The Nightmare of Zoldyck (Musical) was gay as fuck and here's why you should watch it.
Bingeing The Nightmare of Zoldyck reminds me just. Just how fucking gay it was??????? And this was made almost 11 years ago???? And it's just so insane and surreal to me?????? They could've added any sort of twist to the Zoldyck Arc and yet the twist they chose was 🌈🏳️‍🌈??? In all fairness, they did also add Hisoka so maybe that's just how it is lmao
Now you may think I'm joking or being delusional—but no I swear THEY MADE IT GAY AS FUCK OK. IT'S ACTUALLY AMAZING
First, we have the obvious; the adorable, blossoming friendship between Gon and Killua. The very reason this arc exists is because Gon refused to let Illumi's teachings corrupt Killua's self-esteem. It's so, so, so touching in the manga and both anime adaptations, but in the musical they just... The songs just made it come off more romantic?
I'm biased, I love the friends-to-lovers development these two undergo, but I swear, take the shipping goggles off and it's still has a subtle if not in-your-face obvious, romantic tone.
Why? First, the presentation. The Zoldycks are introduced by Milluki through song. They each get lines which are backed up by epic music and stage effects, come together for the iconic chant of, "Zoldyck," before ultimately gathering around and sitting down.
Kalluto, Kikyo, Illumi, Silva, Milluki, and Zeno have a family meeting while Killua's hung above them, representing where he is in the dungeon, and right off the bat, you get hit with "forbidden romance" vibes.
Tumblr media
The family talks about what Killua did, what he said, while Killua sings about how he doesn't want to inherit his dad's position. HE ALSO SINGS THIS LINE WHICH IS SO?????
Tumblr media
And he sings a little after Illumi visits him in the dungeon and, y'know, messes with his head even more. He writes a letter of sorts to Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio, telling them they should go to protect them from Illumi and he just sounds SO heartbroken...
Tumblr media
Then we skip forward, this is after the gang has won Gotou's approval. Gon writes a letter, and it's so fucking sweet because it's basically him saying look. Look at Zebro, Gotou, Canary, these people who care for you, who love you. You're not alone, we understand your feelings, ok? AND THIS PANEL IN PARTICULAR IS SO RAPUNZEL SO ROMEO AND JULIET IDK
Tumblr media
And that super serious discussion between Killua and Silva? He gushes about Gon a lot, and they really took some liberties with Silva because this man keeps grinning like he knows his son's got a crush.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course Gon's not gonna back down. Canary asks how their Young Master Killua was like, outside Kukuroo Mountain, and... just look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not gonna include every damn time they sing together but when they finally meet? They're so. so happy. I can't.
And there's this scene after the party (yes they have a goodbye party of sorts for Killua) where Killua thanks Gon for coming to get him and Gon says ofc we're friends and they play around and they're so happy together...
Tumblr media
Look at them they ded
Tumblr media
There's also this moment when it all goes to shit and THIS SONG SLAPS Gon metaphorically slaps Killua out of it too but just. Just listen to it, it made me cry
And since this happens right after the Hunter's Exam, Kurapika and Leorio are still a bit wary of Killua, so while Gon's ecstatic and unwavering about being Killua's friend, the other two sort of bond in the sidelines as well?
Take this shot of leopika dancing. It's short and sweet and they're so stupid but they're at least getting along!!!
Tumblr media
I forgot they bickered a lot, especially during the Hunter's Exam, but now look at them. This isn't the gayest part though, because Leorio finds out there's a hot spring in the Zoldyck mansion... and... yeah... I'll let y'all watch this scene for yourselves but uh, stuff happens and I fucking screamed is all
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LIKE LOOK THESE MFS END UP STAR GAZING TOO COME ON
Tumblr media
They also share a bit in the end where Gon sniffs Zebro??? And he says that Zebro has a similar scent to Leorio??? And leopika turn to each other and go:
Tumblr media
LIKE HELLO?? HELLOOOOO???
And of course, I saved the murder husbands for last. While the gang have their fun, we would sometimes cut to black and these two would be shown, scheming in the dark and talking about their own plans.
They be dropping some bomb ass dialogues tho
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND APPARENTLY ILLUMI GAVE HISOKA A TOUR LMAO
Tumblr media
Mind you, there is no fucking explanation as to why Hisoka's there. His narrative purpose is ofc to sow chaos and stir trouble, look out for Gon or whatever, but why is he here specifically in the Zoldyck Estate is never stated. BUT he does refer to it as a vacation. Twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like sure this is just him being a little shit but COME ON. If Illumi really didn't want him there, he'd have chased Hisoka out, swatting him with a broom while at it. But no. They scheme in the dark and Illumi shows him around and Hisoka says it's a vacation. Wonder who could've invited him.......
This interaction also happens. And I will only be thinking about this for the foreseeable future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HISOKA CHASES AFTER HIM OFFSCREEN IT'S KINDA CUTE AND ALSO RUINING MY LIFE????
Insane that the killugon heart-to-heart, leopika hot spring moment, and hisoillu bickering happen back to back to back. They're all paired off. The way they switch the audience's perspective actually really satisfying. Each couple gets their alone time and it's like seeing the different stages of a relationship. INSANE and HELLA GAY
And, of course, the heart of the cards—easily one of the most iconic lines Hisoka's said, which is, coincidentally, the point of conflict of the entire musical
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Killua's fighting for his life, here's the magician who's basically getting everything he's ever wanted served on a silver platter. This mf is so happy he got to fight Illumi's family lmaoooo
Tumblr media
AND HE SAYS IT TWICE!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ONLY FOR MAMA ZOLDYCK TO MIC DROP WITH THIS IN THE END
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just. I love this musical so much. It used to be my comfort watch when I first got into HxH, and while I joke about how fucking gay it turned out to feel (I'm being serious about it though) I do think it's a great production.
The actors did amazing, the dance/fight sequences and the dialogue were so well done, and it just added so much depth to the Zoldycks, y'know? I do wish Alluka was here, but we all know why she's not... That would've been so fun though.
Anyways, if I've convinced you, then you can watch it here!!!

Fic authors self-rec! ✨ When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you’ve written, then pass on to at least five other writers.
<3 Wow, since I've been writing fanfics for years, I have so many to choose from. But let me stick to my reader-insert-focused darker fics that I post on this account.
Tumblr media
1:
The Man Who Claimed To Be Yours – Fandom: Joker 2019, Pairing: Arthur Fleck/Joker x (Female) Reader. Explicit with lots of warnings. By far my proudest (and smuttiest?) work.
By far a number one position. Not only do you people seem to love it, I have received so many messages of readers going back to the story for the umpteenth time to reread it all. (And you have no diea how those little messages strengthened me when my health abandoned me). You devour it. And even I have been rereading my own tale several times and enjoyed it. So yes, I definitely want to write an ending to it. I also have plans to have the full story out before Joker 2 comes out.
Fun fact: The entire fic was inspired by the gif I added above)
Tumblr media
2:
Pine Cone Child – Fandom: Enola Holmes, Pairing: Enola Holmes/Linthorn (one-sided & Noncon), Enola Holmes & Sherlock Holmes. Explicit with lots of warnings.
I got a big thrill sending these chapters out into the world and found myself on a roll with this fic. The idea came with one scene, of a boy meeting his biological father, and realizing that he had a far more gritty past than he always had assumed. But to get to that chapter, I had to write many more. In the end, that chapter was never posted online. And the chapters I had finished about Enola and her mother visiting Linthorn’s grave and the chapter that was to follow after got lost when my laptop crashed. I was also too ill and too tired to write, so it never reached its end. I am not sure if I will ever finish this one. I think, it is pretty okay as it is. Even if I never got to the ending the whole idea sprouted from in the first placed. For now, it is on hold.
3. Removed Fics/Or old account fics:
The first multi-chapter fic became a success, many years ago. I will not name the title, the quality is shite compared to what I write now (still shite, but different shite). One of the first fandoms I wrote fanfiction in was Inu Yasha. The much-explored ‘Inu Yasha scampers off with Kikyo and Kagome finds comfort in Sesshoumaru’s arms’ was still new, there were about 20 fics or so about this pairing in English. The encouragement I received made me want to keep posting my work. I still receive reviews for these fics.
Tumblr media
4. A deleted Sweeney Todd Smut fic, featuring Sweeney Todd x Lovett’s daughter. I might reupload this one day, perhaps as a reader insert.
But because I want to tag a tale: Have you tried reading my dark romance (aka, Reader let yourself be kidnapped by a slasher guy)  The Chance to Make A Change. Fandom: The Black Phone. Pairing: Albert Shaw ( The Grabber ) x (f) Reader. Explicit. Loads of warnings.
Tumblr media
Shared 5:
His – Fandom: Moon Knight, Pairing: Dr. Arthur Harrow x (f) Reader. Mature with warnings.
I am surprised by how much feedback and likes I received on this, even if the numbers of hits and kudos on AO3 are low. But for the short tale it is, I like it. Because it shows a budding relationship over time, cut into short chapters, and has a little evil twist at the end of it. Also, I could totally live with this happening to me, if I were the reader.
Tumblr media
Shared 5:
No Family Man – Fandom: Joker 2019, Pairing: Arthur Fleck/Joker x (afab) Reader. Mature with warnings.
Another one of my fics I love to return to, and that was generally received well. It started as two imagines which I then combined. It has lots of personal experience elements in it that to me, make it all the more special. What they are, I will leave for you to guess.
Tumblr media
I would love to finish the Princess and the Clown - Joker 2019 fanfic of Arthur Fleck/Joker x Reader I once started. Perhaps rewrite it a little. Same for my Benvolio x Mercutio Hanahaki Story (you Shakespearean lovers might know me of my many Tybalt x Mercutio and Mercutio x basically anyone fics).
I have a few Star Wars Reader Inserts that were never finished but tickle my fancy. Mostly Reader x Kylo Ren or Reader x Hux (or both lol).
Tumblr media
By far most of my proudest fanfics have been personal gifts to friends. It is how I started writing when in High School, and I still gift fics for people's birthdays. I especially like the Sherlock Holmes range I did for several friends, in which my friends always ended up being the evil masterminds who outsmarted Sherlock and Watson. But also, because I had illustrations to go along with these fics. <3
Tumblr media
But first, I need to finish a whole list of unfinished works: starting with a Crimson Peak inspired modern reader au that has been pending for over 2 years, as well as the Joker fic mentioned on number one. Then there's a summery romantic Arthur Harrow x Reader tale I want to gift to someone on here, and a Harrow Patient x Reader fic that wants to be written in between.
ARGH!
Not to mention the many Arthur Fleck x Reader prompts I have pending. I LOVE YOU, KEEP SENDING ME STUFF <3

my roommate and i are watching inuyasha for her first time, i love seeing her fresh reactions to a 20+ year-old show, some highlights:
she thought inuyasha was a cat because he has catboy ears
only remembers kikyo's name, does not remember kagome's
miroku = sanji, shippo = chopper
loves that miyoga the flee can be squished and survives
shocked at the amount of blood and violence in the show because i told her it was more of a romance and an easy watch and also tend to forget how much blood and violence is actually in this show
wanted to call kagome "ka-goam", had a brain blast when i told her japanese vowels are roughly the same as spanish ones, has now unlocked the skill to pronounce all character names
immediately made a "time of the month" joke when learning about inuyasha's human transformation
said she'd use the the sit command just as much or even more than kagome does, if she was with someone constantly starting fights with her like inuyasha does
is happy the characters look japanese and not european
was really affected by the inuyasha childhood flashbacks, felt super bad for little inuyasha when everyone was mean and ignored him, brought up his past every episode after that
does not get the appeal of sesshomaru
is constantly enthralled by the will-they-won't-they romance between inuyasha and kagome, watches with rapt attention, experiences pure enjoyment when they nearly kiss or stare at each other too long
surprised that the primary love triangle is between inuyasha and two women rather and kagome and two men
asked if kagome was even the main character if the anime is called inuyasha
in episode 13-ish, asked if kikyo ever shows up in the anime, told her "yes, she never leaves"

Cheers to the New Year! Here's some plot bunnies to keep you warm.
PAST PLOT BUNNIES:
Direction, Sacrifice, Childhood, Mental Health, Wish
LGBTQ+, InuKik, InuKag, KagKog, MirSan, General
Direction, Headcanon
Holiday, Winter, Random
VALENTINE'S DAY & ROMANCE:
Inuyasha wants to better himself so Kagome will love him. Badgers Miroku into teaching him how to read and write. Ever the mischievous monk, Miroku does teach him but he doesn't exactly tell Inuyasha that what he's writing is 'I love you' and not his name.
Three years of living on his own made Inuyasha very aware that he didn't know shit about shit when it came to living in a stable environment. Secretly proud of his accomplishments, Inuyasha nervously prepares Kagome a very simple dinner complete with meat he hunted and vegetables from his modest little hidden garden to ease her into the idea of marrying him. 'It wouldn't be that bad, huh?'
The gift Inuyasha got for Kagome was totally for Kagome and not really a gift for him at all. (Ex: 'What? You had a cat. Don't you like cats?')
