love of books, and I think Robin would be one of those people who really can see her for who she is, rather than the klutz she sees herself as.  It’s especially good when it’s both of them together with her though (yes I love my OT3).
Who is my brOTP for this character?
Robin and Sully, when I’m not shipping them!  Their relationships are so strong and they’re founded on such deep rooted friendship that even when I have them in other relationships, those bonds remain.  Also, even though she doesn’t have any supports with him in the game (which is criminal), I love the idea of a Sumia and Kellam friendship.  Kellam is someone who struggles to be noticed, Sumia’s someone who often seems to wish she could disappear.  The idea of them coming together and overcoming their obstacles together is really heartwarming to me.
What’s my Unpopular Opinion™ about this character?
She’s so much more capable than fandom wants to give her credit for.  Most people seem to write her off as stupid, passing over her as a brainless klutz in favor of the “genius” Cordelia -- but this is such a disservice to Sumia and her character.  She’s a fantastic fighter if given the chance, outrunning and outmaneuvering enemies, and while the game loves to play her off as comic relief, she’s a character with interesting, thoughtful support conversations whose life clearly doesn’t revolve around getting a man’s attention.  She’s her own person with hopes and dreams, hobbies and interests, unique skills and charming quirks, and bothering to get to know her really allows her to shine.
And personally, I don’t think she’s actually that clumsy.  Sure, she can be a little scatterbrained sometimes, but even the smartest and most capable people can be; when she has too many things to juggle she slips up in comic ways, but when push comes to shove she’s incredibly capable; if she weren’t, she never would have been able to rescue Chrom at the Longfort (sometimes I think people forget that she’s the one who swept in and got him clear of the javelins).
(And for a bonus unpopular opinion: I hate Cordelia and Sumia as a ship.  Cordelia is so mean to Sumia in their supports, banning Sumia from telling her flower fortunes because she personally doesn’t see value in them -- she doesn’t even bother trying to understand what Sumia’s doing or why, she just decides that her own way is the only right way, which is not how friends should act; putting them in a relationship is out of the question for me.)
What’s one thing I wish would have happened with this character in canon?
Why does she have so few supports?  It’s not fair that she can so easily end up alone because the game limits her options so much; aside from Chrom, she has the fewest marriage options, but unlike him she doesn’t have an auto-marriage after a certain point.  It’s not fair that the game treated her that way, and I wish canon had given her more supports, platonic and romantic both.  Again, seeing her with Kellam would have been incredible, and I really wish they’d bothered to give her a support chain with Maribelle, too, considering how Maribelle treats her early on; it would have been amazing to see them work things out.
and you know I was wondering if people forgot my favorite Fates character
How do I feel about this character?
I have never played Fates.  I know about these games purely through fandom osmosis.  And yet I will say, in no uncertain terms, that Takumi is my absolute favorite Fates character. Fallen Takumi is still one of my very few units at +10 merges in Heroes because I love him that much.  And it’s kind of hilarious how it came to this because it’s kind of Heroes’ fault that I’m in this situation.
I remember when the game first launched how much of a pain he was in the early Arena before Skill Inheritance was a thing, and how the only reliable counter I had for him was Hector because I’d never gotten Takumi myself.  And then one day he randomly showed up in a summon, and I was so excited I ran off to train him immediately...and realized as I did that this guy has some massive self-esteem problems.  It’s what got me interested in him in the first place, enough to do some digging in the wikis, and I kind of fell in love with his character: he’s smart, he’s capable, but he has a massive inferiority complex since he’s grown up in the shadow of his older brother -- something Corrin’s return manages to make worse, since everyone kind of loses their minds over it and pushes him down and away despite the fact that he’s the only one being sensible and questioning whether they can really trust Corrin after they were brought up in Nohr.  While he has an attitude problem that needs to be addressed (though it’s nowhere near as bad as Felix’s), he can get better and gain confidence in himself and his abilities...but in Conquest, his fate is an absolutely tragic one, where his self-doubt and anger allow Anankos a foothold, something to prey upon, and ultimately lead to his loss of control, loss of self, and loss of life.  His story just really hits me in the heart, kind of like Lyon, and I just want to see him grow and overcome his doubts.
Who do I ship this character with romantically?
Okay so this is probably where my not having played the game is going to bite me but I have no idea. There are so many characters in Fates and I don’t even know half of them.  I know Leo is a popular partner for him but I’ve never really seen the chemistry there so I can’t say that’s for me; I could always cheat and say I ship him with happiness because honestly that is true, I really do want him to be happy first and foremost, but I don’t have an actual character answer whoops.
Who is my brOTP for this character?
Azura.  I love the idea of the two of them coming together as friends, both haunted and hounded by nightmares and terrible thoughts they can’t seem to shake, and finding ways to support one another through it.  I get the feeling that Takumi might have treated Azura with some distrust early on, but despite the fact that she came from Nohr, I honestly think they could have ended up having a close bond in Hoshido growing up as they struggle with their own problems, and it would have been amazing to see them come together to overcome them.  Also, I love the idea of him and Sakura being close as siblings, with Takumi protecting Sakura and helping draw attention off her when she’s feeling especially shy while she tries to encourage him and give him a place where he can relax with and get away from all his issues for a little while, someone he can enjoy himself with and not have to think about his problems.
What’s my Unpopular Opinion™ about this character?
I actually don’t know what kind of popular opinions there are about Takumi so I have no idea what kind of unpopular opinion I could have.  Honestly I don’t see anywhere near enough to Takumi in general since he seems to be eclipsed by not only his older brother but the Nohrian royals in fandom-wide popularity; is it an unpopular opinion to want more people to give him a chance, rather than writing him off as just an angry nay-sayer?  Because honestly, he is the only one with any sense, since he’s the only one who thinks to distrust Corrin when they return.
What’s one thing I wish would have happened with this character in canon?
Okay so this is really really niche but I really wish they’d made Takumi Corrin’s half-brother rather than just a step-brother.  It honestly would have made so much sense?  Takumi’s the only other character who has the same kind of pale hair that Corrin canonically does, even if it’s not the exact same shade, so if that came from Mikoto it would fit perfectly with not only Corrin’s and Takumi’s hair color, but Sakura’s hair being that super pale pink compared to Hinoka’s vibrant red, which is what you’d probably expect from Ikona and Sumeragi after Ryoma inherited his father’s very dark hair.  I get the feeling they didn’t do it because they wanted to make all the royals available as romance options, which is both cheap and gross (and after what they did with Azura in Revelations it’s worse), but I think it would have been a really interesting plot element if they’d taken the time.

Getting Possessive
Tumblr media
➪ pairings: bokuto x reader, kuroo x reader, oikawa x reader
➪ request: a scenario where Bokuto, Kuroo n Tooru (or anyone else) get,,possessive bc their s/o was partnered up w another guy for a project
➪ genre: fluff
Tumblr media
Bokuto Kōtarō
“Now for your biggest project this year, which I mentioned was going to be by partner since it’ll probably take a while to complete, I’ll be announcing your pair today.”
Bokuto excitedly looks at you with an infectious grin, something about how your teacher said ‘announcing your pair,’ made it feel romantic, so it has to be you and him. You love getting partnered up with Bo since he’s so inspired and motivated when he works with you.
“Y/n, should we start it this weekend at my place?” He whispers not-so-discreetly to you which earns the two of you a disapproving glance from your teacher. “Sure, it’s going to be fun,” you grin back at him, showing him a thumbs-up which only makes him more excited.
“What snacks should I prepare?” That was the last straw for your ever so patient sensei. The both of you were supposed to be partners even when he picked randomly, but what good would that do? He thinks you two are probably going to goof around, using the project as an excuse to meet up.
“Next, l/n y/n, and uh,” he glances around to whoever wasn’t called yet and unfortunately it lands on the pretty boy behind you, “uh Takumi Usui,” he finishes, Bokuto rising up his chair at an instant. There was a lot of his pleading before he got scolded, your teacher never gave in and now he’s miserable.
“Hey, Kō I’m bummed you’re not my partner too but your partner has much greater brains than me! It should be fine,” you pat at his back while he slouches from beside you on his chair and plants his face on your lap. He only whines in misery in response and you can’t help but chuckle as you run your fingers through his hair.
“Could you even breathe down there?” You’re lowkey embarrassed to be in that position with him in the middle of the classroom.
Feeling a light tap on your shoulder, you look behind you to see your partner smile at you. “Uh, hey, it’s cool we got to be partners y/n-chan, when should we meet up?”
Okay first of all, Y/N-CHAN?? He automatically turns to observe your face, his cheek now against your thighs. “Well, I’m free this weekend,” you smile back at him.
He should’ve been the one who’s going to meet you that weekend. “Can I come along?” He sits up and smiles at the both of you, you’re horrified and lowkey embarrassed while your partner’s surprised.
You face him and offer him a small smile, “Kō, you have your own partner to work with,” you gently tell him, touching his knee. He doesn’t respond but instead his hair droops along with his mood.
“Sorry ‘bout that,” you smile at Usui and Bokuto just short-circuits and panics as he watches you divert your attention to your partner once more. “It’s alright, so this weekend at my place, maybe?”
Bokuto grits his teeth, looking at the both of you in disbelief. “She’s mine! She’s mine, okay?” He blurts out, yanking your chair closest to him as possible and possessively wrapping his arms around your shoulders.
You, along with the rest of the class stare up at him and he’s fidgeting a little once he sees you bury your face in your hands, “I mean she’s not an object I could claim mine, but- uh- she’s your partner academically! While I- I am her pair in a romantic kind of way!”
You sigh before you untangle yourself from his arms, and he looks at you sorrily, afraid he’s made you mad but you offer your hand to him instead. After second-glancing you, he puts his big hand in yours and lets you guide him out of the room and in the quiet hallway.
“What was that about Kō?” You look up at him expectantly, crossing your arms against your chest. He doesn’t meet your eyes and looks down to his fingers instead, “are you mad at me?”
When you don’t respond, he continues, “sensei said he was announcing our pair, and it sounds so romantic and soulmate-like, I can’t believe I’m not your pair y/n, I’m not your soulmate,” his tone just gets sadder and sadder and you can’t help but chuckle, wrapping your arms around his waist and bringing him to a shock.
“Don’t be silly Kō, just like you said, no matter what, I’m yours,” you look up at him and he pouts, and it might just be your imagination but you think you saw his bottom lip quiver.
“Really?” He draws up his hand to tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear.
“Really.”
Tumblr media
Kuroo Tetsurō
“Oya oya?” Like a pest he pops up out of nowhere while you sit side by side with your partner in the library; and you glare daggers at your boyfriend before he grins at the two of you. “Are you even doing that right?”
“None of your business, Tetsurō,” you swat away his hand from your shoulder, “get lost.” He only pouts at you before pulling up a chair, moving yours aside and sitting between the two of you. “Uh, excuse me, we have a project to finish.” Your partner sighs.
He knew Kuroo was displeased when your teacher announced you were partners because maybe he sat a little bit too close to you in class, but Kuroo constantly showing up unannounced was getting on his nerves.
“Excuse you, I’m not letting you drag down chibi-chan’s grades down the gutter along with yours,” he smirks at him, his cockiness short-lived as he’s met with your elbow to his ribs. “Get. Lost. Now,” you stare him down, his brows raising at you.
“You obviously need help, I mean, doesn’t your back hurt from carrying your entire project?” He jokes but he’s only met with your disapproving eyes, “okay, okay, backing off now, tell me if you need help.”
He unwillingly gets up from his chair, feigning a genuine smile your way as he drags his chair out of the way so you could sit closer to your partner. “Sorry about that dork,” you sigh. “Must be a pain, huh?”
The moment your eyes are off him, his smile falls, instantly replaced by a menacing sharp glare sending chills down your partner’s spine. “I’m one call away, kitten, I could sub in for your partner anytime,” he reminds you again, standing behind the both of you.
“My partner’s completely fine Tetsurō, you’re not needed,” you mindlessly say, scribbling something on your paper before glancing back at your partner to ask him something. He scoffs in disbelief; how could you be so cruel to him?
Deciding it was best to just leave his girlfriend who apparently doesn’t need him alone, he kicks the back of your partner’s chair before making his way to the door with a frown. Kenma wasn’t even listening to his rants, but from the gist of it he could tell his best friend was being possessive while you’re simply clueless.
“Y’know, I think your boyfriend’s acting kinda possessive.”
“No, he’s probably just bored or something so he bugs me and all that,” you shrug. Honey, that’s definitely not it.
By the time his volleyball practice ends, he races to the library. Oh, look at that little prick sitting so unnecessarily close to you, he exhales a breath in annoyance, hands in his hips as he observes you two from outside. Kai had advised him to not bother you, so he’ll just wait out.
He couldn’t just stand still though when you shiver and rub your hands together so now he’s come in the library again, making his way to the two of you. “Oh, great, he’s here again,” your partner huffs and you look up at Kuroo, wondering why he’s got a frown on his face.
“Shut up, you really don’t wanna try me right now,” he grits his teeth, silently putting on his jacket over your frame. “You don’t have to finish it all up in one go, kitten, I could take you home to rest now,” he mutters, putting his hands on your shoulders and massaging them.
“We’re almost finished, we’re wrapping it up,” you smile up at him and he sighs. “Fine.” You’re stunned when he slams his palm on the table, his arm between the both of you. “But some distance, maybe?” He turns to face your partner who immediately moves his chair a foot away.
“Oh, and could you pass me that book over there,” Kuroo nods to your partner’s book.
“What for?” He scoffs.
“I’m obviously not going to hit you with it if that’s what you’re worried about,” he muses before grabbing the book himself. “Tetsu, what are you even doing?”
He looks at you with a playful smile before leaning in and tilting his head to the side, your lips a mere inch apart, “I’m motivating you to finish.” He locks lips with you. Your partner was stiff, but he couldn’t see at all as Kuroo blocks your pressed lips with the very book he had snatched.
“I’ll wait outside, I’ve only come in to kiss my girl, oh, and here’s your book,” he tosses it to him, eyes directly on his as he wipes the corner of his lips just to make his point before walking out, sending a wink your way.
“Yup, he’s definitely possessive,” you watch him as he walks out.
