let’s see….. I’m just gonna do. art. in general. I will feel ignorant and uneducated if I try to get too specific. I did go to the Seattle Art Museum, so these are fresh in my mind:

1) I loooooove love love LOVE!!!! Impressionism. I think I write like this.

2) anything to do with judeo-christian art, but usually specifically Madonna artwork

3) in slightly the same vein, medieval art!! the way you can get some truly insane pieces depicting death and the plague and the various gory death in the Bible, or just like. town life. something pastoral or bucolic. and the illuminated manuscript stuff, I adore!

4) moving on….. renaissance art. one of my favorite bands and favorite albums is Fleet Foxes, and their titular album has a good idea of what I like.

5) that art style that’s always in figure drawing/gesture drawing? yeah. love that

I'm so super glad you're into Yugioh now!! I've loved your art forever and seeing you draw the Kaiba bros is a dream come true, you draw them so well! I'm curious though, do you have any ships??

I’m glad you’re liking the yugioh stuff!!! Kaiba bros were meant for me I swear lmao. And in terms of ships, not particularly? To me yugioh is a show about siblings. Seto and Mokuba (and Noa). Ishizu Marik and Odion. Trinity and Joey. And I know not everyone sees it this way but I also see Yugi and Atem as like… siblings isn’t entirely the right word even though I think their interactions give SOOO much older and younger brother energy. But more like they’re two halves of the same soul that were separated and then grew in different ways if that makes sense. But regardless their interactions are more familial to me than anything (though I realize that’s not everyone’s take). (This is also just me playing in the space but I loooooove the idea of Seto and Kisara having the same kind of deal. They’re part of the same soul but her soul is sealed in a stone tablet, and even then she found her way back. Then Kaiba pulls out his 3 blue eyes and it’s like ✌️😜 me n the girliepoos!!!)

The only thing I could say for ships personally is that I’m living in an au in my head where Atem refuses the afterlife and gets to stay in a body of his own, and him and Kaiba have a thing. And then at some point there’s a failed marriage proposal Pride and Prejudice style where kaiba’s like “I am SICK I am ILL I can’t stop thinking about you, I’ve tried, I can’t, it makes me so fucking pissed that I’m obsessed with some broke dweeb that was living in the brain of the dweeb in chief, so just MARRY ME.” And Atem just kind of looks at him like uh huh….ok….and….you thought this phrasing would make me say yes. Well I can’t say I’m surprised that you are once again back on your bullshit.

I also think it’s very funny if Kaiba and Ishizu have a thing specifically because my friend sent me a manga panel of Ishizu saying she was prepared to die if she couldn’t save her younger brother and kaiba’s like “holy shit she’s just like me fr….” But again that exists in a mind palace where Ishizu and Atem are like. Friends with benefits who are both dating Kaiba and he schedules quarterly reviews with both of them wrt The Relationship. So all the shippy stuff to me is purely for comedic effect essentially. Also if all disagreements between the three of them are handled immediately with a duel and smartass comments which I think would be particularly fun to see with Ishizu, because it’s a crime we only got to see her duel once (though she did make Kaiba sweat which was so real of her). I also think that Kaiba deserves to be smacked in the mouth but I like mean people so I wouldn’t want anyone to do it—EXCEPT Ishizu because of all the shit he talked about Marik (even though he was yami Marik at the time). He knows the rules about messing with younger siblings so if she smacks him in the mouth he had it coming.

Anyways tl;dr - all of this to say that the ships aren’t too serious to me, it’s the family relationships that really hooked me on yugioh!!!

