You were the best damn bartender in Quantico, Virginia. At least, that's what you thought to yourself. You made work fun. You worked in a club environment so if you wore something scandalous, flirted with the customers a bit, you were sure to bring in a hefty tip at the end of the night.

But, you loved the hustle and bustle of it. You loved the interactions, loved singing along to the bands or the good music. You loved having conversations with the locals, loved celebrating parties for kids turning 21, people getting married, or hell, people getting divorced.

Then you met who you swore is your soulmate. Something in you stilled when you were bartending. You never froze up at your job. You were good at what you do. But seeing him walk through that door, looking all handsome in a suit, he took your breath away. You watched how he interracted with the bouncer.

You watched him show his badge to your best friend. FBI. An average Joe wouldn't just waltz into your bar, you knew he was a sophisticated man.

But when he locked eyes with you, you felt like the bar had heated up 100 degrees. Making his way over to you, you were trying to calm down. What had you feeling like this?

"Hi, I'm Agent Hotchner with the Behavioral Analysis Unit for the FBI. It's my understanding from the gentleman at the front that you are the lead bartender?"

You finished making your drink for one of the locals and asked your partner to manage the bar. Luckily it was early evening and the college kids had about another hour before they started flooding in so you knew you'd be okay leaving her by herself.

"Yes, I'm Y/n Y/L/N. It's nice to meet you. How can I help you?"

You shook his hand, and you swore you both held it for longer than you both intended.

All I could think was that she was beautiful. No, no, I can't think like that. My wife, ex-wife was brutally murdered a little over a year ago. Something's different talking to her, to-Y/n. Something I haven't felt in a while but I don't know what it is.

She's a bartender. I hear she's a damn good one. Maybe that's why she's about to be the suspect in a string of murders. Men have been killed shortly after they leave this bar. Traces of posion have come back on the tox screen. Bartenders have access to the drinks and alcohol before they serve, y/n's the perfect suspect.

But she's beautiful, and I haven't seen her stop smiling at all. She has a gorgeous smile. She'd be the sunshine on the rainiest days for the men that have been murdered. Before I know it, my thoughts and feelings consumed me, I'm still holding her hand. I could feel Dave's eyes burning a hole into me.

"Have you heard about the three men murdered around town?"

"Yeah, I have. It's very unfortunate. They were great men. At least to me. They tipped well and always had friendly conversations. They also stood up for me if some men coming in here for the first time were getting a little handsy with me."

Oh how I wished I could be the one to make sure no one got handsy with her. Wait, what am I saying? She's a suspect, she doesn't know it, but she is.

"How were they killed?"

Agent Hotchner's partner spoke up to answer your question.

"They were poisoned."

Ugh, these poor men. Had to die a slow pain, they didn't deserve it. They deserved justice now.

"We just wanted to come in to see if anything unusual has happened lately."

"I've seen a lot of crime shows with my ex-boyfriends before. You're really trying to see if I did it. Which I didn't. I don't think I have the heart to kill anyone. I broke up with my last ex because he hunted and I couldn't bare the thought of killing animals."

Of course you broke up with your ex because of that. But I have a job to do and I have to investigate further. Plenty of killers have lied straight to my face before.

"We'll be in touch Ms. Y/l/n, thank you for your time."

You smiled and shook their hands one last time before you went back to working your shift. Something about Aaron caught my eye. Maybe it's the way he was blushing like a school boy. You're not sure, but he was handsome.

Just when Aaron walked into the bar, you smiled at him, offering him a drink.

"Agent Hotchner, it's good to see you again."

Your smile never waivered. Maybe you would shoot your shot with him.

I can't believe I have to do this. Arrest someone this pretty. Arrest this girl who Rossi thinks I have feelings for. What? Feelings? That's an intense word, but I have to arrest her.

"Unfortunately I'm here to place you under arrest."

I watched all the color drain from her face. I watched her smile fall so fast. But it had to be her. Rossi and the team wasn't so sure, but I have a gut feeling it's her. Of course with it being my team, they weren't going to stop me. I took her sunshine away.

