Fic rec Friday #2

More AUs this Friday! I very much admire the creativity that people put into these kinds of fics and it’s just so much fun to see the characters we know in a different setting. 

Both “sweet dreams” and “On Multi-Versal Theory” deal with multiple worlds: the real one together with the the dream world in the first fic and parallel worlds in the second one.

You don’t need to do it-- you don’t need to go back,” Nate asks in a hushed tone, leading Ava to the corner of the room for privacy, though Farah and Mason do a bad job at not appearing to be eavesdropping on them. “I could--” Ava shakes her head, resolute. “I won't allow you to risk yourself.” Nate's smile is so warm something in Ava aches. He squeezes Ava's bicep, this time not hesitating to touch her, which makes Ava exhale slowly, relieved. She wishes things were different between them, she wishes she would have said something all those decades ago, when everything turned into dust.

This fic made me watch the film Inception, because the idea of going into someone else’s dreams was so fascinating to me! I love how it’s explored here, with two storylines running parallel; one in this world, one in the dream world. Not only is this fic a lot of fun to read (looove the romances between Nate and Charlotte, and Ava and Vesper, and the way their perspectives are written), but it also leaves me very curious about how they are going to solve the problem of how Vesper, Rook and Ava are stuck in the dream world. In addition to that, there’s the question of what exactly happened in Ava’s past. Each time this fic updates, I’m very excited to get to read a little more!

Adam held his breath as the reporter walked past, not even noticing that Adam was hidden in the shadows of the hall. He closed his eyes, leaning his head back against the wall once he was alone again. From outside, he could hear Evangeline’s soft breathing, her heartbeat. The quiet sniffles she was trying to hide. What am I doing to her? It wasn’t the first time he’d thought that.

Another fic, another mystery to solve! This time, it’s about how in several universes, Murphy escapes from the Agency and then members of Unit Bravo start to disappear. The idea of multi-verses in general is something I really like, and this fic has me very intrigued about what is going on. Also, also! I love the trope of being forced together in a safe house for Adam and Evangeline. The notes for that chapter are perfect, so let me add them here: “As a little treat, Adam du Mortain gets to be feral and horny and actually do something about it!” Absolutely love how Adam is written in this fic!

Cause my brain's been running with it a lil and... it would be kinda cool if he meets his siter who FOR SOME REASON has powers like the special children. Cause maybe there was somewhere a zealous demon follower of yellow eyes that made sure the sex Sam had with Dr Cara Roberts (from sex and violence) ended in a pregnancy.

I would kinda looove for her to maybe fall to her powers more like Ava Wilson and for her and Dean Jr to have to deal with that, on top of whatever that zealous yellow eyes follower has planned.

Maybe they could even touch on the possibility of Azazel being a fallen angel and get heaven involved. But that would be HIGHLY optional.

I have thought about something similar as well but my idea was more for an AU in the revival. Probably I am stealing from TW (not sure since I haven't watched it only heard references) here but maybe Dean jumps into another reality and comes face to face with DJ and they are obviously very wary of each other for a sec until Sam comes on the scene and calls out "Dean" and they both respond at the same time.

In this reality Sam has two kids DJ and a younger daughter with Jessica (things are not going that well in their marriage or they are divorced) and Sam is a very successful attorney. I would like for DJ to be a pre-teen and the daughter even younger. Sam's life is well put together except that he does have visions and similar other dormant powers that he has suspected for a long time. That's why he has sort of voluntarily strained his relationship with Jessica coz he wants her away in case anything happens to him.

Obviously Sam is not immediately trusting of Dean coz his relationship with his brother from this reality is really bad and they haven't been in touch for years and ended on really bad terms. However, Dean wants to stick around with his brother and niece & nephew for a few days to get to know them a little. As he does that, he realises that Sam is surrounded by all the demons from his reality from Azazel to Ruby to Meg to Brady.

Azazel could be the guy who gave Sam a chance early on and Sam holds in high regard almost telling Dean, that Azazel did for him what John never did. Similarly Brady is his best friend still who he trusts with his life for something to this effect. There could be other folks as well such as Sarah, Bobby etc

The plot can develop from there with him enlisting Bobby and maybe Rufus's help to figure out the demon nexus while Sam is struggling with his own demons and not telling Dean everything about what's going on with him. Also, maybe Sam suspects that maybe whatever is going on with him is also going with DJ but actually it's his younger daughter who maybe a psychic. He eventually shares his fears about his children with Dean but still doesn't tell him everything neither does Dean tell him his fears about the demon. That will make for good drama when they eventually do after getting closure again.

Eventually they talk about John and maybe the plot of the next season is John showing up after years being underground. John is vary for both Sam and his daughter but he is torn since firstly its Sam and secondly the daughter is named after Mary by Sam.

Thanks for the ask..... I guess I was thinking how the Winchester dynamic could play out in the later seasons.

What I love and simultaneously hate about this episode is that it calls attention to the very real and bleak reality that so many public teachers face when it comes to supplying their classroom. God, kudos to the show for drawing attention to it, but it’s so harrowing that it’s even such an endemic problem in the first place. Teachers shouldn’t have to pull from their own pockets to give their kids what they need, but they willingly do every single day.

55. Of the characters you write for, which is your favorite? Has that choice been swayed at all by your followers/readers’ reactions to certain ones?

ooh good question! my favorite characters to write are the ones i have the most fun with. Robin is one of my all time favorites because she's so smart and she can be so sarcastic but I looove writing her nervous rambles and that constant state of gay panic. Ava was also fun, she has a very distinct voice I think which makes writing her fun and also easier! i am VERY easily swayed by readers' reactions and encourament. seriously, enthusiastic support of any story or character will make me write so much more of it. the one that benefited the most from that was probably Wednesday. that story was meant to be a one shot but it got such good reactions it earned 3 chapters more after that lol and became a favorite for me!

WHAT'S my favorite book of-all-time and/or what's my favorite book as of the moment?

- Well, given how much fluttering and fluffness this book has given me, I can say this is my favorite book so far. It's Divergent Series by Veronica Roth. It is always been a dream of mine to have physical copies of this series. It is just such a chef-kiss book! The movie adaptations are great, too!

While my current favorite book as of the moment is the Power Plays & Straight A's (CU Hockey Book #1) by Eden Finley and Saxon James. I am not a fan of hockey games for obvious reasons — because my country doesn't imply hockey sports in our schools because due to the fact that it must be held in a big stadium and large space consuming court, and we cannot have a tradition to play hockey above iced lakes due to the fact that we don't have winter seasons — but I really enjoyed the story all throughout. The ML is very understandable to the MC, and knows his boundaries. I'm off to reading the second installment of the series. LOL.
