a little s19 (or s20?) sketch of tucker and brick heh.. i might be going crazy
some yapping under
basically. after the whole fight in s13 tucker runs away, now as the meta. and as the rest are doing whatever brick sees him missing, with doc missing too, goes back in to look for tucker. he finds him, but he runs. so he runs too, without telling any of the reds/his team.
brick is actually miltary-trained. just in a different country. so he's still able to hold his ground against basically a powerhouse. he still gets beaten whenever he encounters the meta. its a constant struggle of getting to tucker and finding a way to get him home, back to the reds and blues, no matter how much he says he "needs to find church". he chases tucker all over the galaxy. eventually he finds the reds (and caboose) again, even for a brief second.
they escape, sarge still dies. and brick steals tuckers sword, a panicked angry filled attempt to bring tucker home and end all this. he rushes back to Outpost 1A. restless and in a state that displays how much he has not slept and is basically a paranoid state, wayy more talkative compared to his usual quietness.
tucker arrives. they fight for the last time. they get tucker back, and brick gets stabbed.
hes rushed to the hospital, and in post canon comes back finally able to relax with tucker back and well. they hug and its all awesome and everyone does their weird shit now they're retired
i like rvb a normal amount hi pls pls ask me anything abt them pls opls
#bkanvas' art#rvb#lavernius tucker#brick ong#something something. a red solider and the blue solider under the orange light while being bathed in blues#as the black and orange armor turns turqouise#pleaseeeee talk to me about my tucker and brick craze#i love bricker#something hilarious about the full circle of having your eye shot out to getting stabbed by the same guy both by accident#but the second one seems more purposeful#brick lives. btw.. just cause tone wise i think its weird that as tucker is regaining his own control he loses another person#like itd be sad and angsty but tucker should get a win when he's doing his best to recover#oh im going mad i loveee them theyre fun they're so so fun#i love playing with them like dolls#the fun of running after someone and wanting to bring him home. and in the end accomplishing it but at what cost.#oh the fun

I don't know if you still take headcanon asks but if you do, please please talk about Bricker Applebees I just read your fic of him and Aelwyn (ate I fear) and he's so important to me like angry middle child is so important.
i am always taking headcanon asks especially from you cuz your's are so so wonderful!!
bricker is truly middle kid to his core. the thing is that like, he really didn't used to be angry. when he was younger his defining role in his family was that he was the quieter kid, the smart kid, at least to the adults in his life, though his siblings know that he's always been a little shit and smart ass.
bucky and kristen were pretty much raised right alongside each other, but bricker is very much the little brother, which will truly always annoy him to his core though he will never let his siblings know that. i think he's always been a little jealous of kristen and bricker's relationship which only gets that much worse when kristen moves away and bucky is the only one she can actually talk to.
a lot of his anger stems from the fact that literally everything in his life was upset by his sister leaving, and even if he gets why she left that doesn't mean that his life wasn't totally fucked up by it. his family went from being held in high regard in their community to being pitied and shunned. kids he grew up with in church won't talk to him anymore and even at home things are so much worse.
he went from being the quiet middle kid that could slip into the background and do his own thing to being watched constantly by his parents. all of a sudden, they were paying attention to the fact that he says stuff under his breath and rolls his eyes and makes shitty jokes and they Do Not like it.
he is angry because his life used to be good. it used to be easy when he could exist in his sister's shadow, but that shadow is gone now. he has questions he's not allowed to ask and a sister that he isn't allowed to see even though bucky gets to and his parents eyes on him constantly and. he's just angry.
#sorry this got away from me i love bricker so so much#he cares so deeply and he is so quiet and kind but god he is angry and tired and it's hard to be kind with the amount of pressure on him#also he's gay so there is that#d20#fhjy#dimension 20#fantasy high#bricker applebees#kristen applebees#bucky applebees#bird answers

feeling suuuuuuper normal over the fact that doc and stubing call each other "Merrill" and "Adam"
bcs like if you watch the show nobody else on the crew calls them by their first names. In fact, the only people who call them by their first names are old friends and lovers (and maybe the occasional like, passenger but that's always more of like a formality thing). And Doc and Stubing aren't old friends... they met when Stubing came to take over the Pacific Princess... and so, logically.............
#i have thought about this TOO MUCH#does genuinely anyone else in the world see this or am I the only doc/stubing truther out there#ive seen doc/gopher which is WEIRD#the love boat#doctor adam bricker#captain stubing

