Did you know there is official BTS content NOT on BigHit pages?

BigHit and BTS have posted a lot of original content on the many company resources I have been highlighting so far (BangtanTV, iBigHit, Hybe Label, etc.). However, there is a lot of material that is original, and not modified by viewers, that can be found on the official pages of hosts and programs that interviewed BTS or where BTS has performed. For example,

When BTS explained the meaning of their self-produced album, BE, in an interview on MTV Fresh Out Live. This is found on MTV's official channel.

When BTS reflected on the early eras of their career on Spotify. This is found on Spotify's official channel.

When V was interviewed by IU on her show, IU's Palette, about his album Layover. This can be found on IU's official channel, IU Official.

When Jimin was interviewed on the Lee MuJin Service show about his FACE album and sang a slow, jazzy version of his song, Like Crazy. This can be found on the official KBS KPop channel.

Some items that are posted on official sites, like a few of these, have since been obtained by BigHit/Hybe and can also be found on BTS's BangtanTV channel. However, there is a wealth of footage that can only be found for official viewing on the official channel where it was originally posted.

Taking a few extra minutes to make sure you're watching the footage on the official channels, instead of through a reactor's or poster's page, not only gives credit to the hosting channel in order to show them BTS's appeal, popularity, and value, but it also gives BTS streaming credit for some of the official views. It also ensures that the footage and translations haven't been modified in any way.

For the record, I do not have anything against reactors. I watch them too at times. It's fun to hear other people's perspectives and observations about the material. Reactors serve a free promotional purpose too. However, I would recommend watching the official pages first or also, rather than to only give credit to the reactors for the hardwork that BTS is actually doing. Many reactors at least do more than posters, who are merely trying to poach clicks from the main page.

Consider the guys watching the numbers on their pages to see how appreciated their work is. Also, by watching the official pages, it helps improve the algorithm to draw more people to the official content. It's a win-win outcome.

My 4yo is in a phase of asking me what songs 'mean' lately and I sort of boil them down, summarize the metaphors, etc. This one was a, "Well, kid... [insert 30 minute ramble]." Also that line, I'll weather your storms for the stillness in you, breaks my brain every time.

Mollymauk has a firm hold of my mind at present and likely for the foreseeable future. Taliesin Jaffe and his uncanny ability to create characters I have no initial interest in and am fully, wonderfully unhinged about by the end...

what makes winter heptagon so special is that it's the first got7 album produced after all the members have spent time promoting as soloists. their solo careers have given them an opportunity to grow their individual sounds and feature their talents in ways that don't always take center stage in their group promotions. (a side note to say that it's been my pleasure and surprise to find that bambam is the member who's solo music i gravitate towards the most. he spent most of 2014-17 making self-deprecating comments about his singing voice and insisting that rap was his real strength, but he's put in so much time and effort toward vocal training and it SHOWS.) but the new album features songs written/produced by each individual member:

唐汉霄/tang hanxiao - 再见深海/goodbye deep sea (original version) (ai generated shiwang version with lyric translation) this is actually the ending theme song of a really good animated movie that premiered around the same time of three-body. what brought my attention to the song was that a fan used ai program and generated a version of the song with zhang luyi and yu hewei's voices, so it's like wang miao and shi qiang sang this song together. the lyric is also very very very shiwang. i literally cried when i heard the shiwang version of the song for the first time.

赵雷/zhao lei - 我记得/i remember this is actually a very popular bgm for any kind of loving relationship, a song about the reincarnation of two people. this song is really shiwang fans hoping that they can eventually spend a lifetime together. last line of the lyric says "come and hug me quickly. i finally found you" which is really fitting for the hug scene.

家家/Jiajia - 尘埃/dust i've posted about this song here with lyric translation. it's a bgm three-body's official social media picked for a shiwang video on douyin.

火鸡朋友/turkey friends, this is an original song written and recorded by the fans for shiwang. it really shows how much people love shiwang. i kinda never thought a middle aged chinese ship would get this kind of dedicated treatment from the fans, but shiwang did it.

