Something that makes me really curious is where Lu Guang's parents are and what kind of relationship they have with him.
In bridon arc ep 5 he mentions that his father noticed that he had his ability at 7, is that true or is it just something he made up so Cheng Xiaoshi wouldn't suspect about him knowing too much about their abilities?
It'd make sense if people with these abilities were more likely to have relatives with them too, like Li Tianchen and Li Tianxi. Or maybe they both had it because they're twins? Also, we don't know exactly which kind of power he has yet but Liu Xiao definitely has one while Liu Min didn't, and they're brothers. I guess it's random? but also not?
Anyway, what I wanted to say is that it would be cute if Lu Guang's father/mother has (or had, maybe they're dead lol) an ability and that's why his father noticed so quickly. That would also explain why Lu Guang is so aware of the consequences of changing the past (unless it's cxs related because yk gay people). Imagine little him being taught the concept of "past or future let them be" by his parents AW
I really hope they're not evil or something because I'd love to see a happy caring loving family for Lu Guang MY BOY DESERVES EVERYTHING!!!!!

Y'all I'm so anguished over Link Click I have a real problem.
Absolutely unhinged nonsense rambling under the cut
There should be 3678642367 Lu Guang actor AUs on AO3 because I can't even act okay in real life, how has he not lost his damn mind. I'm feeling yandere over Cheng Xiaoshi, I just want to lock him in a bunker and keep him safe, how does Lu Guang even do day to day normal things. I'd be too afraid to leave Cheng Xiaoshi to even go to the bathroom. This is why I'm so afraid that Lu Guang will become an antagonist later on in the series, because how can you helplessly watch someone you love die again and again and again and not lose your sanity and do anything just to make the agony stop. At what point does Lu Guang just say I don't care what I have to do, I don't care if you hate me, as long as you're safe.
#uh oh guys im in super deep obsessed mode rn#hyperfixation rn for sure#link click spoilers#link click bridon arc#hoo boy im like vibrating with emotion for link click#i just want to grab a rando by the shoulders and shake em and be like lu guang is in literal hell right now#just bc he wants cheng xiaoshi to be okay#he just wants to live with him#its not too much to ask gdi#why is fate so cruel#fuck vein man#if you hurt cheng xiaoshi again im coming in there myself to kick your ass#for the love of god someone hug lu guang

I just finished all of Link Click (please watch it it’s so good I’m emotionally damaged by these two men who love each other so so much and I will never be the same) it’s on 9anime you can watch it for free!
This is for the people who’ve already seen it so spoilers! Its established towards the end of the second season that when someone with a power dies while in physical contact with someone else that ability transfers to the other person right? And Lu Guang couldn’t time travel in the first season which means homeboy Xaioshi died in his arms at some point that’ll probably be shown in season three
#Link Click#link click anime#lu guang#cheng xiaoshi#link click season 2#guys I am not okay#I love time travel shit so much#Like nooooo! not the rational one being the one trying to change the narrative!!!!!

Beside this is a little image of two cats—one white and the other black—hugging each other while sleeping, similar to the boys. Prepare for the worst guys...
The Link Click fandom is going crazy over this on Twitter, and I'm gonna bring the chaos over here too 😉 I mean we might as well lose our sh*t together, right ?
I want to talk about the "see you later" thing, since the artist works for the sgdlr people, I decided it was only right to see this from a Chinese angle, "see you later", despite a not so common translation, can literally translate to “再見”, and even though “再見” is typically used in the sense where you'd see the person again, even when someone dies, the phrase is also used to ask you to say your goodbyes to the deceased, “好好說再見” or something on the lines of that, like more of a goodbye forever thing.
I don't like where this is going 🥹🥹🥹 help
And on Twitter there are two main analysis/arguments I'm seeing right now
1. Vein is going to die
The stairs symbolizes Vein taking the steps to the after life, and leaving his cloak behind is kind of a passing the torch thing.
Plus the "person in the middle theory" I'm seeing on twitter
2. Xia Fei is going to die
Oh, and what about my thoughts ? No thoughts, I'd rather just be in the dark and wait until episode 6, then start crying and screaming :D cause right now it seems like there is no chance of a good ending at all, so I don't even want to think about it anymore even tho I'm probably still gonna, but we could pray to the sgdlr gods to just sacrifice Cheng Weimin for the greater good 😃 sounds like a lovely idea, right guys ?
