I gave daisy curly hair because tree hugger's design makes it look like she has wicks or some other black hairstyle and that leads me to believe she may be black. Anyway...daisy's special talent is grooming animals and i imagine she probably smokes weed in her spare time

Hailey - applejack x rainbow dash

In all honesty, i'm not really too invested in shipping in the MLP fandom though considering how it's implied RD and AJ got married in the series finale i decided to keep that with my next gen because i feel it makes sense. I chose the name "hailey" for this character for a multitude of reasons: 1. That's the name i chose for ALL my rainbow dash next gen kids ever since i was twelve, 2. It's a pun on "hail" as in the weather condition and 3. "Hailey" just SOUNDS like it could be a farm girl name. Basically hailey's thing is that she earned her cutie mark after getting bit by a vampire fruit bat as a child and therefore has a pair of bat wings. Personality-wise she's pretty much your typical "manic pixie dream girl" type (ramona flowers from scott pilgrim immediantly comes to mind, i've never read those books and i'm just going off of what i've heard)

Pastel dream - twilight sparkle x flash sentry

I admit this is a bit of a generic choice but tbh this was one of the first ships i EVER had so i feel it deserves a place in my next gen. Basically twilight and flash got married though their marriage didn't last very long and they got divorced a few years after pastel was born and twilight eventually got with big mac, pastel was very fucking angsty about having a new stepdad and only really calmed down after her little sister lavender was born. She's emo and also believes in aliens, her special talent is interpreting dreams (also, yes i know she doesn't really look THAT much like her parents. I'm just kinda tired of people ALWAYS making their flashlight fankids straight up just twilight but orange and i wanted to do something different)

Lavender web - twilight sparkle x big mac

Yeah i only really put this ship here because of the semi-infamous fanfic "the spiderses" and her personality is no different, this lass just LOVES her some spiders.

Rosemary - rarity x braeburn

This was actually the very first MLP ship i ever got into! At the time, i hadn't watched the episode braeburn was in and didn't know he was basically male applejack. 8-year-old me just saw him in the gameloft app and thought "wow that's one handsome horse! I must ship him with rarity because she's my favorite character!" So i put the ship into my next gen because of how much sentimental value i have for it. Anyways....i imagine rose to be somewhat of a "southern belle" type, her special talent is writing romance fiction and she's got the flirty nature to match! She's slightly inspired by blanche from the golden girls, i do admit.

Chocomint ice - pinkie pie x minty

To be honest....i only really added this ship in because of how often they're shipped in G3. I don't really have much to say about her other than she's based on the song "aoi-chan is going to eat chocomint no matter what" (bit of a mouthful of a song title but y'know...it's a japanese song so it's probably much shorter in the original language lol) also her bangs are modeled after the titular aoi-chan in the song's music video

i've been trying to get back into TS3 as well lately and, like you, i find it hard to not get bogged down in the customization. do you have any tips for picking colors and patterns and making things look nice without agonizing over every little decision? any good preset color/pattern swatches i should have in my repertoire?

tbh I just eyeball colors, cause after years of doing digital illustration I have an idea for what exact shade of each color I like the most lol

although after I pick out my favorite colors I save them as a preset and just always use that one without a second thought, like every single sim I make has the exact same shade of brown eyes & black hair pretty much :P

outside of that, I use a lot of self-imposed constraints

like if I want something to be a certain texture/material (metal, linen, leather, etc.), I will take some extra time hashing out the perfect pattern & color combo for that instance - then when I save it as a preset, my rule is that's the only pattern I'm allowed to use for anything of that texture/material lol

for example when I made a medieval sim, I created a preset for rough linen, and saved it in a light cream/beige color & a darker brown color, then I used those 2 presets for every piece of all her clothing:

I also used only those 2 presets to customize her furniture. although I only actually added 2 pieces of furniture to her house, as another way I avoid focusing too much on details is using pre-built/pre-furnished lots.

