I think the movie strange magic shaped my moral code fundamentally. It was also my first experience of kelly clarkson and the goth aesthetic so positives all around.

i have so many fucking thoughts about the miraculous movie.
the motivations and characterization was just seriously rushed. they didn’t show me jack shit, they just needed characters to accomplish certain goals and told us they were doing it and that it made sense, but there was no heart or real motivation.
the songs were generic and had little to no personality, they sound like they were written to be relatable and easily streamable rather than to be character portrayals.
it really feels like they were afraid to really get into miraculous lore, everything was so watered down. it made no sense for them to have a lovesquare rather than ladynoir because adrien and marinette barely interacted.
many of you im sure filled in the gaps by things you know from the series, but that’s not how this movie should function. it’s clearly an au and needs to be standalone. if you hadn’t seen the show, would you really think an adrienette ending made more sense than ladynoir based on how it was set up? on that, were ANY ships set up particularly well? marinette goes from truly being annoyed but chat noir but less than 2 minutes ago was terrified and didn’t want to be ladybug at all but now is sassy to him? not only that but she really wasn’t all that competent and clearly disliked chat, why was he so obsessed with her competence and insistent on being with her? it wasn’t explained well and i felt like the writers just expected me to remember the origins episode instead of what i’d just watched here.
on that note… why does everyone want gabriel to be redeemed so badly? why do you feel it’s so appropriate for him to be redeemed here? not all villains need redeemed. this seems to be the major difference between zag and astruc; chloe and hawkmoth are both redeemed /watered down to be likable in this movie. astruc holds his ground and says some people can be redeemed but not everyone will. like real life. because some people are assholes.
don’t get me wrong, i don’t love lila or chloe’s exaggerated evilness. but 1) it’s a fucking superhero drama, without assholes we run out of secondary conflict inherent to the genre 2) hawkmoths exaggerated evilness is what gives him SPICE, taking it away from him here just leaves him so goddamn bland. oh the terrorist wants to be redeemed bc he was sad about his wife despite saying he had nothing to lose even in the movie with a fucking child? nah. no way. fuck that.
chat noir was fucking weird about his crush. 0/10 from me.
i did like marinettes clumsiness and her general disaster aura and how it has a real effect on whether people like her or want to be around her — the show grew out of this by s2, similar to the montage here, but it’s more prominent here. i like this clumsiness and social anxiety portrayal slightly more. but s1 will always have a bit of my heart for disasternette
very little got explained well; i felt like i was relying on the show for lore to fill in very basic gaps which isn’t good for a standalone movie. the lore in general wasn’t well explained.
the whole time i sort of just wished i was watching this in the show tbh. another what-if situation. i’d love for the alt versions to meet and exchange lives for a day to point out the differences.
no sentimonster adrien here. where is the lore. :(
other ppl said this better but adriens story and motivations are nonexistent or very different to the show to the point of unrecognizability. show adrien wanted friends, movie adrien shuts them out. it’s not necessarily the worst change but it does feel odd.
fart jokes. ://///
nino and alya were cute separately as friends to the lead characters, but the romance subplot between them felt super forced and rushed compared to their real chemistry in the show.
anyways.
the show >>>>>>>>>> the movie
it’s not even a question for me.
also you guys hate on astruc so much but zag seems to be the one watering down characters and making them generic and marketable. astruc has the heart of the series and keeps the characters feeling authentic. he lets them grow in truly unique ways and gives them real goddamn conflict unlike the garbage zag led projects lead to.

hey so, not starting shit, but why all the tma hate? i was an old casual fan, thought it was decent in terms of a different story and a podcast that wasnt essentially some movie without visuals- characters seemed interesting enough without being overly done. was it just the fandom that makes people hate it, like usual, or was it something else? is it because its british? not to put a spotlight on you but i think if i googled this i might not get a straight answer lmao- (also, not that my thinking it was a fun story means others should like it, but im getting at; i dont know whats wrong here. why is there such a violent hate for it suddenly?)
ok this is rambly bc my thoughts on the matter are disjointed, but. Tbh, i just thought it was mid! and. I dislike how overhyped and rabid the fans are. Its really just. Mid. Everything I liked about it has been done better by other podcasts but its still lauded as a peak of its form. I felt the story itself sort of suffocated it. It grew in scale and scope so so so much and so fast that it stopped being horror, and simply became a thriller, and then a suffering montage. Knowing the face of the horror, and the rules it plays by undermines horror, and thats exactly what the show became. I did not like it. but it never felt like an intentional genre change. Things continued as they were, but the small stakes were gone so it didn't hit as hard. And.... perhaps if they did change, they could have put more focus on the plotline of loss of humanity, which really really interested me, but. I don't remember liking how little they got into that either. It felt like a surface level exploration of becoming something Not Human.
But um. moving on. one of the biggest selling points people make for it, is how diverse it is, and. while it had rep, I really did not like it? Jonmartin felt forced for fan appeasement, and it felt obvious that the creators didn't understand the appeal of the ship and just wrote it generically sweet, which, don't blame them, i don't get the appeal either. and then theres the lesbian who's whole thing is that she loves police brutality so much that an entity grabbed her about it, and Melanie (who I wanna say is bisexual but I can't remember if thats fanon or not) who's basically a walking mexican/hispanic stereotype, and then theres the whole thing with the asian market ep that comes off as insanely racist, and. the fucking weird ass thing the fandom did where they took a white man's self insert and made him ambiguously brown to the degree that many people don't even know that he's a white man's self insert and will vehemently argue he's not white, and that he counts as representation?
I enjoy the first 2 seasons of TMA as a standalone thing, but hate the fans, and don't like what it shaped up to be, and that sort of compounds with the issues I have with it. but I don't know what issues other people have with it.

Hello again, another late update because I got distracted with some things. This ask is also super long, oops 😅
Anyway, I finished the second book when I said I would. Actually a day earlier, so Sunday (11th). It was good timing too because there was a three day movie marathon coming up and I didn't want to be thinking about plot twists of the book I'm reading 😂
I gotta say, I like this one a lot! I think I like it more than the first one and I don't mean that as an insult. There was just something about it that drew me in a little bit more. I think it's just one of those natural things where the more something continues, the better it gets. That's how it should go anyway lol.
I think one of my favourite parts was Watson teaching Charlotte how to 'fence' lol. I really liked seeing the two of them bond some more in general tbh. More Livia was nice too, I think she's a good sister. Oh and on the note of family, I loved when Charlotte stood up to her father. Certainly wasn't expecting her to have a gun with her. Way to go 👏👏👏
And as a more 'technical' thing, the narrator still did a good job. I decided to check and see if she narrates all the books, and apparently she does from what I can tell, so I won't have to worry about inconsistencies there.
So there's the really quick rundown of my thoughts for this one. I think what I'm gonna do now is read a physical book, then check out the audiobook for the 3rd Lady Sherlock.
As a completely random side note, what's your favourite Court Stevens book? The next time I go on a road trip, if they don't have any Lady Sherlock, I might go with one of Stevens' books. They're standalones, right?
I was also thinking of picking up Vicious, but I checked out the trigger warnings out of curiosity, and apparently suicide is a theme in it? That's a really personal trigger for me, so I gotta be careful with it. If it's not super graphic, I can usually find a way to handle it, but if it's graphic, it's a bit rougher and I need to be in a "good headspace" to read something like that. It might sound "weak" or whatever, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, you know?
-Book Anon
Hey Book Anon! It's good to hear from you! Thank you for the update; I'm so excited that you're still liking the series. That makes me really happy because I think it's such a good one. In fact, you and I discussing it makes me want to go through it again, but I have so many I want to get to that it's so hard to make myself choose. 😭😭😭
*sigh* The struggle of an avid reader. I need to be paid to read; that would be a dream job indeed!
Now then, my favorite Court Stevens book, now that's a difficult choice honestly. I haven't read her latest, so that's not in the running. I think it's probably a tie between We Were Kings and The June Boys. They're all wonderful, but I think those would have to be the top contenders for now.
If anyone ever told you that making sure you're in a good headspace for a certain media or avoiding something altogether for your own mental health and protection is weak is being ridiculous. It's the furthest thing from weakness. You've got every right to protect yourself that way, and I commend you for being careful about that kind of stuff.
Frankly, Book Anon, without giving too much away, the Vicious series deals with a lot of near death experiences because the two main characters decide to study them for reasons that would be too spoilery to share right now. And some of those are of a nature that is triggering to you.
For your own sake, I personally do not recommend the series if those things bother you. I am willing to divulge more information in as safe a language as I can if you want more information from me.

Alright that was Road House. That was way more enjoyable than I expected it'd be.
Gonna be straight with you guys I'm so fucking horny right now I can barely fucking think.
But I'm a movie critic before a faggot so let me tell you some things alright?
First let me admit I never watched the original, so I am looking at this movie as a standalone, as honestly all movies should be. I am however aware this is a remake so I'm gonna be NICE and overlook how this is a cliche fountain because for all I know those tropes because cliches THANKS to this movie. Yeah we giving the benefit of the doubt.