But yeah, I guess we're expecting these kinds of endings next episode
Vein dies
Xia Fei dies
Cheng Xiaoshi dies again in this arc (which is honestly what I'm hoping for, look it's nothing personal, I like cxs just as much as most of the fandom, it's just...I don't want any new deaths, and it's the only other reasonable option and it also ties back to the entire, Lu guang's first attempt at saving him thing, maybe I'm just coping but I think this is the most likely and also the safest option for the fandom)
Cheng Weimin dies😃 which is unhinged, I know, but tell me you wouldn't want this😃😃
While I'm writing this my neighbor is literally playing some emotional songs on the piano, Istg please stop 🥹🥹
Currently the safest people in the fandom are the Liu Xiao simps btw, the contrast is actually comical, while multiple sides of the fandom are crying, screaming, breaking down, the Liu Xiao simps are just sipping tea in one corner of the room, might as well migrate there for a while to avoid the inevitable pain

As much as I adore how the Link Click fandom is analyzing every single Yingdu frame because of the "different timelines" theory... I really don’t think that’s the case, guys 😅
For starters, there's consistency in the way Lu Guang acts and thinks—there’s no indication that he’s jumping through multiple attempts. If he were, I’m fairly certain his thoughts and actions wouldn’t align so perfectly. We’re following the Yingdu timeline Lu Guang, and nothing else.
Second, the donghua has already established how changes in the timeline are perceived: the screen gains a filter and glitches, all of this shown through Lu Guang’s perspective because he’s the one who notices the changes. They emphasize this because it’s crucial, and they want the audience to notice it.
Honestly, if they intended to go with the "we're seeing multiple timelines simultaneously" concept, they would have made it more obvious. The inconsistencies people point out could easily be animation errors, since minor background discrepancies are common in animation. Animation is hard, and studios prioritize time and effort. They focus most of their resources on the main elements—the characters and their immediate surroundings—rather than on the blurry background details that only someone pausing every frame or with an exceptional eye for detail might notice.
That said, I still have a lot of fun reading these theories, and I’d love it if, in the end, they did something with this—like if these supposed mistakes actually turn out to be alternate timelines that Qiao Ling is seeing in the present through Li Tianxi’s power. Either way, I’m sure they’ll find a way to surprise us, as they always do, or break our hearts.

A few theories of the Yingdu episode 1
I know, there are multiple scenes (multiple death scenes maybe) but I think that the one we see, is the original timeline.
I presume that because this is the moment of diving power transfer. So, if we regress along this timeline to their freshman year, we may find their 'innocent non-composote' selves.
Composite self = There is a disparity between one's physicality and consciousness. When one dives (the diver) into their own host body, that body represents the composite self.
So, in that basketball scene, innocent Lu Guang and innocent Cheng Xiaoshi, both of them would have a non traumatic first encounter, their minds are not burdened by guilt or regret.
Now,
This is Lu Guang's first ever dive.
Lu Guang wakes up 12 hours later, and discovers he is still there. He got lost in the History that he is living in. And the immediate consequence of this kind of diving is that your existence gets erased from the world you belong to, you get stuck in a revision of history, you know things beforehand but somehow this heightens your lack of agency.
So what we are following in Yingdu from Lu Guang's pov, it is Lu Guang's first ever dive. And logically, this Cheng Xiaoshi whom we are seeing sound and alive now
when he reaches 13th September of season 1 (or whatever date he died), he will be this -
and
this is the Lu Guang we are accompanying in the main episode, this is that first diving Lu Guang. He is experiencing Cheng Xiaoshi's death for the second time and for the first time while diving.
I also theorise that
this is Lu Guang's last dive (up to the finale of season 2). The consequence of this dive is that Cheng Xiaoshi gets saved. Because this visual is played when Lu Guang in episode 12, season 2 says, " I'm sorry Cheng Xiaoshi..." and he dives into the past to save him. Also, there is a high possibility that Vein gets out of the picture during this time. So this is a major dive.
edit : I love that you guys are interacting, thank you so much because the timeline theory has never been something I have ever quite understood.

"The show is about to start."