Tumblr media
 Oikawa Tōru
The moment your teacher announces your partner was someone else who gave him the very foreign feeling of being possessive and wanting to prove you’re his, it seemed like the world was ending.
“Hey, Iwa-chan, do you still see our sensei over there?” He whispers, and Iwaizumi looks at him like he’s gone insane. “What?”
“Because all I see is the devil, how dare he,” he bites the inside of his cheek, eyes darting to the back of your head while you discuss something with your insanely attractive partner who he admits is generously half as pretty as him. “Are you still on about how y/n should be your partner?” Iwaizumi rolls his eyes.
“It’s only common sense, they don’t look great together at all.”
“This is not some matchmaking crap shittykawa, this is a school project.” The bell finally rings, class was officially over for the day.
“You just don’t understand Iwa-chan,” he clicks his tongue before slinging his bag to his shoulder and making his way over to you.
“Y/n-chan!” You’re flustered when you feel a hand on your stomach as you’re pulled to Tōru’s chest. “Who’s this?” He smiles at your partner who stood across the two of you. “What do you mean ‘who’s this,’ he’s our classmate, he’s my partner too.”
Okay, something along the lines of ‘my partner’ had his eye twitching. He listens in to your conversation as you make plans about when you should meet, his chin resting above your head the whole time while he hugs you from behind.
You know Tōru’s not really one for caring who sees him displaying affection so his behavior now would pass up as normal but you get the feeling he’s purposely trying to show off right now.
“So we could start today then, at my place?” You partner asks, but before you could respond, Tōru beats you to it. “Absolutely not, Usui-kun,” he scowls as if Usui had said something so controversial. You also notice how he had unconsciously held you to him tighter.
“Someone’s a possessive boyfriend,” your partner grins.
“Me?” He scoffs, “I know I’m crazy for y/n and it shows, but I’m not that crazy.”
“Fine, then we’re going to my house.”
“The answer remains no, you’re not worthy enough to bring my y/n-chan inside your house.” You’re awkwardly just standing there, feeling more suffocated as Oikawa holds you closer to him the more their argument drags on.
“What are you, her dad?” Usui scoffs, but is now caught off guard upon meeting Oikawa’s cold eyes and taunting smirk.
“You’d be surprised as to what y/n calls me inside the walls of my bedroom,” he says it like it’s no big deal, and you break free from his hold, about to slap his chest but Iwaizumi smacks his head before you could lay a hand on him.
“Ow! Iwa-chan, my brain hurts!”
“I doubt you even have one shittykawa! Don’t go blurting out stuff like that,” he scolds.
“Thanks Iwa,” you genuinely smile at him before glaring at Oikawa. “Uh, so where then?” Your partner interrupts. “We could go to my place, my mom wouldn’t mind, might as well go now while it’s still early,” you walk towards him, Oikawa’s jaw dropping at how you so quickly left his side.
“Hey, wait a minute y/n-chan, I don’t approve of this,” he whines, yanking your wrist. “You really don’t have a say in this Tōru, we have a project to work on, byebye,” you hastily kiss his cheek before leaving with your partner.
He was hot on his heels about to follow you out but he’s yanked by the collar and dragged to practice by the impatient Iwaizumi. “Hey Usui-kun, my mom wouldn’t like you!” He shouts, struggling to not get his arm ripped off as he tries to resist Iwaizumi dragging him to the opposite direction of the both of you.
“We don’t have the same mom, Tōru!”
The instant practice ends, he has made it to his way inside your home, bearing chocolates and flowers for your mother. “Tōru, why are you here? And what’s all this?” Your mom asks him and he only chuckles while scratching the back of his neck, “I just haven’t dropped by in a while, where’s y/n though?”
Please not your bedroom.
“She’s in her bedroom with Usu-
“What? You can’t be on first-name basis with him already! Uh- I mean, I’m sorry, can I go up to her room?”
Your mother knowingly smiles as Oikawa dashes up the stairs. Looking at the chocolates he brought, it was as if he wanted to bribe your mom into liking him more. It was just like when you first brought him home.
“WHY IS THE DOOR EVEN CLOSED?” You yelp in shock when the door swings open, revealing a screaming Tōru fresh from his practice. “Geez, relax, it was windy.” You sigh, getting up from the floor to give him a hug but he has marched his way past you.
“Then at least close your window, not the door,” he grumbles as he shuts your windows so the wind couldn’t get in. He turns to look at the both of you wearing the same expression of ‘what the hell are you even doing here.’
“You.” He points down at Usui who was still sat on the floor, “what are you still doing here? Get up, I’m kicking you out.”
“Tōru I am this close to kicking you out, we have a project to finish,” you hiss at him, pushing him away from your area of scattered papers and plopping him down on your bed. “Stay there, don’t make noise, and let us work in peace.”
He frowns, turning to lay on his stomach and prodding his elbows against the mattress as he rests his chin on his hands. He observes the two of you work, his frown never leaving his face as you kept on ignoring him.
“Hey, y/n-chan, can I have a kiss?” He asks, looking at your partner to see his reaction.
“No, Toru, you cannot,” you deadpan, making Usui chuckle.
His smile only returns to his face upon bidding your partner goodbye, his teeth showing at how happy he was as he faces both you and your mom. “Now, I declare this lovely household cleansed!”
You only roll your eyes, guiding him up your room so you could cuddle while your mom starts to prepare dinner.

ix. double mother's day
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the scene in the kitchen is utterly adorable.
the tall man standing at the counter covered in ingredients and utensils was no foreign sight, but the two stools on either side of him were, just like his two little mini-me’s standing on top of them.
“ya see this part between yer finger ‘n yer thumb? after you scoop a little bit of the filling into the rice, roll it into a ball like this and then squeeze very gently into this part of yer hand to shape it.” the man explains to his sons as they try to imitate his practiced movements with clumsy hands.
the two boys pout at their messy products when their eyes fall on their dad’s perfect onigiri, one more vocal about their disappointment than the other.
“papa! s’not pretty like yours!” takumi cries while his brother nodded in agreement, big round eyes shining with unshed tears.
“wan’ mine pretty like mama,” warbles ryo, bottom lip wobbling as he holds in the sobs threatening to rack his tiny body.
osamu is quick to wipe his hands off on the kitchen towel slung over his shoulder and settle his warm palms on their backs. “hey, hey, shhh, s’okay.” squatting down to their level, he presses a chaste kiss to each of their cheeks, still plump with baby fat. “there’s plenty more for ya to practice, but i think these’re pretty ‘cause you made them. i bet your mama’s gonna love ‘em more than mine anyhow.”
sighing internally, the father is relieved to see two pairs of eyes blinking up at him, shining with hope and excitement instead of tears and disappointment.
“promise, papa?” the younger twin pipes up, echoed soon after by a softer, watery “promise?”
large frame still crouched down beside them, osamu presents his two little fingers for his two little chefs, “pinky promise.”
after attempting to wrap their much smaller fingers around their father’s, the younger miyas settle for taking their respective fingers into a firm handshake while osamu tries his damnedest to not laugh at how cute his sons are with their brows furrowed solemnly.
“okay, okay, let’s finish the onigiri and then work on mama’s cakes, yea?”
“yea! gon’ make pretty onigiwi for mama!”
“wanna mix, please, papa?”
“sure, ryo. you can mix the cake batter.”
“me too! me too! wanna mix!”
a gentle smile tugs at the corner of osamu’s lips, knowing that he’d have to finish the rice balls on his own once he got his boys set up and situated.
“good thing i have two whisks then,” he says to himself, bustling about, opening and shutting cabinets, and gathering the ingredients to make two mini sponge cakes.
as ryo and takumi watch their father measure and scoop out of various containers and cartons, they bounce on the balls of their feet, eager to receive the cups he hands to them and dump them into the identical bowls on the counter in front of them.
by the time the cakes were cooled, decorated and left in the fridge, a few more onigiri were sitting in the container next to the two, smaller, messier ones, and two little miyas were snoozing away on their snoring papa’s broad chest as they wait for you to come home.
Tumblr media
“okay, kiddos,” atsumu chimes as he plops a storage container full of art supplies on the living room floor. “what’re ya gonna make for mommy?”
“wanna give mommy flower!” his princess cheers. “fitting,” he thinks with a smile. “should be easy enough.”
“no flower! dinosaur for mommy! rawr!” accompanied by the pitter-patter of tiny feet on the hardwood, the input signals ryuki’s disinterest in the stuffed animals he was playing with, eager to make a gift for his mother.
however, this makes hana pout and stomp her feet, albeit adorably. “dinosaur not pretty! flower pretty like mommy!”
quick to deescalate the situation, atsumu pulls out a few sheets of paper and two sets of crayons. “princess, ya can make mommy the prettiest flower she’s ever seen, but if yer brother wants to make a dinosaur, that’s okay, too! mommy likes flowers and dinosaurs, mkay?” getting a couple of head nods and quiet “okay, daddy”s, he gives them a bright smile and the supplies he drew from the storage container. “now how about you both draw what you wanna make so i can help you once you’re done, yea?”
excited that they both get to make what they want, the two tots get to work, diligently turning colorful scribbles into the likenesses of… a rose? and a t-rex? atsumu is impressed by his kids’ artistic abilities as he grabs a pair of scissors, sheets of felt, cardboard, and bottles of glue from the box beside him. “definitely didn’t get those genes from me.”
“daddy, daddy! m’done!” hana exclaims triumphantly, holding up her drawing proudly. “see flower?”
“i do see, princess. it’s very pretty,” the father nods solemnly. “ya want the same color for the petals?” her head bobs vigorously, making atsumu chuckle as he singles out a sheet of white felt. “‘kay, m’gonna cut ‘em out for ya to glue ‘em on. can ya squeeze the glue on the cardboard for me first?”
as hana sets out to do just that, ryuki pops up with his creation in hand, “done now, daddy!”
“good job, my handsome boy! such a cool dinosaur,” atsumu gently ruffles his son’s hair, large hand dwarfing his small head. “do what your sister’s doing and i’ll cut out your pieces, too.”
a couple moments pass in silence as the three miyas accomplish their individual tasks. once the glue is drizzled over the cardboard, atsumu lets his kids pick out a sheet of felt in whatever color their little hearts desired. with pink felt laid upon hana’s board and blue on ryuki’s, the father then instructs them to put dabs of glue where each piece of felt would go.
“here ya go, this one goes right here like this,” he says, guiding their hands to orient the felt scraps in their respective places. “and then ya put a little glue here an’ then this piece goes there.” soon enough, despite the scraps of felt littering the floor and sticky hands getting glue everywhere, twin gazes gleam proudly as they take in their finished products.
“let’s go wash our hands,” atsumu tells them, unfolding himself from where he sat between his children and stretching his arms high above his head. “and then it’s snack time. how’s that sound?”
“yay! snacks!” the smaller miyas hoot, little legs carrying them to the bathroom as fast as they could. tsumu cleans up the mess left behind and hides their crafts on the top shelf of the hallway closet to dry before sauntering into the kitchen with a firm resolve to recreate the onigiri his brother taught him without burning the rice or forgetting to season anything this time.

Entry 50: Oops! All Supports Volume #8
The portal babies are going to be weird. Most of their Supports are going to come from the OAS entries. Add it onto the pile of close to thirty Birthright Supports I didn’t get to. Also, because this is Entry 50 and I hate myself, I’m doing twenty different Supports today instead of ten. God help me. I’m already a few days behind and this won’t help.
Support: Mana/Sophie
C: Kana manages to befriend Sophie's horse Avel, despite Avel normally being horrible.
B: Kana and Sophie see a burning building and Avel happily allows Sophie to ride him so she can save people.
A: Kana and Sophie discuss how Avel is loyal to Sophie, despite his assholeness, and will follow only her into battle.
S: Kana gets friendzoned.
Review: Not bad. Avel being a good horse when the chips are down is great. Also, this is the second time Kana’s been friendzoned. Poor kid.
Support: Corrin/Hinata
C: Corrin finds Hinata training. Corrin is surprised, because they heard Hinata was lazy.
B: Hinata beats Corrin in a duel, so Corrin runs laps to get stronger.
A: Hinata reveals that he trains so hard because he lost a fight to Takumi once and wants to beat him.
S: Hinata does the promise to protect blah blah blah I like you blah blah thing.
Review: Not necessarily awful, but very generic and lacking any spark to make it stand out.
Support: Mitama/Shiro
C: Shiro finds Mitama sleeping outside. He wakes her and she heads to her room so she can take another nap.
B: Shiro explains that falling asleep on a battlefield is dangerous, Mitama explains that she's ensuring she's fully rested for battle.
A: Shiro takes a nap outside. Mitama agrees to stop sleeping outside as much.
S: Shiro asks Mitama to be his girlfriend.
Review: Very shallow. Mitama is somewhat amusing, but other than that this is completely forgettable.
Support: Dwyer/Selkie
C: Dwyer is woken up by Selkie chasing a bird.
B: Selkie gurts herself climbing a tree. Dwyer, not wanting to ignore a not-ugly lady in distress, tends her wounds.
A: Dwyer tries to convince Selkie to stop hurting herself. Selkie drags him off to go frolic.
S: Dwyer decides to tend to Selkie's wounds for the rest of his life. Selkie decides they should get married and claims she planned this from the beginning.
Review: A fun, cute fluff Support.
Support: Azura/Saizo
C: Saizo tells Azura that she doesn't trust her because she's from Nohr.
B: Saizo injures himself protecting Azura. Azura tends to his wounds. Saizo notices a scar on Azura and Azura explains that some noble children beat the shit out of her when she was a kid. Again, who the fuck thought it was a good idea to bully the violent sadistic king's stepdaughter?
A: Saizo apologizes for forcing Azura to relive painful memories. Azura says he only has to say thank you and that she wants him to be her ally.
S: Saizo offers Azura a magic salve that can heal any scar. He doesn't use it because his scar is important and also HE'S A MANY MAN AND NOT A DELICATE LADY. Azura says she loves him despite the sexism.
Review: A very good Support that gives good characterization to both Azura and Saizo.
Support: Felicia/Takumi
C: Felicia runs into Takumi while carrying the laundry. Literally. Takumi grumpily helps her clean it up.