With help from Sota, Inuyasha practices what he wants to say to Kagome while Mama Higuarashi secretly eavesdrops. It's all for naught though. Inuyasha chickens out and Kagome doesn't know this ever happened until she might never see him again.
After yet another encounter with the annoying yet always half-naked pretty boy Koga, Inuyasha very awkwardly tries to get Kagome’s attention by stripping off his upper layers and flexing every muscle he can to look more attractive. Everyone is confused and uncomfortable.
Inuyasha misunderstands the concept of Valentine's Day. Is initially overjoyed when given a gift - especially after eavesdropping at her school all day - but is left heartbroken when all of their friends get little gifts too. There's nothing special about him, is there?
Sango is suspicious when Miroku keeps going on exorcisms and coming back acting a little too innocent. Concerned that he's cheating on her, she follows behind only to discover that he's really doing something incredibly sweet. It just takes time and costs money he's been working to save up.
After the quest has ended and Kagome has returned, Shippo has got himself yet another little girlfriend but, unlike the others, she's a little cray cray. Can't shake her either and not even Inuyasha's attempts to scare her away work. At his absolute wits end, Shippo takes a risk and goes to Soten with a proposition. Winds up getting more than he bargained for.
Do you hear that? It's the winds of change:
New year, new me. Kagome decides she's going to cut her hair and change up her wardrobe. Inuyasha has a meltdown the likes of which no one has seen before. Turns out hair is more important to him than even he's comfortable admitting. 'Your hair is gone.' 'Yes, the hair is gone.' 'Why is the hair gone?'
Instead of whatever plot Yashahime is doing, Mohora, Inuyasha and Kagome are not separated. As she approaches the toddler phase, Mohora gets frustrated that her over-protective and hypervigilant daddy won't let her do anything on her own. Inuyasha has to learn that he won't always be there to protect her and he needs to teach her independence. Just not right now. She's just a baby dammit.
Being with Kikyo wasn't all bad. Especially in the beginning. Those were actually some of the best days of his life.
After his daughters are born, Miroku decides to give up sake for good. This is harder than he expects despite telling himself he didn't drink that often.
After being forced back into her time, Kagome struggles to readjust to a 'normal' life. There was nothing special about her here.
GENERAL:
I see dead people. Lots of them. All those dead people have started to show up as if they never left with no recollection of what happened or how they got here. Inuyasha and Sango really don't want to do anything about this.
Inuyasha can’t figure out whether he's awake or asleep. It's not all good or all bad but in either scenario, his life's gotten pretty extreme.
The new moon comes and the new moon goes. Inuyasha stays human when the sun comes out and proceeds to flip a shit.
Sango discovers caffeine.
AU:
Earth is dying. Humanity nears extinction. Some well-intentioned aliens kidnap the survivors to bring them home unaware that - like Superman - on their planet humans get superpowers. This pisses off leadership.
No one remembers why the walls were built, no one wishes to leave either.
Kagome falls in love with an immortal who finds her each lifetime. Shes find this out by stumbling across a photo album of all his “exes” who all look like her carbon copy. Looks like they all died super early and horribly too. Weird.
Inuyasha and Kagome are vampires who've been friends forever. One day while Kagome is visiting a museum, she comes across a letter written in his distinctive handwriting and immediate picks up the phone. 'What the hell? You've loved me all this time!' 'What are you talking about?!' 'Those stacks of letters you donated fifty years ago? They're on display!' 'Oh.'

Custom Toonami Block Week 139 Rundown
Spy X Family: This is the episode for Yuri Briar, Yor’s brother and man several people compare to a dog of some kind or another. He’s with the Secret Police, the only organization name with less respect than the Regular Police. And he seems unable to stop going on about his sister even during a fucking interrogation with a guy that knows her that might be kinda mad about her brother beating the shit out of him and slamming his face in an ash tray, like he even goes ‘my sister doesn’t know I’m in the Secret Police’ to this guys face like this is supposed to be his big scary moment but he’s really a shitty interrogator giving the target more info than he gets, like he only has him dead to rights because of evidence he forgot to file so like I think Yuri’s kinda awful at his job. Meanwhile Loid and the family make the house look as vomit-enducingly cutsey as possible to sell the ‘yes married people who have sex live here’ even though that’s not the case. Luckily Anya goes to bed before everyone can get shitfaced and Yor kinda brushes off the whole ‘being married for a year’ thing as slipping her mind which luckily Yuri has enough of a sister complex and Yor is enough of a scatterbrain for that to actually be mildly plausible. Also Yuri’s particularly looking for Twilight, the super secret anti-establishment agent that Loid kinda… is. While Yuri’s getting blitzed out of his mind because apparently that runs in the family, Loid actually does figure out Yuri’s a member of the Secret Police because he’s not a fucking idiot most of the time and he tries to keep the conversation light. Yuri pushes the mildly gay thoughts about his brother-in-law out long enough to yell about how Yor came home bloody every night to help take care of him and instead of thinking ‘wow she’s murdering people at like 12’ he just thinks ‘wow part-time jobs are hard’ and questions nothing else. Anyway with a severely drunk brother-in-law ranting and raving in their house, it comes down to the scene that’s in EVERY fake romance story ever ‘If you love each other then kiss’ which I feel like would be less of a big deal in real life than in fiction like most of my female friends kiss each other like no big deal and if it’s a life or death situation it would probably be a little awkward but not the huge impediment most media portray it as.
Inuyasha: It’s the conclusion of the Naginata of Kenkon arc and with Inuyasha’s Tessaiga de-powered and everyone else at their usual level of uselessness, Hoshiyomi is basically untouchable. Still Kagome’s able to pull some spiritual power out of her ass and gets possessed by Hoshiyomi’s old lover Tsukiyomi because between this and Kikyo, Kagome’s body’s just really good for storing souls I guess *slaps hood* ‘This modern day schoolgirl can fit so many ancient priestess spirits in her’. But yeah turns out when Hoshiyomi got all butthurt about Tsukiyomi betraying him he conveniently left out the part where he was going absolutely mad with power and having his soul corrupted so Tsukiyomi could avoid the spiritual energy equivalent of tuberculosis. Tsukiyomi seals him away and splits the Naginata and is about to pop him right back out now that she’s hidden his soul-destroying toy but her spiritual tuberculosis hits and she dies before she can release him and explain things so he pops out like five seconds later like ‘She’s dead, that’s weird but guess she hated me all along, oh well gonna go kill all humans I guess’. And heading this Hoshiyomi half doesn’t believe it and half is just like ‘can’t go back now’ and cuts Tsukiyomi!Kagome out of the sky. Kagome having just been through this backstory montage is just like ‘Bitch if you hadn’t have been a pussy and get corrupted by a damn fancy fork thingy your girl wouldn’t have had to die’ which pisses Hoshiyomi off but luckily Akitoki’s able to save her cause I guess the power of the blade stronger than Tessaiga made by the guy that evaporates regular humans that get within ten feet of it can just be parried by some dude, why not. Kagome begs Tsukiyomi for some of her power to replace what the naginata stole and her impassioned speech also restores Inuyasha’s tessaiga and they do a cool Sacred Arrow/Backlash Wave combo to blow Hoshiyomi away so he can be with his filler girl. Seeing them do the sickest combo attack ever and realizing he’s just some dude, Akitoki gives up on Kagome despite giving a pretty moving speech about how much he loved her before but don’t feel too bad, he convinces another girl with the same name as the Demon Ninja that sexually assaulted him to change her name to Kagome so that’s mildly creepy I guess but all’s well that ends well… now if only we could get real world Hojo a girl, I really wish we could’ve seen him happily married in Yashahime, poor guy went through so much stringing along with Kagome.
Yu Yu Hakusho: Yusuke and Sensui are still fighting and Sensui basically pulls out his version of Yusuke’s Shotgun that can double as close-range armor. It’s pretty tough but Sensui makes the mistake of showing a shonen hero the same technique twice and whenever you do that you just know they find a way around it so Yusuke can get a counterattack in and then just to be pissy he jumps in the lake because he REALLY didn’t like Sensui calling him predictable and he’s basically doing the “Bitch you don’t know me, I’m crazy” dance scene from the first episode of Hey Arnold. However this was actually a lot smarter than it looked since Sensui mentioned the water basically dissolved his torn shirt earlier and Yusuke used this and the cover of the water to make a sneak attack out of a hand wrapping to tie up the ‘hand deflect’ part of Sensui’s ‘hand deflect and then soccer’ martial art. And it’s kinda funny with Sensui going on about how Yusuke can’t handle multiple targets at once because he just got done a 1v1 Tournament arc and then Yusuke’s just like ‘yeah well how about you handle a street fight you bitch-ass martial artist’ and this does get to Sensui so much so that he turns his free hand into a gun and just fucking shoots Yusuke… if you saw that coming you’re fucking lying. But yeah, turns out Sensui doesn’t have forms like Frieza but split personalities with their own objectives, missions and abilities and Yusuke got enough punch gacha currency to roll the ‘new York gangster with a gatling arm’ personality… kinda specific but can’t argue with results. Kuwabara and Hiei are trying to cut their way out of Prismo but like guys if you could just do that there wouldn’t be any point, if only there was someone here who recently unlocked the ability to cut through dimensions… oh well. Sensui’s gangster persona riddles Yusuke full of holes and is about to just cap him and end it when Koenma shows up to do… whatever the fuck his pacifier thing does.
Jujutsu Kaisen: So after the past couple episodes of Yuji and Gojo doing stuff we cut back over to Megumi and Nobara who are ambushed by Todo and Mai and Megumi doesn’t give the good answer to Todo’s fetish question so yeah they fight, apparently Todo’s fuckoff strong and just pounds people to dust but ALSO has a super secret technique he used to stop a bad guy attack at last year’s festival (which they decided to just hold again I guess? Doesn’t seem very safe like at least move them to a more secure location) and he beats the shit out of Megumi until he gets ready to unleash his super ultimate Sasuke Curse Mark thing but it’s not a dramatic enough time for that yet so we get cockblocked on that one for a second time. Meanwhile Mai shoots Nobara full of holes (first Yusuke gets banged by a spirit gatling gun now Mai goes all revolver ocelot and leaves Nobara in the same state, feeling a theme this week…) but apparently all it did was rip her jacket so they must be REALLY shitty bullets, she goes into the surprisingly large category of anime characters that’s just ‘uses a gun but it’s a magic gun but also just kinda worse than a regular gun’ because Japan has a weird relationship with guns. We get a little more info on Maki’s squad and how she’s basically the lovechild of Tenten and Rock Lee because she has no jutsu of her own but uses jutsu weapons and got REALLY good with them to compensate because her family was like ‘bitch you can’t be an anime girl you got no powers’ and she did it anyway out of spite and that’s just the kind of determined pettiness that Nobara finds charming. Also Gojo crashes the meeting of old men to be all ‘Hey you killed my new student so fuck you and also everyone’s getting stronger on both sides so fuck your status quo, I rescheduled your meeting so have fun waiting I hope your fucking tea gets cold and you step on a lego’ and then takes a selfie with his fangirl assistant. Overall this episode is really carried by the various personalities, Gojo’s a lot of fun of course and Todo is a fan favorite, one of the few things I knew of the series before jumping in was the ‘tall woman with a big ass’ thing and he is kinda ridiculously charming and even kinda wins Mai over to the idol side in the ending vignette so yeah, looking forward to more of this.
Chainsaw Man: This is basically ‘Death Flags: The Episode’ we pick up right where we left off with Himeno propositioning Denji and then he has a flashback to Makima consoling him about the puke-kiss, most of Makima’s stuff has been kinda ambiguous as to whether or not it’s actually good advice or whether it’s straight talk that Denji’s interpreting as caring because he has a boner but this moment was genuinely pretty sweet, not saying if gets Makima off the sus list but there doesn’t seem to be any ulterior motive to this particular conversation. Anyway, spurred on by this Denji actually does the decent thing and lets Himeno sleep off her brief episode of sexual projection, I’m so proud, our boy’s actually almost a human being for a sec. It’s really funny how Himeno has a refreshingly frank take of ‘well that would’ve definitely been illegal’ about flirting with a maybe-16 year old and asks him why he even stuck around and he’s just like ‘bro there’s food’ and that’s the human garbage disposal we all know and love. Anyway they get to talking and I love Denji’s response when Himeno asks him what happens if Makima turns out to be an awful person he’s basically like ‘I’m into that shit’ because make no mistake his standards are still below rock bottom despite all the progress we’ve made. But they essentially make a pact to get each other the disinterested stoic significant other of each other’s dreams. Meanwhile Makima is on a train and gets fucking shot… kay, short character arc for her I guess. Turns out all the Public Devil Hunters we know so far are just getting fucking guns pulled on them which is a shockingly efficient way of doing things, like if more anime characters just had fucking guns a lot of anime would be a lot shorter. Lastly we cut to Denji, Himeno, Power and Aki eating ramen and one of the dudes that knew the old mafia boss Denji was indebted to fucking shoots Denji in the head and turns into a Katana Man Aki’s able to use his aforementioned super secret lifespan cutting technique to basically use a more elaborate version of Soifon’s Shikai on him but a little girl comes along and resurrects him so Himeno has to sacrifice herself to her Ghost Devil to keep him at bay and even that doesn’t work but she dies anyway because if a character gets too sympathetic they have to die, that’s the rules.