One more mention of being a spectator, an observer. The idea of the Manipulator implies that he doesn't get his hands dirty, he sends people in and watches how things unfold. He doesn't even look that involved, emotionally.
The settings on this screenshot makes it look like a guy watching the world through cameras, but the couch isn't facing the TVs, it's facing us. I think there is a recurrent theme in this fandom we easily overlook: the 4th wall. But let's put that aside for now and focus on his role as an active spectator, making his headcanons come true from the darkness of his basement.
On this countdown picture, he's watching the show, LIVE. The bouquet 💐 puts us on his trail: he's not watching a silver screen but an actual representation. If this is a theater, it also implies there is no do over for each scene, the comedians have to do it all in one go and this night will be like no other before and after, each show tragically unique for people only there to witness it.
And tonight, with a flower bouquet in his arms, he intends to meet his favorite performer (Lu Guang)!
Spiderworts symbolize enduring love, just like myosotis, but also immortality and moral authority. Its other names are Widow’s Tears and False Dayflower.
Interesting.
The former, reminds us of the black widow of course. This name is related to the female's bad habit of eating the male after mating. Cannibalism, you say? x) Why does it do it? Nutrition, of course. It enhances reproductive success. So it's only natural behavior, survival instincts. With the spider imagery comes the spiderweb metaphor, which is always efficient to express manipulation and hunter/prey relationship.
The later forces us to ask, what do you mean false? Dayflower is an actual flower, by the way, meaning reliability and trustworthiness. 👀 Coincidence that Liu Xiao's flower basically implies that he isn't reliable and trustworthy? I don't think so 😂 It also is a call back to the Devil tarot card meta I did last week saying he represents the antichrist, the one you choose to put your trust into for salvation but who's actually bringing you closer to your demise.
Apparently, in victorian floriography language, a man gifts spiderworts to another man to express esteem (X). Liu Xiao wants to make his feelings known, finally, and he's using flowers to do it. I feel like he has a very parasocial relationship with Lu Guang, though. He's pining hard, but Lu Guang never appears to be aware of him. Even in "The Eye", he's looking at the window while Liu Xiao is reading the same poem over and over again. This Shakespeare poem which, as mentioned in a previous meta, is about two lovers who must be separated for survival reasons. Waiting patiently for the end of the representation to make his presence/existence known hints on his penchant for theatrics as well.
All of this info is cool and all but what does it mean?
I truly believe that Liu Xiao is in awe of Lu Guang, might it be because of his abilities (and the creative way he might use them to save Cheng Xiaoshi), his achievements (that we barely know about) or his objective/motivation. Think of him as a scientist who bases his own research on his peer's work. Liu Xiao could very much be the mad scientist type, though lmao.
The fact Lu Guang's chess piece is a white Knight but Liu Xiao is kissing the black Knight in his PV? He's either delusional, thinking Lu Guang and he are the same, or he knows all of Lu Guang's dark secrets. As a stalker does, you know.

I'm thinking today about Lu Guang's next best friend. The one he meets, after Cheng Xiaoshi. How in the beginning of their friendship, they notice how Lu Guang gets anxious around the idea of autumn. They hear him mention how September is his least favorite month, and it takes several years of assuming it's to do with the weather before they find out the real reason why. Or how he has a precise eye of how to take a photo, and he tells them that his best friend taught him how--his other best friend, no, you've never met him. He passed away, two years ago. Thanks, man. We don't have to talk about it.
I wonder how long it took before this new best friend saw Lu Guang cry. I think when it happened, it was when Lu Guang least expected it. Because he thought he was doing fine, and then something twists, reality twinges, and Cheng Xiaoshi's ghost is visible even to them before they even knew his name.
I wonder how the best friend worried about Lu Guang. Knowing that there was a grief and sorrow that they did not understand, did not know how to care for just yet. They loved through trial and error, awkward and clumsy and earnest. They feel like they could have done more, but they didn't know how.
If Lu Guang had a new best friend--and he would, he has many years ahead of him, and so much love to spread around--he would learn to love things he hadn't indulged in before. Maybe his new best friend introduces him to Korean food. Maybe they share a tradition, like exchanging homemade dumplings during the holidays, or hiking a new mountain every summer. Maybe they teach him about species of jellyfish, or the history of the Smurfs, or how to say curse words in Russian. I think it would happen so slowly, so naturally, he doesn't realise how new it all is to him until he sits back and wishes he could tell Cheng Xiaoshi about all of it, because he misses sharing a life with his friend.
