end of an era was by far one of the saddest chapters of mha. It shows the story of someone who was once the greatest man, reduced to trying desperately to consume at least two minutes of All For Ones time. because with all of that fame, all of that glory, that little quirkless boy who wanted to become a pillar was still there. And that was enough <3

if you think about it, he did waste enough time to save everyone. So, All Might is still the greatest hero, in one way or another

something ive noticed about the mha fandom is theres two different sides to how they characterize all might; either the worst guy alive and a horrible teacher or a super genius that is amazing in all aspects, when neither are true?

i see where they get it from, but man does the fandom have a major issue with turning complex characters into having only one personality trait. all might's a great hero, obviously, he's very smart, creative, and incredibly selfless. but he doesn't understand teenagers at all so he isn't the best teacher.

even in the first episode the whole reason he told izuku he couldnt be a hero was because he forgot what it was like in his shoes! and we see this over and over throughout the series. he tends to treat the kids like they already know a lot about being heroes, even in their very first heroics class. he even explicitly states later in the series "sometimes i forget you guys are just kids." how do people keep overlooking that it is the most obvious part of his character!

then on the flip side (which i see a lot more than all might glamorization actually, why do people hate him so much) you have people acting like he's the worst guy ever, only using izuku as a vessel for one for all and having no empathy for any other character. just because he isn't great with teens doesn't mean that he's evil?

he's a very human character and a lot of people forget that he isn't all flaws or all awesome. rant over i just had to complain about his mischaracterization.

In defense of some of those fics that have All Might be heavily against Quirkless Vigilantism - they were typically written before the chapter revealing Toshinori, still Quirkless, beating up people with a metal pipe, and the same goes for those who are Anime-Only because these fics were long before that episode would have aired.

But now that we have all of this information, any new fics that try to perpetuate this blatantly false piece of Fanon Garbage then they can't use Canon as an excuse because Canon has debunked that at this point.

also COMPLETELY unrelated but when people talk abt stuff like quirkless vigilante izuku and whether toshi would be for or against it (generally they paint him as against it because it's usually an all might bashing dadzawa fic COUGHS who said that) i feel like people miss the obvious

girl he WAS that quirkless vigilante. anything he'd say about that would come from a place of having tried to BE that quirkless vigilante at FOURTEEN YEARS OLD. not get into ua. not get mentored. toshi's goal was to STOP CRIME with a LEAD PIPE and NO QUIRK

don't ever tell me that he'd be a big meanie who hates the quirkless and the idea of quirkless heroes/vigilantes ever again. get the fuck out of my house. if he's saying something against it thats because he doesn't want anyone else to get hurt!!! he had to get bailed out by nana!!! like!!! use your fucking brain im begging

I think the scariest part about Batman is the loyalty he inspires. Like this motherfucker has an army of children who might at any given time hate his guts, but are still 100% willing to throw hands for him if Bruce needs them to. And then there’s the Justice League, who also at any given time might hate his guts or find him insanely irritating and/or weird, but will also fall in line and listen to his plans if the need arises. And that’s like the most intense form of power someone can wield—voluntary obedience from people physically more capable than them.
