as promised, part 2 with some mercedes drives (by all means not an exhaustive list, but at the very least i hope, a worthy one); lewis’ mclazza drives collection for those interested: here

fav lil’ guy finally free from the clutches of ron dennis and mclaren, handed some rocketships, reunited with blond guy named nico and entering his domination era; live laugh love achieving zen era comes much later; this is lewis hamilton who is ready to fight god and anyone who stands in his way; there’s a ruthlessness to him and his driving, which he will use and he will use it well, he’s talented and good, you watch lewis in a car that can perform and it’s just such a pleasure to witness what he is capable of doing; he is a racer, first and foremost, and he is obsessed with winning, i mean obsessed, the way he celebrates every single win like it’s his very first; he loves and bleeds this sport, even if it can be incredibly cruel to him (and still is, to this day). and btw still the king of the fucking circus, don’t you forget it. chasing your own destiny and creating a myth out of your legacy, you know when david bowie said i always had a repulsive need to be something more than human… yeah lewis who’s afraid of not doing enough, of not being enough, he cannot remain human, he must be something more, he needs to be the best and he wants it more, and you know for a man who has ‘divine love’ tattooed on his hand, what does a narrative mean? for someone who believes that what he does is an art form and who describes racing as a spiritual experience, one must presume there is some form of divinity he believes he can obtain,,,anyway 🙃, allons-y: 

hungary 2014 🇭🇺 aka the usual hamilton hungarian cook sesh’ (he’s a bit insane around this track ngl)

arguably his most underrated non-win drive; pitlane start to p3 and features radio gold such as ✨i’m not slowing down for nico ✨💅 iconique if you ask me; the racing gods decided to plague him with brake issues and a hot seat burning his ass on top of his car already catching on fire during quali (give this guy a break lmao); everything was against him, and he still got a podium. also his overtakes during this race...and specifically THAT overtake on jev *chefs kiss*. i also endorse his criminal behaviour and his last-lap shenanigans with nico as well. 10/10 no notes.

silverstone 2015 🇬🇧 aka cloud watching pays off

lewis at silverstone. yeah. but add a bit of spice in the form of english weather™️. instincts of a man from stevenage and one prescient decision to pit for inters at just the right time before the heavens opened and you get a win by 11 seconds ahead of the next guy and a whole field of cars scrambling in the wet. luck or genius? they asked. 'i can see the clouds over stowe'. he saw the clouds and nico approaching, pulled the trigger on lap 43 and won the race, so you tell me. also features some celebratory donuts (he was so happy after the race, silverstone means a lot to him and you can really tell) and bono soaking wet on the podium 😁

brazil 2016 🇧🇷 aka the interlagos saga continues

whatever max verstappen was doing to nico rosberg in this race is one thing (objectively hilarious), but lewis hamilton, you see he won that race; babes after the race said he was watching the screens around the track while driving in the brazilian downpour, unbothered, incredibly moisturised, happy, very much in his lane, focused and flourishing; and as mentioned in lewis’ underrated mclaren drives post, lewis at interlagos is special, the lore, the myth of it all runs deep, and this is the first time he’s won! in the pouring rain, while trailing in a championship he will eventually lose, he’s finally achieved a dream he’s had: winning in brazil; the red flag period also features baby sharl nervously glancing at lewis in the haas garage (who’d have thought they’d trauma bond over a dsq in austin 7 years later…)

abu dhabi 2016 🇦🇪aka anarchy

yes, i included this race because i stand with my cancelled wife; they were calling for his ass to be fired after the race, paddy lowe was screaming in his ear to speed the hell up, blasphemy, heresy, how dare he disobey his team, how dare he want to win the championship! anyway, like yeah ofc it wasn’t entirely respectful, but it’s racing at the end of the day; a driver will prioritise himself, and lil’ war criminal lewis, i adore you very much (he had horner defending him lmfao while torger was sending him to red bull); the shitstorm in the media afterwards, goodness gracious tho; no wonder lewis and toto needed a sit-down in toto’s kitchen lol; but it’s such a beautifully well-managed race; of course he could go faster, of course he knew exactly what he was doing slowing down and speeding up in just the right places…all in one desperate but masterful attempt at winning the championship; in the end, it wasn’t in his hands, but it is still a great race to watch purely for the mind fuckery and mercedes being absolutely pissed. also, it’s very much an end of an era.

monza 2018 🇮🇹 aka one man and his machine against a nation of ~60 million people

maybe 'underrated' is the wrong word to use for this one in all honesty, people give his ‘18 post-summer break run its due honours, because this is lewis destroying the hopes and dreams of the tifosi, sebastian vettel and the ferrari establishment with maurizio arrivabene at the helm race by race, lap by lap; it’s lewis at arguably, his strongest yet, he danced in that w09, those magnificent quali laps, those races that he dominated from start to finish...but monza, oh monza, maybe there’s something so poetic about that race and starting the run of domination in ferrari land; it’s got lewis vs kimi!!! nostalgia merchants will absolutely adore this one because it’s just like those ‘07 races, also brilliant strategy from merc and lewis and his incredible, jaw-dropping race pace driving like a man possessed 

hungary 2019 🇭🇺 aka the infamous one that inspired spain '21

when lewis arrives at the hungaroring, you know the man is about to cook something worthy of a michelin star. add a two-stop strategy masterclass from one james vowles and you get an absolute classic of a race and if you know what happened just a week earlier (the trials and tribulations of hockenheim), it also feels like redemption; two cars fighting for the win, lewis banging in quali lap after quali lap as he hunts down max; clinical, faultless, and brilliant and it’s such a satisfying race to rewatch (bonus: there’s also jv on the podium and lewis looking incredibly proud)

spain 2020 🇪🇸 aka the pure brilliance of lewis and the w11

jallison’s monster, w11. when she first appeared in fp1 on a friday morning in southeastern austria, best believe the first notes of the imperial march already sounded prophetically around the styrian alps. an icon, a legend, she was the moment and we miss her dearly. pair her with one lewis hamilton, a man on a mission both on track and off it, and you will produce sexiness. purple helmet + black w11 legendary combo, the sheer cunt serving, the audacity, THE presence; i could mention any race from 2020 (notably, tuscany and portugal bc they fly under the radar as well in terms of lewis' performances) but i will add spain to this list, mostly because of what lewis said post-race about what he experienced during the race and why it epitomises the brillance of him as a driver: "i was just in a daze out there", "i was in a different zone then, didn't know it was the last lap" ; you don't reach perfection, but you chase it (as he also mentioned in the press-co), but there's something quite sublime in seeing him deliver such a performance, when he himself is left well, stunned; this is the race that could be lewis hamilton's 90 minute masterclass on tyre management.

well i was very late to do this since i forgot lol

Red Bull : well what the hell guys you did it again. props to checo for absolutely killing it in quali and not being ten minutes off his teammate which is what everyone else is doing. absolute 10/10 for max verstappen for winning probably the first of 20 races this season in a row.

