| CHENFORD WEEK  •  DAY 7 : FREE DAY Chenford & Meleric appreciation

I wanted to end this week with a small appreciation post for Melissa and Eric, who pretty much made this ship possible. Their friendship, chemistry and understanding of Tim and Lucy never cease to elevate the writing and give life to these characters. They've added so many little moments, like Tim keeping the ring, his elevator eyes, Lucy's trembling hand while kissing him or the forehead kiss - to name a few… Moments that we love and added more dimensions to the story and to their relationship. The love and care they have for their characters, Chenford and the fans is absolutely special. It also didn't escape my attention that both their birthdays happened during Chenford Week, so this was the perfect occasion! Thank you Melissa & Eric for your portrayal of Lucy & Tim, for making us feel so much for these characters...

Unsurprisingly, Arcadia is my favourite here! It's a solid electronic rock song, and it peaks at the right moment with the chorus easily being my favourite part. I like the production, especially how it adds in little video game sounds in the break near the end. Megara are a band with a distinct aesthetic, which I appreciate.

I rank these based on studio cuts, and Queiro arder is definitely my clear second based on that. The disparate parts might not come together perfectly, but I love how this song constantly switches it up, and I enjoy nearly every section, especially that opening and the almost ethereal pre-chorus which is such a great contrast to the pulsing drop that follows. My big concern with it is how it will come across live, with all the production on the vocals in the studio cut being a big aspect of its sound. That shouting in the first verse especially worries me, it's the only section I'm not convinced about in the studio cut, and I can't see it being any better live. It's the same worry I have for another song I love in this selection, Tracción, which is of a style we've not really heard in a national final before, and also uses a lot of autotune for deliberate effect. Last year a song that made heavy use of artistic autotune ended up pulling out, so I really hope this years' artists know what they're doing for their performances!

Que esclati tot may not be the most interesting or novel song, but it ended up so high in my ranking just because it's so fun! I was vibing with it right off the bat and it managed to stick with me from first listen. Finally, I also really like Quiero y duelo with its folky, acoustic sound which really stands out from the rest of this selection. I love the sound of the Spanish guitar and percussion in it.          

The one thing I have no idea of is what I think Spain should actually send to Eurovision! Last year Chanel proved how much difference a great live could make, so while I've got my favourite songs from this selection for now I'll hold off picking a favourite entry until I've seen them performed! That said, I'd be very excited if Spain sent something a bit off the wall, like the rock Arcadia or the hyperpop Tracción.

What inspired you to take on your current muse (that you are posting this on): 

Honestly I started rping Kamijou in more casual settings when I first finished the anime just because I liked his character and as I read the light novels my muse for him only grew and he became probably my biggest muse that I’ve ever rped as. 

What are your favorite aspects of your current muse:

His ugly hair. I like how far his character development has come, and especially that his character development isn’t linear. He’ll move forwards, he’ll move backwards, he’ll overcome some hurdles and some will be too large for him. He’s a well-balanced character, and even if he’s a ‘hero’ and a ‘good guy’ he has as many negative traits as positive. That makes him fun to write as.

What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to writing:

Not to be sappy or anything.... but my inspiration is all my beautiful and lovely mutuals who are filled with so much inspiration and passion for their own muses... I love you all

Favorite types of threads:

Honestly I’m a sucker for dark threads. Angst fuels my soul. But also hurt/comfort type interactions. I also like action threads but they’re best if both muns are in agreement about each muse’s physical capability and nobody god mods.

I’m not sure how to put it besides that Kamijou is hornier than me and I can’t convey that, but in the end, maybe that’s a good thing. OTL

Re-learn about Allah's Love.

I almost face 30-50 people every day for these 3 weeks. Telling them the same case and help them to figure out the solution. There is an old man, old woman, the smart one until un educated one. So complicated, yet, I do have to endure some debate with my collague, listen to their frustration, jadi sasaran kemarahan karena nyoba konfirmasi. Mikirin masak apa buat besok, denger kabar gak enak, dideketin sama orang yg gak amanah, denger cerita dan pembelaan yang itu - itu lagi dari salah satu orang. Kerjaan utama yang numpuk tiba-tiba, ugh.. Banyak.