B: Takumi tries to yell at Felicia to be careful, she ignores him and talks about her hometown. Takumi insinuates there's a problem with how Felicia was raised and apologizes when she calls him out.
A: Takumi keeps an eye on Felicia to keep her from messing everything up. Felicia cries. Takumi praises her for being a hard worker.
S: Takumi asks Felicia to tell him about her village, because he likes her and she cares about it.
Review: Not bad, but could have had a bit more lore about Felicia’s village or had Takumi play a more active role.
Support: Kaden/Mozu
C: Kaden has a fatty piece of meat, which he doesn't want to eat because it's unhealthy. Mozu offers to cook the fat off. Kaden offers to split it.
B: Mozu makes a really good soup. She compares Kaden to a little kid for being impatient.
A: Kaden guts a fish, which makes Mozu think he's wise and mature. Sure, why not. Mozu says he's like a brother to her, because this game didn't have enough pseudo-sibling fucking.
S: Mozu says Kaden is everything she wants in a man.
Review: Overall, a fairly mediocre Support lacking a consistent throughline.
Support: Kagero/Setsuna
C: Setsuna is tasked with delivering important messages during a battle and forgets them, so Kagero is ordered to help Setsuna become a better messenger.
B: Kagero gives Setsuna sentences to repeat back to her. Setsuna forgets them immediately because she has the memory of a goldfish.
A: Kagero comes up with a better solution: babysitting Setsuna to make sure she doesn't fuck up.
Review: An overall decent Support. Although it raises one big question: who the hell thought it was a good idea to make Setsuna a messenger? They’re the real idiot in this army.
Support: Azama/Subaki
C: People have begun saying Azama and Subaki are training together. This angers Azama, who hates Subaki for pretending to be perfect. Subaki doesn't mind.
B: Azama goes on a hike and finds Subaki training alone so other people won't see him get tired.
A: Azama explains that the difference between them is that Subaki cares what other people think about him and Azama just doesn't give a shit.
Review: Overall a bit bland. Also how did the training rumors start? Part of me feels like this is an “oh my god they were roommates” scenario.
Support: Hinoka/Jakob
C: Jakob finds Hinoka training and praises her courage and fighting skill. Hinoka says she used to be trained in formal princess behavior, but through all that away to spend more time training. B: Jakob offers to train Hinoka in etiquette again. Hinoka ends up remembering everything anyway. A: Jakob explains that war is more than battle and courtly training is just as important. S: Jakob says he loves Hinoka. Hinoka points out how sudden this is, and Jakob offers to leave and come back later. They get together.
Review: Wow that romance came out of nowhere. They even point it out! Aside from that, this Support is very lackluster. It avoids all conflict by having Hinoka not have anything to learn and leaves Jakob without any development.
Support: Hisame/Kiragi
C: Hisame acts subservient and loyal to Kiragi. Kiragi asks him to treat him like a friend, similar to how Takumi and Hinata act. Hisame rejects this, saying Hinata should treat his betters with respect. Also they mention that Takumi and Hinata bathe together, which is interesting.
B: Kiragi says that they don't have to be master/servant just because their fathers are. Hisame suggests that they play shogi to become friends.
A: The two of them have fun playing shogi. Hisame acknowledges they're friends now.
Review: This one is interesting, analyzing that Hinata doesn’t really act like the retainer of a prince. Kiragi just wanting to be friends with Hisame is nice, and Hisame acting like an actual medieval person is interesting. I do wish this Support, and the game as a whole, had more analysis of class divides, though.
Support: Setsuna/Silas
C: Silas is attacked by an enemy archer. By an enemy archer, I mean Setsuna, who fell into a pit and fired arrows out to get his attention.
B: Setsuna does it again, almost injuring her fellow soldiers. Setsuna blushes while talking to Silas for...some reason.
A: Setsuna falls in a pit and accidentally kills a bunch of enemies while firing arrows.
S: Silas proposes. Halfway through the proposal, Setsuna falls into a pit. Silas rescues her and she immediately does it again.
Review: This is a fun Support. Setsuna being more willing to shoot Silas than ask for help is relatable. Setsuna taking out enemies by accident and wandering off in the middle of a confession is hilarious. Also, between this and the Kagero Support, I’m starting to think Setsuna is a liability.
Support: Midori/Shigure
C: Midori shows Shigure her herb garden. In the middle of it is a pretty flower bub that Midori likes.
B: Shigure helps Midori garden.
A: The flower blooms; Midori says it's a rare flower that is a symbol of happiness.
S: Shigure tells Midori to stay out of battle because he can't bear to see her hurt. When Midori refuses, Shigure instead vows to protect her throughout the war and after.
Review: This one had a surprisingly good S-Rank. I like the idea of Shigure being paranoid about his loved ones getting hurt because he’s already lost his entire village. Unfortunately, other than that, this Support is fairly bland.
Support: Asugi/Dwyer
C: Dwyer somehow manages to beat Asugi in a fight. Asugi challenges him to a rematch and Dwyer leaves to take a nap.
B: Asugi spies on Dwyer all day to find out how he trains. Dwyer does nothing but nap. Dwyer reveals that Jakob beat fighting skills into him as a kid so he doesn't have to train anymore.
A: Asugi challenges Dwyer to a baking contest. Dwyer forfeits before it even begins.
Review: Not bad. Dwyer completely shutting Asugi down out of laziness is fun.
Support: Hinata/Rinkah
C: Rinkah watches Hinata fight. She tells him it's a miracle he isn't dead, considering how sloppy he fights.
B: The two of them spar. Hinata is surprisingly powerful, but Rinkah matches him hit for hit. Rinkah decides to mix Hinata's moves into her one fighting style. A: Hinata and Rinkah fight again, drawing.
S: Hinata asks Runkah to take him to the Flame Tribe...as her husband.
Review: Fairly mediocre. I’ve seen a dozen sparring Supports already and this one lacks anything new.
Support: Jakob/Takumi
C: Takumi asks Jakob to help him train in secret. Jakob says no.
B: Corrin orders Jakob to help Takumi. Takumi snipes arrows off Jakob's head like William Tell.
A: Jakob tells Takumi that his need for others to recognize his skill is immaturity.
Review: Goddamn, Takumi. There are better ways to train than accidentally killing your sister’s retainer! Other than that this is mediocre; Jakob calling out Takumi’s immaturity is nice, but it isn’t built up properly.
Support: Caeldori/Hisame
C: Caeldori and Hisame are tasked with cleaning a shed together because they're the only competent soldiers. Caeldori brings up her respect for her father and Hisame changes the conversation.
B: Hisame explains that he doesn't respect Hinata because Hinata is a moron. Caeldori is disgusted by the idea of not respecting her father.
A: Caeldori apologizes for being forceful. Hisame says that he actually hates Hinata because he's jealous of Hinata's laid-back attitude.
S: Caeldori and Hisame get together because they're smarter than everyone else.
Review: Contrasting their differing views towards their fathers is nice, but the idea that Hisame is jealous of Hinata is ridiculous.
Support: Kiragi/Selkie
C: Kiragi and Selkie race through the woods and notice a group of suspicious men hanging around.
B: Kiragi saves Selkie from the men, who are poachers.
A: Selkie criticizes herself for being too trusting. Kiragi it wasn't her fault and that her kindness is one of her best traits.
S: Kiragi apologizes for allowing Selkie to be captured in the first place and asks Selkie to date him so he can protect her.
Review: Look, follow up to Selkie’s Paralogue! Kiragi being heroic is nice, but Selkie is a bit of a damsel in distress in this one.
Support: Fana/Midori
C: Kana has a sore throat. Midori's medicine doesn't work.
B: Midori tries new medicine. It still doesn't work.
A: Midori realizes Kana needs dragon medicine.
Review: That was a bunch of nothing. I think this is the shortest Support line I’ve read, and damn is it forgettable.
Support: Corrin/Hana
C: Hana is mean to Corrin because Corrin made Sakura sad by being kidnapped. Sakura isn't very smart.
B: Corrin asks about Hana's family, who are also Samurai, and says they apreciate Hana's ambition because they didn't have any when isolated. Hana mentions that her inspiration is her father, a samurai who prerished honorably protecting Sumeragi. Corrin says that dying in and of itself shouldn't be respected. Hana gets mad and storms off.
A: Corrin explains that Hana shouldn't throw her life away because it would make Sakura sad.
S: Corrin says he actually wants Hana to keep living because he has feelings for her. Protect eachother yada yada yada.
Review: I’m torn on this one. It gives backstory for Hana and at least tries to say something meaningful about dying in battle, but the C-Rank has Hana act ridiculous.

Entry 19: Garon’s Pleasure Palace
When we return from the last battle, we find Felicia waiting for us at Fort Kenshi. Apparently, she managed to travel between dimensions to find us. Somehow.
Felicia
Corrin’s Maid and the female counterpart to Jakob. Only, instead of being comically competent, she is a walking disaster. Her personal skill boosts Corrin when they two are fighting together. I actually like Felicia’s design; she wears a generic maid outfit, but her face looks so sad and apologetic. Her clumsy personality will either be fun or annoying, depending on how severe they push it.
Support: Corrin/Felicia
C: Felicia ruins a meal and cries over always messing up. Corrin reassures her by pointing out that in the last battle, her screaming and running for her life distracted the enemy. Felicia explains that she was genuinely running for her life and doesn’t want to be a soldier. Which makes sense, she’s was hired to be a made. Corrin suggests she hang back in battles, but Felicia points out that that would make her useless.
B: Felicia trips and cuts her forehead open, then complains that she is useless to Corrin. Corrin points out that, when they first met, Felicia risked her life to save Corrin from a fever.
C: Felicia, after falling off a ladder into Corrin’s arms, explains that she likes helping people because it makes her feel useful, despite her klutziness.
S: Felicia explains that everything she said in the last conversation was a lie and she helps Corrin because she’s in love. They get married despite class differences.
Review: Excluding the blatant retconning in the S-Rank, this is a really good line. Felicia is an adorable trainwreck and her insecurities about it are really relatable. Her saying that she keeps working because she likes helping people is a good bit of characterization, and it’s a shame that the S-Rank changes it to her liking to help people because she likes the cute prince.
Support: Felicia/Jakob
C: Felicia messes up at serving tea. Jakob admonishes her.
B: Jakob finds Felicia practicing her maid work and says that it would take fifty years of strict teaching to make her competent. Jakob agrees to train her in tea making.
A: Felicia makes a fantastic cup of tea. It’s a fluke, demonstrated when the next one she makes is atrocious.
S: Jakob decides that the only way to cure Felicia’s clumsiness is to spend every moment with her for the rest of his life. So he proposes. It’s cute.
Review: Not bad, but mostly because I like the characters. This one is a bit repetitive, with Felicia messing up and Jakob scolding her, but the A-Rank fluke is nice. Oddly, I actually think the S-Rank is the best conversation in this line.
Support: Ryoma/Takumi
C: Takumi spars with his brother and explains that he needs to get stronger so he can protect Ryoma once Ryoma becomes king.
B: Ryoma explains that he needs more than soldiers, he needs advisors, and asks Takumi to be one after the war.
A: Takumi beats Ryoma in a duel.
Review: Fine, if a bit bland and lacking in conflict.
Support: Kagero/Rinkah
C: Kagero tells Rinkah that people around camp are discussing who is the strongest between them. Rinkah challenges Kagero to a duel and Kagero says no, because she can’t risk getting injured. Rinkah suggests sumo.
B: The two of them sumo, drawing a crowd of very thirsty soldiers. Ultimately, they draw.
A: The two of them reflect that they’ve grown stronger from training together.
Review: So many of these supports lack conflict, it’s infuriating. This one was bland and forgettable. I was going to make a joke about how Rinkah would obviously win, but I looked it up and Kagero has far higher Strength growths.
Birthright Chapter 16: Pleasure Palace
The chapter weirdly begins with a cutscene of Garon talking to Iago, the only scene like this that has happened thus far. Garon warns Iago not to fail him again.
The gang arrive in the Nohrian city Macarath. As soon as they step through the gate, one of the Forsworn murder a woman at the marketplace. Takumi becomes sick, apparently from a Wolfskin bite despite the fact I benched him in the last chapter. The gang decides to steal a healing herb from a local palace.
As they enter the palace, Felicia’s sister Flora shows up. Flora explains that she was relocated to the Pleasure Palace and agrees to get the medicine. Then that dick Iago shows up and attacks us. Flora tries to tell Iago to leave because Garon would be mad if he wrecked the palace, which obviously doesn’t work. Iago KOs Flora with magic and the battle begins.
This is a standard indoors map. You can’t use Takumi because he’s sick. There are some Outlaws to take out for extra gold, but they weren’t much of an issue. Worth noting, I’ve been holding off on promoting units until they reach level 20, and my first unit reached level 20 during this battle: Sakura.
After the battle, Corrin asks Iago who the traitor is. Iago teleports away without answering. At the start of the chapter, Garon said he would kill Iago if he failed again, and Iago just failed, so I guess he’s going to die now.
Takumi and Flora treated. The party agrees to take Flora home to the Ice Tribe village, where they will be able to rest for a while. Right before the chapter ends, a sleeping Takumi mumbles about how Corrin needs to look behind the curtain. That’s probably supposed to be meaningful, but it’s so vague it’s useless.

Note
Hiya i would love to see how leo would react to corrin running to him after picking norh and telling him that she missed him the most out of their siblings i would also love takumi beinglike why don't you want us! We could of been a family!
Here you go!! Again it’s not very long but do enjoy! _へ__(‾◡◝ )>
pairing: leo x corrin
words: 780
Everything around her became muffled. Here she was, told to pick between her two families. Her blood family or the family that had taken her in and treated her as one of their own. Although, she preferred not to think about the kidnapping right now. Her head is on a swivel, looking between her Hoshidan siblings and her Nohr siblings.
Red eyes looking back and forth until she stops. Her decision is made. The desperate look in Leo’s eyes decided for her. She gives one last look towards her Hoshidan family before she turns and starts to run toward her Nohrian family. There’s a feeling of guilt in her as she hears sobs and shouts come from behind her, but it’s washed away quickly at the smiles and relieved looks on her Nohrian family.