Ranking of Kings: While Bojji’s still doing his training we cut back to the kingdom now that Bosse is back in Daida’s body we get a flashback about how Bosse was a huge asshole and sold Bojji’s potential and part of his own lifespan to a demon to become stronger and then knocked up Bojji’s mom just so he could have someone to pawn the curse off onto, showing Daida’s already a better man than him despite his flaws. Also apparently this means the kingdom’s only like 16 years old which is super weird like they built a lot of shit and made a lot of dumb traditions in the time it took Bojji to grow to prime shonen hero age. The tradeoff is Bosse wanted to make sure Bojji would have a good life and not need for anything in exchange for the sacrifice but it’s still a fucking dick thing to do. Also Daida!Bosse is gonna kill Hilling now via some weird chimera beasts because apparently sacrificing his first son and half his life wasn’t enough. Meanwhile the random guard that was with Bojji and Sword guy comes back and tells Hilling that Daida ordered sword guy to kill Bojji and Hilling wants to literally shoot the messenger but sword guy comes to save him at the last second. Also snake guy was saved by giant snake. But yeah, Daida!Bosse flexes on everyone and tells sword guy to go seal the cave to the underworld that’s under the castle presumably to stop Bojji from coming back since the Morgan La Fae mirror told him Bojji’s the strongest person alive now that he’s completed the mysterious training so that’s cool. Also Daida’s lost in the sunken place from Get Out.
Vinland Saga: Askeladd’s crew comes home to his uncle’s for the winter with war with England looming on the horizon this is likely the crew’s last respite before the storm. Askeladd’s uncle has a new slave girl that was a former noble of a fallen Norwegian noble family and complains about how hard she is to push into shape, mirroring Askeladd’s relationship with Thorfinn and contrasting his methods to mold Thorfinn into a warrior. Speaking of which Askeladd finally gives Thorfinn his first duel since he was knee high and Thorfinn does a pretty decent job of it until Askeladd gets under his skin but being an ass and fueling the fires of his hatred to give him an opening to dislocate his shoulder. The group party in the meadhouse and Askeladd gives his Kenny Ackerman speech about everyone being slaves in some way. Thorfinn watches the ship and hallucinates his dad which is kinda funny because Thors actually tells him what the real Thors would tell him about revenge being stupid and shit despite this being Thorfinn’s hallucination and his brain probably wanting his dad to condone his path but even his subconscious knows this isn’t what Thors wanted. Meanwhile the slave girl comes out to feed Thorfinn and they talk a bit about how their situations are similar and Thorfinn tells her the story of Vinland and how that kind of dream world is the only hope for people that want to live quietly in peace. Meanwhile we jump to Spring and it’s time for war with England, the king’s son is gonna fight because you don’t get to be king of the Vikings without proving you aren’t a pussy, and also a dude that looks like Askeladd’s younger brother is throwing axes around so that’s fun.

Tumblr media
how would the Zoldyck family react if they find out that hisoka and illumi are an item?
silva
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ bro is still kinda trying to get the "illumi likes men" thing. silva can kill hundreds of people at once and is the most feared assassin ever, but when it comes to his kids actually having... like... lives... his mind just empties.
・❥・so when illumi just pulls up with "hisoka and i are dating" in the most unemotional tone known to man, silva's brain doesn't really process it right off. he sits there for like ten seconds straight in silence with an intimidatingly blank stare. imagine the little "loading..." thing over his head
・❥・and then he gets it. he blinks. looks at hisoka and illumi awkwardly, with a brow arched or something. then looks down at kikyo, who is sobbing on his shoulder into his shirt.
・❥・he stares at his wife for a few more very long seconds before looking back up at his son and his maniac pedophile clown bf, rolling his eyes as he gestures with his head for them to just go.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
kikyo
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ she was never on board with hisoka and illumi's whole thing to begin with. she does not understand why Illumi wants to spend all his time with hisoka, who she thinks is creepy and overly eccentric, when he could be spending time with a lovely woman who also kills people to carry on the Zoldyck name.
・❥・and she really wasn't with the gay thing anyway. she would have lots of perfectly eligible murdery women meet illumi in hopes that they would get together and bear a Zoldyck child. but here he is. kikyo just cannot understand it.
・❥・although, it's a tiny bit less about the gay stuff than it is about the fact that it's hisoka. hisoka. him of all people. why? his aura is repulsive, he runs around in crop tops, heels, waist trainers, makeup, and pink hair. illumi had already been poisoned, kikyo could tell, when he started with the crop tops as well. but it had been worse than she had thought. now here they were, the disgusting clown and her perfect illumi saying they were dating.
・❥・it was enough to make her burst into tears- and cry she did. the second illumi finished his sentence, the waterworks began. now it was too late.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
zeno
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ "Like I care. Just don't have sex in the house."
・❥・enough said
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
alluka
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ i don't know how she'd find out, really. maybe killua told her? but despite the fact that Illumi doesn't even consider alluka a family member or even a human being, she'd be thrilled for him <\3
・❥・"Big big brother has a boyfriend? Really?!"
・❥・she'll want to know everything about hisoka- what he looks like, how he behaves, what about him attracted her brother. romance thrills her, no matter who it's between or if the people involved are trying to kill her☹️
・❥・"Will I get to meet him? :D"
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
kalluto
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ he'd been collecting clues for a while. he noticed when illumi stopped cutting his hair, when his clothing style changed, how much more often Illumi was going to hisoka for assistance in missions and such rather than his family- whether he actually needed the help or not.
・❥・and when illumi joined the phantom troupe "per hisoka's request," and when he spoke of an "engagement ring" and "prenup" despite there being other less fruity terms he could have used to describe the contract- kalluto was almost 100 percent sure.
・❥・ the kicker, though, was when kalluto found out that they had contracted each other to kill... each other. they both shared the same twisted idea of "romance" and "friendship," and this basically set kalluto's suspicions in stone.
・❥・so kalluto half-heartedly played dumb when Illumi announced their official status as a couple- but long story short, he wasn't surprised. he isn't really fond of hisoka, but he sees no point in messing with the relationship, so he doesn't care much overall.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
milluki
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ this mf doesn't look up from his computer screen and potato chips and weird dolls long enough to even notice that hisoka existed, let alone how much time he and his brother spent together. so he's wayyy out of the loop when illumi makes his announcement.
・❥・bro almost chokes to death on his snack when illumi's done. when he finally pulls himself together, he gives Illumi a look and is basically like "ew, weirdos"
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
killua
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ *screaming intensifies*
・❥・illumi. his psychopath brother. hisoka. the pedophile clown man who has a crush on his twelve year old best friend. dating. illumi. gay. with. hisoka. what the fuck what the duck what the fuck
・❥・this could go two ways. one, illumi makes his announcement, and killua immediately starts dramatically falling to the floor and screaming hysterically while pretending to vomit. may or may not ask if he can put a hit on himself. hell, he'll demand someone put a hit on him- he'll be waiting with open arms for them to come and end his misery
・❥・or, killua takes matters into his own hands. he doesn't react at all before calmly exiting the room, walking through the halls, entering mike's domain, and simply climbing up the dog's fur into his mouth. perhaps he'll take a stroll up to the roof of the house and throw himself off?? either way, he's ending this shit

Heyo! Love your writing 💖 from most to least, who in the adultrio is most touch starved and how do they deal with it in a relationship? 👀👀👀👀
Hi! This is cute and sad at the same time, but I'll make it all better and fluffier ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
Thank you for the request and I hope you'll like it! 😄
Warning: very long, a bit sad because of their pasts, some personal analysis based on common HxH knowledge, gut feeling and theories
A/N: literally poured my heart and soul, especially for Chrollo and Hisoka, because I feel really bad for what they had to go through and how twisted they can be, when things could’ve been so different
So the way I see things is as follows:
From the most touch starved to the least (they all are, absolutely, but the explanation will be below for each character):
Chrollo -> Hisoka -> Illumi
Why? Lemme demonstrate.
Chrollo
since he was probably abandoned at birth in Meteor City, he’s already missing the parents’ loving touch
Meteor City seems to be one of the harshest environments in the Hunter x Hunter universe, probably being second only (at least for me) to the Dark Continent, since that one is just nuts
because of where and how he grew up, he probably never felt anything... good, in terms of touching, affection, love etc.
Chrollo loved no one and no one loved him
not truly and not for what he is
but mostly for his looks, his power, the things he could probably acquire for them
the Spiders are the only ones who accept him as a leader and a friend, a mentor, but even so, they don’t seem that close
and he does seem like the type of person who craves it, so badly
especially after hearing about it, seeing other people do it and even reading all those romance books and poems
but he’s terrified of letting anyone that close to him and seeing him for who he is
not even he knows who he is for sure, so he is just really confused
and all those moments where he touched someone and even seemed like he cared were all lies
Chrollo actually doesn’t really get much comfort from doing it because it’s a total stranger and even though he’s the bad guy, maybe they are bad too
now, if he does get into a relationship, it’s going to be tough
he’s always searching for a catch, a lie, an ulterior motive
so you have to be very patient and actually take it easy
always ask him if he’s okay with what you’re going to do
he’ll always appreciate that and make him feel like he doesn’t have to act or lie or feel pressured into doing something he doesn’t want
if he really loves you and cares, he will slowly give in to the temptation and allow you to get closer to him step by step
maybe not immediately, but he’ll definitely start reciprocating and even initiating those affectionate gestures
and it makes Chrollo so happy when you respond positively because he needs some sort of validation that what he’s doing is okay, you’re comfortable around him, you accept him, you love him, you won’t hurt him in any way
if there’s anything that makes you uncomfortable, tell him, because there’s nothing more he hates than hurting someone he actually cares about
overall, in the end, he’ll be pretty affectionate and romantic with you because your affection, touches, intimacy, domesticity and love that you offer him allow Chrollo find a part of himself, a more human one that he most probably thought he didn’t even have
Hisoka
in Hisoka’s case, I’d like to mention the fact that he had his mother
for how long, we don’t know, but he was taught how to do some magic tricks by her
I do think that maybe they weren’t that close, but his mother could be somewhat affectionate at times
which is probably why he remembers the fact that she taught him pretty fondly
remember the fact that Hisoka doesn’t normally care about the past, so this must’ve been something pretty significant to him and still is, since he employs cards and magic tricks into pretty much everything he does
now, about how touch starved he is?
very
not as much as Chrollo, but certainly not that less either
like I said, he had a parent, his mother, so there was some family bonding and some motherly love (at least a bit), whereas Chrollo had nothing
that doesn’t mean that Hisoka isn’t touch starved
but he doesn’t really pay much attention to that
he probably has a lot of one night stands since he seems to be so... flirty and easily excitable and extroverted
maybe he really is shy, like he said? probably in a relationship and when he is vulnerable, but I’ll get to that in a moment
even with all the one night stands and his personality, Hisoka doesn’t really feel anything, at least not emotionally, when touching or being touched
only physically
and he likes it, but that would be it, he doesn’t feel any emotional connection to anyone
but in a relationship, an actual, real, romantic relationship, things would be different
Hisoka’s going to be flirty, teasing, even mean sometimes
especially when you actually seem to want to know more about him - as a person, his past, his hobbies, anything regarding him, not the persona he has made for himself
but, again, patience and don’t go overboard
it’ll feel like an intrusion
also, yes, touchy, very
but... it doesn’t really feel like anything more than something purely physical and if you tell him to stop, he'll listen and back off
it’s all about pleasure and if you get none, he’ll feel as if he did badly
so he’d rather not have to deal with that
just like Chrollo, he’s protecting himself and his heart
because pretty much no one wanted to be with him, but for the benefits he’d bring them
not that he really let others too close either - whoever did get too close and betrayed him died painfully, I know for sure
but you’d probably start breaking down those walls slowly, in time
he will share things about himself and let you witness it, but not too much and not too often
not really into talking about his past, but again, snippets, not everything
Hisoka’s scared that you’ll use what you find out about him against him
but once he realises that yes, he can trust you and yes, he can be himself?
all bets are off
touchy, flirty, teasing, but in a very... let’s say, lighthearted way, very focused only on the two of you?
