Close to redoing my SunClan and MoonClan lore rn. Like to the point that I wanna change the -star suffix to -sun and -moon for each Clan respectively and fuck with medicine cats.
#i like the idea of the leaders taking the more spiritual parts of the medicine cat roles!#kind of like the seers in my alaska clans#this would mean deputies would be chosen very carefully#leaders must speak with their elders and starclan before choosing a new deputy :)#i love my fanclans lol#rambling

while im looking thru my old unfinished art, happy pride month to my two gay kitties from the warriors oc fanfic i was writing back in 2017-2018. featuring skystar's boyfriend who would show up later in the fic which i never got to write far enough to feature him. lol
#art is also from 2018 .#main reason i didnt finish it is. as you can probably see. the background was a huge massive landscape thing#which i. did not have the patience nor skill for#and i guess instead of scaling it back i just . like. gave up on it LOL#brot posts#wips#sometimes i still fantasize about picking that story back up and finishing it..................#also whenever i rarely mention this guy i always have to preface it. i made this oc back in middle school like a year before#dawn of the clans even started publishing at all#and so i named him skystar all on his own i did not know of any skystar in canon#i mean logically i should have known if theres a skyclan and all clan founders were [clan-prefix]star then like.#logically there would be a skystar#but i was using fanclans and i loved the name sky- as a prefix and i also was a stickler for name rules#which included not ever ever using a clan name as a prefix#so i had fanclans and skyclan was not one of them THEREFORE sky as a prefix was free fucking reign baby#and then. as one does. i made him leader#his warrior name was skystorm though which i still think is baller#anyway and his boyfriend (on the left) is named Bluebell#former kittypet who keeps his kittypet name#largely also bc i have a pet peeve where i hate two-syllable prefixes#but as i was trying to write the fic in 2018 years after when i first made these characters in middle school#i think i was trying to workshop bluebell's name cuz i wasnt entirely thrilled with it#bluebell as a whole is not very developed bc i really havent touched him much at all since middle school#since. yknow. i never got to the point in the story where he first appears during my 2018 fic.............. lol#hell where i left off in that fic skystar is still just skypaw

Some avatar oc drawings-me nd my friends couple we made for frontiers
<Trying to figure out tumblr lol>
———>
A bit of context
My character is the woman in dreads, her name is ok’ewi and she was a sarentu taken and raised in TAP.
Being the second oldest she held a lot of responsibility, and is personified as a woman with a very big heart, and an even bigger smile. She holds a lot of inner resentment towards humans, but veils it as she realizes not all of them are bad. But they all irl her just a tad
—>
Her (future) mate, a <fanclan> male named zäkap from the zaewewal clan -> he is a transgender male, and thinks he is the last standing member of his clan, of which got wiped out because of the burning of his clan’s territory. He holds a lot of inner resentment, but is a sweet fellow who just wants to be loved.
Im still figuring out how to draw the both of them, but i love doing so at least on paper! And theres a lot more detail but im worried of like..doing too much just for my first post here..

i wonder if you have made any warrior cat ocs (i remember my first warriors oc was a white cat who was cloudtail's long lost kittypet relative who travels to the lake to try to find him after the forest was destroyed💀😭)
Honestly that’s a pretty good first OC. My first OC was Riverpaw (ultimately Riversong) and she was just the ultimate Mary Sue lol. She was a medicine cat, the daughter of the leader and deputy, and on her very first trip to the moonstone equivalent (it was a fanclan she was in as well, the two clans were originally founded by displaced SkyClan cats who got separated when SkyClan left the forest) she got a super important prophecy. Ultimately her romance with a tom from the rival clan is what unites the two clans into one after basically BloodClan wipes most of both clans out and because she was chosen by StarClan to be in love she was allowed to have kits 💀
Nowadays Talonstar and Ravenstar are the OCs that live in my head rent free, I have more but they’re my favourites. They’re basically warrior cats fox and the hound but I am very fond of them despite their derivative nature lol. Ravenstar is a RiverClan cat found as a kit and taken in because they think StarClan led them to him and has it drilled into him he has to be exceptional in order just to be accepted, so he becomes leader even though it’s a position he never wanted, while Talonstar was born and raised in ThunderClan and always dreamed of being leader. They met as apprentices and became best friends. Shortly after Ravenstar becomes leader there’s a drought, and prove himself as “strong” and to be accepted fully as his clan’s new leader Ravenstar goes back on his promise to Talonstar and takes the sunningrocks by force. Talonstar retaliates which leads to the two confronting, during which Ravenstar loses an eye and Talonstar losing a life. The relationship never recovers and ultimately Talonstar takes Ravenstar’s final life during a battle over sunningrocks. Talonstar is overcome with remorse and spends the rest of his days a shell of himself, lost to guilt and grief.