Swift hugs are given as the scene is quickly unfolding behind her. Leo is the last one to receive the hug, lasting a little longer than the others. A single tear escapes Corrin’s eyes as she pulls away.
“I missed you the most, y’know,” Corrin says just loud enough for him to hear. There’s a small smile on his face as he wipes away her tear.
“And I missed you.” He responds and he’s rewarded with a smile and quick giggle.
“Your collar is inside out.” His face goes red at her comment. “Just kidding.” Corrin giggles for a moment before turning around and facing the consequence of her choice. His heart is battering against his ribcage for a moment and he doesn’t know what it’s from. The upcoming war or her.
Corrin faces her Hoshidan family and they’re angry. Their frustration had reached a breaking point. The blade, Yato still hums with strong energy but she wonders if this is the right path.
“How could you!!?” Takumi screams at her. “We’re your true family!! They’re nothing but kidnappers!!” His words spark anger within her. The entire week she had been in Hoshido, Takumi had been nothing but hostile towards her. Now, he says that he does want her back. Is it because she made her choice, that her Nohrian siblings are better than they could ever be?
She shakes her head. She can’t think like that now. They had to fight off some soldiers before they retreat home. Back to Nohr, where she belonged. Corrin wields Yato firmly in her hands as her blood family stares her down. Although when she stares them down, trying to keep her composure, there’s a pit in her stomach. She knows these people.
“Corrin, do not be fooled by them! Please, there’s still time for you to join us!” Ryoma yells. The concern in her eldest brother's eyes does not shake her conviction. She made a choice and she won’t be changing her mind anytime soon.
“We could have been a family!” Takumi snarls from his brother’s side. “Of course, why would you want us when they’ve brainwashed you!”
“We would never do anything as obscene as that! Hold your tongue, Hoshidan.” Leo remarks. Corrin sends a small smile towards Leo before everyone is pulled into the conflict.
Magic flies past her and the sounds of weapons clashing ring ever so loudly in her ears as her Nohrian family fight to only retreat now. She avoids her birth family to the best but Takumi seems to have a personal death wish against her as an arrow just barely misses her. The glare from him is almost shocking, there is so much hatred in his eyes.
“Please Takumi, turn the other way. I do not wish to bring you any harm.” Corrin speaks, with very little hope left.
“Ha, as if I can trust you. You made your choice and I will act accordingly. You will die here as a traitor, and it will have been an honour.” Takumi said, ready to draw his bow again.
“I’m sorry Takumi, but I can’t die here,” Corrin said and readies her blade, Yato. It hums in her hands, not in opposition.
The arrow is released and she’s convinced it’s aimed to kill her but with the appearance of trees sprouting from the ground in front of her, protecting her. She looks around to see Leo, hand raised and brynhidlr in the other hand. The look he gives her only affirms her choice as she runs towards Takumi. Sprinting around the trees and blade ready, Takumi is taken by surprise and can’t prepare quick enough. The legendary blade Yato approaches his head, blade flat. It’s a hard hit and Takumi falls to the ground ungracefully.
“I’m sorry, I hope you can forgive me. For now, take a nap.” Corrin says remorsefully.

Takumi/Rhea C-A Support
A/N: Possible content warning for Takumi’s description of his nightmares. Nothing terribly graphic (here) but see here for context if you’re concerned.
Written by @sharyrazade
C SUPPORT
Takumi: [notices woman vocalizing] (Huh, Azura sounds different. Does she have a cold or something?)
Takumi: [following garden path] Azura! Is that you?
[Takumi approaches “Azura’s” general direction.]
Takumi: [not looking closely] That’s an interesting song, Azura. I’ve never heard you-
Rhea: [notices Takumi] Oh! Hello, young man.
Takumi: [somewhat embarrassed] Oh, sorry! I thought you were someone else!
Rhea: [smiles gently] Pay it no mind, child. I do not believe we have met before.
Takumi: Of course! Were are my manners? My name is Takumi, prince of the Kingdom of Hoshido.
Rhea: You may call me Rhea. In my own world, I am the Archbishop of the Church of Seiros.
Takumi: Hmm, that’s interesting. Back home, we have plenty of priests and monks, but no archbishops. I guess whoever is on the throne serves a lot of the same purposes, but no bishops.
Rhea: Your homeland sounds just fascinating to me. Would you mind if we discussed your country and its religious practices sometime?
Takumi: Not at all! In fact, I could probably talk about it all-
[Hinata and Oboro appear]
Hinata: Lord Takumi! Finally, we found you!
Oboro: Lady Azura was actually in the library. You know how quiet she can be.
Rhea: [smiles] These two are just delightful. I don’t believe we’ve been introduced.
Takumi: Oh, yeah! These are Hinata and Oboro. They’re probably the best retainers anyone could ask for.
Rhea: It is a joy to meet you both.
Oboro: [stammers and blushes slightly]
[Hinata simply stares in awe at Rhea, mouth slightly agape.]
Takumi: Staring like that is very rude, Hinata. You were raised better than that!
Rhea: Pay it no mind. It was a pleasure speaking with you all.
[Rhea leaves.]
Hinata: [watching Rhea as she walks away] Damn!
Oboro: (She’s almost as gorgeous as Lord Takumi!)
Takumi: [sighs] I don’t know what I’m going to do with you two.
[Takumi and Rhea have reached support rank C.]
B SUPPORT
[On the archery range, the Summoner can be seen/heard fighting with an even more sour-than-usual Garon, waving Breidablik threateningly in the faces of Iago and Hans.]
Summoner: And didn’t I ban your goons from this place already?!
Garon: Hmph. You tolerate that one mad dog of a wyvern rider. I fail to see the difference. And you common rabble call us hypocrites!
Summoner: Yes, “tolerate!” But “tolerate” and “enjoy having around” have entirely different meanings! Do you have any idea how much effort it is keeping him away from Erika?! Or to keep Ephraim away from him in return?!
[One of the Fujin Yumi’s bolts misses the target completely, said target pockmarked with random marks- none of them at the center unusually.]
Takumi: [listlessly draws back the Fujin Yumi’s string, his focus seeming somehow impaired.]
Rhea: [approaches him from behind] Er…Prince Takumi…?
Takumi: [jolts to face her, looking noticeably fatigued.] What?! Oh! I’m sorry. It’s only you.
Rhea: [wearing a concerned expression] Are you alright? You look as though you slept poorly. Is something bothering you?
Takumi: [shortly] I did and no, nothing’s bothering me.
Rhea: If you’re certain.
Takumi: So what did you need, Archbishop?
Rhea: No need to be so formal. Rhea is fine. I simply wished to continue our conversation about your home and their faiths from the other day. If you’re not too busy, of course.
Takumi: Oh, of course! Well, where I come from, pretty much everyone has their own choice of god or exact practices, but nearly all of us worship the First Dragons in some capacity. The royal families of Hoshido and Nohr are even said to have been granted their blood as a symbol of their respective pacts.
Rhea: Interesting. Very interesting. (I knew it! I told Seteth it was not simply a hunch!)
Takumi: [glances sideways at Garon being yelled at by the Summoner] But about the Nohrians…they’re supposed to worship the same gods as everyone else on the continent, but…
Rhea: But what?
Takumi: I can’t put it into words that well…they’re just weird about it. I know, I know. Everyone says that about ways of doing things that aren’t their own, but those people just have a lot of weirdness surrounding the way they look at the world.
Rhea: Come now. I’m sure they cannot be that strange.
Takumi: Well, I could look past the Nohrian custom of giving three greetings or goodbyes, it’s not THAT strange. The fact that the Nohrian breeds of chickens are known to be paranoid and aggressive to the point of attacking people in flocks is a little interesting. Their strong taboo against wearing green to births, weddings, or funerals is pretty strange too. But it’s definitely weird for a country that’s about a third mountains and another third forests to have a strong aversion to, even contempt, for trees over a certain height.
Rhea: Is it…a specific type of tree, perhaps?
Takumi: No, just trees in general. If they can’t be avoided or cut down, I’m told a lot of old-timers will just reflexively spit whenever they pass one. Even one of their princes, one who called it an “infantile common superstition,” to me. He still avoids trees over a certain height on sheer instinct.
Rhea: Is green clothing considered a bad omen there as well?
Takumi: [shrugs] From the sound of it, yes. Someone else summoned from Nohr- a commoner- once mentioned in passing that his cousin showed up for his brother’s wedding in green and got beaten half to death for it. Talked about it like you’d talk about your friend losing his house in a flood- unfortunate, but unremarkable.
Rhea: Your neighbor seems to inspire some…passionate opinions. Just from your tone, I take it you’re no great lover of them.
Takumi: You could say that, I suppose. They did murder my father, after all. But what I think about them as a people…it’s not really much worse than the common opinions. That they’re loud, rude, arrogant, and obnoxious- generally speaking, of course. Honestly, you should ask my retainer, Oboro if you’re that curious about the topic. She has even less love for Nohr, but even then, she’ll still usually be polite when speaking to them.
Rhea: [shuts her eyes in contemplation briefly] I understand this may be something of a sensitive topic, but are you privy to the common Nohrian opinion of your people?
Takumi: [winces unconsciously] Oh, you know. The usual. That we’re filthy, depraved, sneaky, dishonorable, inscrutable, not really people, beasts in human skin, and so on. That we do horrible things to women and little girls as rites of passage, sacrifice live babies to the Dawn Dragon. All that good stuff.
Rhea: My goodness! Where in the worlds do they get these impressions?
Takumi: [sighs] I couldn’t tell you. From what I’ve learned, they mostly couldn’t either. You’d probably have to ask whatever demon gave them these ideas.
Rhea: Is that…what was bothering you?
Takumi: [visibly angry] No, it’s not. I told you. Nothing is bothering me.
Rhea: If you’re sure, child. If you ever need to confide-
Takumi: It’s nothing! NOTHING is bothering me, okay! So just drop it!
[Takumi storms off.]
Rhea: Oh dear. Perhaps I handled that poorly.
[Takumi and Rhea have reached support rank B.]
A SUPPORT
[In the same garden as earlier]
Takumi: Er, Rhea- Archbishop. I…I meant to apologize for that outburst the other day.
Rhea: [somewhat surprised] Oh! Prince Takumi! No, it is I who owes you the apology. I pried into a clearly sensitive topic and-
Takumi: No, the fault is mine. My conduct was unbecoming of a prince and a man in general, and there’s no excuse for that. I apologize for my behavior.
Rhea: Again, you need not ask my forgiveness.
Takumi: But you were completely right about one thing. Something WAS bothering me. And it continues to bother me.
Rhea: [nods sadly] I had suspected as much.
Takumi: Are you…sure you want to hear about this…? Pleasant is the very last thing this is.
Rhea: Yes, if it would help to put your mind at ease.
[Taking a deep breath, Takumi sits down next to Rhea, staring off blankly into the distance.]
Takumi: You had already figured out that I don’t sleep very well a lot of the time. Gods, it sounds so childish, but…I have very vivid nightmares. Violently vivid, in fact.
Rhea: [frowns slightly] No, I understand completely. I have…more than my share of sleepless nights, as well.
Takumi: Again, are you really sure you want to hear this stuff?
Rhea: If you’re inclined to share with me, I will listen.
Takumi: [exhales sharply] This is just one of them, but this recurring nightmare of mine…I can’t even describe it that well…but I could tell that it was in a town in Hoshido. The architecture told me that much. And strangely enough, I was this…ghost thing. I could feel the physical world- but I couldn’t really interact with it.
Rhea: That sounds…most unsettling.
Takumi: And I’m just getting started too! You know how I mentioned I could interact with the world? Oh, gods…there was so much blood. It must have been up to my shins! I keep wading through it to find the townspeople…it was probably the most terrifying thing I could imagine. So many bodies…they weren’t soldiers even, but civilians- old men, women, children! Most of them were missing ears, eyes, noses, hands, heads- half of them didn’t even have any skin left!
Rhea: [looking shocked and horrified] My goodness! That IS terrible! I scarcely have the words for it!
Takumi: [winces] It gets worse. Where did all that skin go? When I turned my head to face the “monument” the Nohrians had built in the town square, I was sick to my stomach. And Oboro…gods, the first time I had this nightmare, I couldn’t look her in the eye for a week! And Hinata…he was the worst of all! They weren’t just murdering him…they were TORTURING him! And you know what disturbed me most? It wasn’t even that I couldn’t even do a damn thing about it. It was that they were laughing as they did this!
Rhea: You poor thing…have you ever talked to anyone about these terrible nightmares?
Takumi: No, not really. And anyone I could, I…don’t think they could understand anyway.
Rhea: What do you mean?
Takumi: Well, my brother, for one. He’s so strong, that even in his nightmares, he’d hand those bastards their heads- literally! Same goes for my sister, too. And my other sister…no, I could do that to her. She’s sensitive enough that she’d probably start to have these nightmares just from me even starting to describe them! And her retainers would never forgive me either!
[Takumi starts to choke back tears, lying his head in Rhea’s lap.]
Rhea: [strokes his hair] You poor dear…you’ve suffered so terribly in silence.
Takumi: [sobs] Y-you must think I’m some kind of m-monster for having thoughts like this! I just want- all I ever wanted- was to protect Hoshido- protect my people!
[Takumi continues to sob as Rhea strokes his hair.]
Rhea: [sings] Iiiiiiiiin time’s flow…see the glow…of flames ever burning bright…on the swift…river’s drift…broken memories alight…
[Takumi sits back up, noticeably calmer.]
Takumi: That song…it’s so relaxing. That’s probably why I thought you were Azura!
Rhea: Yes, my mother would often sing it for me when I was young. It is quite calming to me, even to this day.
Takumi: My mother- well, my stepmother technically, but she was the only mother I ever knew- had a beautiful singing voice too.
Rhea: [smiles] She sounds just lovely. Inside and out.
Takumi: Yeah, she was. She was.
Rhea: And on the contrary, Takumi. I do not think of you as a monster or a demon in the slightest.
Takumi: Wait, why not?