the creepy flirting and whatever is reserved for whoever he wants to fight/kill
but with you, it’ll be a lot more romantic and affectionate
will absolutely love having you close physically and touching you constantly
feels recharged and happy when he’s close to you
will definitely be almost like a different person sometimes because he’ll allow himself to be relaxed and comfortable and vulnerable around you
Hisoka likes having someone like you to rely on and be able to talk to about his thoughts and fears (not many, but still), even if it doesn’t really happen that often
but, bottom line is, he trusts you, a lot more than he’s probably trusted anyone in his entire life and will be more honest with you as well
Illumi
for Illumi, I’ll have to say that it’s his family
yes, they trained him to be an assassin and was pretty much just a test subject for Kikyo and Silva since he is a boy and the oldest
but, still, he had a family that, in a way or another, was there for him, preparing him, helping him and providing him with whatever he needed and maybe even wanted
again, this is only my way of saying that he had some sort of contact with people who were close to him, especially from a genetical point of view, ever since he was a child and had help in case he needed it
because of all the torture and training he went through, Illumi is pretty much emotionless and immune to almost anything
he feels no real joy from being touched by others or touching them, and the only ones even allowed to touch him are his family and Hisoka, mostly because he’s persistent and they’ve known each other for some time
the only way he’s really been taught how to touch others is if he has to kill them, so you can imagine that he doesn’t really know what he’s missing on, compared to, let’s say Alluka or Killua, even Kalluto who were raised a bit more... lovingly
so imagine how it’ll be when he gets into a relationship with someone who’s a lot more touchy
he’d probably be pretty on edge and even appear threatening
but, explaining what you want to do in simple terms and your reasons should make him a bit more open, at least to the idea of thinking about this
of course, Illumi’s seen other people hugging, kissing, holding hands etc.
and he’s probably wondered why he never did that
but at the same time, he’s never really felt like he really needed affection in his life
until you came into it
when you started with small things (holding pinkies was something that lasted for like a month), he couldn’t really say that he saw the big deal
but at the same time, Illumi liked it a lot
when it came to hand holding, he loved the way your smaller hand fit into his and almost seemed like it was made for him and he could just keep you close and safe
other things, like hugging or kissing probably took a bit longer
his favourite thing to do has got to be cuddling because he just likes feeling like he can relax around you and also get his daily dose of touch, love and affection from one of the few people he cares about, even loves, and who he allows to touch him
and yes, he’ll slowly start touching you as well
something as simple as a brief hug before he has to leave just makes him feel giddy and he actually wants and needs more when he comes back to you
he likes feeling all those positive emotions, though he doesn’t really like that feeling of vulnerability, but he guesses that it’s only fair, considering the fact that you’re doing the same
to others, it might not seem like he’s changed much: the same emotionless face and the same ruthlessness as an assassin
but when he’s with you, everything just seems a lot more relaxed for the two of you and he can actually just breathe and know that he’ll have you by his side at the end of the day

I think the fandom pretty much unanimously agrees that Inuyasha is an Aries, but I can also see the signs of Taurus and Leo in his chart, and, one friend brought up the prospect of seeing him as a bit of a Cancer oddly enough. (Mostly because of how he tends to get moody and is quick to both hold grudges but also forgive)
For Kagome I agree with Sagittarius and can somewhat see Pisces but agree to disagree with all the other signs, especially Aquarius. Yes Aquarians are universal humanitarians and are progressive and revolutionary but they’re also known for being the most intellectual and emotionless of the Zodiac and that’s definitely NOT Kagome lol. The only way I can see Aquarius for Kagome is if she were on the Aquarius/Pisces cusp but I can’t ever see her Sun Sign being a full fledged Aquarius, who knows, maybe she has it somewhere in her chart though? To me a better humanitarian air sign fit for her would be Libra, which is known as the most sociable, diplomatic, romantic and peace-loving sign. (I’m especially partial to Kagome being a Libra because Libra is known as Aries direct opposite and they’re supposed to be a perfect match romance wise).
Capricorn’s an okay choice too but I think the two other Earth signs, Taurus and Virgo fit her far better since Capricorns are known for being a tad cold and stone-faced. (When I think Cap I think of it more as a Sesshomaru or Kikyo sign) Meanwhile Taurus is known as being stubborn as all get out while still being highly practical and a taste for the finer things in life (and an appreciator of beauty!) and Virgos are known for being responsible, dutiful and grounded while also having a tendency to be immensely hard on themselves and do those not sound like Kagome to a Tee?
I can also see Cancer and Scorpio fitting her well, Cancer because they’re known as the most family oriented and “clingy” of the signs and both Cancer and Scorpio also have a reputation for being the most jealous which I would say is Kagome’s main vice she has to overcome. I don’t necessarily think Scorpio is her main sun sign or even her rising sign but I could see her Venus being in Scorpio easily. (Which sign is in Venus in your chart determines how you deal with romantic love matters)
TL;DR: I personally view Kagome as a mix of the Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Saggitarius signs myself, but I’m the same as you Sid in that unlike Inuyasha I feel she fits a much higher multitude of signs.
You make great points.
Like I said, I'm far from being an especialist when it comes to astrological signs and I found Kagome particularly hard to pin down. I made my guesses based not on actual, detailed ressearch, but on the vibes the characters give off.
You're obviously educated on the subject, which I'm not, and definitely care more about it than I do, so I thank you for your input. It was an interesting essay to read.

For @stormielikeweather‘s Boat Extravaganza! 😘💕⛵
Kagome had been dreaming of her happily ever after with Inuyasha for so long and now she was feeling cheated.
Their life together was not the stuff of fairy tales that she had imagined.
Neither of them had been in a proper relationship before and it showed; they had a clumsy start, and things didn't much improve from there.
They made mistakes. Went to bed angry more than once. Had trouble being completely honest with each other as neither wanted to be a burden to the other.
Fitting their two very different lives together was difficult and compromising was an art they had yet to master when they both were stubborn and temperamental people.
And the worst thing was… Well, it wasn’t like Kagome didn’t trust Inuyasha, not exactly… But some of her emotional scars had yet to heal.
She'd thought that once they were finally together – a real couple – the insecurities that had plagued her before would fade away.
But despite his reassurances and their very real relationship, that niggling voice at the back of her mind was still there.
Did he still see Kikyo in her?
How could she ever compare to that sweet first love he'd so tragically lost?
Would she, plain old Kagome, ever be enough? Could she truly make him happy?
She loved him. She loved him so much it hurt – and therein lay the problem.
It wasn't supposed to hurt, was it?
Not this often. Not this profoundly.
It wasn't supposed to be so hard, to require so much effort.
Finally, the two of them had to face the truth. And it was Inuyasha who sat her down, then cleared his throat while his triangle-ears drooped.
"You're not happy," he blurted out. "We're not happy."
Kagome's throat closed up and Inuyasha's forlorn golden gaze blurred as tears burned in her eyes.
"We haven't been happy for a while," she finally admitted. Then she drew a quivering breath, voiced the even bigger and more dreadful admission in a broken whisper: "I'm not sure if we're ever going to be."
The tears ran freely now. A deep ache throbbed in her chest, a cold weight slithered into the pit of her stomach.
It didn't quite feel real, even as Inuyasha reached to gently grasp her hand.
She clung to it like to an anchor, even as the sobs shuddered through her body.
“I love you,” she hiccuped, furiously wiping at her tears with her free hand.
His fingers were steady and warm around hers, but his voice was gruff with emotion when he replied.
“I love you too.”
“I want us to be together,” Kagome said, pain twisting her heart as she squeezed his hand.
“I know,” Inuyasha said with a broken sigh. “I want that, too. But I don’t think we should, Kagome.”
Kagome hung her head, her heart shattering, the sharpened shards rattling in her chest in time with the gasping sobs.
Inuyasha pulled her to him, enveloped her into a tight embrace.
She cried until no tears were left.
For long, silent moments they stayed like that, clinging to one another.
She spoke at last, the words muffled against his chest.
“We’ll always be friends, right?”
“We will,” Inuyasha promised, holding her close for a few more seconds.
Then, he let go and they pulled apart.
The promise held and they stayed friends.
The love Kagome and Inuyasha felt for each other remained, but it morphed and settled, forming a bond of familiar comfort.
It took Kagome some time, as recovery always did.
But now, three years later, she could say with confidence what she couldn’t have before: she was content.
That summer Inuyasha started making furtive excuses to make trips to a nearby village. He was elusive when Kagome tried asking him why, his ears flat against his hair, his cheeks tinted pink.
Kagome waited for a pang of sadness to come from such an obviously suspicious behaviour.
But she only felt relief. And she felt happy for him.
She hoped he could find happiness at last.
She had not given much thought to her own happiness. Certainly, she had not been entertaining any daydreams of romance.
Not until one crisp autumn morning, when she found an unexpected visitor at her door.
She blinked up at the daiyoukai while her mind raced, thinking back to all their recent encounters, trying to decipher any reason why he might have come to specifically seek her out.
They had been starting to get along pretty well, she thought. She couldn’t have possibly given him offence in any way?
And then he explained his reason for coming to her door and Kagome stopped thinking altogether.
Kagome opened her mouth, but no words came out.
She stared at him, helpless, as the deep shock slowly started morphing into confusion.
He stared back at her, patiently waiting for her reply.
In a daze, Kagome found her voice and gave her answer – though how she had arrived in such a decision remained a mystery even to herself.
“Yes.”
Sesshoumaru’s golden eyes flashed then, his lips curving into a smile.
“I will see you this evening,” he said.
Kagome nodded, leaning against the doorframe as she watched him walk away.
She felt dizzy and overwhelmed as the reality slowly sank in and her sense of disbelief began to fade.
She had promised to go out.
On a date.
With Sesshoumaru.
Her knees weak, her head buzzing, Kagome went back into her hut, shutting the door behind her.
She had much thinking to do, an evening to be prepared for.
And a whole knot of complicated, mixed, confusing feelings to sort through.
Inuyasha’s miko had always had Sesshoumaru’s respect.
Granted, that respect had been grudgingly given, especially in the beginning.
But over the course of their acquaintance, witnessing the miko’s bravery and resilience, her kindness and her strength of spirit, that respect had grown and deepened and become very genuine indeed.
Sesshoumaru had never foreseen that this respect would one day spur on a whole another set of feelings completely.
Ones that were decidedly warmer and more… ardent in nature.
But that had been steadily happening to him over the course of the past year. He often saw the miko when he came to visit the village to visit the old miko and Rin.
Though these meetings were hardly ever more than fleeting – a few pleasantries and kind words exchanged – they stuck in his mind, formed memories upon which he found himself lingering.
He had not been willing to face this change of heart at first.
While the miko and Inuyasha had ended their relationships years ago, the fact still remained that she had once been involved with his half-brother.
After it had finally become undeniable that Sesshoumaru did harbour feelings for Kagome, he had resolved never to act on them.
But once the rumours had reached him, of Inuyasha starting to pursue someone new; once upon a visit he had caught the scent of an unfamiliar female mixed with Inuyasha’s, there had been a spark of hope lit in his heart he hadn’t been able to extinguish.
Finally, that spark had actually spurred Sesshoumaru into doing something he had never done before – he’d gone to have a frank discussion with Inuyasha.
He’d explained his predicament to his half-brother, expecting mockery in return.
But, instead, after he had managed to get over his considerable surprise, Inuyasha had granted Sesshoumaru his blessing.
So Sesshoumaru had conceived his plan and had finally approached the miko.
Tonight, he would make his intentions clear.
He could only hope that Kagome would receive them – and him – favourably.
That night was the night of the full moon.
And as if the universe itself gave its blessings to Sesshoumaru’s plan, the night sky stretched clear and cloudless above him as he walked through the village towards Kagome’s hut.
Nervousness danced along his skin as he drew closer, a rare sensation brought forth by the enormity of his endeavour tonight.
Sesshoumaru had never long lingered on the possibility that Kagome might reject, did not want to entertain the thought even now.
Everything simply had to go according to plan.
The door opened before he had reached the small cottage.
Kagome stood in the doorway, biting her lip as she watched him approach.
His steps came lighter and faster as he closed their distance, his golden gaze intent on her, drinking her in.
Sesshoumaru stopped before her and inclined his head in greeting.
“You are ready?”
“Yes,” she replied.
He noticed the tremble in her voice.
Perhaps she, too, was nervous?
Sesshoumaru hoped so. Was it selfish of him, to wish she was affected by him?
“Shall we go?” he asked her.
Kagome nodded, stepping out of her hut and pulling the door shut after her.
Sesshoumaru’s fingers twitched.
He’d have liked to take her hand as he led her away from the village.
But that would have been too presumptuous, wouldn’t it?
He didn’t know. He had never done anything the likes of this; had never been spurred to pursue a female before.
They walked on in silence, bathed by the moonlight.
He should probably have been offering her some clever conversation, but Sesshoumaru had never been loquacious.
The world around them was magical, but then, perhaps that was because Kagome was walking by his side at last.
All his senses were on high alert and turned to her.
He kept drawing in deep breaths so he could inhale her scent.
“Are you cold?” he asked after a while.
“No. I’m fine,” she replied.
“That’s good,” Sesshoumaru said.
He felt the weight of her gaze, quickly darting over to him and then away again.
“Where are we going?”
“That’s a surprise.” He stole a glance at her, noted her frown. “A pleasant one, I hope,” he hastened to add.
“I didn’t take you for one to organise surprises,” Kagome muttered, her voice soft.
“I have put much thought into this,” Sesshoumaru answered truthfully.
“Have you?”
“Yes.”
Silence settled around them again.
Sesshoumaru’s heartbeat drummed in his ears, loud enough to be deafening.
Finally, the woods around them grew thinner. He could see the light ahead, could smell the water.
They walked out from the cover of the trees and before them, the lake stretched ahead, its calm surface glimmering in the moonlight, reflecting the night sky.
The long and narrow boat waited right were Sesshoumaru had left it.
