Even though I seem like a really harcore/punk/metalhead kind of guy, in reality I listen to alot of old-school gfunk hiphop. Outkast is one of my favourite duos with some really inspiring work. Just wanted to make a poster that was quite symmetrical and simple. Really tried of reducing the elemts being put in in this poster and I feel like it worked quite well. Adding some graffiti hand-drawn lettering really popped this piece out from the rest of my work.

Top left: BURNT ONES-BLACK TEETH AND GOLDEN TOUNGES. I found this at a record store having no clue what it was and I was very pleasantly suprised. I love the art I wish I knew who did it, I think it’s the same person that did reverse shark attack.

Top right: CASTING.-HEATWAVE. I’ve known abt casting for a long ass time since like 2016 I think, but I had never dived into their discog for some reason, iunno. This shit is so good, such amazing influences from the west coast and GFUNK with it being a vapor wave album too, it’s just so fucking relaxing. This album feels like a summer breeze on the beach

Brides of Funkenstien: Disco To Go. This west coast flavored PFunk offshoot features a classic break sampled by Too Short, 45 King( Lakim Shabazz) and WC. The brides were background singers for Parliament and originally Sly Stone. They released 3 George Clinton produced albums with this one Funk Or Walk in 1978 which went gold and this song being a top 10 hit on the urban charts. Many years later Dawn Stlva the lead bride sang backgrounds on a few Del Tha Funkee Homosapien songs on his first record I Wish My Brother George was Here.