"Agent Hotchner, I, I didn't do anything."

Your manager saw what was going on, he was like your work dad. He took care of you like his daughter, despite him having sons, he treated you like his princess. You heard him say say, "Y/n, I'm getting you a lawyer, do not speak. I know you didn't do this. But I'll meet you where they're taking you."

You smiled back at him, tears filling your eyes. You wanted to make everyone happy, you never wanted to hurt anyone. How are you being arrested? You didn't do anything wrong.

Your ride back in Aaron's SUV was silent. How could you think he was your soulmate? Your soulmate would never arrest you. But you were still feeling something, you couldn't explain it.

I keep looking in the rearview mirror at her. I had to trust my gut. She poisioned those men. But why do I feel so guilty arresting her. From the time we had met her, been surveillencing her, up until I placed the handcuffs on her, she had smiled. Everyone spoke highly of her. I took away her sunshine. I did that.

As you walked into an interrogation room, Aaron sat you down in the seat, then took off your hand cuffs, handcuffing one hand to the table instead.

"We'll wait for your lawyer, do you need anything?"

"No."

You couldn't even look at him. How could her. You told him you didn't do it.

As I walked out, I was greeted with Penelope. "Sir, she has nothing on her record, not even a speeding ticket. I've looked through her social media posts and everyone spoke so highly of her. Friends were making special post to thank her for being a great friend. She took care of everyone. Sir, I-I know I'm not an agent, but I just can't believe it's her."

Penelope was cut off by my phone ringing, picking it up after viewing the caller I.D.

Morgan said, "Hotch, we got the wrong girl. It's Y/n's bartending partner. I just watcher her slip something into this guy's drink. I'm bringing her in, we can cut Y/n loose. You can be happy now. Y/n's not a killer. What that gut feeling is, is your feelings that you like her Hotch. You haven't felt that since Haley. I know it's been 20 years, but trust me man. Y/n is something special, according to the track record she has. She's the opposite of a killer. She's just the type of sunshine that you and Jack need in your life."

Aaron walked in and said, "I'm sorry, there has been a huge mistake. You are free to go. It was the other bartender you worked with.

"What? There's no way. She's amazing at what she does."

Aaron shook her head and said, "One of my agents was in the bar watching the entire time, he was undercover. He watched her slip something in another man's drink."

"Oh. Well, I'm glad you got the right killer. If, if you don't mind, can one of your agents give me a ride home? I don't have my car, obviously."

You didn't know how to feel. You knew you didn't do anything, but was Agent Hotchner always going to have a doubt in his mind that you were a killer?

You got in his car, this time sitting in the front seat. A storm was coming in, you enjoyed the rain and thunder, it calmed you. You two rode in silence, when he dropped you of at your apartment, he walked you up.

When you opened your door, you turned around to thank him, instead that didn't come out.

"I told you I didn't do it, ya know?"

"I know. I know. I'm sorry. I. There's something about you, y/n. I thought you were a suspect, but you should've never been one."

As your eyes were red and filled with tears, you looked at the man who you thought was your soulmate, instead, he had ruined you. Yes, you two didn't date, yes, you didn't hook up, but there was something there.

"Well then why the hell did you do this, Aaron? Why arrest me?"

"My ex-wife passed away a year ago. I haven't had feelings for anyone in nearly 20 years. My feelings for you confused me. I didn't know what I was feeling. I didn't know what these feelings were because I've been so out of touch with them. And it took me a minute to realize that these feelings are because I didn't think you were a killer, I thought you were beautiful. I think you're beautiful. But that gut feeling was that I think. I think I've found my soulmate."

As she stepped closer to me, I watched the sunshine fill her eyes again, her smile creeping up her face. God, was she beautiful and amazing, and from her friend's testimonies who I interviewed, she was a down right amazing person. Just the absolute sunshine to be around.