that finale made me so emotional. i cried at all of their scenes in Ankarna's realm. anyway, here's some bad kids senior year head canons.
Kristen: Her wish for a sister is filled by Bucky, crying in her room late at night and praying together. After talking to Jawbone they learn that there are grounds to remove Bricker and Cork from their parents' home. Kristen is the only one given the option of emancipation--instead, she asks Jawbone to adopt her as well.
She falls back onto old patterns with Tracker. But they're a little older and wiser, so they see it happening and take a step back. Not a break up, but a readjustment. With her academics finally not reliant on deadlines, Kristen dedicates herself to her pantheon. They work with Lucy to bring Ruvina back to her sister, and Kristen finds herself in awe of the dedication she sees.
Fig: She puts all her time into the Bottomless Pit, something it desperately needs. Often she tells Sandra-Lynn she's sleeping at Gilear's, and vice versa, and stays with Ayda instead. On her 18th birthday her parents sit her down and explain that she can live with Ayda officially, if she wants to. Just as long as she remembers she'll always have a room with both of them.
She brings Sandra-Lynn on Complicated Women, first to interview, and then as a permanent guest host. They talk about womanhood as something living and changing and queer and complicated. It's her mom who encourages her when Lola Embers drops Ruben. They rally all the rock-hating souls and cordon off part of the recording studio. Fig never goes in there, but from what she's heard, his music has gotten better in the absence of Kipperlilly's judgement.
Fabian: Somehow, he ends up being the one to train the new dog. The Hangman is jealous to a ridiculous degree, so he spends a lot of time managing that. He starts looking into a sea-worthy vessel for after graduation, spends hours at the Compass Points Library learning how to navigate. Learning sea shanties is part of all that, of course, and has nothing to do with the way his baby sibling stares at him while he practices.
Mazey teaches dance to kids while he finishes school. She's so kind it almost hurts, and Fabian has no choice but to learn to accept love. He "lets" Gorgug skip Bloodrush under the condition of weekly movie nights, which only sometimes are expanded to the rest of the Bad Kids. The radio in his room crackle to life sometimes, with little messages from Bill when he's close enough to the material plane.
Riz: Appointed as vice president, he quits all but the AV club. He makes a bedtime pact with Sklonda, and for the first time in a very long time, they are both getting enough sleep. Someone mentions ace and aro identities to him, and he's awake enough for it click.
He finds a new scholarship for Aguefort students, and it looks scam-y so he does some investigating. It easily traces right back to Seacaster gold and Fabian. He's thankful for the cover and accepts the money with an understanding that they won't talk about it. He doesn't check, but the scholarship is offered every year after that.
Adaine: She spends the summer with Aelwyn tracking down their mom. She doesn't need revenge, but she needs to know her mom will never hurt anyone ever again. She feels Ankarna in the hot sun and wonders if that's the difference between revenge and justice. They take the long way back to Solace, the Hand-van paddling across the ocean.
When school starts, she works with Kristen to turn her inheritance into resources. Student who can pay for some of their components still do, but everyone gets what they need to learn. On the first day of class, she's asked about her summer prophecies, and tells off Tiberia for relying on her for lessons.
Gorgug: His senior year MCAT is signed on the first day by Lydia, who's teaching barbarian classes for the year. She gives him permission for independent study, and Henry gives him a shop key so he can do classwork whenever he wants. The rest of his time is spent perfecting Barbificer skills and creating a program to run at Aguefort the next year.
Mary Ann offers her quokky pet skills to help remodel his homonculous. The result is much cuter and more functional than before. She still names her highest level pet Cloaca in honor of the original, much to Gorgug's chagrin.
After graduation, the Bad Kids move in trios and pairs, and they always reconvene on the Summer Solstice, the anniversary of Ankarna's resurrection.
Kristen splits her time between Solace and Fallinel and Mountains of Chaos, the places where temples to her pantheon stand. Adaine and Riz rent an apartment in Bastion City, where they both continue school. Gorgug stays in Elmville, teaching at Aguefort and working on the side to start his own school. Fabian takes to the sea, bringing Fig and Ayda and Mazey with him.
They save the world again, a few times, but only when they want to.

