#salty talks #minecraft #seriously ive been looking for that thing for years now. im p sure it had a sequel #also just. its gonna be really interesting to discuss this movie bc theres an insane amount of competition #like. theres so much minecraft storytelling on yt. with so many genres. what is this movie going to offer #that makes it stand out makes it more worthwhile to see than these free yt narratives #bc im someone who yknow. grew up on minecraft yt once the game got going. i have seen a lot of really cool ways people #use minecraft for storytelling and leverage it in many different ways #will this movie be better than the ‘movie’ a ten year old put together in their survival world #yknow? bc theres a lot of ways you can take a narrative in minecraft. and like #its a video game movie. about a video game thats already been- millions of times- used to create stories by thousands of people #is it going to use minecraft itself better than the minecraft stories that make the experiences of playing the game central #idk. bc ive gotten back into minecraft yt and have found a handful of really good narratives told using minecraft #i personally have no interest in this movie when i have andrewgaming67 and whatever zeemyth is doing and every other #minecraft project that floats around in my youtube recommendations that sounds interesting #…will it top villager news #will it be more worthwhile to see than feuerri’s old stop-motion lego minecraft world

its been almost 5 years why are people still saying that they made sonic ugly on purpose as a marketing tactic . please that theory is so easily debunked . internet stop spreading misinformation about sonic challenge failed immediately

#like on one hand i understand that not everyone was obsessively following the first sonic movie's development in real time #like i was . so its not reasonable to expect random people who arent into sonic at all to know everything i do automatically #but at the same time ...... surely its not that hard to just research the topic a little before insisting that it was faked ...#not only is it blatantly not true it also feels disrespectful to the artists who had to put in the work to change it #and also there are actual valid criticisms you could make about the sonic movies. you dont have to just lie about stuff. come on .#iswear people start doing this again every single time a trailer for a bad movie comes out #also while im at it people expecting the ''bullying them into fixing it'' thing to work with the minecraft movie is so .#with sonic they had to change one character. which already takes a lot of work #but with minecraft theyd have to redo the whole thing which i highly doubt theyd be willing to do . these are not comparable at all

Why the hell do I have so much lore ideas stuck inside my brain for an AU of a game that’s literally abandonware and also a Minecraft spinoff game like sure I could write about canon, it’s pretty interesting and the lore while not my favorite is quite plentiful for me to build off of…

and by bullshit i mean "rewatch MCD for the millionth time in a row and resist the urge to make an MCD OC"

i have yet to succeed in my bullshit.

#minecraft diaries #*makes another MCD Oc for the nth time and pairs them up with garroth*#he's my special baby boy #latest MCD oc is Skyen. they have a fantasy version of permanent photokeratitis and is the one who discovered Garroth outside of PD back #when he first ran away. and they were ✨Roommates✨. smth smth Garroth never shows his face to anyone but Sky and yet Sky is the only one #who can never see him. their blindness concept is admittedly ripped straight out of an old SkyArmy deviantart comic i read way back when.#they can technically 'see' except thats relative because they can barely see past their nose IF they hold their hand up to their face and #block out the light. they wear a bandana around their eyes and unlike AARON has an actual REASOn for it bc if they dont they get really bad #headaches and their eyes hurt due to being really sensitive to the light. they were taken in by an old man who lived in PD and taught them #how to deal with their blindness and essentially daredevilled their ass (also ripped off the SkyArmy Comic). they're still blind as fuck th #so while the heightened senses and training helped. they still like. need help with stuff they normally wouldn't if they had their sight.#they left PD to go traveling after the Old Man died when he and garroth were 18-19 and returned sometime after Aphmau became lord.#WHEN that is. i have not decided. there are a lot of options available for their return but im leaning towards 'before Donna's wedding but #AFTER garroth gets shot'#Skyen refers to Garroth as 'my friend' affectionately and Garroth does the same. they return to living with one another after skyen returns #and one of the first things they do is sit down with garroth and trace his face to feel if anything changed. which there has.#Skyen 🤝 Laurance: Blind Buddies!#Skyen helps Laurance adjust to blindness and lends him one of their bandanas to cover his eyes. Laurance jokes its because nobody wants to #see his eyes. Skyen dryly tells him that when he inevitably gets sand in his face he'll be thankful there was something to protect #his eyes against it. can you tell that i've thought a lot about this

i wrote a page and a half of minecraft fanfiction about a person not feeling right in the minecraft world and they want to 'chase the sun' to see where it actually sets and they never get 'closer' to the sun bc mc but they meet lots of villagers along the way and end up documeting and making maps and returning to steve and the rest of the playerskins about 2 hours before my friend sent me the trailer leak.