Realistically speaking this movie's story is as basic as it gets. It's hard to take seriously at first because everyone speaks so unnaturally like they haven't acted a day in their life before. As the movie goes on you kinda gets used to it but at first it's very jarring.
The romance was so awful. It was so stupid and so unnecessary. Idc if this is a remake there was no reason to make this so awkward and boring. Every time those two were left on screen alone I just picked up my phone I just didn't care man. I really didn't. The way girl was introduced didn't help either tbh.
I really think I'd have liked Dalton more if they had picked ANY fucking other actor. Jake was so fucking Bad for this role. He wasn't funny he wasn't cute (give him his beard at the very least god) he wasn't cool even god no he was a massive loser and cringelord. I couldn't stand him.
Connor on the other hand was amaizing. Christ alive was that guy the highlight of the fucking movie. The stupid quips were so bad and not a single joke of his landed imo (the octagon one was funny bc how nonsensical it was though) but it was a "whatever you say pretty" situation everything to come out of that man's mouth was a gift. I like how terminator-y he was too that was just cute tbh bro legit seemed to be having a great time.
Rest of the cast was good too I liked the villain wish he'd done more but he was well represented as this rich kid papa's boy (but also daddy issues LMAO) who couldn't fight to save his life (LITERALLY). The goons were ok too I guess again, wish we'd have seen more.
I'll mention I did like the diversity of the cast though I think the fat lady was named Laura I loved her. We don't see fat women just existing as characters instead of mere HAHA SHE'S FAT gags and she was cute and she was cool I liked her 👍
Anyway onto what really matters:
THE ACTION
MY GOD ALLLLLL I SAID ABOUT THE PLOT AND THW CHARACTERS FORGET IT except the Connor shit I stand by that THE ACTION IN THIS MOVIE WAS OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN IN MODERN TIMES
Some scenes were a bit weird like in the final fight there were some goofy shots but if I survived undisputed 3 fish eye lense I can survive this.
Mostly, though, the action was filmed so well. It was so dynamic and fun and CLEAR. The most important thing for an action movie esp one involving hand to hand combat is being able to tell wtf is going on and this movie shows you most of it and what it doesn't you don't care bc the rest you see is so engaging.
The hits were so good too the amount of times I was laughing and going OOOH! AAAH! at the hits was countless. They put their whole pussy on those and by god am I glad. The whole choreography too was great honestly the bar setting was fun. Actually that reminds me I need to watch that one Scott Adkins movie.
Is me mentioning him twice related to the fact I'm face blind so my brain sees muscular brunette white man with a beard and goes straight to him? Maybe.
Anyway SCORE WAS ALSO GREAT really loved all the songs and how they worked for the setting. Same with the General shots outside of fights, and the color and shit... It was just a really pretty and well done movie!!
So 👏 to wrap this up since I've been rambling for forever: was this movie good? Nooo by no means is it "good". It is fun as all fucks! But it's goofy and awkward and it has unforgivable mistakes. So, should you watch this movie? YESSSSS!!!!! PLEEEEASE ITS SO GOOFY AND AWKWARD AND FUN AS ALL FUCKS DESPITE IT'S UNFORGIVABLE MISTAKES.
All in all it was a very fun time which could've been better. We need to get more camp like we used to be but this is a step in the right direction.
And we need more of that man's fat fucking cheeks holy fuck man what the fuck i'm
Watching Road House. What's his problem.

Velvet does the body good, you think as you look in the full-length mirror. The hemline comes mid-thigh and you’ve swapped your boots for heels for the night. You begrudgingly admit that heels do accentuate your legs, despite the fact that they’re going to hurt your feet eventually. Perhaps if you complain enough, your dotting boyfriend will give you a foot massage.
You toss the idea out the window. The weekend is about him – you’ve scraped out a tiny amount of time to fly back home to support him – and you want to make sure that your focus is on him entirely. Yoongi always has a way of making it about you and though you love that about him, you feel like you never quite do for him what he does for you.
It's a good thing he has a full mirror. In fact, there are so many things about Yoongi’s apartment that you appreciate. For starters, he has more than a single pillow and his sheets are a soft, slate grey – not navy. He also has décor - not movie posters or boxes of beer flattened to look like wall ornamentation. There are plants in his minimalist apartment, muted greens among the greys, whites and blacks. Yoongi even has multiple towels for his face, body and for drying hands.
Yoongi has his shit together – almost always has – but you like that about him.
“Holy fuck, hurry up!” You heard Seokjin yell from the kitchen.
You sigh. Grabbing the small clutch on a gold chain, you rush out of Yoongi’s room. Every room in his two-bedroom apartment smells different. The bedroom warm with sandalwood and mint, the living room like vanilla and a little bit of spice, the kitchen clean citrus.
Seokjin leans against the marble, island countertop. He's looking down at his cellphone, scrolling away. He's dressed in black slacks, a white shirt, and an unbuttoned suit jacket. His hair is styed back, opening up his handsome face. Seokjin looks good like this. Mature.
Yoongi's apartment is dark and warm. You love the muted tones, the way he balances how it looks lived in while being clean. Your eyes dart to the boots near the couch, laces pulled like he was in a hurry. You move without thinking about it, picking them up by the ankles and walking to the door, heels clicking. Seokjin finally looks up at you as you place Yoongi’s shoes carefully on the rack by the door.
“You’re wearing that?” Seokjin demands, making you look at him with wide eyes. “That dress is way too short!”
“Please don’t start,” you sigh, holding a hand up. “Your brotherly instincts are not needed.”
The velvet, black dress hugs you generously. The straps are thin but secure, and your hair is in a whispy bun, a few curled pieces loose. There is a mysterious splotch on your neck covered with concealer and a light layer of powder, but it’s not super obvious.
Seokjin scoffs and jingles his keys. He arrived fifteen minutes prior to pick you up and drive you to the hotel, where Yoongi is already at for his media time. The release party is a few minutes away and you’re runny a tad behind.
Down the elevator and across a luxurious lobby, Seokjin rushes you onward as you slid into the sleek interior of his car. It smells just like it always does – leather cleaner, a hint of cologne, and the god-awful scent in the shape of Christmas tree that hang from the mirror.
You snap the scent hanger off, earning a yell from him. “Please,” you beg. “You are a grown man. Get rid of the black ice scent.”
You toss it to the back as Seokjin launches into a lecture about how you should behave in his car. You tune him out for the most part, content to be in a city familiar to you with Seokjin giving you a tough time. It wouldn’t be home without bickering with your brother.
It wouldn’t be home without the lingering presence of Yoongi.
But it’s the first time that you’re home since you’ve started dating. The massive home that holds all those pre-relationship memories sits empty. Your parents are out of town – somewhere like the Maldives, you think. Yoongi’s parents are also vacationing, though it’s off the coast of China somewhere.
You chew your lip. You try not to be annoyed that your parents booked a trip even after you said you were visiting. Your visits home were few and far between – this particular trip was specifically driven by your desire to support Yoongi’s album release.
The label had wanted to give him blowout event somewhere glitzy and filled with socialites and media. Yoongi, ever the fan of lowkey functions, nixed that idea. He wanted his celebration to be at home, with his closest friends, the people from the label who mattered, media outlets who gave him the time of day when he was getting his start, and a few partners and important people in the industry.
Still, the hotel is beautiful. The valet bows his head lightly when he takes the car, and the label floors are so polished they show your reflection. You smile when you see the sign that mentions the Sky Terrace is closed for a private event.
Chewing your lip and fishing your phone out, you snap a picture of it. It feels cheesy, but you don’t care. You grin one last time at the sign.
Sky Terraced Closed for Private Event
Agust D Release Party on floor seventeen
Seokjin rolls his eyes, calling you over. You rush again, holding your purse against your hip as it bounces wildly.
An elevator attendant requests an invitation. You flash yours and he hits the seventeenth floor on the elevator. You have it to yourself, the jazz music playing as Seokjin adjusts his suit jacket in the mirrored wall.
“You look fine,” you chastise.
“I have a hot FaceTime date after this. I’m nervous.”
“Suri is already your girlfriend.”
“Still nervous.”
You smirk at the red tips of his ears as he clears his throat and stands still. “Cute.”
Music thumps as you reach the top floor. Before the doors an open, you can hear the voices and the music.
The elevator doors peel away to a view of the rooftop bar area. There are string lights zig-zagging across the space, casting a warm glow on the deck. A stone bar lit with soft lighting along the wall takes up the right side of the rooftop. Lounge chairs and high-tops are placed strategically on the deck. A DJ is in the corner with a large posterboard of Yoongi’s album cover.
People mill about the space, conversation humming above the music. Servers walk around with finger foods and flutes of champagne. You nick a glass of champagne for you and your brother, siping on the sweet bubbles as you scan the crowd.
Finding Yoongi is an instinctual talent. You could find him in any space, like a magnetic pull humming here here here any time you share a room with him. He’s over by the bar, elbow leaning on the top of a high-back chair as he nods, listening to what the man in front of him is saying.