Fig Isn't Meant to Be Cassandra's Paladin, Bucky Applebees Is
As most of us have realized since Ankarna's original domain was revealed, Fig is clearly supposed to be her paladin. The archdevil of rebellion united with the goddess of conviction and justice would be an incredible force for fighting wrongs, for inspiring revolutions, and creating true positive change.
But Fig wasn't wrong that Cassandra would be immensely helped by having a paladin swear themselves to her. Even though Kristen is an extraordinary cleric, she's only one person.
When we first meet Bucky Applebees in Junior Year, he is filled with doubt and uncertainty. He's a paladin of Helio, the same religion (cult) that Kristen fled from and he has been forced to take on the role of protector to his younger brothers that Kristen once held as the eldest daughter. He hasn't told his parents about the gold Kristen gave them, he thinks he's going to hell for lying, he misses his sister but thinks she's living in sin (maybe?), and he's curious about what beer tastes like (but never mind, he doesn't want to know. He bets it would be great. For sinners, would love it.).
When Cassandra dies/is kidnapped, Kristen first feels a connection to her goddess again when she thinks of how her doubt and uncertainty led to her escaping that life and finding freedom from Helio and her parents.
Ally: "I think she spent so much time trapped and feeling, like, super wrong, that doubt and mystery actually feel like a really beautiful escape, and more true." Brennan: "The concept of escape hits you. And for a moment you hear (clicking). And all of the locks on the windows and all of the locks on the doors of this room just open slightly. A little bit of divine magic flows through you....[W]hen you thought of escape, you thought of, yeah, embracing the unknown gives you the strength to leave a bad situation. Escape."
Bucky, Bricker, and Cork are still trapped and now that Brennan's brought Bucky back into the story, I don't think the season is going to end with Kristen leaving her little brothers in an abusive home life when there's every possibility for them to find safety and acceptance at Morded Manor.
I believe that if Kristen is able to help her brothers get away from their parents and the Church of Helio*, then Bucky is going to need a new god to follow. Why wouldn't Bucky, a scared, uncertain 14 year-old kid, not follow a goddess in the image of his older sister, whose very essence is that "whenever you're in the dark, I'm here holding your hand."
Kristen has always had a hard time doing the work of growing her church, of telling people about Cassandra. I think she'd find it easy to tell her siblings all about Cassandra when she's trying to help them find enough doubt and uncertainty in what they've known all their lives, that they'll have the courage to escape too.
*Also, there's definitely going to be further exploration of the Church of Sol, and by extension the Church of Helio, as they were 100% involved in what happened to Ankarna and Kristen is probably going to try to keep Bobby Dawn away from Bucky, just as she absolutely rejected Buddy Dawn becoming her brother's mentor.