SONG: can you hear me? - it's really hard for me to pick one favourite song (i have a playlist with his entire catalogue & it's 8h long), but i decided to choose this one because it's really special to me. it's so simple & yet it makes me want to cry every single time i hear it... the lyrics + his voice + piano...

when i heard you sing, it changed everything indeed...

MOVIE: you're not gonna be surprised here. vivo is my favourite animated movie & has the best plot & the best songs & it's sad & i actually wrote the entire essay here & there again, so just go & read if you want!

MUSICAL: as much as i love hamilton, in the heights owns my heart. why? because this story has everything it needs: amazing music, real characters, it's sad & it makes you cry but at the same time it gives you... hope. i cannot even explain how much it means to me, in the heights is my adopted child, ok? if you're not bored yet, go read this essay that i wrote after seeing it live!

TV SHOW: once again, no one's surprised... freestyle love supreme is literally everything to me. i could pick any other show, but this one has a very special place in my heart & as much as i love lin as an actor, i love him even more when he's just being himself (my man has so many talents & making up rhymes on the spot is one of them, you can see all of it in this show but also look at his hair).

INTERVIEW: there are a lot of crazy interviews that literally brought me to tears, but i would definitely recommend the recent one where lin talks about five songs that he loves... it's amazing to listen to him talk about music.

Wandering Star: such an interesting mix of “folksy” with urban sound effects

Undenied: again, this is has a blend of soft and harsh sounds, but I like how it’s completely different from the first song. The timbres/qualities are different, so it’s a fun experiment in how far you can go with a musical idea.

I Want You: YES I LOVE EARLY DYLAN!!! This is prob in my top 5 fave Dylan tracks. It’s so heartbreakingly beautiful, simple, and earnest.

First off, all your recent works have been so good! Your art too, it’s all so well done. It’s been so long since I’ve seen anything sally face and it made me go watch some old playthroughs… brought me back to my childhood.

I don’t know why but I always get so giddy when I see song lyrics from the songs I recommended being used, I’m so glad you like them as much as I do.

I’m sorry anons are being rude in your messages, I fear they need to relearn the virtue of patience and that you don’t owe them work. I personally am willing to wait however long you need for one of your works (even if it isn’t in a fandom I’m from) because I know your works are always absolutely amazing and nothing short of a masterpiece. <3

Have you listened to Ariana’s new album and Hozier’s new EP? I loved ‘We can’t be friends’, ‘don’t wanna break up again’, ‘boy is mine’, and ‘I wish I hated you’ from Ari’s album specifically, although every song in that album was so good. ‘Too Sweet’ and ‘Fare Well’ were my favorite from Hozier’s album, the guitar in both is just so good.

My recommendation for this time (if you haven’t heard it already) is Luna Day’s ‘Obsessed’ and ‘Say it Back’. Unrequited love songs will always have a special place in my heart.

HELLO LAB! I’m sorry for being so late to answering this , I was fighting demons and eating my homework . I DO have many Aaside recs heheh, I have a entire Aaside playlist but it’s on apple music which I don’t think you have (? Maybe you do I can send it if so) so I will simply write a list here. I’ll put some bands and songs and a brief description of their styles!!!

For your Main Band, Standard Mobage Music, I’d recommend Argonavis! At times I like their music and at times I don’t. They actually use a large variety of instruments in their songs despite being a 5 man band, so I don’t know where they’re getting these strings and all that but I’ll suspend my belief for the tunes. Their music is like, upbeat inspirational pop rock tunes with an odd amount of strings if you pay close attention. There’s also a heavy focus on piano in their songs! Some specific songs I would recommend are Hey! Argonavis, AASIDE (only listen to the argonavis version. If you listen to the all leaders version your ears will bleed), JUNCTION, Starry Line, VOICE, and my personal favorite of all their songs, Root of Love….Root of Love is not at all like any of their usual music, it’s much more subdued and a bit more…..tender…..? Well, it’s really great anyways, so if I had to choose one of their songs to listen to forever, it would be that one. Their covers of Melissa and Kuchizuke Diamond are also really good! Imo the second one is better than the original