Yoongi looks breathtaking. You do where rose-colored glasses any time you look at him, but you know that even without the bias and attraction that comes from being in a relationship with him, that he is absolutely stunning.
Dressed in a black button up that’s tucked into black slacks, he foregoes the suit jacket. His shoulders look particularly broad, buttons straining as he laughs at something. His dark hair has grown long, curling at the back of his neck, sands silky soft. You’d spent most of the evening after your plane flight running your hands through his hair, tugging them to pull moans from him most of the night.
You never wanted him to cut his hair again.
Earrings caught the string lighting as you walked toward him. You were envious of how narrow his waist looked, wrapped neatly in the designer belt and black slacks. How he could look so impossibly model-like was beyond you. Because it was Yoongi – the guy who was usually in ripped jeans, a t-shirt and a hat pulled so low on his head you could barely see the cat-eyes.
Said cat-eyes look up at you over the shoulder of the man he is talking to. You will never get used to the way Yoongi’s eyes glitter when they notice you in a room. It's an obvious shift, his eyes narrowing slightly every time he sets his sights on you. You can see the way the rest of the room melts away – eyes only for you.
Yoongi excuses himself gently with a firm hand on the shoulder, a gummy smile and a bow of his head. Sandalwood envelops you as his grin spreads further, your heart beating faster as his hands find home on your waist, pulling you in immediately.
“Hi,” he breaths, sweet breath fanning your face. You’re tucked against hist chest, his heartbeat matching yours, fingers firm on your hips. His eyes flicker all over your face, dark gaze endless. “You look beautiful.”
“You’re one to talk. You look incredible.”
“Well I think I look great,” Seokjin huffs from behind you.
You grimace but Yoongi takes your brother’s interruption in slide. He always does. Yoongi finds it so easy to accept Seokjin’s jesting, complaints and interruptions to your relationship. Because Yoongi knows that there could have been an alternative where Seokjin never forgave him for sleeping with his baby siter. Where Seokjin would never let you exist like this, without guilt and in Yoongi’s arms.
The thought makes you surge forward, catching Yoongi’s lips for a quick, soft kiss. Your eyes flutter open to reveal a gummy smile and unfiltered affection. You burn under that gaze, stomach flipping as you pull away from him. Yoongi doesn’t let you get far, hand wrapped around your waist.
“Seokjin, you are always the epitome of beauty in any room,” Yoongi assures your brother, though his eyes are downcast at you. He squeezes your waist and you hide your smile by sipping the champagne. “Come on, I want to introduce you both to some people.”
Names are not your forte. You try to remember them anyway, relating names and relations and jobs to faces. It's an hour in and you hate that you’ve forgotten so many already. There are familiar faces to you, of course. Taehyung and Jimin show up late, but they blow kisses at you while Yoongi introduces you to one of the senior producers at his label.
Warmth spreads from your fingers to your toes at how everyone treats Yoongi. They boy their heads, their words are respectful. They tell you how he’s helped them, how he always volunteers to assist on projects that have nothing to do with him or won’t bring him notoriety. How he has a fascinating mind for music, how he can turn an unfinished melody into something greater.
These people love him. They respect him. And the blush as he ducks his head and shrugs off another compliment as he laughs only spurs you further, smile growing. You're so stupidly proud of him, especially when they start giving toasts and listing his accomplishments.
Yoongi hates being the center of attention, but you see the way his eyes glimmer. He's proud of himself too. He accepts them with grace, a smile and polite words. He knows that the praise isn’t coming from nowhere. He is humble, but he isn’t stupid.
A glass of champagne appears in front of you as Yoongi materializes from between a group. You're leaning on the balcony overseeing the city, Taehyung and Jimin at your side as they argue over something with Hoseok. Namjoon and Lydia have stopped by for a moment before rushing off to her mother’s birthday dinner, but you’re happy they stopped by at all.
You accept the glass of champagne just as your phone begins to ring. You fish it out, grinning when you see the name on the phone. You swipe, opening up the FaceTime and turn it to Yoongi who glances in confusion until Jungkook appears on the screen, grinning.
“Congrats, bro!” Jungkook hollers. There are wireless headphones around his neck RBG lights circling around and around. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be there. I signed this stupid contract before I knew the date for your party.”
“I hope you’re not live,” Yoongi notes with an eyebrow raise. Jungkook makes a face and double checks before confirming he’s not. “That’s okay, Jungkookie. You know I love seeing you make your own money.”
Jungkook is shy at that. Tonight, he’s debuting a new sponsor that he partnered with, and you have blessedly been able to give him the apartment to himself while he streams the new game. Even though he no longer streams exclusively content for your studio, you’re so stupidly happy for Jungkook’s success as a streamer.
And so is Yoongi, if his smile is anything to tell.
Congratulations and well wishes shoot back and forth. You rest your head on Yoongi’s chest, sipping the champagne as he holds your phone so you can both see Jungkook. When the phone call ends, you’re still like that, back pressed against his chest and your head tucked into his neck.
You’ve drifted away from your friends, and Yoongi’s coworkers and colleagues leave the two of you alone in your little corner of the event space.
“They did an amazing job decorating,” you hum, watching as people pose at the photobooth. The photos from the professional photographer are promised to be delivered to you soon. Snapshots of you smiling with his arm around your waist, him crushing his lips to your cheek as you screeched. A cheesy one of him dipping you. “It’s beautiful.”
He hums. “Hardly the most beautiful thing here tonight.” Yoongi’s fingers trace the hem of your dress on your thigh, making you shiver. You make a small sound, fueled by the glasses of champagne and being close to him. He smirks. “I like your dress.”
“Seokjin hates it.”
“Because Seokjin knows how much my mouth waters seeing you in it.”
“Yeah?”
“Mhmmm.” He noses your forehead. “Wanna head out?”
“You can’t leave! It's your party.”
“Exactly, which means I can do whatever I want. I’ve done all the press, kissed all the babies and knighted all the loyal men. I’m allowed to leave.”
“You sure you don’t have any more babies to kiss?”
“Just one,” he mutters against the skin of your temple, mouth damp from the champagne. “But she’s arguing with me.”
You purse your lips as he laughs, sound deep. Your toes curl. “Okay, let’s leave.”
The goodbye rounds are quick. Yoongi thanks everyone for coming out – doesn't miss a single person. He thanks the staff, heading to the bar and leaving a massive tip. Personally thanking the photographer, the DJ, the event host, the people in the lobby.
There's not a single person he misses, clapping the shoulder of a server and making sure he kept Yoongi’s card to send his work to. You stare at him as he leads you to valet, who is already swinging the door to his car open.
“What?” he asks as he helps you in, callused hands gentle in your own.
You don’t answer until he rounds the car and gets in the other side. “You’re just...” You trail off and gesture to him. “You’re so good at this.”
“Yeah,” he notes. He pulls out of the drive and onto the road. He switches driving hands, left hand on the top of the wheel as he navigates the city confidently while the right finds home on your thigh. Immediately your skin sparks at the contact. “But it’s exhausting.”
“I know.”
Your eyes are on him, searching. He notices, glancing at you from the corner of his vision. His hand squeezes your thigh playfully ask he repeats himself. “What?”
“I’m really happy for you.”
The words are too simple for how you feel. They don't’ really convey what you mean. You struggle to form the right sentences, to explain what you really mean. “Not just because your success – that is obviously – I am beyond proud about that. You're incredibly talented and I’m so happy that it’s paying off. You're being rewarded for hard work.”
“You’re being weird.”
“Sorry,” you laugh, breathless. “What I’m getting at is that I’m also proud at the way you handle everyone. You're so incredibly kind and you listen to what people are saying to you. You accept the compliments with grace and you make an effort to make sure that people feel important to your success. I just... I'm proud of you.”
“I couldn’t do it without you.” You roll your eyes but he laughs and says, “I’m serious. You have no idea how much easier it is to be that person – one that can talk and smile and shake hands – when you’re at my side. It's comforting and you help me not get nervous.”
“So do I get a paycheck from you now or later?”
His laughter is throaty, voice deep when he says, “How do you accept payment?”
A shiver dances its way up your spine. You squirm in the seat and his grip on your thigh increases momentarily before his thumb starts brushing in lazy circles. Oh you hate when he does that. He knows how much it sends tingling up your leg to your core, and how hard it is for you to think straight when he traces patterns on your skin.
“A variety of ways,” you manage. He heads downtown toward his apartment. Only a moment away as the tension in the car mounts. “For example, I enjoy donuts.”
“You do enjoy those.”
“And I also really enjoy your cooking.”
“Yes, that is true.”
His hand moves up your thigh, closer to your center and for a moment, your head blanks out. Your eyes are half-lidded as his fingers tease underneath your dress, only to trace back down to your knee and squeeze. “You were saying?”
“Huh?”
He grins like the Cheshire Cat. “You were listing forms of payment.”
“Oh - um – I really enjoy boba tea as well.”
“Do you accept payment in orgasms?” The apartment appears as he heads for the parking garage. Again, his hand brushes backup smooth, warm skin to the top of your thigh, his pointer finger tracing the soft flesh of your inner thigh. “So?”