He turned to Kagome, gestured at the boat.
“We’re here.”
“This is nice,” Kagome replied, taking in the scene.
“I thought you might enjoy a moon-viewing,” Sesshoumaru said, self-conscious now that his plan was revealed. “I understand such a festival is a tradition among humans, too.”
“It is,” Kagome said, sounding surprised. “You’ve done your homework.”
“What work?” Sesshoumaru tilted his head.
“Ah, just an expression,” Kagome replied, blushing.
“Shall we, then?”
Standing beside the boat, Sesshoumaru held his hand out to Kagome.
After a few torturously long seconds, she set her hand in his.
Sesshoumaru’s grip firmed instantly, as heat flooded his body from that single contact of skin on skin.
He handed her onto the boat, taking care to lend her all the support she needed.
Once she was settled, he untied the boat and stepped on himself, pushing them off the shore.
“Please let me know if you get cold,” he told her, as he rowed then out to the middle of the lake. “I understand the night air can get cool in the autumn.”
“I will, thanks.”
“There are refreshments in the basket,” he added.
Silence settled.
Sesshoumaru propelled them forward with sure, even strokes.
His back prickled under Kagome’s lingering gaze.
He was pulling in the oars when she finally spoke.
“You were right. You have put a lot of thought into this.”
Sesshoumaru turned to drop the anchor, a heady pleasure unfurling in the pit of his stomach.
She was recognising the effort he had put to make this evening memorable. Dare he read into it, hope it was an indication of growing regard?
Once they were secured to the spot in the middle of the lake, floating on the calm expanse, he served her sake .
They sipped the wine, stealing glances at each other.
Sesshoumaru had brought her out here, set out the entire scene for one purpose.
And now the time had finally come, for him to make his intentions known.
He stared at Kagome, trying to read her expression and posture, hoping to glean any kind of hint as to what she was feeling
Sesshoumaru cleared his throat.
He had planned for this, so naturally, he’d had an entire speech ready.
But looking at her, sitting in front of him, giving him her full attention, all words seemed to have fled his brain.
Nonetheless, he must speak, as she was expecting him to. And he must somehow explain all this feeling inside him.
“I have always had respect for you,” Sesshoumaru blurted out. “Despite our adversarial past.”
He looked up at the full moon, glowing above, trying to find the words.
“You were never the enemy,” Kagome said in a quiet tone. “And you saved me, too. Twice.”
“I did. And yet I didn’t know…” His hand clenched. He swallowed. “Over this past year, my feelings have changed. Grown. Towards you. I…”
The word hung in the air as Sesshoumaru stared helplessly at Kagome.
She shook her head. Her hands, resting in her lap, curled into fists.
“I didn’t know. I had no idea.”
“Of course you didn’t,” he hurried to say. “That is… I did not wish to admit it and then when I did I wasn’t planning to act on my feelings –”
“Why not?” she asked.
“I wasn’t sure it was all proper. Because of Inuyasha.”
She looked at him, frowning.
“What changed your mind?”
Sesshoumaru shrugged. “He did.”
“What?”
“When I heard that he might have… moved on, I went to him. Told him everything.”
Her voice was scarcely a whisper. “He knows? About this? About your… for me?”
“Yes. And he told me I should not hold back on his regard.”
Kagome’s lips curved. The smile was small and wistful.
“He always wanted me to happy.”
“Of course he would,” Sesshoumaru said.
Kagome looked away, at the lake spreading around them, the sky stretching above them.
The moon, full and big, gilding everything in silver. The multitude of stars, glimmering on the surface of the water.
Finally, her gaze settled on him again.
Her chin tilted as she met his eyes.
“Go on then,” she said.
Sesshoumaru felt his cheeks heat. His heart hammered in his chest.
“Would you permit… Would you do me the honour of allowing me to court you?”
He held his breath. His life and future balanced at the edge of a knife, hanging on a single word.
Which one would it be?
Her blue eyes were big and searching him. Her posture still. Her expression considering.
He could not read her.
Kagome’s shoulders straightened. She took a breath.
And with a single word, decided the course the future would take for him. For her.
For them.
The word slowly sank into his mind, rushed through his veins. He feared his heart might burst.
He echoed the word, wanting to make sure he had understood, needing to hear it again from her lips.
“Yes?”
She smiled at him then, brighter than the moon above.
“Yes,” she told him again.

You guys think just cause I don’t always mention it that you can escape Kamisama Kiss? Oh no my friends. I will talk about it and I will force you all to listen (affectionate). Contains spoilers
The first character I first fell in love with:
Tomoe. Look I was again like 11, I was experiencing crushes for the first time. I did not yet appreciate Nanami like I should have been doing. Tomoe hands down.
Honestly it’s kind of embarassing looking back on this series and seeing how much it affected my taste in fictional characters. You could line up most of my favs, look at Kamisama Kiss, and go hmmmm. I even made a joke about Yukiji and Kikyo. So, yeah. Thanks Tomoe, thanks for keeping me from ever having good taste in fictional men again.
Okay but to be fair to Tomoe he is a genuinely wonderful character. The arc he goes through is one of my favorite character arcs ever. That Julietta Suzuki understood that loving one person does not mean you love all of humanity, and having Tomoe to confront the fact that he was still prejudiced against people despite being deeply in love with Nanami, was a stroke of pure genius. I cannot express how much I appreciate that. You did not have to spoil us like this and yet you did. And I am deeply appreciative.
Also he is very romantic you gotta give him that. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
I was very much blind to how amazing Nanami was the first time I read/watched this series and that was a mistake. Nanami is my favorite shoujo protagonist by a long shot. She has flaws, she’s outspoken, she’s not afraid to stand up for herself or be honest even if it puts her in conflict with Tomoe.
Wayyy too many shoujo protagonists are like cardboard or never stand up for themselves or only allow themslves to be optimistic and perky and it drives me crazy. Having a protagonist not afraid to be angry or resentful or flawed is just so wonderful. Yes Nanami is generally bubbly, but she’s not afraid to dip into darker emotions, while still staying true to herself and her moral compass. I love her so much now and I cannot believe how much I took her for granted on first blush. The character everyone else loves that I don’t:
Sorry Kurama, you just aren’t my fav. Not to say I dislike you just... ehhhh. I am like Nanami in your introductory chapter. Uninterested.
(He’s still a good character and has an interesting arc he’s just the one I’m least interested in). The character I love that everyone else hates:
Look. I know Akura-oh committed a lot of war crimes and is an evil bastard, but I have to admit his redemption arc just gets me. That he finds love for humanity not via romance but via love for his basically adoptive mother? That is some I have seen in like 0 other pieces of shoujo media (and media in general except maybe Shion and Satoko) and I love it. I don’t necessarily like him more for it in regards to what he did, but I appreciate him a lot, and I... yeah. It makes me emotional lol.
Also he’s like a flamboyant bitter ex boyfriend what can I say?
Also Yukiji, definitely is anyone hates Yukiji I’m sorry but I will defend her to the death. I love so much that she wasn’t written off as an awful person for the sake of a love triangle that she didn’t even want to be in that kinda didn’t even exist.  I love that she found her own personal love and fulfillment. I love that she is complex and has the potential for love and hate. I love her so much.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer:
Honestly like none of them. I love all of them. They make me cry and laugh. AHHHHHHHHH.  The character I would totally smooch:
I would smooch Tomoe. I might be embarassed to admit it because like, I have not changed apparently, but I would.
Oh and Yukiji. I would 110% smooch Yukiji. The character I’d want to be like:
Nanami definitely. Also Mizuki, his ability to find happiness after heartbreak is something I wish for. The character I’d slap:
Sorry Akura-oh I’m coming for you. Also yeah I’d slap past Tomoe even if I love him. He deserves it. A pairing that I love:
Nanami x Tomoe of course, I am basic bitch. Yukiji x the lord she marries makes me cry too. A pairing that I despise:
Nanami x Kurama is an absolutely not. Also same with Nanami x Mizuki cause it feels like it undermines Mizuki’s character arc

The romance between Toga and Izayoi is well developed and compelling in part because the original series focused on Inuyasha and his status as a hanyou and how that affected his relationships with his brother, Kikyo, the world in general.
We see that Toga loved Izayoi, gave her gifts, protected her and Inuyasha, but I also see arguments being given that he had more with Izayoi than with Sesshomaru’s mom.  I like to think that what he had with Izayoi was different but not necessarily more important than the relationship he had with Sesshomaru’s mom.
Before Yashahime, the shell with rouge was never declared to be a gift from Inuyasha’s father to his mother.  It was dear to Inuyasha because it belonged to his mother, but not because it was a connection with both parents.  Not that it matters, but in the new series, it looks like they are definitively declaring her to be an official wife by emphasizing the shell and it’s status as a gift from Toga to his lady wife.
We know that Inuyasha’s father sacrifices himself to save his mother and him at birth, but we also know he was dying anyway.  He had said his final goodbyes to Sesshomaru, and we know those did not go so well.  We did NOT see his final goodbye with Sesshomaru’s mom, but clearly, he DID go to see her.  He also gave her the gift of the Meido stone along with instructions about how to help their son, who, honestly, was going through pubescent angst and dumbassery and needed a good lesson that the father would not be around to impart.
When Sesshomaru’s mom speaks to Sesshomaru, she is impish and kind of cruel, but at heart, she loves her son.  She does everything she does according to his dead father’s wishes to help him.  Toga was dead.  She did not have to do anything if she did not want to do so.  At the end, when she sees Sesshomaru’s grief and makes him come face to face with it, she speaks to him sternly, tells him what he needs to know, and then proceeds to revive Rin for him -- just to make him happy -- all this fuss over a little human girl, but she does it.  Afterward, she even warns Kohaku that his life cannot be saved either.  She did not need to do that.  She showed compassion to Kohaku, and whether it was for Kohaku’s sake or because she thought Kohaku was also someone important to her son (he was part of the entourage after all), the point is she was kind. She’s not so cruel and cold as she may first appear.  To me this means she has the capacity to love and be compassionate -- something we know was very important to Sesshomaru’s father.
She has the little statement that Sesshomaru has picked up his father’s odd trait in loving humans, but she does not seem particularly upset, just mystified. She doesn’t get it, but whatever, as long as he’s happy.  I imagine that was her attitude with her husband’s relationship with Izayaoi.
If these relationships follow the courtly rules, Toga could have had many more wives as well as lovers and concubines, and honestly, in the original, I got more of the idea that Izayoi was a lover, not a wife -- far more romantic that way and makes Sesshomaru’s fury a little more understandable.  The true born heir passed over for the child of a lover!  How dare he!  Also, the series showed Izayoi and Inuyasha being shunned, and while the prejudice against hanyou runs deep, if Izayoi had been an official wife, would it have been so bad?  I can’t say.  It’s just that I got the sense that Izayoi had really transgressed in her relationship with Toga, and the fallout in her human court was not pretty.
As far as Sesshomaru’s mom goes, she could have had her own set of (discreet) lovers.  No biggie.  However, we don’t see evidence of this at all, and just because we know Toga loved Izayoi, it does not mean he loved Sesshomaru’s mom any less.  Differently, yes, but not less.
Not that it really matters, but I just don’t like the idea of the relationship between Sesshomaru’s mom and Toga being seen as less than that between Izayoi and Toga.  It’s true we don’t have much information about it, but as a result, I don’t think we can say at this time that it was a lesser relationship.

Alright, so I’m bad at Tumblr, and though I wanted to just reblog the original post from @strawberrycreampiefluff and put most of it under a cut or perhaps find a way to trim it, I couldn’t find a way to make it work. So, we’re starting a new thread. Here’s the link the other one if anyone reading hasn’t been following the discussion and want to catch up: https://strawberrycreampiefluff.tumblr.com/post/625063196626223104/what-do-you-think-of-this-whole-ppl-shipping
Anyhow, since we discussed this beforehand, I’ll start from the beginning, only working with the storytelling elements from the series, and I’ll leave out the latter part of the post regarding moralizing (which I mostly agree with anyway, so it’s no loss to me).
“I  was trying to convey that considering the methods of storywriting and telling,  it would break the “pattern” Rumiko Takashi built up and lowering the  impact of Sessh character growth he would later experience.  A father-daughter bond is not inferior to a romantic bond, but it  would seem out of place, to have both his father and brother form a  romantic relationship with a human and then Sessh breaking that pattern  by introducing a new kind of relationship-dynamic - when he is the most  crucial character in the series when it comes to demon-human relations.”
I’m still quite unclear HOW the impact of Sesshomaru’s character growth is necessarily lowered from not having a romantic bond with a human. Why is the continuation of this pattern so important, in your view, to the character’s development? From my perspective, introducing a new relationship dynamic into and breaking patterns is actually a good thing in stories - It’s a great way to add variety and a different point of view to a narrative. Having characters take a pattern in a different, unique direction can add meaning in a way the reader couldn’t see coming, give the story unexpected dimension.