Wei Wuxian became human using a ritual that took his voice in exchange, they use the same for Lan Wangji and it also takes his voice when he's a merman. Thank you so much for your question and support <3! I don't really have any commission prices or anything because truthfully my art for me is mainly a hobby. The main thing with commissions is I'd feel I'd have to get them out in a timely manner, and since I'm a full-time student, that isn't always possible. Too, coming up with a payment method isn't something I've spent much time thinking about. I'd definitely be open to taking them in the future once I get a system set in place, though! For the time being, if you have something you'd like to see me draw, my requests are wide open. I always love hearing ideas for art. Try and be as descriptive as you can in any requests (colors, poses, etc)- maybe even saying what "style" of mine you'd like it in (I don't really have a very consistent style, I like to play around lots with it so including one of the pieces you like in a request will help me better complete the vision)! Obvi I'm mainly into JJK right now but other fandoms I'll do requests for are: - Death Note (love love loooooove it!) - Ace Attorney (idk if this is niche or not?) - Demon Slayer - MHA I'm open to other fandoms, too, but the most completed pieces will prob come from requests from fandoms that are eating away at my brain wrinkles. So a thing that happened friday and put me in a mood - there is one person in real life who has seen all my art, mostly because they don't know who any of these people i draw are, not even the A listers like rami (they'd never heard borhap!!! like the song! ). So ive been texting the artist's house since i cant actually go visit, and sending stupid memes, one of which was a goofy cartoon of a cute dog that looked like buddy. And my friend calls me up friday night and immediately launches into 'that was awesome, you drew that right? Are you changing your style? i love this new style, its so great!!!!' and kinda went on and on until i just quietly said no i found it on the internet. And they got really really quiet and went 'oh'. And then added: 'well it was really really good and i love that style and it looked exactly like buddy!"

But oh my god its like being stabbed with a knife, i thought my friend liked my stupid personal portrait drawings. And this cartoon - its the style of art that i loooooove but can never replicate no matter my decades and decades of trying when i was younger. You know that very emotional, very fast, storyboard esque, very few lines but the lines are Good, seemingly effortless execution, that kind of thing. I wish i could do that stuff. It just felt like a very harsh reminder that my personal drawing style is shit and nobody is gonna like it except my friends on here (love u), and even then its more the subject of the drawings than the doodles themselves.

Anyway, sorry, im deep in the 'i hate my drawings' hole and digging deeper, dont expect much from me for a while :)

Summer reading/writing/arting tag

1) Describe one creative WIP project you’re planning to work on over the summer.

Aside from the obvious continuing to work on my fic, I hope, HOPE to make a piece of cover art for Ascent from the Ashes.  I don’t know much about creating cover art, though, so if anyone has any advice I am open to hear it!

2) Rec a book!

Am I basic if I go with a Stephen King novel?  The last book I read of his was Misery, and when I tell you my palms were sweaty (mom’s spaghetti) and that I was actually scooting to the edge of my seat during the climax, I am NOT kidding.  This book was gripping and terrifying in all the right ways, and while it’s an older novel, I highly recommend it for horror enthusiasts.  I personally enjoy all of his works that I’ve read, there are many that I haven’t gotten to, and I would say he’s my favorite author and I hope someday my writing can be as vivid and horrifying as his.  (Side note, i HATE horror movies, but I loooooove horror writing.  Love it.  Give it all to me)

3) Rec a fic! 

Ooh, and it has to be outside my character tag?  Can it still be in the fandom?  If so, Between The Ashes and Fire by the bestie @elfinismsarts.  I’m kind of particular about what kinds of fic and writing styles I like to read, and after just reading the first chapter of the first installment, Blood of the Dragon, I was hooked and read the fic in its 69 chapter entirety.  I have never once read a multichapter fic from beginning to end until this one, and its sequel Blood of the Wolf is just as good!  Please please go check it out!  Her characterization of the Companions is second to none, and her OCs, Firien and Tahir, are incredibly fleshed out and are a true example of Grumpy and Sunshine.  Absolute delights.  I love them both ❤️

4) Rec music!

I don’t normally listen to anything while I write or draw, yeah I know, that’s weird.  But on the few occasions I do, I actually prefer to listen to instrumental pieces that fit the tone of what I’m writing.  The Fiechter Brothers have an extensive library of worldbuilding-type music that is perfect to pop on to do some writing, especially their fantasy albums.  They're on both Youtube and Spotify. I’m also a big fan of ambience videos by various artists on Youtube, so for example if I’m writing something taking place outdoors at night I might pop on a video of a crackling fire and crickets, birds etc.  I’m an extremely visual writer and reader, basically seeing everything I am writing in my head like a film as I go, so hearing such things in the background really help me get in the right mindset.  

5) Share one piece of advice!