You were going to kiss Aaron. You were glad he figured out his feelings. This was going to be the start of something new. You didn't know what happened to his ex, you'd find out someday. You took the chance. You placed your hands on Aaron's hips and leaned in to kiss him. You were so happy that Aaron felt the same way. How did you know this? He placed his hands on your face and kissed you back like you were the only sunshine he'd ever see again.

I love talk about any couples' love languages. It reveals so much to a character's core, provides background, and tells us about who they are!

We all know Colin's love language is physical touch; I suspect he will greatly receive love by way of words of affirmation (we've already seen "you merely believed yourself in love; one should never apologize" exhibit A and 'purpose' scene exhibit B). Imo, Penelope shows her love with words of affirmation/she will receive love through physical touch and acts of service; I feel Penelope would be the type to take into account actions shown to her over what is said, and of what seems too good to be true.

There's just such a long list of what we could see-

This was a relationship that came as a surprise to literally everybody, especially Jamil himself.

It all started when they had a regional basketball tournament, which required them to travel outside of NRC grounds. Jamil was much too stressed over it, of course. Not only did he have to spend 2 whole days with two of the biggest menaces at school, but he also had to leave Kalim to his own devices?! How was that even allowed??

Regardless, the trip was organised and they set off. Truthfully, the three of them had already become fairly accustomed to one another, after all - basketball requires a certain level of sportsmanship (which in Floyd's case depended mostly on his ever-changing mood swings.)

On TOP of it all, Crowley had decided to cram all three of them in one room - something about funding again and his OH SO GRAND generosity!

Needless to say, neither of them was very ecstatic at the prospect. .....However, when night rolled around, the mood in the room was just...different. Ace, Floyd and Jamil found themselves sitting cross-legged in a circle on the floor, talking (and pretty casually and calmly too.) Maybe it was the pre-game jitters, or perhaps some deep-rooted understanding which they had reached unknowingly at some point, but the conversations they were having were... exceptionally nice. Deep even, and they kept getting deeper. Each revealed parts of themselves unknown to the outside world. ...but nothing else happened, right? And they're classmates, and friends, and teammates.

It wasn't until after the game, when the *climax* of their story *came* around .

And it was all Floyd's doing. The win, the adrenaline, the excitement - a recipe for a good time.

A touch here and there, a growl, a moan and then suddenly they were tangled in each other, sweaty and spent, barely fitting on a bed way too small for 3 people.

"So uh- that was something." Ace's voice...or whatever was left of it, rang through the silence. "Fuck, I don't think I'll be able to walk tomorrow..." Floyd's smile widened, showing sharp teeth which once terrified Ace and Jamil... But unsurprisingly, not anymore.

"Awe, little Crabbyyy~" he teased him, leaning in to bite him on the shoulder, not enough to break skin, but enough to pull a painful yelp out of the boy. "You're just so delicious, I want to eat you riiiight up~"

"I don't want to ruin the idyllic setting, but I think we have to talk this through." Jamil, of course, chose to be the voice of reason in the situation, "This shouldn't happen again." He tried to be as adamant as possible.

Floyd's brows furrowed. "Don't pretend like you didn't like it, you were moani-"

"Shut up."

"Hnnn, you're blushing.~ And you came sooo much~"

"Yeah, dude. Don't act all high and mighty now. I mean- uh. I... wouldn't mind it... happening again." Ace would have crossed his arms....if he had the strength.

"Oh, we're definitely doing this again."

Jamil could only sigh. As much as he wanted to deny it - he wasn't opposed to the idea either. It was the best he'd felt in a long time, amd he could have something of his own, far away from duty and status and-

And so it was settled.

What was supposed to be a friends with benefits type of deal turned....so much more with time. The more time they spent together, the more they learned about each other's quirks - the deeper their bond grew. It was only natural for things to progress into something something more serious. And oh, was it glorious.