In my notes during this whole season I’ve kept track of loose ends and just other plot points I think could make for a great senior year (which now seems likely that we will get down the line in the future) and this finale gave me almost everything I wanted and more so here’s what I think we’re gonna see (plus things that I just rly want to see lol)
-first and foremost, BARON IS STILL IN RIZ’S BRIEFCASE!!! the spectral mordred manor probably is not there as that was a haven sent out by cassandra during all the divine interventions in falinell and the bad kids dove in as a last second decision, but baron is still definitely there. ‘I am somewhere always close to Riz Gukgak’ and while everyone’s journey with their sexuality happens on their own time and Riz shouldn’t have to come out if he doesn’t want to yet, now that he’s coming to terms that his friends might not always be together in the way he wants to I think it would be healing for him to fully confront and accept his aro aceness and have support with that and realize that even if they can’t be physically together his friends won’t leave him for other relationships
-Fabian is getting a new baby sibling, but that is not the only sibling he’s ever had. James Whitlaw made references to his half siblings from Bill that he killed and ate, I am POSITIVE that at least one is still out there and probably has it out for Fabian (as Bill married Hallariel, raised Fabian, and dragged his ship into solace to give him a new life) and an arc where Fabian has to defend himself against an older sibling while growing to love his younger would be amazing to see
-kalina, bakarath, bobby, and buddy ofc, I’ve been wondering where kalina has been this whole time, and I want to see more of bobby getting what he deserves. Cassandra’s been through a fucking lot this season but her familiar apparently might be a big bad along with arianwen again so sorry cass but the cat’s gotta go. she still directly got pok killed riz deserves to hunt her down and avenge him a second time
-speaking of, Arianwens been making moves in sylvaire! Adaine and aelwyn will surely kill her but from the looks of it even though she got her magic taken away she may have some sort of power. Cant wait for these sisters to be able to live immortal lives without their parents looming over them
-BUCKY APPLEBEES!! bucky, a paladin of cassandra, gathering the courage to ask Kristin for help getting bricker and cork out of the Applebees residence, maybe moving into mordred and everyone immediately being enamored with these cute little boys who honestly might turn out to be mumple instead of wanting to attend the adventuring academy and Kristin being so happy they aren’t being raised in a pressure cooker anymore and affected like she and bucky were affected, happy that they can be normal kids (and in being around Kristin’s other sisters, adaine and fig, Kristin ends up getting that sister she always wanted in bucky too)
-I’m so happy Fig is getting what she wants and realizing she doesn’t want to finish Aguefort, and it would be awesome if she got a new character and the bad kids took on a new party member for the year played by Emily so all the intrepid heroes are still together, but Fig could be hanging out between mordred and Seacaster and leviathan and Hell, writing music and helping Kristin spread word of the cassandra/Ankarna pantheon through it, and since in sophomore year we saw Penelope dayne daybreak and Johnny spells all kicking it in hell maybe Jace (who ik was a minion mostly but hey he could be evil on his own) is down there with some other bad kid nemeses
-more Galicea and Sol. Sol canonically was all for bringing Ankarna into the pantheon of himself, his sister galicea, his other sister cassandra, and his son helio. It was Sol’s followers who saw Ankarna brought in as another god of the sun and brought about the ruin and corruption of Ankarna alongside the house of sunstone in order to get more power for themselves with just the one solar deity existing. Both Sol and Galicea (and maybe helio) have been hardcore shaped by their followers, Galiceas wolfish side being repressed by the high elf state of falinell and being brought back through wolfsong, and Sol with the human clerics of highcourt scheming to make him the only god with a sun domain despite him officiating and welcoming Ankarna as his sister in law through the marriage. Plus if we get galicea arcs we defo get Kristin and tracker messy lesbians arcs
-Gorgug perfecting his new subclass he invented and Kristin enjoying being student body president! She deserves it, I hc that the only academic sort of thing Kristin cared about before this year was the lgbtq+ club and now she’s extending that energy into everything with the help of Riz, who cannot get off of coffee someone help this poor boy. And since Ragh and shellford have graduated I want more Torek Railgrinder, she’s so cool let’s flesh her out more. Gorgug thinking about how to teach other multiclass barbarian/artificers and perfecting all his awesome inventions (and dating both Unit and Mary Ann bc it’s what his poly ass deserves)
Basically the potential plot I see for senior year is almost a mirror of sophomore year: baron getting out and fighting Riz and the bad kids defeating him for good, the bad kids heading to leviathan after hearing rumors of a pirate calling themselves a child of Bill Seacaster looking for Fabian, heading to falinell to see what’s new with wolfsong and tracker and maybe seeing some changes in Galicea or Sol, heading to hell and meeting up with Fig for a portion (she doesn’t go to their school anymore! she ain’t gotta go on this senior year spring break quest!) who’s been hanging out in hell, tracking Jace and other enemies, establishing her power as an archdevil of the first layer of hell, writing awesome music, and finally back to sylvaire to figure out what the fuck is up with kalina and arianwen and this weird new god buddy has and they all graduate and head their separate ways but they still love each other and see each other all the time they’re family and they’re badass and they’re perfect

Because I need to let this hyperfixation go wild before I can move on, here is a few of my Cora Levinson / Crawley Headcanons:
-She never got along with her mother, but she will still defend her and her family to her in-laws
-She was kind of a wild child in disguise. She always had great manners and presented really well, but she got Harold into trouble. Would drink her dad's whiskey and smoke his cigars and NOONE.EVER.KNEW. (Except Harold)
-She never was naive enough to believe Robert loved her. But her prospect wasn't great so she decided to marry someone she knew would treat her well.
-She's always known about Jane. I think she had a moment where she woke up and actually heard them in the next room, but she was feverish and so she probably had feverish images of them sleeping together and until the Bricker situation, was convinced Robert had slept with her. (But they talked it out after home girl's "very well, if you can tell me you've never.. "monologue).
-She is a sharp shooter, better than anyone at Downton but no one except Robert knows (and Thomas)
-she can whistle so loud with her fingers, lost Robert in a crowd once in Italy, could see him panicking, waved and called his name but he couldn't see her. Very unlady-like but Robert was impressed (and turned on)
-I think she writes to Tom's mom regularly, sends pictures and has Sybbie draw things and write things for her grandma. Has offered to have her come but the mom refused. Though she always responds.
-Even though the first few years at Downton were hard, Violet wasn't all that horrible and Cora realized the first time her mother visited after Mary was born that she was less on edge with Violet than she was with Martha. And somehow that hurt her.
-i know in the show she tried so hard not to step on Suzanne's toes. But that changed after the wedding. I want to believe she would have traveled to New York to help Rose with the delivery. They write and phone all the time. Martha checks in on them often too. She cried when Rose told her the child's middle name was Cora ❤️ and considers her her grandchild.
-She loves thunderstorms. It reminds her of the midwest (And Roberts is afraid of them actually, I HC that that's the first time he went to her room early in their marriage not for their marital duties but in case "she was scared" and she let him get away with it)
-She used to love being barefoot in the rain as a child. (Before the money, before her parents aspirations at high society) and she misses it. That's the one thing she wants to do before she dies. Robert promises he ll make it happen for her once her treatment is underway.