I think all of my current warriors OCs I’m invested in live in the same reality and time as Talonstar and Ravenstar and are involved in their story lol.

YOUR FANCLANS ARE SO COOL!!!! i cant wait to see more of them omg! could you share some more on the clairvoyants/prophets and their pilgrimages up the mountain? :o also, did you have anywhere specific in colorado in mind when mapping? it looks gorgeous! and i love the landmark names omg, how'd you come up with those? sorry for all the questions im just very excited about these guys!
YAY thank you so much that means a ton! you're enabling my infodumping I'm about to write 1500 words (serious). Don't ever worry about asking too many ST questions it's all i think about.
Here's a MSPAINT doodle of the girls. hope nothing bad ever happens to them
easy questions first!
ST's set in the northern Colorado Rockies where they border the Great Plains. Somewhere unpopulated in the northern Front Range!
Landmark names are usually named after past leaders/healers/deputies of the Clans, who I just made up on the spot (except I have a Blizzard playthrough on Clangen so I used some of those leaders and important cats.) To come up with a lot of the names I researched local fauna. Colorado has a LOT of elk and a lot of large carnivores! Summer Thunder has a storm motif (did you know) so a lot of the place names have to do with that
I'm going to go ahead and put the Clairvoyant/Prophet stuff under a cut because I write headcanons as I go and it gets so lengthy lol.
SORRY IN ADVANCE. this is like 3/4 just for me so i can put it in my document
Clairvoyants are the cats who would have "a strong connection to StarClan" in canon text. StarClan (usually called the Stars in-universe) are not an explicit thing or confirmed. There is something spiritual going on, but it's a lot more like a Primal Force than it is "My Dead Aunt Says Hello To Me In My Dreams." The technical name for cats who are tuned in to this spirituality is "Clairvoyants", though it's an ambiguous label and not something that ever puts cats into a group. Most cats aren't clairvoyant or are to a very low degree (this works since level of clairvoyance in any universe doesn't affect how much you believe in a higher power).
Prophets, a role found only in StormClan, are kind of like canon Medicine Cats except I separated the role into its composite Prophet and Healer. Some cats are both, in which case they'll call themselves whichever one makes more sense - usually Prophet because it's rarer and so it can feel closer to your identity. A Prophet is sort of like how Ancient Greek Oracles were. They are rare and usually have a medium to extremely high level of Clairvoyance. (ex. Leafpool, Goosefeather.) Their role, like medcats, is to speak as the Stars' voice and share wisdom with the Clan. The Stars do not "give prophecies" in the literal sense that they do in canon - cats interpret things how they will, like we would in real life. It's easy to think of an omen or prophecy if you want to hear one.
Storm cats just take it really seriously because they REALLY love the Stars. They have a higher genetic predisposition of Clairvoyants, so they have become really connected to spirituality and piety. They believe in fate and destiny and will use the Stars to justify any achievement. Naming ceremonies often go like "You are so lucky to be blessed by the Stars with such amazing jumping skills - your new name will be Pigeonleap." (Maybe Pigeonleap just got really good at jumping because he trained for his entire apprenticeship. It doesn't matter. It's the Stars.)
Pilgrimages, which I may start calling something cool (like the Prophet's Ascent maybe?) are taken by aspiring Prophets when they want to prove their connection to the Stars. Prophets are usually apprenticed to someone who is also Clairvoyant/a Prophet or a Healer if there isn't one. When they reach the end of their apprenticeship they are sent to hike Cloud's Tooth via Thunder Ridge/Lightning Point. Usually their mentor will follow them as far as the path from the Ridge up to Lightning Point (I'm thinking this is like a day's hike), but the mentor in most cases has already done the hike and is not interested in doing it again.
Cloud's Tooth is tall (probably around 9-11,000ft???) and not too forgiving. Cats are sent when the weather is predicted to be good, but anyone who's been to the Rockies knows that can change in about five minutes. The Clans are crepuscular in my universe like regular cats, so, in the interest of safety, cats usually just try to hike the mountain during the day. It can be 7-9 hours to the summit. They spend the night at the top and the Stars speak to them (whatever that means for the particular cat.) No one else except Prophets hikes this mountain, not even people - it's rocky, without water in most places, and very windy. And slick when wet. And worse when snowy. And you'll notice all the surrounding landmarks have something to do with storms.
That being said - a cat who makes it up and down again is pretty much guaranteed the Prophet role. Otherwise, they probably just fell to Stardom down a scree slope.

Oh god, I haven't read books since Omen of the Stars. (I love fanclans/fanfics way more then the books anymore. lol) How have they messed up each clan since the first two arcs?! I know ThunderClan has too many cats and ShadowClan went leaderless or had leadership problems for some reason?? Also SkyClan is there now. Maybe. Again, haven't read the books in forever. (Is the current arc any good? Or better then Omen of the Stars at least?)