“Uh - yes. Yes I do.”
Yoongi is parked and opening your door before you can form another sentence or realize that the car is not moving. Your brain is firing in all sorts of directions, trying to snap together anything beyond screaming excitement and arousal.
He holds his hand out to you. “I can pay you inside,” Yoongi says with mock seriousness. “I don’t enjoy outstanding bills.”
“Is that so?”
“It is.” He pushes you against the closed door of the car, molding his mouth to yours. The kiss catches you by surprise, his mouth warm and sweet from champagne. Kissing Yoongi is everything – and one of his favorite things – and you’re breathless when he pulls away. “Sweet girl,” he murmurs, fingers brushed one of your loose strands back into place. You look up at him and he grins. “Come on.”
Yoongi's hands are warm. You look down at where your fingers are linked as he leads you through the lobby to the elevator. Hands that created so many memories on the piano for you. That handed you CDs. That touched you and made you feel loved. Hands that made so much success, all celebrated tonight.
You chew your bottom lip as you look up at him in the elevator. His gaze his heated as he looks at you, back pressed against the elevator as it goes up, hands linked between you. His eyes are hunger as they look you up and down, his hair still perfect, save for a few locks that now hang over his eyebrow.
“Hmm?” he tilts his head in a question, lips quirked in a smirk.
“You’re just so talented,” you murmur. “It blows me away sometimes.”
He smirks, raising an eyebrow. Confident, cocky Yoongi takes over. He tugs you sharply, pulling you into his chest harshly. You gasp as his hands drop yours to wrap around you, palming your ass generously over the velvet of your dress, squeezing. You hum a sound that sounds suspiciously like a moan.
“I have other ways to blow your mind.” His voice is deep, soft. You curl your fingers in the collar of his shirt, wrinkling it slightly. You look up at him through your lashes and he groans. “Don’t look at me like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like you have stars in your eyes.”
“There are,” you whisper. “I’m looking at you.”
The elevator dings and you walk backward, pulling him along. You smile as he follows you, hypnotized by your eyes and your smile. Yoongi barely seems to register that you’re at his apartment door until you kiss his chin and tap the door. He fumbles and turns red.
You love Yoongi like this. Distracted by you. Enchanted. It makes you giddy, still thrilled every time. The fact that you can make Min Yoongi look like this. The fact that you made him blush. And that he does nothing to hide it. He tells you that you make him nervous, that you’re the one person he has to impress.
The apartment is dark as you enter the door near the kitchen – you smell the citrus but you smell Yoongi’s sandalwood more. You push into him when he closes the door, hands around his waist, hands looking up at him with his chin pressed against his chest.
“Hi,” you breathe.
Yoongi doesn’t answer. He presses his lips to yours in a hungry kiss, content to leave his hands resting on the curves of your hips. The kiss is slow and languid, taking his time with your mouth. He licks into your mouth and you open up to him – you always open up to him. Always will open up to him.
Minutes, hours, days, months or years could pass as you kiss him. Warmth like melted honey seeps through you. Your bones turn pliant and you lean into him, pressing against his chest. Closer. Closer. Closer. If you could bind yourself to him forever, you would.
Forever.
The word is terrifying in your mind, distracting you. You've only been an item for a few months, but already the idea of more, of permanence, of the future is something that lingers on the edge of desire. You don’t voice that desire, don’t ask for more than you already have. Because how can you? The idea of ruining what you have now keeping it at bay.
Yoongi senses your distraction because of course he does. He pulls away, nipping at your bottom lip as he does until it pops out of from his bite and into place. His eyes are heavy-lidded, and pupils blown out.
“Hmm?” he asks, not needing to voice the words. You know what he wants but you press toward him again to kiss him instead. He laughs as you do, tugging you away a little. “Sweet girl,” he warns. “Wanna talk now or later? I feel those little wheels turning.”
“Later.” He squeezes your hips, raising his brows. If you tell him later you have to mean it. You know it’s a promise. Yoongi never forgets – always makes it a point to make sure you talk. “I promise. It’s nothing serious, nothing important.”
“Everything about you is important.”
“What’s important is I want you.”
“Okay.” He kisses you once. Twice. “Okay.”
Settled, Yoongi leads you in a dance of careful feet and smacking lips. He laughs when you stumble and his teeth bump against yours. Your fingers slide in his long hair, silky smooth between hungry fingers. You tug at the ends, scratching close to his scalp. He moans into your mouth.
Legs hit the bed and you go backward, Yoongi’s hands guiding you gently. Always soft, always careful as he hovers over you, teeth going to your neck. You tilt your head to the side, letting him suck marks onto your neck, fingers tangled at the nape of his neck.
“You covered your hicky,” he chuckles, tongue lapping back and forth over the covered, bruised flesh. “I guess I’ll just leave more.”
“I didn’t want people to think I was trashy,” you gasp as he bites down on your sensitive spot, tongue soothing the sting immediately after.
“Not trashy.” He sucks your earlobe into his mouth, nibbling. “Mine.”
You feel the unsaid words. That he can leave them on you without being found out. That a simple mark that was once forbidden is only a small eyesore now. Yoongi rolls his hips into yours, showing you how effective your touch on him is. You let out a breathy sound and he hums, biting down your collarbones to the unmarked flesh.
“So beautiful.”
Pressing a knee against his hip and hands on his shoulders, you push and roll. It's not as smooth as you want it to be; you land on him a little hard and you bump noses, but it doesn’t matter. He's laughing as he brushes the loose strands from your face to look at you.
Eager fingers work the buttons of his shirt. He runs his hands up and down the sides of your thighs. Your dress has risen above the swell of your ass, underwear on full display.
“Wanna reward you,” you mumble, hands a little clumsy under his watchful eyes and heated palms. “For being so talented, and hardworking and absolutely thoughtful. You thanked every single person there, made them feel special.”
“I thought I was supposed to blow your mind tonight.”
“Okay maybe after I blow you first.”
Yoongi’s laugh reverberates through you as you rid him of his shirt. His skin is smooth and beautiful, firmer since he’s started working out. You don’t care what the canvas looks like, as long as it belongs to Yoongi.
Your mouth explores his chest, sucking marks into his skin, bruising him so eagerly. He lets you nipple and lick, his hands, exploring your sides and squeezing the flesh he can get his hands on. He’s a vision beneath you, especially when he leans on his elbows, lifting himself to watch you unbutton the belt and dress pants.
A moan falls from your mouth as Yoongi lifts his hips to lead you pull the pants and boxers down in one, swift tug. His heavy cock bounces against his stomach, tip leaking precum and swollen read, ready for you.
You never stop being impressed by him. You settle between his spread legs, face down and ass up as you gather spit on your mouth, opening to let it dribble on his tip as you grasp his cock. He jerks at the sensation, moaning deep in his throat as he watches the spit wet the head. You’re quick to follow, licking the crown of his cock before running your tongue down his shaft, carful to spread spit as much as possible.
The sounds Yoongi makes are heaven as you begin to pump his cock in earnest, spreading his cum and your spit up and down his shaft while you tentatively suckle his tip. He throws his head back, eyes closed to the ceiling as you run your tongue around the tip again.
Carefully, you take him back in your mouth, the slide glorious as you take him as far as you can in one go. You set a steady pace, sucking vigorously and letting spit dribble from the side of your mouth to lubricate what you can’t fit, hand pumping him into your lips.
A tattooed arm comes up and fists the back of your hair, fingers tangled in the clip. Yoongi’s eyes are on you now – his hand is firm, but he doesn’t push or pull. “Fuck you look so good sucking my cock like that.”
You moan around him, wiggling your ass at the praise. His eyes shoot to where your ass is up in the air, framed by dainty lace. “Fuck you’re so hot,” he moans. You hum, making him moan again as you take him deeper, fucking him into your mouth. “just like that sweet girl.”
The sounds he makes spurs you on. He’s laid out for you, naked and flushed. You look up at him through your lashes, watching the way he grits his teeth, a soft snarl on his mouth. One hand is fisted in the sheets, the other nudging you a little fasters, his hips twitching upward occasionally.
Your eyes meat as you sink all the way down and pause, swallowing around him.
“Fuck,” Yoongi growls. He pulls you off his cock by the hair, and toward him. You protest but he presses messy, wet open mouth kisses against you. “I know you wanna suck me off all night, but I wanna fuck you. Now.”
“Yoongi,” you whine between spit and teeth.
“Sorry baby.” He doesn’t sound sorry.
He grabs the hem of your dress and pulls it over your head. He groans when he sees you’re not wearing a bra, leaning up to catch a nipple in his mouth. He shifts so that he has you cradled in his lap, his hands pressing against your back to hold you against his mouth. Your fingers tangle in his hair against as his tongue runs from one pert bud to the other.
Yoongi’s teeth pull at your nipple and you moan loudly, yanking his hair to pull him back. He looks up at you, lips glossy with spit. “I wanted to reward you.”
He slaps your ass, making you squeak and he grins. “Ride me then,” he offers, voice scratchy. “Wanna suck these perfect fucking tits while you fuck yourself on my cock.”
