I absolutely adore your art style! Do you have any tips? Specifically for the fairies cause I am struggling to draw them.

Im gonna be real, the best art advise anyone can give you is to use references and to break complicated stuff down into easier shapes. for example:

this is my basic body skeleton! i always start with the circle of the head and work my way down to the feet. i have highlighted some part of the body which are actually just simple shapes.

the center line down the middle of the torso also helps me draw on collars, bra cups, ties, or any other more difficult clothing more accurate!

However i have to ask you, are you comfortable while you draw?

I remember when I first started drawing digital, i was really uncomfortable with the basic set up of my program. The white canvas and the light setting of the program was really bright and irritated my eyes. And the contrast of the pure black I used for drawing wasn't really helping. sketching and doing line art was my least favorite part of drawing because of this.

you don't have to draw on a white canvas, you can also use multiple colours for sketching if you wanted. Once I stoppend using a pure white canvas I noticed i stopped staring at a empty canvas not knowing what i wanted to draw anymore!

also sometimes when a drawing doesn't want to look right, i switch back to traditional. idk why but when my brain sometimes struggles with a specific pose or character design, it comes to me a lot more easier when I switch back onto paper. i guess the change of scenery opens up the creativity again haha.

don't be afraid to simplify stuff, you don't have to draw everything! As long as it still translates to the thing, it should be fine.

but Gradient maps! god how I love my gradient maps, it just makes the colours pop! I never draw without it anymore. I always pick the sunset gradient, put it in Linear light mode and put it on 10% (cus its really saturated on 100%)

usually i have it on while i sketch and line, and turn it off so i can properly colour and shade. i turn it back on at the end again

the clip studio assets has a lot of beautiful stuff in there created from other users. (a good amount for free too) for example I got the lace pattern of my shawl from there. and its really easy to import the downloaded stuff into the program.

now this is a drawing hack that blew my mind when I first saw it! i use it all the time and I just have to share this!

whenever you want to draw something random like sparkles, stars, bubbles, feathers, falling leaves, or anything that you want to float around your characters, position them in the form of a triangle.

its even better if you put two points of the triangle closer together and then the third further away. this makes it look random but still looking appealing to the eye, and not oddly placed.

now that thats out of the way! Fairies! The one thing i struggled with when drawing them first is their hair. I suggest looking through the fop tag to see how other people have drawn them and take inspiration from your favorites and make up your own. (do not trace tho! that should be obvious!)

when I draw hair I think of it separated in two parts, the front and the back. I usually start with the front hair pieces, then draw in the jaw, ears and rest of the head, then continue with the back section of the hair.

the only outliers of this are Timmy and Peri. when I draw Timmy (Ymmit as well) I start with his hat, before drawing his hair. Since I draw Peris hair-swirl over his hairline, i start drawing his upper back hair style first before drawing his head and then his mullet.

wings can also be tricky. the fairy wings i have given then have a more butterfly look. if you also want to base off the wings to real life animals or bugs you can use them flying as references to. Or you could even cut out the wing shape out of paper, fold it in the middle and take pictures in the angle you desire.

I hope this somehow helped, I thought about what could have helped me if I had known it sooner. even if most of these were for generic drawing.

Thank you!! I found them in Clip Studio Paint's downloadable assets and finally got around to using them! Haha. I absolutely love them, they give a good amount of texture without being too obvious. They reminded me of the textures in "Yotsuba!" (A fantastic manga)

I made this color palette on Clip Studio Paint that’s mostly made up of weed colors and colors eyedropped from real cannabis nugs but I couldn’t overtly say that it’s drug related so I went with another angle instead and I’m lowkey shocked that I got as many downloads as i did LMAO

i use huion’s kamvas pro 12 (model GT-116) and clip studio paint pro. most brushes are default, but there's a few i've either made or found on clip studio paint's assets page (where other artists make sets that are free for download) 🥰 (ps to anyone seeing this: this is listed in my bio for ur convenience mwah)

i like digital more bc of the convenience of using any medium i want i think. i'm actually the worst color-er (that's not a word 😭 but you get my meaning) in the world, and traditional art only makes that so much more obvious </3

i still like traditional a whole lot, and i have over a decade's worth of black + white realistic, pencil art in a box. it's special idk :) and if i'm just out and about i still sketch realism traditionally, but i like that digital art has allowed me to try and develop color skills, and really heighten realism and even launch stylized art for me. rn it's my fav, but who knows, watch me revert to traditional 3 years from now 🤷‍♀️💛