For METAL ROCK GRAHHHH HEAVY DRUMS HEAVY GUITAR HEAVY VOCALS GAAHHGRAHHH I HATE MY DAD music, listen to GYROAXIA! No, I do not know what their name means nor will I ever know. Their music is extremely heavy on the guitar and drums, it’s fast paced, Nayuta is screaming mid song, sometimes he’s rapping, it’s a good time. Occasionally, Ryo is forced to look God in the eyes as he’s forced to play the synth and the bass at the exact same time, and despite the challenge, it always sounds good. Couldn’t they just have one of the guitarists do that? Guess not. Anyways, some of my favorites of their songs are MANIFESTO, SCATTER, BREAK IT DOWN, GET MYSELF, EGOIST, GETTING HIGH, and WORLD IS MINE. And, yes— all of those titles are officially in all caps, and in English. I also really like their cover of Kyoran Hey Kids!!, it’s pretty cool. I kind of hyped them up too much but if you listen I hope you enjoy

I was hesitant to add Fantôme Iris since you said you like more pop rock BUT they do have some melancholy bangers. Their music is vkei! They have a lot of strings in their songs , but in a more…goth way than argonavis. Felix’s va, Arthur Conant Lounsberry, is seriously amazing and I love everything he’s done, in and out of AAside. Yeah I….I don’t know how else to describe their music other than It is Vkei. They also have two guitarists, and sometimes one of them plays the piano. So…here’s some songs: Gin no Yuri, Hitsugi no Naka no C’est la vie, XX in Wonderland, Rhapsodia, and historie. I think rhapsodia is a masterpiece. Also , based on what you’ve told me I think you’d like historie most out of all of these? If you’d wanna hear some of their covers, I recommend 1/3 no Junjou na Kanojo. Um. And only that one. I’ve only listened to the one cover it’s really good I promise.

Next up is HAPPY FUN TIMES MUSIC: Fujin RIZING! They have only had one sad song so far, there’s some crazy lore behind that one….Fujin Rizing is apparently Ska, but I’m a fucking loser and I don’t know what that is or if Fujin Rizing really is Ska. So don’t take my word for that one. What I CAN say is that they have trombone and saxophone in their songs! The focus of the band is to have fun, and that’s exactly what their songs do tbh. You just need to listen to it I like their stuff a lot actually. Some favorites: Banzai RIZING!!!, SWORD!, Run Gun Run, Furareta Otoko No Love Letter, and Jokyou Jokyou Ittekimasu! They also have a cover of HOT LIMIT that goes so unbelievably hard.

Lastly. Epsilon! They are the electronic group yay.….they have the largest amount of songs per band in the playlist, so very sorry if this song list gets long. I was a super big fan of their music even before I got obsessed with Shu so….Yeah….Their music is the darkest out of all the bands, Shu is a emo little fuck and makes sure everyone knows it. They’re the only consistently dual vocal band pre-Kimisute, which is super cool, I love how Shu and Haruka’s voices sound together…Uh, not much else to say honestly , Stream epsilon phi 👍👍👍👍👍 So here’s some songs so you can do that. (Clears throat), Hikari No Akuma, Cynicaltic Fakestar, End of Reason, Play with You, Sake it LOVE!, YUMENOATO, re:play, and finally The song thag gives me diseases: Orthros. They also have a Shu Self Realization song, Raison d’etre. I also wanted to say, Haruka has two solos that are honestly some of my favorite all time AAside songs: Egoistic Sai Phi and Heroic. They both do a really lovely job of capturing Haruka’s most important points as a character….Kanata also canonically wrote a song for epsilon Um. It’s trash. It’s called I’m picking glory, it’s really bad, if you want to listen to a really terrible song listen to that one. Some really good epsilon covers are Enigmatic Feeling, Roki and WATASHIGA MOTENAINOWA DOU KANGAETEMO OMAERAGA WARUI 🫡🫡. Epsilon also has a YouTube channel where they did some vocaloid covers, most of them are bad, but you should check them out anyways. I’m picking glory is on that channel