A huff of air escapes you. What comes out of his mouth is always surprising, it doesn’t matter how many times you’ve heard it.
You lift yourself over him as he grabs the base of his cock, running it back and forth up your slit. You moan as he pays close attention to your clit, making you buck your hips. He smiles into your chest.
“Always so fucking wet,” he notes, breathless. His top prods your entrance and you skin down slowly on him, gasping and casting your head back as his girth stretches you perfectly.
Your wet enough that the slide is bearable, but Yoongi’s cock still stretches you. He’s buried to the hilt, your pussy fluttering around him as you adjust, panting. He carefully leans back against the headboard, hands tracing up your sides to cup your tits, thumbs brushing over your nipples.
“Fuck,” you whisper.
He smiles, leaning forward. “Take your time,” the tip of his tongue flicks over your right nipple, giving you goosebumps. “I’m content right where I am.”
A moan escapes your mouth as he wraps his lips around a nipple. Your eyes flutter shut and you toss your head back, content to let his mouth suckle on your bud, his finger brushing back and forth on the other. Sparks shoot down your spine, his hot mouth sending you into overdrive as your cunt adjusts around him.
Slowly, you roll your hips. He moans, detaching his mouth to trail to the other nipple, giving it the same attention. There are no parts of you that Yoongi does love – breasts, thighs, stomach, ass – he worships it all. Will bite any part of you, kiss every inch of your skin.
Yoongi drives you wild as you slowly roll your hips back and forth, in no hurry to fuck yourself on him wildly. It feels amazing. Heat throbs between your legs and you feel the sweat slick on your spine and neck, your eyes shut as you let your hips follow a natural pace.
Beneath you, Yoongi makes sounds of appreciation. He takes breaks from lavishing your breasts to suck on your neck as you ride him slowly, rolling your hips back enough to make the slide deep. At this angle, Yoongi’s cock brushes against your g-spot without much maneuvering, making you shake in his lap.
Every part of you is trembling. You lose yourself in the way Yoongi holds you to him, mouth paying penance to everywhere he can reach. Your orgasm creeps, but neither of you rush the pace. You’re in no hurry to fuck each other to the end of the line, content to just feel.
A deep sound escapes Yoongi’s throat as he leans his head on the headboard, looking up at you. You feel his heated gaze, drawing your attention the same way he does anytime you enter the same room. Your hands go to the back of his neck, twisting your fingers there. His hands go to your hips, helping you with a new pattern of lifting and slamming back down on him.
Wet smacks fuel you further. You’re not fucking him fast but you’re fucking him deep and his eyes are burning so much it doesn’t feel like fucking anymore.
You can barely catch your breath. His skin is burning against yours, sound like whines leaving his mouth. You press your face close, noses bumping as his fingers dig into your hips. You’re shooting toward the sky, a star going going going, ready to fucking explode.
Yoongi tilts his head, his mouth brushing yours. “I love you.”
Everything shatters. You scream into his mouth, body going rigid as you cum around him hard. You’re gasping through it, white blinding you behind squeezed eyelids. Yoongi lets out a loud sound between a gasp and groan, cumming immediately from how worked up you got him with your mouth and how hard you’ve cum on his cock.
Panting, you sit there for a moment. You feel cum dripping down your thighs, but you don’t care. Your mind is spinning after your orgasm and replaying what he said.
I love you.
Min Yoongi is telling you he loves you. The man of your dreams as a child. The childhood crush you could never have. The man that you had, and then almost lost. The man that coaxed truths out of you, even when you were embarrassed of them.
He says it so easily. So freely. He’s not tense under you, his hands rubbing up and down your back, lips soft and pliant against your jaw as he helps you recover after an intense orgasm. There is nothing in his posture that suggest anxiety or regret.
Slowly, you pull away from him, looking down. His brow is sweaty, ebony hair pressed against his skin. Delicately, you brush it out of his eyes, drawing that pinpoint stare to you. You lick your lips. “You love me?”
“Mhmm,” he hums, smiling at you. Settles further into the bed with you still in his lap, making no move to pull out of you. “Course I do. You’re amazing. I’ve loved you for a very long time.”
“Really?”
“You should be more confident in your abilities to woo men.” You smack his chest. He laughs for a moment before turning serious, looking up at you with stars in his eyes. “Of course I love you. I’ve always loved you – it just took a little bit of time for me to unlock it.” You nodded, a little lost in his gaze. “You okay?”
“Hmm? Yeah, I’m sorry. I just have always wanted to hear you say that and I’m really happy.” You pause. “And a little scared. Because I have everything I’ve ever wanted, and I don’t want it to go away.”
He kisses you softly. “Is that why you looked a little lost at the doorway earlier?” You nod. “I’ve been here for most of your life,” he reminds you, pressing a kiss to the corner of your mouth. “I’m here for good. I’m not saying let’s get married tomorrow, but I have no intention of ever letting you walk down the aisle for anyone else. Ever.”
A smile curls your lips. “I’ll never let you marry someone else,” you promise him. “I can fight.”
Yoongi grins. “Sure you can.”
“I am very vicious.”
He hums and shifts, lifting you off his soft cock. You whine but he shuts you up with a kiss. “Come on my vicious girl,” he teases. “Let’s shower.”
“Okay.”
“And hey,” he says, making you pause. “I love you.” He kisses your temple. “Vicious girl.”

What are your opinions on Teen titans
'Teen Titans' is very broad. lots of things that could refer to, so i'll give my opinions on all the possible ones i can think of:
Vol. 1 / Silver Age - i have read like 3 total comics from that era but love the vibes tbh
1967 Filmation shorts - THESE ARE SO FUNNY PLS WATCH THEM!!! they're like on youtube. theres so much going on
The New Teen Titans (80s) - i still need to actually read this run start to finish not just in random chunks when the mood strikes/i have a specific question im trying to answer but like, iconic
Vol. 2 (90s) - i forgot this one existed until i was just looking at all the different possible teen titans things to talk about. so. i think that says my thoughts about that
2003 Cartoon - i grew up on this one babey (like i remember watching it as new episodes came out and everything) its always gonna hold a special place in my heart and tbh was one of my first introductions to superhero stuff in general
New Teen Titans shorts - these were so cute. the who is red x one where gar insists its jason... iconic
Vol. 3 (2003) - Geoff Johns face my wrath for what you did to the core four. but um. a WILD ride from start to finish i can tell you that!!!! i shit talk this comic a lot but like it does definitely have its moments and there are some cool and interesting things it did, it just also showed a blatant disregard for previous characterization of four of its main characters which annoys the shit out of me and always will.
Tiny Titans - SHOWSTOPPING. LEGENDARY. THE ONLY COMIC EVER
Teen Titans Go! - im going to be so real with you i understand why so many ppl hate this show but its actually so fucking funny to me. i dont regularly watch it or anything but like. it is so amusing to me. every time i remember the urn marked 'Robin II' displayed next to a crowbar i lose MY MIND. or the 'NOBODY CARES ABOUT TIIIIM DRAKE'.
Vol. 4 (2011/New 52) - this comic caused me physical pain to read. nothing makes sense. none of the characters are themselves. shit is just a mess, an absolute mess. however Bunker? Miguel? I love him. best thing to come out of this damn comic.
Teen Titans Go! To The Movies - go watch this right fucking now if you haven't seen it. its literally so good even most ppl who hate ttg still will admit its good. my friend recently reminded me that when we saw it in theaters there was a part that made me laugh so hard i literally fell out of my chair
Vol. 5 (2014/Still New 52) - this one is also really bad but at least its kinda funny. definitely more pleasant to read than Vol. 4 but like its still not good or pleasant to read, i just mean that like, in comparison. the last two issues i actually genuinely like tbh (bc #23 is a standalone like, just nice team story, and then #24 is a memorial for Tim after he 'died' in Rebirth)
Justice League vs Teen Titans movie - the dcamu is a fucking fever dream but like the concept of max from wizards of waverly place voicing jaime while violet from american horror story voices raven amused me so much. also the FUCKIN UHHH MAGICAL GIRL-ESQUE TRANSFORMATION SCENE WITH DAMIAN THEN JUST TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE CAR FOR HIS SWORD IS SO FUCKING FUNNY
Teen Titans: Judas Contract movie - its the judas contract. it is what it is.
Vol. 6 (Rebirth) - i have not read too much of this one (like. ive read... chunks of it but not the whole thing) but eh. i've heard bad things about later parts of it especially and from what i've read that seems to... line up.
Titans TV show - a hot mess. superhero riverdale. i binged the first two seasons within 48 hours. very nice costumes and mostly very well cast but the writing makes me die
Tween Titans - in that one episode of dc superhero girls. im just obsessed with Dick having the thick jersey accent its so fucking funny
Teen Titans Academy - I really was not vibing with it early on but as we've actually gotten to focus on the new kids more i've liked it more, but overall its just way too bloated of a cast. having the new characters students, the previous team older students, and then the og titans as teachers is just... too much to focus on in one book. then also did not like the attempt at dick/babs/kory love triangle drama in like issue 2 get tht shit outta here
and if u meant more just the team overall like. i think the titans are cool

Bonfire, full moon, and squash for the autumnal asks?