Ferrari: kind of exactly where i expected. carlos crushed it, amazing job from him although not as good as his previous result in australia, what do you expect from a man without an appendix and a job- podium every time he’s raced. Bad quali from charles although he very much made it up in the race very well deserved driver of the day great finish from both nothing better to be done really.

Mercedes: guys please come on you can do better than this. george had a terrible quali then came back and did probably some of the best racing on the track and i’m not even glazing it especially with that battle with piastri. hamilton shockingly out qualifying george which was a little bit sad cause i thought george could do a sweep of the season tbh but good race overall i suppose. not amazing finish but come on you’re in like the 5th best car what do you expect.

Mclaren: solid. not much to say. piastri not his best race, suzuka doesn’t seem to be a good track for him so i expected it. norris pretty solid finish amazing qualifying deserves tons of credit for that. couldn’t hang onto third but hey it’s a mclaren not a red bull.

Aston: Fernando i love you so much you are an amazing king who may or may not be the greatest to ever touch the sport i hope the Taylor Swift dating rumours are true because you deserve that much credit. Lance Stroll i think is scum of the earth who is somehow fighting in formula b even though he’s in like the 4/5th best car on track. absolutely unacceptable to lose positions to tsunoda and hulkenberg in that car.

Minardi: idk what Ricciardo has been doing lately but i hope it’s just one realllyyy long april fools prank because what is this. the crash was kinda his fault tbh. very very sad and i hoped he could turn it around since he got a very good quali result. Yuki tsunoda absolutely crushed it and gets my second 10/10 for his home race. overtakes were insane. so so happy to see you thriving and getting points.

Haas: kind of a quiet race. no points for either so not much to say, both drives are 6/10s for me.

Williams: Absolutely terrible. Excited to see if they will even have a car by the end of the season from the progress they are making. Albon out immediately Sargeant not managing anything good. Hope they can turn this around soon because my fantasy team is suffering hard. Although sargeant very good turn around in the dirt have to compliment that.

Steak F1 Team: The amount of times this season i have been CONVINCED of the points possibilities only for them to be taken away by the kindergarten class that is their pit crew is insane. this really should not be tolerated at all. feel very bad for zhou as it was an unfair way to end.

Alpine: I mean there were some parts of the race where the cars didn’t even look like they were moving.

glad some people are actually taking this lewis' move to ferrari in serious perspective, because when the tifosi hype has died down in which way this situation favours both of them, (if like me you're a fan of both, and i've seen many being over the moon happy about it)

Both drivers deserve the priority treatment, Lewis because it's him, the man has not stop fighting ever since he stepped into a f1 car and Charles because he picked up all the pieces of this team and put them back together by himself. They're both great racers, Charles has no rival in quali and while his race craft has improved massively and it's great to me Lewis still has the edge there, but they're probably on a similar level, so you can't base who's your main focus. So what Ferrari should do in a situation where the car is a good one and both drivers have a good feel for it; it's stupid asking to lean one or the other way without hurting the other guy, who (as a fan) wants this truly? I'd pay good money for them having a go at eachothers (in diff teams because you'll get a real fight, a fair one)

Also people speculating this is Lewis' path to retirement, and why should he make the move of the century of his own volition just to retire? Be serious. If he wanted to hang his helmet he would have stayed at merc, comfortable with his own people. A move to Ferrari is not like a move to any other team, this one comes with a lot of baggage and weight to it, it's not your last stop; the man wants a new chance to fight and he saw something in the scuderia. And why shouldn't Ferrari get that 8th with Lewis, biggest achievement in f1 history, why shouldn't them make Lewis their king?

Then you have Charles, the teams owes him a lot, he just signed a nobody knows how many years life contract with his dream team despite them fucking up on every side, he stays and against all odds grew up to be one hell of a driver, highly regarded by everyone in the paddock. He got one taste at a championship winning car and he was running circle around everyone, than Ferrari took it away. We got rid of Binotto, we got rid of the real spanish plague, we said this one is our guy. Ferrari should give this boy a car!

So tell me who in their right mind see this as a good situation in 2025, if you like both it's a lose lose one, but even from an external eye tbh, that's a ticking bomb

You're right, it's tough. Obviously the hype is in its zenith right now, this is a huge move, everyone's discussing it and picking it apart, etc. But ah, I just. Putting two guys together who have proven to be very hungry and who very obviously gave their own goals and ambitions is...playing with fire. It could be great, it could be the best thing Ferrari's ever seen. But also, this is why when all those discussions of "oh I'd love to see [peak] Seb paired with Lewis at Mercedes/Ferrari" or "put Max and Lewis into one team so we can 'settle' this once and for all" sprung up, the conclusion was generally that they're great where they are, putting them together will be potentially disastrous.

If Lewis left Mercedes, a team he's been with for 11 years (!!!!!) for Ferrari in this way (strange atmosphere, must've been dissatisfied/unfulfilled in some way, rumours of a falling out) then clearly he must've seen something enticing in Ferrari. I have to say I think this is his last hurrah, the last team he will compete with in his F1 career, which is why it's this team of all teams. But even though his career is likely coming to a close, you can't discredit him, you can't just assume he'll be happy for the team to maybe potentially win a WCC in his time. Lewis winning an eight with Ferrari would be seismic and I think they both realize that. If Ferrari truly has championship potential in the near future, no way he's not going to go for it. Even the fan/journalist response... it's all about The Eighth In Red now, that's all people want to see. But equally, this is everything Charles has worked towards his entire life, he's not going to give up on that without a fight either. And that has the potential to get really messy.

It's just so weird, every time you think "okay this is it, they're throwing their weight behind Charles 100% now" they do something that is just so ??????????????? Idk feels like no matter the outcome someone's not going to get what they want out of this. It's just, again, Charles has way more to lose in all of this. Lewis has had a very successful, well-rounded career, whether he achieves success with Ferrari or not. It's like the cherry on the cake, but the cake has seven layers already and I'm sure it tastes damn good. Objectively it's a very intriguing move—I just kind of wish it wasn't happening during Charles's prime time at the team, basically.