Floyd was... eccentric, primitive, nearly unstable, but he was the most passionate, the most emotional, the most affectionate, the most provocative (in every sense of the world.) And he was oh so deliciously physical in his affection. Ace had a boyish charm to him, a carefree take on the world, much unlike Jamil. He brought to the table excitement, unforgettable memories and enough dumb jokes to write a book...or five. Jamil was. unsurprisingly, the one to actually take care of his two feral boyfriends. He was the calm and collected voice of reason, who would make sure nobody ACTUALLY got hurt in any way. And what did he get in return? Unconditional love, the feeling of being on top of the world, a wonderful way to practice his master kink and immense loyalty. Loyalty he would return tenfold.

Now don't get me wrong, this relationship is nothing short of chaotic. It's already bad enough that Ace is part of it, but Floyd too?!

At times Jamil really questioned his decision making skills, but then the very next moment, Ace would come to tell him of whatever shenanigans he'd got involved in, instantly putting a small, barely noticeable smile on his face. And then Floyd - who would always be there for both of them. Who would attack threaten anybody daring to throw a less than savoury look, or GOD FORBID: comment at Jamil. Who'd make sure nobody would lay a finger on Ace, and in return Ace - who was always there to cure Floyd's endless boredom. And both of them were Jamil's means of escape from his tiring daily life.

And maybe it was a bit unorthodox, but neither of them would change it for the world.

Honestly, I'm tempted to write more - like headcanons for different situations in their daily life together and stuff like that, this was WAY too much fun and somehow turned out far more emotional that I originally expected..

What scares them ! Dlicti and Bucket are similar in that they both default to freeze as a fear response. Fight, Flight, Freeze, Faun, so they might not immediately read as scared when something happens.

Dlicti is affraid of clowns. Highbloods in general will probably make her freeze up any time she sees them for a long time coming, even unfamiliar ceruleans, maybe even some particularly haughty teals. Dlicti is like Plexus too in that she hypoventilates rather than hyper. The way she survived slavery was to just. Stop. They'll leave eventually.

Yeah I think all her fears revolve around the circus, carnival, clown faith in general. She is affraid to go out in public, not because she is scared of people, but because she is scared of highbloods. She was just minding her business when she was cornered, kidnapped, and enslaved. She'll probably be on alert outside her home for the rest of her life. She also avoids public for another reason. Its just easier. She doesn't remember much from her life before, and she has exclusively had social interractions in the form of hushed conversations with the few other slaves shed met, scrawled memos by the ur-clown she tended to, and the wordless interractions with her savior, and that wierd little seadweller.

Said seadweller is so wierd that she barely considers him a highblood. Really he basically isnt in everything but his blood itself. all of the traits that the highbloods she is afraid of have aside from the blood are absent in him. hes just a little guy. auuugh detheo is just a little guy. Her therapy cat. Hes her exposure therapy.

I think Dlicti likes the rain but is afraid of heavy storms. The whole carnival she lives in is pretty storm susceptible... She lives in a performer's trailer after all. I think she got help from the NNantis to move her trailer to more solid ground- a concrete or stone brick platform under a shelter near the cave that the Ur-Clown was buried under.

She also has an intense aversion to insects. Specifically the kinds associated with unclenliness like roaches, flies, and to an extent ants. She cant have those kinds of bugs touching her most of the time. In general though the bigger and slower the bug the more ok it is. Scarab beetles and Rhino beetles are her besties. She loves butterflies though prefers large moths and the duller colored ones, she loves bees, though prefers hornets and bumblebees, and hates honeybees.

She also has an intense aversion to rotten food and has definitely thrown out some perfectly fine food just under suspicion that it was too ripe.

She is bad at verbal socialization. She prefers text and whatever her local cat men have going on.

I think she is also super averse to touch for a long long time. Detheo likes being petted and likes using her as a basking spot when shes not moving/hj though and because of his small size compared to her its actually kind of calming. You need to be very ok in her book to be deemed safe though.

I think she's also. Scared of ghosts.

Bucket fears... The empire. Staying how she is right now forever. The grind. She's afraid of herself staying alive, shes afraid of her friends dying, shes more afraid of her friends leaving her behind. Dissapearing on day to participate in a bright future she could never be a part of. Something that has happened before. Something that will happen again.