Ternyata banyak yang udah gue hadapi di tiga minggu terakhir ini. So much problems, obligation, pressure, laugh, funny, unexpected situation.

MasyaAllah, MasyaAllah.. Alhamdulillah.

-and I am still this healty, I can finish it all, I can wake up in the next morning and ready to the next work. I've my familly, my grandma, My lil sis, my baby Ez the cutest nephew ever., they are soo soo.. Kind to me. They understand me, they still love me. And Allah. He never leave me alone. Kayak kemaren tim sebelah ada agenda besar yang bikin mereka kerja 2 hari full day. Ngurusin -mungkin ratusan orang. Terus lewat pimpinannya mereka minta uang lelah. Denger itu gue shock. Gue dan tim gue kerja 3 minggu nonstop sampe menggadaikan jatah WFH, kagak ada terbesit untuk rewel minta tambah ini atau itu. Ketika lelah, denger hal kek itu rasanya kek "gile lu?! Kalo sampe diturutin asli kagak terima gua mbak! Kita aja yang udah all out kayak gini gak diperhatiin, mereka yg cuma 2 hari pake segala minta uang lelah?!" temen gue di meja sebelah marah-marah. Kesel. Ngerasa gak adil. Dan tiba-tiba jadi capek banget inget kerjaan yang udah dilalui. Setan banget emang, ngerusak keikhlasan kerja orang.

Tapi meski di hati panas, bisa-bisanya gue malah bilang "bu, yaa udah kita tinggal minta aja hal yang sama." Jiah Gubrak! Wkwk. "kalo ga dikasih baru kita protes, bisa-bisanya mereka enak kita kagak" wkwk..

Terus si ibu -yg emang kagak mau disamain sama tim sebelah akhirnya malah bilang "nggak mbak, naj*s banget gue disamain sama mereka". Otak gue koslet "ya terus kenapa ibu marah-marah? Tinggal lakuin hal yg sama aja, kan sama-sama enak"

Air mukanya mengendur, "nggak, gua gak mau nyusahin teh bendahara. Karena gua kan tau mbak gimana kondisinya. Gua mah gampangnya gini aja, gua bilang : teh, kalo lu bisa ngasih uang lelah ke mereka, harusnya lu juga bisa ngasih uang lelah ke tim gua, kan lu juga tau gimana gua sama temen-temen di tim itu".

Bener kata guru MTK gue jaman SMA, hidup cuma rangkaian sandiwara, drama-drama yang sifatnya fana. Siapa yang bisa ngambil hikmah dan pelajaran didalamnya, dan dengan kesadarannya akan hidup makin membuat dia kenal Tuhannya, kenal dirinya, dan jadi makin yakin sama hidup kekal setelah mati, maka bener deh, dia orang yang beruntung.

Dalam 3 pekan ini gue mengenal orang yang punya skill dan dikasih chance sama Allah buat ngangkat derajatnya, better place to work, insyaallah better income. Tapi dia gak sabar, dia manfaatin kepercayaan orang ke dia, dia manfaatin amanah yang dipercayakan ke dia, dan dia berbuat curang untuk memperkaya diri sendiri. Mengabaikan kode etik, bohong, sampai seenaknya mentransaksikan fasilitas umum. Yes! Dalam beberapa hari, ada nominal yang bisa dia raup, masuk ke kantong pribadinya dan jadi makan anak istrinya. Tapi buat apa? Cuma dalam hitungan hari hancur sehancur-hancurnya kepercayaan itu. Aksesnya ditutup, dan kesempatannya hilang. Temen dan rekan yang tadinya welcome jadi antipati dan ilfil, emang enak dijauhin sama temen dan gak dipercaya kolega + pimpinan?! Kagak men.. Kagak.. Rezeki lu otomatis terputus dari sumber yang udah lu bangun sekian tahun.