The current arc is good, I can promise you that Warriors has never been as slow or as boring as it got mid Po3 - early OotS. I have a lot of issues with AVoS but I would say that all of the modern arcs have been worth reading.
BEFORE WE START: Check out this Helpful Info on my process as I redux the family tree, it contains my Three Strict Rules, the Onestar's Exception, the definition of an Orphan Warrior, etc. Very, very important.
Each Clan has a unique family tree problem;
ThunderClan
The Frostfour (Brackenfur, Thornclaw, Brightheart, Cinderpelt) had THREE cats who were extremely prolific. The entire new generation traces back to them, completely and utterly eradicating genetic diversity.
The fresh bloodlines, from Daisy and Ferncloud, were nerfed so hard with pointless killings that there's no ability to fix modern ThunderClan. The ONLY cats who could save it (Finleap x Twigbranch, Stormcloud) have also been prevented from having kits by the narrative, which is incredibly frustrating.
And it doesn't stop there, because the writers for some reason were obsessed with tracking Firestar's lineage through Bramblesquirrel instead of Lionblaze. They wrenched out Squirrelflight's infertility issues so they could shove two kits into her, while also having Lionblaze produce 3 kittens who have kittens of their own.
It's an exponential problem which made Nightheart's ENTIRE ARC in ASC less serious, because half of the Clan is descended from Firestar while he somehow has 'especially high' expectations.
And the bloat. They keep killing off mildly interesting background characters while not building on the ones they have, so now the Clan is just full of nobodies who have done nothing.
ThunderClan is really bad, in canon.
ShadowClan
Link to Diagnosis
The entire family tree from the earlier arcs is dead. Rowanclaw's one of the few carry-overs. Snowbird specifically is the progenitor of half of the entire Clan, to the point where Sunbeam actually can't be shipped with a cat she isn't directly related to (unless you put her with Blazefire, her mentor, or her mentor's brother.)
SnowbirdClan is so profoundly fucked that I can't save it. I can reasonably fix the others, but ShadowClan is so irrevocably destroyed that I can't save it.
WindClan
Link to Diagnosis
In spite of being full of "Orphan Warriors" (cats without a single parent and usually without children) they still managed to inbreed Heathertail and Breezepelt.
Onestar canonically thinking about how cool inbreeding is in his Super Edition made me so uncomfortable that I made the Onestar's Exception rule on the spot-- an exception that makes Rule 1 (no first cousin pairings) even stricter by banning First-Cousin-Once-Removed as well when there are cats alive who are old enough to remember the great-grandparent.
But that aside, most of WindClan is Orphan Warriors.... MALE orphan warriors. They ran out of women, and then Shellfur stole the ONE clean girl out of WindClan for himself.
Which I must admit is VERY funny. But anyway, fixing this tree means blasting the Woman Beam at most of them.
SkyClan
Link to Diagnosis
THREE first cousin pairings :/ And they only had like 3 generations, come on, it should NOT have been this hard to not bungle this.
Most of the problem is Clovertail and her prolific litters... but also, SkyClan is almost as bad as ThunderClan in terms of bloat. Which is weird because it's not even bloated with all the interesting ex-kittypets from the SEs and SkyClan side content, it's just nobodies because SkyClan queens keep pumping out 3 and 4 kit litters for NO reason.
It was an easy fix though. So I guess I can't complain.
RiverClan
Link to Diagnosis
Missing Generation Fog that settled over RiverClan just after TNP LMAO. That's it that's the whole problem.
Really it's a problem for opening up TOO MANY possibilities, like which cats are Reedwhisker's children. Everyone litter works as Reedwhisker's kids. Reedwhisker is everyone's father. Reedwhisker is YOUR father.

Hiya! Recently I've been trying my hand at creating some FanClans. They're based in a setting inspired by the Taal Volcano and lake region in my native Philippines. Super super excited over developing it but also a tiny bit nervous! Could you perhaps give some insight/tips on how you developed ClayClan? I'd be really grateful if you did 🥹 I'm a tiny bit overwhelmed and don't know where to start.
P.S: here are some cool photos of Taal+some extra info below bc I'm a nerd and can't help myself lol
Where's the volcano, you may ask? The answer to that is: it's the lake you see in the photos! Basically Taal erupted so much in prehistoric times that the rock collapsed inward+downward into the empty magma chambers, forming a bowl shape (otherwise known as a caldera). It's also got like, a fuckton of vents and craters that it also erupts out of too sometimes. She's funky and I like her!
tldr volcanoes and cats r pretty neat :3
WOAH that's so cool!!! :0 This is awesome, thanks so much for sharing! I loooove seeing unique fanClans, it's such a versatile prompt. And a caldera is a GREAT setting! What a pretty one, too!