You knew how upsetting it was for Daniel, Monaco was either extremely forgiven or it absolutely hated you and this year, it seemed to have it out for Daniel. Dear Mr. Mark Webber- Max Verstappen Doesn’t Have To Be Lewis Hamilton!

Does Max Verstappen have to be Lewis Hamilton? What a random statement, right? The way it seems, Mark Webber is popular as Aussie Grit. It’s a sobriquet he earned, never asked for. When the famous driver from Queanbeyan was an active FORMULA 1 driver, there was one thing that did set him apart from the rest, not to mention, that ability to focus on the race and just race alone.

He’d talk less and perform more on the grid. But, hey wait! Did that make Mark Webber a world champion?

Hardly.

Despite competing in the highest annals of Motor Racing for over a decade driving for no fewer than six consecutive seasons with Red Bull, the former FORMULA 1 driver didn’t exactly come agonisingly close- or did he- to a world title.

Well, unless one’s determined to count his 242 points (with Red Bull) in 2011 to that seaon’s world champion Vettel’s 256 (also with Red Bull) an incredibly close margin- but would you?

Yet, Webber- nine wins, make no mistake- has made a headline recently, one that seems to offer a glimpse at what becomes of former FORMULA 1 drivers when they are either too idle or not in the tune with reality.

Has Mark Webber caused me harm. Heck, no! He surely has better things to do in life such as exchanging pleasantries with the Australian Men’s cricket team’s coach Justin Langer about Martial Arts.

Both Aussies, it’s common knowledge, are gifted in the same incredible art where Jean Claude Van Damme has made some very retired movies (with all due respect to the great Muscles from Brussels).

But Mr. Webber when you say that a Max Verstappen and I quote you here, “Is he (Verstappen) already Lewis on Sunday? No, he is not,” what do you even mean?

This precisely leads me to a question whose time has come, if only after 250 words:

Does Max Verstappen have to be Lewis Hamilton?

If so, what’s Lewis Hamilton doing then? Imagine what good grief might two Lewis Hamilton’s cause the very grid where tackling one is hard enough? In 2020 alone, Hamilton won ten races.

Surely, you didn’t mean Max to become Lewis, but obviously, right? On the contrary, you were actually alluding to the lack of consistency shown by Max Verstappen- the youngest pole-sitter aged 17 years, 166 days- when compared to Lewis Hamilton.

Fair enough.

But ever wondered about that thing called race-craft, sir? Does that not carry the DNA of one’s psyche or that thing called mental make-up?

Truth be told, the moment I’d say “we are all different and hence our different levels of performances,” you’d either go off to sleep or slap me. Wait actually, you’d reserve that for ‘Ubermensch’ Seb (Malaysia, 2013).

Such a cliche!

But it doesn’t require one Einstein-esque grey matter to note that no FORMULA 1 driver is the same. On race day, things happen. It’s a combination of various factors- but obviously- one of which is the way a driver competes, rather to put it succinctly, “attacks!”

Your suggestion that Max Verstappen is not on the same level as Lewis Hamilton, a seven time world champion, a driver twelve years his senior isn’t bigoted but is incredibly lame.

For starters, Lewis Hamilton has no match.

The only one who came close to Lewis Hamilton is the driver whom record Stevenage’s great son recently drew level with. In Germany, they consider him Das Beste or the best, everywhere else, he’s still considered the King!

Purely on race entries, Hamilton’s beaten more drivers than Max Verstappen has probably competed online with. And trust me, I have no idea whether Lando’s done more E racing or Charles.

Truth still is, the comparison that you ended up making- albeit only when asked- reads:

Lewis Hamilton: 266 race entries, 95 wins, 98 poles, 165 podiums, Seven World Titles

Max Verstappen: 119 entries, 10 wins, 42 podiums, 0 world titles.

The above includes nothing on these driver’s personalities, that important arsenal that ultimately plays a key role in winning and losing races.

Should you wish this Motorsport fan recount it for you, this remember is someone who’s been as many times inside an F1 car as you’ve won world titles, I’d love to draw your attention to:

Hamilton– focused, aggressive but doesn’t lose his sh*t, mighty consistent, ability to mentally seize up the opponent (we’ve seen Rosberg, we are seeing how hard it is for Valtteri), aware of the advantages of the car and what his own experience brings.

Verstappen– resilient, rabid, super aggressive, consistent in quali (by your admission), aware of his talent and the fact that the machinery he’s been aligned with isn’t the same level as Mercedes.

That said, fair to remember when Lewis Hamilton entered the sport, Max Verstappen was ten.

Today, thirteen years since Lewis first unfurled ‘Hammertime’ by winning the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix, he’s found a competitor, who is, at least, trying to muster up a fight. Did Verstappen not win the final race of the year from pole, in the process of which he led every single lap?

And make no mistake Mr. Webber, this is what a certain Charles Leclerc was doing too in 2019: competing and pushing Lewis.

Fact is, if you got to beat Lewis Hamilton in his own game- and heck, he’s nearly owned FORMULA 1 by demonstrating mesmeric consistency- you’ll need not just the car but the experience and not to mention, the mind-set.

And that’s the key differentiator for me.

We are all hardwired differently which is why we respond to challenges differently.

Hamilton is spurred by the innate desire to improve and get better each time he gets inside that car. It’s not that he’s not faced heat or been found wanting. But see how he reacts even when the odds go against his favour.

The 70th Anniversary Grand Prix- won by Verstappen eventually- saw Hamilton winning on three wheels. Did you see that?

That’s all it takes- not losing your composure and finding that positivity somehow. And speaking of not losing one’s cool, there’s also a certain Kimi Matias Raikkonen who kept his whilst many beside him were losing theirs at the Abu Dhabi GP 2012. You were in that race right sir?

Now Max Verstappen, on the other hand, responds differently to situations. In a seemingly Senna-esque fashion: be bold, brave and go for the chance if it’s there- Max takes his chance.

Call it age, call it irrational exuberance, but Max won’t relent. Just like he didn’t at the Turkish GP knowing well that pushing extra hard on getting past Bottas would compromise his tyres and see the outcome?

As a matter of fact, did Charles- vastly respected already- not push a bit too aggressively at Monza 2019? Who are the black and white flags waved for back when a young man beat Hamilton in his own game?

Max Verstappen or Charles Leclerc?