I also love making sims tied to a very specific theme, so I still let myself have fun with patterns in the beginning, but only that time lol

so far since I started playing again, these are all the custom pattern presets I've saved:

• linens for the medieval sim from above

• metals for SimBots / Into the Future

• cow spots for when I realized SimBots could be other patterns lol

• snakeskin & copper for this sim

• pastel florals & pinstripes for this sim

Helloo, I’ve never asked anything before but my curiosity is absolutely killing me lmao.. did you have an inspiration for the kimono reader is wearing in something (just like this)? It sounds so intricate and pretty so I was just wondering ◡̈ I rly love the story btw you’re one of my favorite writers

omg okay so—i collect a magazine called kimono hime!! it’s out of print now im pretty sure (???) but it’s basically like a fashion mag with varying kimonos and yukatas and furisodes in all sorts of amazing prints, like, really contemporary stuff!

it’s such a beautiful magazine if you’re into fashion or design or are a weeb (me).

but as for Reader’s summer fit, there’s no real one-for-one inspo for it. 🥺 i kinda just took my cue from the issues of kimono hime and the designers within it—and tried to think up something fun! black and white stripes seemed fun because a) they were bold and b) could conceivably be imagined on a range of skin tones (like—i personally love wearing pastels and dusky pinks, but one of my besties is quite pale and can’t wear the same shades because it washes her out, so i thought we needed something that could maybe cover more ground than like “you’re wearing a green yukata” or whatever). i love roses, and tiny teeny spiders hiding among them seemed like a nice contrast (and also meant i could have our cool-guy kimono seller make his “you look like someone who’s a mix of both worlds” remark, because like, who among us doesn’t hold conflicting qualities? something pretty, something more repellent unless you really like spiders ig so then it’s like, something pretty and something cool LOL).

when i was on insta i was following a japanese designer who had these amazing patterns for kimonos and things, like, vintage cat faces on the obis and stuff so i knew when giving Reader one we could get away with like, something really neat—so the toads, snakes, roses and diamonds that’s meant to be on it is a nod to one of my favourite fairytales! tbh it’s mostly a little textual inside joke with myself, because the fairytale is about a pair of sisters who are each blessed and cursed by a fairy; the sister that treated the fairy sweetly is blessed so that when she speaks diamonds and precious jewels and flowers fall out of her mouth with her words. the sister that treated the fairy cruelly is cursed—so that it’s snakes and toads instead. it’s the same sort of line of thinking as the “mix of both worlds” comment: it’s the idea that Reader (like us all) is capable of saying both kind and cruel things. 🐍💎🌹🐸

it’s hard trying to come up with outfits in a reader-insert fic! and look, not everyone is going to be happy. but i did do a lil faux-kimono hime mock up, to show the general vibes of what i was going for with Reader’s fit. maybe with more roses though??? hmmm hmmm hmmm.

what made you pick up the muse you have ? : my friend typecasted my muse type when the victims concept art was announced. just immediately pointed out the horror jock like yep. that'll be the one u like. and then i played the tcsm beta back in may me and rae started wildly theorycrafting.... and well my demons have been winning since. i love a jock who is kind of fail but trying his best like you got me there.

is there anything you really enjoy writing ? : i'm a creep i'm a weirdo i love exploring horror and the many themes that can coexist in it. ig i like to kind of examine trauma and the healing process through the lens of the slasher genre, as well as where horror and love coincide as themes. i think there is underrepresentation in just....... letting slasher final kids have some kind of healing arc, or letting their story continue in general? seeing them before and after the things that happen to them? and i can't always do it but i do also like to kind of dive down into slasher horror and light gore and just practicing writing dynamic action scenes and what a character's thought process is like during those kinds of moments. i love an opportunity to be mean to my blorbo

is there anything you don't like to write ? : probably just anything needlessly like... melodramatic between characters? i have no interest in plots like genuine jealousy and love triangles and interpersonal shit like that, mostly because i write horror and there are so many more interesting things to focus on imo? and because not enough slasher content casts seem like they actually care about each other lmaooo. is this a callout post about gun.'s take on the friend group? perhaps.