As for advice... I've been making fancontent for Warriors for a decade now, so a lot of it just comes naturally. I'll explain how I made ClayClan then give some tips I find helpful! And thank you for asking, I'm really flattered :]
(Info + tips below the cut to keep this from being a huge text wall!)
ClayClan started as a worldbuilding project to support a story I was tossing around in my head. At the time, this story was unnamed and followed Minkpaw, a new apprentice who joins the Clan and unravels a mystery.
At this point I only knew it was set in a swamp. I like taking reference from National Parks, so I started searching for Parks with swamps, and after some googling I found out Arcadia National Park has a ton of wetlands! So I started compiling a species list. As I worked I gradually switched the model region from Arcadia to a general Maine wetland, as this was more appealing to me.
Once I had that together, I started working on ClayClan's culture. This was largely a matter of tossing ideas at the wall and seeing what stuck! I wanted there to be a new rank between warriors & deputy, so I gave them captains. I like exploring religions unique from canon's StarClan, so I gave them the pantheon. I couldn't decide if I wanted their camp to be in the woods or by the lake, so I gave them two camps. Once I had down my base ideas, I just refined them until they felt complete, and since then I've been adding fun tidbits to my own liking.
As I worked, I realized that Pickerelstripe - a supporting character in the original story, as Minkpaw's mentor - was much more interesting to me than Minkpaw herself. So I decided to switch the story to her perspective, and it began developing into the Heart Rot that I love!
With this switch came a change in tone, as Heart Rot is much darker and more serious than my early plans. So I made some worldbuilding changes to fit! ClayClan's religion solidified, kepbon sculptures came into existence, that sort of thing. I'm still making tweaks here and there to tighten everything up.
Okay! Thanks for sticking with me through all of that, here's some random tips! :D
A good place to start is with location! I'm a total nerd about ecosystems, so I like to make my Clan territories as close to their real-world inspirations as possible. iNaturalist is a great reference for finding species in a specific area! Google is also your friend, and I've even used physical field guides in the past. It's a really fun process and enriches your knowledge of the real world - win-win!
Of course, not everyone's interested in this level of detail, and that's all good! I would, however, recommend having an idea of your Clan's territory and the types of animals/plants they regularly encounter. It can be a good springing-off point for worldbuilding! Take ClayClan's bobcat lore as an example, that came directly from wanting to do something cool with bobcats being in Maine.
Is this worldbuilding for a story? If so, what story are you trying to tell? Try and focus on worldbuilding that will affect the plot and see where it leads from there. For example, if your story focuses on family ties, you can explore how your fanClan views family!
Does your inspiration region have any interesting history? If so, you could try and tie it into your Clan's mythos! For example, the setting you've got makes me really curious about how your Clan views the caldera, and all its vents & craters. Do they believe the caldera has always been there? Do they have some lore about the ancient volcano? How do they rationalize the vents? There's lots to explore!
What do you want to see expanded on in Clan culture? The rank system, naming, religion, social structure, etc? Go ahead and change them to your liking, then see how that impacts the world! This is your Clan, after all, play with it how you'd like.
Focus on what's interesting to you! At the end of the day, this is your project, and you should enjoy working on it. If something doesn't interest you like it used to, you can take a break from it and find a different focus, or toss that part entirely and start over. Do what makes you happy!
I hope this is helpful! Sorry for rambling haha. Thank you so much for sharing your new Clan, I wish you the best of luck with developing it :] If you end up sharing any more on Tumblr feel free to send it to me, I'd love to see what you come up with! Have a great day/night!

Talioang'ri villagers have stereotypes about stuff...
(Just wrote a little thing about common things Kxayltirey na'vi from the Talioang'ri village in the outskirts of the tribe's lands might say or believe about other parts of Kxayl society. Their perceptions vary based on how they view the Centre Plateau cultural hegemony, their age, how much contact they've had with people outside of their own village etc.)
Think of your own country or region!
Different regions will have their own situations going on, and their own stereotypes about each other. Many stereotypes are just over-generalizations over a few people someone met or just legends / rumours etc. but are common things people may joke about. In Finland two halves of my heritage, Savonians and Ostrobothnians, got their own stereotypes too and I figured I wanted to emulate that.
Savonians are known as talkative but having very riddles-packed, implicit and indirect way to word things. We are called twisted corckscrew people whose expression has so many layers of irony and playing shit for a joke in it that our real feelings are veeery hard to find out. ;)
Ostrobothnians are known for being.... Braggy about our achievements and liking to show off, and for being prone to knife fights lol. Also for being very spiritual and tbh there are two kinds of spirituality to us, some stuff that seems more like recycled animistic faith recycled through Christianity and that'll make you very compassionate to living beings, OR horrific bigoted authoritarian Christianity I see people get major religious trauma from... (I was lucky that this wasn't the case with my family, - but it was my Ostrobothnian mother that influenced my spirituality in a way that was non-judgemental and compassionate.)