FHJY characters that deserved better:
Nara - I love her. Just want to wrap her in a big blanket and protect her
Buddy - All the Rat Grinders I guess but he didn't even get the chance to have a real friend and I hope he gets help
Bricker and Cork - someone save these boys. Bucky is on his way there but they're going to have to go to Mumple if their parents find out Bucky has questioned Helio
Helio - honestly, he needs his version of Wolfsong
FHJY characters that deserve worse
Simeon du Vayne
#I have strong feelings about du Vayne based on nothing but one line#dimension 20#fantasy high#Evan Freem also deserves worse#I know he was eaten but he needs worse than that

Actions that are valid and not selfish can have negative consequences while still being valid and not selfish. Just because those negative consequences came about as a result of the action doesn’t mean it was the person who took the action’s fault.
This is about Kristen Applebees.
Yes, she left home and by extension her brothers. We must remember she was kicked out. She didn’t have a choice to leave. But even if she did, it's not selfish to leave a toxic environment with parents who clearly don’t value you beyond your religious role. In a perfect world, Kristen wouldn’t have had to leave her brothers behind when she left. And she clearly loves them and missed them. See her scene at the start of Sophomore Year, where she was audibly in tears leaving them gold. I don’t take her not going in as a sign she doesn’t care, if anything it's a sign of how much she cares. I take it as her knowing if she goes in and has to face even one of her brothers, she’ll never be able to leave.
Now that Bucky’s back, we actually get to see the impact Kristen’s absence left. Mac and Donna are clearly stricter and meaner in their parenting, being reintroduced bullying Bucky. Bucky is, quite frankly, a nervous wreck who thinks he’s going to Hell. He’s clearly torn between his religion saying Kristen is a sinner and the fact he missed her so much and wants his big sister back. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bucky has been trying to be The Good Kid/peacemaker since Kristen has been gone. You could say her leaving was the catalyst for these events.
And none of that is her fault.
Mac and Donna don’t have to double down and bully their remaining kids. There’s probably a world where they are normal people and realised they fucked up and did better by their sons. But the fact is, they didn’t, they remained abusers, when they didn’t have to. Notice how Bucky doesn’t refute Kristen when she says she had a hard time with their parents. On some level, he must know what their parents do and say isn’t normal. He doesn’t seem to resent Kristen for leaving, even if her absence left him in a bad place.
The weird wave of Kristen hatred has me nervous for when we see Bucky again/if we see Bricker or Cork. I know they won’t be okay but some part of me wants them to be for fear of rancid takes that what happened is Kristen’s fault.

As another Slovak. One thing about Slovaks and Czechs (from my personal exerience), we constantly bricker over who's language is harder.
I had Czech classmate and we used to speak or say tonguebrakers in the other's language to prove our language is harder. (However Slovaks and Czechs are like siblings, we fight but we love eachother and stick together when it matters).
That being said, I can totally see Viktor and reader fighting about whos language is harder, then Jayce going, "I mean, neither of them (languages) are that hard." Then reader and Viktor turning to him in disbelief and immediately cursing him out in their respective languages (and probably giving him a 45 minute lecture why their languages are hard)
omg this is EPIC
i love the idea of this lil constant and yet polite battle of “we have it harder than you” like this is super duper cool
jayce would go crying to mel about it like he just keeps on saying he didn’t understand anything but they were both mad at him and he is looking at mel with big eyes like 🥺 she has to reassure him that they’re just mad at each other BUT HE KEEPS ON WINING BECAUSE HE DOESN’T WANT YOU GUYS TO BE MAD AT EACH OTHER