Bonfire (favourite autumnal activity)
Oh, this is a tough one because I love them all so much! Ultimately though, it's tough to beat just watching the leaves drop, taking pictures of the explosion of colour or stargazing (and moongazing and planet-watching and sitting quietly thru the whole entire sunset with reverence...) on a clear and spooky October night.
Full moon (favourite candy and why)
That would be candy corn because I love controversy and drama! Lmfao (I also enjoy the aesthetic and the texture but I should probs not subject my poor pancreas to that level of refined sugar again ever at this age tbh).
And if I go to the "European" aisle of the grocery store there are these Dutch licorice gummies in the shape of cats that have IMHO a much stronger flavour than any other black licorice I've ever seen, which might be my favourite thing ever (I've been known to chew dried star anise raw bc I adore that infamous polarizing flavour). "Katjedrop" they're called iirc. You can get those year-round but come on they're black cats! And they're ADORBS placed on top of halloween-themed cupcakes.
Squash (traditions)
Oh, I love this one!
Usually the fun stuff (baking, horror movies, etc) I do during the day, as I've never been much of a partier and I've always lived in apartments rather than standalone houses that would get trick-or-treaters. I almost always take this day off if it's not already on one of my regular days off.
The local tattoo shops always totally go off with first-come-first-served drop in Halloween flash sales so on years I can afford a new tattoo I show up bright and early!
I try to always do something involving remembering our dead with other people, often just a small evening drop-in (or on Zoom the first year of covid or when the weather is bad etc) where we just tell stories about the people and pets who've passed on, I try to time it so people can come and go before Halloween parties get underway or they have to be home to answer their doors etc. Whenever possible I try to hold this in person around a campfire and encourage people to toss notes or letters into the fire for their loved ones.
And then when people kinda stop coming I go inside and do some more personal things to that effect at my altar, mostly I take some time to send some love to the marginalized dead of the past year (queer, impoverished, racialized and/or disabled people whose lives were cut short by chronic stress, hate crimes, systemic injustices, generational trauma, medical neglect etc) bc I don't tend to participate in that on the more mainstream designated days (like, I think TDOR is mostly a day of performative BS for cis people now, and I feel drained even thinking about it etc).
It's one of the few times per year when I'll read both Tarot and runes for myself in the same night. If I've fucked up in some big enough way that the guilt has followed me all year, I consider this a good time to ritually lay it to rest. And then if there's time and energy left I have a specific yearly spell I which is intended to bring me strength and support to get through winter because I HATE winter in the cold wet slushy town I've lived in all my life, but sometimes I just go to bed and leave that part for November 1st lmao

Netflix needs to hurry up and confirm these new Fear Street movies because I need to know if it's going to be the original cast plus some newbies or just a whole new cast in general. TBH I won't really care that much if Sam and Deena are not involved in them. It's going to be boring if it's straight after such a gay trilogy. What do you want to realistically see for these new movies? New trilogy? Standalones? Direct Sequels? Prequels?
Hello friend!
First of all let me start by saying I'm literally so tickled that you came to me with this question. And I am so, so happy that you have popped into my inbox to talk to me about Fear Street aka the only thing I ever want to talk about!
I feel like there are two ways that I want to/can answer this question lol On the subject of what do I see realistically? Realistically I see them focusing on some of the previous killers, so maybe more of a prequel vibe. I could see like a Billy Barker, Milkman storyline, or something with a totally different Shadyside killer. I am intrigued to see how or if they follow up on someone having apparently grabbed the book out of the mall's basement but I could also see them shying away from that because it would be pretty similar to the storyline they've already done (summoning a killer/deal with the devil/etc.) I'm not sure I hold out too much hope for seeing another gay centered storyline but of course that's what I would love the most!
Now I feel like the other way to answer this question is the "what do I want to see" part because I feel like that's a little different. I personally want to see Sam and Deena (and Josh) again and have the focus be on them once more. I wouldn't mind seeing them out of Shadyside (you guys know how I feel about post-canon college Deena and Sam) and see them having to deal with the effects of what happened back in Shadyside. I also think it would be super interesting to explore what might happen to Sam if someone tried to stir up that curse again or started summoning the other Shadyside killers. So my ultimate dream would be another movie or two focusing on them at the center, going through more horror-centric plots and elements but still adhering to the whole "we've never heard of the bury your gays trope" mentality and living happily ever after and kissing in the broad daylight. Alternatively I would be equally excited to see the actors from the original movies all back and playing different roles (a la 166 or American Horror Story) but I would also be disappointed not to see a Deena and Sam (or Kiana and Olivia) centric story but once again I could see them shying away from making it too similar to what they've already done.
Tl;dr I'm with you, anon, without Sam and Deena I'm not sure I will buy in the same way! But I'm really hoping they're back somehow (and not just getting killed off or something dumb)

Tales of Zestiria was fun. I watched the anime, movie and played the game. Also watched a few playthroughs cause I have no time to replay it. There was a LOT i heard going in so here's what I heard and what I think now after playing and watching.
Zesty Game stuff
Its a mediocre game
Maybe for some but its really not that bad. Its slow in places and the battle mechanics are a bit annoying but its actually quite nice. I actually really like the fact that the plot isn't super complicated. I also do like the plot in general. It's not the best but its fine.
Tumblr media
Its gay
It really REALLY is. Like fuck Word of God. Mikleo and Sorey radiate long term boyfriends energy and literally everyone in the game comments on it vaguely enough to sort of fly under some radars.
Tumblr media
Its only good because gay
I dunno, to me the gay was surely one reason for liking it but I wouldn't have liked the gay aspect if Sorey and Mikleo weren't likeable characters. TBH I don't dislike any of the characters in this game. I'd even go as far as to say each one of them has the potential to be a fave. The cast is honestly the greatest part of the game for sure.
Tumblr media
Alisha got shafted and shat on after she left
Disagree. She was probably mis-marketed but she never came across as a long term companion to me. Very early in the game the moment she becomes a squire Sorey starts getting dizzy and his vision goes dark on one side. The number of people I saw saying that Alisha got sidelined because of Rose and that she was being trashed later made me think I'd see characters insulting or mocking her the entire time. But honestly that never happened. There was Edna who trolled her and Mikleo who kept defending her. Everyone kept praising her for being who she was and not once was I made to believe that Alisha was undeserving or pathetic. She was set up as a strong female character and it was what I got. Honestly the whole Alisha was set up as a love interest argument only seems to exist cause she is the first girl Sorey interacts with.
Tumblr media
Rose is a mary sue
Didn't see it. She is good at a lot of things but she was also being set up as Sorey's replacement(?)so it only makes sense that she is as good with resonance and stuff as Sorey. I like her whole arc with being uncomfortable about suddenly seeing people that weren't there before. I like how starkly different she was from Alisha. Both are strong and cool in their own ways.
Tumblr media
Zesty Anime stuff
The anime is trash
I liked it as a standalone. It definitely changed some stuff that should not have been changed but I actually quite like that I got two completely different things and didnt know what to expect in the game going in after the anime which was great. Its not amazing or anything and it sure does mess up a lot but meh. Also animated baby bean best boy Sorey.
Tumblr media
Mikleo got shafted
Ooh boy was he shafted. I still didnt mind it too much since he was clearly very important to Sorey still, it made his big reveal in the game that much more shocking and emotional to me since I didn't expect that. I actually like both versions of his tiff with Sorey too. Kind of wish they had kept the swimming thing, its adorable that he can't swim.
Tumblr media
Het baiting
It was everywhere, oh my god so much het baiting and it was so half hearted. Like seriously I can't. I LOVED IT. I also live for the way movie Sorey leans into Mikleo and goes "too bad we didnt meet under better circumstances" with that teasing tone and Mikleo looks at him like (ಠ_ಠ). You're getting your ass kicked later Sorey.
Tumblr media
Alisha got more parts
Thank GOD. I really like her and Rose. I loved seeing her and Rose's backstory more here. It made me more invested in her and Rose's arc.
Overall, I liked it. I love every character, Sorey is genuinely one of my top favorite main characters. I enjoyed the movie and the anime despite all its flaws and I loved the game.

Rules: If you wanna join this Q & A just copy and paste and change the answers :) Tag 5 people :) ENJOY
1. What's your fave scene in Joker?
Omg can I say the ones where Arthur is in? 😩 I started listing some scenes but then I realized I was listing the whole movie lol. There are scenes that make me particularly soft, but I think it's impossible to answer this question. I cherish each second of this movie 💙 some of those scene though, are the one where Arthur is stretching his shoe up at Haha's, I find him very handsome in those few frames. The scene where he comes home and talks with Penny and the domesticy of their shared moments, the one where he answers the phone, the Pogo's one, the one at the hospital, the dancing scene at Arkham at the end of the movie, the one of Joker talking with Murray... These are so many and I didn't even finish to list them, it's just impossible 😭
2. The cutest scene in Joker?
Another tough question omg. The iconic scene of "Oh yeah? Who do you talk to?", the one where he's playing peekaboo with the kid, the one where he does the gun gesture with his hand in the hallway to Sophie, and each one of the Carnival scenes, because Carnival is the cutest clown ever existed 🥺
3. The saddest scene in Joker?
I don't think it's possible to find the saddest scene, the whole movie is sad and painful. But I think that Arthur reading Penny's file and in general being aware of the dynamics with his mother is a point of no return for him and his mental health, Penny was too important for him.