how do you come up with your headcanons ? : dude i just receive the prophecies and act like im on twitter tossing my every stupid thought into the void.

do you write in silence or listen to music ? : tbh i usually write either in silence or in a deranged third way (writing between games of overwatch) my adhd sometimes demands that i am doing several things at the same time and sometimes i can sit down at the coffee shop put on some instrumentals and just slam some replies in

Okay, okay, so... Following your rules, I would like to me matched up with a male One Piece character, if that's alright! My pronouns are she/her and I'm CIShet. As for my personality, I'm very shy at first, but as soon as I realise that the person I'm with is not a threat, I start opening up bit by bit. Once I start warming up to them I become more talkative. I have a very low social battery, so after a while I may go quiet and answer with sounds and/or short sentences-not because I'm upset or anything, but because I need a nap or at least spend some time alone. Still, I always do my best to contribute to conversations and I'm fine with being a listener. I guess it goes without saying that I am a very calm person and while I'm up to almost everything if asked, I'd rather spend time doing activities that don't involve too much socializing due to my anxiety. I am fairly polite and warm even if I'm an introvert because I live by the "Treat people like you want to be treated" motto.

As for the way dress, I always go for something cute. I like dressing up, but not over the top. The real beauty for me lies in simplicty. Most of the time I wear either a dress or a skirt with a sweater when the weather allows me to. I specially like wearing pastel/earth tones. More superficial stuff about myself is that I'm around 4'11ft, kinda chubby and my facial features are often described as "soft" (I'm about as threatening as a hamster, lol). The thing that has been complimented the most about myself is my voice. Some have labeled it as soothing-and, talking about my voice, I'm often asked to speak up because I hate raising my voice

My hobbies are nothing special, tbh. I play videogames, watch shows/movies, sometimes I sing even if I'm not too confident on my voice and I am overall a huge nerd.

Surprisingly enough, I think my love language would be physical touch (though I always mind boundries). It's weird because I don't receive physical affection often, yet when I do I always feel giddy (fun way to say I'm touch starved). My type are guys who like to take the lead since I don't have much iniciative, specially those who stand up for me because I'm the "I asked for something else, but this is nice too so it's okay" kinda gal in every situation. Other general information about myself is that I am easely overwhelmed by loud noises and bright lights to the point that my head starts hurting if I'm exposed to those for too long. I love your art style so much - just saw from one of your tags that you use procreate - I honestly thought you use paper from the wonderful textures you create! I’d love to hear anything you want to share about your digital drawing techniques, brushes etc.

yes I 99% use procreate now, *sometimes* I still do draw on paper though, I love pencils a lot and always will <33

SO, tbh the apple pencil + a nice textured screen protector go a long way toward preserving that “drawing on paper” feeling w/ digital art, but I’ll walk you through my (pretty simple) process anyway: I usually make the bottom-most layer a “paper” layer, set at a pretty low opacity so my background color can come through. you can use any old photo as your texture layer, I think I just googled “free paper textures” lol.

and as far as brushes go, I really mostly just use one brush! it was a free download with my paperlike screen protector, called “Stef’s pencil,” it’s just a kinda soft pencil brush that I use for pretty much everything—lineart, coloring/painting, even erasing. I have a lot of experience using soft pastels irl, and this brush really reminds me of that texture, so as much as I try to branch out and experiment with other brushes, it will probably always be my favorite :)

I'm hate-watching bridgerton as usual (hate is too strong a word perhaps, annoyance-watching. I admit it's entertaining in a trashy way lol) and here are my thoughts so far

I hate Colin lol. Idk why they had to make him into a smug womaniser for him to be hot but he's just annoying to me. It doesn't help that I don't find that actor attractive personally, but I just find him a thoroughly unappealing character tbh

Constant prostitute scenes are unnecessary. What is this, game of thrones? Sorry but I don't find a man paying for two unnamed women to have sex in front of him because he's too conflicted to join in sexy