See how interesting little detail like this is in real life? I want to feel deeply how my Kxayltirey people would feel about themselves and each other, what a chat with some drinks with a Plateau direhorseman would be like, what discussing society with him might be like... How I'd see his life approach and little gestures etc. of the unspoken. How he goes about his daily life, why I might love him and his family a lot. etc.
So I love to dig deep into this kinda part, drawing from real life social dynamics and experiences.
For my fanclan, I think it's fun to explore the variety of perspectives my characters will have themselves, and hear from others around them depending on who you're asking.
A Central Plateau direhorseman, Outskirts Direhorseman, Outskirts-dweller moving into the Txe'lan'mo city of the centre plateau, a family from the outskirts insecure about their status in Txe'lan'mo, remaining Ikran people of the distant mountain villages, Talioang'ri villagers with their mixed cultural heritage between Gorge Foresters and Plateau people (Kxasi), elderly Talioang'ri villagers, Talioang'ri youth, higher class Txe'lan'mo citizen, the Tsahik's close cultish follower groups, the traveling Trader Class....
...All formerly mentioned are possible Kxayltirey people you might meet while visiting their area.
All of them will have very varied perspectives and understandings of who themselves and other people are.
Talioang'ri is a village in the partially forested Lower Plateau, where Kxasi is from. Their cultural heritage is very visibly an admixture of Gorge Forester and Plateau cultures, making them kinda oddballs deep into the upper plateau villages.
Here are some stereotypes they often have about other regions or themselves...
- Gorge Foresters - unknown and taboo, confusion about who exactly are they anyways. Old spoken knowledge says many Talioang'ri have Gorge Forest ancestry. Some believe it, some think it's a joke. The hairstyles originating from Gorge Forest culture among Talioang'ri villagers are considered either beloved heritage or out-of-fashion and "not stylish" depending on who's talking. Many youth in Talioang'ri choose Plateau style hairstyles instead, especially when moving there. Long dreads from the whole head type of styles are most common in older folk, and young folk keeping them are considered either eccentric, rebellious or old-fashioned depending on who you ask.
On the Plateau Talioang'ri mixed ancestry is considered simply common knowledge, but many Talioang'ri folk deny it out of shame since they too want to feel like proud Kxayl and not be associated with negative Gorge Forester stereotypes. So Talioang'ri folk moving to the Plateau often get backhanded remarks about "having to unlearn those Gorge Forest ways" or have stereotypes assumed about them, like being "simple" or prone to fighting, which is quite humiliating to deal with.
- Talioang'ri villagers may either admire or resent Plateau folk. Many consider the direhorseman and craftsman classes of the Plateau their comrades, and often join their culture themselves. More prejudiced villagers, especially older folk, resent all Plateau folk for being "hegemonious" culturally (everyone wants to be them now) and how the Plateau ruling class drains the ecosystems of the Outskirts regions (including Talioang'ri) and pushes Outskirts youth to move to the Centre, leaving many small villages dying out. Many Talioang'ri youth feel that their region is a dying backwater, and just want to go to the centre where most resources from the whole Kxayl region are taken...
- Some Talioang'ri villagers don't understand what's the difference between regular plateau folk and their ruling classes, or assume they're all basically one type of way. Some villagers who have visited the Txe'lan'mo city say that there is an obvious class difference going on in there and that the ruling class folk are oddly condescending and stuck-up, but the regular people are quite good comrades when you work with them and get to know them. Some of them will be prejudiced and insecure, though, and feel the need to put others down for being "new in the city".
- Many in Talioang'ri have never heard of the Ikran culture of the Floating Mountains, due to the systemic erasure of that identity by the plateau ruling class, and because the persevering ikra'vi villages are very far, far up and away from the centre hubs of Kxayl society. Some older folk know about them and talk about them sometimes, but almost no one is interested or curious about that. Most Kxayl anywhere simply don't get educated on this topic ever because it's somewhat hidden information.
- Talioang'ri view of themselves, when positive, takes great pride in their innovations as crafters and hunters in the varied Lower Plateau terrain, where you find a mosaic of both forested and open plains biomes. Kxasi is an example of someone really proud of where he comes from. Some others just feel shame to be from "some dying backwater".

