see I like the IDEA of a “what if Kaider didn’t go canon at the end of Cress/Winter” AU but I simply cannot suspend my disbelief enough to read one in its entirety. they were simply too obsessed with each other!! Kai was imagining cute scenarios with Cinder to fall asleep to at 2:30 and saying on live television that he wanted to see her in prison at 14:30. Cinder was on a spaceship trying to plan a coupe/convincing herself she’s glamouring the rampion to be invisible and realistically should have no time to think about a cute boy she met, but she simply cannot help herself!! It took Kai all of 10 MINUTES to process the fact that he’d been kidnapped on his wedding day by the lost princess of Luna before he was making out with her. How am I supposed to pretend that meant nothing. Come on now.

Pac knows that hes hopelessly in love with Fit. He even talks about it with people he trusts the most. And he knows that Fit is flirting with him. But he also had crippling low self esteem and horrible self worth issues so he cant believe that Fit really means the flirting. Because why would someone like Fit like him like that? It has to be just a joke to Fit right? But sometimes he allows himself to hope even though he knows that it will just hurt him in the end. And maybe there is a tiny chance he actually feels the same? But Pac is also scared. Scared of being hurt, scared of scaring Fit off and scared of losing Fit like he loses everyone else.

Fit also knows deep down that he is absolutely and irrevocably in love with Pac. But he is not ready to even fully admit it to himself yet. And maybe deep down he knows that Pac feels the same but if he totally lets that thought in he might have a panic attack. He doesnt know how to do this. Any of this. He is still struggeling with trusting people with basic things. And there are so many reasons why he cant do this. He has a mission, he needs to protect his son and he could not live with himself if he got Pac into his mess and was the reason Pac got hurt. He is so scared of fucking things up in one was or another. And then there is also the internalized homophobia part of course.

This. This. This entire conversation with Morrigan actually makes me want to sob. She and my Tabris always becomes close friends over the course of DAO; that, paired with the fact that my Tabris always romances Alistair, makes everything about this hurt so much more when you take DAO's ending into account.

Her confusion over why my Tabris didn't send her away. Why she didn't abandon her after they learned of Flemeth's plans. Why Tabris went out of her way to slay Flemeth and bring her the true grimoire. She asks Tabris why, and is baffled when the answer is, "I did it because I'm your friend," as if it's that simple.

The way Morrigan looks at the warden, the way her voice cracks when she says, "I want you to know that while I may not always prove... worthy... of your friendship, I will always value it."

She knows how this will end; Flemeth sent her with the wardens with the end goal of stopping the blight and obtaining the old god soul through the dark ritual. Morrigan knows that Alistair and Tabris are the only Grey Wardens here, and assuming they don't find more, one of them will have to die defeating the archdemon unless they agree to do the dark ritual.

With that context, her asking Alistair, "And what if a Grey Warden has forced to choose between the Warden he loved and ending the Blight? What should his choice be?" suddenly has so much subtext weaved through the words that I'm gonna start foaming at the mouth. She's practically telling Alistair that a warden has to die. She's scrutinizing his reaction to find any hint that suggests he would agree to the dark ritual in order to save himself and the woman he loves. And when he doesn't choose, she has her answer.

Morrigan made comments to Tabris about him, almost hopeful that their relationship was just a physical thing between them and not actually riddled with feelings... and then gives disapproval when Tabris says she loves him.

She doesn't want the warden to die; hell, she doesn't want Alistair to die, either; whether because she does actually care about him or because she knows it'll break her friend's heart if she loses him, or both!

Things would be so much easier if the only two Grey Wardens left to defeat the blight didn't fall in love, wouldn't they, Morrigan?

She knows that in the end, no matter the outcome, she will lose the woman she called sister and it's devastating.

Morrigan, who has never known true friendship. Who grew up isolated in the woods with an abusive mother and terrible implications for her future. Who discovered said mother planned to take over her body just as she did with her other daughters. Who doesn't understand kindness as it was rarely given to her without a catch. Who isolates herself from the others in camp. Who finally has a companion she cares about... and in the end, if her plan works and the dark ritual is completed, she'll end up pregnant and alone and wearing Tabris' resentment like a tender wound on her heart.

Or Tabris will reject the ritual, and will die to the archdemon.

Or her lover will.

I just- the dynamic between the warden, romanced Alistair, and Morrigan is so good and painful and rich that I'm gnawing on furniture as we speak.

especially after what happened before the tour de inferno, you made a deal with the Sons of Calydon to not only supply them with top quality parts, but also repair and upgrade their bikes. all this outside of the hollow? that’s too good of a deal to pass up on.

in the beginning, they were a little suspicious. you didn’t seem to have any ties to bad biker gangs and your bike that you showed them used parts that could never be gotten so easily in the hollow. caesar decided to take your bike out for a spin (lighter watching like a hawk to make sure she doesn’t get hurt), and she was laughing and screaming. once she was back, she gave your hand a firm shake and immediately went on about what sort of upgrades she wanted with her bike.

from that day on, you became the official mechanic for the Sons of Calydon. your work was clean and your service was fast. other mechanics and repairmen would take a few days, you only needed 2 days. even if you took a bit of time on their bikes, you would give them the keys to your bike so that they could still ride around the outer ring if they needed to.

if anyone wants a longer post (mechanic reader x lighter perhaps?), i will be more than happy to write it out ! it might take some time because i know NOTHING about motor parts but i will try to write something good.

When I made the Mori and Juniper coffee pic a couple people on Instagram asked to see a comparison between their dynamic in Dorm Days (they're 18/19 years old) and current day around the time Starbound comes around (when they're around 23/24 years old). They're two people that go through a lot together and a big part of their story is them trying to get past their own hang-ups (Juniper being closed off and making assumptions and Mori being naïve and navigating her people-pleasing tendencies), especially in the beginning when they're really sensitive around others. So when they do get through their issues, they're much more open to becoming friends.

And it's not a quick progress; it takes years to forge the friendship they have in the second pic. Don't get me wrong, I love stories that have the two main characters hit it off immediately and they just have a few speedbumps along the way. But I think the interesting part of a story like this, where neither is exactly open at first, is that they both grow and learn despite being thrown together unexpedtedly.

I mean it when I say that they’re literally the sole reason I watched this show in the first place. I saw a billion TikTok edits of them & was like “Idek these characters I need to watch this show and see what’s going on over there.”

And like, it’s a fun show, I’m not saying it isn’t, but first responder shows are a dime a dozen. There are other shows that have queer characters and found family and wild adventures. Granted, they don’t have Buck & his bi arc, but I’d still read fanfics to get my Evan Buckley fix lol.

I don’t need them right now, I’m so down for the slow burn, will-they-won’t-they & the pining & the yearning & the build up and the GOOD foundation. I want to see Eddie figuring himself out and dealing with his repression and figuring out he’s queer (& Demi, pls God. I hope if I just say it enough, I can will it into existence somehow) before anything happens with the two of them, but if they take definitive steps to have one of them like, marry someone else or something, I think I’m gonna head out. the more i read multi-chaptered fics, especially slow burn ones, the more i feel like i lose faith in my own chaptered fic that i have yet to even start

First of all because I LOVE that song but then I found out it’s also a reference to a straight-to-DVD flop Lucy Liu made called the same thing!