Dehorner, she fears death... she fears helms and losing people to the empire. Her crew. She sees Helms as an extension of the empire. One of their instruments of consumption. Its ironic that she is an executioner... She does a lot to keep her crew safe. That includes the faked cullees (alt) who hide in her vessel. If she is ever caught out, she will be going down with the ship, and she will be the only one on it. Shes scared one day that she'll drop down to Alternia, or any of the other brood worlds, and find nothing but a smoking crater where once were her underground associates. Something that has happened before. Something that will happen again.

Splendid/Lifty: i think this could be a really funny pair. as a ship, i see it more as a rivalry with some romantic tension than anything sweet & fluffy. i think there could also be a comedic elemant to this, due to splendids incompetance as a super hero. very neat me thinks!!

Splendont/Shifty: i was gonna say i feel the same way abt this ship as the last, but then i realized we dont know much about splendont other than hes a mirror version of splendid. i think it could open to some really fun story telling opportunities! like how splendont could struggle w/ his newfound identity & deciding whether he should join the forces of good as splendids friendly rival, or pursue being another one of shifty’s partners in crime.

This episode made me love Sophie Pulone even more

Back in season 1 it really felt like Sophie’s relationship to Suletta was going to be a bog standard Worthy Opponent You’re The Only One Who Can Challenge Me sorta deal. And that trope’s not bad, but I really loved the way they went with it instead.

Because Sophie genuinely thinks Suletta is the coolest thing since sliced bread

That is such a refreshing and fun dynamic, a villain who genuinely likes the hero and wants to hang out with them, and seeing the two of them interract throughout the episode is a delight. In the montage of Suletta showing Sophie around Asticassia, I get the impression that Sophie is having the time of her life, less like a terrorist infiltrating an organization she’s planning on bringing down and more as a girl who’s hanging out with her idol and has never been happier. She’s a bit unruly for Suletta, but she’s clearly having fun

Which also leads me into another thing, which is that the episode showed a surprising amount of vulnerability to Sophie. As far as I know, we don’t know her age, but going by character design, she seems to be around Suletta’s age or younger. She’s also an orphan who’s been part of a terrorist organization for at least long enough to become a skilled Gundam pilot, which makes this scene very telling.

Sophie has a bunch of very old, possibly homemade, stuffed toys that she refers to as her family, specifically pointing out the ones filling the role of her parents and sisters. With what little we know about her, it seems like Sophie treating these stuffed animals as her family is a coping mechanism for the trauma from her upbringing. And that completely reframed how I saw her.

At the end of the first cour, Sophie came across as a bit of a yandere type with an obsession with Suletta’s skill as a gundam pilot, someone who would be wholly antagonistic and who’s interest in Suletta would be played as creepy.

but after seeing this? Sophie isn’t a yandere, she’s a kid. The Dawn of Fold treat her as an adult, but she clearly isn’t. She latches onto Suletta because Suletta is someone like her, someone she relates to as a witch, and someone who can fill the role of big sister in her life. Getting to spend time with an older sister figure at a festival is the kind of experience that she should have had and probably wants, but never could because she lost her parents, but now she’s getting that chance, even if it’s on false premises.

And as for this scene?

Well, Suletta has made it clear that she doesn’t share Sophie and Norea’s worldview, but Sophie still wants her big sister in her life. Accepting the duel is both her way of trying to get Suletta to accept her view on things, and her following through on asking Suletta to teach her earlier. After all, Suletta is showing them how things work around Asticassia, and Sophie follows her like a lost duckling.

This girl may not act like it, but she’s a bundle of trauma and poor coping mechanisms, and I love her so much for it.

Now, see, starting off with a kinda hard one... Taka's an interesting bean in what I calculate his sexuality to be. Most people assume Gay since... ya know. And while I don't think that's necessarily a bad take, its the popular take. And I am one who tends to shy away from popular takes. (I am also one to vehemently project onto the characters I love). Hence, I HC Taka as Demiromantic! (and demisexual to an extent...)

Forms strong emotional bonds with people close to him? Check. Only ever seems to fall romantically for those he is extremely close with??? DOuble check babeyyy!