And you’ve already said that you and other shippers like yourself don’t see anything romantic while Rin is still a child in the original series, so that is effectively what happened. Since we agree that the relationship wasn’t actually romantic within the context of the original Inuyasha series, Sesshomaru took a love of a human in an entirely different direction than his father or his brother did. Which conveys complexity in how youkai can relate to humans that wasn’t in the established pattern. As a reader, I find that kind of thing fun and engaging, though you may disagree.
“A father-daughter relationship would still put Sessh in a superior position to Rin (as the father), not adding a lot to his character development other than him caring for one other human being.”
I have to wince here, because while yes, technically Sesshomaru is in a superior position to Rin in a father-daughter relationship, the implication here is that this can be compared to the sense of superiority he had over humans as a whole that you referenced earlier. Is a parent-child relationship really comparable to a racist outlook? I feel like these two things are quite unrelated, having two ENTIRELY different connotations from the word “superior”. One is an entirely natural superior position, using one’s greater experience, knowledge, and ability to facilitate the growth and guidance of someone still on their way up. The other is a wholly unnatural and malicious disregard for a person based on superficial features. Sesshomaru’s superior attitude toward humans before he met Rin was not based on a paternalistic concern, but complete disgust and the notion that they were entirely unworthy of consideration. The two connotations of “superior” here are just not analogous in the greater narrative.
“In a romantic relationship, both partners should be equals (anything  other is unacceptable), for this to happen Sessh would’ve had to lower himself  (his pride) to Rins level, since he was the one with the big ego and  humans were regarded as one of the lower creatures of the food chain.”
Again, I think it is entirely possible for Sesshomaru to learn not to regard humans as “lower on the food chain” through a relationship that ISN’T romance, but that aside, this whole notion brings up a question: why didn’t Rumiko Takahashi write Rin into the story as a young adult? We’ve already discussed how romantic implications to the relationship couldn’t exist while she’s still a child in the series, and why Sesshomaru and Rin are definitely NOT equal during the series. So if it was so important for Sesshomaru to be otherwise equal to Rin so he can lower his pride and truly consider her such, why was Rin not written as a fully autonomous adult so we could cut to the chase? It seems that if what you’re describing was really Rumiko Takahashi’s intent, it would have been a lot easier if the girl was already grown up. At the very least, our dear author could have ended the series when Rin was an appropriate age to actually make the point instead of leaving it hanging.
“Doing the exact same thing he criticized his father for, which  for him would’ve been humiliating in the beginning of the series. The  sequel (if you regard it as canon) goes even farther, making him create  his own half demons - the very reason he hated his brother in the first  place. His mother even said he becomes like his father in the strangest  ways - and the only “strange” thing we know about his father was his  romantic relationship with Izayoi.”
Since English isn’t your first language, I’m guessing you’re just mistaken in the map of this sentence, but the word “strange” here is referring to Sesshomaru’s behavior in relation to his father’s. What is strange is how Sesshomaru is like his father, not his father’s ways. This actually makes the opposite point - it seems to refer to the ways in which Sesshomaru is behaving as odd, maybe in relation to a pattern his father fit into.
“That’s why I think it wouldn’t fall apart if we draw the parallel in a wider context as you say, because other characters didn’t have the same starting point  as Sessh. I very much agree with you, that Inuyasha’s platonic bonds  would also count as a dog forming close bonds with humans, but in  Inuyasha’s or Shippou’s case, they didn’t need the same character  development like Sessh, since they had a different attitude towards  humans or “lesser-beings” in the first place (Inuyasha was even past the  stage of lowering himself, also out of romantic reasons btw, since he  was ready to become human for Kikyo).”
I’m curious as to how the parallel and pattern matter if it’s null and void because Inuyasha and the other characters we talked about have different character arcs. Of course they aren’t starting from the same place as Sesshomaru, characters never do. They’re varied and diverse because it would be boring as tar to write them all going through the same issues. My point about the parallel was that even if it could be said that there’s some similarity in how dog YOUKAI form bonds with humans to actual DOGS, it’s not really a good parallel, because there are other “species” of youkai much less friendly with humans doing it too. I’m having trouble understanding what this argument has to do with that.
In reference to the above, I agree, the example characters you cited didn’t have the same level of dismissive racism as Sesshomaru did (I say “same level” because Shippou does carry a bit of prejudice, even as a small child), but when that’s apparent, why is the pattern even relevant? Since the characters aren’t set to all learn the same lesson, their relationships shouldn’t really resemble each other’s in the long run either, should they? Writers use relationships as tools for character development, and they usually want to use the right tool for the right job. Maybe romantic love with a human was right for Inuyasha because he had issues with vulnerability and reconciling his half-heritage. What if SESSHOMARU benefited more as a character from an unconditional bond (free from the conditions of sexual/romantic attraction) to demonstrate to him how even the weakest creature is incomprehensibly valuable for reasons impossible to articulate, and they are worth using his incredible level of “superior” power to protect and defend them? It’s a different kind of humbling oneself than what you were talking about, but I think it’s just as meaningful, and it fits Sesshomaru’s character development neatly into the the original text. It doesn’t require Sunrise make a sequel more than a decade later to wrap up the character development that Rumiko Takahashi meant to do when Rin grew up even though she could have just written her in as an adult in the first place.
“But Rin will obviously not always stay 8/11 years old, she will grow  into her own person and become a woman (while living apart from Sessh),  creating a completely different power dynamic with Sessh. One that would  still be an imbalance, but much different than when she was a child.”
As far as the narrative was concerned, Rin COULD very well have stayed a child forever, though. She was written as a character in a story. When the story is done, so are the characters. You’ve said before and here that Inuyasha is just fiction, and it is, but accepting that means accepting that Rin doesn’t grow up without some prompting. She doesn’t age but through the hand of a creator, fanfiction authors or Sunrise. When you say she’s not going to stay 8-11 forever, what you mean is that actual humans who experience actual time are not satisfied with her age as it stood when the story ended, and actively impose time upon her.
And since applying time to a fictional character is something that has to be intentional, so too do the conditions you mention to create the perfect environment for the ship. The different dynamic that isn’t father-daughter, but still a little bit of not-weird power imbalance. The “lowering” of Sesshomaru’s ego in that specific romantic way (that I’m still not sure I understand, but we’ll go with it). The way in which the romance is developed without either character realizing it so that Sesshomaru can’t be accused of using the power imbalance to manipulate a girl he’s had authority over since she was eight. Returning to what catalyzed the change in Sesshomaru in the first place while carefully treading around the fact that it was built upon an unconditional relationship that now suddenly has conditions on it. That’s a lot of mental legwork to do, which is fine, because that’s part of creative expression. But you have to acknowledge that none of this would be necessary if the pairing were “obvious”.
It certainly wasn’t very obvious to some of us. We came to a very different conclusion, saw everything a bit differently. Now we’re being punished for having a less popular interpretation of this relationship, shut down by SUNRISE and told that we don’t get to have that interpretation, because they’re considered an authority on what is canon in Inuyasha, and they’re taking sides to squeeze more money out of the Inuyasha franchise with a next-gen sequel. It doesn’t seem to matter that Sunrise was never really very good at telling Inuyasha stories, or that next-gen sequels never seem to be any good for lack of stakes and boring plots.
Sunrise’s interpretation is still considered to be more “valid” than ours. And that really hurts. So, if you found yourself wondering why there’s so much vitriol coming from the anti camp, it’s a combination of this, and the fact that they don’t really have the option of avoiding the content they don’t like anymore. It’s kind of EVERYWHERE now.
So, there we are. I don’t want to give the impression from the above that I’m trying to tear apart your arguments to somehow discredit the pairing. Shippers gonna ship, whether it makes sense to me or not. But I did want to highlight how any of the things you bring up can very well be interpreted entirely differently.
Hope you’re doing well, and you did well on that exam. :)

Hey, hey, hey, look what I finished yesterday! Finally done, here is the epilogue to Slave to your Heart. Which, you know since you clicked on it...
Anyway, so I have a few fics to chose from for next and I was assured these were wanted to be heard. Or rather read. Please keep in mind, the sequel to Bad Karma, Terrible Fate, and Cell Mates isn't on this list because they will be posted next along with the ones I'm listing here for consideration. I like to do a cannon based fic and an AU in tandem when posting. Or try to anyway, I'm also still posting for SM and working on originals so this might get a back seat from time to time.
So here's what I got (none of these are finished yet but close):
The Shogan's Daughter: Kagome agrees to marry a man, sight unseen so that her village falls under his protection. With a steady rice supply and a few soldiers to protect them, she leaves home and enters the house of one Inuyasha Tenoe. Married life is made so much more difficult with enemy threats hoping to take Tenoe's title from him, ex-lovers weakening Kagome's resolve, and falling in love with your husband no matter how hard you try not to. Set in a Feudal Japan.
Beautiful Hell (working title): She was free. It almost killed her but she had escaped and now she just had to stay out of the dark clutches of her former king. And not be discovered for what she was by the new one. Too bad the Prince is a glutton for punishment, meeting the fiery Kagome, and doing what? Putting her in his harem of course! The setting is a made-up world but hints at Arabic tones.
Hidden Demons: Kagome was doing as commanded, going deep into the Vragoli territory and entering the fabled Crnac Mountains. But she is there to ensure peace, wanting nothing more than to keep her home, Fatamorgora from any more attacks. Her first time in Nema Dusa and yet, the King feels so familiar. Confused, she'll have plenty of time to figure it out, or will she? Her mind slipping all around with dreams that feel more like memories of a past she never had! The setting is made-up here as well but similar to The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings kind of vibes.
All of these are romances and have lemons btw. Let me know what you guys think?
Thanks @lemonlushff for the pointer. Loving this new cover and the Canva app!

Resolutions
Trudging off the elevator, I let my irritation roll off me in spades. Inuyasha's secretary didn't even try to stop me. Maybe he had already warned her of my coming? She knew better than to try to hold me back.
I took some of my anger out on the door, his door, and enjoyed how he jumped a little from my entrance. "Alright, I'm here. Where is it?"
He pointed and I went straight for it, quickly finding Moroha's much-needed school book. "I had hoped you'd bring the baby with you." I stopped, only to flash him a look then grabbed up Moroha's large French book. "She's doing this on purpose you know."
I sighed because he was right. "I know."
"She doesn't want to leave me."
"I know."
"We should probably do something…"
"We are doing something about it!" I fumed.
Inuyasha sat back, a grin pulling at his lips, "You're really upset being here? Forced to see me?"
"Right now I am!" I softened at that because it wasn't his fault. "We're doing what's best for us and that's best for the kids. This is what I want."
His grin faded and he lifted a dark brow. "What you want?"
"You gave me the choice…"
"You're right." He conceded, quicker than he used to. Maybe he was finally giving up? "You can always...stay. Here. With me."
Or maybe not, "Thank you, but no."
His smile was small as he nodded. "I'll see you this weekend then?"
"Of course. I do have plans. Big ones."
"I know. I'll be waiting to see you and the kids again."
He would always wait for me. Two years later and that would never change, I was certain.
The apartment was small. Especially for four people even if three of them were very small.
"Do we have to stay here?!"
"Moroha, it's a few more days. Now finish your broccoli."
With a frown, she did as told. Sota was morose as well. At this point, I was mostly used to it but it still ate at me. Haori was busy getting her peas all over herself while we all sat together at the small table just off the even smaller kitchen. "It's just until the weekend. Then you'll be back at Daddy's"
Nothing more was said but I knew she had more. Waiting until bedtime, I came to tuck her in last. Sitting on the edge of her bed, I leaned my back against the headboard. "Alright, Haori could wake any second now so make it quick."
My toddler was teething, sleeping through the night was impossible these days. Moroha stared at her fingers a moment longer, twisting them in the sheets before throwing her head back to look at me. "You're really going to marry him?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
I huffed, wrapping an arm around my firstborn. She took after her father with her mood swings. "Because I love him. And it will be good for us. All of us."
"Everything is going to change."
"No. Nothing is going to change. Other than us moving out of this place."
I glanced around at the half-filled suitcase. Moroha still needed to pack. "Things will change! I just know it!"
She was pouting and I couldn't help but laugh. "Okay, so some things will change. But they'll be for the better. I promise."
"So...this really is what you want? What Daddy wants? Being apart like this?"
I couldn't speak for Inuyasha but I knew he would lie and support me on this if need be. "Yes. It's what we both want."
oOo
Sango entered in the door right behind me as I stood staring at myself in the full-length mirror. "Do I look stupid?"
Her mouth was still dropped to the floor so she shook it instead of saying anything.
"I look stupid," I answered for her, pulling at the long white gown.
Quick to my side, she slapped my hands away. "Stop it! You look gorgeous!"
"I shouldn't have picked white. Everyone knows I'm not a virgin!"
"Who cares! You still look as pure as the day I met you."
"Sango. I had already lost my 'purity' when you met me."
"Exactly." I released a nervous giggle and she laughed, twisting a fallen curl behind my ear. "You do look beautiful. And ready."
"Yeah. I am. I've been ready for this for months now."
"He's a great man," Sango said with a sad smile.
"Oh god don't you start!"
She was dabbing at her eyes but the tears were still coming. "Sorry. Hormones."
A few tears of my own threatened, "Just because you had twins doesn't mean you beat me when it comes to 'mommy tears'. You're going to make me ruin my makeup!"