Rhea: Because that fear and concern is born from a deep and sincere love of your people. I cannot- will not- blame you for that same love. I have encountered a great many powerful princes, nobles, merchants, and what have you, in my time. If even half of them had half of your concern for their own people, the world- all of our worlds- would be in far better condition.
Takumi: [finally smiles] Archbishop- Rhea…thank you. It’s…not exactly easy for me to open up to people, let alone about things like this. Again, thank you.
Rhea: Think nothing of it, child. If you ever require a sympathetic ear or a shoulder to cry on, you may seek me out.
Takumi: And even though I came apart a bit there, I still meant every word I said. I don’t care what people want to call me. A monster, a demon, a zealot, whatever. My purpose is now and will always be to protect my people- from whatever wants to harm them.
Rhea: [smiles] A very admirable purpose.
[Takumi gets up and walks away.]
Rhea: (If only more humans could be like that young man instead of him... that thief.)
[Takumi and Rhea have reached support rank A.]

Shigeo Eizan, Erina, Eizan Etsuya, Chigeo, Kimiko and Hayama for the character thing please?
Ohh, I didn’t think anyone would ask for my own characters but ;v; !!! Sure !
Shigeo
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life [Shigeo is a character I’m really proud of haha ; 7 ; But I’m glad he’s actually well-received. I can only repeat, that I did not expect that]
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang [Honestly, I feel a bit weird over commenting on the looks of my OCs ahdhd but, I gotta admit Shigeo is much of my type...but I mean, apparently I’m not alone on that? dshdfjFGJ So many have complimented Shigeo’s appearance now and I’m screaming. Y’all are making his ego grow.]
hogwarts house: gryffindor | S L Y T H E R I N, Shigeo’s a full-fledged snake...what do u think? | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
best quality: I said it once already, but I would actually say his loyalty is his best quality. Now, the number of people that Shigeo is loyal to is extremely slim but...well, it is a very strong loyalty. It’s just, again, it’s only few who earn that loyalty.
worst quality:  lol. I could name numerous things in that regard. But as I also said once already, I guess his most fatal flaw is that he swallows up his fears, his trauma and a lot of other things in himself and never works through it.
ship them with:  ShigeChi >; Chieko had multiple ship-options at a certain point, but Shigeo’s only ship options always Chieko and welp ahdh The moment I started fleshing Shigeo out more, their dynamic grew more and more onto me and she also sneaked her way into his character-arc so.
brotp them with: There’s Moe & Kiyoko, who are really close friends of his and I really love their relationships. But I also gotta bring up Suzume here. Suzume’s and Shigeo’s relationship makes me so happy, despite it not being exactly friendly ahdhd. It’s a lot of fun to think of their banter and interactions to me. Also well, Umino & Yamada deserve their mention as well, so here they go ahdh.
needs to stay away from: Ai Kabutoyama. Pls, don’t ship them.
misc. thoughts: If “Shokugeki no Kimiko” was animated and had it’s own soundtrack, Shigeo deserves to be having a jazzy theme for himself.
Erina
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
best quality: I really love how much of a Boss Bitch Erina really is, she steps into a place and she owns it and she knows it. But at the same time, her social awkwardness and also obvious care for Hisako, the PSD later on etc. also make her a cutie at the same time.
worst quality: This is really more on Tsukuda’s part, but I do not like how she’s written in BLUE Arc at all, and how she honestly keeps pushing Soma away while he goes out of his way for her multiple times...
ship them with:  Soma is my favorite choice for her
brotp them with: Hisako !!
needs to stay away from: HER DAD. AND ASAHI. AND HER MOM MAYBE- IDK, give her a better family.
misc. thoughts: Takumi said in his match against her that if she’d be on the Elite Council “She’d be the zero seat”. And honestly, I kinda found myself wishing for Tsukuda just having run with that instead. Just establish a new seat extra for Erina because she’s that good. It still sounds kinda dumb yes, but not as dumb as making her actual headmistress. With 16. What also bothers me about her being headmistress is that it’s a very busy job, I’d imagine....Let Erina be a normal teen, could you? She was already robbed off a childhood, geez.
Eizan
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life  [ Or more of: An Angry Opposum, I found in the trash and that I decided to adopt]
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot [without bangs] | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang [wiTH BANGS]
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin [...duh] | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
best quality: Eizan is SO entertaining to me, you all have no idea. He’s so god-damn funny at times and I’m just ahdhd I love him. Meep, he’s intelligent and tactical and I like that in characters? I wish, we could have seen more of him being smart instead of having him being blinded more and more by rage and vengeance ;v;
worst quality:  Lmao, do you want a list? His obsession for money? His unscrupulousness? His disregard of fucking...decency?? ahdh I could go on.
ship them with:  //takes out megaphone// nENE KINOKUNI, LADIES AND GENTS. In my eyes, he legit seems to hold some sort-off respect for her and I hold the headcanon that Eizan is actually crushing on her a little ver since middle school. Come on, I do think it’s plausible that he’d find himself attracted to a person like Nene: She’s smart, she’s no pushover, she murders people with just a glance, her hair is green. One of the meanings attributed to the color green is actually...finances, profit, banks, moNEY-
brotp them with: The few interactions Eizan had with Somei legit cracked me up so...hdhd yeah, Somei. But also...Momo, being real. And of course, Isshiki & Kuga. Can’t forget them.
needs to stay away from: PSD, lol. I’d say Azami, but honestly Eizan seems to handle Azami fine? Azami just shows up at his work and is like: “What u doing owo?” and Eizan replies with “Are you bored or something????” like ahdhd WOW
misc. thoughts: Honestly...Is it plausible to assume that Eizan and Nene actually had a Shokugeki?...A Shokugeki which he won? I mean, somehow he had to earn that seat above her’s......right? (Would have been nice, if Tsukuda could have explained the new Elite 10 Ranking or show what got them there but nOPE)
Chieko
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life [She’s the first fanchild I ever made. I love her so much]
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang [It would break my heart to say anything else...She has insecurities]
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
best quality: I do love Chieko for how feisty she can be. The girl will mouth off multiple times to one of the most dangerous people at her school and I think it’s neat.
worst quality: She does take longer to make her moves at times though, sometimes she’s just too careful and overthinking instead of stepping into battle.
ship them with: Shigeo Eizan. Both of them succeed mainly through intellect, booth in cooking and other areas of life. It’s kind off natural, that they’d get eventually interested in each other.
brotp them with: Yasu, Hideyoshi & Daisuke mainly, but the rest of PSD as well.
needs to stay away from: Shigeo, according to Yasu.  I don’t know as of right now honestly ahdh
misc. thoughts: Funfact, but her wearing a hairband once she’s a 2nd Year is kinda inspired by Disney’s Cinderella haha
Kimiko
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff
best quality: Kimiko is brave and also most definitely an actor!! And as someone, who’s neither of those, I always admire these qualities ahdh.
worst quality: Kimiko pretends that she can’t feel feelings like sadness for a good chunk of the story. She plasters a wide smile on her face, even if she’s really not okay and that’s not a good thing...I’m saying this from very strong personal experience.
ship them with: Hiroshi! It was a thing for me from the beginning on!
brotp them with: Mika and later on Kaori, mainly.
needs to stay away from: her brother, okay no ahdhd but well, the nasty part of her family she does not know too well to begin with I’d say
misc. thoughts: I’d LOVE to draw Kimiko more, you gotta believe me on that but her hair is super exhausting to draw ahdhd I love your twin tails Kimi, but they’re suffering.
Hayama
general opinion: fall in a hole and die | don’t like them | eh | they’re fine I guess | like them! | love them | actual love of my life
hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang
hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin(?) | ravenclaw | hufflepuff [I can also picture him win Ravenclaw]
best quality: I kind off love how he’s the straight man in every group of friends he’s in? Someone give the poor man a break ahdhd. But I also really love how determined and ambitious he is, it’s inspiring to see (Which is why I kind off hate, that his shown that he refused to go to BLUE, because he didn’t feel strong enough? Idk, I feel the Akira I met in the Autumn Election wouldn’t have passed out on such a chance)
worst quality: not.....Not a big fan of the Central!Hayama/Soma-Shokugeki being real. I did not really enjoy his performance during that ; 7 ; But that’s just how I personally feel ;v; I don’t really dislike the idea of him joining Central, I just think it could have been done better
ship them with: Hisako!
brotp them with: Alice and Ryo of course 😤!!
needs to stay away from: Azami, haha. (Also...Not into shipping him romantically with Jun. At all. It does kinda creep me out, ngl since I do see her as a sort-off mother-figure in his life...)
misc. thoughts: It’s kinda crime, how he basically triggered the bit of Character development Hisako had, yet they never truly interacted with each other again afterwards ever again?? Like...Why? Why would you do something like this?
HISAKO AND HAYAMA REMATCH, SOMEONE GIVE IT TO ME

Leokumi Week Day Six (Story Three) - Flowers
The characters in the novels Leo read always seemed to talk about that ‘one fateful morning,’ where they woke up one day and suddenly everything in their life was different.
Leo used to think that was bullshit.
Until, one fateful morning, he woke up with... a sore throat.
Groundbreaking.
Leo was frustrated, of course - surely he wasn’t getting a cold in the middle of a war, of all times? But he didn’t consider it to be anything major. After all, what harm could a sore throat do? It was nothing more than an inconvenience, one easily remedied with a warm drink and some honey. Or at least, it should have been. Unfortunately for Leo, after a week his throat hadn’t gotten any better - but it hadn’t gotten any worse either, which he guessed wasn’t a bad sign.
Soon, however, he began to notice the strangest thing - his throat would become worse any time he was around Takumi. At first he thought it was just a strange coincidence - how on earth could being around someone affect the severity of his cold? It was just nonsense. But every time he spent time in Takumi’s company - hell, every time he thought about Takumi, and he thought about him much more often than he was willing to admit - the pain in his throat would flare up, and sometimes even send him into a coughing fit.
Leo knew it was strange, but still didn’t pay it much mind - after all, the cold should pass soon, and then he wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. Besides, it wasn’t as if the pain was going to prevent him from spending time with Takumi. Getting to see him, relax with him, play shogi with him, read with him, train with him- Leo was compelled to spend every spare moment of his time with Takumi. Those moments Leo spent with Takumi were precious to him, the only times he felt as if he could truly relax and be himself. He would spend his life with Takumi, if he could.
... okay, Leo could admit to himself that maybe he had a little bit of a crush on Takumi. A big crush on Takumi. But it’s not as if he could do anything about it - he had known from a young age that as a prince of Nohr, marriage to anyone but a noblewoman would be unacceptable, and so had resigned himself to his future of raising children with a spouse chosen for him and not by him, whom he could not ever love in the way she would want him to. And even if he were free to choose his own partner, Leo was absolutely certain that Takumi didn’t like him in that way. So he forced himself to be content in the friendship that he and Takumi shared, for even though he was not completely content when he was being honest with himself, it wasn’t as if he was willing to jeopardise their relationship for his own selfish desires.
Everything really did change, however, about two weeks after Leo’s cold first appeared. He had been reading in the library, as usual, and had happened to glance out one of the windows he was sitting near. This particular window overlooked the training grounds, and he could see from where he was sitting that Takumi was out there, sparring with Hinata. A pang of longing flared up in Leo’s chest, as did the pain in his throat, until he was coughing, doubled over and hacking into his hand, eyes watering and chest stinging. He could feel something in his throat and he gagged on it, coughing and coughing to dislodge it until the sensation abruptly stopped. Chest heaving, Leo sat back to catch his breath and looked down at his hand, curious to see what it was he had coughed up, only to feel the air leave his lungs once more - in his hand sat a smattering of yellow petals.
“Daffodil petals?” Leo murmured, stunned. Perhaps this wasn’t a normal cold after all.
•••
Elise was absolutely no help. A cough she could treat, no problem. But coughing up flowers? When Leo had first gone to her for advice, Elise had almost kicked him out of the medical tent, thinking he was lying to her. Leo had eventually managed to convince her that he was telling the truth by having an unfortunately timed coughing fit in the middle of the tent. Elise had panicked, having never heard of a disease like this before, and had quickly sent him to Azura. Many of the soldiers in their army had contracted strange diseases native to Valla, and Azura’s ability to identify them and suggest treatments to the healers, as well as keep up the spirits of those affected by illness, had proved itself invaluable time and time again.
Unfortunately, Azura had nothing hopeful to say about Leo’s disease.
“It’s called Hanahaki,” Azura had told him gently, “and it’s extremely rare. It’s also extremely dangerous.”
“How do I cure it?” Leo had replied, face grim.
Azura had taken a deep breath then, and looked Leo straight in the eyes, her mouth pulled down at the corners. “You have to profess your love and have it returned.” She said. “Or you will die.”
•••
So, he had flowers growing in his lungs. How many times had he heard that expression used in books and poetry, writers waxing lyrical about vines constricting their vocal cords and greenery filling their airways? He thought of the book of poetry Camilla had lent him just the other day, and how she had rifled through the pages to show him one of her favourites;
You made flowers grow in my lungs/
And although they are beautiful/
I can’t breathe.
How ironic, that he would be killed by the very things he controlled. He had thought of using Brynhildr to manipulate the flowers and force them out of his body, but was held back by the possibility that doing so would tear his lungs and give him an even earlier death. It had been almost two weeks since he had spoken to Azura, since she had told him that the only cure - and his only chance at survival - was to have his love returned. But even though this was a matter of life and death, Leo still couldn’t bring himself to tell Takumi how he felt. He couldn’t bear to even imagine his inevitable rejection, or the disgust Takumi would hold in his eyes when he found out - disgust at him, at his feelings that he had tried so hard to keep covered but still kept forcing their way out of him in the form of kind words, small favours, and yellow petals. Leo was also firm in his decision to never tell Takumi of his Hanahaki - he knew Takumi would force himself into a relationship with Leo just to try and save his life, but Leo couldn’t accept a relationship like that; he had no desire to force Takumi into anything. Leo sighed and buried his head in his hands, groaning at how hopeless he felt. How helpless.
He can’t tell Takumi about his feelings, or his Hanahaki, but he knew that one way or another Takumi’s feelings would still determine his fate.