Gender Headcanon:

Aaaand now its simple. Taka's a male. Cut and dry. Rather fondly a guy, I must say. He strikes me as the kinda guy who would be so excited to share with you that he uses he/him pronouns! He probably did some soul searching when he first learned of transitioning and other gender orientations only to find he was rather comfortable and happy where he was. (you know he spent hours studying to learn all he could) and would be all for helping others explore their gender too!

I know a lot of people hc him and mondo both as trans, but personally I think hes just very proud of his manliness.

A ship I have with said character:

I couullddd go the easy route and say Ishimondo... But you all already know that. Instead I'm going to go with a more... scandalous... ship.

Its KiyoKiyo. Korekiyo and Kiyotaka. Its my guilty pleasure ship.

Now, granted, I imagine this as a Korekiyo who has shaken himself of his 'sister's' grasp and is "normal" (Ie LOTS of therapy), so its more like the shy introvert getting dragged along by the loud golden retriever boy but I digress. Its sweet to me. Tall lanky and smol but strong.

There are so many... who do I begin with... Genuinely who do I begin with. Alr I hardly see this one in the wild but Kokichi and Kiyotaka I despise. Either that's just because I hate kokichi but-- BESIDES THE POINT. Hiro and Taka is another one I don't particularly like.

I get where it comes from, the few times they interract in the canon could be seen as brotherly (I GUESS) from Hiro's standpoint but-- Idk it just kinda rubs me the wrong way. Hiro's character in general does that...

A Random Headcanon:

Taka enjoys, and is really good at boxing. (Or wrestling) Like how some stories I've read put him on the football (soccer for us americans) team (or rugby ig idk.) I have a (self-inflicted) HC that Taka has slight anger issues hes still recovering from as a child and ABSOLUTELY uses the environment of controlled violence as a way to work off pent up steam. Any sport could do that really, but the inherent homoeroticism of wrestling is just *mwah* too good to pass up.

I know people like to HC he's into some kind of martial arts lessons for the same kind of vibe, and the art of him and Peko, but I find the inante physicality of using yer fists and body as a much more... *Taka Centric* activity. Idk.

Its the same reason he really enjoys thrill rides like rollercoasters and horror movies (if he can stand to not postulate the entire plot the whole time, ruining climactic moments and making people shush him.)

Also ngl I do always love the idea of Cassie and Marco having a fling post-war. This isn't exactly an otp but the idea of them becoming best friends that only ever get like a few minutes alone together every few months for a few years, and yet they get each other. It's just. It's very good.

Cassie and Aftran should have been girlfriends for a while. One is a whale, the other can be a whale for 2 hours. It's perfect.

How she clung tooth and fucking nail to her morals. How she saw the easy ways out "they're bad so we are justified in anything we do to them" and continued to hold the line to what she would allow, no matter how much opposition was thrown her way.

8. Thing that gives me second hand embarrassment for this character

NICE IS NEAT. Also every goddamn interraction between her and Jake in the early books. They sat beside each other on the bus and didn't say a SINGLE word and they're both buzzing about the "close contact". Oh my god. So embarrassing.

Also she wears poopy boots to school. Cassie.... babygirl.... you can have nice shoes to wear to school, and your work boots for home.

9. Cinnamon roll or problematic fav?

All the Animorphs kids are my cinnamon rolls, obvi. I should also add that when these books were originally coming out I wanted to be Cassie so badly it hurt. I adore her. She's everything.

So I think I'd call Cassie a problematic fav primarily bc she single-handedly made the gamble that could have lost the war based on her personal morals (not letting Jake murder his brother). And while I respect the hell out of her for it, and things technically worked out in the end, it could have been the moment they lost everything.