So my problem with drivers like you sir and no you haven’t borrowed a dime from me, in fact, I keenly await my salary for the month is this:

Why is Max Verstappen being compared to Hamilton when there’s little need?

Surely Albon’s priceless podiums in 2020 were brilliant news for a team that put its faith in a driver who isn’t considered all too great at the moment. But, who kept Red Bull in the fight?

Incidentally, who beat Valtteri Bottas driving a Red Bull when the Finn, usually hired to win, as they say (not that Raikkonen would care) was in a Mercedes?

We know how this has panned out in the past too whenever the subject of being in the same league as Lewis has arrived.

Nico- Brittany to some, world champion to many others- was the last guy to defeat the incredible Briton. But which other FORMULA 1 loose wheel nut has managed to keep his sanity in check ever since Nico packed his bags and left?

If Max is not on the same level as Hamilton- then so is every other driver who has the capability and perhaps competent machinery, if not the greatest package designed ever to overcome a Mercedes.

This year alone, there were more cars that nearly matched the RB 16- Racing Point’s RP 20 (second-hand Mercedes, shall we?), the MCL 35, and the RS 20 (or shall one say, the cause of Cyril Abiteboul’s possible upcoming tattoo)- than there are wins in your entire career.

That you don’t get it probably explains why you are making strange headlines nowadays unlike the fine stint with the FIA World Endurance Championship.

RECENSIONI 4IN1: Slipknot, Lingua Ignota, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Chelsea Wolfe

In questa istallazione di Recensioni 4in1 parliamo in breve di quattro dischi, tutti accomunati da un’impronta metal più o meno evidente, usciti quest’anno. Innanzitutto diamo uno sguardo al ritorno degli Slipknot, una delle band cardine del metal dei primi anni duemila, poi diamo spazio all’interessantissimo terzo disco di Lingua Ignota che opera con le derivazioni sperimentali, procediamo col nuovo dei King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard che scelgono il trash metal per la loro ennesima singolare avventura sonora e concludiamo col post-metal della gotica Chelsea Wolfe.

Slipknot - We Are Not Your Kind (Roadrunner Records, 2019)

I ritorni per le band storiche sono sempre difficili e molto spesso raccontano di esiti non proprio felici. E’ il caso degli Slipknot ed il loro sesto album, We Are Not Your Kind, che arriva a distanza di cinque anni dall’altrettanto sfortunato predecessore The Grey Chapter, ma poteva anche andare peggio. 

Sono passati ormai vent’anni dalla formazione della band mascherata capitanata da Corey Taylor che - gusti musicali a parte - ha il merito di aver scolpito a sua immagine e somiglianza la scena metal. Durante queste due decadi ne sono successe di tutti i colori e tra controversie legali, cambi di formazione poco pacifici e lutti sembra che ogni album degli Slipknot debba segnare una fase: questa è quella successiva all’espulsione del bassista Chris Fehn e del ritorno ad una forma che li riporta indietro a quel periodo in cui la fiamma nu-metal bruciava ardentemente nella loro musica. Il disco si apre promettente con l’infestato intro quasi post-rock Insert Coin ed il successivo singolo di punta Unsainted che sguinzaglia pesanti riff di chitarra, batteria e scream tipici dei pezzi più infuriati della band, trovando un equilibrio tra il metal più rovente e la grandiosità degli inni alt-rock grazie ad un ritornello sicuramente più morbido. Birth Of The Cruel prova a nutrirsi della tensione derivata da tonfi insistenti di batteria e graffi felini di chitarra che hanno un qualcosa di industriale - non sarà l’unica volta in cui capita - ma alla fine questa implacabile urgenza di riff e percussioni appariscenti non comunica nulla. Sarà sicuramente una questione di preferenze personali, ma considerando che oggettivamente negli ultimi anni non si è visto nessun sostanziale progresso all’interno loro musica, possiamo dire che l’olio che da un pò muove gli ingranaggi della band è ormai esausto. 

Durante le inutilmente tentacolari quattordici tracce tornano alle vecchie formule insistendo con le fallimentari Red Flag ed Orphan, oppure fendono con largo insuccesso le tende della sperimentazione come con Liar’s Funeral e Critical Darling che diluisce delle buone idee in due minuti di troppo. Il momento più infelice è tuttavia la ridicola Spiders che contiene uno degli assoli più sfortunati degli ultimi tempi. In conclusione, We Are Not Your Kind non è abbastanza incisivo da sorprendere i van di vecchia data e non è abbastanza moderno per accalappiare nuovi ascoltatori. Nuovi costumi, stessi Slipknot.

Lingua Ignota - CALIGULA (Profound Lore Records, 2019)

Lingua Ignota è il progetto della compositrice, polistrumentista e cantante Kristin Hayter che da un paio di anni opera nelle derive più sperimentali e pesanti del metal come la darkwave neoclassica - un sottogenere che interpola la new wave per trasformarla in contesti più cupi e gotici con drammatiche pennellate di musica classica - ed il death metal, calandoli in uno stampo fortemente noise con l’aggiunzione di sonorità industriali. CALIGULA è un disco intransigente che incute terrore ed angoscia. A livello di stile rimane piuttosto peculiare, ma volendo sembra collocabile tra “l’inorganico disarmonico” di Pharmakon per l’utilizzo estremo di chitarre portate all’esasperazione fino a renderle abrasioni metalliche incomprensibili, synth oppressivi e suoni meccanici esterni che contribuiscono al caos generale dell’ambientazione ed Anna von Hausswolff per la grandiosa teatralità sonora e testuale, sebbene qui l’universo spirituale è molto più tormentato e corporeo, collassato tra urla ed imprecazioni che scoppiano anche nei momenti in cui, tra vocalizzi lirici, sprazzi di organo e pianoforte, Hayter sembra essere stata definitivamente trafitta. 

Le sue performance vocali sono folli ed infernali, immolandosi in diverse sfaccettature che per esempio in FRAGRANT IS MY MANY FLOWER’D CROWN offrono delle armonizzazioni gutturali. Ci sono momenti in cui basterebbe un riff di chitarra in più per trasformare le tracce in caustiche e brutali canzoni death metal, tuttavia, bisogna notare che questo non è un album metal, perché mancano le caratteristiche per definirlo tale, nonostante ciò è una delle esperienze più metal degli ultimi anni. La monumentale DO YOU DOUBT ME TRAITOR dura quasi dieci minuti e sfrutta molto bene gli spazi, iniziando mesta e silenziosa, quasi come un canto medievale eseguito per risvegliare una bestia, per poi scontrarsi andando in pezzi su un muro di suoni terrificanti. Prima la voce di Hayter è bassa, vicina ed androgina, dopo sale di tono su degli archi che costruiscono una tensione oscura palpabile ed è questione di poco prima che riversi tutta la sua linfa vitale urlando spaventosamente: “How do I break you / Before you break me?”. MAY FAILURE BE YOUR NOOSE presenta un contrasto interessante tra un pianoforte regale ed uno dei testi più disturbanti e morbosi: “May failure be a garment to wrap 'round you / May failure be a belt with which to gird you / May failure be a noose with which to hang you”. 