Sango quickly sobered at that, coming in close to fluff my dress. "How is Inuyasha handling all of this?"
I focused on my reflection instead of the skip inside my chest. "Don't know. But I'm sure he's doing the same as when we spoke about it last. He's not pleased about it but he wants me to be happy. It'll all be over soon and he will move on from this. "
"I guess that's as good as you're going to get," Sango said with a small chuckle.
Kanna, the wedding organizer, appeared in the doorway. "It's time, Kagome."
With Sango my maid of honor and only bride's maid, it was a short procession. I walked alone down the aisle, the rows of pews of the small church filled on both sides. On the groom's side, I mostly recognized faces while forgetting names. But on my side, I saw all the faces of the friends I had made throughout my life smiling back at me brightly. Most I had made in the last two years, gaining my freedom from Inuyasha's home. Then there were ones like Kaede and the girls from the home that I knew from long ago as well.
I looked to the front of the church, my groom waiting for me. He had his hair freshly cut, the shaggy short locks something I had gotten used to after having long ones draped over me night after night. A good change, I had told myself from the first time.
His hand out, I took it with little hesitation, glancing back at my three children seated in the front row. Moroha gave me a small but happy smile while holding little Haori tight. Sota was just happy I was happy, my little momma's boy. If I had chosen anyone else, I think he would have been more protective but he couldn't find fault in my new husband and neither could I.
Wrapped around his arm, I was led by my hand to stand fully in front of the preacher. Neither of us were truly religious but wanted a real and official wedding in front of everyone. As the man spoke, I stared at my mate, my husband. Inuyasha could fuss all he wanted but I would never regret this choice or the other choices I had made years ago.
I was happy.
oOo
Two years ago exactly...
The day was waning and Inuyasha's words were still ringing in my brain. Of course, they were, it was a lot. Inuyasha had been there the night my family died. He considered himself responsible.
In a way, he was.
And he had been watching over me as best he could ever since. I suppose that made him my guardian angel of sorts.
He took me in when things were the bleakest, loved me, cared for me even if it was done in the strangest manner possible. He was the only man I had ever known, my entire life was spent waiting for him without me even realizing it.
He had married someone else; he had more experiences than I had. That left a bitter seed in my chest, small and unkempt. It was why when I was 'sold' I believed it, because I didn't know why he ever married Kikyo. Now, knowing he did it to protect me, that seed withered quickly and died.
It didn't change the fact that there was much in this life I had little experience in. Or that he had lied to me for as long as I had known him.
Inuyasha surely expected me to take days to answer him. But I knew what I wanted by the time the kids were in bed asleep.
It didn't take long to find him, expecting him to be in bed but instead he was in the bathroom. The soft buzzing sound coming from it quickly gained my attention. I walked into a massacre.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
He jumped a little but luckily not too much, an electric razor in his hand against his scalp. His long mane was in a bundle, tied and cut off, lying on the counter next to the sink. While he cut the rest off with his razor, short sprigs all around.
"I thought… it was time for a change?" My mouth just hung open and he turned his eyes back to him in the mirror to finish. "I'm almost done."
"But..but...why?"
He shrugged and buzzed the remaining longer hairs off. "Long hair was a family… statement so I had it this way for most of my life. Then I kept it to help with the Naraku case whenever I could, as long hair was still a family trait and would get me into places for evidence. Now that Naraku is locked away… I don't want it anymore."
I picked up the discarded mane off the counter. It was still warm from when it rested against his back. "I've only ever known you like this though."
"Should I have asked you?"
Finished, he faced me, covered in white hair. "No, but you could at least have gone to a salon! Aren't you a millionaire or something?"
He chuckled, taking a step closer but keeping his distance at the same time. "I didn't want to wait."
"Really?" I asked, twerking an eyebrow up at him. "Busy waiting for something else?"
Reaching out a brave hand, he ran his fingers down my arm from my bicep to my elbow. "I'll always wait for you, as long as it takes."
"Then… can you wait a year? Or two?" Fear and confusion mixed on his face and I giggled, quickly closing the gap between to be taken instantly into his arms. "I want to have this baby and lose the weight before we get married. And I want Naraku firmly locked away behind bars so my family is safe…"
"But… you want to marry me?"
He was still confused and I found it adorable. "I love you, Inuyasha."
"What about… your family?"
"You can blame yourself all you want for that but it was your father, not you. If you had been there, you never would have let it happen. You're not that kind of person. Yes, I miss them but I also let go of their deaths long ago. So, even if I was to blame you, I've moved on. I've forgiven you and all those responsible." The tension in his shoulders released as did his fear I imagine he'd had for years now. "Plus, you have more than made up for it; you've given me a beautiful family."
His forehead pressed heavily to mine and I tried not to mourn the missing locks that used to drape over us when he did this. "You're the one that gave me a beautiful family. When you got pregnant with Moroha… I was so happy I thought I would die. And then terrified you would get taken along with her."
Kissing the tip of his nose, I stayed on my toes, closer to him. "You've been afraid for a long time, haven't you?"
He was rubbing my back as if to make sure I was real. "Yes. And I almost lost you so now I know my fears were well-founded."
"Inuyasha… all of that is over. You have to let it go, let me go. I don't want to spend the rest of my life stuck inside this house."
"I know," he said but still gripped my shirt tight as if he would never let go, "but it will be hard."
"You can come with us, we'll all go out together. As a family. Until you're comfortable with it."
"And with bodyguards after."
"Inuyasha…"
"I love you so fucking much, Kagome."
I pushed his head back with mine to suck his bottom lip into my teeth. The action got me crushed to him, the arms already around me tightening and pulling me hard. I responded, wrapping my arms around his neck, his shorter hairs sticking into my skin with each twist of his head to get more of my mouth. Like the animals in heat that we were, we lapped at each other, our tongues twisting together between our mouths. My ass hit the countertop, Inuyasha lifting me and setting me down on it for more use of his hands. They grabbed the hem of my shirt and ripped it up and off.
Topless, I sat in nothing more than my cloth shorts, my legs around him as I pulled his shirt off in response. I was looking at his skin, running my hands slowly over his muscled stomach, chest, and arms, enjoying myself thoroughly. "I should take a shower. Get this hair off of me."
Looking up from his adonis shaped body, I looked right back into his burning eyes. Turning like the molten lead as they always did when I was even the slightest bit naked.
"Let me help you with that." I offered, popping the button on his jeans off and working them off his hips.
He chuckled, the first in what felt like forever as the last of his worry melted away with our heat. "I do love how horny you get when you're pregnant."
"This has nothing to do with that. I just want you. Always."
He bent me back with his kiss, my back gently hitting the mirror behind. My shorts and underwear between, he ground his hard shaft against my core, throwing gas on my flames. I dug my nails into his shoulders, showing my appreciation that was mixed with frustration.
Okay, so some of this might have been hormones, feeling like I would burst into ash if he didn't fuck me soon.
But Inuyasha never made me wait, lifting me up and off the counter to take us to the shower. My shorts were wet inside and now out as he held us under the spray. Pressing me against the wall of the shower now. His long, hard cock rubbed painfully against me and I could take no more, pushing him back. My shorts and panties almost hit the tiled floor before my feet, if that were physically possible.
I was spun less than a heartbeat after, my hands on the tile before me as Inuyasha bent me over and thrusted in. His pelvis was flush with my ass in an instant and I cried hard, arching my back to give him more of myself. He was slapping my ass with his hips, the sound echoing off the walls as were my cries. I listened intently, wanting to hear his grunts and groans in kind. They were loud and made me swell with pride. I loved making him lose his mind.
An arm wrapped around my ribs, pulling me upright while another lifted my legs. Now, both hands were under my thighs, bouncing me. My hands-free and my legs held apart, I reached down and rubbed my clit, a loud groan from Inuyasha in appreciation when the action had me tightening around him.
My head fell back on his shoulder, calling out his name in reverence as I came. He was slow to stop, lowering my legs back to the ground but not pulling out, not yet. His body was wrapped around me, arms around my ribs that I held in place while his chest covered my back. His head on my shoulder, he had his lips pressed to my ear, whispering so he could save his breath as much as possible.
"I know you might be mad… but I never cared about protection with you. I wanted you almost all my life. And I wanted a family with you just as long."
I patted his arms around me. "If it ever bothered me, I would have said so long ago."
"Then why do you always hide it from me? Were you scared?" I slowly nodded. "Each time?"
"I didn't know what to say with Moroha. We were just… I thought we were just fucking. That I was your slave. With Sota… well, not telling you worked out so well the first time. I was going to tell you about this one but then you told me about your wife…"
"Ex-wife."
"It just didn't seem like the time…"
"You didn't want me to know. Either of the times. But I guess that was my fault." His hold tightened a little, running a hand over my belly that was still too flat to notice. "Will you tell me next time? Before you're months along?"
"Next time?!"
He pressed a hard kiss to my neck and pulled out, spinning me in his hold so he could press an equally hard kiss to my lips. I ran my hands through his remaining hair, acclimating myself to the new length. It was different, one of the many changes that were coming our way. But we would be facing them all together.
And I was happy.
oOo
Taking a break, I sat at the table assigned for the bridal party and watched the crowd around me. Mostly, I watched Kagome as she went around from friend to friend, letting them congratulate her and then sticking around for a few more moments to talk and laugh.
God, she was beautiful. And mine, the gold band I twisted on my finger only a symbol that I felt we really didn't need. But we both wanted it.
Moroha was dancing with a few other kids she invited from her class. She was just as beautiful as her mother even with my hair. Sota was getting another piece of cake and little Haori was currently getting bounced on my lap. She really did look like her mother, big teal eyes that stared up at me with wonder as dark curls framed her round face. I quickly wiped her chin of drool for the thousandth time in what was a losing battle. Poor baby was teething, which was why I let her gum my finger, a few small sharp teeth just starting to peek out and pressing into my bone from time to time.
Kagome's eyes found mine, catching me staring but I didn't care, she was glowing with happiness. I felt no shame in watching my new bride sway her way to us, Haori holding out her hands for her mother to take her as soon as Kagome was near. Now on her mother's hip, she gurgled a 'mama' and I watched from my seat in awe.
I was so damn happy I could die.
"I think I should put this one to bed soon."
Her eyes on Haori's face, I watched as Kagome cooed towards the toddler. "You going to cave and just nurse her to sleep? I don't blame you but you'll never get her weaned if you..."
"I wasn't talking about the baby." She said with a smirk that she soon turned towards me. "I've been ready to leave this place since we got here."
I chuckled, even as I got hard from her words and my imagination. "Funny, I've been ready for a week now."
Her smirk turned into a grin at that, "And now tonight is going to be special."
"Kagome, it would have been special regardless. Forget what you in that dress is doing to me, you pledged your life to me today, of course, I'm going to go crazy. But we'll be high in the sky tonight."
She shrugged, turning her attention back to Haori. "I don't regret my choice. The week apart made this feel more real."
"And how did you find it? Living on your own with the kids?"
Her smile faltered for a second but shook it away quickly. "Well, that wasn't fun. They missed you a lot."
There was sadness in her tone so I jumped to my feet and wrapped my arms around the two of them. "They still saw me every day. And even Moroha was clever enough to force you to see me this week."
I was laughing but Kagome wasn't pleased. "I probably should have just brought us all home after that. Kinda defeats the purpose of not seeing one another until the wedding if I have to go into your office in the middle of it."
"Do you know how hard it was not to bend you over my desk when you walked in? I didn't get any work done before or after you left. I was thinking about it so much!" Her cheeks turned a slight pink at that. I loved how she still blushed when I talked dirty to her. "It doesn't matter now, Kagome. The week is over. We're married and will never be apart again."
"None of us," she cooed to the baby, "even Haori missed her Daddy."
"And I missed her," I said, leaning over and giving the baby a kiss.
Then I leaned down and gave my wife one. Seconds away from reaching down the front of her dress and grabbing a breast, the crowd burst into applause, reminding me we weren't alone. Even though I felt like I was always alone with Kagome, her putting me in a bubble that made it easy to forget the outside world.
I released her, the crowd clapping for our kiss when we hadn't done it for them, not at all. Out of my stupor, I quickly found my other children, Moroha still with her friends while Sota had returned to the seat next to my vacated one, shoveling in cake. The kid was going through a growth spurt and was always eating these days.
Kagome released a frustrated sigh, shaking with her need as I was. I couldn't help but grin. She was the one who wanted a week apart before the wedding, taking the kids with her to stay in Sango's old apartment. So, it was her own fault really and I just had to laugh as she shifted her weight and it wasn't to accommodate the baby on her hip.
"You guys dropped your stuff back at the house, right?"
"Yes. We're all ready to go as soon as we are released."
I chuckled again, making it sound like a prison sentence. "We could leave anytime we want, it's our reception."
She glanced around and then back at me. "I am feeling a bit… tired."
I caught on quick, "Oh yeah, so tired."