hai everycat ^_^ you can call me squirrel or whatever else you choose. i'm a 23 year old cat that can draw. i made this bc my dormant 10 year old warriors fixation has come back more intense than ever lol
here i will mostly be posting my warriors designs, my project to make a realistic genetic family tree for warriors since im autistic about cat genetics, and my own fanclans and ocs. i have a fan story that's loosely based on the original series in plot only, but with a lot of tweaks to the way the clans work as a whole to improve them while also trying to keep them as true to the source lore as possible :3
i love retro/2000s era warrior cats a lot, and that'll probably show up in my art quite a bit.
full disclosure...ive only read up to oots. i have no idea what's going on in the newer series but maybe ill read them if i find the time. i like the original series and its prequel SEs the most (fun fact bluestars prophecy was the first warriors book i read lol)

i adore your alaska clans!!! its so neat to see their worldbuilding be fleshed out. my main fanclan project is set in acadia national park, its based off invasion of the body snatchers and involves a lot of creativity like sculpted clay, theater, etc. do your fanclans have stuff like that? what do denizens do for fun other than hunt/patrol? :o
Oughh that’s such a cool idea omg. I love stories that deal with like mimics and the uncanny and the doubt on who’s “real” and who you can trust. And Acadia is a beautiful location.
Honestly I still have a lot of specifics to work out about the clans’ functional/practical duties so I haven’t really fleshed out their recreational activities yet. I do know that they play a lot of games, and especially like gambling and games of chance. There’s a lot of crafting as well, especially in Stoneclan. They also have a local merchant who brews a cat-friendly equivalent to alcohol lol.
#love it when people combine warrior cats with horror i definitely think it’s underutilized#ask#anon

This was going to have a more formal introduction involving a drawing of the deceased cats that explained things, but yer man here is already exhausted so it'll come later.
Welcome to my Clan Gen challenge, in which I play the Warriors fan-game Clan Gen (which can be downloaded here) and draw my clan once every in-game year to see how the clan and its cats has changed over the course of its story. Clan Gen is a life sim, in which you have control over a clan of cats and help them survive against the whims of RNG every moon. The actual in-game cats don't have much in terms of personality and relationships so a lot of what I've written down for them is original. If you've played the game, you'd probably know that lol
So this is Strike, a clowder of cats named after the striking of waves. The founding members were sent dreams of a shooting star that leads them to their new home in the form of an old shipwreck.
The clowder had a trio of co-leaders in the very beginning; Coatidance, Fumblefreckle, and Kestrelwhisper. My game follows my fanclans' terms rather than the canon ones, so their afterlife is the Glory Star rather than StarClan and so on.
Fumblefreckle | male | 135 moons old | shameless / excellent mediator Fumblefreckle co-founded Strike with his friend, Coatidance; and his mate, Kestrelwhisper. However, Coatidance died not long after the group began to settle around an old shipwreck. She became the group’s spiritual guide, leading any future dead to the afterlife. Fumblefreckle was heartbroken, but things only became worse when Kestrelwhisper wandered off in the middle of the night and was found dead the next day. His death wasn’t seen as suspicious, as the clan’s herbalist supposed he had simply died of old age. Before Kestrelwhisper’s passing, Fumblefreckle was a much happier and bright cat but now has become rather distant. He tries to distract himself by keeping himself busy via mentoring, but hasn’t worked great. His age may also be causing him to make some. . .recent questionable choices with the recent apprentices. He sees Gravelspeck and Suncrawl almost like daughters he and Kestrelwhisper never had. He has mentored Cloudlight and Tawnyripple, and is currently the mentor of Shrubpaw. Bluesplash | female | 74 moons old | ambitious / great speaker The clan’s one and only herbalist. She is Cloudlight and Suncrawl’s mother, but she has always been more interested in healing over her kits. Despite this, she does get along with her daughter and the young warrior Snipleap. She has a small mutual crush on Randy, and also thinks Gravelspeck is cute. She is a little worried about the clan’s future as she hasn’t any any sign about obtaining an apprentice yet and Fumblefreckle still refuses to assign a co-leader moons after Kestrelwhisper’s death. Randy | male | 109 moons | bloodthirsty / good speaker Originally a kittypet, Randy wandered the Man village for most of his life and surprisingly keeps a good amount of friends. One of these friends, a fellow kittypet named Sprout, vanished one day and Randy went out to search for him. After asking around for while, he found out that Sprout had been seen with the new clan. Randy made his way there and found Sprout–now Halfsprout–, who was more than happy to see him. As they talked, neither of them noticed a fox was stalking them until it attacked. Halfsprout was fine, but Randy was left with a mangled tail. Halfsprout rushed him to Bluesplash, who sadly had to remove some of his tail. As he recovered, Randy realised that his age was quickly catching up to him and decided to stay in the clan. He also grew attached to Bluesplash while he was stuck in the medicine den. Once he recovered, Fumblefreckle offered to give him an apprentice which he accepted. He is the mentor of Scorchpaw.