i'm so constantly tempted to put little supernatural references in the creative writing story i'm working on for uni, even though it has literally nothing to do with spn whatsoever

#the thing is that the start of the story is set in november 2021 so the whole time i'm writing it i'm like ooh this is when this thing #happened! this chapter is set on november 5th and the characters don't even know it!!#but it's a middle grade ghost story and my narrator is 12 and very much your average cis probably-gonna-turn-out-to-be-straight #boy with mainstream and normal interests who probably wouldn't know anything about it because he's too busy hunting for #ghosts and playing minecraft or whatever #but on the other hand his older sister and his cousin are both neurodivergent & lgbt & mentally ill so they probably WOULD know about #spn. and i'm going to have to mention all the trump drama SOMEWHERE in my story if it's set then and i would just feel weird #doing that without talking about spn because it's so interconnected to it in my mind

Here’s the big baddie 😮‍💨 my final for Digital Illustration I ! I was so excited to do this assignment when I first heard about it in Week 1, I had kinda planned from the start for it to be an Aiah and Polor piece since I can’t get their dynamic outta my head. Came back to an old rendering style I haven’t touched in ages and really tried to push the color palette this time around (I learned about gradient maps ! They’re super cool !!) In the end, I think there’s a lot about it I wouldn’t change at all. This is honestly one of my best pieces if I’d have to judge, haha.

I’m super pleased with the finished version even though it drained every ounce of my life force <3 I now vanish to pursue more back-breaking projects

Sorry I'm a Katelyn fan I've got a lot of thoughts about her

Okay so in my rewrite she makes her own armor and weapons and all that because it's what her dad taught her how to do, and she follows through with that because she uses it to put the runes her mother taught her on everything her fire touches. She literally can't explain why she does it, she thinks it's a fire proof enchantment.

It's literally the runes to create a staff and Lucinda makes a comment asking why Katelyn has it on her gauntlets, and Katelyn's just like oh its so I don't accidentally light myself on fire.

Katelyn is a witch who was only taught fire spells and uses her fire magic like an element-based mage and has no idea she's a witch. Witches magic has a recoil/drawback sort of thing that's why they use staffs, Katelyn just knows these runes make her arms not light on fire so she uses them on literally everything

But that's like a whole plot point in my rewrite so that's fun, it's also where Katelyn and hyria start to bond a bit, it's pretty cool

What I'm trying to say is Katelyn basically turns her body into a witches staff without even knowing she's a witch, and hyria just fucking let's her

Similar to how the Minecraft cave spider is slightly smaller than the average spider model, I think glow squids should have a smaller model than the normal squid

#Which makes sense too since a lot of bioluminescent squids are smaller than your traditional/more common squid #and I just think it would be a fun little detail #like the squid having a smaller size would change absolutely none of its mechanics it’s purely aesthetic #like there are so many non-functional that were originally in Minecraft #that I find it funny when Mojang tries to claim they couldn’t add something because it wasn’t practical or realistic #cough cough fireflies cough like dude you made ocelots completely obsolete when making cats a different animal #my beef with Mojang is simple: they haven’t been updating the game they have been revamping and re-branding it #nether update? no fuck no! they added a lot of new Contant but they did not improve upon any pre-existing elements #but what about the zombie Pigman weren’t they updated? no they were replaced by something inspired by them #with a zombie version to calm the crowd.#because if they’re their own species now with their own spawning structures then who the fuck do the nether fortress is belong to!?#The nether update added a lot of things that were inspired off of pre-existing things in the nether but none of them are direct improvements #for example the nether wart forest would you are unable to get nether wart from #The new soul sand valley is interesting but I wish your soul Sand actually looked like it had souls in it like the classic stuff #and I think the new sand could be improved upon if you made it look like there were hands of the souls #because I always thought you walked slowly on soul Sand because the souls were trying to drag you down with them✨#it’s funny how much Minecraft is treated like a Game for all ages because when you really look at it I think it’s actually quite dark #but take what I say with a pinch of salt because I’m just rambling and this post was originally about squids #glow squid #minecraft glow squid #bioluminescent squid #bioluminescent #Minecraft #squid #Minecraft squid #bioluminescence #caves and cliffs #minecraft nether