I had my arms around her again, praying people didn't applaud us again just for touching. Kagome was so far gone, she moaned when I squeezed her hip. "Inuyasha…"
Just to be a dick, I leaned in and nipped her neck. She gasped and for a second, I worried she'd drop the baby. Instead, she reached around and grabbed my cock through my slacks. Now I was the one moaning and it wasn't nearly as soft as Kagome's had been. Shit, I wanted her but that was nothing new. My desire and need for Kagome would never change or falter. If there was one thing I had learned all these years, it was that.
I carefully pulled her hand away after I let her stroke me a few times because fuck it felt good. "We should go say our goodbyes."
I could care less about letting people know we were leaving. But the kids needed to get ready, Moroha telling her friends bye and Sota washing his sugar covered face. He had a few friends here too that he left to find. Kagome went around, Haori on her hip, and hugged each person she came across. I went to the one person that I truly liked the most.
Helping greatly in putting Naraku away for seven consecutive life sentences, he was my best friend. "Well, we're off."
He turned long black ponytail currently in the hands and mouth of his six-month-old, the youngest. The twins had to be around here somewhere. "Already? Party is just getting started."
"Yeah, well, there's another party I'd much rather be attending, currently, in my pants."
Miroku chuckled, shaking his head, "I don't blame you. If Sango cut me off for a week… actually she's done that a few times and it's not fun."
"Kagome never cuts me off. Not like this."
His free hand clapped my shoulder, "You're a lucky man, my friend. Not many would have a situation like yours turn out so well."
"My situation…"
"I was there remember? Did you think I missed your 'purchase'? You must think I'm a terrible detective…"
"I just thought you were a better one, focusing on the case instead of the auction like I was."
The smile Miroku wore was broad, "Thanks. The highest of compliments coming from you." He took a step closer and leaned in to whisper. "While I have you, I thought you'd like to know that Interpol arrested Kikyo last night."
"What?! On what charge?"
"Drugs. Turns out, without Naraku backing her, she's a terrible drug mule."
I shook my head, "I still can't believe the two of them were… well, it makes sense and it doesn't. How else would Kikyo have known to look into me when she hadn't given a shit in years?"
"And then know to send Kagome to Naraku. Did you ever figure out you gave you up?"
I laughed but it was hollow. "Yeah, it was Moroha actually. Phone records showed Kikyo calling the house a few times over the years when I wasn't home. Sota was too young and Kagome never answered the phone. When Moroha was three, she had a fascination with anything that made a noise. She used to steal my cell phone all the time and play with it. Best I can figure, she answered Kikyo's calls a few times and talked to a stranger just like any other kid her age would, babbling on about her life and family."
"And then Kikyo set up that 'sale' with Naraku…"
"I'll get in contact with Interpol when we get back, set up a few more charges for Kikyo like kidnapping. And endangering a child, she scared the shit out of Sota. I couldn't get him out of the closet for hours!"
Rage swelled in me at the memory but I forced a few deep breaths to calm down. Today wasn't about this, it was a happy day.
I glanced around at my family, the four of them slowly coming together. Moroha played sweetly with Haori while Sota held tight to his mother. Such a beautiful family, it was hard to believe they were mine sometimes and this was one of those times.
Now instead of anger, I was fighting back joy because I was close to tears.
The crowd was sending us off, finally free as the sun slipped below the horizon. A quick change of clothes and we were off again, all of us on our way to the airport. The kids were all sound asleep by the time we were in the air. Which allowed me and my wife to slip off to the small bedroom inside the private plane. A wedding gift from Sesshomaru, allowing us to use his. It was a bad look, the DA using a known mobster's plane but I would regret it later. Now I was busy being balls deep in Kagome, pressing a hand to her mouth to muffle her so she didn't wake the kids.
She was so fucking wet, I struggled to contain myself, nearly coming as soon as my tip hit her womb. We weren't naked in case one of the kids woke up but we were on the bed, allowing me to hold her tight to me. Moroha and Sota had their own room at the hotel so once Haori was asleep, I would pound our naked flesh together hard every night on this honeymoon/vacation. That allowed me to be okay with the clothes between us now, her panties the only thing fully off our bodies while my shorts and briefs wrapped around my knees.
God bless nursing bras, pulling her stretchy neckline down and unhooking the cup of her bra like a pro. I had to move the pad she had pressed to her nipple for leaks but I didn't care, this was far from the first time we fucked hard enough to make her milk-filled breasts leak a little.
Careful not to suck, I got as much of her mound in my mouth and licked, tasting a little of her milk. Extra sensitive, she threw her head back but must have bitten her lip to keep from crying out like she normally would.
Her hands were around my head, digging into the short strands I now rocked, and trying to tug. Two years and she still hadn't gotten used to my shorter hairstyle. I was pretty sure it was her way of telling me to grow it back out.
Didn't stop either of us from coming. Fast and hard, it had been a week, she moaned out my name as quietly as possible. I watched for a moment as her eyes rolled back and her mouth parted wide before I lost myself and my load.
Panting, we held each other tight, knowing we would have to get our asses back out front in a minute. Kagome took less than that, pulling from my hold and picking her panties off the floor. "How… many children do you want?"
The question threw me. It wasn't the first time we had this conversation but I had a habit of keeping my answers vague. "Shit, I don't know. A bit early for that isn't it? We haven't even gotten to the honeymoon yet…"
"I'm serious. Because you keep coming inside me with no protection between us…"
"I didn't think it bothered you. You said you would tell me if it did…"
"I'm just getting a little tired of getting knocked up all the time. I feel like a baby factory!"
The moment of euphoria, finally having sex, was over so I pulled my pants back up and got off my ass. "Alright, fine. I'll start pulling out until you go on birth control.."
"Why do I have to go on birth control? Why don't you use condoms?"
"Seriously?"
"What?"
"Condoms suck! You can't feel shit!"
Her arms crossed over her chest. For some reason, she was now in a pissed off mood. "I wouldn't know. We've never used them!"
Well, shit I walked right into that one. "I'm going to need a drink if we're going to continue this conversation," I said, rubbing my temples as I passed.
She grabbed me before I got far, remorse on her face. "I'm sorry. A few hours in and we're already fighting."
"We're far more than a few hours in, Baby." She kissed my cheek and then walked before me. I followed her, forever her lap puppy. "If you want me to wear a condom, I will…"
"There's no point now."
"I meant next time…"
"No, I mean… I'm pregnant."
Shock didn't even cover it. I was lucky my ass landed in a chair instead of the floor. "I'm never going to be able to retire." Her mouth twisted into a frown and I hopped up to grab her hard. "I'm kidding! How far along are you? Two months? I'm surprised you lasted a week, it's far more impressive now…"
"I took the test yesterday." A smile, I was unable to contain, slowly broke out on my face. "You said you wanted to know. But I honestly didn't think we would have any more. Not this soon, I'm still weaning Haori off!"
She was flustered, spiraling quickly and I had to hold her up from the floor. "Baby, it's fine. So we're having another kid, more to love."
"I don't think I want more to love."
"Don't say that you're just in shock."
She shook all over and I had to tighten my hold again. "Three is already a lot. Four sounds like… death. Death of my body, our time, rest, and our sex life."
"Hey hey hey, our sex life will survive everything. I'm sure of that. You being pregnant again proves it."
"I just kinda thought… we'd take some time. Be a married couple. But that was a ridiculous thought anyway, we're not a normal married couple."
I got her into a seat just as we hit some turbulence. Her nails dug into my skin, reminding me that this was also her first time in an airplane. Once our world stopped shaking, her head flopped to the side, looking at me. I did the same.
"You know that... no matter what happens, I got you Kagome Tenoe?"
A tired smile stretched on her mouth, closing her eyes. I took in her beautiful, slumbering face for the thousandth time, knowing I would never tire of it or find it any less stunning. "I know. You always have my back. Always."
"Always."
The End
Sorry if I had you worried there! I kinda like doing that, messing with my readers lol. Happy ending though! In more than one way!
Thanks again @inukag-week! This was the best week writing challenge I’ve been apart of.

Earthshine
Defined as the light of the sun that is reflected back into space by the Earth, and which can illuminate other objects such as the Moon.
...
So I am not a writer and I have no clue what entity possessed me last night, but I began to write my first ever fanfiction? Who knows?? I’m just going with it. I’ll maybe continue to write small chapters, but really I have no clue and I’m just riding this weird-ass wave as far as it’ll take me.
Sesskag, for reasons. Not to be taken seriously at any point.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧
She could do this. She was an independent, modern woman armed with the tenacity of a bone saw and a stubborn streak so long you could tie a cargo ship to harbor three times over. Just because she’d never done this before did not mean she could not do it. She would just have to rely on her many…charms to work in her favor.
…what were those again?
With an undignified harrumph, Kagome made a mental list. She was at least pretty. See, everyone was always saying how much she looked like Kikyo, and Kikyo was incredibly beautiful, so by that logic she should at least be in the passably attractive camp.
One point.
Secondly, she was adaptable. Being in uncomfortable situations was something she knew well, even thrived in. How many times had she been thrust into an unpredictable scenario only to come out on top in the end? Armed with only her wits, a few lucky shots, and hardy denial of her own embarrassment to aid her?
And luck! Definitely a third point. She was lucky. She may not be the most skilled archer, but she could hit the mark when it counted! Her powers, woefully untrained, would burst out of her when she needed them most. She’d meet just the right people at exactly the right time when their group was stuck on their quest, leading them to their next clue.
She also wasn’t dead yet, and by every metric she could come up with, the odds declared that she should be.
Fourthly. She was a powerful (though undisciplined) time traveling miko who helped save the world. That had to count for something.
She, Kagome Higurashi, was going to use everything she could draw upon to engage in a full out war. Not one of bloodshed and territories, but one of sensuality and power. A war of seduction.
Seduction. It sounded so…adult. And she was an adult, more-so in this era than in her own. Here, she could even be considered an old maid, though hopefully most people would think she looked mature instead of matronly.
After returning to the Sengoku Jidai, following the three year break when the well stopped working, Kagome had leapt to the past hoping to rekindle a romance with the dog-eared crush of her youth. But the rose colored goggles that her 15-year-old self viewed the world through were gone. The stakes of their quest and the drama surrounding their mission, had painted the young hanyou in a heroic, dreamy light. She remembered him as the dashing, triumphant man she believed to be everything she could ever want.
But then she grew up.
And when she saw him again, she really saw him. Without the girlish filter of infatuation she viewed him through in the past. Instead, Inuyasha was…flawed. How everyone was flawed, but also in ways Kagome found entirely unacceptable and really, really unsexy.
And he wasn’t really any different from how he was before, but now she noticed things.
Like how he would scratch himself in public. Or yell whatever came into that head of his, no matter how inappropriate it was. He was still a dreadful communicator, and didn’t seem to exhibit a lot of drive to better his interpersonal skills.
And he was pissy.
Kagome felt a lot of secondhand embarrassment when she was around Inuyasha these days, not because she was ashamed he was a half demon or anything like that, simply because he was totally and dreadfully immature.
This was not a partner she’d be able to grow with. Not someone who would challenge her in the ways she needed, because she knew she was pig-headed, and if she didn’t respect her partner there was no way he’d be able to sway her mind or get her to compromise. Plus, Inuyasha’s grooming habits and body language left her slightly repulsed by the idea of kissing him, let alone having sex with him.
He was still a wonderful friend. One who’d shared countless hardships with her. One who’d supported her to the best of his abilities. But he wasn’t her romantic fixation any longer.
Two years had gone by since she’d come to that realization. She now split her time between her two eras, setting up a small home near the well for easy transport. She was 20 years old, a shrine maiden in the modern era, and a miko in the past who taught children and cured the sick with her “magical remedies.” She didn’t travel around the country much anymore, promising her mother she’d settle down and live a safe life.
That apparently meant she would live a painfully single life as well.
With a sigh she continued to weed the small patch of herbs by her home. She kept half an eye on a few of the village children who were playing nearby, making sure they hadn’t killed each other with sticks yet. Rin was amongst the youths, giving as good as she got.
The problem was there weren’t exactly droves of new potential romantic interests swarming shrines for the chance of scooping up a future bride. Most men in her era were boring and would consider her time travel stories enough to diagnose clinical insanity. Also she really only new a handful of men in the feud era. Miroku was happily married to Sango, with three lovely children. Inuyasha was never going to happen. Koga was handsome but needed a major attitude adjustment PLUS he had Ayame. Shippo was her baby. And she couldn’t help but feel like she’d be settling if she wound up with one of the local village men. And Kagome was tired of settling.
Kagome wanted more.
And maybe that was selfish. But she thought she deserved to be a little selfish after all the shit the universe had pulled on her.
She wanted someone mature, exciting. Someone who could show her something new. Someone with a brain. Someone who was a challenge. Someone who would make sure she didn’t remain a virgin for her entire life.
As she swept the sweat from her brow, a truth settled in her heart. She wouldn’t dally with boys any longer. She would find herself a man and she would take him.
“Miko.” A baritone voice addressed her. “I trust my ward has been kept safe in your care.”
Well, maybe not a ‘man’ per se.
“Hai, Sesshomaru-sama.” she replied with a half smile.
And with that she gazed up at the regal demon lord blocking her sun and set her course. Yes. Kagome wanted more.
So why not have the most.