4. The funniest scene in Joker?
Assuming that there is a funny scene in Joker which I find difficult to believe, I'd say when he scares Gary. This scene is brilliant and so well composed, he looks particularly amused by himself when he does that. This particular sweetness mixed with a sort of soft pride in managing to scare him off makes me smile 🥺
5. The sexiest scene in Joker?
Every scene where Arthur is in, don't mind me. 😂 Starting from the one where he's watching Wayne on the television with Penny, the second therapy session, the stairs dance, when he's rehearsing, and every scene where he's wearing the red sweater or the red suit. But again, my answer is every scene where Arthur is in 🙌🏻🤡
6. Do you want part two?
Joker is perfect as a standalone, but Arthur is so complex that there's a lot to explore in a sequel. A part of me would love to see Arthur again, of course, but another part of me is afraid that a sequel might ruin the glorious memories that Joker gave us. If they get it right, being respectful of Arthur and his story, and don't mess up things like very often happen with a sequel, I can be only happy to see him again. But they must make a sequel not just for a matter of money because the first one became a cult, but because they want to explore Arthur better and have something to say. Todd loves Arthur as much as we do, I'm sure he'd love to explore him better and I think with him we would be in good hands, he cares about Arthur and this movie. 💙
7. How many times did you watch Joker?
I've legitimately lost counts. A lot of times 😂
8. Are you more of a Joker's or Arthur's girl?
I don't like this expression tbh because Joker is Arthur, it's the same person. Joker is Arthur, he's just in a different state of mind. I'm his through and through no matter what he's going through in his life and in what state of mind he's in. But if you want an answer, I'd say Arthur because Arthur is who he is and who he wanted to be. "He doesn't want to feel so bad anymore" 🥺
9. Do you believe he was adopted?
After a whole year I am still very confused about this. I don't think he was adopted, but the theory that says he was adopted got some points too. I think it's one of the hardest things to understand of this movie because both of the theories are valid and believable, though I think he wasn't adopted.
10. Worst/most hated person in Joker?
Honestly every person who was rude to him in the same level. And I don't know why, every time I see that Wallstreet guy taking Carnival's wig off him on the subway scene, wearing it he himself and simulating Arthur's laughter to mock him before beating him, I get nauseous. It's such a disrespectful gesture and privacy invasion, I don't know why it hits me like that but I hate it.

The June Review
Dramas & Films I watched in June
The Romance of Tiger and Rose (2020) [9.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I finally watched this so I could stop avoiding spoilers and tbh it did not disappoint. I finished this in about 2 days and I honestly don’t know what to do with myself now. I might have to start calling Lu Si the comedy queen because of the one heck of the performance she put on. I also loved the chemistry between the leads and by ep 10, it was so obvious the male lead was so in love with her, my heart just burst for them. The couple also reminded me of Donghua & Fengjiu in some instances bc Han Shuo is whipped for his woman just like Donghua is. Anyway... I might have to go rewatch this bc I feel empty inside now.
My Dear Lady (2020) [6.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I watched this curiously because of the summary but it seems most of the plot happened towards the end of the drama and by the end it felt rushed. I also got bored often watching most of this but the acting was still good.
Kore Wa Keihi de Ochimasen! (2019) [8.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I do truly enjoy watching some jdramas bc they’re just 10 episodes with no exaggerated or lengthy plot line and this was exactly it. It also had the subtle romance plot which doesn’t take the majority of the 10 eps which I quite enjoyed. And pretty much each ep came with a different story which I also loved with odd exception of the romance plot and the two last episodes.
Kleun Cheewit (2017) [7.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
This isn’t my first lakorn and it certainly won’t be my last either. The chemistry between the two leads were amazing. I’m not sure what else to say... felt like they dragged out some parts and some things were a little so-so but good drama.
Mystic Pop Up Bar (2020) [9.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
This is probably one of the best dramas I’ve watched this year, at first I wasn’t planning on watching it but I decided to give it a try and little did I know, I was going to be hooked two episodes in. I did mostly watch it for the back story (with the young actors) and I hope when they’re older they might consider doing another drama together. But I’m a sucker for tragedy & angst which I also try to avoid most of the time going into dramas (this is a very odd combo). The plot was great. A great drama, and I notice this also applies to books, when the audience guesses and already knows of the plot twists before they are revealed. It’s quite satisfying when all the pieces fall into place and that is exactly what happened. Mystic Pop Up Bar also kept it light-hearted bc you needed the humour after watching some of the angsty scenes, phew.
Someday or One Day (2019) [8.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I guess you could say this is a murder mystery for most of the episodes. The twist and turns are quite unexpected and I quite enjoyed watching. Greg Hsu could have my heart any day of the week. (this list is getting longer and longer with each passing day)
Want More 19 (2018) [7.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
A short web drama. I mean... the main reason I was here was for Day6′s OST ‘Chocolate’ It’s a great song. Also an amazing band. Again, it’s just a breather in between long-winded dramas.
The Legend of White Snake (2019) [7.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I know I said below another drama review that I had changed my ways and don’t skip through things now. Well... I skipped through this one mainly because I got fed up and bored, this consistently lasted through a whole chunk of eps. So I kind of skipped to the end... I didn’t miss much if I’m being honest and I wasn’t a fan of the ending.
Tokyo Tarareba Musume (2017) [8.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I went through a phase of watching dramas but regretted not paying enough attention to them the first time I watched them, either by skipping through the episode or just missing out episodes in general. Now that I’ve changed my ways and want to fully appreciate dramas, no matter how good or bad, I decided to rewatch this. There’s nothing better than watching Sakaguchi Kentaro be an angsty af man. Anyway, I enjoyed this very much. Jdramas have a lovely charm about them by not being too long and don’t drag out the storyline either.
Good Casting (2020) [8.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
A better title for this show would be Chan Mi and her sidekicks... I wasn’t really a big fan of her character. She was literally everywhere & I think that’s where the plot falls... maybe I would have liked it more if we actually had a chance at seeing more of the other main characters. I think I was trying so hard to find a reason to like it but there wasn’t much to like about it. The premise of it sounded so appealing but again, it was just another drama that fell short.
When My Love Blooms (2020) [7.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
Let’s be real here... I was watching this for Park Jinyoung & Jeon So Nee, I don’t know about you all. Honestly... I felt like Jinyoung & Jeon So Nee’s storyline would have worked well in a standalone drama. That would be quite interesting to see. Anyway, great chemistry between those two as well. I can’t say much for the present day storyline, easiest way to put it, I didn’t like it. But I suppose it’s what I get for a melodrama with the added extra drama tag. (Note to self, stop watching melodramas)
My Woofy Poofy Love (2018) [8.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
It’s quite refreshing to watch short web dramas like this in between heavy dramas. You are angst free while watching fluffy web dramas. This was pure sweetness and very uplifting to watch, especially because I’ve been watching some heavy dramas recently.
Where Your Eyes Linger (2020) [10 out of 10] (BL)
Tumblr media
I’ve never given out a 10 before, they’re rare, extremely rare. Perfect actors, perfect length of episodes, perfect storyline. I loved it. I loved the way it reeled you in the first couple of episodes, with the fluff and the humour, then it eased you in and gave you a taste of the angst to come before completely ripping your heart out. And they gave us a kiss! A KISS! It was one of the softest kisses ever. PLEASE GIVE US SEASON 2... Ahem. At the moment, it is one of the best dramas I have seen this year. (I’m going to have to compile a list at the end of year of the best dramas, aren’t I? There’s bound to be more than one, Mystic Pop Up Bar is heading for a Best Drama crown this year too) Anyway. Go watch it, it’s worth it.
The King: Eternal Monarch (2020) [7.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
Okay, if you follow me, you’ll know I was watching this for Woo Do Hwan and also Kim Kyung Name (you might have not known that one) and the queen Kim Go Eun. I mean it’s definitely not the best drama I’ve seen all year, it’s only June, there’s plenty of time for another drama to come out and impress everyone. But with this one... there was nothing really keeping me there except those three. My interest did peak around the middle episodes but died down quickly after. I wasn’t in love with Kim Go Eun/Lee Min Ho pairing but that’s just me, certain episodes they clicked with me and others they didn’t. I wanted more out of that final ep but I don’t at the same time. I wanted to see more of everyone’s life instead of the brief snippets we got, not to be biased but I wanted more to see more of Jo Yeong. I guess you take what you can get... we were teased with so much, the excellent cast, the hype for it and having a well known writer behind it but having watched it, it was a big let down, for me at least.