Maybe they met on the basketball court, but I don't think so. I don't think Lu Guang has touched a basketball in a while, and his new best friend is a bit asthmatic so it all works out. But at one point they'll be passing a court and a couple of kids ask them to throw back a runaway ball. Lu Guang will shoot it across the chain link fence with surprising arm and ease, and his new best friend would say, I didn't know you could play basketball!
Not for a while, Lu Guang would say. My friend and I used to play a lot when we were in school.
The new best friend would have an inkling that he means the one who died, the one whose name Lu Guang mentions only to his intimates, and it'll take some time before they are included.
It might take a year or two to learn the name of Lu Guang's deceased friend. Cheng Xiaoshi. Lu Guang shared it as if it were made of gossamer glass. He missed saying it as much as he missed hearing it as much as he was terrified that he would fall apart as soon as he said it. But once he said it, he starved to tell his new best friend again, and again, and again. Cheng Xiaoshi. His name was Cheng Xiaoshi. I had a best friend named Cheng Xiaoshi.
They're a little nervous to say it, sometimes, because there are little opportunities to need it. They never met Cheng Xiaoshi before. They have no mutual friends except for Lu Guang. It feels shy, almost unearned, and yet the first time they say Cheng Xiaoshi's name (my old roommate--oh, was it Cheng Xiaoshi?) Lu Guang's heart skips a beat. He was here, Lu Guang remembers. He was here once, and he existed, and all of this missing isn't just my imagination.
(Do you have a picture of him?) Tons. Well, stupid ones. He liked taking photos more. Um. Here. You can scroll around.
(He looks so joyful.) He was. ...you know, this one time, he and I went on a trip and...
(He sounds like such a funny guy.) You have no idea. He used to always laugh at this joke about a cucumber that...
(You really love him.)
(I wish I had gotten to meet him.) I wish you did too.

So uh. Episode 6, huh? I mean, I knew I'd be disappointed when I saw that it was only 26 minutes long, and that fear became true. I absolutely think this ep would've been A LOT better if it had had time to BREATHE.
Like. No scene was really long enough to have actual impact? Even those that I liked were just at least 1-2 minutes too short.
The photo shooting? Cute! Love that Lu Guang could just lift Cheng Xiaoshi like that but didn't account for the change in center of gravity. Would've loved it a lot more if it had been longer, though?? Give me more of that wholesomeness, give me some more of the bonding with Xia Fei! (Cxs has a picture of both of them as his chat background??)
The scene with Wang Qing? The beginning was OK, I guess (wtf was that story Vein told her?? It would be funny if it was his own lol), but as soon as the mum took over, I felt like the rug was pulled under me?? It was NOT serious at all, and while it's kinda 'nice' to see that he apparently has his silly side from her, there was NO emotional impact, at least not for me. And again, it could've worked, if the scene had just. Been. Longer!! Give him time to process that this is his mum!? Give him time to be angry at her! Like he gave a whole speech to his dad, and he didn't even know it was him, so his mum should've gotten it worse??
I also high key hate her more than the dad?? Like?? Idk where she is in this moment, but she has to be at some place in the future to be able to dive back, but even if she were just 10 min into the future from here, at this point she was gone from her son's life for a decade and she's behaving like she just left for a week of vacation or so???
I feel so sorry for Cheng Xiaoshi... and the poor loyal soul is STILL waiting!!
The talk of Lu Guang and Vein also was... a bit underwhelming tbh? So you're telling me Vein asks him "Why do you look at me with murderous intent lol", Lu Guang answers "I have my reasons", and Vein then just leaves it at that? 💀
(Do you think Lu Guang said the Detective set the forest on fire? Since it was the same that Vein said and somehow that answer fits him)
The fight with Wang Qing was also... well. The fight was OK, BUT WHY DID SHE GO AND GET THE DAMN BOOK?! wtf?
And of course, the sweetie line was said to her 🙄 biggest letdown, but I expected it.
And then. Uh. What happened?