Hayter è una specie di animale ferito ed insanguinato che vuole attaccare prima di essere attaccato, la sua è una lucida e consapevole discesa nel caos, dentro un sacro che diventa profano e viceversa, una liturgia contaminata da scorie apocalittiche impossibili da smaltire. Scorrendo in profondità nei testi sembra che quest’album stia lamentando la perdita di un’amore, una tematica certamente non nuova in musica, ma qui assume proporzioni bibliche, strabordante di immagini religiose molto profonde tanto quanto lo è la sofferenza come risultato di questa relazione tossica presumibilmente violenta. Conclusione con I AM THE BEAST, un titolo che penetra nell’essenza più sincera di questo progetto, toccando le corde più intime dell’artista: “Beast he named me, beast I am / I am grief / Come claim me / All I want is boundless love, all I know is violence”.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - INFEST THE RATS’ NEST (Flightless Records, 2019)

Gli australiani King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard sono sempre stati difficili da inquadrare, la definizione perfetta di una voce fuori dal coro. Se c’è una regola implicita che dice che un artista deve prendersi almeno un paio di anni prima di pubblicare un disco, loro ne pubblicano quattordici in sette anni, se qualcuno dice che l’identità musicale va costruita muovendosi con costanza tra generi e sonorità affini, loro fanno dell’imprevedibilità e dell’assenza di un genere in cui poterli identificare la loro definizione principale, lanciandosi in tutte le derive rock dal progressive, psichedelico, acid, garage, blues fino al jazz a distanza di pochi mesi. Sono una di quelle rare band veramente spinte da una frenetica ed inarrestabile urgenza di sperimentazione che riesce sempre a raggiungere ottimi risultati. INFEST THE RATS’ NEST è la loro interpretazione più completa del metal, un ruggito rabbioso proferito non solo come l’ennesimo costume da indossare, ma che intende far sentire le sue ragioni in un mondo dove anche la notizia più scioccante incontra l’indifferenza.

Come con l’album precedente le proteste del singolare leader Stu Mackenzie continuano sul filone ecologico e climatico, presentando una visione apocalittica della modernità in cui l’abbandono della Terra per colonizzare nuovi pianeti sembra un fenomeno molto meno fantascientifico. Un futuro più tragico di quello che possiamo immaginare, dove la morsa del capitalismo è ancora più fatale e solo chi può permetterselo ha la possibilità di emigrare altrove, come raccontato nella cupa Mars For The Rich che musicalmente mima gli sbuffi ingombranti e disillusi dei Motörhead, in cui doppie e spesse chitarre rombano insieme ad un basso prorompente ed esuberante e c’è spazio per assoli ghiacciati, impastati nella distorsione della psichedelia e nel blues. Mackenzie ha un carisma fenomenale ed ancora una volta colpisce per la sua versatilità, canta con tutto sé stesso, urla e ringhia con il magnetismo dei leader dei Metallica, Judas Priest e Black Sabbath. In Superbug il ritmo è rallentato solo per imprimere ancora di più i colpi martellanti delle chitarre ed il veleno della voce, insieme ad una batteria che va di certo lodata per la precisione. Il trash metal fa da padrone nelle due Venusian, tutte vibrazione impazzita di chitarre che gridano acute o affondano gravi. Non sono da meno l’apertura Planet B e la chiusura Hell, nelle quali i riff alla Iron Maiden spezzano letteralmente le ossa.

Il concept presentato in INFEST THE RATS’ NEST ha un impatto forte, la storia è avvincente e talvolta angosciante. La band non intende zuccherare nulla - musicalmente e tematicamente - rendendolo il loro album più attuale e politico, probabilmente anche quello musicalmente più impressionante, di sicuro si posiziona molto in alto all’interno di una discografia rispettabile.

Chelsea Wolfe - Birth Of Violence (Sargent House, 2019)

Il disco più distante dall’intenzione del metal è sicuramente il maturo Birth Of Violence, il sesto di Chelsea Wolfe, un’artista che durante la sua carriera ha saputo avvicinarsi a questo genere, ma lo ha spesso superato mutandone gli elementi compositivi e scegliendo le sfumature stilistiche industriali o gotiche, mettendo in contrasto la bellezza e la bruttezza, arrivando solo recentemente al doom metal. Una cosa è rimasta sempre costante: l’atmosfera. Quella di Wolfe è contemplativa, cupa e profondamente introspettiva sulle infelicità della vita, una grande nuvola nera solenne che aleggia su qualsiasi cosa, anche quando come in questo caso orbita verso l’aspetto folk della sua identità sonora.

Birth Of Violence è un’autostrada perduta in mezzo ad un bosco, il diario di viaggio di Wolfe dove sono annotati gli angoli più bui in cui è fuggita la sua mente durante la vita in strada. L’esperienza del tour può essere solitaria e disorientante, pericolosamente dannosa per gli artisti sensibili che alla fine di queste folli montagne russe reagiscono col bisogno ritrovare sé stessi e liberarsi attraverso canzoni che documentano quei sentimenti che emergono nell’oscurità e nel silenzio delle tre del mattino in una città della quale non ricordi neanche il nome. Wolfe ha scritto queste canzoni da sola con una chitarra acustica ed essenzialmente questo scheletro non è stato più di tanto imbandito. Ciò che innalza il disco sono i crescendo sottili, si gonfiano ed implodono all’apice delle canzoni piuttosto che esplodere con evidenti intenzioni. Generalmente i brani sono nudi, desolati e avvolti da un alone affascinante di mistero, ma soprattutto semplici nell’esecuzione. La chitarra acustica, come abbiamo detto, è predominante, ma l’efficacia della composizione si concretizza quando introduce arrangiamenti di strumenti a corde, bellissime ondate di synth che si aggiungono alle strumentali doloranti e i suoi evocativi pianti vocali che completano la recita di veri e propri incantesimi stregati. 

