here to once again complain about ft and just the. existence of irene & being the mother of erza, which subsequently didn't matter at all after that arc ended. im scratching my head still at the prospect of giving erza an on-page mother, especially so late in the story with no build up outside the arc. idk if im making this up but i remember reading that it wasn't intentional at first, but irene ended up looking so much like erza that it was implemented in the story. i think thats dumb and stupid and boring and dumb!! fair warning that i barely acknowledge irene and erza's familial relation, any development is going be heavily canon-divergent & full of my own tweaks in regards to irene and her story..
#ooc.#ummm yeah and also irene sticking around in wendy was weird too its just ??? like why.#did anything even prove to be important about that outside of a “power upgrade” that couldve been accomplished another way#genuine question btw bc i dont even read 100yq and the last arcs of the main story are fuzzy#and this is coming from ME BTW??? #towers trilogy#towers fall#karina sumner-smith#aroaessidhe 2023 reads#ok archivist wasp author recd this as somehting similar to AW and. yeah. it sure is#in some elements - not in others of course#we looove a narrative that revolves around a friendship that gets the same development as a romance. and there’s no romance in sight#also lowkey mortal engines vibes conceptually? but with magic flying skyscrapers? tho also the plot doesn’t focus on that; and it’s WAY smal#smaller scope. i just mean the cities prey on each other#it's definitely like. in line with a lot of the YA dystopia from that era#like without the Romance Takes Over Everything or I'm Oppressed Because I'm different -#it's truly just about surviving and helping people#maybe i should say Not in line with the popular dystopian YA but more some of the less known ones that actually had a goal and direction#i'm getting off track#in some ways i would have loved more worldbuilding; i feel like i hardly got a feel for much outside of the lower city#like you don't get deep into what the rich ppl cities are like#but then again also i only know what the MC knows and she barely goes in the cities and it's not voluntary#no romance#overall enjoyed a lot

does anyone else remember the walmart smiley creepypasta. the only thing ive ever been able to find that confirms it wasnt just something i misremembered as a kid was a single line on a tv tropes page. even if it hasnt been deleted and lost it would be next to impossible to find because "smiley creepypasta" gives you like a billion results nowadays