•••
Leo was, apparently, a terrible actor when it came to hiding physical illnesses. After almost a month of coughing up flower petals - and now whole, bloodstained daffodils, which Azura had confirmed (between pleading with him to “just talk to whoever you’re in love with!”) meant that the disease was getting close to its final stage - Takumi cornered Leo in a secluded area by the mess hall.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” Takumi said, hands on his hips. “Mind explaining why?”
Oh gods. It was true Leo had been avoiding Takumi more and more as his coughing fits had become much more violent and frequent. For all his talk of persevering through the pain, he had still inevitably wound up avoiding his friend - Leo just couldn’t bear to have Takumi know about his illness, or what it meant. He was absolutely not ready to have this conversation with Takumi, not right now.
“Ah, my apologies, Takumi. It was not my intention to avoid you - I’ve been feeling unwell lately, is all.” Leo could feel a scratching in his throat, vines constricting his lungs, but he had to hold them back. He couldn’t cough. Not now. Not when Takumi was right there. It’s okay, Leo thought, just act normal for now and hold out until he’s gone, it will be fine.
It wasn’t fine.
Leo’s hands flew to his mouth as a violent cough forced itself from his body, collapsing to his knees as they came again, and again, and again. He was vaguely aware of Takumi, now beside him, rubbing his hand along Leo’s back and asking if he was okay. Leo tried to draw in enough air to reply but instead coughed again, gagging at the feeling of flowers in his throat, choking him and tearing at his airways as they forced themselves up.
The coughing fit stoppedy as quickly as it had started, and Leo sat heaving, trying to get his breath back. Takumi was still beside him, and Leo’s mind was running a mile a minute in an effort to concoct a way to keep the flowers he had just coughed up hidden from Takumi.
“Leo,” Takumi gasped, eyes widening at the sight of blood slipping between his fingers. “Is that blood? Oh gods, we need to get you to a healer right away-“
“It’s okay,” Leo sighed, defeated. “Elise and Azura already know. There’s nothing they can do for me, going to them now would only cause them unnecessary worry.” He drew his hands from his mouth but kept his fists clenched, praying to whoever would listen that Takumi would be too preoccupied to notice the flowers.
Luckily for Leo, he was. “Unnecessary worry?” Takumi almost shouted, “you’re coughing up blood, Leo, it’s not unnecessary! You have to take care of yourself!” Takumi was working himself up, face flushed in anger and voice strained with disbelief that Leo would care so little about his wellbeing.
“I told you, I’ve already seen someone,” Leo replied, voice clipped. “There isn’t a cure for this.”
“Like hell there isn’t!” Takumi growled, eyes narrowed. “We’re going to a healer right now, I’ll find a cure myself if I have to.”
“I told you, forget it!” Leo said. “Why are you bothering to worry about me, anyway?” He snapped, turning away from Takumi.
“Why am I bothering-“ Takumi spluttered. “Of course I’m worried about you, you idiot! I love you!”
Leo’s whole body froze, and he was sure that if he wasn’t already sitting on the ground he would have fallen over. He turned back to face Takumi slowly, heart hammering in his chest, taking notice of the other boy’s red face and wide eyes.
For the first time in weeks, Leo felt like he could breathe easily.
“Uh,” Takumi was now so red Leo was a little concerned he might pass out. “I. I didn’t mean to just blurt that out, oh gods I’m so sorry, just- just forget I said that, please.” Takumi had one hand over his mouth, eyes firmly looking over Leo’s shoulder.
“I’m not going to forget you said that, Takumi,” Leo said, swallowing his fear (and quite possibly a flower petal or two) as hope bloomed in his chest. “I’m not going to forget, because I love you too.”
Takumi’s eyes snapped back to Leo’s face. “You do?”
“Yes,” Leo smiled. “That’s what I said.”
“I’m glad then,” Takumi smiled back at Leo, breathing out a sigh of relief. “Nothing could make me happier than hearing you say that. But, maybe we could talk about this later? Preferably after you’ve been to see a healer?”
“Actually,” Leo laughed, “I think you just cured me.”
•••
“A disease that caused flowers to grow in your lungs because you thought I didn’t love you? Okay, you’ve got to be pulling my leg here Leo.”
“I’m not! I’ve been coughing up daffodils for a month and this is how you treat me, your very own boyfriend. I’m insulted.” Leo had reluctantly decided, after about two days of Takumi pestering him about his health, to just come clean about the whole thing. Now that he and Takumi were officially courting (well, they were the only ones who actually knew about it. They had decided that whatever scandal their relationship would inevitably cause could wait until after the war), Leo reasoned that there was no need for him to keep it a secret. As embarrassing as it was, Takumi had a right to know.
“Okay, but why daffodils? They’re literally the most inappropriate flower for this disease.”
Leo raised one of his eyebrows. “How so? They do represent unrequited love, so I thought they were rather fitting.”
“They do?” Takumi shouted. “In Hoshido, they represent joy.” Takumi paused for a moment, considering. “Remind me to tell my siblings to never get you daffodils as a gift.”
Leo laughed, “that would truly be an unfortunate present.” He smiled across the table at Takumi. “So, do you believe me?”
Takumi nodded. “Yeah, I do. As unbelievable as it is, I don’t see what reason you would have to lie about it. And it does make sense, in a weird way. It explains you avoiding me, at least.” Takumi stretched and stood up, walking around to Leo’s side of the table and holding his arms out to him. “Now come over here and kiss me, I don’t want to think about you almost dying anymore.”
Leo laughed, and did just that.

Yandere takumi x reader where he discovers his love is in a secret relationship
Surprisingly, he doesn’t take it very well. I hope you enjoy the drabble, anon!
It was a special day.
It had been exactly one year since you’d first started dating your boyfriend Lucian- one year since he’d finally worked up the courage to confess his feelings, shyly, under the moonlight like something out of a romance story. You’d never been one to celebrate anniversaries before him, but- it seems special, with him.
The only hard part was that no one else could know. The two of you had decided early on that no one could know anything about your relationship- for one reason in particular. Takumi.
Takumi was one of the princes of Hoshido, one of the best archers in the entire army, and, to everyone else, a very esteemed and respectable royal. He was also entirely obsessed with you.
You weren’t sure exactly when or how it started- he hadn’t seemed to like you at all at first, actually, and then one day it was just the opposite. He’d confessed to you first, before you’d even met Lucian, in a grand, romantic gesture, over a candlelit dinner he’d prepared himself, with flowers and declarations of love.
It made you… uncomfortable. Of course you’d accepted the invitation to dinner- he was a prince, after all, and your comrade. But you hadn’t expected anything like this, and you didn’t know how to deal with it. You turned him down, as politely as you could under the circumstances.
That should have been the end of it- but it wasn’t. He kept spending time around you, and at first you were glad that you could stay friends, but it became clear pretty quickly that he hadn’t accepted your rejection, alternating between pretending that you were in a relationship- that you hadn’t rejected him at all- and trying to impress you, win you over to him with grand romantic gestures.
He reacted badly whenever you spent too much time with anyone, even just friends or family. Neither you nor Lucian wanted to figure out how he would react to you being in a relationship with someone else. And what else could you do? Tell someone? It would be your word against the word of a prince, and a respected soldier.
No, for now, you both decided it was best to keep things a secret.
It was night, now, and the moon was high in the sky- it looked an awful lot like the night Lucian had first confessed to you.
It was time to go.
You push open your window, and swing your legs over, dropping down outside. You don’t bother propping your window open as you leave- tonight, you’re not coming back.
What better night to run away together than tonight, the night of your anniversary? Everything you have is in a bag you carry at your side, and you left a note atop your pillow before you left- explaining everything, but excluding Takumi’s role. You don’t want anyone to worry about you.
You’re meeting Lucian at your normal meeting place, by the lake, and from there you’ll head north together. Somewhere new, where the two of you won’t have to hide, and where you can start a new life.
It’s going to be perfect.
It doesn’t take you long to get there- you know the path by now like the back of your hand now, tracing through tall trees and past a rocky outcropping, just before you break through the line of trees to the lakeside. Your spot is somewhat secluded despite its location on the lakeside, mostly shielded from view by dense underbrush with just a small area of clearing where the two of you have spent many late nights sitting up and talking, laughing, and just- being together.
He’s not there when you get there, so you set your bag on the ground and sit down. It’s not often you get there first, but it does happen- especially tonight, he might be taking extra time with getting everything prepared.
It’s a windy night, and the leaves on the trees and bushes around you rustle loudly, filling the night with noise. You don’t hear him approaching until you hear a branch snap, and you’re not alone anymore.
The sound came from behind you, and you stand, turning around with a smile on your face.
Your smile drops quickly. A pit of dread forms in your stomach in its place.
Lucian isn’t the one standing opposite you in your clearing, not tonight. The man standing there is exactly the last person you wanted to see- Takumi. His clothes are a bit mussed from the trek through the forest, and there’s dirt on his pants, but other than that he looks exactly as he always does. His bow is in his hands.
In the shadows of the clearing, his eyes look pitch black.
“Waiting for someone?” He asks. You swallow hard.
“Just out for a walk,” you answer, lamely. No one is convinced.
He nods at your bag, still on the ground beside you. “You’re pretty well packed, for ‘just a walk.’” He toys with the bow in his hands. “Besides, you shouldn’t be out here so late. It’s dangerous to walk alone at night.”
Your anxiety is building, and you realize there’s no point in playing dumb. “Where’s Lucian?”
“Funny you should ask, I just ran into him earlier tonight. Seems like he was planning on going somewhere too- he had a bag just like yours.”
“Takumi, what did you do?”
He shrugs, all too casual for you while you verge on a panic attack. Your chest feels tight, and it’s getting hard to breathe. This wasn’t supposed to happen. Your plan was supposed to be perfect. “We talked. He had some things to tell me, apparently,” he takes a step forward, and you take a step back in response. He steps forward again, and you try to take another step back only to find yourself pressed up against the trunk of a tree. Quickly, you try to spin to the side and run, to get out of there, but Takumi is faster- his arms are on either side of you against the trunk, caging you in. You can’t stop the whimper that escapes you as you take in your situation. You didn’t have your knife on you- god, why didn’t you have your knife on you?
You don’t look at him, keeping your eyes fixed on the ground. He doesn’t let you avoid his gaze for long, though, grabbing your chin roughly and forcing you to meet his eyes. His fingers are sticky against your skin, and deliriously you know it’s blood- Lucian’s blood.
“I didn’t think you were the kind of person to cheat on me, Y/N,” he mutters, and the barely contained fury is obvious in his voice.
“I did- I didn’t- we’re not…” We’re not in a relationship, you try to say, but your breath is coming short now and you can’t make the words come out. You’re shaking, and you’re certain you wouldn’t even be standing were it not for Takumi.
He shushes you in a way you think is meant to be soothing, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to your forehead. His free hand comes to stroke your side, like he’s soothing a scared animal.
“Shh, it’s okay,” he whispers in your ear. You shudder. “I’ve taken care of it. He won’t bother us anymore.”
“No…” you whimper, despair hitting you all at once like a wave, only to be ignored as he continues.
“I forgive you. You still have to be punished, Y/N, but I forgive you, it’s okay.” He draws back some, smirking at you. “It was good of you to leave that note,” he says. “And packing all your things up. Now we don’t have to worry about anyone coming looking for you.”
“You made this so easy for me.”

I was asking for the couples that you already mentioned :)
Hi everyone! This lovely anon is actually referring to the previous ask on how our beloved ships’ children behave in school. On that note, I’m going to pick High School to fit the universe.
And can I just say that your ask is the reason why I decided to construct that whole next gen shenanigans? xD so thank you so much for being my motivation! I hope you enjoy this!
I’d love more headcanon requests to help me develop them better, if anyone’s interested ^^
Yukihira Soma - Nakiri Erina
Yukihira Jin:
Since Jin was in preschool, Erina has taught him that punctuality is important, so if he’s spotted sitting in front of the class exactly 15 minutes before class, don’t be surprised.
Besides the God Tongue, Jin was also born with his mom’s intelligence. No matter how badly he got distracted in class (Especially when Kana is sitting next to him), his right ear is secretly doing all the listening.
Polar Star Dorm member. Hangs out with the people regularly since they’re roommates, but doesn’t bother with their online shop business.
LIVES for Shokugekis. Either it is his own (which he would kill in), or people’s. Naturally curious and will absorb any new knowledge like a sponge.
Bad boy charm got all the girls (and ahem, a certain boy) to the yard, but only craves attention from the girl he’s been cooking for, though he tries not to seem aggressive to get it.
Would spot her from afar and run right next to her before saying something like, “Oh, Hayama-san! Funny how we keep running into each other. Signing up for Moon Festival too?”
Hayama Akira - Arato Hisako
Hayama Kana
Never leave home without a bag of pet treats in her bag. Kana loves going to the school garden and spend some alone time with animals she may find.
Is a founder of the brand new Vegetarian RS. Besides promoting the benefits of vegetarian and vegan food, they also grow an array of rare plants and edible flowers on their greenhouse and do research of those.
Kana always tries to stay out everybody’s narrative and hates drama, but she feels like it always has a way to find her. Also is oblivious that two most attractive guys in school are into her and doesn’t believe Sora Aldini when she tells her that.
Jin’s bad boy charm doesn’t appeal to her, thus causing her to have a hard time trusting the guy. “Oh, hello, Yukihira-kun. It’s good to see you again, but you caught me at a bad time. I’ll talk to you again soon. Sounds good?”
Thought Julius hates her because even though she smiles at him from time to time, he refuses to meet her in the eye, let alone sitting next to her in class when it’s the only one that’s vacant.
Takumi Aldini - Tadokoro Megumi
Julius Aldini:
Jin’s brother from another mother, advisor, and sparring partner to see each other on top. Sometimes Julius considers Jin more of his sibling than Marco, his own twin brother.
Knows about Jin’s crush on Kana, which is also his’, but doesn’t let him know and let him do his thing. Jin even thinks he’s the gay twin since he never talks about the girl he likes.
When not cooking, Julius can be found at the library. Loves to read anything whether it’s fiction or nonfiction. Joined a Totsuki Book Club.