Il punto di forza di Birth Of Violence è il magnetismo della meditazione. Ogni canzone trasuda il senso di un paesaggio da sogno, fornendo allo stesso tempo una malinconia terrena. Nella traccia d’apertura The Mother Road ritroviamo questa sensazione di viaggio; la profondità della chitarra, le tessiture epiche dei violini, l’agitazione del tamburo gigantesco ed ovviamente la meravigliosa voce che guida quest’impeto. “Guess I needed someone to break me / Guess I needed someone to shake me out” canta nel ritornello con un trasporto emotivo davvero comunicativo. C’è una dolcezza molto tenera nella sua voce che si mette a contrasto col tormento dei testi, come in American Darkness, una ninna nanna inquietante dove indugia nell’aria su una strumentazione minima, soffiando tepore e brividi. Il momento rock più pesante è Deranged for Rock & Roll, una traccia che non ha bisogno d’esplodere per dimostrare la sua potenza. Nella title-track c’è una tensione nella chitarra acustica che sembra quasi un fantasma inghiottito da bassi molto nebulosi, mentre in Little Grave quella stessa chitarra ha una cadenza quasi tranquillizzante, merito anche della voce che è una culla in mezzo al cielo dentro la quale rifugiarsi dalle nuvole piene di pioggia. A proposito di pioggia, citiamo la chiusura poetica con The Storm, semplicemente il suono di una tempesta.

Piers Plowman Passus II, William Langland

The second passage of Piers Plowman by William Langland speaks largely of a woman of affluence, Meed the Maid, who dresses very lavishly and holds herself with high esteem. The narrator seems to be enchanted by her and dreams of the line of suitors that must await her wherever she goes. Later in the passus, the narrator introduces the seven deadly sins, which is also pertinent to the topic of sexuality since lust, greed, and envy often go together. The male suitors in the narrator’s dream embody these sins, an important point because in a way it degrades Meed, who doesn’t seem to really need any of them.

In stanza 18, the narrator describes Meed as a “maiden of wealth” which I feel explains the last line of the stanza, “And might kiss the king · as his cousin, if she would.” Unlike most young maidens of the time, Meed seems unpressured to find a husband and I feel like that is in part due to her riches. She doesn’t need a man to support her or her lavish lifestyle. The the narrator goes on to speak about how Meed is often chosen by men for her goods, not her virtues or kind nature, which is a prime example of misogyny towards the female gender in the medieval ages.

How construeth David the king · of men that take Meed

7 And of men of this mould · that maintaineth Truth And how ye shall save yourselves · the Psalter beareth witness: Domine, quis habitabit in tabernaculo tuo (2), etc. `And now will Meed be married · all to a cursed wretch, To one Fickle-Tongue · offspring of a fiend. Flattery through his fair speech · hath this folk enchanted, And all is Liar's leading · that she is thus wedded. `To-morrow will be made · the maiden's bridal, And there might thou know if thou wilt · which they be all That belong to that lordship · the less and the more. Know them there if thou canst · and keep thy tongue still, Blame them not but let be · till Loyalty be judge And have power to punish them · then put forth thy plaint.

8 `I commend thee to Christ,' quoth she · I and his clean mother, And may no conscience cumber thee · for coveting of Meed (3).'

9 Thus left me that lady · there lying asleep. And how Meed was married · meseemed in a dream That all the rich retinue · that with Falsehood reign Were bidden to the bridal · on both the two sides Of all manner of men · the mean and the rich. To marry this maiden · was many man assembled, As of knights and of clerks · and other common people, Assessors and summoners · sheriffs and their clerks, Beadles and bailiffs · and brokers of wares, Couriers and victuallers · advocates of the Arches- I cannot reckon the rout · that ran about Meed.

10 But Simony and Civil Law · and assessors of courts Were most privy with Meed · of any man, methought. But Flattery was the first · that fetched her out of bower, And like a broker brought her · to be with Falsehood joined. When Simony and Civil Law · saw the will of them both, They assented, for silver · to say as both would. Then leapt Liar forth and · said `Lo here! a charter That Guile with his great oaths · gave them together,' And prayed Civil Law see · and Simony read it. Then Simony and Civil Law · stand they forth both, And unfold the enfeoffment · that Falsehood hath made, And thus being these fellows · to read out full loud:

11 `Sciant praesentes et futuri, etc. (4) `Wit ye and witness ye · that wander on this earth,

12 That Meed is married · more for her goods (5) Than for any virtue or fairness · or generous nature. Falseness is fain of her · for he knows her riches; And Flattery with fickle speech · invests them by charter To be princes in pride · poverty to despise, To backbite and to boast · and false witness to bear, To scom and to scold · and slander to make Disobedient, and bold · to break the Ten Laws. 'And the earldom of Envy · and of Wrath together, With the stronghold of Strife · and Chattering-out-of-Reason, The county of Covetousness · and its coasts about, That is, Usury and Avarice · all them I grant, With bargains and brokerage · and the borough of Theft.

13 `All the lordship of Lechery · in length and in breadth, As in works and in wards · and watching with eyes, And in clothes and in wishings · and with idle thoughts Where the will gladly would · but the power is weak.'

14 Gluttony he gave also · and great oaths together, And all day to drink · at divers taverns, There to jangle and jape · and judge their fellow Christians. And on fast days to feed · before the full time And then sit and sup · till sleep them assail, And to breed like town swine · and repose at their ease, Till sloth and sleep · make sleek their sides; And Despair to awaken them so · with no will to amend; They believe themselves lost · this is their last end.

15 And they to have and to hold · and their heirs after, Dwelling with the Devil · and damned be for ever, With all that pertaining to purgatory · in the pain of hell. Yielding for this thing · at one year's end Their souls to Satan · to suffer with him pains And with him to wander with woe · while God is in heaven.

16 In witness of which thing · Wrong was the first, And Piers the pardoner · of the Pauline order, Bart the beadle · of Buckinghamshire, Reynold the reeve · of Rutland soke Mund the miller and many more other. `On the date of the Devil · this deed I enseai, In sight of Sir Simony · and by Civil Law's leave.'