Downton Abbey Fashion 57 - indoors fashion in 1924
Cora’s day wardrobe this season is a mixed bag. Some have me go, “oh, so pretty!”; others have me think they really want her to look like a grandma now. I realize that I’m saying this as a 2020s person about 1920s fashions, so my perception may be warped.
Granny outfit number one. I’m usually a fan of embroidery, but I think this shirt would look less frumpy if said embroidery reached up to the shoulders. Also if it had literally any other collar. Even a neckline without a collar would’ve been better. The chiffon being a bit more on the peach side rather than puke puce would also help. Meh. Still, this does stay on for season 6.
Pretty boring shirt, but despite my distaste for white on Cora post-Edwardian, it’s at least not as dowdy as the last one. Curiously, this plus a scarf plus a flowery hat is fancy enough for Cora to wear to Rose’s wedding. Who am I to criticize. The lace yoke is nice, the silk satin is shiny, but I mainly took this in for the coat Cora has around her shoulders in the second picture. Printed silk satin, I would guess, and it looks lovely.
One of her loveliest house dresses over the entire show – why does everyone get something in this blue this season? Anyway. A few pin tucks to give the shoulders a little shaping, lace trim galore, one of those fluttery layered skirts that looks even better for most of this being lightweight chiffon. This whole dress appears like a summer day. It comes back next season, as really most of her new indoor outfits of season 5 do.
I’ll never escape bland cream silk satin blouses. This one is a wrap top style with the kind of large collar that plays at being a sailor collar, it’s got some cuffs, some either meant-to-be-beige or strongly yellowed lace to fill out the cleavage V… Nothing wrong with it.
This teal dress is one Cora wears combined with her orange satin coat a lot, especially during her time being courted by Mr Bricker. At least Fellowes didn’t have a red A stitched on it; he’s unsubtle like that. The dress is a bit stiff-looking and rectangular for my taste, but the overall design with the curlicues down the front is really pleasant to look at. When this comes back in season 6, I get a look at the knife-pleated panels inserted into the sides of the skirt.
Another granny blouse, so I guess that qualifies it to stay into the next season. There’s something about this particular shape of short but standing collar that my brain registers as unflattering. The embroidered material is nice though; the peach color with those lilac leaves and pink flowers makes for a nice look overall. It looks rectangular as ever, but what can you do.
Ivory silk satin and a straight-lined rectangle blouse, although I’m inclined to forgive this one because it brings in fringe, a playful element that adds movement to the look. Other than that, the double row of buttons down the front is probably not necessary, but I sure like to look at it, and then we have a little embroidered trim everywhere. Perhaps not surprisingly with my weakness for fringe, I rather like this and happily welcome it back in season 6.
Amidst all the ivory and cream silk satin, I am grateful for a black dress for a change, even if it has this weird little standing collar. Gathered chiffon sleeves, deep V shape over the front (even though here it’s not via the cut but via the decoration); that much we know. And then the majority of the front is covered in leafy cream lace that is framed with embroidered flowers in pink and red shades. Another holdover for the next season.
Heh, this is the sort of uneven grey shade you get by layering a very translucent black chiffon (or, in case of the sleeves, tulle) over a white or off-white base layer. I like it; it’s more cloudy and therefore more interesting to look at than a perfectly even surface color. And then it’s embroidered all over with this web of flowers, very sweet, so this stays into the next season, too.
There is strictly speaking nothing wrong with this. Cora wears her well-established cream satin, it’s got a few pin tucks, and this neckline design adds a point of interest. I’ll flat-out admit that I just personally don’t have a taste for this kind of unbound-tie-through-loophole front design. It shows up several times in the Crawleys’ 1920s outfits, but I never warm up to it. So, I’m glad this is mostly put on background duty for ensembles and coats in season 6.
--------------
We’ll end on something that is to my taste – this glorious day dress Lady Sinderby marches up in to greet her guests. It’s mostly chiffon and all flowers, and it adds up to such a fluttery, breezy look that she may as well pose as a garden fairy. There’s some draping over the chest, some layering in these little triangle panels of the skirt, yet the dress looks almost weightless. Love it.