Girls go crazy that one day he pulled up his hair into a half man bun, he didn’t know what the fuss was all about since it was just Marco wanting to do his hair. Awkwardly agreed every time a girl wants a selfie.
Regularly plays tennis with Marco to stay in shape. Julius is the better tennis player and Marco is not having it.
Marco Aldini:
Since he was born as an overachiever, he really cares about his grades, his cooking skill, and Italian Cuisine RS he’s leading.
Still in the closet, but it’s pretty obvious to people with strong senses though.
Wears sunglasses outdoor. Wears sunglasses indoor. Wears sunglasses when he reads. Wears it in the shower. Takes it off when he cooks. If people stares, has that deal-with-it attitude.
“JuSt wAtCh YoUR BaCK yUkIhIrA!! I aM CoMiNg fOr YoU!!!” *fades into the distance*
Nakiri Alicia’s BFF. One of the people he can comfortably be himself with. They call each other ‘bitch’, goes shopping together, and gives fashion advice for each other (but still won’t confess his attraction to her hot cousin Jin).
Valeria Aldini:
The youngest member of Polar Star Dorm.
Her way of thinking is straightforward and simple. Good at public speaking. That’s why every single one of her friends wants her in a group project.
Have tried every local and international fast food places in town (yes, she spends her allowance on it). Valeria likes to analyze everything that’s right and wrong with the food which drives her to her goal: to make the best burger ever.
Once punched Yukihira Jin’s nose for trying to trick her into eating his ‘creation’. “If you think I’m eating that shit because I’m Jul’s sister, you are seriously messing with the wrong girl, pal.”
Claims that Julius is her favorite brother, but her attitude is mostly influenced by Marco’s mouth.
Nakiri Alice - Kurokiba Ryo
Nakiri Alicia:
Being the queen bee of Totsuki herself, Alicia has two loyal minions who follow her everywhere… except when she tells them not to.
Walks the hallway like she owns the school (well, her family technically does). The girl knows she’s hot. One hair flip (inspired by Aunty Erina) is all it takes to get her the attention.
Molecular gastronomy princess, social media queen, part-time model. A portion of it could be caused by Alice who had started to expose her to that world by creating a baby Instagram account @babyalicia, which she still uses to this day (the username is now @queenalicia).
“I’ll show you a good time.” Is her line before starting a Shokugeki while putting on her goggles.
May look like your typical self-centered brat, but actually cares a lot for her sister, Athena. Every time she goes shopping, she would buy Athena clothes or accessories that would suit her (plus, she knows her taste and size).
Kurokiba Athena:
Like Alicia, Alice also made her a baby Instagram account @babyathena, but as she grew up, she realized social media isn’t her thing, so she’s no longer using it (but did change the username to @kurokibathena17).
Compared to her big sister, there’s not much social life going on at school for her. If not hanging out with Ibusaki Abel or Alicia, she prefers sitting under the tree with her headphones on, blasting Iron Maiden out.
Sometimes catching herself stalking her self-appointed rival, Kana. Athena knows when she’s been experimenting, and she tries to be one step ahead of her with charcoal as her weapon.
In that iconic, 6-hour long Shokugeki between Athena and Kana, she won it after a hard fought battle on a ramen challenge with her wildcard that surprised everyone– seafood.
When she’s not cooking, she’s drawing, and quite well too. The rose bouquet neck tattoo Alicia has is her design.
Tsukasa Eishi - Kobayashi Rindou
Tsukasa Oda:
Being one of the Elite Ten members, Oda gets instant attention everywhere he goes without even trying, and he’s not sure if he’s into it.
Once modeled for Swatch alongside Alicia, and when their pictures were on Totsuki magazine that caused people to go frenzy that day, unlike Alicia who’s loving it, Oda chose not to attend school for 3 days.
Since he’s linked with Kuga and has considered him his mentor, he is an honorary member of Chinese Cuisine RS.
When Moon Festival comes, he always books one stall to showcase his pretty dim sum and his creative talent by doing a demonstration in front of everyone (Rindou’s suggestion as a part of his risk-taking challenge).

From the writing prompt meme, how about number 1? Is it okay if I say writers choice on the pairing? Romantic or platonic, either are great, but have fun with it. :)
oh wow I’ve never gotten a writer’s choice before
1. Holding their hands when they are shaking.
Sakura did not make a habit of leaving the castle alone.  The way people looked at her made her uneasy, and she swore that when she passed their whispers were about her.  It was a little better when Ryoma or Hinoka went with her: she could hide in their shadows and hold her breath, willing herself to be invisible whenever they passed someone on the street, and whether it was the ritual itself or simply how hard she focused on doing it, it seemed to work.  But with Takumi…it was worse.  Not because she couldn’t hide next to him, but because she didn’t need to: she felt their stares slide past her and latch onto him, heard them whispering his name in hushed voices all around her, and saw his shoulders tense and square out of the corner of her eye.
She wasn’t sure how he found the courage to go out as much as he did.  She stayed in the palace as often as she could, venturing out only when necessary or by request – and even then, she always tried to send Hana or Subaki in her place when she could, or asked one of her siblings to accompany her if she couldn’t.  She never, ever, ever went out by herself if she could help it.
…and yet, here she was, skittering alone through the city square as the sun slipped below the rooftops.  She’d been looking for Takumi all afternoon, and everyone she talked to – including both Oboro and Hinata – had insisted that he was out training…but she hadn’t been able to find him in any of the usual places: not at the sparring ground, not at the archery range, not even down by the lake.
He’d told her, once, about a place past the edge of the city that he sometimes went when he needed to think.  A place where their mother’s barrier still held strong, though even the guardsmen never went so far out for fear of Faceless attacks.
So she steeled her nerve, and she went, keeping to the shadows when she could and trying to avoid notice when she couldn’t.  It was a long way to the edge of the city, and further still to the woods…but even before she reached the trees, she could see Fujin Yumi’s soft light and hear the hum of its power over the buzz of cicadas.  With every step through the undergrowth, the glow brightened, until at last she came to the heart of the grove where her brother stood, bow in hand and string drawn taut, his gaze trained on the glowing arrow lodged in the tree on the opposite side of the clearing.  She didn’t see him fire – she only saw the swirl of light as the new arrow cut through the old to strike the same point.
“Takumi?” she called.  If he heard her, he gave no indication, nocking Fujin Yumi again and aiming toward the distant point of light.  “Big Brother?” she tried again, creeping along the edge of the glade toward where he stood.  Still, no response; he let the arrow fly instead, drawing it back again well before the bright mist could entirely fade.  Even when she reached his side, he paid her no mind at all, simply firing over and over again until she felt sure that the arrows would pierce the tree clean through if he didn’t stop…
“Unworthy.”
Her head came up as the next shot arced across the clearing.  Watching him draw back the next one, she held her breath, hearing only the hum of Fujin Yumi’s power, his quiet breath close beside her…
His lips moved, the word barely more than a whisper.  “Inadequate.” But the arrow flew along with it, carving a bright arc through the looming shadows.
“Takumi?”
His gaze flicked down toward her as he prepared to draw the next arrow.  “…what are you doing out here?”
“Looking for you,” she insisted.  “You missed the tea ceremony, I was worried something t-t-terrible might have happened to you!”
“…I forgot,” he mumbled, his grip going slack and the bowstring dissolving into so many firefly motes.  “I’m really sorry, Sakura, I didn’t mean…”
Even with Fujin Yumi quiet, it still glowed silver, soft as the moon that had yet to crest the trees – but rather than the steady light she was used to, it seemed to shiver as he put the bow away.  “Did something happen?” she asked, fumbling for his hand in the dark.
“Nothing,” he mumbled…but when she finally found his fingers, she felt them shaking, and tightened her grip as she searched for his other hand.  “I just forgot, I promise I’ll make it up to you–”
“Will you tell me what happened?” she pressed.
“…I don’t want to talk about it right now,” he whispered, and as she caught his other hand she felt it trembling, too.
She shook her head, squeezing his fingers gently.  “That’s alright.  But…but you know you can tell me anything, d-don’t you?”
Through the shadows, she swore she saw him smile.  “Yeah.  I know.  …hey, uh, you know we’re late for dinner, right?”
She squeaked, whirling toward the city lights just barely visible through the trees.  She’d gotten so caught up worrying about her brother that night had fallen without her noticing.  Shuffling through the brush toward the distant glow of lanterns, she flailed one hand out to search for obstacles…but the other kept a tight hold on Takumi’s hand.  As they emerged from the woods, she broke into a run, pulling him along with her – and heard his laughter join her own as they made their way toward home together.

Takumi faints from archery practice due to exhausting himself from overworking himself with training and waking up to his love Corrin in their bed chambers, which he sees she is very upset with him from doing something so reckless.
How about a sort of fluffy sort of angsty one shot for TakuKamu? Like Takumi is the one on strict bedrest with Corrin trying to keep him from hurting himself any further. But his inferiority complex gets the better of him and it just makes him feel worse so its up to Corrin not only to keep him resting but also to make him feel better?
I’m combining these two requests because they’re JUST BRILLIANT TOGETHER.
Reluctant Rest
Takumi/Corrin
Beads of sweat caked acrossTakumi’s brow as he drew his bow taught under the blinding sun. He released asharp hissed of air that whistled between his teeth. Ignoring the heat, theburn of the sun and his muscles, Takumi honed his impenetrable focus. He straightenedhis stance and let the arrow fly.
Thwack!
The arrow lodged just outside thecentre ring of the target. Takumi clicked his tongue, scowling at the myriad ofarrows dotted around the bullseye. His aim was off. It wasn’t good enough.
He wasn’t good enough.
Takumi swiped the sweat beadingon his forehead and huffed, stomping over to the target to retrieve his arrows, glaring under the harsh scrutiny of the sun. His muscles ached in protest.Swallowing the dry burning in his throat, Takumi yanked out each arrow andunceremoniously tossed them into his quiver. He marched right back and took uphis stance again. Arrow notched, bow taught, Takumi levelled his eyes at thetarget. He blinked. A haze washed over his vision. He narrowed his eyes, blinked again as the world dipped beneath his feet.
Everything went black.
Takumi’s head burned. His throatburned. His body burned. The scorching heat behind his eyes was unbearable ashe peeled them open, squinting and blinking back the tears that formed. A drycroak rasped from his throat as he tried to speak. His head swam, aching bodyobjecting as he tried to sit up in the bed he’d found himself lying in.
“Lord Takumi!” Hinata and Oboro’scry sounded too loud. Too close, as if their voices were ringing inside hisears, inside his head. Takumi groaned, squeezing his eyes tightly shut at theonslaught of sound. His head throbbed.
“Here, have some water,” Oborooffered, toning her voice down this time.
Takumi grunted, cupping hisforehead as he opened his eyes for a second time. It took a moment for hisvision to clear, for him to blink through the searing heat behind his eyes andmake out the cup of water Oboro was holding out to him. With Oboro and Hinata’shelp, he sat upright and hastily gulped down the water. It provided only afleeting relief from the dry ache in his throat and was gone as quickly as ithad soothed.
Clearing his throat through thepain, Takumi looked up from the bed to find that he was in his room. The lastthing he remembered was training in the archery.
“How’re you feeling?” Hinataasked. He and Oboro watched their Lord with sympathetic concern that tightenedTakumi’s gut into an unsettled knot.
“Fine,” Takumi huffed, running ahand through his fringe. At the sceptical looks on his retainers’ faces, hechanged his answer to, “better.”
“You had us worried,” Oboro said. She took the empty cup off him and gentle placed it on his bedside table. “Wedidn’t know what to think, seeing you collapsed in the archery like that.”
He’d collapsed.
The churning knot in Takumi’s guttightened. “I just fainted, that’s all. No big deal. I’m fine.” He made sure tospeak clearly despite the rawness in his throat, brushing off their concern.Throwing the light sheets off his legs, Takumi swung them over the side of hisbed and made to stand.
“Whoa, you can’t get up!” Hinataobjected, holding his hands out to stop Takumi standing up. “You need to rest!”
Takumi swatted away Hinata’shands. “I said I’m fine.”
“You didn’t look fine when wefound you.” The worry in Oboro’s tone made Takumi wince infinitesimally like atiny needle had stabbed into his heart. The guilt drove it in deep, deep anddeeper still.
Takumi stood despite Hinata andOboro’s defiance. “You don’t have to worry about me.” He pushed through their worrieddemur, brushed off their concerned protests. “I’ll be fine.”
He was fine. He had to be.
Takumi had taken but a singlestep towards the door when it swung open. He barely had a moment, a splitsecond, to grimace before Corrin rushed over in alarm.
“What are you doing out of bed?”Corrin chided, placing a cool hand over his brow as she looked him over in afretful glance.
Takumi swallowed the bite in histone and snatched Corrin’s hand away. “I’m fine.”
“No, you’re not.” Corrin levelleda calculating glare at him. “Someone who’s fine doesn’t faint in the middle oftraining, doesn’t have a fever and doesn’t cry out deliriously in their sleep!”
Takumi’s heart plummeted, drivingthe needle of guilt further, further, plunging it right into his core. “Well,I’m feeling better now,” he reiterated, trying not to snap at her. She was justconcerned. Just worried about him.
A torrent of nausea swirled inhis stomach. She was worried becauseof him.
Corrin placed her hands on herhips and planted herself in his path. “Well, I don’t believe you. You’re headstill feels hot. You’re not going anywhere until you’re better.”
“What!” Takumi scoffed. “I can’tjust sit in here and do nothing.”
“You won’t be doing nothing, you’ll be resting.” Corrin’s glaresoftened but remained firm and noncompliant. “That’s important too.”
Takumi huffed, ignoring the wayhis throat clamped tightly at her words. “Resting in here when I could be outthere training or helping or anything else!”
“What good is training if it’sonly going to make you worse? You’re sick enough as it is!”
“You’re not listening to me,”Takumi bit back. The throbbing in his head was pounding like a drum, like ahammer striking into his forehead to the racing beat of his heart. “I said I’mfine, so I’m fine!” He made to push past Corrin when he was shoved back by ahuge claw slamming into his chest. He stumbled, his legs colliding with the bedand sending him sprawling onto it on his back.