17 Then Theology was vexed · when this tale he heard, And said to Civil Law · `Now sorrow mayest thou have

18 Such weddings to wangle · to work against Truth; And ere this wedding be wrought · woe thee betide! For Meed is a woman · of Amends engendered, And God granted to give · this Meed to Truth; Thou hast given her a beguiler · now God give thee sorrow! Thy text telleth thee not so · Truth knows the sooth, For dignus est operarius · his hire to have; Thou hast fastened her to Falsehood · fie on thy law! For all by lying thou livest · and lecherous works; Simony and thyself · shame Holy Church; The notaries and thee · annoy the people. Ye shall atone for it both · by God that me made! Well wot ye, ye liars · unless your wit fails, That Falsehood is faithless · and false in his works, And was a bastard born · of Beelzebub's kin. And Meed is a mistress · a maiden of wealth, And might kiss the king · as his cousin, if she would (6).

19 'Therefore, work ye by wisdom · and by wit also, And lead her to London · there law is declared, If any law will allow · of their lying together. And though justices judge her · to be joined with Falsehood, Yet beware of their wedding · for a wise one is Truth And Conscience is of his council · and knoweth you each one; And if be find you in default · and with Falsehood hold, It shall beset your souls · full sour at the last!'

20 Hereto assented Civil Law · but Simony would not Till he had silver for his service · and also the notaries. Then fetched Flattery forth · florins enough, And bade Guile to give · gold all about, And notably to the notaries · that them none might fail, And fee False-Witness · with florins enough: `For he can manage Meed · and make her assent.'

21 When this gold was given · great was the thanking To Falsehood and Flattery · for their fair gifts; And they came to comfort · from care this Falsehood And said: `Certes, sir · cease shall we never Till Meed be thy wedded wife · through the wits of us all. For we have Meed managed · with our merry speech, That she granteth to go · with a very good will To London to look · if that the law would Adjudge you jointly · in joy for ever.' 22 Then was Falseness fain · and Flattery as blithe, And caused all men to be summoned · from the shires about, And bade them be bound · beggars and others, To wend with them to Westminster · to witness this deed. But then looked they for horses · to carry them thither, And Flattery fetched forth then · foals enough, And set Meed on a sheriff · all newly shod; Falsehood sat on an assessor · that softly trotted; Flattery on a flatterer · finely attired.

23 Then had notaries none · annoyed they were That Simony and Civil Law · should on their feet go. But then swore Simony · and Civil Law both That summoners should be saddled · and serve them each one, And had provisoes apparalled · in palfrey wise. `Sir Simony himself · shall sit their backs.

24 `Deans and subdeans · draw you together, Archdeacons and officials · and all your registrars, Saddle them with silver · our sin to sanction, As adultery and divorces · and secret usury, To bear bishops about · on visitations.

25 `Partisans of the Paulines · for plaints in consistory Shall serve myself · that Civil Law is called; And cart-saddle the commissary · our cart shall he draw, And fetch forth our victuals · from fornicators' fines.

26 `And make of Liar a long cart · to draw all these others, Such as friars and false fellows · that on their feet run.' And thus Falsehood and Flattery · fared forth together, And Meed in the midst · and all these men after. I have no time to tell · the tail that them followed, Of many manner of men · that on this mould live; But Guile was foregoer · and guided them all.

27 Truth saw them well · and said but a little, But pricked his palfrey · and passed them all, And came to the king's court · and Conscience it told. And Conscience to the king · rehearsed it after. `Now by Christ!' quoth the king · `if I might catch Falsehood or Flattery · or any of his fellows, I would wreak on those wretches · that work so ill, Make them hang by the neck · and all that maintain them! Shall no man on this mould · go bail for the least,

28 But right as law shall allow · let it fall on them all.' And commanded a constable · the first one that came, To, 'Arrest those tyrants · at any cost, I bid; And fetter Falsehood fast · in spite of any gifts And get off Guile's head · and let him go not. And if ye light on Liar · let him not escape Ere he be put in pillory · for any prayer, I bid; And bring ye Meed to me · in spite of them all.'

29 Dread at the door stood · and the doom heard, And how the king commanded · constables and sergeants Falseness and his fellowship · to fetter and to bind. Then Dread went quickly · and warned Falsehood And bade him flee for fear · and his fellows all.

30 Falsehood for fear then · fled to the friars. And Guile started to go · aghast for to die. But merchants met with him and made him abide And shut him in their shops · to show their wares, And apparelled him as a prentice · the people to serve.

31 Lightly then Liar · leaped away, Lurking through lanes · lugged about by many. He was nowhere welcome · for his many tales, Everywhere hooted · and hustled away; Till pardoners had pity · and pulled him indoors. They washed him and wiped him and wound him in clouts; And sent him with seals · on Sundays to churches, To give pardons for pence · by pounds at a time. Then looked at him leeches · and letter they sent That he should live with them · and look at men's water. Spicers spoke with him · to inspect their wares, For he kenned their craft · and knew many gums. But minstrels and messengers · met with him once And held him an half-year · and eleven days.

32 Friars with fair speech · fetched him thence, And lest others should know him · dressed him as a friar. But he hath leave to leap out · as oft as him liketh, And is welcome when he will · to stay with them oft.

33 All fled for fear · and were hiding in holes; Save Meed the Maid · no man durst abide. But truly to tell · she trembled for dread, Her hands wrung, and wept · when she was arrested.

3. Seeing as how this is partly a theological allegory, coveting Meed would be seen as a fatal sin.

5. She is coveted for her riches and her looks rather than her good nature.

6. This sinuates that Meed feels free to be with who she likes, perhaps because she is already affluent and seemingly supporting herself.

DJ DELTA: DJ stilisticamente poliedrico, unisce una profonda conoscenza musicale ad una tecnica avanzata di scratch e mixing. I suoi dj set si distinguono per lo stile serratissimo delle selezioni fatte di cambi, jugglins e mix molto rapidi. Protagonista della scena black siciliana da oltre 20 anni, ha collaborato con diversi gruppi Hip Hop nazionali e internazionali quali Barile+Gheesa, Big Joe & Johnny Marsiglia, Mr.Phil, Stokka&MadBuddy, Dj Double S, Adriano Bono e partecipato alla realizzazione di album e mixtape a tiratura nazionale. Esperto di musica Funk, Soul, Hip Hop e Reggae, dalle radici ad oggi, sa muoversi trasversalmente costruendo live set sempre diversi.

Campione italiano e finalista mondiale del Red Bull Thre3Style 2016, la più spettacolare competizione fra DJs al mondo che ogni anno raduna i migliori performers di tutte le nazioni offrendo showcase mozzafiato.

E’ stato il dj ufficiale degli Shakalab, collettivo di musica Reggae-Hip Hop con cui ha realizzato due album (“Duepuntozero” – 2016 e “Tutto Sbagliato” – 2014), e ha portato in giro per l’Italia coinvolgenti live show e attesissimi concerti.