Maybe because he has spent so much time with Vernon and hoshi but nevertheless he is a vocalist who is more comfortable than not with dancing. Idk of he can freestyle an eight count yet but definite improvement from where he was in adore u. As for choreo like thanks, idk if there is one bc its a mixture of many genres and styles characteristic of certain choerographers (3/).There's Paula Abdul in the transitions, Bob fosse in the staging, KK Harris in the speed and smoothness, and a little of Fred astire in the grace. Then underneath all of that is the physical movement with modern, contemporary jazz, and soft hip hop. Quite a few formally trained dancers come to mind. Victoria, Fei and Jia (formerly of miss A) Winwin (NCT) Cheng Xiao (WJSN) in traditional Chinese dance. Daisy (Momoland) Yein (Lovelyz) in ballet. Gayoung and Junyeol (Stellar) in jazz (3/)Woosung (Snuper) Kyungil (formerly of History) Hwall (The Boyz) and Momo (Twice) all did contemporary. Sinb (gfriend) was also heavily involved in the jazz dance scene in her youth. Im sure I've forgotten some people but there has been a definite increase in the number of idols with studio training. Before it used to be only Stephanie and Lee Joon. Thats not to say theyve kept up with technique but it comes through in how they prepare themselves for certain moves or phrases (5/).Foot over knee isn't ideal but a stylistic decision. If you want to see a performance taht combinds good technique with artistry, I encourage you to check out the six flying dragons stage at ultra dance festival. Banging choreo, song is a tune, and everyone does well. Believe it or not, JYP and SM actually have had some of the most well balanced groups in terms of dancing. More so in the past but pretty reliable in making sure their dancers don't get hurt because theyre doing something wrong (6)

ahhh i hope everything went well with the surgery!and yes she is an absolute queen!! technical approach + thinking about something musically + putting a lot of emotions in a song isn’t! impossible! to do! all! at once!!!ooh movement vs final shape, what’s the difference? like the transition to the move verse making sure the final pose looks nice? ooh are hoshi and vernon the better dancers in the group or? also yeah i don’t know much about the technical aspects of dancing but boo, to me, seems to at least have some control over his body when it comes to dancing? alskdjf idk what im trying to say. like idk if he’s doing things technically right, but i do like how his dancing looks like to my eyes but hooray! im glad that all the members have been improving at least in their dance! i went back and rewatched a lot of jeonghan fancams, and although i cant see anything personally in terms of what he’s doing right and what he’s doing wrong, watching him was a real pleasure!! ohhh thank you for answering the question about thanks!! i should look into those choreographers bc i quite frankly have no knowledge about them! and ahh ur kpop knowledge seems to expand vaster than mine. i do know a lot of these groups but i didn’t know a lot of them had people actually formally trained, nor that there were significantly fewer people in the past. but i feel as though bc the market just keeps getting more saturated, ur bound to find more people formally trained in dancing of some sort? and im sure having formal training is an asset when companies do pick trainees so ? and alsjdf i was about to ask that, that whether or not any of them maintained what they learned in the studio, esp since a lot of ppl become trainees at such a young age, they may not necessarily continue those more private dance lessons? im not sure how trainee life works but. i just watched that performance and it was absolutely gorgeous!!!! its really amazing when groups can come together and put together spectacular performances like that one wow that was really good...the girl in the beginning (stephanie i think?) stole the entire performance but thats just me. i couldnt leave my eyes off her she was the highlight for me. oh jyp too? im not surprised about sm since they’re pretty ok with voice technique, so it would make sense theyd be good about dance technique too, but jyp hmm thats so interesting! although i guess compared to singing, dancing is a bit more, structured in society’s eyes? im sure people realize the importance of not overexerting and damaging ur actual physical body (whereas it wouldnt be /as/ obvious with ur voice i suppose?) so maybe they realize that at jyp but laksdj im glad like the big three at the v least i think should have the money and resources to make sure their trainees and idols aren’t hurting themselves while they do their job (idk what ** is doing but you know)