Does Lu Guang have another power? Is he able to remote-kill people? 😅 why did Wang Qing's eyes glow blue?? Does Vein's real name have anything to do with this??? And why does he (seem to) know that this is Lu Guang's doing????
ACK so many questions. Kinda wondering what that means for Lu Guang and how he will end up...? Like. Killing someone in cold blood isn't really a hero kind of thing, so I wonder if he will get punished for that 🥲
Either way, the whole death scene, or rather the aftermath of it, felt short again. Not even a real grieving moment for poor Xia Fei 😭
The kitty hat is back?? How??
Xia Fei telling them that he'll get the one who killed his boss, oh well, I guess we will see him again, but not as a friend anymore 🥲 i mean, that was to be expected, but... still 😭
I guess my biggest disappointment was finding out that this is the current timeline because wtf. So we just ignore that Cheng Xiaoshi didn't know that he could dive by himself in s1. Okay, cool cool.
Xia Fei disappearing in the end, uh, I guess I'll interpret that as him going underground on his hunt for the killer of his beloved boss. (Why did the other guy disappear? Who knows. Maybe Xia Fei finally snapped... (was that one of the guys that tried to drown him? Didn't have time to check, but he looked similar? Need to check the credits for names maybe))
And then Vein did a Bella Swan impression, I guess.
So who's the one with the fake death ability, since director Li apparently confirmed that Vein didn't have powers in the Yingdu arc? Is it Wang Qing, since the code was on her id? But how is Lu Guang involved then? ARGH.
Tldr:
Too much stuff happened in not enough time. The episode would've profited IMMENSELY from just 10 more minutes, though more would've been better imo.
Cheng Xiaoshi's parents are awful. Even if in the future we will learn that they had a good reason to leave him alone without a word, the way they were portrayed is not on their favour 💀
Looking forward to seeing the hot headed trio again in s3, but I'm also scared of it. (Did Vein have any agency in his fake death? Because I don't think so. And if that's the case, how did he come back? We all know the "came back wrong" trope etc, so what if he came back as Liu Xiao's puppet? Hah. There's potential for drama here, but at this point I'll just not get my hopes up lol)
So. I guess now the waiting begins 💀
#link click#link click spoilers#episode 6 was... something#i got up at 6am for this 💀#i guess at least veifei survived so there's one thing I wished for coming true

Okay, just watched episode 6 of Link Click Bridon Arc. What is going on here??!! I'm so confused about the timelines! Lu Guang's mention of this being his last chance, just like at the end of season 2 makes me think that this is all the same timeline! But I was originally so convinced that this was just one of Lu Guangs failed attempts! I don't know what to think anymore! If anyone has any evidence for either way, please let me know!
Anywho, onto the less confusing parts of the episode! Cheng Xiaoshi went through it in this episode! From thinking he was about to be sold into prostitution, to actually having a good time with the photoshoot, what a whiplash that must have been! And Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang were so cute! Loved them getting pretty photos on the bike before just eating it in the dirt! And then all the fun times are ripped away from him and he's forced to meet his mom, who immediately tells him to forget about this and stop trying to search for his parents! I can't believe that he might have been holding onto this secret throughout all of seasons 1 and 2! This poor boy can not catch a break!
And Cheng Xioashi's mom! Wow that was a shock! Was not expecting her to possess Wang Qing. I wasn't quite a fan of how blasé she was about abandoning her son for like a decade, but I definitely can see where he gets a lot of his personality from. And I have seen someone mention that maybe with her plan to change the past and save his dad, maybe she's working towards a timeline where everything is fine and they both end up coming back from London when he was still a kid, basically making it so that he was never really abandoned. So, for her, this more of a neat glimpse into what her son is going to grow up to be. Still doesn't really excuse her behavior to me, but it makes it easier to process, so I'm gonna go with this headcanon until proven otherwise.
Onto my best boy Lu Guang, wow he was fun this episode! Loved getting to see him have fun with Cheng Xiaoshi and even bond with Xia Fei a bit! And then seeing him show his anger with Vein was neat! So curious about Vein's "death" scene, I can't tell if it was more Lu Guang "orchestrating" his death by delaying him enough to change the timeline so he's killed by Wang Qing, or if Lu Guang actually somehow possessed Wang Qing and directly used her powers to take him out. Hopefully season 3 will give us some answers.