Nel 2015 pubblica insieme a DJ Double S il mixtape “ComboKlat”, una selezione che fonde HipHop e Reggae impreziosita dalla partecipazione dei nomi di punta della scena Reggae nazionale, come i Sud Sound System, i BoomDaBash, Mama Marjas, Brusco, e internazionale come Alborosie. Nel 2017, sempre con DJ Double S, pubblica il volume due di ComboKlat, che anche in questo caso vanta partecipazioni eccellenti come Ensi, Danno, Zuli, Payà, Marcolizzo.

Avido collezionista di vinili e instancabile digger, è stato ospite di importanti manifestazioni (come il Red Bull BC-ONE, il Tour the Forst, il Cici Film Festival, il Sunrise Festival, il PLAS, il Salina Doc Festival, il Be There or Be Square, Alcart, Inycon Festival ecc.) e guest in alcuni fra i più importanti clubs italiani (come il Demodè di Bari, il Club Partenopeo di Napoli, l’Urban di Perugia, l’Ecs Dogana di Catania ecc.) e internazionali (come il Gate 7 di Zurigo, il Casino Club di Madeira, ecc.). Convinto che il dj sia ormai un musicista a tutti gli effetti, pensa che la musica sia fatta dalle persone e non dagli strumenti musicali: poco importa che si abbia in mano un plettro o un crossfader, l’importante è che sia buona musica. Attualmente i suoi set spaziano dai suoni classici dell’Hip Hop e del Reggae al sound più moderno di matrice Trap/FutureDancehall/Moombahton.

The members of Yard Beat are the following Desem (Mc/ Selector/ Owner), Mitch (Mc/ Selector_NY Member), Lion (Selector/Mc_NY Member), Masa (Selector), Vito (Selector_Italy Member) and Holy Box crew (sound system engineers). Starting 2008, Yard Beat had the show with Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Busy Signal, Munga, Pressure, Alaine, Sanchez, Marcia Griffiths, Bushman, Black Kat, Stone Love and Bass Odyssey in Japan. Also touring 27 places throughout Japan in three months. Appearance in Germany for Sentinel’s famous “Kingston Hot” event in 2009. In 2009, Yard Beat played for Global Clash in Brooklyn against Black Kat, Super Sonic, Tek-9, and Synemaxx. Finishing off 2011 strong Yard Beat had an impressive showing at the “Brooklyn Show Down ~The Good The Bad The Ugly~” clash becoming victorious over Blunt Posse from the Bronx and Black Blunt Sound out of Negril Jamaica. Starting off 2012 sharp as a sword Yard Beat proved to be the better sound defeating Barrier Free in their hometown of Osaka in the clash called ” Who a di baddest Japanese Sound Killer” For the second time in Europe, Yard Beat decided to participate for the biggest sound clash in Europe in 2013. “War In The East” in Enschede Holland against Kosmik Movements from Brooklyn NY and the veteran Sentinel Sound from Stuttgart Germany. June 2, 2012 Yard Beat returns to Brooklyn for one of the most controversial clash yet against Justice from Jacksonville Florida and Orijahnal Vibes from Brooklyn. Due to the confusion of last minute rule change in tune fi tune Orijahnal Vibes ended up the victor but more importantly Yard Beat Sound won over the clash fans letting them know Yard Beat is still on top the frontline. In 2016, Yard Beat toured Europe in the summer time and performed at Rototom Sunsplash and Overjam Festival and all other countries in Europe. Also, Yard Beat was the first Japanese sound to perform officially in Africa for Sashamani Anniversary alongside Romain Virgo. Yard Beat had spent most of times touring outside of Japan in 2016 to expose the sound. In 2017, Yard Beat had decided to participate Boom Sound clash in Jamaica sponsored by Boon Energy Drink. Yard Beat gave a strong impression for the first clash defeating Renaissance from Jamaica by locking off and took next 2 clash defeating Ruff Cut and Rebel Tone from Canada with creativity of their custom dubplates. At the final round, defeated one of the baddest active sound clash sound Bass Odyssey and became the 2017 Boom clash champion. This clash is definitely one of the most controversial clash of the year but Yard Beat had proved to the world that music has no border and most importantly it is about the passion and teamwork makes a dream work. Yard Beat Brings a positive and energetic vibe along with a variety of selections and will keep playing for the people who love Reggae music and prove that music has no border to spread Reggae music worldwide.

DJ MDEE: Nato nel 1992. Ha la musica nel sangue da sempre, comincia a 10 anni a utilizzare i primi software per il mixaggio. A 18 anni incomincia la vera e propria carriera, esibendosi in quasi tutti i club della sua città. Influenzato dal mondo della black music, prende parte a quasi tutti gli hip hop show della sua città, esibendosi a fianco di Nitro, Salmo, Club Dogo, Mezzosangue, Coez, Gue Pequeno, e tanti altri. Nel 2012 fonda insieme ad un amico Badda Cutter Sound, composto da due dj che inizialmente intraprendono la sound system culture, per poi, negli anni, avvicinarsi alle sfumature più innovative ed elettroniche della black music, esibendosi come resident al Don Pedro (Soverato),Scogliera di Pietragrande (Montepaone) e in quasi tutti i live di Eman, cantante di origini calabresi che successivamente arriverà a firmare con Sony music. L’estate 2014 cambiò la concezione della musica per Mattia, grazie all’incontro con alcuni top dj italiani come : Dj Tayone, Dj Jay K. Sempre nel 2014 frequenta i corsi online della Qbert scratch Accademy di Dj Qbert, il più forte scratch dj al mondo e, spinto dalla passione di vecchia data per il turntablism, decide di intraprende la strada del dj/performer. Nel settembre 2015 si trasferisce a Milano, e per la prima volta si esibisce fuori dalla propria regione. Dopo soli 3 mesi, diventa resident Dj del DROP party, e successivamente vince il Notorious Dj contest all’Alcatraz (MI), dove si esibisce a fianco di grossi artisti del panorama italiano come : Boom da Bash, Two Fingerz, J-ax , Fedez ed altri. L’affermazione del Drop nel venerdì sera milanese lo porta nel tempo ad esibirsi nei locali più importanti: Vibe Room, Tube Club, Hollywood, Casa della Musica e nei primi mesi del 2017 diventa guest dj di “Snobiety”, altro format hip hop che si svolge a Torino (Quasar Club)