Akward Class Favorites: The Playlist 2024

Every time I get to the end of Akward Class Favorites I feel 2 things. The first is that I've won/accomplished something and the second is that of thankfulness or gratitude. This blog is for me to use as a visual and written journal/scrapbook of my life, among many other things, but it's also pictures and feelings and words and opinions, that I get to share with other people and that is cool to me. I appreciate anyone who takes a moment to consume any of this. That being said before I can officially close out ACF 24, I got one more kinda phat playlist for y'all. It's smaller than other years, but there's still almost 3 hours worth of music here, which is more than enough to find something you'll enjoy, so put in the work.

Notes On How To Consume This Playlist:

The song that came out in 2024 will be clearly marked.

There is a story/flow that I tried to create once again, but you do not need to know any of that to follow along with the playlist. You can listen in order, shuffle, pick and choose, do whatever you want.

That being said if you’re following along from the beginning and reading along, the anecdotes that follow many of the songs aren’t really apart of that story, they’re just extra pieces of sometimes “personal” information that I include because it’s fun for me and I talk/share too much.

When I’m collecting YouTube links for these songs, I’ll often find a live or alternate version that I really like and will share that instead, or in addition to, the original/studio version. I will note when I do this, however the full Spotify playlist will have the “correct” version.

I listened to Night Vision and Diosa; loved them both so I found this playlist on Spotify called ‘This Is Mareux’, downloaded it, and listened to the entire thing while on a long walk last night. I wasn’t very familiar with his music, but I do remember his song The Perfect Girl being very popular a few years ago. What genre would you say his music is? I was perplexed by this lol.

I tried out the Metro 2033 Redux demo and it seems cool. I got as far as meeting Bourbon and made it through the tunnels before taking a break. Who is your favourite character in the series? I’ll need to look into the books then.

As a genre, it’s dark-wave! If you like this kind of sound I would also recommend She Wants Revenge, it’s one of my favorite bands.

if you're still jamming with this (and have a background of liking more hardcore music), your next stop could be I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. more intense metal sound, screamo, less popular but an underrated banger imo. you also get the origin story of the infamous Demo Lovers who star in Three Cheers.

if you're more of a pop/pop-punk person, you can wander over to Danger Days: True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys instead. be warned, this album sounds a fair bit different from their other ones. not everyone likes it at first.

extensive lore is available about black parade and three cheers, if you know where to look (which, seemingly, i don't). most basic place to start for a narrative guide to those is genius.com, where all/most all of the lyrics and how they relate to the overall narrative and themes are broken down.

plenty of art, stories, and fanwork (such as fanfic, fan comics, and animatics) are available for these albums, especially three cheers (which has separate fanons/fanworks for You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison, I'm Not Okay, and The Ghost of You). for these (at least three cheers), official music videos don't tend to relate to the canon/storyline of the album itself.

on ao3, many songs and albums have their own fandoms (searching up my chem returns 21 results, last i checked)

for danger days, there's many places to go:

-> for one, the comics themselves written by gerard way (and shaun simon, illustrated by becky cloonan, absolutely gorgeous) which totally aren't available online for free

-> the music videos for this album directly tie to/make up danger days' canon, so those are also a great source

-> once you're familiar with danger days' canon, there's this great fan comic by @gkdeamon called White Light (as far as I know, there's no complete/linear series yet, but they post plenty of awesome fanart and snippets from their Alternate Universe)

i know this is... a LOT, but take it slow, one thing at a time. start with the music. i've been into mcr for over a year now and i haven't watched most of the things on this list yet. no need to rush!