Born Again (2020) [7.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
For an overall mystery/crime/fantasy/melodrama drama (If we can call it that) it wasn’t that bad... if we exclude the horror of the romance plot. The writer glorified what Jang Ki Yong’s characters did and that was not okay, he clearly needed help. Main Female lead ended up with the wrong guy. Lee Soo Hyuk deserves better. The stylist and him need a raise for his outfits during the later episodes when his past self takes over his current body because hot damn he was pulling that off better than any other character I’ve seen in a suit.
My Holo Love (2020) [8.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I loved the beginning of the drama but my interest died down after the plot was revealed (an evil man wanting the AI)... but I did however love the last scene of the series, that was a nice way to end it.
Novoland: The Castle In the Sky (2016) [7.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
I just struggled to get into the storyline, I’m not sure whether to go back and watch the “happy ending” (ep 29) because I was fine with how they ended things.
Maybe, Maybe Not (2019) [8.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
This a web drama, sweet and short ^.^
Long Time No See (2017) (BL) [8.5 out of 10]
Tumblr media
This is just a short little drama, I loved the chemistry between the leads and it was very action packed for the few episodes it had.
Snow Flower (2019) [Movie] [7.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
There is just something about Japanese movies... and sometimes dramas. It’s hard to explain, where they can be the most melancholic and beautifully filmed thing. It’s the odd feeling I get when I’m drinking coffee and it’s raining outside and I’m just overwhelmed and feeling nostalgic. Have you ever watched a film where you thought it was good, not extremely good, just good and not really have any qualms with it. This was the movie. Setting itself to be a sad movie with it’s summary surrounding terminal illness, but it’s hardly reflected upon. It focuses more on the romantic side of things which I didn’t mind. If you’ve got 2 hours to kill then it might be worth the watch.
Secretly, Greatly (2013) [Movie] [8.0 out of 10]
Tumblr media
Worth a watch. It’s a good spy action movie with the comedy elements added into it as well.

Oh I love these. Let's see: A, B, F, I, T, and U if it's not too many.
Yay!  Here we go (for this ask post):
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses: Edelgard/Claude (they own real estate in my brain so)
Word of Honor/Tian Ya Ke: Wen Ke Xing/Zhou Zi Shu (the most recent addition!)
Legend of Hei: Wu Xian & Lao Jun (platonic or shippy depending on the day really)
The Murderbot Diaries: Murderbot & ART (their ace/aro BROTP is so so excellent)
The Mandalorian: Din/Luke (lol at this one because I've only seen this series, the first two movies of the newest trilogy, and the standalone Hans Solo movie)
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
TBH, Edelclaude!  They don't have any supports in-game (a travesty!!!) and I was pretty firmly on the Edeleth train until my rarepair curiosity kicked in.  I can't remember which fic I stumbled across first on AO3 but it quickly went from "huh, they would have an interesting dynamic" to "oh, this hits a lot of my buttons" and "all of the fics for them are so excellent" to "well, I guess this ship will own a piece of my soul now". F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
I'm a fandom wanderer so I'll interpret "been in" loosely to mean that I always enjoy consuming the source material and will dip back into fandom to chill every so often and regularly go back to it for my comfort fics.  So in that sense, 15 or 16 years, for the Teen Titans animated series.  I added to my WIPs for them as recently as last year.
If we mean more strictly as in an uninterrupted period of time I was in a particular fandom continuously consuming/producing fanworks... probably about two years?  For Prince of Tennis (waaay back in the day) and xxxHOLIC (also very way back, which is not a coincidence.  oh to be a carefree teenager with so much time and mental energy again...)
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
No, I don't think so, but then again, I mostly lurk on tumblr and have curated my experience here quite narrowly.  I think in general I'm past the age where I engage with parts of any fandom that causes me stress so yeah, I'll like what I like and engage with those parts of it that make me happy and comfortable. T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Claude von Riegan is bisexual as hell.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
FE3H: Edelgard, to the surprise of exactly nobody.  Superficially, I adore the character design of a tiny Emperor wielding a huge-ass ax and kicking ass.  There's so much more to say if we were to go deep, but suffice to say she's such a strong character, but not like a Strong Female Protagonist(TM) where she shuns all affection and conflates strength with coldness/aggression.  I think that could have so easily been what she was (and I'm sure there is plenty of fandom discourse on that which I avoid like the plague) but instead we see her warming to people, showing affection, even if awkwardly, and in what she asks of Byleth you can tell that she genuinely cares about her Black Eagles.  In fact, her affection for her House mates is a constant thread in her characterization even through to the Fire Emblem Heroes versions of her.  Anyway, I love her.
Teen Titans (animated): Raven.  For many of the same reasons as Edelgard, actually, hahaha I have a type.  She's presented as antisocial and apathetic and even kind of mean at first, but she has good reasons to and she opens up a lot as she gets to know the team better.  She is also unbelievably powerful so yes maybe I also have a power kink.
Haikyuu!!: Tsukishima Kei.  Now, for something different!  The exact moment I was like, "Him, he's my favourite" was when we realized that, for all his seemingly deep angst about volleyball being tied to his older brother, his older brother is SUPER well-adjusted and just.... lol Tsukishima you are a drama queen!!  He's such a troll but is also SO EASILY trolled.  I love my tsundere baby troll.

I meant like media* you know manga anime, movies instead of *immediate
Ohhh lmao
I’m a pretty big fan of anime so I’ve watched a lot of genres of it. I know shonen is typically always the most popular and mainstream, but I’m more towards Slice of Life anime or shoujo anime. They just have a MUCH MUCH MUCH better and realistic writing than other genres. Like no offense, but I rlly judge people whenever they say a shonen anime is the best anime in history lmao like bruhhhh shut up. I was one of the minority last year which honestly wasn’t impressed by Demon Slayer cuz I noticed that most of the characters were flat (esp MC). The ending of its manga only fortified my conclusions lmao I also don’t like Bnha because deku annoyed the f out of me and it seemed so wishy washy. Considering how people are finally recognizing it’s unoriginality (literally designs basically copied off from HxH, Naruto & atla), I’m glad that I never continued watching it and my opinion of it remains the same.
I just started reading manga a few years ago but yeh I love em. They’re great to read when the anime still hasn’t caught up to it lmao one of my favs in cases like that would be Akatsuki No Yona and Kaichou Wa Maid Sama. The anime movies....... well. What can I say? They’re amazing xD They’re FAR better than anime and manga in general, simply because most standalone films are SOL genre and the animation is just beautiful. I mean, c’mon.... Your Name? That movie was legendary.
Tbh I think the whole anime culture is problematic on its own, especially since most anime romanticize abuse or sexualize actual children. The anime community generally is full of sexist misogynistic guys as well so there’s that (majority of them are into shonen or ecchi/harem). Whenever a male MC actually IS realistic and not some unrealistic always confident perverted guy, the community will bash on him for being a ‘wimp’. There’s a lot of delusional people in there. There’ll even be people saying that an action anime would’ve been better if the MC was a male instead of female smh. There’s even a female counterpart for them lmao these are the ones who usually watch shoujo anime that romanticize abuse (eg Diabolik Lovers) or stan basically any hot anime guy despite the background.
Point is, most anime that actually have realistic writing, will be rated poorly because weebs don’t like realistic shit lmao Maquia, Fairy Gone, Japan Sinks 2020 and Guilty Crown are all examples of anime that had great writing and developments, but hated across the community exactly because it was realistic and talked about real life issues. There’s actually only a few good shonen anime that are worth watching, but most SOL anime are pretty good so if you ever wanna watch anime then I suggest going into the SOL route instead lmao

Thoughts on the Prince of Egypt cast recording because I didn’t notice it was on Spotify until today
- Not a big fan of any of the singing in this one. They’re not bad but they’re very bland and poppy and doing that faux auto tune thing. Not my jam. (also the British accents for an Egyptian setting were distracting, but since it’s a London production I don’t think I can really complain about that)
- Cutting Playing With the Big Boys and making the priests less comedic was definitely a good idea. In general the expansions of the songs from the movie work well (excluding one...), though some of the orchestration choices confused me.
- Footprints on the Sand and For the Rest of My Life stand out as great additions, but you could probably cut half of these songs and not miss them. This is an issue I have with most of Schwartz’s shows.
- I really really like the addition of For the Rest of My Life though. I always think it’s weird when Moses continues to unquestioningly follow the Lord even after witnessing the plagues. Tbh I’d love to see how that’s resolved in the full show, but even if it’s poorly done the acknowledgment is really satisfying.
- That being said The Plagues was a nearly perfect song before, and now it barely leaves an impression because it switches moods so often. It feels like a reprise instead of a standalone song, and that’s a big disappointment.
- Did they change the ending so that one of the priests lead the charge into the sea instead of Ramses? If so that’s some weird revisionism that doesn’t do any favors to the characters they’ve built.
Overall it’s a decent recording, it’s not outright bad in any way but there are enough small things that rub me the wrong way that I’ll probably just stick to the original soundtrack.