Let me keep this short and sweet.  Create for YOURSELF.  Don’t create for likes and attention, it will only serve to disappoint.  If you’ve got an idea in your head, fuckin do it, and don’t dwell on the stats… says the person who is fighting with this mindset on a regular basis 🙃

Hehe, tbh I am more interested in drawing humans, hobbits or dwarfs :D I loooooove Aragorn, but also Bilbo and Thorin Oakenshield! I prefer faces with beards and scratches and dirt in a face 😅 So no Legolas for me. Buuuut Targaryen would be actually interesting for me. Maybe because most of them are kinda insane, and I would like to draw insanity in a face 🤭

i do ! it really depends on what you wanna draw buuut here's a few that apply to everything !

also i loooooove giving art help it is NEVER cringe :} if you ever see me draw something and go "woa how did they do that" PLEEAASE ask me !!! i will be more than happy to share my process on individual subjects/techniques/etc

USE REFERENCE IMAGES !!! i know it's always said, but it really helps. HOWEVER what i don't think is emphasized enough is your reference images for shapes, poses, animals, objects etc should be photos, not other people's drawn artwork. with a real life photo, you won't pick up another artist's mistakes and are more likely to be able to develop your own style ! plus, a lot of artists don't appreciate heavily referencing their images, since it can end up getting close to tracing in some cases.

DON'T FORCE A STYLE ! your art style is the way you personally comfortably draw, it's the shortcuts you take that make drawing easier and the details you personally have fun doing. you can definitely get tips on what to try out, take inspiration, etc, but at the end of the day it's just how you draw. everyone who draws has a drawing style, full stop

SKETCH !!! too many artists starting off i see either don't use sketching or use very little. yes, you CAN learn to draw without ever sketching, but it is a huge help. sketch basic 3d shapes overtop reference images to get an understanding of the structure. this is an exception to the first tip i gave, you absolutely can reference the way other artists structure their sketches. later on, you'll be able to eyeball it, for sure, but that takes time n practice

DON'T BE SHY ! this is still something i need to remind myself with. once you know the rules for drawing certain things, don't be shy to break them. exaggerate expressions, stretch or curve things if it makes it look better. don't be shy with shading if you want to do some, i used to shade way too faintly and was too nervous to really darken my shadows n brighten my highlights. most of all don't be shy to ask for help !

i might draw up a few visuals for rules of thumb i follow and reblog this with them later, but for now if you got any more questions feel free to ask :}

I wanted to ask a question: I noticed whenever I see your twitter art and tumblr art even tho it’s the same fan art some of the stuff on tumblr is slightly different like obi-wan/anakin’s face is more structured on tumblr version or slight change of pose or adding new things like obi-wan’s red lingerie in your obi-wan’s history of bras/lingerie while he’s naked on twitter version. Do you purposely change it for tumblr?

My art-style has been mutating through the years since I graduated and nowadays I’ve found a nice balance with this sketchy one I’m currently using (definitely influenced by Mikael Ross, his traditional cartoonish style is a huge inspo for me when i do comics). but I love trying new methods and switching things up every now and then. And yes, the double lineart is intentional!! I like how it gives some dimension and dynamism to the anatomy and makes it feel like animation 💞

And you are very observant!!! Bc I definitely change things in my art when I post them to different sites. part of it is because I’m kind of a perfectionist, and once i post something on twitter i start noticing all the mistakes and tangents and I just know i won’t post it on tumblr until i feel satisfied and fix things or re-do them. on the other hand, tumblr is very strict with the nudity stuff and i keep getting flagged every time i post something slightly suggestive (or maybe someone is reporting me 👀 won’t be the first time tbh) so i gotta tone things down, like adding obi-wan’s red lingerie in that one fanart while on tumblr he’s showing ass and cock HAHAHA. so yep, twitter gets ass and tits while tumblr gets the fixed 2.0 stuff. but in some way i kind of like the idea of posting different things on each site, like little easter eggs 🥰

I think her favorite colors are yellow, green, and purple ! Though if she had to pick just one, it would be yellow.

Her favorite Disney movie is Tarzan, and she really likes Kerchak. Her love for him stems from when she was a baby, for some reason his angry face just always made her giggle. and she does Not like that he dies 💔 She also really loves Tarzan because the music reminds her of Giselle, who used to sing You'll Be in my Heart when she was a baby 🤧 I think she's also very fond of Mulan, and the Princess and the Frog. and while it's not a big favorite, she likes Frozen because she knows Robert does not like it, so she can annoy him with Let it Go.