Gravelspeck | female | 83 moons old | strange / good speaker A lady who couldn’t catch a break for most of this year, despite the nice beginning. She spent a lovely night with her best friend (and crush), Brownstripe–then watched a clanmate, the young Clayfeather, fall into an icy river and drown while out on patrol in the same moon. Then she lost Brownstripe the next moon while out on patrol when he became trapped in a Man-trap and was taken away. Gravelspeck believed that she was cursed and refused to go out on group patrols, fearing that something horrible would happen. She had been given Brownstripe’s apprentice, Snippaw–and they bonded over their shared loss. Thankfully, Brownstripe returned two moons later and is slowly able to convince Gravelspeck to patrol with him. There, he eventually confessed his feelings and they happily became mates. When a loner, overwhelmed with caring for their kits, asked the clan to take the kits in–Gravelspeck was quick to take them in. She is Snipleap’s former mentor.
Halfsprout | male | 66 moons | careful / good teacher Originally named Sprout, he lived happily with his owners in the nearby Man village. He kept mostly to himself, but he was good friends with the wandering Randy. However, Sprout has a weak immune system so he has spent a lot of time sick. This caused his owners too much time and energy, so when he fell sick with whitecough again–his owners decided to abandon him. He was left on the side of the road to fend for himself. Sprout chased after his owners’ dragon, screaming and catching the attention of a Strike patrol. He was accepted into the clan, but he still deeply misses his owners. He hasn’t done much other than attract Randy to the clan and fall ill a few more times.
Brownstripe | male | 55 moons old | calm / fantastic hunter While he is a great hunter, Brownstripe is otherwise a rather ordinary tom. He was captured and taken away in a Man-trap early in the year, but was released after being neutered. Before being taken, he had Snippaw as his apprentice and they didn’t get along well, as Snippaw loved to make fun of him and was generally disrespectful. He is very grateful to Gravelspeck for finishing Snippaw’s training in his absence. Speaking of Gravelspeck, he simply adores her. He had hoped they’d have kits together, so he was very frustrated when he realized he could not sire anymore. His frustration became worse when Gravelspeck very openly decided to take in the loner’s kits. Fumblefreckle saw this, so he appointed Lightpaw to him in hopes of bringing Brownstripe closer to his kits. He is the former mentor to Snipleap, and is currently Lightpaw’s mentor.
Suncrawl | female | 20 moons | loving / good hunter The clan’s (literal) golden warrior. She grew up alongside her brother Cloudlight, and Snipleap as the clan’s first apprentices. She was apprenticed under Kestrelwhisper, and spent a lot of her time with him and Fumblefreckle before the former’s passing. She reminds Fumblefreckle of Coatidance and spoils her. While both Cloudlight and Snipleap both deeply care about her, she doesn’t feel as strongly in return. In fact, she is rather shallow and entitled and likes her mother best. She objected to Tawnyripple getting an apprentice, as she thought that she or her mother were more capable.
Cloudlight | male | 20 moons | vengeful / good speaker Cloudlight is a grumpy young tom. He was mentored by Fumblefreckle, but he felt left out whenever his mentor spent time with Kestrelwhisper and Suncrawl. He loves his sister, but doesn’t understand why she seems to prefer their mother’s company when their mother hasn’t been the most affectionate towards them. As fresh warriors, he and his sister even chased a dog off clan territory together. Thankfully, he also has Snipleap and Tawnyripple as close friends. He stood up for Tawnyripple when the younger warrior was given an apprentice.
Snipleap | male | 18 moons old | righteous / great hunter Snipleap was more jovial when he was younger and always made fun of Brownstripe with Suncrawl. He would go to regret his actions when Brownstripe is taken by Man and sees how his new mentor, Gravelspeck, is effected by Brownstripe’s absence. He wished he had been given one of the new apprentices, but he stood up against Suncrawl and Bluesplash when they disagreed that Tawnyripple was capable of mentoring at such a young age. Tawnyripple | male | 13 moons old | fierce / great teacher Tawnyripple was the only kitten when the clan was founded, so he has spent most of life being babied by his clanmates. Fumblefreckle was his mentor when Kestrelwhisper died, so Tawnyripple spent a good chunk of his apprenticeship having to be trained by Cloudlight and Snipleap. In hopes of fixing his mistakes and helping Tawnyripple gain more respect with his clanmates, he gives the new warrior an apprentice; Deltapaw. This had the opposite reaction. Suncrawl and Bluesplash objected, but Snipleap and Cloudlight stood up for him. He is Deltapaw’s mentor. Lightpaw | female | 6 moons old | childish She, alongside her siblings, were born to a pair of loners. When they were 3 moons old, their father was struck down by a dragon while they were travelling for better hunting grounds. Their mother was quickly overwhelmed with caring for a full litter, so when she heard of Strike, she left them there. Lightpaw took her new home and family in her stride and quickly decided that she would someday become the next leader. She is highly competitive with her sister, Scorchpaw. Lightpaw is Brownstripe’s apprentice. Scorchpaw | female | 6 moons old | strange The strongest and rowdiest of her litter, Scorchpaw was close to her father before he died. She fell into a deep sadness in his passing, but has been processing her grief through competing against her sister, Lightpaw. Scorchpaw is Randy’s apprentice. Shrubpaw | female | 6 moons old | childish Shrubpaw was the most heartbroken when her mother left, and has become rather stand-offish towards her adopted parents. From what she’s seen of Fumblefreckle, she isn’t pleased that he chose himself to be her mentor. Shrubpaw is Fumblefreckle’s apprentice. Deltapaw | male | 6 moons old | strict Deltapaw believes himself to be the most mature out of his litter, but he very sorely misses his parents. He is trying to keep an aloof demeanour and pretends to not feel upset by Tawnyripple becoming his mentor. Deltapaw is Tawnyripple’s apprentice.