And what if I tell you my Fight, Flight, Fawn theory for the Appleboys reuniting with Kristen. What then? Going by your age gaps of 2, 4, 8 because they're canon adjacent and the idea of the Applebees having a playpen when three out of four kids were 14, 12 and 10 is too funny. Assuming a reunion between Kris and the younger two happens post her birthday so it's 17, 13 and 9 respectively. Buckys is analysing his actual response we saw from 14 year old him. When I say leave in reference to Kristen, know that I know it wasn't her choice (Mac and Donna when I fucking get you)
Bucky got the Fawn response. I'll be real, when I began theorising that an Applebees brother would feature I thought "Oh god here comes the angst. There will be resentment, Mac and Donna have undoubtedly been talking shit for two years. But we see him and he's happy. He missed her. He hugs her. He wants to hang out. And yeah that probably stems from the fact you'll naturally miss your sibling and the fact he probably had to take the oldest sibling mantle. But he barely even commented on her life and friends (aside from the half baked comment about her living in sin and side eyeing Fig). I was expecting more problematic behaviours to be honest. The theory is he entered full people pleasing mode, desperately tampering down any complicated feelings because he NEEDS to make himself a good brother that Kristen will want to stay for this time (of course not realising Kristen will stay the best she can no matter if he kicks and screams)
Bricker got Fight. Was like 10 when Kris left, and I say this with love, in the absolute throes of puberty. I don't know what it is but this kid just gives me angry vibes, maybe it's the middle child. Very Nico DiAngelo "He looked too young to be so angry". When you're a kid, especially in that horrific period of 10-13 you go to the easy solution which is being mad, and you go to the easy target which is the one who "started" this huge upheaval (read Kristen). To a lesser extent, Bucky, for trying to play big brother (Bricker doesn't even realise this but the anger mostly came from a subconscious desire to preserve Kristen's place in the family for if she comes back).
(Bonus: Once they have a very good conversation and Bricker is reassured Kristen never did stop thinking about and loving him he will cry three years worth of pent up tears and beg her not to leave again)
Cork got Flight. He was only 6 when she left, its been 3 years of experiences (little man went from first grade to third in that time its a Lot). Kristen has physically changed a lot since they last saw each other. All this to say, he takes a minute to recognise this older person who's eyes are all wet at the sight of him. Some part of his brain blocked out memories of her because the way she was just gone one day was so scary to his little brain. When it does register who she is, Cork becomes completely unlike himself and gets shy. He makes Bucky stand close by because all he knows is that 1. This is a heathen who rebuked Helio's light 2. This is Krissy, back after what felt like forever and 3. She's so cool looking and why would someone this cool ever want to talk to him.
(Bonus: She played it off but Kristen's heart did break seeing Cork, the little boy she raised, take a minute to work out who she is, when she never forgot him. Not to quote Taylor but very "And I feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe")
god yeah kristen having partially raised cork only for him not to know who she is anymore/barely recognize her haunts me so much. bucky as a people pleaser is such a good read especially as he is forced into kristen's role as head of the siblings I just. yeah. also angry bricker is so important to me. he got left behind! he's not ok with that and he's gonna be angry. god I just. applebees kids make me crazy this is such a good read.

Hej, for the floriography series: Coreopsis - Jealousy (always love jealous!Robert or jealous!Cora in fanfics)
Darling, thank you for a great prompt! I'm also a sucker for jealousy, but with a side of angst. Instead of coreopsis, I actually went with french marigolds meaning jealousy (hope you don't mind!) based on The Language of Flowers: An Alphabet of Floral Emblems (1857). (x)
This update to The Language of Flowers is based on the maybe something/little headcanon idea I have that Robert and Cora had been near making up before Robert came home from Sheffield and caught Bricker in their room. They seemed friendly enough at Robert's departure that morning (though, I suppose one could argue Robert kisses Cora in front of Bricker to mark his territory); and he seemed so happy to go straight to her room when he got home early that night. His little "I'm glad you're still awake" nearly echoes the joy Cora had at seeing him unannounced in Rosamund's drawing room after she'd come home from being out with Bricker. Ships in the night, these two.
Anyway, I did write a drabble playing with this idea before, but obviously this one is more fleshed out. I also rearranged chapters 4 and 5 (with 4 being the new one) because I'd like these to be in chronological according to when in canon they take place.