Her favorite thing to do one-on-one with Giselle is just about everything. I think Sofia follows her mother around wherever she goes, and always wants to help, and learn whatever it is Giselle's doing. If her mother is cooking, Sofia is right there beside her (usually in her way (affectionate)) and asks a million questions. Same with sewing, or gardening, or even cleaning. And she's always very proud of herself when she's able to help !! I think she really loves cuddling with Giselle most, though, especially if it involves her mother reading to her, she looooooves her mother's voice (and who doesn't, honestly)

With Robert, her favorite thing is driving him crazy. and I mean that both jokingly, and genuinely, because god, she really loves when he lets out an exasperated sigh, it's her favorite thing in the world. Her dad is the most "let's just do something calm and relaxing" parent, which is nearly impossible for Sofia, because she just can't sit still, but she is very fond of playing sudoku !! Both Robert and Sofia are big math nerds, so from a pretty early age, he was teaching her how to play. They play that, or just really any math related activity, and she loves it. Giving her a math activity is the easiest way to get her to stop bouncing off the walls.

With Morgan, it's arts & crafts related stuff. Which, she does this with Giselle, too, but she really loves doing it with Morgan just because her art style is so different from their mother's. I think they color, and draw, and paint a lot !

She loves gorillas, and when they go to the zoo, she always wants to see them first. But she's a huge bug and reptile girlie at heart, like she loves bugs way too much, and both Robert and Giselle have to remind her constantly that the bugs cannot cuddle in bed with her, that they have to stay outside. She really wants a pet snake, or a lizard, and while Giselle is fine with it, Robert is like "please tell her no, please tell her no, please tell her no, please !!!!!!!!!!!!!" because he can't deny his daughter anything, but he really doesn't want a snake in the house because he knows Sofia will make him hold it and he really doesn't want to ��

I think she would want to be a fiction writer! She's got such a huge, active imagination, and she's very creative. She's always coming up with wild stories, and eventually she'd start to make coherent plots and characters, and put all those ideas on paper. I actually really love the idea of both her and Pip writing stuff together when they see each other, because he's a great storyteller too!

Her favorite stuffed animal is a little ugly stuffed dog named Fred. I say ugly in the most affectionate way, of course. It was something Robert bought for her before she was even born, so she's had it since she was a baby, and she loves it. She takes him everywhere, and for awhile he, of course, had no name, and was just "doggy", but then, suddenly, she decided his name was Fred. No reason behind it, he's just Fred. or Freddy, sometimes.

Math is definitely Sofia's favorite subject !! I like to think she'd probably join a mathletes type group at some point :]

I go back and forth on whether she (or Morgan) would ever enjoy video games, and I think yes, but the problem is all the games I know are a bit older, so I guess Sofia will just like (kind of) outdated things soidjfsodjsf I think she'd like Cooking Mama !! and she loves Nintendogs, oh and Sims, she loves the Sims !! and Pokemon, of course, we can't forget Pokemon. but also, the idea of her playing Grand Theft Auto, but never the actual storyline, just stealing cars and running people over is kind of hilarious to me, so I think she'd play that too.

Sofia loves soccer, absolutely loves soccer. I think she tears it up on the field, I really do. The coach tells her a few times "you can relax a little, it's okay... you're six, and so is everyone else on the field..." and she's like "no, I literally can't, actually, they have to be eliminated." She inherited Giselle's competitiveness and overall lack of Chill™️

With Andalasia, I think she'd probably start going when she's around four. Giselle was fine with her portal hopping, and really wanted to take her, but Robert was worried about things possibly going wrong. Sofia was still so young, and such a little thing, he didn't want her getting hurt along the way, so he tried pushing it back as much as he could. Once she hit four, though, he knew he couldn't stop her from going, because Sofia was very aware of the portal existing in their backyard, and he knew if he didn't say yes, she'd jump down by herself, which was an even scarier thought. She was, of course, perfectly fine. As always, Robert just overthinks, but hey, someone in this family has to worry !!

I actually bounce back and forth a lot on whether I think Sofia would want to live in Andalasia when she grows up or not. Cause on one hand, she doesn't want to leave the world she grew up in, and there's far too much she'd miss but she also loves the carefree nature of Andalasia, and prefers the overall vibe a lot more than Reality. She knows that living there wouldn't mean never coming back or seeing her family, of course, but it's still a big change, and one she goes back and forth on a lot. Ultimately, I think she would stay in Reality, but I'm torn because I also do think it'd be interesting for her to move to Andalasia permanently, so idk. It's a convo I have with myself quite often.