Yes, homie! What I love about them: At first Astral was just a nice eye-candy for me. I love his eyes the most (I think animators did too). He expressed so much by just staring. I was at one point fascinated by Astral being so different even compared to other people in Astral world. I do dig the fact, that even though you spent a lot of time with him in a show, but he's still left mysterious. Like, he's an embasador, but his powers are quite something else. He's cold and calculative and very smrt. I do like smart people, they fascinate me with big smart words, I guess. His character growth is pretty nice and I do like that he knows how to pull certain strings. Be that in the begginig with opposite game or at the end. A big brain move, in my opinion, knowing that Yuma seemed tired of dueling and in no way would agreed to another one. So yeah, I WILL ERASE BARIAN WORLD, so lets duel. He left him with no room for a "no". Is it mean? Hell yeah. But that's a part of him being a calculative smart ass. What I hate about them: Honestly, the inconsistency of "the number bestowed a knowledge to him about human world" stuff. It felt a bit random. I know its canonical, but it's just personal pet-peeve Favorite Moment/Quote: *Slaps entire Zexal anime* From the sub: -What does Astral says about it? -I think Yuma is an idiot What I would like to see more focus on: On Astral's past, honestly. Because Astral is ambiguous being and more of a "following rules' kind of ghost. I can see Mist starting shit and Astral would had to deal with that. Yet they both enjoy this still. Mist would appreciate his back cowered and Astral would just love the "lively" attitude and being on edge, A thrill that he misses. I do like my ship too c: Favorite friendship: Also with Yuma. Their interraction about "takoyaki" will forever stay as BEST represantation of how my two last braincells interract XD And they do give out an impression of having fun together. They do genuinely care. NOTP: The random ones. Because this fandom slaps people together even if makes no sense. I guess one of them is Tori and Astral. Mostly because it just makes no sense to me. They spoken ONCE. Favorite headcanon: Astral is a ethereal robot\weapon. Obviously he's not a human and he's not of a human's soul origin. He was made for a specific thing. So he's learning AI kinda deal, only in a form of a higher state of... soul thing. That's probably why chaos is deadly to him - because he never was a human to house one.

The curse of the Stone Mask:

Warning: angst, no comfort, slight gore, fem!reader, a bit rushed, my first writing, bad Italian

Word count: 816

Transalation: tesoro - treasure, mia cara - my dear, anima mia - my soul

You were only a cabin girl when you met your captains son, Will Anthonio Zeppeli, who you became fast friends with (and a small crush too) because you two were the same age. At the age of 20, Will’s father decided to travel to Mexico to visit an Aztec ruin. You, being the self volunteerd chef too, of course were brought along. Inside said ruins was a mysterious Stone Mask. Turns out it was exacly what the Zeppeli family was looking for, though you didn’t understand why it was so important. It was nothing but an old relic, right?

After getting the mask, Will helped you putting the crates on dock. It was still early so you were a bit sleepy. "Thanks Will, I’m not sure how long this would have took without you" you said, smiling at him. He blushed slightly, thinking about how cute your smile is, but quickly replied. "Do not worry Mia cara, I’m always eager the help such beautiful lady out" he said charmingly. You didn’t reply, but instead bashfully looked away while your face rivaled a tomato. The boys father watched the interraction between his son and the cabin girl with a smile on his face. He shlightly shook his head, then disappeared in his cabin.

 

The sky was clear for a while, but then it slowly got darker until it began to heavily rain. Thunders roared in the distance and the harsh waves rocked the ship. One of the crew members yelled for you. "Oi! Cabin girl! Get the captain, we need all the people on the ship to keep us steady! Hurry up, girl!"

 

You did as you were told, and went to look for the older Zeppeli. You eventually found him, his back facing you with a bloody blade in hand. "Captain! Captain, we need up deck! Please, come quickly!" after saying that, you noticed the blade in his hand. "S-sir are you okay?" you asked in a worrisome tone. When he turned to face you, the Stone Mask was on his face covered in blood. Now that the faint light of the candles reached his skin, you noticed how pale it was.

Before you could comment on it, he went to attack you, but you were able to escape just in time, with a scrached arm. You ran back on deck while screaming for help, clutching your bloody wound.

"The captain! Something is wrong with Mr. Zeppeli! He’s acting insane!" you shouted panically.