Eloise continues to be best character, best Bridgerton (followed by Benedict), best everything. She can do no wrong in my eyes basically, even when she does wrong. Sad that she has lost interest in feminism but that will hopefully be fixed. Hopefully. :( there is like a weirdly... unquestioned misogyny to this show if I'm honest. The reason I like Eloise (apart from the actress just being charismatic) is because she's the only one who has AT ALL a problem with any of it lol

Ridiculous that there is no gay Bridgerton (or even character); I thought initially this would be Benedict but turns out he's into Cool Balloon Lady. Now I think there is some hope for Eloise and Cressida (whom I also like) maybe? please? I feel like I'm seeing hints but then I also thought they were there with Benedict

Speaking of Benedict I don't care about Cool Balloon Lady and his thing in the first season with the secret art bohemians club was better. I think I'm just desperate for anyone to break out of the frippery of high society that I just latch onto the characters that do so even slightly lol

Last season I also thought Eloise might have some kind of cross-class forbidden romance with that boy from the printer's– which would have had the added effect of having One Fucking Working-class Character in the Entire Thing. (Though I'll more than happily accept Cressida as a substitute)

Speaking of which, they elevated two of the THREE non-aristocratic characters into the aristocracy this season. Woohoo. I feel like they just didn't know what to do with those characters because anything outside high society is boring to whoever writes this show

I used to not like Penelope much tbh but I like her more this season. I also find Vegetarian Man very pleasant and she should just marry him because he's better than Colin. Though this is probably because if I was in the regency era I'd be all over the idea of a nature-loving guy who leaves me to my business months out of the year lol.

I didn't like Penelope's first "sexy new look" at all- the dark green one- but the subsequent ones are better. Also the makeup for that look was way too much, Nicola Coughlan has a naturally cherubic face with soft colouring and she looks better in pastel tones. Although I wish they'd try something other than that exact same shade of pale green, even though it is a good colour on her. She'd look great in light blue, for instance

my predictions for today’s trailer

okay so this season’s road map confirmed we would get one sdx drop, one stuff pack and four kits between january- april. we’ve already gotten the sdx (vitiligo!!!) and the castle and goth kits. that leaves a stuff pack and two kits - here are my predictions, check back later to see if i got any right lol

stuff pack: if ea is announcing a stuff pack my guess is it will be a fashion, walk in closet, stylist, glam room type of pack. think vintage glamour vanity and whatever luxury party stuff tried to do. or maybe a diy/jewelry making stuff with expanded gameplay with crystals/collectibles, maybe sell your own jewelry on plopsy. i would love a new hobby for my sims and paranormal is somehow a stuff pack and has a career and amazing cas and bb, so it’s not off the table they will aim for that again. home chef hustle also came with gameplay - so i’m hoping for this

cas kit: this will be a collab kit which is great news bc all of my favorite kits are collabs (pastel pop, first fits, incheon arrivals etc). there are a lot of jewelry pieces in the promo shots - and wow we really need more/better jewelry and makeup. i would be SO happy if ea and a makeup guru/brand did a collab bc let’s face it, ea themselves can not make good (or even, decent) looking makeup. the mac collab is SO BAD and i can’t believe mac signed off on it. what. are. those. textures. we need better and we need more. i have an approximately six weeks of a 3d design course experience but i can at least make a line that’s not jagged????? and for the love of good lower the opacity and t r y to make it look like it’s actually on the sims’ face and not a smudge on my screen

bb kit: literally no clue. i hope the vanity/walk in closet idea above will be a stuff pack bc i would love a hobby, a new crafting machine - just more gameplay in general lol. i guess it could be watered down to a kit too do idk

well for ones i know how to play- well i used to know how to play anyways- i played the clarinet in band! n at some point i got an ocarina n tried learning that but never worked on it much. i used to be able to play a couple little tunes on it tho (like the jigglypuff song from the pokemon anime. or part of it at least). someday ill get back to it...

for my fave instruments... id probably say the violin and piano. i really love the sound of them, and i like how much emotion they can evoke!