Hii! I really loved the hcs from the other request I sent! I hope it's okay if I send a second one! I was wondering if you could maybe do some hcs for little!jiminy cricket and cg!blue fairy
The idea randomly popped up in my head and I thought it'd be cute! :3
I‘ll try {as a late Mother’s Day special}
Little!Jiminy & Cg!blue Fairy Headcanon
The blue fairy behaves like a older sister towards the little cricket
Jiminy also enjoys her company
She would use her wand to do fun games like " flying ", summoning small pixie dust people, etc but is very careful with it
They both would do sing duet together
She‘s a very calm presence, like when her little cricket and a certain fox would brickering, she would sit them both down and help solve their issues
Calypso from Bluey vibes ✨
Jiminy would tell her stories about everything, from his life with Pinocchio, about books he read and many more
And she in return would tell stories about others, from a servant girl who overcome her hardships and finding love to of a Land where fairies, other creatures and pirates live etc. and where you never grow up
Her nickname she gives him are; little cricket, dear, jiminy, love bug, sweetheart, little conscience, little starling/starlight and little poet
Her Nicknames are; mi lady, dear sister, good fairy, mom, Mother {both sometimes}, Ms. Blue {by younger littles} and bright star 🌟
Even when she isn’t with him she always over him, she knows if he or any of her little ones are in need of her or her advice, she‘ll come
She can count of her little ones to overcome any challenges ahead of them together
Hope you like them 🌟

Round 1 - Side B
Propaganda below ⬇️
Kristen
Once known as a Chosen of Helio, Kristen lost faith, found out she was gay, escaped the abusive church, and helps a lonely abused goddess return from the dead and continue the goddess of mystery. She also ends up creating her own god in the middle there, but decides it's kind of super annoying and eventually nopes out.
Kristen might be skirting a couple lines here so I'll provide my reasoning for why I think she might belong in the competition but feel free to choose as you wish. Kristen used to follow Helio, and her entire relationship with religion and Helio is meant to show a story of a queer teen leaving an abusive Christian church (I'm not sure if it's specifically Catholic or not, I'm Jewish and don't really understand the differences very well). Throughout the story Kristen meets Helio, finds out how much of a dick he is, finds out how terrible the Church has been and becomes more aware of how her family and the Church are racist/homophobic/abusive/etc., learns more about the world and breaks her ties with the Church, and then goes to find her own faith and a god worth worshipping.
girl is miserable for so much of the first season. girl is battling the brain demons. girl is battling the actual demons. and the actual angels. and the football coach who she knows from church. girl has brothers named bucky bricker and cork. girl invents a new god and cannot get people to convert to her faith apart from a singular dude named craig because she is so visibly annoyed by her own god. girl is gay and has a werewolf girlfriend. girl is so kinky. girl has a dexterity score of 4. not modifier. score. i'm kissing girl on the mouth i love her a lot.
She was a chosen prophet of Helio but oops she’s a very lesbian and so she has to battle with her faith hating gay people as she realizes she is gay people. Early on dies and goes to heaven and discovers Helio is a frat bro and doesn’t really vibe with that. Eventually dies again and fights past angels to get to Helios office and finds her old principal (who died to resurrect her the first time she died, it’s a long story, watch dimension 20, shits wild). And so he makes a deal to help her if she helps him break out of heaven. And also while she’s in heaven she makes a new god whole cloth out of her current beliefs. (She later finds that god annoying because it’s the embodiment of “YES! WOW! YOU CAN DO IT!!” The god turns from YES! Into Yes? In her changing faith. She later resurrects an old god of dreams who was corrupted). But yeah so she has religious trauma out the wazoo. She went to church camp that was actually a front for a cult within the Helioic faith. Idk if it’s Catholicism exactly cause I’m not catholic but it’s clearly parallel so some real world Christ based religion.
At one point they drop 10 stories because they thought they could use their ribbon to fly. They couldn’t.
her entire arc over fantasy high's first season is realizing she was gay and also that her church and the people in it were basically a cult which like SAMESIES and she does end up going to heaven after dying by slipping on corn and getting incredibly disappointed by the jesus equivalent of her universe (his name is helio and he is a frat boy) and after she's resurrected she makes her own god (not very catholic sorry) and preaches about it (pretty catholic of her tbh.) aside from the religious trauma some other kristen fun facts and highlights are that she once ribbon danced down the center of a spiral staircase and lived, she carried a bible around for a good chunk of her freshman year of high school, and her last name isn't a reference to anything because applebees does not exist in the world of fantasy high.

SCP-166
Catholic deer girl. She’s just nature themed. Wants to have access to a Catholic phone line. But is not allowed to due to it risking the possibility of exposing SCPs to the world. But she has a rosary. Just unhinged.
She was just left in a convent and was raised catholic. But I love her because she has the most unhinged father and she's close to getting there istg