Some of the adults immediatly went to see what happend to their captain, while you ran to the younger Zeppeli in tears, throwing yourself in his arms.

"Y/n! Tesoro, what on earth are you talking about?" Asked the young boy being concerned for you and for  his father. "I-" Before you could begin to explain you were interrupted by the crew members scream, who were standing at the opening of the lower level of the ship. Before anyone could do anything, a dark figure slaughteted the crew members. Blood was covered the whole deck, and you uncontrollably sobbed at the sight, the metallic scent of blood invading your senses.

 

While the monster was busy with his former men, you and Will dived in to the water in order to save your life. The former captain finished off all the 58 members of the ship and went after you two. Will was desperatly trying to hold you up and shield you from any attack. Both of you were terrified, but fortunatly for you the Sun began to rise, burning away your dear friends father. Will started crying, and cursed the mask for it’s inhuman power, swearing to destroy it.

 

After that fateful day, you and Will found love in each others comfort, and decided to marry one another. But the events from all those years ago won’t leave the Barons mind. He knew that in order to fulfill his promise he had to leave for an unknown amount of time.

 

"Y/n, mia cara, I hope that one day you will find it in yourself to forgive me, but I have to go. The mask can not get in the wrong hands." he explaind in a sorrowful tone, squeezing your hands. On one hand you underdtood your husbands reasoning, but on the other hand you were worried that he won’t come back to you and your son.

 

"Love, please, forget about that dammned mask! You can’t just leave us here...you’re not going to...right?" you asked with teary eyes and quivering words. The brown haired man looked at you with a saddened gaze, but then quickly answered you. "Don’t worry anima mia, I will do everything in my power to come back to you." he assured you, not knowing about his fortune that he will learn about throughout his journey.

Years passed and your husband still hasn’t came home.

This past weekend I had the priviledge of travelling to New York City to see Paul Bettany in The Collaboration on Broadway. I had attempted to get to London earlier in the year to see it, but could not get the time off work approved. I was dissapointed, but then a convention only a few hours from where I live announced Paul was coming as a guest and I was thrilled...until he had to cancel his appearance to work on the film adaptation of The Collaboration. Third time really does seem to be charm, and my Christmas gift from my parents was a play ticket and help paying the travel expenses. The weekend was made even more special because I got to spend time with my friends @redpandaseas and @argonaughtt!

I really loved the play. My seat ended up being basically 1st row (there was a row of chairs in front of me which I believe are the house seats, and they were mostly empty), and on the side where Paul spent a good portion of the play. He’s a joy to watch, I wish I could put into words what it was like for those 2 hours. I can only imagine how fun seeing him filming the early episodes of WandaVision would be based on this experience. His costar Jeremy Pope was fantastic as well, and I was captivated from beginning to end.

It also felt very fitting that is was how I finally ended up seeing Paul in person, since one of the plot points of the play is Andy Warhol painting again for the first time in years. I’m not sure how much I’ve talked about it on this blog, but Paul is the reason I started doing art again after almost a decade - I was so inspired by WandaVision I wanted to try painting something for it. A year later I’ve created over 60 pieces, and in doing so found friendship and community and reclaimed a part of myself I thought was gone.

I didn’t get any extended interraction with Mr. Bettany, but I never expected that. Still, the brief moment meant a lot. I had gone to the theater early to ensure I knew where it was and was able to catch him going inside. He was patient while I got my camera pulled up and took the photo even though security was trying to drag him into the theater to get ready. We decided to hang around after to see if he would sign Playbills at the stage door, and were successful! Once again he was being ushered away by his security, but did his best to sign as many as he could and paused for another photo with my friend who did not get one in the morning. 

A lot of people who know me now assume Paul is my favorite because of Vision - that’s not the case. Paul has been one of my favorite actors since A Knights Tale came out and I saw it back in 2001 or 2002, and I’ve been following his career closely ever since. When WandaVision came out I was burned out on the MCU but wanted to watch it for him...and here we are today. Truely a moment 20 years in the making and I will cherish those brief seconds forever.