I almost completely missed that Vein had come back to life, only went back to watch the end cause someone had mentioned it in a comment. It'll be interesting to see what role he and Liu Xiao play in season 3 and what their plans are for our crew!
And Xia Fei, wonder what happened to him and the guy who got fired? And will Lu Guang even mention it to Cheng Xiaoshi, or will this be another Emma incident?
I love this show so much, even if it can be a bit of a mess to puzzle through occasionally. I'm so curious about what's coming next, and excited to spend the rest of the day reading others' theories about what the heck just happened!

my problem recommending Link Click to people
clearly, i love Link Click. i find the show emotionally compelling, the characters are well-written and interesting, the complex/convoluted plot is very crunchy for my adhd brain to chew on. LOVE that. however. i have yet to find a person irl who Sees My Vision when i recommend the show to them, and i think it's the fandom's fault.
not in bad way! but i think this show is a good example of media that exists for FANS and not casual viewers.
season 1 is by far the most accessible. a straightforward story about two guys solving crime by time travelling in photos. don't mess up the past, it could mess up the future, etc etc. everything is linear, the character motivations are pretty clear, the plot is seriously gripping. the only accessibility hurdles are the piss poor subs we had to deal with and the lack of on-screen text translation. and i suppose if you don't like shows that are episode-5-level heavy then this probably isn't the show for you.
season 2 already starts off on a very niche foot with the fact that there was a pretty big spoiler (or a hint at one) in the XETROVERTHINK music video that released before the season aired. fans who knew about that video were already speculating, and by the first 30 seconds of season 2, theories were running RAMPANT. NOW everyone was intentionally looking for hints of time travel mid-season. they were predicting how and when cheng xiaoshi might die. it made an extremely confusing season FUN because even when we didn't know what the hell was going on, we could always fall back on the lu guang timeloop theory to chew on.
but if you didn't see the XETROVERTHINK video? well, you probably weren't paying as close attention to what lu guang was saying in the first 30 seconds. the shot of cheng xiaoshi dying lasted for only a second or two. blink and you miss it. if you didn't rewatch the episode, you probably wouldn't notice. in a show where so many things don't make sense, that could have just been one more to add to the pile.
cut back to all the people that I've forced to watch the show, I can say that they did NOT have the same watching experience that i had as a fun following along on tumblr. which is fine, but they do look at me like i'm insane when i try to explain that this is the most fun show ever created.
after one of my friends finished season 2 i sent him a draft of the fic i was writing for some feedback and when he got to season 2-spoiler specific part, he didn't fully understand that lu guang had gone back in time to prevent cheng xiaoshi from dying, and therefore didn't understand what i had written. he didn't have the fandom, who had been speculating about that for 12 full weeks before the reveal, so as a casual fan, the first time he received that info was in that last 2 minutes of the season, and he didn't full understand it
my younger sister has made it to yingdu, and every time i try to talk to her about it when get to talk about shiguang a lot, but i don't have much time to sit her down and show her frame by frame analyses of why the lu guang vs vein interaction in episode one looks like it might be in two different timelines. she's not seeing that there's morse code in the books or interpreting sonnets or pausing to check the eye color of characters, so when i talk to her about it we're scratching maybe 3% of what the show is truly communicating with us.
and again, it makes me look like a total headcase when i try to explain to people that this is the best show ever and so much fun because if you're not INTERACTING with the show and with the fans, mulling over the minute details in a scene or asking for a more accurate translation of something, it's like you're missing out on most of the show
i once tried to recommend my sister one of my favorite pokemon fanfics of all time. she'd read some others and seemed interested, so i sent her the link and then told her that to fully understand it she'd need to have knowledge of basically every major character in the entire pokemon anime, from kid trainers to gym leaders to Champions to villains to rivals to professors. she'd also have to know how they all relate to each other, PLUS some game characters. i sent her a list of episodes she needed to watch for character and plot relevance and links to wikipedias for other main characters. after she absorbed all this information then she could truly understand why this was the greatest fic ever!!
that's what recommending Link Click is feeling like, currently. like i want you to like this show, i want you to understand this show like i do, but that means you HAVE to be insane about it. there's no other way to appreciate it if you're not in the fandom.
#link click#this isn't super coherent bc its late but its something thats been on my mind a lot lately