“I’ll listen to you when you stoplying to me!” Corrin’s voice broke. Takumi stared, in shock, as if he werewinded, as if the force she’d shoved him with had done anything but unbalancehim on his already unsteady feet, at the tears streaking down Corrin’s flushedcheeks.
A pensive silence descended overTakumi’s room. All that could be heard was the quiet sobbing from Corrin as shetried to calm herself, as she dabbed away her tears with her fingers. Oboro andHinata decided that this wasn’t the place for them and slowly, silently, edgedout of the room and shut the door.
Corrin drew a sharp, quaveringbreath, her eyes fixed on the ceiling. Her hands trembled into fists at hersides.
“Corrin–”
“Do you know...” Corrin cut himoff, beginning quietly, her voice like a whisper in the silence of his room.“Do you know how worried I was when I saw you…?”
Takumi’s heart stopped.
“You were just lying there.”Corrin swiped away a tear that trickled down her cheek. She inhaled deeply, still not looking at him. “You didn’t respond and we couldn’t wake you. Youwere burning up and then crying out in your sleep and– and I couldn’t doanything.”
Takumi had no words to say. Evenif he had, a heavy lump had wedged itself into his throat. His fingers knottedinto the bedsheets beneath him.
“It was just like that time backin Nohr. When you got sick with that fever – when you were dying. I couldn’t do anything then and I couldn’t do anything now.”Corrin’s eyes fluttered closed, anguish drawing her brow, her lips, tight. “I’dnever felt so hopeless in my life.”
“I… I’m not dying, Corrin,”Takumi reassured her gently, softly. “It’s just a fever.”
Corrin sighed. Her lips wobbledas she looked at him, a sob leaping from her throat before she could stifle it.“I know. I just… I just wish I had noticed sooner…”
Takumi’s throat tightened.“That’s not your fault. I… I didn’t want anyone to know.” He breathed a sigh, ashamed at telling her, ashamed of hiding it for so long.
“But I know that. I know you’re like this, that you hide things andbear them by yourself.” She shook her head and looked away, her voice droppinginto a quiet, soft tone. “I’m supposed to be a leader; I’m supposed to lookafter everyone but what good am I when I don’t even notice that the person Ilove is suffering in silence?”
“What good am I when I don’t tellthe person that I love when I’m suffering?”
Corrin raised her head and lookedat him. A shameful blush colour Takumi’s cheeks as he stared down at his lap,his words lingering in the air.
“Takumi…” Corrin’s heart ached. She stepped closer, drew herself over to him and sat beside him on the bed, taking one of his hands in hers. He squeezed her hand in return.
“I’m sorry,” Takumi apologisedsoftly. “I shouldn’t have hidden this from you.”
Corrin nodded slowly. His handwas warm. “Why did you?” There was no accusation in her question, only concern, only understanding.
She wanted to understand.
Takumi sighed. His throat burnedas he exhaled deeply. “I… I felt weak. Pathetic. I’d already been sick and aburden to you before and I didn’t want to admit that it was happening again. Ithought I could push through it. Guess I was wrong.”
“Everyone gets sick sometimes,Takumi. You can’t help it when it happens.”
“I know, I know,” Takumi huffed. “Ijust… didn’t want to worry you. I hate feeling like this. Like a burden, like Ican’t take care of myself.”
“You’re not a burden, Takumi.”Corrin squeezed his hand gently. She shifted closer and Takumi raised his eyesto meet hers. “You’ll never be a burden to me. Never.”
Takumi nodded, though it felthard to believe. As much as his heart wanted to accept it, wanted to believeher words, his gut still felt heavy and tight. Churning sickly. “Bit hard tobelieve when I’m going to be stuck in here ‘resting.’”
“You know I rely on more thanjust your skill as an archer, right?” Corrin said. “There are more ways thatyou can help out than training yourself.”
Takumi frowned. “What do youmean?”
“Well, for starters, you’ve got akeen eye and a sharp mind,” Corrin began, a small smile finding its way ontoher face as she spoke. “And you’re a decent cook as well. You’re intelligent andhave great instincts in battle. I was actually wondering if you wanted to studystrategy a bit more. I could always use a second opinion before we head offinto a fight.”
Corrin’s seemingly endless praiseand compliments sent a rush of heat up Takumi’s neck, to his cheeks, right tothe very tips of his ears. He could hardly believe she was talking about himlike that.
“You… you really want my helpwith that?”
Corrin’s smile brightened. “Ifyou don’t mind. I can bring you some books on strategy for you to read. Leorecommended me a ton but I’m finding them difficult to get through.”
“Oh, so you’re just passing thebuck onto me then,” Takumi said, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.
“What– no, of course not!” Corrinprotested until she saw the twinkle of mirth in Takumi’s eyes and pouted.
Takumi laughed, though it endedup causing him to cough. He cleared his throat and said, “I may as well readthrough them. Not like I’ll be doing much else in here.”
Corrin nodded happily. “I’llbring them to you when you’re fever’s gone down a bit. I don’t want to overworkyou when you’re supposed to be resting.” She reached over and placed her handon Takumi’s forehead, her lips curling in concern. “I don’t think you’re feversgone down at all. Your face still feels very warm.”
Takumi felt warm. Especially withCorrin so close, practically leaning over him on his bed.
“Here, let me try something. Don’tmove,” Corrin said, inching closer.
Takumi’s heart stopped, hisbreath catching in his throat as Corrin dipped her face towards his. A protestleapt into his throat, mouth dropping open as a flood of heat, a rush of warmthlike lightning, coursed through his veins. Her breath dusted across his lips. Takumisqueezed his eyes shut instinctively, his mind screaming at him to stop her, toprotest, to do anything but stop her from kissing him when he was sick but hecouldn’t move, couldn’t speak with his heart in his throat and he waited forthe inevitable press of her soft, soft lips against his.
Corrin’s forehead touched his,and for a moment Takumi waited and held his breath. His heart roared in hisears. Just as soon as their foreheads touched, Corrin shifted away.
“Nope, it still feels warm,” shesighed.
Takumi’s eyes fluttered open. Heblinked at her, unable to comprehend what in the world had just happened. “Wh-What?”
Corrin sighed. “Camilla told methat if you really want to check someone’s temperature than you should testwith your forehead, not your hand. She said that your hand can make theirforehead feel warm so you should compare it to your own.”
“That’s what you were doing?”
Corrin looked at him. “Yes. Whatdid you think I was doing?”
“I… well…” He pressed his lipstogether, a shameful flush of heat burning his cheeks. Corrin was looking athim so innocently, so expectantly, that he had no choice but to answer her. Helowered his voice to a whisper. “I thought you were going to kiss me.”
“Oh!” Corrin’s cheeks flushed adark crimson. She stole her eyes away and worried her lips together. “S-Sorry…I-I didn’t… I should’ve told you what I was doing.”
Gods. Seeing the adorable flushon Corrin’s cheeks made Takumi want to kiss her. He cleared his throat anddesperately tried to push that thought away. He definitely didn’t want to makeher sick. “No, no, it’s– it’s fine.” His voice cracked, rising to a strangepitch that he couldn’t hide. They both avoided the other’s eyes, both thinkingthe same thing. Both wanting something they couldn’t.
“I-I should get going,” Corrinsaid hurriedly. “I was meant to tell Sakura when you woke so she could get yousome fever medicine.” She got to her feet, finding that she was still holdingTakumi’s hand and dropped it quickly.
“R-Right.”
Corrin turned and made for thedoor, stopping suddenly in her tracks after taking a few steps. She paused. Herhands tightened by her sides. Takumi opened his mouth to ask what was wrongwhen Corrin moved and her lips were pressed firmly to his cheek. He didn’t havetime to process what was happening. How she’d whirled on her toes and closedthe gap between them in a second, how she’d leant over him swiftly and planteda kiss to his burning, crimson cheek, lingering long enough for Takumi to feelthe softness of her plump, rosy lips.
Corrin stepped back quickly, hercheeks as red as his. “That– That’s a down payment. For later. When you’refeeling better.”
Takumi blinked at her, his mouthfalling agape. He could still feel the press of her lips, his skin burning, sizzling, as if her kiss had branded him. As if she’d marked him as hers.
Corrin ducked her head and turnedto leave, only to have Takumi capture her hand. With a burning flush and hisheart soaring in his chest, Takumi took her hand and pressed a firm kiss to theback of her knuckles. His lips lingered. He looked right into her eyes as hekissed her hand, as he drew his lips back slowly enough that his breath dustedher fingers. Corrin’s gasp was music to his ears.
“That’s my down payment,” Takumisaid, finding his voice breathless and heavy. “For later.”
Corrin flushed as if she were theone with the fever. She nodded stiffly, a bashful smile curling her lips. “Okay.”
Takumi released her hand as ifelectrified by it, as if the sudden realisation of what he’d done had sent ajolt of magic through his body, right down his spine. With a final wave, Corrinleft the room quicker than she’d tried to before. Her legs wobbled beneath herand she braced a hand against the door as if winded. As if Takumi’s kiss, thesweet, daring touch of his lips on her fingers, had stolen the air from herlungs.
In the silence of the hallway,Corrin lifted her knuckles to her lips, her eyes squeezed shut as sheremembered the heat in Takumi’s eyes, the hazy longing that seared her to hervery core.
Alone in his room, Takumi cuppedhis face in his hands and groaned to himself. His face burned. His heartflustered away in his chest as his mind returned from its enchantment. She’denchanted him. She must have. Or it was the fever. He was still delirious. Hewasn’t thinking. There’s no way he would’ve done something like that if he were in his right mind.
Her voice, tinted with embarrassment, rang in his ears.
“That’s a down payment. For later.”
A kiss on the cheek as downpayment… for what?
Takumi’s heart raced. He felt asthough he were going to combust at the very thought.
His fever wasn’t going togo down at this rate.

“i still remember when we brought you home from this same hospital.”
“seems like it was so long ago. you were all just little babies that barely fit in our arms.”
three of the younger adults standing around the room shake their heads asynchronously.
"don't embarrass us like that, mom," ryuki says despite the sad smile spreading across his face.
"what's wrong with being a little nostalgic? we're all family here."
“speaking of which, where is your sister?”
“she said she was gonna be a little late since practice ran long. you know how it is for d1 athletes getting ready for the olympics,” ryo pipes up, pocketing his phone. “it’s a good thing we close shop on sundays.”
“and whose genius idea was that?”
“oh, shut up about taking credit already, umi,” hana teases, shutting the door behind her. “we get it, you have a degree in business management.”
“it only took him three major changes to finally make up his mind,” her twin quips without missing a beat.
“yea well, better late than never. ryo wouldn’t have been able to run both branches without me. he’s only good in the kitchen. not as good as my wife, of course, but good enough to keep customers coming, i suppose,” takumi places a sweet kiss on her lips and pulls away with a smile.
“that’s not what your boys said last time they stopped by for lunch, right, little dudes?” ryo leans down to offer his three identical nephews each a fist bump in turn.
“don’t try to steal my boys. my precious niece and nephew will get jealous.”
“it’s okay, uncle takumi. we’re used to it by now.”
“yea, at least dad can feed us properly.”
“hey! i can cook some stuff,” takumi huffs.
the two brothers who lay in their beds chuckled weakly as they listen to the familiar squabble, drawing the attention of the family around them. their gazes turned from amused to sad as their wives, children, and grandchildren took in their time-withered forms.
“anyway, i don’t know how you guys manage your busy jobs on top of your home lives. i just barely figured out how to balance work with my relationship. i mean, it does help that they’re on the team with me.”
“i mean, dad did it,” ryo points out, slinging his arms around his adopted children happily. “so did uncle tsumu.”
“exactly.” takumi’s boys swat at his hands mussing their hair, uncaring of their father’s soft smile. “but i can’t imagine how you do it as a single dad.”
“i had a lot of help before the divorce. she was just set on a different path from me, but she was still an amazing mother.”
“i’m sure you’d make a great mom, too, hana,” ryuki says. “huh, sweetie?” his wife nods in agreement, bouncing their young daughter in her arms. “though, being an exhibit curator for the museum lets me work from home most days. can’t really imagine the volleyball association could figure out a way for you to do the same.”
“yea, but i don’t think i’ll be ready for a family any time soon anyway.”
“you know,” atsumu takes you all by surprise when he croaks out his advice, waving away all of the concern when his frail body racks with coughs. “i didn’t think i was either. but when your mom told me she was pregnant, i was over the moon. nothing in the world made me happier than when you and your brother were born. look at you now. i couldn’t have asked for better kids.”
his words bring more tears to the eyes in the room than the retired setter knows, his wife taking his hand in hers and resting her forehead against it as her shoulders shake with sobs. not one to be outdone, his brother peels his eyes open to glance around the room before settling on his own sons and their kids.
“and i couldn’t have left the shop in better hands either. i’m glad you took your time to figure out what you wanted to do with your lives. you’ve made me so proud,” osamu reaches out to run his thumb under his wife’s eye, wiping away the tears that wouldn’t stop falling. “we did good, love.”
her hands come up to clasp his against her wet cheek, “we sure did. do you still remember what their first words were?”
osamu shuts his eyes again and hums, “it was one word with a joint effort. and it just had to be onigiri of all things.”
“samu would not shut up about it for weeks,” his older twin makes chuckles rise around the room.
“you weren’t much better when hana first said ‘dada,’ tsumu,” he scoffs.
“at least ryuki made my whole year when he made ‘mama’ his first word.”
“remember when dad taught us how to make onigiri for mother’s day?”
“at least one of us picked up the culinary skills that run in our family.”
“and between us two, one of us got the more athletic genes, too.”
“i’m happy with my simple life and job and family, thank you very much. besides, i distinctly remember being way better than you at volleyball when we were growing up.”
“that’s not what i remember! you sucked at serving, ryu! you’d always hit the net during youth club practice.”
“nuh uh!”
“you know, i think i remember the same thing, hana.”
“why are you all ganging up on me?”
between the bickering and the reminiscing, only their wives notice the content smiles spreading across the oldest twins’ faces, each of them grasping their hands tightly as tears stream ceaselessly down their weathered cheeks. and only they hear the words whispered their husbands’ parting breaths.
“i had the better life.”