Sedangkan orang yang tetap memegang amanah dan integritasnya, mungkin mereka gak dapat cuan banyak dan cepat, tapi rezeki mereka ngalir dari kasih sayang manusia, dan kasih sayang Allah. Gak kehitung berapa kali gue dan tim ketika udah lelah + down + capek + ga ada hasil, tiba-tiba ada yang ngirimin makanan, ada yang traktir, ada hal-hal baik yg terjadi dirumah, diluar kantor, dsb.

Marah, kecewa, kesel, capek, ngeluh,.. Yaa ampuunn.. Gak keitung deh itu mulut kalo capek gimana julidnya, uuwuuuuhhh mantapp. Tapi masih bisa ada yang ngademin, nyolek nyuruh Istighfar, nyuruh sabar, saling marahin tapi abis itu ngakak-ngakak lagi. Saling ngingetin sholat. Sabaaarr. Masyaallah... Itu kan juga rezeki,. Iya kan?

Allah tuh lebih kepengen kita bahagia, daripada kita sendiri...

Dalam 3 pekan terakhir, Allah masih kasih nikmat sehat, nikmat bisa makan siang gratis -meski sederhana tapi kerasa berkahnya, enak banget di lidah. Masih bisa bangun tidur terus hidung meler... Ekhm.. Sinus kambuh men, 😁. Urusan-urusan yang bisa cepet selesai meskipun banyak. Pokoknya gak kehitung deh kalo mau disebut satu-satu nikmat Allah hanya dalam 3 minggu terakhir ini, eh gimana dengan puluhan tahun yang udah berlalu? Allaah... Kami teh hanya hamba ternyata, makhluk yg lemah, kecil, hina, alpa, bodoh, abai, lalai, tapi juga mulia karena Engkau muliakan.

Alhamdulillah, please never let us alone, jangan Engkau serahkan (urusan) kami kepada diri kami sendiri, karena sekejap saja kami gak mampu untuk bahkan mengatur sendiri denyut nadi kami. Allaah.. Ijinkan kebaikan itu stay di hati, di lisan, di tindakan kami, dan karenanya kami semakin dekat kepadaMu. Aamiin Allahumma aamiin.

Eric still talks a lot about Chenford on the cameos now. But I did notice he slacked off there for a while about a yr, he really didn’t tag a lot of stuff or talk about Chenford and it all came down to when SOME fans got creepy and started shipping him and Melissa irl not being able to separate the two and tweeting Ros saying that him and Melissa should run away together. Making edits on TikTok, cutting Ros’s face out and putting Melissa‘s in to which I know Ros did not like that at all she tried laughing it off on the podcast, but you could tell it bothered her. I mean there’s always a few that ruin things for everybody else. So a PSA, if people love the show and these characters, don’t be disrespectful to anyone’s spouses or boyfriend’s girlfriends.

Thank you for providing some more context, dear Anon :) I just want to clarify that when I mentioned this issue in my previous reply, I didn't mean to imply that this was why Eric wasn't posting as much about Chenford (or tagging). I simply meant that it wasn't the first time that it happened. I honestly haven't followed what was going on over there since the summer hiatus.

And yes, you're absolutely right : he does still talk about them - or even hype them - a lot on Cameos, so I'm not sure that it's entirely fair to say that he is distancing himself from Chenford. That said, Cameos are quite different than Instagram posts since he is directly asked questions about Lucy and Tim. It's not quite the same as him posting pictures or videos on his social media for everyone to see, if you know what I mean. Not to mention that there is a transactional aspect to cameos that come into play. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he could always ignore them if that truly bothered him, which is why I'm not particularly worried about what his distancing means. On a side note, I don't think him not tagging posts #chenford is much of an issue either, considering that most will see them anyway, by virtue of following him in the first place.

As for the issue you're mentioning… It's unfortunately nothing new. I have yet to see one fandom where that type of issue didn't come up at some point. I'm not going to lie, I really love Meleric and their dynamic (or at least, the part that we see)… If someone wants to make edits and all, why not. What I don't understand is the need some feel to tag his wife in these… Or to be straight up disrespectful. What's the point?! Like you said, the only thing it is going to accomplish, is making Eric stop posting and sharing contents. Or limit the comments and interactions. It seems counterproductive to me… But that's just me :)