🍓 ?
Thank you for the ask!
🍓: How did you get into writing fanfiction?
My first dabble of fanfiction was in elementary school when I got super into Warrior cats lol. My friends and I made up fanclans and this whole elaborate interconnected storyline that I would type out onto a Word Doc and save in my own little folder on our family computer’s desktop.
I didn’t know that fanfiction was what we were writing until middle school when everyone got into One Direction fanfiction on Wattpad (I wasn’t very into it myself). However, I DID write Fruits Basket self-insert fanfiction which was arguably worse. I wanted to be in that world so badly that it was fulfilling a fantasy to write myself into the story.
Even at that time I didn’t read much fanfiction. I got into Voltron in high school and became OBSESSED with klance and that’s when I actually started to consume fanfiction and got into ao3. I wrote a single klance one shot that I quickly orphaned and that was the extent of my fanfiction writing experience up until 2022.
I was deep into my Haikyuu hyperfixation and watched When Harry Met Sally with my family when I thought “this would make a good premise for a sakuatsu fic…”
And thus I wrote 40k words over 4-5 days lol.
I recently reread It Had To Be You and I could definitely tell it was my first lol. I was in a deep state of hyperfixation for it and stayed up until like 3 AM every morning to finish chapters. I had taken the semester off of school at the time for academic reasons so I could afford to lose sleep over it.
Writing that first fic and seeing how many people enjoyed it was what really sparked my love of writing. It inspired me to write more and actually pursue this as a hobby and it’s only made my writing better! I’m very grateful for everyone that’s read anything I’ve written ❤️
ask game here
#kinda long but I figured I’d deep dive into jinx lore lol#thank you for the ask!!! it was fun to answer#jinx answers#jinx talks

Hi! Welcome to wc brainrot <3
This blog is dedicated to my fanclans - LeafClan and BoneClan
Heres some info about them!
LeafClan: honestly their dynamic is still a WIP. ive been fixating on boneclan lmao 👍 their leader and her deputy are Mousestar and her sister Featherear. both use she/her pronouns, and featherear is a lesbian :)
[picrew used here]
Boneclan: basically my love for vulture culture put into a warriors clan. they have consumed all of my thoughts thusfar. they have a very strong connection to death, and collect the bones of their prey, fallen cats, and other bones they can find (and transport) in general as a way to honor the deceased. they believe that connection to cats and the sun, moon, and stars gives them closer access to starclan, and thus they keep the bones close to them. if a cat is shunned from the clan and dies, they will bury the body or drop them a ways down the river they live near, as this hides them from starclan and traps their spirit in the place they were left. (occasionally, the clan will forgive what that cat had done, dig them up, and display their bones). they also wear bones (similar to bloodclan with their dog teeth and collars) to honor the dead and keep them close and their spirits alive. usually theyre worn when going out on patrol and during celebrations or times of importance, like when an apprentice becomes a warrior.
before i continue rambling about them lol, here is their leader - Sablestar, and the bones he wears are the previous leaders skull (as a "hat") and tail vertebrae he can attach to his own tail. hes nonbinary and uses they/he pronouns
[picrew used is here]
i have yet to design their deputy but ill update this when i do!!

PbtA is a system that has a few vague core concepts that has been used to design games such as Monster of the Week and Apocalypse World. It’s a 2d6 based system, which makes it pretty easy to play in my opinion!
I tried to keep Path of the Clans simple, but I don’t know if I quite succeeded - definitely simpler than 5e at least! All characters have five stats and Basic Moves they can use for each stat. Cats choose backgrounds based on Clan/kittypet/loner, and can choose special Moves based on their role as a warrior or healer.
The Player’s Guide I made for my own campaign can be found here! It’s got all the basics for the system. It also has the information for my campaign’s fanclans in it lol
And I’d love to hear feedback if you have any :)
people who run warriors ttrpgs what system are you using. for reasons.
